- 0:27Speaker 1: Football it's just another Football Monday.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I got Jimmy Reno here.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Football, football Monday.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to go over a lot.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We re-watched the FSU game.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The FSU win, the FSU win, man yeah, 14-9 over California.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It was a nice full slate of NFL action yesterday.
- 0:47Speaker 1: We're going to go over that and the rest of college football from Saturday.
- 0:53Speaker 1: What stood out the most, who's got work to do?
- 0:58Speaker 1: And then we're going to look forward to next week, in particular, florida State's first road trip to Dallas To play Southern Methodist University on the ACC Network.
- 1:17Speaker 1: All right, yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So if you haven't done so, hit that like button, hit that subscribe button, get on board the shuttle.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Why shuttle?
- 1:34Speaker 1: Well, because that's where we get on board when we gotta leave man.
- 1:38Speaker 1: When the ride's here, it's a shuttle, alright, shuttle, all right.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Oh, man, pretty tired today, but it's a Monday, we're here.
- 2:04Speaker 1: We're here to react to this long weekend of football.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Let's start in Tallahassee, where the Seminoles pulled off the shocking 14-9 win.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Just an absolute thrilling game to watch.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I mean I was on the edge of my seat, but it was only because I was falling asleep and almost fell off the couch.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Right, big to get a win, yeah it is big to get a win.
- 2:37Speaker 1: The defense played well.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Looking back, at it what's the first thing that stands out to you?
- 2:42Speaker 2: They played more like the defense.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Kind of looks like what I thought we would see against Georgia Tech and Boston College.
- 2:48Speaker 2: You know, cal is Cal.
- 2:52Speaker 2: They're not world beaters, but this was their year.
- 2:57Speaker 2: They had a really senior-laden team.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They went into Jordan-Hare and beat Auburn, which isn't really a.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Thing.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I mean it's not saying anything, but when we're sitting at 0-3, I'll take any kind of feather in the cap.
- 3:09Speaker 1: we can get the performance out of the defense was inspiring to see.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you saw the guys that have talent.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They made plays and then some of the young guys that may be good made plays and actually you saw the effort there.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah that was good to see.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I mean, oh far have we come, and we're happy about a 14-9 win.
- 3:38Speaker 2: But I was ecstatic man.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it was going to be a loss.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be a loss.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie, I thought it was going to be a loss.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Well, they got their running back back Jaden Ott, and he's a really explosive player.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I don't know if we have played a guy like that, but they did a really good job keeping him bottled up for the most part.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah, that stood out.
- 4:01Speaker 1: His biggest run was 23 yards, but the offense sucks.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Oh my God, it's just hard to watch what's up, man.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Why does it suck so bad?
- 4:15Speaker 1: I know Roy Williams was out.
- 4:19Speaker 2: That's not the reason, Nah dude.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Are we calling the right plays?
- 4:23Speaker 1: I mean, he's calling the plays.
- 4:28Speaker 2: They're calling the plays that they've called the past two seasons.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So it's execution.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Well, it's execution.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It's the fact that you had a quarterback back there.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Those plays may have worked because you had a guy that was really good at escaping pressure and something like that, something like Jordan Travis' ability to keep plays alive.
- 4:50Speaker 2: That can't be something that you expect to recruit in a quarterback.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Every time you sign a kid, you've got to have an offensive line.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That's the bottom line.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Which they played a little bit better they did.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Especially in the beginning of the game.
- 5:03Speaker 2: They did, they did.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I think everybody around DJ played well enough for the offense to do a little bit better and he's just slow.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I just don't think he can do so.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, is it processing?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Is it just confidence Processing?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Being comfortable?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Because when he is comfortable, in that rare occasion where he can relax and let it fly Right.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You saw, what it was.
- 5:26Speaker 2: It looks great.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And I think that's kind of him.
- 5:29Speaker 1: In a nutshell, this is what you get.
- 5:31Speaker 1: You know you're going to get majority.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yeah, he's the same guy he was when he was a freshman at Clemson.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Unless you have blue chips all around Right.
- 5:40Speaker 2: They had a.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Really they had a powerful running game and great receivers and that defense and you know, and around him, right, they had a powerful running game and great receivers and that defense and he still lost games.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Exactly, I just think between the ears he's probably just there's some kind of disconnect he still threw a beautiful touchdown pass, he won games at Oregon.
- 6:00Speaker 1: State, and that's what you're going to need to keep happening.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You got to build on that.
- 6:03Speaker 1: He had a really bad interception, though, and that just was at the worst time, right, and that's something like it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: That's what you don't want to see.
- 6:11Speaker 1: You want to see him smart.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Had Brock Glenn thrown the interception, people would have been like all right, that's why they've been keeping him on the bench because he made that decision right there.
- 6:20Speaker 2: That right there is coming from a guy that's been in college for five years.
- 6:23Speaker 1: That's a bad interception at a bad time in the game it was.
- 6:26Speaker 1: You know you're about to take over that game and I know you want to score, but you're in scoring position and you're already up seven to nothing.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I mean, you could actually, in the way the defense is playing you're at home, you could take control.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But it just allowed Cal to get right into the game.
- 6:44Speaker 1: It made it come down right to the end.
- 6:48Speaker 2: It just started the ugliness.
- 6:49Speaker 2: It's just kind of what this team is going to be this year.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Just when you think, hey, look what's going on 7-0.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And then for the rest of the game they sucked.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Pretty much, barring a few plays, and one was a touchdown pass to Chakaia Douglas.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Right, that was a nice one.
- 7:05Speaker 2: You know, there was a huge drop by Morlock again.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a big drop on a second and three.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Dj kind of went back into his yeah on a second and three after a seven-yard gain and to his shell for a while he missed Benson wide open.
- 7:20Speaker 1: That was him.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I hope they keep running that, though I Wide open.
- 7:24Speaker 1: That was him.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I hope they keep running that, though.
- 7:25Speaker 1: I mean, if it's, I want them to run more deep balls, we have to throw the ball deep.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So you're not to run the ball which they were able to do a little bit earlier.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked a little bit better.
- 7:37Speaker 2: They actually ran some quick running plays.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I don't know, man, I don't know, I just some of the stuff that they ran like last year.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Those are touchdowns, because you had a guy that could Not looking good, though yeah, could buy that extra second.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Possibly two of your biggest weapons on offense, and roido williams and lucas yeah already and now roido williams he's not going to play for a while at least right he's.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He's going to be out for, you know, extended period or whatever they say, so you're gonna have to rely on your young guy, and that's cam davis.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Uh, he had seven carries for 25 yards.
- 8:18Speaker 1: He shows signs, but what about the way he runs?
- 8:21Speaker 1: What?
- 8:22Speaker 2: well, he's just gotta.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You know you're not gonna be more smart about just his angles, because it looks like he's trying to just wreck everything well, yeah, I mean, you know he's a physical runner, he is, he's still 225.
- 8:36Speaker 2: um, you just gotta kind of.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I think he's just got to get used to the fact that they're going to hit harder man.
- 8:41Speaker 2: The safeties coming down are going to be able to knock you out now.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Right, you saw that happen.
- 8:46Speaker 2: It kind of just rung him up a little bit but he came back in and he ran really really nicely.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Man Tough yards there late, right before the Ja'Kai Douglas touchdown pass.
- 8:55Speaker 2: That's kind of how they set it up.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Well, he had seven carries told.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Philly had 17 um and then singleton had two yeah, I mean you.
- 9:06Speaker 2: You know they're gonna have to figure.
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'd like to see a little bit more singleton now.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I think you will moving forward now that you know that roydale's out.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But who knows jakai get back in the backfield for a couple plays, ending around and stuff.
- 9:22Speaker 1: The offense man.
- 9:23Speaker 2: God, but still, I mean, it's just it is.
- 9:26Speaker 2: No, some guys made some big catches, just not.
- 9:33Speaker 2: You know, finishing drives is something this team just cannot seem to put together in the same game.
- 9:40Speaker 2: You know, defense able to get off the field, the offense can't get anything together, oh yeah.
- 9:46Speaker 1: The offense is what is it?
- 9:50Speaker 1: Let's analyze what exactly has been working for it.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Let's analyze what's been working for us.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Analyze what's been working for us.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Not a goddamn thing's been working for us yeah, nothing.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Nothing, nothing, pretty much, it just it's man.
- 10:14Speaker 1: So it was a win, though.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a win.
- 10:16Speaker 2: The defense looked good.
- 10:18Speaker 1: But then you look at your opponent next week and I know it's a different opponent, but they put a 60-burger on TCU.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah, tcu is bad, right, sonny?
- 10:29Speaker 1: Dice got tossed from the game.
- 10:31Speaker 1: They also lost to BYU, but there's a team that's going to try to score.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Right, it's the same kind of.
- 10:34Speaker 2: I mean, you know, if you remember Rhett Lashley from Miami, it's going to be in the shotgun every play.
- 10:39Speaker 2: They're going to run that draw play a bunch.
- 10:43Speaker 2: He just runs that halfback iso over and over again and then they'll just take shots down the field.
- 10:48Speaker 2: I expect to see their quarterback run it a bunch.
- 10:54Speaker 2: He's fast but he is tiny.
- 10:55Speaker 2: So if you can get a hat on him, if you can hit can, this is a not the guy they started the year with either no, no, they pulled him preston stone was pulled for this kid.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Um, I, I don't know man, I mean, he's decent enough to give fsu problems, but like I don't, if we had any kind of offense at all, I'd say that this is a game they probably, probably win.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Big game next week is Georgia Alabama.
- 11:25Speaker 1: That's what everybody's talking about.
- 11:27Speaker 1: That's going to be in Tuscaloosa.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Texas is still your number one team, georgia number two, ohio State three, alabama four, ole Miss five, tennessee now six.
- 11:40Speaker 1: They had the big win in Oklahoma, pretty much shut down, which you know.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I'll say this Like I watched the first part of that game and Oklahoma's offense with Jackson Arnold looked about as bad as Florida State's.
- 11:54Speaker 2: They just couldn't do anything.
- 11:57Speaker 2: And they bring the freshman in and all of a sudden they have life and they almost came back and made it interesting in that game.
- 12:06Speaker 1: They didn't quit.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Tennessee came out and really laid the hammer on them.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Tennessee looks good this year.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Missouri maybe a little overrated.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They escaped a close one with Vanderbilt.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Miami messed around with USF who does mess around?
- 12:22Speaker 1: They'll play you hard.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Right for about a half.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they just put the clamps on them.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yeah, they can't run with those receivers.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Man, I'm telling you man Cam Ward, he's on his way.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's dangerous offense, man he is on his way.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Uh-oh, something's happening on his way.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Dangerous offense man.
- 12:38Speaker 1: He is on his way.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Uh-oh, something's happening on the phone.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I don't like that Unrealized idea, unrealized.
- 12:52Speaker 1: That was the idea of FSU winning like 10 games.
- 12:57Speaker 1: It was unrealized idea, unrealized.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And then it's now.
- 13:02Speaker 1: You know, I've convinced myself that they won't win.
- 13:05Speaker 1: But how many games this year?
- 13:08Speaker 1: What's a realistic expectation?
- 13:11Speaker 2: I mean at this point.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Two seems like the thing, the bottom right.
- 13:15Speaker 2: What was that?
- 13:16Speaker 1: Seven and five at best is what you said.
- 13:19Speaker 2: That's what I go in baseline.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you said I mean, I think you really meant that, and well, I just nobody was really.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I got it.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I got more and more pessimistic as as we got closer to the season it just.
- 13:30Speaker 1: You know I would take seven and five all day and that would be a dream season, right, if that happened from the results now.
- 13:38Speaker 2: But it would mean that you would have to like find an identity on offense and honestly, that's, that's.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Who is it?
- 13:46Speaker 2: I think that's probably what's making it even worse for people.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Is not just the fact that you're losing.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It's that you look so horrible when you're losing yes, like if we were losing shootouts and the offense is lighting up the but, you know, but it's just, it's agonizing to try to watch the offense.
- 14:03Speaker 1: you know, go through those lulls for like two quarters at a time yeah before they have any kind of positive plays I don't like the uniform that dj wears, with his pants all hiked up.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I don't know where that came from.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I just it's like dude, come on, man, who the hell you think you are?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Just somebody comfortable?
- 14:21Speaker 1: Do something else, because maybe that's not.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Maybe you need to wear traditional pants yeah, I I don't man, I I he just like a freaking my personal take stand out like a sore thumb because you suck he now you look like you suck.
- 14:33Speaker 1: He will be glad when, when his football career is not a thing anymore.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I think, I think he's ready for the next phase of his life.
- 14:41Speaker 2: There's no, he has no interest in getting hit by defenders.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You know, that's uh that's what you saw in that pick.
- 14:50Speaker 2: It's you saw all game right.
- 14:52Speaker 2: You know on the read options on him trying to get you know three or four yards.
- 14:56Speaker 2: You know he does not want to get hit right, all right.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Well, uh, college football we get.
- 15:04Speaker 1: We touched on that.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Let's go to the nfl real quick before we scramble out of here what stood out yesterday.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I mean I know you're niners, man, goodness gracious, that was a fun game.
- 15:13Speaker 1: And I guess, man, I mean I didn't, I didn't get to watch any of it.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I was just kind of following it on the phone, oh man back and forth.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yeah, the defense is horrible, but you can only have so many different defenses coordinators and keep having these great defenses.
- 15:29Speaker 2: You know you had Solly, you had Tameko, ryans and even Wilks was okay for the first part of the season, but this defense is just not good.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, seahawks, look for real.
- 15:43Speaker 2: So this might be the year the 49ers miss the playoffs, but what stood out the most was the Panthers winning man Yep.
- 15:50Speaker 1: How bad they just whooped them.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I mean, Andy Dalton looked like Joe Montana out there.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Just dropping dimes dude Like right there.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Just got to be the ultimate ego killer for.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Bryce Young Right, he's done.
- 16:08Speaker 2: What else?
- 16:08Speaker 2: What else Saints getting handled by the Eagles?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Saints got shut down.
- 16:12Speaker 1: That offense got put back to reality.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Vikings look good.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Vikings are for real.
- 16:18Speaker 1: They have to be the surprise team of the year so far when it comes to expectation.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And now who they really are, because they look like a juggernaut.
- 16:29Speaker 1: They look like one of the final four teams.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yeah, you're sitting there.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And why did we draft JJ McCarthy again?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Well, he's playing well, and the defense is playing well too, and they just completely shut down Houston.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I mean, they blew them out 34-7.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that was surprising, and they've beaten the Niners now and they've taken care of the Texans.
- 16:53Speaker 1: So this and what you thought would be the Packers and the Lions and the NFC Central, which you know it's still extremely early.
- 17:05Speaker 1: That division looks really tough with those three teams right there, because the packers look good yeah, they're winning games without jordan love right and uh and two quarterbacks, steelers are winning games with justin
- 17:22Speaker 1: yeah, justin fields and malik willis both look like, wow, another.
- 17:26Speaker 1: A change of scenery and a change of coaching has changed everything, because they both look like completely different quarterbacks.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and there seems to be a trend of that.
- 17:36Speaker 1: You know, you see these young guys coming in and everybody throwing everything at them and with these rookie deals, I mean you better watch it.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to pay these guys when you can get a guy who is more experienced, still has something to prove at a way cheaper rate and you're going to see that.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I really believe it.
- 17:59Speaker 1: When you see the way that Sam Darnold got picked up for basically nothing in terms of these quarterback salaries and the production he's giving them, you're going to see guys get more chances down the line.
- 18:10Speaker 1: So Bryce Young will get another chance, even though I said he wouldn't because somebody will want to give it a run, but he probably won't take long.
- 18:22Speaker 2: He may not get a chance at starting again.
- 18:24Speaker 1: The Chiefs they just figure out ways to win Right.
- 18:27Speaker 2: It's called don't get penalized for obvious passing chances.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true, stuff like that.
- 18:33Speaker 1: They have a really good defense.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Chris Jones is for real Right.
- 18:36Speaker 2: But they figured out.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Kelsey, they figured that out.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I'm just.
- 18:41Speaker 2: You know, throw the flag man, call the games Right.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It's just, I'm not saying that's why they win Super Bowls, but it certainly helps.
- 18:52Speaker 2: You know, home field advantage, whatnot?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Georgia Tech, that juggernaut that I told you about.
- 19:01Speaker 1: They lost.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah, as we jump back, jump back to college.
- 19:06Speaker 2: No, biggest shocker out of the acc is how just god awful north carolina looks oh yeah, we forgot to touch on that.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Uh, james madison had over 50 points at half at half.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Come on, mac.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's, that's embarrassing.
- 19:25Speaker 2: They're on quarterback number three now.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I think they've gone to some.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I don't know man, I didn't.
- 19:29Speaker 2: You know we play him later in the.
- 19:30Speaker 2: That's embarrassing.
- 19:30Speaker 2: They're on quarterback number three now.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I think They've gone to somebody.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I don't know man, you know we play him later in the season.
- 19:34Speaker 2: He's never beaten Florida State, his old school.
- 19:37Speaker 2: That game looks more winnable.
- 19:39Speaker 1: It does.
- 19:40Speaker 1: There's a couple conference games that look winnable.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Smu I know they put up a lot.
- 19:48Speaker 1: People were more scared of them before the year, I think Also they were a lot more.
- 19:52Speaker 1: These are both teams that probably are overrated us more, way more.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so we'll find out.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I think it's going to be a good thing for this team to get on the road.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Just get away from home man, go, go play where you're the villain.
- 20:12Speaker 2: You don't have any pressure because everybody hates you already, so just go play football well, I mean how, what does it say?
- 20:24Speaker 1: what does it say for the quarterbacks coming in?
- 20:26Speaker 1: You know, if DJ gives us the best chance to win?
- 20:34Speaker 2: I don't, I mean, I'm not going to just go ahead and say that.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I mean I'm not going to just blindly accept that Mike Norvell is you know, playing the guy that gives you the best chance to win.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I think he's just doing what he's determined to do, right Predetermined, yeah, yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I don't even know if he would have benched McKenzie Milton if he hadn't had to, if the kid's leg wasn't going to fall off if he kept playing.
- 21:00Speaker 2: And then Jordan Travis kind of flipped the switch on.
- 21:03Speaker 2: We were 0-4.
- 21:04Speaker 2: He beat.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Syracuse Keeps building off that.
- 21:09Speaker 1: It's just it really was incredible.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:12Speaker 1: That run.
- 21:12Speaker 1: But that's you know, that's what it was.
- 21:15Speaker 1: It was through the mud, you know.
- 21:18Speaker 1: So we're back in the mud and you got to fight out of it and hopefully we'll see some signs of life here.
- 21:24Speaker 1: You got to find something.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean at.
- 21:29Speaker 2: At this point, I'd like to just see brock lynn play football, you know, like he hadn't gotten a single snap.
- 21:33Speaker 2: There's been plenty of opportunities to put him in the game, um, even for a series.
- 21:42Speaker 1: You know, it's whatever, dude, I, I, I don't know yeah well, I go on and on about that, your bears lost one to the colts, we'll go back to the nfl the cardinals.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I was wrong about that one.
- 21:55Speaker 1: The lion shut them down the hook and ladder in that game.
- 21:58Speaker 1: That was a really beautiful play, but what I thought would be a shootout should have took in the under there.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Uh, 20 to 13.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Game of the day was was the Rams with the field goal late over the Niners, although they should have won.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Brock Purdy played well.
- 22:12Speaker 1: If the guy catches it, they win.
- 22:15Speaker 1: They don't have to punt the ball.
- 22:17Speaker 2: It's kind of the story of Kyle Shanahan's career.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I wanted to focus on one of my guys, one of my favorite players ever at FAMU.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Xavier Smith.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Balled out for the Rams Got the game ball after what, what have?
- 22:31Speaker 2: that punt.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Return is what did it yeah, I mean, it won the game and we told you, man, this guy's a player, he's not, he's a five foot, nothing, 100, nothing.
- 22:42Speaker 1: But he's got the heart of a bear and he'll catch the damn ball.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And he makes plays on the ball and he makes plays over and over again to see him catch the damn ball.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And he makes plays on the ball and he makes plays over and over again To see him get the game ball from Super Bowl winning head coach Sean McVay.
- 22:55Speaker 1: That was one of the bright spots of my football weekend.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Cowboys yeah, they can't stop the run, they are who?
- 23:07Speaker 2: they are, they suck, they're are who they are, they suck, they're exactly who they thought they were yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Dolphins suck without Tua.
- 23:15Speaker 1: They're not that good with him, but they're really bad without him, because he was playing better.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I got two on tonight.
- 23:28Speaker 1: you got those.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Tonight, Other than gambling, you got the North Florida team, the Jags, who have been another disappointing team.
- 23:39Speaker 1: You know this is a team that was picked by many to win that division and they're just not coming up with the plays they need and it's not going to get any easier as they're going to Western.
- 23:51Speaker 2: New York.
- 23:51Speaker 2: They need them to win now.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, though, man, I don't think it's.
- 23:56Speaker 1: And then you got the commanders going to Cincinnati.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 1: All right.
- 24:00Speaker 1: So there it is.
- 24:01Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 24:03Speaker 1: We got to get on out of here.
- 24:07Speaker 1: The ride's here.
- 24:07Speaker 1: One and three, one and three, one and three.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Could have been on four.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it could have been on four.
- 24:19Speaker 2: You got seasons.
- 24:20Speaker 2: What a third over Yep.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I think you know what I'll go, that we go one and three.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Three times.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Three times.
- 24:27Speaker 2: We're going to finish three and nine.
- 24:30Speaker 1: You know, that seems fair.
- 24:32Speaker 2: That's terrible.
- 24:33Speaker 2: He'll equal his win total from his first season as a coach oh, this has got to be one of the games that you have a chance to win, man.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you know.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Because the way Clemson looked I don't see that yeah, dude, no when.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Colstout if he can throw it Moffa, running it Clemson we don't have.
- 24:52Speaker 1: They handled us last year pretty well.
- 24:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 1: And if it wasn't for a heroic performance on defense by Kalen DeVos, one of the all-time great defensive plays of all Florida State history you know.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:05Speaker 1: And the great play of George and Travis and Keon Coleman, just to squeak out a win in Death Valley.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Oh man, I think they're coming for blood down here.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, they'll blow us out.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Miami will blow us out.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Trying to think of who else we can play.
- 25:23Speaker 1: So you're going to have to get this one.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe UNC Come on.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We'll have a few that we might have a shot.
- 25:31Speaker 2: You know like Q's and teams like that, but three and nine seems doable.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Matter of fact, I'll be pissed if he doesn't go three and nine.
- 25:42Speaker 1: You got to go to the bowl, man, I'm still holding on, I know, but, man, I'm telling you the expectations for this team are way off.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And I don't think they're playing well.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I don't think they're playing well, but even at their best.
- 25:53Speaker 1: They're not.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Nobody needs to get off the hook.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Nick Saban sitting there talking about the.
- 25:58Speaker 2: You know I've heard him try to walk that shit back in recent weeks Like what Relying on the transfer portal and whatnot that sucks.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Well, he's a hurt talking head now, yeah he works for you.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Yeah, he's part of the rap league.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Right, he got a playoff spot and then he got a job.
- 26:20Speaker 1: So they own the damn sport.
- 26:23Speaker 1: So they own him.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Now, like I said, that sucks.
- 26:28Speaker 1: We got a lot of football to look forward to and we got NFL picks Thursday and we'll talk to you then, right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
