- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:13Speaker 1: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:17Speaker 1: On today's episode, we're discussing Paris is always a good idea.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Episode two Colin Revisited, which is now streaming on Homemark Plus.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We would love to hear your thoughts on this series.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You can email us at Hello at Girls Gonehollmark dot
- 0:32Speaker 1: com with your feedback on the first two episodes.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I love that they dropped back to back episodes.
- 0:38Speaker 1: That's smart. If for some reason you're listening to this
- 0:42Speaker 1: episode of Girls Got Homemark and you're not watching this show,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I would highly recommend that you start watching the show.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And I know not everybody has.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Hallmark Plus will remind you once again that you can
- 0:52Speaker 1: get it for free with a library card. We have
- 0:55Speaker 1: a tutorial for how to do that on Girls Gonehollmark
- 0:58Speaker 1: dot com and they are all Also, if you check
- 1:01Speaker 1: out Hallmark Plus on Instagram, they're always dropping promos and
- 1:06Speaker 1: they have one that's a full year for fifty percent off,
- 1:09Speaker 1: which would get you obviously all the way through Camptown
- 1:11Speaker 1: to Christmas. So good idea, something to consider. We are
- 1:15Speaker 1: not getting paid by them, but no, just a suggestion.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You know what was funny the other day, just a
- 1:22Speaker 1: random side note. We were walking by a Hallmark store
- 1:26Speaker 1: and I was with my daughter and she goes, Hey,
- 1:28Speaker 1: there's your guy from Hallmark who was in the window.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Tyler Hines.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Yes, there's your guy. My husband was watching something the
- 1:38Speaker 1: other day and he's like, look, it's one of your
- 1:39Speaker 1: Hallmark guys.
- 1:40Speaker 2: But it was Cameron Matheson.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I'm like, Cameron hasn't been on a Hallmark in a
- 1:43Speaker 1: hot minute. Yeah, it's a gaf dude these days. Yeah, husband,
- 1:48Speaker 1: get it together. He was not like the News and
- 1:53Speaker 1: Notes segment either. Okay, are you ready for a sa
- 2:00Speaker 1: SYS for Episode two of Paris is always a good idea,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I am. Chelsea begins her journey to reconnect to her
- 2:07Speaker 1: past and to find Colin, a sheep farmer in Ireland.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Annabel accompanies her, and Knightly grows curious. Lazy Shavert stars
- 2:18Speaker 1: as Chelsea. No production needed, obviously. When is her Disney movie? Oh,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we don't have a date on the Disney Christmas movie yet, Dewey, Nope,
- 2:27Speaker 1: probably mid September.
- 2:28Speaker 2: We'll get all those dates.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Oh, I thought you were going to say it comes
- 2:31Speaker 1: out mid September. I was like, what what? What? Not
- 2:34Speaker 1: Like I haven't done this for the last six years.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Scott Michael Foster co stars as Jason Knightley, best known
- 2:42Speaker 1: for his roles on Greek, Chasing Life and Crazy Ex Girlfriend.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We last saw him on Hallmark. In Return to Office,
- 2:51Speaker 1: Rebecca Hansen stars as sister Annabel. She has a long
- 2:54Speaker 1: list of acting credits and voice work, but this appears
- 2:56Speaker 1: to be her first Hallmark project. Oh my god, welcome
- 2:59Speaker 1: to the network. I love her, Love love love like
- 3:03Speaker 1: big heart eye emojis, love her. Stephen Hagen returns to
- 3:08Speaker 1: Hallmark as Colin. He starred in last year's Love of
- 3:13Speaker 1: the Irish and Fun Fact. He appeared opposite Lacy Shavert
- 3:16Speaker 1: more than a decade ago in the Hallmark movie A
- 3:19Speaker 1: Royal Christmas. Hey. Sean Connor appears as barkeep Decklan. He's
- 3:23Speaker 1: another first time around Hallmark, but has a growing list
- 3:26Speaker 1: of acting credits. Hey, Wendy, what was your first impression
- 3:30Speaker 1: of Colin revisited? Turns out the one who got away
- 3:34Speaker 1: got married. My first impression is I'm stealing Annabel's People
- 3:40Speaker 1: who know directions are wizards. As my new Real Housewives tagline,
- 3:44Speaker 1: this is oh your Housewives life though, That's hilarious. That
- 3:49Speaker 1: is hilarious. That's why I love Annabelle. They give her
- 3:53Speaker 1: some really great lines. Yes, yeah, love her, love her.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Remind the listeners how our episodes for this show are
- 4:03Speaker 1: a little bit different than our movie reviews for this show,
- 4:07Speaker 1: much like The Way Home. If you're a listener of
- 4:09Speaker 1: those episodes, We're going to run down the major plot
- 4:11Speaker 1: points in this episode, discuss our thoughts on them, some predictions.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Towards the end of the episode, we are going to
- 4:17Speaker 1: share some thoughts on the differences between the book and
- 4:21Speaker 1: the series. So far, several people in our Facebook group
- 4:25Speaker 1: and Instagram have been talking about their thoughts on what
- 4:28Speaker 1: they think is going to be different, and we're going
- 4:31Speaker 1: to talk about that at the end. I'm very curious
- 4:33Speaker 1: for those of you that read the book before watching
- 4:35Speaker 1: the series your thoughts on the changes. So let's start
- 4:40Speaker 1: this episode where the episode starts. We're back in the
- 4:43Speaker 1: Bridal suite. Yes, now, I want to ask you a
- 4:49Speaker 1: question that seems obvious to me, but I want to
- 4:51Speaker 1: make sure it's obvious to YouTube. They're intentionally not talking
- 4:54Speaker 1: about whose wedding miss is. Yeah, of course, Okay, she's
- 4:58Speaker 1: still leaving her voice memo to whomever.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Can't imagine who that could be.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm sure if there's people listening who are like, hey, dummies,
- 5:07Speaker 1: it's for that dot dot truly me, I'm like, I
- 5:11Speaker 1: have no idea.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Oh you have an idea. I mean, who are the
- 5:16Speaker 2: two stars? I know?
- 5:18Speaker 1: But why would she be leaving nightly a voice memo?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh wait a minute.
- 5:25Speaker 1: In this episode we saw him like running listening to
- 5:28Speaker 1: her in his ears, So maybe this is like their
- 5:32Speaker 1: kink because her.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Mom did it.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I get that too now, but but still, like,
- 5:39Speaker 1: who why would she be leaving her husband voice memos
- 5:43Speaker 1: and not or her boyfriend or potential husband and not
- 5:47Speaker 1: her child. It's different, you see though, the mom did
- 5:52Speaker 1: leave voice memos for the dad too, so.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It's just a storytelling device.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I get it, But it was I thought it was
- 6:00Speaker 1: a little weird because there was she said, here's some
- 6:04Speaker 1: context clues when she was talking into the mic, and
- 6:07Speaker 1: honestly can't remember if it was at the top of
- 6:09Speaker 1: the episode or at the end, because it revisited at
- 6:11Speaker 1: the end right in the.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Episode, did it?
- 6:15Speaker 1: I think so, but she says I don't think it did,
- 6:20Speaker 1: but okay it didn't. God, I just watched it last night.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Take a fish oil, Wendy. She's like, now you know
- 6:25Speaker 1: about my parents' love story and then how I got
- 6:30Speaker 1: to you?
- 6:30Speaker 2: So then is she telling?
- 6:32Speaker 1: Is she leaving voice memos for her current dude about
- 6:38Speaker 1: all her other dudes?
- 6:40Speaker 2: That's the one.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Interesting part of this to me, because she uses the line.
- 6:47Speaker 2: He made me feel weak in the knees.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yes, And I wondered, is that something I would say
- 6:52Speaker 1: about a past relationship? Is that something you want to
- 6:55Speaker 1: hear about your lover's past relationship? Right? Telling the stories
- 7:01Speaker 1: of these past romantic relationships, I would tell them differently
- 7:05Speaker 1: to my her partner and love of my life than
- 7:08Speaker 1: I would to you. Yes, exactly. Yes. So I think
- 7:13Speaker 1: that maybe is where I love this series so far.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I'm not dogging on it, but that maybe is where
- 7:20Speaker 1: this storytelling device falls apart a little bit, because.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You know, you're just not gonna tell the same details
- 7:27Speaker 2: and less surprise me.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And she's leaving these voice memos for her future child.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Maybe maybe I would have to re listen to because
- 7:37Speaker 1: I was getting very much like romantic partner vibes. I
- 7:42Speaker 1: don't know, but I would have to watch carefully to
- 7:44Speaker 1: see if there's there's some crossover. I'm telling you, if
- 7:48Speaker 1: the love of my life was like, oh yeah, that
- 7:50Speaker 1: person made me weak in the knees, I'd be like.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Excuse me, right, absolutely, use me you please.
- 7:59Speaker 1: If you guys have theories, email us hello at Girls
- 8:02Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark dot com.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I'm dying to know.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So the other, you know, Annabel comes into the room
- 8:09Speaker 1: and she's like, you're not dressed yet. Chelsea asks Annabel
- 8:12Speaker 1: to fend off the circus for a little bit longer,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and Annabel's like, I love love. What's interesting is Annabelle
- 8:18Speaker 1: like comments about her dress, which to me puts this
- 8:24Speaker 1: more in the Sherry's wedding column. Yeah, simply because I
- 8:29Speaker 1: feel like Annabel and Sherry's taste would have been so
- 8:31Speaker 1: far apart. But Annabel and Chelsea, I mean, Annabel's forty girl, like,
- 8:36Speaker 1: maybe any dress would have been out of her comfort zone. Yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Perhaps, I just don't know. I guess we'll just have
- 8:44Speaker 2: to wait.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yes, Also, does the bridal seed look like it's in
- 8:48Speaker 1: kind of a castle to you?
- 8:50Speaker 2: Oh?
- 8:51Speaker 1: I didn't look that closely. What made it look castleine
- 8:55Speaker 1: to you? There's like brick walls and some of the windows.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I don't know it was it was giving not just
- 9:01Speaker 1: the standard hotel suite.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It could it be Boston. It certainly could be Boston.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Boston's Old.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I don't know about Castle Old, but you know Old.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yes, you make a good point. Was it Vancouver?
- 9:15Speaker 1: I don't know where they filmed this?
- 9:17Speaker 2: Well wait a minute, Oh, I don't know where.
- 9:19Speaker 1: They filmed like I think the state side scenes and
- 9:23Speaker 1: that's the words I'm looking for, because they did film
- 9:25Speaker 1: it on location, maybe like they were in Ireland, which
- 9:30Speaker 1: looks so beautiful, and I have to I have to
- 9:32Speaker 1: ask because I know you've been there a bunch of times.
- 9:35Speaker 1: The weather looks so beautiful during this time. They Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 1: that was like gray and rainy all the time. Yeah Old.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: My parents were just there a couple of weeks ago,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and apparently they, like parts of Ireland, recorded their hottest
- 9:49Speaker 1: temperatures on record.
- 9:50Speaker 2: While they were there.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I think they got luggy and some of these outdoor
- 9:54Speaker 1: scenes with the sun because.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Especially because I feel like they.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Were filming this earlier this year, during like the end
- 10:03Speaker 1: of winter. Yeah, so maybe even maybe.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Even some was film late fall last year.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I don't remember, but yes, they are lucky because it's
- 10:14Speaker 1: typically gray and rainy, and like she was out on
- 10:17Speaker 1: that cliff side in a tank top. I was like,
- 10:19Speaker 1: how are you not freezing? Right? I know, Well, there's
- 10:21Speaker 1: a scene like when Colin's shearing sheep. He's very obviously sweaty,
- 10:26Speaker 1: which not to say that you wouldn't get sweaty if
- 10:28Speaker 1: it was cold outside. But Chelsea, actually I notice seemed
- 10:32Speaker 1: like a little a little glowy in there as well. Oh,
- 10:36Speaker 1: like she was warm. I mean it is seventy five
- 10:38Speaker 1: degrees in Dublin today, Okay, heiser in the high sixties
- 10:42Speaker 1: and seventies for the next two weeks, so it's not
- 10:45Speaker 1: particularly cold there right now. I know we're jumping ahead,
- 10:48Speaker 1: but I have a question about the shearing of the sheep.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yes, is that how it's done?
- 10:55Speaker 1: You hold the animal like that and like shear the bell.
- 11:00Speaker 2: East side of it. I mean I think so that
- 11:04Speaker 2: looks like backbreaking work.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's that's the vibe where to get
- 11:10Speaker 1: like he's a manly man, he's also quite cultured. I
- 11:13Speaker 1: just can't imagine all day like holding up this very
- 11:17Speaker 1: heavy animal.
- 11:20Speaker 2: To shear.
- 11:21Speaker 1: It just was mind blowing by it and stuff you
- 11:25Speaker 1: don't see in southern California. Guys, I have no idea. Yeah,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and apparently they stink.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I would have.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Well, I guess when you go to like the Orange
- 11:36Speaker 1: County Fair. Yeah, the barn does not smell great, but
- 11:41Speaker 1: that's your sheep experience. Yes, and I'm sure I'm talking
- 11:45Speaker 1: to a girl who's probably went to witness an actual
- 11:48Speaker 1: sheep sharing in Ireland.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Not in Ireland. Okay, there it is, guys.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I knew it. Well, I've never seen one. I was
- 11:55Speaker 1: gonna say, I I've never seen sheep sharing. I mean,
- 11:59Speaker 1: I've been to Ireland in Scotland, and I think Scotland
- 12:02Speaker 1: has more sheep than people. I don't think I'm making
- 12:04Speaker 1: that up. There's sheep everywhere in Scotland. But I used
- 12:10Speaker 1: to go to a summer camp on a working ranch and.
- 12:14Speaker 2: There were goats. I'm trying to remember if there were sheep.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I kind of think there were sheep. But anyway, I.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Knew you would have some real life experience to share there.
- 12:25Speaker 2: You know, I did Falconry and ire I knew it.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I almost said it. I almost said it, thank you
- 12:31Speaker 1: for thank you for bringing it upa se if I
- 12:34Speaker 1: can find the photos for the show notes. Okay, we
- 12:40Speaker 1: can rein it back in. Should we talk about our
- 12:43Speaker 1: first segment because we haven't even really gotten to it
- 12:45Speaker 1: other than briefly whiffing over it. Chelsea and Collins past
- 12:50Speaker 1: relationship was dig into Chelsea and Collins live. Watching this,
- 12:54Speaker 1: I wonder like, was Collin ever really like the or
- 13:00Speaker 1: was he just the first maybe you know what I mean?
- 13:06Speaker 1: Because my takeaway and it wasn't until the end of
- 13:10Speaker 1: the episode where I was like, oh, maybe she wasn't
- 13:13Speaker 1: necessarily in love with Colin, Like maybe she was in
- 13:16Speaker 1: love with a version of herself that existed when she
- 13:20Speaker 1: met him. You know, there was a lot of like
- 13:24Speaker 1: they were drawing a lot of parallels between like who
- 13:28Speaker 1: she was then and who she's become now. Right, and
- 13:32Speaker 1: that came via Annabelle and like wardrobe and that kind
- 13:37Speaker 1: of element of storytelling, right, I thought. But I love
- 13:42Speaker 1: that they kept referring to Colin as almost like he
- 13:45Speaker 1: was local, like a local celebrity, Like when Declan was like, yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 1: I know, Colin rolls his eyes. Yeah, I mean, they
- 13:54Speaker 1: you Colin as a thirst trap to get people to
- 13:56Speaker 1: this farm for sure, exactly because okay, first of all,
- 14:02Speaker 1: I need to talk about the farm tour when they arrive. Yes, there's.
- 14:06Speaker 1: First of all, there's that. There's the couple, the two men.
- 14:10Speaker 1: When Colin arrives, they like look at each other and
- 14:13Speaker 1: they're like almost cheering a little bit when he shows up,
- 14:17Speaker 1: Like this is what we've been waiting for. I just
- 14:21Speaker 1: this show is definitely doing the most it can within
- 14:25Speaker 1: the Hallmark restraints, I think, and I appreciate that.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I appreciate it. They're like, look at this hot dude
- 14:32Speaker 2: cheer and sheep.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, does that land on Hallmark Channel?
- 14:36Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Or people will be like behind their keyboards on IMDb,
- 14:41Speaker 1: there's nothing to be offended by for you and I,
- 14:45Speaker 1: we're not offended by it.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 14:48Speaker 1: So what they tell us about Colin and Chelsea's relationship
- 14:51Speaker 1: right like they fell hard and fast, and Colin was like,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I'd marry you right now if you could. I'll prove
- 14:57Speaker 1: it to you when you come back. He handed me,
- 15:00Speaker 1: makes her this compass, and you know the question is like,
- 15:04Speaker 1: is he the guy who just follows this hard? Had
- 15:09Speaker 1: she come back? Because we learned later what would had
- 15:13Speaker 1: she come back, you know, a year later, that would
- 15:16Speaker 1: have been devastating, I think for sure. And I think
- 15:20Speaker 1: the way that they're making because Chelsea and Colin are
- 15:23Speaker 1: obviously very different, and I think that the way that
- 15:26Speaker 1: they're making their relationship work is she's like, oh the
- 15:30Speaker 1: man could shear a sheet? But he read Cureguard and like,
- 15:33Speaker 1: don't worry, there was a brain underneath all of that
- 15:36Speaker 1: brawn too. But you can see her starting to question
- 15:40Speaker 1: a little bit about her life if this fits with
- 15:44Speaker 1: who she is. See this is where I think a
- 15:47Speaker 1: homework would typically turn Colin into some sort of villain. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:51Speaker 1: And they don't know which works here because I think
- 15:55Speaker 1: as a viewer, you're still kind of like you're on
- 15:58Speaker 1: the ledge, like I don't know is he a good guy?
- 16:01Speaker 2: Is he a bad guy?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Like?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Is this going to work?
- 16:04Speaker 1: How?
- 16:05Speaker 2: It's not about Colin. It's truly about Chelsea.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Right, So that's what I like that's different about it
- 16:11Speaker 1: in terms of being like Hallmark formula, because I think
- 16:17Speaker 1: Hallmark formula in their movies it's typically about like if
- 16:21Speaker 1: the guy is a good guy or a bad guy,
- 16:23Speaker 1: the girl is always good, right, so I like that
- 16:28Speaker 1: we have, like Chelsea, we're examining Chelsea's life of who
- 16:32Speaker 1: she is now? You know what I mean?
- 16:35Speaker 2: Like, does the current version of herself?
- 16:38Speaker 1: Is she looking? No? Actually, I think the bigger question
- 16:41Speaker 1: is she looking for an old version of herself with
- 16:45Speaker 1: these revisiting these old lovers, or is like you said, like,
- 16:52Speaker 1: is she trying, like her to fit her current day
- 16:54Speaker 1: back into these lives?
- 16:55Speaker 2: Does that make sense?
- 16:56Speaker 1: I think you're exactly right, Like, is she trying to
- 16:59Speaker 1: find some older version of herself? Or is she trying
- 17:01Speaker 1: to figure out it has been ten years, People grow
- 17:04Speaker 1: and change and mature, and her life has changed. Do
- 17:06Speaker 1: any of these guys fit who she is now? Is
- 17:09Speaker 1: maybe the better question. It's a very rich question and
- 17:12Speaker 1: one that I really like that they're asking because I
- 17:15Speaker 1: feel like it's interesting to me as a viewer, as
- 17:19Speaker 1: a forty eight year old woman watching this show going
- 17:25Speaker 1: through a big transition in my own life, right and
- 17:29Speaker 1: me kind of searching it for who, Like it's always
- 17:32Speaker 1: going to come back to me guys, but asking like
- 17:35Speaker 1: who am I? Who am? I?
- 17:36Speaker 2: Now know that my daughter is.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Leaving to college, right, so there has been these like
- 17:44Speaker 1: moments where I'm like trying to revisit like old, old
- 17:51Speaker 1: eras of my life and does today's current windy fit
- 17:54Speaker 1: back into those lives or can I just take this
- 17:57Speaker 1: current version of myself and move forward? Yeah? Oh sorry,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I that's one hundred dollars. Thank you, see you in
- 18:04Speaker 1: two weeks. Why don't we take a quick break and
- 18:08Speaker 1: we'll come right back to talk about Chelsea and Colin reconnecting.
- 18:20Speaker 1: So we're back, and Chelsea and Nannabelle have arrived, and Chelsea's.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Worried, like, am I too late? It's been ten years?
- 18:29Speaker 1: Chelsea kind of feels like, looking back, maybe her life
- 18:32Speaker 1: has been a little bit on pause for the last
- 18:35Speaker 1: ten years in some regards. Obviously, in many ways she's
- 18:39Speaker 1: made huge advances in her career. Well, and she makes
- 18:43Speaker 1: excuses for that too, right She's like, I'm all you know,
- 18:47Speaker 1: She's not like I'm all business, but she kind of.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Says basically, yeah, I'm never not working.
- 18:54Speaker 1: You can't fault a person for that though, right, Like,
- 18:56Speaker 1: sometimes we are just faced with choices, especially as women,
- 19:00Speaker 1: like if you want a career or do you want
- 19:05Speaker 1: you know, can we have everything?
- 19:06Speaker 2: I mean we can? I mean it?
- 19:08Speaker 1: Or not it comes down to nobody's going to be
- 19:10Speaker 1: faulting a man for going all in on his career
- 19:13Speaker 1: and focusing on doing the most right. As much as
- 19:18Speaker 1: I love Annabel, she's kind of giving her sister a
- 19:22Speaker 1: hard time, right, you know, I think Annabel's walking an
- 19:24Speaker 1: interesting line because I loved that when they arrive at
- 19:29Speaker 1: the tour, Deirdre recognizes Chelsea, which Chelsea's shocked by, and
- 19:34Speaker 1: you're just like, I remember all of my girls. And
- 19:36Speaker 1: then she sees Colin walking up and Chelsea panics. Annabel
- 19:39Speaker 1: really is like, Okay, let's get out of here. It's
- 19:41Speaker 1: too much. Like she really meets her where she needs
- 19:43Speaker 1: her to be, she kind of stops pushing. So I
- 19:46Speaker 1: think Annabel is trying to walk the line of pushing
- 19:49Speaker 1: Chelsea forward and then recognizing the moment when okay, I
- 19:54Speaker 1: need to step back and listen to what she's really
- 19:56Speaker 1: saying to me. I cannot explain enough that I I'm
- 20:00Speaker 1: so glad that this is a pivot that they've made
- 20:03Speaker 1: from the book. You know, we're going to talk about it,
- 20:04Speaker 1: but if we just had Chelsea out here alone in
- 20:08Speaker 1: Ireland and nobody to spiral with, it would not make
- 20:12Speaker 1: it as interesting to watch.
- 20:14Speaker 2: It wouldn't be as deep.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Right, and we'll talk about it. But it also makes
- 20:19Speaker 1: the nightly story more interesting having Annabelle's little singers.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too. A question for you.
- 20:26Speaker 1: The tour guide recognizing Chelsea after ten years and like,
- 20:32Speaker 1: this is probably the most like unbelievable part of m
- 20:35Speaker 1: episode to me. Like she sees her walk up and
- 20:37Speaker 1: then instantly clocks her, Like really would that happen?
- 20:42Speaker 2: She'd made that much of an impact.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Lacy Shiver has a recognizable face, but she had bangs
- 20:48Speaker 1: back then too.
- 20:48Speaker 2: She had bangs.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I'm telling you that's they're like, Lacey, we got to
- 20:52Speaker 1: make you look ten years younger, so we're going to
- 20:53Speaker 1: put bangs on you. And by the way, I think
- 20:56Speaker 1: that those bank extensions look really good. They look sometimes
- 21:00Speaker 1: they look really horrible, like bing wig. You know.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I think they look great. They look really good.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Okay, let's move on. I want to say you were
- 21:11Speaker 1: talking about my visits to Ireland. Carrie looks so familiar
- 21:14Speaker 1: to me, this town that they're in, And I texted
- 21:16Speaker 1: my mom because I we went on a family trip
- 21:19Speaker 1: years ago, I I don't know, eight nine years ago
- 21:23Speaker 1: and I was like, was Carrie the town we went
- 21:25Speaker 1: to you after we went on the boat and she
- 21:27Speaker 1: was like, I don't remember a boat. I was, yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 1: you know anyway, you know, maybe I'm just generalizing Irish towns,
- 21:35Speaker 1: but is that where they filmed it at? You know,
- 21:39Speaker 1: that's a great question, Like are they actually in Carrie
- 21:41Speaker 1: when they're I think so because it's so it's so
- 21:43Speaker 1: unique looking, but I don't know, I don't know, so
- 21:47Speaker 1: stunning when they're like sitting out her and Annabelle are
- 21:50Speaker 1: sitting out at that little like cafe table in the
- 21:52Speaker 1: middle of like a lawn and it's surrounded by garden.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I was like, that's my dream.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Right, and then have barkeep Ducklan bringing you a full breakfast?
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah? Hello, I just please? Can we go?
- 22:06Speaker 1: Is that the experience we would get if we you
- 22:08Speaker 1: and I went to Ireland? Yeah?
- 22:10Speaker 2: Look at a dare manner and then we'll plan our trip. Wait,
- 22:13Speaker 2: wasn't that.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Haunted only only to me? Okay, it's not officially haunted. Okay,
- 22:19Speaker 1: it's haunted by uh motion sensor lights that turn on
- 22:23Speaker 1: on the ground.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Do you guys know my ghost story? Nobody believes me.
- 22:29Speaker 1: It's so funny. There are haunted hotels in Ireland, but
- 22:35Speaker 1: apparently not once I want to go to.
- 22:37Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no no. My parents stayed in one once. No,
- 22:39Speaker 2: that's how my stepmom chooses hotels in cities. No, yes,
- 22:43Speaker 2: I would never no no no no no no.
- 22:47Speaker 1: If I'm ever staying in a hotel that is haunted
- 22:49Speaker 1: and I don't know it, don't tell me. So let's
- 22:55Speaker 1: talk a little bit more about Annabelle. Okay, because praise
- 22:59Speaker 1: be to Annabelle. She finally gets her out of her uniform,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and like, I I get it, but I'm like, Chelsea
- 23:06Speaker 1: really doesn't have like play clothes, Like she's still in
- 23:09Speaker 1: her like skirt and tank top and heels visiting a
- 23:13Speaker 1: far she didn't pack anything.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I know, I'm kind of she flew in that outfit.
- 23:17Speaker 2: She flew Overseas in that outfit.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's a little bit unbelievable too. And but
- 23:23Speaker 1: on the other handling, she was going to Paris for work,
- 23:27Speaker 1: so she probably just only packed work stuff.
- 23:30Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm team Tennis shoe.
- 23:32Speaker 1: So yeah, you don't pack a sink you're going on
- 23:35Speaker 1: a work trip, and you don't pack a single casual
- 23:37Speaker 1: outfit for maybe you don't like she has fully steve
- 23:41Speaker 1: jobs her wardrobe. She wears some version of the same
- 23:44Speaker 1: outfit every single day because she's comfortable.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And I get it.
- 23:47Speaker 1: I get the idea that clothes are like your armor
- 23:50Speaker 1: and it takes a decision off of your plate and
- 23:53Speaker 1: you feel comfortable and you know it works, and it's
- 23:55Speaker 1: just one less thing to think about. Obviously, it's not
- 23:59Speaker 1: working for a farm. I know. I was kind of thinking, like,
- 24:03Speaker 1: wouldn't she have stopped to pick up a tennis shoe
- 24:06Speaker 1: like before going out to the farm. She knows what
- 24:09Speaker 1: to expect, right, She's been there. But on the other
- 24:13Speaker 1: side side, I do love like a wardrobe scene, and
- 24:15Speaker 1: I was hoping that this we were gonna get more
- 24:19Speaker 1: like a little try on situation. That's just because I'm
- 24:23Speaker 1: just a girl, guys. I mean, I like, I like
- 24:28Speaker 1: all this stuff. I like how Annabelle is like pushing her,
- 24:32Speaker 1: not even like pushing her, because Chelsea just wants to
- 24:35Speaker 1: be comfortable, right, she just wants to feel like she
- 24:39Speaker 1: just feel like herself. Yes, so, I mean I even
- 24:44Speaker 1: what she was wearing is like so very much lacy
- 24:47Speaker 1: shab Yes, I mean it was still very put together
- 24:50Speaker 1: that flannel and black jeans and boots situation. She wasn't
- 24:53Speaker 1: in like a sweatshirt and sweat She wasn't in sweats. Yeah.
- 24:57Speaker 1: It reminded me of that movie with her and Brennan Elliott,
- 25:02Speaker 1: where like, remember we watched the second one and everybody's like, no, no, no,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you need the first one. Yes, yes, yes, yes, I
- 25:09Speaker 1: can't remember the name of it, but you guys know
- 25:12Speaker 1: what I'm talking in love? In love?
- 25:14Speaker 2: Is that what it's called?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Something like that, Yeah, Valerie Valentine in love, something like that.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I can't recall.
- 25:20Speaker 1: You're right, because they have that little farm that they're
- 25:22Speaker 1: running there. This is when we get the I'm never
- 25:24Speaker 1: not working line. I think it tells us a ton
- 25:27Speaker 1: about who Chelsea is and how she sees herself. But again,
- 25:33Speaker 1: like you said, the visual cues are working hard here
- 25:36Speaker 1: because we get like, Okay, Chelsea's letting her guard down
- 25:39Speaker 1: a little bit, as told to us by the flat that.
- 25:41Speaker 2: She's in the flannel and flats. I'm comfy.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah. A little bit later, as Annabel and Chelsea are
- 25:49Speaker 1: getting ready for Chelsea's day, this is a nice touch,
- 25:51Speaker 1: like Annabel's doing Chelsea's makeup, which I like, because I too,
- 25:56Speaker 1: am just a girl. And then this was so funny though,
- 26:00Speaker 1: right where She's like it stays so light out here,
- 26:03Speaker 1: like you're doing a smoky eye on me or a
- 26:05Speaker 1: nighttime look or whatever. It just was really funny. The
- 26:08Speaker 1: writing is really, really, really great. The dialogue stuff is
- 26:11Speaker 1: really great. It's contemporary and it's youthful.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:15Speaker 1: The fact that Annabel's like, uh, coworker's blowing up your
- 26:18Speaker 1: phone in it, Yeah, I love that.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Work, dude.
- 26:21Speaker 1: And Annabel gently pushes the Sherry conversation a little bit
- 26:26Speaker 1: with Chelsea. She says, like, dad won't get engaged without
- 26:30Speaker 1: your blessing, and basically, I think you should give it
- 26:33Speaker 1: to him. And Chelsea, I think I think Chelsea's being
- 26:37Speaker 1: a little bit unfair towards her father.
- 26:40Speaker 2: She's like, I just never thought he would move on,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and like her dad's young.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it would be unfair to expect your
- 26:46Speaker 1: parent to live alone for the rest of their life, just.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Like live with the memory of mom.
- 26:51Speaker 1: And she makes a comment like, yeah, mom thought dad
- 26:54Speaker 1: was her soulmate too, and I just feel like her
- 26:57Speaker 1: mom passing on her dad finding another relationship doesn't negate
- 27:00Speaker 1: the relationship.
- 27:03Speaker 2: He and her mother had, Yeah, not at all.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, Yeah, this Sherry stuff makes me sad, and
- 27:10Speaker 1: I like that Annabelle is trying to reason with Chelsea
- 27:14Speaker 1: about it without going too hard. And then I like
- 27:19Speaker 1: on the flip side that Chelsea's like, oh, you're spending
- 27:23Speaker 1: time with Sherry, you know, is kind of unsettling to
- 27:27Speaker 1: her as well.
- 27:28Speaker 2: So double betrayal.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the sister stuff is really good, and they're dealing
- 27:34Speaker 1: with some I don't want to call it trauma, but
- 27:36Speaker 1: they are dealing with heavier stuff absolutely. If they're not
- 27:41Speaker 1: even fully intentionally talking about it, it's just coming out
- 27:45Speaker 1: in like these little bits and pieces, you know.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a part of who they are.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Well, we get to Chelsea and Collins dates.
- 27:52Speaker 1: To me, this is like the such a nicely directed scene, hmmm,
- 27:58Speaker 1: because we have Elsea's sitting there at the table right
- 28:01Speaker 1: with the beers, and we have Annabell like kind of
- 28:06Speaker 1: watching her in a decline, like watching from the bar basically.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But I just love the pacing of it and the
- 28:15Speaker 1: anticipation that is built, yeah, with him coming in, and
- 28:19Speaker 1: he does come in like he's like a mythical folklore right,
- 28:23Speaker 1: Like there is like an air about him, right.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Sure, a little slow motion action it.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Before it even happened, I had a sinking feeling. I
- 28:33Speaker 1: was like, Oh God, somebody's gonna walk in behind him.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I don't know if.
- 28:36Speaker 2: It's the way that they shot it.
- 28:37Speaker 1: They like left space between behind him, and I was like,
- 28:43Speaker 1: oh no, oh no.
- 28:44Speaker 2: But and then sure enough, here comes his wife with.
- 28:48Speaker 1: His kids in schee woks. She's stunningly beautiful. I think
- 28:53Speaker 1: I love so much about this scene. What I love
- 28:55Speaker 1: is right before this, Chelsea is talking about like I
- 28:59Speaker 1: don't I don't know how to make his life fit
- 29:02Speaker 1: with mine, Like I can remember our relationship, but I
- 29:05Speaker 1: can't figure out how to make like am I meant
- 29:08Speaker 1: to live on a farm?
- 29:08Speaker 2: Like how is this gonna work?
- 29:10Speaker 1: And that it's just such a nice set up because
- 29:14Speaker 1: I love that annabel As soon as we meet the
- 29:16Speaker 1: wife Ifa, Annabelle's pissed and Chelsea's like, eh, like kind
- 29:22Speaker 1: of is almost I feel like it's almost a relief
- 29:25Speaker 1: to Chelsea a little bit, maybe like it takes the
- 29:28Speaker 1: decision away from her.
- 29:30Speaker 2: But the look on her.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Face it's heartbreak. I feel like it's heartbreak in this scene. Well,
- 29:36Speaker 1: when when she says like, when did you meet? And
- 29:39Speaker 1: he says ten years, four months, and twenty three days. Totally.
- 29:43Speaker 1: You know, it's a callback to earlier when he remembers
- 29:45Speaker 1: exactly how long ago it was that she left. And
- 29:49Speaker 1: of course in the beginning we're to think like, oh,
- 29:51Speaker 1: she left such an impact on him, and now it
- 29:53Speaker 1: totally reframes that moment in her mind too. No, he
- 29:57Speaker 1: remembers because that's the day he met the actual love
- 30:00Speaker 1: of his life. Yeah. But the other thing I love
- 30:03Speaker 1: is that she returns from the bar with a glass
- 30:06Speaker 1: of wine. She's like, well, forget it, like, I do
- 30:07Speaker 1: not need to play this Irish countryside. Well, that's what's
- 30:11Speaker 1: so funny, is like, you know, this is like when
- 30:16Speaker 1: young people try to fit into something. Right, I'm drinking
- 30:22Speaker 1: guinness because I'm trying to fit into this dude's lifestyle
- 30:26Speaker 1: where she doesn't really like it.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Yes, so look at like.
- 30:30Speaker 1: The bigger picture here, if you step back, she does
- 30:34Speaker 1: not fit into this life absolutely, And I think over
- 30:37Speaker 1: the course of the conversation that she has with Colin
- 30:40Speaker 1: and his wife, she realizes how perfectly their lives do
- 30:43Speaker 1: fit together. And I think for her, I do think
- 30:47Speaker 1: there's a moment of heartbreak. I do think there are
- 30:50Speaker 1: moments where you can see like that ten years lying,
- 30:52Speaker 1: oh that was a gut punch, so well done.
- 30:56Speaker 2: But I also think that she just throughout this conversation, she's.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Like, oh, it was never me. It was never supposed
- 31:05Speaker 1: to be me. It doesn't make sense that it's me.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And that's why I like later when she's talking to
- 31:08Speaker 1: Annabelle in the car, which we'll talk about, she's not
- 31:12Speaker 1: breaking down. Yeah, as you're saying this heartbreak is the
- 31:16Speaker 1: wrong word. It's almost like a line between like being
- 31:21Speaker 1: disappointed and also, like you said, like relieved. Maybe maybe
- 31:28Speaker 1: not heartbreak.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 31:29Speaker 1: You know, there's always this question of like the one
- 31:33Speaker 1: that got away, right, You build them up in your
- 31:36Speaker 1: mind of like oh they were the greatest, and then
- 31:39Speaker 1: you revisit and you're like, what, No, that wasn't it.
- 31:43Speaker 2: So maybe there is some sort of realization here.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Well, the way I saw it is when she's watching
- 31:53Speaker 1: all that happen and she's putting all these puzzle pieces
- 31:55Speaker 1: together in her head, I see her revisiting those moments
- 32:01Speaker 1: in her past and viewing them through a different lens,
- 32:04Speaker 1: even revisiting earlier that day, Colin saying that ten years
- 32:07Speaker 1: line and changing the lens she puts on that and
- 32:11Speaker 1: going back to all the things that Colin, you know,
- 32:13Speaker 1: all those moments they had, and just changing the view
- 32:18Speaker 1: ever so slightly. I want to talk Before Colin arrives.
- 32:22Speaker 1: She has a memory of them in the bar and
- 32:24Speaker 1: he's singing to her, and she gets very emotional because
- 32:27Speaker 1: she's like, what are we doing? I'm leaving and moving on.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I have to finish off this job, like I'm not
- 32:32Speaker 1: from here, all of these things. I read that scene
- 32:36Speaker 1: when Colin kind of pushes her to acknowledge that she
- 32:41Speaker 1: loves him. To me, it's a little pushy em and
- 32:46Speaker 1: I can't decide if I'm framing that after what I've seen,
- 32:51Speaker 1: or if he's just really trying to get her to
- 32:54Speaker 1: be in the same place.
- 32:55Speaker 2: He is interesting because he's like, no, why is it
- 32:59Speaker 2: so hard? It's so hard because you love me? But
- 33:01Speaker 2: she he pulls it out of her.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Interesting, But I just can't decide if that is
- 33:07Speaker 1: a romantic memory or a little manipulative. Yeah, and someone's
- 33:11Speaker 1: gonna come after me for saying just just see it
- 33:13Speaker 1: for the romance that it is. One question for you
- 33:17Speaker 1: do you feel like Colin owes Chelsea more of an
- 33:21Speaker 1: explanation here or an apology even No.
- 33:25Speaker 2: No, isn't that interesting. She left, yeah years.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It's foolish of her to think that he was just
- 33:34Speaker 1: like still single and pining after her after ten years,
- 33:39Speaker 1: you know what I mean? So I hope she doesn't
- 33:41Speaker 1: go into the next dude thinking the same thing. Mmm,
- 33:44Speaker 1: like he's just gonna be waiting for her. She's just
- 33:46Speaker 1: going to be surprised, disappointed, really heartbroken again. Absolutely, No,
- 33:54Speaker 1: I don't think you think he owes her an apology. No,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I do not. Okay, I think she maybe is upset
- 34:01Speaker 1: with him at the beginning when his wife walks in,
- 34:05Speaker 1: but I think that changes very quickly, and I feel
- 34:09Speaker 1: exactly the same way you do. It's been ten years,
- 34:11Speaker 1: the idea that she left ten years ago, hasn't been
- 34:13Speaker 1: in contact and he's just sitting around waiting for her
- 34:16Speaker 1: to come back and hasn't moved on. He hasn't done
- 34:18Speaker 1: anything wrong, right, So no, I don't. Let's talk about
- 34:22Speaker 1: Chelsea and Nightly a little bit.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I love these scenes.
- 34:25Speaker 1: They're so good, they're funny, they're playful, the little.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Smile on his face and he's like, I'm gonna go
- 34:33Speaker 2: looking for her in her room.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean I feel like he's absolutely trolling her
- 34:38Speaker 1: a little bit, but he doesn't punch down like he's
- 34:41Speaker 1: not being no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I that must have
- 34:45Speaker 1: been really difficult to write, either like the original author
- 34:48Speaker 1: or the adaptation, and hard to play as an actor
- 34:52Speaker 1: because it's a fine line. You know, you want to
- 34:58Speaker 1: make the viewers like root for you, right, because I
- 35:02Speaker 1: right now I'm rooting absolutely. So it's they're doing it
- 35:09Speaker 1: nicely in my yeah, because she and Knightley are in
- 35:11Speaker 1: very different places, Like you can absolutely see how Nightly
- 35:15Speaker 1: gets to be, like gets to the place of having feelings,
- 35:19Speaker 1: but Chelsea is still so much living in the past.
- 35:23Speaker 1: He's not even on her radar romantically. Right.
- 35:26Speaker 2: I want to call some things I like about the
- 35:27Speaker 2: Chelsea and Nightly storyline.
- 35:29Speaker 1: First, I love that we get their text on screen
- 35:31Speaker 1: thank you, because they text so much I need I
- 35:34Speaker 1: need it up on the screen, not just on their phone.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Thank you very much.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Yep. His Instagram stalking detour to Annabel's page.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Love that. And then I love that he says out
- 35:44Speaker 2: loud like she's gonna see it, thank you. This is
- 35:47Speaker 2: just like, this not gonna.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Land with everybody. Not everybody's gonna know what he's talking about.
- 35:51Speaker 1: But that is a very real thought to have when
- 35:53Speaker 1: you are looking at someone's Instagram page and then annabel
- 35:57Speaker 1: later is like, you know, work, guy's been looking at
- 35:59Speaker 1: my story. Please let's explain this, because I don't know
- 36:02Speaker 1: if everybody knows this. I know, definitely know my husband
- 36:04Speaker 1: is not aware of this. Oh sure Instagram. I don't
- 36:06Speaker 1: even know if he's aware of Instagram stories. Same if
- 36:11Speaker 1: you look at somebody's Instagram stories, the person you're looking
- 36:17Speaker 1: at can see who looked at their stories. Yes, so
- 36:20Speaker 1: if say we are girls gone Hallmark on Instagram, we
- 36:23Speaker 1: can see you guys looking at our stories. Now that's
- 36:27Speaker 1: that's not a big deal on our end. But if
- 36:31Speaker 1: it's my personal account and I see somebody, somebody random
- 36:35Speaker 1: looking at my stories who I don't engage with or
- 36:38Speaker 1: maybe am not a follower, like, that's real, sussy, Yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 1: it's happening here, absolutely, So yes, I love that they
- 36:46Speaker 1: acknowledged it. You know, last week I told you I
- 36:49Speaker 1: love that he calls her Martin. I love that he
- 36:51Speaker 1: calls Annabelle little Martin. So it's a great little note
- 36:54Speaker 1: like when he tells her she looks hot, but I
- 36:56Speaker 1: also like he's like, what's your plan if it works out?
- 37:00Speaker 1: And that kind of like sends her into a little
- 37:01Speaker 1: bit of a panic. Pre date towards the end of
- 37:05Speaker 1: the episode, though, we get like this late night booty
- 37:08Speaker 1: call text. Technically they're talking about work, but it's the
- 37:13Speaker 1: middle of the night, and then they FaceTime and they
- 37:16Speaker 1: have this like what about Bob movie banter? And I
- 37:20Speaker 1: love that The final button on Nightly is him on
- 37:22Speaker 1: a run listening to her presentation, just doing what she's
- 37:26Speaker 1: been asking him to do. Okay, I have so many
- 37:28Speaker 1: thoughts here. The first the first note is Annabel had
- 37:35Speaker 1: told Chelsea like, oh, I loved how your face lit
- 37:37Speaker 1: up when you saw Colin, right, And then you see
- 37:41Speaker 1: Annabel like looking at Chelsea facetiming Nightly and also seen
- 37:49Speaker 1: like her face kind of lit up, right, and she's
- 37:52Speaker 1: all smiley about it. Annabel Annabel is yeah, exactly. And
- 37:57Speaker 1: then the next note I have about him listening. Yes,
- 38:03Speaker 1: he's doing what she asked him to do, but now
- 38:06Speaker 1: I'm wondering, like does he just want to feel like
- 38:09Speaker 1: close and connected to her? So like he's he's on
- 38:12Speaker 1: a run and he just wants to like listen to
- 38:15Speaker 1: her voice in his ears. Yeah, you know, it's kind
- 38:19Speaker 1: of and you gotta smile. Yeah. You could take it
- 38:23Speaker 1: at face value, like, oh, look he's doing when he
- 38:25Speaker 1: was asked and preparing for the pitch or whatever, or
- 38:31Speaker 1: you could look at it like.
- 38:32Speaker 2: He just wants to hear her voice more sure.
- 38:35Speaker 1: So, yeah, I like it. I got a lot.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Also, I've never seen what about Bob?
- 38:39Speaker 1: Have you?
- 38:40Speaker 2: Yes? And I don't like it? Is that Bill Murray? Yes?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, No, I've never seen it. And Bill Mary plays
- 38:46Speaker 1: Bob okay, who's quite annoying. Okay, so we're moving on.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Chelsea and Annabel have a debrief in the car.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Love it. This feels very real, Like.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Over dinner, She's like, there was no food in that bar,
- 39:00Speaker 1: and Chelsea says, she said, peace Collins exactly where he's
- 39:03Speaker 1: meant to be. I believe her that she feels that way.
- 39:06Speaker 1: But Annabel's like, look, I saw something in you. Please
- 39:09Speaker 1: do not close yourself off to the idea of love completely.
- 39:12Speaker 1: And Chelsea's like, yeah, let's go, let's go see Sebastian
- 39:16Speaker 1: and she has already reached out to him. And he
- 39:19Speaker 1: emails back and he's like, when can I see you?
- 39:21Speaker 2: And so they're off to Paris.
- 39:22Speaker 1: How far is that travel from like Ireland to Paris?
- 39:25Speaker 2: Well, Ireland's and island, so well, how did they get there? Before?
- 39:29Speaker 2: You gotta fly? You gotta fly?
- 39:31Speaker 1: Okay? I want to talk a little bit about book
- 39:34Speaker 1: to movie comparison and also Annabel and Ducklan here. Let's
- 39:38Speaker 1: do it look I personally feel when we're comparing the
- 39:41Speaker 1: book to the series, not the movie. When we're comparing
- 39:44Speaker 1: the two, I am I think this series is faithful
- 39:48Speaker 1: to the story that was being told in the book
- 39:51Speaker 1: without being faithful to every individual detail.
- 39:54Speaker 2: And I really love the changes that we made.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Like you said, bringing Annabell in is so smart. It
- 40:00Speaker 1: makes the show so much richer. And in addition to that,
- 40:04Speaker 1: I love that Annabel is getting a little bit of
- 40:07Speaker 1: her own storyline here. We have a little bit of
- 40:10Speaker 1: her backstory. Soccer so important to her. She had this
- 40:13Speaker 1: career ending soccer injury. I like that we're still kind
- 40:16Speaker 1: of circling around that. She also is trying to figure
- 40:19Speaker 1: out her identity moving forward, although she's in grad school.
- 40:22Speaker 1: She has this fun little sortation with declan the bartender.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I don't I don't know if that's gonna go anywhere.
- 40:29Speaker 1: But she's not simply serving as a sounding board for Chelsea.
- 40:35Speaker 1: She's getting a little bit of her own moment here, right.
- 40:38Speaker 2: I love it too.
- 40:41Speaker 1: When we reviewed the book, a lot of people there's
- 40:44Speaker 1: a fun scene in the book with pole dancing in Ireland.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Obviously that did not happen, like Chelsea has taken the
- 40:50Speaker 1: place of all of those like little fun not Chelsea.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Annabel has taken the place of all of those moments
- 40:55Speaker 1: with her little zingers. There's also a running bit when
- 40:59Speaker 1: Chelsea and Nightly or facetiming from Ireland. Chelsea's wearing like
- 41:04Speaker 1: lamb pajamas or some sort of like animal pajama and
- 41:08Speaker 1: it becomes like a bit throughout that doesn't exist. But
- 41:14Speaker 1: very curious if people are bothered by the changes in
- 41:17Speaker 1: the script. The Colin storyline is very similar. There's some
- 41:22Speaker 1: slight adjustments. Like in the book, she and Colin are
- 41:27Speaker 1: like halfway through their dinner and the wife comes like
- 41:29Speaker 1: storming in, like you're turning with the kid's buddy, and
- 41:32Speaker 1: it's a very different vibe.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Yeah, let us know what you think.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm dying to know.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 41:38Speaker 1: In our Facebook group somebody was saying like they never
- 41:41Speaker 1: read the book prior to watching the movie because it's
- 41:46Speaker 1: always so different, And while I agree, I had just responded.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I was like, you and I are kind of just
- 41:53Speaker 1: letting this live in its own little experience. I don't
- 41:58Speaker 1: think people are going to be disappointed. It's it's a
- 42:01Speaker 1: really good series so far. So far, what we've seen
- 42:04Speaker 1: absolutely well. That is a wrap on our discussion of
- 42:07Speaker 1: Paris is always a good idea. Episode two. We'd love
- 42:10Speaker 1: to hear from you hello at Girls Gone Hallmark dot
- 42:12Speaker 1: com if you have thoughts on this series, and we'll
