- Jen: if you got this, like a Tahoe or I don't know, I'm trying to think of what else the ⁓ a fat ⁓ this is so random, but a fancy trash can. Like just things people are listing things that they thought were like, ooh, if you've got that, you've you're good, yeah. But then as they got to adulthood, they're like overrated, don't do it, whatever. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: This means you made it? Hmm. ⁓ I could say that for Escalades. I used to think Escalades were the shit, isn't it? And they are horrible. They are just are money dumps. Shaun: Mm. Escalates for sure. Jen: Mm, mm. Yeah. Yeah. Have so many things wrong with them. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Cadillacs are not great cars, unfortunately. Cause I've always won a one. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Stillantis, isn't that the maker? Or something like that? The maker. Shaun: Isn't that the what? ⁓ Yeah, you know what I thought she said. They're the yeah, they're the Yeah. Barry: Of what? Stellantis? Jen: What did you think I said? It's like the may yeah, the big company. So the parts company, like the the ones that make and build and supply the parts. It's the same thing over Cadillac, Dodge, Jeep, yeah. Yes. Yes, it's all provided from this company called I Thought Stillantis, but y'all are looking at me like I'm crazy. So maybe it's not that. ⁓ okay. Barry: I have no clue. Shaun: Catalog GMC, Dodge, yeah, all of those. They're all still answers. Barry: It's all G ⁓ That's G ⁓ General Motors. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Never heard of it a month. Shaun: No, you're right. No, you're right. That is it's still Antis. Yeah. Yeah. Big conglomerate. Mine was a spiral staircase. If you had a spiral staircase, like that meant that you made it. Like you had big time money. Barry: I've never heard of that in my life. Jen: Yeah. Ooh. Yeah. That's a good one. Barry: Or if you just have a death wish, that's all that is, Shaun. Are you kidding? If I was drunk going down a s I would die. Shaun: True. Could be that too. Never knew. Jen: Yeah. He get dizzy. I'm a little white. Shaun: Mm. Barry: Just be fallen. Jen: Ha ha ha. Shaun: Like a leash of keys, just keep falling. Barry: For real. Jen: I keep on Shaun: Hey. See, Barry, there she goes. She does it. Barry: Bust out and I mean you prompted her. Jen: You dun pay attention. What is that? Shaun: Breaks out in the song. Exactly. That's true. I think it is just that you don't pay attention. Barry: That was during that era too, bro. R and B was still hopping during the early two thousands, man. That was like one of the hardest eras of music, bro. Shaun: Doug. That's what I'm saying. Like I don't know if it's even debatable. Jen: He's like that. No, but for real. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: We were just like I sent him a clip, I guess I could send Nelly was like, I lived in the hardest hip hop era. 'Cause he was like it was Jay Z, DMX. I mean Outcast. We didn't even talk about Outcast like well, T I, he didn't even mention T I. That was when Kanye like literally first came out and he was freaking dope and sane. Yes. Yeah, I mean all those, yeah, dude. Yeah. Jen: Love it. Yes. Mm hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah, he didn't even mention them, yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. He was a normal person. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Nice. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Gucci Mane, Jadakiss, like all of them. Yeah. Miles was a little bit before, but I mean he was still he was still out during that time. Yeah. That's what I'm saying, like I don't even know if it's debatable. I think that's purely just the best time for rap and hip hop. Yeah. Jen: It was a good it was a good time. He was still there. Barry: You're still relevant. Bruh. No, there is no debate. Yes. There was so much good hip hop. North, south, east, west, it was all pretty dope. Jen: No, no. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Damn, I just realized I left my book in my bedroom. I ain't going to get it. I'll be alright. Studium far. I'm so tired of Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Hm. Jen: It's too much. Shaun: ⁓ so what's our I know we're gonna do our weekend review. We're gonna talk about Bron. Jen: We can review. Mm-hmm. Shaun: ⁓ were we gonna do the would you rather? Did you did you have one? Jen: Would you rather? No, but I can find one. Shaun: Yeah, okay. Barry: Shaun only found sexual ones, apparently. Shaun: I do. Jen: ⁓ Shaun: I only found sexual. ⁓ yeah, that was a while back. Yeah. That was a while back. I found this. I do have a a game we can play if y'all want to play that. One thing that I will say about listening to the show from last episode is that we have to like think about the audio listeners when we do whiteboard games and say what it was. Yeah, so we're gonna have to, yeah, we'll have to do that too. Yeah. Barry: No, I'm joking. Jen: Mm. I was thinking the same thing. Yep. Yep. Barry: Green. Agreed. Are we playing a game with the whiteboard today? Shaun: Well that's what I'm saying, if y'all want to, we can. I don't know. Jen: ⁓ yeah, I I was like, I gotta go get my watchboard. Barry: I was gonna say let me know 'cause I need to grab my supplies. Shaun: We can either do that or we can do a would you rather. I d I just don't have a would you rather so I can look one up. Jen: Let me look real quick. Barry: Messing my blanket up. Jen: Let me see. Shaun: Messie Gillo, Gillo. Jen: Do we just want one like controversial would you rather that we talk about for a while or you want like a few? Like a would you rather segment. Shaun: I think I mean, if we just had one for now, I think that could be good for this episode, but that could be something that we Barry: But it would need to be able to like be a deep deeper dive, not crazy deep, but at least like fifteen minutes I would think. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: I don't know what that is, but Shaun, do you hunt your hunter? Shaun: No. I mean I've I went like forever ago when I was younger, but I don't hunt. I want to. I wanna go hog hunting. I think that'd be really fun. Why are you shaking your head? Barry: Tal reason. Shaun: Gone and say it. Jen: He said, Get that sh off if you're not gonna go hunting. Barry: No, I don't care if people hunt, man. No, and I don't care if you wear camel, I was just curious. Shaun: ⁓ Yeah, I wanna go Hog Hunt, 'cause they're a nuisance. Barry: ⁓ if you mm give a damn, huh? I mean don't go hunt and waste of animal if you're gonna use the animal. Shaun: I know. Yeah. It's always to use. Barry: I mean and I know hogs are like a ⁓ what's it called? Invasive species. So they need to be controlled. But do you eat hog? I'm not saying you personally, like is that a thing you eat after you hunt it? Or is it just you kill it and it's just fun? Shaun: Yeah, it's like open season. Yeah. Yeah, you can eat all two. Yeah. A lot of people do it. Yeah. It's like a more gamey version of like pork, basically. Yeah. But I mean, you can do it. Jen: Bacon for days. Barry: I didn't know how the meat was is it gamey? Bacon. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: No, I'm good. I like to try most things. I've eaten none. Kangaroo. That shit was good. Shaun: Dang. You like deer, venison? Barry: Don't mind it. Jen: I love venison. Shaun: Dang. Rabbit rabbits pretty good. Ever had a cone? Barry: Mm-hmm. Rabbit is good. I've never had a coon. Shaun: See, I don't think I could do that. Barry: That sounds real rodiny. Never am I gonna eat a squirrel unless I was stranded in the wilderness. Shaun: Yeah. I don't know. I've heard squirrel meat's good. I haven't had it, but yeah. Squirrel meats too, rabbits too, those types of things. Barry: Speaking of getting stuck in the w well, I guess I could talk about that on my weekend. Shaun: Good and stuff you got ⁓ never mind. Okay, yeah, we'll talk about that. I don't think you got stuck somewhere. Jen: Hm. I don't know. I don't really like any of these. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I know they're all kind of whack when I look at them. Jen: I mean, they could spawn conversation, but I wouldn't like bank on it. And they're all just kinda like Hm, all right. So it looks like we might be playing your game, Shaun. What game is it or do we not get to know? Shaun: ⁓ Hm, that's a good question. I guess that we could do I could tell you what it is. I don't think you have enough time to like look stuff up, so I think we could do that. I was just gonna do like it's almost back to school, so I was thinking we could do are you smarter than a fifth grader? Jen: Okay. I'm so scared. Yeah, I'm so scared, but sure. Shaun: Which I don't know if it's fair because Barry used to be a teacher. Ex exactly. Yeah. Cause they all both have kids. Barry: That doesn't mean I'm gonna know everything 'cause I've forgotten a lot. Jen: Are you smarter than a big grader? ⁓ can I ⁓ text my husband for answers? No, just kidding. Shaun: No. Barry: So are we doing it? Do I need to get a whiteboard? Jen: Yeah, I guess let's go get our way. Barry: ⁓ So F and tired. Shaun: Same. I was laying down. Which hindsight probably wasn't the best idea, but Barry: No, that's when your body starts to relax. Shaun: Mm-hmm. But I just feel like I needed to for a second, just for a second. Barry: You done messed up, A Ron. Shaun: Dog, I'm hoping d I hope he doesn't fuck us over because I was looking at the calendar earlier and I messaged Mandy. I was like, hey, I should have let you take these workshops and I took your bot for Wednesday. And she was like, dang, why wouldn't why didn't we do that? So I have two back to back workshops for IT that Shelly just dropped on me. ⁓ so I have to do those. Yeah. Barry: What's happening when's there? Jen: So fine. For what? Shaun: ⁓ one is transparency, the other one is Barry: But what areas of IT? Shaun: Something else. IT. ⁓ it's it's just like a mixture group. Yeah. I just don't wanna do it. I don't wanna have to go to the office twice this week. So I don't know if he's gonna let us switch or what, but hopefully so. He's a fucking asshole, so probably not. Me and Mandy were gonna switch. Barry: That was pretty shiny. You know he won't. He's a dick. Yeah. Mandy. Jen: Who's trying to switch with you? ⁓ Okay, but can we talk about Well, now I'm scared to talk mess in case Barry: No, we'll verify. Well, I cut that shit, Shaun. Shaun: We can cut it. Yeah. Well that's what she said, yeah. Yeah. That's crazy. Jen: Well Barry: No, I'm dead serious. It cuts off in a random ass spot. Like if I didn't cut it, it would have played the whole thing. It was like ninety seconds in and it was like in the middle of us talking. So it was not I don't ⁓ at I I told ⁓ like I said, I'm just gonna stop publishing from the editing file. I think that has part to do with it, 'cause that's a new feature and at least if I export it I can look at the file and make sure. Just kinda watch a couple of different spots. Shaun: Dang. Jen: ⁓ Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Seems to like to add shit at the end for some reason. Jen: Yeah. Like a five minute clip of yeah. Five minutes of just our theme song. Barry: That's where it added that other clip. Shaun: Just talking. Barry: Weird. Shaun: Well what were you gonna say though, Jen? Jen: I honestly can't remember now. What were we talking about? Shaun: Dip shit. Aaron Barry: ⁓ yeah, you said let's talk about something when we were talking about you him trying to switch. Jen: ⁓ I was just gonna say after the last department meeting I felt there was a lot of hostility in in the room. And yes. D what am I crazy between everyone? Barry: Really? Between whom? I wasn't there, Jen, so I don't know. Shaun: ⁓ that's that's what I've been saying since they made this change. Like it's we are not the same department since they've done this. Yeah. Jen: ⁓ no. And I feel but I feel like most of the day was pretty chill. ⁓ sorry guys. sorry. Yeah. I'll take it. no, I feel like the whole day it was pretty chill. I do think it was very plotted and pre-planned that Aaron sat right next to you. ⁓ Barry: ⁓ no, I bef when I left we weren't the same department, so I could only imagine. Shaun: Here we go again. It surprisingly doesn't show up in the recording though. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: It doesn't. It does a good job of cutting that shit. Shaun: ⁓ I don't know. Jen: But I for sure. But Shaun: I think that was just an unfortunate series of events that You think so? Jen: No, I think it was like I'm gonna go sit next to them. Barry: Becca said it had something to do with seer seating. Like it just the way it timed out I think is what Becca made it sound like. Jen: I don't I mean I wasn't in there. I saved my seat and I was like the last person to walk in, but I have my seat saved. Barry: No, Becca said it was ox she said it it was unfortunate. Shaun: Yeah. I Yeah. I think he was just trying to find something and then ⁓ I like how Evan used the language like Aaron's more important than the table for the tacos or whatever she said. I'm like of course he's more important in your eyes. He's more important than anything to you. So Jen: ⁓ ⁓ okay. Yeah. But you didn't feel like at the end because I feel like throughout the day it was pretty chill and like most everybody was like I don't know, it was just pretty chill, like everybody was in a good mood, whatever. And then we did that thing at the end and I felt like Evan was real mad and just everybody was it was a we did like a testing work tango thing. Yes. So we're Yes. Barry: What was the thing at the end? Shaun: ⁓ the c constellation thing. Well sh she took it personally, which she should because it's Barry: ⁓ well y'all gone on a call with them, right? Jen: Yes. So we did this. So we did this testing thing. I can't believe Becca hasn't told you about this. So work Tango is testing this live feedback focus group functionality where you can gather a bunch of people, it'll ask them questions. It's a and as they answer, it will kind of make do you remember what's that feature that we had, Shaun? Barry: Took what personal? She told me a little about it, but she didn't make it sound like this, I don't feel. Shaun: Right. Barry: Mm-hmm. Shaun: It's like a word cloud. Barry: Work cloud? Yeah, work cloud. She I she told me something about that happening. So what happened in this? Jen: Like a word cloud. So it creates that. Yes. So they color code it with dark blue is praise, lighter blue is opportunities, and red is needs worked on. Like I they called it issues. Yes. And that thing lit up red. Yes. And Barry: So it's like you can get like your company culture. Like you just have people give you words that associate like for y'all's department. Shaun: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Jen: Evan got real upset real quick. I mean, staffing issues was one of the biggest thing. ⁓ salary expectations, team, team, like leadership, team dynamics or something like that. yes. Yeah. Like lit up red. I literally looked at Rachel and was like, ⁓ God, that's so much red. so Evan got real upset. I think it Barry: What like what? What w what was the words that were Yo, no, Becca didn't tell me that. Yo Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: Damn bruh. Jen: tanked the mood of the day. And then I went back because I was passing out stickers to everybody at the end before everybody left. And I went back in there to pass out stickers to anybody that was left in there. And it was literally just the four of them. They had the door closed. I walked in and they were clearly in the middle of a conversation. I was like, ⁓ so sorry. Just wanted to give you a sticker bite. Like you could tell they were in a having a moment and they were not happy. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: And I was like, dang, I felt like that was a pretty chill day until the until the end. And it's so funny because I was like, who is? Because it wasn't me. I n Barry: Attitude reflects leadership, bro. Attitude reflects leadership. Shaun: And the funny thing is, I didn't put anything negative in there. And I Yeah, I know that they probably assumed that I was just like lighting it up with stuff, but I didn't put a single negative thing in there. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it was anonymous. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. I'm sure that that is what they assume. Yes. It was all anonymous. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. But as I was reading some of the issue things, I was like, somebody's really going off in here because they were writing like full sentences things. And I was literally just like blah blah like I wasn't actually taking it seriously. Barry: Was it anonymous? 'Cause they now know who put what? ⁓ shit. ⁓ shit, son. Wish I was there, bro. Shaun: Yeah, I don't know. I mean Barry: D Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Wonder who unloaded, bro? I need to ask Becca. Yeah, I wonder if people are really starting to see the shit now, I guess maybe. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah, I don't It was wild. Well, I did have a conversation with Selena. Shaun: Of course. I mean Barry: ⁓ I think sh Becca did say something about that set like like people were complaining about how shit gets rolled out without a plan. Jen: Yes. Sh Selena, I'm so worried for her. Like I really do want to check in on her and just see if there's anything that I can do because that girl looked so tired. You could tell she's burning out. And she just got hit with the ⁓ you're going. We can't give you any details yet, but you're going instead of Shaun. Stay ready. And she you could t I was talking to her about it and her just her whole face, her whole demeanor was like, Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: I mean good, finally, somebody say something, bro. That's fucking horrible, bro. That she's picking up the slack of Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I'm so burnt out, like I'm so tired. Yes. Barry: That's why people leave Bo. Shaun: Well and and I asked her, I was like, so I mean, they're they're jumping, they're dropping all of my shit for the most part on Mandy and Selena. And I asked her, I was like, are they at least taking away your branch visit? And she just looked at me, I was like, that's bullshit. There's no reason for her to spend a week in the fucking branch. No reason at all. Exactly. Yeah. Jen: No. Yeah. No, not when we are so strapped and you're pinning so much on her. But I told her, I was like, listen, do what you're gonna do, but please do not be afraid to say no. Like it's not gonna cost you your job. They cannot do anything about it. They can't afford to lose you. So now is the time. Don't just be a yes man and say no if it gets to that point. Because I can see it in your eyes. You're tired and you're on the verge of burnout. Please do not be scared of saying no. Barry: No. Crazy, bro. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: They can't afford to lose you. Hell no. To speak yep. Yep. For real, bro. Shaun: Can't afford to lose anybody. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: Mm-mm. Goddamn, man. Jen: I'm really worried for her because I think they are just gonna run her into the ground. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Attitude reflects leadership, man. Shaun: And that's what they do. They fucking take advantage of us. And that's the crazy thing about it. Like, he's yeah, he's not taking any extra days in the classroom, like, to take up any of my classes. The only thing that he's doing is he's going one extra week to Oklahoma because I was the only one that was going twice. So now he's gonna end up going twice and they're gonna give the other one to Selena, which is crazy. Jen: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Barry: And yeah, they don't pay us shit. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Barry: So crazy. So crazy. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Yo, if they promote Breda Senior before her, that's gonna like that will be the nail in the coffin. I think they would lose everybody at that point. Like if they did that, bro, I would tell people y'all need to walk out, bro. Like straight up. They can't fire all y'all. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: There's no reason that they should do that. Jen: Insane. There's yes, for sure. Shaun: There needs there needs to be a mass exodus if they did some shit like that. Yeah. Yeah. That's just disrespectful. Yeah. That's why, like, today the the lady finally like emailed me back and she was like, No, I don't know if I even told you all this, but she sent the invite for the exit interview. And no, not Ruby. ⁓ some somebody else, I don't remember her name. Jen: For sure. For sure. Yeah. For real. Yeah. Who did Ruby? Shaun: ⁓ and I emailed her back. I was like, Hey, thank you so much for the invitation. Is an exit review a requirement? And it took her a while to get back to me. She didn't even respond until today. And then she said that no, it's not a requirement, but it gives us the ability to like gather like your like thoughts and concerns and things about that from the department. I messaged her back, I was like, Hey, thank you so much, but if it's not a requirement, I'm gonna forego that opportunity this time. Like it's not it's not worth it to me at this point. So I don't know. Jen: Think I'm yeah. Barry: delightfully declined. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Did she say anything back? Shaun: It's just a nah, she doesn't say anything yet. So I don't know. It's it's pointless. Like there have been so many people that have left the department and voiced their concerns and talked about everything that's going on there and they haven't done shit about it. It just keeps getting worse. So there's no reason to it's like trying to talk to a fucking tromper. Like there's there's nothing that you can say that can get through. Yeah. Yeah, they just do their thing and it is what it is. You just have to deal with it. So Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like it's just not gonna happen. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Barry: They're just locked in. It's just a religion, bro. Shaun: ⁓ no. Barry: That's crazy, bro. Jen: Wild. All right. Shaun: Well What we got. We're good. We can review Bron game. Barry: Weak. Jen: Think so. Barry: Game. See if we can keep it under an hour. Ha ha I'm joking. I doubt it. I doubt it. Shaun: I know we might actually I was like we might actually keep it under an hour this time. ⁓ man. Jen: We might but I still if I'm a betting gal, I'm still gonna say we go over. I'm gonna go twelve minutes thirty two seconds over. Barry: I'm gonna go long. I'm gonna go with the over, bro. I'm gonna go with the over. Shaun: Twelve? Damn. I I'll say I'll say that we'll be within five minutes. Five minutes above or under. I'll say we'll be at least in five. I don't know. We'll see. We'll see how true or how accurate that is. Probably not accurate at all, but we'll find out. Jen: ⁓ okay. Look at you. Okay, I won't find. Barry: Get y'all's ridiculousness out of the way. Jen: But I gotta get it, but I gotta get a girl. The tip of the tongue, the teeth, the lips. The tip of the tongue, the teeth, the lips. Shaun: But again again. But again, but I bet it but it better. ⁓ man. I feel like I need a a verse to start saying for that. Jen: Blah blah blah blah. What do you mean? Shaun: I don't know one, like a like an ⁓ or a Jay Z verse or something or J. Cole verse or something. Barry: Like it's just a tongue twister. Jen: No, you need a bust of rhymes verse just to really get it going. Yeah. Shaun: That's true. Or Twista. Barry: Most ⁓ Shaun: All right. Jen: Ready. Barry: What our what up? So we are Shaun: Mm. Jen: Nine. Shaun: ⁓ thank you for saying that because I'll be like I'm telling you, all this shit starts to run together after a while. ⁓ man. Barry: Make it sure Shaun knows Jen: He said episode Barry: So I said about I mean technically we already are. Jen: Guys, next episode will be in double digits. Shaun: That's That's true. Yeah, from the X like the extra episodes. Jen: We are. Barry: our bonus content. But normal episodes, yes. Official weeklies we will be next week. It's a big celebration. Is that should we announce it? Jen: ⁓ okay, yeah. Those don't count. Shaun: Official weeklies. This will be number nine. Next week will be number ten. Speaking of that, next week is Jen: Yes. Shaun: What's that? Barry: Patreon. Shaun: ⁓ do we want to announce it today? ⁓ that's true. Did we I guess we can talk about that now. Did we ever find out what Ar May needed? Jen: No, we need to have more co yeah, need to have more content to put on there first. Barry: Yeah, okay. ⁓ shit, no. I have not. Jen: ⁓ yeah. Okay. There's always tomorrow. Shaun: No. Okay. So I'll figure that out. Barry: I'll call them on. Shaun: ⁓ I think next week is probably gonna be I I don't think it's fair to say it because I don't know what my schedule's gonna look like right now. But it's probably gonna be the last week that I'll be able to do Monday recordings because I don't know what my schedule's gonna look like once I get to the new place. Barry: Okay. Jen: Okay. This is Barry: Understood. Shaun: So we might need to do like Saturday or Sunday. I know that that might be tight sometimes, but if we can figure it out, then that'll be good. That also didn't show up in the episode. We talked about it, but it we couldn't hear it. Yeah. Gotta change that schedule. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Got them panties on again. No, did not. Jen: Yeah, you bet you couldn't hear anything. Sorry. I know, we really do. Okay, pause. No, stop. Barry: Nine o'clock on the deck. Shaun: Mine used to start at five forty five. Jen: If it starts that early, my kids are gonna be chasing it around and break it or something. Barry: Thing is loud as fuck. Jen: It's emptying its tank. Leave it alone. It's not that loud the whole time. It's just when it before it leaves the dock, it empties itself and then goes. ⁓ no. Shaun: Why? Barry: Shiver wake my kids up. Shaun: Hmm. They sleep like rocks. Barry: Kids sleep like rocks, huh? Shaun: Hmm. Got that rock. Barry: The marker the whole episode, not sure. Shaun: Ready? I didn't know Jen: You're welcome. Shaun: Alright. I gotta find energy right now. No, ⁓ my god, gotta get hype. Jen: I know. I literally I am drinking an energy drink at nine o'clock at night 'cause Barry: Bring it, bro. Wake up. I'm not even drinking tonight. Yeah, I'm tired. Shaun: Fuck, I gotta wake up. Jen: Mm. Shaun: Episode number nine. All right, everybody. Welcome back to episode number nine of Bald Enough to Say It. We're one away from double digits, guys. We are almost there. Right? Rocking and rolling, making it happen. It's been fun. It's been I don't know about y'all, but I've been having a lot of fun with it. Like, it's been really cool. Yeah, right. Jen: Mm. Barry: One away. One away. Jen: We're growing up so fast. Barry: Something like that. Jen: Yeah. Been a great time. Yeah. Barry: Been a good time. Been a good one. Shaun: ⁓ man, if you are coming back with us, welcome back. We've had some koozies and some stickers going out to you, representing. Jen: One of these days there's gonna be something back there. Barry: She's gonna she's gonna photoshop 'em in. She's gonna photoshop 'em in. Shaun: ⁓ so be on the lookout for those that we are pretty close to. You'll be able to get those soon. If we haven't gotten to you quite yet, we probably just haven't seen you yet. So be on the lookout, we'll have that for you too. But as we always like to do, getting started with catching up from the previous week, because we haven't seen each other or really talked very much for the last week. So Jin, what's been going on with you? Barry: Facts. Jen: My goodness, so much. I just feel like the weeks keep getting busier, busier and busier. So many ⁓ things happened throughout the week. And then the weekend, we did take a long weekend, Friday to Monday. We just got back from the Dallas area. So we took a little mini vacay just to see some family friends in Aubrey, Texas. Shout out Aubrey, Texas. but yeah, we did ⁓ We did movies, we did pool literally every single day we were there. We did arcade day. What else did we do? No, we haven't, but it's definitely on the list of things to do. Did you like it? I feel like my kids would love it. Barry: Have y'all ever gone to medieval times? Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: I went when I was a kid. It was like I remember it being dope. I've heard it's not as good anymore, but that's just what I Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: ⁓ Shaun: I feel like everything has kind of lost its luster, I guess, since we were kids. Jen: Sparkle, yes, literally. But maybe that's just the adult perspective. Like maybe they'll still think it has sparkle, you know? It's just like Barry: Yeah. True. ⁓ I think a lot of times it is, yeah. Shaun: Well, everything is so boring now. Like if you think about like McDonald's, like it used to be fun and you had like the play pla the play place. Yeah. But now it's like all gray and boring. Yeah. Like I don't know. Jen: Mm-hmm. The ball pit. Barry: Did yeah the characters, the grimace? Jen: Colours Yes Yes Hamburglar Yes Barry: The what was the name? The hamburger? All of Nostalgia, man. Jen: I do agree. Nineties I feel like was peak k child era, but that's just because that's what I grew up in, so that was a little biased. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: When we were Shaun: Toys R Us. Like we used to go into Walmart. I don't know if y'all did, but we used to go into Walmart and you can just play video games and just like stand there the whole time that your parents were shopping. Yeah. Or listen to music. Like you can just go and like listen to the the samples of the songs and stuff like that. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Stand there and play video games. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. When McDonald's used to have Clip It's, did you guys ever have the Clip It? ⁓ It was the little mini keychain, basically, and you had a little disc and it was like seven seconds of a song. I had the Britney Spears and the N'sync one. Yes. We were ⁓ friends and I were just having a conversation about those the other day. Barry: For sure. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. Yep. Shaun: I never had them, but I remember them. Like seven seconds it was hung or something like that. Yeah. Barry: ⁓ I what you're talking about. Yeah, I do remember those. Living a big Jen: But yeah, I used to get ⁓ at McDonald. Shaun: Mm. I can see were you a Britney Spears fan? I could see you being a Spears fan. Of course, yeah. At all, right? I don't know why. It's just not very shocking. Barry: Live in a big. Hmm. Jen: Yes, absolutely. Barry: Doesn't surprise me one bit. Jen: I feel like you mean this offensively and I'm just not gonna take it in such a way. Barry: No I don't think you're just a you're a person who enjoys pop music and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way. No, I mean Shaun: No. Jen: I am. I enjoy all music. Like there's just not a music out there that I don't enjoy. And I will stand behind that. Shaun: Right. Barry: I mean to to each is own. Shaun: Fair. I mean well because Barry, you don't listen to any kind of country, right? I don't I don't know that I've ever heard you listen to country. ⁓ really? Barry: I can't say the same, but No, not so much. No, bro. I know I know a hand I don't mind it. I just don't know it. I know a handful of that era of country and that's about it. I definitely don't know any of the new stuff. Jen: Nineties Country is his favorite. What are you talking about? It's his absolute favorite. If you ever meet Barry in the wild, please jam out to some nineties country with him. He'll love it. Shaun: ⁓ my god. Okay. That means when we do go karaoke, definitely gonna have some country. Definitely gotta get it going. ⁓ my gosh. Barry: None. Y'all can cue it up, but I'll just listen. Jen: Definitely queue up some country. Barry: But no, not mine. That is that is definitely not one of mine. Jen: That's so funny. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Not your thing. Barry: I feel like Shaun probably even listens to more country than me. Shaun: ⁓ probably. I have a country playlist in my in my like I I truly do listen to everything though. E exactly. Yeah. Barry: ⁓ yeah, that does not exist on my phone. Jen: My playlist would give you whiplash. Like quite literally, we call it musical whiplash. Barry: I could see that too. I mean I have a good wide variety for sure. Like I like a lot of rock stuff. Old school, like classic rock. I like fifties, sixties, like my grandparents like used to ride ride around the caddy in Austin, bro, just jamming out to the I know. All the good No. Yeah. Love that stuff. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Alternative. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun. Shaun: that's not really mine, but yeah. There are some, yeah. But yeah, that's not anything like I don't I don't think that I would just catch myself listening to fifties and sixties while I'm like on a road trip or something like that. Like I don't think I could do it. But if it's just like a random song that plays, cool. I can listen to that. Jen: There's some good classics in there. Yeah. Barry: I know a lot of it. I don't have it on my playlist, but I don't not like Jen: Why not? There's probably some on my playlists. Probably. Shaun: Really. I don't I don't think that I've ever heard it while we were riding together or anything like that. I don't think I've ever heard 50s through 60s or anything. I've never been in the car with Jen before, but yeah. I'm talking about with you, Barry. Like I've never heard it on your any of your playlists. Yeah. Yeah. I would be interested to hear what Jen's is, though. Like a road trip. It really would. It would be crazy. Barry: Yeah, those random duets again happening. Jen: I don't yeah, I was about to say I don't think we've ever ridden in a car together. Barry: No. No, that's why I say it's not my playlist, but I d I love that stuff. I mean it just takes me to ⁓ I believe it's a whiplash. It would be all over the place for Jen. And I don't mean that in like a negative way. Yeah. I could see it all over. I feel like we could probably surprise each other. Jen: feel like we need to take a road trip just so we can hear each other's voiceless. It would be ⁓ I'm musical whiplash. Yes. It would be a great time though. Shaun: Yeah. I think so. I I tell people that at work all the time. Like I tell them, like whenever I'm playing music, I'm like, Yeah, this is gonna be all over the place. So if there's anything you wanna listen to, tell me. I'll play it. I'll throw it into the mix. So yeah. Mhm. Yeah. Man. Well, Jan, we get off topic again. I feel like we do this every week with you. Yeah. Jen: ⁓ for sure. For sure. Mm-hmm. Let me know. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. We do this every time. And see, this is why I said, ⁓ but I was gonna tell you guys, because I am a big ⁓ musicals person, I went to see a musical called Oklahoma. Now listen, I've heard of said musical. I even know some of the songs. Barry: Yeah, fair enough. Yeah. I used to do that too. All over the place, yeah. Facts. Jen: From said musical playlists. but I've never seen the musical. And I, the person that was supposed to go with me wasn't able to go. So I was like, ⁓ I'll just take Kelly with me. ⁓ we can blurt that out. I was gonna take my daughter with me. I was gonna take my daughter with me, and I was like, ⁓ she'll love it. It'll be, you know, fun little mother mother-daughter time while we're there, whatever. I swear when I was walking in, people were giving me weird looks, and I was like, Why are people giving me weird looks? Like, what is happening? Is there something on me? Like, what's happening here? And then we go and we watch this play. Y'all, I had to leave so soon into it. Okay. The third song in it is about this girl who just can't say no to men. And basically she's out here hoeing, but she just can't say no. When they talk pretty to her, she just can't say no. And she's like up there dancing wild. Barry: Is it racist or what? Shaun: Hold up. Okay. Barry: Yeah, I have no frame of reference, so that's a s that no clue. Jen: Yes. So that was the first like I'm just watching Kelly and I was like, I think this is going over her head. So I think it's okay. Like it's fine, whatever. I know, I know. Then like two songs later, the whole female ensemble come out and then they're undressing on stage. Yes, yes, undressing on stage. I thank you. Thank you. Barry: She's just out here. No kids pick up on stuff, bro. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: What? I have never heard this about Oklahoma. Shaun: Where do I get these tickets? I would have gone. Barry: Shaw said he should ask me to go. Jen: So they all undress to their knickers because that's what Sir Because that's what they call them. So, anyways, that was just a weird one. And then like four songs like maybe it wasn't that many, but it was a little bit later after that. So the whole premise is this guy's trying to win over this girl. The girl decides to make him jealous by saying she's going to like the town thing with this other guy. Well, I know. Shaun: Whoa, careful. Barry: Wow, getting close there. Playing games. Playing these emotional games, Jen. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: So the dude goes to talk to this guy at at his house and he's like telling him in a weird way how to hang himself and kill himself. Yes, not joking. Yes. And so I walked out. I we got up and walked out. I was like, we gotta go. We gotta go. No, I will go get the playbill right now. Shaun: Like they always do. Cheese. Barry: What? This sounds crazy. Shaun: Were there no warnings on the tickets or anything? Like Jeez. Right? Barry: Yo, I've never heard anything of that nature about that. I just hear it's like one of the best musicals ever. It's like one that like all these people, that's when the how they get into musicals through this musical. Jen: I know. Thank you. Yes. And I remember when I was in my high school era, at some point one of the local high schools did it. Well, they did it. And so I was like, how in the world did they do it? But I looked it up and apparently there are certain scripts that have been adapted to remove certain dark and crazy ⁓ themes that are in it. So yeah. Barry: That's probably why high schools can't do. How? Shaun: Can't do it anymore. Barry: Like versions? Shaun: Mm. Barry: Wow. But so that's the original theme? Like the one you saw was like the original. Jen: Yes, this is the unedited wildness, that is. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. At the Denton Local Theater. Yes. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I was like, okay, well, we gotta go. So we left. Still haven't seen fully Oklahoma, but just you know, beware for parents. Don't take your young child to see the unedited version. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: You saw this up in Dallas while you're over there? Shaun: Cheese. Hmm. Barry: A whole local theater, okay. Shaun: Yes. Barry: Good to know. I've never I don't think that'll happen, but Shaun: Right. Barry: Unedited. The explicit Oklahoma Shaun: version of Oklahoma, the musical. Jen: It was a time we had to have a conversation on the way home. Barry: Yeah. Shaun: What time did it start? ⁓ I was thinking Well, I was thinking maybe it was even later. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Jen: Like seven thirty. Barry: Hang, that's cr No, but I'm saying for like kids, this sounds like a v I could see like a nine o'clock we like why are you bringing your kid at nine o'clock? Seven thirty, that's a reasonable time to have my kids out. For we go in to see a play or something? Jen: Please start late. ⁓ no. Mm mm. I don't know. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, we're going like, yeah. Anyways. But now I know why they were looking at me crazy because they were like, Does she know what this play is about? And clearly I did not. Clearly I did not. So anyways, that was my weekend. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: To the movies, to a show? I mean, makes sense. Wow. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah, definitely not. Dang. Man. Well, sounds like a fun time. You got some. I feel like y'all have been spending a lot of time in Dallas. I'm not gonna say that I'm getting jealous, but I'm just kind of jealous that y'all are always up there. I what am I supposed to say, Barry? I mean, y'all are just out here living your best lives having fun. ⁓ by the way, Jen, I need to ask you a question because a mutual friend of ours asked about your contact lately. What's going on with your texting? Barry: Y'all have. Shaun's just kinda jealous a lot of times. Jen: I know we have I'm so sorry. ⁓ no. ⁓ I'm so scared. Okay. Barry: Wait, what? Jen: What's wrong with my texting? Shaun: Maybe leaving people on read or not responding. You leave me and Barry on read all the time. All the time. Jen: Leave on read? Barry: All the time, bro. All the time. Jen: No, that's not me leaving you on read. That's me not looking at my phone and you guys blasting it up. Y'all are wild, first of all. I do not. You you're wild. I do have so much going on. And sometimes I just you better cut it out. Barry: She too busy, bro. She too busy for us. Shaun: For two days. You just hate us. I don't understand why you hate us so much. Barry: She just got a lot going on, Shaun. Shaun: That's true. So much going on. Barry: It's too busy for us. Shaun: We're just not good enough. We're not a part of her busy time. Jen: If I didn't love y'all and I didn't care, I would not be here right now. I would not be drinking an energy drink at nine o'clock at night, making it work. Okay? Barry: No, it's all good. She knows we're gonna be here, Shaun. She knows we'll be here. We're unconditional. Friendship. Shaun: That's true. That's true. Hey. That's your is that a bloom? Not a sponsor, by the way. But could be. Could be. I've heard those are really good. Happily, man. Barry: I feel yeah. Jen: It is. Not a sponsor, but could be Bloom. Hop in the DMs. I'd happily sponsor. They're amazing. Barry: Not a sponsor. Can't do energy here this late in the day. Jen: I mean they're like nat natural. Shaun: That's true. Yeah. Barry: Okay. Jen: There's no crazy chemicals in ⁓ Shaun: I had a tea a little bit ago, so I'll probably be up until one or two o'clock in the morning, but that'll be fine. No, Barry, wake up. Wake up by telling us about your week. How was your week? Barry: No. Jen: I won't. I will still fall asleep, but I needed just a little something. Barry: ⁓ crazy bro. I'm ready to go to bed now. What you talking about? No, I'm awake. Jen: No? Nobody else? Barry: ⁓ week was busy. Yes. I don't know this name of the ⁓ she getting a little amped. Talking about she ready to go to bed. now our busy wo or our week was busy. Busy was week. You know what mean? That's what I'm saying, bro. Tired. Cause we ⁓ I Shaun: ⁓ gosh. Rock. I think the caffeine is kicking in. Gosh, Jen. ⁓ my God. We're going off the rails. Man. Jen: Mm-hmm. Wha You're welcome. Shaun: Ar because he was weak. ⁓ Jen: He had a long weekend too. Barry: We did. We went to ⁓ Great Wolf in Houston or Webster, excuse me. ⁓ it was nice, man. I liked it better as a parent because there weren't kids running all over the whole hotel. They confined the Magi quest just to the like the public area. Like or I don't know if they changed that at one yeah. The one in Dallas, kids run all over the place, up the stairwells. Jen: ⁓ yeah, how is the new one? Shaun: Nice. Jen: Park side. Okay. They probably had complaints after the the Dallas one. Shaun: Mm. Jen: Well, yeah. They still do, but they do have quiet time and they turn them off during that quiet time. So you can't play it. Barry: And this was five years ago when we went. So I don't know if it's still the same. Well, yes. Okay. But still, bro. You be just trying to walk down the hall and you got a group group of kids running at you like it's like too much. Yeah. So there yeah, you're just trying to get downstairs, bro, and you got kids trying to get on elevators for these quests. So I did enjoy the setup more. ⁓ the ropes course is inside, which was super enjoyable. Yes. Super enjoy I gotta Jen: That is big facts. And they're right next to the main elevators. So, like you're fighting kids just to get to the elevators. Yeah. Shaun: Cheese. Yeah, it sounds miserable. Jen: Yeah. No, it's a time. So nice. Yeah. Barry: I gotta praise my wife and my youngest. They overcame big fears on the rope course. Like our youngest, she had she about she was like, I can't do this. Like I she got stuck on the little like obstacles. It's it's like girl, you just don't look down, look forward. Like if you look down, that's when the fear sets in. And she but she she stayed longer than I thought. So her, her her and Becca, they and she Shaun: Mm. Hey, shout out. Jen: They did it. Aww yay. That's when it gets ya. Aww. Go, baby girl, go. Shaun: Mm-hmm. That's us. Barry: Becca was like, no, I'll just take a week. I was like, no, y'all. What are y'all talking about? We're here that fun. Me and my oldest were out there just just well, yo, okay. So I do have to shout out them for that too. They were super nice to us. We bought two of the wolf passes for our girls. And we went to do the ropes course first Saturday. And the chick was super nice. Jen: He said, We bought these passes. We're gonna do everything on this pass. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: And she was like, you know, since y'all already paid for these two, I'm just gonna charge y'all for one. So we paid for one person. Then later that day we went to do the bowling. They had like the mini like it was ten pin, but they have the wires and it's just a smaller alley with a small ball. ⁓ they didn't even charge us for it. They were like, Yeah, y'all good, just go take a lane. And then same thing for the putt putt. They like, Nah, you're good. Just get a ball, get a So we did it all. Everything was inside, which was n yeah, it was it was nice. Jen: That's so nice. Shaun: Hey. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. The little ball. Yeah. Shaun: Yes. Jen: I think that's a great Wolf Lodge thing then. Cause even at the one in Dallas, they do that. They don't care. Yeah. Barry: Yo, they wrake in so much money. What does that $10 mean to them? Nothing. They getting you in so many other ways, bo. I was in there for not even an hour and I dropped $200 is right off the right off the rip, bro. ⁓ yeah. Gosh. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Shaun: Well, and they know that you're gonna do that. That's why they're they're willing to give it up because they're like, All right, well, we can give them this ten bucks because that just shows them that we care. We're looking out for them. We're gonna hook them up. Yeah, and they're gonna spend more money. So yeah. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. That's fine. Exactly. And then they want to come back. Barry: Yo, no, it was a good time. It was I mean, they had a really good time. They played together, they completed the Magi quest. They did the whole ceremony Sunday morning. They got little certificates. ⁓ I will give props to the one in Dallas. Their pool is way better. They have a super small pool with the one at Webster. I was really surprised. Because they have the ⁓ no, the wave pool and yo, that That was a whole nother level, bro. The y ⁓ we saw some craziness when we were in the water park. Jen: It's fine. Yay. Aww. That's so fun. ⁓ really? Like the wave pool? ⁓ no. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I'm so scared. Tell us all of it. Barry: So we were waiting in line. Well, so our oldest wanted to do her own thing, so she got in the lazy river. Is there a lazy river at the one in okay. So there was an internal Lazy River. And she went on her own. So me, Becca, and our youngest went to do the big one where it's the it's called the Texas Twister and it's a big tube and you like So we're going up and waiting in line for that. This one family, bro. One girl Jen: Yep. Mm-hmm. And he goes. Mm-hmm. Barry: lost her cookies going up there, like all on the steps. No I I don't know what no, like up chuck. Literally lost her cookies. And the same family when we got up to the top, another one I don't know if it was d the daughter or something. She passed out and had a a seizure, bro. Like and her head hit the ground so we were like five feet away. There was luckily I don't know if dude was the ⁓ EMT or so he like jumped in and at least got her on her side. Jen: Got scared? like literally lost the cookies. Heard, heard. Ugh. Shaun: Mm, mm. ⁓ gosh. Jen: ⁓ my gosh. ⁓ my gosh. Barry: ⁓ and they brought an ambulance and everything. So I don't know what was going on, what they had eaten. I don't know what if it was just the humidity. They were they were like foreign coming to to I would assume. 'Cause like they were trying to talk to one of the family members and they didn't even speak English. So it was super scary and they were like and they two were like the two it was like a young girl and boy that were left there without any family member and they just jumped on the tube and went down and waited. And it was crazy, bro. Shaun: Mm. Jen: Yeah, something had to have been happening there. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Just see the park. Shaun: Mm. Jen: ⁓ And then yeah. ⁓ my gosh. ⁓ ⁓ my gosh, how scary. Mm mm. Barry: So yeah. ⁓ it's that humidity, bro. People ain't even ready for that Texas humidity. And then and inside that thing, it's just like it's like a rainforest, just humidity and heat. No, it was yeah, bro. We went straight outside after we did that. I was like, it's too thick in here, man. Jen: It does get hot up there on those slides though. Bacon. Literally. I was not anticipating that. So I literally felt like I couldn't breathe at first. I was like Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: That's true. Yeah. Mm. Well there's been a lot of rain in East Texas too. So combining that with all the heat that we've been getting and yeah, it's just gonna make it worse. Barry: Mm. Mm. All the humidity and heat. Yeah. So we felt bad for that. That was like it was pretty crazy. But no, it was a good time. ⁓ we got to stay on the first floor, so that was nice. We didn't have to wait for elevators. Just got to walk right in. But my kids pulled a one eighty on me every t other time we've gone and like traveled. They don't want to eat on site. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. So scary. Yeah. ⁓ that's nice. 'Cause those elevators. Barry: I didn't buy the meal plan like y'all, so I didn't save no money. And these kids are just like, nah, we want to stay here and eat. We don't want to leave. But I'm like, Really? I could have saved like thirty, forty dollars at least on if I'd have known I was gonna drop this much on food. So, but the breakfast buffet was definitely dope. The restaurant was There it was fireside, I believe was the Yeah. Yeah. Their drinks were solid. Jen: Wanted to eat everything there. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Shaun: Dang. Jen: Yeah, I I loved the breakfast buffet. ⁓ Really? Fireside. We loved it. Boo. ⁓ no. Shaun: Mm. Barry: I I will okay, I do have one gripe. And I think it was just a shortage of supplies, but even then I was still gonna be disappointed. So we're trying to get the girls all set up and Becca runs to the bar to get us a drink and she like sends me a picture of the the menu. And so I ordered their old fashioned. It was a a white peach old fashioned, which I was like, That sounds really good. It was good. But yo, they sent her with like a tall solo cup. That joint was like Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Ooh, fancy, yeah. Barry: This much for it was like three sips for like fifteen dollars. I was like, That's yes, that is the picture I sent you for. So I was real disappoint. Well, Becca already knew when she got there, sh cause she got a beer and so her whole glass was full. She's like, I felt bad coming, but it's like, Yeah, it's all good. So they had this thing called the Great Wolf Lit. It's like a ⁓ Long Island iced tea. That's pretty solid. Jen: Hey no. Shaun: Is that the picture you sent me? Man. Dang. Jen: He said you just get the fumes. Shaun: Right. Jen: Mm-hmm. That's what she wanted. ⁓ no. Shaun: Yeah. ⁓ no. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: And then they have margaritas on tap and those are pretty good too. ⁓ psh, I ain't driving. Do whatever I want, bro. Have a good time. That's right. ⁓ I love a Long Island, bro. I mean it does depend on who makes it. I will agree, Shaun. For sure. Jen: I don't like to be mixing my liquors like that. He said, Mix it all up. My bop head's right over there. Not really. I'm my I and the sour mix is just like, ugh. For sure. And what kind of sour mix they use to put in there because Shaun: On tap. With a long island? You don't like a long island? ⁓ they're hit or miss. Hmm. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Barry: I don't know. But theirs was theirs was lit. I would give it to ⁓ I could have drank a couple of ⁓ Now they use some nicer liquors. I watched them make make it. I only got one of ⁓ I wasn't like going crazy 'cause they were fifteen dollars a pop. So I wasn't like, Yeah, let's just go crazy. Like, let's get one and then we'll get one later. Shaun: Don't and if you're using well liquor, I don't want it. I I don't Okay. Jen: Yeah, no. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Can you bring your own bottles? Probably you can? At least. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: You can. That was a cool thing too. On Saturday night we actually had Whataburger delivered 'cause we didn't want to eat nothing there. And nobody wanted to go anywhere. Yeah. Yeah. They're pretty chill, man. But again, dude, they're making so much money, bro. Like that's not hurting them. They don't care. Yeah. Shaun: ⁓ yeah. Jen: Yeah, we took ⁓ ultras, Michelob ultras with us to like the pools and stuff. Yeah. ⁓ I really think that's the motto. Like, charge out the wazoo to get them there. And then once they're there, just like please them however you want so they come back. They don't. And like before you leave, they're like, You want to stay one more day for like half the price? ⁓ do. ⁓ Shaun: Mm. That's the move then. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like the Disney experience. Barry: They don't care, bro. They're so cool. Yep. They do. They send you the survey before they send you your final bill. They don't want you to see that bill to after they that you still feeling good, bro. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Tell us everything that went well and then we'll send you the bill. Jen: Mm mm mm mm. All the good things first. So funny. Barry: But no, they ⁓ like I mean it was a good and the girls really were like, I don't wanna go home. So I was like, I mean, they had a good time. Like they were like, I could live here, I'm like, Y'all crazy. They could live here. Jen: Exactly. Yeah. Lincoln already wants to have his birthday there for this year. I was like, what an expensive birthday, bud. I need to stop dropping their names in here. Shaun: Yeah. Nice. Barry: Yeah, for real. But Shaun: Mm-hmm. I mean that's you you're doing it. Yeah. You're forgetting everything that's happening. Jen: Bleep that out. Barry: That's that energy. That's the energy drink. I don't got you thinking clear. But okay, so I did watch a movie. Earlier we were talking about being out in the wilderness. Have y'all seen Send Help? Jen: Ooh. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: No, but I've heard of it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. It's the she's trapped on an island with Dylan, whatever his name is. Shaun: I don't think so. Barry: Rachel McAdams, isn't that her name? Bro, it was I enjoyed it. It was good. Yeah, with the yeah. Yeah, he's like the young new CEO of her company. Shaun: Which one is she? Wait, have I seen that? Wait, I think I have seen it actually. I need to hold on, I gotta look it up because I think I have seen it. Barry: It's good. I enjoyed it. Jen: I've seen previews, but I haven't seen it. Barry: It's it's a new one. I think maybe twenty twenty five at the end is when it came out. Or was it this year maybe even? Yeah, it might have been earlier this year. But it's a good I'd definitely recommend you give it some time. I enjoyed watching it. It was a good good plot twist. Jen: ⁓ it yeah. Just recently. I think it was this year. Yeah. Shaun: No, I haven't seen this one. I saw the one with ⁓ what's his name? Channing Tatum? Yeah. Blink Twice, yeah. I saw that one. Yeah. Dang. Okay, so send help. I need to watch it. Jen: Tatum. Barry: ⁓ that one is blinked twice, bro. That one was crazy. Me and Becca watched that one. That one was nuts. But I watched Send Help. So that's why w earlier we were talking about like being stuck in the wilderness or something. That's why I said that. Like Jen: Mm. ⁓ let's know what. Shaun: Mm. Hm. Is it is it worthy of a watch? Barry: I think so, I enjoy it. Shaun: Because you told me to watch one movie and I watched it and Dog. I was that I feel like that is a a movie that definitely needs like ethanol involved whenever you're watching it. Because like I'm talking like I'm talking like Everclear type of drink. Man, like I was like it it was a good movie. Like I understand the Barry: You didn't like it, Bo? No? Yeah. Jen: And he did not like it. ⁓ okay. Okay. Barry: He'd be huffin' gas, bro. Jeez. Jen: Yeah. Whew He said he wants you drunk off the waft, the scent. Barry: I enjoy those kind of movies, man. Shaun: The like mirror pointed back at America and things like that, like aspect of it that you were talking about. But I was like, This is Yeah. I was like, I don't know what's happening right now. Jen: Mm. Barry: ⁓ it's off the wall. It's off the wall. No, see I don't know. I'd be I'd be into them movies. Jen: Too much. Too wild. Shaun: And I didn't know Becca didn't watch it. I was trying to sell Becca about it. She's like, I didn't watch that ⁓ Yeah, she's like, I ain't watching that stuff. ⁓ man. Barry: No. Jen: She said, Keep that nonsense out away from me, thank you. Barry: Yeah, I do be watching some some other stuff sometimes, so ⁓ well. Yeah. But yeah, that was really it. Okay. I'm always down, let me know. Yeah. Well ha Shaun, how did your Arborist visit go? Did he come out? Jen: I've got some new documentaries we have to watch. We'll talk about it later. Shaun: Ooh, okay. Exactly. All right. We'll talk about that later then. Jen: ⁓ yeah. Shaun: ⁓ so that happened. Yeah, he did come out. He came out, ⁓ he checked it out. Everything so I asked him about like anything with the the area where the tree is. He was like, It's very unlikely that there's anything going on with your actual like yard or anything within the ground that's causing like any kind of disease. He was like, It was probably just the winner got to it and it never came back when it went dormant. And I was like, Yeah, I mean, I get it, but the one in the back is doing perfectly fine. Barry: Ground. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Jen: Mm. Great. Shaun: Yeah, so he went and he looked at that one. He was like, Yeah, everything looks good. Just make sure that you give it fertilization and water it and stuff. But the one up front Yeah, well I mean yeah, well yeah, that one is doing good. He will take off. He will absolutely take off. He'll poop on a leash. But I don't think he'll poop in my yard though. Like he won't poop in my yard on a leash. He's gonna poop when we on a walk. Yeah. Barry: Giving it that fertilizer, bro. I told you. Ace is helping you out, man. Need to start walking ⁓ in the front yard, bro. Start walking ⁓ in the front yard. See what happens. No, boot him on a he won't poop on a leash. She's one of them dogs, like, you can't touch me, will he? Mm-hmm. Jen: So you better go get your little pooper scooper and then dump it. Barry: Mm. He's like, this is my house. I keep my stuff clean, bro. Can't be having him out here in the front like that. Right? Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Exactly. Exactly. You know he's a prima donna dude. He's so ridiculous. Dramatic is Jen: What do you think these paws do? Barry: He is kinda he's a little dramatic. Jen: Y'all better leave Ace alone. Mm mm. Barry: He's a little dramatic. I've seen ace be dramatic. Shaun: very much. I guarantee you if I went and opened that door right now, he's gonna run in here and act like he hasn't seen me in a week. Exactly. Yeah. But yeah, so that happened. I need to call the nursery and find out about getting the tree delivered earlier, now that he's come out and he's confirmed that it is D E A D and it's not gonna be coming back. I don't know why I spelled it. But it's not gonna be coming back, so they can come and Barry: ⁓ he's gonna be right. All up in it. Jen: Mm-hmm. What are you doing? I missed you so much. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Shaun: Take that one out and plant the new one. I've already picked out the new one. It's already tagged and ready to go. It's just a matter of getting it delivered now and planted. So we'll be doing that. ⁓ Other than that, man, my week was pretty chill. A bunch of I watched a couple movies. I watched that movie that we were just talking about a little bit ago. Don't recommend it for anybody to watch it, but if you want to, go for it. I don't even remember what it's called. It was goodbye. Barry: Y'all, if you like something that's a little different, Shaun, just don't ⁓ get help, have fun, don't die. Jen: Ha ha ha Shaun: Yeah, good luck, have fun, don't die. ⁓ if you want to watch it, watch it. I'll just tell you that you might you might need some some alcohol involved. Yeah. Just wait if you want to. Yeah, keep enough in mind if you watch it. Also watched the new Mortal Kombat. That one was really good. It was good. I mean, it wasn't great. It wasn't anything like groundbreaking or anything, but there were some nice visuals in it. Yeah. Jen: So if you have time to waste. Barry: I enjoyed it. Just keep an open mind. That's all. ⁓ how is that? I've wanted to check that one out. Hm. I again I don't ever really put that on most movies, so Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: It has some really cool visualizations. Like if you've played the game and you look at the fatalities and like all of those different things, like there were some cool ones in there. And that's really what you watch Mortal Kombat for. So I wasn't either really. Like Barry: I was never good at Mortal Kombat, bro. I was the Tekken dude. Give me some Tekken, bro. Give me Eddie Goro on some Tekken, I'll tear you up, bro. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Really? See, wasn't that good at tacking either. I couldn't really do it. Now you're talking about blitz? I'll pick you apart in Blitz. I am confident. I w I wish we could, dude. I wish we still had Blitz. Jen: Ha ha ha. Barry: Bro, I used to tear up that game. ⁓ I used to tear up blitz too. Shaun, you just real confident on a lot of things. I like it again. I didn't even know that was that the that was the Dreamcast, right? They don't even make them no more. ⁓ did you? That was a good one. Jen: ⁓ I know. We got another one this episode. Shaun: No, I played it on N sixty four. Yeah. Yes. That was one of the best. Jen: Nintendo sixty four. It's the like the only one I ever owned as a kid. Yeah. Shaun: Really? ⁓ man. I had most of ⁓ I'll say that that was something that what was that supposed to mean? Barry: Yeah. Jen: I'm sure. Barry: Spoiled brat. Jen: No, you're a gamer. Shaun: Definitely not spoiled. ⁓ see, and I don't even know that I can call myself a gamer, but yeah, I did have them all. Yeah, I mean I've got a Nintendo Switch, I've got the NES, I've got the Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox 360. Exactly. Disposable income is really strong. I don't know about that. Don't have disposable income. Yeah. Disposable income does not exist in this household. Exactly. Barry: You're more of a gamer than me, Shaun. Jen: Mm. If you have more than one gaming console, you're a gamer. Yeah. Exactly. Barry: He's he's a single man. He's got disposable income, bro. Jen: He said, I don't know how disposable. Barry: You got reusable income. Can't just throw it away. You can invest in yourself. There you go. Jen: Okay. Shaun: I can invest in my own self since I don't have I don't have a drain on me. Like I can invest in myself. Nothing. Speaking of drains, I'm not talking about your babies. Your babies are amazing. Kids are incredibly expensive. Yes. They're lying. Exactly. Yeah. Jen: There you go. Treat yourself. What? ⁓ heard. Heard. Don't be talking about my babies like that now. They are. And anybody that tells you any differently, they're lying to you. Barry: He said a drain. He's saying kids are drains and he ain't wrong. Kids are expensive. He's right. No. Keep it real, Shaun. Kids are expensive. For anybody who's thinking about kids, kids are expensive. They are lying. They do drain your money. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: For sure. Yep. Shaun: All of it. Most of it. ⁓ God. As much as they possibly can, they will take it. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: A lot of it. Most of it. All of it. Jen: Yes. Ha all of the above. I'm Barry: Every all of that. And then so and then some. Jen: Yeah. Barry: But it's all worth it. Jen: Hundred percent. Barry: It is. Shaun: If they turn out well, then it's all worth it. If they turn out exactly that's what I'm saying. Like it's an eighteen year gamble that you're making. Like you don't know if you're doing it right until they become an adult and then you're like, All right, are they a good person or not? That's what I'm saying. Are they going to be a good person? Barry: I mean, we'll w we've been on that for a long time, bro Jen: yeah. That is true. You hope for the best. Literally the scariest. Same. Keeps me up at night. Yes. Barry: It's the scariest gamble you can ever do. For somebody like me who does not like the gamble Shaun, it is the scariest gambling you will ever do, sir. So much. Yes. Jen: You question it well, I question everything. Like I hope that was. Shaun: Like Sincere's dad. I mean you never know until you see him out there in the wild and then he's acting crazy. Barry: Shaun, you d I don't think we ever told the the listeners what your feedback on that was and who actually was right. Jen: I don't think we did tell the listeners. Shaun: ⁓ good point. Yeah. So I unfortunately, and I do say unfortunately very strongly, I do unfortunately agree with Barry again on this one. Yeah. I I I think the way that his dad responded was was fine. I I don't think that there was anything wrong with it. I think the sincere needed to hear it. I think that he needed to have someone kind of point the mirror at him to see like what he was doing was wrong. Yeah. Jen: Go ahead, Shaun. Barry: Yet again Yet again Jen: ⁓ mm. Mm. ⁓ Barry: He needed it. That's at that age, man. You're in your mid twenties, that's when you are making huge mistakes, and that's when you do need somebody to hold it to you. Jen: For sure. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. So I think it worked out. Jen: For sure. And can I can I reiterate that I did not say Sincere didn't need somebody to check him? I very much agree he needed somebody to check him. My personal opinion was just the way that he went about it was a little bit much. No, no, no. Barry: No, I know. Shaun: ⁓ yes. Barry: But you said he did it too harsh. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: He didn't hold his hand and cuddle him while he told him he was wrong. Shaun: He didn't tell him he loved him enough. Barry: I love you and I'm proud of you, but you messed up. No, bro, you messed up. You messed up. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah, he did mess up. Shaun: I think that's the harsh reality. Like y'all know how I always say, like, things are like you should already know it. Like it's automatic. Like he should automatically know his dad loves him. But I'm gonna tell you all of these things that you have been doing while you've been here have been messed up. Yeah. Barry: Understood. That's if his dad was in his life. And I don't know that. I don't know that. ⁓ I did not know that either. So if they have a relationship that's like that, I mean that makes me feel even better. Like that that stepdad feels confident and and can comfortable enough with him to say those things to him. I feel like that's a solid relationship. Cause Sincere didn't get upset by it. Did he? Jen: But did we also know that that's apparently his stepdad? That's not his real dad. I did not know that. I did not know that. Shaun: I I heard that. I heard that that's apparently a step bed. Yeah. Jen: Mm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: One can hope. Shaun: ⁓ I think that deep I think inside he knew that he was right. Like he knew that everything that he was hearing was right. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: So again, the man did exactly what he needed to in the moment. Jen: ⁓ a hundred percent. At that point in the thing, for sure. I really do think the movie night thing shifted his perspective. And I think from that point on, he really did know that he messed up. And so I think at that point when his stepdad did get there and kind of went off, he was like, I expected this because yes. You know. But Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Kudos to that man. Jen: Yeah, yeah, yeah. The guys agree. Moving on. Let's never let it happen again. Shaun: But no, yeah. I I think that the way that he took that he went about it, I think it was fine. Like I don't think that he needed to tell him that he loves him any more than that or to like coddle him. I I think that he got what he needed. You didn't use the word coddle, but Barry: Ha Yo Jen: I didn't I don't say coddle. Y'all are mm mm. Barry: Sometimes we need tough love. Sometimes we need tough love. But when you gotta hear that you're proud and I love you, and when you mess, I don't know. I just and I'm the nicer one. Becca be going like she holds the girls accountable way better than I do. Like I laugh way too much. And I would still talk to my daughters like that if they were messing up. Because they and they know, like to Shaun's ⁓ they know that I love them. Jen: Going in. Shaun: Ha ha ha. Jen: Mm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: And that in anything that I say to them, it's coming from a place of love. But sometimes when you messed up, I'm not gonna tell you that I'm proud of you or I love you in that moment. Afterwards, once we fix the figure out how you're gonna fix it, I will remind you that, but no, it ain't gonna be led that way. That's just yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: That's fair. Jen: That's fair. Shaun: Well well now that Jen's upset. yeah. Yeah, I definitely did agree on that one. ⁓ how did we get here? Where where did we leave? I I don't right. Yeah, I don't know. But yeah, that was basic ⁓ that was not my whole week. ⁓ I also more house drama that happened. ⁓ the toilet in my primary bathroom is jacked up. Don't know what happened there. Jen: I'm not upset. I don't know. Our train derails so many times. Barry: I don't know. You know, we be bobbing and weaving, bro. Bobbin and weaving. ⁓ my goodness. Jen: ⁓ no. Shaun: ⁓ so that's something else that I've been working on, trying to figure that out. Luckily I do have an extra bathroom in the house, so ⁓ like that's all good. But probably gonna be calling the plumber soon. So talking about that disposal income, that's gone. Who knows how much that yeah, who knows? I know, but I don't know if the toilet needs to be replaced. I don't know if it's the toilet or if there's something going on with the pipe or something like that. Jen: ⁓ no. Yeah, thank goodness. Yep, you ain't got no more of that. Barry: Yeah, we can replace your toilet for two hundred dollars, fool. Jen: Or if it's like a plumbing plumbing issue. Barry: I bet you that's a cheaper option than having your plumber come out and tell you something different. Jen: What have you tried? What's wrong with it and what have you tried? Shaun: Well, if I replace the toilet and then there's still something else. So what's wrong with it is that it's not flushing properly. ⁓ like whenever you push the Jen: Okay. Barry: Well, that could just be the flopper though, bro. Jen: Yeah, that could be loop no? Shaun: It's not. I've of course I've opened that. Like I opened that, I checked it out, the chain is good, the flapper's good, like all of that is okay. ⁓ I haven't replaced it yet because Barry: But have you replaced it? I would replace it bro. Like you think it looks good? I've had it so many times where I go get a new one and it works just like if it has any kind of imperfection on that rubber seal, it won't work properly. It could like literally be that simple. I promise you, bro. Try that. It's like twenty, thirty dollars. Yeah, for sure. Shaun: Maybe that is it. I'll j I'll try that. Yeah, I'll try that out. But yeah, I've used a couple of different drain cleaners. Of course, I've tried plunging it. I've tried doing all kinds of things, but it just doesn't flush like whenever you push it down, like it doesn't flush. So I'll see what's happening there. Yeah. I'll try that out then. We'll see what that looks like. Jen: Try that before you do a plumber. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Barry: Nah, it's crazy how all that stuff has to work perfectly for it to work properly. It's insane. Yeah, I would definitely replace because if you have you've lived in the house, what, a couple years now? Bro, products nowadays don't last, bro. They don't care about cloud quality no more. It's that it's that capital greed, bro. They just w trying to get you to buy stuff over and over and over. So the quality's going down, man. I'm telling you, bro. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm. Shaun: It's two it's been two years. There shouldn't be problems with it already. Jen: Yeah, not the long. Mm. Say it louder for the people in the back. Shaun: Well and that's one of the things Exactly. Well, and that's one of the things that I think that's happening is that the water in this area because there's so much clay around this area, like it's super hard water. So I don't know if that's causing part of it, but I don't know. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: ⁓ if you o yeah, bro. Mm-hmm. So hard. Jen: It's hard. Mm. ⁓ Barry: No, but even if it's not I don't know. Yeah, I would definitely start with the flapper bro, and that whole Shaun: Yeah. I'll check that out. No, which I've thought about getting one. They're so expensive. And I'm like, is it worth it if I'm only gonna be here for a few years? Yeah. Jen: Do you have a water softener? Barry: Hmm. They are well. Jen: They are so expensive, but in Texas I feel like you need it. Barry: Especially in s this part of Texas, bro, with all the limestone we have in our water. Yeah. I know. I know, bro. But that's it it will get it some I was gonna say it will get you money back when people buy it. Especially if you keep up with it and it's working. It's a draw. It's a draw in this area for people. Like they will pick your house over others if you have that and they don't. Jen: You need it. Mm-hmm. Shaun: I just don't wanna if I'm gonna sell this house in a couple of years. But that's true. Jen: I know, I know. But it's a good investment. Like that will turn your profit. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Because Yeah. I don't know. We'll check it out. I might do that. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. I might be doing that then. Jen: Yeah, for sure. Barry: I I wouldn't put money on that. But yeah, if you need help, bro, let me know. You know me. ⁓ that water's clean. Shaun: I will. We can dig our hands in my toilet and see what's going on with it. Yeah. Yeah. So we'll check that out and see what's going on. But yeah, that was the the other part of my weekend. Everything else pretty chill. Just a lot of hanging out, doing stuff around the house and relaxing. Just trying to relax as much as possible. This week is a stressful week for me, so I'm just trying to make it as easy as I possibly can. So I'm great. As far as like Jen: Hey Barry: Mm. Jen: Well. Barry: You doing all right? Jen: I hear ya. Shaun: how I feel about it, I'm good. It's just like all of the crap that I have to do first. ⁓ that's the big part. ⁓ dude. Jen: Your menti's good. Barry: No, I was talking about with your boy Bron going to Philly, not Miami. You doing okay. Shaun: Yes. Okay, here's here's the here's the thing. Jen: Yeah. Barry: That didn't s that sound like you were always convincing yourself of that word. Shaun: Dog. Okay, so here's the thing. Love Bron. Best, best, best basketball player to ever touch a basketball in lace up sneakers. LeBron James. However, I'm not gonna say but I'll make a tuxedo. However, yeah, Eastern Conference Bron is different. Jen: That yeah, right? He said, ⁓ I gotta say it. Barry: ⁓ I hear a but coming. I hear a but coming. Jin, here's the but. Here it comes. ⁓ he th he threw it in with the however though. Jen: Mm. He's putting but with the bow tie. Barry: Tying it up fancy. Shaun: He changes the entire conference when he is in the Eastern Conference. So that has me worried. I'm still confident that Miami's going to do great, like it's going to be a really good season. But he just turns into a different player when he's in the Eastern Conference. So although I am glad that he made a decision, I'm not glad that he came back to the East and he's not in Miami. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: ⁓ that was g I knew he was probably coming back here if he wasn't going to the Warriors, bro. Unfortunately. Shaun: Yeah. So and I knew I knew he wasn't gonna go to the Warriors. I thought for sure it was probably gonna be Cleveland, but it makes more sense to go to Philly if you want to ring. So Yeah, I get it. But yeah, I'm worried. Let's call it that. Yeah. They've got a they've got a heck of a squad. Barry: Best chance he's got. Jen: Just 'cause of the team setup or what? Why do you think it's the best? Barry: They have a lot of talent. Okay. Jen: Hmm. ⁓ isn't that where your boy went? Aww. Barry: It is. This is all probably because of Brad Stevens is what they're saying. Cause they said what I've read or heard is Bron wasn't even considering Philly until J B ended up there. Shaun: That is where J B went. Really? Mm. Jen: Mm. So he tryin'. Barry: So it's it's it's ⁓ it's the same division, bro. It's gonna be crazy. The only thing, and I've said this to a couple people and I've read a couple people say the same thing, there's only one basketball, bro. And this this team reminds me a lot of the twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen Celtics when they had Kyrie, Hayward, Horford, JT, JB, Terry Rosier, Mart like they had so much talent. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Nick Nurse is gonna have the toughest coaching job. He's gonna have so much pressure because there's so much expectation for this team to win the East already. Like you look at them on paper, they should. I I wanna say and I didn't look it up, so I can't quote, but I wanna say between just Bron, JB, Embiid ⁓ who are Maxi and Edgecombe, last season they combined for a hundred and forty percent. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Barry: Of usage over that season. Shaun: I don't think that's a problem. The reason the reason why I don't think it's a problem is because Bron and Embiid don't need to shoot. They don't need to shoot to be out there and make a difference and make an impact. I think the two people that you really have to feed to keep them happy are JB number one, because he will cry like a little baby if he doesn't get the ball and doesn't get to shoot. He will cry like a little baby on his twitch. Barry: They don't need to. I agree with you. I agree. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I mean that's a bit extreme. A big a bit extreme. I still have respect for that man, so let's No. I agree. That's but yo, Edgecombe, you think Edgecombe's gonna he's gonna take a step back, I feel. Like he's gonna regress. I think to your point, I think we are texting about it. He's gonna get a chance to learn a lot, but his opportunity is his ball touching opportunities are gonna take a hit. Shaun: But also Maxie. I think you have to also feed Maxie because with JB coming in, Jen: He said, So watch a tone. Shaun: I feel like he'll take a step back. Yeah. I don't know that they will though. I think that he won't be Barry: I I think so, bro. He was at nineteen I know he was at nineteen percent usage rate last year when it was Maxie and him and Paul J well, Paul George wasn't there a lot of the season, but I just feel like there's only one ball. J B was like thirty five percent usage rates. And again, it's gonna take it it it is, but he wants that. That's what he wants. To his detriment it might be. That's what I'm saying. I and but I know he knows how to do it 'cause he did it when they had Shaun: But Paul George, yeah. That was without JT though. Yeah. Barry: their team in ⁓ twenty-four when they had all those dudes. So I know he can. And it might if yo, if they can figure it out, if Nick Nurse can figure it out and give definitive roles to all these guys and they accept said roles, and that's from the top to the bottom. Their one area that they still have to sure up is their their big man rotation. They need another big the what's his name? Rona, that dude was Shaun: I think that's what having a player like Bron does though. I feel like having him helps out. Mm-hmm. Big. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: He just got exposed he w against the Celtics and th they weren't really that strong as a big team either. So until ⁓ Embiid came back, they were already exposed and so he's their little only big backup. 'Cause Dean Wade isn't gonna go in there and bang with nobody, bro. He's a six nine shooter and listed as a power forward. So if they can figure it out, they are going to be really scary and could be a really, really good team. I will like I will say that for sure. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: To me it's just a lot like the twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen. I don't it's a lot to have that much ego and that much talent on the team and be able to make all those pieces fit. 'Cause I know like talent is you want as much as you can, but you also gotta have the right pieces to have a championship contending team. And they got really great pieces, but can you make them fit together? That's that's why I say I there's gonna be a lot of pressure on Nick Nurse to make that work. Shaun: Well, and I think that you can. I think the benefit that they have over like the twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen Celtic Celtics team that you're talking about is maturity. They've got maturity, they've got exposure, they've got championships on their team. Barry: You're not wrong. They do. Kyrie was super young and trying to f like make his name big in the NBA on his own. JTJB. Mm-hmm. He had just left. Yep. F with LeBron. Yeah, he was trying to do that. Hayward was coming back from that nasty ankle injury, trying to prove himself being worthy. There were a lot of egos and it it was definitely a big disappointment, bro. Because I was so confident in that team. I was like, bro, they're gonna run through the East, and Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Cause he just came away from coming off of that championship. So now he's gotta get out there and prove it that he's the man. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And ⁓ Barry: I went back and looked, bro. They were a 59-win team and they were fourth in the East that year, and they should have dominated with all that talent. But again, they did not have defined roles, and nobody was willing to pick team success over individual success. And I do agree with you. I think Embiid is old enough and mature enough now. And I definitely think Bron is. And he knows what it takes. He's done it, what, four times? So he knows what it takes. And I will give the man that. Shaun: Not at all. Mm-hmm. Jen: Compromise. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: ⁓ J B is gonna be interesting. Him and Maxie and Edgecombe. And bro, even their bench, they got ⁓ Anfernee Simons and ⁓ they saying KCP's gonna go there after buyout in Memphis. So they I mean, on paper, bro, they the East Dean Wade is in the back of like you got eight strong rotation. Yeah, eight strong players and then but again, they just need a big, they gotta find a big. I don't know who or how, but Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah, he got signed. You mentioned Dean Wade. Yeah. You've got a deep rotation, yeah. Barry: 'Cause you aren't gonna be able to depend on Embiid for the whole season. And Rona is he's just not a starting level big yet. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: When you say big, do you literally mean physically large? Okay. Heard. Barry: A big man. Like seven feet tall man. Like that's like six, ten, seven foot like that's what I mean by a big. They they don't have that. 'Cause even Shaun: Like a big man. Yeah. A center. Yeah. Like a true dedicated center. Yeah. Someone who can roam the paint, get rebounds. Jen: Just to compete with other people's big men or like what is the strategy? Yeah. Yeah. Barry: I mean really to compete with Wembanyama, honestly, from San Antonio and Chet from yeah, Chet ish kind of yeah, he's a little But no, more of Wembanyama You c you have big Shaun: Yeah. Chets weak. I don't I don't even think you really have to worry about him. He is. I mean, yeah, more Wimby than anything. Yeah. Which the Spurs team, they're they're still deep. They're probably gonna be Yeah. Yeah. So I don't know. I think this is gonna be a really great season. Yeah. I think Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: So they picked up Tobias Harris. They only got better, bro. Yeah. It'll I'm excited for the NBA this year, bro. Like I am so excited. Cause I still feel the Celtics are gonna be competitive, bro. And I feel the Heat are gonna be competitive. Like it's gonna be such a fun season. Yes, I would agree. So much movement, so much just ⁓ man, it's gonna be so fun to watch. But yeah, I was shocked with Sixers and Bron, bro. I was Jen: I've heard lots of good rumblings about Shaun: Yeah. This is gonna be one of the best seasons we've seen in a while, honestly. Yeah. The team that I am Yeah. Jen: You and the world. Mm-hmm. Barry: I thought that was the last place he would end up. Shaun: That's also like I mean, of cour it it sounds so good. Like if you want to make a run for a couple more rings, that's where you go. Like that is the best fit of where you go. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. The the team that I feel bad for or like kind of sorry for is Portland. Just cause that new ownership that they're under, like he is just ripping that organization apart. So I feel bad for Dame and Ja and like they've got a pretty Barry: That's it. That you have the talent right away. Now you just gotta make it work. Really, truthfully. Yeah. Mm Jrue still there, bro? Jrue Holiday, man. Yeah, they they nah, I d I don't know. And that they got that new guy, I can never remember his name. Hmm. He did do a good job stepping in last minute, bro. Yeah. Nah, I agree, man. Yeah, I'm excited. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah, they've got a fun squad, but like I don't think they're gonna be able to do anything. So Yeah, like they let Tiago Splitter go, like after he did a really good job of coaching the team. Yeah. So I don't know. I I think this is gonna be a really fun season. A lot of good basketball on in both conferences. Freaking Minnesota is gonna be a blast to watch. So that's that's gonna be a good time. Barry: Yep. Yeah. And I mean, there still could be some movement. I feel like A D's maybe the one last big piece that could move, but I don't know if he will. I've seen silly stuff about Steph leaving the Warriors. Mm-hmm. I've heard. I mean, if he wants to try and get one, it ain't happening there now. It is not. Because they didn't they've literally made zero moves, bro. They have made no trades, they didn't do anything. Shaun: Yeah. Well and a lot of people are saying Yeah, not signing his extension. Which makes sense because Mm-mm. Nothing did nothing happen. Mm. The Lakers did everything and the Warriors did nothing. Yeah. Barry: So yo, they did a lot. They did too much, I think, but we'll find out. They did a lot. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: They did like eight or nine different signings, which is wild. Jen: What do you think the strategy is behind that then? Like of not making any moves? Shaun: Just trying to figure it out. Just yeah. Barry: I just trying to get new pieces and like I said, just fit ⁓ together and see how they work. I think, yeah. Shaun: Yeah. If you've got Luka, you have to do something to please him. Yeah. Cause he he has proven that he can't stay s stay very healthy for consecutive seasons. So you gotta try and figure it out while you've got him. Yeah, this is probably I think this is probably JJ's last season if he doesn't pull something off. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, 'cause his window's only getting shorter. Jen: To make it work. Barry: Mm mm. Not for longs, yeah, I gonna say. Yeah. You gotta have some talent around him. Yeah. Jen: Utilize him while he's there. Barry: If they don't do something like Western Conference Finals or something, like far deep run into the playoffs. That wouldn't surprise me, bro. You don't got time in LA. ⁓ okay. You don't got time with the Lakers. You got to like if you're the Clippers, nobody's really Yeah. You got whatever. Ty Lue you good, bro. You got you good. Shaun: Mm-hmm. I think he's probably done after this one. Mm mm. Clippers, you gotta you got forever with the Clippers. Yeah. You Gucci. They'll just pay you with trees. ⁓ Barry: Speaking of, do you Get paid under the table, but speaking of, do you think that that trade's gonna go through? You think Kawhi's gonna get stuck back in the in L L in LA land, Clipper L? They're not finalizing it till it's resolved. It's mm-hmm. It's been almost a whole month now, man. That was like the beginning of July when they announced it. It might not happen, bro. Shaun: Yeah. What Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I I don't know. I d I don't know how that's all gonna play out. Yeah. And it's been a while that it's been up in the air now. So I don't know. We'll have to see. Yeah. Yeah. It it may not. And I I don't I don't know that that would be the worst thing for for the Clippers, but ⁓ I mean, I think it is kind of bad for Toronto. Cause how do you bring them back? Yeah. Mm-hmm. He's a very in my feelings kind of player. We've well, we've seen that in the past when he was in LA and and New Orleans, like he gets very much in his feelings. So I don't know. I don't know how that would play out. Barry: I mean, either team. You think this is bad for Toronto? I mean I think that would be tough to bring Brandon Ingram back 'cause he's gonna feel slighted as you know what. Mm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: If it's like, hey, you're gone, then all of a sudden you're forced to come back. The league said you can't, so you gotta come back. Barry: Could be interesting. Never mind. Sorry. But I mean, I don't know. I get it. Right? I get it. I feel like your ego ain't gonna let that especially these these type of competitive dudes. But it's Kawhi, bro. Like are you really gonna be that upset? You got traded for Kawhi, Like that's a sign of respect. Like, but I don't know. Jen: If he could perform under that, yeah. Just kidding. Hmm. Shaun: ⁓ no. Yeah. It's gonna be fun. That's true, yeah. I mean he's Mr. Toronto. Outside of LeBron, he's Mr. Toronto. 'Cause LeBron owns Toronto every time he plays him. Barry: Hm, he does. That is that is true. He does own them. But Shaun: Yeah. But I think the Christmas Day will be really fun. Have you seen that people are calling it like the civil rights game? With the the Lakers and the Sixers. Because okay, so Jen, you I know that you don't really keep up with basketball very much, but the Lakers basically have an all white squad now. So like basically all white dudes, which is very rare. Jen: What? Barry: The Lakers, then the Sixers, yeah. Jen: Mm mm. Okay, you're educating me. ⁓ Barry: Which is crazy for the Lakers. Jen: Okay. Yeah. Shaun: And professional sports, specifically the NBA, extremely rare that you ever see that. And then Philly basically has an all black starting lineup for the most Yeah. So Dean Wade, yeah. Yeah. So we'll see how that game goes. I think that's gonna be a really fun one. Which is Barry: And mm mm. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. ⁓ so we really okay. Barry: Think they only have one white dude on the team, Dean Wade. I don't really think that might be the only Caucasian on the team, y'all. So. Jen: Yikes. Okay. Barry: Were they saying that or either them in Boston, Philly in Boston? I've heard those two. Jen: It'll be something. Shaun: Yeah. I think Philly in Boston though, like I don't know if you can do the same conference on Christmas Day, like or the same division. Not same conference, but same division. Really? ⁓ well, that'll be fun then. I think that'll want to be good. Yeah. I think they're both good stories. Yeah. Barry: No, they've played on Christmas Day before. Mm-hmm. I wouldn't mind either one, honestly. I'm just excited, bro. I really am. Like again, I'm going into this season kinda same way I went in with the Celtics Cli I think they're gonna be competitive. I don't have high hopes, so it's just fun watching them go out and play. I hope J T just comes out and balls out. Mm. I hope these young guys can continue to get better. I know you don't wanna hear that, but I hope they do. Shaun: Yeah. I mean, I don't really care. You can hope all you want, it's not gonna happen. Barry: What do you mean they did it last year? Shaun: Yeah, but I don't know. This the full season back from the injury, I whatever. We'll see. We'll see how he holds up. I I hope. I hope the best for him. I'd never want anyone to ever get injured. I never want anyone to have to deal with any kind of lingering issues from a big injury like that. But I think how quickly he came back is concerning for the long run. Barry: Think he's gonna be all right. Shaun: I I hope so. I hope he is. I hope he's fine. Hey. Miami, I'm super excited about that. I'm excited to see what Giannis does in Miami. I don't know. We need a shooter. If if Steph decides that he does want to leave Golden State, I mean come to South Beach. Why not go from one beach to the other? I mean just change coasts. Jen: We gon' be alright. We gon' Barry: Okay, who else y'all gonna get though, bro? Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Mm. I don't think that's Steph's style. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Why not though? Barry: Mm. He's a family man. Jen: One can dream. Shaun: Hey, you're telling me Aisha wouldn't want to go to freaking Miami? Barry: I don't know, I it's just I don't know. I don't think they would uproot their kids. Shaun: ⁓ I think she would. I don't know. I think that he I think he also only has a couple of years left. And he I don't yeah, like I don't know that he would wanna like to your point, I don't know that he would want to uproot everything for a couple more seasons. Yeah. I mean he he is Mr. Golden State. Barry: ⁓ yeah, he's definitely down to three max, maybe two. Jen: Yeah. Barry: That's what I'm saying. I think he takes whatever extension they're gonna offer him. They'll give him a max ex max extension. I don't think he goes anywhere, bro. Shaun: I don't think he takes a max extension though. If if he wants to be competitive, I don't think he takes a max extension. I don't know. They're gonna have to figure something out though because they don't have they don't have anything right now. Barry: You don't? Who are they gonna get? It don't matter. Take that bag, bro. There's no options. No, there's no options on the table either. Shaun: Unless they can figure out a way to get K D back. If Houston will let go. I mean, maybe that'll give them a shot, but I don't know. Honestly, I wouldn't mind having Clay out of Dallas. ⁓ I I think there's really no point in having him in Dallas because he didn't perform for them at all. So bring him to Miami. Just spot him up in the corner, let him shoot. Like Ray Allen did. I'm cool with that. Barry: That ain't gonna happen. No, that ain't No. Not the way you should. Shaun: Need another shooter. That is high hopes. I don't know. Stop bringing me down, Barry. I don't like it. Barry: High hopes. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Reality check, bro. Jen: Let him live in his fantasy, okay? Shaun: That's true. Exactly. Just the same way that you live in your fantasy of the Celtics, being healthy and being competitive and good. So I don't know. They're not. Jen: Yeah. Barry: ⁓ I don't think they're gonna compete this year. I don't. I think they'll be competitive. I mean the East got really good. So I mean but people gotta stay healthy, bro. So I don't ever c count anybody out. Even your heat. I don't count them out. Yeah, take it though take it that way too, because that's exactly how I meant it. It's exactly how I've been it. Shaun: Mm-hmm. It's gonna be fun. Yeah. I don't like the way you said that. So let's swagly. ⁓ we'll see what happens when we play. But speaking of playing, let's play a game. Let's play a little game. It's almost back to school time. Tax-free weekend is coming up in a couple of weeks. So y'all are both parents. You've got kids. How about? Jen: Yeah. He said they are at the bottom of the list, but Barry: That's right. Jen: Wild. Remember how we were talking about kids take all your money and they're expensive and don't let people lie to you? This is one of those moments. Barry: Never ends, bro. Shaun: But this this doesn't have anything to do with money though. So it's okay. What we're gonna play is are you smarter than a fifth grader? So I've got I've got some categories. Barry: Never ends. Hmm. Jen: I it's questionable. Barry: Baden things you'd think you would know, but you don't. Jen: I know I know. Shaun: Yeah. I mean y'all get to choose what it is that you wanna do. I'm gonna let you choose what topic you want. I've got questions. So I will just ask you the questions. You jot it down and you let us know what they are. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: ⁓ we can't prove whether we're smarter than Shaun 'cause he's gonna be giving us the test. Jen: Okay. I know. Shaun: I mean, we already know that you're not smarter than me. That's neither here nor there though. Barry: Shaun, come on bro. I literally proved you wrong on that last episode. Jen: Mm mm. You better get out of here. Shaun: Prove me wrong, how? That's not proving me wrong. That's just proven that you suck up and you talk to people and get to know people more than I do. Barry: Friend Quiz Okay. Let's let's go ahead and get that one out of the way. ⁓ Jen: if that's a bad thing. How dare you build relationships with people, Barry? Right? How dare you be a kind person and take interest in other people? Sit down. Shaun: That is a bad thing. Exactly. Forget building relationships. Barry: Sorry that I remember things about y'all, right? Exactly. Sorry that I'm a good friend to you two. Shaun: He should apologize for that. Who's sentimental? Who remembers relationships and remembers intimate details about people, dude? Barry: I do, Shaun. I do. Try and show my children what a good person looks like. So I didn't say that. That sounds like you're thinking that about yourself. I was literally talking about me doing what I d I can't control you, Shaun. I'm not taking shots at you. I'm holding myself accountable. You are. I would agree with that statement. No disagreements. Jen: Ha ha There you go. Shaun: ⁓ so you're saying I'm not a good person? I mean, I feel like that's what you're kind of alluding to. Whatever, dude. I am a great person. Whatever. Jen: You are a great person, Shaun. He said, and moving on, I'm not upset at all. Shaun: ⁓ gosh. We'll just we'll keep it we'll keep it simple. We'll do what five questions? Let's do five questions and see how many you all can get. I'll let you choose the topic. So whatever topic you want. I've got history and geography. I've got math. I've got why are y'all shaking your heads already? ⁓ animals and nature and science or space and science. Jen: Hmm. Okay. Barry: Do math. Jen: Yeah, Barry's gonna pick math every time. Barry: We can go back and forth, you can pick first, Jen. Jen: Do the categories remain through the whole thing? Or they go away? So like after I pick a math, it goes, yeah. Shaun: What mean? ⁓ you can choose. Yeah, you can pick whatever care category you want. Like you don't have to just choose one. Barry: C she's saying can we pick multiple? Yeah. No, he can look yeah, we don't have to do all in the same category. Jen: Okay. Okay, let's do science. Barry: Science. Shaun: Science. Let me Jen: I'm gonna need you to sing the theme song in. Shaun: I'm just gonna create like a little tally of the voice here. Barry: Jen, go ahead and put your phone so where we can see it so you are not texting your husband. Shaun: Yeah, how c how can you all like carry your phone? Don't put it up there, Jen. What if you like show people something on your phone? Goodness gracious. And then Barry does the exact same thing. What are y'all doing? Your calorie truck. All right, so we're starting with science. All right. ⁓ I'm only gonna give you all five seconds to answer. That way you that way that way you don't have the chance to like search or do anything like that. No. Jen: You've got my calorie tracker. Barry: Mine's black. I'm not sure you know, but it's Jen: Put it this way. So you can't see it? Yeah. Barry: I don't know. Five? That seems real quick, bro. Jen: That's too much pressure. Ugh. Five? At least ten. ⁓ my gosh. I'd like to speak to HR. This hostile work environment. Shaun: I am asking you I'm giving you five seconds to jot it down. We are HR. Question number one. What is the longest bone in the human body? Five, four, three, two, one. Show ⁓ Jen: Okay. Hmm. Barry: I probably misspelled that. The femur. Jen: This is wrong. ⁓ wait. Barry: The femur. Shaun: Okay, she did put femur. All right. You both get that right. What? Jen: Okay. Okay, but are we doing it like we're answering the questions like we're both answering them? ⁓ okay. Okay. Shaun: Yeah, y'all are both answering them. Yeah. So one point each, you both got that correct. ⁓ Barry, what are we going to next? Barry: Yeah. ⁓ let's go math. Jen: I knew he was gonna do it. Gonna embarrass me on the internet. Shaun: Math for math. Barry: You gonna have to give us longer than five seconds for math, bro, if it's an equation. Jen: Two plus two. Yes. Shaun: ⁓ no, I'm not giving you longer than five seconds. Jen: That's so that's so much pressure. Barry: Bro, if it's like an expression, what are you talking about? It's gonna take longer than five seconds to resolve an expression. ⁓ my gosh. This guy, just a little bit of power going to his head. Golly. Shaun: I am the judge, jury, and executioner. You get five seconds. You get five seconds. It's not they're they're not gonna take longer than that. For math, what is the square root of sixty-four? Five, four, three, two, one. Show ⁓ Jen: ⁓ my gosh. And we Mm. Mm-hmm. Now we know. Now we know, Barry. Barry: Okay. I got it. Jen: I don't know, I went that fast. Barry: Eight Shaun: ⁓ I th I feel like Jen cheated on that one. All right. Jen: No. I'm not even gonna show my board for what I was gonna put. The world will never know. Good job, Barry. So proud of you. Shaun: ⁓ well Barry you got that correct. It is eight. That is right. Barry: Sure did. Shaun: Proud of you. Where's you next, Jen? Barry: Yeah, near ⁓ Jen: ⁓ history. That was one, right? Shaun: History. ⁓ geography and history. Yeah. All right. So history and geography. Barry: Aye, ⁓ this one's probably Jen will probably get it. I don't really I'm not good at this one. Jen: Okay. Well, if it's geography, I'm gonna suck. I'm terrible at geography. Barry: Yew, good pick, Jen. Shaun: No, it's not. In what country are the pyramids of Giza located? Five, four, three, two, Egypt. See you can write that fast. That is correct. Both of you get that. Barry: ⁓ my god. Jen: ⁓ I can't even rate that fast. Barry: Egypt. Golly, there's so much pressure. I know, right? We're just like scribbling. Jen: You can't even read it. Like, my marker can't even keep up. It's like fading as the letters go. Shaun: ⁓ it's more fun for me this way. basically. Where are we going next, Barry? ⁓ you've got animals in nature, ⁓ space and science, math, history and geography. Animals in nature. animals in nature. Jen: He said this is purely for my enjoyment is what I hear. Barry: It's like rapid fire, bro. Golly. What were the other choices? Jen: ⁓ Barry: Let's do animals in nature. Jen: Okay. Shaun: Wait, what? This one's fun. Cause I don't even know how to pronounce it. What is the name of a baby horse? Five, four, three, two, one. Dang. Good job. Yes, that is correct. I had no idea how to pronounce that, so y'all are good with that one. Barry: He only knows the question. Jen: Okay. Barry: I got it a Foal. Jen: ⁓ Foal. Barry: I mean there's technically a lot of answers to that, but I d when you said what you said I knew that's what you meant. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Wow, so I gave it away. Dang it. All right. My bad. All right, Jen. Right? Jen: Mm-hmm. Well, we appreciate the hints with our five seconds. ⁓ have we we've hit every category, right? Why is there no like language arts or reading categories? Barry: That's all good. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah, y'all have done at least one from each one. ⁓ I mean there are some of the like if you wanna do Barry: 'Cause the arts are dead and nobody cares. Jen: They're never dead. You can't learn any of the others if you don't know how to read. Shaun: Gosh, dude. I mean if you Barry: I'm joking. I completely am joking. I feel like kids should all have the opportunity to express themselves. In whatever arts. Clip it. Shaun: That's true. All right. Jen: Clock it. Shaun: Clip it. Clip it. ⁓ gosh. All right, where to? Jen: ⁓ yeah, clip it. I forgot that's ours. Shaun: I feel like you want history and world geography or history and geography. Jen: Sure. Okay. That's exactly what I want. Barry: He just thinks this is the one we're not gonna know the most in. Shaun: No, it's really not. I think that y'all do know all of these. I don't think that any of these are extremely difficult. What is the capital of Canada? Five, four, three, two, one. Jen: As we get it wrong. ⁓ wait. I knew it was something A. I started to write Augusta because I was like, it's something with an A. Barry: Alberta. Shaun: Jen, what do you have? Barry: Angst. It's Alberta, right? What is it? Ottawa? Shaun: Both of you are wrong. It's Ottawa. Ottawa is the capital of Canada. O T T A W A. Jen: O T T okay okay. Dang I really had an A on the brain, I don't know. Barry: ⁓ a Mm. Shaun: I mean there are two A's in it. Jen: Yeah. Barry: Crazy. Shaun: Something like that. All right, Burr. Barry: Mm, animals and science. Shaun: Animals and science. ⁓ animals and science. What type of animal is a frog? Five, four, three. I'll give you a couple seconds because that's a long word to spell. Amphian. Amphian. Well, she has amphian. I know what you mean though. Yes, you are correct. It is an amphibian. Jen: I can't That's not how you spell it, but it's an amphibian. Yeah. Barry: Amphibian Amphibian I got amphibian, what you talk about? ⁓ I was like I got it bro, I know how to spell that. Jen: I can't write this word that fast. I'm just going with the letters I have. Shaun: ⁓ gosh. Alright, I think we can fit a couple more in. Jen, where to next? Hey. Barry: That's what she's said. Jen: We're going ⁓ science. The other science one. Shaun: Science ⁓ Jen: Anything to avoid math. Shaun: Science What is the largest planet in our solar system? Five, four, three, two, one. See? Y'all are smart. Y'all are smarter than a fifth grader. Jen: Well, easy. Okay. Jupiter. Boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider. Did you guys ever sing that as a kid? No? ⁓ okay. Well. Barry: Jupiter. Shaun: ⁓ no, because we are boys and we are not stupid, so exactly. Barry: No. I would never say that. ⁓ let's go back to math. Shaun: Let's go back to math. I think Jen hates you for the math. Jen: He hates me. He does. Barry: I I mean I'm just a well rounded individual, I get it all. Jen: And it's a well round individual. Barry: So that's what we're reverting to? Mocking people, Jen? Okay. This is what I've created. Shaun: Okay. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. This is what you've brought me to. Shaun: I don't know. For math, what is the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of five and a width of three? Five, four, three, two, one. Barry: Sixteen. Shaun: I was like, Jen, what is that? Yes. ⁓ gosh, yes, that is correct. Hey, I feel you. I feel you on that. You are absolutely correct. All right, Jen. Jen: like we link the five and with the three. Sometimes you have to visualize, okay? ⁓ I are we got what haven't we done in a minute? ⁓ history. Shaun: History. What is the largest country by land mass? Five, four, three, two, one? Show it. Barry: Antarctica Antarctica. Jen: ⁓ that's a Shaun: First of all, neither one of y'all wrote a country. Jin wrote Yeah, Jin wrote Asia. I said country. Barry: No, that's ⁓ you said country? I was thinking continent too. ⁓ I said Antarctica. Jen: I literally went to show my board and I was like, that is a continent. Shaun: That's right. She's like shows Asia, like nope. That's not right. ⁓ my gosh. Barry: Well damn. That's what I thought too. I was there with you, Jen. ⁓ largest country ⁓ I mean, I don't know. Jen: So I'm gonna say China. I mean our time's up because he only gave us five seconds. China. Or Russia. No, it's Russia. It's Russia. We're goofy. It's Russia. Shaun: That's true. What would y'all say though? Now that you know that it's country and not it's Russia. Yes, it is Russia. Barry: I would say China if I knew it was country. Hm. Okay, well, we didn't get the point, so Shaun: Didn't get that one. ⁓ well. All right, we'll do two more. Barry? Barry: Let's go back to math. Shaun: Let's go back to math. Jen: He just wants to win. That's so rude of you. Barry: I'm gonna test Jen's math skills. Shaun: What is the sum of the angles in a triangle? Five, four, three, two, one. Barry: Hundred and eighty degrees. ⁓ Shaun: That is correct, Jin. What is yours? Is yours blank, Jin? Okay. Jen: It definitely is blank. It sure is. I didn't even my brain could not even process the question that you just asked. I was like, the sum of what? Shaun: ⁓ god. It's always one hundred eighty. Yeah, a triangle always adds up to one eighty. Jen: Heard. Now we know. Shaun: All right. So where are we going, Jen? Jen: Science. Shaun: Science and science. How many bones are there in the human body? Five, four, three, two, one, two fifteen, one fifty eight. Both of you are wrong. Barry was closer though. It's two hundred and six. That is how many? Jen: I aunt. Barry: ⁓ my gosh. Jen: ⁓ I don't know. Barry: Two hundred and fifteen. Jen: That is just a random number. Mm. Barry: Dang it. ⁓ that's close. I was gonna say two ⁓ five at first, but I was like, I feel like it's more. Jen: Yikes. Shaun: Just for fun, I mean Barry won, unfortunately, because I'm tired of Barry winning because he I'm so tired of your crap, dude. But another question what is the center of an atom called? Jen: You were so close. And you remind. Barry: Y'all, y'all, what do we We know. We know. Jen: Get out of here. Mm mm. A nucleus? Barry: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yes. What is the powerhouse or powerhouse of the cell? Yeah, I don't know. Why did they teach us that so much? Like I felt like that we heard that everywhere. What's the chemical formula for table salt? Jen: Mitochondria. I don't know. Ooh. Shaun: You know it. Yep. N A C L. What's the chemical symbol for gold? Barry: NaCl Jen: Okay. Barry: G. Shaun: Mm. I feel like a lot of people get this one in silver mixed up. Jen: Because it's Shaun: They're very similar. Barry: I'm not a chemical guy. Shaun: it's AU. That's the chemical symbol for gold. Silver is A G. So that's why I feel like a lot of people get those mixed up. See, y'all are smart. What's the hardest substance or na hardest natural substance on earth? Jen: You're gonna say it and I'm gonna be like, Ugh. Hm. Makes sense. Barry: Diamonds. Jen: Diamonds. Shaun: Yep. Y'all are smart. See, I got smart friends. I surround myself with smart people because I'm not the smartest myself. Asia. Antarctica. Barry: Something like that. Jen: I don't know. Some of those questions I was like, Jen, yikes. I swear I know the difference between a country and a continent is all I'm gonna say. I knew the answer once you gave us more than five seconds to answer it. The five seconds was too much pressure. My brain turns off in that. No. Barry: Some of those questions. Now about Shaun: It's okay, I mean not everyone does. Barry: Yeah. Yeah, that was a lot of pressure, Shaun. Shaun: There has to be some kind of pressure. These are fifth grade level questions that we're asking here. Barry: Okay, we're gonna ask you next time, just on your own. See how you do. Jen: It worked. Yeah. Shaun: Ask away. I'm here for it. Whatever you got. I'm down. Ask me tenth grade. No, I'm just joking. Don't do that. Don't do that at all. ⁓ man. Well, everyone Yeah, very much so. Barry: Don't do that, bro. We aren't that smart. Jen: Yeah. We you have average intelligent friends. High five. Barry: No, I wouldn't disagree with that. I do think we have above average intelligence. Shaun: We have a very smart group. I would say that. I think that our group could get out of any situation that we were in if we needed like intelligence for it. Jen: Maybe. We do. Barry: I would agree. Jen: ⁓ for sure. Barry: If we ever got stranded on a desert island, I think we'd be okay. Jen: We got it. We'd be fine. Shaun: Why don't we we need to do a escape room? Like get the crew together and do an escape room. I think that'd be fun. Yeah. Add it to the list. ⁓ yeah. We do. Barry: Yeah. I'm down for that. Jen: ⁓ that would be fun. Add that to our to our list. We really do. We need to plan at least one, guys. Yeah. We just need to plan at least one. Pedicures first, because I really need one. Barry: Yeah, we got a lot of ideas to execute, y'all. We just keep building that list. That list keeps growing. Shaun: Yeah. Plan it out and get it going. This ⁓ hmm, yeah. I'm just gonna leave that alone. Barry: Shaun wants to see Cheeks. That's gonna have to happen soon. The summer's almost over, y'all. Shaun: That's true. Summer is almost over, so we gotta do cheeks too. How about we do cheeks and then do pedicures after that? Because you don't want to get a pedicure and then go to see cheeks. So we can just do it the other way around. Jen: we might have to do cheeks first. Barry: True. Cause you're gonna chip that pedicure all up on the rocks, bro. You're gonna jack your feet right back up. Jen: True, true. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. That's true. Down for the get down. Let's go. Shaun: Exactly. So we can just go see some cheeks and then we can do pedicures. Yeah. It all works out. All right, we'll plan it out. We'll get it all worked out. Barry: Maybe need to happen this weekend 'cause I feel like the next couple weekends I'm not available. This weekend? When do you leave? Jen: Cannot I'm in Atlanta. Yes. Shaun: God, are you back ⁓ now you're in Atlanta? My God, Jan. Jen: Sunday. Barry: We can go Saturday. Shaun: Are you gone all week? Jen: Okay. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Okay. Barry: Like what is happening? Shaun: She's not gonna go. ⁓ from that, okay, she's not gone. Jen: Yeah. No, no we can go. For real. No. I just in my brain I was like, I can't, I'm leaving this weekend. But then I was like, ⁓ wait, it is it is Sunday. Shaun: But Barry: So I was like, I don't feel like you're gonna be gone that long. Shaun: Mm. Jen: Sunday to Saturday. Barry: Ew. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Good for you. Shaun: Always gone, on the road, doing something. In the air. I'm just saying. Must be nice to have a very eventful and very travelly life, I guess. Jen: Y'all are goofy. Mm, I don't know. It gets really tiring. I'm very tired. Barry: It's the big difference between taking your family somewhere, Shaun, and just going somewhere. Jen: Ye very different. Very different. Mm-hmm. Mm. Mm mm. Especially about the five times Shaun: Yeah, I wouldn't know that. Barry: I I mean so there we're gonna educate you. It ain't it ain't all s it ain't all butterflies and rainbows, bro. I slept the worst I've slept in I mean I'm a bad sleeper anyways and it was not good sleeping at hotels, bro. Shaun: ⁓ whatever dude. Jen: In the hotel. Yeah. Same Z. Shaun: See, I feel like I get some of my best sleeping hotels. Yeah. Hmm. Barry: No. I want my bed. Jen: Same. I literally carry, I am like a child. I have a pillow from home and a blanket from home that has to come with me or I will not sleep. Barry: Mm. Becca brings a pillow. Shaun: Mm mm. I can't travel with extra stuff like that unless I absolutely have to. Because then I have to take it out, I have to put it back in and do all the other stuff is too much. Barry: Yeah. Jen: I have to. Barry: I don't sleep well. Jen: Mm-hmm. I will save space in my suitcase to make sure it happens. Barry: Yeah, crazy. Shaun: ⁓ see my suit my suitcase won't even fit my pillows. I would have to have its own suitcase for my pillows if I wanted to take them. Jen: We gonna make it work. I'd do it. Shaun: Not worth it. All right.
