- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the UGC Industry Podcast, the show that brings creators, brands, and everyone building the UGC space into one conversation.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I'm Brandon Heen, your host, and each week I sit down with everyone who is building this industry, from the creators landing brand deals to the founders and agencies behind them.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Let's get into it.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: On this episode, we have Henry Pan.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Now, Henry, you are still in college and yet you are running the UGC campaigns for some of the biggest companies in the space.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: And I've actually worked on a campaign with you guys, and your campaigns are always very successful.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: What makes you guys be able to have such successful campaigns and earn such high views compared to a typical UGC agency that doesn't get those kind of results?
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, I would say our defining characteristic uh in our agency is that we care so much about our creators.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Our creators uh are top of mind always.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: We try to provide the best experience for creators and we also try to pay our creators top market.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: It doesn't matter if they're just starting out or they're a very experienced creator.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: We try to give everyone an equal experience and make them into absolute killers for absolutely free because they're in our agency.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: How do you find these creators first off?
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: We have a lot of connections inside uh mentorships and stuff like that.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: But honestly, as we've grown and just gotten better, we just have very, very strong reputation in the space now.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: So we have a lot of creators just referring their friends and other creators into the program and they're all very botted.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and what's cool about you guys is you're able to take uh a very beginner creator and, like you said, turn them into someone who can get a bunch of views because, guys, what they specialize in is Canvas UGC.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: The way that you really make the big bucks with Canvas UGC is by getting view bonuses.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And um, I did a campaign with them and and just the numbers from the team were crazy.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So, how do you take someone from a complete beginner and make them into someone who can get a million views on a video?
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: I think there's a couple things.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: Number one, we have a very, very dedicated coaching team and coaching staff right now.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Uh, our coaches, we pay them possibly like the best in the market right now because we want them to provide the best quality service to our creators.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: We have them like working at least 25, 30 hours a week for creator management, turning our creators into the best, like giving them one-on-one coaching calls.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: We have office hours nearly every single day where coaches are just talking with creators, giving them advice.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: On top of that, one of the founders, Richard, has created a full five or six hour complete A-Z UGC course for Canvas UGC, not only on just how to get deals and everything like that, but also just how to create the highest quality UGC video.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So, how did you get linked up with this agency?
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: I've been creating for around 18 months now.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I started my uh Instagram out of high school.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I just graduated high school and started making personal brand content.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: I hopped on a couple of UGC deals, and that's how I got familiarized in the space.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: What were your first UGC deals?
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Because if that was a year and a half ago, that was really early in the UGC space.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: It was really early in the game.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: I caught the wave at the perfect amount.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: So honestly, like shout out Mean Oli and the Content Academy, because that was the first mentorship I joined.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: I distinctly remember I spent all my money at the time and I was like a broke high schooler.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: I had$700 in my banking account.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I spent it all on Content Academy, and I was just trying to exist.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: And I got the opportunity to work with Cluley, which I think after Turbo learned, they were the next people that were on this UGC wave and they kind of reset the market, if you can believe it.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: I remember they came out and they was just paying$35 a video, and that was like crazy for Canvas UGC a year ago.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: So I hopped on that deal and I was able to learn a lot from the Cluley team and the Cluley staff, and like there's so many great players that have come out of that organization.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so so you say like$35 a post is really high for Canvas UGC.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Now, a lot of UGC creators who not may not be as familiar, they'd be like, Oh, I would never make a video for$30 a post.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: What makes this kind of UGC different and so lucrative?
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: So if we're comparing it to traditional one-off UGC, you don't need to be that creative.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: And that sounds like a bad thing, but it honestly, for a lot of these creators, it really is a good thing because when you're offered a one-off deal, maybe you have a creative block and you have to spend like a lot of time and then you send it into the brand and like this is not good enough.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna pay you the$200,$300 that this is worth, right?
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: The thing is with Canvas UGC, if it is a good Canvas UGC campaign, we'll provide you the scripts, we'll provide you the instructions, we'll provide you the coaching so that you can immediately start sending in videos and making money.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And on top of that, you mentioned view bonuses earlier.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Like our view bonuses right now with our current campaign go up to$10,000.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: $10,000 for one video?
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: $10,000 for one video.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: When we actually had a bonus, we had a bounty structure in place just two weeks ago.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: We gave out$55,000 in bounty prizes.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: The top earner from that campaign or that like bounty period, he got paid$20,000 for one video.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: What?
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: And he didn't even like he didn't dude, he didn't even script it at all.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: He didn't even like, it was just like, you know, he just followed the instructions from the brief, made it, and$20,000 in the biggest.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: So it was a contest to see who it was a contest to see who could get the highest views with the specific format.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: So yeah, we paid out$55,000.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't think anyone's ever paid out that much in UGC before, like for something like this.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: That's absolutely ridiculous.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: So, what's like the typical avatar of people that are in your guys' agency?
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: So these are they college students?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: What does that look like?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: When we were just starting out the agency, I would say it was a lot more in the post-grad space, 24, 25, 26-year-old.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: We had a couple of college students.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: I would say the main reason for that is because the mentorships we were pulling from just uh had a lot more of like people like that were in the nine to five environment already and doing UGC as a side hustle.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: But like the people I used to work with, you know, back when UGC was really starting were were college students, like 18 years old, 19 years old, like for these study tools and for the traditional like kind of tech UGC.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: You you can get into this stuff without necessarily a lot of content experience.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: And I mean, five to 10K a month for a college student is amazing.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's absolutely ridiculous.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: I think like there's a 15-year-old in our program right now.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: What I wish I was joking.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: She's so talented.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: And she's already been in the UGC space for at least six months.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: I think she did close to 10K last month.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Can you imagine?
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: I don't know how what her parents do, but can you be imagined being 15 years old and making more than your parents?
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I don't even know because when I was 15 years old, bro, I genuinely didn't have brain cells, bro.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: There's no way I could have even fathomed making money.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: I was like, dude, I got$20 right now.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Like I'm living it.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, guys, this is so crazy.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: So I'm obviously older than a lot of people in the UGC space, being 31.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: When I was 17, I was working at a dollar store for$7.50 an hour.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: No, like that's tough though.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: That's tough.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: I respect the grind.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: A$4 shift for$25.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Dude, what?
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: That's that's like half of a Hicksfield video right there.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: So you're in college.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Do other people in college know about UGC or like what do your peers do for money?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: And like what did what is their perspective on this?
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: Dude, I would say there's still such a gap in the market because I'll I will say this 100%.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Like, the people want college-age students for UGC, especially like these B2C tech apps, their primary consumer is going to be college students.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: They want people that look like the people that they're trying to sell to to be making these videos.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: So college students have such an advantage in UGC.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: And there's a second advantage there as well.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: It's that as a college-age student, we just spend more time on the internet.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: We understand social media fundamentally better than like a lot of other people.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: No offense, dude.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: But you didn't grow up with Instagram reels necessarily.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: I think like college students are perfect for UGC.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: When I'm on my college campus, right, I have a couple friends that do UGC.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: I put them on, and one of my friends, he's doing very, very well with Launch Point right now.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: He's like their top creator.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: He's one out of two or three people I know that do UGC at my school.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I think right now the mindset about it is like, oh bro, it's not sustainable.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: This is a little silly.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: I don't want to be seen making videos like by my college peers.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: And at the end of the day, bro, it's like, oh, you make like a cringy video, bro.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: I think Adam made$10,000 last month.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Like it's ridiculous.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: What are other people in college doing for money these days?
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: One of my friends works at Abercrombie.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Making making making like$14.50, making like$14.50 an hour.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: And like I know like some one of my friends works at like um a smoothie place.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: And it's like I can respect them because like I think in some ways, in some ways, like I think they also like do it because they enjoy what they do.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: They don't think they would enjoy UGC that much.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And I also think like I enjoy what I do.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: I'm just blessed to have something I enjoy doing that, I get paid for.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: That's amazing.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So okay, you were you were on um Cluley, which is one of the OGs in the UGC space.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Then what happened from there?
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I was on Cluli, and then I was also on this other app called Gleam at the same time where I was able to work with some even crazier um people.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And that was my first time in the B2C like consumer app space.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: And so I lot learned a lot more about UGC.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: This was like two months later, I had made like$3,000, which was like nothing crazy.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Definitely by today's standards, nothing crazy.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: But I mean, like it was created me.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, I was just traveling to China.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: So I started in the summer, and then in August, I traveled to China the entire month.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: And they don't allow you to post on Instagram in China.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, wait, everything's blocked.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: Everything's blocked.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I was traveling to visit family in China, and I was like, Yeah, guys, I'm gonna be firewalled, so I can't even make content for y'all.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And they're like, that's okay, just pause it and resume it.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: While I was in China, Gleam decided to like pause their UGC program.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: And then when I came back, I was like, hey, let's go, let's start ripping.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: But I think at that point, and this is nothing wrong with Kluy.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: I just think that the organization was changing and the structures were like shifting up.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And when I came back to the organization, I just didn't really feel like this was something that I wanted to invest time into as like a creator.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: And at the same time, I definitely think I had a different mindset back then.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: I didn't care that much about making money.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: I was just starting my first year of college.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: And I was like, yo, let me just try being a college student first.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Let me like be a creator, focus on the personal brand, and try being a college student.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: I'm fortunate enough to have my parents help pay for college.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: I I don't need to do anything.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: I got like the dining plan, like, I don't need to put food on my plate.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, go have fun.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: 100%.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: So I took a break.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: I took a break and then we can speed, we can speed forward.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: I did uh run an info offer doing personal brand coaching for a while.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: How did you learn how to do personal brand stuff?
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that's actually interesting.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: I joined Mino's Content Academy.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: He was such a great mentor to me, still is.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: I would consider like just a really, really important like mentor to me in my life right now.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: And I realized that I was really, really good at this.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: Like I was really passionate about talking about content.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: A lot of people are like, oh, bro, it makes content about content.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: You guys don't understand.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: You talk about UGC all the time, bro.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: It's like this is this is what I was passionate about.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: You know, I was like able to help people already in this space.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: I was already naturally making some videos about content.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: And eventually I was like, hey, I kind of want to run something up again.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I kind of want to build something again.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: I just saw people being successful, and all I had was my personal brand, but I didn't really have actual metrics to show for it.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: And so I was like, hey, let me try running this personal brand offer.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: I ran it up, got a couple clients, fulfilled on those clients, and I think I did a pretty decent job.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: But at the end of the day, I just don't think I actually wanted to run an info offer.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: There's like a bunch of different things.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Owning a business is hard.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Like running a business is really hard.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: And I was like 18 years old.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: I was like trying to study for finals and trying to close clients.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: And my mental health was just like, yeah.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: So I closed it down.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: I took a break for a while.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: I took a break for like two months and then I reached out.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: Richard hit me up just to catch up.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: So Richard's the owner of your agency.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: So context, I don't know if like this was made clear.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: So Richard and the other guy, Andrew Shin, are the founders of the agency.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: And what I do is I'm I'm like a creator manager, but I'm also a content strategist.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: I help the coaches execute on how to take care of the creators in the best way, how to actually make sure they go viral.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: And I also create the formats uh that we use to go viral.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: So it's a creative strategy.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Richard and I have been friends for around six months at that point.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: We met through Content Academy.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: He was just calling me to catch up and I was like, hey, like, okay, I'm just looking to do something for the summer just for fun, just to like make some money so I can travel around.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: He's like, hey, wait, like I have a role for you.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Like, we're trying to expand and we're trying to scale.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: So I joined up inside the organization.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Then, like, within the month, I got pushed up to content strategists because we were scaling the agency very rapidly.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: And so then I started managing the content strategy for all of our campaigns and coming up with creative formats for that.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, guys, just for some context.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: So I I've been on probably 30 to 50 organic UGC campaigns, right?
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Signing up on platforms like Sideships and such like that.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And typically what happens when you join a campaign, uh, they basically send you a Google doc with a little bit about the product and they say, all right, go make some videos.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: And you're pretty much on your own.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: You're not necessarily even talking to the company that much at all.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: They may not even give you any ideas.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: They're just like, hey, make videos for us.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: When you when you join their agency, not only do they have training, but they have very specific briefs, sample videos, and then coaching the campaigns that they're running to teach you how to make high-performing videos for the specific products that that you're promoting.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: And this is one of the reasons why they get so many views and have such good performance on their campaigns.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: What would you say are some of the key characteristics of a good UGC creator versus versus one who doesn't end up performing?
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: We actually have a term for the bad creators that don't end up performing.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: We call them base collectors.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: And so what a base collector is in Canvas UGC, you have a base pay and then you also have your view incentive bonuses.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: So base collectors are people that just want to join programs and collect the minimum amount.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: They want to just, hey, let me have my video hit the view minimum.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: I can get my$30,$40,$50, and just collect that throughout the month.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: Because the reality is you could just collect base pay and you could get up to$5K a month within a month or two.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Having no skills at all.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: You can just have your hand out and start making$5K a month.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: And here's the thing you can do that, and then you know, the agency will wake up or the company will wake up and your ass is gonna get booted out pretty easily.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: And so base collectors, it's super easy to spot them.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: It's super easy to spot them because we just see people that aren't actually trying to learn, like they're not bought into the campaign, they don't have a lot of effort into their videos.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: It's just like we spot it like within a week and then we just cut them from the program.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: We don't even need to give them an excuse.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: We're just like, you're not a good fit for us.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: The opposite of that is like our best creators.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: And so I'll give you an example of like just like some of the best creators we've seen in the program.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: It's people that see like the the value that we provide.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: It's people that are like obviously they're in there why because we pay a$50 base to$3 CPM as of right now, one of the best deals on the market.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: But it's also because they they see the coaching in there, they see the course in there, they see just the amount of care that we put into giving them the strategy and the briefs, and they try to take that and like actually absorb as much relationship.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: We seriously give them enough coaching and abilities to be counted as one of the top mentorship games in the business.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so from a tactical perspective, what are some tactical tips that make a UGC video go from let's break this up.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Let like what's a UGC video that let gets less than a thousand views?
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Because because on a lot of these campaigns, if you don't get a thousand views, you you don't get paid out.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: So someone who says they're stuck in two to three hundred view jail, what are they doing?
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: For you number one, I will say if your UGC campaign is not giving you good enough advice, good enough instruction on how to make the videos, one of our goals as an agency is to really just change the game as a whole, change the market.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: Like one of my goals as like a content strategist for all of the campaigns I manage is to make it so that other people see what they have to go up against and start having to change their philosophies to be creator first.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Because there's so many campaigns out there.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, as you said, like just dump their creators off and say, hey, like just figure it out.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: As creators, like you guys honestly shouldn't have to go through that.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: But if you are in one of those campaigns, here's a piece of advice that I would offer to just take your videos from like 200, 300 views to like a thousand views, at least 2,000 views.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Number one mistake I see in creators is just terrible lighting.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Terrible lighting.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: We're just gonna go through easy fixes, easiest fix.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: I bring light on Amazon, freaking put it in front of your face, just turn it on, and it will 10x your video quality.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Second thing I would say, and this is a little bit harder, is your delivery in your videos.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: I think your delivery matters so much as a creator because you guys have to realize that you're selling something.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: You're selling that you are actually using this product, you're selling your personality, your authenticity inside this video.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: So many people, even if they're given the scripts, they're given the scripts without instruction and they're just like, okay, like I'm just gonna read this and it has to go viral, right?
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: That's completely incorrect.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so by delivery, he's basically talking about the tone or the way you sound.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And and the challenge is yes, you are selling something.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: You have to be sounding like you're not selling something.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: The whole point of organic UGC is it's supposed to feel like a real person giving a recommendation to a friend.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: So this is honestly one of the hardest things that new UGC creators deal with is I mean, if you're new, go record a video right now and listen to how you sound on camera.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be like, Yeah, exactly.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be it's gonna be it's gonna be bad.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be bad.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: So, how do you how do you coach someone on tonality?
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: This is one of our hardest problems to figure out as coaches because you tell someone like, hey, you need to be more expressive, right?
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: And they'll come in monotone on the first take.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: They'll be like, um, you know, let's take Higgs field for example.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, this is why you should use Higgsfield AI because it's really, really good.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: And then you say, like, yo, I need you to have more tonality, more expression as a coach, right?
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: And then they come in, it's like, yo, use Higgs field AI.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: It's just completely over the top and it's completely unbelievable.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: So, how can you actually coach them to find the right medium?
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: The best that way that we found was that like we give them specific scenarios and mindsets to put themselves in.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: So, as a content strategist, when I'm making these briefs and I'm writing out the instructions for creators, I write like specific feelings or emotions or scenarios that like we kind of just have creators place themselves in that mindset.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: For example, like one of the campaigns I'm running is about like an eco-friendly product.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: It's anti-AI, anti-like uh, like basically waste pollution, and a bunch of different things.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: And so it's supposed to be very eco-friendly centered.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: And the delivery on those videos need to be almost like you need to be angry about this issue and not just angry about the issue, but you need to be angry that not enough people are knowing about this.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: And so I try to give them a very descriptive scenario that they can place themselves in.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Another example is that we were doing UGC for an app, and one of our formats was talking about like hating men, like getting over a breakup and getting back at your man for like being a shitty man and like, you know, like you, you there's like a lot of girl power stuff.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: And so we literally just had our girl creators imagine their exes and imagine just getting mad at their exes, and they're like, use that anger in your tonality.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: And so I would say you gotta really show, not tell.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: You can't just say, like, I need this, like, I need this more up.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: You need to say, like, yo, you're in this specific situation, act on it now.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I I really like that because as a UGC creator, you're basically an actor.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: One video you can be promoting a fitness product, one video you can be promoting a study tool as a student.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: The next one you could be, I don't know, a plumber promoting a plumber product.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Possibly, yeah.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Anything.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, cool.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: No, that's a really good tip for UGC creators.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: And then like to take it up a level as being a content strategist, how do you come up with the strategies for these campaigns?
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: I feel like the game has been leaked to a certain extent.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Everyone's aware of this in the personal branding space as well.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: Everyone's aware of it.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Just take proven concepts, proven formats, and then just like put them into put them into freaking like ChatGPT and have it write out a different script or something for you.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: See like an artist and all that bullshit.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: That's like 50% of our content strategy.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: We look at all of our competitors in the niche, we look at every single person in adjacent niches.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: For example, for Higgsfield, we are like an AI tech tool.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: So we look at the AI tech niche.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: We also look at the side hustle niche.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Because people use Higgs field to make money.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: So we're like, hey, like, let's see what's going on in the side, like in like kind of the side hustle niche, like what people are talking about.
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: And we take those winning videos, we take the proven videos.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: But the real, real good UGC programs are innovators.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: They go from zero to one on formats, they come up with new things because first mover's advantage in content is everything.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Regardless if it's just, you know, UGC campaigns or you know, just any sort of like ad format or like something on the personal brand.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: First movers advantage is absolutely everything.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there was actually this study done by this marketer, Neil Patel.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: They they studied a hundred videos that had over a hundred thousand views, and there was one single common denominator in all of those videos.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: It was a unique concept or like the first time it was spoken out in that video.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: What you'll hear all the time online is go look at what other people are doing in your niche to see how to make a good content.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: But in reality, that'll get you good content.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: But to go over the moon, you gotta be the the first one innovating and doing something that everyone hasn't seen before.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: If you want to build the second best UGC program then in your niche, then yeah, like you're gonna steal other people's content.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah but realistically, distribution is everything in this game.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: And honestly, the first distributor is always gonna win.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: If you're creating another learning tool, you're gonna have to compete with a company like Turbo.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: And like it doesn't matter if you copy all their content, they're gonna reach everyone else first.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: They're gonna like just they're gonna just beat you out every single time.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Quick interruption here.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: This video is brought to you by RTech, the all-in-one platform for UGC creators.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: So, as a UGC creators, there are really three things you need.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: One is a suite of tools to make you more efficient from editing, tracking your deals, tracking your finances so that you're not hopping around from a million different apps.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Two, the knowledge and coaching and training from people who've already been there and done that.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: And then three, access to deals.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: RTEC provides you all three of those and and was built by some of the OGs from the UGC space who understand everything that UGC creators know what they need to be successful.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: You can go hop on and try it now for free.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Just click the link below.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: So, how do you go about trying to find those unique, innovative one-of-one concepts?
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: There's so many ways to look at it, but I think the way we look at it right now is that creators really need simple concepts to execute on.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: It's really easy to come up with something that's novel and difficult.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: And let's be let's be clear here novelty does not mean it's better.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: You can you can be completely novel and your video still sucks.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: But as a video does get more complex, it can lead to better curiosity being formed and all these things.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: But complex videos are hard for the standard UDC to create or create.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: It's really hard to communicate it and it's really hard to coach it.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: And what do you mean by a simple video versus a complex video?
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I can give you an example.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: I would say a simple video we have right now, we have creators literally just say like one line.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: We have like the creators say a hook, and then we literally have creators go into a workflow, like a demo of the product.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: A demonstration of the product.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: And so all they need to do is say one line and a demonstration of the product.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: And so that's extremely simple, extremely simple to execute on, right?
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: And it's ridiculous, right?
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: They're getting paid$50 for this.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: It's still extremely simple to execute on.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Versus, I came up with another format that I had creators film, they had to do a clone version of themselves.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: So I don't know if you guys can put this up on the screen and post, but like uh they basically had to film a clone format said who makes more money.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: And so they had one version of them on this side and another version of them on this side.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: And I wrote in an entire script with different shot lists where they had to film at different angles, and those videos do consistently well as well.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: However, that video takes two to three hours to execute on and you can still get it wrong versus the other video, just say one line and you go for it.
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: But the second video, that's where you're innovating.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: That's like where concepts are being made.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: And so I can I can give you a great example of something that we kind of innovated, and I'm sure like everyone in the canvas UGC space knows this format now.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: We saw this creator popping off with talking about a random topic, right?
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: And he has the freaking spinny wheel laptop thing next to him.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: And so when I saw that, I was like, this is so like this is so easy.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Like, this is so easy to see.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Like I saw it immediately clearly making money with a random method, right?
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: And so that's your text that instead of speaking on a random topic, you make money with a random method.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: And we just vibe coded a a wheel spinner website for it, and we had creators just rip that.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: And so that's the perfect format because creators don't need to do anything, they just need to hold the laptop up to the screen and just press the spinny button.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, then they go to the demonstration.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: So extremely simple for people to to rip about, yet it's so novel.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Now it's not novel anymore.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Like we're talking about this like a month later, it's been it's been cooked.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: But it was so novel at the time that like first creator to do it got two million views.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: Dang.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like it's insane.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: See how much did they make on that video then?
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: I think two million.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: I think we pay them out five K.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: What five K for that video?
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, guys, five million dollars.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: Or sorry.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: Five million, five, five for two million view videos.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Just start doing UGC, guys.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Five million dollars.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Five thousand dollars for a two million view video.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Wow, that's crazy.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: So, where do you guys want to wanna take the agency from here?
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Honestly, like I'm not in charge of our client acquisition.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Um, but our philosophy right now is we're trying to bridge the gap between going from tech UGC to start working with some real, real big companies.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: We do want to be one of the premier agencies for like Fortune 500 companies.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: I think that's the goal at the end of the day.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, what kind of companies?
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Honestly, like anything, bro.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I mean, like anything that's B2C and like a real recognizable name brand.
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: We're trying to like land some whales.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: I'll say right now, it is hard to jump from startups to established companies.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: I think it's also that Fortune 500 companies are slow to the curve.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: I just think that people are gonna hop on this UGC train in within the next year that are like real, real big name brands because people are slowly waking up to it, right?
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: And that means bigger budgets, more money coming into UGC.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: And the creators who start now and actually get trained on how to be good, they're already gonna be ahead of the game when these massive companies come into the space.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: They're not gonna be starting from ground zero.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Give you an example.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: So uh you guys know I used to work at Cisco, they're like the 65th biggest company, and um, they're doing UGC right now.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: I was having conversations with them about wanting me to do UGC because they have the same problem where the engineers who actually know the product, they're scared to get on camera.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: Even the salespeople, they may be very per persuasive and charismatic in person, but you put a camera in their face and everything changes.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: People don't understand this game.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: They don't understand the game at all.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: So so gaining the skill of being able to talk on camera and sound natural is something that's gonna keep paying dividends for for so many years to come and it's it's still so early.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and like just to provide another story about that, right?
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: Like, we did technically work together on another campaign inside the agency that well, like unfortunately we can't really like talk about who we were working for or anything like that, but we were working together on that campaign.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: You were hand selected by the company to work for us on this campaign, right?
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Because they're a big company and they were just trying to get into this UGC space.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: They had no idea who to hire, but they hired like five of those people that were inside that campaign are absolute killers, just like some of the best UGC creators in the game.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: And they knew that, but like that's all they knew.
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: And that's because you guys have been in the space.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Like, how long have you been doing UGC?
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Uh this is my six months.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Six months, right?
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Like, but like in UGC terms, that's a long ass time.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's a long ass time.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: So they were like, Yeah, we want some absolute killers.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: And like, I think that's why you really have to like when you want to work with these big brands, like uh as a UGC canvas creator, you guys really are gonna have to like get in this game early because like you know, everyone's gonna be fighting for them.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and like guys, six months is considered a long time in UGC.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: Imagine you're you're in a regular job.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: You have to go a year or two before you get a promotion.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: You get a job right out of college, you're making 70k.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: Maybe a year later, you get what, a 5% promotion?
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: You can accelerate so fast in UGC because it's so new.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the longer you wait, the more people that are gonna be in, and and you know, the further behind you're gonna be.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: When I look at myself, I feel like I'm still moving slow, but I realize, dude, we've only been I've been only working in the agency for five months, and we've already scaled to this point, and like I have no idea what plan on continuing and staying here.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: So it's just like, dude, what is this gonna be like in a year?
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Like where are we gonna be?
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: So, what are your personal goals with the with the EGC space?
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: How do you want to grow?
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: I would say this is gonna sound kind of crazy, but I still don't think I'm that much of a money-motivated person.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: I'll be very like straight up.
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: I could be making probably five, six times more as a creator, 100%.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: Like just spamming videos.
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: Like, I know, I yeah, I knew if I was working on my own campaign, I would be crushing and I'd be bringing home like at least like 30k a month.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: And so why am I not doing that?
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Well, number one is I'm blessed by parents that care about my education.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: I'll put it like that.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: And so, like, you know, they really want me to finish out college.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: And for me, I really know that I'm trying to finish college quickly.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: Here's the thing about being a UGC creator you guys have to use it well, you need to leverage it.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm gonna go on a little bit of a rant here.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: So hold up, hold up.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: But like, you know, UGC creators, and this is to people that already are in this game, you guys can make$10,000 a month.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: But think about it,$10,000 a month, that's$120,000 a year.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: After tax, after taxes expenses, like what,$80K, 90, like$80K,$70K, right?
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: Like you guys have to think about like what you're really trying to do this for.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: Are you really trying to do this as your full-time career?
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: Are you trying to like make your FU money off of UGC?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: You have to think like, yo, how much money do I really need to make to make my FU money?
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: For me, that number is like in the millions.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: You know how many hundred K years you need to have to get a million?
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: If you're making a hundred K gross or a hundred K net profit every single year, which is like 150k gross.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 150k gross.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Without investing, you need to do that 10 times in a row, right?
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's assuming you're not growing or anything, but like you know, it's just insane.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: Like plus your life expense.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: You'll never you'll never get there.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: You want like that's that's just not enough.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: And so even even 30k a month, I don't know where you're at in your total like UGC revenue, but the way I see it is like I would rather build way better skills at this point in my life where like, yes, 30k a month in college is really, really nice.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: However, if I can Tough life, tough life.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: If I if I can learn skills, if I can learn skills that take me beyond that after I graduate college, then I will really be set because at that point I know I can just really go far with it.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Um so what are those million dollar skills?
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Uh when I joined good marketing, and this is why I'm so blessed to be in the position I am, because Richard and Andrew are like biggest influences in my life.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: I know when I look back on like my entire career when I was like when I'm freaking like 40 years old or something, you know, I know like that those two people in my life will be like absolutely pivotal, right?
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: And so like inside the organization, I've just become such a better leader, such a better manager, such a better communicator, right?
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, I knew I came in with a lot of creative talent and a lot of creative ability, but what I was not good at was simple things, showing up on time, being a good manager, communicating my ideas effectively to people.
- 30:12SPEAKER_01: That's turned me into a better content creator as well.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: So those skills, learning how to work with people and manage people are like already like just high value skills, no matter where you are.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Leadership skills are gonna take you extremely far in life.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: But in terms of these UGC creators, a lot of people, five to 10K a month could change their life.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: 30K a month will change their family tree.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: So how does a UGC creator who's stuck at five to 10K a month, which you can get to through pure hustle, how do they ascend to even beyond that?
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think there's two primary paths.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: Number one, you become like a better creator, you become more efficient in your systems, you take on better deals.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: Like you leverage the deals you already have and try to get pay raises inside those deals, or you go to different deals and you say, Hey, like pay me more, and I'm gonna take on like six different deals, and like like I I'm like gonna understand content more and like really just like rip with seven, seven or eight different deals, right?
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: And that's how you're gonna scale.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: But at a certain point, even then, you're gonna cap out at thirty or forty thousand dollars.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: I really don't think I've seen a creator that was able to consistently do like fifty thousand dollars a month doing this stuff.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: And so the second option is to start teaching.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: Why is teaching better?
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: Because you can teach 20 people what you do.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: Teaching and information scales well, right?
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: And so you'll see a lot of these UGC creators open up mentorships and all of these things, and they they they become very successful.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: But what I would recommend for everyone is I think everyone should explore after you become a 10K a month UGC creator, maybe still keep your deals, but like go into a coaching route.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Because when you are coaching for a UGC brand, then you're talking to the actual management, the actual leadership of that startup, of that company, right?
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: You're becoming more personable with the team.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: And if your goal is to turn UGC making a 5k a month job into making$20,000 a month,$30,000 a month, but also having like some sort of security, some sort of like actual skill, some sort of ascension path, I would definitely say you want to go coaching rather than mentorship.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: What would you say the difference between coaching and mentorship is?
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: Mentorship is a more complete game.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: And what I mean by that is when you're running a mentorship, you could have all the skills in the world.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: You can be one of the best UGC creators.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: But if people don't know your name, if people don't really know who you are outside of this UGC space, then they're not gonna listen to you.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Like UGC mentorships, they have to sell themselves as well.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: You need to effectively make UGC for yourself.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: You need to convince people that have never heard of UGC to go buy your product, go buy your cars, go buy your coaching.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: So you're so you're saying you're you're considering a UGC coach, someone who like works for a specific campaign and coaches creators like that.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, gotcha.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: And a UGC mentorship would be someone with more of like a personal brand, which I think every single UGC creator needs to start a personal brand in 2027 because that's just how you're gonna get more attention to yourself.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: That's how you're gonna get more inbounds, more uh deals.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: But you know, mentorships, you're effectively running a business.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: And not everyone is meant to run a business.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: I'll say personally right now, I don't think I'm at a point in my life where I want to run a business.
- 33:11SPEAKER_01: I don't want to have to deal with hiring and firing people.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: I don't want to have to deal with learning about specific areas of business so then I can later outsource it at this point in time.
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: I want to focus on my craft.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: I want to focus on it.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: So essentially you're recommending that once you're a good enough creator to hit 15 to 20k a month, you recommend then using those skills to coach other people.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: In on on campaigns.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it it's like so gratifying to coach other people and like help people hit their first 5 to 10k a month.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's so life-changing for so many people.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: You'll start seeing like I really think like I'm Christian, right?
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: Something I always like come back to is like service.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: Service is really how we are able to almost evolve as human beings.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: I think you're making 15 to 20k a month as a UDC creator, and that's great.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: You're serving yourself and you're like getting your own bread up.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: But the moment you start like, like someone comes to you and they're like, you genuinely changed our life.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Like our campaign paid off a guy's student loans.
- 34:03SPEAKER_00: Dang.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: Like it's crazy.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: And I just read that message.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: I was like, bro, I'm 19 years old, and I had some part in like helping this happen.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: What are a couple of your favorite stories of students that have like of you guys or creators?
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: Number one, like obviously we just got that message, someone paid off their student loans.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: That was like awesome to me.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: But I think like the people I know, like I gave my friend like a UGC coaching role.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: And like she's just taken it and ran with it and like done so well.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: So many of our creators inside of our agency, they started off as just like simple creators, yeah.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: Just like literally not even knowing if UGC could work.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: And then uh Andrew, Richard, and I just had dinner with one of our creators that we were coaching up, and he's like now head of UGC at like an agency.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: He's basically running an agency himself.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, all these guys are genuinely making like they made the move and they have like actual consistent incomes.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: They've built the skills to where they're like they're so that they can survive past anything.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: Dude, that that's what I always say about UGC is like if you can learn the skills of how to generate companies' money with your videos, you're gonna have more job security than you'll ever have with a job.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: People say, Oh, is it risky to quit your job to do UGC?
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: I'm like, when you have a job, you have one single person who can fire you.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you and me both know there's thousands of companies who who would want to pay us to do stuff more than we can even possibly handle.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Like, it's more of a challenge to say no because there's so many opportunities every day.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: I've been so tempted to like drop out or take a gap.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: I was just blessed.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Like in the span of a month, I had like three or four companies come to me offering me like full-time positions, like six-figure full-time positions.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: And like, again, like let me remind you, I only made$3,000 doing UGC.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: Like in terms of that, right?
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: Like, I was I was a great UGC creator, but like I only like really touched the game for a bit.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but then coming back, I knew I had the talent and content strategy.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then spending enough time in the space, the amount of the amount of like things you can get out of this is insane.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: It's just a super, super special space right now.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: So let's wrap it up with one last question.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: I want to know if you were to have one piece of advice for a UGC creator out there right now or someone who's UGC curious, what would it be?
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: UGC curious.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: I love UGC curious.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Um Yeah, if you're if you're thinking about getting into UGC or you're in UGC right now and it's your first month and you feel like you're struggling, just remember that this is this is genuinely like one of the freest, highest growing industries in this game right now.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: All you need to do is just be high agency, do what you're told, but then go beyond that.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: I think like you would genuinely, it's impossible, it's almost impossible to fail in this industry unless you give up.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: That's that's what I would say.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so so true.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, uh I I you know people DM me every day asking how to get started in UGC, this and that.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: And I can tell you the people that actually go take action is a very small percentage.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: So if you are one of those people, you're gonna have success and your life will change.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: So yeah, we hope we hope to see you guys out here.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: Henry, where can uh where can the guys find you and your and the agency that you work in?
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can find me uh at my Instagram, Henry B.
