- 1:17Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites That Podcast from the Volume and
- 1:21Speaker 1: Podcast Network. I am Chad Moment, Chief Content Officer of
- 1:25Speaker 1: the Action Network. A huge, huge show today for a
- 1:29Speaker 1: lot of people in sports, for a lot of sports fans,
- 1:32Speaker 1: for people who are relatively new to this podcast over
- 1:34Speaker 1: say the last eight nine months since we joined the Volume,
- 1:38Speaker 1: and who might have come to Western football season. If
- 1:42Speaker 1: you are a new better and you're just sort of
- 1:45Speaker 1: experiencing the joys of being a casual better, March Madness
- 1:49Speaker 1: is amazing. Conference Tournament Week might be even better because
- 1:54Speaker 1: of that, because it is conference tournament week for the
- 1:57Speaker 1: a C, c, SEC, Big Ten, Big Big East, plus
- 2:01Speaker 1: all some other conferences that, like you might not have
- 2:04Speaker 1: been paying attention to. We're going to dedicate this show
- 2:07Speaker 1: to betting the conference tournaments. Simon Hunter, my bff, my companion,
- 2:11Speaker 1: Mike and Padre. He's back from his world tour. We're
- 2:13Speaker 1: gonna talk for a second. After he's done. We're gonna
- 2:16Speaker 1: bring in UH two of Action Networks college basketball analysts
- 2:22Speaker 1: b J. Cunningham and the one name Wonder, the original
- 2:27Speaker 1: Action Network analysts Stucky. But first, Simon, we've had you
- 2:33Speaker 1: in Cuba. We've had you in Belize. We've had you
- 2:37Speaker 1: in Cosmel. We've had you from a balcony. We've had
- 2:41Speaker 1: you from a beach, We've had you from your hotel room.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You are now safely back in Southern Jersey, South Jersey,
- 2:49Speaker 1: as they say, welcome home, brother, it's good to be back.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Chat miss America little things. But as I got back here,
- 2:55Speaker 1: it was overcast forty degrees in Philadelphia, and I was thinking,
- 2:59Speaker 1: what am I on? Why did I come back? It's
- 3:01Speaker 1: good to be back to reality. I felt like I
- 3:03Speaker 1: felt it slipping away a little bit when I was
- 3:05Speaker 1: out there, like I might never come back. I was
- 3:07Speaker 1: going to pull a Vincent Chase and just disappear to
- 3:08Speaker 1: some island and just live it up. But now it's
- 3:11Speaker 1: good to be back, especially as it's about to be
- 3:14Speaker 1: March Madness. As a gamba, it's one of my favorite
- 3:16Speaker 1: times a year. I lose a ton of money or
- 3:18Speaker 1: I one a ton of money. There's no in between. Well,
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm glad you're back, Simon. It's funny you say it's
- 3:22Speaker 1: forty degrees and overcast in Philly. Yesterday it was sixty
- 3:26Speaker 1: degrees and relatively overcast in Connecticut, and it was so nice,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and I was so happy. I got I walked the
- 3:34Speaker 1: dog later in the day, and I came back and
- 3:36Speaker 1: I told my wife, I need you to commit to
- 3:38Speaker 1: me right now. I need you right now to commit
- 3:42Speaker 1: Our younger son is finishing his freshman year in high school.
- 3:45Speaker 1: That means three more years. That means three more winters,
- 3:48Speaker 1: that means eighteen months of winter. I need you to
- 3:52Speaker 1: commit to me right now that when he graduates, we
- 3:55Speaker 1: can start living somewhere else for six months of the year.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I cannot do winters. I can not do below fifty
- 4:00Speaker 1: degrees anymore. I'm getting older. I've always been sensitive to
- 4:05Speaker 1: the cold. I can't function in this environment anymore. I
- 4:09Speaker 1: don't know why you came back and I go to college,
- 4:11Speaker 1: mL Man. Half the people that's what bid Dill. They're
- 4:13Speaker 1: like New Yorkers are over for Connecticut. You're not the
- 4:15Speaker 1: only one with that thinking pattern. All right, well, I'm
- 4:17Speaker 1: glad you're back, Simon. Now I want to bring in B. J. Cunningham,
- 4:20Speaker 1: who was one of our Action Network analysts. He covers
- 4:24Speaker 1: literally everything. The guy used to be an accountant. Another
- 4:26Speaker 1: one of these accountants that we saved from the trash
- 4:29Speaker 1: heap of accountancy. Him and Chris Raybond. We saved their
- 4:33Speaker 1: lives and gave him a chance to do something smart
- 4:37Speaker 1: with their numbers that they enjoy. That is betting aggressively
- 4:42Speaker 1: and betting often and telling you about everything they do.
- 4:45Speaker 1: B J, another great college basketball year. How are you, buddy,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm wonderful. You know. It's funny that you mentioned the
- 4:50Speaker 1: accounting thing because I was moving some stuff around my
- 4:52Speaker 1: house the other day and I found my old CP
- 4:56Speaker 1: exam textbooks that are completely outdated, and I looked at them.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I was like, man, I really hope that I never
- 5:02Speaker 1: have to go back and doing that. So I guess
- 5:03Speaker 1: I gotta say once again, I should be thanking every
- 5:06Speaker 1: single day for for saving me from that. I'm really
- 5:08Speaker 1: excited for conference tournament time, you know, for people who
- 5:11Speaker 1: are just betting for the first time. There are so
- 5:14Speaker 1: many games over this this next week to bet on.
- 5:16Speaker 1: It's it's almost obviously the term is fantastic and the
- 5:19Speaker 1: drama is great, but there is so much more action
- 5:22Speaker 1: and chances to get bets in this week and it's
- 5:23Speaker 1: gonna be a ton, a ton of fun. Do you
- 5:26Speaker 1: get itchy at this time of year because it's account
- 5:28Speaker 1: it's a tax season? No. I I used to be
- 5:31Speaker 1: an honorist. I didn't never had to do taxes, And
- 5:33Speaker 1: actually I have somebody to do my own taxes because
- 5:36Speaker 1: they're actually quite complicated. I don't really want to spend
- 5:38Speaker 1: the time to try and figure them out nowadays because
- 5:40Speaker 1: there's obviously so many new regulations and everything like that. Well,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you're welcome, Stucky. It is great to have you on, brother.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I need you to explain to people when we started
- 5:50Speaker 1: Action Network. When I left ESPN in September of two
- 5:53Speaker 1: thousand seventeen, my first week on the job, I went
- 5:57Speaker 1: to New York on a Tuesday night. I had dinner
- 6:00Speaker 1: with this dude named Stucky who was like a quasi
- 6:04Speaker 1: analyst that had been hired before I was, before there
- 6:08Speaker 1: was even a company. He was a guy that was
- 6:10Speaker 1: discovered in message boards working in finance, and he was
- 6:15Speaker 1: hiding under the cloak of darkness and a fake name.
- 6:18Speaker 1: We're having dinner at a barbecue joined in the city
- 6:20Speaker 1: and he looks at me and goes so who's gonna
- 6:22Speaker 1: be my boss? I'm like, I guess that's gonna be me, buddy,
- 6:25Speaker 1: where five years later, almost stuck. He continues to be
- 6:30Speaker 1: the heart and soul of the Action Network and what
- 6:33Speaker 1: I love is obviously stuck. He is not your real name,
- 6:36Speaker 1: but you should explain to people how you got the
- 6:38Speaker 1: name and why did germaine to this conversation. Yeah, I left.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I left a job in finance for eight years, um
- 6:45Speaker 1: when we were first starting to and uh, unfortunately it
- 6:49Speaker 1: worked out. Um, still here and still kicking, and it's
- 6:52Speaker 1: my favorite month of the year. I've been betting college basketball,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I mean since I was in I mean almost daily
- 6:57Speaker 1: during the season since uh I don't freshman year in
- 7:00Speaker 1: high school and and back in two thousand three, I
- 7:03Speaker 1: started posting on on like forums like I won't name
- 7:07Speaker 1: any of them, but uh, you know you message boards,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you post your picks and then you're reasoning for it,
- 7:12Speaker 1: and then everyone kind of interacts like emojis. Before emojis,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you post like money bags. We we a couple of us,
- 7:18Speaker 1: started to try to start our own forum, so we
- 7:20Speaker 1: got banned from this one forum. My original name on
- 7:23Speaker 1: that was hilarious old a well named. But when I
- 7:26Speaker 1: came back to the forum mid two thousand's, Rodney Stucky
- 7:29Speaker 1: was one of my favorite college BASKETBA players went to
- 7:31Speaker 1: Eastern Washington University. So I just literally was creating a
- 7:37Speaker 1: user name and I would won money on Eastern Washington
- 7:40Speaker 1: UM that night. So I just created my accountant name
- 7:44Speaker 1: picked Stucky and that was that. I was at um
- 7:48Speaker 1: now Stucky to on Twitter because someone took Stucky. That
- 7:51Speaker 1: there's never tweeting like one time, like fifteen years ago,
- 7:54Speaker 1: and then it just stuck one intended and you know,
- 7:57Speaker 1: now like all my friends like leagues that people, that's
- 8:00Speaker 1: what people call me Um, and that's how it started.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And then you know, I built a big following up
- 8:06Speaker 1: on the forums and then you know they kind of
- 8:08Speaker 1: got like toxics. So I was like, I'm just going
- 8:10Speaker 1: to Twitter. I'll post my plays on Twitter. A lot
- 8:12Speaker 1: of people follow me, they're build to following. I was
- 8:15Speaker 1: a completely private and then now here we are talking
- 8:18Speaker 1: conference tournaments. I think it's appropriate that when we're talking
- 8:22Speaker 1: conference tournaments, and again we're gonna talk a c C SEC,
- 8:25Speaker 1: Big ten, etcetera, we're gonna throw in a couple of
- 8:28Speaker 1: wild cards there that go deeper. The fact that your
- 8:31Speaker 1: nickname is now based on a guy who played for
- 8:35Speaker 1: Eastern Washington and was playing for a team on which
- 8:39Speaker 1: you want to bet, and twenty years later that's still
- 8:42Speaker 1: your nickname. That shows you how deep we go into
- 8:45Speaker 1: college basketball, the Action Network and the quality of the
- 8:48Speaker 1: information you can count on on this podcast. Let's just
- 8:52Speaker 1: let her rip. There's a Big five essentially a c
- 8:56Speaker 1: c SEC, Big ten, Big twelve, pack twelve. Right, So
- 9:00Speaker 1: this past Saturday, we had Duke North Carolina coach K's
- 9:03Speaker 1: last game. The Iron Five from North Carolina played the
- 9:06Speaker 1: entire second half. They come back, they have a twenty
- 9:10Speaker 1: three point turnaround, they win that game. Stuck will start
- 9:13Speaker 1: with you handicap the a CEC Atturney right now, I
- 9:16Speaker 1: think that there's potential to maybe take a long shot,
- 9:21Speaker 1: not none of the crazy long shots to play on
- 9:23Speaker 1: the in the first day. There's the a CEC is
- 9:25Speaker 1: very down this year. So if you're used to the
- 9:27Speaker 1: a CEC being one of the best conferences in the country,
- 9:29Speaker 1: it's not this year. You have Duke safely in and
- 9:32Speaker 1: then it's like a bunch of teams that are on
- 9:34Speaker 1: the bubble, like even Carolina. I think they're safely in now,
- 9:37Speaker 1: but they were considered on the bubble like a week ago.
- 9:40Speaker 1: The bottom of there's been a lot of injuries, there's
- 9:42Speaker 1: a lot of turnover in the conference. The bottom of
- 9:43Speaker 1: the conference is just horrendous. And they play on Tuesday.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Those teams would have to win five games in five days.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Not happening. But the teams that play in the second round,
- 9:52Speaker 1: you know, opposite of Duke. I think, Duke, after that
- 9:55Speaker 1: Carolina loss, you're gonna come in here, I think with
- 9:58Speaker 1: a sense of purpose. So when I look get this bracket, okay,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I want to from a future spect, I want to
- 10:02Speaker 1: attack the bottom half of the bracket, where Duke isn't
- 10:05Speaker 1: and where Carolina is coming off of that huge Duke win.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Is there an emotional letdown? And and and by the way, Carolina,
- 10:12Speaker 1: Jackolan hide all your very inconsistent team they don't really
- 10:16Speaker 1: defend consistently. Is a team that look went to Duke
- 10:19Speaker 1: in one the spoil coach case party. They also lost
- 10:21Speaker 1: at home to pit Um, you know, and I can
- 10:23Speaker 1: go on and on for examples. I would look at
- 10:26Speaker 1: one of the two Virginia schools, Virginia, Virginia Tech. They
- 10:29Speaker 1: both play in the second round, and Virginia Tech if
- 10:32Speaker 1: they win and get Notre Dame Virginia if they win
- 10:35Speaker 1: with get North Carolina UM and both teams should advance
- 10:38Speaker 1: to those games in the quarterfinals. I kind of prefer
- 10:42Speaker 1: Virginia Tech. It's a team that can shoot, it's a
- 10:46Speaker 1: team that has that is well coached. Now, winning four
- 10:49Speaker 1: games in four days is not easy, but both of
- 10:52Speaker 1: those teams playing extremely slow, and that's gonna help with
- 10:56Speaker 1: legs because there's gonna be limited possessions. So it's not
- 10:58Speaker 1: a team that's running up and down the court relying
- 11:00Speaker 1: on athleticism limited possession games. Virginia Tech kind of underachieved
- 11:05Speaker 1: this year, but the potential is there. I like their path.
- 11:09Speaker 1: That's who I prefer. I could see the argument also
- 11:12Speaker 1: for Virginia you can get them, I don't know, tend
- 11:15Speaker 1: twelve to one. I think I actually four to one
- 11:18Speaker 1: and get Virginia Tech around ten twelve to one, and
- 11:21Speaker 1: you know, Virginia is gonna grind games down to a halt.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Their defense isn't as good as the year's past, they're
- 11:26Speaker 1: still well coached. They've competed with the best teams in
- 11:30Speaker 1: the conference. I think that's where I would look from
- 11:32Speaker 1: a futures perspective. I personally have a flyer on the
- 11:37Speaker 1: hookies of Virginia Tech, who probably need to win this
- 11:41Speaker 1: or get to the final two, get into the dance,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and so they're gonna be super motivated, and I think
- 11:47Speaker 1: that their path is is favorable. B J, you were
- 11:51Speaker 1: shaking your head before you respond, I would like to know,
- 11:57Speaker 1: if not the A C C, which is clearly not,
- 12:00Speaker 1: what do we think is the best the best conference
- 12:03Speaker 1: in college basketball this year? Well, personally, I would say
- 12:05Speaker 1: the Big Ten, that's my heart, but it's probably the
- 12:07Speaker 1: SEC The SEC IS. I would have imagine, you know,
- 12:11Speaker 1: you know, you're welcome. Uh, you know, the four best
- 12:14Speaker 1: teams in the SEC are clearly you know, way better
- 12:17Speaker 1: than you know, the top four in the Big Ten
- 12:19Speaker 1: right now. So I would say the SEC IS is
- 12:20Speaker 1: far and away probably the best conference. But the reason
- 12:23Speaker 1: I was shaking my head is because I literally had
- 12:25Speaker 1: Virginia Tech in Virginia written down right here. So I'm
- 12:28Speaker 1: gonna just you know, echo what stuck he said. You know,
- 12:30Speaker 1: Virginia attack really good three point shooting team, shooting over
- 12:33Speaker 1: thirty eight percent from behind the arc this season, they
- 12:36Speaker 1: spaced the floor really well. They're really good shot selection,
- 12:38Speaker 1: They're unbelievable in the half court, actually number one in
- 12:41Speaker 1: the a s C in points per possession in the
- 12:44Speaker 1: half court, both on offense and on defense. So it's
- 12:47Speaker 1: a really really good team that you're getting a ten
- 12:49Speaker 1: to one who, like Stuck he said, has been underachieving
- 12:52Speaker 1: this season. They've gotten unlucky in a lot of a
- 12:54Speaker 1: lot of games. That one game against North Carolina they
- 12:57Speaker 1: lost at home. If you look at the analytics SciTE
- 12:59Speaker 1: shock Qua, they they actually should have won that game
- 13:01Speaker 1: even though they lost, based on the quality of their shots.
- 13:03Speaker 1: So attend to one, they're they're a really good price,
- 13:06Speaker 1: especially being in the bottom half of the bracket getting
- 13:08Speaker 1: to avoid Duke and then obviously Virginia as well. What's
- 13:10Speaker 1: weird about Virginia is they're not really taking very many
- 13:14Speaker 1: threes this year. They actually have one of the lowest
- 13:15Speaker 1: three point rates in the country, so that they've been
- 13:18Speaker 1: banging teams downside pretty pretty well. So playing that slow
- 13:21Speaker 1: pace getting the ball inside, uh, they could cause some problems.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Sendable also in the bottom half of the bracket, and
- 13:28Speaker 1: you know, you look at Wake Forest and Notre Dame. There,
- 13:30Speaker 1: you know, a little bit of a paper tiger. Not
- 13:32Speaker 1: really as good as their their ranking shows. So for me,
- 13:36Speaker 1: I'm with Stucky. The two Virginia schools was where I'd
- 13:38Speaker 1: go in the a SEC. By the way, a reminder,
- 13:41Speaker 1: we've got a seven part conference attorney podcast, Big Bets
- 13:47Speaker 1: on Campus. If you want to go even deeper on
- 13:51Speaker 1: everything we're talking about, that is the place to go.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Seven part Conference Stourney podcast, Big Bets on Campus. Alright,
- 13:58Speaker 1: so we talked about the A C C are those
- 14:00Speaker 1: who are listening. Simon, on his return from his international travels,
- 14:04Speaker 1: is having incredible tech difficulties, so he has dropped out
- 14:07Speaker 1: of the podcast. But the stars of the show anyways
- 14:09Speaker 1: are b J and Stucky. B J, you mentioned the
- 14:12Speaker 1: SEC is probably the best conference. Great at the top,
- 14:17Speaker 1: you know, Auburn having an incredible year, Kentucky having an
- 14:21Speaker 1: incredible year. Start with you handicap the SEC right now? Yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So obviously the top four seeds I believe are you know,
- 14:28Speaker 1: kind of a notch above the rest of the conference.
- 14:31Speaker 1: But if you're looking at the odds, I don't think
- 14:32Speaker 1: there's really much value and taking one of the top
- 14:35Speaker 1: four seeds instead. I think there's a couple chances you
- 14:38Speaker 1: can take down the board on some teams to potentially
- 14:41Speaker 1: get hot. Alabama is one of them at fifteen to one.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I'm kind of targeting it's it's a really good offense there,
- 14:46Speaker 1: twelfth in the country and adjusted defense or offensive efficiency.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And the problem is with them is that they take
- 14:51Speaker 1: a high number of three pointers, but they're only hitting
- 14:54Speaker 1: around thirty one percent for the season and a lot
- 14:56Speaker 1: of you know, the regression stats tell you that they
- 14:58Speaker 1: should be shooting a little bit better. And if you
- 15:01Speaker 1: look through all their results they've hung with these top
- 15:03Speaker 1: four teams, you know, the first one that comes to
- 15:06Speaker 1: mind is the game in kent at Kentucky in Lexington,
- 15:09Speaker 1: where they just came out firing and hit a ton
- 15:12Speaker 1: of threes the beginning, got a huge lead on Kentucky
- 15:14Speaker 1: and then end up faltering down down the stretch. And
- 15:17Speaker 1: even in that first meeting against Kentucky they lost by
- 15:19Speaker 1: eleven at home, but you got three of thirty from
- 15:21Speaker 1: behind the arc. So if shooting aggression comes back for
- 15:23Speaker 1: them a little bit, they're gonna play Kentucky in the
- 15:26Speaker 1: next round. After they get by either Vanderbilt or Georgia.
- 15:28Speaker 1: If they have a good shooting night, they can get
- 15:30Speaker 1: hot and they can run right through this tournament and
- 15:32Speaker 1: really beat anybody at the top. But other than that,
- 15:36Speaker 1: LSU is kind of interesting attend to one. I'd like
- 15:37Speaker 1: a little bit of a better price. It's one of
- 15:39Speaker 1: the best defensive teams in the country. Their fifth in
- 15:42Speaker 1: UH just a defensive efficiency. They actually should have just
- 15:44Speaker 1: beaten Arkansas and they play them UH in the next round.
- 15:48Speaker 1: So for me, if you're looking for a team to
- 15:50Speaker 1: get hot and run through this tournament, Alabama is there.
- 15:53Speaker 1: The other top four seeds, look, they're obviously top four
- 15:56Speaker 1: for a reason. They're all under tend to one for
- 15:57Speaker 1: a reason. I really don't think there's much value in
- 16:00Speaker 1: taking them because they've really just traded all all season long,
- 16:03Speaker 1: UH and a lot of them. What's funny if you
- 16:06Speaker 1: look at, for example, like Auburn and Tennessee, they've been
- 16:09Speaker 1: if it looks if the entire tournament was played in
- 16:11Speaker 1: Knoxville or Auburn, like one of those teams might win
- 16:14Speaker 1: the actual n c A tournament, but that's not the case.
- 16:16Speaker 1: They haven't been that great away from home. So for me,
- 16:19Speaker 1: even though Kentucky's the three seed, they're clearly, in my opinion,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I think, the best team in the conference. But at
- 16:25Speaker 1: a price of plus one ninety, I'm definitely not playing them.
- 16:27Speaker 1: So Alabama fifteen to one as a shot would be
- 16:30Speaker 1: where I'm going in the SEC. Would you look? What
- 16:32Speaker 1: do you want to look for? Long shots? Like Alabama
- 16:34Speaker 1: would be the one. There's not enough, not enough for
- 16:37Speaker 1: me there. I mean, they did hang with Kentucky. Kentucky
- 16:39Speaker 1: was down two of their starters in Lexington and they
- 16:42Speaker 1: shot three for thirty. But ALBA shoots a ton of threes, right,
- 16:44Speaker 1: What do you want with some of these long shots
- 16:46Speaker 1: is high variance teams, So either low possessions, which is
- 16:50Speaker 1: going to create more variants and a tighter, you know,
- 16:52Speaker 1: fewer possession game, or a lot of three pointers. So
- 16:54Speaker 1: teams to shoot a lot of threes. Yeah, if you
- 16:57Speaker 1: get hot, especially you're playing in the same building for
- 16:59Speaker 1: a couple of days, as you can make a run
- 17:00Speaker 1: from three. It's the great equalizer. But I don't see
- 17:03Speaker 1: anyone make a run. This could be incredible, incredible semis.
- 17:07Speaker 1: It could be the best semish of the week. You
- 17:10Speaker 1: could have Kentucky Tennessee part three, they each blew each
- 17:14Speaker 1: other out, and then you could have Auburn Arkansas part
- 17:18Speaker 1: to Arkansas upset them in overtime like dunked on their
- 17:23Speaker 1: face at the end of If some of you might
- 17:26Speaker 1: have seen this clip, like the crowd storm the court,
- 17:30Speaker 1: it was pretty wild. Could have those two semis. But
- 17:32Speaker 1: something to keep in mind here, like Kentucky, I think
- 17:34Speaker 1: it's clearly the best team in the conference. They're plus
- 17:37Speaker 1: around plus two hundred two to one on So if
- 17:39Speaker 1: you've got like, you know, a hundred hours and they
- 17:40Speaker 1: wanted to be two hundred something to keep in mind,
- 17:43Speaker 1: and this might be a little complex for some, but
- 17:47Speaker 1: sometimes you want to look at what's called a money
- 17:49Speaker 1: line rollover, like the odds being offered from a future perspective,
- 17:53Speaker 1: it might actually make more sense to just bet that
- 17:57Speaker 1: team on the money line in the first game, take
- 17:59Speaker 1: what you want on and bet, and then do it
- 18:01Speaker 1: in the second game. For example, Kentucky's plus two hundred, right,
- 18:05Speaker 1: they're gonna have to be Alabama, then presumably Tennessee, and
- 18:09Speaker 1: then Auburn. Those are three hardies and they're plus two hundreds,
- 18:13Speaker 1: so they're probably like seven point favorites, and like three
- 18:16Speaker 1: and a half point favorites, and then like, I don't
- 18:19Speaker 1: know two point favorite So you're talking minus three d
- 18:22Speaker 1: minus one sixty minus one thirty parlay them together, which
- 18:26Speaker 1: was what you do with the money line roll over.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It's three or one odds, so there's just no value
- 18:30Speaker 1: of that number of plus two hundred. It's not that
- 18:32Speaker 1: simple because there could be an upset elsewhere, but I
- 18:34Speaker 1: don't see too many upsets here in the SEC. The top,
- 18:37Speaker 1: the cream of the crop of this conference is excellent.
- 18:40Speaker 1: They're gonna have to say come the actual tournament as well.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I think Kentucky ends up beating Auburn in the final.
- 18:47Speaker 1: It's chalky, so no features here for me. I like
- 18:50Speaker 1: that idea, a money line roll over on Alabama. That's
- 18:54Speaker 1: more fun than what b J said. BJ is just like, yeah,
- 18:57Speaker 1: go ahead, take Alabama money line all over. Because of
- 19:01Speaker 1: that answer, stuck, you get to start on my favorite conference,
- 19:07Speaker 1: the Big Ten. Yeah. Big Ten is a really interesting
- 19:12Speaker 1: conference because well it's it's deep, and it's it's one
- 19:15Speaker 1: of the best that's b J alluded to, but there's
- 19:17Speaker 1: a big question mark headed into it. If anyone watched
- 19:21Speaker 1: the game's yesterday, one of the best players in the country,
- 19:26Speaker 1: Johnny Davis wor Wisconsin, went down and with an injury
- 19:28Speaker 1: didn't play. They got upset by Nebraska at home and
- 19:32Speaker 1: they had a chance to clinch the one seed, and
- 19:33Speaker 1: they just melted down. They scored two points over the
- 19:35Speaker 1: final six minutes without him. This isn't an even an
- 19:38Speaker 1: n I T team. I mean, they are horrendous. He's
- 19:41Speaker 1: one of the best players in the country. I haven't
- 19:43Speaker 1: heard anything on his status, but that's enormous. They're the
- 19:46Speaker 1: two seed in the bottom half of the bracket. So
- 19:48Speaker 1: when I first look at this bracket, I say, okay,
- 19:50Speaker 1: I kind of want to attack this bottom half because
- 19:53Speaker 1: Wisconsin is a very Week two I mean, but the
- 19:55Speaker 1: market has adjusted their ten to one and they're the
- 19:57Speaker 1: two seed. You know they're gonna play the winner in
- 20:00Speaker 1: Michigan State Maryland. I don't really trust either one of
- 20:04Speaker 1: those teams. Um, Michigan State Maryland just played each other.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Ohio State has been struggling um of late, and then
- 20:13Speaker 1: you have produced, So you know, I think Producers gonna
- 20:16Speaker 1: walk to the final in the bottom half. But I
- 20:19Speaker 1: just don't see a ton of value with them. So
- 20:21Speaker 1: moving to the top. So I'm just really unfortunate how
- 20:24Speaker 1: it worked out with Wisconsin because they're extremely vulnerable. They
- 20:26Speaker 1: were already extremely vulnerable. They're very lucky team coming into
- 20:31Speaker 1: this bracket on they might not have Davis. So we'll
- 20:33Speaker 1: see top half. It's uh, you know, the Illinois the
- 20:38Speaker 1: one seed they're gonna play the potential winner of Michigan Indiana.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Michigan is very interesting and you can get them like
- 20:43Speaker 1: uh one, They're gonna got to win four games in
- 20:46Speaker 1: four days. They you know, they can compete with Illinois.
- 20:50Speaker 1: They blew out Indiana at Indiana. But you know, I'm
- 20:54Speaker 1: curious to get b j s thoughts because I'm actually
- 20:56Speaker 1: conflicted on the big ten. I'm like years to me.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You can get Rutgers about it the twenty one, and
- 21:05Speaker 1: you can get Iowa at four to one. Now why
- 21:08Speaker 1: that's so interesting? Like Iowa is the five seed, they
- 21:12Speaker 1: have to play a game before playing Rutgers. Rutgers has
- 21:16Speaker 1: the double buy and Rutgers it's not as good as
- 21:20Speaker 1: i Whether or not even close, but they beat Iowa
- 21:23Speaker 1: early in the season, they're gonna have the buy. Iowa's
- 21:25Speaker 1: playing as well as anybody in this Conference, So that
- 21:30Speaker 1: that's who I think is. They're gonna have to get
- 21:32Speaker 1: through Rutgers. They're gonna get through Illinois. They should have
- 21:34Speaker 1: beat Illinois on their home court last night playing and
- 21:37Speaker 1: they one always playing for everything. They dis missed a
- 21:39Speaker 1: bunch of pritos, which they never do. He get married
- 21:41Speaker 1: one of the best players in the country. So I
- 21:43Speaker 1: like Iowa to get it done here. But from a
- 21:46Speaker 1: value perspective, it's like Rutgers, who's gonna grind the game
- 21:49Speaker 1: to a halt. Right, They're gonna be in the game.
- 21:51Speaker 1: They have a great defense. You get twenty to one,
- 21:54Speaker 1: and they're they're you know, they're the four seed. And
- 21:56Speaker 1: I was to play a game before playing them, So
- 21:58Speaker 1: b J, curious to your thought on that dynamic. Yeah, Iowa, listen,
- 22:03Speaker 1: I will. Before the odds came out, I was watching
- 22:06Speaker 1: the game and I was like, man, with this loss,
- 22:08Speaker 1: maybe we'll get iowat a decent number, maybe an eight
- 22:10Speaker 1: to one or ten to one. But the market is
- 22:11Speaker 1: clearly adjusted on Iowa. So with them having to play
- 22:14Speaker 1: an extra game, uh, four to one, there's I just
- 22:17Speaker 1: don't think there's really much value in taking the Hawkeyes.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And I love them and they've obviously been playing tremendously
- 22:23Speaker 1: and I'm very confident in how they're gonna, you know,
- 22:25Speaker 1: give Illinois a lot of problems. But the thing with Rutgers,
- 22:28Speaker 1: you know, they've obviously got a couple of road wins,
- 22:30Speaker 1: but they're just unbelievable at the rack, uh anywhere. Away
- 22:34Speaker 1: from there, they tend to struggle a little bit. So
- 22:37Speaker 1: I was probably definitely gonna be favorite over them, and
- 22:39Speaker 1: that one one is definitely a decent price for a
- 22:41Speaker 1: team that's gonna get a buy in that round one.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Team I'm kind of looking at is Chad, You're you're
- 22:46Speaker 1: all modern Indiana one is is a little bit interesting
- 22:50Speaker 1: to me. Uh, you know, their last game against Perdue,
- 22:54Speaker 1: listen that. Throughout most of the season, I think what
- 22:56Speaker 1: you could say is the body language from Indiana has
- 22:58Speaker 1: been really bad, and it looks the players, you know,
- 23:00Speaker 1: maybe don't care that much. There's been some off court issues.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It's been kind of a little bit mess in Woodson's
- 23:06Speaker 1: first season. But that game against Purdue, they actually showed something.
- 23:10Speaker 1: They showed a little bit of hard They actually looked
- 23:12Speaker 1: like they wanted to actually win the game. It's a
- 23:15Speaker 1: real They're the number one team in the Big Ten
- 23:17Speaker 1: in terms of adjusted defensive efficiency. It's just can the
- 23:20Speaker 1: offense get it going? Can they find some rhythm. They
- 23:24Speaker 1: aren't shooting the ball very well from behind the arc,
- 23:26Speaker 1: but if you look at shock quality their number one
- 23:28Speaker 1: in the Big Ten in open three point rate, they
- 23:30Speaker 1: just have not been hitting them. They're only hanging around
- 23:33Speaker 1: from behind the arc. So if the body language gets better,
- 23:37Speaker 1: this is a team that definitely has a ton of talent.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Trace Jackson Davis one of the best big men in
- 23:40Speaker 1: the conference, Parker Stewart's an incredible three point shooter, and
- 23:43Speaker 1: Davier Johnson's a really good point guards. So that first
- 23:46Speaker 1: game against Michigan is gonna be very interesting if you
- 23:48Speaker 1: kind of want to take one of these long shots.
- 23:50Speaker 1: One of those two is where I'm kind of looking
- 23:53Speaker 1: because I agre stuck. He produced probably just gonna walk
- 23:55Speaker 1: to the final. But I definitely don't want to take
- 23:57Speaker 1: them at plus two twenties. So Michigan or Indiana is
- 24:00Speaker 1: definitely where I'm looking at here in the Big Ten,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and I think they'll give Illinois definitely some problems in
- 24:06Speaker 1: the next yeund Yeah, I I just saw try I
- 24:09Speaker 1: just don't think it's a great matchup for Indiana. I mean,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I think they lost twenty five at home because they
- 24:13Speaker 1: their guards can't take advantage of Michigan's you know, lack
- 24:17Speaker 1: of perimeter trouble on the defensive end um and then
- 24:21Speaker 1: obviously Michigan can match Indiana inside. Chad, you're a big
- 24:26Speaker 1: fan of the money line rollover, I think that I
- 24:28Speaker 1: was the is the prime care for that. If you
- 24:30Speaker 1: want to go IOA, I mean, I would have to
- 24:31Speaker 1: win four games in four days. Now. They're deep, they
- 24:34Speaker 1: have a really good bench. They're playing as well as anybody,
- 24:36Speaker 1: but they're gonna be like Northwestern's decent team, Rutgers and
- 24:40Speaker 1: then potentially Illinois and then Perdue. I mean, your your money,
- 24:45Speaker 1: that the money that the Rover is gonna pay more
- 24:46Speaker 1: than five to one on that um. But yeah, there
- 24:50Speaker 1: might pick to win it. They're playing as uh as
- 24:52Speaker 1: well and as anybody and be Jays and Iowa fan.
- 24:54Speaker 1: We'll see. We'll see this year if a peeking Iowa
- 24:58Speaker 1: team late in the season doesn't just take a big
- 25:01Speaker 1: fat dump in the first game of the tournament. They
- 25:05Speaker 1: haven't gone to the Sweet six team in my lifetime,
- 25:08Speaker 1: so it would be very nice if they could finally
- 25:11Speaker 1: do that, because last season was the time that they
- 25:13Speaker 1: were supposed to do it and they laid a massive
- 25:16Speaker 1: egg against Oregon. So I'm I really really liked this team.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Keegan Murray is one of the more fun Iowa players
- 25:22Speaker 1: in my lifetime. Uh So I'm very I'm weirdly way
- 25:27Speaker 1: more confident them. Is like a seven or sixth seed
- 25:29Speaker 1: this season than I was last year as a two seed,
- 25:34Speaker 1: which has been enormous. Itally is one of those interesting
- 25:37Speaker 1: teams where they keep they keep getting national credit and
- 25:41Speaker 1: national attention. Is one of the better teams, and I
- 25:44Speaker 1: feel like the only time I hear about them this
- 25:45Speaker 1: year is when they have an unexpected loss. That the
- 25:49Speaker 1: loss has pretty much all been on the road, like
- 25:50Speaker 1: they obviously, you know, they lost the rack. They've had
- 25:52Speaker 1: a couple of slip ups. It's a It's an interesting Obviously,
- 25:55Speaker 1: Kofe's incredible, and they have a ton of three point
- 25:58Speaker 1: shooters around him, and when they hitting those shots, they
- 26:01Speaker 1: almost look unbeatable. But the problem is is that in
- 26:04Speaker 1: Big Ten play their three point shooting has gone down
- 26:06Speaker 1: and tick They're only shooting around thirty when in like
- 26:09Speaker 1: non conference I'm pretty sure they were close to around
- 26:12Speaker 1: So if that three point shooting isn't there, and you know,
- 26:15Speaker 1: Kofi gets into foul trouble, then that's when things start
- 26:19Speaker 1: to head kind of you know, snowballing downhill. UM. But
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean they're a price of plus three seventy there,
- 26:25Speaker 1: there's I don't think there's really much value in taking them.
- 26:28Speaker 1: But like you said, yeah, I mean they've had a
- 26:30Speaker 1: couple of big wins, but you know, losing twice to
- 26:32Speaker 1: Purdue UM and then a couple of other bad losses
- 26:36Speaker 1: are kind of, you know, a little bit shocking, but
- 26:40Speaker 1: you know, they're still one of the best teams in
- 26:41Speaker 1: the country. The Players Championship is back with one of

- 28:43Speaker 1: Big twelve they've had a very inconsistent year. You're talking
- 28:46Speaker 1: about Baylor, you're talking about Kansas. What is the handicap
- 28:50Speaker 1: in the Big twelve b J Yeah, it's I don't
- 28:53Speaker 1: really have much interest in taking the top four uh seeds.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Kansas is very weird. They've had a ton of close
- 28:59Speaker 1: call this season. They're they're obviously one of the best
- 29:03Speaker 1: offenses in the country. But you know, at two to one,
- 29:05Speaker 1: obviously this is a you know, they're gonna be playing
- 29:08Speaker 1: in Kansas City, so that's essentially a home tournament for them.
- 29:11Speaker 1: But at two to one, I have no interest in
- 29:13Speaker 1: betting than Baylor. They lost their best interior defender to
- 29:16Speaker 1: Chua the middle of the season, and they're also one
- 29:19Speaker 1: of the worst teams in defending at the rim, so
- 29:21Speaker 1: that's problematic for them. Texas Tech is starting to fade
- 29:25Speaker 1: down the stretch. One team I'm kind of looking at
- 29:28Speaker 1: as a long shot as Oklahoma at twenty one. They're
- 29:31Speaker 1: starting to come on here. They've won three straight down
- 29:33Speaker 1: the stretch and their first round match against Baylor is
- 29:35Speaker 1: a really good one. So I just mentioned there's one
- 29:37Speaker 1: of the five worst teams in defending at the rim. Well,
- 29:40Speaker 1: Oklahoma sixth in the country in two point field goal
- 29:42Speaker 1: percentage and around shooting around on shout attempts the rim.
- 29:45Speaker 1: So it's a really good matchup for them here in
- 29:47Speaker 1: the first round. And you know, you obviously look at Texas,
- 29:49Speaker 1: then Texas I feel very similar to them. How I
- 29:53Speaker 1: feel about Tennessee is that analytically they grade out really
- 29:56Speaker 1: really well in terms of defense and offense. But there
- 29:58Speaker 1: are just times where you watch Texas and they just
- 30:01Speaker 1: go through these shooting slumps that just take them completely
- 30:04Speaker 1: out of the game. So they're one of the teams
- 30:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna potentially be avoiding. You know, Kansas also is
- 30:09Speaker 1: one of the streak your teams in the in the
- 30:12Speaker 1: whole country, so they could fall flat and loose here
- 30:15Speaker 1: in the in the second round, or they could you know,
- 30:17Speaker 1: breeze all the way through the tournament. But Oklahoma a
- 30:20Speaker 1: team that's starting to kind of come on, especially at
- 30:22Speaker 1: a good price of one, with a pretty good match
- 30:24Speaker 1: against Taylor in the first round. I think the Sooners
- 30:26Speaker 1: do have a little bit of value here in the tournament.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Stucky agree or disagree, I probably would just year it's
- 30:33Speaker 1: gonna be it's I think it's gonna be hard for
- 30:35Speaker 1: Okahoma to get it done. Um and then I think
- 30:38Speaker 1: Baylor ends up walking to the final because that there
- 30:40Speaker 1: they must be salvating for another. They lost twice to
- 30:43Speaker 1: Texas Tech this year in two close games in Texas
- 30:45Speaker 1: Tech kind of headed and I just don't trust their offense.
- 30:49Speaker 1: But Kansas is very vulnerable just if you watch them.
- 30:52Speaker 1: There's just something that's just not right on the defensive
- 30:55Speaker 1: end with this team. They can get bullied a little
- 30:58Speaker 1: bit inside at times. Tease. You did that twice PC
- 31:02Speaker 1: you beat them bad at at TCU. Then then that
- 31:05Speaker 1: they played two games in a row. Kansas, after getting embarrassed,
- 31:08Speaker 1: comes home. They come out with the crowd and staying
- 31:11Speaker 1: one of the best home court advantage and all college best.
- 31:13Speaker 1: But they go up double digit. CCU fights all the
- 31:14Speaker 1: way back. That game went right down to the wire
- 31:17Speaker 1: with Mike Miles, one of the best players in the country.
- 31:20Speaker 1: If you haven't seen him for TCU, he was a
- 31:22Speaker 1: massive fal trouble the entire game. Tc the number one
- 31:25Speaker 1: offensive rebounding team in the country, just extremely physical. So look,
- 31:30Speaker 1: I think that they can beat Kansas in the semifinals.
- 31:33Speaker 1: It's a it's a good matchup for them. Miles is incredible.
- 31:37Speaker 1: The problem is TCU, for whatever reason, it just didn't
- 31:41Speaker 1: match up well with Texas during the regular season. They
- 31:44Speaker 1: lost both meetings fairly easily. So it's like a little
- 31:47Speaker 1: conundrum there. If you can find like thirty two one
- 31:51Speaker 1: on TCU just three games in three days, I think
- 31:54Speaker 1: that they can certainly make a run here. Um, because
- 31:58Speaker 1: I think that they match up with well with Kansas,
- 32:00Speaker 1: and who knows, Kansas could go down to Kansas State.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Um if Kansas State is hitting their threes. So yeah,
- 32:05Speaker 1: I think CCU is the sleeper. I think Baylor gets there, um,
- 32:09Speaker 1: but Kansas is the vulnerable team. And you might hear
- 32:12Speaker 1: a myth this year. You'll hear this every year around
- 32:15Speaker 1: this time. It's hard to be the team three times
- 32:17Speaker 1: in the conference tournaments teams that swept the regular season.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Over the past thirty years, teams that swept the regular
- 32:23Speaker 1: season have actually covered at fifty clip um in the
- 32:30Speaker 1: conference tournament. So that is a myth. Just most time
- 32:35Speaker 1: there's a reason the team got swept because it's maybe
- 32:37Speaker 1: not a great match up. There are exceptions with injuries
- 32:39Speaker 1: and things of that nature, but just thought i'd throw
- 32:42Speaker 1: that out there. So, yeah, if you're looking for some
- 32:44Speaker 1: of these are just fun. Like you know, thirty to
- 32:46Speaker 1: one to one. Tc doesn't shoot a lot of threes,
- 32:50Speaker 1: which I don't like, but they just get a ton
- 32:52Speaker 1: of offensive rebounds. But some of these are fun. So
- 32:54Speaker 1: if you want to throw a flyer on, you know,
- 32:57Speaker 1: a four day tournament in the Big twelve, which should
- 32:59Speaker 1: be fun. Um and for TCU it's gonna be a
- 33:02Speaker 1: three day tournament, I go with Horn Frocks Jamie dickon Okay,
- 33:08Speaker 1: rapid fire because there's three conferences I want to get
- 33:11Speaker 1: to still one sort of a Big five in the
- 33:15Speaker 1: Pac twelve. Um, actually there's four. I want to get
- 33:19Speaker 1: to Pack twelve, Big East and then two wild cards
- 33:24Speaker 1: uh B J one sentence and the Pack twelve. It's
- 33:28Speaker 1: hard to look away from Arizona and minus one twenty.
- 33:31Speaker 1: They are incredibly difficult to beat. And I don't see
- 33:33Speaker 1: any really team uh competing with them in the Pack
- 33:37Speaker 1: twelve Stucky Pack twelve. Yeah, it would have been Oregon,
- 33:41Speaker 1: but they faded on the stretch. Richardson, the leading score
- 33:45Speaker 1: might not even play. If you want to throw a
- 33:47Speaker 1: dart Washington State, Big East Stucky, you start. I think
- 33:55Speaker 1: Providence is being disrespected here. They're kind of like the
- 33:59Speaker 1: team at everyone hates for good, you know, in the
- 34:02Speaker 1: analytics community, for for good reason. They've been one of
- 34:04Speaker 1: the luckiest teams in the country. They win every game
- 34:05Speaker 1: by one to five points. But here's the thing, that's
- 34:08Speaker 1: all we need to do in the conference. M win
- 34:10Speaker 1: games I one to five points. That will work. And they,
- 34:13Speaker 1: you know, they're like five to one. They're the they're
- 34:16Speaker 1: the one seed, by the way, and like Yukon is
- 34:20Speaker 1: three to like plus three fifty. Yukon's on the same
- 34:23Speaker 1: side of the bracket as Villanova, who's the best team
- 34:26Speaker 1: in this conference. And like, it just makes no sense
- 34:31Speaker 1: to me because people hate I just people have started
- 34:34Speaker 1: to absolutely hate Providence. So I think that you're potentially
- 34:37Speaker 1: getting some value on them, and then in their half
- 34:40Speaker 1: of the bracket, you have a bunch of teams that
- 34:41Speaker 1: are either fading or dealing with injuries. So I think
- 34:44Speaker 1: that their path to the final is incredible. If you're
- 34:48Speaker 1: looking to take a flyer here, I would maybe look look. St.
- 34:54Speaker 1: John's and DePaul are both going like this. It's really
- 34:57Speaker 1: sad that they both at the play each other in
- 34:58Speaker 1: the first round and one of them is gonna have
- 35:00Speaker 1: to go on a big run here. Um. But St.
- 35:03Speaker 1: John's is it really interesting team. They have incredible talent
- 35:07Speaker 1: with Pash Alexander Chapaniah. I mean like they're they're really
- 35:09Speaker 1: talented team. They kind of imposed their will on you,
- 35:12Speaker 1: muck up the game with their pressure, and they've given
- 35:16Speaker 1: Villanova fits in recent years. They took you know, they
- 35:20Speaker 1: have two really close games against Connecticut this year. They're
- 35:24Speaker 1: they're an interesting flyer. They'll have to win the tournament
- 35:27Speaker 1: to get into the dance um. So if you're looking
- 35:29Speaker 1: for a dart there, it's St. Johnson. I think the
- 35:32Speaker 1: values of providence of five to one in that top
- 35:36Speaker 1: half of the bracket as the one seed um with
- 35:40Speaker 1: with a bunch of teams that are fading, like Crating
- 35:42Speaker 1: lost their point guard, and um, so I think Providences
- 35:45Speaker 1: the value St John's the dart b J. Yeah, I
- 35:49Speaker 1: think the market has overreacted a tad bit to Providence.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Ire is stucky that five new one there one team
- 35:54Speaker 1: if they actually looked interest, if they looked interested. Xavier
- 35:58Speaker 1: at twenty one is a little bit interesting. A team
- 35:59Speaker 1: that can score at a high rate inside, defends well
- 36:02Speaker 1: in the half court, but lost four or five down
- 36:04Speaker 1: the stretch, especially in the game against St. John's. The
- 36:06Speaker 1: body language is really really bad and even you, Travis
- 36:09Speaker 1: Steele even said it in the press conference, So, uh,
- 36:13Speaker 1: who knows. Maybe a conference tournament breeds new life into them. Uh.
- 36:16Speaker 1: And they actually look like they want to play and
- 36:18Speaker 1: if they can, they're they're one of the better teams
- 36:20Speaker 1: in this conference. And definitely I think have a little
- 36:22Speaker 1: bit of value at twenty one. The last two I
- 36:25Speaker 1: want to talk about, uh, And I asked you guys
- 36:28Speaker 1: before we came on. We can go through sort of
- 36:30Speaker 1: the big players in college basketball. But the beauty of
- 36:33Speaker 1: the conference tournaments is how exciting it gets with teams
- 36:37Speaker 1: nobody's been paying attention to all year except for maybe
- 36:40Speaker 1: you guys, these are great precursors to March madness where
- 36:44Speaker 1: people can start to think about who are the teams
- 36:46Speaker 1: that need to pay attention to for brackets, where are
- 36:49Speaker 1: the opportunities for some of those sea teams that will
- 36:51Speaker 1: be seated between you know, ten and sixteen um B J.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Let's start quickly with the Mountain West. Yeah, it's a
- 37:03Speaker 1: it's a probably one of the more interesting conference tournaments
- 37:05Speaker 1: out there. You have about about five teams that I
- 37:09Speaker 1: think really have a good chance of actually winning the tournament. Uh,
- 37:13Speaker 1: if you love offense, you might want to stay away
- 37:15Speaker 1: from this conference because there's a lot of teams in here,
- 37:17Speaker 1: like Boise State, San Diego State that are just incredible
- 37:20Speaker 1: defensive teams but just play slow paces and just muck
- 37:23Speaker 1: up those type of games. Wyoming for a lot of
- 37:26Speaker 1: the season was one of the luckier teams, but they've
- 37:28Speaker 1: kind of started to regress towards where they should be
- 37:31Speaker 1: and they're still one of the I think potentially the
- 37:33Speaker 1: best team in this conference. You can get them at
- 37:35Speaker 1: currently at six to one. They have an interesting match
- 37:37Speaker 1: against UMLB in the first round, and then they'll play
- 37:39Speaker 1: Boise State, who they did struggle with in one meeting,
- 37:42Speaker 1: but they were without one of their leading scorers. So
- 37:45Speaker 1: especially in the top half of the bracket, I think
- 37:47Speaker 1: Boise State is the one seed is pretty vulnerable. Um,
- 37:50Speaker 1: Colorado State is also interesting. They uh for a lot
- 37:53Speaker 1: of the season, we're winning a lot of close games
- 37:55Speaker 1: where Tad overrated as as a two seed. But uh,
- 37:59Speaker 1: you know there's even teams like Utah State at eleven
- 38:01Speaker 1: to one, who went through a lot of injuries and
- 38:03Speaker 1: I have gotten a lot of those really a lot
- 38:05Speaker 1: of their best players back, and they could definitely make
- 38:07Speaker 1: a run. So if you want to take a long shot,
- 38:10Speaker 1: I think Utah State is probably the play here. But
- 38:12Speaker 1: if you want to go buy stuckies money line rollover system,
- 38:15Speaker 1: I think any of the teams that you know are
- 38:18Speaker 1: below six to one, definitely you're probably gonna get a
- 38:20Speaker 1: better price at at rolling them over. Stuck Now he's
- 38:24Speaker 1: now he's piggybacking off the money line rollover. Yeah. Well, Matt,
- 38:28Speaker 1: what you mentioned some of the best players in the
- 38:29Speaker 1: in the country. About West has some of them, Um,
- 38:32Speaker 1: like David Roddy for Colorado stay is incredible. Matt Bradley
- 38:35Speaker 1: for San Diego State Orlando Robinson for Fresnos the first
- 38:37Speaker 1: round draft pick. Um, you know, Bryce Hamilton's for UNLV
- 38:41Speaker 1: is amazing, could take over a game at any point
- 38:43Speaker 1: in time. They're they're just up about. They have four
- 38:46Speaker 1: teams that are in the tournament. They have four at large.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Is if someone else that's not like you're gonna see
- 38:51Speaker 1: Boise State, You're gonna see Colorado State, You're gonna see
- 38:54Speaker 1: Wyoming in San Diego State, number one defense in the country. Um,
- 38:58Speaker 1: they're already in. This could be a five big league tournament.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Is gonna be incredible, But I think that it's worth
- 39:04Speaker 1: taking a shot. There's a lot of teams that underperformed.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Nevada for example, they took San Diego State to the
- 39:09Speaker 1: wire and their two meetings. They're now healthy and a
- 39:13Speaker 1: lot of people before the year thought that they could
- 39:15Speaker 1: win this conference. Um, you know, you have two great
- 39:18Speaker 1: guards in Sheffield and Cambridge. You have, you know, a
- 39:21Speaker 1: couple of seven footers in their lineup, Warren Washington's back.
- 39:24Speaker 1: They're dangerous. I think you can find like a one.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I took some of that personally. U n l V.
- 39:30Speaker 1: UNLV plays Wyoming in the first round. UNV has a
- 39:32Speaker 1: real shot to win this and go to the Dance.
- 39:34Speaker 1: They were twenty eight to one to win this two
- 39:36Speaker 1: weeks ago. They're now nine to one, and they're they're
- 39:39Speaker 1: gonna start with the Yoma team they just dominated at home.
- 39:42Speaker 1: They're gonna play them again. I think they win that game. Um,
- 39:44Speaker 1: and they're gonna get a Boise team that they can beat. So,
- 39:48Speaker 1: you know, if you want to have some fun un
- 39:50Speaker 1: l V I sprinkle a little on unv and a
- 39:52Speaker 1: little on Nevada. They're both in the top half. Um.
- 39:55Speaker 1: But I think that there's a real chance that the
- 39:57Speaker 1: Mountain West gets another bid because you have the four
- 40:00Speaker 1: teams that are really good that are already in and
- 40:02Speaker 1: then you know these other teams that dealt with injuries
- 40:04Speaker 1: and or are just surging late. Um. Just it's gonna
- 40:08Speaker 1: be an incredible conference and actually the one I'm looking
- 40:10Speaker 1: forward to more than any other one. Well, team No
- 40:13Speaker 1: Sleep is gonna get a lot of training during conference
- 40:17Speaker 1: championship week when you're staying up for the Mountin West.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Jorney Stuck finish us off with the eight ten Yeah, ten,
- 40:25Speaker 1: you're you're probably gonna get I think VC is gonna
- 40:29Speaker 1: be in Davidson's gonna be in. I think the bet
- 40:32Speaker 1: here is Bonnies from five six when you can find
- 40:36Speaker 1: five to one or better. That's kind of my strike
- 40:38Speaker 1: price this Bonnie's team. Before the year, people thought that
- 40:42Speaker 1: they should be ranked clear favorite in the team in
- 40:45Speaker 1: the conference, excuse me, and they just completely underperformed. Some
- 40:48Speaker 1: teams just didn't have it this year. Buffalo is one
- 40:50Speaker 1: of them. Bonnies all seniors like high expectations, a lot
- 40:56Speaker 1: of talent didn't have it. But of late something happened
- 41:01Speaker 1: and they figured it out that they're playing their best
- 41:03Speaker 1: basketball the year. They need to win this uh the
- 41:05Speaker 1: Agent Tournament to get in. You're getting a really experienced
- 41:08Speaker 1: team that I think as a pretty favorable matchups against
- 41:13Speaker 1: the teams that they're gonna face. A St. Louis team
- 41:15Speaker 1: who can be tricky, looked good against them, they can
- 41:19Speaker 1: beat Davidson kind of out physical them. This is kind
- 41:22Speaker 1: of just like, all right, we're rolling right now, and
- 41:25Speaker 1: this is our chance. A bunch of seniors on Bonnies. Um.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I think that's the move in the eight ten J Yeah,
- 41:32Speaker 1: I agree, it's either Bonnies or Richmond is also kind
- 41:34Speaker 1: of interesting team. They have really good guard play. They've
- 41:36Speaker 1: been under achieved a little bit. They're gonna play VCU
- 41:40Speaker 1: in the in the quarterfinals, team that's pretty vulnerable, really
- 41:44Speaker 1: good defensively, but struggles on the offensive. On the floor, Davidson,
- 41:48Speaker 1: I think is the best team in this conference. They
- 41:49Speaker 1: shoot the ball incredibly well. So if you see them
- 41:52Speaker 1: in the tournament, uh there, they can just shoot the
- 41:55Speaker 1: lights out on you. So Richmond at seven to one
- 41:58Speaker 1: or seven and a half to one or same Bondaventry, Yeah,
- 42:01Speaker 1: like a great stuff. Yet five ones probably the way
- 42:03Speaker 1: to go in the Those are both. Those are both teams.
- 42:06Speaker 1: The one problem with the bodies of zero depth, like
- 42:09Speaker 1: like at all the three dead last and benchments, which
- 42:13Speaker 1: can be a problem, you know over the course of
- 42:16Speaker 1: a short period time you're playing a couple of games.
- 42:18Speaker 1: But you know, I think that they rallied. But Richmond
- 42:21Speaker 1: and say Bonavents are same story, like a bunch of seniors,
- 42:24Speaker 1: really experienced team underperformed. A lot of people thought both
- 42:28Speaker 1: were gonna be tournament teams. This is kind of their chat,
- 42:30Speaker 1: So I like targeting a lot of those teams are
- 42:32Speaker 1: kind of disappointed that our veteran teams underachieved and then
- 42:36Speaker 1: you know this serves as a restart in the case
- 42:38Speaker 1: of bodies. In addition to that, there you know you're
- 42:41Speaker 1: seeing them kind of trend up and surging ahead of
- 42:45Speaker 1: this tournament, which I like to see in their big
- 42:47Speaker 1: man who got hurt, looked great last game, which is
- 42:50Speaker 1: enormous because they basical only played with five guys. Guys
- 42:53Speaker 1: is Howard s said, You've said it all. A CC down,
- 42:57Speaker 1: SECU big ten and consistent big twelve down. Mountain West
- 43:01Speaker 1: might be the best conference in all the land. Virginia
- 43:04Speaker 1: Tech is a nice looking wrong shot. You've got some
- 43:07Speaker 1: money line rollovers in Alabama and Iowa TCU maybe one
- 43:13Speaker 1: Providence five to one. Zafer taking a little taste everywhere
- 43:18Speaker 1: we can get it. That's what we're doing here at
