- 0:00Speaker 1: And the Kraken power play.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Look, this is the krak Postgame Show, brought to you
- 0:06Speaker 2: by Toyota of Olympia.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Now for an in depth look at your Kraken hockey.
- 0:11Speaker 2: It's the post game on the Global Credit Union Kraken
- 0:14Speaker 2: Audio Network.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We're back inside.
- 0:18Speaker 4: IF five then played Arena Everett fits you, Al Kaniski
- 0:21Speaker 4: Ryde shotgun the Kraken three to one. They win over
- 0:25Speaker 4: the Chicago Blackhawks and partner for Seattle. The challenge was
- 0:30Speaker 4: laid earlier today by head coach Lane Lambert, needing to
- 0:34Speaker 4: shoot more, generating more offense. Coming into this game, the
- 0:38Speaker 4: Kraken were out shot forty eight to thirty four in
- 0:41Speaker 4: their last two games twenty seven thirteen, last game le
- 0:45Speaker 4: franchise low thirteen shots. They got back on the horse
- 0:48Speaker 4: here tonight, three to one win over Chicago.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 6: I think it was also having a better start as well.
- 0:53Speaker 6: Ten shots up the twenty four shots in the game tonight.
- 0:57Speaker 6: Ten happening there in the first period and coming out
- 1:01Speaker 6: with a bang, starting on time, as we say, and
- 1:04Speaker 6: it looked a lot better tonight for the Crack and
- 1:06Speaker 6: coming out of the gates.
- 1:07Speaker 4: It was a big night as well for some guys
- 1:09Speaker 4: who you were expecting a lot out of yet a
- 1:12Speaker 4: two point night from Jordan Everley, a two point night
- 1:14Speaker 4: for Matty Beanier's goals and assists each the power Play
- 1:17Speaker 4: got on the board. The PK was a perfect three
- 1:20Speaker 4: for three back to back perfect PK games as well.
- 1:23Speaker 4: For Seattle, everything I think fell into place. And while
- 1:28Speaker 4: this might not have been the most exciting win, this
- 1:30Speaker 4: might not have been a lot of you know, highlight
- 1:35Speaker 4: reel action in this game. This is more typical of
- 1:38Speaker 4: what you're going to expect from a Laine lambertine. Very cerebral,
- 1:42Speaker 4: and they broke down Chicago in a lot of different areas.
- 1:45Speaker 6: Yeah, eighteen block shots for the Crack of the Night,
- 1:47Speaker 6: which was huge, you know, a lot of shots finding
- 1:50Speaker 6: their way through, but an additional eighteen that were stopped
- 1:53Speaker 6: by shin pad skates and other body paraphernalia. So that
- 1:56Speaker 6: was a big part of limited pucks to the front
- 1:59Speaker 6: of the Crack of the New Lay.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Lambert shook up the lines a little bit coming into
- 2:03Speaker 4: this game. Ellie tolven And moved up to the top line,
- 2:05Speaker 4: with Beniers and Everily Berkeley Catton centering the fourth line
- 2:09Speaker 4: of card shape and winterton Yannie Newman back in the
- 2:12Speaker 4: lineup as he was on the right side of that
- 2:14Speaker 4: third line. What did you make of the lineup shifts
- 2:17Speaker 4: here this evening?
- 2:17Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that that fourth line is always strong
- 2:21Speaker 6: out there, you know, playing physical, not hurting you defensively
- 2:25Speaker 6: in your own end, looking for offensive opportunities, but getting
- 2:28Speaker 6: momentum going.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I thought that looked really good.
- 2:30Speaker 6: Telvin had a big shot on the power play there
- 2:33Speaker 6: in the in the second period. So yeah, I early
- 2:36Speaker 6: to tell after one game, but I like the tweaks
- 2:38Speaker 6: that were made.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Two OHO and two through four games of this five
- 2:42Speaker 4: game homestand they'll wrap it up with San Jose on
- 2:44Speaker 4: Wednesday against the team that the Crack have had some
- 2:47Speaker 4: trouble with the last couple of seasons. With only one
- 2:50Speaker 4: game to go on this home stand, what have you
- 2:53Speaker 4: made of this Kracking performance these last.
- 2:56Speaker 6: Four games, Well, it continued. What continues for the Kracking
- 2:59Speaker 6: is there in every game. Yes, they might be down
- 3:01Speaker 6: a goal, they might be up a goal, but they
- 3:03Speaker 6: continue to be in every game. And they've also shown
- 3:06Speaker 6: a few times battling back in the third period to
- 3:09Speaker 6: get back into a game when they need when they
- 3:11Speaker 6: needed to steal a point in an ot situation. So
- 3:15Speaker 6: this is a team that I expect to see in
- 3:18Speaker 6: the remainder of the games this season, very close games,
- 3:22Speaker 6: you know, obviously hoping to end up on the winning
- 3:24Speaker 6: side of them.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Three to one.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Crack In they take down Chicago will step out one
- 3:29Speaker 4: more time. Come back with Ty Cartier after this on
- 3:33Speaker 4: the Global Credit Union crack An Audio Network.

- 5:40Speaker 3: listening to Seattle Crack and Hockey Jordan Everly Sports.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.
- 5:47Speaker 1: To the final time tonight.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Welcome back inside of Climate Pledge Aarina alongside al Kiniski.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Ever fits you back with you to the locker room
- 5:54Speaker 4: we go, Ty Cartier standing by following this three wand
- 5:58Speaker 4: krack in win type, you guys got back to your
- 6:01Speaker 4: your defensive, structured game here tonight paid off in a
- 6:04Speaker 4: three to one win. Give us your thoughts on this
- 6:06Speaker 4: one from ice level.
- 6:07Speaker 13: Yeah, I think in the first period we gave him
- 6:09Speaker 13: some opportunities that we probably shouldn't have. But after that
- 6:12Speaker 13: I feel like we we locked it down pretty good
- 6:14Speaker 13: in what we were doing the D zone and played
- 6:16Speaker 13: ball for the last.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Forty Now you're lying over the last handful of games,
- 6:19Speaker 4: you guys have really factored into not only the scoring,
- 6:21Speaker 4: but you've been blocking shots, You've been doing a lot
- 6:24Speaker 4: of things away from the puck.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You've been rewarded with some points as well.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Just touch on what it's like playing with those guys
- 6:32Speaker 4: and that role that you guys have been charged with
- 6:34Speaker 4: here this season.
- 6:35Speaker 13: Yeah, I think, you know, whenever we get out there,
- 6:37Speaker 13: we're gonna try and set the line next line up
- 6:39Speaker 13: for success. Play in the zone, you know, create, try
- 6:42Speaker 13: and play as little as we can in the D zone,
- 6:44Speaker 13: just to keep the puck down there. And you know,
- 6:46Speaker 13: that's our game, So that's what we're trying to do.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Yeah, talk about that a little bit for a second time.
- 6:49Speaker 6: When you come off the ice, do you feel like
- 6:51Speaker 6: it's a successful shift if you feel like you've increased
- 6:54Speaker 6: the momentum for that next line coming.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Out, Yeah, for sure.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I think.
- 6:58Speaker 13: You know, as a fourth line, that's that's part of
- 6:59Speaker 13: your job to get out there and get the boys momentum.
- 7:03Speaker 13: And on the other hand, you're you're still trying to
- 7:05Speaker 13: go down there and score, you know, playing with skill players,
- 7:08Speaker 13: so there's no excuse and you know, just try and
- 7:11Speaker 13: get down there. And make plays and and uh yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 13: set the line that next line up for success.
- 7:15Speaker 6: Well, a couple of takeaways for you tonight, a couple
- 7:17Speaker 6: of shots on goal. You got a log for one hit,
- 7:20Speaker 6: but I think you probably had a couple of more
- 7:22Speaker 6: in there that didn't get accounted for. It seems to
- 7:25Speaker 6: be a consistent part of your game over the last
- 7:28Speaker 6: handful of games. But that's the way you want to
- 7:30Speaker 6: play is is that? Is that about accurate?
- 7:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:32Speaker 13: I think so, you know, I think getting the shots,
- 7:35Speaker 13: that's that's big for us, creating second opportunities and then
- 7:38Speaker 13: when we are playing in the zone, getting shot blocks
- 7:40Speaker 13: around the PK, you know, helping Joey out. Obviously he's
- 7:43Speaker 13: incredible every night, but the more pucks we can keep
- 7:45Speaker 13: away from him, the better.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Berkeley Caton centered your line tonight. You obviously watched him
- 7:50Speaker 4: play these last handful of games, but now playing with
- 7:53Speaker 4: him on a line, what can you say about the
- 7:55Speaker 4: kind of player he is and what was it like
- 7:58Speaker 4: being his winger this evening?
- 7:59Speaker 13: Yeahbviously everyone can see it. He's incredibly skilled and he's
- 8:02Speaker 13: easy to play with. You know, he's one of those
- 8:04Speaker 13: guys that's gonna love the mail he's gonna he's gonna
- 8:06Speaker 13: carry the pocket, he's gonna make play. So you kind
- 8:08Speaker 13: of just gotta when you're playing wing with him, get
- 8:11Speaker 13: him the puck and then get open and uh, he'll
- 8:12Speaker 13: be able to find you.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Last one here for me. We talked about it before
- 8:16Speaker 4: we came back on. Andre Berrikowski has returned back to Seattle.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Of course, he scores a goal against his former team.
- 8:23Speaker 4: You said he gave a little cheeky stare down at
- 8:26Speaker 4: the bench. But what do you remember about Andre his
- 8:28Speaker 4: time here in Seattle. You got to play with him always,
- 8:31Speaker 4: that smile, that infectious personality, and I guess say he's
- 8:34Speaker 4: plus one here tonight, although you guys got the win
- 8:37Speaker 4: where it outs.
- 8:38Speaker 13: Yeah, Berkeye was a great guy, great teammate too to
- 8:42Speaker 13: be around with for two years when when I was
- 8:44Speaker 13: here with him, and uh, I wish him nothing but
- 8:46Speaker 13: the best. He was always happy, smiling guy, easy to
- 8:48Speaker 13: talk to. So yeah, I wish him nothing but the best.
- 8:50Speaker 13: He's a great guy.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Oh seeing, I had a feeling he was probably gonna
- 8:52Speaker 4: get one here tonight, But the crack and they win
- 8:54Speaker 4: where it matters on the board, three to one tie.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Thanks for the time. Man, we'll talk to you down
- 8:58Speaker 1: the road.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Thanks guys.
- 8:59Speaker 4: All right, Cracking forward Ty Cartier following tonight's three to
- 9:02Speaker 4: one win over to Chicago, over to you.
- 9:05Speaker 6: Pardon well, I'll tell you for takeaways tonight I had
- 9:07Speaker 6: a better start without the cracking. Came out yeah, flying
- 9:10Speaker 6: ten shots on goal, really sitting the tone there early,
- 9:13Speaker 6: a little bit more time in the ozone through the
- 9:16Speaker 6: second period. Special teams was fantastic tonight. A one for
- 9:20Speaker 6: two on the power play, a perfect three for three
- 9:22Speaker 6: on the penalty kill face off.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Still some room for improvement.
- 9:25Speaker 6: They started out strong and ended at forty percent, but
- 9:28Speaker 6: that's gonna be something. I think that just throughout the season,
- 9:30Speaker 6: the Cracking are gonna work on getting better and better.
- 9:34Speaker 6: At three stars brought to you by Mama Kay, all
- 9:36Speaker 6: three of them cracking players tonight.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Third you say weird. Third Star goes.
- 9:41Speaker 1: To Jamie Alexiak.
- 9:43Speaker 6: He had a goal and was plus one on the night.
- 9:45Speaker 6: Second star goes to Jordan Everley, he had a goal
- 9:48Speaker 6: and assist. And your first star goes to Maddy Beniers.
- 9:51Speaker 6: One goal, one assist and plus one on the night.
- 9:53Speaker 4: That'll do it for us here in the booth alas
- 9:57Speaker 4: He'll telling it across the street to Tom's wat Catch
- 10:00Speaker 4: the Cracking post game with that Tom's Watch Bar with

- 15:38Speaker 3: in just a bit and as the Crack and improving
- 15:40Speaker 3: again to six two and four sixteen points on the campaign,
- 15:44Speaker 3: they're homes down at two to zero to two with
- 15:47Speaker 3: one more game remaining on that. It's Wednesday against San
- 15:50Speaker 3: Jose in Chicago, falling to five five and three here
- 15:55Speaker 3: in game three of the six game road trip, and
- 15:58Speaker 3: they have lost four of the last five game. James,
- 16:00Speaker 3: the Crack can also improve into nine and four all
- 16:03Speaker 3: time against Chicago and have won six of seven all
- 16:06Speaker 3: time against Chicago here at Climate Pledgerina, let's recap this one.
- 16:11Speaker 3: This Seattle crack and drive to the net scoring recap
- 16:14Speaker 3: has brought to you by the all new Chevvy tracks
- 16:16Speaker 3: now bigger and Boulder tracks is a perfect assist for
- 16:20Speaker 3: all of life's adventures. First period, both teams ten shots
- 16:25Speaker 3: on the board, the crack and at one point owning
- 16:27Speaker 3: an edge at a two as well, but also had
- 16:30Speaker 3: to contend with some pretty pesky play by Chicago at
- 16:34Speaker 3: the front of their net. But amongst the cracking big
- 16:36Speaker 3: plays down the other way, Brandon Montor nearly batting a
- 16:39Speaker 3: puck right past the blockers side of Arvid solder Bloom,
- 16:44Speaker 3: but sader Bloom was there to make the save and
- 16:46Speaker 3: that kept things at nothing nothing at the end of
- 16:48Speaker 3: one period of play into period two. We talked about
- 16:52Speaker 3: this earlier, the importance and value of getting shots on
- 16:56Speaker 3: net it doesn't matter where it comes from, and the
- 16:58Speaker 3: crack and adhering to that print, the poll to get
- 17:01Speaker 3: Jamie Alexiak on the board two fifty seven into period two.
- 17:05Speaker 3: It was his second goal of the season. It came
- 17:07Speaker 3: unassisted and right through traffic Alexiak firing a dart sixty
- 17:12Speaker 3: feet away right past Arvid Sodderbloom to make it one nothing.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Kraken so close as well for Berkeley Canton to pick
- 17:19Speaker 3: up his first career NHL goal. He was stationed in traffic.
- 17:23Speaker 3: He put his stick in mid air and just miss
- 17:25Speaker 3: redirecting a puck right past sodder Bloom, but it beat
- 17:28Speaker 3: the goaltender clean. Alexiak will take it his second career
- 17:32Speaker 3: goal against Chicago and that also breaking an eight game
- 17:35Speaker 3: full scoring drafts in Chicago got into penalty issues Ryan
- 17:39Speaker 3: Donato's seven to twenty eight a period two, taking a
- 17:42Speaker 3: tripping penalty and the Krack and wasting little time off
- 17:45Speaker 3: an end zone face off win to set up their
- 17:47Speaker 3: two to nothing lead. It would go eventually to Maddy
- 17:50Speaker 3: Benier's time coming at seven thirty six. Beniers' second goal
- 17:54Speaker 3: of the season, helped out by Jordan Emberley and Ellie Tolbinen,
- 17:58Speaker 3: and with the puck really fired a no look behind
- 18:02Speaker 3: the back pass from the right side onto the tape
- 18:05Speaker 3: of Veniers, a no mistake right past sodder Bloom and
- 18:08Speaker 3: the Kraken comfortably up to nothing, and yet you could
- 18:12Speaker 3: really feel that they hadn't found the extra gear in
- 18:15Speaker 3: their game, because Chicago outshot them fourteen to five in
- 18:19Speaker 3: period two. Nonetheless, it would take a massive push for
- 18:23Speaker 3: Chicago to get right back into this one. The Kraken sentinet.
- 18:26Speaker 3: It possibly was coming, but time was on their side.
- 18:29Speaker 3: With a two to nothing lead for the Kraken after
- 18:31Speaker 3: two periods of play, Chicago would eventually break through eleven
- 18:35Speaker 3: thirty three into period three. Who else Andre Borakowski, in
- 18:40Speaker 3: his first game back in sl since leaving via trade
- 18:42Speaker 3: this last summer. He found an open space on the
- 18:45Speaker 3: ice and after a filthy pass from Connor Bdard, went
- 18:49Speaker 3: all alone on Joey to Cord and beat him blocker's side,
- 18:52Speaker 3: Bakowski picking up his fifth goal of the season at
- 18:55Speaker 3: eleven thirty three that cut the Kraken lead to two
- 18:58Speaker 3: to one. Connor Badar again he has been heating up.
- 19:02Speaker 3: He picked up the assist on the play to make
- 19:05Speaker 3: it a two to one game and with that as well,
- 19:07Speaker 3: but Dart extending a recent point streak of his as well,
- 19:12Speaker 3: now up to five games nine points as well in
- 19:15Speaker 3: that span. But you talk about a big, pressure relieving goal,
- 19:19Speaker 3: the crack and got it came in sixteen oh five
- 19:21Speaker 3: a period three, Jordan Everley getting his fifth goal of
- 19:24Speaker 3: the campaign, Veneer's with the assist with every converting right
- 19:28Speaker 3: smack off the rush and finishing a multi point effort.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Veneers also getting one as well sixteen oh five the
- 19:35Speaker 3: time of the goal to make a three to one.
- 19:37Speaker 3: All that was left to wonder what could Joey Decord
- 19:41Speaker 3: do now? Once but twice he had the puck on
- 19:43Speaker 3: his stick and was looking two hundred feet down the
- 19:46Speaker 3: other way to park it into an open net and
- 19:48Speaker 3: score a goalie goal. You can sense it's coming one
- 19:51Speaker 3: of these days, but Chicago thwarting both efforts and the
- 19:54Speaker 3: Kraken closing it out in relatively clean fashion in period
- 19:58Speaker 3: three with a three to one victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Your final totals in this one Schanzan net in favor
- 20:06Speaker 3: of the Blackhawks have thirty to twenty four. The Kraken
- 20:08Speaker 3: did outshoot Chicago though third period ninety six and turn
- 20:12Speaker 3: that number back in their favor for the final period
- 20:15Speaker 3: power plays. This is where it made a big difference here,
- 20:18Speaker 3: the Kraken going one of two on the man advantage
- 20:21Speaker 3: third straight game. By the way, they have scored a
- 20:23Speaker 3: power play goal the Blackhawks going zero for three, and
- 20:26Speaker 3: you can sense maybe more signs the penalty kill is
- 20:29Speaker 3: certainly turning a corner, but isn't it. Joey Decord, Razors
- 20:33Speaker 3: sharp and the Kraken feeding off of that as he
- 20:36Speaker 3: picked up the win tonight on a twenty nine save effort,
- 20:40Speaker 3: his record improving to six one and three. The last
- 20:43Speaker 3: a net to Arvid Solderbloom twenty one saves on twenty
- 20:46Speaker 3: four shots. He is now one two and one on
- 20:50Speaker 3: the season. Time now for our Course Life HILLSS Moments
- 20:53Speaker 3: of the game. Kraken fans reminder, you can win your

- 21:09Speaker 3: Period one, Joey to Cord, about halfway through, turning in
- 21:13Speaker 3: a big stop on Colton Dock, the former sea of
- 21:15Speaker 3: a Thunderbird, a rare play that Chicago made to get
- 21:18Speaker 3: to the front of the net, but the Cord, looking
- 21:20Speaker 3: like he was sharp, made a big save and that
- 21:23Speaker 3: kept matters at a nothing nothing game, and then in
- 21:25Speaker 3: period two Arvid solder Bloom, same place, big stop on
- 21:29Speaker 3: Jordan Everley and if the Kraken can pop one of those,
- 21:32Speaker 3: they're cruising away after two periods of play and taking
- 21:35Speaker 3: away any kind of remaining hope that Chicago perhaps had.
- 21:38Speaker 3: But solder Bloom making a big stop on Jordan Everley
- 21:41Speaker 3: in period two. Those were among our moments are cores,
- 21:45Speaker 3: light chillis moments of the game that brings us to
- 21:48Speaker 3: the big win brought to you by the Evergreen Council
- 21:51Speaker 3: on Problem Gambling. In we had East Toronto in a
- 21:55Speaker 3: battle with Pittsburgh in Toronto and a three to nothing
- 21:59Speaker 3: game also in Toronto. Does that sound familiar? Well, this
- 22:03Speaker 3: time fortune falls on the Maple Leafs side as they
- 22:06Speaker 3: overcame a three to nothing deficit against Pittsburgh, scoring four
- 22:11Speaker 3: unanswered goals in period three for a four to three
- 22:14Speaker 3: win and over the Penguins at Scotia Bank Arena. Bobby
- 22:18Speaker 3: McMahon broke the game tying goal at thirteen forty three
- 22:22Speaker 3: period three. Anthony stolar Is also making thirty four saves.
- 22:26Speaker 3: The Leafs have won three of their last four games,

- 33:15Speaker 3: would be your Seattle Kracking tonight knocked off the Chicago
- 33:18Speaker 3: Blackhawks three one Yep, it's real. It's early in the season,
- 33:22Speaker 3: but it's real. Glad you're hanging out with us. We
- 33:24Speaker 3: are alive at Tom's Watchbar, Mike Benton Alkiniski with you
- 33:28Speaker 3: and friends. We're gonna basically say it right now. We're
- 33:31Speaker 3: gonna lean on you for plenty of reaction. We're gonna
- 33:33Speaker 3: hopefully get to some reaction as well from downstairs back
- 33:37Speaker 3: at Climbing Pledge Arena. But this is your floor open
- 33:40Speaker 3: right now. We want to hear from you. Four nine
- 33:42Speaker 3: four five one, Texas. How satisfied are you right now
- 33:46Speaker 3: with this start to the Kraken season. First place in
- 33:49Speaker 3: the Pacific Division again three to one win over the Blackhawks.
- 33:52Speaker 3: But we will give you as much every time as
- 33:54Speaker 3: we can because this show is about you, Texas right
- 33:57Speaker 3: now at four nine four five one, Tom's Washbar does
- 34:01Speaker 3: not disappoint. They have rolled out the goods, They've rolled
- 34:04Speaker 3: out the food. I got some carnea sat a nachos
- 34:06Speaker 3: area hit me right in the face. Al Kaniski is
- 34:09Speaker 3: about half cleaned this play. That looked pretty good and
- 34:12Speaker 3: I think it came as advertised.
- 34:13Speaker 6: Al Yeah, I just plowed through some Ahi lettuce raps
- 34:16Speaker 6: that were delicious and some golden shrimp, and I see
- 34:19Speaker 6: you've got your nachos on display.
- 34:21Speaker 1: You better be careful. There's a table over here.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I I had to kind of keep like one eye
- 34:26Speaker 3: on the text line and one eye here on the
- 34:28Speaker 3: food because this thing might grow two legs and walk off.
- 34:31Speaker 1: I fear.
- 34:31Speaker 6: Yeah, everything looks good in here, walking through a really
- 34:33Speaker 6: busy night too for a Monday.
- 34:36Speaker 3: It is Monday, isn't it. I've lost track by now,
- 34:38Speaker 3: I've lost track, but it seems just like a Saturday,
- 34:41Speaker 3: because this is basically how packed it was two nights
- 34:44Speaker 3: ago in the Kraken lost and overtime here to the
- 34:46Speaker 3: New York Rangers, and now we're talking about a win
- 34:49Speaker 3: over the Chicago Blackhawks. So again Tom's washbar of the place,
- 34:52Speaker 3: Come on down, hang out, massive screens all over wall
- 34:55Speaker 3: to wall, food, friends, vibes, beverages, carnea, set of non schows.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I think that you clean on some ah tuna tacos
- 35:03Speaker 3: as well, and some fried strimp on top of that.
- 35:06Speaker 6: Absolutely, I mean, delicious meal at ten twelve at night
- 35:11Speaker 6: can't go wrong.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Hey, you know what, sometimes we're we're not usually running
- 35:14Speaker 3: all over the place, but our masks do like the
- 35:16Speaker 3: lock and forest here, so you have to kind of
- 35:17Speaker 3: feed the beast.
- 35:18Speaker 13: Late.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Hey, I just ran over here, so I burned count
- 35:21Speaker 1: get it here you did?
- 35:22Speaker 3: I think that that that watch is burning up right now,
- 35:24Speaker 3: the smart watch on your rest. Three to one, crack
- 35:27Speaker 3: and went over Chicago again four nine four five one
- 35:30Speaker 3: on the KJR text lining. Again, we're hoping to get
- 35:32Speaker 3: to some more reaction back at Climbing Pledge Erna. But
- 35:34Speaker 3: in the meantime we're going to get to yours as
- 35:36Speaker 3: well four nine four or five one on the KJR
- 35:39Speaker 3: text line in just a bit. But I could want
- 35:41Speaker 3: to kind of get into the meat of this here,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and I think for tonight the theme was it took
- 35:46Speaker 3: a while to get going, but eventually foot would hit
- 35:50Speaker 3: gas pedal late in the second period and end of
- 35:53Speaker 3: the third. And the big question I think for me
- 35:55Speaker 3: was could the crack and play a sustained clean game.
- 35:58Speaker 3: It wasn't exactly a work of art, and this is
- 36:01Speaker 3: gonna be a team that wins a ton of low
- 36:03Speaker 3: event hockey. And there's six wins. They've only had five
- 36:07Speaker 3: that had been decided by two goals or less. As well,
- 36:09Speaker 3: Tonight was no exception. This is what you had to
- 36:12Speaker 3: I think expect your for this season. But period three
- 36:16Speaker 3: they made the adjustments and it made they made it.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Also it looked pretty clean.
- 36:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I think that the Craken got off
- 36:21Speaker 6: to a better start tonight than the Ranger game. The
- 36:24Speaker 6: internight ten shots on goal in the first period. They
- 36:27Speaker 6: gave up a penalty to a Chicago, but they went
- 36:29Speaker 6: perfect on it, not giving up a power play goal.
- 36:32Speaker 1: So as far as clean goes, better start ten.
- 36:34Speaker 6: Shots on goal, not giving up a goal to Chicago
- 36:37Speaker 6: in the first period, but not getting one either. And
- 36:40Speaker 6: as you said, it wasn't until about that three minute
- 36:42Speaker 6: of the second period where Jamie Alexiak put just a
- 36:45Speaker 6: shot on net.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Like it was that mindset that you didn't see last game.
- 36:49Speaker 6: Get pucks to the net, get pucks to the net,
- 36:51Speaker 6: that puck comes back to him, he floats one towards
- 36:54Speaker 6: the end.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Jamie, that was.
- 36:55Speaker 6: A floater of a shot, but there were multi levels
- 36:58Speaker 6: of screens in front and ultimately made it hard for
- 37:01Speaker 6: Suder Bloom to saving the crack and find themselves up
- 37:03Speaker 6: and one nothing on that goal.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Jamie Alexiak gets his second goal of his career against
- 37:07Speaker 3: Chicago's second as well of the season. Maddy Beneers would
- 37:11Speaker 3: follow on a power play goal Jordan Eberly a big
- 37:15Speaker 3: pressure relieving goal as well in period three to put
- 37:18Speaker 3: away Chicago. But I want to go back here to
- 37:20Speaker 3: the Alexiad goal. If you're going through Berkeley Catton's mind
- 37:24Speaker 3: right now, you're thinking so close, so close, because he
- 37:28Speaker 3: put himself right place, right time.
- 37:30Speaker 6: Well, And that's the thing too, is that I was
- 37:32Speaker 6: kind of hoping it was going to be his goal too,
- 37:34Speaker 6: because as good of a hockey player is, as many
- 37:37Speaker 6: points as he put up in Spokane, Yeah, gotta realize
- 37:41Speaker 6: at the NHL level, it's a lot harder, and sometimes
- 37:44Speaker 6: they got to go off the blade of your stick,
- 37:46Speaker 6: they got to go off your knee, they got to
- 37:47Speaker 6: go off your skate to get to the back of
- 37:49Speaker 6: the net. And I thought, if this is his first
- 37:51Speaker 6: one and it goes off of the blade of his
- 37:53Speaker 6: stick as a deflection, that's a good one to sit
- 37:55Speaker 6: the tone for how to score in this league. He's
- 37:57Speaker 6: gonna have his share of pretty goals, don't get me wrong,
- 38:00Speaker 6: but they're not all going to be pretty. They can't
- 38:02Speaker 6: all be pretty. And I think he's got to realize
- 38:04Speaker 6: sooner rather than later that some of them have to
- 38:07Speaker 6: go in dirty like that. And if that would have
- 38:09Speaker 6: been his goal, that would have been a great one
- 38:10Speaker 6: to kick off his career.
- 38:11Speaker 3: All right, we are going to go check back in
- 38:13Speaker 3: downstairs in just a bit, and Joey de cord is
- 38:16Speaker 3: going to be right around the corner as we'll get
- 38:17Speaker 3: to his reaction in just a little bit. As a
- 38:19Speaker 3: crack and again knock off the Chicago Blackhawks three one,
- 38:22Speaker 3: But I want to get here to the kjir text
- 38:24Speaker 3: line again, four nine four or five to one. The
- 38:26Speaker 3: crack and are in first place. They're going to go
- 38:28Speaker 3: to bed heads on pillows, first place in the Pacific Division.
- 38:32Speaker 3: There is a lot of hockey to go, but we're
- 38:34Speaker 3: seeing some positive signs out of the gate as far
- 38:37Speaker 3: as their potential. And maybe if for those who are
- 38:40Speaker 3: you know, trying to you know, look into this team's
- 38:42Speaker 3: game that covered this game well outside of the boundaries
- 38:45Speaker 3: of the PNW as well, this might come to a surprise.
- 38:48Speaker 3: But again, for many who have watched this team since
- 38:51Speaker 3: training camp, they know what Lane Lambert is all about
- 38:54Speaker 3: and his system. This is the kind of hockey that
- 38:57Speaker 3: you really have to expect here when the Lollovan kind
- 39:00Speaker 3: of games.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that you saw that.
- 39:01Speaker 6: You saw the pendulum swing back a little bit as
- 39:04Speaker 6: far as getting pucks to the net. But what you
- 39:06Speaker 6: didn't see swing anywhere was that defensive Lane Lambert structure.
- 39:10Speaker 6: You definitely saw it late in the game too, when
- 39:12Speaker 6: the crack And were up, you know, sitting up high
- 39:15Speaker 6: where we get to watch the game from, you could
- 39:16Speaker 6: see that house shape in the neutral zone where you
- 39:19Speaker 6: had two defensemen back on the blue line, you had
- 39:22Speaker 6: two forwards up on the red line, and you had
- 39:24Speaker 6: a guy at the far blue line just kind of
- 39:26Speaker 6: taking away that neutral zone.
- 39:27Speaker 1: That's that kind of.
- 39:28Speaker 6: Close out defensive structure that you know, Lane Lambert preaches
- 39:31Speaker 6: a lot, and having the discipline to play that way
- 39:34Speaker 6: when you're up a goal or two late in the
- 39:36Speaker 6: game that paid off tonight.
- 39:38Speaker 3: I'm gonna put this out there because it's getting close
- 39:42Speaker 3: to decision time for Berkeley Catton. Tonight was his seventh
- 39:47Speaker 3: game of his NHL season. Again, he can play nine
- 39:51Speaker 3: before the crack At have to decide to keep him
- 39:54Speaker 3: and start burning a year of his contract or send
- 39:57Speaker 3: him back to the WAHL, and he can only go
- 40:00Speaker 3: there aside from a conditioning stint to Ahl Coachellow Valley,
- 40:03Speaker 3: And that's very small as far as the window. But
- 40:06Speaker 3: the contract would not kick in then until this next season.
- 40:10Speaker 3: So there are still plenty of eighteen nineteen year olds
- 40:14Speaker 3: hanging around in this league, and Catton is becoming more
- 40:17Speaker 3: of the few far in between still in this league
- 40:20Speaker 3: right now. So time is running out. But how much
- 40:23Speaker 3: more does he have to prove, I think to really
- 40:25Speaker 3: stick around here long term. We'll talk about this in
- 40:28Speaker 3: just a bit, but for now, a check back in
- 40:30Speaker 3: downstairs right across the street of Clement Pledge Arena. And
- 40:33Speaker 3: here's reaction from crack and goaltender Joey to.
- 40:35Speaker 26: Cord Juey, you spend most of the season protecting one
- 40:40Speaker 26: goal league's maybe tiger.
- 40:41Speaker 24: What's it like to have a two goalie?
- 40:43Speaker 26: What does that do as far as our goalies might
- 40:45Speaker 26: set goes maybe make.
- 40:47Speaker 24: In terms of shooting, or.
- 40:48Speaker 26: In terms of having more of a margin for aero
- 40:50Speaker 26: in terms of not having a perfect.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Well, I mean, it's always nice to have a two
- 40:53Speaker 5: goalie than one trying to close out the game.
- 40:58Speaker 24: Yeah, I don't know, shoot to shoot, so show it.
- 41:01Speaker 24: I thought I thought it was in.
- 41:03Speaker 5: I said myself, it's in, because when it was in
- 41:05Speaker 5: the air it was it was dead center. And then
- 41:06Speaker 5: I didn't I couldn't see their guy behind the further guy,
- 41:09Speaker 5: behind the middle guy. So I was like, oh, I
- 41:11Speaker 5: cleared everybody, and then I saw him stop it and
- 41:13Speaker 5: I was so round.
- 41:14Speaker 24: But I'll keep shit. Two goals. It's just a full
- 41:20Speaker 24: send for you at that point too. Goal lead, you
- 41:21Speaker 24: know you're full we send. No, it's not necessarily about
- 41:23Speaker 24: the goal lead. It's more about the situation, right.
- 41:28Speaker 18: Like.
- 41:29Speaker 5: When you're behind the net and you're kind of facing
- 41:31Speaker 5: the glass and maybe it's a slower rim and you
- 41:33Speaker 5: don't have as much time or there's a four checker
- 41:35Speaker 5: on you, you know. I mean, in that situation, it
- 41:37Speaker 5: was a harder rim. So I got it with more
- 41:39Speaker 5: time and got my head up.
- 41:43Speaker 24: I had a lane, so I just ripped it.
- 41:45Speaker 26: How about when you get that two goal lead like
- 41:47Speaker 26: seven minutes out of the second period, then you to
- 41:49Speaker 26: have it all the way through the third? Is that
- 41:52Speaker 26: change anything as far as as your approach goes?
- 41:55Speaker 24: Yeah. I think leading is always nice because then you
- 41:57Speaker 24: can kind of dictate your game. I mean, you know
- 42:00Speaker 24: it was.
- 42:01Speaker 5: It was a great effort in the first period to
- 42:03Speaker 5: come out well and start well, and then you know,
- 42:06Speaker 5: obviously the voice capitalized the second period and and just
- 42:08Speaker 5: build from there. You know, they obviously got one, made
- 42:11Speaker 5: it close, and I thought it was a great response
- 42:13Speaker 5: from our group.
- 42:14Speaker 24: You know, I thought we played an excellent third.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Period outside or just the one, the one uh you know,
- 42:18Speaker 5: chance they got there that went in, and you know,
- 42:21Speaker 5: they made a nice place.
- 42:22Speaker 24: So credit to them. It's good team. We're gonna make
- 42:23Speaker 24: good plays. And we bounced back back. We bounced back
- 42:26Speaker 24: well from that.
- 42:27Speaker 18: And then right away, when you're facing a former teammate
- 42:31Speaker 18: like Burakowsky, do you spend those fractions of a second
- 42:35Speaker 18: anytime thinking this is what he's done where he shot
- 42:39Speaker 18: in practice, or this is where I've gotten him in practice?
- 42:44Speaker 24: Maybe a little bit.
- 42:45Speaker 5: The game happens so fast sometimes that it's hard to
- 42:47Speaker 5: be like, oh, okay, that's Ricky, He's gonna shoot here.
- 42:50Speaker 5: You know, it was kind of a bang bang play
- 42:51Speaker 5: next to you know, he's all in front of the
- 42:52Speaker 5: net and you're just trying to make a read and
- 42:54Speaker 5: make a save.
- 42:56Speaker 24: You know, that one found its way in, but you know,
- 42:58Speaker 24: we got the win, so it's supportant. Actually, twelve games
- 43:01Speaker 24: in the season, you guys have six, two and four.
- 43:03Speaker 24: What do you just kind of make gave of your
- 43:04Speaker 24: start overall and kind of the way you guys are playing. Uh,
- 43:07Speaker 24: I'm pomped. Honestly, I'm pomped.
- 43:08Speaker 5: I I had a feeling before the season that we
- 43:10Speaker 5: were gonna get off to a good start, and I
- 43:12Speaker 5: think we have a lot of belief in our in
- 43:13Speaker 5: our room here that we have a good group, you know,
- 43:16Speaker 5: coaching staff, all the guys. Everyone's been really dialed.
- 43:19Speaker 24: In to start the year. And and I'm Pomped's fun. Winning's fun.
- 43:23Speaker 5: You know, last last two seasons, we we haven't won
- 43:25Speaker 5: as much as we wanted to. So, you know, we
- 43:28Speaker 5: put ourselves in a good spot here to start the year,
- 43:29Speaker 5: and we just need to keep growing and keep building
- 43:31Speaker 5: our game and keep getting better. Cause as season goes on,
- 43:34Speaker 5: everyone's getting better. So you know we can't we can't,
- 43:37Speaker 5: you know, rest on.
- 43:38Speaker 24: Our laurelds here. We need to move forward and keep
- 43:40Speaker 24: keep building your name. When do you attribute this excitement too?
- 43:42Speaker 24: When you said you're fired up, pumped? Winning's fun? Winning's fun. Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 24: it's great. When do you attribute this winning street or
- 43:48Speaker 24: just this uh hot start, this positive momentum.
- 43:51Speaker 5: I think it's just a commitment from the group and
- 43:54Speaker 5: and commitment to playing our game and executing our game
- 43:58Speaker 5: plan the way we have to play to win, and
- 44:00Speaker 5: we have a set brand of It's very clear. The
- 44:03Speaker 5: coaches have made it very clear how we need to
- 44:04Speaker 5: play to win games, and we're doing it.
- 44:06Speaker 24: I mean we've played how many games, twelve? We have
- 44:09Speaker 24: points in ten? Pretty good.
- 44:14Speaker 3: That's goaltender Joey to Cord with the reaction again downstairs
- 44:17Speaker 3: at Climbing Pledge Arena. The cracking and Joey Decord might
- 44:20Speaker 3: be as hot as the hellipanios on my nachos Right
- 44:22Speaker 3: now here at Tom's watch Bar plug as well for
- 44:25Speaker 3: here at Tom's watch Bar, Mike Benton al Kaniski cracking
- 44:28Speaker 3: win three to one over Chicago. Andre Burakowski also welcome
- 44:32Speaker 3: back to Seattle. You have figured that he was pretty
- 44:34Speaker 3: fired up for this game, and he eventually find his
- 44:36Speaker 3: way on the score sheet with a third period goal.
- 44:39Speaker 3: But it would only matter just for one goal for Chicago,
- 44:42Speaker 3: as Joey Decord nearly parking an empty net goal. You
- 44:46Speaker 3: figure it's going to come one of these days.
- 44:48Speaker 6: I mean, he had the as he said, he had
- 44:51Speaker 6: the right situation, the right rim behind the net, He
- 44:53Speaker 6: was on his forehand coming around the side, He had
- 44:56Speaker 6: the right elevation. He just want he needed one more
- 44:59Speaker 6: bounce from that pocket, and it was going in there.
- 45:01Speaker 3: There's a group that has a great game around here.
- 45:04Speaker 3: It's called Oops All Goalies and has caught Joey Decord's attention.
- 45:07Speaker 3: He approaches this game like a Ford but in essence
- 45:11Speaker 3: it really helps I think his ability to replays and
- 45:15Speaker 3: be a puck distributor because it's so important here for
- 45:18Speaker 3: the krack and and their breakout game kind of life.
- 45:20Speaker 3: They have a third guy back there trying to feed
- 45:23Speaker 3: the attack.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 45:24Speaker 6: I mean as a defense, when you come back and
- 45:26Speaker 6: you know that you can get a fifty foot pass
- 45:29Speaker 6: from him tape to tape, you don't necessarily have to
- 45:32Speaker 6: go behind the net to pick the puck up. So
- 45:34Speaker 6: it's like having a third defenseman back there. As a forward,
- 45:37Speaker 6: when you're at the far blue line, he can hit
- 45:39Speaker 6: you with that pass if you're open. So it it
- 45:42Speaker 6: absolutely changes from a five man unit on the ice
- 45:45Speaker 6: with a goaltender to a six man unit on the
- 45:48Speaker 6: ice when he's got the.
- 45:49Speaker 3: Puck again, Kracking win three one over the Blackhawks. Mike
- 45:52Speaker 3: Benton Alkaniski back across the street here at Tom's watch
- 45:55Speaker 3: bar and let's go to the kJ air Tex line
- 45:57Speaker 3: of four nine four or five to one again. I
- 45:59Speaker 3: want to here, how satisfied are you right now with
- 46:02Speaker 3: the Kraken and their game at this point of the season,
- 46:06Speaker 3: ending it this evening first place in the Pacific Division
- 46:09Speaker 3: four nine four or five to one. How satisfied are
- 46:12Speaker 3: you right now of this team's game? From the five
- 46:15Speaker 3: to ZO three saying seeing the Krack and at the
- 46:17Speaker 3: top of the division is amazing. I know it's too
- 46:20Speaker 3: early for it to mean a lot, but also would
- 46:22Speaker 3: have been hard to imagine this well last season. It
- 46:25Speaker 3: feels very, very promising two oh six saying that I'm
- 46:29Speaker 3: happy with whether the Kraken are right now more wins
- 46:32Speaker 3: always good that from the two to OHO six and
- 46:34Speaker 3: the four to two five is saying, any day of
- 46:36Speaker 3: the Big Rig gets a goal, it's a good day.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Satisfactions ten to ten here for this game and could
- 46:41Speaker 3: only get better. Maybe if Joey had that goal as well.
- 46:45Speaker 3: That from the four to two five. Let's go to
- 46:48Speaker 3: the Berkeley caton topic here and tonight seventh game, and again,
- 46:53Speaker 3: the Kraken can play him as much as nine before
- 46:56Speaker 3: his contract kicks and then it would have to decide
- 46:58Speaker 3: to keep him or send him back to the WHL
- 47:01Speaker 3: if they don't want to have that contract, which is
- 47:03Speaker 3: a three year deal, kick in until this next season.
- 47:07Speaker 3: But Berkeley Catton tonight, seven minutes and seven seconds of
- 47:11Speaker 3: ice time, had one shot on net. So I think
- 47:14Speaker 3: the question from now is what to expect for maybe
- 47:16Speaker 3: these last two games.
- 47:17Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I'll say what I've been saying all
- 47:19Speaker 6: along is Berkeley Catton is a fantastic hockey player.
- 47:22Speaker 1: He can play in the NHL.
- 47:24Speaker 6: But because the Kraken had some injury problems early on
- 47:27Speaker 6: in the season, I think that's the reason why you're
- 47:29Speaker 6: seeing him play so much. I think had the Kraken
- 47:32Speaker 6: been healthy, he might not have this many games under
- 47:35Speaker 6: his belt, but he does because of that. Now the
- 47:38Speaker 6: question is, when Jared McCann gets healthy again, is Berkeley
- 47:43Speaker 6: Catton still in the lineup. I don't know, not my decision,
- 47:47Speaker 6: but I think he's played well enough to be an
- 47:49Speaker 6: NHL player. I don't think he's played well enough to
- 47:52Speaker 6: take away a job from somebody on the crack and
- 47:55Speaker 6: roster if they're healthy again.
- 47:58Speaker 3: I want to hear from your friends four nine, four
- 47:59Speaker 3: or five one? Where you feeling right now about the
- 48:02Speaker 3: Berkeley Caton situation? Stay or does he need more seasoning
- 48:06Speaker 3: back in the WHL here for this year? Four nine
- 48:08Speaker 3: four five one. Well, let's you shime in here. Let's
- 48:11Speaker 3: step aside. Though. After this we're gonna hear from more
- 48:14Speaker 3: reaction from krackenhead coach Lane Lambert. After the Kraken knocking
- 48:18Speaker 3: off the Chicago Blackhawks three to one. They are still
- 48:21Speaker 3: unbeaten at home and regulation this season at four to
- 48:24Speaker 3: zero and two and the record six two and four.
- 48:28Speaker 3: They have taken over first place in the Pacific Division.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Back after this on Talking Kraken a ninety three to

- 51:06Speaker 3: and aim for an unbeaten run in regulation in this
- 51:10Speaker 3: five game stretch at home, they'll take on San Jose
- 51:14Speaker 3: coming up on Wednesday again, Friends, Texas right now, four nine,
- 51:17Speaker 3: four or five one is all? And I right back
- 51:19Speaker 3: here at Tom's watch bar right across from Climate Pledgerina
- 51:23Speaker 3: check it in reaction via Twitter and X and I
- 51:25Speaker 3: get one here from Tyler Olsen saying love the response
- 51:28Speaker 3: right now out of the gate after a port showing
- 51:30Speaker 3: Saturday Lane Lambert's got a pulse on this team. The
- 51:33Speaker 3: kids are playing well, Tyler believing Berkeley caton Yonni Newman
- 51:37Speaker 3: looked like NH Shellers. But none of this happens if
- 51:40Speaker 3: Joey isn't Mega dialed in to bail his team out.
- 51:44Speaker 3: After a few breakdowns from Tyler on Twitter and.
- 51:47Speaker 6: X, absolutely, I mean that's been a key part of
- 51:49Speaker 6: these points in ten of twelve games, is Joey Decord's
- 51:53Speaker 6: had to come up with some big games to put
- 51:55Speaker 6: them in that position. You know, He's not the only reason,
- 51:58Speaker 6: but he's a big part of that reason. They're a
- 52:00Speaker 6: big part of that reason. Last three games, the power
- 52:02Speaker 6: play has been fantastic. Yeah, three for seven and I'm
- 52:05Speaker 6: not a math guy, but I think that's forty two
- 52:07Speaker 6: point eight percent all round up to forty three percent.
- 52:09Speaker 3: I was just like Everett as well. I was more
- 52:11Speaker 3: of an English guy than the math guy coming out.
- 52:13Speaker 3: But hey, power play goals three straight games. Pretty good
- 52:16Speaker 3: man so far. No absolutely stretched.
- 52:18Speaker 6: And then on the other side of the equation tonight
- 52:21Speaker 6: the penalty.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Killed going three for three.
- 52:23Speaker 6: You don't love to see that many penalties in the game,
- 52:26Speaker 6: especially from a discipline team like the Kracking, but they
- 52:29Speaker 6: gave Chicago three power plays and killed off all three
- 52:32Speaker 6: of them.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Reaction from the handle s Bellman five to two three,
- 52:35Speaker 3: great bounce back and pause for dramatic effect. I'm a Laniac.
- 52:40Speaker 3: I'm a Laniac. That is a fantastic moniker from s
- 52:44Speaker 3: Bellman five to two three.
- 52:46Speaker 1: You're gonna sing that for a second. I'm a Laniac.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Lad, No, no, just making perfect segue here. Let's check
- 52:53Speaker 3: back in downstairs with Cracking head coach Lane Lambert.
- 53:01Speaker 18: H.
- 53:10Speaker 29: Coach, I thought the best, the best uh uh thing
- 53:17Speaker 29: about the game for the crack and I was the
- 53:20Speaker 29: third period when after giving up fifteen shots in the
- 53:25Speaker 29: middle period, you didn't allow Chicago even one for more
- 53:30Speaker 29: than eight minutes to start the period. Where where does
- 53:33Speaker 29: that rank on the list of things you liked about
- 53:35Speaker 29: the game?
- 53:37Speaker 9: It ranks pretty high.
- 53:40Speaker 29: Uh.
- 53:40Speaker 30: You know, the second period was a little bit of
- 53:42Speaker 30: a challenge because you know, we took some penalties. Uh,
- 53:46Speaker 30: so we were killing so you know, they had some
- 53:49Speaker 30: shot attempts and some shots on goal in those situations.
- 53:52Speaker 24: So you you.
- 53:53Speaker 30: Can't be overly uh you know, you gotta keep everything
- 53:56Speaker 30: into a little bit of perspective. But certainly, uh, I
- 53:59Speaker 30: agree with you. You know, we played solid in the
- 54:03Speaker 30: third period and outshot them in the third period when
- 54:07Speaker 30: you know, in in going into the period up and
- 54:10Speaker 30: when they scored a goal, we didn't sit back, and
- 54:13Speaker 30: uh you know, obviously Everly had another huge goal for
- 54:16Speaker 30: us to give us some I guess what you'd call
- 54:19Speaker 30: breathing room, and you know we're able to finish it
- 54:22Speaker 30: off in regulation.
- 54:23Speaker 29: And if the Alexiac goal isn't the world's best advertisement for.
- 54:29Speaker 18: Sometimes just put shots on the net because who knows
- 54:32Speaker 18: what's gonna happen.
- 54:33Speaker 30: I don't know what is Well, that's what we talked about.
- 54:35Speaker 30: We've been talking about that. We you know, will continue
- 54:38Speaker 30: to talk about that. And you know, if you if
- 54:40Speaker 30: you put a puck to the net, it always has
- 54:42Speaker 30: an opportunity to go in.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Are hand, Hilton Regan, So raise your handing of a
- 54:47Speaker 2: question and protect.
- 54:51Speaker 25: Yeah, wh when you've seen Jordan play for a long
- 54:55Speaker 25: long time.
- 54:55Speaker 19: It just his creativity, his ability to make a pass
- 54:58Speaker 19: like that to set up Natti's coming.
- 55:01Speaker 24: Off the injury had last year. What is what kind
- 55:03Speaker 24: of signing to you?
- 55:04Speaker 25: And still the fact he can still do things like
- 55:07Speaker 25: that at this point.
- 55:08Speaker 30: Yeah, great captain. You know, having missed the amount of
- 55:12Speaker 30: time he missed last year, it's a testament to him
- 55:14Speaker 30: and his character, you know, getting himself ready for this
- 55:21Speaker 30: year and and having the start that he's had. And
- 55:24Speaker 30: you know, he has the ability to make plays. He's
- 55:27Speaker 30: got great hands, he's got terrific vision, he's got a
- 55:29Speaker 30: good uh good hockey mind. So uh it's not only offensively,
- 55:34Speaker 30: Uh you watch him in the defensive zone and his
- 55:36Speaker 30: positioning and you know he plays two hundred foot game.
- 55:42Speaker 24: Uh, solid as Joe's for you guys this year.
- 55:48Speaker 30: Yeah, he uh, he played well and he made saves
- 55:51Speaker 30: when we when we needed him to.
- 55:53Speaker 24: Again.
- 55:54Speaker 30: That team over there there, they've got some offensive talent
- 55:57Speaker 30: as you can as you can see. Uh, you know,
- 56:01Speaker 30: we were a little loose on a couple of occasions.
- 56:03Speaker 30: Certainly in the first period we gave up a couple
- 56:05Speaker 30: of you know, good opportunities in the slot, which we
- 56:10Speaker 30: haven't really done and and you know, was uncharacteristic of
- 56:14Speaker 30: us a little bit. But certainly, uh, you know, he
- 56:16Speaker 30: made some good saves tonight and played well.
- 56:19Speaker 24: Pe yep.
- 56:22Speaker 13: Seemed like there was a kind of last that changed
- 56:24Speaker 13: put Caten into night maybe over bid Myers.
- 56:26Speaker 20: Was there anything that fed into that decision or was
- 56:28Speaker 20: it just how.
- 56:29Speaker 24: The day played out?
- 56:31Speaker 30: Well, we think, you know it it a little bit
- 56:34Speaker 30: of how the day played out. But uh, you know,
- 56:37Speaker 30: at the end of the day, Caton has played well,
- 56:40Speaker 30: and you know, with with Yannie sitting out the last game,
- 56:45Speaker 30: we wanted to get him back in as well. And
- 56:47Speaker 30: so it's just a bit of a juggle and a
- 56:50Speaker 30: numbers game, and Caton got an opportunity early to play
- 56:53Speaker 30: center and then we moved him around a little bit
- 56:55Speaker 30: and put him on the wing a couple of times.
- 56:58Speaker 3: All right, that's crack and head coach Lane Lambert with
- 57:01Speaker 3: his reaction back at climbing pledge Erina, Mike Benton Alkaniwski
- 57:04Speaker 3: back here live in Tom's watch bar right across from
- 57:06Speaker 3: the building. And before we get to what's next here
- 57:09Speaker 3: for the crack and I want to kind of get
- 57:10Speaker 3: to more of your input and insight on this out
- 57:14Speaker 3: because Lane Lambert mentioned Berkeley Catton plane center and moving
- 57:17Speaker 3: him back here to the wing. It's tough to play
- 57:20Speaker 3: center and excel at that in the NHL. I say,
- 57:23Speaker 3: it's ofting like you have to have a degree in
- 57:24Speaker 3: passing maybe Hockey IQ four hundred to play center in
- 57:28Speaker 3: the NHL and thrive. But the biggest difference in shifting
- 57:32Speaker 3: from there to the wing for a guy like Catton as.
- 57:34Speaker 6: What yeah, I mean, your game to gets simplified on
- 57:37Speaker 6: the wing a little bit. You're responsible for typically one
- 57:41Speaker 6: particular area in the defensive zone. You're not moving from
- 57:44Speaker 6: side to side when it comes to a puck possession
- 57:47Speaker 6: of the defensive zone. You're responsible for getting to the
- 57:49Speaker 6: boards and being an outlet for that defenseman, whereas a
- 57:51Speaker 6: centerman's got to stay in motion and look for a
- 57:54Speaker 6: passing lane. So a lot more responsibilities for a centerment
- 57:58Speaker 6: and a lot more movement which can cause, you know,
- 58:00Speaker 6: good things to happen or bad things to happen.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Now we went back here to what you were talking
- 58:04Speaker 3: about earlier the numbers game here as well, and Jared
- 58:06Speaker 3: McCanns still out Freddie Gudrou that could also influence matters
- 58:09Speaker 3: here with him still trying to get back as well
- 58:12Speaker 3: from injury. But for the crack and two more games
- 58:15Speaker 3: until they have to decide what to do here at Berkeley,
- 58:17Speaker 3: Catton as far as when that contract kicks in, he
- 58:19Speaker 3: has just passed game seven now here for this NHL
- 58:24Speaker 3: season as a nineteen year old all right before we
- 58:27Speaker 3: get out up next San Jose Sharks, and it kind
- 58:30Speaker 3: of feels like maybe a sequel. Love this evening's game
- 58:33Speaker 3: and how to get ready for this kind of team,
- 58:35Speaker 3: a young and up and coming team. They've got a
- 58:39Speaker 3: bright future. It may still be years away like Chicago,
- 58:42Speaker 3: but plenty of young players that can actually frighten you.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Matpman Celebrini I think cementing himself as the next big
- 58:48Speaker 3: rising star, the real deal here in this league. He's
- 58:51Speaker 3: already had a hat trick in a five point game,
- 58:53Speaker 3: and then you had Will Smith, William Ecklin, Michael Misa,
- 58:56Speaker 3: and then maybe what they do as well, Sam Dickinson
- 58:58Speaker 3: a big part of their future, right.
- 59:00Speaker 6: And I think in the case of a Celebrini and Smith,
- 59:03Speaker 6: they're trying to, you know, work their way into a
- 59:06Speaker 6: McDavid Drysdle situation where you know they rely on each
- 59:10Speaker 6: other for setting up goals and you know, putting their
- 59:12Speaker 6: team in a position to win hockey games. So those
- 59:15Speaker 6: two can hurt you every time they're on the ice,
- 59:17Speaker 6: and you're right, they're deep in that young talent. They're
- 59:19Speaker 6: deep as far as being a fast team. And if
- 59:22Speaker 6: I'm the kraken Head coach, I'm telling my guys to
- 59:24Speaker 6: prepare for this San jose A team like you're preparing
- 59:27Speaker 6: for another game against Montreal.
- 59:28Speaker 3: They're four six and three, but among those wins and
- 59:31Speaker 3: they can put the scare in you. They beat the
- 59:33Speaker 3: Rangers six five and OT at NSG. They beat New
- 59:36Speaker 3: Jersey New Jersey at home five too. They beat Colorado
- 59:40Speaker 3: three two as well, and took a pretty good red
- 59:42Speaker 3: wing team to ot but lost three two in a shootout,
- 59:46Speaker 3: and the Kraken on Wednesday trying to improve their nine
- 59:49Speaker 3: and six all time record against the San Jose Sharks.
- 59:53Speaker 3: All right, that's all the time we have here at
- 59:55Speaker 3: Tom's Watchbar. I want to say good night as well,
- 59:57Speaker 3: and our thanks as well to Ryan Gibbons our touch.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: That's the gold director Terry Ryaner on site engineer as
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: that we'll do it for here for al Kiniski. This
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: is Mike Benton saying good night from Clement Pledge Arena
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: and Tom's Watch Bar. Thank you for joining us and
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: for your reaction all night long. Your final score once
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: again the first place Seattle Cracking three the Chicago Blackhawks one.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: This is talking Cracking on ninety three to three KJRFM.
