- 0:00Hi, this is Stephanie Maas.
- 0:02For those of you that know me, you know I've been doing these for quite some time.
- 0:06The fun part is the doing them.
- 0:08The hard part sometimes is coming up with the content.
- 0:11I reached out to some of my partners and colleagues at our firm, and I said, hey, if anybody has any ideas that they would like me to share, please let me know, and I'll be happy to do so.
- 0:21One of my favorite partners reached out after having had a, we'll say an incident at a company function, said, hey, I think you should talk about how to handle hangovers in the workplace.
- 0:34So, I gotta be honest, I don't have a ton of recent experience, but from back in the day when I did, here's just a couple of pointers for handling a hangover in the workplace.
- 0:45First and foremost, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
- 0:49I know it's easy to get caught up, beer after beer, wine after wine, shot after shot, but let's be smart.
- 0:57Buffer in some water every now and again.
- 0:59It really helps.
- 1:01If you don't, however, and you find yourself awake, having to rush off to work with a hangover, just remember it's never too late.
- 1:09I know it'll be tempting to go for the caffeine, but buffer in the water.
- 1:13It'll speed things up.
- 1:15Second thing, Let's be honest, if you're anywhere even close to my age, hangovers hurt.
- 1:23Let's not be shy about this.
- 1:26Advil, Tylenol, whatever it takes.
- 1:30It is your friend.
- 1:31Take it regularly until you can get to the other side.
- 1:35Lastly, have fun with it.
- 1:38We've all been there.
- 1:39Yeah, it stinks.
- 1:40And so you made a mistake.
- 1:41You drank too much the night before and now you're trying to function.
- 1:44Be a good spirit.
- 1:45Have a good attitude.
- 1:47And just be more mindful next time.
