  Speaker 2: planet than to help get God's word into every heart, mind,

  Speaker 2: life and home that we can. And that's why we

  Speaker 2: partner with the Bible League. That's why we. We work

  Speaker 2: so hard, so earnestly to get Bibles to people who

  Speaker 2: are asking for them. I know that it's having an

  Speaker 2: impact because there's some grouchy grannies out there that write

  Speaker 2: and you can say, well, that's silly or that's ridiculous.

  Speaker 2: them from asking. And if they're asking and the Bible

  Speaker 2: League International is saying, we'll do everything we can to

  Speaker 2: get them to them. and it costs me five bucks

  Speaker 2: to do it, why not? There is zero to lose

  Speaker 2: on any, it's a win, win, win, win, win, win

  Speaker 4: tell you what does not define the under-resourced church. That

  Speaker 4: does not mean they lack any zeal in their desire

  Speaker 4: to see people come to saving faith. They lack no

  Speaker 4: love for the Lord. They're not asking us to come

  Speaker 4: in and take over. What are they asking for? Really

  Speaker 4: a partner, somebody to come alongside to help them grow

  Speaker 4: their church to the glory of God. And that's where

  Speaker 2: listened and if you've thought to yourself, you know, the
• 7:25
  Speaker 2: Bible has spoken to me at times when I didn't
• 7:28
  Speaker 2: have anywhere else to turn. In fact, and it sounds

  Speaker 2: kind of hokey, and I don't mean for it to,
• 7:35
  Speaker 2: but this year for school, the first day of school,
• 7:40
  Speaker 2: I took my baby daughter, who is starting sixth grade,
• 7:43
  Speaker 2: and I took my middle son, who's starting eighth grade,
• 7:46
  Speaker 2: to the same campus for the first time in a
• 7:48
  Speaker 2: couple of years. And It's not an elementary campus. And
• 7:52
  Speaker 2: so after I prayed with them and dropped them off,
• 7:55
  Speaker 2: and I always say the same thing to them before
• 7:57
  Speaker 2: they get out of the car, be good because that's
• 8:00
  Speaker 2: who Jesus is in you. He gives you the power
• 8:02
  Speaker 2: to do things that are different than you were when
• 8:04
  Speaker 2: you were not regenerated. Be good. And then out of
• 8:07
  Speaker 2: being good, do good for your friends, for your teachers,
• 8:11
  Speaker 2: for the people that you come across. That's my little
• 8:13
  Speaker 2: send off every day. Be good.

  Speaker 4: Do good.

  Speaker 2: But then they got out of the car and they
• 8:18
  Speaker 2: shut the door and I watched them walk in. And
• 8:21
  Speaker 2: this just pang of sadness kind of came over me

  Speaker 2: that summer's over and they're getting older and there's not
• 8:28
  Speaker 2: going to be that many years left that this is
• 8:30
  Speaker 2: all going on. And so what did I do as
• 8:33
  Speaker 2: I drove? And I took the extra long way to
• 8:35
  Speaker 2: get back to the studio, the house today. I put
• 8:39
  Speaker 2: on some audio reminders of the Psalms and in the
• 8:44
  Speaker 2: Psalms where David kind of has the same thing. He
• 8:49
  Speaker 2: talks about something that makes him sad. God, why? He
• 8:52
  Speaker 2: asks all the big questions and then he comforts himself
• 8:55
  Speaker 2: by reminding himself of what God has promised him. So
• 8:59
  Speaker 2: he reminds himself of God's promises. So King David, if
• 9:02
  Speaker 2: King David, who in scripture, there's kind of no parallel,
• 9:07
  Speaker 2: you know, in terms of earthly rulers or people that
• 9:09
  Speaker 2: are significant to the people of Israel, et cetera. If
• 9:12
  Speaker 2: King David found solace in God's word, And if I
• 9:17
  Speaker 2: can find solace in the Psalms on a day when
• 9:20
  Speaker 2: I may be a little blue because my kids are
• 9:22
  Speaker 2: getting older and there's nothing I can stop it. Imagine
• 9:26
  Speaker 2: for a second how much more meaningful the words of
• 9:30
  Speaker 2: Scripture are to those that are undergoing deep poverty today.
• 9:36

  Speaker 4: half a world away. So that's what we're doing today.

  Speaker 4: Well, we've been doing this since 1938, right? That was

  Speaker 4: always the intention of our founders, a couple by the

  Speaker 4: name of William and Betty Chapman, that, you know, we

  Speaker 4: would reach the globe with the gospel. And again, we've
• 13:11
  Speaker 4: been doing that for 88 years now. You know, we're
• 13:14
  Speaker 4: doing that in places where there's war-torn regions, right, where
• 13:19
  Speaker 4: people live remotely. They've never heard the name of Jesus, right?

  Speaker 4: That's where Bible League serves. We're going to places, again,

  Speaker 4: where the light doesn't always pierce the darkness. And so

  Speaker 4: that's been our ministry for, again, almost 90 years. But

  Speaker 4: our minds is the terrible flooding that's been happening right

  Speaker 4: near the border of Tibet and Nepal, right? But again,

  Speaker 4: is doing everything it can to oppose the advance of Christianity.

  Speaker 4: They're jailing pastors. They're destroying churches. No advance notice, no
• 13:55
  Speaker 4: repercussions for those that would do that. And they they
• 13:59
  Speaker 4: attempt to jail those who would who would try to
• 14:02
  Speaker 4: gather for worship. Let me give you a little perspective here.

  Speaker 4: You've got this audio clip. My colleague, Chow, tells us

  Speaker 4: how to pray worship. from an informed perspective, if you will.

  Speaker 4: He's not saying, we're praying for your pity here in China.

  Speaker 4: We're not asking for your protections. He says what? They're

  Speaker 4: praying for the precious word of God.

  Speaker 8: If I have one minute for American brothers and sisters,

  Speaker 8: I just beg them to pray for China, for the

  Speaker 8: supply of the Bibles, and for God, we are opening

  Speaker 8: the door for the Chinese people to have the opportunity

  Speaker 8: to hear.

  Speaker 1: The love of Christ.

  Speaker 4: Chow is telling us what the prayers for what it's

  Speaker 4: the precious word of God for waiting believers. Again, many

  Speaker 4: of these we know by name at Bible League. You know,

  Speaker 4: there's a we estimate 160 million evangelicals in China right now.

  Speaker 4: Forty million of those are registered with what they call
• 14:57
  Speaker 4: this the three self patriotic movement. Kevin, these are churches

  Speaker 4: that register when the with the government. When you do that,
• 15:04
  Speaker 4: they force upon you a sterilized Bible that essentially strips
• 15:07
  Speaker 4: Jesus of his deity. And so these Christians, they've got
• 15:11
  Speaker 4: to have the real thing. Let me tell you how
• 15:13
  Speaker 4: strict the government is in China. In the Yunnan province,
• 15:19
  Speaker 4: this is in southwest China, north of Laos, there's 12,000
• 15:22
  Speaker 4: grid officers. What they do is they monitor 90% of
• 15:26
  Speaker 4: the villages in that province, right? And they report religious
• 15:31
  Speaker 4: activity to the authorities. People have been jailed. Churches have
• 15:34
  Speaker 4: been shut down. I mean, Christians are afraid of their future.
• 15:39
  Speaker 4: And so, you know, think about these flock cameras, right,
• 15:42
  Speaker 4: that are in the news, right? So there's facial recognition.
• 15:45
  Speaker 4: There's data monitoring. And again, that makes it difficult to
• 15:47
  Speaker 4: go online to find a Bible, to be able to,
• 15:50
  Speaker 4: you know, to buy one, to even access, you know,
• 15:54
  Speaker 4: a script of the Bible online. God's at work. I
• 15:58
  Speaker 4: also wanted you to hear this audio clip from my colleague,

  Speaker 4: a woman by the name of Milon. As Bibles reach

  Speaker 4: those empty waiting hands, Kevin, this is what is happening.

  Speaker 4: There's first generation Christians who for the very first time
• 16:12
  Speaker 4: in the history of their family, some of these may
• 16:14
  Speaker 4: be Buddhist or Confucianist, Taoist, you name it, right? These
• 16:19
  Speaker 4: are first generation Christians. This ought to be exciting as
• 16:22
  Speaker 4: Milan talks about what's happening in China.

  Speaker 9: There are about 4 million people who accept Christ each
• 16:28
  Speaker 9: year in China. But the large majority of these Christians
• 16:31
  Speaker 9: do not have a Bible of their very own. For
• 16:33
  Speaker 9: many groups, there is only one Bible for the 10
• 16:36
  Speaker 9: people who attend. There are even some groups that do
• 16:38
  Speaker 9: not have a Bible at all, but they gather to
• 16:41
  Speaker 9: encourage one another with the scriptures they memorize. When these
• 16:44
  Speaker 9: Bibles arrive, There are tears of joy everywhere. This means
• 16:48
  Speaker 9: that families receive a Bible. They are able to begin
• 16:51
  Speaker 9: reading the word of God together. And they are the
• 16:54
  Speaker 9: first to build a legacy of following Christ through reading
• 16:57
  Speaker 9: his word.
• 16:58
  Speaker 4: Yeah, if they don't have a Bible, oftentimes, Kevin, what
• 17:00
  Speaker 4: they do is they memorize it, right? They memorize scriptures.
• 17:03
  Speaker 4: They'll take the Bibles that they have. They'll distribute those
• 17:07
  Speaker 4: and they'll memorize the scriptures. But how much better when
• 17:10
  Speaker 4: you can open up your own Mandarin language Bible, right?
• 17:13
  Speaker 4: Read those precious promises of God. You know, one of
• 17:15
  Speaker 4: those scriptures that comes to mind is Proverbs 3, and
• 17:18
  Speaker 4: it says, don't withhold good from those to whom it
• 17:21
  Speaker 4: is due when it is within your power to act.
• 17:23
  Speaker 4: And again, simple directive from Solomon. When you have the opportunity,
• 17:29
  Speaker 4: come alongside believers like these in Communist China Day. Again,
• 17:33
  Speaker 4: not asking for our pity or for our protection, but
• 17:36
  Speaker 4: for the precious word of God.

  Speaker 4: directs us places, right? In this case, the Bible directs

  Speaker 4: us to all that's true, right? But share this, and

  Speaker 4: She's led 20 to the Lord. She's praying for Spanish

  Speaker 4: language Bibles. And so, you know, Kevin, I can tell

  Speaker 4: you there's a lot of reasons why there's a shortage

  Speaker 4: of Bibles. You know, again, you've covered these corrupt governments,

  Speaker 4: majority religions that pushback, there's remoteness, there's poverty, but really

  Speaker 4: it's God at work, right? Moving so quickly around the

  Speaker 4: world through spiritual awakenings. And again, Christians saying, I've got

  Speaker 4: to wake up to following the Lord, right? It's created

  Speaker 2: There's nothing available for them to receive. Other places, it's
• 52:07
  Speaker 2: spiritual persecution. People that just don't want the church to succeed.

  Speaker 2: like drug cartels and terrorists and people that have reasons
• 52:16
  Speaker 2: for keeping people mentally and spiritually kind of off kilter
• 52:21
  Speaker 2: so that they can control them for purposes that they have,
• 52:24
  Speaker 2: which are not good purposes. Sometimes it's direct government persecution
• 52:28
  Speaker 2: where the government is maybe of one faith, but it
• 52:32
  Speaker 2: does not recognize the Christian faith. And in fact, it
• 52:34
  Speaker 2: says that the Christian faith is the faith of the infidel.
• 52:37
  Speaker 2: And because of that, they are very harsh against the
• 52:40
  Speaker 2: giving of Bibles to people that might want them Whatever
• 52:43
  Speaker 2: the cause, none of them are a good enough reason
• 52:49
  Speaker 2: to not give people Bibles that are asking for them.

  Speaker 2: And so 88 years ago, an organization called Bible League said, well,

  Speaker 2: let's just see if we can do something about that.

  Speaker 2: And a very humble beginning, 88 years ago, they started

  Speaker 2: giving Bibles to those who needed them. And what they

  Speaker 2: discovered was that around the world, millions and millions of

  Speaker 2: people need copies of the scripture, want copies of the scripture.

  Speaker 4: He's a former animus, now a believer, praying for a Bible.

  Speaker 4: Essie is a 70-year-old widow, a former animus, now a

  Speaker 4: baby Christian at age 70, and then Tomas' wife. And

  Speaker 4: their children want to follow the ways of the Lord.

  Speaker 4: They're praying for a Bible. So, Kevin, there is this

  Speaker 4: significant need all over the world, certainly the continent of Africa.
