- 0:01Speaker 1: Now on the Voice of New York has the Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: some own show on seven ten wor well, hey, summer today,
- 0:12Speaker 1: We've got a little summer preview. It's going to be
- 0:14Speaker 1: in the eighties. Today. It's tax day. Your taxes have
- 0:17Speaker 1: to be filed by midnight tonight or you got a
- 0:21Speaker 1: file for an extension and pay whatever you owe. But
- 0:25Speaker 1: a lot of people scrambling to get that done today.
- 0:27Speaker 1: So a lot to get to. We'll get to President
- 0:29Speaker 1: Trump and Jesus. We'll get to Swawell, We'll get to
- 0:32Speaker 1: Mom Donnie and his grocery stores. We'll get to Ukraine,
- 0:36Speaker 1: We'll get to Officer Duran and a whole lot more
- 0:40Speaker 1: coming up. So again I keep warning all your Democrats,
- 0:45Speaker 1: all your Trump haters. The Jesus picture Trump posted, this
- 0:49Speaker 1: will all be forgotten about in about two weeks. Nobody
- 0:52Speaker 1: will remember this. The fight with the Pope. That's terrible.
- 0:55Speaker 1: You can't fight with the pope. Well he did this
- 0:58Speaker 1: before with the last Pope. Nobody and remembers. Nobody even
- 1:01Speaker 1: remembers all. This will be forgotten about. In fact, President
- 1:04Speaker 1: Trump posted another Jesus picture. This one's a little different.
- 1:09Speaker 1: This is Jesus with his arm around Donald Trump. He
- 1:13Speaker 1: posted that again today just to just to drive the
- 1:17Speaker 1: radical left crazy, as he said, as he called him
- 1:19Speaker 1: the radical left lunatics. It's not right. You shouldn't do
- 1:24Speaker 1: that Jesus picture. You shouldn't fight with the pope. It's
- 1:27Speaker 1: not right. But you can do it if you want.
- 1:29Speaker 1: If you're Donald Trump, if you're Howard Stern, you can
- 1:32Speaker 1: do that kind of stuff. And I think that's the
- 1:34Speaker 1: key to all of it. You got to remember President Trump.
- 1:38Speaker 1: He may be the greatest CEO ever in the world.
- 1:41Speaker 1: He may be this incredible president, he's the most powerful
- 1:44Speaker 1: man in the world, but he's from New York and
- 1:46Speaker 1: he's still got a Howard Stern's side to him. And
- 1:48Speaker 1: every so often he's going to do something outrageous or
- 1:51Speaker 1: post something outrageous, something that you know, funny, interesting, he's
- 1:56Speaker 1: going to act like a normal person. That was the
- 1:59Speaker 1: whole idea, Howard's And by the way, in the beginning,
- 2:02Speaker 1: he decided that he would go on the radio and
- 2:04Speaker 1: just be himself, just do what people really do. And
- 2:08Speaker 1: that's what people really do. Every so often, they curse
- 2:11Speaker 1: and swear, every so often, they make a dirty joke,
- 2:13Speaker 1: every so often, they say something outrageous, and he explained
- 2:17Speaker 1: it once, he said, and I saw this too with
- 2:19Speaker 1: my own experience. You know, when you'd be on the radio,
- 2:25Speaker 1: especially in the good old days, the guy would go
- 2:27Speaker 1: on the air and say, good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 2:29Speaker 1: He was this formal radio person. As soon as the
- 2:31Speaker 1: mic was closed, he's making dirty jokes. He's yelling and screaming,
- 2:34Speaker 1: he's carrying on. And Stern was saying, you know, that
- 2:40Speaker 1: guy is more interesting than the formal, proper guy on
- 2:44Speaker 1: the radio. I'll just do that on the radio. So
- 2:46Speaker 1: Trump's the same thing. When you're the president, you're supposed
- 2:49Speaker 1: to be my fellow Americans, good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
- 2:52Speaker 1: He's supposed to be very formal and very presidential. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: Trump again, like Howard Stern kind of thing, deciding, you
- 2:59Speaker 1: know what, I'm just gonna be the real meat. The
- 3:02Speaker 1: stuff that he does that you think is outrageous. Obama
- 3:05Speaker 1: did it, Clinton did it, Biden did it. They all
- 3:09Speaker 1: do it. When the mic is off and the cameras
- 3:12Speaker 1: are a way, they're cursing and screaming, making dirty jokes.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I've seen it with my own eyes. Nobody cursed more
- 3:18Speaker 1: than Obama, Biden, Clinton, Hillary, and I mean the dirtiest words,
- 3:23Speaker 1: the most awful jokes, just outrageous stuff flying out of
- 3:28Speaker 1: their mouth. That's behind the scenes. But Trump decided there's
- 3:31Speaker 1: going to be absolutely no phoniness. I'm going to be
- 3:33Speaker 1: the real meat. Now is this a big change in politics?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Is this going to be the future? Trump's a very
- 3:43Speaker 1: very unique guy. Very few people could ever pull off
- 3:46Speaker 1: what he does. They just wouldn't have the nerve, or
- 3:48Speaker 1: they'd be too embarrassed, or they're too proper to do it.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know when he goes I
- 3:54Speaker 1: mean talk now as it could be Rubio, it could
- 3:56Speaker 1: be jd Vance. They're not the type they would go
- 3:58Speaker 1: back to, very proper politician. You have to kind of
- 4:05Speaker 1: be born with this talent that Trump has to be outrageous,
- 4:07Speaker 1: and it takes incredible nerves. I don't think you'll ever
- 4:10Speaker 1: see it again, but it's fascinating to watch as it unfolds.
- 4:17Speaker 1: The war could be over, he's telling people, he told
- 4:20Speaker 1: Maria Bartioma on an interview, and he's told people privately,
- 4:24Speaker 1: the war is basically over. We may have to go
- 4:27Speaker 1: back to some sort of combat, but it would just
- 4:30Speaker 1: be like mopping up stuff. It wouldn't be a real
- 4:32Speaker 1: full blown comment. First of all, there's not left to
- 4:35Speaker 1: take out for combat. It'd be basically just clean up,
- 4:39Speaker 1: mopping up. And then as far as that nuclear material,
- 4:41Speaker 1: if they won't hand it over, we may have to
- 4:43Speaker 1: go in and collect it and pick it up. But
- 4:46Speaker 1: that's not that hard. And you're saying, well, that's boots
- 4:50Speaker 1: on the ground. Yeah, well we already did boots on
- 4:52Speaker 1: the ground last week. The week before, we did boots
- 4:55Speaker 1: on the ground twice. When that plane crash, we had
- 4:58Speaker 1: to get the first airman and the boots on the
- 5:01Speaker 1: ground had to go in and rescue him. And the
- 5:03Speaker 1: second one was tough. That was a long operation. It
- 5:06Speaker 1: was like a thirty six hour operation with boots on
- 5:08Speaker 1: the ground. So we've done it twice already. Now, why
- 5:12Speaker 1: the confusing messaging the war's over, Well, maybe it's not over.
- 5:16Speaker 1: The talks are done. That's it. Well, maybe we're going
- 5:18Speaker 1: back to talks. It's very confusing for us, and the
- 5:22Speaker 1: good news is it's done deliberately. It's even more confusing
- 5:26Speaker 1: to the enemy. They don't know how to read him,
- 5:28Speaker 1: they don't know what to expect. Now you'll see all
- 5:30Speaker 1: these left wing fake news talking heads saying what happened
- 5:34Speaker 1: to the art of the deal? Obviously he doesn't know
- 5:36Speaker 1: the art of the deal. Obviously, this is he's in
- 5:39Speaker 1: over his head. He doesn't know what he's doing. Well,
- 5:40Speaker 1: that always appears to be the case with him, and
- 5:43Speaker 1: then come back in a few weeks everything got taken
- 5:46Speaker 1: care of. So it's like the Jesus picture. It's like
- 5:49Speaker 1: the Pope fight. You watch all these talking it. This
- 5:52Speaker 1: is it. He's done so much damage to himself, even
- 5:55Speaker 1: with his own base, he has done so much to him.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Three weeks from now, nobody will remember any of this.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It'll all be gone. I love My favorite fight though,
- 6:03Speaker 1: is Tom Holman and the Pope. I mean the Pope.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You're not supposed to fight with the Pope, but he
- 6:08Speaker 1: really was out of line. He has no business defending
- 6:11Speaker 1: the Iranian regime as they slaughtered people in the streets.
- 6:14Speaker 1: They just slaughtered thirty thousand protesters in the street. There's
- 6:18Speaker 1: some more protesters. They're about to execute them in a
- 6:20Speaker 1: very brutal way. One is a woman. They're going to
- 6:23Speaker 1: execute her and then kill her family for protesting. They've
- 6:27Speaker 1: also announced they got sixteen hundred more hers that they're
- 6:30Speaker 1: going to execute the watch. The Pope won't have a
- 6:32Speaker 1: word to say about this. He'll be totally silent about this.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But Tom Holman took on the pope.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I'm a lifelong Catholic, baptize, first Communion, confirmation. I love
- 6:43Speaker 2: the Catholic Church. I just wish they stick to fixing
- 6:46Speaker 2: the church because there's issues. I know cause I'm a
- 6:49Speaker 2: member and still a politics.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, what about the Epstein files. Where's the Epstein file?
- 6:56Speaker 1: You know this is all you heard for weeks? Well,
- 6:58Speaker 1: where's the swallwhelf? I want to see these Swallowell files.
- 7:02Speaker 1: You know, it turns out everybody you talk to in Congress.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I'm talking to former congressman, current congressman, everybody in Congress,
- 7:10Speaker 1: they're all telling the same thing. Everybody knew how bad
- 7:14Speaker 1: he was. Oh, he was awful, but you cow wouldn't
- 7:16Speaker 1: let a woman anywhere near him. You couldn't let him
- 7:17Speaker 1: near anybody. He was the worst. He was awful. It
- 7:20Speaker 1: was disgusted. Well why did you keep it all quiet?
- 7:23Speaker 1: Why'd you cover it up? Forever and ever? So some
- 7:26Speaker 1: of these people coming forward, women who were claiming they
- 7:29Speaker 1: were alleging they were raped, they were drugged. They seem
- 7:32Speaker 1: pretty credible. I mean it's a little suspicious. It's eight
- 7:34Speaker 1: years later. But at the time they said they were afraid.
- 7:38Speaker 1: He was a big congressman, he was an attorney. They
- 7:41Speaker 1: were afraid to go up against him. It's a scary
- 7:43Speaker 1: thought that Takana congressman publicly legally, So why not how
- 7:49Speaker 1: come they're not afraid now? Well, as they keep telling you,
- 7:52Speaker 1: somebody's behind this, not that it's not all true, but
- 7:56Speaker 1: somebody put this all together, like the twenty seven accusers,
- 7:59Speaker 1: all at once, unleashed all at once. This was packaged
- 8:03Speaker 1: and timed. Who could it be? Well, it takes a
- 8:06Speaker 1: lot of money. You know, there's a billionaire running against
- 8:08Speaker 1: him in California who wants him out. Could be that,
- 8:12Speaker 1: could be other big Democratic donors that want him out.
- 8:15Speaker 1: You know, if you got a big, powerful billionaire, how
- 8:17Speaker 1: do you do this? Well, these women are so afraid
- 8:20Speaker 1: to come forward, and this has been done before. You
- 8:23Speaker 1: put a ton of money towards their case. You get
- 8:25Speaker 1: them the best lawyers in the world, You get them
- 8:27Speaker 1: everything they need, lawyers, public relations people, bodyguards, whatever they want.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And then they suddenly come forward, and some of these
- 8:34Speaker 1: victims was kind of moving.
- 8:36Speaker 3: While he was choking me. I lost consciousness and I
- 8:41Speaker 3: thought I died. I did not consent to any sexual activity,
- 8:49Speaker 3: although I did not undergo a rape kit at the time.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I disclosed the assault to the people closest to me.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah, uh uh, you know it was that the who's
- 9:02Speaker 1: the woman that went the nut job that went after Trump?
- 9:05Speaker 1: Egene Caroll? And nobody bought that story because she's always
- 9:07Speaker 1: been a publicity stunt, hustler, type of publicity hound type
- 9:13Speaker 1: of a woman. And she couldn't tell you what year,
- 9:17Speaker 1: or she couldn't give any details. These women, it's different.
- 9:20Speaker 1: These seem more credible.
- 9:21Speaker 3: When I arrived at his hotel room, I was already
- 9:26Speaker 3: incapacitated and I couldn't move my arms or my body.
- 9:34Speaker 3: He raped me and he choked me, and while he
- 9:43Speaker 3: was choking me, I lost consciousness.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Yeah. No, he's facing criminal charges. There's one thing to
- 9:49Speaker 1: be expelled from Congress. It's one thing to end your
- 9:51Speaker 1: political career. But he's facing criminal charges here in Manhattan,
- 9:55Speaker 1: and imagine there'll be criminal charges in other places. And
- 9:58Speaker 1: if all of this is true, he's got serious, serious
- 10:03Speaker 1: prison time coming. Whenever you hear the it's one thing
- 10:05Speaker 1: that you know, sexual harassment, but when you hear the
- 10:08Speaker 1: word raped, when you hear the word drugged, when you
- 10:11Speaker 1: hear the word choked. Here in real, real trouble.
- 10:15Speaker 3: My delay in taking action against Eric was driven by fear,
- 10:18Speaker 3: not doubt, fear of his political power, his background as
- 10:24Speaker 3: an attorney, and his family law enforcement ties.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah, now he's the Epstein, the new Epstein of the
- 10:32Speaker 1: Democratic Party. Because it seems everybody seemed to know about it.
- 10:35Speaker 1: All these people in Congress, they're all being asked about it.
- 10:38Speaker 4: It's known that widely in DC that he is I
- 10:41Speaker 4: don't even think womanizer covers it.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Sexually harasses women.
- 10:48Speaker 1: They all knew about they all, And I'm being told
- 10:50Speaker 1: that by all kinds of people in Congress, and they
- 10:52Speaker 1: all knew it all.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Slowly they became more and more explicit, asking me what
- 10:57Speaker 4: I was wearing. Than one night he was on a
- 11:00Speaker 4: trip and he was laying in his hotel room bed,
- 11:04Speaker 4: and then he sent me a photo of his penis.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Here you go, let me explain something to you men
- 11:11Speaker 1: out there. See, the problem is you get a lot
- 11:13Speaker 1: of these guys, they spend their whole life in an office,
- 11:15Speaker 1: their whole life in a job doing some They don't
- 11:18Speaker 1: know how to flirt with a woman. They don't know
- 11:20Speaker 1: how to do it. Do not send a picture of
- 11:23Speaker 1: your penis. This appeals to no woman. If they all think,
- 11:26Speaker 1: whoa when she sees this? WHOA is she going to get?
- 11:29Speaker 1: They don't want to see that. It's the absolute opposite
- 11:33Speaker 1: effect of what you think. Do you want to get
- 11:36Speaker 1: a woman excited, Send her a picture of you with
- 11:39Speaker 1: a dog, holding your little puppy. That and then they
- 11:41Speaker 1: like you, send a picture of you with a little
- 11:44Speaker 1: child or something. Send send a picture of you cooking dinner.
- 11:47Speaker 1: That's more. They do not want to see your penis.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It doesn't work. Now, if a woman were to send
- 11:53Speaker 1: a guy a picture of her body parts, the guy
- 11:56Speaker 1: would immediately be drooling and madly in love. It doesn't
- 12:00Speaker 1: work the opposite way. You have to realize said now
- 12:02Speaker 1: Pelosi knew Pelosi. She won't tell you that she was
- 12:06Speaker 1: asked about it.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Some Republicans and others are saying that Democrats turned kind
- 12:10Speaker 5: of a blind eye, that they knew.
- 12:12Speaker 1: What he was up.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Now, that is absolutely positive.
- 12:15Speaker 3: It's true that they may say that, but it is
- 12:17Speaker 3: absolutely no idea, none whatsoever.
- 12:21Speaker 1: No idea none. What's if I knew about it? She
- 12:26Speaker 1: knew about it. So but he's the new Epstein. He's
- 12:31Speaker 1: the new Epstein. Hey, Hakeem Jeffries. If you read the
- 12:34Speaker 1: Epstein files, a lot of Hakeem Jeffries in those Epstein files.
- 12:37Speaker 1: He was begging Epstein to come on board as a donor.
- 12:41Speaker 1: He was begging Epstein to come to a dinner. He
- 12:43Speaker 1: was all over Repps. Now, in his defense, Epstein was
- 12:49Speaker 1: a big political donor and he wrote big checks to
- 12:52Speaker 1: campaigns and policy. Once you donate to any big campaign,
- 12:56Speaker 1: all the other campaigns by the mailing lists of the donors.
- 12:59Speaker 1: So if you gave a ton of money to Chuck
- 13:02Speaker 1: Schumer running for Senate, all the other Democrats by the
- 13:05Speaker 1: donor list, so they'll see you. You give a lot
- 13:07Speaker 1: of money Schumer, I'll get him. So if you're HAKEM. Jeffries,
- 13:10Speaker 1: you start bombarding the guy with emails asking for donations.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And if you're not getting a donation, well then you
- 13:16Speaker 1: invite them to dinner. You offer them all kinds of things.
- 13:20Speaker 1: So that's what Jeffries did. A lot of people do it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Charities do it too. You know, they get a whole
- 13:25Speaker 1: the charities. If you're on a big, big charity and
- 13:29Speaker 1: the other charities are having their gala dinner, you go
- 13:31Speaker 1: to the gala dinner to steal the program the book
- 13:35Speaker 1: because it lists all the donors and thanks all the donors.
- 13:37Speaker 1: You steal that book and then you contact all those donors.
- 13:41Speaker 1: But Epstein was asked about soliciting Jeffreys was asked about
- 13:46Speaker 1: soliciting Epstein all the time.
- 13:47Speaker 6: Was that a serious question or a serious statement from
- 13:52Speaker 6: malignant clown James Comer that I had Jeffrey Epstein over
- 13:56Speaker 6: for dinner, that I accepted money from Jeffstein. What's extraordinary
- 14:01Speaker 6: to me about the clown show on the other side
- 14:04Speaker 6: of the out is that they live with impunity.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Yes, it's not true. He did not have him over
- 14:11Speaker 1: dinner for dinner, but he did beg him to come
- 14:15Speaker 1: over to dinner. He did not take money from him.
- 14:19Speaker 1: But if you'll check the files, about four hundred times
- 14:21Speaker 1: he wrote them begging him for money. So it's not true,
- 14:24Speaker 1: but it's slightly. It's true in spirit, not to the
- 14:28Speaker 1: letter though. Hey, we'll get to mom Donnie coming up
- 14:31Speaker 1: his grocery stores Apparently this is going to be the
- 14:34Speaker 1: biggest fiasco ever in history, the first grocery store. He's
- 14:40Speaker 1: going to spend thirty million to put it together. Grocery
- 14:43Speaker 1: store owners tell me normal costs would be one to
- 14:46Speaker 1: two million, and that's with paying rent. This guy's got
- 14:50Speaker 1: free space to the owns and he's still going to
- 14:52Speaker 1: pay thirty million. If you gave that to a real
- 14:55Speaker 1: grocery store chain, they could open fifteen locations with thirty million.
- 15:01Speaker 1: So right there, he's wasting all the money in the world.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Selection will be horrible. Uh Mom, Donnie is kind of
- 15:09Speaker 1: admitting now that the discount will only be on a
- 15:11Speaker 1: handful of items, not on everything else. They're going to
- 15:14Speaker 1: be the dirtiest, filthiest locations you've ever seen. Anyway, we'll
- 15:18Speaker 1: get back. We'll get to that coming up. We got
- 15:19Speaker 1: a lot to talk about. Uh, hey, we'll take some
- 15:22Speaker 1: calls next. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
- 15:26Speaker 1: is the number. Eight hundred three two one zero seven tenw.
- 15:31Speaker 5: You're listening to the Mark Simone show.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Wor Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three to
- 15:39Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten is the number. Let's go
- 15:43Speaker 1: to Jacob in Denver, Colorado, Jacob, how you doing.
- 15:48Speaker 7: Hi?
- 15:49Speaker 8: So there was a scene in the latest Nuremberg movie
- 15:52Speaker 8: called did you just Blackmail the Pope? And this is
- 15:55Speaker 8: where he accused the pope but starting something excuse me
- 15:58Speaker 8: nineteen three three with eight al Phi, which is a
- 16:01Speaker 8: true story. You would think that after this the popes
- 16:04Speaker 8: would stay out a politics.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Well they don't. There have been a number of times
- 16:08Speaker 1: through the years. You sound a little out of breath.
- 16:11Speaker 1: You're in Denver, right, there's no air up there, right.
- 16:14Speaker 8: Yes, Actually, I'm going to log onto my My daughter's
- 16:18Speaker 8: getting married in Ischel, So I'm gonna be very good
- 16:20Speaker 8: on the the dream.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Very good, excellent, Well, congratulations, thanks for Colin. Let's go
- 16:26Speaker 1: to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing, good morning, Mark, Yes, Mike.
- 16:32Speaker 9: Just two quick things. One, leave it to President Trump
- 16:35Speaker 9: to finally bring peace between the left and the Catholic
- 16:38Speaker 9: Church and Christian in general. Another, another feather at his cap.
- 16:43Speaker 9: But the thing, the Swawall case is interesting. It's a
- 16:46Speaker 9: real to me, it's a real classic mobster thing.
- 16:49Speaker 5: You know.
- 16:49Speaker 9: Cloy they had something on him and they said to them, Okay, this.
- 16:52Speaker 10: Is what we have on you. Now, you're going to
- 16:55Speaker 10: do out dirty work for you. You're going to be
- 16:57Speaker 10: a henchman. You're going to go after Trump, you know
- 16:59Speaker 10: twoson there. You're gonna bring up you know, you're going
- 17:01Speaker 10: to lead the charge on the Russia collusion thing.
- 17:04Speaker 9: And all of that stuff. And then you know, we'll
- 17:07Speaker 9: let you stay in office until we're done with you.
- 17:08Speaker 9: And then they took him into a back alley and
- 17:12Speaker 9: left them in a garbage bin.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Yeah, very good, Yeah, no, I agree, excellent. Yeah, he
- 17:17Speaker 1: was very useful till he started running for governor California,
- 17:20Speaker 1: got some traction, and he became so high in the
- 17:25Speaker 1: polls it's hard to explain. They have this what they
- 17:28Speaker 1: call a jungle primary in California, Republicans, Democrats all in
- 17:32Speaker 1: the same primary. But he rose up at his numbers
- 17:35Speaker 1: were high enough that it was screwing them up and
- 17:38Speaker 1: that it would have helped the Republicans in that primary.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It was dividing up the Democratic vote. So they had
- 17:43Speaker 1: to get him out of there. And apparently wouldn't listen.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So they got him out of there. Let's go to
- 17:48Speaker 1: Sarah in Manhattan. Sarah, how you doing.
- 17:52Speaker 11: Hi, Mark, how are you good? But I just don't know.
- 17:57Speaker 11: You mentioned Hillary wanting to run yesterday, and she was
- 17:59Speaker 11: so missive about Monica Lewinsky and whether Bill should have resigned.
- 18:04Speaker 11: How does she think she's going to run with the
- 18:06Speaker 11: me too movement, the Epstein files, now the Swallowell files.
- 18:12Speaker 11: I don't know what planet she's on. Really, I can't
- 18:14Speaker 11: imagine any woman supporting her.
- 18:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Well, she was always the most delusional woman in the world.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Great point, Sarah, Thanks for calling. She was always totally delusional. Yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 1: she's doing she We think she's running again. Yesterday she
- 18:26Speaker 1: ran around doing a million interviews. When Monica Lewinsky came up,
- 18:30Speaker 1: it was it was, Oh, that's nothing, Oh that's okay,
- 18:34Speaker 1: It was nothing. Meantime, she and Bill fought over that
- 18:39Speaker 1: so much. Remember was it on the air or off
- 18:41Speaker 1: the air? Here I had some of their Secret Service here,
- 18:45Speaker 1: the detail that protected Bill during his time in the
- 18:49Speaker 1: White House, and they were telling me that it got
- 18:52Speaker 1: so bad between the Clintons in private that she would
- 18:56Speaker 1: hit him. She once threw a lamp at him. And
- 19:01Speaker 1: in the Secret Service, when you're protecting a president, you're
- 19:03Speaker 1: not allowed to let anybody hurt him or hit him.
- 19:09Speaker 1: So they didn't know what to do. This is his
- 19:10Speaker 1: own wife hitting him in private. So they were telling
- 19:14Speaker 1: us they had to go to the head of the
- 19:15Speaker 1: Secret Service. They had to have a meeting to decide
- 19:17Speaker 1: what to do if when she went after him physically,
- 19:21Speaker 1: if it got brutal, what would they do? It's his wife,
- 19:25Speaker 1: do they stop her? So there was a big meeting
- 19:28Speaker 1: head of the Secret Service, everybody, and then they decided, yes,
- 19:30Speaker 1: you would have to restrain her. You would have to
- 19:33Speaker 1: grab the first lady and pull her away. You can't
- 19:36Speaker 1: let her beat up the president, which apparently she tried
- 19:38Speaker 1: to do a number of times. Let's go to Anthony
- 19:41Speaker 1: and Staten Island. Anthony, how you doing?
- 19:44Speaker 12: Okay? Mark, could you clarify? Is it thirty million dollars
- 19:50Speaker 12: for one free grocery books or is it thirty million
- 19:55Speaker 12: right out over the far.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Burw No, it's uh. He's talking about he's talking in
- 20:00Speaker 1: about five grocery stores. And he originally said it would
- 20:04Speaker 1: cost seventy million dollars for the five grocery stores, one
- 20:07Speaker 1: in each borrow. And now it turns out the first
- 20:12Speaker 1: one will cost thirty million, So that means that the
- 20:15Speaker 1: total cost would be one hundred and fifty million, not
- 20:18Speaker 1: the seventy like he said. So he's talking about thirty
- 20:20Speaker 1: million for one grocery store. And this is the easiest
- 20:23Speaker 1: one because he owns the space. It's free space. Now
- 20:28Speaker 1: when he says thirty million, you know it's the government.
- 20:30Speaker 1: So by the time they get it done, it'll be
- 20:31Speaker 1: fifty eight million. And it makes no sense at all.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Every grocery store owner told me that you could open
- 20:37Speaker 1: a grocery store for a million if you wanted to
- 20:40Speaker 1: really go all out. Two million mean to equip it,
- 20:44Speaker 1: put everything in. So where's the thirty million going? Obviously
- 20:48Speaker 1: they'd hand out contracts. This is like when the Deblasios
- 20:52Speaker 1: tried that Operation Thrive or whatever the hell that was
- 20:55Speaker 1: a billion dollars was spent. Nobody knows where the hell
- 20:58Speaker 1: it went go to. Rich Myrtle Beach. Rich, how you doing?
- 21:03Speaker 8: Hey?
- 21:03Speaker 7: Thanks Mark. You know they asked Pelosi if you knew
- 21:05Speaker 7: anything about it, and you can't tell she's lying because
- 21:07Speaker 7: her face doesn't move anymore. Yeah, you're looking at her,
- 21:10Speaker 7: you know. You know if you listen to the statement
- 21:12Speaker 7: the woman made about swallow you. So she said she
- 21:15Speaker 7: didn't come forward for eight years because first she was
- 21:17Speaker 7: going to run for city council in La. Then he
- 21:20Speaker 7: was going to help her with a software company, and
- 21:22Speaker 7: I guess all the stuff fell through, So now they
- 21:24Speaker 7: don't need him anymore. But now she'll come forward after
- 21:27Speaker 7: eight years because I guess she didn't get what she wanted.
- 21:29Speaker 7: You know, these women they take eight years, nine years.
- 21:32Speaker 7: Look at the kavanol one, the one that went after Trump.
- 21:34Speaker 7: I don't remember the day of the year of where
- 21:36Speaker 7: we were, but yeah, he assaulted me. If these women
- 21:38Speaker 7: can't come forward immediately or within your six months or
- 21:42Speaker 7: a year, you can't believe it these women what they're
- 21:44Speaker 7: telling you anymore. And I want to ask you one.
- 21:46Speaker 1: To Sometimes sometimes that's the case. But sometimes, and we've
- 21:50Speaker 1: seen this before with Reid Hoffman, with other billionaires, Sometimes
- 21:54Speaker 1: a billionaire finds them and says, I will hire you
- 21:57Speaker 1: the five finest attorneys in the world. I'll hire you
- 21:59Speaker 1: an army of pr people, bodyguard, and then they'll come forward.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Sometimes that's what it is.
- 22:04Speaker 7: But if she wanted to want the City council of
- 22:06Speaker 7: LA she wanted certain things, I guess she didn't get them. Well,
- 22:09Speaker 7: she lost the election. Now she wants to go after himself.
- 22:12Speaker 7: Let me ask you have you seen these baby Trump memes,
- 22:14Speaker 7: these little videos, these baby Trump things on Facebook. Of
- 22:17Speaker 7: course they're sterical. I just found him the other day.
- 22:20Speaker 7: I mean, they got this guy down to a t
- 22:22Speaker 7: and the Kamala Harris. It's hysterical. People should go look
- 22:24Speaker 7: for these. They're biting up my day every day.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Ye yeah, they're all over Twitter, they're all over Facebook.
- 22:28Speaker 1: They're great. Hey, when we come back, we'll talk to
- 22:32Speaker 1: Roger Friedman, the great entertainment reporter. I don't know that
- 22:34Speaker 1: rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Choices this year.
- 22:37Speaker 1: We'll talk about that and a whole lot more, and
- 22:39Speaker 1: how's Broadway doing, And we'll get to all of that
- 22:41Speaker 1: coming up on seven to ten wor.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Mister New York. Hey, that's Marksimon seven ten wor. Well.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Roger Friedman is the great entertainment reporter. And he's got
- 22:53Speaker 1: this wonderful website called jo biz for one one dot com.
- 22:57Speaker 1: You should check it every day. There's all kinds of
- 22:59Speaker 1: great stories, new stuff all the time. Showbiz for one
- 23:02Speaker 1: one dot com. Roger Friedman, how you doing.
- 23:06Speaker 5: I'm great? How are you this morning?
- 23:08Speaker 1: Very good? Hey? Tell us about Billy Crystal makes a
- 23:11Speaker 1: big announcement yesterday new Broadway show.
- 23:14Speaker 5: No, well, he was on Stephen Colbert last night, and
- 23:20Speaker 5: he came to say goodbye to Stephen Colbert because he's
- 23:22Speaker 5: going off the air next month. And the Colbert shows
- 23:25Speaker 5: from the Ed Sullivan Theater where Billy got his start
- 23:29Speaker 5: on Ed Sullivan. So he came.
- 23:31Speaker 1: He was on it Sullivan.
- 23:33Speaker 5: I guess he was at the very end of the
- 23:35Speaker 5: Ed Sullivan Show.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah, he must have been so young.
- 23:38Speaker 5: He was pretty young.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Wow.
- 23:39Speaker 5: So anyway, he came back. He came back to do
- 23:43Speaker 5: a little stick to celebrate the fiftieth, not the fiftieth,
- 23:49Speaker 5: his anniversary of having been there first and now to
- 23:54Speaker 5: be last. And then he announced that he's doing a
- 23:57Speaker 5: Broadway show this fall. It's a one man show. You know,
- 24:01Speaker 5: he's done so many great one man shows, like seven
- 24:03Speaker 5: hundred sundaysh and this one's called eight sixty and it's
- 24:08Speaker 5: about everything that happened to him in La the last
- 24:12Speaker 5: couple of years, with the fires and all the rest
- 24:14Speaker 5: of it. So it'll be for twelve weeks this fall.
- 24:20Speaker 5: You know, it'll be funny. In fact, the minute the
- 24:23Speaker 5: tickets go on sale, which I think is April twenty eighth,
- 24:27Speaker 5: they'll sell out completely, like in the first hour, because
- 24:31Speaker 5: you know, we love him, he's a real New Yorker.
- 24:34Speaker 1: When they say limited run twelve weeks, that's so in
- 24:37Speaker 1: case it doesn't work, they can close and hopefully it
- 24:40Speaker 1: takes off, and then they extend it, right so it
- 24:42Speaker 1: could run for.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Well, in his case, it's not gonna you know, it's
- 24:46Speaker 5: not going to not take off. It's going to be
- 24:48Speaker 5: it'll be sold out immediately. So the question is, well
- 24:51Speaker 5: he stayed for any time after that, and he may
- 24:55Speaker 5: take a break and then come back because that's exhausting,
- 24:58Speaker 5: you know, Billy Crystal not twenty five anymore either, am
- 25:02Speaker 5: I He did.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Seven hundred Sundays for a long time, right.
- 25:06Speaker 5: He did. He did, so hopefully he'll do it, and
- 25:12Speaker 5: he seems pretty into it.
- 25:13Speaker 1: I love that. The best was Larry David, who said
- 25:16Speaker 1: it's a dream to be on Broadway. Then he does
- 25:18Speaker 1: that show after about six weeks of the same lines
- 25:21Speaker 1: every night, he can't wait to get the hell out
- 25:22Speaker 1: of there.
- 25:24Speaker 5: Unfortunately, Larry David's show was a play and it was
- 25:27Speaker 5: no good so and he's not I don't think he
- 25:32Speaker 5: really likes stand up anymore because of curd your enthusiasm.
- 25:34Speaker 5: He's so used to being in the show. But anyway, Yes,
- 25:38Speaker 5: a lot of people find Broadway grueling, you know, when
- 25:42Speaker 5: they get there, they think it'll be a lot of fun.
- 25:44Speaker 5: And this is why you see a lot of Hollywood
- 25:46Speaker 5: stars come into plays, especially around Tony time, and the
- 25:49Speaker 5: play is just for a two month run or a
- 25:50Speaker 5: three month run, and that's it. We have a lot
- 25:53Speaker 5: of that going on right now. But Billy Crystal will
- 25:58Speaker 5: be great tonight on Broadway. By the way, I'm going
- 26:01Speaker 5: to see Adrian Brody uh in The Fear of Thirteen
- 26:05Speaker 5: and he has, you know, won the Oscar this year,
- 26:07Speaker 5: just recently, and he has two Oscars for Best Actor
- 26:12Speaker 5: and it's going to be really exciting.
- 26:16Speaker 6: Now.
- 26:16Speaker 1: There are some people who just go to Broadway all
- 26:18Speaker 1: the time. They got every playbill, they just can't wait
- 26:21Speaker 1: for the next brother they do. Then there are other
- 26:23Speaker 1: people that can't sit through those things for a couple
- 26:25Speaker 1: of hours.
- 26:27Speaker 5: Yeah, some of them are hard to They're hard to
- 26:29Speaker 5: sit there if they're bad.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:32Speaker 5: I used to try to go to every single thing,
- 26:34Speaker 5: but of course it's hard to do anymore. And this
- 26:38Speaker 5: has been a busy season right now, but it's a
- 26:42Speaker 5: good season. So and I told you last week there's
- 26:46Speaker 5: a great play that's just opened called Becky Shaw. There's
- 26:49Speaker 5: a lot of terrific stuff going on. So he.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Opened.
- 26:53Speaker 5: That's exciting.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that'll be good Sunday night. What the show that opened,
- 26:57Speaker 1: the Titanic Titanic? Yeah, I saw this off Broadway. It's
- 27:04Speaker 1: been around for a while. It's like a parody of Titanic.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It's kind of wild, it's very broad.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Uh, it's a it's a parody of the Titanic movie
- 27:15Speaker 5: and they have the main character is Selene Dion. So
- 27:19Speaker 5: they have an actress who plays Celine Dion and they
- 27:22Speaker 5: sing you know that song my Heart goes On from
- 27:24Speaker 5: the show from the movie, and they carry very campy.
- 27:28Speaker 5: It's it's not a it's not a like a you know,
- 27:31Speaker 5: a new musical. It's a it's like a forever Broadway
- 27:34Speaker 5: kind of thing.
- 27:37Speaker 1: It's a great idea comedy version of Titanic.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Yeah. I mean, especially if you love Titanic or you
- 27:44Speaker 5: love Selene de Odd, it's definitely the thing to see.
- 27:47Speaker 5: It's definitely the thing to say. Aren't you excited? Aren't
- 27:51Speaker 5: you excited about Madonna? She announced the new album. This Morning.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Got to be honest, I'm not that thrilled.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Come on, it's Donna.
- 28:00Speaker 1: It's on the it's almost sixty eight. Yeah, it's on
- 28:03Speaker 1: the Nursing Home label. It's Madonna. Let me ask you
- 28:08Speaker 1: a question, who the hell's going to play it? Where's
- 28:09Speaker 1: it going to get played?
- 28:11Speaker 5: It's not gonna get played, well, get played in dance.
- 28:13Speaker 5: It's a dance album. It's a sequel to her two
- 28:16Speaker 5: thousand and five album Confessions on a Dance Floor, And
- 28:20Speaker 5: it's going to be, you know, for clubs. It's going
- 28:22Speaker 5: to be for dance clubs. And we'll see if there's
- 28:25Speaker 5: a song for the radio. It's very hard for older
- 28:29Speaker 5: or any older artists, not just Madonna, to get played
- 28:32Speaker 5: on the radio.
- 28:33Speaker 1: You know Madonna, But that's forty years ago. If I
- 28:35Speaker 1: went down to Z one hundred and I said I
- 28:37Speaker 1: got the new Madonna album, They're all going to go, who.
- 28:41Speaker 11: I do?
- 28:42Speaker 5: That's a problem. Well, the her one her one compromise
- 28:48Speaker 5: will be that I think that she's releasing a single
- 28:50Speaker 5: with Sabrina Carpenter, who is the number one you know
- 28:54Speaker 5: Madonna like kid of this generation. Yeah, and although she
- 29:00Speaker 5: is a lot cleaner but apparently she's got to do
- 29:03Speaker 5: it coming with Sabrina Carpenter and we may see it.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Are the people out of Coachella in California may hear
- 29:11Speaker 5: it this weekend because Sabrina Carpenter is doing her second show,
- 29:15Speaker 5: and I guess Madonna is rumored to be showing up
- 29:17Speaker 5: with her and doing the song, so well, hear what
- 29:21Speaker 5: it is.
- 29:21Speaker 1: She thinks they're going to play this in clubs. They
- 29:23Speaker 1: wouldn't know who the hell she is in these clubs. Oh,
- 29:25Speaker 1: they know who she is in club I guarantee you
- 29:27Speaker 1: if Madonna went to a club, the twenty eight year
- 29:29Speaker 1: old bouncer is not going to know who she is.
- 29:32Speaker 5: Well, I don't know. That's that's her world.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Those songs were forty years ago, literally.
- 29:39Speaker 5: I know, I know, but that's her world. That's her world.
- 29:43Speaker 5: And we're more excited about earth Wind than Fire coming,
- 29:46Speaker 5: so that.
- 29:46Speaker 1: I love them. You know, I knew them. Fire was
- 29:49Speaker 1: a friend of mine.
- 29:50Speaker 5: I'm kidding, what's that Fire was a friend of yours?
- 29:56Speaker 1: Not Earth No, I didn't know her whend I met
- 29:58Speaker 1: one that was.
- 30:01Speaker 5: The guy who had your job before. No earth Wind
- 30:07Speaker 5: and Fires coming to the Beacon Theater on June third,
- 30:11Speaker 5: to open the Tribeca Film Festival. There's a documentary about them,
- 30:15Speaker 5: and then they're going to play on stage with the Roots,
- 30:20Speaker 5: and let me tell you, that is huge.
- 30:22Speaker 1: That's going to be huge. The only problem is I
- 30:25Speaker 1: talked to you get all excited. Worth Wind and Fires
- 30:29Speaker 1: come on and then these guys come out with walkers
- 30:31Speaker 1: and canes and you realize.
- 30:32Speaker 5: This is wow. They're they're in very good shape. And
- 30:37Speaker 5: you know, I've seen earth Wind and Fire perform a
- 30:40Speaker 5: few times at like, you know, various functions. I haven't
- 30:43Speaker 5: seen them in a full concert in a while, but
- 30:45Speaker 5: they're they're terrific. And I had a long talk with
- 30:49Speaker 5: Verdin White is the leader of the group, the guy
- 30:52Speaker 5: with the tall and skinny, guy with the long hair,
- 30:55Speaker 5: and he's amazing. He's an amazing guitarist and he's an
- 31:00Speaker 5: amazing singer. And they've never been more revved up. In fact,
- 31:05Speaker 5: they're going on tour with Lionel Richie. So then after
- 31:09Speaker 5: they do the speaking show, then they do a Madison
- 31:11Speaker 5: Square garden show I think in July, so they're they're
- 31:15Speaker 5: going to be all over the place and they're hotter
- 31:17Speaker 5: than ever. Everyone loves that song September.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Oh, they had a lot of great songs. They really, Yeah, lots.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Hey will got in a minute left tell me about
- 31:27Speaker 1: There's a big new documentary on Laurene Michaels. What's the
- 31:30Speaker 1: deal with that?
- 31:31Speaker 5: Oh, it's great. It's opening on Friday. I wrote about
- 31:35Speaker 5: it on Showbiz for on one the other day. They
- 31:37Speaker 5: had a big, great premiere at Alice Tully Hall last week.
- 31:43Speaker 5: And this is the first time that Laurene Michaels in
- 31:49Speaker 5: fifty years really has talked about anything. He never gives
- 31:53Speaker 5: interviews and he didn't want to do this one either,
- 31:56Speaker 5: but he was convinced finally after two years of prodding,
- 31:59Speaker 5: because they had interviewed everybody else from Saturday Night Live.
- 32:01Speaker 5: So then finally he had to give in. And what's
- 32:04Speaker 5: interesting about it is, you know, he's seventy nine and
- 32:07Speaker 5: he's been doing the show for you know, fifty one years,
- 32:10Speaker 5: and he's not going to retire. He's going to stay
- 32:13Speaker 5: there till he can't do it anymore. And he's in
- 32:16Speaker 5: good shape knock Wood, and he loves the show and
- 32:19Speaker 5: you know, he created it, and he's a little concerned
- 32:23Speaker 5: actually that there won't be a show once he's gone.
- 32:26Speaker 5: We thought that maybe he was going to turn over
- 32:28Speaker 5: the reins to someone like Seth Myers or Tina Fey,
- 32:32Speaker 5: but no, no. In fact, I think when he said
- 32:36Speaker 5: that in the film and then he said it to
- 32:37Speaker 5: me again at dinner after the screening, I think, you know,
- 32:42Speaker 5: people like Seth and Tina and Colin Joe just all
- 32:45Speaker 5: went what because they all thought maybe they would get it.
- 32:49Speaker 5: And now he's like, nope, I'm not leaving.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now. It'll go off the year.
- 32:54Speaker 1: I'll tell you why. Same reason as Colbert Network TV
- 32:57Speaker 1: viewership is way down. It's cheaper to run an old
- 33:00Speaker 1: game show there or sell the time. They'll they'll just
- 33:04Speaker 1: put a movie on her, don't run reruns of it. Yeah,
- 33:06Speaker 1: well problem is that's it's a little topical, but you
- 33:09Speaker 1: can edit your way around that.
- 33:11Speaker 5: But they run reruns now at ten o'clock on Saturday. Yeah,
- 33:15Speaker 5: it's a recent But anyway, it's not going anywhere for
- 33:19Speaker 5: the moment. I think he'll you know, if he's seventy nine,
- 33:22Speaker 5: I think he'll probably from looking at him, he looks
- 33:24Speaker 5: like he's in great shape. Not quid. It'll go another
- 33:26Speaker 5: five years. So he's not going anywhere.
- 33:29Speaker 1: All right, Well, Roger Freeman, great stuff. Everybody read his website.
- 33:32Speaker 1: There's new stuff all the time. Showbiz for one one
- 33:36Speaker 1: dot com, Showbiz for one one dot com. Roger Friedman,
- 33:40Speaker 1: thanks for being with us. Thank you, take care. Hey,
