  Hi,
• 0:35
  Andy
• 0:35

• 0:36
  here.
• 0:36
  Now,
• 0:37
  just
• 0:37
  a
• 0:37
  little
• 0:37
  bit
• 0:37
  of
• 0:38

• 0:41
  It's
• 0:42
  a
• 0:42
  chat
• 0:42
  that
• 0:42
  we
• 0:42
  had
• 0:43
  with
• 0:43
  the
• 0:43
  brilliant
• 0:43
  Chris
• 0:44
  Heatherly
• 0:45
  about
• 0:46
  Club
• 0:46
  Penguin
• 0:47
  and
• 0:48
  it
• 0:49
  was
• 0:49
  particularly
• 0:50
  packed
• 0:50
  with
• 0:51
  insight
• 0:52
  and
• 0:52
  detail
• 0:53
  and
• 0:53
  lasted
• 0:54
  a
• 0:54
  little
• 0:54
  bit
• 0:54
  longer
• 0:55
  than
• 0:55
  our

• 0:57
  So
• 0:57
  we've
• 0:57
  decided
• 0:58
  to
• 0:58
  split
• 0:58
  this
• 0:58
  into
• 0:59
  two.
• 0:59
  Two

  is

  part

  one
• 1:02
  of
• 1:02
  the
• 1:02
  conversation
• 1:03
  and
• 1:04
  then
• 1:04
  we'll
• 1:04
  be
• 1:05
  following
• 1:05
  up
• 1:05
  on
• 1:06
  this
• 1:06

• 1:09

• 1:09
  two.
• 1:16
  Well,
• 1:16
  hello
• 1:16
  and
• 1:17
  welcome
• 1:17

  I'm
• 1:20
  Andy
• 1:20
  Williams.
• 1:21
  I'm
• 1:21
  Joe
• 1:22
  Redfern.
• 1:22
  And
• 1:22
  Emily,
• 1:23
  we
• 1:23
  have
• 1:23
  a
• 1:23
  guest
• 1:23
  today.
• 1:24
  Please
• 1:24
  introduce
• 1:25
  our
• 1:25
  guest.
• 1:26
  Yeah,
• 1:26
  we
• 1:27
  have
• 1:27
  a
• 1:27
  guest,
• 1:27
  Chris
• 1:28
  Heatherly,
• 1:28
  another
• 1:29
  Disney
• 1:29
  alumni
• 1:30
  like
• 1:30
  me,
• 1:31
  who
• 1:31
  is
• 1:31
  going
• 1:32
  to
• 1:32
  get
• 1:32
  into
• 1:32
  a
• 1:32
  topic
• 1:33
  that
• 1:33
  came
• 1:33
  up
• 1:34
  actually
• 1:34
  originally
• 1:34
  on
• 1:35
  this
• 1:35
  podcast
• 1:35
  a
• 1:35
  few
• 1:35
  weeks
• 1:36
  ago,
• 1:36
  Club
• 1:36
  Penguin,
• 1:37
  when
• 1:37
  I
• 1:37
  just
• 1:38
  then
• 1:38
  spiraled
• 1:39
  into
• 1:39
  a
• 1:39
  massive
• 1:39
  Club
• 1:40
  Penguin
• 1:40
  hole.
• 1:40
  But
• 1:40
  Chris
• 1:41
  was
• 1:41
  there
• 1:41
  for
• 1:41
  the
• 1:41
  whole
• 1:41
  thing
• 1:42
  and
• 1:42
  he's
• 1:43
  done
• 1:43
  lots
• 1:43
  more
• 1:43
  since.
• 1:44
  So
• 1:44
  you're
• 1:44
  very
• 1:44
  welcome.
• 1:45
  Chris,
• 1:45
  would
• 1:46
  you
• 1:46
  mind
• 1:46
  introducing
• 1:46
  yourself?
• 1:47
  Yeah.
• 1:48
  So
• 1:48
  I'm
• 1:48
  Chris
• 1:48
  Heatherly.
• 1:49
  Thank
• 1:49
  you
• 1:49
  for
• 1:49
  having
• 1:49
  me
• 1:49
  on.
• 1:50
  I've
• 1:50
  been
• 1:50
  in
• 1:50
  games,
• 1:51
  media
• 1:51
  and
• 1:51
  Entertainment
• 1:52
  for
• 1:53
  over
• 1:53
  25
• 1:54
  years.
• 1:54
  I
• 1:55
  was
• 1:55
  at
• 1:55
  Disney
• 1:55
  for
• 1:55
  14.
• 1:56
  Half
• 1:56
  of
• 1:56
  that
• 1:57
  I
• 1:58
  ran
• 1:58
  their
• 1:59
  toy
• 1:59
  business,
• 2:00
  half
• 2:00
  of
• 2:01
  that
• 2:01
  I
• 2:02
  ran
• 2:03
  parts
• 2:03
  of
• 2:03
  their
• 2:03
  games
• 2:03
  business,
• 2:04
  including
• 2:04
  Club
• 2:04
  Penguin,
• 2:05
  where
• 2:05
  I
• 2:05
  was
• 2:05
  a
• 2:05
  general
• 2:06
  manager
• 2:06
  for
• 2:07
  probably
• 2:07
  about
• 2:07
  seven
• 2:08
  years
• 2:09
  in
• 2:09
  one
• 2:10
  form
• 2:10
  or
• 2:10
  another.
• 2:11
  And
• 2:12
  then
• 2:12
  I
• 2:12
  eventually,
• 2:13
  in
• 2:13
  addition
• 2:13
  to
• 2:13
  Penguin,
• 2:14
  took
• 2:14
  over
• 2:14
  their
• 2:14
  mobile
• 2:14
  gaming
• 2:15
  business
• 2:16
  and
• 2:17
  grew
• 2:17
  that.
• 2:19
  Then
• 2:19
  I
• 2:19
  was
• 2:19
  at
• 2:19
  Universal
• 2:20
  for
• 2:20
  about
• 2:20
  four
• 2:21
  years
• 2:21
  and
• 2:21
  built
• 2:22
  a
• 2:22
  games
• 2:22
  business
• 2:22
  for
• 2:22
  them.
• 2:24
  And
• 2:24
  then
• 2:24
  subsequent
• 2:25
  to
• 2:25
  that,
• 2:25
  I've
• 2:26
  worked
• 2:26
  in
• 2:27
  a
• 2:27
  variety
• 2:27
  of
• 2:30
  startups.
• 2:31
  My
• 2:32
  background
• 2:33
  really
• 2:33
  has
• 2:33
  always
• 2:33
  been
• 2:33
  in
• 2:34
  tech
• 2:34
  and
• 2:34
  innovation,
• 2:36
  so
• 2:36
  I
• 2:36
  tend
• 2:36
  to
• 2:36
  focus
• 2:37
  on
• 2:37
  skating,
• 2:38
  where
• 2:38
  the
• 2:38
  puck
• 2:38
  is
• 2:39
  going,
• 2:40
  which
• 2:41
  means
• 2:41
  you
• 2:41
  either
• 2:42
  are,
• 2:44
  which
• 2:44
  means
• 2:44
  often
• 2:45
  you're
• 2:45
  too
• 2:45
  early,
• 2:47
  which
• 2:48
  I've
• 2:48
  done
• 2:48
  a
• 2:49
  lot,
• 2:51
  but
• 2:51
  I've
• 2:51
  done
• 2:51
  a
• 2:51
  lot
• 2:51
  of
• 2:51
  things
• 2:51
  in
• 2:52
  gaming
• 2:52
  and
• 2:53
  media
• 2:55
  and
• 2:55
  definitely
• 2:56
  in
• 2:56
  the
• 2:56
  kids
• 2:57
  media
• 2:57
  space
• 2:57
  from
• 2:57
  my
• 2:58
  years
• 2:58
  at
• 2:58
  Disney
• 2:58
  and
• 2:59
  Club
• 2:59
  Penguin.
• 2:59
  So
• 2:59
  thanks
• 3:00
  for
• 3:00
  having
• 3:00
  me
• 3:00
  on.
• 3:01
  Yeah,
• 3:02
  it's
• 3:02
  so
• 3:02
  great
• 3:02
  to
• 3:02
  have
• 3:02
  you.
• 3:02
  And
• 3:03
  actually
• 3:03
  that
• 3:04
  whole
• 3:04
  concept
• 3:04
  of
• 3:05
  was
• 3:05
  it
• 3:06
  too
• 3:06
  early
• 3:06
  could
• 3:06
  nearly
• 3:07
  apply
• 3:07
  to
• 3:07
  Club
• 3:07
  Penguin.
• 3:08
  So
• 3:08
  I
• 3:08
  went
• 3:08
  down
• 3:08
  a
• 3:08
  massive
• 3:08
  Club
• 3:08
  Penguin
• 3:09
  hole
• 3:09
  recently.
• 3:10
  Obviously
• 3:10
  it
• 3:10
  was.
• 3:11
  He's
• 3:11
  not
• 3:12
  saying
• 3:12
  Club
• 3:12
  Penguin
• 3:12
  hole.
• 3:13
  It's
• 3:13
  giving
• 3:13
  me
• 3:13
  the.
• 3:14
  It's
• 3:14
  giving
• 3:14
  me.
• 3:18
  That's
• 3:18
  your.
• 3:18
  That's
• 3:19
  a
• 3:19
  you
• 3:19
  problem.
• 3:21
  I
• 3:21
  went
• 3:22
  down.
• 3:22
  Sorry.
• 3:23
  I
• 3:24
  looked
• 3:24
  into
• 3:24
  this
• 3:24
  in
• 3:25
  depth.
• 3:25
  Is
• 3:25
  that
• 3:25
  a
• 3:25
  better
• 3:26
  corporate
• 3:26
  way
• 3:26
  of
• 3:26
  putting
• 3:27
  it?
• 3:27
  Putting
• 3:27
  it
• 3:28
  recently?
• 3:31
  Club
• 3:31
  Penguin
• 3:32
  was
• 3:32
  a
• 3:32
  multiplayer
• 3:32
  game
• 3:33
  that
• 3:33
  Disney
• 3:34
  bought
• 3:34
  in
• 3:35
  the
• 3:35
  early
• 3:35
  2000s.
• 3:36
  I
• 3:36
  want
• 3:36
  to
• 3:36
  say
• 3:37
  it
• 3:37
  really
• 3:37
  had.
• 3:38
  It
• 3:39
  was
• 3:39
  adorable.
• 3:39
  You
• 3:40
  had
• 3:40
  your
• 3:40
  penguin
• 3:40
  avatar,
• 3:41
  you
• 3:41
  had
• 3:41
  your
• 3:41
  house.
• 3:42
  It
• 3:42
  was
• 3:42
  customizable.
• 3:44
  There
• 3:44
  were
• 3:44
  worlds
• 3:44
  that
• 3:44
  you
• 3:45
  could
• 3:45
  explore.
• 3:46
  It
• 3:46
  really
• 3:47
  had
• 3:47
  safety
• 3:47
  at
• 3:47
  the
• 3:48
  heart.
• 3:48
  I
• 3:48
  know
• 3:48
  at
• 3:48
  my
• 3:49
  time
• 3:49
  at
• 3:49
  Disney
• 3:49
  there
• 3:49
  was
• 3:50
  the
• 3:50
  team
• 3:50
  down
• 3:50
  in
• 3:50
  Brighton,
• 3:51
  the
• 3:51
  moderation
• 3:52
  team
• 3:52
  and
• 3:52
  stuff
• 3:52
  like
• 3:52
  that.
• 3:53
  So
• 3:53
  it
• 3:53
  really
• 3:53
  had
• 3:54
  safety
• 3:54
  at
• 3:54
  the
• 3:54
  core.
• 3:55
  And
• 3:56
  it
• 3:56
  came
• 3:56
  up
• 3:57
  in
• 3:57
  conversation
• 3:57
  that
• 3:57
  we
• 3:57
  were
• 3:57
  having
• 3:58
  a
• 3:58
  few
• 3:58
  weeks
• 3:58
  ago
• 3:59
  and
• 3:59
  I
• 4:00
  was
• 4:00
  looking
• 4:00
  into
• 4:00
  it
• 4:00
  and
• 4:01
  we
• 4:01
  were
• 4:01
  talking
• 4:01
  about
• 4:01
  it
• 4:02
  and
• 4:04
  looking
• 4:04
  back,
• 4:05
  it
• 4:05
  could
• 4:06
  have
• 4:06
  been
• 4:06
  Roblox
• 4:06
  before
• 4:06
  Roblox
• 4:07
  was
• 4:07
  Roblox
• 4:07
  to
• 4:08
  a
• 4:08
  certain
• 4:08
  extent
• 4:08
  or
• 4:08
  it
• 4:09
  could
• 4:09
  have
• 4:09
  been
• 4:09
  Minecraft
• 4:09
  before
• 4:09
  Minecraft.
• 4:10
  It
• 4:10
  wasn't
• 4:10
  Minecraft.
• 4:11
  So,
• 4:12
  you
• 4:12
  know,
• 4:13
  tell
• 4:13
  us
• 4:13
  a
• 4:13
  bit
• 4:13
  about
• 4:13
  those
• 4:14
  days,
• 4:14
  Chris.
• 4:15
  Like
• 4:15
  what
• 4:15
  happened
• 4:16
  and
• 4:16
  what
• 4:17
  went
• 4:17
  down.
• 4:19
  Well,
• 4:20
  there's
• 4:21
  a
• 4:21
  lot
• 4:21
  packed
• 4:21
  into
• 4:21
  that.
• 4:23
  Well,
• 4:23
  I
• 4:23
  was
• 4:23
  one
• 4:24
  of
• 4:24
  the
• 4:24
  first
• 4:24
  people
• 4:24
  that
• 4:27
  I
• 4:27
  got
• 4:27
  involved
• 4:28
  with
• 4:28
  Club
• 4:28
  Penguin
• 4:28
  when
• 4:29
  I
• 4:29
  was
• 4:29
  running
• 4:30
  the
• 4:30
  toy
• 4:30
  business
• 4:30
  and
• 4:31
  had
• 4:31
  been
• 4:31
  pushing
• 4:32
  us
• 4:32
  to
• 4:32
  do
• 4:32
  toys
• 4:32
  that
• 4:33
  were
• 4:34
  based
• 4:34
  on
• 4:34
  games
• 4:34
  or
• 4:35
  interactive,
• 4:35
  had
• 4:36
  some
• 4:36
  games
• 4:36
  component.
• 4:37
  Webkinz
• 4:37
  is
• 4:37
  really
• 4:38
  big
• 4:38
  to
• 4:38
  time.
• 4:39
  And
• 4:40
  we
• 4:40
  made
• 4:41
  a
• 4:41
  play
• 4:41
  for
• 4:42
  Club
• 4:42
  Penguin
• 4:43
  and
• 4:44
  I
• 4:44
  met.
• 4:45
  I
• 4:45
  was
• 4:46
  one
• 4:46
  of
• 4:46
  the
• 4:46
  first
• 4:46
  people
• 4:46
  to
• 4:47
  go
• 4:47
  up
• 4:47
  to
• 4:47
  Kelowna
• 4:48
  Canada
• 4:48
  after
• 4:49
  we
• 4:49
  bought
• 4:49
  it
• 4:50
  and
• 4:50
  just
• 4:50
  really
• 4:51
  hit
• 4:51
  it
• 4:51
  off
• 4:51
  with
• 4:51
  this
• 4:52
  with
• 4:52
  the
• 4:52
  CEO
• 4:53
  at
• 4:53
  the
• 4:53
  time,
• 4:53
  like
• 4:53
  Mary
• 4:54
  Field.
• 4:54
  He's
• 4:54
  still
• 4:55
  one
• 4:55
  of
• 4:55
  my
• 4:55
  best
• 4:55
  friends.
• 4:55
  I
• 4:56
  had
• 4:56
  a
• 4:56
  dinner
• 4:57
  with
• 4:57
  him
• 4:57
  just
• 4:57
  the
• 4:57
  other
• 4:57
  week.
• 4:58
  So
• 4:59
  I
• 4:59
  see
• 4:59
  him,
• 4:59
  you
• 4:59
  know,
• 5:00
  all
• 5:00
  the
• 5:00
  time
• 5:00
  still.
• 5:02
  And
• 5:02
  you
• 5:03
  know,
• 5:03
  I
• 5:04
  started.
• 5:04
  I
• 5:04
  did
• 5:04
  the
• 5:05
  Club
• 5:05
  Penguin
• 5:05
  toy
• 5:06
  line
• 5:06
  to
• 5:06
  start
• 5:08
  and
• 5:09
  we
• 5:09
  did
• 5:09
  a
• 5:10
  lot
• 5:10
  of
• 5:10
  innovative
• 5:11
  things
• 5:12
  including
• 5:12
  putting
• 5:13
  codes
• 5:13
  on
• 5:13
  toys,
• 5:15
  which
• 5:15
  wasn't
• 5:15
  really
• 5:15
  being
• 5:16
  done
• 5:16
  a
• 5:16
  lot
• 5:16
  at
• 5:16
  that
• 5:16
  time.
• 5:17
  Webkinz
• 5:18
  was
• 5:18
  sort
• 5:18
  of
• 5:18
  doing
• 5:19
  it,
• 5:19
  but
• 5:21
  we
• 5:22
  did
• 5:22
  it
• 5:22
  more
• 5:23
  at
• 5:23
  an
• 5:23
  economy
• 5:23
  level
• 5:24
  where
• 5:26
  you
• 5:26
  would
• 5:26
  buy
• 5:26
  a
• 5:27
  toy
• 5:27
  and
• 5:27
  be
• 5:27
  able
• 5:27
  to
• 5:27
  unlock
• 5:28
  that
• 5:28
  costume
• 5:28
  in
• 5:28
  the
• 5:29
  game.
• 5:29
  And
• 5:29
  it
• 5:29
  was
• 5:29
  pretty
• 5:29
  innovative
• 5:30
  for
• 5:30
  the
• 5:30
  time.
• 5:31
  And
• 5:32
  we
• 5:32
  built
• 5:32
  a
• 5:32
  game
• 5:32
  called
• 5:33
  Card
• 5:33
  Jitsu
• 5:34
  that
• 5:34
  was
• 5:34
  very
• 5:34
  successful
• 5:35
  with
• 5:35
  Topps,
• 5:36
  that
• 5:36
  was
• 5:37
  trading
• 5:37
  card
• 5:37
  game
• 5:37
  that
• 5:38
  for
• 5:38
  a
• 5:38
  period
• 5:38
  of
• 5:38
  time
• 5:38
  was
• 5:39
  outselling
• 5:40
  Pokemon
• 5:41
  at.
• 5:42
  At
• 5:42
  Toys
• 5:43
  R
• 5:43
  Us.
• 5:43
  Admittedly
• 5:44
  at
• 5:44
  that
• 5:44
  time,
• 5:45
  Pokemon
• 5:45
  was
• 5:46
  kind
• 5:46
  of
• 5:46
  on
• 5:46
  a
• 5:46
  low
• 5:46
  eb
• 5:47
  and
• 5:47
  you
• 5:47
  know,
• 5:48
  and.
• 5:48
  And
• 5:48
  we
• 5:49
  did.
• 5:49
  And
• 5:51
  Pokemon
• 5:51
  Go.
• 5:51
  Hadn't
• 5:52
  happened
• 5:52
  yet,
• 5:52
  but
• 5:52
  we
• 5:52
  were
• 5:53
  outselling
• 5:53
  them
• 5:53
  for
• 5:53
  about,
• 5:54
  you
• 5:54
  know,
• 5:54
  nine
• 5:55
  months,
• 5:55
  maybe
• 5:55
  a
• 5:55
  year.
• 5:58
  So
• 5:58
  we
• 5:58
  had
• 5:58
  a
• 5:58
  lot
• 5:58
  of
• 5:59
  success
• 6:00
  early
• 6:01
  on.
• 6:03
  And
• 6:03
  then
• 6:03
  I.
• 6:04
  From
• 6:04
  the
• 6:05
  toy
• 6:05
  side,
• 6:06
  you
• 6:06
  know,
• 6:06
  the
• 6:06
  founders
• 6:07
  had
• 6:07
  made
• 6:08
  quite
• 6:08
  a
• 6:08
  bit
• 6:08
  of
• 6:08
  money
• 6:09
  and
• 6:09
  sort
• 6:09
  of
• 6:10
  had.
• 6:10
  Some
• 6:10
  of
• 6:10
  them
• 6:10
  had
• 6:11
  started
• 6:11
  moving
• 6:11
  on
• 6:11
  and
• 6:12
  Lane
• 6:12
  was
• 6:12
  sort
• 6:13
  of
• 6:13
  had
• 6:14
  the
• 6:14
  notion
• 6:14
  that
• 6:15
  he
• 6:15
  was
• 6:15
  taking
• 6:15
  on
• 6:16
  more
• 6:16
  stuff
• 6:16
  and
• 6:17
  you
• 6:17
  know,
• 6:18
  but
• 6:18
  eventually
• 6:18
  probably
• 6:19
  was
• 6:19
  gonna,
• 6:19
  was
• 6:20
  gonna
• 6:20
  leave
• 6:20
  Disney
• 6:20
  and
• 6:21
  do
• 6:21
  his
• 6:21
  own
• 6:21
  thing.
• 6:21
  And
• 6:22
  so
• 6:22
  he
• 6:22
  wanted
• 6:22
  to
• 6:22
  be
• 6:22
  able
• 6:23
  to
• 6:23
  pass
• 6:23
  his
• 6:24
  baby
• 6:24
  off
• 6:24
  to
• 6:24
  somebody
• 6:25
  that
• 6:25
  he
• 6:25
  trusted.
• 6:26
  And
• 6:26
  I
• 6:26
  guess
• 6:26
  he
• 6:26
  trusted
• 6:27
  me
• 6:27
  and,
• 6:29
  and
• 6:30
  you
• 6:30
  know,
• 6:30
  so
• 6:30
  I
• 6:31
  wound
• 6:31
  up
• 6:31
  running
• 6:31
  Club
• 6:31
  Penguin.
• 6:32
  I
• 6:32
  actually
• 6:32
  ran
• 6:32
  it
• 6:33
  probably
• 6:34
  longer
• 6:34
  than
• 6:34
  the
• 6:34
  founders
• 6:35
  by
• 6:35
  about
• 6:36
  a
• 6:36
  year,
• 6:38
  but.
• 6:38
  But
• 6:39
  so
• 6:39
  I.
• 6:40
  Sorry
• 6:40
  to
• 6:40
  interrupt.
• 6:40
  Chris,
• 6:41
  when
• 6:41
  was
• 6:41
  that?
• 6:41
  When
• 6:41
  did
• 6:42
  you
• 6:42
  take
• 6:42
  over?
• 6:42
  Then
• 6:43
  I
• 6:43
  took
• 6:43
  over.
• 6:44
  I
• 6:44
  started
• 6:44
  getting
• 6:45
  involved
• 6:45
  with
• 6:45
  it
• 6:46
  on
• 6:46
  the
• 6:46
  development
• 6:46
  side
• 6:47
  in
• 6:47
  like
• 6:47
  2011.
• 6:49
  So
• 6:49
  I
• 6:49
  think
• 6:50
  was
• 6:51
  created
• 6:51
  in
• 6:52
  like
• 6:52
  2006,
• 6:53
  2008,
• 6:54
  I
• 6:54
  think
• 6:54
  we
• 6:55
  bought
• 6:55
  it
• 6:56
  in
• 6:56
  2008
• 6:57
  or
• 6:57
  2009,
• 6:58
  something
• 6:58
  like
• 6:58
  that.
• 6:59
  And
• 6:59
  then
• 6:59
  I
• 6:59
  got
• 6:59
  involved
• 7:00
  in
• 7:00
  2011,
• 7:01
  so.
• 7:02
  And
• 7:03
  it
• 7:03
  lasted
• 7:04
  until
• 7:04
  I
• 7:04
  think
• 7:05
  Disney
• 7:05
  shut
• 7:05
  it
• 7:05
  down
• 7:06
  in
• 7:06
  like
• 7:06
  2017
• 7:07
  or
• 7:07
  something
• 7:07
  like
• 7:08
  that.
• 7:09
  And
• 7:09
  I
• 7:10
  left.
• 7:10
  It's
• 7:11
  actually
• 7:11
  one
• 7:11
  of
• 7:11
  the
• 7:11
  reasons
• 7:12
  I
• 7:12
  left
• 7:12
  is
• 7:13
  because
• 7:14
  I
• 7:14
  just,
• 7:14
  I
• 7:14
  refused
• 7:15
  to
• 7:15
  shut
• 7:15
  it
• 7:15
  down.
• 7:16
  And
• 7:17
  you
• 7:17
  know,
• 7:18
  I,
• 7:19
  the,
• 7:20
  you
• 7:20
  know,
• 7:20
  we
• 7:20
  could
• 7:20
  get
• 7:21
  into
• 7:21
  all
• 7:21
  of
• 7:21
  that.
• 7:21
  I
• 7:22
  mean,
• 7:22
  you
• 7:22
  know,
• 7:22
  I
• 7:22
  just
• 7:22
  think
• 7:23
  that
• 7:25
  for
• 7:25
  a
• 7:25
  lot
• 7:26
  of
• 7:26
  reasons
• 7:26
  that
• 7:26
  I
• 7:26
  could
• 7:27
  go
• 7:27
  into
• 7:28
  and
• 7:28
  probably
• 7:29
  write
• 7:29
  a
• 7:29
  book
• 7:29
  about
• 7:30
  like,
• 7:30
  you
• 7:30
  know,
• 7:30
  Disney
• 7:31
  was
• 7:31
  just
• 7:31
  extremely
• 7:32
  short
• 7:32
  sighted
• 7:34
  about
• 7:35
  gaming
• 7:36
  and,
• 7:37
  and
• 7:37
  you
• 7:38
  know,
• 7:38
  had
• 7:38
  made,
• 7:39
  I
• 7:39
  think
• 7:39
  trusted
• 7:39
  the
• 7:40
  wrong
• 7:40
  people
• 7:40
  and
• 7:40
  invested
• 7:42
  a
• 7:42
  lot
• 7:43
  of
• 7:43
  money
• 7:43
  poorly
• 7:44
  and
• 7:45
  you
• 7:45
  know,
• 7:46
  kind
• 7:46
  of
• 7:46
  bet
• 7:46
  on
• 7:47
  even
• 7:47
  projects
• 7:47
  like
• 7:48
  Disney
• 7:48
  Infinity
• 7:49
  that
• 7:51
  you
• 7:51
  know,
• 7:51
  were
• 7:52
  cool
• 7:53
  but
• 7:55
  didn't
• 7:55
  really
• 7:56
  have
• 7:56
  the
• 7:56
  depth
• 7:56
  that
• 7:57
  you
• 7:57
  would
• 7:57
  think
• 7:57
  that
• 7:58
  they
• 7:58
  would
• 7:58
  have.
• 8:00
  And
• 8:00
  they
• 8:01
  just
• 8:01
  massively
• 8:01
  overspent
• 8:02
  on
• 8:02
  it.
• 8:02
  And
• 8:02
  so
• 8:02
  it
• 8:03
  just
• 8:03
  seemed
• 8:03
  like
• 8:03
  everything
• 8:03
  that
• 8:04
  Disney
• 8:04
  did
• 8:04
  in
• 8:04
  gaming
• 8:05
  sort
• 8:06
  of
• 8:06
  went
• 8:06
  sideways
• 8:06
  at
• 8:07
  some
• 8:07
  point.
• 8:07
  And
• 8:08
  you
• 8:08
  know,
• 8:09
  our
• 8:09
  business,
• 8:10
  the
• 8:10
  business
• 8:10
  that
• 8:10
  I
• 8:10
  was
• 8:11
  running,
• 8:11
  you
• 8:12
  know,
• 8:13
  got
• 8:13
  better
• 8:13
  and
• 8:13
  better
• 8:14
  and
• 8:14
  we
• 8:14
  were
• 8:14
  able
• 8:14
  to
• 8:14
  do
• 8:15
  a
• 8:15
  big
• 8:15
  turnaround
• 8:16
  on
• 8:16
  it.
• 8:16
  But
• 8:16
  by
• 8:16
  the
• 8:17
  time
• 8:17
  that
• 8:17
  we,
• 8:18
  we
• 8:18
  did
• 8:18
  that,
• 8:18
  there
• 8:18
  just
• 8:19
  wasn't
• 8:20
  a
• 8:20
  lot
• 8:20
  of
• 8:22
  appetite
• 8:22
  for
• 8:23
  more
• 8:23
  gaming.
• 8:23
  And
• 8:23
  I
• 8:24
  think
• 8:24
  with
• 8:24
  Penguin,
• 8:25
  you
• 8:25
  know,
• 8:27
  we
• 8:27
  could
• 8:27
  kind
• 8:27
  of
• 8:27
  talk
• 8:28
  about
• 8:29
  sort
• 8:29
  of
• 8:29
  why
• 8:30
  it
• 8:30
  was
• 8:30
  ultimately
• 8:30
  shut
• 8:31
  down.
• 8:31
  But
• 8:32
  you
• 8:32
  know,
• 8:32
  a
• 8:32
  lot
• 8:32
  of
• 8:32
  it
• 8:32
  was
• 8:33
  just
• 8:33
  technology.
• 8:33
  It
• 8:34
  was,
• 8:34
  you
• 8:34
  know,
• 8:35
  there,
• 8:35
  there
• 8:35
  was
• 8:36
  a
• 8:36
  lot
• 8:36
  of
• 8:36
  corporate
• 8:36
  stuff
• 8:37
  that
• 8:37
  killed
• 8:37
  it
• 8:38
  and
• 8:39
  I
• 8:39
  think
• 8:39
  that
• 8:39
  was
• 8:39
  the
• 8:39
  biggest
• 8:40
  driver.
• 8:40
  You
• 8:41
  know,
• 8:41
  just
• 8:41
  kind
• 8:41
  of
• 8:41
  like
• 8:41
  short
• 8:42
  sighted
• 8:42
  corporate
• 8:43
  suity.
• 8:43
  People
• 8:44
  who
• 8:45
  didn't
• 8:45
  understand
• 8:45
  how
• 8:46
  special
• 8:46
  it
• 8:46
  was
• 8:48
  but,
• 8:49
  and
• 8:49
  how
• 8:49
  unique
• 8:49
  it
• 8:50
  was,
• 8:50
  but,
• 8:50
  but
• 8:51
  also,
• 8:53
  you
• 8:54
  know,
• 8:54
  just
• 8:55
  the
• 8:55
  phone.
• 8:56
  Right.
• 8:56
  Changing
• 8:57
  everything.
• 8:58
  We
• 8:58
  never
• 8:59
  kind
• 8:59
  of
• 8:59
  successfully
• 9:00
  we
• 9:01
  launched
• 9:01
  on
• 9:01
  mobile,
• 9:02
  but
• 9:02
  never
• 9:02
  recreated
• 9:03
  the
• 9:03
  success
• 9:03
  over
• 9:03
  there.
• 9:05
  You
• 9:05
  know,
• 9:06
  Steve
• 9:06
  Jobs
• 9:06
  killing
• 9:07
  Flash,
• 9:07
  like
• 9:08
  sort
• 9:08
  of
• 9:08
  all
• 9:08
  of
• 9:08
  those
• 9:09
  things.
• 9:11
  And
• 9:11
  Club
• 9:11
  Pigment
• 9:11
  was
• 9:11
  built
• 9:12
  by,
• 9:12
  you
• 9:12
  know,
• 9:13
  a
• 9:13
  bunch
• 9:13
  of
• 9:14
  like
• 9:15
  artists
• 9:15
  who
• 9:16
  could
• 9:16
  code,
• 9:16
  not
• 9:17
  engineers.
• 9:18
  So
• 9:19
  the
• 9:19
  tech
• 9:20
  was
• 9:20
  actually
• 9:21
  pretty
• 9:23
  broken
• 9:24
  and
• 9:24
  it
• 9:24
  just
• 9:25
  got
• 9:25
  worse
• 9:25
  over
• 9:26
  time
• 9:26
  and
• 9:27
  trying
• 9:27
  to
• 9:28
  run
• 9:28
  it
• 9:29
  and
• 9:29
  grow
• 9:29
  it
• 9:29
  and
• 9:30
  fix
• 9:30
  it
• 9:30
  and
• 9:30
  go
• 9:31
  to
• 9:31
  mobile
• 9:31
  and
• 9:31
  just
• 9:32
  all
• 9:32
  of
• 9:32
  that
• 9:32
  and
• 9:32
  then
• 9:33
  a
• 9:33
  bunch
• 9:33
  of
• 9:33
  other
• 9:33
  corporate
• 9:34
  stuff
• 9:34
  just
• 9:34
  sort
• 9:35
  of
• 9:35
  collapsed
• 9:35
  from
• 9:35
  its
• 9:36
  own
• 9:36
  weight.
• 9:37
  But
• 9:38
  yeah,
• 9:38
  because
• 9:38
  I
• 9:38
  feel
• 9:38
  like
• 9:39
  there
• 9:39
  was
• 9:39
  a
• 9:39
  door
• 9:39
  there
• 9:40
  that
• 9:40
  was,
• 9:40
  that
• 9:40
  was
• 9:40
  really
• 9:41
  special.
• 9:41
  Yeah.
• 9:42
  In
• 9:43
  2007,
• 9:44
  like,
• 9:44
  definitely
• 9:44
  in
• 9:45
  my
• 9:45
  era,
• 9:45
  it
• 9:45
  was
• 9:46
  really
• 9:46
  treated
• 9:47
  as
• 9:47
  like
• 9:48
  a
• 9:48
  marketing
• 9:48
  platform
• 9:49
  as
• 9:49
  opposed
• 9:49
  to
• 9:50
  like
• 9:50
  a
• 9:50
  platform
• 9:51
  within
• 9:51
  itself.
• 9:51
  There
• 9:51
  was
• 9:52
  things
• 9:52
  like
• 9:52
  the,
• 9:52
  the
• 9:53
  Star
• 9:53
  wars
• 9:53
  party.
• 9:54
  They
• 9:54
  were
• 9:54
  putting
• 9:54
  Marvel
• 9:55
  characters
• 9:55
  in
• 9:55
  there.
• 9:56
  But
• 9:56
  like
• 9:57
  at
• 9:57
  its
• 9:57
  peak
• 9:57
  in
• 9:57
  2013,
• 9:58
  it
• 9:58
  had
• 9:59
  200
• 9:59
  million
• 10:00
  registered
• 10:00
  avatars,
• 10:01
  I
• 10:01
  think.
• 10:01
  Right.
• 10:02
  Like
• 10:02
  that's
• 10:02
  like
• 10:02
  a
• 10:03
  big,
• 10:04
  that's
• 10:04
  like
• 10:04
  a,
• 10:04
  that's
• 10:04
  like.
• 10:04
  It
• 10:05
  was
• 10:05
  a
• 10:05
  huge
• 10:05
  commit.
• 10:05
  It
• 10:05
  was
• 10:06
  a
• 10:06
  huge
• 10:06
  online
• 10:06
  community.
• 10:08
  It
• 10:08
  was
• 10:08
  a
• 10:08
  huge
• 10:08
  online
• 10:09
  community.
• 10:09
  And
• 10:10
  you
• 10:10
  know,
• 10:11
  I
• 10:11
  mean,
• 10:11
  we
• 10:11
  were
• 10:11
  doing,
• 10:12
  you
• 10:13
  know,
• 10:13
  for
• 10:13
  a,
• 10:14
  you
• 10:14
  know,
• 10:15
  concurrency
• 10:15
  wise.
• 10:16
  I
• 10:16
  mean,
• 10:16
  you
• 10:16
  know,
• 10:17
  we
• 10:17
  were
• 10:17
  doing,
• 10:18
  you
• 10:19
  know,
• 10:19
  sometimes
• 10:20
  300,000
• 10:20
  concurrence,
• 10:21
  something
• 10:21
  like
• 10:22
  that.
• 10:22
  And
• 10:23
  you
• 10:23
  know,
• 10:23
  if
• 10:24
  you,
• 10:24
  if
• 10:25
  you
• 10:25
  look
• 10:25
  at
• 10:25
  like
• 10:25
  a
• 10:26
  game
• 10:26
  like
• 10:26
  Resident
• 10:27
  Evil
• 10:27
  or
• 10:27
  something
• 10:28
  like
• 10:28
  that's
• 10:29
  the
• 10:29
  kind
• 10:29
  of
• 10:29
  concurrency
• 10:30
  that's
• 10:30
  doing.
• 10:30
  So
• 10:31
  mean.
• 10:31
  The
• 10:31
  problem
• 10:31
  was
• 10:32
  that
• 10:32
  no
• 10:32
  one
• 10:32
  understood
• 10:33
  gaming
• 10:33
  in
• 10:34
  those
• 10:34
  terms
• 10:34
  at
• 10:34
  that
• 10:34
  time.
• 10:35
  Right?
• 10:35
  It
• 10:36
  was.
• 10:36
  Did
• 10:36
  that,
• 10:37
  did
• 10:37
  that.
• 10:37
  Did
• 10:37
  they
• 10:38
  also
• 10:38
  understand,
• 10:39
  do
• 10:39
  you
• 10:39
  think
• 10:39
  there
• 10:39
  was
• 10:40
  an
• 10:40
  issue
• 10:40
  with
• 10:41
  a
• 10:41
  corporate
• 10:42
  mindset
• 10:42
  not
• 10:42
  maybe
• 10:43
  understanding
• 10:43
  building
• 10:44
  community
• 10:44
  at
• 10:45
  that
• 10:45
  point
• 10:45
  and
• 10:46
  the
• 10:46
  value
• 10:46
  of
• 10:46
  community
• 10:47
  over
• 10:49
  profits?
• 10:49
  I
• 10:50
  had
• 10:50
  suits
• 10:50
  tell
• 10:51
  me,
• 10:51
  what's
• 10:51
  the
• 10:52
  value
• 10:52
  of
• 10:52
  community.
• 10:53
  Right?
• 10:54
  I
• 10:54
  mean,
• 10:54
  right.
• 10:57
  What's
• 10:57
  the
• 10:57
  value
• 10:57
  of
• 10:58
  community?
• 10:58
  What's
• 10:58
  the
• 10:58
  value
• 10:58
  of
• 10:59
  a
• 10:59
  network?
• 10:59
  Can
• 10:59
  you
• 11:00
  quantify
• 11:00
  it?
• 11:00
  Right.
• 11:01
  And
• 11:02
  yeah,
• 11:02
  I
• 11:02
  was
• 11:02
  like,
• 11:02
  well,
• 11:03
  I
• 11:03
  mean,
• 11:03
  look
• 11:04
  at
• 11:04
  the,
• 11:05
  you
• 11:05
  know,
• 11:05
  market
• 11:06
  cap
• 11:06
  of
• 11:07
  Facebook.
• 11:07
  Right?
• 11:08
  Like
• 11:08
  it's
• 11:08
  not,
• 11:09
  that's
• 11:09
  predicated
• 11:10
  on
• 11:10
  community.
• 11:11
  It's
• 11:11
  not
• 11:11
  predicated
• 11:12
  on,
• 11:12
  you
• 11:12
  know.
• 11:14
  Yeah,
• 11:15
  but
• 11:15
  you're
• 11:16
  talking
• 11:16
  about
• 11:16
  linear
• 11:17
  television
• 11:18
  and
• 11:18
  film
• 11:18
  executives
• 11:20
  and
• 11:20
  maybe
• 11:21
  not
• 11:21
  even
• 11:21
  that.
• 11:21
  Mostly
• 11:22
  people
• 11:22
  who
• 11:22
  like
• 11:23
  come
• 11:23
  from,
• 11:24
  you
• 11:24
  know,
• 11:24
  MBAs,
• 11:25
  who
• 11:25
  parachute
• 11:26
  into
• 11:26
  the
• 11:26
  strategy
• 11:27
  group
• 11:27
  at
• 11:27
  Disney
• 11:28
  and
• 11:29
  you
• 11:29
  know,
• 11:29
  never
• 11:30
  work
• 11:30
  in
• 11:30
  an
• 11:30
  opera
• 11:31
  as
• 11:32
  operators.
• 11:32
  And
• 11:32
  all
• 11:33
  they
• 11:33
  know
• 11:33
  how
• 11:33
  to
• 11:33
  do
• 11:33
  is
• 11:33
  look
• 11:33
  at
• 11:34
  spreadsheets.
• 11:34
  And
• 11:34
  so,
• 11:35
  you
• 11:35
  know,
• 11:35
  they're,
• 11:36
  and,
• 11:36
  and
• 11:36
  they
• 11:36
  were
• 11:37
  going
• 11:37
  to
• 11:37
  get
• 11:37
  promoted
• 11:38
  by,
• 11:38
  you
• 11:38
  know,
• 11:39
  cutting
• 11:39
  us
• 11:39
  to
• 11:39
  a
• 11:40
  million
• 11:40
  pieces,
• 11:40
  not,
• 11:41
  you
• 11:41
  know,
• 11:42
  helping
• 11:42
  us
• 11:42
  grow
• 11:43
  and
• 11:43
  be
• 11:43
  more
• 11:43
  successful.
• 11:43
  Yeah.
• 11:44
  Yeah,
• 11:45
  it's
• 11:45
  always
• 11:46
  easier
• 11:46
  to
• 11:46
  cut
• 11:47
  than
• 11:47
  it
• 11:47
  is
• 11:47
  to
• 11:48
  grow.
• 11:48
  Right.
• 11:48
  And
• 11:49
  so,
• 11:50
  yeah,
• 11:50
  without
• 11:50
  vision
• 11:51
  or
• 11:51
  talent
• 11:51
  will
• 11:52
  always.
• 11:53
  Will
• 11:53
  always.
• 11:53
  You
• 11:54
  know,
• 11:55
  and
• 11:55
  sometimes
• 11:55
  you
• 11:55
  have
• 11:56
  to
• 11:56
  cut
• 11:56
  to
• 11:56
  grow.
• 11:56
  Right?
• 11:56
  I'm
• 11:57
  not,
• 11:57
  I'm
• 11:57
  not
• 11:57
  against
• 11:57
  that.
• 11:58
  I
• 11:58
  cut
• 11:58
  a
• 11:58
  lot
• 11:59
  in
• 11:59
  club,
• 11:59
  but
• 11:59
  it's
• 12:00
  understanding
• 12:00
  what,
• 12:00
  it's
• 12:00
  understanding
• 12:01
  what,
• 12:02
  what
• 12:02
  you
• 12:02
  can
• 12:03
  cut
• 12:03
  and
• 12:04
  grow.
• 12:04
  And
• 12:04
  I
• 12:04
  think
• 12:05
  that
• 12:05
  that
• 12:06
  requires
• 12:06
  quite
• 12:06
  an
• 12:06
  intimate
• 12:07
  understanding
• 12:07
  of
• 12:08
  what
• 12:08
  you've
• 12:08
  purchased.
• 12:09
  Really.
• 12:09
  It
• 12:09
  reminds
• 12:10
  me
• 12:10
  a
• 12:10
  little

  of
• 12:11
  when

  Rupert
• 12:13
  Murdoch
• 12:13
  bought
• 12:14
  my
• 12:14

• 12:15
  and
• 12:15
  then
• 12:16
  I
• 12:16
  think
• 12:16
  just
• 12:16
  had
• 12:17
  no
• 12:17
  real
• 12:17
  understanding
• 12:18
  of
• 12:19
  the

• 12:20

• 12:21
  of
• 12:21
  really
• 12:22
  how

  to
• 12:23
  kind
• 12:23
  of

  I'll

  you

  you

  I

• 12:31
  I
• 12:31

• 12:32
  one
• 12:32
  thing
• 12:32
  I
• 12:32
  want
• 12:32
  to

  you
• 12:38

• 12:38
  it's
• 12:38
  kind
• 12:38
  of
• 12:38
  like
• 12:38
  this,
• 12:40
  this
• 12:40
  legend
• 12:41
  now
• 12:41
  or
• 12:41
  this
• 12:41
  like,
• 12:42
  you
• 12:42
  know,
• 12:42
  kind
• 12:42
  of
• 12:43
  like
• 12:43
  people
• 12:43
  talk
• 12:43
  about
• 12:44
  like
• 12:44
  Camelot
• 12:44
  or
• 12:45
  something,
• 12:45
  you
• 12:45
  know,
• 12:46
  and,
• 12:46
  and
• 12:47
  it
• 12:47
  was
• 12:47
  all
• 12:47
  real,
• 12:48
  you
• 12:49
  know,
• 12:49
  like
• 12:50
  that
• 12:51
  team.
• 12:51
  What
• 12:52
  I
• 12:52
  loved
• 12:52
  about
• 12:52
  working
• 12:52
  with
• 12:53
  that
• 12:53
  team
• 12:53
  is
• 12:53
  everyone
• 12:54
  woke
• 12:54
  up
• 12:54
  every
• 12:55
  day
• 12:55
  focused
• 12:55
  on
• 12:56
  the
• 12:56
  kids
• 12:56
  and
• 12:56
  making
• 12:57
  the
• 12:57
  best
• 12:58
  play
• 12:58
  experience
• 12:58
  for
• 12:59
  the
• 12:59
  kids.
• 12:59
  And,
• 13:01
  and
• 13:01
  we
• 13:01
  were
• 13:02
  listening,
• 13:02
  you
• 13:02
  know,
• 13:02
  Lane
• 13:03
  really
• 13:03
  trained
• 13:03
  us
• 13:04
  all
• 13:04
  to
• 13:04
  listen
• 13:04
  to
• 13:04
  the
• 13:05
  audience.
• 13:06
  And,
• 13:06
  you
• 13:06
  know,
• 13:07
  most
• 13:07
  of
• 13:07
  our
• 13:08
  best
• 13:08
  ideas
• 13:08
  came
• 13:09
  from
• 13:09
  the
• 13:10
  audience.
• 13:10
  Like
• 13:10
  that
• 13:10
  card
• 13:11
  jitsu
• 13:11
  card
• 13:11
  game
• 13:12
  I
• 13:12
  talked
• 13:12
  about
• 13:13
  was
• 13:13
  based
• 13:14
  on
• 13:14
  a,
• 13:14
  like
• 13:15
  a
• 13:15
  meme
• 13:15
  kind
• 13:16
  of
• 13:16
  legend
• 13:17
  that
• 13:17
  the,
• 13:17
  that
• 13:18
  the,
• 13:18
  that
• 13:18
  the
• 13:19
  community
• 13:19
  came
• 13:19
  up
• 13:19
  with
• 13:20
  around.
• 13:20
  There
• 13:20
  were
• 13:20
  a
• 13:20
  bunch
• 13:21
  of,
• 13:21
  like,
• 13:21
  blotchy
• 13:22
  images
• 13:23
  in
• 13:23
  some
• 13:23
  of
• 13:24
  the
• 13:24
  early
• 13:24
  art
• 13:25
  and,
• 13:26
  and
• 13:26
  the,
• 13:28
  and
• 13:28
  the,
• 13:29
  and
• 13:29
  it
• 13:29
  was
• 13:29
  because
• 13:29
  our
• 13:29
  artists
• 13:30
  were
• 13:30
  sort
• 13:30
  of,
• 13:30
  they
• 13:30
  had
• 13:31
  a
• 13:31
  charm,
• 13:31
  but
• 13:32
  they
• 13:32
  were
• 13:32
  sort
• 13:32
  of
• 13:32
  amateur
• 13:33
  artists.
• 13:33
  Right?
• 13:33
  And
• 13:34
  in
• 13:35
  the
• 13:35
  beginning.
• 13:35
  And
• 13:35
  so
• 13:37
  the,
• 13:37
  the
• 13:37
  blotchy
• 13:38
  kind
• 13:38
  of
• 13:39
  things
• 13:39
  that
• 13:39
  were
• 13:40
  like
• 13:40
  shadows
• 13:40
  or
• 13:40
  whatever,
• 13:41
  the
• 13:41
  kids
• 13:41
  started
• 13:42
  speculating,
• 13:42
  oh,
• 13:43
  those
• 13:43
  are
• 13:43
  ninjas.
• 13:44
  And
• 13:44
  so
• 13:45
  when
• 13:45
  we.
• 13:45
  And
• 13:45
  so
• 13:46
  ninjas
• 13:46
  became
• 13:46
  this
• 13:46
  huge
• 13:47
  lore
• 13:47
  and
• 13:48
  so
• 13:48
  we
• 13:48
  want,
• 13:48
  when
• 13:48
  we
• 13:48
  wanted
• 13:49
  to
• 13:49
  create
• 13:49
  this
• 13:49
  card
• 13:50
  game,
• 13:51
  the.
• 13:52
  One
• 13:52
  of
• 13:52
  the
• 13:52
  co
• 13:52
  founders,
• 13:53
  Lance,
• 13:53
  said,
• 13:54
  let's
• 13:55
  do
• 13:55
  the
• 13:55
  ninjas.
• 13:56
  The
• 13:56
  kids
• 13:56
  have
• 13:56
  been
• 13:56
  wanting
• 13:56
  this
• 13:57
  for
• 13:57
  a
• 13:57
  long
• 13:57
  time.
• 13:57
  Let's
• 13:57
  just
• 13:58
  do
• 13:58
  it.
• 13:59
  And
• 14:00
  that's
• 14:00
  where
• 14:00
  card
• 14:01
  jitsu
• 14:01
  came
• 14:01
  from.
• 14:01
  And
• 14:02
  we
• 14:02
  did
• 14:03
  this,
• 14:03
  you
• 14:03
  know,
• 14:03
  funny,
• 14:04
  silly
• 14:05
  card
• 14:06
  battle
• 14:06
  game
• 14:08
  and
• 14:08
  it,
• 14:08
  and
• 14:08
  it
• 14:09
  just
• 14:09
  took
• 14:09
  off.
• 14:09
  Right?
• 14:10
  And
• 14:10
  I
• 14:10
  don't
• 14:10
  think
• 14:11
  that
• 14:11
  Disney
• 14:11
  really
• 14:11
  understood
• 14:12
  the,
• 14:13
  the
• 14:14
  ability
• 14:14
  to
• 14:14
  use
• 14:15
  a
• 14:15
  platform
• 14:15
  to
• 14:16
  do
• 14:16
  that
• 14:16
  without
• 14:17
  having
• 14:17
  to,
• 14:18
  you
• 14:18
  know,
• 14:18
  drive
• 14:19
  it
• 14:19
  on
• 14:19
  television
• 14:20
  or
• 14:20
  film
• 14:20
  or
• 14:21
  whatever,
• 14:21
  but
• 14:21
  being
• 14:22
  able
• 14:22
  to
• 14:22
  have
• 14:22
  a
• 14:22
  platform
• 14:23
  to
• 14:24
  launch
• 14:24
  new
• 14:24
  IP
• 14:25
  and
• 14:25
  launch
• 14:25
  new
• 14:26
  IP
• 14:26
  like
• 14:26
  that.
• 14:26
  But
• 14:27
  the,
• 14:27
  but
• 14:27
  the
• 14:27
  audience
• 14:28
  Was
• 14:28
  very,
• 14:28
  you
• 14:29
  know,
• 14:29
  the
• 14:29
  team
• 14:29
  was
• 14:30
  very
• 14:31
  motivated
• 14:31
  but
• 14:32
  was
• 14:32
  really
• 14:32
  there
• 14:33
  to
• 14:33
  keep
• 14:33
  it
• 14:34
  safe
• 14:34
  and
• 14:34
  to
• 14:35
  serve
• 14:35
  the
• 14:35
  audience.
• 14:35
  And
• 14:36
  to
• 14:36
  your
• 14:36
  point
• 14:37
  about
• 14:37
  like,
• 14:37
  do
• 14:38
  you
• 14:38
  know
• 14:38
  what
• 14:38
  you
• 14:38
  bought?
• 14:39
  And
• 14:40
  keeping
• 14:40
  it
• 14:41
  special,
• 14:41
  like,
• 14:42
  we
• 14:42
  had
• 14:42
  a
• 14:42
  huge
• 14:43
  team
• 14:43
  of
• 14:44
  moderators
• 14:45
  and,
• 14:46
  but
• 14:46
  they
• 14:46
  were
• 14:46
  also
• 14:47
  a
• 14:47
  huge
• 14:47
  cost
• 14:47
  center.
• 14:48
  And
• 14:49
  a
• 14:49
  lot
• 14:49
  of
• 14:49
  what
• 14:50
  they
• 14:50
  were
• 14:50
  doing
• 14:50
  was
• 14:51
  like,
• 14:52
  you
• 14:53
  know,
• 14:53
  not
• 14:53
  necessarily.
• 14:54
  I
• 14:54
  mean,
• 14:55
  a
• 14:55
  lot
• 14:55
  of,
• 14:55
  there
• 14:55
  was
• 14:56
  a
• 14:56
  fair
• 14:56
  amount
• 14:56
  of
• 14:56
  like,
• 14:59
  there
• 14:59
  was
• 15:00
  a
• 15:00
  fair
• 15:00
  amount
• 15:00
  of
• 15:00
  like
• 15:01
  going
• 15:01
  in
• 15:01
  the
• 15:01
  world
• 15:02
  and
• 15:02
  making
• 15:02
  sure
• 15:02
  it
• 15:02
  was
• 15:02
  safe
• 15:03
  and
• 15:03
  kicking
• 15:03
  people
• 15:03
  off
• 15:03
  or
• 15:04
  doing
• 15:04
  inappropriate
• 15:05
  things.
• 15:05
  And
• 15:05
  it
• 15:05
  was
• 15:06
  a
• 15:06
  whole
• 15:06
  side
• 15:06
  to
• 15:06
  that
• 15:07
  of
• 15:07
  like
• 15:08
  kids,
• 15:08
  you
• 15:08
  know,
• 15:09
  threatening
• 15:10
  suicide
• 15:10
  or
• 15:11
  reporting,
• 15:11
  you
• 15:12
  know,
• 15:12
  sexual
• 15:12
  abuse
• 15:13
  at
• 15:13
  home
• 15:13
  or,
• 15:14
  you
• 15:14
  know,
• 15:14
  there
• 15:15
  were
• 15:15
  all
• 15:15
  kinds
• 15:15
  of
• 15:15
  things
• 15:15
  like
• 15:16
  that
• 15:16
  where,
• 15:16
  you
• 15:16
  know,
• 15:17
  we
• 15:17
  were
• 15:17
  constantly
• 15:17
  working
• 15:17
  with
• 15:18
  law
• 15:18
  enforcement
• 15:18
  to
• 15:19
  keep
• 15:19
  kids
• 15:19
  safe.
• 15:21
  But,
• 15:21
  but
• 15:21
  there
• 15:22
  was
• 15:22
  a
• 15:22
  whole
• 15:22
  other
• 15:22
  side
• 15:23
  of
• 15:23
  it,
• 15:23
  which
• 15:23
  is
• 15:23
  a
• 15:23
  lot
• 15:23
  of
• 15:24
  what
• 15:24
  the
• 15:24
  moderators
• 15:24
  did
• 15:25
  was
• 15:26
  respond
• 15:26
  to
• 15:26
  kids
• 15:26
  emails,
• 15:28
  you
• 15:28
  know,
• 15:28
  do
• 15:29
  appearances
• 15:29
  in
• 15:29
  game,
• 15:30
  you
• 15:30
  know,
• 15:31
  do
• 15:31
  like
• 15:31
  community
• 15:32
  building
• 15:32
  stuff.
• 15:32
  And
• 15:33
  the
• 15:33
  idea
• 15:33
  that
• 15:34
  kids
• 15:34
  could
• 15:34
  get
• 15:34
  a
• 15:35
  email
• 15:35
  from
• 15:35
  a
• 15:35
  mod
• 15:36
  was
• 15:36
  like,
• 15:37
  oh
• 15:37
  my
• 15:37
  gosh,
• 15:37
  they
• 15:38
  listen
• 15:38
  to
• 15:38
  me,
• 15:38
  they,
• 15:38
  they,
• 15:39
  they
• 15:40
  recognize
• 15:40
  me,
• 15:41
  they
• 15:41
  sent
• 15:41
  me,
• 15:42
  you
• 15:43
  know,
• 15:43
  they
• 15:43
  responded
• 15:44
  to
• 15:44
  me.
• 15:44
  And
• 15:44
  that
• 15:45
  made
• 15:45
  a
• 15:45
  lot
• 15:45
  of
• 15:45
  kids
• 15:46
  feel
• 15:46
  very
• 15:46
  special.
• 15:48
  And
• 15:48
  so,
• 15:49
  and
• 15:49
  I
• 15:49
  think
• 15:50
  that
• 15:50
  as
• 15:50
  the
• 15:51
  cost
• 15:51
  hammer
• 15:52
  started
• 15:52
  to
• 15:52
  sling
• 15:53
  and
• 15:53
  you
• 15:54
  lost
• 15:54
  a
• 15:54
  lot
• 15:54
  of
• 15:55
  that
• 15:55
  kind
• 15:55
  of
• 15:55
  like,
• 15:57
  you
• 15:57
  know,
• 15:57
  the,
• 15:57
  the
• 15:58
  people
• 15:58
  on
• 15:58
  the
• 15:58
  other
• 15:59
  end
• 15:59
  who
• 15:59
  were,
• 16:00
  who
• 16:00
  were
• 16:01
  talking
• 16:01
  to
• 16:01
  the
• 16:01
  fans,
• 16:03
  you
• 16:03
  know,
• 16:03
  maybe,
• 16:04
  you
• 16:04
  know,
• 16:04
  you
• 16:04
  could
• 16:04
  say,
• 16:05
  well,
• 16:05
  it's
• 16:05
  not
• 16:05
  scalable
• 16:06
  and
• 16:06
  that,
• 16:06
  you
• 16:07
  know,
• 16:07
  it
• 16:07
  was
• 16:07
  a
• 16:08
  big
• 16:08
  cost
• 16:09
  and
• 16:10
  you
• 16:10
  know,
• 16:10
  often
• 16:11
  a
• 16:11
  debilitating
• 16:12
  cost,
• 16:12
  but
• 16:13
  it
• 16:13
  also
• 16:13
  is
• 16:13
  what
• 16:14
  made
• 16:14
  it
• 16:14
  special.
• 16:15
  And
• 16:15
  so,
• 16:15
  yeah,
• 16:16
  and
• 16:17
  you
• 16:18
  know,
• 16:21
  you
• 16:21
  know,
• 16:21
  I
• 16:21
  still
• 16:21
  think
• 16:21
  about,
• 16:22
  I
• 16:22
  wish,
• 16:22
  I
• 16:22
  wish
• 16:22
  there
• 16:22
  had
• 16:23
  been
• 16:23
  a
• 16:23
  way
• 16:23
  to
• 16:23
  like
• 16:25
  preserve
• 16:25
  all
• 16:26
  that
• 16:26
  and
• 16:26
  get
• 16:26
  it
• 16:27
  to
• 16:27
  the
• 16:27
  other
• 16:27
  side
• 16:27
  of
• 16:27
  this
• 16:27
  business,
• 16:28
  you
• 16:28
  know.
• 16:29
  Yeah,
• 16:29
  it's.
• 16:31
  Hindsight
• 16:32
  is
• 16:32
  a
• 16:32
  wonderful
• 16:32
  thing,
• 16:32
  but
• 16:32
  I
• 16:33
  think
• 16:33
  in
• 16:33
  this
• 16:33
  case
• 16:34
  you,
• 16:35
  you're
• 16:35
  calling
• 16:35
  out
• 16:36
  some
• 16:36
  things
• 16:36
  that
• 16:36
  we
• 16:36
  know
• 16:37
  now
• 16:37
  to
• 16:37
  be
• 16:37
  true
• 16:37
  that
• 16:38
  at
• 16:38
  the
• 16:38
  time
• 16:39
  the
• 16:39
  execs
• 16:40
  at
• 16:40
  Disney
• 16:40
  doubted
• 16:41
  which
• 16:41
  was
• 16:42
  ugc.
• 16:43
  You
• 16:44
  just
• 16:44
  said
• 16:45
  the
• 16:45
  audience
• 16:45
  came
• 16:46
  up
• 16:46
  with
• 16:46
  the
• 16:46
  idea
• 16:47
  for
• 16:47
  Kajitsu.
• 16:48
  It
• 16:49
  was
• 16:49
  ugc.
• 16:50
  Now
• 16:50
  at
• 16:50
  the
• 16:51
  time,
• 16:51
  the
• 16:51
  technology
• 16:51
  didn't
• 16:52
  facilitate
• 16:52
  that
• 16:52
  feedback
• 16:53
  loop
• 16:54
  that
• 16:54
  you
• 16:54
  can
• 16:54
  get
• 16:54
  slightly
• 16:55
  more
• 16:55
  immediately
• 16:56
  now
• 16:56
  when
• 16:56
  you've
• 16:56
  got
• 16:56
  Discord
• 16:57
  servers
• 16:57
  or
• 16:57
  you've
• 16:58
  got
• 16:58
  groups
• 16:58
  on
• 16:58
  Roblox,
• 16:59
  but
• 16:59
  actually
• 16:59
  it
• 17:00
  came
• 17:00
  from
• 17:00
  them.
• 17:00
  And
• 17:01
  we
• 17:01
  know
• 17:01
  how
• 17:01
  important
• 17:02
  that
• 17:02
  community
• 17:03
  is
• 17:03
  and
• 17:04
  feeling
• 17:04
  invested
• 17:05
  in
• 17:05
  game
• 17:06
  dev
• 17:06
  or
• 17:06
  updates
• 17:08
  now
• 17:08
  fast
• 17:09
  forwarding
• 17:09
  what,
• 17:10
  10,
• 17:10
  12,
• 17:10
  13
• 17:11
  years
• 17:12
  after
• 17:12
  it
• 17:12
  happened
• 17:12
  in
• 17:13
  Club
• 17:13
  Penguin.
• 17:13
  So
• 17:14
  I
• 17:14
  think
• 17:14
  that's
• 17:14
  really
• 17:14
  interesting,
• 17:15
  you
• 17:15
  know,
• 17:15
  precursor
• 17:16
  to
• 17:16
  ugc
• 17:16
  and
• 17:17
  a
• 17:17
  big
• 17:18
  misunderstanding
• 17:19
  at
• 17:19
  the
• 17:19
  studio
• 17:20
  exec
• 17:21
  level
• 17:21
  of
• 17:21
  what
• 17:21
  that
• 17:22
  means
• 17:22
  and
• 17:22
  how
• 17:22
  powerful
• 17:23
  that
• 17:23
  is
• 17:24
  and
• 17:24
  how
• 17:24
  important
• 17:25
  to
• 17:25
  users.
• 17:26
  But
• 17:26
  what
• 17:27
  I
• 17:27
  really
• 17:27
  love
• 17:27
  is
• 17:27
  something
• 17:28
  that
• 17:28
  you
• 17:28
  said
• 17:28
  before
• 17:28
  that
• 17:29
  I
• 17:29
  think
• 17:29
  I
• 17:29
  see
• 17:29
  coming
• 17:30
  back
• 17:30
  now
• 17:32
  is
• 17:34
  these
• 17:35
  weren't
• 17:35
  necessarily
• 17:36
  computer
• 17:36
  science
• 17:36
  engineers.
• 17:37
  They
• 17:37
  were
• 17:37
  artists
• 17:38
  who
• 17:38
  knew
• 17:38
  how
• 17:38
  to
• 17:39
  code.
• 17:39
  Yes.
• 17:39
  And
• 17:40
  that
• 17:40
  very
• 17:40
  often
• 17:41
  results
• 17:41
  in
• 17:42
  something
• 17:42
  that
• 17:42
  is
• 17:42
  much
• 17:42
  more
• 17:43
  appealing.
• 17:43
  Because
• 17:44
  if
• 17:44
  you're
• 17:44
  a
• 17:44
  pure
• 17:44
  technologist
• 17:45
  and
• 17:45
  you're
• 17:45
  just
• 17:46
  creating
• 17:46
  because
• 17:46
  the
• 17:47
  technology
• 17:47
  is
• 17:47
  allowing
• 17:48
  you
• 17:48
  to
• 17:48
  do
• 17:48
  something
• 17:49
  doesn't
• 17:49
  necessarily
• 17:50
  mean
• 17:50
  it's
• 17:50
  gonna
• 17:50
  be
• 17:50
  good.
• 17:51
  And
• 17:51
  I.
• 17:52
  I
• 17:52
  like
• 17:52
  the
• 17:52
  idea
• 17:53
  that
• 17:53
  it
• 17:53
  was
• 17:53
  the
• 17:53
  artists
• 17:54
  that,
• 17:56
  you
• 17:56
  know,
• 17:56
  the
• 17:57
  difference
• 17:57
  between
• 17:57
  Club
• 17:58
  Penguin
• 17:58
  and
• 17:59
  maybe
• 18:00
  Disney
• 18:00
  Infinity,
• 18:01
  which
• 18:01
  was
• 18:02
  very
• 18:02
  much
• 18:02
  a
• 18:03
  technology
• 18:03
  play,
• 18:04
  but
• 18:04
  didn't
• 18:04
  necessarily
• 18:05
  work,
• 18:05
  but
• 18:06
  something
• 18:06
  that
• 18:07
  perhaps
• 18:07
  didn't
• 18:07
  feel
• 18:08
  as
• 18:08
  technologically
• 18:08
  forward
• 18:09
  as
• 18:09
  Club
• 18:09
  Penguin,
• 18:10
  but
• 18:10
  was
• 18:10
  driven
• 18:10
  by
• 18:11
  artists
• 18:11
  with
• 18:11
  a
• 18:11
  passion
• 18:12
  who
• 18:13
  had
• 18:13
  a
• 18:13
  connection
• 18:13
  with
• 18:13
  their
• 18:14
  audience.
• 18:15
  Now
• 18:15
  we
• 18:15
  look
• 18:15
  back
• 18:15
  at
• 18:16
  it
• 18:16
  and
• 18:16
  we
• 18:16
  wouldn't
• 18:16
  class
• 18:16
  Disney
• 18:17
  Infinity
• 18:17
  or
• 18:18
  we
• 18:18
  wouldn't
• 18:18
  look
• 18:18
  at
• 18:18
  it
• 18:18
  with
• 18:19
  the
• 18:19
  same.
• 18:21
  What's
• 18:21
  the
• 18:21
  word
• 18:21
  that
• 18:21
  I'm
• 18:22
  looking
• 18:22
  for?
• 18:22
  That
• 18:22
  kind
• 18:22
  of
• 18:22
  same
• 18:22
  love
• 18:23
  as
• 18:23
  Club
• 18:23
  Penguin
• 18:24
  still
• 18:25
  inspires
• 18:25
  today.
• 18:26
  I
• 18:26
  was
• 18:26
  watching
• 18:27
  TikToks,
• 18:28
  even
• 18:28
  now,
• 18:29
  of
• 18:29
  people
• 18:30
  just
• 18:30
  lamenting
• 18:31
  the
• 18:31
  loss
• 18:31
  of
• 18:32
  Club
• 18:32
  Penguin.
• 18:33
  No,
• 18:34
  there's
• 18:34
  a
• 18:34
  massive
• 18:35
  community
• 18:36
  that
• 18:36
  still
• 18:37
  is
• 18:37
  involved
• 18:38
  in
• 18:38
  Club
• 18:38
  Penguin.
• 18:39
  There
• 18:39
  are.
• 18:40
  There
• 18:40
  are
• 18:40
  server.
• 18:41
  There
• 18:41
  are
• 18:41
  still
• 18:41
  bloggers
• 18:42
  who
• 18:42
  blog
• 18:42
  about
• 18:43
  or
• 18:43
  Twitter
• 18:44
  accounts
• 18:44
  that
• 18:44
  talk
• 18:45
  about
• 18:45
  it.
• 18:45
  There's
• 18:46
  still.
• 18:46
  There's
• 18:47
  nostalgia
• 18:47
  videos
• 18:48
  that
• 18:48
  come
• 18:48
  out
• 18:48
  all
• 18:48
  the
• 18:49
  time.
• 18:49
  People
• 18:49
  send
• 18:49
  to
• 18:49
  me
• 18:50
  there.
• 18:50
  There
• 18:51
  are
• 18:51
  pirate
• 18:51
  servers
• 18:52
  that
• 18:52
  are
• 18:52
  running
• 18:53
  today
• 18:53
  that
• 18:53
  have
• 18:53
  more
• 18:54
  people
• 18:54
  playing
• 18:54
  Club
• 18:55
  Penguin
• 18:55
  than
• 18:56
  ever
• 18:56
  played
• 18:56
  at
• 18:56
  the
• 18:56
  height
• 18:57
  of
• 18:57
  Club
• 18:57
  Penguin.
• 18:58
  And
• 18:58
  in
• 18:58
  fact,
• 18:59
  they
• 18:59
  have
• 18:59
  their
• 18:59
  own
• 19:00
  kind
• 19:00
  of
• 19:00
  lore
• 19:00
  and
• 19:01
  mythology
• 19:01
  that's
• 19:01
  evolved
• 19:02
  beyond
• 19:03
  Club
• 19:04
  Penguin.
• 19:04
  I
• 19:04
  mean,
• 19:04
  what's
• 19:04
  interesting
• 19:05
  is,
• 19:05
  like,
• 19:05
  I
• 19:05
  think,
• 19:06
  you
• 19:06
  know,
• 19:07
  in
• 19:07
  my
• 19:07
  brain,
• 19:08
  like,
• 19:08
  I
• 19:08
  think
• 19:08
  I
• 19:09
  know
• 19:09
  Club
• 19:09
  Penguin
• 19:09
  because
• 19:10
  I,
• 19:11
  you
• 19:11
  know,
• 19:12
  helped
• 19:12
  create
• 19:13
  a
• 19:13
  big
• 19:13
  part
• 19:14
  of
• 19:14
  it.
• 19:14
  But
• 19:15
  there's
• 19:15
  a
• 19:15
  whole
• 19:16
  decade
• 19:17
  or
• 19:17
  more
• 19:18
  that
• 19:18
  happened
• 19:19
  after
• 19:19
  my
• 19:19
  time
• 19:20
  that
• 19:20
  happened
• 19:21
  on
• 19:21
  these
• 19:21
  pirate
• 19:21
  servers
• 19:22
  that
• 19:22
  now
• 19:23
  kids
• 19:24
  and,
• 19:24
  you
• 19:25

  you
• 19:30
  know,
• 19:31
  these
• 19:31
  pirate
• 19:31
  servers.
• 19:32
  Like,
• 19:32
  there's
• 19:32
  stuff

  those
• 19:33

  what

• 19:38
  I
• 19:38

  I'm
• 19:38

• 19:40
  I
• 19:40

  you
• 19:42
  know,
• 19:42
  I

• 19:43
  me
• 19:44
  saying
• 19:44
  this,
• 19:44
  like,
• 19:44
  Logan
• 19:44
  Paul
• 19:45
  is
• 19:45
  a
• 19:45
  huge

• 19:46
  I've
• 19:46
  gotten
• 19:46
  to
• 19:46
  know
• 19:46
  him
• 19:46
  because
• 19:47
  of

  He's
• 19:49
  a
• 19:49
  huge
• 19:49
  fan
• 19:49
  of
• 19:50
  Penguin
• 19:50
  and
• 19:51
  wanted
• 19:51
  to
• 19:52
  find
• 19:52
  a
• 19:52
  way
• 19:52
  to

  two
• 20:00
  months
• 20:00

• 20:01
  tweeted
• 20:01

  about
• 20:02
  Disney
• 20:02
  really,
• 20:03
  you
• 20:03
  know,
• 20:03
  effed
• 20:04
  up
• 20:04
  by
• 20:04
  shutting
• 20:04
  down
• 20:04
  Club
• 20:05
  Penguin.
• 20:05
  And
• 20:05
  then
• 20:06
  Tyrese
• 20:06
  and.
• 20:06
  And
• 20:07
  Logan
• 20:07
  and
• 20:07
  I
• 20:08
  were,
• 20:08
  you
• 20:09
  know,
• 20:09
  were
• 20:09
  like,
• 20:09
  cross
• 20:10
  chatting
• 20:10
  about
• 20:10
  it.
• 20:11
  Like,
• 20:11
  they're
• 20:12
  like.
• 20:12
  It
• 20:13
  touched
• 20:13
  a
• 20:13
  whole
• 20:13
  generation.
• 20:14
  And
• 20:14
  it,
• 20:15
  you
• 20:15
  know,
• 20:15
  for
• 20:15
  a
• 20:15
  generation
• 20:16
  that's
• 20:16
  sort
• 20:16
  of
• 20:16
  like,
• 20:17
  you
• 20:17
  think
• 20:17
  about
• 20:17
  if
• 20:18
  you're
• 20:18
  in
• 20:18
  your
• 20:18
  20s
• 20:18
  now,
• 20:19
  which
• 20:19
  my
• 20:20
  son,
• 20:20
  my
• 20:20
  kids
• 20:20
  are,
• 20:21
  right.
• 20:21
  And
• 20:21
  they
• 20:22
  grew
• 20:22
  up
• 20:22
  with
• 20:22
  me
• 20:22
  on
• 20:22
  club.
• 20:23
  They
• 20:23
  were
• 20:23
  right
• 20:23
  at
• 20:23
  that
• 20:24
  age.
• 20:24
  Club
• 20:24
  Penguin
• 20:25
  age.
• 20:25
  And
• 20:25
  they
• 20:25
  grew
• 20:26
  up
• 20:26
  with
• 20:26
  me
• 20:26
  on.
• 20:27
  On
• 20:27
  running
• 20:28
  Club
• 20:28
  Penguin.
• 20:29
  And,
• 20:29
  you
• 20:29
  know,
• 20:30
  they're.
• 20:31
  They're,
• 20:32
  you
• 20:32
  know,
• 20:32
  that
• 20:33
  generation
• 20:33
  has
• 20:34
  seen,
• 20:34
  you
• 20:35
  know,
• 20:35
  I
• 20:35
  mean,
• 20:36
  the
• 20:36
  2008
• 20:37
  financial
• 20:37
  crash.
• 20:38
  They've
• 20:38
  seen,
• 20:40
  you
• 20:40
  know,
• 20:40
  the,
• 20:41
  you
• 20:41
  know,
• 20:41
  Covid.
• 20:42
  They've
• 20:42
  seen,
• 20:43
  you
• 20:43
  know,
• 20:43
  just
• 20:43
  a
• 20:43
  world
• 20:45
  gone
• 20:46
  mad,
• 20:46
  right?
• 20:47
  And
• 20:48
  so
• 20:48
  Club
• 20:48
  Penguin
• 20:49
  is
• 20:49
  like
• 20:49
  this
• 20:50
  for
• 20:50
  them,
• 20:50
  I
• 20:50
  think,
• 20:50
  this
• 20:51
  oasis
• 20:52
  in
• 20:52
  their
• 20:52
  heart
• 20:53
  in
• 20:53
  a
• 20:53
  way.
• 20:53
  It's
• 20:53
  like
• 20:53
  this,
• 20:54
  you
• 20:54
  know,
• 20:55
  this.
• 20:55
  This
• 20:55
  little,
• 20:56
  you
• 20:56
  know,
• 20:56
  island
• 20:57
  of.
• 20:58
  Of.
• 20:58
  Of.
• 20:59
  Of,
• 21:00
  you
• 21:00
  know,
• 21:01
  of.
• 21:01
  Of.
• 21:02
  Of
• 21:02
  youthful
• 21:04
  innocence.
• 21:05
  Right?
• 21:05
  And
• 21:06
  something
• 21:06
  that.
• 21:06
  That
• 21:06
  Lane
• 21:07
  and
• 21:07
  I
• 21:07
  used
• 21:07
  to
• 21:07
  talk
• 21:07
  about
• 21:08
  is
• 21:08
  our
• 21:08
  job
• 21:09
  was
• 21:10
  to
• 21:10
  protect
• 21:10
  the
• 21:10
  innocence
• 21:11
  of
• 21:11
  the
• 21:11
  audience
• 21:12
  and
• 21:12
  that
• 21:12
  a
• 21:12
  lot
• 21:13
  of
• 21:13
  what
• 21:13
  gaming
• 21:14
  and
• 21:14
  culture
• 21:14
  wants
• 21:15
  to
• 21:15
  do
• 21:16
  is.
• 21:17
  Is
• 21:17
  sort
• 21:17
  of,
• 21:19
  you
• 21:19
  know,
• 21:21
  is
• 21:22
  to.
• 21:22
  Is
• 21:22
  to.
• 21:22
  Is
• 21:23
  to
• 21:23
  sort
• 21:23
  of
• 21:24
  push
• 21:25
  more
• 21:26
  mature
• 21:26
  culture
• 21:26
  on
• 21:27
  younger
• 21:27
  and
• 21:27
  younger
• 21:27
  kids.
• 21:29
  And.
• 21:29
  And
• 21:30
  that
• 21:30
  our
• 21:30
  job
• 21:30
  was
• 21:31
  to
• 21:31
  protect
• 21:31
  that
• 21:32
  innocence
• 21:32
  for
• 21:32
  as
• 21:32
  long
• 21:33
  as
• 21:33
  we
• 21:33
  could.
• 21:33
  And,
• 21:35
  you
• 21:35
  know,
• 21:35
  I'll
• 21:35
  never
• 21:35
  forget
• 21:36
  we
• 21:36
  had
• 21:36
  this
• 21:36
  girl,
• 21:37
  and
• 21:37
  I'm
• 21:38
  blanking
• 21:38
  on
• 21:38
  her
• 21:38
  name.
• 21:38
  I
• 21:38
  can't
• 21:39
  believe
• 21:39
  I'm
• 21:39
  blanking
• 21:39
  on
• 21:39
  her
• 21:39
  name.
• 21:40
  But.
• 21:41
  But
• 21:42
  that
• 21:42
  we
• 21:42
  did
• 21:43
  in
• 21:43
  a
• 21:43
  focus
• 21:43
  group
• 21:44
  one
• 21:44
  time,
• 21:44
  and
• 21:44
  she
• 21:45
  was
• 21:45
  like
• 21:45
  this
• 21:47
  girl
• 21:47
  with
• 21:47
  big
• 21:47
  kind
• 21:48
  of
• 21:48
  coke
• 21:48
  bottle
• 21:48
  glasses
• 21:49
  or
• 21:49
  whatever.
• 21:49
  And,
• 21:50
  you
• 21:50
  know,
• 21:51
  and
• 21:51
  she
• 21:51
  said
• 21:52
  at
• 21:52
  school,
• 21:52
  I'm
• 21:52
  not
• 21:53
  the
• 21:53
  most
• 21:53
  popularist
• 21:54
  one,
• 21:54
  but
• 21:55
  on
• 21:55
  Club
• 21:55
  Penguin,
• 21:56
  I
• 21:56
  could
• 21:56
  be
• 21:56
  who
• 21:56
  I
• 21:56
  want
• 21:57
  to
• 21:57
  be
• 21:58
  and
• 21:59
  people
• 21:59
  like
• 21:59
  me
• 21:59
  for
• 21:59
  who
• 22:00
  I
• 22:00
  am
• 22:01
  and
• 22:01
  that.
• 22:02
  And
• 22:02
  we
• 22:03
  took
• 22:03
  that
• 22:03
  clip
• 22:03
  and
• 22:04
  we
• 22:04
  were
• 22:04
  like,
• 22:04
  that's
• 22:04
  really
• 22:05
  the
• 22:05
  heart
• 22:05
  of
• 22:06
  what
• 22:06
  we're
• 22:06
  trying
• 22:06
  to
• 22:06
  do
• 22:06
  here.
• 22:07
  And
• 22:07
  so,
• 22:07
  like,
• 22:08
  everyone
• 22:08
  else,
• 22:08
  like
• 22:09
  Moshi
• 22:09
  Monsters
• 22:10
  and,
• 22:10
  you
• 22:11
  know,
• 22:11
  everyone
• 22:11
  else
• 22:11
  kind
• 22:12
  of
• 22:12
  ripped
• 22:12
  off.
• 22:13
  And
• 22:13
  I
• 22:13
  have
• 22:13
  a
• 22:14
  lot
• 22:14
  of
• 22:14
  respect
• 22:14
  for
• 22:14
  Michael,
• 22:15
  you
• 22:15
  know,
• 22:15
  and
• 22:16
  he
• 22:16
  went
• 22:16
  on
• 22:16
  to
• 22:16
  do
• 22:16
  calm
• 22:17
  and,
• 22:17
  you
• 22:17
  know,
• 22:18
  great
• 22:18
  things,
• 22:18
  but,
• 22:19
  you
• 22:19
  know,
• 22:19
  he's
• 22:19
  a
• 22:20
  billionaire
• 22:20
  now
• 22:20
  and
• 22:20
  I'm
• 22:20
  not.
• 22:21
  But,
• 22:22
  but.
• 22:23
  But
• 22:23
  he.
• 22:24
  But
• 22:24
  Michael
• 22:24
  did
• 22:25
  a
• 22:25
  great
• 22:25
  job
• 22:25
  with.
• 22:25
  With
• 22:26
  Moshi
• 22:26
  Monsters.
• 22:27
  But
• 22:28
  Moshi
• 22:29
  and
• 22:29
  some
• 22:29
  of
• 22:29
  those
• 22:30
  other
• 22:30
  things
• 22:30
  that
• 22:30
  kind
• 22:31
  of
• 22:31
  knocked
• 22:32
  off
• 22:32
  Club
• 22:32
  Penguin.
• 22:33
  They
• 22:34
  knocked
• 22:34
  off
• 22:34
  the
• 22:35
  kind
• 22:35
  of
• 22:35
  superficiality
• 22:36
  of
• 22:36
  like,
• 22:36
  oh,
• 22:36
  we're
• 22:37
  going
• 22:37
  to
• 22:37
  have
• 22:37
  an
• 22:37
  avatar
• 22:38
  and
• 22:38
  mini
• 22:38
  games
• 22:38
  and
• 22:38
  all
• 22:39
  this
• 22:39
  other
• 22:39
  stuff,
• 22:40
  but
• 22:40
  they
• 22:40
  never
• 22:40
  captured
• 22:41
  that
• 22:41
  heart.
• 22:41
  Like,
• 22:42
  I
• 22:42
  don't
• 22:42
  think
• 22:42
  that
• 22:43
  there's
• 22:43
  nostalgia
• 22:44
  for,
• 22:45
  you
• 22:45
  know,
• 22:46
  no
• 22:46
  disrespect
• 22:46
  to
• 22:46
  Moshi,
• 22:47
  which,
• 22:47
  which
• 22:47
  I
• 22:48
  think
• 22:48
  was
• 22:48
  a
• 22:48
  great
• 22:48
  competitor,
• 22:49
  but
• 22:50
  there's
• 22:50
  not
• 22:50
  the
• 22:50
  same
• 22:51
  nostalgia
• 22:51
  for
• 22:51
  Moshi
• 22:52
  or
• 22:53
  for
• 22:53
  any
• 22:53
  of
• 22:53
  those
• 22:54
  other
• 22:54
  like
• 22:54
  a
• 22:55
  bunch
• 22:55
  of
• 22:55
  them
• 22:55
  that
• 22:56
  came
• 22:56
  after
• 22:56
  Club
• 22:57
  Penguin
• 22:57
  that
• 22:57
  you.
• 22:57
  That
• 22:58
  I
• 22:58
  don't
• 22:58
  even
• 22:58
  remember.
• 22:58
  Right.
• 23:00
  And
• 23:00
  I
• 23:00
  think
• 23:00
  that
• 23:01
  it.
• 23:01
  None
• 23:01
  of
• 23:01
  it
• 23:01
  had
• 23:02
  to
• 23:02
  do
• 23:02
  with
• 23:02
  our
• 23:02
  technology
• 23:03
  or
• 23:03
  like
• 23:04
  our
• 23:04
  gameplay.
• 23:05
  It
• 23:06
  all
• 23:06
  had
• 23:06
  to
• 23:06
  do
• 23:06
  with
• 23:06
  the
• 23:06
  community
• 23:07
  in
• 23:07
  the
• 23:07
  heart
• 23:07
  of
• 23:07
  the
• 23:08
  product.
• 23:10
  Fine.
• 23:10
  So
• 23:11
  you
• 23:11
  think
• 23:11
  the
• 23:11
  kind
• 23:11
  of,
• 23:11
  the
• 23:11
  nostalgia
• 23:12
  that
• 23:12
  Sparkle
• 23:13
  nostalgia
• 23:14
  arose
• 23:15
  out
• 23:15
  of
• 23:15
  that,
• 23:16
  the
• 23:16
  time
• 23:17
  and
• 23:17
  place
• 23:17
  in
• 23:17
  that
• 23:18
  community
• 23:18
  that
• 23:18
  was
• 23:18
  brought
• 23:19
  together
• 23:20
  as
• 23:20
  much
• 23:20
  as,
• 23:21
  as
• 23:21
  much
• 23:22
  as
• 23:22
  any
• 23:22
  of
• 23:22
  the
• 23:22
  other
• 23:22
  elements
• 23:23
  to
• 23:23
  it?
• 23:24
  Yeah,
• 23:24
  I
• 23:24
  think
• 23:24
  it
• 23:24
  was
• 23:25
  about
• 23:25
  giving
• 23:26
  kids
• 23:26
  a
• 23:26
  safe.
• 23:27
  I
• 23:27
  mean,
• 23:27
  I
• 23:27
  used
• 23:27
  to
• 23:27
  say,
• 23:28
  like,
• 23:29
  I
• 23:29
  run
• 23:29
  the
• 23:30
  biggest
• 23:30
  playground
• 23:30
  in
• 23:30
  the
• 23:31
  world,
• 23:32
  you
• 23:32
  know,
• 23:32
  and
• 23:33
  so
• 23:33
  my
• 23:34
  job
• 23:34
  is
• 23:34
  to
• 23:34
  keep
• 23:34
  it
• 23:34
  safe
• 23:35
  and
• 23:36
  you
• 23:36
  know,
• 23:37
  and,
• 23:37
  and
• 23:38
  to
• 23:38
  keep
• 23:38
  it
• 23:38
  fun.
• 23:39
  Right.
• 23:39
  And
• 23:40
  that's
• 23:40
  what
• 23:40
  we.
• 23:41
  And
• 23:41
  to
• 23:41
  give
• 23:42
  the
• 23:42
  kids
• 23:42
  something
• 23:42
  to
• 23:42
  do.
• 23:43
  And
• 23:44
  you
• 23:44
  know,
• 23:44
  every
• 23:44
  now
• 23:45
  and
• 23:45
  then,
• 23:45
  like,
• 23:46
  you
• 23:46
  know,
• 23:47
  the
• 23:47
  kid,
• 23:47
  there
• 23:47
  was
• 23:47
  this
• 23:48
  blogger,
• 23:48
  Sarah,
• 23:48
  Sarah
• 23:49
  April,
• 23:49
  who
• 23:51
  was,
• 23:51
  was
• 23:52
  always
• 23:52
  very
• 23:52
  critical
• 23:53
  Club
• 23:53
  Penguin,
• 23:54
  but
• 23:54
  she
• 23:54
  kind
• 23:54
  of
• 23:54
  kept
• 23:54
  us
• 23:55
  on
• 23:55
  her
• 23:55
  toes.
• 23:55
  And
• 23:56
  you
• 23:56
  know,
• 23:56
  I
• 23:56
  remember
• 23:56
  one
• 23:56
  time
• 23:57
  on
• 23:57
  Twitter
• 23:57
  that
• 23:58
  the
• 23:58
  community
• 23:58
  was
• 23:59
  like
• 23:59
  just
• 23:59
  dog
• 23:59
  piling
• 24:00
  on
• 24:00
  her,
• 24:00
  you
• 24:00
  know,
• 24:00
  because
• 24:00
  they
• 24:01
  didn't
• 24:01
  like
• 24:01
  all
• 24:01
  our
• 24:01
  negativity.
• 24:02
  And
• 24:02
  I
• 24:02
  was
• 24:02
  like,
• 24:02
  guys,
• 24:03
  you
• 24:03
  got
• 24:03
  to
• 24:03
  get
• 24:03
  off
• 24:03
  her.
• 24:03
  Like,
• 24:04
  I'm
• 24:04
  really
• 24:04
  disappointed
• 24:05
  in
• 24:05
  what
• 24:05
  I'm
• 24:06
  seeing
• 24:06
  out
• 24:06
  here
• 24:06
  because
• 24:06
  this
• 24:07
  is
• 24:07
  not
• 24:07
  what
• 24:07
  we
• 24:07
  stand
• 24:07
  for.
• 24:08
  And,
• 24:09
  and,
• 24:09
  and
• 24:09
  like
• 24:10
  I
• 24:10
  would
• 24:10
  have
• 24:10
  to
• 24:10
  be
• 24:10
  the
• 24:10
  parrot,
• 24:11
  you
• 24:11
  know,
• 24:11
  like,
• 24:12
  and
• 24:13
  the,
• 24:13
  with,
• 24:14
  with
• 24:14
  all
• 24:14
  these
• 24:15
  online
• 24:15
  kids.
• 24:15
  And
• 24:16
  so,
• 24:17
  but
• 24:17
  I,
• 24:18
  but
• 24:18
  you
• 24:18
  know,
• 24:18
  what
• 24:19
  I
• 24:19
  found
• 24:19
  is
• 24:19
  like,
• 24:19
  you
• 24:20
  can
• 24:20
  appeal
• 24:20
  to
• 24:20
  their,
• 24:21
  to
• 24:21
  their
• 24:22
  better
• 24:22
  angels,
• 24:22
  not
• 24:23
  just
• 24:23
  their
• 24:24
  worst
• 24:24
  instincts.
• 24:25
  And
• 24:25
  I
• 24:25
  think
• 24:26
  a
• 24:26
  lot
• 24:26
  of
• 24:26
  media
• 24:27
  just
• 24:27
  wants
• 24:27
  to.
• 24:29
  Doesn't
• 24:30
  believe
• 24:30
  in
• 24:30
  better
• 24:30
  angels
• 24:31
  really
• 24:31
  or
• 24:31
  thinks
• 24:32
  it's
• 24:32
  like
• 24:32
  superficial
• 24:34
  kind
• 24:34
  of,
• 24:35
  you
• 24:35
  know,
• 24:35
  happy
• 24:36
  talk.
• 24:36
  Like
• 24:37
  a
• 24:38
  lot
• 24:38
  of
• 24:38
  media
• 24:38
  is
• 24:38
  too
• 24:39
  cynical
• 24:39
  to
• 24:40
  actually
• 24:40
  believe
• 24:40
  that
• 24:40
  something
• 24:41
  can
• 24:41
  be
• 24:41
  good.
• 24:42
  You
• 24:43
  know,
• 24:43
  like,
• 24:43
  like
• 24:43
  there's
• 24:44
  a
• 24:44
  lot
• 24:44
  of
• 24:44
  virtue
• 24:44
  signaling,
• 24:45
  like
• 24:45
  people
• 24:45
  talk,
• 24:46
  you
• 24:46
  know,
• 24:46
  kind
• 24:46
  of
• 24:46
  politically
• 24:47
  virtue
• 24:47
  signal
• 24:48
  or
• 24:48
  whatever.
• 24:48
  And
• 24:49
  like,
• 24:49
  you
• 24:49
  know,
• 24:50
  like
• 24:50
  even
• 24:50
  with
• 24:51
  our
• 24:51
  charitable
• 24:51
  giving,
• 24:51
  like
• 24:52
  we
• 24:52
  gave
• 24:52
  millions
• 24:53
  of
• 24:53
  dollars
• 24:53
  charity
• 24:53
  one
• 24:54
  year,
• 24:54
  we
• 24:54
  donated
• 24:54
  $2
• 24:55
  million
• 24:55
  charity.
• 24:57
  And
• 24:57
  we
• 24:58
  always
• 24:58
  did
• 24:58
  it
• 24:58
  through
• 24:58
  this
• 24:58
  thing
• 24:59
  called
• 24:59
  Coins
• 25:00
  for
• 25:00
  Change,
• 25:01
  which
• 25:01
  the
• 25:01
  kids
• 25:01
  would
• 25:02
  vote
• 25:02
  with
• 25:02
  their
• 25:02
  in
• 25:02
  game
• 25:03
  money
• 25:03
  for.
• 25:03
  They
• 25:03
  would
• 25:04
  play
• 25:04
  games,
• 25:04
  earn
• 25:05
  money
• 25:05
  to
• 25:05
  vote
• 25:05
  on
• 25:05
  their
• 25:06
  charities.
• 25:06
  And
• 25:07
  they
• 25:07
  were
• 25:07
  always
• 25:07
  very,
• 25:09
  you
• 25:10
  know,
• 25:11
  very
• 25:12
  generous
• 25:13
  and
• 25:13
  would,
• 25:13
  and
• 25:13
  very
• 25:14
  egalitarian
• 25:15
  about
• 25:15
  it,
• 25:15
  where
• 25:15
  they
• 25:16
  wanted
• 25:16
  to
• 25:16
  make
• 25:16
  sure
• 25:16
  all
• 25:16
  the
• 25:16
  charities
• 25:17
  got
• 25:17
  funded
• 25:18
  to
• 25:18
  the
• 25:18
  same
• 25:18
  degree.
• 25:19
  And,
• 25:19
  and,
• 25:20
  and
• 25:21
  as
• 25:21
  we
• 25:21
  went,
• 25:21
  over
• 25:21
  time,
• 25:22
  we
• 25:22
  started
• 25:22
  to
• 25:22
  make
• 25:22
  it
• 25:22
  more
• 25:23
  overt
• 25:23
  where
• 25:23
  it's
• 25:23
  like,
• 25:24
  in
• 25:24
  the
• 25:24
  beginning
• 25:25
  it
• 25:25
  was
• 25:25
  like,
• 25:25
  you're
• 25:25
  funding
• 25:26
  it
• 25:26
  like
• 25:26
  a
• 25:27
  cause.
• 25:28
  And
• 25:29
  then
• 25:29
  over
• 25:29
  time
• 25:29
  we
• 25:30
  made
• 25:30
  it
• 25:30
  more
• 25:30
  clear,
• 25:30
  like,
• 25:30
  you're
• 25:31
  funding
• 25:31
  libraries,
• 25:32
  you're
• 25:32
  funding
• 25:33
  schools,
• 25:34
  you're
• 25:34
  funding
• 25:35
  playgrounds,
• 25:36
  you
• 25:36
  know,
• 25:36
  and
• 25:36
  there's,
• 25:36
  there's,
• 25:37
  there's,
• 25:38
  there's,
• 25:39
  there's
• 25:39
  kids
• 25:40
  who,
• 25:40
  you
• 25:41
  know,
• 25:41
  learned
• 25:42
  or
• 25:42
  got
• 25:42
  clean
• 25:42
  water
• 25:43
  or.
• 25:43
  You
• 25:43
  know,
• 25:44
  some
• 25:44
  of
• 25:44
  the
• 25:44
  things
• 25:44
  we
• 25:44
  didn't
• 25:44
  tell
• 25:45
  people
• 25:45
  is
• 25:45
  like,
• 25:46
  we
• 25:46
  would
• 25:46
  fund
• 25:46
  a
• 25:47
  lot
• 25:47
  of
• 25:47
  the
• 25:47
  projects
• 25:48
  like
• 25:50
  that.
• 25:51
  Like
• 25:51
  victims
• 25:52
  of
• 25:53
  childhood,
• 25:53
  victims
• 25:54
  of
• 25:54
  sexual
• 25:55
  and
• 25:55
  like,
• 25:56
  violent
• 25:56
  abuse
• 25:57
  in
• 25:57
  ACT
• 25:57
  in
• 25:57
  Africa.
• 25:58
  That,
• 25:58
  that,
• 25:59
  that
• 26:00
  were
• 26:00
  not
• 26:01
  sexy
• 26:01
  charities
• 26:02
  for
• 26:03
  big
• 26:03
  corporations
• 26:04
  to
• 26:04
  give
• 26:04
  to
• 26:05
  because
• 26:06
  they
• 26:06
  want
• 26:06
  to
• 26:06
  be
• 26:06
  aligned
• 26:07
  with,
• 26:07
  like,
• 26:07
  feel
• 26:08
  good
• 26:08
  kind
• 26:08
  of
• 26:08
  causes.
• 26:09
  Right?
• 26:10
  And
• 26:10
  even
• 26:11
  with
• 26:11
  the
• 26:11
  charitable
• 26:11
  giving,
• 26:12
  like,
• 26:13
  we
• 26:13
  had
• 26:13
  a
• 26:13
  woman
• 26:13
  who
• 26:14
  was
• 26:14
  completely
• 26:14
  dedicated
• 26:15
  to
• 26:15
  going
• 26:15
  in
• 26:15
  all
• 26:16
  those
• 26:16
  places
• 26:16
  and
• 26:16
  making
• 26:16
  sure
• 26:17
  the
• 26:17
  money
• 26:17
  was
• 26:17
  spent
• 26:17
  the
• 26:17
  right
• 26:18
  way
• 26:18
  and
• 26:19
  having
• 26:19
  impact.
• 26:19
  Like,
• 26:20
  we
• 26:20
  were
• 26:20
  completely
• 26:21
  focused
• 26:21
  on
• 26:21
  impact
• 26:21
  and
• 26:22
  making
• 26:23
  sure
• 26:23
  that
• 26:24
  the
• 26:24
  kids
• 26:24
  felt
• 26:24
  that
• 26:25
  they
• 26:25
  were
• 26:25
  having
• 26:25
  impact.
• 26:27
  And
• 26:29
  it
• 26:29
  wasn't
• 26:30
  just
• 26:30
  kind
• 26:31
  of
• 26:31
  like
• 26:32
  corporate
• 26:35
  kind
• 26:35
  of
• 26:35
  good
• 26:36
  washing.
• 26:37
  It
• 26:37
  was
• 26:37
  like.
• 26:38
  And
• 26:38
  I
• 26:39
  think
• 26:39
  that,
• 26:39
  that,
• 26:40
  that's
• 26:40
  another
• 26:40
  example
• 26:41
  of
• 26:41
  a
• 26:41
  place
• 26:42
  where,
• 26:43
  you
• 26:43
  know,
• 26:43
  compared
• 26:44
  to
• 26:44
  the
• 26:44
  rest
• 26:44
  of
• 26:44
  Disney,
• 26:45
  like,
• 26:45
  our
• 26:45
  charitable
• 26:46
  giving
• 26:47
  was
• 26:47
  like,
• 26:48
  light
• 26:48
  years
• 26:49
  ahead
• 26:49
  of
• 26:49
  what
• 26:49
  they
• 26:49
  were
• 26:49
  doing.
• 26:50
  Like,
• 26:50
  Disney
• 26:50
  was
• 26:50
  just
• 26:50
  writing
• 26:51
  money
• 26:51
  to
• 26:52
  politically
• 26:52
  interested
• 26:53
  kind
• 26:54
  of
• 26:54
  NGOs
• 26:54
  and
• 26:54
  stuff
• 26:55
  and
• 26:55
  not
• 26:55
  really
• 26:55
  making
• 26:56
  sure
• 26:56
  if
• 26:56
  it
• 26:56
  was
• 26:56
  being
• 26:56
  spent
• 26:57
  well.
• 26:57
  And,
• 26:57
  you
• 26:58
  know,
• 26:58
  all
• 26:58
  this
• 26:58
  other
• 26:58
  stuff.
• 26:59
  And
• 26:59
  we
• 26:59
  were,
• 26:59
  we
• 26:59
  were
• 27:00
  like,
• 27:00
  on
• 27:00
  top
• 27:00
  of
• 27:00
  it.
• 27:01
  And
• 27:01
  I
• 27:02
  think
• 27:02
  that,
• 27:03
  you
• 27:03
  know,
• 27:04
  there's
• 27:04
  something
• 27:04
  about,
• 27:07
  I've
• 27:07
  gotten
• 27:07
  very
• 27:07
  jaded
• 27:08
  over
• 27:08
  the
• 27:08
  years
• 27:08
  about
• 27:09
  kind
• 27:09
  of
• 27:09
  corporations
• 27:10
  that,
• 27:11
  that
• 27:11
  want
• 27:12
  to
• 27:12
  appear
• 27:13
  to
• 27:13
  be
• 27:13
  doing
• 27:13
  good
• 27:14
  because
• 27:14
  I
• 27:14
  think
• 27:14
  most
• 27:14
  of
• 27:14
  it's
• 27:15
  a
• 27:15
  scam.
• 27:16
  But
• 27:17
  Club
• 27:17
  Penguin
• 27:18
  wasn't.
• 27:18
  And
• 27:19
  I
• 27:19
  think
• 27:19
  there's
• 27:19
  a
• 27:19
  lot
• 27:19
  of
• 27:20
  people
• 27:20
  who
• 27:20
  don't.
• 27:21
  And
• 27:21
  media
• 27:22
  today
• 27:22
  especially
• 27:22
  has
• 27:23
  just
• 27:23
  become
• 27:23
  so
• 27:24
  hard
• 27:24
  and
• 27:24
  cynical
• 27:24
  that
• 27:24
  people
• 27:25
  don't
• 27:25
  believe
• 27:26
  you
• 27:26
  can
• 27:26
  do
• 27:26
  anything
• 27:27
  good.
• 27:27
  But
• 27:27
  you,
• 27:27
  but
• 27:27
  you
• 27:28
  can,
• 27:28
  you
• 27:29
  know,
• 27:29
  if
• 27:29
  that's
• 27:29
  your
• 27:29
  business.
• 27:32
  Okay.
• 27:32
  And
• 27:33
  we're
• 27:33
  going
• 27:33
  to
• 27:33
  leave
• 27:33
  it
• 27:33
  there.
• 27:33
  I
• 27:34
  hope
• 27:34
  you
• 27:34
  enjoyed
• 27:34
  this
• 27:35
  conversation.
• 27:36
  Please
• 27:36
  tune
• 27:37

• 27:37
  next
• 27:37
  week
• 27:37
  for
• 27:38
  the
• 27:38
  second
• 27:38
  half.
• 27:39
  It
• 27:39
  is
• 27:39
  really
• 27:40
  worth
• 27:40
  it,
• 27:41
  as
• 27:41
  ever.
• 27:41
  Please

  you

  two
