- 4:05Speaker 3: Good evening and welcome to Believe in the Journey podcast
- 4:08Speaker 3: where I have some amazing people with me tonight. As
- 4:11Speaker 3: you guys can see in my background, we are going
- 4:14Speaker 3: to be talking about the anthology Faith After the Fall,
- 4:18Speaker 3: How God Rebuilt Us When Life Fell Apart. This book
- 4:22Speaker 3: is something that I will be completely honest.
- 4:26Speaker 7: I did not want to do this book, but.
- 4:27Speaker 3: God said, listen, I have something for you to do
- 4:31Speaker 3: and I need you to do it. And I fought
- 4:34Speaker 3: tooth and nail, but as you can see, God won.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And before we even get started, we have to go
- 4:41Speaker 3: to him in prayer. And then I want you guys to.
- 4:44Speaker 8: Meet all of the contributing authors who helped me make
- 4:47Speaker 8: this anthology possible because without them, there would not be
- 4:51Speaker 8: faith after the fall. But let's go to God in prayer.
- 4:55Speaker 8: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing us together as
- 4:57Speaker 8: you do each and every time we are in front
- 4:59Speaker 8: of you. You allow each and every person who said
- 5:02Speaker 8: yes to be a part of this anthology and what
- 5:05Speaker 8: they were able to share and bring to the world.
- 5:10Speaker 8: To whoever picks up this book, they will know the
- 5:13Speaker 8: power that you have to bring them out of whatever
- 5:17Speaker 8: darkness they may be facing. Because as long as we
- 5:20Speaker 8: keep you in the forefront, we can continue to walk
- 5:22Speaker 8: and see the light at the end of the tunnel,
- 5:25Speaker 8: even when darkness is surrounding. So we thank you.
- 5:28Speaker 6: We honor you.
- 5:29Speaker 7: And we bless your holy name. In Jesus' name we pray.
- 5:32Speaker 6: Amen.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Now, there are nine authors.
- 5:39Speaker 7: Ten makes myself. But God is the 11th voice.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So I'm going to explain why I chose the pricing
- 5:46Speaker 3: that I did. for the book. I'm going to explain
- 5:49Speaker 3: that first and then I'm going to introduce all of
- 5:53Speaker 3: the contributing authors and then I want them to introduce
- 5:57Speaker 3: themselves as well. All right, first things first. The reason
- 6:02Speaker 3: I priced the book at $ 21 is because that's when
- 6:05Speaker 3: I started my publishing business, which is Wings of Transformation Publishing.
- 6:10Speaker 3: And the 11 is because, like I said, there were
- 6:15Speaker 3: 10 of us total.
- 6:16Speaker 7: I wanted 10 people to be a part of this book.
- 6:19Speaker 3: God makes the 11th voice and his voice is always going.
- 6:23Speaker 7: To be in the forefront.
- 6:24Speaker 3: So 10 plus one equals 11. So this project would
- 6:29Speaker 3: not be possible if it had not been for God
- 6:31Speaker 3: giving me the vision. So that explains the pricing. And
- 6:36Speaker 3: we have Najit, which she goes by Dee Dee. She's
- 6:40Speaker 3: going to get a little upset with me. I seen
- 6:42Speaker 3: them little eyes.
- 6:43Speaker 5: However, but.
- 6:47Speaker 3: I listen. Everybody don't know you by that, so I
- 6:49Speaker 3: wanted to make sure I said it. But, you know,
- 6:51Speaker 3: we're going to go with Didi in a second. But
- 6:55Speaker 3: that's your author name. We're going to go with that.
- 6:58Speaker 3: And then we have Miss Aletha. We have Latonya. We
- 7:02Speaker 3: have Queen Angela. We have Miss Keisha. We have Miss Opal.
- 7:07Speaker 3: We have Mr.
- 7:07Speaker 6: Thad.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And we have Miss Alma. So these are all of
- 7:13Speaker 3: the people. We're missing one person tonight. And that's Miss Jeanette.
- 7:18Speaker 3: But if she's able to join us later, it's fine.
- 7:22Speaker 3: If not, we still send her the best wishes and
- 7:25Speaker 3: we thank her for her yes for being a part
- 7:27Speaker 3: of this anthology. And I'll share a little bit about
- 7:30Speaker 3: her chapter in the book if she's not able to
- 7:33Speaker 3: come on. But I want to take the opportunity for
- 7:36Speaker 3: each and every person to give a little bit of
- 7:39Speaker 3: a introduction about themselves. And then we'll have a conversation
- 7:43Speaker 3: about that. why you decided to say yes to being
- 7:46Speaker 3: part of Faith After the Fall. So whoever wants to
- 7:49Speaker 3: go first, or do y'all want me to just start
- 7:51Speaker 3: naming names?
- 7:54Speaker 5: Go in the order you just called.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Okay.
- 7:58Speaker 9: Can I go first?
- 8:03Speaker 10: Yes, yes, Ms.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Alma, you can go first.
- 8:06Speaker 11: I have class tonight, so I won't be on for
- 8:10Speaker 11: the whole time. But I am Dr. Minnesota Alma Thomas.
- 8:15Speaker 11: I am a writer. I am a minister. I am
- 8:20Speaker 11: a motivational speaker. And just in case I'm not on,
- 8:25Speaker 11: I decided to join after the fall because a lot
- 8:30Speaker 11: of times we talk about what caused the fall and
- 8:35Speaker 11: how we went through the fall. But after the fall, after...
- 8:40Speaker 11: You grieved after you went through loss. What are you
- 8:44Speaker 11: going to do with your life? What is your purpose?
- 8:48Speaker 11: What is your why? So I decided to join after
- 8:52Speaker 11: the fall because I've had many falls in my life,
- 8:56Speaker 11: but I am still standing. God is still awesome. I'm
- 9:01Speaker 11: pleased to be a part of this anthology, and I'm
- 9:05Speaker 11: sorry I can't stay the whole night, but I have
- 9:08Speaker 11: to go to class.
- 9:10Speaker 6: I'm working on.
- 9:10Speaker 11: My second doctorate degree. So here I am in my bed.
- 9:15Speaker 11: If you notice, I'm in my bed stricken by a stroke,
- 9:20Speaker 11: but I'm still doing what God has.
- 9:23Speaker 12: Called me to do.
- 9:25Speaker 11: So if you have any excuses that you might have fell,
- 9:28Speaker 11: you might have been disappointed, you might have faced rejection,
- 9:32Speaker 11: but God still has purpose for you. And after the fall,
- 9:37Speaker 11: after this, See what God is going to do with
- 9:39Speaker 11: your life. Everybody have a good night and God bless.
- 9:42Speaker 12: Yes, ma'am.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Thank you, Miss Alma.
- 9:47Speaker 5: All right.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Listen, you can't have no excuses. If Miss Alma can
- 9:52Speaker 3: do what she does, you can do what God is
- 9:56Speaker 3: calling you to do without the limitations and without the hesitancy.
- 10:00Speaker 3: it may be a moment of fear where it's it's
- 10:04Speaker 3: in there because we're human we're gonna be fearful of
- 10:07Speaker 3: something new but god always if he gives you that
- 10:10Speaker 3: vision he's gonna provide all of the provision for you
- 10:13Speaker 3: to see it through you just have to trust him
- 10:15Speaker 3: as if you know it's going to be good on
- 10:18Speaker 3: the other side because God is not going to lead
- 10:20Speaker 3: you somewhere. He's not going to provide you the way out.
- 10:25Speaker 6: So Ms.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Alma is doing what she's doing because God has a
- 10:29Speaker 3: plan and a purpose for her life and she's being
- 10:32Speaker 3: obedient to everything he is calling her to do. So
- 10:35Speaker 3: leave the excuses at the door because there's other things
- 10:39Speaker 3: that you got to be doing. If God gave you
- 10:40Speaker 3: the vision, come on, let's get started.
- 10:43Speaker 10: All right, Ms.
- 10:43Speaker 7: Diddy, come on, let's know who you are.
- 10:49Speaker 3: We can't hear you.
- 10:50Speaker 13: You on mute?
- 11:11Speaker 6: Oh, my bad. Okay, I'm here.
- 11:14Speaker 7: Okay, there we go.
- 11:16Speaker 14: My bad, people.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 11:20Speaker 6: Okay, yet again. My name is Najit D. Scott.
- 11:26Speaker 14: This is my third anthology. It's not my first time
- 11:30Speaker 14: working with Sazita, but I enjoy working with her, so
- 11:32Speaker 14: I was definitely willing to sign up. Didn't plan on,
- 11:35Speaker 14: like she said, I didn't plan on leaving because I
- 11:38Speaker 14: had just published my.
- 11:40Speaker 6: And I was like, I'm not writing any books, father.
- 11:43Speaker 6: I'm done.
- 11:44Speaker 13: I'm good.
- 11:45Speaker 6: I'm in school, too. So I'm actually missing a class today,
- 11:48Speaker 6: but it's okay. It's all good.
- 11:49Speaker 4: I got to choose.
- 11:50Speaker 6: But it still remains. I'm like, father, I don't want
- 11:52Speaker 6: to do that.
- 11:53Speaker 14: So like you just said, you got to do what
- 11:55Speaker 14: the father says. You're not going to win, but you
- 11:57Speaker 14: can't ask to go back. But that doesn't mean we're
- 12:00Speaker 14: going to win. So yeah, this is my third anthology,
- 12:03Speaker 14: and I'm just honored to be a part of this
- 12:05Speaker 14: faith after the fall.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Well, thank you for saying yes.
- 12:11Speaker 6: What's more?
- 12:13Speaker 3: All right, Ms.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Aletha. Okay, so I'm Aletha.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I also did a book through Trevita.
- 12:25Speaker 10: Beautiful, amazing way that the Father allowed us to meet.
- 12:32Speaker 10: We did not plan to meet, but he had plans
- 12:35Speaker 10: for us to meet. Faith After the Fall, she spoke
- 12:39Speaker 10: to me about it. And I was probably one of
- 12:42Speaker 10: the initial people that heard her say.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Uh-uh, I'm going to do it.
- 12:48Speaker 10: And I also was there when the father told her, yes, she.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Is going to do it.
- 12:56Speaker 10: So she asked me about it, and I ain't going
- 12:59Speaker 10: to lie, I was on the other end after we
- 13:01Speaker 10: hung up the phone, like, I'm not doing anything.
- 13:05Speaker 6: But, um.
- 13:09Speaker 13: Like Ms.
- 13:10Speaker 10: Alma said, you know, after the fall, the faith after
- 13:14Speaker 10: the fall is what really guides us into being who
- 13:20Speaker 10: we were born to be, who we were planned to be,
- 13:22Speaker 10: who we were created to be. And even we go
- 13:29Speaker 10: through things daily. We go through things all the time.
- 13:32Speaker 10: You know, you're not going to go through life having
- 13:35Speaker 10: twists and turns, ups and downs. but just allowing the
- 13:39Speaker 10: Father to really use you in a way, because I'm
- 13:44Speaker 10: even going through some things in my life, but just
- 13:48Speaker 10: being able to be a part of this and be
- 13:50Speaker 10: able to have someone read what we have been through
- 13:56Speaker 10: in our lives and help other people and let them
- 14:00Speaker 10: know that they're not going through the things that they're
- 14:02Speaker 10: going through in their lives alone. means a lot that
- 14:06Speaker 10: means so much and um to be honest with you
- 14:10Speaker 10: um i felt a lot more fulfilled um i want
- 14:15Speaker 10: to say that trevita and even miss angela she don't
- 14:19Speaker 10: even know but i really really appreciate just having like
- 14:24Speaker 10: they are even if you don't want them to come
- 14:26Speaker 10: help or talk to you or encourage you They.
- 14:29Speaker 13: Do it anyway.
- 14:32Speaker 10: So not saying the faith after the fall, you still
- 14:35Speaker 10: go through things. And I'm, you know, I'm blessed to
- 14:39Speaker 10: be able to have people in my corner. So it's
- 14:42Speaker 10: been a blessing to be able to be a part
- 14:44Speaker 10: of this.
- 14:45Speaker 3: And I'm thankful.
- 14:47Speaker 10: I thank you again, Trevita, for allowing me to be
- 14:50Speaker 10: a part of faith.
- 14:52Speaker 5: After the fall.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Thank you for saying yes.
- 14:55Speaker 10: All right, Ms.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Angela, we're going to go to you because I don't
- 14:58Speaker 3: know what happened to Tanya, so we're going to go
- 15:00Speaker 3: to you next.
- 15:03Speaker 5: I'm glad I'll say that from back home, but I am, I.
- 15:10Speaker 12: Don't know.
- 15:10Speaker 5: I wear a lot of hair.
- 15:14Speaker 9: One thing I do is I love to share, you know,
- 15:21Speaker 9: things that God has done in my life because I
- 15:23Speaker 9: know that this journey that I've been on it was
- 15:26Speaker 9: not just for me, but it was for people that
- 15:29Speaker 9: I was going.
- 15:30Speaker 5: To come in contact with.
- 15:32Speaker 9: In the book, I share a traumatic experience that I
- 15:37Speaker 9: don't wish on anyone, but it's something that I carried
- 15:41Speaker 9: inside for a long time. I didn't tell nobody. It
- 15:45Speaker 9: happened right before my mom passed, and I just felt
- 15:49Speaker 9: like nobody wants to hear it because I know the
- 15:52Speaker 9: first thing they're going to say is, oh, she just
- 15:55Speaker 9: And I just didn't want to be that person.
- 15:57Speaker 5: So I carried it for a long time.
- 16:00Speaker 9: But as I began to deal with my mental health
- 16:04Speaker 9: and my wholeness, wanting to be whole inside and out,
- 16:09Speaker 9: wanting to be healed, truly healed, I knew that I
- 16:13Speaker 9: had to deal with some of those underlying things that
- 16:17Speaker 9: bring about procrastination, that bring about doubt, that bring about
- 16:22Speaker 9: a lot of things that we experience. growing closer to
- 16:29Speaker 9: God and the spiritual journey that I have been on,
- 16:32Speaker 9: it has allowed me to truly share some of the
- 16:36Speaker 9: experiences that I had because I've come to realize that
- 16:40Speaker 9: our experiences Or some of the things that other people
- 16:45Speaker 9: need to help them through. Because a lot of people
- 16:48Speaker 9: are not going to church, traditional church. A lot of
- 16:51Speaker 9: people are not getting it. And a lot of people
- 16:53Speaker 9: want to see examples. They want to see.
- 16:56Speaker 5: And live in color these things.
- 16:59Speaker 9: And they want to hear from people truly how they
- 17:03Speaker 9: overcame and how they got through. So being able to
- 17:07Speaker 9: tell somebody how you picked yourself up and dust yourself off.
- 17:10Speaker 9: You hear that scripture in the Bible that a righteous
- 17:14Speaker 9: falls seven times.
- 17:16Speaker 5: And we hear that all the time.
- 17:18Speaker 9: But people be believing, well, how can I fall all
- 17:20Speaker 9: these times and get up? But they dust themselves off
- 17:23Speaker 9: and they got up. So we are examples. We are
- 17:26Speaker 9: non-examples of people that may have failed at something.
- 17:30Speaker 13: Come on now.
- 17:31Speaker 5: But we were able to.
- 17:33Speaker 9: Dust ourselves off, pick ourselves up and carry on and
- 17:37Speaker 9: be an example to somebody else that may be going
- 17:39Speaker 9: through the same thing. There may be another angel out
- 17:42Speaker 9: there experiencing the same thing. It may be a DD
- 17:44Speaker 9: out there experiencing what I've been through or what one
- 17:47Speaker 9: of the other co-authors went through. But the ability for
- 17:52Speaker 9: us to be able to share these things and allow
- 17:55Speaker 9: them to come forth, it just brings him glory because
- 18:00Speaker 9: he said that.
- 18:02Speaker 9: He's given us gifts and talents. We got to understand
- 18:05Speaker 9: that he knew everything about us. He knew every fall
- 18:07Speaker 9: that we was going to face. And he knew what
- 18:12Speaker 9: we needed to get through those things. So the gift
- 18:16Speaker 9: of writing, the gift of being able to express yourself
- 18:20Speaker 9: is one of the things that he placed in us
- 18:21Speaker 9: so that we can be able to do that, so
- 18:23Speaker 9: that we can be able to tell somebody else. We
- 18:28Speaker 9: are ministering in our own special way.
- 18:32Speaker 5: Without being ministers.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 9: And that's one of the things. We operate in these
- 18:38Speaker 9: gifts and these talents. So that's why I said yes,
- 18:42Speaker 9: because I just felt like that was just one of
- 18:46Speaker 9: the things that I had to do. The calling that's
- 18:50Speaker 9: on my life is so huge that I feel like
- 18:54Speaker 9: every opportunity I get to bring him glory, I have
- 18:58Speaker 9: to do that.
- 19:00Speaker 5: So that's why I shared in this book.
- 19:03Speaker 9: And I thank God for Trevita's obedience. I don't know
- 19:10Speaker 9: why I was going to say Trevita, but Trevita's obedience
- 19:16Speaker 9: in doing this book. And for every co-author that shared,
- 19:22Speaker 9: thank you for being obedient. Thanks.
- 19:26Speaker 5: That's it.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Thank you for saying yes. Okay, there goes Tanya. Now
- 19:31Speaker 3: we need your introduction and why you said yes to
- 19:34Speaker 3: being part of this anthology.
- 19:38Speaker 15: This is a lot of static where you are.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Okay. hear you now.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Try to go out and come back in. Okay.
- 19:56Speaker 6: Okay.
- 19:56Speaker 13: Ms.
- 19:56Speaker 16: Keisha?
- 19:57Speaker 2: Hi.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Can you guys hear me?
- 20:02Speaker 16: Yeah, what's your name?
- 20:04Speaker 10: What's your name?
- 20:06Speaker 15: How are you?
- 20:09Speaker 6: So.
- 20:10Speaker 3: I'm here. Sorry, my phone is in the way.
- 20:14Speaker 7: No, we can barely hear you.
- 20:18Speaker 16: You can barely hear me?
- 20:19Speaker 3: Go out and come back in. Okay.
- 20:21Speaker 7: There we go.
- 20:22Speaker 6: Okay, go ahead.
- 20:23Speaker 7: Sorry, Ms.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Keisha.
- 20:27Speaker 16: Good morning. I mean, good evening, guys.
- 20:30Speaker 17: Hey.
- 20:31Speaker 16: So, my reasoning is why I say yes was It
- 20:38Speaker 16: was a quick opportunity from Ope when she brushed it
- 20:41Speaker 16: by me one day. And I was like, what's that?
- 20:45Speaker 16: What's an anthology? I never did anything like this. It
- 20:49Speaker 16: was something, I guess, to just get out of my
- 20:51Speaker 16: comfort zone. I had another, something else I wanted to
- 20:56Speaker 16: talk about. I have a bunch of stories in me,
- 20:59Speaker 16: but because I'm a little shy, I'm kind of quiet.
- 21:02Speaker 16: I talk a lot, but only to people that I know.
- 21:05Speaker 16: So I know I need to let it out, but
- 21:08Speaker 16: I figured a book would be good because then they
- 21:10Speaker 16: can't one-up me on my story or, you know.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 21:15Speaker 16: I mean, we all have a story, but for some reason,
- 21:17Speaker 16: growing up, whenever I did talk, I think I seen
- 21:21Speaker 16: somewhere where it says adults who talk a lot now
- 21:24Speaker 16: is because they weren't allowed to speak when they were children.
- 21:27Speaker 16: So all of my stories, I'm like, I'm just going
- 21:29Speaker 16: to put it in a book and then they can
- 21:30Speaker 16: either open it up or sit it down so we
- 21:32Speaker 16: don't have to worry.
- 21:33Speaker 3: But at least I let it out. Right.
- 21:35Speaker 16: So during the time I was going to, do it
- 21:38Speaker 16: I had that incident at my job and it overcame
- 21:42Speaker 16: like my mindset and everything something that I thought was
- 21:45Speaker 16: really minute and so I had to get it off
- 21:48Speaker 16: my brain right there just to kind of so I
- 21:50Speaker 16: kind of did a dump so that's what this was
- 21:53Speaker 16: this was like a little dump just so that I
- 21:55Speaker 16: can get into writing and just see how it goes
- 21:58Speaker 16: see how this kind of works out to get out
- 22:02Speaker 16: of my you know get out of my comfort zone
- 22:04Speaker 16: to see if this is something I want to continue
- 22:06Speaker 16: to do I've never done anything like this before. So
- 22:11Speaker 16: we'll see how it goes. But I really, really appreciate you.
- 22:14Speaker 16: And thank you for even giving me the opportunity to
- 22:17Speaker 16: do so.
- 22:18Speaker 3: You're welcome. I'm glad you said yes. And I definitely
- 22:22Speaker 3: understand how it is when it's the first opportunity for
- 22:27Speaker 3: you to actually share your work with someone else outside
- 22:31Speaker 3: of close people.
- 22:32Speaker 18: So.
- 22:34Speaker 3: You're not the only first author in this anthology. So
- 22:39Speaker 3: I want to say thank you for saying yes.
- 22:43Speaker 12: Ms.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Opal?
- 22:53Speaker 17: Good evening, everyone.
- 22:55Speaker 6: Hey.
- 22:56Speaker 17: Hey, so I said yes to this anthology because I
- 23:01Speaker 17: had a life-changing event. That occurred suddenly, unexpectedly. And for me,
- 23:10Speaker 17: it seemed to come right on time to participate in
- 23:14Speaker 17: this one. It came when it was much needed.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I said yes.
- 23:20Speaker 17: Because I felt that I could help someone else out
- 23:22Speaker 17: that was going through something similar because I know I'm
- 23:26Speaker 17: not the only one that has experienced what I went through.
- 23:30Speaker 17: And it is the encouraging part of this is, you know,
- 23:35Speaker 17: the collaboration we have as co-authors on this project and
- 23:39Speaker 17: that we didn't let the fall finish us, that we
- 23:42Speaker 17: kept going and that we do see what is possible
- 23:48Speaker 17: with God after our tribulations and after our trials. And
- 23:54Speaker 17: this is my second anthology that I'm a part of,
- 23:57Speaker 17: but I'm glad to be a part of this project.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Thank you. All right. What's your, um, introduction and the
- 24:06Speaker 3: reason you said yes. I can't hear you.
- 24:14Speaker 13: Since I don't know if I got an introduction. I mean,
- 24:16Speaker 13: you know, y'all got to pray for me.
- 24:21Speaker 19: I don't have so many ups and downs, so many trials.
- 24:27Speaker 13: Um, This was, I guess it was fitting. Sis had
- 24:33Speaker 13: been on me about writing.
- 24:34Speaker 19: I guess that's just something that she and I both
- 24:37Speaker 19: had picked up over the years with some of the
- 24:39Speaker 19: childhood trauma that we've endured. Just being in our space
- 24:43Speaker 19: confined that we just had to figure out a way
- 24:46Speaker 19: to unpack.
- 24:47Speaker 13: Some of the things that we was dealing with.
- 24:49Speaker 19: I think it was one of my sixth grade teachers
- 24:52Speaker 19: that told me to stop being mad and to express
- 24:56Speaker 19: my feelings in writing. So I guess mine started back
- 24:59Speaker 19: in middle school. But it's just been a journey. Some
- 25:07Speaker 19: of the visions that I have about things that God
- 25:10Speaker 19: is telling me to be.
- 25:11Speaker 13: Obedient to, to move.
- 25:13Speaker 19: It was just fitting for Faith After the Fall because
- 25:17Speaker 19: I've had some real trials and tests over these years,
- 25:22Speaker 19: whether it was health issues from injuries when playing ball
- 25:26Speaker 19: or divorce or setbacks and jobs and just trying to
- 25:31Speaker 19: figure out what my life was going to be like.
- 25:34Speaker 19: And just turned it over to God and let him lead.
- 25:37Speaker 19: So it's just been an amazing ride. So that's just
- 25:42Speaker 19: me in a nutshell. From being a father, a therapist,
- 25:47Speaker 19: a coach, to taking a whole different path to going
- 25:52Speaker 19: into banking.
- 25:53Speaker 13: So kind of a jack of all trades, a master
- 25:55Speaker 13: of none.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Well, why did you say yes to being part of
- 26:01Speaker 3: this anthology?
- 26:04Speaker 19: I guess it was time for me to move outside
- 26:06Speaker 19: of my comfort zone to share. I started writing my
- 26:10Speaker 19: prayers and sending out. It started with just close family.
- 26:15Speaker 19: And that was in 2016 when I started doing that.
- 26:18Speaker 19: And now it's blossomed to well over 300 and something
- 26:21Speaker 19: people that my prayers go to daily.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Wow.
- 26:24Speaker 19: And so in this season, man, it's just time for
- 26:27Speaker 19: me to move into what God is saying, to be obedient,
- 26:30Speaker 19: to be called, be all that I can be for him.
- 26:32Speaker 19: Part of my reasoning to saying yes.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Well, I thank you for saying yes. I didn't have
- 26:40Speaker 3: to push too hard.
- 26:42Speaker 6: All right, Ms.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Jeanette, why did you say yes and give us a
- 26:48Speaker 3: little introduction about you?
- 26:57Speaker 5: You're on mute, Sinead. Sinead, you're muted.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Well, while she gets unmuted, I'm just going to introduce myself.
- 27:21Speaker 3: And as you guys know, I'm Trevita. I am the
- 27:24Speaker 3: host of Believe in the Journey podcast. I'm also the
- 27:28Speaker 3: visionary behind Faith After the Fall. And I was also
- 27:33Speaker 3: the editor and publisher of Faith After the Fall. So
- 27:38Speaker 3: I wear very many hats. And when I say I
- 27:43Speaker 3: did not start my writing to just become a publisher,
- 27:48Speaker 3: that was not even in my vision card. That wasn't
- 27:51Speaker 3: even in my basket. of cards that I have for myself.
- 27:55Speaker 3: But when you have God as the head of your life,
- 27:59Speaker 3: he's going to show you things and he's going to
- 28:02Speaker 3: provide visions and all of these things. And you, I,
- 28:07Speaker 3: a few times I'll be honest with you. I told God,
- 28:10Speaker 3: he kept sending those visions to the wrong address. They,
- 28:13Speaker 3: they didn't belong to me. They, he needed to send
- 28:15Speaker 3: that to somebody else, you know? Cause he got my
- 28:19Speaker 3: address mixed up with somebody else. And he like, I
- 28:22Speaker 3: know who I'm talking to and I know who I'm
- 28:24Speaker 3: dealing with. And this is for you. And so the
- 28:28Speaker 3: first book that I did was some poetry. I put
- 28:31Speaker 3: 26 of my favorite poems together and I went from
- 28:36Speaker 3: there and I was like, God, if this is what
- 28:38Speaker 3: you want me to do, then so be it. And
- 28:42Speaker 3: I put them in that book. And when I tell
- 28:43Speaker 3: you the book didn't look like much, but I tell people,
- 28:49Speaker 3: because I had somebody tell me that they would have
- 28:51Speaker 3: never put their name on that assignment. And I told
- 28:55Speaker 3: them that wasn't your assignment. God didn't give it to you.
- 28:57Speaker 3: So your name should not be on what was assigned
- 29:00Speaker 3: to me. So therefore it ain't yours to put your
- 29:04Speaker 3: name on. And I did what God told me to do.
- 29:07Speaker 3: He didn't tell me to make it perfect. He said
- 29:09Speaker 3: to do it and he would do the rest. And
- 29:12Speaker 3: I've been obedient ever since. So, Whenever God gives you something, yes,
- 29:19Speaker 3: if you like me, I know he be putting me
- 29:21Speaker 3: on hold and I don't got a whole music song
- 29:26Speaker 3: and a whole playlist of whole music that he has
- 29:29Speaker 3: for me whenever I call and start asking questions. And
- 29:33Speaker 3: he be like, uh-uh, not today.
- 29:34Speaker 7: I'm not dealing with you.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Go on hold. I'll be back with you in a
- 29:37Speaker 3: couple of minutes or maybe even tomorrow. Because we not
- 29:40Speaker 3: doing this today. I gave you an assignment. Go on,
- 29:43Speaker 3: do what I said to do. If you ain't doing it,
- 29:45Speaker 3: don't call me back. and of course call them back
- 29:49Speaker 3: because I got.
- 29:50Speaker 6: Questions you got questions yeah I.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Got questions and I need a little bit of clarification
- 29:54Speaker 3: that's all I'm trying and God is like I don't
- 29:58Speaker 3: need to clarify what I just told you to do
- 30:01Speaker 3: just do what I said and so yeah but Ms.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Jeanette why did you say yes and give us a
- 30:08Speaker 3: little bit of information about.
- 30:10Speaker 12: You well good evening everyone my name is Jeanette Johnson
- 30:15Speaker 12: and Actually, this is my first time.
- 30:21Speaker 13: Working.
- 30:22Speaker 12: No, I'm not going to even say first time because
- 30:24Speaker 12: I had worked with Trevita on podcasts. I'm a podcast
- 30:30Speaker 12: host over there on the crew podcast. I have written
- 30:34Speaker 12: in Angela's anthologies, but no one else's. I've written a
- 30:42Speaker 12: book about what I've been through. And just like Trita said, that,
- 30:47Speaker 12: you know, I just didn't think my book wasn't, you know, like,
- 30:52Speaker 12: you know, what everybody was looking for. But it was
- 30:58Speaker 12: what God had me to share, put it out there.
- 31:03Speaker 12: The reason why I said yes, I just, we had
- 31:08Speaker 12: just finished with the rebirth journey, the journey of rebirth.
- 31:13Speaker 12: series with, um, was it a series? No, I think
- 31:16Speaker 12: it was anthology, but, um, and doing that, doing, um,
- 31:24Speaker 12: that one we wrote on, um, she had us break
- 31:28Speaker 12: down rebirth and we gave, uh, we did a poem
- 31:32Speaker 12: for each letter. And so, you know, I was going
- 31:37Speaker 12: through my, you know, going through the changes and stuff.
- 31:40Speaker 12: And when I seen your post, I strolled by it.
- 31:46Speaker 12: Then I came back and I looked at it.
- 31:49Speaker 10: Then I was like, nah.
- 31:52Speaker 12: And then God just kept telling me, yes, this is
- 31:57Speaker 12: what you're going to do. And I was like, no. So,
- 32:00Speaker 12: you know, um, I reached out to Trevita and I
- 32:06Speaker 12: was praying that she didn't respond, but her little fingers
- 32:10Speaker 12: respond quick. I'm like, why did I just send her
- 32:15Speaker 12: an email? Is she just sitting by the computer? Just like,
- 32:20Speaker 12: what's going on? She typed real fast. And so I said,
- 32:25Speaker 12: Oh Lord. Okay. So, you know, I began to, think
- 32:31Speaker 12: about it because my fall came my fall began November
- 32:37Speaker 12: 10th 2023 when I found my son unresponsive and that
- 32:44Speaker 12: took a lot out of me I went into a
- 32:47Speaker 12: depression um and I lost who I was as a
- 32:53Speaker 12: person I literally changed my name I changed my name
- 32:58Speaker 12: to grief grief I will go on Facebook and you know,
- 33:04Speaker 12: on Facebook, you find a lot of, um, groups and
- 33:09Speaker 12: you'll see the mothers grieving mothers. I don't know why
- 33:12Speaker 12: that fell into my, um, algorithm, but that's, you know,
- 33:17Speaker 12: and I joined, I was joined on the groups, you know,
- 33:20Speaker 12: so I'm taking on their identity. I didn't have no
- 33:24Speaker 12: problems looking at, um, mortuary um videos and stuff with
- 33:32Speaker 12: how they embalm the body you know this is the
- 33:35Speaker 12: stuff that i was dealing with and i couldn't share
- 33:39Speaker 12: that with nobody else so i'm taking on all of
- 33:43Speaker 12: these identities and i forgot about myself and so um
- 33:52Speaker 12: you know i wanted to break free from that because
- 33:57Speaker 12: i know who my son was, and I know where
- 34:03Speaker 12: my son is resting at. He's resting in the bosom
- 34:07Speaker 12: of his father. And so it was like, Sinead, it's
- 34:14Speaker 12: time for you to get back to living. You have
- 34:18Speaker 12: to live. So when I went to, after, now we
- 34:24Speaker 12: in between the books.
- 34:26Speaker 13: I just finished reading.
- 34:28Speaker 12: The rebirth book I went to to Denver I flew
- 34:34Speaker 12: to Denver because you know my husband is incarcerated wrongfully
- 34:38Speaker 12: out there that's a whole other subject and his bishop
- 34:43Speaker 12: was doing his mass baptism they didn't want to baptize
- 34:50Speaker 12: in a church they wanted to go to we went
- 34:53Speaker 12: to a reservoir in Denver And I said, you know what?
- 35:01Speaker 12: I just came off of doing the rebirth. Now it's
- 35:07Speaker 12: really time for me to be rebirthed. I can't go
- 35:12Speaker 12: back in the womb, but I can be rebirthed. So
- 35:18Speaker 12: I went July 20th. I rededicated myself to the Lord,
- 35:23Speaker 12: to God. And I was reborn again. And I felt
- 35:27Speaker 12: his spirit fall on me. And this felt good to
- 35:33Speaker 12: finish the faith after the fall because I changed my identity.
- 35:41Speaker 12: And I related to Naomi and Ruth 1 and 20.
- 35:47Speaker 12: When Naomi said, don't call me Naomi, call me Marta
- 35:52Speaker 12: because God has dealt with me bitterly. And if you
- 35:56Speaker 12: guys know what she was referring to, she lost her
- 36:00Speaker 12: husband and her son and she changed who she was.
- 36:05Speaker 12: And God asked her, who told you to change your name?
- 36:12Speaker 12: That ain't what, that ain't who I called you to be.
- 36:16Speaker 12: And so God told me, he spoke to me through
- 36:20Speaker 12: that message. And I changed my name. So now I'm
- 36:30Speaker 12: re-changing my name to who God called me to be.
- 36:36Speaker 12: And so that's the reason why I said yes, because
- 36:39Speaker 12: I don't want a mother or a father to forget
- 36:46Speaker 12: their identity that who God chose you to be because
- 36:51Speaker 12: we're on assignment.
- 36:53Speaker 19: Yes.
- 36:54Speaker 12: And I don't want them to go like I went looking.
- 36:59Speaker 12: You know, boy, because I'm telling you, I can look
- 37:02Speaker 12: at stuff from the morgue. You know, all that stuff
- 37:06Speaker 12: I never could look at because I was afraid of.
- 37:09Speaker 12: But I opened the door for Satan. I gave Satan
- 37:12Speaker 12: a way to come in to change me. I walked
- 37:16Speaker 12: away from fellowship. And I had to get back. toward
- 37:25Speaker 12: to who God who I was meant to be in
- 37:29Speaker 12: God and that is I was he said I'm perfectly
- 37:35Speaker 12: made he said I'm seated in a royal priesthood I
- 37:41Speaker 12: am the daughter of the most high that's who Sinead
- 37:47Speaker 12: is I am a warrior yes ma'am and so That's
- 37:54Speaker 12: the reason why I said yes. And Trevita, I am
- 37:58Speaker 12: so thankful to you for allowing me to participate among
- 38:03Speaker 12: these wonderful authors. And Angela, I thank you for constantly
- 38:09Speaker 12: pushing me. If you want somebody, a younger sister to
- 38:13Speaker 12: whoop on you, talk to Angela. Cause your boy, she would, she,
- 38:18Speaker 12: she know how to say some things to you and
- 38:21Speaker 12: she ain't knowing that she's talking to your spirit. But, yeah,
- 38:24Speaker 12: she know how to say some things. I'm sorry I
- 38:27Speaker 12: can't stay with you guys longer, but I will be
- 38:29Speaker 12: listening to you. I have to get ready to go
- 38:32Speaker 12: to work tonight. I work two jobs. I go to
- 38:35Speaker 12: two schools. And I'm a mother of four. My son,
- 38:42Speaker 12: my only son, passed away. I have four grandsons. And
- 38:46Speaker 12: I do a podcast called Let's Talk About It with
- 38:49Speaker 12: Angela on Wrongful Convictions. You guys, don't never forget your identity.
- 38:56Speaker 12: Stay on your assignment. What God has for you is
- 39:01Speaker 12: for you.
- 39:03Speaker 6: Yes, ma'am.
- 39:04Speaker 12: To God be the glory. That's all I can say.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Yes, ma'am. I thank you for saying yes. And I
- 39:12Speaker 3: thank you for your testimony tonight. And anyone who picks
- 39:17Speaker 3: up this book and reads your testimony inside this book,
- 39:21Speaker 3: is going to be moved by it.
- 39:24Speaker 7: Trust and believe, because I know I was just.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Reading it and editing and doing all of that with
- 39:31Speaker 3: all of you guys' story. You know, I had to,
- 39:35Speaker 3: some days, I'll be honest, I had to put it
- 39:37Speaker 3: down while I was editing so that I could get
- 39:40Speaker 3: myself together so that I can see to do what
- 39:43Speaker 3: I was doing because the tears were there. And so,
- 39:46Speaker 3: you know, it's a beautiful experience and I'm grateful to
- 39:50Speaker 3: each and every person who shared their most vulnerable moments
- 39:54Speaker 3: with me and allowed me to put this in a
- 39:57Speaker 3: book for others to be able to see the power
- 40:00Speaker 3: that God has if you just be obedient and trust
- 40:03Speaker 3: him to move in your life.
- 40:05Speaker 7: Now, I got a couple of questions that I want
- 40:07Speaker 7: to ask.
- 40:09Speaker 3: As a group and whoever wants to answer first, just
- 40:13Speaker 3: go ahead and answer.
- 40:14Speaker 7: But the first question.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Yes, OK honey, go ahead.
- 40:20Speaker 7: We we need we need.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Joe introduction and why you see.
- 40:24Speaker 6: Mm hmm.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Well I thank you for saying yes because it's not
- 41:19Speaker 3: always easy to say yes and to open yourself up
- 41:23Speaker 3: to be vulnerable for other people and to put yourself
- 41:28Speaker 3: in that space I say thank you to everybody my
- 41:32Speaker 3: question is Have you ever experienced a season of preparation
- 41:38Speaker 3: that felt like punishment?
- 41:41Speaker 6: I have.
- 41:45Speaker 5: I can say that I have.
- 41:48Speaker 20: During my separation and divorce, I felt like maybe I
- 41:55Speaker 20: was supposed to be by myself for the rest of
- 41:57Speaker 20: my life. It was instilled in my head that Nobody
- 42:04Speaker 20: would want me because of a disability. And that took
- 42:08Speaker 20: me to a place of thinking back to my adoption.
- 42:13Speaker 20: You know, thinking, you know, maybe that's the truth because
- 42:17Speaker 20: my biological parents gave me up for adoption. And just,
- 42:22Speaker 20: you know, maybe I'm just too much to handle. But
- 42:26Speaker 20: God told me that I am enough.
- 42:30Speaker 12: Oh, goodness.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 20: God said that I'm enough and you know, that's, that's
- 42:34Speaker 20: something that I take with me.
- 42:37Speaker 6: Okay.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Anybody else want to answer that.
- 42:42Speaker 12: One?
- 42:42Speaker 6: Well, I'll answer that. Uh, I feel like I'm currently
- 42:45Speaker 6: been in it for a while.
- 42:47Speaker 7: Okay.
- 42:48Speaker 13: Okay.
- 42:49Speaker 6: I was, uh, uh, like Latonya, I was married as well,
- 42:52Speaker 6: but I was married for almost 21 years.
- 42:53Speaker 14: I was with them for almost 25 years.
- 42:56Speaker 6: Got out of the marriage, uh, And in November 17th,
- 43:00Speaker 6: which is ironic.
- 43:02Speaker 14: Because that was actually the date my mom, my adopted
- 43:04Speaker 14: mom passed.
- 43:05Speaker 6: It was like God and mom had a discussion until
- 43:07Speaker 6: we sent her out. Okay, okay.
- 43:10Speaker 14: But it also turned out that I was also sick
- 43:13Speaker 14: and didn't know it. I was busy being a nurse,
- 43:16Speaker 14: a caregiver and all of that. And God said, yeah,
- 43:19Speaker 14: that's enough. And one day he told me, it's over.
- 43:21Speaker 3: It's over.
- 43:23Speaker 17: I mean, it's over.
- 43:24Speaker 6: And he said, it's over. And he told my husband's
- 43:28Speaker 6: face across my eyes. And I said, not my marriage.
- 43:31Speaker 6: There's no way. I said, did you honor marriage? He said,
- 43:34Speaker 6: I honored those I put together. I didn't put y'all together.
- 43:37Speaker 7: It was so time to go.
- 43:38Speaker 3: That's a hard pill to swallow, too.
- 43:41Speaker 7: And that's a deadly one.
- 43:45Speaker 3: But that's always a thing that you have to be
- 43:47Speaker 3: mindful of.
- 43:49Speaker 7: If God is putting you together, there is no, no.
- 43:52Speaker 12: Yes.
- 43:53Speaker 3: No signs and signals. There's no hesitation. There's none of
- 43:56Speaker 3: those things.
- 43:58Speaker 14: And then when we got together, I had just lost
- 44:00Speaker 14: my adoptive mom.
- 44:01Speaker 6: So I was really still grieving. So when I.
- 44:05Speaker 14: Got with him, I was still in the grief mode.
- 44:08Speaker 14: And the Lord told me, he said, I kept you
- 44:10Speaker 14: all together because you kept praying. So you stopped praying.
- 44:12Speaker 14: I had stopped praying for like three years because I
- 44:14Speaker 14: wasn't your wife.
- 44:15Speaker 6: I was a nurse.
- 44:16Speaker 7: I wasn't your daughter's cook.
- 44:17Speaker 6: I wasn't your wife. So why am I going to
- 44:19Speaker 6: pray for a marriage that I really didn't feel like
- 44:20Speaker 6: I was in it? So, obviously, what I got to now,
- 44:23Speaker 6: I can tell you, it's really going down.
- 44:25Speaker 14: That was my walk of faith. I had never done that.
- 44:27Speaker 14: I flew two planes and had a broken stunt and
- 44:30Speaker 14: was not supposed to fly.
- 44:32Speaker 7: Yeah, that's not.
- 44:33Speaker 6: I was not supposed to fly.
- 44:36Speaker 3: But God was in the midst of that.
- 44:38Speaker 7: God was in the midst of a situation.
- 44:40Speaker 3: If you trust and believe, because I know that all
- 44:44Speaker 3: too well. Just even with the situation with my children
- 44:48Speaker 3: just recently as they were coming back from the beach.
- 44:51Speaker 3: And they had a tiger to blow out.
- 44:54Speaker 7: From the time my son first called.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Me at 1 a.m., the first thing I began to
- 45:01Speaker 3: do was pray. And when I tell you, I prayed
- 45:04Speaker 3: until I got to my children. And the thing of
- 45:08Speaker 3: that is they said that they had two sheriff's officers
- 45:17Speaker 3: or whatever. Drive past them, did not offer them any
- 45:21Speaker 3: assistance or anything. And my prayer was, God, do not,
- 45:26Speaker 3: because they were in the, in my opinion, it probably
- 45:32Speaker 3: may have been a little sundown town or whatever. But
- 45:35Speaker 3: I prayed and I was like, God, don't let my
- 45:39Speaker 3: children be harassed by the police. Keep them safe and
- 45:43Speaker 3: keep them protected until I'm able to get there. And
- 45:46Speaker 3: when I got there, it was a sheriff's officer that
- 45:50Speaker 3: literally drove past us, staring back out of his window,
- 45:55Speaker 3: looking at us. Did not stop. Did not ask, you know, anything.
- 46:00Speaker 3: But I know God covered and protected my children. Because
- 46:03Speaker 3: it wasn't until 630 the next morning until I could
- 46:08Speaker 3: get to them. And they were safe and they were protected.
- 46:12Speaker 3: But I know God covered my children.
- 46:15Speaker 6: So.
- 46:17Speaker 3: If you believe in God and you trust him, he's
- 46:20Speaker 3: going to answer your prayers and he's going to keep
- 46:22Speaker 3: you covered, even in the midst. The problem is we
- 46:26Speaker 3: get so hung up on when things go wrong in
- 46:29Speaker 3: our lives, we automatically assume that that's the devil attacking us.
- 46:33Speaker 3: And nine times out of ten, it's the result of
- 46:36Speaker 3: the decisions that we've made and we put ourselves in them.
- 46:39Speaker 3: And then we want to blame the devil. No, you
- 46:42Speaker 3: can't blame the devil for that.
- 46:43Speaker 7: You made that choice.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Just like when we put stuff into our GPS and
- 46:47Speaker 3: it is rerouted. We have gone the wrong direction. God
- 46:51Speaker 3: did not even put us in that direction. We think
- 46:54Speaker 3: that we know better than him sometimes. And it's like rerouted.
- 46:58Speaker 3: I said, I didn't tell you to go that way.
- 47:00Speaker 3: You chose your free will and you did it anyway.
- 47:02Speaker 3: So now you got to deal with the consequences of that.
- 47:05Speaker 3: I'm still going to be here, but I'm going to
- 47:07Speaker 3: be reprimanded because I told you not to do it
- 47:09Speaker 3: in the first place.
- 47:10Speaker 7: So it's one of those situations. Guys, GPS is never wrong.
- 47:14Speaker 3: He's going to get you to your destination. You just
- 47:16Speaker 3: got to trust and believe that the way he's taking
- 47:19Speaker 3: you is the way that you don't have to go.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Is it going to be a straight path? Absolutely not.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Because when you're praying and asking God for something, he's praying,
- 47:27Speaker 3: he's he's preparing the situation for you. And some of
- 47:31Speaker 3: those hard situations are giving you the lessons and the
- 47:34Speaker 3: tools that you need to get through. And to be
- 47:36Speaker 3: on the level that he's preparing you for. And so
- 47:39Speaker 3: if you're not paying attention, you think, oh, the devil
- 47:42Speaker 3: just attacking me. No, that's your preparation for the prayer
- 47:45Speaker 3: that you pray and that you ask God for. And
- 47:48Speaker 3: in order for him to give you where you gotta go,
- 47:51Speaker 3: it's a thing that I say, pray, prepare, and position.
- 47:54Speaker 3: God is preparing you for the position that you pray for.
- 47:57Speaker 3: But if you're not in the mood to get to
- 48:00Speaker 3: where you want God to take you, then stop praying
- 48:03Speaker 3: and asking him for it. Because God is God all
- 48:05Speaker 3: by himself. He don't need nothing from us but obedience.
- 48:09Speaker 3: And when we're obedient to what he's telling us to do,
- 48:11Speaker 3: we're going to arrive at the destination that he has
- 48:14Speaker 3: with our names on it. Because he gave you the vision,
- 48:17Speaker 3: he's going to give you the provisions and the plans
- 48:19Speaker 3: to get there. We just got to be obedient and
- 48:22Speaker 3: do what God said to do.
- 48:23Speaker 7: All right, y'all.
- 48:25Speaker 6: Come on, Tess. You better go ahead and.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Test us out.
- 48:28Speaker 13: Preach, ma'am. Preach.
- 48:31Speaker 6: Advantage is in the building.
- 48:35Speaker 9: That comes with understanding that God already knows everything that
- 48:40Speaker 9: we're going to endure. And if we are really believers
- 48:43Speaker 9: of the word and we read the word, it's in there.
- 48:47Speaker 5: You know, everything that we're going to endure.
- 48:49Speaker 9: We have to understand that the things that the people
- 48:52Speaker 9: in the Bible days endure, we're going to endure those
- 48:55Speaker 9: similar things in our way because we have a journey.
- 49:00Speaker 9: So we're going to endure those things. But he's given
- 49:02Speaker 9: us the blueprint. He's given us things that we can
- 49:05Speaker 9: apply to our lives, those things that we can activate.
- 49:08Speaker 9: That's why it's important that we pray. It is important
- 49:11Speaker 9: that we fast. It is important that we spend time
- 49:15Speaker 9: with Him to listen and to hear. See, some of us,
- 49:17Speaker 9: we get ahead of Him. because we want to do
- 49:20Speaker 9: a free will and we get ahead of Him. So
- 49:23Speaker 9: sometimes we have to go through those things. And then,
- 49:26Speaker 9: Like Job, he knew what Job could bear. He knew
- 49:30Speaker 9: that no matter what he went through, Job was not
- 49:33Speaker 9: going to turn his back on God. So he would
- 49:37Speaker 9: allow us to have those Job experiences just so that
- 49:40Speaker 9: we can get to who he has already called us
- 49:44Speaker 9: to be, who he's already mapped out. Jeremiah 29 and
- 49:47Speaker 9: 11 say he declared that.
- 49:49Speaker 5: I mean, he had a plan for us.
- 49:51Speaker 9: It was impossible for us not to harm us, but
- 49:54Speaker 9: for us to have hope in the future. Now, hope
- 49:55Speaker 9: in the future.
- 49:56Speaker 12: Lies in Him.
- 49:57Speaker 9: But we have to learn how to trust Him. And
- 49:59Speaker 9: we have to learn how to listen to Him. But
- 50:02Speaker 9: sometimes we'll pray. We get the answer because He.
- 50:07Speaker 5: Hears our prayers and He answers them.
- 50:10Speaker 9: But the answers don't always be what we want. So, oh,
- 50:14Speaker 9: the enemy coming against us, this and this and this.
- 50:16Speaker 9: But just listen. Be patient and listen. Sometimes we'll pray
- 50:22Speaker 9: and get right up and go on about our day
- 50:24Speaker 9: instead of just.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Taking a moment to listen and allow him to lead, guide,
- 50:29Speaker 5: and direct us.
- 50:30Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 50:31Speaker 9: Because he already told us that he would never leave
- 50:34Speaker 9: us nor forsake us.
- 50:36Speaker 5: We got everything we need.
- 50:37Speaker 9: In Genesis 2 and 7, when he breathed that breath
- 50:39Speaker 9: of life into us, everything we needed was deposited in us.
- 50:44Speaker 9: Ain't nothing that we can experience or anything that we
- 50:46Speaker 9: can go through that we're not equipped for. That's why
- 50:51Speaker 9: he give us gifts and talents. We got to learn
- 50:54Speaker 9: how to tap into us. He said he made us
- 50:57Speaker 9: in his image.
- 50:58Speaker 5: So if he made us in.
- 50:59Speaker 13: His image, guess what?
- 51:01Speaker 5: Everything. He spoke things into existence.
- 51:04Speaker 9: We got to be able to speak to that mountain
- 51:06Speaker 9: and let that mountain be moved. We got to stop
- 51:09Speaker 9: trying to overtake the mountain. We got to stop trying
- 51:12Speaker 9: to climb the mountain. Because when we start trying to
- 51:15Speaker 9: do all these different things, that's when things start happening.
- 51:19Speaker 10: Yep.
- 51:20Speaker 5: We just got to trust him and know that he'll
- 51:22Speaker 5: never fail us. He will never fail us. We always
- 51:27Speaker 5: got to have faith. We always got to have faith.
- 51:31Speaker 3: One question that I have for everybody and that is
- 51:35Speaker 3: before we get ready to close out. What would you
- 51:38Speaker 3: say to someone who believes that their past has disqualified
- 51:42Speaker 3: them in wherever they are in their life right now?
- 51:48Speaker 3: If they're going through a hard season and they feel
- 51:51Speaker 3: like they can't even get to the next phase because
- 51:56Speaker 3: they feel stuck and they feel like they're disqualified, what
- 51:59Speaker 3: would you say? What advice would you give to them?
- 52:02Speaker 3: Because as we know, the fall didn't finish us. God
- 52:06Speaker 3: rebuilt us during that time. So this is a question
- 52:10Speaker 3: for everybody. I want everybody to answer.
- 52:12Speaker 5: One by one. Everybody needs to answer that one.
- 52:15Speaker 20: Your yesterday does not define your tomorrow. There's that time
- 52:22Speaker 20: in between where God is working and doing a work
- 52:25Speaker 20: within you. And if you're just doing as he demands
- 52:31Speaker 20: of you, then you'll get to where you need to be.
- 52:36Speaker 20: You know, your past does not define you. You You
- 52:40Speaker 20: have so much more ahead of you and you can't
- 52:42Speaker 20: just wallow in what was. You have to pick up
- 52:47Speaker 20: the pieces and move forward.
- 52:52Speaker 19: It goes back to embracing your process. A lot of
- 52:55Speaker 19: people are afraid to embrace their process. A lot of
- 52:57Speaker 19: people are afraid to be vulnerable. I got a client
- 53:00Speaker 19: in their whirlwind right now too, but I constantly continue
- 53:03Speaker 19: to encourage her. Your darkness ain't defining your character. You
- 53:08Speaker 19: got to push through. You got more life in front
- 53:11Speaker 19: of you than behind you. So you got to live
- 53:14Speaker 19: each day. Stay focused. I've had my dark days where
- 53:17Speaker 19: I didn't feel like doing nothing. But I had to
- 53:21Speaker 19: remember that it's a whole lot of people depending on me.
- 53:23Speaker 19: So I got to keep it moving.
- 53:24Speaker 13: Got to keep pushing.
- 53:29Speaker 10: I would say that the first gift he gave me
- 53:33Speaker 10: was a fight. I was fighting for my life.
- 53:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:37Speaker 10: And that fighter never died. That's what he built me
- 53:41Speaker 10: to do, was to fight. And I'm still in the
- 53:44Speaker 10: fight right now. You know, sometimes even, you know, me
- 53:50Speaker 10: trying to talk to somebody or tell somebody, you know,
- 53:55Speaker 10: about how to get through. I'm still going, do I
- 53:58Speaker 10: go through every day? This, the battle that I go
- 54:01Speaker 10: through every day.
- 54:02Speaker 5: I.
- 54:04Speaker 10: Notice it every day, right?
- 54:06Speaker 6: So.
- 54:07Speaker 10: You read my chapter, you'll understand what I mean. So
- 54:13Speaker 10: the fight, just fight. Don't give up. The fight is
- 54:18Speaker 10: not just about you. Like somebody said, the fight is
- 54:22Speaker 10: really for other people. What we did in this book
- 54:26Speaker 10: is for other people. It's not for ourselves. Now you
- 54:29Speaker 10: can't heal from being able to speak about what you've
- 54:33Speaker 10: been through, the things that you've overcame, and how you
- 54:38Speaker 10: feel in the midst of it. But literally going through
- 54:42Speaker 10: it has never been for us or about us. It
- 54:45Speaker 10: has always been about his will and to help his people.
- 54:54Speaker 5: Next.
- 55:05Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 55:09Speaker 12: He knew everything that you was going to go through
- 55:14Speaker 12: before he blew the breath into your lungs. While he
- 55:18Speaker 12: was molding you and shaping you and talking to you,
- 55:23Speaker 12: you got to remember that.
- 55:27Speaker 5: He knows everything.
- 55:29Speaker 12: He knows the beginning and he knows the end. We
- 55:33Speaker 12: just don't know. Just hold on. It's just like a
- 55:39Speaker 12: plane up in the air and you hit some turbulence.
- 55:43Speaker 12: Hold on because you're going to come in on a
- 55:47Speaker 12: smooth landing because God got you. He has us. And
- 55:51Speaker 12: that's what I forgot when I laid my son to rest.
- 55:58Speaker 12: My journey is still beginning. I'm still on assignment. I
- 56:04Speaker 12: don't know what tomorrow may hold. But I know I'm
- 56:08Speaker 12: going to keep running to see what my outcome comes.
- 56:13Speaker 12: What God has for me, I'm going to keep running
- 56:17Speaker 12: because I'm going to the finish line all the way.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Who's next?
- 56:29Speaker 6: Well, I'll just say that as somebody with a.
- 56:32Speaker 14: Disability as well as Tanya and wanting to unalive myself,
- 56:37Speaker 14: Many times.
- 56:39Speaker 6: I know that God had a plan for me. And
- 56:41Speaker 6: I know that the very, very last time I tried
- 56:43Speaker 6: to do that, the father said, no, because I love you.
- 56:48Speaker 6: The father loves you.
- 56:49Speaker 14: If you were the only one to believe of Jesus,
- 56:53Speaker 14: he would have still came and died for you. That's
- 56:55Speaker 14: how much he loves you. That's how much he cares
- 56:58Speaker 14: about you. So you got to keep going. You got
- 57:01Speaker 14: to keep fighting. You got to keep letting God use
- 57:04Speaker 14: you because he gets the glory.
- 57:06Speaker 6: Out of it.
- 57:06Speaker 14: It's not about us. It's not about what we feel
- 57:10Speaker 14: about us. It's not about if we're going to be obedient,
- 57:12Speaker 14: we got to be obedient fully. Even if we have questions,
- 57:16Speaker 14: we still got to be obedient fully.
- 57:17Speaker 6: Because why?
- 57:18Speaker 14: Because God knows it from the other side of our obedience.
- 57:21Speaker 14: And so being obedient is what he's calling us to do.
- 57:25Speaker 6: He loves you.
- 57:26Speaker 14: He wants you to have the best life you can have.
- 57:30Speaker 14: But he wants the life that he planned for you,
- 57:32Speaker 14: not the one he planned for yourself. Because it might
- 57:35Speaker 14: not go the way you think it's going to go.
- 57:37Speaker 14: So trust and believe that God's got you. He loves you.
- 57:41Speaker 14: And there's nothing in this world you can't do. I
- 57:44Speaker 14: am a disabled child currently getting ready to get my
- 57:46Speaker 14: associate's degree in business administration. There is nothing you can do.
- 57:51Speaker 14: I was a child left in the hospital, a baby left.
- 57:54Speaker 14: Nobody wanted me at the time. So I know that
- 57:58Speaker 14: God had a.
- 57:59Speaker 6: Plan for me.
- 58:00Speaker 14: God had a serious plan for my life. And I'm
- 58:02Speaker 14: thankful that I'm still here because There were many times
- 58:05Speaker 14: I didn't know if I'd even be here. I'm almost
- 58:07Speaker 14: 50 years old.
- 58:08Speaker 6: Almost 50. I didn't think I'd be here. So I'm thankful.
- 58:24Speaker 10: What this, just being on here tonight did, I'm going
- 58:29Speaker 10: to be honest with you.
- 58:31Speaker 5: Um it took a lot for me to come back.
- 58:34Speaker 10: And be on this like just you know what i'm
- 58:36Speaker 10: saying like this it took a lot and i want
- 58:41Speaker 10: to thank you because i think that this was what
- 58:45Speaker 10: i needed to to do you know what i'm saying
- 58:49Speaker 10: this this is pulling me back into my purpose it's
- 58:52Speaker 10: helping me to understand more and more even talking to
- 58:56Speaker 10: you of course but you know what i mean yeah
- 58:59Speaker 10: you know this is helping me to understand my purpose
- 59:03Speaker 10: more because i fell back and i was like maybe
- 59:07Speaker 10: it's not right maybe this ain't what I'm supposed to
- 59:11Speaker 10: be doing. Maybe I kept second guessing. I've been second
- 59:14Speaker 10: guessing for.
- 59:15Speaker 13: A minute now.
- 59:16Speaker 3: So yeah, thank you so much.
- 59:19Speaker 10: Thank you for asking me about this, meaning the book
- 59:22Speaker 10: and also asking me to be present here on the podcast.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 59:26Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Absolutely. OK, I'm just going to go ahead and say
- 59:37Speaker 3: this to close out so that we don't go too
- 59:40Speaker 3: far over in time. The one thing that I want
- 59:45Speaker 3: people to take from when they pick up this book
- 59:48Speaker 3: and they get to reading that you're never disqualified. God
- 59:53Speaker 3: has gave you everything that you have ever needed. Man's
- 59:57Speaker 3: word has no power unless you give it the power
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: over God's word. God is going to lead you and
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: he's going to prosper you if you allow him into
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: your space. The problem is you're saying that you can't
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: hear from God, but have you actually sit and be
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: still so that you can hear when he's speaking to you?
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: Because God is not going to bombard his way into
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: your life.
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: He wants an invitation.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: And when you invite him in, he's going to come
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: in and he's going to do what he has been
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: trying to do from the beginning. Those prayers that you
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: have been praying and saying, God didn't hear me. God
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: didn't hear me. God heard every prayer that you pray.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: Even the silent ones. He hears your thoughts. He knows
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: what you're going through. He knows what you're going to
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: go through. He knows it all. But you have to
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: be willing to allow him into your life. and to
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: be obedient to what he's telling you to do. Everything
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: that I have always said and done has.
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: Been connected to what God has told me to do.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Everything about who I am is because of what God said.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: The name of this podcast, Believe in the Journey, God
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: gave me that. The name of my business, Wings of Transformation,
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: That is what God gave me, and I was using
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: both of those without any idea of God using those
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: to connect what I am doing. I'm a shy person,
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: but nobody believes that I'm shy in any capacity because
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: they believe that I'm going to talk to anybody at
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: any space. And this was not something I wanted to do.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: But as I started to understand, because people were coming
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: to me to tell me their stories, and I'd be
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: trying to sit in my space and talk. have the meanest, nonchalant,
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: please don't come bothering me, please don't come talking to
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: me kind of face. And they still come and share
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: their whole story with me. And I'm like, God, look here,
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: what you trying to do? I don't want to talk
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: to these people. I'm over here in this space trying
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: to stay as small as I am and mind my business,
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: but you putting me in their business. You know, I've
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: learned that when God wants you, it don't matter what
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: man says about you. God is going to qualify you
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: for every position he puts you in. So continue to
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: trust him. Continue to know that you are not unworthy.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: You are qualified to do whatever God says. And your
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: name is being mentioned in rooms and spaces and places
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: that you have yet to walk into. You just have
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: to be obedient and say, God, I'm going to show up.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Whatever you send me, I will go. And when you
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: do that, you are always going to be where God
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: is calling you to be. I had somebody get upset
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: with me because I said, listen, if God didn't put
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: it on my calendar, it ain't for me. And they're like,
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: what do you mean? If God didn't put it on
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: my calendar, it ain't for me. And if something happens
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: and I don't show up, it's because God didn't put
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: it on my schedule. So I'm never going to be
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: out of place. I'm always going to be where God
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: calls me to be in the time when.
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: He calls me.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: So I'm going to close this by saying what I
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: always say, and that is stay out of God's business.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: The only thing he needs you to do is be
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: obedient to what he's called you to do. I thank
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: each and every one of you for saying yes, for
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: being part of this anthology. And I thank me for
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: saying yes, even when I wanted to say no. But
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: God would not let me say no. I could say it,
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: but it didn't mean a doggone.
- 1:03:37Speaker 10: Thing to him.
- 1:03:38Speaker 7: Because he was like, I heard you. But you did
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: what I said do.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: And I am grateful because it has been a true blessing.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: And for each and every one of you who said
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: yes and shared your stories and entrusting me to bring
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: what you brought.
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: So that the next person can see you. That their fall.
- 1:04:08Speaker 10: She went up.
- 1:04:09Speaker 13: You went out.
- 1:04:11Speaker 12: Up.
- 1:04:13Speaker 13: You back up.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: That last sentence. We missed it.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: I said just trust God. Because he knows exactly.
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: Where he's positioning you to be.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: So love where you are. And that fall.
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: Did not finish you. It is just your beginning. So
- 1:04:32Speaker 7: get up. I love y'all. Thank you.
- 1:04:35Speaker 15: Love you too.
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: Thank you.
