- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zam today Kennannie Stephen, Harry, Brian Sexton
- 0:19Speaker 1: and John Oser and a frustrating loss in Houston. What
- 0:23Speaker 1: was a huge divisional matchup for the Jaguars as they
- 0:26Speaker 1: blow a twenty nine to ten lead in the fourth quarter,
- 0:28Speaker 1: as the Texans battle all the way back and they
- 0:31Speaker 1: get a win. So let's go over our big things
- 0:33Speaker 1: from me yesterday. There's a lot to go over today,
- 0:35Speaker 1: brought to you by GEHA, Government Employees Health Association Benefits
- 0:38Speaker 1: for federal employees and retiree zero is big thing number one.
- 0:42Speaker 1: There was no resistance from the defense in that fourth
- 0:45Speaker 1: quarter as the Texans just imposed their will on offense,
- 0:48Speaker 1: driving up and down the field and scoring twenty six
- 0:50Speaker 1: unanswered points to win the game. William Cohen talked a
- 0:54Speaker 1: little bit about the non existence pass rush and some
- 0:56Speaker 1: of the issues on defense.
- 0:58Speaker 2: The whole message was to squeeze the life out of
- 1:01Speaker 2: these guys in the second half and go take it,
- 1:05Speaker 2: go take it. And it's been a frustration for a
- 1:09Speaker 2: while now, obviously the combination of lack of getting to
- 1:14Speaker 2: the quarterback and when we do finishing it. But it
- 1:19Speaker 2: definitely needs to continue to get evaluated and see who
- 1:22Speaker 2: can help us do those things too.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Brian pass rush has been a problem, but just the
- 1:26Speaker 1: defense as a whole, kind of letting the text and
- 1:28Speaker 1: dictate that whole fourth quarter.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, we knew that the Jaguars had to help
- 1:33Speaker 3: a beleaguered secondary. You were playing without Travis Hunter, who's
- 1:36Speaker 3: your best corner, and Jordan Lewis, who's been the glue
- 1:39Speaker 3: that's held that secondary together. Both of the safeties that
- 1:41Speaker 3: you intended to start the season with are an injured reserve.
- 1:44Speaker 3: You needed the pass rush and John The story all
- 1:46Speaker 3: week had been that the Jaguars pass rush against the
- 1:49Speaker 3: Texans in September was the reason in large part that
- 1:53Speaker 3: they won that game. Two backups, a rookie left tackle
- 1:56Speaker 3: and they got zero nothing now credit on a play
- 2:01Speaker 3: where it appeared that the penalty on Jerry Jones was
- 2:04Speaker 3: bogus right, It looked like he had made a good
- 2:07Speaker 3: play hand fighting with Christian Kirk down the field. All
- 2:10Speaker 3: they needed was one play, one play that may have
- 2:14Speaker 3: changed the fourth quarter and stopped the Texans momentum. But
- 2:17Speaker 3: they couldn't even get one.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that's what's most frustrating. Until that fourth quarter.
- 2:22Speaker 4: The Texans hadn't done anything offensively really all year, so
- 2:26Speaker 4: it's got to be frustrating for people watching it. There
- 2:29Speaker 4: were moments where they got pressure the Jaguars. The problem
- 2:33Speaker 4: right now is not that individuals aren't getting it. Josh Allen,
- 2:37Speaker 4: Josh Heines Allen talks all the time about pass rush
- 2:40Speaker 4: being a collective. When guys would get pressure, there was
- 2:42Speaker 4: nothing there to help. There wasn't enough. Maybe they wore down,
- 2:47Speaker 4: I don't know, but it was twenty four dropbacks in
- 2:53Speaker 4: the fourth quarter and no sacks and you couldn't get
- 2:55Speaker 4: him off the field. So not good enough.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, half of the Texans plays thirty three are close
- 3:00Speaker 1: to thirty three of their sixty nine were in the
- 3:02Speaker 1: fourth quarter. So the defense was on the field a
- 3:04Speaker 1: ton too. Our big thing number two is one because
- 3:08Speaker 1: the offense didn't help much out in the fourth quarter.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Either went three and out, three and out and then
- 3:11Speaker 1: three and a sack strip sack fumble that ended that
- 3:15Speaker 1: being a touchdown. So Trevor Lawrence talked a little bit
- 3:18Speaker 1: about the frustration of not putting that game away.
- 3:21Speaker 3: You know, give all the credit to them there.
- 3:22Speaker 5: They are really good defense. So they made some plays
- 3:26Speaker 5: today where you know, good good defense, good teams are
- 3:29Speaker 5: gonna make plays. But also feel like we left some
- 3:31Speaker 5: stuff out there that we had some opportunities and we
- 3:34Speaker 5: just have to be better and make those moving forward.
- 3:36Speaker 5: We need them. You know. We got to play better offensively,
- 3:39Speaker 5: We've got to move the ball better.
- 3:40Speaker 3: We got to score more.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Had a lot of short fields today and we just
- 3:44Speaker 5: got to take advantage of that and be able to,
- 3:46Speaker 5: you know, put a team away when you got them.
- 3:47Speaker 5: You got them down that much, and you got to
- 3:49Speaker 5: be able to finish and put the game away.
- 3:52Speaker 1: John, The defense allowed the points to be scored, but
- 3:54Speaker 1: the offense couldn't get a first down, They couldn't run
- 3:56Speaker 1: any clock.
- 3:57Speaker 6: In the fourth quarter.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know when this kind of game happens,
- 4:01Speaker 4: all my inboxes Trevor this, Trevor that. And I don't
- 4:04Speaker 4: know if he played that great, but it looked in
- 4:08Speaker 4: the fourth quarter like the pass rush was getting home
- 4:12Speaker 4: way too fast on him. You're down, like Brian talked
- 4:16Speaker 4: about the secondary, you're down your top three receivers entering
- 4:19Speaker 4: training camp and you're down to Parker Washington and a
- 4:22Speaker 4: lot of guys who were just called up. It's such
- 4:28Speaker 4: a league of moments, right, Brian Yep. At the very
- 4:31Speaker 4: end of the game, they had Parker Washington clearing on
- 4:34Speaker 4: a huge play and the one area where the Blitz
- 4:37Speaker 4: can get home got home and Trevor had to run
- 4:39Speaker 4: the other end of the game play they had a
- 4:41Speaker 4: play to Parker Washington would have put Cam Little in range.
- 4:44Speaker 4: All of a sudden, a penalty, all those things were
- 4:46Speaker 4: not talking about OUs. We're talking about what a great victory,
- 4:48Speaker 4: but it was. It was just all around. I guess
- 4:52Speaker 4: I don't quite know how to analyze this one because
- 4:55Speaker 4: there was so much in so many moments soever on well, I.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Want to I want to give them credit to Trevor.
- 5:00Speaker 3: The stats say and the results say that he was
- 5:03Speaker 3: middle of the pack average yesterday. But there were a
- 5:05Speaker 3: couple of moments. Remember when Jarion Jones knocked the ball
- 5:09Speaker 3: away at the end of the third quarter and the
- 5:11Speaker 3: Jaguars had it right there at their own forty two
- 5:14Speaker 3: yard line with a minute twenty nine to play in
- 5:16Speaker 3: the third. Okay, here's your moment, right, here's a chance
- 5:19Speaker 3: for you to go and essentially put the game away.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I thought if you went up twenty nine to ten,
- 5:25Speaker 3: not that I knew they were going to miss the
- 5:26Speaker 3: two point conversion, but I thought another touchdown would have
- 5:28Speaker 3: done it, and he did it. And on that drive
- 5:31Speaker 3: he was under intense pressure and he got outside the
- 5:33Speaker 3: pocket and he threw the ball to Johnny Munt, who
- 5:35Speaker 3: made a play. Johnny Munt, the third tight end who's
- 5:38Speaker 3: been unimpressive this season. Then a little bit later on
- 5:41Speaker 3: that drive, he threw an absolute beautiful strike to Austin
- 5:44Speaker 3: Trammel at the sixteen yard line, which helped set up
- 5:48Speaker 3: the touchdown run. He made some plays to give his
- 5:51Speaker 3: team a chance to win the game. And then as
- 5:54Speaker 3: you just mentioned there is with a strike to Parker
- 5:57Speaker 3: Washington that sets up a sixty one yard field goal
- 6:00Speaker 3: attempt to win the ball game. By the way, that's
- 6:03Speaker 3: in your kickers range. He did enough at the end
- 6:07Speaker 3: to find a way to win the game. Was he perfect?
- 6:09Speaker 5: No?
- 6:10Speaker 3: Was he better than average? Probably not? But it wasn't
- 6:13Speaker 3: all on Trevor Lawrence.
- 6:15Speaker 6: No.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I think that I'll get bet my hot take today,
- 6:17Speaker 1: but plenty of blame here. Our final big thing today
- 6:20Speaker 1: is gonna be two and three. If there's one player
- 6:22Speaker 1: that can probably go to sleep last night and know
- 6:24Speaker 1: they played well, that's Parker Washington had two touchdowns on
- 6:28Speaker 1: the day. He had a punt return for touchdown. That's
- 6:30Speaker 1: his third career punt return touchdown, and talked a little
- 6:33Speaker 1: bit about what he saw on that second touchdown.
- 6:36Speaker 7: The very first punt return, I was upset that I
- 6:39Speaker 7: got tackled cause that debsoutely a big one too, So
- 6:43Speaker 7: we got another opportunity. I caught it. I just saw
- 6:46Speaker 7: a whole bunch of guys and I was like, let's
- 6:48Speaker 7: make a miss, Let's make a mom mixtend out for
- 6:51Speaker 7: the funner. And it was cool to make a play,
- 6:53Speaker 7: but like, we fell short, but we're gonna come back
- 6:57Speaker 7: and respond.
- 6:57Speaker 1: To Brian, I shut her to think what that game
- 7:00Speaker 1: would have looked like without Parker Washington in it, because
- 7:02Speaker 1: he was most, if not all, of the bright spots
- 7:05Speaker 1: in that game. And after a tremendous training camp from
- 7:08Speaker 1: what we saw from him, to come and now actually
- 7:10Speaker 1: have this time to shine it.
- 7:11Speaker 6: I'm thankful for him for sure.
- 7:12Speaker 3: You know, I shud here to think about what this
- 7:15Speaker 3: season might look like without Parker Washington. Yeah, I know
- 7:17Speaker 3: he had the drops in Los Angeles, partner in London
- 7:20Speaker 3: against Los Angeles. I've covered every game this team has
- 7:23Speaker 3: ever played. He is the best punt returner that this
- 7:25Speaker 3: team has ever had, by the way. The numbers back
- 7:27Speaker 3: that up. He's got two in a single season, which
- 7:29Speaker 3: is a Jaguars record. He's got three now for his career,
- 7:32Speaker 3: which breaks the record that he held with Reggie Barlow.
- 7:34Speaker 3: But he just has that pension for delivering a big
- 7:38Speaker 3: play when this team needs it, whether you're asking him
- 7:40Speaker 3: to catch a ball over a much taller corner and
- 7:43Speaker 3: get his feet down in the back of the end zone,
- 7:45Speaker 3: or to make a play on special teams when you
- 7:48Speaker 3: need to flip the field and flip momentum. And he's
- 7:50Speaker 3: done it. By the way, he should have three this season.
- 7:53Speaker 3: There was one callback on a penalty in that game
- 7:56Speaker 3: against London, and I'm going to guess that he's going
- 7:59Speaker 3: to have another opportunit unity to do that this year
- 8:01Speaker 3: and to maybe get his third.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yeah, he's been remarkable. I mean it. He he comes
- 8:06Speaker 4: into training camp as the fourth receiver Ota has forgotten,
- 8:09Speaker 4: and then you guys were out there every practice You're like,
- 8:14Speaker 4: it need the best way, it need the best wide
- 8:16Speaker 4: receiver on the field, and like, no, I can't be
- 8:18Speaker 4: Parker watching it's gotta be Brian tim STEENM it's gotta
- 8:19Speaker 4: be you know, and well and the hole gets into
- 8:22Speaker 4: the season and he's still the best. The shame of
- 8:24Speaker 4: it is Parker Washington. When you built this team, Parker
- 8:29Speaker 4: Washington is supposed to be one of three or four
- 8:31Speaker 4: guys on it. He was supposed to be the guy
- 8:34Speaker 4: who came out of nowhere and complimented a lot of
- 8:36Speaker 4: other things. Uh, right now he's the guy, and you
- 8:40Speaker 4: need a couple more.
- 8:41Speaker 6: Guys, need some more guys.
- 8:43Speaker 1: So Sarah on Jack Zam, we're gonna go over the
- 8:44Speaker 1: tape from yesterday's loss against the Texas.

- 9:06Speaker 6: Zip Chair is furniture for fans.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Welcome back into Jags day and today a frustrating one,
- 9:12Speaker 1: to say the least in Houston yesterday. We're gonna look
- 9:15Speaker 1: at some of the video. Start out early because things
- 9:18Speaker 1: were decent at this point. Yeah, for staff stuff, because
- 9:22Speaker 1: you got to you had a couple plays. I'll say
- 9:25Speaker 1: Jarian's interception incredible read risky of course, but comes through
- 9:29Speaker 1: and gets the interception, So commend him for that. But
- 9:32Speaker 1: then also the special teams play where the Texans fumble
- 9:35Speaker 1: the kickoff and two things going your way that early.
- 9:39Speaker 1: That's not something we always see, and you feel like
- 9:41Speaker 1: that's good omen for.
- 9:42Speaker 3: The day, right for a team that needed this lift.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Jerry and Jones gave it to them early. I mean
- 9:47Speaker 3: that the smoke was on these guys who were going
- 9:50Speaker 3: to be on the field in place of Jordan Lewis,
- 9:52Speaker 3: and I thought that was a great sign. And by
- 9:54Speaker 3: the way, he played a really good game. I thought,
- 9:56Speaker 3: you know, the break up, the pass breakup at the
- 9:58Speaker 3: end of the third quarter, and then the row down
- 10:00Speaker 3: to Christian Kirk. I thought Jerry and Jones played maybe
- 10:03Speaker 3: his best game.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I was uber impressed with Jarion Jones. Hopefully for his sake,
- 10:08Speaker 4: this is what he's going to be. And look early
- 10:14Speaker 4: it felt like they were doing they needed to take
- 10:17Speaker 4: more advantage of some of the breaks they got early
- 10:20Speaker 4: to get more up. But it felt, to liams Cohen's credit,
- 10:24Speaker 4: it felt like a game where you're gonna have to
- 10:25Speaker 4: sort of stack points, get up and then sort of
- 10:28Speaker 4: hold on. You thought you could do it against this
- 10:30Speaker 4: kind of Texans offense. When you get a ten to
- 10:32Speaker 4: nothing lead, seventeen to nothing lead, you feel like you've
- 10:36Speaker 4: gotten yourself in a game situation where it's gonna work.
- 10:39Speaker 4: And they got some gifts early. You know it was
- 10:43Speaker 4: shaping up.
- 10:44Speaker 3: That was a great play by Ventre Miller ye to
- 10:46Speaker 3: force that.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yep, that's true out coming up with it for sure
- 10:48Speaker 1: on special teams. Both of those were huge plays and
- 10:52Speaker 1: our two highlights of the day. I separate them because
- 10:54Speaker 1: you know, we need double dose of Parker. But the
- 10:55Speaker 1: first touchdown from Parker with the toe tap in the
- 10:58Speaker 1: back of the end zone. Then I had to watch
- 11:00Speaker 1: couple times because he had black sneakers on. He's gonna
- 11:02Speaker 1: wear brighter color shoes, I think. But it's tremendous. I mean, John,
- 11:06Speaker 1: we've talked about him being mister Reliable now for this team,
- 11:09Speaker 1: and he's proving it to be true.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Yeah, and he sort of belies what you think. When
- 11:14Speaker 4: you watch him in practice, you think, oh, this is
- 11:16Speaker 4: a slot guy. This is like Christian Kirk part two.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Right.
- 11:19Speaker 4: That was always his comparison because he was following Christian.
- 11:23Speaker 4: But then he he's spectacular when he gets it. He's
- 11:27Speaker 4: not just like a little slot receiver run around the
- 11:29Speaker 4: middle of the field. He's made high point the ball
- 11:33Speaker 4: in traffic as spectacular catches. This kid's really good.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Go back to his rookie season, the Cleveland game, the
- 11:38Speaker 3: second half especially. They lost that game, but he made
- 11:41Speaker 3: a couple of clutch catches where he had to elevate
- 11:43Speaker 3: and you weren't sure that a five foot nine wide
- 11:45Speaker 3: receiver could get up that high to make plays. He
- 11:47Speaker 3: has consistently made plays anytime they've asked him, whether it's
- 11:51Speaker 3: on offense or on special teams. He's just a really
- 11:53Speaker 3: good football play.
- 11:54Speaker 4: He's really good.
- 11:56Speaker 1: To take a look at the punt return because Brian
- 11:59Speaker 1: you mentioned he's impressive, probably the best you've seen in
- 12:02Speaker 1: Jaguar's history, but also just he just when he goes
- 12:05Speaker 1: with it, when he just kind of.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Goes with his first instincts. This is what we see
- 12:09Speaker 6: half the time well, and I.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Love the way that he sets this one up. You
- 12:12Speaker 3: know he made that move at the outside and then
- 12:14Speaker 3: cut back across the grid. Watch him lift his hand
- 12:16Speaker 3: here near the forty five yard like he knew he
- 12:18Speaker 3: was gonna score. He is, he's a supremely confident athlete.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Now I'd like to see him run across the goal line.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I say, I don't think I did not like that
- 12:26Speaker 3: part of it at all, get across the goal line.
- 12:29Speaker 3: But other than that, I mean, we're gonna get another
- 12:30Speaker 3: look at his little movie with the outside of the
- 12:31Speaker 3: little stutter step. He's just he's really impressive, really impressive
- 12:36Speaker 3: with the ball in his hands.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Well he sometimes I get emails from fans when he's
- 12:43Speaker 4: returning kicks. Why does any just go? You know, like
- 12:46Speaker 4: sometimes he sort of, but he's in punt returning is
- 12:51Speaker 4: a different beast than kick returning. Kick Connie, you just
- 12:53Speaker 4: get Parker has really good upon return. A long time ago,
- 12:59Speaker 4: he told me the key is patience. If it was
- 13:01Speaker 4: set up your box. He's a very patient returner, and
- 13:05Speaker 4: he can see it. He's got point guard type vision
- 13:08Speaker 4: back there when he's returning kicks. And you'll find a
- 13:11Speaker 4: lane every couple games.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Well, listen that you just set it up. He set
- 13:14Speaker 3: them up. He saw them flowing to that side of
- 13:17Speaker 3: the field, and he saw the cutback lane. But even
- 13:20Speaker 3: when you see it, not everybody has the quickness to
- 13:22Speaker 3: be able to turn and get back to it. I mean,
- 13:24Speaker 3: Maurice Jones. Drew is the other guy who is a
- 13:26Speaker 3: great return again a diminutive guy, but had really good
- 13:30Speaker 3: feet and the ability to cut it back. When I
- 13:32Speaker 3: watch him cut it back, it reminds me of moretos.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Hi Craze there.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Absolutely, let's uh, we're gonna condense some of the pain
- 13:39Speaker 1: from the fourth into just one or two pieces of
- 13:41Speaker 1: video here.
- 13:42Speaker 4: But three pain I ripped the band aid off yet three.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Touchdowns in a row here, the defense just Davis Mills
- 13:48Speaker 1: of all people to be kind of putting this all together.
- 13:51Speaker 1: We know the secondary's been struggling for you know, with injuries,
- 13:56Speaker 1: so Jarring Jones stepping up great, but the safety has
- 13:59Speaker 1: been with a lot Antonio Brown and excuse me, Antonio
- 14:04Speaker 1: Johnson and Dewy Winger struggling in the middle there. And
- 14:07Speaker 1: then on that last Davis Mills rushing touchdown, it just
- 14:11Speaker 1: feels like people were not in the right place on
- 14:13Speaker 1: that one.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Well it there's what sixty seventy five quarterbacks in the NFL, right,
- 14:22Speaker 4: the seventy fifth can beat you if you don't pressure him.
- 14:25Speaker 4: They can all throw and you have to pressure backup
- 14:28Speaker 4: quarterbacks into mistakes and then they'll throw you. The ball
- 14:31Speaker 4: every couple series. They didn't pressu him in any mistakes
- 14:34Speaker 4: in the fourth quarter.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Well, and then they got him on the run, but
- 14:36Speaker 3: everybody's back was to him. That was the most frustrating
- 14:41Speaker 3: play of the game at Davis Mills, who's a statue
- 14:43Speaker 3: compared to C. J. Stroud was basically given a lane yep.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And they had a couple of penalties too, and back
- 14:49Speaker 1: themselves up. Then all of that and then Drag's final drive.
- 14:53Speaker 1: They have it with thirty seconds left and there's a
- 14:55Speaker 1: couple aspects to this right, so they're gonna have to
- 14:59Speaker 1: throw it right the offensive line immediately. Just the pass
- 15:03Speaker 1: rush from the Texans is on Trevor immediately, you get
- 15:06Speaker 1: this great throat to Park of Washington to kind of
- 15:08Speaker 1: get him in range as mentioned, and there's a penalty
- 15:11Speaker 1: on Chium Minidoga. And then the final play of the
- 15:13Speaker 1: game again people are on him immediately. He's not gonna
- 15:16Speaker 1: be able to throw it anywhere at that point and
- 15:18Speaker 1: get out of bounds. So it didn't really matter it played, didn't.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Matter, but the one they got called back on the
- 15:25Speaker 4: penalty on Adoga. This I was complaining before the game
- 15:30Speaker 4: as a matter of fact, that the NFL has made
- 15:33Speaker 4: two minute or these final drives. To me, it happens
- 15:39Speaker 4: a little too often these days, and I'm the old
- 15:42Speaker 4: man here. But they got themselves in that situation. They
- 15:46Speaker 4: made the play with thirty seconds left. If you could
- 15:50Speaker 4: have said to any fan, hey, you can get a
- 15:51Speaker 4: sixty one yarder with Cam Little, you would have taken
- 15:55Speaker 4: it at that point. They got in that situation. And
- 15:58Speaker 4: you know, again, the penalties have this team all year,
- 16:01Speaker 4: penalties in the big moments. If that play doesn't happen,
- 16:04Speaker 4: we're talking about a hero is.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Can I just point out kind of problem at left
- 16:07Speaker 3: tackle right now? I mean it was very obvious in
- 16:10Speaker 3: recent weeks, the Seahawks game, the Rams game, and now here.
- 16:14Speaker 3: It's going to be an area of the Jaguars half
- 16:15Speaker 3: to your quarterback. If you want him, especially in two
- 16:18Speaker 3: minute situations, to be able to lead your team down
- 16:21Speaker 3: the field, he can't have a guy at his feed.
- 16:24Speaker 3: He just can't. You've got to figure out what's going
- 16:26Speaker 3: on at left tackle. And maybe Brenton Stranger's return this
- 16:28Speaker 3: week helps Walker a little over there, but that looks
- 16:31Speaker 3: like a real weak spot on the offensive line right now.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You have to hope so because also every single week
- 16:35Speaker 1: they're going to be going up against the best pass
- 16:36Speaker 1: rusher in the league.
- 16:37Speaker 3: That's not going away. They're going to see some really
- 16:39Speaker 3: good pass rushers and the quarterback has no chance unless
- 16:42Speaker 3: they solve that issue.
- 16:43Speaker 1: All right, coming up after the break, we're gonna give
- 16:45Speaker 1: you our hot takes about yesterday's game and going forward.
- 16:52Speaker 6: Welcome back to jag Jay.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I'm brought to you by Firehouse Subs today specifically bringing you.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Our hot takes. Alright, it was a tough one.
- 17:01Speaker 1: You guys are a little more forward thinking than I am.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Maybe I should go first. Actually, now I'm thinking about
- 17:06Speaker 1: this cause mine's a little more reactionary, and I think
- 17:08Speaker 1: people might resonate with a little cause I still got
- 17:11Speaker 1: smoke for everybody today. Mine is that there's plenty of
- 17:15Speaker 1: blame to go around, because I know I've seeing twitter
- 17:20Speaker 1: s s feels like it's split right, it's the defense
- 17:22Speaker 1: blew the game, and then it's everything is Trevor's fault.
- 17:24Speaker 6: How about it's both of their falls.
- 17:26Speaker 1: The defense couldn't get a stop Trevor Lawrence and the
- 17:28Speaker 1: offense couldn't get a first down.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Did he do enough?
- 17:30Speaker 1: At the very very end maybe, but then there's penalties
- 17:33Speaker 1: to go around. The offensive line was terrible. Trevor was
- 17:35Speaker 1: pressured pretty much all day. I think some of the
- 17:38Speaker 1: play calling in the second half could have run it
- 17:40Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 17:41Speaker 6: On that one play when you couldn't.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Get a first down, it was to think third and
- 17:44Speaker 1: three or third and four. There's an option to do
- 17:47Speaker 1: that there, especially when you're having trouble getting things going
- 17:49Speaker 1: in the passing game. At points other than Parker Washington,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I think everybody takes.
- 17:53Speaker 6: A little bit of blame in this. We didn't see
- 17:55Speaker 6: the special team.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Slipping the field the way we normally do, as well
- 17:58Speaker 1: with with Logan Cook. I think on defense there was
- 18:01Speaker 1: no pass rush. There's a lot there's a lot of things.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna let it go after today, but mondays, when
- 18:06Speaker 1: we go back and look at the film, I think
- 18:08Speaker 1: there's a lot of not finger pointing in the sense
- 18:10Speaker 1: of you you, you, But I think we all need
- 18:12Speaker 1: to look a little inward and say that everybody should
- 18:14Speaker 1: have been better yesterday and going forward. I think they
- 18:17Speaker 1: can do that, But when you keep looking at yourself
- 18:19Speaker 1: as the reason you're losing a game, you have to
- 18:22Speaker 1: kind of man up and fix it at some point.
- 18:23Speaker 3: You feel better now a little bit?
- 18:25Speaker 6: All right, John, you're next.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I went a little more forward because when
- 18:34Speaker 4: I was sitting and listening to Liam Cone in the
- 18:36Speaker 4: press conference, you know, it was a tough press reform
- 18:42Speaker 4: because you're deflated, right, and he is such an up
- 18:47Speaker 4: guy and he's done such a great job of holding
- 18:49Speaker 4: this thing together in the belief. So I think this
- 18:51Speaker 4: is gonna be as tough ast test yet. And he said, hey,
- 18:54Speaker 4: we got to move forward. That was his message of
- 18:56Speaker 4: the team he started right after the game. I think
- 18:58Speaker 4: he'll pass it. I mean, I think he's really good
- 19:01Speaker 4: with these guys and really good at setting the message
- 19:03Speaker 4: and getting these guys ready. But you know, the difference
- 19:07Speaker 4: between six and three and five and four is big,
- 19:10Speaker 4: and you know they were right in it, and now
- 19:13Speaker 4: five and four there's a lot more trees you have
- 19:15Speaker 4: to navigate in the force. And then this was a
- 19:18Speaker 4: gut punch yesterday. I mean, we talked about the Titans
- 19:21Speaker 4: game at the end of twenty three being such a
- 19:22Speaker 4: gut punch. This doesn't match that because that end of
- 19:25Speaker 4: the season. But you're you know, you've got I had
- 19:30Speaker 4: a story written everybody did, and now all of a sudden,
- 19:34Speaker 4: you're you know, punched back and I get a step
- 19:38Speaker 4: forward against the Chargers team. If you lose that, you're
- 19:40Speaker 4: four to the last five and then the noise. So
- 19:42Speaker 4: this is a this is the biggest test yet.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Yeah it is. And if I'm excited for anything, I'm
- 19:47Speaker 3: excited to see how Liam Cohen handles it.
- 19:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I think all of us have been impressed with him.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Oh and the way that he coaches this team. So
- 19:54Speaker 3: I'm kind of a growth mindset guy. The obstacle is
- 19:57Speaker 3: the opportunity, and I really think it's an opportunity for
- 20:00Speaker 3: this coach this week to drive his team where other
- 20:03Speaker 3: Jaguars teams could not be driven through this. I mean,
- 20:06Speaker 3: this go feel like a hangover this morning when these
- 20:08Speaker 3: guys come back in a really bad one and he's
- 20:11Speaker 3: got to get them through that today because if this
- 20:13Speaker 3: thing lingers much past tomorrow, then you have a chance
- 20:17Speaker 3: of letting the Texans beat you twice, right, and you
- 20:19Speaker 3: can't have that. So I'll go because I'm I'm gonna
- 20:23Speaker 3: be the ray of sunshine here.
- 20:24Speaker 6: I heard the optimist.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Well it's just my natural personality anyway, But I listen
- 20:30Speaker 3: with a nod to a gentleman that you knew Jim
- 20:31Speaker 3: mood playoffs, playoffs. Yeah, despite the way that yesterday happened
- 20:37Speaker 3: and it sucked, the reality of it is is that
- 20:39Speaker 3: the Jaguars are right where they If we had heard
- 20:42Speaker 3: five and four right early on in the number seven
- 20:46Speaker 3: spot at the midway point of the season, every one
- 20:48Speaker 3: of us would have taken it, because we know what
- 20:49Speaker 3: this is now. I'm not excusing yesterday, and I know
- 20:52Speaker 3: what happened yesterday. But the Jaguars have eight games left.
- 20:55Speaker 3: They have four games against teams with playoff caliber football
- 20:59Speaker 3: teams two against the Cold the Chargers this week and
- 21:01Speaker 3: one against the Broncos, and four against teams that are
- 21:04Speaker 3: just finishing out their season two against the Titans, the Cardinals,
- 21:07Speaker 3: and the Jets. Four of those games, pardon me, two
- 21:12Speaker 3: of each of those categories, playoff and non playoff are
- 21:14Speaker 3: at home, so you have a distinct opportunity. I thought
- 21:18Speaker 3: this was a nine win team. You can get to
- 21:21Speaker 3: nine by just winning the games against the teams that
- 21:23Speaker 3: you should now go steal one, right, beat the Chargers
- 21:26Speaker 3: here at home, find a way to take one from
- 21:28Speaker 3: the Colts, which you think you should be able to do.
- 21:31Speaker 3: It's a division matchup. Figure a way to steal one,
- 21:34Speaker 3: you win ten. And when you look at the playoff
- 21:37Speaker 3: picture right now, right, the Jaguars, it think won yesterday,
- 21:40Speaker 3: they would have been ahead of the Bills.
- 21:42Speaker 6: Bill's talking me back in so listen.
- 21:44Speaker 3: The Bills got hammered. The Bills got hammered yesterday by
- 21:48Speaker 3: the Dolphins in South Florida. There's a lot that can
- 21:51Speaker 3: happen over the final eight games of the season. And
- 21:53Speaker 3: a little bit more optimism. You're gonna get Brenton Strange back, right,
- 21:56Speaker 3: You're gonna get Brian Thomas Junior back. And since I'm
- 21:59Speaker 3: being optimistic, I'm going to say that he's going to
- 22:01Speaker 3: turn it on and start playing better football. You're gonna
- 22:04Speaker 3: get some pieces back, win the games that you should win,
- 22:07Speaker 3: Steal one, just one, and you're a playoff team. The
- 22:11Speaker 3: playoffs very much in the forefront for this football team.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Do they have to get through this week? Yes, The
- 22:18Speaker 3: next two days is going to be tough. Absolutely. I
- 22:20Speaker 3: believe in this coach and I think he can get
- 22:22Speaker 3: his team there.
- 22:23Speaker 6: Swilight go last. Feel better about this now, right, let's
- 22:25Speaker 6: go start it out a little hot. But now.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Say listen a world more break. We'll come back tell
- 22:30Speaker 1: you what's coming up the rest of the week. Jag
- 22:38Speaker 1: XAM and the upcoming Jaguars Charger game this weekend is
- 22:41Speaker 1: delivered by CSX. Also, if you want to donate blood

- 22:52Speaker 1: more info on that, you can go to one blood
- 22:53Speaker 1: dot com slash Jaguars. All right, so we're back here,
- 22:58Speaker 1: we've moved on. Brian gave us a pep time. Brent's
- 23:01Speaker 1: range is back this week.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Yeah, that's good news.
- 23:03Speaker 3: That's a great reason to smile.
- 23:05Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I mean he we've talked about him obviously endlessly, but
- 23:10Speaker 1: an offensive target for Trevor and he helps with this
- 23:13Speaker 1: line that is closely struggling right now.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Well, he's he's been crucial to the run game, giving
- 23:20Speaker 4: him probably fifteen twenty yards a game somewhere. That's you
- 23:23Speaker 4: don't think about. And before he got hurt, he was
- 23:27Speaker 4: Trevor's go to receiver on third down and probably twice
- 23:30Speaker 4: a game if you go back and to think about
- 23:31Speaker 4: those games. Twice a game, Trevor sort of went instinctively
- 23:35Speaker 4: to him for a third down conversion. Two third down
- 23:39Speaker 4: conversions in games or big deals.
- 23:41Speaker 3: If you've got one of those fourth quarter, yes today,
- 23:43Speaker 3: maybe you win. He matters. By the way, I was
- 23:46Speaker 3: watching him in the practice field last week as he
- 23:48Speaker 3: was working his way back, and by the way, this
- 23:50Speaker 3: is the week that the practice window could be opened.
- 23:53Speaker 3: He's so big and explosive. Now he's not six foot
- 23:56Speaker 3: six like some tight ends around you're a bin, but
- 23:58Speaker 3: he's just this big, one wide, strong body. And I
- 24:01Speaker 3: was watching him explode. You know. They were just doing
- 24:04Speaker 3: this drill, and I thought, man, did they need that?
- 24:06Speaker 3: They gotta have that.
- 24:08Speaker 1: They need him back, and he will be ready to
- 24:10Speaker 1: go when they do make him available, so hopefully sooner
- 24:12Speaker 1: than later. Alright, So with this one today, we'll be
- 24:15Speaker 1: back on Wednesday as we look forward to the Jaguars
- 24:19Speaker 1: game against the Chargers.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Enjoy the week,
