- 0:00Speaker 1: And now Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 1: What's up, everybody? Welcome to Move the Sticks. DJ Rhett
- 0:10Speaker 1: with you on a Monday as we look back at
- 0:12Speaker 1: a eventful week six of games.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Right, how you doing, Bob.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Oh, fantastic, Excited to be back here with you, Rocket
- 0:19Speaker 3: and rolling here through week six in the league. Was
- 0:23Speaker 3: on Game Day Live with my buddy Mark Ross on Sunday,
- 0:26Speaker 3: So we had some we had to those six games,
- 0:28Speaker 3: and then we were coming off that Jaguars Bears game.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Boy.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I know we're gonna get to it here in
- 0:33Speaker 3: the next couple of minutes, but Caleb's rolling.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we were going to have you know, obviously we're
- 0:38Speaker 1: gonna have Bucky on, but you know, we put the
- 0:41Speaker 1: we put the microphone in the end zone, and the
- 0:42Speaker 1: fact that he is with the Jags, he couldn't he
- 0:44Speaker 1: couldn't make it there in order to join us today.
- 0:46Speaker 2: So he'll be back.
- 0:47Speaker 1: He'll be back tomorrow for the flag goodness, curacious. I
- 0:50Speaker 1: am looking forward to his take on Caleb. We'll get
- 0:52Speaker 1: to that and in just a little bit here in
- 0:53Speaker 1: the show, but let's start off with I think one
- 0:56Speaker 1: of the bigger stories come out of yesterday, and that's uh,
- 0:58Speaker 1: that's a Dallas Cowboys getting trounced. A big injury in
- 1:02Speaker 1: this game, which which we'll discuss obviously could have implications.
- 1:05Speaker 2: You hate to see that.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But before we get to the good side of things
- 1:09Speaker 1: with the Detroit Lions and you know how dominant they
- 1:12Speaker 1: were in this ballgame and the injury to Adon Hudgson,
- 1:15Speaker 1: let's start on the Cowboys side of things and to
- 1:17Speaker 1: ts up, let's get Jerry Jones thoughts on how that
- 1:19Speaker 1: went for the Cowboys.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Generally speaking, I think my message is is, I know
- 1:26Speaker 4: you don't need to hear me say this, but I'm
- 1:29Speaker 4: well aware that we're in the proverbial right now.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Jerry Good, what would it take you to value in
- 1:36Speaker 3: making a head coaching change? Did season? I haven't you
- 1:40Speaker 3: considered that. I'm not considering that. We're so you're clear,
- 1:43Speaker 3: I'm not considering that, but you've done it.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I wouldn't be hypothetical in that matter.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Do you think I'm an idiot?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Do you?
- 1:50Speaker 3: Okay? Well, I'm not hypothetical with you about one.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I considering coach and change and a lot of the
- 1:56Speaker 4: timing we're sitting here with I'm not at all.
- 2:02Speaker 1: By the way, Jerry Jones eighty second birthday not a
- 2:04Speaker 1: great birthday present there, uhret for the performance by the
- 2:08Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. We'll get to the Lions and how dominant
- 2:10Speaker 1: they were. We'll get to Avian Hutchinson. But just I mean,
- 2:14Speaker 1: I'm not surprised he's not gonna he's not gonna air
- 2:16Speaker 1: out that laundry there in terms of whether he would
- 2:18Speaker 1: make a change, and I don't think he's inclined to
- 2:21Speaker 1: make a change. I think they're three and three. He's gonna,
- 2:23Speaker 1: he's gonna he's gonna ride this thing out this year.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Uh with coach McCarthy.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's the thing, Like, I the weird thing is,
- 2:30Speaker 3: like I don't necessarily think this team is overall like
- 2:34Speaker 3: underperforming that that I mean, like I think that there
- 2:37Speaker 3: are deficiencies that we've talked about in this team. The
- 2:39Speaker 3: run game is certainly one of them, you know, targets
- 2:42Speaker 3: outside of Ceedee Lambs, certainly one of the quarterbacks to
- 2:44Speaker 3: play a little better. It'll be a bit uh with
- 2:46Speaker 3: a little bit stronger discernment with some of those uh,
- 2:49Speaker 3: some of those throws and decisions that he's making right there.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I mean, just some inexplicable uh you know, kind of
- 2:54Speaker 3: interceptions the last couple of weeks. But the thing that
- 2:57Speaker 3: I come away with and I went on the defensive
- 2:59Speaker 3: side of the ball and started to look at a
- 3:01Speaker 3: few things. Here at DJ and the Lions at eight
- 3:04Speaker 3: explosives on the ground. So you think, Kundt an explosive
- 3:08Speaker 3: is ten plus you know, a run for ten plus
- 3:10Speaker 3: yards like that, it's almost one hundred yards of explosives
- 3:13Speaker 3: on the ground that can't happen. I mean like when
- 3:16Speaker 3: they took Mazzie Smith, you know, out of Michigan. I
- 3:19Speaker 3: remember thinking, okay, like this is this is a place
- 3:22Speaker 3: for this to the run game, right That was for
- 3:25Speaker 3: this reason. You remember when he was dominant, you have
- 3:28Speaker 3: to go like to Michigan, like it has not shown
- 3:31Speaker 3: up yet. He's getting moved off. It's like Kevin Zeitler
- 3:33Speaker 3: was a moving van in this game at right guard
- 3:36Speaker 3: for the Lions, and the d tackles were all boxed
- 3:39Speaker 3: up and marked for next week somewhere. Because I mean,
- 3:42Speaker 3: like whether it was Mazzie Smith or Lynval Joseph, I mean,
- 3:46Speaker 3: Zeitler and Ragnow were just moving guys. All over the place.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I mean they left the backside b gap like completely
- 3:53Speaker 3: unaccounted for a couple of times on those first couple explosives,
- 3:56Speaker 3: and I mean it was like it was stealing candy
- 3:58Speaker 3: a couple of those times. There's not already upfront to me,
- 4:01Speaker 3: and I think the linebackers on the second level, you
- 4:04Speaker 3: know they're they're going a round Blox you got over
- 4:06Speaker 3: shown back. There a couple other guys that de Mont
- 4:09Speaker 3: Clark like. It's not a physical front seven in my
- 4:13Speaker 3: opinion at this point.
- 4:14Speaker 1: DJ, Yeah, those are issues along the front defensively. Offensively.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I went back and watched all Dak stuff. There's four
- 4:21Speaker 1: picks and there three of them are Daks. Obviously you
- 4:22Speaker 1: get one late when he's out of the ballgame, but
- 4:26Speaker 1: not just some mechanical stuff.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Just not get into throws.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Just balls are sailing, floating balls off his back foot.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Those are things that I'm like, Okay, if that's their
- 4:35Speaker 1: biggest issue, then that can correct that. I've seen him
- 4:38Speaker 1: correct that, and you know they'll be okay. The problem
- 4:42Speaker 1: is when you look at it, I think, let me,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I pulled the number out. There were twenty one pressures
- 4:46Speaker 1: allowed in this game.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Twenty one.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So if you're looking at two teams that have hopes
- 4:51Speaker 1: in the NFC, you're looking at the Detroit Lions team
- 4:53Speaker 1: that we can all agree better up front offensively, better
- 4:57Speaker 1: up front defensively, the quarterbacks playing more sound football. He's
- 5:02Speaker 1: more technically sound, he's throwing the ball more accurately, he's
- 5:05Speaker 1: making better decisions. I mean, I don't know that it's
- 5:08Speaker 1: very complicated when you look at the issues that plague
- 5:10Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys, and I don't think it's very complicated
- 5:13Speaker 1: to figure out why the Detroit Lions are good. They
- 5:15Speaker 1: are a line of scrimmage team that is physical, and
- 5:18Speaker 1: then they are creative on the offensive side of the
- 5:20Speaker 1: ball as well. It's just that that was a forty
- 5:24Speaker 1: seven to nine game, and that's how big the gap
- 5:28Speaker 1: felt between these two teams. And I think really at
- 5:30Speaker 1: those three important areas offensive line, defensive line, quarterback, I
- 5:34Speaker 1: thought they were just far superior to the Dallas Cowboys.
- 5:37Speaker 3: And that's why I said, like, I don't necessarily feel
- 5:39Speaker 3: like this team is completely underperforming. They've certain they certainly
- 5:42Speaker 3: could play better, but the gap is big between the
- 5:47Speaker 3: Lions and the Cowboys right now. And I think that's yeah.
- 5:49Speaker 3: You know, for once the score really accurately paints the
- 5:52Speaker 3: picture that.
- 5:54Speaker 1: One as you see big Skipper on the screen here
- 5:57Speaker 1: at this point in time, just absolutely with them Ben
- 6:01Speaker 1: Jonson having fun. Anyways, We'll see what happens with the
- 6:03Speaker 1: Cowboys going forward. But that was that was not good.
- 6:07Speaker 1: The big story though, Aiden Hutchinson getting hurt in this
- 6:09Speaker 1: game feel terrible for him. Obviously a grewsome injury. Not
- 6:13Speaker 1: something I care to watch multiple times. Of course, it
- 6:15Speaker 1: came right when he you know, he gets another sack
- 6:17Speaker 1: and he's coming off of really a start to the
- 6:20Speaker 1: season that was Defensive Player of the Year type stuff
- 6:23Speaker 1: like he was playing at that level, obviously a leader
- 6:26Speaker 1: for their team and one of their best players. You
- 6:29Speaker 1: hate seeing that with him going out, and you know,
- 6:32Speaker 1: now we have to look and say, okay, you get
- 6:34Speaker 1: to the trade deadline. I guess I'll pose you that question.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Rhtt.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I mean, they've got other guys, They've got serviceable players
- 6:40Speaker 1: they can throw in their nothing to that level.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Are you going to start kicking some tires? But I
- 6:44Speaker 2: think we have seven teams.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I have to double check this, but I was when
- 6:47Speaker 1: I was doing the Charge game yesterday I was looking
- 6:49Speaker 1: this up. I think we have seven teams in the
- 6:51Speaker 1: league with one win, Like, there are a lot of
- 6:54Speaker 1: teams that you could make a case should be sellers
- 6:57Speaker 1: at a normally quiet NFL trade deadline. It's not baseball,
- 7:01Speaker 1: it's not basketball, usually not on that level. But I
- 7:03Speaker 1: feel like this year there's a lot of teams that
- 7:05Speaker 1: could be looking forward to next year and maybe you
- 7:07Speaker 1: can pry a pass rusher from somebody.
- 7:10Speaker 3: It's just so tough at that position, right because they're
- 7:13Speaker 3: just they're so difficult to find. So I know, it's
- 7:16Speaker 3: like we saw that the edge rusher trade this year
- 7:19Speaker 3: sent Brian Burns up to New York from Carolina. I
- 7:21Speaker 3: saw Bradley, Yeah, Montes sweat right going from the.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Cast last year. We've seen these pass us We've seen
- 7:29Speaker 2: it traded.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah, No, that's that's that's true. Like I mean, could
- 7:34Speaker 3: Gdevian Clowney be available from Carolina? I mean, does that
- 7:38Speaker 3: does that tickle your fancy if you're if you're Detroit.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I mean they they were went out there with Isaac
- 7:42Speaker 3: Uku and Trevor Nawawski, like who were undrafted guys from
- 7:46Speaker 3: me to the last couple of years, and and push
- 7:48Speaker 3: them out there on the edge man. It's uh, it's
- 7:52Speaker 3: kind of an interesting one to think about there, because
- 7:54Speaker 3: they they're down. Detroit's down Marcus Davenport too, right, so
- 7:58Speaker 3: like they've they've really James Houston out in this game,
- 8:00Speaker 3: so like they're running out like Josh Pascal is like
- 8:03Speaker 3: their their most reliable edge guy right now. I mean,
- 8:07Speaker 3: is are we are we gonna? Are we gonna talk
- 8:09Speaker 3: to Son Reddick here?
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean it's Son Reddick. We'll see what happens.
- 8:12Speaker 1: He's got a new agent now, Drew Rosenhower stud He
- 8:15Speaker 1: wants to get into the Jets. We'll see, you know,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Jets are playing tonight, obviously not gonna be there in
- 8:19Speaker 1: time for that thing. We'll see what that trans what
- 8:21Speaker 1: transpires there over the next week. That's an option, I guess.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Uh.
- 8:24Speaker 1: And by the way, Drew got me. There's six teams
- 8:26Speaker 1: with one with one win, so not seven, but still
- 8:29Speaker 1: a big number.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Six teams.
- 8:30Speaker 1: And the other one is that they brought up is
- 8:32Speaker 1: a great is a great name? Is that Cam Jordan
- 8:35Speaker 1: who has ties Daron Glenn in the New Orleans Saints.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Obviously he is the most recognizable New Orleans Saints Oh
- 8:42Speaker 5: like that is I I'm just saying, and we'll get
- 8:46Speaker 5: to that game in a little bit, but that could
- 8:47Speaker 5: be a team that now as a rookie quarterback who
- 8:50Speaker 5: did some good things in Spencer Rattler, maybe they started
- 8:53Speaker 5: looking towards the future. So anyway, it's just some ideas,
- 8:57Speaker 5: some thoughts to kick around with the with the big
- 9:00Speaker 5: there to Aiden Hutchinson again, speedy recovery to him. We
- 9:02Speaker 5: praying that he he has a smooth, smooth recovery and
- 9:05Speaker 5: gets back to being what he was, which is one
- 9:07Speaker 5: of the best defensive players in football.
- 9:09Speaker 2: All Right.
- 9:09Speaker 1: One of the more into entertaining games of the week,
- 9:11Speaker 1: we had the Commanders Jayde and Daniels going to take
- 9:14Speaker 1: on the Ravens and Lamar Jackson. I you know, I
- 9:17Speaker 1: was excited to watch Jayden Daniels in this one because
- 9:20Speaker 1: even though the Ravens defense is nothing like it's been
- 9:22Speaker 1: in the past, it's still an intimidating place to go
- 9:25Speaker 1: in there and play. And I thought early in the
- 9:27Speaker 1: game there were some jitters with him and I thought
- 9:32Speaker 1: you could just see him settle down, and then I
- 9:34Speaker 1: saw he took two huge shots still found a way
- 9:39Speaker 1: to get completions. You see the fourth down touchdown here
- 9:41Speaker 1: on the screen just a minute ago, I saw somebody
- 9:44Speaker 1: who if I was a fan of that team, I
- 9:46Speaker 1: would be very excited that that showed the calm and
- 9:50Speaker 1: the poise that he had to be able to kind
- 9:52Speaker 1: of calm things down, settle down after kind of a
- 9:55Speaker 1: shaky first quarter. I thought he played excellent, and honestly,
- 9:58Speaker 1: of all the stuff I watched and going through all
- 10:00Speaker 1: this tape, what Cliff Kingsbury's doing scheme wise, creativity wise,
- 10:05Speaker 1: is the most fun watching football right now. It's not
- 10:07Speaker 1: only Jane Daniels playing lights out. Cliff Kingsbury with what
- 10:10Speaker 1: he's doing with orbit motion and just all the eye
- 10:13Speaker 1: candy that they're giving you and uh and then some
- 10:16Speaker 1: of the leak stuff they're doing with their tight ends
- 10:18Speaker 1: like it is. It is fun to watch how creative
- 10:21Speaker 1: they are offensively. So I know they lost the game.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I don't want to bury the lead. We'll give the
- 10:25Speaker 1: Ravens their flowers here in a minute. But I did
- 10:28Speaker 1: want to see jayde and Daniels how he responded in
- 10:30Speaker 1: this type of environment, and I thought he was excellent.
- 10:33Speaker 3: It must must feel pretty good for an offensive coordinator
- 10:36Speaker 3: to be able to put that kind of mental workload
- 10:38Speaker 3: on a rookie quarterback, right if you're if you're Cliff Kingsbury,
- 10:41Speaker 3: I mean it's together there with jayde Daniels. I mean
- 10:44Speaker 3: that is that is certainly fun to Well, I thought
- 10:46Speaker 3: they missed their run game, and I mean obviously the
- 10:48Speaker 3: you know, the numbers tell you that, but I thought
- 10:50Speaker 3: they missed Brian Robinson in this game. But look, I
- 10:53Speaker 3: think on the flip side, then you got to you
- 10:54Speaker 3: gotta really tip your cap to what the Ravens did
- 10:56Speaker 3: on defense in this one, especially from that run game perspective,
- 10:59Speaker 3: where I thought Travis Jones, you know, was was really
- 11:03Speaker 3: good and you know, justin Mattabike gets a lot of
- 11:06Speaker 3: credit for what goes on in the interior that defensive line,
- 11:08Speaker 3: and rightly so really good player. I feel like, you know,
- 11:11Speaker 3: the Ravens found another good one third round pick out
- 11:14Speaker 3: of Yukon right, Travis Jones, Yes, yeah, zero explosive runs
- 11:20Speaker 3: that they allowed to the Washington Commanders this week. He's
- 11:23Speaker 3: had a really nice year. I went back after watching
- 11:25Speaker 3: you know this week, went back and watched a couple
- 11:27Speaker 3: of his games earlier in the season and I mean
- 11:30Speaker 3: he's been really good, especially against the run. Violent hands,
- 11:32Speaker 3: he has constant pushback, like just from all over the place,
- 11:36Speaker 3: first quartersack in this game, he's kind of got, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 3: when you watch it, like he's kind of got like
- 11:41Speaker 3: a little like Diet hump move, like hump move that
- 11:45Speaker 3: we you know, Reggie White obviously made you know, very
- 11:47Speaker 3: popular and was his signature. He's got kind of you know,
- 11:51Speaker 3: light the light version of that, and it really does
- 11:54Speaker 3: kind of shock the interior offensive lineman. Got a really
- 11:57Speaker 3: good ball awareness too. For an interior d lineman. How
- 11:59Speaker 3: many times do you see you know, a detackle just
- 12:02Speaker 3: get you know, so kind of caught up with, you know,
- 12:05Speaker 3: his responsibility, trying to be physical with the offensive lineman
- 12:08Speaker 3: that the ball kind of sneaks out past them. That
- 12:11Speaker 3: doesn't happen with Travis Jones. He's right there, stout at
- 12:13Speaker 3: the point of attack. He's got good combo, a quickness
- 12:15Speaker 3: and power with his hands, folent shedding that look that
- 12:18Speaker 3: kind of forced Jaydon Daniels on a play where he
- 12:22Speaker 3: was trying to get out of the pocket. Travis Jones
- 12:25Speaker 3: forces him to like spin around and come right back
- 12:27Speaker 3: into the waiting arms of Rokwan Smith. He is a
- 12:29Speaker 3: good player right there.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah, no, he was in my top fifty, not mistaken there.
- 12:35Speaker 2: He was a very.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Talented player coming out of Yukon, big, big jumbo athlete.
- 12:39Speaker 1: And look, you're you're darned if you do darned if
- 12:41Speaker 1: you don't against the Ravens. You want to try, and
- 12:43Speaker 1: you want to try and load up and stop Dereck Henry.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Well that's probably still not going to work. And now
- 12:47Speaker 1: you've depleted your resources in the back end where Lamar
- 12:50Speaker 1: and Jay Flowers can take advantage of it, which they did.
- 12:53Speaker 2: This is an offense.
- 12:54Speaker 1: It's kind of fine and its groove a little bit,
- 12:56Speaker 1: and it is uh, it's an offense with a lot
- 12:59Speaker 1: of different ways to get you.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Mark Andrews, by the way, still with us.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I didn't know, you know, he's been just kind of
- 13:04Speaker 1: invisible there and kind of wondering what his future would
- 13:07Speaker 1: be with Isaiah likely there and he found his way
- 13:09Speaker 1: into the end zone. But you've got Lamar as a threat,
- 13:12Speaker 1: Derrick Henry's still rolling, and then when you want to
- 13:14Speaker 1: dedicate resources, Zay Flowers is turned into a nightmare to
- 13:18Speaker 1: deal with. It's in a copycat league and you're seeing
- 13:22Speaker 1: the Ravens, you know, coaches and personnel. You know, he
- 13:25Speaker 1: got him up in Seattle. We've got them with the Chargers.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Like there's these ties to the Ravens that you're kind
- 13:30Speaker 1: of spreading around the league right now. And we'll get
- 13:33Speaker 1: to the Charger game later, but I'm seeing, okay, like
- 13:36Speaker 1: where the.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Chargers are in their development.
- 13:38Speaker 1: They have you know, they've developed the offensive line, they've
- 13:41Speaker 1: got the run game going, and now it's like, okay,
- 13:43Speaker 1: you can look at it and say, man, if they
- 13:44Speaker 1: could get a dynamic receiver, now you can really pay
- 13:48Speaker 1: off all the attention you're going to get because of
- 13:50Speaker 1: this run game. Zay Flowers is a perfect example that
- 13:53Speaker 1: is the perfect player to complement what they're doing on
- 13:57Speaker 1: the ground.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Because he's going to have a bunch of space.
- 13:59Speaker 1: You got a bunch of space with him, and that's
- 14:01Speaker 1: just he is a nightmare cover, uh for everyone. So
- 14:04Speaker 1: I applaud you know, Eric the Coast and the job
- 14:07Speaker 1: they've done building out this roster. They more than any
- 14:10Speaker 1: other team in the league. The Ravens know who they
- 14:11Speaker 1: are and they know what they're looking for.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Good way to put it, certainly, And man, I just
- 14:17Speaker 3: there's so many different ways that they can attack. Now.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Rashan Bateman even got going a little bit here too.
- 14:22Speaker 3: So you think of the fact that they spent you know,
- 14:24Speaker 3: first round picks on wide receivers in a couple of
- 14:26Speaker 3: the last drafts. Is you're now starting to bear the
- 14:28Speaker 3: fruit of that labor. So that's that's definitely a piece
- 14:31Speaker 3: of their personal puzzle that's working.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, let's get to London. Buck again will be with
- 14:37Speaker 1: us tomorrow. Time change issues. Couldn't have him with us
- 14:40Speaker 1: today to break this game down that he was at.
- 14:42Speaker 1: The Jags are a mess. We'll we'll get to them
- 14:43Speaker 1: in a minute. But let's give Kleb last.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Is he uh? Is he coming back and then going
- 14:49Speaker 3: back and then coming back again.
- 14:50Speaker 2: He's staying at school. He's got to coach the high
- 14:52Speaker 2: school team.
- 14:52Speaker 1: So he's got to come back and then turn around
- 14:56Speaker 1: and go right back to London two weeks in a rowatch.
- 14:58Speaker 1: So he's a soldier. He's not us around. I don't
- 15:01Speaker 1: know how Buck, I'll be tired about it. Yeah, tip
- 15:04Speaker 1: of the cap, but he'll be with us tomorrow. We'll
- 15:06Speaker 1: get to the Jags in a minute. But Caleb was excellent.
- 15:09Speaker 1: The game plan was excellent. I posted on Twitter that, look,
- 15:13Speaker 1: this is why you don't make declarations about players after
- 15:15Speaker 1: two games of their NFL career.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You're seeing Caleb a couple of things.
- 15:20Speaker 1: They're run the ball well, they're protecting him, and game
- 15:24Speaker 1: plan wise, they're figuring out how to really feature him.
- 15:27Speaker 1: And the other thing is what we've always said, right,
- 15:30Speaker 1: you've got to you know, in the pocket on time
- 15:34Speaker 1: has to be the ice cream, and the scrambles have
- 15:36Speaker 1: to be the sprinkles. And that's what That's what he
- 15:38Speaker 1: did in this game. He gave me just a few
- 15:40Speaker 1: sprinkles of what he can do with his legs and
- 15:42Speaker 1: making things happen. I got a couple of big first downs,
- 15:45Speaker 1: had a sweet little dump off to comet on a
- 15:47Speaker 1: broken play. But outside of that, he was excellent of
- 15:51Speaker 1: just being able to, you know, look, get the ball
- 15:53Speaker 1: out on time. They utilize the screen game. He's getting
- 15:56Speaker 1: comfortable with Keenan Allen more time together, timing. What's the
- 16:00Speaker 1: word of timing, right, it's time spending some more time
- 16:03Speaker 1: with these receivers. All of a sudden, now you're able
- 16:06Speaker 1: to you're able to connect on some of these back
- 16:07Speaker 1: shoulder throws. In some of these timing throws. So look,
- 16:12Speaker 1: we've said it consistently, Caleb Williams is getting better every
- 16:15Speaker 1: single week, and don't give me the well they've played
- 16:18Speaker 1: a terrible team. The signs of this game coming have
- 16:22Speaker 1: been there, and he just keeps getting better.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I'm glad you brought up all that with the receivers too,
- 16:26Speaker 3: because you kind of read right out of my notes
- 16:29Speaker 3: on that. I went and watched Keenan Allen just because
- 16:31Speaker 3: I've inadvertently left him on the bench after acquiring him
- 16:34Speaker 3: in my one of my fantasy leaks. Yeah, and just
- 16:38Speaker 3: watched him go off. So I was like, all right,
- 16:39Speaker 3: let me go look at what I was missing here
- 16:41Speaker 3: but not having him in the lineup. He actually caught
- 16:44Speaker 3: six balls on six targets. One of them didn't count
- 16:46Speaker 3: because of penalty, so he ends up with five catches
- 16:49Speaker 3: on five targets forty one yards, with two of those
- 16:51Speaker 3: catches going for scores. Almost all of it, in fact,
- 16:54Speaker 3: all but one came on third downs or fourth down.
- 16:58Speaker 3: And that kind of chemistry, that kind of understanding of
- 17:01Speaker 3: where your guy's going to be, how he's going to
- 17:02Speaker 3: get open again, is something that goes back to your
- 17:05Speaker 3: root word of timing, which is time time spent on task.
- 17:08Speaker 3: With those two that first cash the third down, final
- 17:11Speaker 3: minute of the half, Keenan on his slant. The window
- 17:13Speaker 3: is tight already and closing. It was a great throw,
- 17:17Speaker 3: but a terrific top of the route by Keenan Allen.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And again that's where he is one of the best
- 17:21Speaker 3: in all of football, right getting off the release and
- 17:23Speaker 3: then generating separation at the top. Another one on furnet
- 17:27Speaker 3: third down, he had a free release, access to the
- 17:29Speaker 3: sticks and I'm telling you, Caleb fits it in there
- 17:32Speaker 3: within milliseconds of closing defenders. The next one is just
- 17:36Speaker 3: an incredible throat. It's from I think it's his first touchdown.
- 17:40Speaker 3: He comes from motion. It's basically like a stick nod
- 17:42Speaker 3: type of concept from Keenan. But he's not, you know,
- 17:45Speaker 3: faking going outside. He's faking like he's going to settle
- 17:47Speaker 3: down and then sneaks into the back of the end zone.
- 17:50Speaker 3: And then the coverage was actually pretty tight I think
- 17:52Speaker 3: was Devin Lloyd the linebacker and the way that Caleb
- 17:55Speaker 3: manipulates the coverage to hit him on the back shoulder
- 17:58Speaker 3: there and again Keenan to go up and get it.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's really good and those two getting
- 18:04Speaker 3: getting rolling, like now we just got to see more
- 18:06Speaker 3: from Roma Dunsa and this thing's really gonna take.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Me and Roma Dunsay had a couple of big grabs
- 18:10Speaker 1: on on some third downs too, like a couple and
- 18:13Speaker 1: working in the middle of the field, doing a lot
- 18:14Speaker 1: of dirty work in the middle of the field. That's
- 18:17Speaker 1: a fun It's fun, you know all I think I
- 18:18Speaker 1: lament about the Bears. I wish they played all. I
- 18:20Speaker 1: wish they had a home field where they played indoors.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I wish we could see them outside of the elements.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I know that's very not old school traditional, but because
- 18:29Speaker 1: of the pieces they have, I am soft, but the
- 18:32Speaker 1: screen game was swift. How that plays on a good field,
- 18:36Speaker 1: not to go along with these big receivers and no
- 18:39Speaker 1: win like I just anyways, that's that's the old quarterback
- 18:42Speaker 1: in me saying that box yeah, gag side of things.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I don't have anything to add. I guess the only
- 18:48Speaker 1: thing I would add off of saying that, you know,
- 18:50Speaker 1: Trevor hadn't been playing well. Trevor's been missing throws. There's
- 18:53Speaker 1: no rhythm to what they're doing offensively, I don't. I
- 18:56Speaker 1: think they've regressed on the offensive line, all the stuff
- 18:59Speaker 1: that we've kind of been mentioning in the past offensively.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I guess the only thing I would add to that
- 19:05Speaker 1: is having really studied and paid attention to their defense
- 19:08Speaker 1: this week. Unorganized, undisciplined penalties, blown coverages, uh, mistackles a.
- 19:18Speaker 2: It's bad, man, It is bad. It is bad, bad,
- 19:22Speaker 2: bad all the way around.
- 19:25Speaker 3: It was on Andre Cisco at a quote about seeing
- 19:28Speaker 3: some quit waiting.
- 19:29Speaker 1: When you start hearing players talking about guys quitting, this is, dude,
- 19:32Speaker 1: it's this.
- 19:33Speaker 2: They've only played six games and this is this is.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Where we are, and to the point where I don't know,
- 19:37Speaker 1: everybody's going to be talking about what's going to go
- 19:39Speaker 1: on with Doug Peterson, what's going to happen with Trent
- 19:41Speaker 1: Balk The first thing I'm doing and these are this
- 19:44Speaker 1: is one of those six teams with one win. I'm
- 19:46Speaker 1: if I'm a contending team. I am looking up and
- 19:49Speaker 1: down at that roster and saying, who can we cry
- 19:51Speaker 1: out of there? You know, is there is there a
- 19:54Speaker 1: way to get You're a team that needs a receiver
- 19:56Speaker 1: and there are plenty of them.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Is Christian Kirk going to be available, Like.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Are we gonna start Thomas isn't Yeah, Ryan Thomas ain't
- 20:03Speaker 1: going anywhere. But I mean, are you going to start
- 20:05Speaker 1: trying to trying to lift some players off of this
- 20:07Speaker 1: roster because this team's not going anywhere?
- 20:11Speaker 3: And Ingram had a huge game. It's really the only
- 20:14Speaker 3: positive I can point.
- 20:15Speaker 2: But even and when he's not fumbling the ball, yeah.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Right right, think Bigsby. We thought it was kind of coming.
- 20:21Speaker 3: You know, it was a breakout in seven.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Nice kick return, nice kick return in that game. All right,
- 20:28Speaker 1: this is too depressing to talk about Jackson.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Let's move on. Let's move on Houston, New England.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Drake May in his debut was fun to watch it, Uh,
- 20:36Speaker 1: going through that and taking some notes on that one,
- 20:39Speaker 1: some of the let's give you the good stuff. The
- 20:41Speaker 1: reason why it made sense to go to him is
- 20:43Speaker 1: because of some of the issues that they have up
- 20:45Speaker 1: front with Drake. You can move the pocket, he's sudden
- 20:49Speaker 1: to he he escaped a bunch, made some things happen.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Even when footspace got a little tight around him, he
- 20:55Speaker 1: was able to make some throws. He's got plenty of arm.
- 20:59Speaker 1: There was you know, there's a beautiful deep ball in
- 21:01Speaker 1: this game. I mean, the production was good. Three touchdown passes.
- 21:04Speaker 1: You'll take that for an offense that's really just hadn't
- 21:06Speaker 1: been able to.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Move the ball.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He gave you a lot of excitement, a lot of energy.
- 21:11Speaker 1: He has two picks. One of them's on a tip ball,
- 21:13Speaker 1: you know, I don't put that was not great. The
- 21:15Speaker 1: other one, but yeah, theah the one he first when
- 21:17Speaker 1: he sailed, he's just on his back foot and just
- 21:19Speaker 1: kind of sales it. The ball takes off on him.
- 21:21Speaker 1: There's still like the mechanical stuff with him. He's his
- 21:25Speaker 1: eyes move a lot faster than his feet at this
- 21:27Speaker 1: point in time. It's just connecting those two. It's going
- 21:30Speaker 1: to eliminate a lot of the issues that he has.
- 21:32Speaker 1: But he's seeing everything really fast. It's just now you've
- 21:34Speaker 1: got to get your feet connected to your eyes, and
- 21:36Speaker 1: that's going to help some of the accuracy stuff that
- 21:39Speaker 1: that can leave him at times. But for the first
- 21:41Speaker 1: time out against an outstanding defense that we've already seen
- 21:44Speaker 1: gobble up a rookie quarterback this year, I was very
- 21:47Speaker 1: encouraged by what I saw from Drake may and and
- 21:50Speaker 1: and truthfully gave a lifeless boring, unwatchable offense some much
- 21:55Speaker 1: needed juice.
- 21:56Speaker 3: One on the last line. I mean, that's what I
- 21:59Speaker 3: came away with. There's some optimism now, Like it's not like,
- 22:02Speaker 3: oh boy, here comes the offense. It's like, all right,
- 22:04Speaker 3: let's you know, let's see, let's see what Drake's got here. Now.
- 22:08Speaker 3: The thing I will say, like, did you know if
- 22:10Speaker 3: Drake may knew much or was acquainted with Will Anderson
- 22:14Speaker 3: at all before this game?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they got to know each other quite well.
- 22:18Speaker 3: We got to know each other pretty good in this game.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Three sacks. I mean Anderson just absolutely beat up both
- 22:25Speaker 3: the tackles, but I mean each one of them got
- 22:28Speaker 3: some a lot of people tackles too. Well, that's that
- 22:32Speaker 3: that that's part of the issue. Get a near thirty
- 22:36Speaker 3: percent win rate on his rushes, like one out of
- 22:39Speaker 3: every three, you're affecting the offense. Like that's that's pretty
- 22:43Speaker 3: dang good right there. He made quick work, as I said,
- 22:45Speaker 3: of both those tackles and a number of rushes. I
- 22:47Speaker 3: think on one of them, like the guy did the
- 22:50Speaker 3: right tackle, did a pirouette like twice trying to find
- 22:53Speaker 3: Will Anderson and just couldn't just couldn't find. It was
- 22:55Speaker 3: like a blur. He makes plays though, That's the thing,
- 22:58Speaker 3: Like he makes those splash plays on passing downs, but
- 23:01Speaker 3: he makes so many plays on the backside of run
- 23:04Speaker 3: plays away, like just coming down the line of scrimmage
- 23:07Speaker 3: with that with like the effort and the intensity, it's
- 23:10Speaker 3: just it's relentless. And I remember, you know, talking to
- 23:13Speaker 3: folks there when they drafted them in just like the
- 23:15Speaker 3: phrase that kept coming back with junkyard dog, you know,
- 23:18Speaker 3: and that's like when you got that kind of dude
- 23:20Speaker 3: that has that kind of talent. That's what you see
- 23:22Speaker 3: with Max Crosby, That's what you see with Aiden Hutchinson,
- 23:25Speaker 3: and that's why those guys are some of the best.
- 23:26Speaker 3: And that's what Will Anderson's trending towards.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's you know, honestly, you go back
- 23:31Speaker 2: to that draft.
- 23:31Speaker 1: I said at the time when they when they made
- 23:33Speaker 1: those two selections back to back, you have two guys
- 23:36Speaker 1: that could be the face of each side of the
- 23:38Speaker 1: ball with C. J. Stroud and Will Anderson, and two
- 23:41Speaker 1: guys who are are lauded and praised for their you know,
- 23:44Speaker 1: their work ethic, their leadership kind of a lead by example,
- 23:47Speaker 1: a way that they go about their business, and that
- 23:50Speaker 1: absolutely has been the case with the Houston Texans, who again,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I don't know how many teams you're taking over them
- 23:55Speaker 1: if we're gonna draft contenders, super Bowl contenders, and you're
- 23:57Speaker 1: going to open it up to the entire league, not
- 24:00Speaker 1: going to wait long before the Houston Texans come off
- 24:02Speaker 1: the board with how Competexico.
- 24:04Speaker 3: But being back was huge, Like again you saw you know,
- 24:07Speaker 3: we saw it in Week one, right, how much of
- 24:09Speaker 3: an emphasis that was going to be for him this year?
- 24:11Speaker 3: He goes for one hundred and fifty nine yard run,
- 24:13Speaker 3: which was his career long by the way, and it
- 24:16Speaker 3: comes in his one hundredth career game. They're getting the
- 24:18Speaker 3: most out of him if he stays healthy. I just
- 24:20Speaker 3: it's going to be. So it's like the Ravens really
- 24:23Speaker 3: is as we're talking about trying to deal with, you know,
- 24:25Speaker 3: the run in the past now, I mean like and
- 24:28Speaker 3: then that was the other thing about the Digs acquisition
- 24:31Speaker 3: that made so much sense to me, is like you
- 24:33Speaker 3: lost Tank Dell for a big part of last season, right,
- 24:36Speaker 3: so it was mostly Nico Collins trying to hold up,
- 24:38Speaker 3: you know, as a one man show. They got some
- 24:40Speaker 3: contributions from other guys, but now you have three top
- 24:45Speaker 3: tier type of players at wide receivers. So if you
- 24:47Speaker 3: lose one, like the Texans are without Nico Collins for
- 24:50Speaker 3: the next four weeks, you really don't miss a beat
- 24:53Speaker 3: within that offense with those other two guys, Dell and Diggs.
- 24:56Speaker 3: So it is just a lot to like there.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I'm going to give you this.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I want Drew to give me a number one to
- 25:02Speaker 1: ten in my ear who's producing. Then you give me
- 25:04Speaker 1: a number one to ten. And if you're listening and
- 25:06Speaker 1: you're driving in the car, give me a one to
- 25:08Speaker 1: ten on this. Because I'm I have a fledgling marketing company.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I'm trying to get up off the ground. So this
- 25:13Speaker 1: Sunday we have from London. We've got Patriots, We've got Jags.
- 25:20Speaker 1: That is six thirty West coast, nine to thirty East coast.
- 25:23Speaker 1: So when you wake up, how about little Drake and
- 25:26Speaker 1: eggs there on Sunday morning, one to ten? What do
- 25:29Speaker 1: we got here? Drink taking eggs two shoe that's terrible.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Come on, that's at least he's six.
- 25:37Speaker 3: He's not your brand. Come on, that is your that's
- 25:40Speaker 3: your brand. Though, and so like that is you know
- 25:44Speaker 3: understanding that I give that like a seven and a
- 25:46Speaker 3: half eight like it's thank you. That's that is your
- 25:49Speaker 3: wheelhouse right there.
- 25:51Speaker 1: That's right there, that's right there. I see the graphic
- 25:53Speaker 1: the promo right now. Well, I'm sure the network will
- 25:55Speaker 1: steal it. That's fine, free of charge. I'm just here
- 25:57Speaker 1: to help. I'm just team player.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say, on Thursday night up all this week,
- 26:00Speaker 3: when I'm on game day kickoff and they give me
- 26:02Speaker 3: a promo to read for London, I'm going to change
- 26:04Speaker 3: rise shine and watch football to let's go get some
- 26:08Speaker 3: Drake and eggs.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Drake and Eggs. Now, we're talking all right. If you
- 26:12Speaker 1: think of anything better, let me know. But that's what
- 26:13Speaker 1: I've got so far. That'll be nine to thirty Eastern.
- 26:16Speaker 1: You can watch Drake May and the Patriots take on
- 26:19Speaker 1: the Jacksonville Jabbar and we are going to look at
- 26:26Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay Bucks and the New Orleans Saints. By
- 26:28Speaker 1: the way, I have cruise to victory out of New
- 26:30Speaker 1: Orleans before, I've taken a cruise out of New Orleans,
- 26:33Speaker 1: so I feel like I'm prepared and qualified to touch
- 26:36Speaker 1: on this subject here a game that featured Spencer Rattlers.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Of course you have, you're a New Orleans guy. That
- 26:42Speaker 1: featured Spencer Rattler's debut. I'll get to that in a second.
- 26:45Speaker 1: The Bucks put up fifty one. Why don't we start
- 26:48Speaker 1: there on the Tampa side of things? What they're doing offensively, well.
- 26:52Speaker 3: I just think it's so fun to watch, you know,
- 26:54Speaker 3: two receivers who everyone knows are going to be focal points, right,
- 26:58Speaker 3: and while the Saints were able to take Mike Evans away,
- 27:02Speaker 3: Chris Godwin is there to pick up the slack right.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Eleven catches on thirteen targets, one hundred and twenty five
- 27:07Speaker 3: yards and a pair of touchdowns. Still one of the
- 27:10Speaker 3: best in the business at that and especially coming out
- 27:12Speaker 3: of the slot too when they can get him in there.
- 27:14Speaker 3: And then you know, there without Rashad White in this game,
- 27:16Speaker 3: they're their lead running back. But do we have a
- 27:19Speaker 3: report on Sean Tucker? Do we need to go back
- 27:21Speaker 3: in Shawn Baby? Yeah? Second year player year?
- 27:26Speaker 2: Is that twenty two?
- 27:27Speaker 3: It would have been twenty three. I think this was
- 27:29Speaker 3: year two two or twenty three, depending on depending on
- 27:33Speaker 3: like experience. Right, that's always kind of funky, So Sean
- 27:36Speaker 3: Tucker fourteen carries one hundred and thirty six yards, and
- 27:38Speaker 3: then you know, Bucky Irving's still you know, and Tucker.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Most of Tucker's came towards the end of the game.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Bucky Irving is such a nice piece for this offense,
- 27:46Speaker 3: like both in the air on the ground. I mean,
- 27:49Speaker 3: he is he is an explosive quotient. Mike arguably their
- 27:53Speaker 3: most explosive player on offense, which is a lot of
- 27:56Speaker 3: fun to watch. And you know, like Baker just the
- 27:59Speaker 3: three interceptions. You know, you you look at that and
- 28:02Speaker 3: you're like, all right, that's that's a tough one. But
- 28:05Speaker 3: they just like they're so mentally tough. I feel like
- 28:08Speaker 3: this team is, and I think Baker's a big reason
- 28:10Speaker 3: for that, like just always the competitor in him, the
- 28:13Speaker 3: edge in him, is always looking for more. Uh. It's
- 28:15Speaker 3: like they so they you know, they were up seventeen
- 28:17Speaker 3: to nothing in this game. They end up going down
- 28:19Speaker 3: twenty seven to twenty four in the half and then
- 28:22Speaker 3: just shut out the Saints in the second half, I
- 28:24Speaker 3: mean shut them out to the to the tune of
- 28:28Speaker 3: was it twenty seven to nothing in the second half?
- 28:30Speaker 3: Like that is a mentally tough team to deal with,
- 28:33Speaker 3: kind of the roller coasters in a you know, a
- 28:35Speaker 3: game like this that's a division game and it's always
- 28:37Speaker 3: heated between these two teams.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Uh.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Sean tucker Well five h nine to two, so five
- 28:42Speaker 1: nine and a quarter, two hundred and seven pounds. Uh,
- 28:44Speaker 1: he had thirty eight catches. They used him some in
- 28:46Speaker 1: the slot, choppy stepper. He's physical on the perimeter, he's
- 28:51Speaker 1: a little bit tight. He struggled in pass proge, a
- 28:54Speaker 1: little bit overpowered there.
- 28:56Speaker 4: Uh.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I thought he was physical. I didn't think he was
- 28:58Speaker 1: super dynamic. He was one hundred and eighty fifth player.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Did you say he was undrafted? Is that correct?
- 29:04Speaker 3: I'd say that, but I was sure we will.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Get confirmation on that before the show was over. But uh, yeah, no,
- 29:12Speaker 1: that's uh, that was a good year, you know who.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I had one spot ahead of him, there you go.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So I'll take that as a w at one hundred
- 29:18Speaker 1: and eighty five on my list. But Keith Mitchell was
- 29:20Speaker 1: one spot, one spot ahead of him. It's always interesting
- 29:22Speaker 1: when you look back on these lists and go back
- 29:24Speaker 1: through these players and see some of the guys that
- 29:26Speaker 1: have found good spots.
- 29:28Speaker 3: And around them.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, they kind of similar type guys there. Keith
- 29:33Speaker 1: Mitchell get a little more juice undersize, but uh, nice
- 29:36Speaker 1: to see him have a really nice game there for
- 29:38Speaker 1: the Bucks.
- 29:38Speaker 2: On the on the Spencer Rattler side of things.
- 29:40Speaker 1: For the Saints, you mentioned it second half didn't go
- 29:42Speaker 1: quite as well, but man, they moved the pocket a
- 29:45Speaker 1: ton with him.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Boots, rollouts to the right to the left.
- 29:50Speaker 1: It seemed like a very simple game plan, which was
- 29:52Speaker 1: when we're in the pocket, we're going to get the
- 29:54Speaker 1: ball out quick. We're not going to ask you in
- 29:56Speaker 1: your first start to hang in the pocket, read everything out.
- 30:00Speaker 1: We're gonna for when we take some shots down the field,
- 30:02Speaker 1: we're gonna move the pocket. We're gonna split the field
- 30:04Speaker 1: in half. Let you operate that way, and then when
- 30:08Speaker 1: we're inside the pocket, we're gonna get you some quick
- 30:10Speaker 1: hitters and get you some layups. It was actually a
- 30:11Speaker 1: pretty good plan to get him off to a good start.
- 30:14Speaker 1: So I was impressed. The ball comes out, well, he's
- 30:16Speaker 1: got a live arm. Just had a little bit underthrown
- 30:19Speaker 1: deep ball on a pick. But you know, in terms
- 30:22Speaker 1: of the you know, just the way the ball came
- 30:24Speaker 1: out of his hand, the athleticism, moving around shoot first
- 30:28Speaker 1: time out against a team and a defense that can
- 30:30Speaker 1: give you a lot of different looks and and and
- 30:33Speaker 1: some pressure looks as well. I thought Spencer Ratler held
- 30:36Speaker 1: up held up quite well there.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, and on the defensive side for New Orleans,
- 30:41Speaker 3: I feel like it's getting a little loud down in
- 30:43Speaker 3: New Orleans with Dennis Allen after you know, starting out
- 30:46Speaker 3: to and oer and now losing when it's.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Your side of the ball.
- 30:48Speaker 1: As a head coach, that's always tough, man, when you're
- 30:51Speaker 1: battling your expertise.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Yeah, there's nobody to you know, there's nobody thrown to
- 30:56Speaker 3: the bus here, you know, and you know when you
- 30:58Speaker 3: look at this thing, like just just looking at the surface, right,
- 31:02Speaker 3: which is what we consider the box score. Your five
- 31:05Speaker 3: leading tacklers are defensive backs, like a Debo Lattimore, Howden,
- 31:10Speaker 3: Abram Alante Taylor. Your five leading tacklers ten, ten, ten, seven,
- 31:14Speaker 3: and six. Like you're not getting a lot of help
- 31:17Speaker 3: up front, you know, when when that's happening. And now
- 31:20Speaker 3: there's a lot of different reasons for that, but just
- 31:22Speaker 3: that that was one thing that kind of stood out
- 31:24Speaker 3: to me too.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean this.
- 31:26Speaker 1: I feel like we've been showing highlights for this entire discussion.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I haven't seen the same play twice. They're just throwing
- 31:31Speaker 1: it all over the place against them. So good win
- 31:34Speaker 1: for Tampa four and too they're rolling. Let's get to
- 31:36Speaker 1: the next game here Arizona Green Bay. No show from
- 31:39Speaker 1: the Cardinals.
- 31:39Speaker 2: We'll get to that.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you a little saucy nug here, a
- 31:42Speaker 1: saucy nug on. Can you tell me who has more
- 31:45Speaker 1: touchdown passes at this point in time when you can
- 31:48Speaker 1: consider all of last year and to where we are
- 31:50Speaker 1: at this point in the season right now than Jordan
- 31:52Speaker 1: Love who has more than him. That's why it's a
- 31:54Speaker 1: saucy nug because it's nobody.
- 31:57Speaker 2: That's why zero.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Yeah. No, he was so good as been back half
- 32:02Speaker 3: of last year. And the fact that it was all
- 32:03Speaker 3: through a car wash.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Did you did you see.
- 32:06Speaker 1: The throw that he made through the car wash in
- 32:07Speaker 1: that game where there's like six different hands of defenders
- 32:10Speaker 1: and the ball just just smoothly goes right through him.
- 32:14Speaker 1: It was an incredible throw in the middle of the field.
- 32:18Speaker 1: But he's that that is a confident dude. Right now,
- 32:20Speaker 1: He's had the talent. We knew that coming out of
- 32:22Speaker 1: college in Utah State. Now I had a chance to
- 32:23Speaker 1: learn develop and now you're seeing just the confidence that
- 32:26Speaker 1: he's playing with is is pretty ridiculous.
- 32:30Speaker 3: And having Christian Watson back as we see that touchdown
- 32:32Speaker 3: grab there and a great throw from Jordan Love, I mean,
- 32:34Speaker 3: they they've got they've got some targets. Now we talked
- 32:37Speaker 3: about them. You know, Romeo Dobbs comes back and finds
- 32:40Speaker 3: his way into the game plan once again. And then
- 32:42Speaker 3: you throw in Jayden Reid, who we we both kind
- 32:45Speaker 3: of felt like had assumed that wide receiver one role.
- 32:48Speaker 3: That's that's pretty special. I want to take a quick
- 32:50Speaker 3: second to give a tip of the cat to Zach
- 32:52Speaker 3: tom Well. I think he's having a really good season
- 32:55Speaker 3: at right tack Packers. He did fourth round pick out
- 32:59Speaker 3: a weak four as we saw at the East West
- 33:00Speaker 3: Shrine Bowl on an NFL network, and kind of got
- 33:03Speaker 3: the sense there that the coaching staff, you know that's
- 33:06Speaker 3: a you know, mix of player, mix of coaches around
- 33:08Speaker 3: the league were really impressed with what he did in
- 33:10Speaker 3: that game. He played I think he played some garden
- 33:13Speaker 3: center in that game. And then in that week and
- 33:16Speaker 3: now of course, is a mainstay at right tackle, where
- 33:19Speaker 3: the majority of the Packers rushing yards were coming from
- 33:23Speaker 3: in this game. In fact, five of their six explosive
- 33:26Speaker 3: runs came off the right side, and the one that
- 33:28Speaker 3: didn't was a reverse going back to the left side.
- 33:31Speaker 3: So like they know when they need, when they want yards,
- 33:35Speaker 3: that they're going to go off to the to the
- 33:36Speaker 3: right side. With Zach tom like he is, he has
- 33:38Speaker 3: been a guy the last couple of weeks that that
- 33:41Speaker 3: really stands out to me is becoming one of the
- 33:43Speaker 3: better right tackles in football.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he's He's played really well for a little
- 33:47Speaker 1: while now. So they found a gym there. On the
- 33:49Speaker 1: Cardinals side of things, Marvin Harrison Junior gets a concussion
- 33:52Speaker 1: early in this ballgame. Couldn't get anything really going offensively
- 33:55Speaker 1: that they are kind of they've got a little bit
- 33:57Speaker 1: of a hero or zero vibe to him on the
- 34:00Speaker 1: offensive side of the ball. I was actually more disappointed
- 34:03Speaker 1: just the defense didn't give you more because I thought
- 34:04Speaker 1: on that side of the ball they've been, you know,
- 34:06Speaker 1: a little bit more consistent at least from you know,
- 34:08Speaker 1: an effort standpoint, and having a better feel for what
- 34:11Speaker 1: you're going to get. But it's a it's a it's
- 34:13Speaker 1: a team that's it's tough to predict what you're gonna
- 34:15Speaker 1: see what you're gonna get from them on a weekly basis,
- 34:17Speaker 1: And they just got their tails kicked by the Green
- 34:19Speaker 1: Bay Packers. I'll see them next week, so I'm looking
- 34:21Speaker 1: forward to really studying the Cardinals this week. They'll host
- 34:25Speaker 1: the Chargers on Monday night, so I think we have
- 34:27Speaker 1: two Monday nighters next week.
- 34:28Speaker 2: They will be one of them.
- 34:29Speaker 1: So I'll have some more thoughts on them later in
- 34:31Speaker 1: the week because I really dig into the tape the
- 34:33Speaker 1: game I was at Chargers. They go on the road,
- 34:36Speaker 1: they beat the Denver Broncos tailor two halves. Chargers completely
- 34:40Speaker 1: dominate the first half. They end up they're up twenty
- 34:43Speaker 1: nothing at half. They end up, you know, only getting
- 34:45Speaker 1: a field goal in the second half. And bow Knicks
- 34:47Speaker 1: led a little bit of a charge there in the
- 34:50Speaker 1: in the second half and got the Broncos within one
- 34:52Speaker 1: score and had a chance with an on side kick
- 34:54Speaker 1: to get the ball back and maybe try and send
- 34:55Speaker 1: this thing to overtime. I love the competitiveness from bo Nix.
- 34:59Speaker 1: I'll talk more about that in a second. I do,
- 35:01Speaker 1: by the way, have another saucy nug for you if
- 35:03Speaker 1: you want a bonus saucing nug. That's the first time
- 35:05Speaker 1: the Chargers have won in Denver since twenty eighteen. It
- 35:08Speaker 1: has been a house of horrors for them going up
- 35:10Speaker 1: to Mile High. So a big win for them there.
- 35:14Speaker 3: But it showed years for Denver. Wow.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I know it didn't matter.
- 35:17Speaker 3: They split.
- 35:18Speaker 1: It feels like they split almost every year that I
- 35:20Speaker 1: think that. The Broncos had one three in a row
- 35:22Speaker 1: coming into this game yesterday, but it has been a
- 35:25Speaker 1: pretty competitive series their home and home style. But Chargers,
- 35:29Speaker 1: they got the run game going. They had Slater and
- 35:31Speaker 1: alt back which makes all the difference for them offensively.
- 35:35Speaker 2: JK.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Dobbins ran the ball well. Pat certain gets a concussion
- 35:38Speaker 1: early in the game, so you take Certan out. That's
- 35:41Speaker 1: a huge blow to the Denver Broncos. Camani Vi Deell
- 35:46Speaker 1: he gets some work with Gus Edwards on ir he
- 35:48Speaker 1: catches a wheel route for a touchdown. Good to see
- 35:51Speaker 1: some of those young players. But a lot of injuries
- 35:53Speaker 1: in the secondary and in that comeback in the second half.
- 35:56Speaker 1: The Chargers are out there with two fifth round pick
- 35:58Speaker 1: rookies tarheeb Still and cam Hart and they had a
- 36:01Speaker 1: tough time with Courtland Sutton and company. And for how
- 36:04Speaker 1: bad things looked for Bonix in the first half, helter
- 36:07Speaker 1: skelter just not just it seemed like it was moving
- 36:11Speaker 1: way too fast for him. He used his legs, created
- 36:15Speaker 1: some things and made some nice throws. In the second half,
- 36:17Speaker 1: especially having those corners down, they found something with Cortland Sutton.
- 36:21Speaker 1: So I love the fight. I love the fight from Bonix.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I love his athleticism, I love his competes. He's still
- 36:27Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's a work in progress for them
- 36:29Speaker 1: to be more consistent just working from the pocket right.
- 36:33Speaker 3: You know, kind of been a you know, one of
- 36:36Speaker 3: those guys that you always kind of pay attention to
- 36:39Speaker 3: in LA is obviously Derwin James, But I think another
- 36:42Speaker 3: guy who your eyes kind of go to even when
- 36:44Speaker 3: Derwent's out there, but especially when he's not, is a
- 36:47Speaker 3: lowie Gilman kind of flies under the radar a little bit, deech,
- 36:50Speaker 3: I feel like, but you get them each and every week. Yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 3: a good player comes up with a sack in this
- 36:55Speaker 3: game and is the leading tackler. Just a guy that
- 36:57Speaker 3: kind of seems to be in the right place quite
- 36:59Speaker 3: a bit. What's your what's your take on Gilman's importance
- 37:02Speaker 3: to that defense.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a nerve center.
- 37:04Speaker 1: So I've always been an advocate of having kind of
- 37:06Speaker 1: that communicator, someone who's a leader, someone who's who's versatile heat.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I wouldn't say Louie Gilman does any one thing at.
- 37:14Speaker 1: An elite e lead level, but he can do everything
- 37:18Speaker 1: at a at a solid level, and he's an excellent communicator.
- 37:21Speaker 1: He's incredibly smart, so he can get everything, all the checks,
- 37:25Speaker 1: all that stuff lined up and allows you, you know,
- 37:28Speaker 1: with a lot of the three safety stuff that they do,
- 37:31Speaker 1: you know, with Derwin to be able to move down
- 37:33Speaker 1: and do some different things because of Louie Gilman can
- 37:36Speaker 1: kind of, you know, communicate everything and make sure everything's
- 37:38Speaker 1: covered up there on the back end.
- 37:39Speaker 2: He is a very good player.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Like if you talk about any sport, in glue guys
- 37:44Speaker 1: is a is a popular term, and in personnel, he's
- 37:46Speaker 1: one of those. He is absolutely a glue guy. I'm
- 37:49Speaker 1: glad you brought up his name. But you know, as
- 37:52Speaker 1: Chargers team, if you look at the schedule, they could
- 37:55Speaker 1: go they could rip off four five in a row.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Here They've got a very favorable schedule upcoming.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Arizona, Saint Cleveland, Titans, Bengles before a primetime game against
- 38:09Speaker 3: the Ravens.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, which you know, I think Jim will
- 38:15Speaker 1: be motivated for that one. I don't know, maybe our
- 38:18Speaker 1: bubble noah, Yeah, a little bit of tension on that one.
- 38:22Speaker 1: But anyways, big win for the Chargers, and I did
- 38:24Speaker 1: like the fight I saw from the Broncos there in
- 38:25Speaker 1: the second half. Let's get through one more game in
- 38:28Speaker 1: this rip here, and that's Pittsburgh taking out the Las
- 38:31Speaker 1: Vegas Raiders thirty two to thirteen. I think maybe more
- 38:34Speaker 1: was made of Max Crosby, Chevin coach Caldwell on the
- 38:38Speaker 1: sideline than anything that really transpired in this game. But
- 38:41Speaker 1: you know, look, the Pittsburgh Steelers defense just kind of
- 38:44Speaker 1: they just kind of locked up the Vegas squad led
- 38:46Speaker 1: by eight and O'Connell.
- 38:48Speaker 3: I you know, what do you do now at quarterback?
- 38:52Speaker 3: You go back to Gardner, Minshew, because like this is
- 38:55Speaker 3: the nightmare scenario, right, you have the early hook on
- 38:58Speaker 3: on Gardner. Now you go the O'Connell and it looks worse.
- 39:02Speaker 3: So now what do you do? Like, are you going
- 39:03Speaker 3: to play this thing now throughout the rest of the
- 39:07Speaker 3: season and kind of go back and forth. That's man,
- 39:11Speaker 3: that's that's hard to deal with. And I don't know,
- 39:15Speaker 3: you know, I can't imagine a scenario where Devonte Adams,
- 39:18Speaker 3: you know, I know there was that talk that maybe
- 39:20Speaker 3: that they're coming to some kind of you know, resolution
- 39:25Speaker 3: here and he might end up staying with the race.
- 39:26Speaker 3: I don't know how that happens now, based off seeing
- 39:30Speaker 3: the product that you're thrown out there. Offensively, it's just
- 39:33Speaker 3: it's a it's a tough look and when man, it
- 39:35Speaker 3: just paints the picture like when you feel like you
- 39:37Speaker 3: don't have when you don't have a top fifteen quarterback,
- 39:40Speaker 3: like obviously there's only a couple of teams that have those,
- 39:42Speaker 3: you know, that really up upper level, elite tier quarterback.
- 39:46Speaker 3: But man, you don't have like a guy that's in
- 39:48Speaker 3: the top half of the league. You're really fighting and
- 39:50Speaker 3: you're struggling. And that's especially for a team that's got
- 39:53Speaker 3: no run game like the Raiders. There's just nowhere to
- 39:55Speaker 3: turn right now.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Who is going to get approved as a minority owner
- 40:00Speaker 1: for the Raiders, by the way, that's close to coming down.
- 40:02Speaker 3: What's his name is part of that that ownership. Can't
- 40:06Speaker 3: play in games, tom Brady just gonna.
- 40:10Speaker 1: I'm not saying tom Brady's not going to play in games,
- 40:13Speaker 1: but if tom Brady's gonna own a little piece of
- 40:15Speaker 1: the pie, right?
- 40:17Speaker 2: Uh?
- 40:17Speaker 1: A quarterback in college? Is there a quarterback in college
- 40:20Speaker 1: that tom Brady's been mentoring? Is there anybody has anything?
- 40:23Speaker 1: We've been reported about that guy up in Colorado that
- 40:26Speaker 1: he's you know, has his cell phone number and they
- 40:29Speaker 1: communicate all the time, and he's mentored him as of
- 40:32Speaker 1: his relationship with Dion. Yeah, exactly, he's tight Colorado State baby.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Uh No, I mean, I'm I'm looking at that. Why
- 40:43Speaker 1: I've watched a lot of Shador over the last week.
- 40:45Speaker 1: He's still on the ball, really really well, really talented.
- 40:50Speaker 1: And every time you watch the broadcast, they mentioned about
- 40:52Speaker 1: how how tom Brady's been his mentor and all this
- 40:54Speaker 1: kind of stuff. But I'm like, well, need a quarterback.
- 40:57Speaker 1: You've got obvious connection to him. I think that Dion
- 40:59Speaker 1: would be happy to see him play all his games
- 41:02Speaker 1: indoors there in Vegas, and and the kind of the
- 41:04Speaker 1: mystique in the marquee that the Raiders bring. Marketing stuff too. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:11Speaker 1: he kind of fits. I think he actually kind of
- 41:13Speaker 1: liked that fit. We got plenty of time to get
- 41:15Speaker 1: to the draft and mock drafts and all that stuff.
- 41:17Speaker 1: But that was just my thought today. I'm like, I
- 41:18Speaker 1: could see hid in the all black. They're the silver
- 41:21Speaker 1: and black with the Raiders, would make some sense. All right,
- 41:24Speaker 1: we'll get to some more games in just a moment.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Let's rip through the remaining games here. Cleveland Philly, this
- 41:35Speaker 1: is a game. Look, Browns, they are in trouble. I
- 41:39Speaker 1: mean they're one in five. There's Kevin Stefancy came out.
- 41:43Speaker 1: He's not going to make a change of quarterback. This
- 41:45Speaker 1: is what you got, Deshaun Watson. It's not pretty. It's
- 41:48Speaker 1: ugly football. It's hard to watch. It is what it is.
- 41:51Speaker 1: The story of this one, though, is on the other
- 41:53Speaker 1: side with Philadelphia getting to win. They get to three
- 41:56Speaker 1: and two, but it doesn't feel like a positive three
- 41:59Speaker 1: and two, and it's just you know, look it. The
- 42:03Speaker 1: story that's going to dominate is what uh coach Siriani
- 42:06Speaker 1: you know, did when he's interacting with the fans. So
- 42:08Speaker 1: before we give our thoughts on that, let's hear what
- 42:11Speaker 1: coach Sirianni had to say after the game.
- 42:14Speaker 4: I was having fun. I was having fun, and they
- 42:16Speaker 4: kind of got some feedback from the guys. Is the
- 42:18Speaker 4: sense of like, we need we need you and back Nick,
- 42:21Speaker 4: we need we need your we need your energy, we
- 42:23Speaker 4: need your your your focus, we need your like I've
- 42:26Speaker 4: gotten that from a couple of players, and you know
- 42:29Speaker 4: when I'm when I'm operating and having fun, I think
- 42:31Speaker 4: that that that uh breeds to the rest of the
- 42:34Speaker 4: football team.
- 42:36Speaker 1: So, uh, there's the interaction you see big dom there
- 42:40Speaker 1: as as coach Siriani is talking to the fans, uh giving.
- 42:44Speaker 2: It to him. I I don't have his big issue
- 42:47Speaker 2: with this, as everybody else does.
- 42:49Speaker 1: I know it's been kind of a popular topic to
- 42:52Speaker 1: just be like, hey, you know you got to act
- 42:53Speaker 1: to act like the head coach, and that's beneath you
- 42:56Speaker 1: and it's immature and it's silly.
- 42:58Speaker 2: But I also think if we're.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Going to talk about out what we do every year
- 43:01Speaker 1: when the coaching hiring cycle starts, right, we always say, hey,
- 43:04Speaker 1: be yourself, be authentic. That's the most important thing. Don't
- 43:06Speaker 1: try and be somebody else. We've seen everybody that's coach
- 43:09Speaker 1: for Belichick try and be Belichick doesn't work. You've got
- 43:11Speaker 1: to be who you are. I can say this honestly,
- 43:14Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni's one of one. There's nobody else like him
- 43:18Speaker 1: in the NFL, and some people don't care for it,
- 43:21Speaker 1: but the guy has had pretty good results if you
- 43:24Speaker 1: just want to look at the win loss record of
- 43:25Speaker 1: what he's done.
- 43:27Speaker 3: By the way, they're a little easier to watch when
- 43:28Speaker 3: Aj Brown and Devonte smith A're playing like That's also
- 43:31Speaker 3: that that was a much better product than what we've
- 43:34Speaker 3: seen the last couple of weeks. So do you care?
- 43:38Speaker 1: I mean, it just seems like that was the big
- 43:39Speaker 1: storyline coming out of that.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Do you really care?
- 43:43Speaker 3: You know what? I find it entertaining so have at
- 43:46Speaker 3: a coach like I'm don't bother me at all, Like
- 43:50Speaker 3: let's let's let's go have some fun. Yeah, I mean, like,
- 43:52Speaker 3: be you right if that's if that's what it is,
- 43:54Speaker 3: but hey, be ready for it right when it goes
- 43:56Speaker 3: the other way, right, and when.
- 43:57Speaker 1: They're talking about that's what you get when you do that,
- 43:59Speaker 1: that's what you yet.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really care. I don't really care. Just
- 44:03Speaker 2: go win games.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Whatever you want to do after that, knock yourself out,
- 44:05Speaker 1: but just go win football games. I don't want to
- 44:07Speaker 1: pile on Cleveland. We've done it every week. They're one
- 44:09Speaker 1: and five. Let's move to the next game. By the way, Cincinnati,
- 44:13Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Zadarias Smith, would he be on the edge rusher, trading
- 44:17Speaker 3: block here?
- 44:18Speaker 2: You can throw him on the list for Detroit.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Yeah, he's been in that division a different times.
- 44:24Speaker 1: It's not gonna be Miles Garrett ain't going anywhere. You're
- 44:26Speaker 1: not getting him, so we might as well look at
- 44:28Speaker 1: some of those other names. Cincinnati and the Giants. Not
- 44:31Speaker 1: a pretty performance from the Bengals, but they did what
- 44:33Speaker 1: they had to do. Seventeen to seven. Defense looked good
- 44:37Speaker 1: with what they were able to do. The first time
- 44:39Speaker 1: the able a team in here ten points since twenty nineteen.
- 44:42Speaker 1: That one kind of surprised me. Burn Chase Brown.
- 44:45Speaker 2: They've got a running back.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I took away exactly. And you know,
- 44:50Speaker 3: especially after the efforts that you've seen on the defensive
- 44:52Speaker 3: side from Cincinnati the last couple of weeks, like that,
- 44:55Speaker 3: that's encouraging. Now, look, it's this is a again, a
- 44:57Speaker 3: elite neighbors less New York Times. Did you get a replacement,
- 45:01Speaker 3: by the way. For the rookie draft, I don't remember.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I think I had McConkie. I don't
- 45:05Speaker 1: think it scored me any points. It could have been
- 45:06Speaker 1: a rough one for me. We'll find out tomorrow, but
- 45:07Speaker 1: I don't think I had a good tomorrow on the
- 45:09Speaker 1: rookie draft.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so like, Look, I think that that is
- 45:12Speaker 3: going to limit the New York Giants. Obviously they found
- 45:16Speaker 3: a way to get it done last week without Neighbors
- 45:18Speaker 3: against Seattle, but you know, they had those those touchdowns
- 45:21Speaker 3: come from the blackfield goal and all that. So I
- 45:24Speaker 3: didn't have that this time and felt like they were
- 45:27Speaker 3: limited and so they need they need Neighbors back. Hopefully
- 45:30Speaker 3: he comes back here.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'd like to see him back there. He's
- 45:33Speaker 1: just been fun to watch. Let's get to Atlanta, Carolina.
- 45:37Speaker 1: This game was close for a little bit and then
- 45:39Speaker 1: all of a sudden, you know, you had the turnovers
- 45:41Speaker 1: and the Falcons kind of opened it up late. They're
- 45:43Speaker 1: four and too kind of I think right where we
- 45:45Speaker 1: thought they would be looking at the landscape of the
- 45:48Speaker 1: division right there in the mix.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Yeah, did you think they'd be rushing for two hundred yards.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Though with with.
- 45:53Speaker 1: With Kirk, that sounds surprising when you look at the backs.
- 45:59Speaker 1: They've got us solid offensive line, and when you actually
- 46:02Speaker 1: have a credible quarterback, you can scare some safeties out
- 46:04Speaker 1: of there. And also, it's not a good ball club
- 46:06Speaker 1: their playing.
- 46:08Speaker 3: No, no, it's not not a lot of blue players
- 46:11Speaker 3: on that team that was wearing blue.
- 46:14Speaker 2: And so I heard a lot from the Panthers after
- 46:16Speaker 2: they got their one win.
- 46:17Speaker 1: By the way, those fans were all over me for
- 46:19Speaker 1: saying I thought they'd have the first pick in the draft.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Oh, they're still on track at this point. I think
- 46:24Speaker 3: it was good to look on the positive sicking. Yeah,
- 46:27Speaker 3: things are tracking. Jatavian Sanders, you know, five catches forty
- 46:33Speaker 3: nine yards in this game. Deontae Johnson showed up in
- 46:35Speaker 3: this game. You know, Xavier Legette got a touchdown. If look,
- 46:39Speaker 3: if you're looking for things to get excited about, you know,
- 46:41Speaker 3: there's some young guys there that you're hoping to account
- 46:43Speaker 3: on moving forward. But they're going to obviously have to
- 46:46Speaker 3: figure out the quarterback thing. And I would imagine if
- 46:49Speaker 3: things continued down this track that we're probably going to
- 46:52Speaker 3: see Bryce Young again here pretty soon.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that was rough, by the way, the clip that
- 46:57Speaker 1: was circulating around of of Mark Sanchez. You know, you
- 47:01Speaker 1: need a prefer reception. He's talking about having a professional
- 47:06Speaker 1: to be able to follow and emulate. And then we
- 47:08Speaker 1: should have been a pick six if they don't take
- 47:10Speaker 1: a knee and away the end zone. But anyways, not
- 47:12Speaker 1: fortuitous there, Uh, Indie Tennessee, Uh you get it looks
- 47:17Speaker 1: like the sound of it, we're gonna get We're gonna
- 47:19Speaker 1: get Anthony Richardson back. I don't know if if the
- 47:22Speaker 1: Colts are excited about that or not. With the way
- 47:24Speaker 1: Flacco has been rolling.
- 47:27Speaker 3: What would the Raiders give the Colts for Joe Flacco
- 47:30Speaker 3: right now?
- 47:31Speaker 2: I don't think the Raiders necessarily want to Joe Flacco.
- 47:35Speaker 2: They don't know.
- 47:35Speaker 1: They are motivated to win a lot of games this
- 47:38Speaker 1: year rt. They need a quarterback of the future much
- 47:41Speaker 1: better he's playing on Saturday.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Situation than the Raiders. That's considerably too.
- 47:48Speaker 2: But is your goal to win seven games or is
- 47:50Speaker 2: your is your.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Goal to you know, finally solve that issue quarterback deal?
- 47:55Speaker 3: Yeah? I get it. Yeah, So look, I think it's uh,
- 47:59Speaker 3: it's watching Joe Flacco play. It's fun what I think
- 48:02Speaker 3: it's going to be. You know, I can't wait to
- 48:03Speaker 3: see what happens, you know, when Anthony Richardson comes back.
- 48:06Speaker 3: But like, do we still get Josh downs, you know
- 48:09Speaker 3: in this game plan the way that he has been
- 48:11Speaker 3: same with Michael Pittman. You know, they did all this
- 48:13Speaker 3: without Jonathan Taylor in this game. So the Bolts are
- 48:18Speaker 3: in pretty good shape here. And I think, you know,
- 48:21Speaker 3: and I know that Brian Callahan on the flip side
- 48:23Speaker 3: said that he's still sticking with Will Levis. They need
- 48:26Speaker 3: to show some signs of progress on that side.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of Will Levis, one of his targets not
- 48:33Speaker 1: happy we can roll the audio. Calvin Redley eight targets,
- 48:37Speaker 1: no receptions, his thoughts, I had its targets.
- 48:41Speaker 2: In the part of the game, fourth quarter.
- 48:45Speaker 3: A lot of them, all right, man, So need some
- 48:47Speaker 3: in the beginning too, and they're like crazy for me.
- 48:52Speaker 3: So I'm just know it is.
- 48:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but I gotta get the ball early in the
- 48:59Speaker 4: game so I could be in the game and here
- 49:01Speaker 4: with the team so I can play well.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Also, I don't know, we just don't know. We want
- 49:07Speaker 3: to win the games, but I don't know.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Thoughts, thoughts, on that one.
- 49:14Speaker 3: It's like I, I mean, I understand where he's coming from.
- 49:17Speaker 3: It's tough to verbalize that right in in in the public.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I guess it's tough for anyone to take that. You know,
- 49:24Speaker 3: it's easy to take that the wrong way, right, or
- 49:27Speaker 3: maybe the way he's intended. But it's not a good
- 49:30Speaker 3: It's not the look you want post game after your
- 49:32Speaker 3: fourth loss of the team. I think is more the
- 49:34Speaker 3: moral of the story. That's probably an internal conversation, but
- 49:38Speaker 3: I understand the frustrations mounting eight times your targeted zero
- 49:42Speaker 3: catches and the majority of those targets come. You know,
- 49:45Speaker 3: at the end of the game you need you need
- 49:46Speaker 3: to get He's a guy's getting a rhythm. I understand that.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Part of it.
- 49:50Speaker 1: You know, I've I've uh, you've heard me say this
- 49:52Speaker 1: before with quarterbacks. I've offered and I've said this when
- 49:55Speaker 1: I've met with college quarterbacks coming into the process. I've
- 49:58Speaker 1: given them the the answers to the test on how
- 50:01Speaker 1: to handle the media, which is, hey, when you know,
- 50:05Speaker 1: when things go wrong, it's me. When they go right,
- 50:08Speaker 1: it's we like we always share credit and I'll own blame.
- 50:11Speaker 1: That's just quarterback press conference one oh one. Here's I've
- 50:14Speaker 1: never done it with whiteouts, so here would be my
- 50:17Speaker 1: free of charge advice to whiteouts to basically get the
- 50:20Speaker 1: same message across that you just heard from Calvin Ridley,
- 50:23Speaker 1: but just with this little twist, all you have to
- 50:26Speaker 1: do is say, hey, man, it's look, we lost a ballgame.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Nobody wants to win more than I do, and I
- 50:32Speaker 1: just I want to be able to help us win.
- 50:34Speaker 1: You know, I just would love to be more involved
- 50:36Speaker 1: so I can help us win the game. I think
- 50:38Speaker 1: I can help us win. I'd love to get more opportunities,
- 50:42Speaker 1: you know, to help my offense and to help us
- 50:44Speaker 1: win ball games. Like you're saying the same thing, but
- 50:47Speaker 1: you're just saying the motivation behind it is more like, Hey,
- 50:50Speaker 1: I want this for the offense, I want this for
- 50:52Speaker 1: the team, but you're still saying the same thing. Throw
- 50:55Speaker 1: me the ball for crying out loud, give me some
- 50:57Speaker 1: targets early in the ballgame.
- 50:59Speaker 3: See see. But then on move the sticks on Monday,
- 51:02Speaker 3: you're going to have you know, somebody you know listening
- 51:04Speaker 3: to that and saying, like, you know what I'm gonna
- 51:06Speaker 3: read between the lines on what that selfish wide out
- 51:09Speaker 3: Jeremiah is saying.
- 51:12Speaker 2: It's just such a nicer way.
- 51:14Speaker 3: It's just an easier way to say it is a
- 51:16Speaker 3: nicer way.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Yes, you know, hey, look, we got a young quarterback,
- 51:20Speaker 1: and I mean, I think I can help him. I
- 51:22Speaker 1: really think I can help him. You know, I believe
- 51:24Speaker 1: in him. But man, they got to give me some
- 51:26Speaker 1: chances to help him, you know. And then it's always
- 51:28Speaker 1: like you're not blaming the quarterback, you know. Yeah, workshop,
- 51:31Speaker 1: we workshopped it, right, Yeah we did.
- 51:33Speaker 3: We got there.
- 51:34Speaker 1: You go Monday night. We've got a gain Media Services. Yes,
- 51:38Speaker 1: that's our that's our little side business. My marketing company
- 51:41Speaker 1: of apparently is fledgling. According to Drew is uh the
- 51:44Speaker 1: bills Jets I have. I have maintained this is the
- 51:47Speaker 1: best it's the best shoes to step into for an
- 51:53Speaker 1: NFL head coach in NFL history. Literally, your first game,
- 51:57Speaker 1: if you win, you're in first place. You're in first place.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Your first game as a head coach. You will be
- 52:04Speaker 1: lauded as taking them from basically the outhouse to the
- 52:08Speaker 1: penthouse like that. And it's one game at home against
- 52:11Speaker 1: a team who would buy reputation is up here. But
- 52:15Speaker 1: by actuality, how they are is really a little bit lower.
- 52:18Speaker 1: So you're gonna get credit for beating the historical Buffalo
- 52:21Speaker 1: Bills of the last five years versus what the Buffalo
- 52:25Speaker 1: Bills have actually been this year.
- 52:27Speaker 2: The stadium is going to be raucous.
- 52:30Speaker 1: I mean, it's a Obrick is in a great situation
- 52:33Speaker 1: to come in there and uh and get himself a
- 52:36Speaker 1: win and really kind of take ownership of the entire franchise, the.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Emotional lift that they're gonna get. You know, they've been
- 52:43Speaker 3: playing in front of the home crowd. I mean like yeah,
- 52:44Speaker 3: I mean, I remember my dad was with the Saints,
- 52:47Speaker 3: you know, Jim Mora and the Saints go and Mora's
- 52:51Speaker 3: last year zero and five to start, he resigns. Rick
- 52:54Speaker 3: Venturi comes in to be the interim head coach and
- 52:56Speaker 3: you're like, well, and he's talking about we burn the ships.
- 53:00Speaker 3: You know, we gotta get you. It's it's time in it.
- 53:02Speaker 3: And you're like, coach, We're shoot, you know, pass by
- 53:06Speaker 3: pretty quick here, you know what I mean? But yeah,
- 53:08Speaker 3: you gotta fight for first place in the AFC East.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Not exactly the most juggerna GA visions one game and
- 53:15Speaker 3: you're sitting pretty at the top now you got to
- 53:17Speaker 3: stay there. You gotta find a way to stay there
- 53:18Speaker 3: and find some consistency. Does the play color thing matter
- 53:21Speaker 3: to you that much?
- 53:22Speaker 2: I don't.
- 53:22Speaker 3: I don't know that.
- 53:23Speaker 2: I know one thing.
- 53:24Speaker 1: TD todd down is going to have that play into
- 53:26Speaker 1: Aaron's headset so fast he's now even to know what
- 53:28Speaker 1: to do with it. Man, that barely when they turn
- 53:30Speaker 1: on the system, he's ever going to have half the
- 53:32Speaker 1: play call out of his mouth so he doesn't have
- 53:34Speaker 1: to worry about Aeron on National TV looking over the
- 53:36Speaker 1: side this gesture. So I'm anxious to see it. I'm
- 53:41Speaker 1: akexious to see what it looks like. Again, it's all
- 53:44Speaker 1: right there for the Jets and Buffalo. Buffalo's beat the
- 53:47Speaker 1: bad teams lost to the good teams. So this Jets team,
- 53:50Speaker 1: I would say, is probably somewhere in the middle right now.
- 53:52Speaker 1: So we'll see what Buffalo looks like. But I don't
- 53:55Speaker 1: think they're you know, they have it all rolling like
- 53:58Speaker 1: we had seen in the past with them, So big
- 54:00Speaker 1: opportunity for the Jets tonight. Anything else you want to
- 54:02Speaker 1: before we jump out of here.
- 54:04Speaker 2: No Hoosiers, Allie, so sick of hearing about the Hoosiers.
- 54:07Speaker 1: The padres are out. I hate baseball. Enjoy Monday night football. Everybody,
- 54:11Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. Right here, I'm moving stick
