- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to my channel. Are you an a-hole?
- 0:04Speaker 1: That's a weird way to start off the day. You're not,
- 0:06Speaker 1: but today we are going to be reading some of
- 0:07Speaker 1: Reddit's top MI the a-hole threads because those interest me
- 0:11Speaker 1: and I know you love them and we love drama
- 0:13Speaker 1: and that's just who we are. Quiet! I just love
- 0:15Speaker 1: how juicy these are and we get to judge people freely.
- 0:18Speaker 1: They're asking us to judge them. Oh, okay. So we are. Oh,
- 0:21Speaker 1: so my hair is air drying. That's why I look
- 0:22Speaker 1: like a werewolf. This girl, 18 female, got pregnant and
- 0:28Speaker 1: she and her parents want me, 19 male, to step
- 0:31Speaker 1: up and help raise her baby. I am not the dad.
- 0:35Speaker 1: but I wanna go into the corpse. I told her no,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I feel bad though. All right, it's not your baby,
- 0:40Speaker 1: not your problem, right? Let's get into the story. Basically,
- 0:42Speaker 1: this girl I always had a crush on got knocked
- 0:45Speaker 1: up by some random loser and now she's pregnant. She
- 0:48Speaker 1: has been wanting to date me. Her parents want me
- 0:51Speaker 1: to step up and be a man so they don't
- 0:53Speaker 1: have to help her take care of the baby, for the, like,
- 0:56Speaker 1: next 18 years and have her stay with them. She
- 0:59Speaker 1: is not a piece of cake, by the way. Jeez.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But the thing is, I am not the dad. She
- 1:05Speaker 1: said she wants me to be her boyfriend and for
- 1:07Speaker 1: me to get a job and a place for her
- 1:09Speaker 1: and me to live and help raise our kid. Um, what?
- 1:15Speaker 1: My dad told me to tell her to go F
- 1:18Speaker 1: herself and not to put my dreams to the side.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I am young and I am just a kid myself
- 1:23Speaker 1: and to never ever in my life get involved with her.
- 1:26Speaker 1: He said her baby is not my responsibility and he
- 1:30Speaker 1: will be heartbroken if I voluntarily take on this burden.
- 1:33Speaker 1: He fully supports me going into the corpse. I told
- 1:35Speaker 1: her I do not want to get involved with her.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Her dad told me I'm not a real man. Update.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I have been able to successfully block this girl and
- 1:44Speaker 1: her parents on all social media platforms and their phone
- 1:47Speaker 1: numbers and home phone as well as my cell phone.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I have also gotten a temporary restraining order. There is
- 1:53Speaker 1: a legal process that you have to go through for
- 1:55Speaker 1: a real permanent one, but I'm working on it against
- 1:58Speaker 1: her and her parents. None of them are allowed to
- 2:00Speaker 1: contact me by any means, including myself. phone, email, mail,
- 2:03Speaker 1: in person, or by someone else. If they do, the
- 2:06Speaker 1: sheriff will have the deputies go to their house and
- 2:09Speaker 1: bring them to the local jail. What is going on?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Nacho baby, nacho problem, nacho monkeys, nacho circus. Why do
- 2:18Speaker 1: they think that this is your responsibility? What in my
- 2:20Speaker 1: gut is saying, hey, did you tell her you were
- 2:23Speaker 1: gonna be there and then back out? Why does it
- 2:24Speaker 1: feel that way? Read some of the top comments. This says,
- 2:27Speaker 1: not the asshole. She knows you're going into service. She
- 2:29Speaker 1: is going to try and get her and her baby
- 2:31Speaker 1: on benefits. You'll be away. Baby daddy's still around. A
- 2:34Speaker 1: tale as old as time, at least as old as
- 2:36Speaker 1: the corpse. He's not even in the corpse yet, and
- 2:39Speaker 1: he's almost got himself a dependopotamus. That's funny. Get a
- 2:43Speaker 1: Dodge Charger on 30% interest rate before going into basic training.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Really speed run this shit fully. Okay, that's funny. I
- 2:51Speaker 1: think that she's definitely trying not to be a single mom.
- 2:53Speaker 1: This is a trap. And you know what? You get
- 2:55Speaker 1: there and she might get pregnant again to keep you there.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I'm not going against women there. I'm just... That's what
- 2:59Speaker 1: my crazy brain will probably do. So you can't... You
- 3:02Speaker 1: literally cannot judge me on that. Don't do it. What
- 3:04Speaker 1: do you guys think? I think that's literally insane. Insane
- 3:08Speaker 1: in the brain! Next up, am I the a-hole for
- 3:10Speaker 1: pretending to be haunted so my roommate would move out?
- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm already... I'm already into this one, okay. Okay, hear
- 3:17Speaker 1: me out. I, 27 male, live in a two bedroom
- 3:20Speaker 1: apartment that I love. I used to live alone, but
- 3:24Speaker 1: my landlord jacked up the rent So I got a roommate,
- 3:27Speaker 1: 25 male. Let's call him Dave. Hi, Dave. At first,
- 3:31Speaker 1: things were fine, but over time, Dave turned out to
- 3:34Speaker 1: be the human equivalent of a raccoon in a trench coat.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He eats my food, but only the weird stuff like
- 3:41Speaker 1: pickled eggs and expired mustard, never washes the dishes, and
- 3:45Speaker 1: sings sea shanties at 2 a.m. while gaming with strangers online. Wow,
- 3:50Speaker 1: sounds like a chap. I tried confronting him, setting boundaries,
- 3:53Speaker 1: Even passive-aggressively labeling my mustard jars. Nothing worked. So, I
- 3:59Speaker 1: got creative. I started subtly convincing Dave that the apartment
- 4:02Speaker 1: was haunted. Mild stuff at first, knocking sounds while he
- 4:05Speaker 1: was in the shower, flickering lights. Thank you, smart bombs. Whispering,
- 4:10Speaker 1: get out through the vents, etc. It escalated when I
- 4:13Speaker 1: placed a porcelain doll, that I do not own, outside
- 4:16Speaker 1: his door with a note that said, we remember. It
- 4:19Speaker 1: moved nightly. After a week of this, he started burning sage,
- 4:23Speaker 1: muttering prayers in various languages, and sleeping with a salt
- 4:26Speaker 1: ring around his bed. Last night, he told me he's
- 4:29Speaker 1: moving out next month. My friend said I am an
- 4:31Speaker 1: evil genius, but my mom says that I am an
- 4:34Speaker 1: a-hole and that honesty is always better than ghost warfare.
- 4:37Speaker 1: So Reddit, am I the a-hole for haunting my roommate
- 4:40Speaker 1: into moving out? Instead of just kicking him out directly,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I think what you're doing is funny. Also, what you're
- 4:44Speaker 1: doing is kind of obvious, potentially. People said, not an a-hole,
- 4:48Speaker 1: it's too funny, and I love the idea, I think
- 4:50Speaker 1: that's hilarious. For him to be haunted out fairly quickly,
- 4:54Speaker 1: he must have been a fairly unique individual. Your mom
- 4:58Speaker 1: was wrong, not the a-hole. Not the a-hole, you tried honesty,
- 5:01Speaker 1: ghost warfare is always right. You know what? I middle
- 5:03Speaker 1: grounds on this because why haven't you had a conversation? Hey, buddy,
- 5:07Speaker 1: please don't do these things. They bother me. I think
- 5:08Speaker 1: you're afraid to come off as an a-hole when you're
- 5:10Speaker 1: asking to be treated like a total normal person. And
- 5:13Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with that. Am I the a-hole for
- 5:16Speaker 1: letting my kids loot my brother's house? To prove a point.
- 5:21Speaker 1: My brother and his family came for a visit last month.
- 5:25Speaker 1: My kids and I play with Lego and we have
- 5:27Speaker 1: fun leaving little dioramas around the house. Just silly stuff
- 5:31Speaker 1: like a fight between Iron Man and Darth Vader. or
- 5:34Speaker 1: the Loot Llama. Is that from something? I feel like
- 5:36Speaker 1: I should know this. A llama? It is just our
- 5:39Speaker 1: way of leaving Easter eggs around the house. I love it,
- 5:41Speaker 1: keep your life spicy. My nephew really liked them and
- 5:44Speaker 1: decided to take a few home. When we noticed they
- 5:47Speaker 1: were missing, I asked my brother to bring them back.
- 5:49Speaker 1: He said it was just kids being kids and that
- 5:52Speaker 1: he would bring them back the next time we saw
- 5:54Speaker 1: each other. I saw him for coffee and reminded him
- 5:57Speaker 1: beforehand that I wanted all our stuff back. That's reasonable.
- 6:00Speaker 1: He forgot to bring the toys. Okay, game on. We
- 6:04Speaker 1: went over to his place for a barbecue and I
- 6:05Speaker 1: told my kids that unless all our stuff was returned
- 6:08Speaker 1: to us when we got there, literally anything in their
- 6:11Speaker 1: house was fair game. Like the godless barbarians they are,
- 6:15Speaker 1: they went to town. When we left, I don't think
- 6:18Speaker 1: there were any remotes, small electronics, or beer mugs left
- 6:22Speaker 1: at his house. I actually had to sneak the dog
- 6:24Speaker 1: back into the house before we left. I started getting
- 6:27Speaker 1: calls on our way home. I ignored them. When we
- 6:30Speaker 1: got home, I returned his calls. He said a bunch
- 6:32Speaker 1: of the stuff was missing from his house. I said
- 6:35Speaker 1: I would check with the kids. He said that I
- 6:38Speaker 1: well knew what happened and he wanted his stuff back.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I said I would box it up and return it
- 6:43Speaker 1: the next time we saw each other, as long as
- 6:46Speaker 1: we got our Lego back. He was at my house
- 6:48Speaker 1: with my Lego later that evening. He had even accidentally
- 6:52Speaker 1: included stuff that wasn't ours. I returned it and his stuff.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I told him that this is how we should be
- 6:58Speaker 1: dealing with his kid in the future. He is pissed
- 7:01Speaker 1: off that he had to make a special trip to
- 7:03Speaker 1: return my stuff. My parents think that there's a huge
- 7:06Speaker 1: difference between an eight year old taking Lego mini figures
- 7:08Speaker 1: and a couple of teenagers pillaging their uncle's house. Am
- 7:11Speaker 1: I the a-hole? Before we get to the comments, I'm
- 7:13Speaker 1: gonna say no. What a fun way to teach a lesson.
- 7:15Speaker 1: What a fun, delicious, hilarious way. It was fair game.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Not only did you ask, he didn't bring it and
- 7:20Speaker 1: he didn't make an effort to return your stuff. And
- 7:22Speaker 1: your stuff is your stuff. And I think that is funny.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I love that they even got the dog, LOL. An
- 7:27Speaker 1: eight-year-old knows not to take stuff from others while played.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I completely agree. And then somebody commented on that one
- 7:32Speaker 1: and said, when I was roughly that age, I stole
- 7:34Speaker 1: my friend's Pokemon cards. My mom caught on pretty quickly
- 7:37Speaker 1: and extricated the confession, which I made with many tears.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Her response was to march me down the block, still crying,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and make them hand over my stuff with an apology. See,
- 7:46Speaker 1: that's the thing. He should have immediately taken his kid,
- 7:48Speaker 1: brought the Lego back, and had them apologizing, because stealing...
- 7:51Speaker 1: is stealing. There's no way around that. Theft is theft.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Am I the a-hole for treating my coworker differently after
- 7:58Speaker 1: she accused me of S.A. when I saved her life? What?
- 8:03Speaker 1: I am a quiet guy and genuinely friendly. I treat
- 8:06Speaker 1: all my coworkers as friends. About two months ago during
- 8:09Speaker 1: a work lunch, one of my coworkers started choking, so
- 8:13Speaker 1: I did the Heimlich thing to help her. After she's
- 8:16Speaker 1: in the clear and the others cheered, I asked if
- 8:18Speaker 1: she was all right. She just nodded and headed to
- 8:20Speaker 1: the bathroom without a word. So I didn't think much
- 8:24Speaker 1: about it after that. Until two days later, I got
- 8:26Speaker 1: a call into HR for inappropriate behavior. I was confused
- 8:31Speaker 1: and I asked for details. That's when they told me
- 8:34Speaker 1: that my coworker had filed a complaint stating that she
- 8:37Speaker 1: felt my touches when I was helping her was inappropriate.
- 8:41Speaker 1: That my body was too close and she felt my
- 8:44Speaker 1: privates touching her. I gave my statement and they put
- 8:48Speaker 1: me on ice. I was still working with the potential
- 8:50Speaker 1: to be removed. Well, they investigated further. After a week,
- 8:53Speaker 1: I was in the clear. I returned to working normally
- 8:56Speaker 1: without fear. But I started distancing myself from the co-worker.
- 8:59Speaker 1: She tried to apologize, which I accepted and tried to explain...
- 9:04Speaker 1: that she has to tell me that she has trauma,
- 9:06Speaker 1: but still take precautions and only treat her as just
- 9:09Speaker 1: a colleague. She could feel my hesitance towards her and
- 9:12Speaker 1: that I no longer treat her the same as others.
- 9:14Speaker 1: She's tried to say that I'm being ridiculous and petty,
- 9:17Speaker 1: but I told her that I'm just looking after myself. So,
- 9:20Speaker 1: am I the a-hole? I feel very frustrated here with
- 9:23Speaker 1: this one. I feel bad for him. If you know
- 9:25Speaker 1: the Heimlich maneuver that you get behind somebody and you
- 9:27Speaker 1: kind of give them like a humping motion, I get it.
- 9:29Speaker 1: But you saved her life. That wasn't an inappropriate act
- 9:32Speaker 1: at all. You were doing your best. I understand that
- 9:34Speaker 1: some people have some deep-rooted trauma that absolutely could be
- 9:37Speaker 1: triggered by that. But at the same time, that wasn't
- 9:40Speaker 1: what that act was. You had to avoid her now.
- 9:42Speaker 1: That's the answer. You weren't fired this time, but she
- 9:45Speaker 1: has the power to get you fired. And you should
- 9:47Speaker 1: not sacrifice yourself in this situation. That will not solve
- 9:49Speaker 1: anything and only cause you harm. And someone else said,
- 9:52Speaker 1: I'd also suggest approaching HR about her subsequent actions and complaints.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The OP has taken steps back to maintain professional dignity.
- 10:00Speaker 1: She doesn't get to create a hostile environment. Yeah, I
- 10:03Speaker 1: feel like I'm not saying, I feel like some people
- 10:05Speaker 1: are gonna get mad at me for what I'm saying,
- 10:06Speaker 1: but it's just the Heimlich and you were choking, you know?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Maybe there's more to the story that we don't know.
- 10:11Speaker 1: This one literally makes me pretty sad. Next up, am
- 10:14Speaker 1: I the a-hole for telling a plus-size woman about that
- 10:17Speaker 1: I love being skinny. I dread going into my childhood
- 10:21Speaker 1: friend's birthday party every single year. We moved apart a
- 10:24Speaker 1: decade ago, and even though I care deeply about her,
- 10:27Speaker 1: we are very different people now. And her friend group
- 10:30Speaker 1: reflects this. She has this one friend, let's call her Amanda, who,
- 10:34Speaker 1: without fail, has to comment on my weight every single
- 10:38Speaker 1: time that she sees me. You're so skinny! Do you
- 10:42Speaker 1: ever eat? Does your boyfriend care that you don't have curves?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Your legs are like stacks. For the record, I eat plenty.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I just have a fast metabolism, which keeps me super thin.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I have a strong face when Amanda says these things
- 10:57Speaker 1: to me, but truthfully, she's touching on my worst insecurities,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and it makes me feel dread going to these parties
- 11:03Speaker 1: every single year. I was considering not going this year
- 11:06Speaker 1: until I talked to my mom about it. My mom
- 11:09Speaker 1: had what I thought was a great idea on how
- 11:13Speaker 1: to deal with Amanda. She suggested that I pretend that
- 11:15Speaker 1: she's giving me a compliment. My mom told me, if
- 11:19Speaker 1: Amanda says, you're so skinny, just smile and say, thanks,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I love being skinny. And if she looks disappointed at
- 11:26Speaker 1: your response, you'll have proven that she's trying to insult you.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I thought this was great advice. However, I had failed
- 11:33Speaker 1: to mention to my mom that Amanda was overweight. I
- 11:36Speaker 1: didn't realize this meant I was entering potential A-hole territory. Anyways,
- 11:42Speaker 1: the dreaded birthday party date comes. And of course, no surprise,
- 11:45Speaker 1: Amanda immediately looks at my arms and comments on how
- 11:49Speaker 1: tiny they are. I ignored this comment. Then, later in
- 11:52Speaker 1: the day, we're standing in a group together and she
- 11:53Speaker 1: was eyeing me up and down. She chuckled to herself
- 11:57Speaker 1: and said, God, you are so skinny. And I thought, okay.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Here it is. Here is my moment. I turned to her, smiled,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and said, thanks. I love being skinny. And then... I
- 12:09Speaker 1: am completely serious here. She slaps me in the face.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I was in complete shock. I was staring back at her,
- 12:16Speaker 1: mouth hanging open with my hand on my cheek. Everyone
- 12:19Speaker 1: was silent. She suddenly bursts into tears and runs out
- 12:23Speaker 1: of the room. Two of her friends chase her. Only
- 12:25Speaker 1: one other girl and my childhood friend asked if I
- 12:28Speaker 1: was okay, but everyone else just sat there shooting me
- 12:32Speaker 1: dirty looks. I promptly left the party, which sucked because
- 12:35Speaker 1: I had a two hour commute and had planned to sleep. over.
- 12:39Speaker 1: The next day, I was texting my childhood friend about it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: She basically thinks that even though Amanda shouldn't have slapped me,
- 12:44Speaker 1: that I was insensitive for saying I love being skinny
- 12:47Speaker 1: to a plus-sized person. I hate this. I argued that
- 12:50Speaker 1: Amanda had consistently been insensitive to me at every party,
- 12:53Speaker 1: and I didn't comment on her body. Only my own.
- 12:56Speaker 1: She told me that it's different because being skinny is
- 12:59Speaker 1: socially acceptable, and that Amanda wouldn't usually do something like this,
- 13:03Speaker 1: but I triggered her with my... Insult? My mom thinks
- 13:07Speaker 1: I'm in the right, but this was all her idea,
- 13:09Speaker 1: so of course she does. So, am I the a-hole
- 13:11Speaker 1: for saying what I said to Amanda? Let's go to
- 13:14Speaker 1: the comments before I say my opinion here. Hello, police,
- 13:17Speaker 1: I'd like to report a battery. Yes. Literally, that would
- 13:20Speaker 1: have been my first move before leaving. I would have
- 13:22Speaker 1: screamed my ass off until the cops came. Yeah, completely agree.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Not the a-hole. Next time, shut down a bully with this.
- 13:29Speaker 1: I know I'm skinny. It's not a secret. Why do
- 13:31Speaker 1: you feel the need to constantly comment on my size?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Mic drop. So, okay, here's what's going on. Fat girl speaking,
- 13:38Speaker 1: every time she brings up your weight, she's literally insulting you.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Just because you're fat doesn't mean you get to hate
- 13:43Speaker 1: on people who are skinny. Just because you're skinny doesn't
- 13:45Speaker 1: mean you get to hate on people because they're fat.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Here's one comment. If you wanna comment on someone, if
- 13:50Speaker 1: it is not something that can be changed within two minutes,
- 13:52Speaker 1: if it is not lettuce in your teeth or a
- 13:54Speaker 1: flyaway hair, do not comment on people's bodies. Why make
- 13:57Speaker 1: them feel bad about something that they can't immediately change?
- 13:59Speaker 1: There are skinny people who want to be big. There
- 14:01Speaker 1: are big people who want to be skinny. Don't comment
- 14:03Speaker 1: on each other's body. What happened in this situation? You
- 14:05Speaker 1: are not the a-hole. You are allowed to love yourself
- 14:07Speaker 1: for exactly what you look like. Okay? I would have
- 14:09Speaker 1: called the cops. Oh, this one's a deep one. Oh,
- 14:12Speaker 1: and it has updates. Okay. Oh, it was five years ago.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Am I the a-hole for giving up guardianship of my
- 14:17Speaker 1: son to my aunt over my mother after I died
- 14:20Speaker 1: of terminal cancer? There's also an update to this one. I,
- 14:23Speaker 1: 21 male... have a son who just turned one. His mom,
- 14:27Speaker 1: who was my girlfriend, died in labor along with the
- 14:30Speaker 1: other baby she was carrying. I was diagnosed with terminal
- 14:35Speaker 1: cancer three months ago and I don't have very long left,
- 14:38Speaker 1: two months at most. Oh, this was five years ago.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I have accepted that I am going to die and
- 14:43Speaker 1: now I have to think about what's best for my son.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I have tried to decide who my boy would go
- 14:48Speaker 1: to and thought my mother, 55, naturally. Well, then when
- 14:52Speaker 1: I started to think about her situation as my older
- 14:54Speaker 1: 29 year old, I'm guessing sister lives with her along
- 14:58Speaker 1: with his brother, five kids, all five and under. I
- 15:02Speaker 1: decided not to as my mom works with my brother.
- 15:05Speaker 1: And to be honest, isn't really raising your kids more
- 15:07Speaker 1: like dragging them up and complete neglectful. I wasn't going
- 15:11Speaker 1: to put my son in that environment. as I want
- 15:13Speaker 1: someone who will actually care for him. So then I
- 15:15Speaker 1: thought of my aunt, 33. Okay, a lot younger. On
- 15:18Speaker 1: my dad's side, she is a good mother and her
- 15:21Speaker 1: husband is a good father to their three girls. And
- 15:23Speaker 1: I know they would provide for my son. I asked
- 15:25Speaker 1: them and they agreed. I want to put something out
- 15:27Speaker 1: here right now. Don't cry, bitch. I would adopt anyone.
- 15:29Speaker 1: who came to my door and needed a family. And
- 15:31Speaker 1: that's something that Adam and I have been fighting with
- 15:32Speaker 1: a lot is if we want to do surrogacy again
- 15:35Speaker 1: or if we want to adopt. And I just feel
- 15:37Speaker 1: like there's so many kids in the world and it's
- 15:39Speaker 1: so hard here. And my dream is that just some
- 15:41Speaker 1: woman shows up and knocks on my door and says,
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm about to have a baby and I don't want it.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Will you take it? I will take your baby. Give
- 15:46Speaker 1: me your baby. Okay. I'm such a mom. My mother, however,
- 15:49Speaker 1: found out that I wasn't leaving my son to her
- 15:51Speaker 1: and she got very angry with me and that she's
- 15:53Speaker 1: losing me and now losing her grandson. I gave her
- 15:56Speaker 1: my reasons and that she realistically can't raise him while
- 15:59Speaker 1: she's basically raising a man child and his kids. It
- 16:02Speaker 1: all ended with an even bigger argument and now I'm
- 16:05Speaker 1: cooling off at home. I understand that things are terrible
- 16:07Speaker 1: for her right now as I won't be here soon,
- 16:09Speaker 1: but my aunt is a much better choice. It's not
- 16:11Speaker 1: like my son won't know who she is. and walk
- 16:14Speaker 1: between her and my aunts. They only live five minutes away.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Am I the a-hole? So let's do some comments and
- 16:19Speaker 1: then go to the update. Not the a-hole. You are
- 16:21Speaker 1: taking a final responsibility to ensure that your child has
- 16:24Speaker 1: the best chance for success. Don't feel bad about it
- 16:26Speaker 1: and don't let your mother talk you out of it.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I'm literally gonna cry because I'm just thinking about if
- 16:30Speaker 1: something happened to me. I feel so bad for this dad.
- 16:32Speaker 1: You're a good dad, and I'm sure your child will
- 16:34Speaker 1: grow up knowing and appreciating that. I want to first
- 16:37Speaker 1: offer my condolences over the entire situation. You are a
- 16:41Speaker 1: bright and such a kind young person, and I'm so
- 16:43Speaker 1: sorry this is happening. Short answer, no. Not the a-hole.
- 16:46Speaker 1: You have to think of your child as hard and
- 16:48Speaker 1: horrible as all is. I am unfamiliar with how child
- 16:50Speaker 1: custody works once both parents are passed away, but I
- 16:52Speaker 1: might offer a decent solution if you're able to specify
- 16:55Speaker 1: that legally your mother would be able to spend time
- 16:57Speaker 1: with him. Not the a-hole, but I would talk to
- 16:59Speaker 1: a lawyer to make sure your mom can't fight for
- 17:01Speaker 1: him afterwards. Okay. Here's the update. I, if you're wondering
- 17:05Speaker 1: my opinion here, you are making the best choice for
- 17:07Speaker 1: your son. Stick with that. You know what you're doing.
- 17:09Speaker 1: First of all, I'd like to say thanks to everyone
- 17:11Speaker 1: who gave their suggestions and well wishes. Unfortunately, I didn't
- 17:14Speaker 1: get to read everybody's comments as there are so many,
- 17:16Speaker 1: but thank you everyone. Now onto the update. I gave
- 17:19Speaker 1: my mother a few days to calm herself down before
- 17:21Speaker 1: speaking to her again. She eventually came around. She recognizes
- 17:24Speaker 1: that it's not optimal for my son to stay with
- 17:26Speaker 1: her and that he would be better with my aunt.
- 17:28Speaker 1: She knows that my brother is a slob and is
- 17:30Speaker 1: giving him a good kick up the arse to get
- 17:32Speaker 1: his life together and shit. I have spoken with my lawyer,
- 17:34Speaker 1: who has helped me do a lot of things, including
- 17:36Speaker 1: getting my son legally adopted by my aunt and her husband.
- 17:39Speaker 1: He will be staying with me until I... As a
- 17:42Speaker 1: lot of you suggested, I made recordings and videos of
- 17:44Speaker 1: myself giving him advice from milestones. This is gonna mess
- 17:47Speaker 1: me up. For example, when he loses his first tooth,
- 17:50Speaker 1: turning the ages 10, 13, 16, 18, and 21, his
- 17:53Speaker 1: first girlfriend or boyfriend, if he likes, I've made a
- 17:56Speaker 1: video in case in any way he's LGBT +. Leaving
- 18:00Speaker 1: secondary school, going to uni, getting married. If he has kids.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I feel like I need to make these just in case.
- 18:04Speaker 1: You never know. I still have a lot of heart issues,
- 18:06Speaker 1: like health issues, so it freaks me out. Sorry, I'm
- 18:08Speaker 1: not turning this on me. I just feel this guy's situation.
- 18:11Speaker 1: There are also things I put into writing, like how
- 18:13Speaker 1: his mother had died and that he was supposed to
- 18:16Speaker 1: grow up with a twin brother who also passed. I've
- 18:17Speaker 1: also had my lawyer help me set up a little
- 18:20Speaker 1: trust with 40,000 pounds from my girlfriend's father when he died.
- 18:24Speaker 1: She put the money in a joint bank account that
- 18:26Speaker 1: I got when she passed. In case he needs anything
- 18:29Speaker 1: with university or decides to go traveling, all I have
- 18:31Speaker 1: to do now is enjoy the time I have left
- 18:32Speaker 1: with him. I've moved my younger brother into my flat,
- 18:35Speaker 1: so somebody will be able to find me every day
- 18:37Speaker 1: for when I go. When I'm gone, I can at
- 18:39Speaker 1: least be comforted by the fact that the son I
- 18:41Speaker 1: love so much is being taken care of and that
- 18:44Speaker 1: I will see the girl I love again and our
- 18:46Speaker 1: other angel I never got to meet. Thank you all again. Edit.
- 18:49Speaker 1: This is the OP's brother writing this edit. He has
- 18:52Speaker 1: since died. We're all just crying. We're all just crying
- 18:55Speaker 1: in the club. Here's the comments. Hope you read this.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You're an amazing father. I'm not crying. I'm bawling. I
- 19:01Speaker 1: wish I had a dad who loved me the 10th
- 19:02Speaker 1: as much as the OP loves his son, even for
- 19:04Speaker 1: just a day. The circumstance is so heartbreaking. It's beautiful
- 19:07Speaker 1: to see the pure love you have for your kid.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I'm going right from this. I'm going in that house
- 19:13Speaker 1: and I'm hugging my baby. You, sir, are Atticus Finch.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I am taken aback hundreds of miles away in the dark,
- 19:20Speaker 1: watching my computer, reading words on a dark screen. By
- 19:23Speaker 1: your kindness, your story bleeds love. I have no words
- 19:27Speaker 1: other than some random teenager has an immense amount of
- 19:30Speaker 1: respect for you. I don't know if you guys watch
- 19:33Speaker 1: the YouTube channel Soft Light Underbelly. I know there's been
- 19:35Speaker 1: like a lot of drama kind of revolving around Marco
- 19:38Speaker 1: Vida and stuff. But the one thing that he does
- 19:40Speaker 1: fantastic is bring so much light to the fact that
- 19:44Speaker 1: you just need to love and protect your children to
- 19:46Speaker 1: breed a better world. Like they say you want to
- 19:48Speaker 1: change the world it starts in your living room i
- 19:50Speaker 1: love babies oh i want to adopt 400 babies kids
- 19:56Speaker 1: i don't need to be babies my heart's too big Okay,
- 19:59Speaker 1: let's move on to something else. I don't want to
- 20:00Speaker 1: cry anymore. Am I the a-hole for refusing to consider
- 20:03Speaker 1: stopping our divorce after my ex admitted her psychic friend
- 20:07Speaker 1: lied about me having an affair? Dun, dun, dun! I
- 20:12Speaker 1: met my wife, Rana, when we were in college together.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I made the obviously terrible assumption that the fact she
- 20:18Speaker 1: was in post-secondary education meant she had a modicum of
- 20:21Speaker 1: common sense. I'm big dumb. We started dating our senior
- 20:25Speaker 1: year and after job hunting, settled on moving back to
- 20:28Speaker 1: her hometown after graduating. We found an apartment and lived
- 20:31Speaker 1: together for two years before getting married. All good so far.
- 20:34Speaker 1: At our wedding, I did meet an old friend of hers, Anna.
- 20:37Speaker 1: She offered to read my palm. Weird. I am in
- 20:40Speaker 1: construction and I know a few people from that group
- 20:43Speaker 1: and they called themselves Roma. I like watching the TLC
- 20:45Speaker 1: show where they get married and wear big fancy dresses
- 20:49Speaker 1: and live in trailers. Okay. Anna only comes to town
- 20:51Speaker 1: every once in a while. So we see her maybe
- 20:53Speaker 1: four times over the next two years. Last time she
- 20:56Speaker 1: came was Labor Day last year. And that is when
- 20:59Speaker 1: things got weird. All of a sudden, Rona started acting oddly.
- 21:02Speaker 1: She starts checking in on me at work, coming by
- 21:05Speaker 1: when I'm working late. Asking to use my phone because
- 21:08Speaker 1: hers is almost out of power. That sort of thing.
- 21:11Speaker 1: She finally comes out and accuses me of having an affair.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I thought she was joking. So I laugh and say
- 21:18Speaker 1: that I'm not. This sets her off like a Roman
- 21:21Speaker 1: candle because Anna told her I would laugh it off
- 21:25Speaker 1: when Rona told the truth. I laughed because it was ridiculous.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I barely had time for a relationship with my wife
- 21:30Speaker 1: and job. I am home all weekend long. When I
- 21:33Speaker 1: go golfing, her brother is almost either in my foursome
- 21:36Speaker 1: or at the club. And most important of all, I
- 21:39Speaker 1: love my wife. I wouldn't do anything to harm her.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And yet she takes the word of Anna, the psychic seamstress,
- 21:45Speaker 1: over mine. She asked me to leave our apartment. I
- 21:48Speaker 1: say no, because I have nowhere else to go. So
- 21:51Speaker 1: she leaves and moves back with her parents. They think
- 21:54Speaker 1: she's nuts too. I spent the next few months working
- 21:56Speaker 1: and trying to convince her that I am not cheating
- 21:59Speaker 1: and that I want her to come home. And I
- 22:01Speaker 1: didn't even get to stick around for Christmas when I
- 22:03Speaker 1: would normally go home to see my family. They've been
- 22:05Speaker 1: following all the stupidity without commenting until then. At Christmas,
- 22:09Speaker 1: they had an intervention. They said my wife was having
- 22:12Speaker 1: a break from reality and that she wasn't coming out
- 22:14Speaker 1: of it. My dad told me to give my head
- 22:16Speaker 1: a shake, which he only does when I am being
- 22:18Speaker 1: monumentally stupid. When I got back, I went to a
- 22:21Speaker 1: lawyer and I started my divorce. That was in January. Finally,
- 22:25Speaker 1: at the beginning of April, Rona calls me to talk.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I say that we should talk through lawyers. She starts
- 22:30Speaker 1: to cry and I agree to meet her in public.
- 22:32Speaker 1: If she will allow me to record our conversation... So
- 22:34Speaker 1: I can give a copy to the lawyer. She eventually agreed.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Turns out her and her parents hired a private detective
- 22:41Speaker 1: to find my affair. Six months and a huge bill later,
- 22:45Speaker 1: zero evidence of an affair. Dun, dun, dun. She finally
- 22:50Speaker 1: believes me and wants to come home. I tell her
- 22:52Speaker 1: that our lease is up in July and I already
- 22:54Speaker 1: found a job in Denver near my family. She said
- 22:57Speaker 1: that she wants to come with me. I respectfully declined.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I told her that we were just not right for
- 23:02Speaker 1: each other. The truth is that I do not want
- 23:04Speaker 1: to have any of my offspring to share DNA with
- 23:07Speaker 1: this dingbat. Anyway, I am moving ahead with my divorce.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I am gutted. And she took her friend's psychic vibrator.
- 23:13Speaker 1: That's the way I say that. Her family has approached
- 23:15Speaker 1: me several times. The last time her dad offered to
- 23:18Speaker 1: front us a 25% down payment on a house if
- 23:21Speaker 1: I agreed to marriage counseling instead of leaving, I politely declined.
- 23:25Speaker 1: I cannot be bought. Ronna is now depressed, and I
- 23:30Speaker 1: see no way of ever trusting her again. She is
- 23:32Speaker 1: young enough that she can marry again and wreck another
- 23:34Speaker 1: guy's life. Am I the a-hole? And then edit, I
- 23:36Speaker 1: meant to write psychic vibrations, not psychic vibrator, but I
- 23:39Speaker 1: like the idea better the way I actually wrote it,
- 23:41Speaker 1: so it stands. I agree. Not the a-hole. Once she
- 23:44Speaker 1: took the word of a psychic over you, it was over.
- 23:47Speaker 1: The fact that she then convinced her parents to hire
- 23:49Speaker 1: a PI to get in on your infidelities is just
- 23:52Speaker 1: the icing on top. What else will she blindly believe
- 23:55Speaker 1: when her psychic friend tells her another vision? run don't
- 23:59Speaker 1: walk i once worked with an older male colleague this
- 24:02Speaker 1: man would hustle out of work at 4 p.m every
- 24:03Speaker 1: day and not a second later turned out that his
- 24:06Speaker 1: wife had been accusing him of affairs the whole marriage
- 24:08Speaker 1: and that if he was five minutes late getting home
- 24:10Speaker 1: she would absolutely blow making life hell for him for
- 24:13Speaker 1: weeks afterward i learned that his behavior in his wife
- 24:17Speaker 1: started innocently in the early years of their marriage and
- 24:19Speaker 1: had ramped up to level 10 crazy over the years
- 24:21Speaker 1: by that time they had kids a mortgage and it
- 24:24Speaker 1: was impossible for him to financially leave She gave you
- 24:26Speaker 1: a gift. Take it. I completely agree. I want to
- 24:30Speaker 1: do a video with marriage and relationship advice because I've
- 24:32Speaker 1: been in a relationship for 17 years and the number
- 24:35Speaker 1: one thing in a relationship is trust. You trust your
- 24:38Speaker 1: spouse over anyone. And that was something my mom always
- 24:40Speaker 1: told me. Cleave to your spouse. They are your number
- 24:42Speaker 1: one person. Your number one person you're going to be
- 24:43Speaker 1: connected to that you're always going to be around. You're
- 24:45Speaker 1: number one. Okay? If you cannot trust your spouse, you
- 24:48Speaker 1: have nothing. I think sometimes things happen. Infidelity can happen.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I think 5% of the time you can work through that.
- 24:54Speaker 1: But if somebody shows you who they truly are, get
- 24:58Speaker 1: out of there. Soulmates are a thing, but we all
- 25:00Speaker 1: have a bunch of them, I promise. I think you
- 25:03Speaker 1: are not an a-hole. That's it, my goodness, darling. I
- 25:08Speaker 1: loved reading Am I the A-hole stories. I hope that
- 25:11Speaker 1: you love these. Drop things below that you want me to,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and also, if you're not subscribed, what are you doing?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Share this video. I like reading these. This is fun.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Please let this video do well, because I could literally
- 25:20Speaker 1: post this every day. Okay. I love you. Stay spooky,
- 25:23Speaker 1: Boo Crew. Don't forget, grab this. We are pretty much
- 25:25Speaker 1: sold out. So if you want a Balehole House deck,
- 25:28Speaker 1: check it out right now. I love you. Until next time,
- 25:30Speaker 1: stay spooky, Boo Crew. Every time I hit record, I
- 25:36Speaker 1: have to do this.
