- 0:47Speaker 1: about what makes it so special and what makes it
- 0:49Speaker 1: so unique? You bet so.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Twenty twenty five, this is going to be our forty
- 0:54Speaker 2: fourth fair and we are proud to host the largest
- 0:58Speaker 2: three day horse fair and really, you know, Madison, Wisconsin
- 1:02Speaker 2: becomes the epicenter for the equine community for the weekend
- 1:06Speaker 2: and so we you know, a host over this year,
- 1:09Speaker 2: we'll have about eight hundred horses at the fair, and
- 1:13Speaker 2: we'll have over thirty seven different breeds and disciplines we have.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Last year we launched a new initiative to host rare
- 1:20Speaker 2: and critical breeds, So we're going to have some breeds
- 1:23Speaker 2: that there's only five hundred of them around the world.
- 1:27Speaker 2: And so you know, it's about sixty thousand folks join
- 1:30Speaker 2: us across the weekend and there's tons to talk about.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I'm sure we're going to get into that.
- 1:36Speaker 1: We are for sure, and as we as we talked
- 1:38Speaker 1: this morning with Terry, we'll cover a lot, but doesn't
- 1:41Speaker 1: mean we're going to cover close to everything. And that's
- 1:43Speaker 1: why it's so important to head on over to the
- 1:44Speaker 1: website Midwest Horsefair dot com. That's Midwest Horsefair dot com.
- 1:50Speaker 1: You can get tickets online. You can learn more about
- 1:52Speaker 1: the event as well. Again that website Midwest Horsefair dot com.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And again that's gonna be running the eleventh through the
- 1:58Speaker 1: thirteenth at the Alliance and Center right here in Madison.
- 2:01Speaker 1: You can buy tickets online. Obviously, the the the horses
- 2:06Speaker 1: are the stars of the weekend and for folks that
- 2:09Speaker 1: that maybe they have horses or are or are hoping
- 2:14Speaker 1: to have a horse someday. There's really cool as well.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I know there's shopping opportunities for folks that want the gear,
- 2:21Speaker 1: want to want to have those those really neat things.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You guys actually have a whole area, I should say,
- 2:26Speaker 1: areas areas devoted just to that, don't you.
- 2:30Speaker 2: You're right so, and I would say people who have horses,
- 2:33Speaker 2: people who maybe want to have horses there, people who
- 2:35Speaker 2: just love horses, you know, they can come to our
- 2:38Speaker 2: fair and really get to experience the special bond between
- 2:42Speaker 2: horse and rider and just the special animal that the
- 2:45Speaker 2: horse is. But you are right. So we have almost
- 2:47Speaker 2: four hundred exhibitors who provide everything for horse and rider
- 2:51Speaker 2: from head to toe, and so the shopping is amazing,
- 2:54Speaker 2: and we also have really wonderful food vendors, so there's
- 2:57Speaker 2: great things to eat, and you know, it's jampacked. Folks
- 3:01Speaker 2: really probably need to come all three days to experience
- 3:04Speaker 2: all that we've got going on.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It should be, it should be fine. And I know
- 3:07Speaker 1: you always bring some some specially get touched on some
- 3:11Speaker 1: of them. I know there's always some special shows as well.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Tell us about this, uh this, uh uh. I know
- 3:18Speaker 1: that there's an appy black apple Lousa that you guys
- 3:21Speaker 1: have featured this year. Let's can we talk a little
- 3:23Speaker 1: bit about some of those some of those horses and
- 3:25Speaker 1: some of the other things that you're that you you're
- 3:26Speaker 1: going to see this year at the at the horse Fair.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Sure. So some of those the rare breeds that we have.
- 3:32Speaker 2: One of them is ak Caltechi. They kind of have
- 3:35Speaker 2: they're known for their kind of golden shimmery coat and
- 3:39Speaker 2: so really amazing to see them in person. We also
- 3:43Speaker 2: are going to have Dale's Ponies. There's less than five
- 3:46Speaker 2: hundred of them in the world. They're native to Great Britain.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And then we have the Dakota, who's also a critical
- 3:54Speaker 2: breed and their ancestors kind of ran wild in the
- 3:56Speaker 2: Missouri bad Lands. In addition to all the other amazing
- 3:59Speaker 2: beautiful breeds of horses and stallions.
- 4:02Speaker 1: That we'll have, and I know, Friday and Saturday night
- 4:05Speaker 1: a huge highlight for a lot of folks is the rodeo.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And this year you guys will have the bulls, the
- 4:11Speaker 1: bronx and the barrels as well, won't you.
- 4:14Speaker 2: We are we are privileged to host the largest attended
- 4:17Speaker 2: PRCA rodeo in Wisconsin. So we have the seven standard events.
- 4:21Speaker 2: The Rodeo will kick off at actually at seven forty
- 4:25Speaker 2: five this year because we're starting our evening shows with
- 4:29Speaker 2: an International Liberty Horse Association competition, So we've got ten
- 4:34Speaker 2: competitors coming from across the country who will be demonstrating
- 4:37Speaker 2: liberty set to music and performing and so that's a
- 4:41Speaker 2: special that's going to be starting at six forty five
- 4:44Speaker 2: pm this year, So our evening shows are starting a
- 4:47Speaker 2: little earlier, but we've kind of got this special act
- 4:49Speaker 2: one that folks will get to enjoy.
- 4:51Speaker 1: What is Stallion Avenue.
- 4:54Speaker 2: So Stallion Avenue is a part of our fair where
- 4:57Speaker 2: stallion owners bring their stagns. So I think we we
- 5:00Speaker 2: have over thirty almost thirty five different stallions that folks
- 5:03Speaker 2: will get a chance to meet and learn more about,
- 5:06Speaker 2: and so they demonstrate throughout the weekend and it's really
- 5:11Speaker 2: a great feature at the fair. In addition, in that area,
- 5:13Speaker 2: we happen to have a special drawing that goes on
- 5:16Speaker 2: throughout the weekend, so it's folks all. A lot of
- 5:19Speaker 2: our exhibitors give special baskets and different types of things,
- 5:23Speaker 2: so that's kind of just a fun area of the
- 5:25Speaker 2: fair to go and get a chance to win something to.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Talking this morning with Terry from the Midwest horse Fair.
- 5:31Speaker 1: The website Midwest Horsefair dot com. That's Midwest Horsefair dot
- 5:35Speaker 1: com all one word. You can buy tickets online. You
- 5:37Speaker 1: can buy the three pack of tickets as well, so
- 5:39Speaker 1: you can get out for the entire weekend. They've also
- 5:41Speaker 1: got great tools for trip planning and other things for
- 5:45Speaker 1: the event. And let's talk about kind of the logistics
- 5:48Speaker 1: of this all. Terry, I know you work very hard.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You and your team work very hard year round to
- 5:54Speaker 1: put this event together. Let's talk about a Lin Energy Center.
- 5:58Speaker 1: The grounds that you guys have there a really good
- 6:02Speaker 1: venue for what you guys do, isn't.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It it is? The Alliant Energy Center is really perfect
- 6:07Speaker 2: for our event. And you know, there's got a lot
- 6:10Speaker 2: of parking. We still encourage folks to get their early
- 6:12Speaker 2: parkings included in our admission tickets, so I want to
- 6:16Speaker 2: get there early each day. But then you know, they've
- 6:19Speaker 2: got two amazing barns. I think we'll have over seven
- 6:22Speaker 2: hundred and fifty stalls in their barns with them. We
- 6:24Speaker 2: have four arenas, and then we have the Coliseum, which
- 6:27Speaker 2: is a special venue that's where we host our rodeos
- 6:31Speaker 2: and also lots of our different clinics and demonstrations that
- 6:35Speaker 2: happen all throughout the weekend.
- 6:36Speaker 1: For folks that are looking to get tax You got
- 6:38Speaker 1: you got a tax shop out there.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Well, we've got a lot of tax sellers on this
- 6:43Speaker 2: so we also we get to host the four h
- 6:46Speaker 2: Tax Sale, which is very popular and it's their largest
- 6:50Speaker 2: fund rage fundraiser of the year, and so we host
- 6:53Speaker 2: that at the fair. We have several different tax sellers.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Teer's Tax a favorite of folks. They have a large
- 7:00Speaker 2: up at the fair, so tons tons of that opportunity.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Talking this morning with Terry Gmetti, she is with the
- 7:05Speaker 1: Midwest Horsefair online Midwest Horsefair dot com. That's Midwest Horsefair
- 7:10Speaker 1: dot com three days of course April eleventh, twelfth, and
- 7:13Speaker 1: thirteenth at the Alliance Energy Center. Website's got a ton
- 7:16Speaker 1: of great information. As mentioned, we're probably not going to
- 7:18Speaker 1: have time to talk about all the different things going on.

- 7:23Speaker 1: been to the Midwest Horse Fair, it's a great year

- 7:41Speaker 1: already or something we haven't had a chance to talk about,
- 7:43Speaker 1: something that you're really looking forward to this for this
- 7:46Speaker 1: event this year.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks for asking, because we actually we have a
- 7:49Speaker 2: very special famous equestrian who is planning to visit the
- 7:54Speaker 2: horse Fair this year. Her name is Amber Marshall. Folks
- 7:57Speaker 2: may also know her as Amy Fleming on the eighteen
- 8:00Speaker 2: year TV series Heartland, so she is a native to Canada.
- 8:05Speaker 2: She'll be joining us during the day at the fair
- 8:07Speaker 2: and then our evening shows. And she's also going to
- 8:10Speaker 2: be joined by a special equestrian, a famous in the
- 8:14Speaker 2: equestrian world, Dan James, who's her real world trainer on Heartland,
- 8:19Speaker 2: and he's bringing five of his Heartland famous horses, so
- 8:23Speaker 2: folks will get a chance to see them do a
- 8:25Speaker 2: demonstration during the day on Saturday and Sunday. But we're
- 8:29Speaker 2: super excited to have her join us in Wisconsin and
- 8:32Speaker 2: the United States, and folks have been very excited for
- 8:37Speaker 2: the chance to see her in person.
