- 0:02Speaker 1: A list? Is it sponsored?
- 0:04Speaker 3: Uh?
- 0:05Speaker 2: No?
- 0:05Speaker 1: All right, it's Radio from Hell with another list because
- 0:09Speaker 1: people love a good list x ninety six.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I thought this was interesting.
- 0:15Speaker 3: It's things sort of seemingly normal situations that shouldn't give
- 0:20Speaker 3: gen z anxiety, but they absolutely do.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, Now gen z is what age groups?
- 0:26Speaker 2: Uh, like a late teens, twenties in there?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Okay, like my kids?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Ok okay, all right, I think, yeah, okay, driving cars?
- 0:39Speaker 4: Yeah, there there are so many people of that generation
- 0:43Speaker 4: who just do not want their drivers.
- 0:45Speaker 5: My twenty one year old child yesterday went and finally
- 0:50Speaker 5: passed the test and got a driver.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Oh, yesterday, just not interested in doing it.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I were nervous about it.
- 0:58Speaker 4: And I mean when I was I was driving when
- 1:00Speaker 4: I was fourteen because of the farm. But when I
- 1:03Speaker 4: was fifteen, I was like ready, Oh yeah, you know
- 1:06Speaker 4: I wanted that more than anything.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Well, it's freedom.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I was driving at a young age because I was
- 1:11Speaker 1: run and shine and the stuff.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I couldn't wait to get my license.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I wanted to drive too.
- 1:18Speaker 3: And but but your child not alone, though, Bill, And
- 1:24Speaker 3: part of the reason is and actually you'll see a
- 1:26Speaker 3: theme going through here. Part of the reason is so
- 1:28Speaker 3: much of their lives are lived online. Oh yeah, they're
- 1:33Speaker 3: socializing is online there. Everything happens there. You don't have
- 1:36Speaker 3: to leave the house to.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Do any of these.
- 1:38Speaker 4: But I've also got a nephew who is I want
- 1:41Speaker 4: to say, seventeen, sixteen seventeen, who's obsessed with cars and
- 1:46Speaker 4: wants nothing more than to learn how to drift.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Oh that's scary.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we're all terrified for him.
- 1:53Speaker 3: We're just convinced that the next one similarly talking on
- 1:59Speaker 3: the phone. My my daughter is having surgery in a
- 2:04Speaker 3: couple of weeks, sinus surgery, and she's been having to
- 2:08Speaker 3: make appointments doctor's appointments associated when you make a doctor appointment,
- 2:13Speaker 3: that you have to call and talk to somebody. Hi,
- 2:17Speaker 3: this is my name, this is my information. But it's
- 2:21Speaker 3: a skill that that they don't they're not super comfortable.
- 2:25Speaker 5: With my My wife is that way though, and she's
- 2:29Speaker 5: decidedly not gen z. But she hates making appointments on
- 2:35Speaker 5: the phone, hates any anything like that.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I mean, I prefer to not speak on the phone.
- 2:41Speaker 2: But it's but it's a skill, its need. It is
- 2:44Speaker 2: I need to be able to do that.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I'm not afraid of it, but I prefer to not.
- 2:49Speaker 3: But I she had to make some appointment or something,
- 2:51Speaker 3: and she said, well.
- 2:52Speaker 2: You call him like you can do it. And I
- 2:54Speaker 2: sat there with her and it was fine.
- 2:56Speaker 5: But it's I when I was in high school, I
- 3:00Speaker 5: spent hours on the phone with friends.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And just talking about nothing. You know.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Well, and so here's another one. Socializing in large groups
- 3:11Speaker 3: of people.
- 3:12Speaker 2: They are parties.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Yeah, they're called the anxious generation. They're crowds. Uh make
- 3:21Speaker 3: them nervous. A lot of them have social anxiety. I
- 3:24Speaker 3: think a lot of this might even go back to
- 3:26Speaker 3: COVID a little bit, because when you're growing up a teenager,
- 3:30Speaker 3: When we were teenagers, that's what you did. You went
- 3:33Speaker 3: and hung out with friends in person, to.
- 3:35Speaker 1: A stomp or whatever.
- 3:37Speaker 3: There was a period of a few very pivotal years
- 3:42Speaker 3: there for kids where they weren't getting together in big gro.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Part of the problem, too, is that smoking is out
- 3:48Speaker 5: of fact. You know, you don't have to do that.
- 3:52Speaker 5: You know you're smoking, you want to get together with
- 3:53Speaker 5: other smokers.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I always say, if you want to know what's going
- 3:56Speaker 4: on in your place of business, go hang out with
- 3:58Speaker 4: the smokers.
- 3:58Speaker 1: That's right.
- 3:59Speaker 4: But no, I mean I was. I still kind of
- 4:02Speaker 4: go I've always had that kind of thing. I still
- 4:04Speaker 4: go through that A lot of times. There were like, Hey,
- 4:06Speaker 4: there's a party at this club and I'm like.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You know, we have one smoker here. Do you know
- 4:11Speaker 1: who it is? Don't?
- 4:11Speaker 5: Don't say, but I don't. At work, yeah, yeah, I
- 4:16Speaker 5: can only think of one. I don't know one person.
- 4:18Speaker 5: I'll tell you off the air, okay, one person that
- 4:20Speaker 5: we work with that smoke.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Speaking of work, yeah, going to work, just going to work,
- 4:26Speaker 3: having a well, they're afraid of job.
- 4:28Speaker 1: They're afraid of work. They don't want to work hard.
- 4:31Speaker 2: But actually all of these other skills play into that.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Oh he's your job.
- 4:36Speaker 2: You have to go talk.
- 4:37Speaker 3: To somebody, you have to get in a car and
- 4:40Speaker 3: drive there. Like getting a job is that they are?
- 4:45Speaker 3: They have anxiety about it.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Now if they smoke, a lot of that anxiety would
- 4:49Speaker 5: go away.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Shouldn't have been booked the smoking Now he's now he's
- 4:56Speaker 4: thinking about it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it takes away a lot of anxiety.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Paying bills, yeah, I mean if you aren't getting a job, well.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Then then you don't have any bills.
- 5:09Speaker 2: But it's a skill.
- 5:12Speaker 3: It is, you know, if if if you're if you're
- 5:14Speaker 3: not working and you're not driving, and you're just home
- 5:18Speaker 3: mom and dad are taking care of everything.
- 5:20Speaker 5: If you're a gen z or and you're listening to this,
- 5:22Speaker 5: the best way to pay bills is get married and
- 5:25Speaker 5: then say, honey, you pay the bills.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I don't know how to do this.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I don't want to do it. You do it.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Dating to find the one. This is another one.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Is that what you're supposed to do well in dating?
- 5:38Speaker 2: It's another thing about.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Being social and being in person and being out in
- 5:43Speaker 3: the world.
- 5:45Speaker 5: There can I bum a smoke from you.
- 5:49Speaker 4: They are, but yeah, that does mean having conversations about
- 5:52Speaker 4: a lot.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Of times nothing and in person, out in the world.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I mean even if you if you meet somebody online,
- 6:01Speaker 3: which people do, if you want to have a relationship,
- 6:04Speaker 3: eventually you're gonna have to leave the house.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, maybe Maya is this hitting home this list?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yep, this is all her, she says.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Are you a smoker? You may want to learn just.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Encouraging encouraging smokes.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Start with a low targer maybe a mental no no no, no,
- 6:26Speaker 5: you don't want to go no parliament a parliament.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They have those recessful parliament.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Light shopping not not online shopping. Again, like these are
- 6:38Speaker 3: like going out, going to the grocery store.
- 6:40Speaker 2: In the store, they have anxiety about it.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I hate shopping, Is that right, Maya, No, you don't have.
- 6:46Speaker 1: This is the one that you don't have a problem with.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Let's see going to school. So many of these are
- 6:53Speaker 3: about being out in the world, like, yeah, going, they
- 6:57Speaker 3: have anxiety about going to school.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And the finally one is family gatherings.
- 7:05Speaker 5: Well, I well, if you're that in that age group
- 7:08Speaker 5: you hate everybody in your family.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I'm I'm in the same your situation.
- 7:14Speaker 5: I think most gen z. I mean when I was
- 7:16Speaker 5: that age, I hated everyone in my family. Yeah, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 5: you come back to it though you do, I still
- 7:25Speaker 5: hate them.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Oh, well, there's one there's one side of the family
- 7:29Speaker 4: that I hate.
- 7:29Speaker 2: There's always one side. There's a good side.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 3: That's one of the comedians that I love Corey Forrester.
- 7:36Speaker 3: He talks about you have two grandmas, and you have
- 7:40Speaker 3: the good grandma and the bad grandma, and the good

- 8:36Speaker 5: could buy singles and play chess with Rod Decker When
- 8:39Speaker 5: I was yea, when I was trying to when I
