Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: There was something in me start well.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I had to start this episode playing that song from
- 0:11Speaker 2: Abba Fernando because Lutermanello Heismandoza shows up again. And I
- 0:19Speaker 2: think I saw the stat by the way, happy New Year,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and I'm glad that'd be back in the new year
- 0:24Speaker 2: with me here. I saw the sad he was seventeen
- 0:29Speaker 2: for twenty or something. I mean, that's just unheard of
- 0:32Speaker 2: for most quarterbacks.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Alex he threw more touchdown passes than in completions. The
- 0:39Speaker 1: kid is the real deal, obviously has He's played a
- 0:43Speaker 1: lot of college games, has the experience. It looks like
- 0:46Speaker 1: he can make every throw. He's the leader. He is
- 0:52Speaker 1: in total control, even postgame press conferences when he came
- 0:56Speaker 1: right off the field. The kids in total total control.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's an amazing situation with Indiana, I mean, the second
- 1:05Speaker 1: losing his program in the history of college football. And yes,
- 1:11Speaker 1: they've been helped out by the new wave of college
- 1:15Speaker 1: free agency a lot. They've like every other school, they
- 1:20Speaker 1: have coached players from other teams, mostly from the group
- 1:26Speaker 1: of the Group of five, which next year will be
- 1:29Speaker 1: a group of six with the Pac twelve coming back.
- 1:32Speaker 1: That has that's going to separate the the power for
- 1:36Speaker 1: from the group of five. But Indiana is remarkable. They
- 1:40Speaker 1: have they have the best offensive line, or as good
- 1:43Speaker 1: as an offensive line they have in football. They have
- 1:45Speaker 1: great receivers, and they have a great leader. Again, it
- 1:51Speaker 1: looks like the Jets are just going to miss out
- 1:53Speaker 1: with the number two pick because he is gonna be
- 1:58Speaker 1: a tremendous NFL player. I think he's the best NFL
- 2:01Speaker 1: quarterback prospect since Joe Burrow. I really do. That's how
- 2:05Speaker 1: good I think Mendoza is.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I would say full transparency. When I was talking about
- 2:10Speaker 2: Jeremiah Love, if possible, you know Heisman, You're like, no,
- 2:13Speaker 2: I think it's Mendoza. I was trying to put all
- 2:15Speaker 2: together because look, it's Indiana. You don't you don't see
- 2:19Speaker 2: them in the headlines every day. Yet this kid's got.
- 2:21Speaker 1: The not for football, for basketball, yes, but not for football.
- 2:25Speaker 2: And the point is, I think they still stayed a
- 2:27Speaker 2: bit underrated the whole year because Indiana. It just you
- 2:31Speaker 2: wouldn't expect it.
- 2:32Speaker 1: You know, You're correct, they were undervalued, underrated the whole
- 2:38Speaker 1: year because Indiana football has no history.
- 2:42Speaker 2: And him and here in the Northeast, who do we
- 2:45Speaker 2: care more about in the Big ten. Well, Rutgers is
- 2:48Speaker 2: sort of a non factor. I hate to say that,
- 2:50Speaker 2: but but Penn State's disaster actually really took over the
- 2:54Speaker 2: whole Northeast conversation because their goodness, they were in they
- 2:58Speaker 2: were in the playoffs last year. Then they get that
- 3:00Speaker 2: downfall and frankly gets fired. I thought, we care more
- 3:03Speaker 2: about that than anything else in this part of the country.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You know, Coach Trinetti has done a spectacular drop. He's
- 3:11Speaker 1: a great football coach, and he had the right guy
- 3:15Speaker 1: at quarterback. Like I said, their offensive line is outstanding,
- 3:19Speaker 1: their receivers are outstanding, their defense is outstanding. They are
- 3:22Speaker 1: the best team in college football. They go into next
- 3:25Speaker 1: Monday Night's game as a seven and a half point
- 3:26Speaker 1: favored over the University of Miami, who I think is
- 3:29Speaker 1: an outstanding football team and I think has a chance
- 3:32Speaker 1: to win. This is not going to be a miracle
- 3:34Speaker 1: that they don't win. One of the reasons why Indiana
- 3:39Speaker 1: destroyed an outstanding Oregon team last night was because they
- 3:45Speaker 1: won the turnover battle. They got the pick six right away,
- 3:49Speaker 1: and then Oregon fumbled a couple of times inside the ten.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Then they got the block phunt. So if Miami avoids
- 3:59Speaker 1: those type of mistakes, even though they're a little bit
- 4:02Speaker 1: beat up in the secondary, and that's gonna be key
- 4:05Speaker 1: to see how their secondary is health wise for the
- 4:09Speaker 1: game a week from monday. I mean, this Indiana ride
- 4:14Speaker 1: is absolutely and you know, the two teams.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Then I said this off line too, these are the
- 4:20Speaker 2: two teams that deserve it. I mean, Miami knocked off
- 4:24Speaker 2: the defending champion last week. I mean it was pretty
- 4:27Speaker 2: amazing to watch, and then of course this week they
- 4:30Speaker 2: do their thing again and uh, you know, now they're
- 4:33Speaker 2: under the their home turf, their home turf to play Indiana.
- 4:40Speaker 2: So I think overall, these two are the teams that
- 4:43Speaker 2: most deserve it. I don't know, I've never felt that
- 4:45Speaker 2: way about any other playoffs.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Well, agree with you. I agree with you, Alex. They
- 4:51Speaker 1: do deserve Both teams deserve to be there, and I
- 4:53Speaker 1: think we're gonna see quite a football game. I know
- 4:56Speaker 1: Indiana gave Alabama as first loss ever postse and they
- 5:01Speaker 1: did the same thing last night. I think. I mean,
- 5:05Speaker 1: if Miami can win a time of possession and if
- 5:09Speaker 1: they could avoid turnovers, I think I think they have
- 5:13Speaker 1: a they have a chance. But if you're and you know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: we all make a lot of predictions on this team,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but Indiana about eleven thirty on or eleven o'clock on
- 5:23Speaker 1: Monday nine to nineteenth probably will be a national champion
- 5:27Speaker 1: which is absolutely remarkable, And it will cap a two
- 5:32Speaker 1: year turnaround, even with paying players and the transfer portal.
- 5:37Speaker 1: This two year turnaround for a dead football program to
- 5:41Speaker 1: national championship is remarkable. The thing to the National Championship
- 5:45Speaker 1: game is remarkable. Well, let me let me let me
- 5:48Speaker 1: say this. I mean, I think.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure there's videos of like an empty stadium
- 5:53Speaker 2: or something like that for Indiana football. Well, that stadiums
- 5:56Speaker 2: would be filled up forever. Now, I mean, this guy's
- 5:58Speaker 2: turning them and dozes turn around.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yep.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And I remember well watching some clips of how Signette
- 6:06Speaker 2: said this was basically a project.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Right, he's gonna he if this was.
- 6:09Speaker 2: A whole project for him to turn the program around.
- 6:11Speaker 2: And he's really done an incredible job. And I think
- 6:16Speaker 2: it's funny because when you think of Indiana, of course
- 6:18Speaker 2: I think of South Bend, Indiana, and I'm like, well,
- 6:19Speaker 2: not this year. But I will tell you this is
- 6:23Speaker 2: the second year in a row someone from Indiana is
- 6:24Speaker 2: going to be in the national tournament, which I find
- 6:27Speaker 2: pretty cool. It just happened to be Indiana University this year.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Well, the other thing is, Alex. Everybody always talks about
- 6:33Speaker 1: how great the Southeast Conference is, and yes, historically, over
- 6:36Speaker 1: the last twenty years, there's no doubt about it, it's
- 6:39Speaker 1: been the best conference. But the best conference this year
- 6:42Speaker 1: and last year is the SEC. And if Indiana, if
- 6:47Speaker 1: Indiana wins, will be the third straight era a different
- 6:51Speaker 1: Big Ten team wins the national championship. So you got
- 6:56Speaker 1: you have to say that the SEC, especially at the
- 7:00Speaker 1: top end, is as the Big Ten, is as good
- 7:04Speaker 1: as the ACC. Excuse me, the Big Ten is as
- 7:08Speaker 1: good as the SEC.
- 7:10Speaker 2: That's oh man, yeah, they're right there.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Now.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I want to talk about Carson Beck real quick, because
- 7:16Speaker 2: this kid I followed him in the Georgia days. I mean,
- 7:19Speaker 2: he was just really good in Georgia. But what a
- 7:22Speaker 2: resurgence for him this year. And Miami did make a
- 7:27Speaker 2: splash by being Notre Dame, and then they too sort
- 7:29Speaker 2: of did their own thing and nobody really noticed. You know,
- 7:31Speaker 2: it's just like all right, they're they're they're winning week
- 7:34Speaker 2: to week, but of course they make the playoffs and
- 7:38Speaker 2: now they look show why they did it. But Carson
- 7:41Speaker 2: beck Man, I love watching him at Georgia. I'm sure
- 7:44Speaker 2: you remember the Georgia days with him.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Of course I like him, I always have.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I think he has and he's twenty three and he's
- 7:51Speaker 2: doing it, so that's pretty cool for a college kid.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Well this he's had seven years of eligibility or some
- 7:57Speaker 1: ridiculous total. But again, I like Carson beck I think
- 8:02Speaker 1: he has a chance to be some level of an
- 8:05Speaker 1: NFL quarterback. I think he's the type of guy that
- 8:10Speaker 1: you would draft in maybe the third or fourth round
- 8:12Speaker 1: and could develop. He made some nice NFL level throws
- 8:20Speaker 1: down the stretch. Both of that Instant Classic on Thursday
- 8:25Speaker 1: Night between Miami and Old Miss, Miami was the better team.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Even though it came down to the wire. Miami was
- 8:32Speaker 1: was was the better team on Thursday Night. I like.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I like Carson Beck I do. I don't like him
- 8:40Speaker 1: as much as Mendoza. Again, I wish the Green and
- 8:46Speaker 1: White had a chance to draft Mendoza, but they had
- 8:48Speaker 1: to win three games when they really who gets a
- 8:50Speaker 1: crap if they had won three to one or two.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So I would be shocked if the Raiders some people
- 8:57Speaker 1: say that Dante more is, you know, as far the
- 9:02Speaker 1: measurables is the number one, But no way, I mean
- 9:06Speaker 1: he's still I mean he's not a play as Greg
- 9:08Speaker 1: McElroy said post game, he's not a play and plug guy.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Even if the Jets had drafted Mendoza, I would have
- 9:14Speaker 1: made him a play and plug guy. You got, you
- 9:17Speaker 1: gotta these guys watch the game a little bit. I
- 9:21Speaker 1: mean even Joe Namath didn't start his first game.
- 9:24Speaker 2: So now these kids get drafted, they look on the
- 9:30Speaker 2: sideline and you know, they're on the sideline watching the
- 9:33Speaker 2: other guys out there.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So I'm looking forward to the game next week. Miami's physical,
- 9:41Speaker 1: But you know, Alex, if you're gonna press me to
- 9:43Speaker 1: make a prediction, I'm I'm picking Indiana, you know, so
- 9:53Speaker 1: you know we'll uh, you know, I think Indiana. They
- 9:57Speaker 1: said on the telecast that Indiana only had like eight
- 10:01Speaker 1: four or five star recruits. Oregon had fifty five, Miami
- 10:07Speaker 1: and Olmus had about forty. Just supposed to show you
- 10:10Speaker 1: all about coaching chemistry and how Indiana executes. That's that's
- 10:17Speaker 1: due to their brilliant coach and coaching staff. So looking
- 10:24Speaker 1: forward to a game, on Monday, nineteen nineteenth. Should be fun,
- 10:29Speaker 1: absolutely all right.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I want to talk about the Raiders real fast, because
- 10:32Speaker 2: we talked about this before, but maybe the people didn't
- 10:34Speaker 2: catch it last time. Tom Brady needs to leave the
- 10:36Speaker 2: broadcast with if he's gonna have hands on control.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Right one correct, he can't. If he's going to be
- 10:45Speaker 1: the guy pulling the strings in football operations for the
- 10:50Speaker 1: Las Vegas Raiders, he can't be. He can't be in
- 10:53Speaker 1: the booth doing the league game each week for Fox.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It just can't. It just can't happen. And I don't
- 11:02Speaker 1: know how. You know, you hear stories that he's more involved,
- 11:05Speaker 1: more involved, more involved. Well, if he's more involved, the
- 11:07Speaker 1: league has to get involved and say, hey, it's either
- 11:11Speaker 1: you're a broadcaster or you're the director of football operations,
- 11:17Speaker 1: even if you don't have the title of director of
- 11:19Speaker 1: football operations. So he can't, he can't.
- 11:22Speaker 2: No, what about Troy because obviously they just found their GM.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Does he go back to the booth now if he's.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah, right, that was the one off. You know, that
- 11:30Speaker 1: was basically a one off. I'm sure that he gave
- 11:32Speaker 1: his opinion on a couple of guys and that's it.
- 11:34Speaker 1: He's he's unless there's something that we don't know about.
- 11:37Speaker 1: He's done with the Dolphins.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Well, I'm beIN interesting is I love? They did the
- 11:42Speaker 2: Saturday night game last week. I'm always just them on
- 11:45Speaker 2: Monday Night, Monday Night, but they were there doing Saturday
- 11:48Speaker 2: Seahawks versus Night. All right, let's go today's matchups. We
- 11:52Speaker 2: know Carolina is the main reason why they are four thirty,
- 11:55Speaker 2: because I think the Rams are just always fun to watch.
- 11:58Speaker 2: But Carolina first time in it in a long time.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Maybe they don't think they're gonna.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Be a big draw. So let's put it four thirty.
- 12:05Speaker 2: But I really wanted and I hoped one of these
- 12:08Speaker 2: Northeast teams games would be today so I can get there.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Louis, they're all tomorrow. What's what's up with that? Well,
- 12:15Speaker 1: the reason why the Rams are playing Carolina at four
- 12:18Speaker 1: thirty is because Carolina was eight and nine and they're
- 12:25Speaker 1: not a national team and the Rams had the Rams are.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You know, the Rams obviously have a lot of star power,
- 12:39Speaker 1: but let's face it, you're not gonna put them on
- 12:42Speaker 1: tonight at eight o'clock when you have Green Bay at
- 12:44Speaker 1: Chicago on Amazon Prime. You're not gonna put them on
- 12:48Speaker 1: Sunday Night Football tomorrow night, where you have the Chargers
- 12:51Speaker 1: at New England. You're not putting them on Monday Night
- 12:54Speaker 1: Football where you have Houston against Pittsburgh. So again, but again,
- 13:00Speaker 1: even Los Angeles Rams and the Panthers, the ratings are
- 13:05Speaker 1: going to be higher than any other of the three
- 13:08Speaker 1: major sports in postseason the Rams. I think the Rams
- 13:13Speaker 1: will will survive even though they're on the road against
- 13:16Speaker 1: an eight nine Panthers team. You know when they lost
- 13:18Speaker 1: to them about five weeks ago in Charlotte, they turned
- 13:23Speaker 1: them all over three times. Stafford had his worst yame
- 13:27Speaker 1: their walk off field goal games. It might have been right, No, no,
- 13:31Speaker 1: that wasn't a walk off game. It was Caroline or
- 13:34Speaker 1: took the lead with about four minutes going held on.
- 13:37Speaker 1: But and you know they have Davonte Adams back, and
- 13:40Speaker 1: they have Quinton Like back at safety. Again if the Rams,
- 13:46Speaker 1: if the Rams lose today, it would be pretty surprising.
- 13:51Speaker 2: It would It wouldn't be, but that would be a shocker.
- 13:55Speaker 2: I mean that would just be because Stafford, you know,
- 13:59Speaker 2: it's said just another team. You kind of follow them
- 14:02Speaker 2: in the regular season, but once postseason hits, they become
- 14:06Speaker 2: a different animal. Like I don't know what it is
- 14:08Speaker 2: with the Rams, but they always just turn it on
- 14:11Speaker 2: when they need to. So I expect that to happen
- 14:14Speaker 2: this week. So we'll have to see. But tonight, my
- 14:17Speaker 2: dad's team is in the playoffs, but the first time
- 14:21Speaker 2: since he passed, by the way, I remember twenty nineteen
- 14:24Speaker 2: like it was yesterday. We were at a dinner with
- 14:27Speaker 2: Reyne Groan from the Yankees. He had an awards night
- 14:31Speaker 2: and everything with Doc Good and all that, and guess
- 14:34Speaker 2: what my dad was doing. He was listening to the
- 14:36Speaker 2: Bears playoff game where Kody Parky donks it off the
- 14:39Speaker 2: crossbar at the dinner. He was listening to it at
- 14:43Speaker 2: the game at the dinner. I'll never forget that. But
- 14:46Speaker 2: now they're back on tonight, a very different situation, very
- 14:50Speaker 2: different look. I'm still nervous. The Packers always have the
- 14:52Speaker 2: Bear's number, it feels like, so they to truly say
- 14:56Speaker 2: the Bears have walling like up the NFC North, they
- 14:59Speaker 2: have to win tonight like that. Tonight is a statement game,
- 15:02Speaker 2: even though even if it doesn't lead to more this year,
- 15:05Speaker 2: just to prove yourself in the NFC North, tonight would
- 15:07Speaker 2: be a must win.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I would say, well, again, they've done a great job. Well,
- 15:11Speaker 1: let they've gone from worse to first, as as did
- 15:15Speaker 1: New England. Uh and uh and Jacksonville, well not Jacksonville,
- 15:21Speaker 1: excuse me, but they've gone from worse to first and
- 15:25Speaker 1: uh uh. So whatever happened tonight, you gotta think that
- 15:29Speaker 1: the Bears are on the right path.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And Johnson's a ridiculously great coach. Again, great is great
- 15:36Speaker 2: is a little we can well let me let me
- 15:40Speaker 2: say from Chicago standards, because I had seen them suffer
- 15:43Speaker 2: with ever Flus, who just got fired by Dallas, by
- 15:46Speaker 2: the way, and it's like the one's he gonna learn.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Maybe you can't coach in the NFL. I don't know,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but he just got Somebody had to take the fall
- 15:53Speaker 1: for that horrible defense, and you know they trade away
- 15:57Speaker 1: their best defensive player and Mikason so he reflewes. You know,
- 16:02Speaker 1: he had to try to overcome that. But Ben Johnson
- 16:05Speaker 1: has done an outstanding job and I would vote for
- 16:07Speaker 1: him as as coach of the Year. But to put
- 16:11Speaker 1: I think we and it's and I do the same thing, Alex.
- 16:13Speaker 1: We all put the label great next to guys prematurely,
- 16:17Speaker 1: but he's done the great But Ben Johnson's done a
- 16:19Speaker 1: great job this year. I think Caleb Williams is still
- 16:23Speaker 1: not a finished product. He's still a little inaccurate for
- 16:27Speaker 1: my liking.
- 16:29Speaker 2: And you know what I've always sad about the Bears
- 16:30Speaker 2: is they always need that running back. And of course
- 16:32Speaker 2: David Montgomery was there for a long time. They went
- 16:35Speaker 2: over to Detroit. Manungai looks real, like that's a real
- 16:38Speaker 2: and then Swift. Those two have really carried this team down.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Jay Swift, every time he gets the ball, he has
- 16:44Speaker 2: the edgeone it feels like so I like his game,
- 16:47Speaker 2: like his style.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Well, their running game is excellent. Now you gotta remember
- 16:53Speaker 1: they you know, they were pretty fortunate to win that
- 16:55Speaker 1: second game, which was only three weeks ago. Uh so
- 17:00Speaker 1: really uh.
- 17:02Speaker 2: But almost Hill Mary throw was ridiculous, Like that was
- 17:05Speaker 2: just quite the play it over, I think, and overtime
- 17:08Speaker 2: it was just so Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I think this is the classic toss up game. The
- 17:14Speaker 1: team that avoids the big turnover I think is gonna win.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The health of of of Love, who hasn't played in
- 17:24Speaker 1: about three weeks, to see he shakes off any rush.
- 17:28Speaker 1: The pressure is on Love. The pressures, not on the Bears,
- 17:31Speaker 1: the pressures on the Packers. You know, so this is
- 17:35Speaker 1: this is a toss up game.
- 17:37Speaker 2: And the Packers have had some odd wins. I mean,
- 17:39Speaker 2: they've had some just odd games. I've seen a few
- 17:42Speaker 2: of them over over the weeks. It's just been interesting
- 17:46Speaker 2: how they were sort of out of it and they
- 17:48Speaker 2: get back in it and then they win a couple
- 17:50Speaker 2: of games. I thought they were gonna lose. I don't
- 17:52Speaker 2: know if you saw the same thing, but it just
- 17:54Speaker 2: was like how they do that?
- 17:55Speaker 1: So yeah, and that's that's how close and how wide
- 17:58Speaker 1: open the NFL has been this year. Ye, So, like
- 18:03Speaker 1: I said, makes it fun.
- 18:06Speaker 2: But they did have the Lions over and I think
- 18:08Speaker 2: the Lions downfall was the most shocking story of all
- 18:11Speaker 2: in the NFL because this team was about fifteen and
- 18:14Speaker 2: one or fourteen and two over the last couple of years.
- 18:17Speaker 2: We all know Dan Campbell gets his coaching staff gutted,
- 18:22Speaker 2: but my goodness, little that to me, the that downfall
- 18:27Speaker 2: of golf in the Lions really was a storyline this
- 18:31Speaker 2: whole year. I don't know if you sense that or not.
- 18:33Speaker 1: But well, again, they had a ton of injuries in
- 18:38Speaker 1: the league, that is closer than ever before, more wide open.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Uh a Menders. I think they lost the Green Bay twice,
- 18:47Speaker 2: which is kind of a reason why the Packers are
- 18:51Speaker 2: where they are today because they were able to do
- 18:53Speaker 2: Detroy a couple of times.
- 18:54Speaker 1: So yeah, Now, and.
- 18:59Speaker 2: You know a friend in Wisconsin, so all I see
- 19:01Speaker 2: on his feet is green bas up. That's how I
- 19:03Speaker 2: know these things anyway, So what OB see now tomorrow?
- 19:09Speaker 1: You know what?
- 19:09Speaker 2: We both love Josh Allen. I love his athleticism. But
- 19:13Speaker 2: the Jaguars look for real this year. I mean, Trevor
- 19:18Speaker 2: Lawrence finally looks like the Trevor Lawrence we all thought
- 19:21Speaker 2: he would be.
- 19:21Speaker 1: What do you got? I don't know it.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Well.
- 19:24Speaker 1: William Cohen, an offensive coach, has been able to to
- 19:31Speaker 1: help him for sure, and he's gotten better as the
- 19:33Speaker 1: season went on. Jacksonville has a better a better roster
- 19:41Speaker 1: than Buffalo right now. The only thing that what Buffalo
- 19:46Speaker 1: has on their side is Josh Allen covers up for
- 19:50Speaker 1: all of their awards and the only thing Alex if
- 19:59Speaker 1: they win, it's gonna be which Josh Allen has one
- 20:01Speaker 1: of those great games. If everything else is equal, Jacksonville
- 20:06Speaker 1: has a really, really excellent chance of winning this game.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Also if they if they lose Buffalo, If Buffalo loses,
- 20:14Speaker 1: you might see another team looking for a coach they
- 20:16Speaker 1: might move. Well, that that's.
- 20:18Speaker 2: The thing is how long can they deal with the
- 20:20Speaker 2: McDermott era, because obviously, look, I think Sean's great. I mean,
- 20:25Speaker 2: I think he's done okay with always.
- 20:27Speaker 1: No, Actually he has I mean, there's there's no doubt
- 20:30Speaker 1: about it. But this is not a This is not
- 20:32Speaker 1: a great Buffalo team. This is not like roster they
- 20:34Speaker 1: had even two years ago. And as we talked about,
- 20:37Speaker 1: ross has changed so quickly in the NFL.
- 20:40Speaker 2: By the way, I am convinced they're not tearing down
- 20:42Speaker 2: Hinmark until the season's over in case they do want
- 20:44Speaker 2: to have to do a parade in there or something. Right,
- 20:48Speaker 2: And you know what, I would go if the Bills
- 20:50Speaker 2: won the Super Bowl this year, I would go up
- 20:51Speaker 2: there just to be part of that, because A this
- 20:54Speaker 2: New York's team, and B I've never been in him Mark,
- 20:58Speaker 2: so that'd be a great excuse to go one time,
- 21:00Speaker 2: you know, just to see it. But anyway, we'll get there.
- 21:02Speaker 2: If we get there, I just don't know. The Bills
- 21:05Speaker 2: did not have the best year. Allan did not have
- 21:07Speaker 2: the best Allan year, and we all know the NBA.
- 21:10Speaker 1: No, I would disagree with you on that Alex Alan
- 21:15Speaker 1: had a great year year.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Well maybe that it's Drake May's out shining him that's
- 21:21Speaker 2: going to get him the MVP. I just feel like
- 21:22Speaker 2: Drake May won the whole, like got the whole MVP
- 21:25Speaker 2: wrapped up.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I don't look at it this way. Drake May might
- 21:31Speaker 1: have a better coach than than Alan's Alan's bills have.
- 21:37Speaker 2: It's so funny with Rabel because in Tennessee they didn't
- 21:40Speaker 2: do much like I guess they did a little bit.
- 21:42Speaker 1: But yeah, they did a little bit. But this well,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I think.
- 21:45Speaker 2: They got He got into the playoffs for the first
- 21:47Speaker 2: time in a while. But Rabel's really taking the reins
- 21:51Speaker 2: here and in his home. You know, that's where he
- 21:53Speaker 2: basically grew up in football. He was a star Patriot
- 21:56Speaker 2: when I was growing up. But now he's taking this
- 21:59Speaker 2: team the you know, the playoffs with Drake May. I
- 22:03Speaker 2: think it's just a perfect fit the two of them.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yes, it is a perfect fit. And Drake May makes
- 22:09Speaker 1: well make makes his head coach look better. No matter
- 22:11Speaker 1: who the coaches, he would even make Aaron Glenn look
- 22:15Speaker 1: better if he was if Aaron Glenn had him at quarterback.
- 22:18Speaker 1: But uh, I mean if if the Bills win, it's
- 22:25Speaker 1: skyly because of a great game by Allen. That's that's
- 22:29Speaker 1: just my take on it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: It will come down to Lawrence versus Allen, or Allen
- 22:33Speaker 2: versus the Jaguars defense is.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Gonna get them absolutely.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Now the middle game we're talking, well, we'll talk to
- 22:38Speaker 2: the other one. Because the pain the Egles Niners, I
- 22:43Speaker 2: think is the matchup of the weekend. I don't know why,
- 22:46Speaker 2: but I feel like we've all seen these two teams
- 22:49Speaker 2: play before. But I'm excited to see us what a
- 22:51Speaker 2: healthy brock Party could do against the Egles. I don't
- 22:53Speaker 2: care what round it is. I am convinced they're going
- 22:56Speaker 2: to rewrite that, rewrite that that happened a few years
- 23:01Speaker 2: ago and beat Philly. If he's one hundred percent tomorrow,
- 23:04Speaker 2: I could just see it. I see it happening.
- 23:07Speaker 1: This is an interesting game, maybe the most interesting on
- 23:11Speaker 1: the board. At four point thirty tomorrow afternoon, the Foy
- 23:18Speaker 1: nine Ers are beat up. Shanahan has been able to
- 23:22Speaker 1: end Salah. Robert Salah, a great defensive coordinator, Crummey head coach,
- 23:26Speaker 1: great defensive coordinator, but uh, they know how to overcome injuries.
- 23:37Speaker 1: The Eagles, obviously, you never know what's in their heads.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Their offense has gone into uh the tank the last
- 23:45Speaker 1: half of the year. But they're playing at home and uh,
- 23:52Speaker 1: you know, we'll we'll see what happens. Barkley has to
- 23:55Speaker 1: be Barkley tomorrow. The you know, obviously was nowhere near
- 23:59Speaker 1: the Barkley that he was last year. Alex. I think
- 24:03Speaker 1: I think the Eagles will find a way to pull
- 24:05Speaker 1: this one out.
- 24:06Speaker 2: This whole team, that whole team has been in a
- 24:09Speaker 2: bit of disarray, especially with the A. J. Brown situation.
- 24:13Speaker 2: But that yet they overcame all that they do in
- 24:15Speaker 2: the East and here they are and they're going to
- 24:17Speaker 2: host the Niners tomorrow, and the Niners story about how
- 24:21Speaker 2: they've recovered every from all those injuries. I mean, last
- 24:25Speaker 2: week was rough to see. And the Seahawks look like
- 24:28Speaker 2: they can make a run of this once they get
- 24:30Speaker 2: their hands on the football and the playoffs. But one
- 24:34Speaker 2: we got a time, right Louis, And the other thing for.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Sure on the other side of the ball.
- 24:39Speaker 2: McCaffrey, I'm glad he's healthy, he could tear it up
- 24:42Speaker 2: tomorrow Lincoln Financial will have to see if.
- 24:44Speaker 1: He does that so best all around running back in
- 24:47Speaker 1: the end, I would love I would love a McCaffrey jersey,
- 24:51Speaker 1: so that that's one of my goals.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Anyway, I digress Harbaugh. You know, I love the Harbor
- 24:58Speaker 2: Herbert connection and I want to see that thrive. But
- 25:01Speaker 2: against the Patriots, I don't know. I mean, it's gonna
- 25:04Speaker 2: be fun because again, Harbaugh, I know it's in college
- 25:07Speaker 2: he was legendary, but a legendary coach going up to Foxborough.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I'm very interested to see how coaches tomorrow night.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, they're gonna have a tough time. Uh, you know,
- 25:17Speaker 1: they have, They're off, they have They've lost both left
- 25:20Speaker 1: and right tackles, both outstanding left and right tackles. And
- 25:26Speaker 1: it's a game. It's gonna be a scheme game. Uh.
- 25:31Speaker 1: The team that adjusts is probably gonna win this game. Obviously.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Even though we we love Drake may and uh he
- 25:38Speaker 1: could be the league's most valuable player, He's only in
- 25:41Speaker 1: the second year, which is gonna be his first playoff
- 25:43Speaker 1: game tomorrow night. I mean, he's a kid who played
- 25:45Speaker 1: didn't even play in a big time college football game postseason,
- 25:51Speaker 1: So we'll see. I think he'll be fine. Uh I.
- 25:54Speaker 1: If again, if you're forced me to make a prediction,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I think, uh I think the Patriots will will win.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I do.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Now here's a little bold thing. Although I think you
- 26:05Speaker 2: gotta trust Rogers, but I love C. J.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Stroud.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I think he could beat the Steelers on Monday night.
- 26:10Speaker 1: I just well, they have a much better team. I mean,
- 26:13Speaker 1: there's the Steelers can't match the Texans at all. I
- 26:19Speaker 1: mean it's the Texans have the best defense in the league.
- 26:23Speaker 1: But Alex, I don't know why. I just have a
- 26:28Speaker 1: feeling on this game that somehow, even though Pittsburgh has
- 26:33Speaker 1: trouble running the ball, I just you know, this is
- 26:37Speaker 1: an indoor team playing in Pittsburgh outdoor team. I don't
- 26:41Speaker 1: know what the weather's going to be on Monday night.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I just have one of those weird feelings that Pittsburgh
- 26:52Speaker 1: might advance. I mean, Rogers was brilliant the other night
- 26:55Speaker 1: in the second half. You know, let's face it, the
- 26:59Speaker 1: Steelers have no receivers and it at least they'll be
- 27:02Speaker 1: getting Metcalf back this week from his ridiculous two game suspension.
- 27:06Speaker 1: That he deserved. I don't know. There's something about this game.
- 27:12Speaker 1: This game spews that that Houston should kill them. I
- 27:17Speaker 1: just don't think that's gonna happen. I have a feeling.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if even Houston's gonna
- 27:21Speaker 1: win the game. I really own't. It's just a feeling
- 27:24Speaker 1: I have about Pittsburgh on Monday Night.
- 27:27Speaker 2: When Mike toumuld always pulls something to have his hat.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I swear to God like he yeah, no he does.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And again, if Pittsburgh does lose, is that the last
- 27:36Speaker 1: game for Tomlin says, Hey, I'm gonna take a year off.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I've been here a long time. It's time to move on.
- 27:43Speaker 1: That's you know that. It's It's definitely another All these
- 27:46Speaker 1: games are fascinating this weekend, and there's no Ma Holmes
- 27:49Speaker 1: and there's no Detroit, and these games are still fascinating
- 27:53Speaker 1: and everybody's gonna be watching it. It's gonna be a
- 27:55Speaker 1: big ratings winner for for the NFL. So I'm excited
- 28:01Speaker 1: about it. All right.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Let me let me ask you this, Speaking of coaching
- 28:05Speaker 2: and where anybody leaves, I'm gonna end up. I see
- 28:09Speaker 2: the Miami Dolphins might be making offer to Harball. That's reported,
- 28:14Speaker 2: but John Harbaugh out there. I do feel like the
- 28:18Speaker 2: Giants gonna end up with Stefanski. I just get this
- 28:20Speaker 2: weird feeling that they're gonna I wouldn't say settled for him,
- 28:22Speaker 2: but they're gonna go for him because Harball might be
- 28:25Speaker 2: too much of a price tag. I don't know.
- 28:27Speaker 1: No, I think you're on to something there, Alex. And uh,
- 28:31Speaker 1: if he gets Stefanski, it's not standing. I would not
- 28:34Speaker 1: be settling for Stefanski. I think he's an outstanding coach offensively. Yeah,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I know the Browns have stump the last couple of years.
- 28:41Speaker 1: He's had a little to work with. But uh, no,
- 28:45Speaker 1: I think that Stefanski, who actually interviewed with Baltimore yesterday Friday,
- 28:52Speaker 1: it would be would be a good choice for the Giants.
- 28:56Speaker 1: There's a lot. I can't all these coaching open It's
- 29:01Speaker 1: just amazing.
- 29:01Speaker 2: I don't only want to go for Raheem Morris. I
- 29:04Speaker 2: don't know if he would be a good fit here.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I see Matt Naggie's name floated about too, and remember
- 29:09Speaker 2: that's a former Bear coach who had some success with
- 29:13Speaker 2: the with the Bears. But and of course The other
- 29:16Speaker 2: guy that got mentioned in Cleveland is Jim Schwartz, and
- 29:19Speaker 2: I'm like, I remember sports from the Brown's era, so
- 29:21Speaker 2: maybe they're going to bring.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Up well, he's you know, he's a great defensive course
- 29:27Speaker 1: and he was. He was a d C of Stefanski's
- 29:30Speaker 1: Browns this year and the Browns defense was as good
- 29:33Speaker 1: as any in the league. Their offense stunk. So I
- 29:38Speaker 1: know he's interviewed for a couple of head coaching jobs.
- 29:42Speaker 2: And Lego season stats, did you know Breese Hall helped
- 29:46Speaker 2: the Jets ranked tenths, I mean, in the top ten
- 29:50Speaker 2: in rushing yards. I'm very surprised by that fact. But
- 29:53Speaker 2: I saw that stat last week. I said, boy, even
- 29:55Speaker 2: though the Jets fell apart, at least breeze Hall was
- 29:57Speaker 2: still pretty solid the whole year.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder if they're going to resign him, if
- 30:01Speaker 1: they're going to use the franchise tag on I've resolved
- 30:04Speaker 1: that's going to do that.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I mean, they should, They'd be dumb not to, but.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say so, I said, I would say
- 30:10Speaker 1: that they You're probably right because they could have even
- 30:15Speaker 1: taken they could have even taken that fourth round draft
- 30:17Speaker 1: choice from from the chiefs at the trade deadline decided
- 30:21Speaker 1: not to, so I would have to say that they
- 30:25Speaker 1: probably will franchise him if they can't come to a
- 30:28Speaker 1: long term contract. All right, let's talk hockey real fast.
- 30:33Speaker 2: And I got a head into the city for ast series. Okay,
- 30:37Speaker 2: firstly I met Islander. I guess it was on in
- 30:41Speaker 2: that for the one of the Cups. But hockey legend
- 30:45Speaker 2: beside Islander legend, hockey legend, Chico Rush. Last week I
- 30:48Speaker 2: saw him again and I said, yeah, I come on
- 30:50Speaker 2: my show somebody. We'll get him on.
- 30:52Speaker 1: But what's your memory of Chico?
- 30:53Speaker 2: Like, what do you remember most? Because I remember as
- 30:55Speaker 2: an announcer.
- 30:56Speaker 1: You remember it was a player. Well, he played on
- 31:00Speaker 1: the first He was on the first Stanley Cup of
- 31:03Speaker 1: the four for the Islanders, and for really for most
- 31:06Speaker 1: of those early days when the Island of Dynasty was
- 31:09Speaker 1: just forming, it was Chico was like one and Billy Smith,
- 31:15Speaker 1: who ended up being in the Hall of Famer. And
- 31:17Speaker 1: it's the best clutch goal he ever saw was one
- 31:22Speaker 1: a he shout out Pittsburgh in the famous game seven
- 31:27Speaker 1: won Nothing in nineteen seventy five when the Islands were
- 31:30Speaker 1: down three nothing and they won the last four. They
- 31:35Speaker 1: then they went to the next round. They were down three
- 31:37Speaker 1: to nothing and they won the next three games against
- 31:39Speaker 1: the Flyers, but lost game seven to the Flyers. Kate
- 31:42Speaker 1: Smith was the same cancel anthem, excuse me, God, bless
- 31:46Speaker 1: America live. He was in nets for that. He gave
- 31:50Speaker 1: up an early goal. No, he was a great He
- 31:52Speaker 1: was an outstanding NHL goalie. He was, and then he
- 31:57Speaker 1: went to the he bounced around a little bit than
- 32:00Speaker 1: When the Devil's moved from Colorado As to Colorado Rockies,
- 32:04Speaker 1: to the Meadowlands to New Jersey, he was there. He
- 32:09Speaker 1: was their best player, even though the team was absolutely horrendous.
- 32:14Speaker 1: And really he's known as a Devil because he's been
- 32:19Speaker 1: on the Devil telecasts for all those years. Then he
- 32:21Speaker 1: retired as a broadcaster and after a year or two
- 32:24Speaker 1: wanted to come back into broadcast thing. And he works with.
- 32:29Speaker 2: You know, he was so much time. He and Doc
- 32:31Speaker 2: Emrick used to spend time up in the booth with
- 32:33Speaker 2: my dad and I, whether it be an intermission or
- 32:35Speaker 2: pre or post like. He spent so much time with us,
- 32:39Speaker 2: and it was just really good to connect with him.
- 32:43Speaker 2: He and Gary Thorne because I listened to the Mets
- 32:46Speaker 2: a lot, and obviously how he rose back. He is
- 32:49Speaker 2: one of those guys I could say it was a
- 32:50Speaker 2: voice of my childhood because I used to listen to
- 32:52Speaker 2: him with Doc Emrick all the.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Time, like I grew up. Well, there's no greater hockey
- 32:56Speaker 1: announcer than Doc Emerck.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Even just the goal scorer and the soliloquies he would
- 33:02Speaker 2: say and all this other stuff he was.
- 33:04Speaker 1: He was brilliant. Yeah, he was quite the wordsmith.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I guess you would say.
- 33:08Speaker 1: He certainly was. He certainly was the wordsmith. Uh themselves.
- 33:13Speaker 1: You know, me and Maddie were talking a bit.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I think they're all concerned they don't have enough pieces
- 33:17Speaker 2: to make it make a run here, and they might be.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You know, I think they have to put a maybe
- 33:22Speaker 2: make a move or two right to to really solidify
- 33:25Speaker 2: their playoff push here.
- 33:26Speaker 1: They have to. I mean they are in total free
- 33:29Speaker 1: for Remember they started eight and one and were dominant.
- 33:32Speaker 1: They've gotten poor goaltending. You know, they thought that Jacob
- 33:35Speaker 1: Markstrom was going to solve their goaltending. I did two
- 33:40Speaker 1: and their goaltending hasn't been enough to snuff. They've been weak,
- 33:43Speaker 1: as we said five on five there's something and the
- 33:47Speaker 1: fact that they didn't get Quinn used I want and
- 33:49Speaker 1: when everybody thought they were I wonder how that played
- 33:55Speaker 1: on the team. How that affecond team Alex. This team
- 33:58Speaker 1: looks looks bad, looks terrible, and I don't know if
- 34:02Speaker 1: they're going to make a coaching staff change. The only
- 34:07Speaker 1: assistant coach with NHL experience on the Devil's staff is
- 34:11Speaker 1: Jeremy Collington, who was coach of the Blackhawks a couple
- 34:14Speaker 1: of years back, and he coaches the Devil's power play,
- 34:17Speaker 1: which has not been good. But there's something wrong there.
- 34:21Speaker 1: They're too good to be out of the playoff spot.
- 34:26Speaker 1: They are, and I don't I mean, I don't know
- 34:28Speaker 1: how they get that resolved, you know, which with fitz Fitzgerald,
- 34:32Speaker 1: their GM has all these no trade clauses. You know,
- 34:35Speaker 1: there's fifteen of them money on the Devils. But they
- 34:40Speaker 1: got problems. They have problems, and I know you gotta go,
- 34:44Speaker 1: but real quick, the Rangers have real problems too.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I was gonna say, you know, this team wins the
- 34:51Speaker 2: Winter Classic and I'm like, all right, that's gonna be
- 34:54Speaker 2: the push they need. Then they come back to the
- 34:56Speaker 2: Garden and they still can not.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Win for their lights. I thought, now a couple of things.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Like that was gonna start something about.
- 35:07Speaker 1: A couple of quick things to Winter Classic should never
- 35:09Speaker 1: be played in Florida. That's just me. It should be
- 35:12Speaker 1: played in an Auber like if they did that one
- 35:14Speaker 1: year and it was snowing or in Buffalo. It's and
- 35:18Speaker 1: it's just another game. It's just like the Knicks. Just
- 35:21Speaker 1: like the Knicks after that Bogus NBA Cup, They've lost
- 35:26Speaker 1: five out of six. It's no momentum, it's not so
- 35:30Speaker 1: but real quick at the Rangers obviously losing Igor Schusterkin
- 35:36Speaker 1: for at least ten games, Adam Fox probably for the
- 35:41Speaker 1: for about ten games. Those are two plays you can't replace.
- 35:46Speaker 1: You can't replace Adam Fox. And you know I have
- 35:48Speaker 1: I'm not the biggest Adam Fox fan, but the guy
- 35:50Speaker 1: is an outstanding He's the best defenseman, he's the best
- 35:53Speaker 1: offensive defenseman. He helps their power play. You know now
- 35:57Speaker 1: that they're gonna have to make an internal decision what
- 35:59Speaker 1: they do with the trade deadline. Who they trade? Do
- 36:02Speaker 1: they trade Trocheck, who's gonna be a free agent? Do
- 36:05Speaker 1: they trade Panarin? You know you hear that, maybe Colorado
- 36:10Speaker 1: who doesn't need Panarin might be interested in Panera. Uh,
- 36:16Speaker 1: you know, they're a loaded team to begin with. So
- 36:19Speaker 1: that's what we got. What we gotta we gotta see.
- 36:21Speaker 1: I mean with the Islanders, they've out exceeded expectations. I
- 36:25Speaker 1: don't know if they're going to make the playoffs. They've
- 36:28Speaker 1: had major injuries, they've been able to overcome them. I
- 36:30Speaker 1: don't know if it's gonna be sustainable. But I'll just
- 36:33Speaker 1: say this, Matthew Shaeffer last Saturday night against Toronto Maple
- 36:38Speaker 1: leafs or that was put on an amazing show. I
- 36:41Speaker 1: cannot believe that Matthew Schaeffer isn't one of the best
- 36:46Speaker 1: eight Canadian boarding defensemen. It's not on the Olympic team.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I'm glad he's not on the Olympic team. I want
- 36:52Speaker 1: to see him get his three weeks rest. So if
- 36:54Speaker 1: the Islanders are going to make a push, which they
- 36:57Speaker 1: probably will for the for a playoff spot, I want healthy.
- 37:01Speaker 1: But Alex, this kid is so good. He's not only
- 37:04Speaker 1: leading in my opinion. When I'm gonna start talking about
- 37:06Speaker 1: him as a leading candidate for the Norris Trophy as
- 37:09Speaker 1: best defenseman, we know he's the leading candidate for the
- 37:12Speaker 1: call the trophy as best rookie. He's been that good.
- 37:16Speaker 1: It's remarkable to me. So at least he makes whether
- 37:21Speaker 1: the Islanders make it or not, they got the foundation
- 37:24Speaker 1: for it. Looks like an up and coming team for
- 37:28Speaker 1: years to come. Matthew Schaeffer has been has has been
- 37:32Speaker 1: been remarkable, incredible.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I gotta get the video of him coming off
- 37:35Speaker 2: the ice to all those cheers a couple of weeks ago.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Like he just he's beloved it. It's only his first
- 37:41Speaker 2: the first four months, first four months exactly, So Louis,
- 37:45Speaker 2: We'll have to see how it all plays out. I
- 37:50Speaker 2: just feel like it's sort of been underwhelming. I don't know,
- 37:52Speaker 2: nothing really shocking has happened in hockey. Am I not
- 37:57Speaker 2: following a lot or I just feel like everything's kind
- 37:59Speaker 2: of Maybe the range are a bit of a shock,
- 38:01Speaker 2: but everything else.
- 38:03Speaker 1: I mean, we just talked about We just talked about him,
- 38:06Speaker 1: Matthew Schaeffer. Nobody thought he was gonna be this this good,
- 38:09Speaker 1: this quick. Nobody thought that the Allens would be playing
- 38:12Speaker 1: him twenty five minutes a game. You know, we talked
- 38:15Speaker 1: about before the season began and we knew, Remember, we
- 38:18Speaker 1: talked about his Bobby or type skills. But he's playing,
- 38:23Speaker 1: he's playing on power play, he's killing penalties. I said,
- 38:26Speaker 1: I remember we were talking, is he gonna be on
- 38:28Speaker 1: the ice in the last five six minutes of the game?
- 38:30Speaker 1: Are they going to take that chance? With the lead?
- 38:32Speaker 1: Would they? Would they have him on the ice? The
- 38:36Speaker 1: kid's been in every situation, and he's excelled in every situation.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I think I think he's one of he's the stories
- 38:43Speaker 1: and he is definitely the story in the Eastern Conference.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Montreal and the Buffalo Sabers. Buffalo Sabers, you know that
- 38:50Speaker 1: tied with the Jets for the longest playoff draft and
- 38:55Speaker 1: uh you know they have won twelve. By the third
- 39:00Speaker 1: all their young players look like they they finally meshed together.
- 39:04Speaker 1: And now you got them to look at. You got Montreal,
- 39:07Speaker 1: a nice young team to look at that is on
- 39:10Speaker 1: the upswing. And so no, I think it's and of
- 39:13Speaker 1: course looking forward to the Olympics and in a couple
- 39:16Speaker 1: of weeks that that'll be outstanding. I'll be watching every game.
- 39:21Speaker 1: But yeah, I would have to say the number one
- 39:24Speaker 1: story in Angel this year as from an individual, is
- 39:27Speaker 1: Matthew Schaeffer.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yeah, No, absolutely need a die, And I think to
- 39:33Speaker 2: really understand what we're talking about, you got to experience
- 39:35Speaker 2: it on the island. I think it's the only way
- 39:36Speaker 2: to really get you gotta go to UBS and experience
- 39:39Speaker 2: his his game because people are flooding over him, it
- 39:44Speaker 2: seems like already.
- 39:44Speaker 1: So we'll have no they are and Ubs is a
- 39:47Speaker 1: great arena, so a beautiful arena, comfortable, So yeah, get
- 39:53Speaker 1: out there, see absolutely.
- 39:54Speaker 2: All right, Louis, Well, always a pleasure having you on,
- 39:57Speaker 2: and we'll do this again soon. Uh because by the
- 40:01Speaker 2: time we do this next who knows, the Yang still
- 40:04Speaker 2: may not make a move. I mean we're almost at
- 40:05Speaker 2: spring training and they haven't.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Made one move.
- 40:08Speaker 2: But it's it's it's getting a little frushrating to see
- 40:10Speaker 2: some of your mets. Your mets have not done much either,
- 40:13Speaker 2: so it's kind of interesting.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Yeah. No, we could talk about the frustration and with
- 40:19Speaker 1: lack of adding to the roster, I don't know what
- 40:22Speaker 1: texts going on, but we'll talk about that next time.
- 40:25Speaker 2: All right, Luke Terminello, this was great and I will
- 40:28Speaker 2: talk to you soon on the one like up network.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Thanks for joining to start the new year, and Happy
- 40:32Speaker 2: New Year.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Happy New Year. Alex, thanks for being Thanks thanks for
- 40:35Speaker 1: having me. Always enjoy being with you.
