- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans welcome in to dovall daily presented by Gen. Jag.com and fueled by brass tax coffee.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: It is Monday, October 12th.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, it is a victory Monday.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: But we're talking Jaguar's offensive standouts from a game in which the offense only scored 19 points.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Despite that,
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think there were a lot of really good offensive performances.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to get into that right here and right now.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: There's a couple players outside of Trevor Lawrence right now that I think are clearly the offensive MVP's for the Jaguar so far this year.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: And both of those players stood out in a very big way in this game against the Eagles.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you'd be remiss to not start it off with Parker Washington.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: which just like what an unbelievable player he has developed into.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Unbelievable.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: What he is able to do for this Jaguar's offense weekend and week out will talk about his performance in the rest of these first.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: Got to remind y'all if you enjoy the content all jacks all the time.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: Please like and subscribe, can also hit that high button.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: So Parker Washington, nine targets, six catches, 124 yards, two touchdowns, an average of 20.7 yards per catch, a long 51, which was of course the pivotal catch in this game, a great throw from Trevor Lawrence, an unbelievable adjustment to the football in the air.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Again's Rick Wolen, a very big defender.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: Um, for Parker Washington on that play, the go ahead score in the fourth quarter for the Jaguars, Parker Washington, Carouset with one hand, insane play, his first touchdown.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Short pass on the run, very good play design.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: You not only have Jacobi Myers blocking his butt off-down field, but Brian Thomas Jr. also delivers a key block getting in the way of a defender that probably would have had an angle on the football, Parker Washington, does the rest scores from far, was that the 50, actually?
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, let's see here.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: The 51-yarder was the catch and run.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: The touchdown at the end, that was the one, how long was that?
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: The touchdown in the fourth quarter was 27 yards, excuse me, a 27-yard grab, it was in the air a lot longer than that or a lot farther than that, but a 27-yard grab from Parker Washington, for that go ahead, score the 51-yard catch and run.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: which was great blocking, very good play design, great effort by Parker Washington to beat his man with the ball and then the blockers downfield the receiver is kind of doing the rest on that one.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, great, great football player.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's time for the Jaguar as the pay him.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: Playing out of his mind right now.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: He is a short threat, he's an intermediate threat, he's a deep threat, contested catch guy, Yack guy, runs great routes, especially over the middle of the field.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: They need to pay him.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: They have to, right?
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to, I feel very confident about that.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: That he will be in Jacksonville long term, and we look at these wide receiver contracts all the time.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: But the way he's playing,
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think you got to put him up there, let's see.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look at the rest of the wide receivers in the NFL and their contracts.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Just because it's coming to a head where like this needs to get done, it needs to get done.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: This contract for Parker Washington, it just has to be a long-term deal.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: You keep in mind Jacksonville, he's 24 years old, he is playing legitimate wide receiver one football for the Jaguars.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Zay Flowers with the 35 million, I think you put him right there, absolutely.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: age, because this contract is coming in after the Zaflauer's contract, go for it.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing that well for the Jaguar, so that dynamic of a player, that important of a player to the Jaguar's offense to Trevor Lawrence.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: The numbers he's putting up this year, I mean, he's got in five games, he has 352 yards and four touchdowns.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: He could have a whole lot more than that if the Jaguars weren't up by so much against a couple of the teams early in the season.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Great football player.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Basial Tutan, another offensive MVP for the Jaguars so far.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: the, I mentioned with Parker Washington kind of has it all.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: Washington doesn't have the height that you'd like obviously just from a prototypical standpoint, but he makes big plays like a big receiver.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't really care too much about that, uh, tootin though, physically,
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: I guess he could ask for him to be 225, 230 pounds, right?
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: But he's a shorter stature back, which I like the backs that are lowered to the ground.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: It gives him a better center of gravity, contact balance.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: He plays tough, he plays physical.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: There's not much from a physical standpoint that he does not provide you right now.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: For the Jack Wars, he's running the ball so strong.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: He, what I love about him,
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: Beyond like his ability to jump cut his ability to make people miss his speed to the line of skirmish the way he's seeing it he runs physical he runs tough he runs through tackles he gets yards that are not there consistently and he did that again in this game against a really really physical Eagles defense basal to the numbers aren't like eye popping and this one for him he had 72 rushing yards
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: That was more than what he should have had in this game.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: He had 73 yards after contact.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: 3.3, 2 yards after contact per attempt.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: He was forcing Miss Tackles.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: He was running through tackles.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Even the tackles he wasn't breaking.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: He was carrying those guys forward.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: He was getting extra yardage even after the contact point.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Even when he wasn't breaking the tackles.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: He is such a good football player.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: Some of his runs got called back because of holding penalties and, you know, even though I think the offensive line settled in and from a past protection standpoint in the second half, I think that in the second half, they obviously got called for a lot of holding penalties, which was frustrating for Putin and for the offense.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the way Bacial Tutan is playing is at a all-pro level.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: There's not many backs out there that I think are better than him right now, especially in this offense, and that's amazing.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like we've talked about, you know, maybe the Jaguar is being a buyer for a running back at the trade deadline or in the draft next year.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they could be.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: Still, but the way Basel Tutan is playing, he's giving you the type of production and not just production, but the actual type level of play that you would expect for my first round running back, for my second round running back right now.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so to me, Basel Tutan, Parker Washington, have been your two offensive MVP so far.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: So in this game, next player I want to talk about is Jacobi Myers.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: He only had two catches for 37 yards, they were both impressive.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: He was blocking his butt off.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Parker Washington's first touchdown.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Jacoby Myers.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you to BTJ as well.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: The jet sweep, which I did not like that play call very much, obviously Liam Cohen looks like a genius if it works.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers, blocking his guy into the end zone, you had Chris Rodriguez unable to get to Cooper Dijin on that play.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez was lined up out as a receiver, and he just couldn't get contact on Cooper Dijin and that kind of blew the play up.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: And so, Jacobi Myers, even when he is not getting the ball, is making such a positive impact on the Jaguars, especially as a blocker.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: in some of these situations.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: So Jacobi Myers, even though you only have two catches in this game, absolutely a standout performer for me.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Britain strange the receiver.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: stand out performer definitely.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: He did have one drop early in the game after that.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: He caught seven straight targets for 68 yards.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: He had a bunch of big plays.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: He got down to the one yard line twice.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I think you don't want to leave your feet as Liam Cohen mentioned the one time where he got kind of upended and went down at the one.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but strange as a receiver is just so efficient for the Jaguars and explosive.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like he catches short passes, he catches passes, you know, down the field, I think that he is a really reliable target for Trevor Lawrence.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: So big kudos to him.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to shout out as a Cleveland and really the entire offensive line in the second
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: With Britain's strange, he had two holding penalties on himself and those were obviously unacceptable, but Britain's strange there was a seaver in this game was huge.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: I thought a couple of guys that don't get as much run consistently, their rookies, but Josh Cameron, great return to start the game, probably should not have been called back, it is what it is, whatever, great play by him, and then,
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: his catches.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: So he caught a little screen pass and sifted through guys in the middle and made a really nice play to pick up like eight yards, a really good keep your down in distance in a good situation on that play.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: That was impressive.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other one where he's going over the middle catches a pass, tight window breaks out, picks up a huge chunk
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: catch and run for Josh Cameron there.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then on another one, it was a really interesting plate design where you have Josh Cameron and the running back coming out of the backfield kind of crossing to try to mess up the defenders and Zach Wong made a great play on it, but it was still a nice catch by Josh Cameron who got hit very hard very quickly on that play but I just think Josh Cameron, um,
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: You probably just need to target the guy, get him on the field more, target him more.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: He has caught, I think, eight out of 10 targets so far for the Jaguars and this early part of the season, a rookie who is playing great football for them.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Josh Cameron and Nate Borkacher, Nate Borkacher,
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's proving to be a reliable possession receiver as well.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I think both of those guys are looking really good for them.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: I love to see it and I want to see them involved more and more with this Jaguar's office.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Neborca took out 35 offensive snaps.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: So he was out there a lot, but I think moving forward
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: focusing a little bit more on those two guys and I'm not saying they need to become the stars of the show you have Parker and Jacobian Britain for that but focusing a little bit more on those two guys just incrementally percentage wise I think could be good for the Jaguar's offense and then Trevor Lawrence did not play super clean football right the first
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: ball control in the pocket needs to be a little bit crisper than that.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: The second one, I don't want to do it to hold on to the ball for too long.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: He just didn't move in the pocket.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: He was a statue back there and I put that one on him for sure.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: The interception probably shouldn't have been thrown, right?
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's fair to say.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you're throwing across your body.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: You've got guys all over you.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's 3rd and 7.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: You can probably just live to fight another down, you know, punt the ball and move on.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: That was a tough one.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not surprised it happened just based on the situation of the game, Queen Yon Mitchell, great play.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: But outside of that, I think Trevor Lawrence absolutely played winning football.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: The toughness he showed with his legs, as let us as he showed with his legs, just running the ball, and in scrambled situations was excellent.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: The throw to Parker Washington on 3rd and long, late in the second quarter.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: Outside the numbers, he throws it low and outside where only Parker Washington can get it against Queenia on Mitchell and coverage, that was a great throw.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's getting drugged to the ground by Jordan Davis.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it was.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's able to deliver a accurate throw to two and a couple yards down the field and turns that into a six yard game.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's a play where you take a potential negative play a sack and you turn it into a play that helps you keep.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: keep the chains moving.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: The throw to Britain strange over the middle, where Trevor Lawrence is rolling left and throws it back right and delivers a good ball to Britain strange.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: That was awesome.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: The throw on the run to Britain strange that got Britain down to the one yard line got the offense down to the one yard line.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: he's running towards the line of scrimmage on the run delivers a perfectly accurate football to Britain's strange who is also on the run, that was awesome and then the throw at the end of the game to Parker Washington where Parker makes a great play for the 27-yard touchdown that was sick as well and then
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: multiple really good throws in the end zone to Brian Thomas Jr., where I don't think either of them should be counted as drops necessarily, but if you could have made one of those plays if you're a Brian Thomas Jr., I know there's some conjecture that maybe Brian Thomas Jr. did get his heel down before his toe stepped out of bounds on the second one, either way.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you got to try to drag your foot there instead of planting it on the ground.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you're Brian Thomas Jr., maybe wear the white shoes that helps out a little bit, you never know.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think that Trevor Lawrence made just a number of really, really good plays in this game, despite being a little looser with the football, with the fumbles and the one interception than you would like.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think Trevor played winning ball.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: and he was a main catalyst for the Jaguars in this game as he has been for most of the season.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to do it.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot say the offensive line played well.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: The penalties obviously atrocious.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: Some of the situational play calling could have been a little bit better and Liam Cohen talked about that as well.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I think
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: The two clear clear MVPs of the Jaguar's offense outside of Trevor Loan to this season played like that in a big way in this game with Parker and Basel.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jacobi just continues to be a consistent reliable factor same thing with Jacobi and Nate Borkacher excuse me same thing with Josh Cameron and Nate Borkacher and
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: and then Britain Strange as a receiver was excellent for the Jaguars in this one.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: You just got to clean up the holding penalties and clean up the pre-snap communication when you're not in Jacksonville, when you're in a hostile environment, which the Jaguars absolutely were in a hostile environment with all those Eagles fans making noise when the Jaguars were on offense and London.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to do it for this one.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit the high button, y'all have a great one.
