- 0:37Speaker 4: Corinthia.
- 0:38Speaker 2: No, a marketing office. I don't think that anything exists.
- 0:44Speaker 2: They came up with that for Ricardo Montabon smiles as
- 0:49Speaker 2: everybody smiles. Yeah, it's a commercial for There's no such thing,

- 0:58Speaker 3: Wow, six five it's my job. No, I respect that.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I respect that.
- 1:05Speaker 4: It was more of curiosity. I was like, wait, is
- 1:07Speaker 4: there a Caribbean level?
- 1:08Speaker 2: No, okay, it's a marketing I think that's the same
- 1:11Speaker 2: as Redsin shirts now with retsin.

- 1:22Speaker 2: I think KFI ABE six forty The Bill Handle show
- 1:26Speaker 2: Neil Savadra and a slightly modified morning crew. This morning,
- 1:31Speaker 2: Heather Brooker is with us and Matt Matt the top.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Toffler, it's running around killing it.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It's like always that guy's he's like, uh, he's like
- 1:43Speaker 2: a gun with a silencer.
- 1:45Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. All powerful but quiet.
- 1:49Speaker 4: He's a silent but dead Well, no, that's something different different.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I'm still in the holiday mood.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Screwcoast.
- 1:58Speaker 2: They went, they finished yesterday, turning it on this morning
- 2:01Speaker 2: and it was it was before you got on and
- 2:05Speaker 2: it was like Kelly Clarkson singing something that wasn't Christmas,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and I said no. And then I walk into the
- 2:13Speaker 2: studios here in beautiful Burbank, California, and the uh, I'll
- 2:20Speaker 2: take Christmas tree is gorgeous, still lit up. There's the
- 2:24Speaker 2: Christmas lights strewn across the studio.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I feel like Christmas last, at least until after New.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Year's right, Like we get a our lights are still blazing,
- 2:33Speaker 2: and I keep them twenty four hours during this time,
- 2:37Speaker 2: like Christmas Eve, until until New.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Year can take them down New Year's Day or the weekend.
- 2:43Speaker 3: After, usually the weekend after.
- 2:45Speaker 5: That's what we do too. We just wait until the
- 2:47Speaker 5: weekend after.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Well a lot of a lot you know.
- 2:50Speaker 2: There's a joke about Latinos keeping their Christmas lights up
- 2:54Speaker 2: year round. Yeah, but the reality is a lot of
- 2:57Speaker 2: Latinos are Catholic and there's a lot of feasts and
- 3:02Speaker 2: festivals and things like that that go through to the
- 3:05Speaker 2: beginning of January.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:06Speaker 5: No King, not no, not No Kings.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah no, that's something different. Let me know what you're
- 3:12Speaker 2: doing on the weekend.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I am not awake, ye, not the No Kings, but yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 4: King's three Kings.
- 3:17Speaker 2: That famous Catholic No Kings. But I'm still in the
- 3:21Speaker 2: mood obviously. You know Codo is he came in in
- 3:24Speaker 2: his gay apparel again today.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Oh wow, Yeah, looks good on you, Bud. Don't worry, Neil,
- 3:31Speaker 3: welcome back.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Hey, Pally, it's been a long time, has it has
- 3:35Speaker 2: You've been gone for a very long time. You know
- 3:37Speaker 2: what's weird is I'm in this whole week for handle,
- 3:40Speaker 2: happy to do it. But he and I have not
- 3:42Speaker 2: crossed paths. We've texted and talked. But uh, and so
- 3:47Speaker 2: he comes. I changed my schedule for his schedule this year.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I had put in my time car or my vacation
- 3:54Speaker 2: and they're like, hey, you know, we don't know when
- 3:56Speaker 2: handles it. And I'm like, listen, I'm not that guy.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Take care of everybody. I'll just fill in the gaps.
- 4:03Speaker 3: And it's been nice. So I'm doing this and then
- 4:06Speaker 3: next week come out look at that. Yeah, so there
- 4:10Speaker 3: won't be a handle and Neil. For a long time.
- 4:13Speaker 2: I've heard some of the upset tuckbecks too, sorry, gang.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Sorry. They might be for me.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, please come back, please please come back.
- 4:24Speaker 3: But I'm happy to be here.
- 4:25Speaker 2: We got a great program for you today, a lot
- 4:29Speaker 2: of stuff to get into. But I am still in
- 4:32Speaker 2: the holiday mood. I'm not sorry for that.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Don't be sorry. It's such a magical time.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Well, I asked Cono.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I come in and knowing you know, Will, when he's
- 4:41Speaker 2: not sighing, is a great guy.
- 4:44Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah, but you know, and Heather Brooker is.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Always into the spirit of things, and and Will, I
- 4:54Speaker 2: don't know if he's happy or you know, he's going
- 4:58Speaker 2: to kill us all. He's that kind of quiet you
- 5:00Speaker 2: just don't know. Seems like a great kid though me.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah you no, oh, I.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Said, Matthew, Will's great guy. I met Matton.
- 5:09Speaker 5: I was like, Will does seem like I was agreement.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Wow. I was like yeah, until he said kid. Then
- 5:14Speaker 3: I was like, eh, nah, you're still a kid.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And uh so I came in and I said, hey,
- 5:20Speaker 2: let's do some Christmas music and you know, Cono said no,
- 5:24Speaker 2: and I looked at him and he said, it's your show.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Whatever you want.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But I'm like, listen, finish, finish this, anyone, finish this.
- 5:32Speaker 2: This statement, Jesus is the reason for the season. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 2: Jesus is the reason for the day. No, the season.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Co No, we're in the season. Buddy, Coast says it's over.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You know why Coast is the in the coast. Coast
- 5:50Speaker 2: can't handle it. Yeah, okay, okay, they got the liar
- 5:56Speaker 2: on in the evenings.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Now, okay, that should tell you.
- 6:03Speaker 4: I am a little surprised that they would stop, because
- 6:05Speaker 4: that is like their big money maker of it.
- 6:07Speaker 2: They stopped saying now this is the you know, through
- 6:10Speaker 2: the weekend. But to me, I'm still listening to Christmas music.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Oh show.
- 6:14Speaker 4: My living room feels so cozy with my tree up,
- 6:17Speaker 4: and I got my fireplace all decorated, and I'm just
- 6:20Speaker 4: not ready to let it go yet.
- 6:22Speaker 5: January is so blah.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It was forty five degrees outside. Do you imagine the
- 6:28Speaker 2: poor little baby Jesus shivering.
- 6:30Speaker 5: In a manger. Yeah, no room at the end.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Wasn't a cow sitting there on top of him? Or
- 6:36Speaker 3: something like, no, oh my.
- 6:39Speaker 4: He's cow.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Oh my pig.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Wasn't around allow laying on the baby?
- 6:48Speaker 3: Wasn't he around all those things? You know, up until
- 6:52Speaker 3: right now.
- 6:53Speaker 2: The worst theology I've ever heard is on the Gary
- 6:56Speaker 2: and Shannon Show. Seriously, sometimes they'll go, you know, and
- 7:00Speaker 2: Shannon will go, wait, what was Jesus's brother's name?
- 7:05Speaker 3: And it was, uh, actually, I don't.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Want to get into all right, Okay, that's going to
- 7:12Speaker 2: get up, you know, But and they'll go down some
- 7:15Speaker 2: rabbit hole and I'm like, no, no, no, But now
- 7:19Speaker 2: you beat it.
- 7:21Speaker 3: You beat it, Steve Kno, let's do this.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Let's do it.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Handleman on the news lead story.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You want to hear this or you want to hear
- 7:37Speaker 2: ba la la la la. As you heard during wake
- 7:43Speaker 2: Up Call with the Heather Brooker this morning, Trump and
- 7:46Speaker 2: Zelenski met. They are bringing out the big clothed steamer
- 7:52Speaker 2: to iron out all the peace plans, but.
- 7:55Speaker 3: It still is slightly elusive.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Here You've got I'm hosting President of Vladimir Zelenski. There
- 8:04Speaker 2: weren't they at at his palace mar Lago, Ma Lago,
- 8:10Speaker 2: and they got together. They talked about things.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Really.
- 8:14Speaker 2: One of the things that Zelensky wants the most is
- 8:17Speaker 2: kind of that you're going to watch our back, right,
- 8:21Speaker 2: You're gonna watch our back for a while. You Europe,
- 8:23Speaker 2: You're gonna You're gonna bring the guns if they start
- 8:26Speaker 2: picking on us. And that seems to be part of it.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I've heard numbers as high as about ninety percent of
- 8:33Speaker 2: what's wanted is agreed upon at this point. But you
- 8:39Speaker 2: also have Trump saying, hey, it's possible, it doesn't happen.
- 8:43Speaker 2: In a few weeks, will know one way or the other.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So we will continue to watch for that fingers crossed.
- 8:49Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll see. Do you want to go on or
- 8:51Speaker 5: do you want to go to break?
- 8:52Speaker 3: I want to I'd like to hear your voice.
- 8:54Speaker 4: All right, then, well, this is a really sad story
- 8:58Speaker 4: here in out a New Jurorsey. It was two helicopters
- 9:01Speaker 4: that crashed into each other mid air. One person was killed,
- 9:06Speaker 4: the other person was taken to the hospital, and it
- 9:09Speaker 4: was just the pilots that were on board each aircraft.
- 9:12Speaker 5: And of course the NTSB is investigating.
- 9:15Speaker 3: And they have no idea why this happened, No idea.
- 9:17Speaker 4: It happened in the middle of the morning, around eleven
- 9:20Speaker 4: thirty in the morning.
- 9:22Speaker 5: So I assume it was daylight.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Doesn't say anything about any unusual weather conditions or anything
- 9:29Speaker 4: like that. But it happened in Hamilton, New Jersey.
- 9:32Speaker 2: A guy named Dan thirty four years old, leaving the
- 9:37Speaker 2: gym hill Jim Rap and he heard this snap. He said,
- 9:40Speaker 2: it sounded like a car accident kind of and he
- 9:43Speaker 2: looked up and he might have gotten some video of it.
- 9:46Speaker 2: But like the helicopter twisting upside down and all kinds
- 9:51Speaker 2: of craziness. But what a site and what a strange situation.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Yeah, no idea though, what caused it or why that
- 9:57Speaker 4: would happen. That's very unusual for two helicopters to crash
- 10:00Speaker 4: mid air like that.
- 10:01Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:02Speaker 4: YouTuber Nick Shirley has uh well, he's responding to I
- 10:09Speaker 4: guess this fraud probe. I had to look this up.
- 10:12Speaker 4: I've never heard of Nick Shirley. I guess either he's
- 10:15Speaker 4: a MAGA friendly YouTuber.
- 10:17Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 10:19Speaker 5: I don't know, I'm not.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I mean, I guess he promotes maybe mega conspiracy theories
- 10:24Speaker 4: or talk has MAGA talking points but isn't.
- 10:27Speaker 3: That just maga. I know, maga friendly.
- 10:31Speaker 4: You're just well, maybe he's just yeah, he likes the MAGA.
- 10:35Speaker 4: But I had to look him up. I don't know
- 10:36Speaker 4: who that. I've never heard of Nick Shirley, but apparently
- 10:38Speaker 4: he there's a he. During Christmas Week he posted a
- 10:43Speaker 4: video from Minnesota alleging massive fraud and government funded childcare programs,
- 10:49Speaker 4: and then he got a response from the FBI and
- 10:52Speaker 4: JD Vance And.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I don't know what they say. I just don't good job, buddy,
- 10:58Speaker 3: were on it.
- 10:59Speaker 5: I know, right, I'm like, I don't know.
- 11:00Speaker 4: If it's a MAGA and he's promoting meracy theories, I
- 11:03Speaker 4: don't think we should be talking about him.
- 11:05Speaker 5: But that's my opinion.
- 11:07Speaker 2: What if he like if it's just because he's mago
- 11:10Speaker 2: or because you think it's a conspiracy.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Well, I think if he is someone who is known
- 11:14Speaker 4: to be promoting conspiracy theories, and.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Maybe he's like a squirrel, every squirrel gets their nut
- 11:23Speaker 2: every now and again, or a broken clock is right
- 11:26Speaker 2: twice a day, or whatever some things like that. But also,
- 11:29Speaker 2: no one's ever said he's promoted conspiracy theories, just so
- 11:32Speaker 2: that's out there.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Wait, do you listen to him. Do you know, Nick Shirley? No,
- 11:36Speaker 5: but I know this video that has one hundred million
- 11:38Speaker 5: views has one hundred million views.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yes see.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Here's here's my thing with the with the whole. I
- 11:43Speaker 2: can't stand the left and right, can't stand it at all.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I hate a two party system. The assumption is if
- 11:50Speaker 2: one is right and one is wrong is asinine and
- 11:53Speaker 2: completely illogical. So to me, the assumption like I believe
- 11:59Speaker 2: that if the devil looked me right in the face
- 12:00Speaker 2: and said two plus two equals four, I'd agree with him.
- 12:04Speaker 5: I don't understand it because it does.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my point.
- 12:08Speaker 2: So I like to just go, well, can we look
- 12:12Speaker 2: at the reason behind it and see if it's reasonable.
- 12:16Speaker 2: I don't care if somebody you know has nine conspiracy
- 12:22Speaker 2: theories and one truth. I still want to use my
- 12:25Speaker 2: brain and go through them and sift through them and go,
- 12:28Speaker 2: is this reasonable or not? As you should as well,
- 12:33Speaker 2: we just discount, We discount. You know, I'm a test
- 12:38Speaker 2: all things. Hold fast to that which is true. Guy,
- 12:42Speaker 2: that's my here's my question for you. And this was
- 12:44Speaker 2: something I thought was interesting. They called him.
- 12:47Speaker 4: He's one of several young independent journalists that are turning
- 12:51Speaker 4: heads among conservatives and Trump administration officials.
- 12:55Speaker 5: There has been a huge.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Increase in the number of independent journals citizen journalists if
- 13:01Speaker 4: you will, over the past few years. That's people going
- 13:04Speaker 4: on social media TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, whatever, whatever, their choices
- 13:10Speaker 4: to regurgitate the news of the day as they see
- 13:14Speaker 4: it and as the facts that they know it as
- 13:17Speaker 4: people who are actually in, you know, the news business.
- 13:20Speaker 4: For me, I always always take everything they say with
- 13:24Speaker 4: a grain of salt because you don't know where they're
- 13:26Speaker 4: getting their information from, and it is also through their
- 13:30Speaker 4: filter of their opinions in a lot of these cases.
- 13:34Speaker 3: No, I agree, But you know that's why.
- 13:38Speaker 2: I'm not a big fan of zero tolerance type stuff
- 13:43Speaker 2: like in schools.
- 13:44Speaker 3: You remember when they did that.
- 13:44Speaker 4: Zero black and white, like you're either this or not this.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, because in schools, like a kid would bring a
- 13:50Speaker 2: butter knife and be called a weapon or aspirin and
- 13:53Speaker 2: say they brought drugs to school. I think that when
- 13:56Speaker 2: you get to that point, you get to a point
- 13:59Speaker 2: where you don't want to think. I just want it
- 14:01Speaker 2: to be spelled out. I don't want to think or yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 2: So to me, looking at these things and because what
- 14:10Speaker 2: you just said about citizen journalism is what I think
- 14:14Speaker 2: about network news. I don't find it to be any different.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Huh did you study journalism yourself?
- 14:21Speaker 5: I did.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I have a degree in journalism and theater. Well
- 14:27Speaker 4: now see double major.
- 14:29Speaker 2: So wait a second. Theater is make believe and basically lying.
- 14:36Speaker 2: It's it's and you do the news.
- 14:38Speaker 5: So storytelling. It's all related.
- 14:41Speaker 2: So you don't think that your insights ever pierce the news.
- 14:46Speaker 4: I mean, I try really hard not to ever let
- 14:49Speaker 4: that happen, because I remember very clearly in journalism school
- 14:53Speaker 4: being drilled by our professors who were like, it is
- 14:56Speaker 4: not your job to comment on the news of the day.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Job is to give the facts and as you know
- 15:03Speaker 4: them in that moment. And I have tried very very
- 15:06Speaker 4: hard my entire career to be that person to not
- 15:10Speaker 4: let any personal opinions or outside influences. It's why I
- 15:13Speaker 4: don't post stuff like that on social media. You won't
- 15:15Speaker 4: see me commenting on the news of the day in
- 15:17Speaker 4: that way because it's not my job to do that,
- 15:21Speaker 4: and I feel like it lessens my my gravitas or
- 15:26Speaker 4: if you will, as a journalist or my as a
- 15:30Speaker 4: reporter or journalist for people to know my own personal opinions,
- 15:33Speaker 4: which are irrelevant. My own personal opinions when I'm give
- 15:36Speaker 4: you the news are irrelevant.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Okay, where in this story does it say conspiracy theorists.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I may have added that, I'm just kidding.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm busting your chop because the reality is
- 15:52Speaker 2: what I just pointed out, that should. Yeah, that's the reality,
- 15:56Speaker 2: and you should, and we will be looking into this story.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Here's here's something that I've said many times. People don't
- 16:02Speaker 2: talk about politics. Everybody thinks they do.
- 16:04Speaker 3: They don't.
- 16:04Speaker 2: They talk about politicians. Yeah, and that's not politics. Politics
- 16:08Speaker 2: is a philosophy and a structure by a governor, a government,
- 16:14Speaker 2: and so we don't talk about that anymore. We talk
- 16:16Speaker 2: about the people. And your first your first year in logic,
- 16:21Speaker 2: you're going to learn about informological fallacies. You're going to
- 16:24Speaker 2: learn about appeal at hominem, appealing to the individual rather
- 16:30Speaker 2: than the topic at hand. So to me, I don't
- 16:32Speaker 2: care who says this. I want to know what the
- 16:35Speaker 2: story's about. Yeah, but we do something else, another informological
- 16:39Speaker 2: fallacy called poisoning the well. So we call them a
- 16:42Speaker 2: conspiracy theorist and we don't know the story, whether it's
- 16:46Speaker 2: real or not.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's what I care about. Care about the story.
- 16:50Speaker 3: So that's it.
- 16:51Speaker 4: But that's why though, But that's why iron sharpens iron.
- 16:55Speaker 4: As journalists, as people who are in the news business,
- 16:57Speaker 4: we have to hold each other accountable. If I misspeed
- 17:00Speaker 4: that I want someone to tell me so I can
- 17:01Speaker 4: correct it, you know, like I'm very I'm that's something
- 17:05Speaker 4: I think that too many people, when you get higher
- 17:08Speaker 4: up in the ranks of like network news and whatever,
- 17:11Speaker 4: you think that what you say is the only accurate information.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Well that may not always be the case. Like that's
- 17:17Speaker 4: why here in the news, like Carla the editor will
- 17:19Speaker 4: message me. She will not hesitate to message me. Oh,
- 17:22Speaker 4: Carla's great if I mess something up or misspeak and
- 17:25Speaker 4: let me know so I can correct it.
- 17:26Speaker 3: And that does that to hartness as well.
- 17:28Speaker 2: She'll say, hey, by the way, we just got new information,
- 17:30Speaker 2: and I will tell you, uh, you know, people that
- 17:34Speaker 2: know how to use the talk back if I am
- 17:37Speaker 2: corrected factually ever on talkbacks or emails or anything. I
- 17:42Speaker 2: take that yeah part, And I have been people have
- 17:45Speaker 2: said maybe, you know, especially if they're kind, but if
- 17:49Speaker 2: they're not and it's true.
- 17:50Speaker 3: It's still true. Yeah.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I think where you get in trouble is when you
- 17:54Speaker 4: start saying what I Everything I know is accurate, and
- 17:57Speaker 4: I'm the only one who has this information.
- 17:59Speaker 5: And that's are you get in trouble?
- 18:00Speaker 3: Were you?
- 18:00Speaker 4: Were you?
- 18:02Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Neil Svader in the Morning crew with you handles got
- 18:05Speaker 2: the week off. I'm happy to be here with the
- 18:07Speaker 2: Heather Brooker doing the news. This was handed to me
- 18:11Speaker 2: by producer Matthew that Walls defends his record this viral
- 18:19Speaker 2: video that we were just talking about going on in
- 18:21Speaker 2: Minnesota dealing with the daycare fraud claims. It's interesting that
- 18:26Speaker 2: they are kind of looking towards he keeps talking about
- 18:29Speaker 2: his record on cracking down on fraud.
- 18:32Speaker 3: But nothing.
- 18:34Speaker 2: You know, they even hired an outside firm to audit
- 18:37Speaker 2: payments in these high risk programs, but not really not
- 18:42Speaker 2: really any definitive you know, not taking place.
- 18:45Speaker 3: We didn't do it. Nothing.
- 18:47Speaker 2: It's more like, hey, we it's right up there with
- 18:51Speaker 2: your safety and security is paramount to us. So we
- 18:55Speaker 2: shall see how that plays out. Back to the news
- 19:00Speaker 2: as we shall go. So the five Freeway near Lake
- 19:03Speaker 2: Hughes Road shut down both directions for hours. It eventually
- 19:08Speaker 2: reopened the whole thing. There in Santa Clarita and San
- 19:11Speaker 2: Fernando Valley, people were reporting smelling this horrible odor, and
- 19:18Speaker 2: residents there and Stick were asked to shelter in place
- 19:21Speaker 2: following a gas leak and possible explosion. This all took
- 19:25Speaker 2: place on Saturday. Gas scares me. I'm a diy guy.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I get my hands dirty and everything. I'll do some
- 19:35Speaker 2: electrical work, I'll do plumbing, you know. I get my
- 19:39Speaker 2: hands in and give it a try.
- 19:41Speaker 3: I like to learn.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Gas is one of those things that you're not gonna
- 19:45Speaker 2: mess with. I have, you know, the tools for it,
- 19:49Speaker 2: and I have gas detection handheld gas detection tools and
- 19:53Speaker 2: all kinds of stuff.
- 19:55Speaker 4: It just I don't know, Well, it's unpretty and it's
- 20:01Speaker 4: like requires a certain set of like training and skills,
- 20:04Speaker 4: you know, and what it's plumbing. It's plumbing, but it's
- 20:07Speaker 4: still just very dangerous if you are messing with any
- 20:10Speaker 4: sort of gas line.
- 20:11Speaker 2: When I would when I used to compete in the
- 20:13Speaker 2: martial arts, I always said that it was chess with
- 20:16Speaker 2: big consequences. Yeah, But to me, it's plumbing with like
- 20:21Speaker 2: horrible consequences because.
- 20:23Speaker 3: It's like you know, Ah, I flooded.
- 20:25Speaker 2: The floor is one thing, but it's worse when you
- 20:29Speaker 2: know the house explodes.
- 20:31Speaker 5: I blew up house.
- 20:32Speaker 3: That seems bad.
- 20:33Speaker 5: That does seem bad. You're right, all right.
- 20:35Speaker 4: So Nancy Pelosi is predicting that the Democrats are going
- 20:39Speaker 4: to win big in twenty twenty six. She sat down
- 20:42Speaker 4: for an interview with Jonathan carl and ABC's News This
- 20:45Speaker 4: ABC News Is this Week. She also said that she
- 20:49Speaker 4: feels like Hakem. Jeffries is ready to be her successor
- 20:55Speaker 4: and if they the Democrats win back the House. So
- 20:59Speaker 4: right now, Mcrats have to flip three seats to retake
- 21:02Speaker 4: a majority in the lower chamber.
- 21:04Speaker 2: I don't know much about him, but I did like
- 21:06Speaker 2: what she said. She said, he's eloquent, he's respected by
- 21:10Speaker 2: other members, he's a unifier, and God knows, we can
- 21:15Speaker 2: use all of those things in a human being right now,
- 21:19Speaker 2: so we shall see. I don't think she's far off,
- 21:21Speaker 2: quite honestly. I think there's a huge possibility of that.
- 21:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I talked to Steve Roberts today from ABC,
- 21:28Speaker 4: and he said that historically presidents have a hard time.
- 21:34Speaker 4: You know, whoever the majority is in power, have a
- 21:37Speaker 4: hard time holding on to their seats during the midterm because.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Handle and I have talked about that many times.
- 21:42Speaker 2: It's pretty typically.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Okay, well, I'm sure you and Handel had had better information.
- 21:47Speaker 2: No, I'm saying that we had talked about that many times.
- 21:50Speaker 2: That it's it's historically, it's got kind of what happens. Yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 2: it just happens, especially when you've got an incredibly divisive president,
- 22:00Speaker 2: as we do in Trump. Yes, all right, So California
- 22:03Speaker 2: last week dropped a lawsuit. This is one of the
- 22:07Speaker 2: mini Governor gav New some lawsuits. Well, you put like
- 22:11Speaker 2: twenty five million dollars aside before Trump went into office, saying,
- 22:15Speaker 2: you know, we got to be ready for him. Well,
- 22:18Speaker 2: this all deals with the four billion dollars for the
- 22:21Speaker 2: state's long delayed high speed rail project. This is another
- 22:26Speaker 2: thing that it gets caught up because it's seen as
- 22:29Speaker 2: a democratic thing. It's got to be protected against the mean,
- 22:34Speaker 2: ugly orange man in office. But the reality is it's
- 22:37Speaker 2: an absolute boondoggle. It's it is just a money suck
- 22:43Speaker 2: with no benefits to it. Jerry Brown I agreed with
- 22:48Speaker 2: him early on, saying, listen, sometimes when you change massive things.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It's going to take a long time, but decades down
- 22:56Speaker 2: the line, the benefit will show itself.
- 23:00Speaker 3: And it just hasn't.
- 23:01Speaker 2: It's just more money. So they quickly filed the lawsuit.
- 23:06Speaker 2: They being Democratic Governor gab Newsom called the federal government's
- 23:10Speaker 2: decision a political stunt to punish California, but he has
- 23:13Speaker 2: since pulled But I love how you pull the lawsuit
- 23:16Speaker 2: because it's a lame lawsuit. Instead of saying that, he
- 23:23Speaker 2: basically went into it saying, you know, it's the government
- 23:29Speaker 2: is not reliable, constructive, or trustworthy as a partner. So
- 23:33Speaker 2: we're just we don't want them to be a part
- 23:35Speaker 2: of it. I didn't break up. Oh you didn't break
- 23:37Speaker 2: up with me. I broke up with you. And then
- 23:40Speaker 2: Trump said, hey, it's this project severely overpriced, overregulated, and
- 23:46Speaker 2: never delivered, which again he's right, doesn't matter that he's
- 23:52Speaker 2: a horrible human being, he's right on that.
- 23:55Speaker 4: It's been in how long now that they've been working
- 23:58Speaker 4: on this to two decades?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Well, I have walked from Las Vegas to San Francisco
- 24:06Speaker 2: eight times since they started on foot, so yeah, I
- 24:11Speaker 2: didn't even need it. Yeah, I made it back and
- 24:14Speaker 2: forth speaking to Las Vegas.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Let's go all.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Right, the busiest week of the year wasn't enough to
- 24:22Speaker 4: save airport passenger numbers in Las Vegas. They are really
- 24:27Speaker 4: really struggling there with tourism. According to the airport's November data,
- 24:34Speaker 4: traffic at Las Vegas Airport was down nine point six
- 24:37Speaker 4: percent year over year, falling to four point three million passengers.
- 24:42Speaker 4: That's the worst month. That's worse month than October, which
- 24:46Speaker 4: on eight percent decline. So they're really hurting out there.
- 24:50Speaker 4: People just are not visiting Las Vegas anymore.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Well, I just like to say to the naysayers who
- 24:56Speaker 2: are like, I'm not going to Las Vegas, good luck
- 24:58Speaker 2: finding a thirty five dollar peanut butter and jelly.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Sandwich where you live. Wait that came that sound.
- 25:06Speaker 5: I thought you're gonna say, thirty five dollars hotel room.
- 25:08Speaker 2: No, no, no, there's some gorgeous places out there.
- 25:13Speaker 5: There aren't, but sometimes their rooms are, and they're.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Really really cheap. Encore is stunning, Blaggio, the Veniche.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I mean, there's gorgeous places out there that are worth
- 25:25Speaker 2: every cent. When I went to when I gosh, like
- 25:31Speaker 2: two years ago, I was there once a month broadcasting
- 25:34Speaker 2: the Fork report live and it was stunning. I mean
- 25:37Speaker 2: spot Disneyland, spotless, Yeah, everywhere you looked. And I like
- 25:43Speaker 2: that type of thing. If you're gonna pay money, I'm
- 25:45Speaker 2: a value guy. I like value, not cheap. So am
- 25:50Speaker 2: I getting my money's worth it? I feel like. But yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 2: it's it's gotten really expensive. It smells like pot everywhere.
- 25:56Speaker 2: People are smoking pot walking up and down the street.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And it's not what it used to be. I like
- 26:03Speaker 2: the area. It's a world class food destination. All those things.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Got the Punk Rock Museum out there, which is great. Yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 2: all kinds of cool things, the Mob Museum, but it's spancy.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Its too pricey.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Oh it's so spancy.
- 26:18Speaker 5: There it is. There's that happening.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, a stupid all right, back with a year
- 26:26Speaker 2: in review, we'll go through it. Heather Broker will join
- 26:28Speaker 2: me throughout as we talk about news and entertainment and
- 26:33Speaker 2: the things that you may or may not have forgotten
- 26:35Speaker 2: that happened during the last almost twelve months. So go nowhere.
