- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I am doing a highly requested episode.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Um, you guys have been asking me to do one about how I aligned my business, how I kind of got started, scale, grew, etc.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna be diving into that today.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I also did a poll on Instagram asking you guys for what specific questions you have.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: So I will kind of do my little rundown and then I will get to those at the end.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: If you want to participate or like submit questions or topics, always DM me on Instagram.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: That's just the best way.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Let me know what topics you want to hear about.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: If you have specific questions about things, you know, always put them in the question box if you see me asking, because that way you're guaranteed to have your question answered because I always answer any questions that you guys have.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Perfect.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Alright, so I'm gonna give you guys kind of like a background of like where I started, what I was doing wrong, um, and kind of like what brought me to where I am now.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: So if you guys don't know, I've been you know making YouTube videos, Instagram for for a while.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, I probably should have like checked how long it's been.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: I want to say like seven seven years.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: We're gonna we're gonna go and we're gonna check on it um YouTube right now.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's been it's been a while.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Literally doing this in real time, guys.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: So you guys are getting literally off the cuff.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Oof, seven years ago.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: That's a long time.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: I feel old.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Seven years ago.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: So I started making videos kind of right before I went into med school.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: So for those of you who don't know, I am a trained naturopathic doctor.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: So before after I finished undergrad, I did a degree in psychology.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: Um, then I had about a year gap where I was just working, kind of figuring out what I wanted to do, found naturopathic medicine, etc.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: If you want to hear that journey, go listen to the first episode of the podcast.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: I'll talk about that.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: But I started making videos kind of right before I went into med school just because I found that it was a great way for me to connect with other people.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: I loved, you know, healthy living, recipes, all of that.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: And so I started making videos.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Sounds that simple, but that wasn't, I wouldn't say like the bulk of my business.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: I would say I was doing that, going through med school, but like growing an audience, growing a business, growing, growing, and growing.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: But I never went viral.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: I never had, you know, some other YouTubers have gone viral and you know, gotten millions of subscribers, and that was never the case for me.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: I feel like that was just not meant for me, which is like totally fine.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Looking back now, I'm totally okay with it.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: And I feel like that's the reason I am where I am now, is because I was being guided to go this way.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: And I think that if I would have blown up for like DIY room decor or something, I wouldn't have been able to help people the way I would have, because I would have blown up doing that.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Nothing wrong with that.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: I just feel like that wasn't probably what was meant for me.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Anyways, so just picture med school, Instagram, YouTube, and I would say that one of the biggest mistakes I made early on, and this I would say I wouldn't say I started my business then because like I was wasn't getting a ton of business.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Like, if you're new to the whole YouTube scene, you need to be having like a lot of views to make like a decent income.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: So it was like good pocket money, but nothing ever like huge.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Because you need a lot, a lot of views that I will say.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: But one of the things that helped me really align was I stopped doing content that I thought everyone else or that everyone else was doing that I thought I had to do.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: So as much as I liked DIY room decor, I like I like watching the videos.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I hated filming the DIY room decor.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Like, I I cringe right now.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: I'm just even thinking, I'm pretty sure like I've archived all those videos on my channel because I had nothing to do with it now.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: But like I was doing those things that was trendy, that's what was going viral, and I was doing things not with the intention of I was sharing from passion and purpose, I was doing things with the intention of what would get views.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: This was not good, and no, it never got me views.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: However, I started to notice a trend.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I think maybe it was like first year when I was in school, like first year of med school.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: I noticed a trend that, like, hey, my recipe videos kind of outperform other videos, and those ones I was doing because I genuinely loved them, and I was like, oh, maybe I should do more healthy recipe videos.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: So then I started doing healthy recipe videos, and this is also when healthy recipe videos and like what I eat in a day started to kind of pick up and started to be more of a thing.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: So I started transitioning more of my content to like healthy recipes, um, but still including things like no back to school lunches, etc.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Also because I was in school, so I feel like it was still semi-relevant for me compared to where I am now.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: But I started transitioning my content to something that aligned more.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And so, what my message for you in this story is that please do not spend like I don't know, three years trying to do content that you think you have to do or to fit the mold, and start doing things that actually bring you joy and is your passion and you feel like it's your purpose.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Now we will see this theme trickle on later on in my business, but this is just like where the start of it I started to kind of like learn.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: So I was doing that, you know, posting my recipes on Instagram, like photos of that, um, getting like a couple sponsorships here and there, but again, nothing that could like support me outside of med school.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: But honestly, I was doing that through med school.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: There's no way I would have been able to, even though I was putting full-time hours into it through med school, there's no way that I would have been able to like meet the work that I was putting in, wouldn't have been able to like cover living costs, for example, um, by themselves, if that makes sense.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: So, and don't get me wrong, through this time when I was like trying to grow my channel before that, I was working, um, no, I had left Jack Astros at that point, which is a restaurant.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I was doing brand ambassador work.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: So, I know these people who like hand out samples and stuff like that.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: That's what I was doing kind of on the side to like while I was trying to build, you know, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, but let's let's go to school.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: So now I'm in school, I'm juggling that, that putting full-time hours into like YouTube, Instagram, etc.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Obviously putting full-time hours into like med school, getting good, you know, good grades, getting straight A's um through that, studying, also trying to like work out, have a life, etc.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: So the biggest thing was that I wish looking back now that I did not burn out and I did not the whole to me, the hustle mentality is just burnt me out and did not do anything for my business.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: I was very much in like the Gary Vaynerchuk, like hustle, hustle, hustle, grind, grind, grind.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Wake up, grind, grind, grind.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Even when I was in med school, like I was in clinic, you know, my fourth year of rotation, I was seeing patients, and every time I wasn't seeing patients, I was back in our like our not like a break room, but kind of like a break room or like what are they even called?
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Not even conversation, discussion rooms, like I don't know, just little offices for each pod group.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I was editing, doing this, doing that, like I was always working.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: If my patients had like needles in, you know, in acupuncture and their treatment plan was done, wham bam, I was like working, doing this, doing that, doing all these little things.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: I was working from when I woke up.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: I'd come home, you know, eat quickly, go to bed, like not go to bed, we'll eat, work, and then go to bed.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I was just like one track mind, I was constantly working.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Weekends I was working, like I just I never even gave myself permission to like watch like a movie, for example.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Like, if I got to watch something, well, that was a waste of time.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I was watching something and engaging on Instagram or watching something and editing a video or watching something and making a thumbnail.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Like, there was never just me relaxing, and that's you would think, oh, hustle, hustle, hustle, grind, grind, grind, you must be getting us a results, your business must have taken off.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Everything aligned when I worked less, hustled less, burned out less.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: And so what's really important to understand is that the when we're talking about masculine and feminine energies, and if you're unfamiliar with this concept, definitely go back to the episode I did about feminine energy.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: But I was working in the masculine, that grind, that hustle.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: We're not meant to work like as feminine beings, we're meant to have flow and ease.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: We're not meant for such structure, such hustle.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: That's why like the whole Gary Vanderchuck thing works for men, but at your feminine essence, you will get so much more if you go with the flow and etc.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: I hope this episode is making sense.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: I'm really just gonna try to tell you my whole like off-the-cuff story because I think you really appreciate this like raw like rawness.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not scripted this, like I have like three talking points on my my thing just to like talk about feminine lack overdrive and you know the whole hell hustle thing, but I want you guys to really paint a picture of like how it progressed in all the lessons I was learning as I was learning it.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: So I was trying to learn this through school, and then I was wondering, like, I've always wanted to work online, but based on how that was going with like YouTube and Instagram sponsorships, I'm like, well, there's no way that this is going to be able to support me.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: And I knew even with like naturopathic medicine and everything, I always wanted to see people online.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Like to me, it was just A, I could reach so many more people, and that was the thing I kept having to align to and why I keep saying, come back to your passion and purpose.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: To me, it was like, how can I help as many people?
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: When I got into that energy of like, well, why talk to one person in a one-on-one appointment?
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: If I can talk to thousands of people on YouTube or on Instagram and help thousands at a time versus one, like to me, that was like my passion purpose, and so coming back to that is always really important.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: So I encourage you when you're trying to align your business, it's not what do you think will make money, but rather what is the purpose for what you are doing?
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know, if you want to create a lipstick brand, are you creating lipstick to make money or are you get creating like lipsticks with shades to like I don't know, empower women or you know, give women clean beauty that like doesn't have any toxic chemicals in it, like whatever it is that you're aligning, like you need to think of what is the passion and purpose behind it, not what will drive money because the money comes after you align with passion and purpose.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: If you're doing things to make money, you will never make money.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: And I wish I didn't spend like so many years stuck in trying to do things that I thought would take off on Instagram or trending on and like, and not to say it's not good to sometimes do trending things, like don't get me wrong, I've done like the viral pasta, like the TikTok feta pasta, but I made the healthy version, whatever.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Like I did it in a way that was still alignment, not something that was like off the cuff, if that makes sense.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: So when I stopped making like DIA or room decors or doing that, you know, I saw even on my Instagram, I saw there was like more likes for food, which is interesting because I have loved food since I was a little girl.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Like I have been in the kitchen cooking since I was like seven, eight years old.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: I had like a little Lives cookbook when I was growing up.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: Like I've always loved to cook, so it was just really interesting how I've kind of melded the whole health and cooking kind of together.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: I don't know, that's just to me really, really interesting.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: My dad was also a chef, so maybe it's also like in my blood to like naturally make good tasting food.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: But if there's one thing I can say, like, not that you don't need to put hard work in the beginning, but burning yourself up, burning yourself out and being on overdrive is not going to help you.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Being in that too much of your masculine and not enough of your feminine energy, your feminine essence, and when I started to work on that and get more into my feminine, that's when really things took off.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: So let's fast forward because this was like the same thing from like years one to four of med school.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: And then after I graduated, you need to like study for a board exam and pass that in order to be able to practice.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: So I had graduated, but I still needed to like study for this exam and pass it.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: So I actually didn't by the time I graduated, studied and passed the board exam.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, it was February of 2020.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: So the rest of this episode I'm gonna focus on February 2020 till now, which has only been a year and a half, oh, a year and eight months, a year and eight months, which is not long.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: And I always appreciate when people are really like blunt and honest about their their journey and they don't sugarcoat things, so I'm not gonna sugarcoat any of this for you guys.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Um, because I think it's really important to understand the growth that can happen when you shift things.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: So I think it's easy for a lot of people to look at, you know, what I've done, like, oh, she's been doing this so long, that's why.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: But I was stuck from when I started until February 2020.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: So finally passed, whoo, passed the exam, yay.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Exciting, right?
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: But I didn't know what I was going to do, and I was still stuck not making enough to to like pay the bills, not making enough to like cover rent or food or like just the basic necessities if I was going to rely on that this whole time income.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Now I had a line of credit for my undergrad, not my undergrad, um, for my med school.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: I didn't have one for undergrad, obviously in order to pay for that.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: So I had a line of credit to fall back on.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: So I still had like there's never where I would be without enough, but I still was putting out more than I knew I would be bringing.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: So February 2020, there were a lot of like personal shifts going on in my life.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I was going to be on my own for like the first time um after being in a relationship for a long period of time.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: So it was a very, I'll be it scary time because I had to figure out my business, I had to figure out how to live, how I was gonna support myself, how to do all of these things on my own for the first time.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Um, and obviously I didn't want to be I don't think I didn't want to be hustling, but like I knew something I needed to change because I was working the 16, 18 hour days, and that wasn't getting me anywhere.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: And I was like, well, why?
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Like I don't understand, like why isn't this working?
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: But the problem is that I was very much stuck in this lack of scarcity mindset.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: I was focused on the fact that like so-and-so has this many followers, or so-and-so's videos blowing up, or it doesn't have this many views, or I'm not getting this many likes, and I was just like stuck, so like what can I do to change this?
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: And it was just a perpetuating cycle of years and years of lack, scarcity, not enough, not growing, not getting likes.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: How can I change this?
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: And then, like, the longer it went on, the only the more frustrated I got because I wasn't growing or I didn't see myself growing as I should, etc.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: And I was at tying my worth to that, but like, then how am I gonna make money for this, etc.?
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: You guys, if any of you are on the online space whatsoever or create content, um you know how hard it is to get caught up in like the numbers, to get caught up in like trying to grow or seeing other people grow and feel like you're not growing.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: And what I mean that like this used to get to me, like I I would like be bawling my eyes out like several times per week because like I didn't understand.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I love like sharing my stuff, I I love what I'm doing, but even though the videos and content I was creating was from passion and purpose, I still had like a I would say a cloud or like a filter of like lack scarcity mindset attached to it, right?
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: I still had all these beliefs.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: Now I'm also gonna trickle in a little bit of a fear of being seen, slash even though I was creating stuff from passion and purpose, like I love creating healthy recipes, etc.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: I was still trying to do it like everybody else.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: I was still showing up on my Instagram, on my videos, thinking I had to be a certain way, thinking I had to be the soft, holistic hemp parts are full of omega 3s and hashtag balance and hashtag moderation.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And now you guys see me on my Instagram, and I'm like, well, fuck that shit.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Like, gluten is toxic, it's gonna mess with your system.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: I am not about to tell you, unless you want like PCOS in moderation or gut health in moderation instead of amazing gut health, you know.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm gonna be blunt.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Like, my true nature is I am blunt, I am honest, I'm a sag, I'm to the point, I am fiery.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: But I was trapped in being who I thought, you know, all the other creators who had quote unquote made it, or people who were bigger than me were being, so I thought I had to be like them.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: So I would just like I don't want to say copy, but like see what was working for them and try to like do it myself.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: But like the reason it wasn't working was because I was not being fully the full expression of myself.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: I was not fully showing up and being as candid or as blunt or as fiery as like my Sag energy is.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: And if you guys have watched me, you know, from years ago till now, I can't tell you how many of you have told me like you've noticed the change in like how I've blossomed or how I've stepped more into myself years ago versus now.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: And I can't tell you how much of my business changed or flourished when I stopped trying to be like everybody else, when I stopped trying to create the same content as everyone else, or being like hashtag balance like everyone else.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: I was like, because that's that's not me.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna like I'll tell you what is like healthy, what is not, I'll tell you, you know, how to correct things, but I'm also not going to to lie to you, or I'm not gonna sell out, you know, I'm not gonna start endorsing like secret deodorant, which is like full of toxic chemicals.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna endorse Olay, whatever.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Not that I ever endorsed anything that I was ever dis in disagreement with, but I just saw so many so many creators who were like making it and getting these big brand deals.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: And I remember I was getting so upset.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I don't understand.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: I'm in so alignment, I don't sell out to the big companies to promote things that actually aren't healthy, even though I run like a healthy Instagram.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: I was actually like, there was a lot of resentment and anger that I had to let go of because like I don't understand why so and so is you know so successful, they're growing, they have this health page, but they're endorsing unhealthy products.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: And to me, I'm like, that's not an alignment.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: And I was like, but I'm in alignment, I reject like so many offers and things like that, and I don't sell out.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Why am I not, you know, making money?
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Why am I not doing this?
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: So February 2020, and I was like, something needs to change because I cannot go on like this.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: I knew something needed to shift, change if I was going to be able to blossom and support myself.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: So I had to A get over my fear of being seen, B, I had to let go of the hustle and work less.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: C, I had to get out of the scarcity mindset, and let me tell you, there was like a week period when I started getting out of the scarcity mindset and getting to the abundant mindset.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: I think it was either I made seven or eight thousand dollars in a week, which again, I'm honest with you guys, I was making less than two a month for the whole of my misses before then.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Maybe oh no, actually, there was a few higher paying like brand deals here and there, here and there, like literally here and there.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: But like on an average, if we were to average it out, you know, I was not making enough to like have to pay rent, buy grocery, etc., without dipping into my line of credit.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: I just wanted to hop on to remind you guys that well nourished is open for the final round this year.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: This is going to empower you to not only live healthy in a delicious and satisfying way, but it's going to dive deep so you can anchor and embody it into a new way of life.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: We're gonna dive deep, mind and body, to ensure that you are well nourished as a whole, so that you can finally understand how to nourish your body in a way that is sustainable long term, so that honestly you can get back to feeling yourself.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: It's not about never eating pizza, it's about making these things healthy and conscious so that you can still feel delicious in your body and as we know get pleasure out of life.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: I'm all about pleasure.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: But first, you have to clear this off of blocking you before you can build in that feeling of being healthy.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: So here's to having a healthy relationship with food that's going to allow you to enjoy with pleasure and have fun while you heal.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Because when you start taking care of yourself, you start to feel better, you start looking better, and you start to attract better.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: And it all starts with you.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: You are one choice away from living a completely different life.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: So if a post, a story, a podcast has inspired you, imagine what a course does.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, it quantum leaps you.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: We fast track the healing journey.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: So if you've been working on this for months, for years, not feeling good in your body, not feeling, you know, not seeing the results that you really want and need, and just like, ugh, Liv, I want to fix this, then you need to get inside well-nourished because it's not just physical, we do emotional too, which makes this the only program of its kind.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: And you have me, Dr.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Liv, with you.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: And each client well-nourished gets not only my full attention, but a custom treatment protocol just for you in our one-on-one.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: And this is like magical gold dust.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Like this is me and you, custom treatment protocol.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: Plus, you get my support for eight weeks, and this level of guidance while having access to me is the reason that you guys see so many wonderful, huge transformations from well-nourished.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: You owe it to yourself to at least open the conversation with me about how I can fix it and how I can have you feeling good.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Because that's all I want to do is have more women feeling good in their bodies, good in their health.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: So check out the link below in the show notes.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: DM me if you have any questions, and with that, let's get back to the show.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Within days, that shifted.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: If you are constantly focused on the lack in your business, not either not getting clients, not getting followers, not getting this, not getting that, all you do is signal to the universe if I don't have this, so the universe continues to give me more.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: Guys, when I mean days, I mean Tuesday till Friday.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: That was the period of time that that happened in.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: And I will never forget that week because I remember I was crying like tears of like, oh my god, I wish I had done this sooner.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: I wish I had real like got out of the scarcity mindset, got out of the lack, I don't have this, there's not enough money for this, whatever.
- 21:59unknown: And I
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Got I shifted, and that is how powerful, like quantum healing and quantum energy can be, right?
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: So, between that embracing more of the feminine, working actually less, working with more potency, not overdriving, not working 16, 18 hours a day, then slowly like releasing my fear of being seen, started showing up.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And I'm not saying it was easy.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: Like, I was scared to be fiery, I was scared to be more that full expression because I, you know, there's so many people, and I still don't see many like healers or health people who are as fiery, blunt, and to the point as me.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: But like, you know what?
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: That's what sets me apart.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: So I implore you to ask, like, what sets you apart?
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: How are you different?
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Because those things that make you different are what's gonna make you grow.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: And now, like, if you fast forward, I've only been because keep in mind, I had to graduate, so I had to graduate, I had to write the board exam.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I've only been in business a year and eight months.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: What is that?
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Eight, nine, ten.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: So 20 months, 20 months of my business, and I've gone from less than 2K to like multi, multi-five-figure months, approaching like very close to six figure months.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: So it really goes to show how much the energetics of your business matter just as much, if not more, than the like the strategy or the logical, or like, okay, you know, committing to I'm gonna post this many times per week or this many videos or this many this.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: The energy behind it, and that's why like I have so much of an energetic focus as well as like a physical focus when it comes to health, but also the emotional energetic side is because it will rule, it will rule the show.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: You can have the most perfect strategy.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: You can like, I don't know, buy some sort of strategy from such and such business person, whatever, and like this funnel, whatever.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it is.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: I don't have funnels, I don't know.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: But like if your energy behind it is not that of coming from service, passion, purpose, and it's coming from, oh no, I hope this works.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, this is not enough.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, I need this, I need this because I'm not, I don't have enough money, whatever it is, it's not going to work.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: So if there's anything you absorb from this, is that your energy behind anything you do, business, but also outside your business, matters so much more.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: You've got to fix the energetics, otherwise you're gonna be stuck like me that I was for years.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Because like logistically, I can't tell you how many people looked at me like, I don't get it.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Like, you put so much content, it's so innovative, creative.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Like, guys, I made Reese's puff cereal from scratch.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: I made tricks healthy from scratch, no artificial colors, no refined sugars.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Like, my like my content was insane, but the lack and scarcity mentality behind it, even though it's passion and purpose, was what was getting me down.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: So, in order to align, you need to fix the overdrive, get into your feminine, you need to fix the lax mindset, slash like the scarcity, and you need to get over your fear of being seen and trying to be like everybody else.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: Because if you try to be like everyone else, you'll get lost.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: And I know this sounds like, oh yeah, you hear this from everyone, you gotta be authentic.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: No, no, guys.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean you need to sit down and think about well, your brand slash your business.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: What is the full authentic expression?
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: If you weren't worried about how people would see you or judge you, etc.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Like, how would she show up to be?
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: What would she say?
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: How would she talk?
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: What would she do?
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: And like for me, I've and it this only gets clearer and clearer as my business goes on, but like you guys can even see in the podcast description, I'm your no bullshit guide to wellness.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: There is no bullshit here.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: I don't be like, oh, go drink some celery juice, it's a miracle.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: Like, no, fuck that.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: That is like that's my alignment, right?
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: That is my that's my passion and purpose.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: It is a no bullshit guide.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: So, what is it for you that's going to do that?
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm gonna get to the questions because there were some really good ones, but hopefully that kind of answered how I aligned in terms of stop burning out, stop with the hustle, like you need to work, but you don't need to grind.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Now, when I see people's Instagram stories and they're like, oh, rise and grind I get up, like do this for 20 minutes, and then it's right to work.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, really?
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: Like, I had my morning routines like two and a half hours, like, and that actually created more abundance for me.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna get to the questions because the questions were really good.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: I screenshotted them.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Um, what is your advice for people that are scared to put themselves out there?
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: You gotta, you gotta find out where your fear of being seen came from.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: So I was always told, and I'm still an introvert, but I was always told I was shy.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: I was a very shy girl.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Like, hide behind mummy, shy to speak up, shy, shy, shy.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: I am not shy.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: My shyness is actually wounding.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: So you need to A, figure out what are you afraid of?
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: Are you afraid of people are gonna reject you, not like you?
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: Well, why are you scared of that?
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Because there are people who are gonna not like you.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: There's people who don't like me.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: There's people who probably like whether they are trolled, whether they hate on me, and like actually leave physical comments, or whether they talk about me behind my back, they're people who don't like me, but I don't care.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: Because I'm aligned with my mission and purpose, and I want to like help heal women, and I want to do so in such a radical way, and that's why I get such radical transformations from my clients.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: But I put that on the back burner, like I don't care.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: So why do you care?
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: Why are you worried about what other people think of you?
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: You gotta understand, like, go back to that wound.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: And I had to do a lot of you know, child work, and I still sometimes have to release at every level.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: I want you guys to understand that you're gonna have to release.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: So when you first start speaking up, you're gonna have to release that.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: And as your business grows and scales, the one thing I've learned over the past like year and a half was that at every level, you're gonna have to release it again.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Like I had to release like my scared of putting myself out there, and then more and more and more on each level, I have to like it gets easier to put myself out there, but I have to clear it again and like clear it a little bit more and clear a little bit more.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Cause it's like, well, at every level, it's a new, a new stage of being more you, being more putting yourself out there, getting into the uncomfortable, right?
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Because let's say you put yourself like you dip your toe into the water.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: Well, then you have to dip your other toe and the other toe and your foot, and then you eventually jump in, and then maybe you go to the deep end, and maybe like it's always progressive, right?
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: So if you're scared to put yourself out there, A, where did that come from?
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: B, what are you afraid of?
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: C probably book a session with me to release that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: I don't know, like either an Akasha reading or an energy healing to release that, but you need to release that um and open up your throat chakra.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, what would you tell people that don't know how to start their own business?
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: First off, stop getting caught up in the how and just start sharing you what you want to share about.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: So, like, let's say I don't know, I'm trying to think of a bizarre one.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know, maybe you're really passionate about let's use clean beauty since I used a lipstick example before.
- 28:50SPEAKER_00: Let's say you're really passionate about clean beauty, clean makeup, um, everything like that.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: Just start by sharing, you know, why it's important to use clean ingredients, the dangers of not using clean ingredients.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Like when I started up before I even started taking clients, like I educate people on gut health and this and that, how to heal and what's good for healthy, and like when brands greenwashed you, like I was I've been sharing for years, just educating, right?
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: So instead of getting caught up on how to start the business, just start educating and sharing the information, sharing what you want, and sharing your passion and purpose, and it'll naturally start for you.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Like I remember even before I graduated, people were asking me when I was gonna be seeing clients and seeing people.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: So it by a byproduct of me just showing up and sharing those things, those people came to me.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: So if you don't know how to start, start there, and then well, if you need more help, we may or may not, I may or may not be taking on a small number of people to start helping them with their business, but leave that there because we're just gonna trickle that in.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: Um, I may be taking on some people soon.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: So if you feel like you need help starting out, just let me know.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Um, and when I start that, that might be for you.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, what made you decide to start incorporating energy healing into your practice?
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: Because I saw how energy slash emotional healing, I'm gonna loop the two because they're the same, changed my health.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: So I had to heal from chronic fatigue, bloating, acne, etc.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: And the supplements and the clean eating only got me like 70 to 80 percent of the way, depending on the day, but I was still sometimes getting bloated, still like with the acne, the acne was still there.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: Um, even though I was gluten-free, dairy-free, had spent thousands of supplements, even on like thousands of different, like thousands of dollars on creams and treatments and antibiotics, like went to dermatologists, etc.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't until I did that that my skin cleared, my gut cleared, and also everything in my life just got amazingly better.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: So I was like, well my god, like if this helped me, like I wonder how many other women out there are trying all these things and it's not working, and they're not having the health that they want.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: And so I was like, Well, I need to share this with everyone because that's what sets me apart.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: There are thousands of other naturopaths who have, you know, went through even the same school that I did with the same training I did, but I bring in the emotional thing, and that's what sets me different, right?
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: Like you have to think about because you all think about oh, it's oh so oversaturated, so over this.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: Yes, but there's also a different person for everyone, and how are you different?
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: So, with me, you don't just get like a treatment protocol and I send you on your way.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: With me, you get daily support.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: With me, you get emotional healing, you get trauma release, and you get like the nutrition and supplements, right?
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: So that's what sets me apart.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: So I also want you to think about when you're aligning your business, how do you get set apart from everything else?
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't have to be big, but just like your mission can even be different, you know?
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: When did you have your idea for your business?
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: Oh you know what h the idea was I kept seeing the same problem over and over and over again.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: It was the same thing, and that's why I created well nourished.
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: Is that I just saw women not nourishing themselves properly, and this used to be me.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: I used to count calories at the whole 1200 calorie thing, like back in uh actually back before I even went to med school, maybe in like undergrad.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: I used to, and so I saw like every time people would come to me, it was the same thing, like they were under-eating, they didn't know how to eat healthy, and I was like, even in clinic, like I was just repeating myself day in and day out, repeating, repeating.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: So I was like, you know what?
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Let me create a program, I'll explain it all in videos, they can watch them, wham bam, thank you, ma'am, and then we can do like the emotional healing, the stuff that no one else does that is like really special to me in live calls.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: So that that was the idea that came from was like instead of repeating myself, like how can I make something that like people can just sign up for, digest on their own, because I keep seeing the same thing over and over again.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: So, like, where are you a, if you're solving a problem, where are you seeing the same problem over and over again, or B, where are you seeing a gap in the market?
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: Like this, since we're on the clean beauty example, I'm just gonna use like my I'm gonna call her my friend.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know, my friend.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: I'll call her a friend.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: This girl I used to went to high school with.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: I've talked a few times, she used to do my brows, we'll call her friend.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: Um, she recently opened up, it's called Paradise on Queen, if you guys live in Toronto, the first clean beauty boutique thingies that like only has clean and cruelty-free beauty in Toronto, something along with that, anyways.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: It was she's like the first to do it where everything in there is clean, everything is cruelty-free, everything is blah blah blah blah, services, etc.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: And like she saw a gap, she was passionate about clean beauty, and for her, it was about opening a storefront for you, it might be online, etc.
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: But think about what it is you're passionate about, and like where is there a gap, and how can you help?
- 33:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, how to start a business that you have a passion for?
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Just start.
- 33:50SPEAKER_00: I know that sounds basic, but start with like how do you want to help people?
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: Well, for me, I wanted to help women eat more because generally they were undereating, and I wanted to heal their gut, and I wanted them to feel like delicious in their bodies and delicious in their skin.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: So, like, how to start?
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: What is the end goal of what you want with your business?
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: How to let's say, because I think you're passionate about interior design based on your your quiet your username.
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: Okay, what does your interior design do?
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: Does it I don't know, inspire people with does it create like good energy?
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: Does it what I don't know enough about just your design, but like, do you know what I mean?
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: Like, what do you want your interior design to do?
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: What is the feeling you want to give people?
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: So start with that, and then start with okay, how can I give this to people?
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: So I wanted people to feel XYZ.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: I could give it to them through this easy-to-digest modules that for some reason nobody explained in health class, you know, how to eat properly, and that's how I'm gonna do it.
- 34:48SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: Hopefully that does.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, next question.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: Only a couple more.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Quit your job when starting a new business.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: I would recommend, depending, like honestly, it really depends on like if you can afford to.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: Um, for me, I worked like a side job uh for a while.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: That would depend on like I would say how financially stable you are.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: But I would make it your new business or whatever you want your dream to be.
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: Like, think of that as your A and the other one as like your B.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Even if you're putting like your nine to five is more of like your regular and you think of the other one as a side hustle.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: I want you to even reframe it as like the nine to five or whatever is your side hustle and the other one's your main business because that simple reprogramming switch will actually bring you more abundance.
- 35:35SPEAKER_00: Because if you energetically think, oh, this is my side thing, then you're only gonna get side money from your side thing.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: If you think about it as your main thing, you get main thing.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: Hopefully that makes sense.
- 35:44SPEAKER_00: So it depends how far along you are in your business, how much of like maybe savings you have saved up, etc.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: I I decided I knew I wanted to make it work.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: So in February 2020, when I was like, well, I need to make money, I need to make rent.
- 35:59SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm tired of living off of like I can only live off line of credit for so long, otherwise it's gonna like be out.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: I need to make this work, and I decided I wasn't going to like get a different job to supplement, I was just gonna find a way to work and do the work to get there.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: So I think that also depends on how much you have saved up, slash your financial situation, slash how much you also believe in yourself, right?
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: Because I fully believe that like this was there was no other option.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: It was going to work because it had to work now because almost because like the stress of it having to work made it work so much more because the universe had to support me, because if it didn't, well then I like wouldn't be able to have a roof over my head, right?
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, and then there's one last question: how do you determine what to charge clients?
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: Great question.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: I think about it as a value exchange.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: So mind you, it's priceless.
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: Like, this is also what I struggle with.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, but it's priceless because like I give you your life back.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: But like, what is the value of what you are giving people?
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: So, like for me, well, technically it's priceless, but like with my programs, whatever, I'm giving them like they no longer get bloated, they feel good in their body.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: So if you were to tap into the energy, like, what is it worth to you if you're feeling like shit to feel good in your body, to have clear skin, to not be bloated, to have like delicious sex with your partner and not be scared of like being seen or having the lights on, you know, having your sex drive back, or for some of my clients, it's getting pregnant.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: Like, cannot tell you how many, like, I think it's like five of my clients right now of people I've seen in the last couple weeks are pregnant.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Like, guys, I don't know, like if I have like a magic pregnancy dust, but like the work I do with people are just like they just get pregnant.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Um, so I think about what is the worth or my kosh readings.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, what is the value of the information they're gonna get in the reading?
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: What is the value of the healing they're gonna get in that 45 minutes?
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: That's how I do it, based on the value exchange or the transformation, right?
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: Like, or let's say you're into your design, like, what is the value of the design that they're gonna get after?
- 38:06SPEAKER_00: So after you design their house, you do all this, what is the value that's gonna give them?
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: What is that feeling and what is that what is that feeling worth to that person that makes sense?
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: And like, yes, it can be priceless because in my case, like it's definitely priceless, feeling like good in your body, healing your relationship with food, losing weight, whatever it is priceless.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: But another thing I like I like to to do is just to put my hand on my heart.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: I tune into the energy and I just ask for a number, and normally I hear I hear a number.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: But that would be my answer in terms of like how to how to price your offerings or how to know how to charge or how to charge for what you're maybe it's a product, um, etc.
- 38:44SPEAKER_00: But I also don't have a physical product, which I know there's a lot that goes into like labels and this and that, so like that's probably a little bit different, but in terms of if you're doing something like interior design or something that I do or energy healing, yeah, how that what is the value of the transformation?
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: Okay, guys, I feel like this was long enough for my little intro to how I lined with my business, stopping burnout, hustle, scarcity, and wounding.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: If you guys have more questions, um definitely let me know.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: Stay tuned for more things like this because I really do want to empower women to well, and men, but I know it's mainly women who listen to myself.
- 39:21SPEAKER_00: Um, that if there's a desire on your heart, like it was placed there for a reason, right?

- 39:34SPEAKER_00: I don't know, people I talk to on Instagram, I feel like they're friends, um that she wants to start her own skincare line, and she's really like hesitant to do so, she's scared, and so this goes like if you are scared, this is like my message for you is to like do not give up on your dreams because that thing you really want to do, that thing you keep thinking about is on your heart for a reason, and you are destined to do it.
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: So if it's on your heart, you are meant to do it in this world.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: It was divinely placed there because the world needs it, and the world needs it exactly how you give it, like the world needs it, how I do it.
- 40:12SPEAKER_00: So do not like do not hold back on all that's within you.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, birth it to the world when it's hard, when it's scary, because it will work, because it's meant to work.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: So just show up each day, give your heart, do not settle, do not quit, do not stand in the vibration of doubt, and allow yourself to have and be all you are meant to be.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: Even when you don't know what the hell you're doing.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, because like I said, if it's on your heart, you are meant to do it in this world.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: If you want to create a skincare line, if you want to do interior design, if you want to, I don't know, make grain-free pancake mix, whatever it is.
