- 0:03Speaker 1: the north florida sports network.
- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, welcome back.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's the instant reaction.
- 0:19Speaker 1: The north florida sports, the North Florida Sports Network.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I'm goddamn madder than shit.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We continue that.
- 0:27Speaker 1: 29-13.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Clemson the winner, and I would say probably a game they could have won by more, although you almost could say Florida State could have.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You know a couple breaks here.
- 0:43Speaker 1: They could have pulled out some.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You know a couple of breaks here it could have pulled out some.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You know a couple of plays, but total yardage was five to two, 500 to 200, pretty much.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Um, a couple of block kicks in there.
- 1:03Speaker 1: So, and the red zone defense for FSU was solid.
- 1:10Speaker 1: There you go See.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Hey, I'm positive, brock Lynn played his ass, played hard.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I thought should have had a couple.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I mean again, the drops continue.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Uh, the drops just can continue to happen and they're team wide.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Everybody's dropping them, so just got to keep throwing them.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I thought he made some really nice throws.
- 1:43Speaker 1: He made one really bad one, but he came back and he's going to keep shooting it and it was fun to watch, even when his offense is still like work.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It's not good.
- 1:57Speaker 1: He can't run the ball.
- 1:58Speaker 1: But 29-13.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But 29-13.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Let's do the team stats.
- 2:08Speaker 1: 500 ended up being 250.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Florida State was getting yards all the way to the end.
- 2:16Speaker 1: So 228 to the air for the Noles, 22 rushing yards, and that's including the scrambles.
- 2:30Speaker 1: At the end they couldn't run the ball at all, not even a sliver.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That's going to be a problem.
- 2:35Speaker 1: First downs 28 from clemson, 15 from florida state, 6 of 15 on third down to 4 of 16 for Florida State.
- 2:45Speaker 1: 6.8 yards per play to 3.9 for the Seminoles, and so the lines were getting dominated here and you had a few plays you would make.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You know, had some block kicks and the defense didn't allow touchdowns on every drive.
- 3:12Speaker 1: They allowed a lot of field goals.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Congrats on that.
- 3:15Speaker 1: But if you catch the ball, you you know you got to catch the ball and I know.
- 3:23Speaker 1: But it's good to see the young guys dropping them.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But williamson, I mean, he lost his footing but the ball hits him right there.
- 3:30Speaker 1: That's it.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That's got to be in a touchdown.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So, clemson, if you're a Clemson fan, you probably feel like you could have blown Florida State out even further.
- 3:46Speaker 1: But there was time there.
- 3:48Speaker 1: In the second half you're like oh my God, we're a two-point conversion, away from this game only being a one-possession game and just mistakes across the board.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Bad snaps from your veteran center.
- 4:06Speaker 1: That's not going to.
- 4:09Speaker 1: That's not how you do it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You can't penetrate anything on the offensive line at all, like at all.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So this young quarterback has all of the pressure on him and I thought he played his best game.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yet I thought there's a lot to like about Brocklin.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You saw it, this arm strength.
- 4:36Speaker 1: He threw some darts that did get caught.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Ja'kai Douglas did have a drop, but he came back with some big catches and that's what you got to do.
- 4:48Speaker 1: But Danzy, the young kid from Florida High, right here in Tallahassee, he had a drop.
- 4:57Speaker 1: The ball hits you in the hands.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I know it's hard and it's the first game, but it's still that's ball and you gotta catch that.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And those are throws that could have even improved Brocklin's numbers even further His numbers as they were on the day.
- 5:21Speaker 1: He ended with 23 of 41 pass attempts.
- 5:25Speaker 1: That's not what you want to see.
- 5:26Speaker 1: 23 of 41, two touchdowns and he did have the one pick, but that was it could have.
- 5:32Speaker 1: They could have had maybe another one.
- 5:34Speaker 1: But I mean, when you can't run the damn ball.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I thought he played pretty damn well for the stakes.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It looked hard for him and he kept his.
- 5:47Speaker 1: He hung in there.
- 5:49Speaker 1: But, man, the lines look terrible, despite, from, you know, some spots, here and there the running backs look like they have no hope.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Everything's getting stuffed.
- 6:06Speaker 1: The running backs are running our guys over.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Maffo ran for a lot Between the 20s.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Clemson did whatever they wanted.
- 6:18Speaker 1: They weren't able to get the touchdowns in the red zone.
- 6:23Speaker 1: If you know, they probably would want some back, but I will say this they didn't turn the ball over and you had to almost get some of those.
- 6:38Speaker 1: You have to get those kind of plays.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Uh, click, club nick, his uh difference this year he's playing with more confidence and he's running the ball.
- 6:47Speaker 1: He's very, not.
- 6:48Speaker 1: He's very athletic.
- 6:49Speaker 1: He finished the game 19 to 33, 235, two touchdowns, but 25 carries, 154 yards on the ground.
- 7:00Speaker 1: So just a big dose of him.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And then club Nick added 62.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So there you go, and then they were able to throw off.
- 7:15Speaker 1: That it was.
- 7:20Speaker 1: But I mean, there's the bright spots and they fought hard.
- 7:25Speaker 1: But, man, you looked outmatched at some points and the mistakes keep happening.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Everything has to.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Everything is so hard, it seems.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Keep happening.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Everything is so hard, it seems.
- 7:35Speaker 1: It'd be nice to have some flow or some execution, but this team is not going to have that and they're staring 2-10 right in the face.
- 7:49Speaker 1: They go into a bye.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's a fine line.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You got to stay positive, which I think they will.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I think you keep playing the young guys.
- 8:03Speaker 1: There were flashes of Mari Williams, jimmy's guy.
- 8:06Speaker 1: He played a lot, thomas, so you saw the new tight ends.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I think you got to keep rolling with that and I'd like to see more young receivers play.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Um, but the drop's gotta stop, you gotta keep.
- 8:22Speaker 1: But if you're not able to run the ball, you're gonna keep having to throw and it's just going to be a long, long season.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Long season I mean the right to a.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Philly officially had 16 yards on 10 carries.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Nothing for Cam Davis 6-13.
- 8:59Speaker 1: He had a big catch he made on the sideline Millie Benson, but it was called back Holding on Otto who got completely destroyed and had to tackle the guy as he was getting plowed over by him.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So embarrassing enough.
- 9:17Speaker 1: But the mistakes with the bad snaps, the drops, it's not what you want to do when you're going for the upset and you don't turn the ball over either.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Other than that, the effort was there.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I think if you're an FSU fan, you're excited about Brock Lynn and you want to see more of him and you want to see more of the youngsters.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Keep it rolling with the youngsters.
- 9:50Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Oh, I got to get on out of here.
- 9:53Speaker 1: My ride's here.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Oh, it's Miami.
- 9:55Speaker 1: They got the Miami Cow game on in the back.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Oh, check that out.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Sleep, I'll get back in the morning.
- 10:06Speaker 1: We'll react to the game.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Try to keep it positive here.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It was good to see the young team, clemson as it pans out.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Their schedule looks really, really light.
- 10:25Speaker 1: The only ranked team on that schedule lost today to SMU, who now looks dangerous.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Clemson should be able to run the table and they probably will have to with that type of schedule and to get the automatic bid.
- 10:45Speaker 1: That's what it looks like.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And then the big conferences will try to get four automatic bids each, trying to get four automatic bids each.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Don't be surprised to see something identical to that this year by the committee.
- 11:09Speaker 1: But anywho, apples to oranges or dollars to Nothing, acc, unknown, and damn Cal Berkeley.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Primetime Atlantic Ocean, or is it not for the Atlantic Ocean, it's for another, it's just Atlantic, talking about the whole region here, not specific, not possibly.
- 11:54Speaker 1: We won't get specific about it.
- 11:56Speaker 1: It's getting late 1-5.
- 12:03Speaker 1: The Noles move to, and it's going to be an off week though, so you can't lose.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Next week I'll react to it some more.
- 12:18Speaker 1: We'll look at it, watch all the NFL games, and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I'm goddamn mad at her shit.
