- 1:13Speaker 3: This is a podcast.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Called 25 Whistles.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Talking football, and they all wear a whistle. Yeah, it's stupid,
- 1:21Speaker 4: but what did you expect?
- 1:23Speaker 1: It's a podcast called 25 Whistles.
- 1:26Speaker 2: 25 Whistles.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Oh, boy.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Welcome to the show. Question for you guys. I'm going
- 1:32Speaker 1: to Las Vegas in a few weeks to play in
- 1:36Speaker 1: a celebrity poker tournament.
- 1:37Speaker 4: So cool. Okay.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:39Speaker 1: So I think they get a bunch of has-beens that
- 1:42Speaker 1: used to be famous, and we.
- 1:43Speaker 4: All play poker. No, that's not how they label that.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Not has-beens, dude. Come on.
- 1:49Speaker 6: Who else is playing? Do you know?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I can pull it up and look.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But it's like the celebrity poker net. It's on television
- 1:56Speaker 1: somewhere on some random channel. I used to play a
- 2:00Speaker 1: lot of poker. I'm just wondering from you guys, do
- 2:02Speaker 1: you think I should wear sunglasses?
- 2:04Speaker 4: That's the best. To me, when they wear sunglasses, they
- 2:08Speaker 4: mean business. So, yes.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I haven't played in a while. If I wear sunglasses
- 2:14Speaker 1: and I'm rusty and suck, the sunglasses just makes it worse.
- 2:18Speaker 6: That is true, but at least you already wear glasses
- 2:20Speaker 6: in general.
- 2:21Speaker 4: There we go.
- 2:21Speaker 6: So, like, there's a new look. Oh, he's got sunglasses on?
- 2:25Speaker 4: And then you can always tell him that you need
- 2:26Speaker 4: glasses to play.
- 2:28Speaker 1: But then they would say, just put on your normal glasses.
- 2:30Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Should I wear sunglasses when I play in this tournament?
- 2:36Speaker 5: 1,000%.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Oh, you go, yeah. 1,000?
- 2:39Speaker 4: Yeah. Eddie?
- 2:41Speaker 3: 100%.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So 10 times less than him. Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 4: But still, I'm at 100.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Mike?
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, get some of those pit vipers. Well, that'd be prescription.
- 2:52Speaker 4: What are pit vipers?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Let me see this. Like, think of the Jose Canseco
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oakley glasses.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Yeah, like Gronk wears those?
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, as much as, yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Those are cool.
- 3:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 1: So, okay, then I might. But people are going to
- 3:07Speaker 1: think I'm a douchebag.
- 3:08Speaker 2: For sure.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But that's not my thing. My thing's not looking purposefully
- 3:13Speaker 1: like a douchebag.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Can I tell you something, though? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anytime
- 3:16Speaker 4: I turn on the TV to watch poker, you know,
- 3:19Speaker 4: which is like when nothing else is on, but sometimes
- 3:22Speaker 4: I'll watch it just to see a cool hand go
- 3:24Speaker 4: down or whatever, and I feel like they're all kind
- 3:28Speaker 4: of DBs.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Professional players, probably they'll wear them for a specific reason.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I would just be wearing them because I am a douchebag.
- 3:36Speaker 6: I don't think you'll be the only one wearing them, though.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think so either.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So here are some of the other people playing. Wyndham Clark.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Not a has-been. Nope. Golfer. Golfer, dude. And he's very
- 3:47Speaker 4: relevant these days.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Gary Payton.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Oh.
- 3:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Legend. Hall of Famer.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Basketball. Nate Robinson.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Basketball. Love Nate.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Joe Gatto.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Is that the... Baseball? No, no, no. Is that the dude?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Is he a practical joker?
- 4:03Speaker 4: That is him, yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 6: Oh, you're right.
- 4:05Speaker 4: The one that got in trouble.
- 4:05Speaker 6: I'm thinking Joey Votto.
- 4:07Speaker 1: He's the one that got in trouble?
- 4:08Speaker 4: Yeah, the one that he was talking to someone. Mike? Yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 4: the one with a fan and the DMs. They got posted.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Possibly younger?
- 4:16Speaker 6: I don't think.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Oh, wasn't it? But he was married with a kid.
- 4:19Speaker 1: No? Got it. Ryan Garcia? Boxer?
- 4:22Speaker 4: My cousin? Oh, yeah. Boxer. Ryan Garcia, yes.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Super relevant.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Neon, but N3ON. Is he a streamer?
- 4:30Speaker 4: I don't know. That one I don't know.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Jeff Wittek. W-I-T-T-E-K. Neon's got to be a streamer. If
- 4:42Speaker 1: you can tell me who Jeff W-I-T-T-E-K is.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, he's a YouTuber. He used to be with
- 4:46Speaker 6: the David Dobrik crew.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Jeff, well, what if I don't know who David Dobrik is?
- 4:50Speaker 6: He's one of the biggest YouTubers?
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm too old.
- 4:53Speaker 4: He was like Mr.
- 4:54Speaker 6: Beast before Mr.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Beast.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 4:56Speaker 5: OG.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Jeff Witek is in that group. He was in that group.
- 4:59Speaker 4: They had a big falling out.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Holly Madison.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Is that the website where you cheat on your wife?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Ashley Madison.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Okay.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Holly Madison was with Hugh Hefner. Yeah, that Holly.
- 5:10Speaker 7: Okay.
- 5:10Speaker 1: It was the reality show.
- 5:12Speaker 7: Okay.
- 5:12Speaker 6: From back in the day, the bunnies.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And several others. They're giving me a buy-in value to $ 3, 000.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Wow.
- 5:23Speaker 4: You cash out before you even start?
- 5:24Speaker 1: I think it's a tournament. That would be funny.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I would like to cash out.
- 5:28Speaker 6: With the sunglasses?
- 5:32Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh. Bobby Bones cashes out before the tournament
- 5:34Speaker 4: even starts. It's $ 2, 998.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yes, I'm going to do that in a couple weeks.
- 5:40Speaker 4: That's awesome.
- 5:41Speaker 6: Are you nervous?
- 5:42Speaker 1: No, because I have no expectation. I have just not
- 5:45Speaker 1: played consistently at all. I've not played at all in years.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And I got the invite. And so I said, yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 1: but I said yes six months ago or I wouldn't
- 5:53Speaker 1: have said yes. If they asked me, hey, would you
- 5:55Speaker 1: like to go play in two weeks right now? I'd
- 5:57Speaker 1: say no.
- 5:57Speaker 5: No.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I don't want to do anything.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Are there any ringers playing or are they just all celebs?
- 6:03Speaker 1: It just says celebrity poker net.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Man, I feel like you can win this thing.
- 6:07Speaker 6: They can't be.
- 6:07Speaker 1: No, I'm sure they play a lot.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Really?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Generally, those people all play a lot.
- 6:11Speaker 6: I just saw Ryan Garcia in another one.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Oh, a tournament?
- 6:14Speaker 1: He might actually live in Vegas though, right?
- 6:16Speaker 6: Yeah, probably.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And if you live there, I'm assuming you're probably in
- 6:19Speaker 1: that world.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Play a lot.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you're in that world a bit. I did get
- 6:22Speaker 1: a Rams future. I bet on that. Got a pretty
- 6:26Speaker 1: good odds before they start winning again. So I've added
- 6:28Speaker 1: that to my list of futures. So when I win
- 6:30Speaker 1: money and I'm ahead for the week, I take some
- 6:32Speaker 1: of that money and I invest it back in to
- 6:35Speaker 1: a future and then I take some profit.
- 6:37Speaker 4: What are your futures as of now?
- 6:39Speaker 1: Cowboys.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Super Bowl winners?
- 6:41Speaker 1: All these are Super Bowl winners.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Cowboys.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Ravens.
- 6:50Speaker 7: Rams.
- 6:51Speaker 4: That's the latest one you put in?
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Can I talk you into another one?
- 6:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Because I think I'm going to do it.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Then I'm out.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Today.
- 6:59Speaker 6: You don't have any futures, right, Eddie?
- 7:00Speaker 4: I don't really do futures.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I'm out.
- 7:02Speaker 4: But I've been losing.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And if you say it's one that I already have,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm cashing out and taking a loss before the season
- 7:06Speaker 1: even happens.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Well, didn't you just mention all the ones you have?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you say you want to get one
- 7:12Speaker 1: of them, I'm out of mine.
- 7:13Speaker 4: You cashed out of that. I'm not going to say that.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I am going to start a new one. And this
- 7:19Speaker 4: might be my first futures ever.
- 7:21Speaker 7: Ever.
- 7:21Speaker 4: For sure this season. I think last year maybe I
- 7:23Speaker 4: did the Cowboys somewhere in the middle of the season.
- 7:25Speaker 4: That was stupid. I might as well just give my
- 7:26Speaker 4: money away. But I think I'm going to go with
- 7:29Speaker 4: the Bears to win the Super Bowl.
- 7:31Speaker 1: They just got Jeffrey Simmons.
- 7:33Speaker 4: I feel like the Bears can win it all. And
- 7:36Speaker 4: no one is really looking at them to win it all.
- 7:38Speaker 1: People are talking about them winning it all.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I know. But they have the 49ers in the way.
- 7:41Speaker 1: But you're acting like you're making some bold prediction. It is.
- 7:44Speaker 4: It's plus 1100 right now.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Even before they got Jeffrey Simmons... People were like, I
- 7:49Speaker 1: think the Bears could really be a team that goes far.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Who said that? Me. Oh, you're quoting me.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Maybe I am. Am I crazy for thinking he's crazy?
- 7:57Speaker 6: No, not at all. Everyone's talking about the Bears, but
- 8:00Speaker 6: to him, nobody's talking.
- 8:01Speaker 4: About the Bears. Okay, well, the odds are 49ers, Bills, Chiefs, Seahawks, Rams,
- 8:06Speaker 4: then the Bears. So no one's talking about the Bears.
- 8:09Speaker 4: So you're telling me, what are they, sixth?
- 8:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 1: So that would be almost NFC Championship.
- 8:14Speaker 6: Yeah, that's pretty high up there for 32 teams.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I am making that bet right now.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That's great. I can't get into my DraftKings account.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Uh-oh. They locked you out.
- 8:22Speaker 6: Send you another message?
- 8:23Speaker 1: That'd be a disaster for them to lock me out.
- 8:25Speaker 4: That would be a big mistake.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Why would they be turning money down? Yeah. I'm finally in.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Here we go. Let's see. Open.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Rams at plus 1050. Chiefs at plus 900. Broncos at
- 8:39Speaker 1: plus 2000. These are all the ones I got. I
- 8:42Speaker 1: got that one because Amy said she had a psychic prediction.
- 8:44Speaker 1: The Ravens at plus 950 and the Cowboys at plus 2500.
- 8:47Speaker 1: So those are all of them. One, two, three, four, five.
- 8:50Speaker 4: And now?
- 8:52Speaker 1: If you're going with the Bears, I predict some devastating
- 8:56Speaker 1: injuries this week in Chicago.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Why do you say that about me?
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't just for effect. I do based on the
- 9:03Speaker 1: experience of betting with you or being on your team
- 9:05Speaker 1: when we bet something. Or you chase a bet that
- 9:10Speaker 1: I do and then it loses.
- 9:11Speaker 4: That happened to me with the Bengals. Okay, I picked
- 9:13Speaker 4: the Bengals. They were supposed to be good last year.
- 9:15Speaker 4: And then Joe Burrow.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Not just that.
- 9:17Speaker 4: And then the Cowboys.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Generally, Eddie kind of loses, right?
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 6: We've seen it for years now on this podcast.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I do lose.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I've not had a great year, so I can't talk
- 9:28Speaker 1: a lot.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Same.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Your team can win the championship this season, but it
- 9:32Speaker 1: has to miss the playoffs for the next 10 years.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Are you taking the deal? Again, your team can win
- 9:39Speaker 1: the championship this season, but they will miss the playoffs
- 9:43Speaker 1: for the next decade. Do you take the championship? Eddie Cowboys.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Yes. Give it to me. I'll take the deal. The
- 9:51Speaker 4: main reason I want to take the deal is because
- 9:54Speaker 4: I'm raising four boys right now, and I thought that
- 9:57Speaker 4: they were all going to be Cowboys lifer right now
- 9:59Speaker 4: out of my four boys. children, one seems to be
- 10:02Speaker 4: a lifer. He's the only one that sticks with me
- 10:05Speaker 4: and watches the whole game. The other three, they're bailing,
- 10:08Speaker 4: and they're bailing fast.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Understandably.
- 10:11Speaker 4: I get it, and I don't blame them, but if
- 10:13Speaker 4: we won the championship this year, they're all in.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I go yes, too, because I'd obviously give that championship
- 10:21Speaker 1: to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Ten years not being good, I
- 10:25Speaker 1: can do that standing on my head. It's like people going,
- 10:29Speaker 1: two years in prison, I can do that easy because
- 10:31Speaker 1: I've done 20 years.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you're used to it.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I'm used to losing. You give me a championship, yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'll take ten years easily. I'll take ten years easily.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Death penalty. Oh.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Wow.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Give me a championship death penalty. The SMU? We haven't
- 10:48Speaker 1: had a championship since 1964. So, yes. Dang. Now, Kevin,
- 10:53Speaker 1: your Patriots are their known winners. They have won in
- 10:56Speaker 1: your life a significant amount.
- 10:58Speaker 4: You're used to winning.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You've had a lot of championships. So, as of today,
- 11:00Speaker 1: would you take a championship for no playoffs for the
- 11:03Speaker 1: next 10 years?
- 11:05Speaker 6: Guys, I would not. Because I've seen, to your point
- 11:08Speaker 6: you just said, I've seen six championships from the Patriots alone.
- 11:12Speaker 6: And we missed the playoffs a couple years in a row,
- 11:14Speaker 6: and that was so boring to me. I just want
- 11:16Speaker 6: to make playoffs for a few years. I could not
- 11:18Speaker 6: go 10 years without the playoffs, even for a championship.
- 11:21Speaker 1: And you have the experience. Yeah. We don't. Eddie has
- 11:25Speaker 1: it from when you were a teenager, I guess.
- 11:26Speaker 4: A long time ago. And he sounds like a rich person, right?
- 11:29Speaker 4: Like a person that has all this money. They're like, oh,
- 11:32Speaker 4: you know. But he is a rich.
- 11:34Speaker 1: He's rich in championships.
- 11:35Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. So he's used to winning. You're
- 11:37Speaker 4: used to winning. For us, we would do anything for
- 11:40Speaker 4: another win. I know. I'm sorry.
- 11:42Speaker 6: I wish you could feel what I've felt for the
- 11:44Speaker 6: last 20 years. I really do.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Shut up.
- 11:46Speaker 1: But you're just a Cowboys fan.
- 11:48Speaker 7: Shut up.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Even I am like, shut up. And Eddie's isn't even
- 11:52Speaker 1: for him. It's for his kids.
- 11:53Speaker 4: It is, man.
- 11:53Speaker 7: Selfless.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Your kids have never experienced it.
- 11:55Speaker 4: Never, man.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Your kids are me with Arkansas.
- 11:57Speaker 4: And when they were younger, they were so excited about
- 12:00Speaker 4: the Cowboys because they didn't know how bad they were.
- 12:01Speaker 4: They were just a team that they could root for.
- 12:03Speaker 4: And now that they have to live through it, they're
- 12:06Speaker 4: bailing on me quick. One of them even was like, Dad,
- 12:09Speaker 4: I kind of like the Titans better than the Cowboys.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Oh, that's even worse.
- 12:12Speaker 4: What did you say? They're worse.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 6: Yeah, he'll change again in a couple years.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 12:17Speaker 1: You might as well tell me you like the Bin Ladens.
- 12:18Speaker 1: You know?
- 12:20Speaker 4: Jeez.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Milwaukee beat Tampa Bay 4-1 last night. Did you guys
- 12:24Speaker 1: watch any of that game last night?
- 12:25Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 12:27Speaker 1: You did watch some?
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yeah, a little bit. I just had it on.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I've been zero interest.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Had it on. Every time I kept looking over, they
- 12:34Speaker 4: were fixing something on the mound because there was something
- 12:36Speaker 4: wrong with the mound. I think the pitcher kind of
- 12:38Speaker 4: like twisted his ankle because it was loose dirt or something.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Other than that, I saw the celebration.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I'm glad they won. I think both teams winning would
- 12:46Speaker 1: have been fun. We were in a situation where both
- 12:47Speaker 1: those teams, hey, that's cute. Good job.
- 12:49Speaker 4: That is cute. Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Good job. Good job, team.
- 12:51Speaker 4: You know what sucks, though? To win a World Series
- 12:54Speaker 4: on the road.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Cubs did.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I know. And it's cool because you won the World Series,
- 12:59Speaker 4: and especially for them, the first time ever.
- 13:01Speaker 1: That's 08, just to be fair.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Right, right, right. What was it, Milwaukee? Milwaukee.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Oh, I thought you meant the Cubs. Sorry, I think
- 13:07Speaker 1: only the Cubs. The Brewers, yes.
- 13:09Speaker 3: The Brewers, yes.
- 13:10Speaker 4: But like, you know, it's your first World Series and
- 13:13Speaker 4: then you're celebrating and no one is really, there's no confetti,
- 13:16Speaker 4: there's no nothing. You're just kind of you guys celebrating.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, warm up the plane quick.
- 13:22Speaker 6: Yeah, let's go back home and celebrate. There were a
- 13:24Speaker 6: lot of Brewers fans there.
- 13:25Speaker 4: There were, they traveled well.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 6: It helps when you're up 3-0 too.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Question though about the... 3-1.
- 13:32Speaker 6: Before that game, sorry. Before that game. Like going to
- 13:34Speaker 6: Tampa the first time.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Got it.
- 13:36Speaker 6: Both games.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Got it. Just making sure our facts are right.
- 13:38Speaker 6: Yeah, they were up 3-1, yes.
- 13:41Speaker 4: The Rays. Are they required to sit there and stare
- 13:45Speaker 4: at the.
- 13:45Speaker 1: They're not.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Why do they do that?
- 13:48Speaker 1: Well, now the thing it's cool to do is sit
- 13:51Speaker 1: and stare and have somebody take a picture of you
- 13:52Speaker 1: sitting and staring and go, We lost, and I sit
- 13:55Speaker 1: and stared because that's what I want, and next year
- 13:57Speaker 1: I'm going to work even harder. And you have that picture,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and then when you win, you post it and go,
- 14:02Speaker 1: this was me one year ago sitting and staring.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 14:05Speaker 1: A lot of those sit and stare pictures, we never
- 14:06Speaker 1: see because they never actually win. It happens in football
- 14:09Speaker 1: a lot, too. On the field after a game, and
- 14:11Speaker 1: somebody gets a picture taken when they're on the field
- 14:13Speaker 1: still in their uniform after losing, and they're, Yeah, I
- 14:16Speaker 1: saw it, and I came back the next year.
- 14:17Speaker 4: I used that as fuel.
- 14:19Speaker 6: I got this printed and put it in the room.
- 14:21Speaker 4: It looks so sad. It's almost like an ex-girlfriend looking
- 14:24Speaker 4: at the new girlfriend, being like, ugh, celebrating.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I think it's a bit performative at this point. It's
- 14:32Speaker 1: just so they can do it and have record of
- 14:34Speaker 1: them doing it, so when they do win, they can
- 14:36Speaker 1: show that that motivated them.
- 14:38Speaker 4: What would you do?
- 14:39Speaker 3: Leave.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Get out of Dodge.
- 14:41Speaker 7: Immediately.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Same.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Retire from the sport.
- 14:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I'd go way overboard immediately.
- 14:46Speaker 4: I'd be like, Elvis has left the building. Like, I'm
- 14:48Speaker 4: not there anymore. No.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Josh Downs has reportedly requested a trade from the Colts,
- 14:52Speaker 1: at least as of right now. And I haven't looked
- 14:55Speaker 1: in the last couple hours, but it is a request.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It's not a completed deal. I would want out of
- 15:01Speaker 1: the Colts as well. If I wasn't completely in love
- 15:03Speaker 1: with the city of Indianapolis, I would want out of
- 15:05Speaker 1: the Colts as well because that is an organization that
- 15:07Speaker 1: is going to bottle themselves out, get as many picks
- 15:11Speaker 1: as they can, and start rebuilding. And so you're going
- 15:13Speaker 1: to lose for a while. I mean, you could say
- 15:15Speaker 1: that's what the Titans are doing, but they're already at
- 15:18Speaker 1: the bottom. Been there. They gave their best player away
- 15:20Speaker 1: for two first-round picks from the Bears. And again, we'll
- 15:23Speaker 1: talk to Scott Pioli in a few minutes, who is
- 15:24Speaker 1: a former general manager that has won championships. Usually it's
- 15:29Speaker 1: teams that thought they had a chance, and then they
- 15:31Speaker 1: trade their good players when they realize they don't. It's
- 15:34Speaker 1: usually not teams that are terrible and we're already building,
- 15:36Speaker 1: trading off their good players. Because that means... Well, you
- 15:40Speaker 1: had these good players in the process of your build,
- 15:41Speaker 1: and now you're going, I'm going to abort from building
- 15:43Speaker 1: with these good players and kind of start over again.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 1: But they got two first-round picks, but the Titans are dreadful.
- 15:49Speaker 4: So what happened to them? Because they were like.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Well, Variable had them pretty good. But even then, they
- 15:54Speaker 1: were playing like... Have the ball. Ball control.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Ugly, boring.
- 16:01Speaker 1: But they were winning.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 1: But they were winning.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I meant the Colts.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Oh.
- 16:05Speaker 4: The Titans. Like the Colts. Like they were... Daniel Jones
- 16:09Speaker 4: was doing great last year.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Towards Achilles.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Then he got hurt, and then that's kind of when
- 16:13Speaker 4: it all went downhill. But now he's healthy, and they
- 16:15Speaker 4: can't go back to that. I honestly thought they'd be
- 16:18Speaker 4: better this year.
- 16:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I think most people did.
- 16:21Speaker 4: So what's their problem?
- 16:23Speaker 1: Their owner wears a headset and holds a clipboard and
- 16:26Speaker 1: wants to ask questions in the middle of the game.
- 16:29Speaker 1: How are you supposed to coach whenever the owner's coming up?
- 16:30Speaker 4: I know.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Even Jerry Jones isn't on the sideline.
- 16:33Speaker 4: No, no, he stays up there now. He used to
- 16:34Speaker 4: be on the sideline.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but now he's not with a clipboard. The prove-it
- 16:40Speaker 1: games of the week. Here's what I have listed. Vikings-Lions.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Is that tonight? No. Monday, then?
- 16:49Speaker 4: Tonight's a bad one. Panthers and Packers.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That's not horrible.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Oh, that's not horrible.
- 16:53Speaker 4: I think so.
- 16:54Speaker 1: They're both teams winning records.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Better than the Cowboys.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Better than the Cowboys.
- 16:58Speaker 4: But the Panthers just got rolled last week.
- 16:59Speaker 1: One game.
- 17:00Speaker 4: But they got rolled by one-armed Baker.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I would say Nine-Fingered Baker, okay? Yeah, I have my
- 17:08Speaker 1: Prove-It Games of the Week, Vikings and Lions. I still
- 17:11Speaker 1: think that video of them when the Packers jumped and
- 17:16Speaker 1: then they go into a full Charlie Brown dance, that
- 17:17Speaker 1: still pops up on my TikTok feed. I like it
- 17:19Speaker 1: every time.
- 17:19Speaker 4: So funny.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Because it's multiple people on the team doing all the
- 17:22Speaker 1: dance moves. It's almost like they plan to do that
- 17:25Speaker 1: if it happened.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 1: But that's a lot of planning by a lot of
- 17:27Speaker 1: different people. Like even the offensive linemen are doing hip moves.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It's such a funny video. Ravens and Bills.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Good one. Lamar's supposed to be back.
- 17:37Speaker 1: He was supposed to be back last week until he wasn't.
- 17:39Speaker 6: Yeah, he is practicing today, but that's what he did
- 17:41Speaker 6: last week, too.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Chiefs, Broncos. Good one. And Monday's the Bears-Seahawks. Eddie's championship team.
- 17:50Speaker 4: That's where it all starts right.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Here, boy.
- 17:51Speaker 6: No one's talking about them, though.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Hey, don't be jumping on if they win this game,
- 17:54Speaker 4: all right? That's all I'm saying.
- 17:56Speaker 1: That's four really good games.
- 17:58Speaker 6: You forgot about Patriots-Dolphins, but yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I didn't. That game should not be a game. I know.
- 18:03Speaker 4: It's pretty bad. And hopefully it's not a game.
- 18:05Speaker 6: I hope so, too. That'd be nice.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Your boy Tom Brady's back in the news.
- 18:10Speaker 6: Oh, dating.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Yeah, he's having two Victoria's Secret supermodel fight over him.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Nice.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Wasn't his ex-wife a Victoria's Secret model? Yeah. She was, right?
- 18:20Speaker 1: I think they're supermodels, but I assume all supermodels end
- 18:23Speaker 1: up being Victoria's Secret models. But Tom Brady's love life
- 18:26Speaker 1: is causing a rift between two supermodel best friends.
- 18:29Speaker 6: I didn't see that. I saw he was dating one,
- 18:31Speaker 6: but I didn't know two were fighting over him.
- 18:32Speaker 4: This guy.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Joan Smalls is calling out Candace Swample for stealing her man.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Thank God. Smalls connected with Brady at some point, and
- 18:41Speaker 1: then her friend, the other model, gave her a hard time.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Smalls has made several targeted messages on social media because
- 18:47Speaker 1: her friend then got with him.
- 18:50Speaker 4: How old are these girls?
- 18:50Speaker 5: 19, 20?
- 18:51Speaker 4: No, I think they're... 30s.
- 18:53Speaker 6: Oh, there's a 30s? Yeah, the swan pool. I looked,
- 18:55Speaker 6: because that's the one I thought he was dating. She's 39,
- 18:57Speaker 6: I believe.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Dang, senior citizen or what?
- 19:01Speaker 4: No, I just didn't expect battles between almost 40-year-old women. Actually,
- 19:06Speaker 4: adult women.
- 19:06Speaker 6: That's because the last one, what was her name, the influencer?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Alex Earl?
- 19:10Speaker 6: Yes.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Because she's like 23 or something. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Dang. That's your quarterback, dude.
- 19:15Speaker 1: That's your dude.
- 19:15Speaker 6: Heck yeah, I got supermodels fighting over him. And his
- 19:18Speaker 6: ex-wife's a supermodel. They probably all know each other.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Ugh.
- 19:23Speaker 1: What, that you're jealous?
- 19:24Speaker 4: It's just like, what's he doing?
- 19:25Speaker 3: I know.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He's living.
- 19:28Speaker 7: He is.
- 19:28Speaker 1: He's living. College football this week. Here are your big games.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Arizona's at Texas Tech. It's interesting. I follow Arizona a
- 19:38Speaker 1: little bit because we went to their campus.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Yeah, same.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Wisconsin at Iowa. Well, Iowa's not even ranked anymore, huh?
- 19:45Speaker 6: No.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was a favorite wisconsin's number 25 uh florida at
- 19:51Speaker 1: georgia and florida 17 man that pendulum because they were
- 19:55Speaker 1: great then they were terrible and now they're good again
- 19:59Speaker 1: they're playing georgia uh georgia's 12 and a half point
- 20:01Speaker 1: favorite uh number 20 you just don't think these numbers
- 20:05Speaker 1: are they're in the right places but Ranked Northwestern at
- 20:08Speaker 1: unranked Oregon.
- 20:09Speaker 4: I know. Crazy.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Number 20 Northwestern at Oregon. Oregon minus three and a half.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Northwestern does look tough. Like a tough little football team.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Yeah, the problem I have with them is that they're
- 20:19Speaker 1: Northwestern and I can't shake that. Like every once in
- 20:21Speaker 1: a while it's fun and they're good, but I just,
- 20:24Speaker 1: in my mind, they always lose. But yeah, they're fine.
- 20:27Speaker 6: What's crazy is Chip Kelly's there.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Like his.
- 20:30Speaker 6: Ride as a coach has been just crazy.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Raiders, Ohio State. I mean, everywhere.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Everywhere.
- 20:35Speaker 4: What does he do? He's not their head coach, right?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Offense coordinator.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Right?
- 20:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Oregon's a three and a half point favorite.
- 20:41Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I think I may jump on that one.
- 20:43Speaker 6: And take Northwestern?
- 20:44Speaker 1: No, Oregon.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 20:46Speaker 6: Dylan Raiola.
- 20:47Speaker 1: The difference is Oregon in my head only wins. See,
- 20:49Speaker 1: I'm not going by actual facts. I'm just going by
- 20:51Speaker 1: my head. Unless Eddie bets it, then I'm out. I'm
- 20:54Speaker 1: going Northwestern.
- 20:54Speaker 4: I'm going to go Northwestern. Okay, good.
- 20:56Speaker 1: I guarantee Oregon wins. Utah at Cincinnati. Utah is ranked
- 21:02Speaker 1: number six.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Dang.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Cincinnati had a really good win last week against Texas Tech.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Miami at North Carolina. That's somewhat interesting. Miami's a 14-point favorite.
- 21:12Speaker 1: The Miami-Notre Dame game's going to be coming up pretty soon, huh?
- 21:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I'll be rooting for Miami.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Just because you don't want to root for Notre Dame?
- 21:19Speaker 1: Notre Dame doesn't play anybody except they have basically two
- 21:21Speaker 1: and a half games. They lost the first one. Miami's
- 21:25Speaker 1: the second one. SMU, who I do not believe they've
- 21:27Speaker 1: played yet, is their other half. And they just get
- 21:32Speaker 1: in because they're Notre Dame.
- 21:33Speaker 4: So you just believe that they're not as good as
- 21:34Speaker 4: their number says? They might be.
- 21:36Speaker 1: They just schedule their own schedule. They don't have a conference.
- 21:37Speaker 1: It just kind of sucks they can schedule their own
- 21:39Speaker 1: way in. So I want them to lose all their
- 21:40Speaker 1: big games.
- 21:41Speaker 4: If you scheduled your own schedule?
- 21:44Speaker 1: But I'd be independent, not in a conference.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Right, right. If you were able to do that.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Middle Tennessee every week.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Like, would you just go play Sam Houston State and
- 21:53Speaker 4: everyone else and then, like, one big one, two big ones? Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 4: Or would you go, like, challenge yourself?
- 21:57Speaker 1: No, I would do what Notre Dame's doing.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 6: Yeah, they have Miami next week and SMU a few
- 22:04Speaker 6: weeks after that.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah, so two of their three hardest games are coming up.
- 22:08Speaker 1: I hope they lose. Although I do like their coach.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Yeah, he's cool.
- 22:11Speaker 6: Yeah, fan of the show.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Well, he's been on anyway.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Ohio State at USC and then number 23 Missouri at Arkansas.
- 22:20Speaker 1: What do you think the line is on that one, Eddie?
- 22:24Speaker 4: Missouri minus... Are you sure? Yes.
- 22:28Speaker 7: Okay, good.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Yes, I am.
- 22:31Speaker 1: 13 and a half. Minus 10.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Okay.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I think we could be competitive.
- 22:35Speaker 6: Are you still thinking about going?
- 22:39Speaker 1: I don't think so. Here's why. I think it's going
- 22:42Speaker 1: to rain. Oh, yeah. I think it's going to rain.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I don't want to go and lose, and it'd be raining,
- 22:51Speaker 1: and then if Caitlin goes and we take the baby...
- 22:54Speaker 1: Baby's in a different room. It's just the whole....
- 22:58Speaker 4: But you guys aren't trick-or-treating or anything if you were
- 23:00Speaker 4: to stay here, right?
- 23:01Speaker 1: No, but I have a couple friends coming to town
- 23:02Speaker 1: this weekend. Brandon Walker's coming to town.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Oh, nice.
- 23:06Speaker 1: And Titus, they're coming in different times, and so I
- 23:09Speaker 1: may see them. So that's a positive to staying home.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 1: So I don't know. I don't think I'm going to go. 80%
- 23:18Speaker 1: not going to go. You never know, though, with me.
- 23:20Speaker 4: You don't.
- 23:21Speaker 1: So those are the games there. Football has a way
- 23:25Speaker 1: of turning one game into a full week of conversation,
- 23:27Speaker 1: and DraftKings keeps you close to all of it. The
- 23:30Speaker 1: DraftKings Sports app is now live in all 50 states.
- 23:32Speaker 1: That means from Texas to California to Florida, every fan
- 23:35Speaker 1: is in on the excitement. Follow the teams you love.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Keep up with the biggest games and experience the excitement
- 23:39Speaker 1: of football all week long. No matter which game you're watching,
- 23:42Speaker 1: you're always connected with one app. As we talked about
- 23:45Speaker 1: a second ago, the best games of the week are.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I do think for me that Florida-Georgia game, if I'm
- 23:50Speaker 1: pulling out my own personal interests from my own teams,
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'm very curious about that game because we have seen
- 23:56Speaker 1: the pendulum on Florida go, we don't expect much, first-year coach. Wow,
- 24:01Speaker 1: they're really good. Okay, we were wrong. They're really bad. Okay,
- 24:05Speaker 1: they're back to being good again. And they will be
- 24:07Speaker 1: fully tested against Georgia. So that one's super interesting to me.
- 24:10Speaker 1: And then also the Ohio State-USC game. And look, I'm
- 24:13Speaker 1: not a Big Ten guy, but USC, they probably need
- 24:20Speaker 1: to win a lot in the next couple years.
- 24:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Or those are going to change coaches. Yep. It's time.
- 24:27Speaker 1: And Ohio State's got a backup quarterback.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 6: And it's at home.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yeah. At USC.
- 24:32Speaker 5: At USC.
- 24:33Speaker 1: That's all the games already sold out.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Is it really? Yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 1: And that's weird because remember at the beginning when there
- 24:37Speaker 1: was like nine, there were nine people there at the game.
- 24:39Speaker 6: Yeah. Week one or week zero, whatever that was.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Do they play at the Coliseum?
- 24:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Yeah.

- 25:40Speaker 1: Joining us now is longtime NFL executive, three-time Super Bowl champion,
- 25:43Speaker 1: Scott Pioli. About once a year, it's one of my
- 25:46Speaker 1: favorite things to do is talk with Scott once everything
- 25:49Speaker 1: starts happening. I never want to waste my time with Scott,
- 25:51Speaker 1: so we wait till right when it's almost trade deadline time. Scott,
- 25:55Speaker 1: so happy that you're back. I... I want to first
- 25:58Speaker 1: talk to you about the Colts and what's happening with
- 25:59Speaker 1: the Colts because either they're trading people or people are
- 26:03Speaker 1: asking for trades or we're waiting on them to trade people.
- 26:05Speaker 1: If you're in that Colts locker room and you've been
- 26:07Speaker 1: in locker rooms probably similarly, like what is the vibe?
- 26:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure the vibe right now in the locker
- 26:12Speaker 3: room is uncomfortable just because, again, there's so many different
- 26:17Speaker 3: perspectives that are looking at this football team, right? The
- 26:20Speaker 3: players are looking from one perspective. The coaches are looking
- 26:23Speaker 3: from another perspective. The front office is looking at their perspective.
- 26:27Speaker 3: And honestly, the owner is looking at their perspective. So
- 26:29Speaker 3: I'm sure there's a lot of discomfort right now for
- 26:33Speaker 3: a lot of reasons, Bobby. But, you know, this is
- 26:37Speaker 3: the kind of stuff that happens to at least two
- 26:40Speaker 3: to three to four locker rooms every single season this
- 26:43Speaker 3: time of year.
- 26:44Speaker 1: If you're a guy like Jonathan Taylor, really still one
- 26:47Speaker 1: of the premier backs in the NFL. and his name
- 26:50Speaker 1: has been mentioned a few times they're even like hypothetically
- 26:52Speaker 1: matching him with teams right now but he hasn't been
- 26:55Speaker 1: a guy that's been traded yet is there ever a
- 26:57Speaker 1: time when you just don't want to be traded even
- 26:58Speaker 1: if you're on a bad team.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Well it's just a fascinating question because uh you know
- 27:04Speaker 3: bobby i go back to my time at the kansas
- 27:05Speaker 3: city chiefs when i first got to the chiefs and
- 27:08Speaker 3: you know we were trading trying to improve the team
- 27:10Speaker 3: and then we traded i made a trade for uh
- 27:15Speaker 3: Mike Rabel and Matt Castle traded a second round pick
- 27:17Speaker 3: to Belichick at the Patriots. I had just left the Patriots.
- 27:21Speaker 3: And I had always thought about exclusively my perspective, the
- 27:26Speaker 3: team's perspective, the owner's perspective. And you're asking about the
- 27:29Speaker 3: player's perspective. And this is a lesson that I learned
- 27:33Speaker 3: at Kansas City. Mike Rabel was really pissed off at
- 27:37Speaker 3: me when we made that trade. And I couldn't understand
- 27:39Speaker 3: it because I knew that his contract, he had one
- 27:42Speaker 3: year left on his contract. It wasn't at a high number.
- 27:45Speaker 3: And we were not only going to trade for him,
- 27:47Speaker 3: but we were going to increase his salary and give
- 27:50Speaker 3: him an extra year of extension. And the interesting thing
- 27:53Speaker 3: was when Mike got out there, he let me know,
- 27:55Speaker 3: you know, we know how transparent Mike is. And he
- 27:58Speaker 3: told me how pissed off he was. And he said
- 28:00Speaker 3: to me, you know, I've been in this league. I
- 28:02Speaker 3: think at the time he had been in the league
- 28:04Speaker 3: 10 years. You know, we spent eight years together. I
- 28:07Speaker 3: did everything that you asked me to do. We're friends.
- 28:10Speaker 3: You know, you're friends with my family. I'm friends with
- 28:11Speaker 3: your family. You would think when my opportunity came to
- 28:15Speaker 3: change teams, that I could make that choice. But you're
- 28:19Speaker 3: making me come to Kansas City. Maybe I would have
- 28:21Speaker 3: picked it. Maybe I wouldn't have. But at least I
- 28:23Speaker 3: think I would have earned the right to go to
- 28:26Speaker 3: a place where I wanted to go. And I tell you, Bobby,
- 28:29Speaker 3: it was insight into, you know, we think we know
- 28:31Speaker 3: what players think. We think we know what they feel.
- 28:34Speaker 3: And in this case with Jonathan Taylor specifically, again, I
- 28:38Speaker 3: apologize for that long winded story. I think only Jonathan
- 28:41Speaker 3: knows what he wants, whether he wants to be traded,
- 28:43Speaker 3: whether he wants to be let go, whether he wants
- 28:46Speaker 3: to stay there. And at different times, different emotions affect
- 28:49Speaker 3: the players differently. But I know that Mike was upset
- 28:52Speaker 3: for a good couple of months, and then he settled
- 28:55Speaker 3: in and became a captain. We won the division two
- 28:58Speaker 3: years later, and he retired as a chief. And again,
- 29:05Speaker 3: so I think it's really complicated when we try to
- 29:07Speaker 3: get into the minds and the mindset of the players.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Well, it's interesting about that story. Matt Castle is one
- 29:11Speaker 1: of my dear friends, and we worked together for the
- 29:13Speaker 1: NFL on a different project. I love it. He's the
- 29:15Speaker 1: greatest human.
- 29:16Speaker 3: He's incredible, Bobby, isn't he?
- 29:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:19Speaker 1: But he will tell me stories from places that I
- 29:21Speaker 1: have never thought of as a non-player where he goes,
- 29:24Speaker 1: we're players who have kids in school. And that is
- 29:28Speaker 1: affecting us as much as anything else is. And if
- 29:31Speaker 1: we have to leave, our kids having to go make
- 29:33Speaker 1: new friends affects our life as a player. And I
- 29:35Speaker 1: never really thought about that as like just a normie.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Absolutely. And, and, and, you know, he and Jen are
- 29:42Speaker 3: married and have two kids at this point in time.
- 29:44Speaker 3: And he's an Ohio guy. Maybe he wanted to go
- 29:47Speaker 3: play for the Browns at that point in time. You know,
- 29:50Speaker 3: maybe I saved him from himself on that one. But
- 29:53Speaker 3: you're right. You know, Matt gives that gives that insight.
- 29:56Speaker 3: And it goes for everybody that's involved in this.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:58Speaker 3: People see the players, the coaches, the front office as
- 30:02Speaker 3: we are these public figures in our sport, which, you know,
- 30:07Speaker 3: it matters, but it also doesn't matter. But we've got
- 30:11Speaker 3: these other lives and we do have. families that we
- 30:15Speaker 3: love and love us. And it includes spouses, it includes children,
- 30:19Speaker 3: it includes parents, friends. And a lot of things get
- 30:23Speaker 3: impacted when that happens. This isn't just fantasy football or
- 30:27Speaker 3: trading cards where we're just giving things away. But watching
- 30:31Speaker 3: what's happening at the Colts is really quite fascinating. There's
- 30:36Speaker 3: a lot more to talk about with that whole circumstance
- 30:39Speaker 3: of what's going on, Bobby.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I want to go to the Eagles for a second
- 30:42Speaker 1: and From now, my recent education, and obviously the players
- 30:46Speaker 1: want to win. They're on the field. They want to play.
- 30:48Speaker 1: They want to show their best because who knows where
- 30:50Speaker 1: they're going to be next year. Obviously, the coaches feel
- 30:53Speaker 1: the same. With the players they're given, they want to
- 30:55Speaker 1: win because they have a career to... hopefully succeed in
- 30:59Speaker 1: and thrive and they have game tape. But as somebody
- 31:03Speaker 1: who has worked in the front office, do these managers
- 31:07Speaker 1: ever hamstring purposefully the teams so maybe they have a
- 31:10Speaker 1: less chance of winning so they get a better, a
- 31:13Speaker 1: higher draft pick?
- 31:15Speaker 3: Not anyone that I ever worked with. You know, as
- 31:17Speaker 3: a general manager or any person, if you're involved with
- 31:21Speaker 3: a team, And you do... Our job is to win
- 31:25Speaker 3: football games. Whether you're a head coach, whether you're general manager,
- 31:28Speaker 3: front office, that is our job. And even considering losing
- 31:34Speaker 3: games in order to do something in the future, A,
- 31:37Speaker 3: it's one of the most selfish things that you could
- 31:38Speaker 3: ever think about for so many reasons because... there's so many,
- 31:42Speaker 3: we tell the players, we tell everybody in the organization,
- 31:46Speaker 3: everything that we do is to be centered around winning
- 31:49Speaker 3: football games. And if you compromise that mindset, if you
- 31:53Speaker 3: compromise the processes that are involved in trying to do
- 31:56Speaker 3: anything but win, honestly, people that think that way need
- 32:02Speaker 3: to be in a different game, in a different sport.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Because The selfishness involved when you're thinking about getting a
- 32:10Speaker 3: higher draft pick, and you can call it business, but
- 32:14Speaker 3: the number of lives, we were just talking about this, Bobby, right?
- 32:17Speaker 3: The number of lives that are going to be impacted
- 32:20Speaker 3: if you intentionally find ways to lose games, it's just, again,
- 32:27Speaker 3: do something else. I've never worked with people like that.
- 32:29Speaker 3: I've never worked around people like that. I've heard rumors.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I've heard circumstances and situations, but it's a bad idea.
- 32:37Speaker 1: When we talk about quarterbacks, it's a must-have. Now, a
- 32:40Speaker 1: guy like Cam Ward here in Tennessee, how many years
- 32:44Speaker 1: do you give him before you redraft another quarterback? And
- 32:48Speaker 1: it doesn't have to be Cam specifically, but here's a guy,
- 32:50Speaker 1: and the Titans are going to be bad again this year,
- 32:52Speaker 1: and they just made a big trade for a couple
- 32:53Speaker 1: more picks in the last five minutes. But how long
- 32:55Speaker 1: do you give a quarterback before you go and you
- 32:58Speaker 1: draft again?
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah, a couple things in that, Bobby. I'm a believer,
- 33:02Speaker 3: and I remember this was a thing that Al Davis
- 33:05Speaker 3: did and Ron Wolf did and Parcells. I learned from
- 33:08Speaker 3: those folks and their beliefs that draft a quarterback every year.
- 33:12Speaker 3: If you're in a situation, draft a quarterback, whether it's
- 33:14Speaker 3: in the first round, second round, fifth round, seventh round,
- 33:17Speaker 3: draft a quarterback that you can develop in your system
- 33:19Speaker 3: because you will, you never know what you're going to find.
- 33:21Speaker 3: We talked about Matt Castle. There's a seventh round pick
- 33:24Speaker 3: that ended up playing in the league for what, 14
- 33:26Speaker 3: years or maybe even more. You know, Brady, we drafted
- 33:29Speaker 3: in the sixth. So, I believe in drafting quarterbacks every year. Now,
- 33:33Speaker 3: the development is a completely different thing. You know, and
- 33:36Speaker 3: one of the toughest parts right now, Bobby, is the
- 33:39Speaker 3: college game and not even getting into the NIL part
- 33:42Speaker 3: and and all that stuff. But the college game is
- 33:45Speaker 3: so different right now. And, you know, as this was
- 33:49Speaker 3: even happening several years ago, the college game and the
- 33:52Speaker 3: way games are called and the way games are played
- 33:54Speaker 3: in certain ways are very different. It's still football, but
- 33:58Speaker 3: there's certain ways it's different. I've seen quarterbacks that come
- 34:01Speaker 3: into the league now and they've never, ever taken a
- 34:05Speaker 3: snap from under center. They don't know how to take
- 34:08Speaker 3: a snap under center. They've only been in shotgun. They've
- 34:11Speaker 3: only been in spread. And again, I understand that some
- 34:14Speaker 3: of the pro game is played that way, certainly, but
- 34:17Speaker 3: there are times when you need to go under center
- 34:19Speaker 3: and you want the quarterback under center. Another thing is
- 34:22Speaker 3: I've seen quarterbacks, quite honestly, who have never, ever run
- 34:25Speaker 3: a huddle before, Bobby. That sounds crazy. But if you
- 34:28Speaker 3: watch some of these college games, Everyone, all 11 players
- 34:32Speaker 3: on the field, including the quarterback, are looking to the
- 34:34Speaker 3: sidelines for either signals or those giant boards that people
- 34:38Speaker 3: hold up with pictures and numbers and colors. And they
- 34:41Speaker 3: don't even know how to get players in a huddle
- 34:45Speaker 3: and out of a huddle and get lined up and
- 34:47Speaker 3: then see the field. So there's this whole operational thing
- 34:51Speaker 3: that comes on before the ball's even snapped that quarterbacks
- 34:54Speaker 3: aren't being taught to do. And I listened to Brady
- 34:58Speaker 3: and I've had conversations with Brady. And he talks about
- 35:00Speaker 3: the development of the quarterbacks. And when he talks to
- 35:03Speaker 3: young quarterbacks, when I talk to young quarterbacks, when a
- 35:05Speaker 3: lot of NFL people talk to quarterbacks coming out of college,
- 35:10Speaker 3: they've not been taught in depth what coverages are and
- 35:15Speaker 3: how to look for coverage and how to look at
- 35:16Speaker 3: fronts and all the things that change. So I know
- 35:19Speaker 3: this is a long winded. answer to your question, but
- 35:23Speaker 3: you've got to give these guys time. And you've got
- 35:25Speaker 3: to understand that some of them have also been in
- 35:28Speaker 3: situations where they've transferred three times. So even if they
- 35:34Speaker 3: transfer three times, so they're with different coaches, or if
- 35:36Speaker 3: they stay at one school, the way that coordinators and
- 35:39Speaker 3: coaches are fired or leave jobs and go other places,
- 35:43Speaker 3: player development at the quarterback position is no longer what
- 35:47Speaker 3: it used to be. And I think you have to
- 35:49Speaker 3: readjust the model in terms of how you're going to
- 35:52Speaker 3: do things and how you're going to view things and
- 35:54Speaker 3: evaluate your quarterback.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Do you think the Eagles are evaluating Tanner McKee? What
- 36:00Speaker 1: would they be doing in that process now?
- 36:03Speaker 3: Well, I think seeing a player in... Yes, I think
- 36:07Speaker 3: you're always evaluating players, right? And I don't say that
- 36:09Speaker 3: just as a personnel guy. You're always evaluating players. And
- 36:14Speaker 3: when you see a player get reps in... preseason, it's
- 36:19Speaker 3: not the same as the reps in regular season. The
- 36:21Speaker 3: speed of the game is different. The anxiety of the game,
- 36:24Speaker 3: the urgency, the duress, all that stuff is very different.
- 36:27Speaker 3: You're going against bigger, faster, stronger players. The game is
- 36:31Speaker 3: much quicker. You have to think quickly. So I think, yes,
- 36:34Speaker 3: they're evaluating. But again, the good teams are constantly evaluating
- 36:40Speaker 3: all their players, including the it's not just the quarterback.
- 36:43Speaker 3: It's all players. You have to see if a player
- 36:45Speaker 3: is rising or falling. Because again, you've only got 53
- 36:48Speaker 3: spots and you have to think about the now and
- 36:51Speaker 3: the future, Bobby.
- 36:53Speaker 1: So we have massive Patriots fans here and massive Cowboys
- 36:56Speaker 1: fans here. So let's start with the Patriots first. What
- 36:59Speaker 1: a run last year. Is their ceiling about the same
- 37:03Speaker 1: or was that schedule a lot easier last year and
- 37:05Speaker 1: it's going to be a little more difficult this year
- 37:06Speaker 1: for them?
- 37:07Speaker 3: Well, I think a lot of things were different last year.
- 37:09Speaker 3: I mean, it was the timing that they got to
- 37:11Speaker 3: play certain teams when they were at their strongest or
- 37:14Speaker 3: when they were their weakest. I think they are playing
- 37:17Speaker 3: different teams this year. There was a lot of different energy.
- 37:21Speaker 3: And I know people want to run to the quarterback
- 37:23Speaker 3: and run to Drake May. And I mean, Bobby, it
- 37:26Speaker 3: was crazy when I was watching and listening because we
- 37:28Speaker 3: still live in Massachusetts. You know, listening to all of
- 37:33Speaker 3: what was being said about Drake May, not only locally, but,
- 37:36Speaker 3: you know, nationally. And here's the thing with quarterbacks. You know,
- 37:40Speaker 3: Drake was there. He had a new offensive coordinator. They're
- 37:42Speaker 3: doing a lot of different things. And what happens is
- 37:46Speaker 3: defenses don't always know how to prepare for the bag
- 37:49Speaker 3: of tricks and the system that a quarterback's going to
- 37:53Speaker 3: be running, right? That's why sometimes we always talk about
- 37:55Speaker 3: the backup quarterback being the most popular quarterback on every team,
- 38:00Speaker 3: because when they come in, defenses don't know exactly what
- 38:03Speaker 3: the play calls are going to be. Defenders don't know
- 38:06Speaker 3: exactly what's going to be run. So last year, I
- 38:08Speaker 3: think that the Patriots had some of that as well.
- 38:12Speaker 3: This year, When things started, I think that there was
- 38:15Speaker 3: a period of time where this is what defensive coordinators
- 38:17Speaker 3: and defensive players and coaches spend their entire offseason doing.
- 38:22Speaker 3: They find the players that are the best players and
- 38:24Speaker 3: the quarterbacks and other teams, and they try to find
- 38:26Speaker 3: their kryptonite. And they attack those players early on. So
- 38:30Speaker 3: Drake May was not playing his best football, but there
- 38:34Speaker 3: was also this other element, what other teams were doing, right?
- 38:37Speaker 3: That's what impacts how well a player is playing too.
- 38:40Speaker 3: But I think Josh McDaniels is a very, very smart coordinator.
- 38:44Speaker 3: He learned under some incredible people. I mean, Charlie Weiss
- 38:47Speaker 3: and Ernie Adams and Bill Belichick. And he learned on
- 38:50Speaker 3: some really, really good football coaches. And he knows that
- 38:54Speaker 3: he has to do things that are that his quarterback
- 38:57Speaker 3: can do. And I think he learned that last year.
- 39:00Speaker 3: This year, as things change. He had to learn and
- 39:04Speaker 3: adjust as to what Drake can do and what some
- 39:07Speaker 3: of Drake's limitations are and or some weaknesses in some
- 39:10Speaker 3: things he was doing. So I think watching the Patriots
- 39:13Speaker 3: this year, this is an evolution. And this is what
- 39:15Speaker 3: great quarterbacks do, right? They evolve over time. They develop
- 39:20Speaker 3: over time. Drake May is still a young guy. He
- 39:23Speaker 3: is a young quarterback who's still developing. And I think
- 39:26Speaker 3: the Patriots are going to be fine. And I think
- 39:28Speaker 3: Mike Rabel is a heck of a football coach. So
- 39:33Speaker 3: the Patriots are going to be in a good place.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Things are different this year. But, you know, last year
- 39:37Speaker 3: was was a great season. Not all seasons are the
- 39:39Speaker 3: same for a lot of reasons.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Do the Cowboys now because, man, their offense looks great
- 39:44Speaker 1: at times. Do they even have 11 men on defense?
- 39:46Speaker 3: Why are we talking about the Cowboys? We're talking about
- 39:48Speaker 3: the Cowboys because there's Cowboys fans in Nashville?
- 39:52Speaker 1: Well, my co-host here is a massive Cowboys fan. And
- 39:56Speaker 1: so I don't know.
- 39:57Speaker 4: My apologies.
- 39:58Speaker 1: They got to do something on the defensive side of
- 40:00Speaker 1: the ball, right? Do you expect them to make any
- 40:01Speaker 1: sort of move, though?
- 40:02Speaker 3: You know, here's the thing is I don't know if
- 40:04Speaker 3: I expect them, but here's what I do know is
- 40:06Speaker 3: I know Jerry Jones is always open for business. And
- 40:10Speaker 3: he's always looking to improve his football team. He has
- 40:13Speaker 3: ideas and is thinking about things that others aren't thinking about.
- 40:17Speaker 3: But then he's also thinking about some of the suggestions
- 40:19Speaker 3: he hears out.
- 40:20Speaker 4: In the universe. So I don't know.
- 40:23Speaker 3: To expect that you know what Jerry Jones is going
- 40:27Speaker 3: to do, and I say this with the greatest respect,
- 40:29Speaker 3: I don't think any of us know. Could they do
- 40:32Speaker 3: something to improve their football team? I'm sure they can.
- 40:34Speaker 3: Do I think he's looking into it? I sure do.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I think that Jerry also has a lot of people,
- 40:40Speaker 3: not only within the organization that he relies on for information,
- 40:42Speaker 3: but there's people outside the organization that have their hands
- 40:47Speaker 3: on the pulse or their fingers on the pulse of
- 40:48Speaker 3: a lot of different players and circumstances and situations, and
- 40:52Speaker 3: he pays attention to that. I could see them doing something.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I could also see them... Here's the funny thing about trades. Bobby,
- 40:59Speaker 3: I can't tell you how many times... over the course
- 41:02Speaker 3: of my NFL years, that we were involved in trade
- 41:05Speaker 3: discussions and the world never knew about it. And there's
- 41:10Speaker 3: a lot of teams that are talking right now and
- 41:13Speaker 3: we just don't know about it. The time that you
- 41:15Speaker 3: usually find out, that the world finds out about it,
- 41:17Speaker 3: is when an agent finds out and they've got to
- 41:20Speaker 3: tell their friends in the media what's going on.
- 41:23Speaker 1: One last thing. We just saw Jeffrey Simmons went to
- 41:26Speaker 1: the Bears for a couple first-round picks yesterday. Now, we
- 41:29Speaker 1: live here where the Titans are, and man, they've just
- 41:31Speaker 1: been bad. I mean, Vrabel had them to a pretty,
- 41:33Speaker 1: about as high as he can have the Titans, he
- 41:35Speaker 1: had the Titans for a bit of a span there.
- 41:37Speaker 1: But it's hopeless. It feels hopeless here. It's hard to
- 41:41Speaker 1: create new Titans fans because there's no winning happening. How
- 41:45Speaker 1: do you feel about, it was Jeffrey Simmons to the
- 41:47Speaker 1: Bears for two first round picks. Not sure because it
- 41:49Speaker 1: just happened. It's unfair to throw this on you. But
- 41:51Speaker 1: how do you feel about when you hear that?
- 41:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, wow, you're right. It's right on me.
- 41:57Speaker 3: But here's what I think. The Bears have a window
- 42:00Speaker 3: that's very open right now, meaning they are right on
- 42:03Speaker 3: the cusp. This makes sense because he is a dominant
- 42:06Speaker 3: force and a dominant player that's really going to help them.
- 42:10Speaker 3: I'm also thinking about the relationship between Ryan Poles, the
- 42:13Speaker 3: GM of the Bears, and Mike Borgonzi, the GM of
- 42:17Speaker 3: the Tennessee Titans, who I have a ton of respect for.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Interesting side note, I hired both Poles and Borgonzi in
- 42:24Speaker 3: 2009 as entry-level guys at the Kansas City Chiefs. They
- 42:28Speaker 3: were both working in the Boston College recruiting department. So
- 42:31Speaker 3: they have a long-standing relationship and knowledge of one another.
- 42:36Speaker 3: When I think of the Titans and Mike Borgonzi in
- 42:38Speaker 3: that situation, I think it makes sense. I think it
- 42:43Speaker 3: makes sense because I think here's what's clear about the
- 42:45Speaker 3: Tennessee Titans. They need a lot of things fixed. And
- 42:48Speaker 3: by accumulating currency, meaning draft picks, I think that gives
- 42:53Speaker 3: them hope for the future. You're right. The Titans haven't
- 42:57Speaker 3: been the same since Mike Rabel left. There's been a
- 43:01Speaker 3: lot of turnover. There's been a lot of things. But
- 43:04Speaker 3: I'll say this, not just because Mike Borgonzi is a friend.
- 43:07Speaker 3: It's just because I know how smart Mike is. I
- 43:10Speaker 3: know how hardworking he is. I know how driven he is.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I know how good he is. So if I'm a
- 43:15Speaker 3: Tennessee Titan fan, I believe in Mike Borgonzi, and I
- 43:19Speaker 3: would remain encouraged as a Titans fan. You hate to
- 43:22Speaker 3: see good players traded, but in that role of general manager,
- 43:25Speaker 3: you not only have to be thinking about the now,
- 43:28Speaker 3: you have to be thinking about the future, right? You're
- 43:31Speaker 3: not trying to put your coach and team and players
- 43:34Speaker 3: in a situation where they're going to fail. That's not
- 43:36Speaker 3: what you're trying to do when you do this. But
- 43:38Speaker 3: you also have to be smart from a business standpoint,
- 43:41Speaker 3: to accumulate the right currency, manage your salary cap, and
- 43:45Speaker 3: have good football players. Again, I believe in Mike.
- 43:49Speaker 4: I know Mike.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I trust Mike. I think Borgonzi is going to do
- 43:53Speaker 3: the right thing. And, hey, good for the Bears and
- 43:55Speaker 3: good for Poles, man, because that's a heck of an acquisition.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Does it help when the two GMs know each other?
- 44:01Speaker 1: Does it make a deal go through faster?
- 44:02Speaker 3: Oh. So here's what I think it does, Bobby. I
- 44:05Speaker 3: think what it does is there's trust involved here because
- 44:08Speaker 3: sometimes if you're trading a player, I know people who
- 44:11Speaker 3: have tried to trade players who maybe have issues, have circumstances,
- 44:15Speaker 3: have injuries that. I don't want to say people lie,
- 44:21Speaker 3: but they withhold some information. And I think when you
- 44:24Speaker 3: have a friend that you're doing business with in the league,
- 44:29Speaker 3: you know, I think about all the people that I
- 44:31Speaker 3: knew and I did good business with. you know, you
- 44:35Speaker 3: trust that what's being done is being done honestly and truthfully.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Here's the other thing is, you know, we've seen these situations.
- 44:45Speaker 3: There was a high profile situation where a team traded
- 44:48Speaker 3: a player and they went to the team and didn't
- 44:51Speaker 3: pass the physical. And, you know, when that happens and
- 44:56Speaker 3: the trade is out there, A lot of damage can
- 44:59Speaker 3: be done to your locker room and your team if
- 45:01Speaker 3: you have to take a player back and the team
- 45:04Speaker 3: has a GM and a front office that skunks you
- 45:08Speaker 3: on the physical and then you have to take that
- 45:11Speaker 3: player back. You know, again, so having a relationship and
- 45:16Speaker 3: a friendship can certainly help things from a trade standpoint
- 45:21Speaker 3: or just doing business on a lot of levels.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Well, Scott, when you come on this show or if
- 45:26Speaker 1: I'm filling in for Rich Eisen or whatever the case is,
- 45:29Speaker 1: I really value our once a year conversation. I don't
- 45:31Speaker 1: want everyone to take advantage of it. So thank you
- 45:33Speaker 1: for coming on. And I always love talking to you.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I feel like If I'm ever in Boston, I may
- 45:38Speaker 1: just hit you up and go, hey, you want to
- 45:39Speaker 1: have some food so I can ask you like some
- 45:40Speaker 1: real questions?
- 45:41Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Hey, I'm a fat guy.
- 45:43Speaker 4: I love Bobby.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Bobby, I tell you, this once a year thing, I
- 45:46Speaker 3: told Erica, you know, to Erica Levine, I'll do more
- 45:51Speaker 3: than once a year. I love being on with you
- 45:53Speaker 3: because you ask such good, thoughtful questions and great follow-ups.
- 45:56Speaker 3: So I appreciate you more than you realize. I'm not
- 45:58Speaker 3: being fanboy here. Let's do more than once a year, man, please.
- 46:02Speaker 3: I'd love it.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Scott, thank you so much. Hope you have a great
- 46:04Speaker 1: rest of the week. And yeah, hopefully we'll talk soon
- 46:07Speaker 1: before late October of next year.
- 46:09Speaker 3: I appreciate that.

- 47:29Speaker 1: Okay, how many countries has the NFL played in? Eddie,
- 47:34Speaker 1: how many can you name?
- 47:35Speaker 7: Okay.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Do you want me to just name the country? Go.
- 47:39Speaker 1: One at a time.
- 47:40Speaker 4: France?
- 47:41Speaker 1: One.
- 47:42Speaker 7: Brazil?
- 47:43Speaker 1: Two.
- 47:45Speaker 5: Germany?
- 47:45Speaker 7: Three. England?
- 47:49Speaker 1: United Kingdom, four.
- 47:49Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. United Kingdom. Oh, so United Kingdom,
- 47:53Speaker 4: is that Ireland, too?
- 47:55Speaker 1: No.
- 47:55Speaker 4: Okay. And they've done how many? Five?
- 47:59Speaker 1: You've done four so far.
- 48:00Speaker 4: You've said four. How many have they done?
- 48:01Speaker 1: I haven't told you. They've done way more than that.
- 48:03Speaker 7: Oh, they have?
- 48:04Speaker 4: I feel like I'm out of them. Have they done... Oh, Mexico. Five.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Give me Mexico, baby. Have we done Canada? Have we
- 48:15Speaker 4: played in.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Why would you say that about Canada in that weird accent?
- 48:19Speaker 4: I don't know. Have we played in Canada? Like a
- 48:23Speaker 4: little exhibition game in Toronto?
- 48:26Speaker 1: Are you going with Canada?
- 48:27Speaker 4: No, you're trying to lead me there. No, I'm not.
- 48:30Speaker 1: You literally said it.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Have we played Australia? Australia.
- 48:38Speaker 7: Six.
- 48:39Speaker 1: There are three more.
- 48:40Speaker 4: Oh, three more? Okay, we played in Canada. Back in
- 48:43Speaker 4: the day.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Is that your answer?
- 48:44Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, back in the day.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Seven.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Yes.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Nice, dude.
- 48:48Speaker 1: There are two more. One of them you said and
- 48:54Speaker 1: then you never went back to.
- 48:55Speaker 4: I said it?
- 48:56Speaker 7: Yes.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Yes.
- 48:58Speaker 4: But did you correct me by saying United Kingdom?
- 49:03Speaker 1: No.
- 49:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 49:04Speaker 1: You said England.
- 49:05Speaker 3: Got it.
- 49:06Speaker 1: And that UK counts as that.
- 49:07Speaker 4: I got it.
- 49:09Speaker 5: Morocco.
- 49:10Speaker 1: No, I'm kidding.
- 49:12Speaker 4: Kenya. Give me Ireland.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Correct. Eight.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Wow.
- 49:16Speaker 6: Come on.
- 49:18Speaker 1: There's one you have not... mentioned.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Could it be Kenya? Have they played in, like, South Africa?
- 49:27Speaker 4: Let me think. Let me think. Let me think. Let
- 49:28Speaker 4: me think. Ooh, Russia. That'd be crazy, dude. NFL game
- 49:32Speaker 4: in Russia. In Moscow. I'm out of countries, dude.
- 49:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:41Speaker 1: I kind of forget which one you haven't said, but
- 49:43Speaker 1: I think the one you haven't said is a European country.
- 49:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Oh!
- 49:47Speaker 4: I said Germany, right?
- 49:50Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 49:50Speaker 4: I said Germany, and I said England, and I said Ireland,
- 49:56Speaker 4: and then they've also played in... What else is over there? Scotland. No.
- 50:03Speaker 4: Dang it!
- 50:04Speaker 1: That's UK. I believe Scotland's part of the UK.
- 50:06Speaker 4: Dang, okay.
- 50:07Speaker 1: So is Ireland, I thought. No, Ireland's not part of
- 50:09Speaker 1: the UK.
- 50:09Speaker 4: It's not?
- 50:09Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Okay. I'm pretty sure Scotland's UK, right?
- 50:14Speaker 7: Yes, it is.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Like Wales, Scotland.
- 50:16Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 50:17Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 50:17Speaker 4: All that stuff?
- 50:18Speaker 3: England.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Okay, so I need one more left. And you said
- 50:21Speaker 4: it's European.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Because there's two. I don't remember you saying either one
- 50:24Speaker 1: of these, but one you did. But they're both in Europe.
- 50:27Speaker 1: So there's one that you haven't said.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Czechoslovakia. Switzerland. Hungary. Maybe they played in Hungary. Oh, oh,
- 50:40Speaker 4: did they play in, not Germany, but what's the one
- 50:43Speaker 4: you like where you had the best hot dog there, dude?
- 50:46Speaker 1: Oh, that's Germany.
- 50:47Speaker 5: No.
- 50:47Speaker 4: Yes. No, the other one.
- 50:48Speaker 1: No, that's Germany.
- 50:50Speaker 4: They played in Austria.
- 50:51Speaker 1: But I had the hot dog in Germany.
- 50:52Speaker 4: Okay.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Going to Austria.
- 50:54Speaker 4: But you love Austria.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Austria, yeah.
- 50:56Speaker 4: Wonderful?
- 50:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty great.
- 50:58Speaker 4: And what was so good about the hot dog in Germany?
- 51:00Speaker 4: It was in Germany. Yeah, what was so good about that?
- 51:02Speaker 1: They're good at hot dogs in Germany. They're not called
- 51:04Speaker 1: hot dogs, they're called brats.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Got it.
- 51:06Speaker 7: Yeah, no.
- 51:08Speaker 4: Are they called Brats?
- 51:09Speaker 1: No, you're not right.
- 51:10Speaker 7: It's not Austria.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Oh, it's not Austria.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Kevin, you know the one we haven't said?
- 51:12Speaker 4: I do.
- 51:13Speaker 7: Go ahead.
- 51:14Speaker 6: You want me to say it?
- 51:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:16Speaker 6: Madrid.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Spain.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Oh, España, the motherland. How did I not get that? Wow,
- 51:23Speaker 4: and that was this year too, right? Didn't they play
- 51:25Speaker 4: in Spain this year?
- 51:25Speaker 1: I think the motherland.
- 51:26Speaker 6: I think last year.
- 51:26Speaker 4: That's where my family's from. I'm a Garcias. The Garcias
- 51:29Speaker 4: came from Spain.
- 51:30Speaker 1: I think you just say stuff sometimes.
- 51:31Speaker 4: No, man, really.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I think your Spain is Kevin's balls.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:37Speaker 4: Are you opposing?
- 51:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:39Speaker 4: No, no, no. My dad, Garcia, that side of the family,
- 51:42Speaker 4: they're Spaniards. Yes. And my mom's side, they are not Spaniards.
- 51:48Speaker 4: What are they? They're native Mexicans.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Got it. Yeah.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Like Aztecs. Why don't you believe me? I don't know, man.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I just feel like sometimes you just say stuff.
- 51:59Speaker 4: No, like Sergio Garcia. You know Sergio Garcia, the golfer?
- 52:01Speaker 1: He's from Spain.
- 52:02Speaker 4: He's from Spain.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that.
- 52:03Speaker 4: He's a Garcia.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Are you sure you just didn't see that and say Spain?
- 52:07Speaker 4: No, it's all in my 23andMe.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Do your kids have fun when they play sports?
- 52:13Speaker 5: Yes. Yes.
- 52:15Speaker 4: And I think that's a problem.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Oh, it's a bad thing.
- 52:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's a bad thing. Because when I
- 52:20Speaker 4: watch these athletes on TV, LeBron, does LeBron look like
- 52:24Speaker 4: he's having fun playing sports? No, he doesn't. Michael Jordan
- 52:27Speaker 4: didn't look like he was having fun playing. They were
- 52:29Speaker 4: so serious. When they scored, like, someone scores a touchdown, whatever.
- 52:34Speaker 4: It's like, yeah! They're not smiling. My kids are smiling
- 52:37Speaker 4: nonstop when they're playing sports.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Isn't that what you want?
- 52:41Speaker 4: I do, but I mean, they're not going to become
- 52:44Speaker 4: the greatest if they're not intense about it.
- 52:47Speaker 1: I would argue, if you allow.
- 52:49Speaker 5: Go ahead.
- 52:50Speaker 1: That you want your kid to have fun playing sports
- 52:53Speaker 1: because generally you get better at things you love doing.
- 52:56Speaker 1: And there's probably an age and a maturity level where
- 53:00Speaker 1: focus is imperative to success. And I think they're learning
- 53:03Speaker 1: focus right now as they're also learning to play the sport.
- 53:07Speaker 1: If they weren't having fun, I don't think they would
- 53:09Speaker 1: ever invest the emotional energy into getting better at it.
- 53:15Speaker 1: I think you want them to love it so much
- 53:17Speaker 1: that it's all they can think about. that they are
- 53:20Speaker 1: so having fun doing it that they then want to
- 53:22Speaker 1: dedicate themselves to it.
- 53:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 53:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:24Speaker 4: I want them off the field, off the court being like, yeah,
- 53:28Speaker 4: that's so awesome. I'm having fun doing it. But when
- 53:30Speaker 4: you're on the court, stop smiling. I don't know.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I don't hate it.
- 53:33Speaker 4: All three of them are smiling.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Do they smile when they lose?
- 53:36Speaker 3: No.
- 53:37Speaker 5: No, no.
- 53:37Speaker 4: They get upset when they lose. But like if, for example,
- 53:41Speaker 4: playing basketball. One drained a three the other day. And
- 53:44Speaker 4: what did he do? Smiled real big. He waved at us.
- 53:47Speaker 4: I'm like, get back, play defense. What are you doing?
- 53:50Speaker 4: Another kid, a really good kid on their team. He
- 53:52Speaker 4: drained a three. What did he do? Nothing. Ran back,
- 53:55Speaker 4: got ready for defense. And I was like, that's what
- 53:57Speaker 4: he needs to do. You need to be serious out there.
- 54:00Speaker 4: And then parents come up to me like, I love
- 54:02Speaker 4: your son. All he does is smile. I'm like, gosh,
- 54:04Speaker 4: I hate that. Stop smiling when you're playing sports, dude.
- 54:08Speaker 1: If they were miserable, they would never be I think
- 54:11Speaker 1: I would rather have that than the other way.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:14Speaker 4: I have to think about it because I see these
- 54:17Speaker 4: really good players, man, and maybe internally they're having fun,
- 54:20Speaker 4: but externally they're not celebrating.
- 54:22Speaker 1: And they'll get to that point.
- 54:23Speaker 4: My one son does the gritty every time he scores.
- 54:25Speaker 4: I'm like, dude, get back.
- 54:27Speaker 6: What are you doing?
- 54:28Speaker 1: How old?
- 54:29Speaker 4: He's a little one, seven.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Right, that's fine. If he's 12, that's a problem.
- 54:34Speaker 6: If he's in high school doing it, yes.
- 54:36Speaker 1: If he's seven, that's okay.
- 54:37Speaker 3: Got it.
- 54:38Speaker 1: That's fine. Yeah, I think it's great.
- 54:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 54:40Speaker 1: Kevin said he saw someone driving a Tesla, except they
- 54:43Speaker 1: were asleep while it was driving them here in town.
- 54:45Speaker 4: No way.
- 54:46Speaker 6: At the wheel. Yeah, I'm driving to work, and I'm
- 54:48Speaker 6: just driving. I look over, and it looks like somebody's
- 54:50Speaker 6: leaned back.
- 54:51Speaker 4: I'm like, what the heck? Where's the driver?
- 54:52Speaker 6: He is legit sleeping as a Tesla is driving him.
- 54:56Speaker 6: And I know that's normal. Teslas can take you to
- 54:59Speaker 6: a destination.
- 55:00Speaker 4: But here?
- 55:01Speaker 3: I'd never seen that.
- 55:01Speaker 1: I didn't know that here that could happen. I know
- 55:03Speaker 1: that it's clear for those Waymos to do that.
- 55:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I didn't know just a normal driving human bought Tesla,
- 55:10Speaker 1: privately bought Tesla, was able to drive you while you
- 55:14Speaker 1: were asleep.
- 55:15Speaker 6: I only know that because a neighbor of mine like
- 55:17Speaker 6: six months ago told me it drove him from here
- 55:19Speaker 6: to Knoxville.
- 55:21Speaker 1: And that I know because I've seen people with the
- 55:24Speaker 1: driver assist on where they don't have to do anything.
- 55:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:27Speaker 1: However, I thought it would like make sure you're awake.
- 55:31Speaker 6: I'm... 90% sure this guy was sleeping.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Did you honk at him like, hey, wake up?
- 55:36Speaker 6: No, because I don't want to scare him and then
- 55:37Speaker 6: cause a crash. That wouldn't be good.
- 55:40Speaker 4: Good point.
- 55:41Speaker 1: I've still not been in a Waymo.
- 55:42Speaker 6: Double check. I haven't been on here, only in San Francisco.
- 55:45Speaker 4: That counts, though.
- 55:46Speaker 6: Okay, then yeah.
- 55:47Speaker 4: What were the differences?
- 55:48Speaker 6: I was just saying, so yeah, I've been in one.
- 55:50Speaker 1: You?
- 55:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I went with Kevin. Oh, that's right. I think
- 55:52Speaker 4: it was Brandon, you too. That's three. So you're the
- 55:55Speaker 4: only one.
- 55:55Speaker 1: I haven't, but I had a Tesla that was self-driving,
- 55:57Speaker 1: so I've got a little bit of that. It's not
- 55:59Speaker 1: the full Waymo, but when I had the Tesla... The
- 56:02Speaker 1: rules were a little different. It would drive you, but
- 56:04Speaker 1: you had to keep your hands close to the wheel.
- 56:06Speaker 1: And every little bit, I'd go by and be like,
- 56:08Speaker 1: touch the wheel. But it would drive me, but way
- 56:11Speaker 1: different than if you're in the back seat, for sure.
- 56:13Speaker 4: Dude, would you be able to sleep in the back
- 56:15Speaker 4: of one of these things?
- 56:16Speaker 1: Depends how tired I was.
- 56:18Speaker 4: Like, I can't sleep when my wife's driving.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Probably safer in a Waymo. And no offense to your wife.
- 56:23Speaker 1: I'm just saying in general.
- 56:24Speaker 4: Yeah, women.
- 56:25Speaker 1: No, not women either. No, no, no. I'm talking about
- 56:29Speaker 1: humans versus no.
- 56:30Speaker 4: That's not what I meant.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Not about your wife. Not about women. None of that.
- 56:35Speaker 6: Have you guys seen the gold ones? Teslas around yet?
- 56:37Speaker 6: Those are the ones that like make money for you,
- 56:39Speaker 6: work for you. Basically a Waymo where they pick people
- 56:44Speaker 6: up and you buy a gold Tesla from what I understand.
- 56:46Speaker 6: I haven't done a whole lot of digging on it.
- 56:49Speaker 1: And then Wait, we can buy a gold Tesla and
- 56:51Speaker 1: just send it out to work?
- 56:51Speaker 6: It's like a certain type of Tesla, yeah, that Elon
- 56:54Speaker 6: created where it works for you. Like it goes and
- 56:56Speaker 6: picks people up. So you basically buy this car and have.
- 56:59Speaker 4: It work for you. So it's like owning your own Waymo?
- 57:03Speaker 6: Pretty much, yeah.
- 57:03Speaker 1: If that's true, you can count me into having one
- 57:06Speaker 1: later this afternoon.
- 57:07Speaker 4: Maybe I'm totally wrong. And then, hey, can you put
- 57:10Speaker 4: advertisements on it?
- 57:10Speaker 1: Let me ask here. Hey, is there a thing in
- 57:16Speaker 1: Nashville or in general America— Where you buy a gold
- 57:18Speaker 1: Tesla and then it just goes and does the work
- 57:20Speaker 1: for you?
- 57:21Speaker 4: Kevin, this better be real. Let me take a look.
- 57:29Speaker 5: Checking whether that matches Tesla's robo taxi service and whether
- 57:33Speaker 5: it's available in Nashville. That sounds like Tesla's gold two-seat
- 57:40Speaker 5: cyber cab. That's meant to be a driverless taxi that
- 57:44Speaker 5: earns fares while you're not using it. but it's not
- 57:46Speaker 5: a buy one and start earning set up yet. And
- 57:49Speaker 5: not in Nashville right now.
- 57:53Speaker 6: I've seen two.
- 57:55Speaker 4: You've seen two in town?
- 57:56Speaker 6: I've seen two around Nashville, yes.
- 57:57Speaker 4: But could they be getting them ready for Nashville and
- 58:00Speaker 4: by doing trial runs?
- 58:00Speaker 1: Yeah, they're getting them ready for that loop they're building.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 58:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm watching it and there's a nurse who's asleep
- 58:08Speaker 3: right there.
- 58:10Speaker 4: She's had a rough... She's just asleep. A rough shift.
- 58:12Speaker 1: In the front seat. Is that their advertisement?
- 58:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Uh... Okay.
- 58:17Speaker 4: I was going to go buy one.
- 58:18Speaker 1: I can't. For sure.
- 58:19Speaker 4: He's getting on the waiting list right now.
- 58:21Speaker 6: It says in 2027 for private buyers.
- 58:23Speaker 1: Say how much it costs.
- 58:24Speaker 4: $ 30, 000.
- 58:24Speaker 3: What? That's it?
- 58:26Speaker 4: That's it at all?
- 58:27Speaker 1: Dang, you got 30G laying around?
- 58:28Speaker 4: I can buy it in 2027.
- 58:29Speaker 6: Hey, Eddie, want to go in?
- 58:31Speaker 1: Half and half? Like the cow?
- 58:33Speaker 4: We've done a cow. Let's do a Tesla.
- 58:35Speaker 1: You can make 20 to 30 cents per mile. How's
- 58:37Speaker 1: the cow coming?
- 58:38Speaker 4: February.
- 58:40Speaker 6: I think April.
- 58:41Speaker 4: Oh, dang.
- 58:42Speaker 6: Can you say April last year?
- 58:43Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 58:43Speaker 4: No, it's February.
- 58:44Speaker 5: February.
- 58:45Speaker 4: I've never said April. Trouble. Oh, okay. Now I can
- 58:48Speaker 4: text the guy and make sure, but yeah.
- 58:50Speaker 6: Hey, February sounds better to me because that's sooner.
- 58:53Speaker 4: I still don't have a freezer, though.
- 58:54Speaker 6: It's your contact, not mine.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta get a freezer, dude.
- 58:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I gotta get a freezer, too. We can go
- 58:58Speaker 6: half on a freezer, too.
- 59:00Speaker 1: You want to go half on everything?
- 59:01Speaker 4: How much room is in the freezers here?
- 59:03Speaker 6: Yeah, we can create everything.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Eddie, I would let you buy out of our skins team.
- 59:07Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 59:09Speaker 4: Buy out? At what price?
- 59:12Speaker 1: Because we're down about $ 2, 000 right now.
- 59:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 59:14Speaker 4: Okay. Kevin, don't you feel great?
- 59:17Speaker 6: No, because I don't want you guys to lose money either.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I would buy out because I don't feel like we're
- 59:21Speaker 1: going to lose that much money. We might. We might.
- 59:24Speaker 4: Wait, say that again? You wouldn't buy out?
- 59:26Speaker 1: No, I would. So right now you own 20% of
- 59:28Speaker 1: the team.
- 59:29Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 59:30Speaker 4: So this is going to be tough. How much do
- 59:32Speaker 4: we owe?
- 59:33Speaker 1: Okay, so 10% of $ 2, 000. Is $ 20.
- 59:35Speaker 4: Is $ 200.
- 59:35Speaker 1: So you owe $ 400 right now.
- 59:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll wait it out.
- 59:39Speaker 1: But it could go up.
- 59:41Speaker 4: I think we're going to do better.
- 59:42Speaker 1: For $ 600, I'll let you buy out and be done
- 59:44Speaker 1: with it. $ 600? Well, it's only $ 200 more. You could
- 59:47Speaker 1: lose a lot more.
- 59:48Speaker 4: I'm riding, baby. Hey, I want to ride with you
- 59:50Speaker 4: guys all the way.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Okay, just making sure.
- 59:51Speaker 4: All the way.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Just making sure. I would let you buy out, though,
- 59:54Speaker 1: if you wanted to. It's been a struggle because the
- 59:56Speaker 1: Browns and the Steelers. Well, the Cowboys, too.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:58Speaker 4: But I feel like— And the Ravens' injury. I mean,
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: that's been tough.
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: But they still have a winning record, so they've got wins.
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: What if Eddie bought out and then I bought in?
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: You want to trade? I just feel like there's— You
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: want to go half on it, and then you go
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: in and I go out?
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I feel like there's good positive room here that if
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: you wanted to buy out, I would let you, and
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: then I'll just own the other 20% of your team.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Nah, I want to ride with you guys. Okay.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: It could get worse, though.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm prepared for that.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: It's only 20% this year, though, too, which is different
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: than the 33 you had last year.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: Dude, if it goes worse, I will never get this Tesla.
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: Or 25%.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: The Tesla's pretty, that's pretty sick. I know. I think
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: everybody's going to be trying.
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: To buy on there.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: You're not going to be able to get any.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: That's who you know, right?
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Well, I don't know Elon.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: Well, I'm sure we know someone who knows someone. Who's we?
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Who's we?
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: Say it.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: You and me.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: We.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: All of a sudden, it's a we.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: He said we.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: He had to slide it in there. There we go.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: All right, that's it. Thank you, guys. We will see
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: you early next week.
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: Eddie.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Can we blow the whistle?
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Oh, I got it. No, we. You want to blow
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: it together? Let's blow it.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Blow it together, guys.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Come on. No, we.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: It's a universal we. Everything I do, you do. Everything
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: you do, I do. Everything's we now.
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: All right.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: See you guys. Hit it.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: All right.
