laced up let's go it's time for better with the
• 0:04
boys welcome back to banter with the boys week
• 0:16
eight tent talk uh this is i'm sorry well this
• 0:20
is this is week eight gridiron updates to talk
• 0:23
excuse me Spanner with the boys week eight doesn't
• 0:27
tell us anything. But, yeah, our tent talk where
• 0:30
we talk our injuries and news, you know, after
• 0:34
week eight of the NFL. So, Rob. Hello. Hello.
• 0:38
Actually, technically, Kev, just for title purposes,
• 0:40
this is week nine tent talk, FYI. I'm just talking.
• 0:45
Rob's here, our co -host. What's up? Yep, he
• 0:48
already said hi. Dan, back for another episode.
• 0:51
What's going on? What's up? Our resident Vikings
• 0:54
fan as well. Oh, yeah. It is. Skull to the bowl.
• 0:57
That's all we got around here. Bringing all the
• 0:58
good -looking guy out, man. That's all we got
• 1:00
around here. Our female audience already. We
• 1:01
know it, baby. We have Daniel on here. Oh, probably.
• 1:03
Yeah, probably. We at least got like three or
• 1:05
four more people. Absolutely. Kev behind the
• 1:08
camera, of course, is always getting everything
• 1:10
done for us. Let's see. The injuries that started
• 1:13
off. I mean, Scadaboo. Did you guys see that?
• 1:15
Yeah, buddy. Yeah. That was real tough. That
• 1:18
was pretty nasty. Fun to watch. Stuff like that.
• 1:21
Oh, yeah. Fun to watch. Some of the jokes are
• 1:23
wild. Like. Right on the top. Yeah, I had one.
• 1:31
Right on the tip of my tongue. But there was
• 1:33
one about Cam Scadaboo. Pretty much being the
• 1:39
definition of CTE, there's a bunch of those.
• 1:41
There's one really good one. Well, like bad one,
• 1:44
but it was really good. It's like, oh, my God.
• 1:46
It makes sense. This dude throws his body on
• 1:49
the line. I'm going to mention here, you can
• 1:51
kind of see we got a pulled up Big Dom from the
• 1:53
Phillies Eagles team. Came to the hospital with
• 1:57
pizza and Philly cheesesteaks for him and his
• 2:01
family. So that's pretty awesome. That's a pretty
• 2:02
cool move from the visiting team. Oh, yeah, yeah,
• 2:05
yeah. He got some hate on the pod a couple years
• 2:07
back. Oh, yeah. After that incident. Yeah, yeah.
• 2:09
Who was that with? Greenlaw? Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
• 2:12
I guess the 49ers on the sideline. I remember
• 2:14
that. I got to go back and listen to that episode
• 2:16
now. I can't remember. And you two all should,
• 2:19
too. Yeah. Oh, for sure. Might as well. Hey,
• 2:21
yeah. They're all out there still. If you want
• 2:23
to watch a historic banter with the boys. Historic.
• 2:27
Look at you. There it is. Go back and check those
• 2:30
out. Anyway, keep it going. Jayden Daniels expected
• 2:32
to return to practice tomorrow. Again, today's
• 2:35
Tuesday, so he's looking to come back tomorrow.
• 2:39
Maybe is he going to play by Sunday? We'll see.
• 2:42
TBD. Ed Oliver, defensive tackle for Buffalo,
• 2:46
is out indefinitely with torn biceps. Oh, no.
• 2:50
That's going to really hurt that defense. Yeah,
• 2:51
that sucks. I thought you were going to. say
• 2:55
something about it hurting him or something.
• 2:56
I was like, geez. No, no, no. That does sound
• 2:59
like it. Get your mind back on the football field.
• 3:01
I know. I'm sorry. Carson Wentz done for the
• 3:04
season after suffering torn labrum and a fractured
• 3:08
socket. Again, maybe have injured it in the London
• 3:12
game and may have kept playing with the injury,
• 3:15
but now has had surgery and is done for the season.
• 3:18
J .J. McCarthy expected to start against the
• 3:21
Detroit Lions. All right, this is it for that.
• 3:26
That's it. Joe Flacco and Trey Hendrickson both
• 3:29
listed as day -to -day for the Bengals. If it's
• 3:34
not Joe Flacco, is it going to be Jake Browning
• 3:36
again, I'd reckon? Yeah, I mean, that's probably
• 3:38
the only quarterback. I think that's all they
• 3:40
got left, right? Yeah, yeah. Let's see. Safety
• 3:43
for Pittsburgh, Deshaun Elliott went down with
• 3:46
a significant knee injury as well as their guard,
• 3:49
Isaac. I'm going to butcher that. Samalo, maybe,
• 3:53
with a significant pectoral injury. No timetable
• 3:58
for either of those guys yet at the moment. Any
• 4:01
other injuries that you guys? I mean, you got
• 4:04
Bryce Young still with that high ankle sprain.
• 4:06
Still battling. And then Penix Jr., we got to
• 4:11
see. Yeah, Kirk Cousins got a start this past
• 4:12
weekend. Didn't look good. Didn't look good at
• 4:14
all. I guess Nico Collins, that concussion. Then
• 4:19
also A .J. Brown, hamstring. We'll see whether
• 4:23
he gets back. And then I think I got Swift with
• 4:26
a grip. injury. We talked a little bit about
• 4:28
Purdy with his limited practice time and status
• 4:33
is still uncertain for week 9. That's all I got.
• 4:38
Pacheco was week to week with the MCL sprain
• 4:40
and then it says Lamar Jackson's injury report
• 4:45
changed. Was he playing? I know he started practicing.
• 4:50
That's kind of what I got here. AI information.
• 4:55
We'll see. On your AI information. Fair enough.
• 4:58
I love AI. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I like AI, too. They
• 5:02
  can probably be a 10 -7, 11 -6 team if he does
• 5:05
come back. I really do. They can definitely go
• 5:07
on a run. They're the team to buy in on that.
• 5:10
Well, they need to. And that division is capable
• 5:13
of them still, you know, even at 10 -7 right
• 5:16
now. Can probably win it. They could possibly
• 5:18
still get you in the playoffs. I agree. The only
• 5:22
real news that I have right now, I think this
• 5:25
was either this morning or yesterday, whatever,
• 5:27
Keon White, defensive end for the Patriots, got
• 5:32
traded with a 26 -7th round pick to the Niners
• 5:35
  for a 26 -6th rounder. I didn't know much about...
• 5:40
Kyle Duggar, I think. Yeah, just like an hour
• 5:44
ago, Kyle Duggar just got traded as well. But
• 5:46
where'd he go? The Steelers, right? Safety? Yep,
• 5:48
he went to the Steelers. Oh, excuse me. Wait,
• 5:54
it says traded Keyon White and Kyle Duggar to
• 5:56
bolster defenses elsewhere. Yeah, so White, I
• 6:01
know, went to the Niners. I think Duggar went
• 6:03
to the Steelers because that just happened. And
• 6:08
there was that other trade with the Tennessee
• 6:09
cornerback, McCurry. Yeah, Duggar went to the
• 6:13
Steelers. To the Rams. That was an earlier trade,
• 6:17
I think, maybe earlier Monday, or is that late
• 6:20
last week? I can't remember when I last saw that
• 6:22
one. But that's all I really – Hot seats for
• 6:27
coaches is the kind of thing I was thinking about
• 6:29
because we're starting to get that midseason
• 6:31
scenario. Mike Daniels is probably top on the
• 6:36
list, or were you guys feeling on any of the
• 6:38
coaches right now? He did get a win this weekend,
• 6:40
so that's a plus. Kind of saved maybe his job.
• 6:43
He's got to beat the Ravens this weekend then.
• 6:48
And the other one I think is probably Jonathan
• 6:49
Gannon down in Arizona. Just kind of that scenario
• 6:52
with the contact with the player. The season's
• 6:55
kind of going downwards. Is that another coach
• 6:59
that might be moving? Zach Taylor I don't really
• 7:02
see, especially with burrow outs. Aaron Glenn
• 7:05
first year. They're probably going to at least
• 7:07
give him another. The owner of the Jets, what
• 7:10
is his name, Woody, whatever. He said that he
• 7:12
supports Glenn, and he's there for at least next
• 7:16
season. Oh, yeah. He came down on. I love the
• 7:19
fact that he didn't announce a starting quarterback
• 7:21
to the day of a game that just actually shows
• 7:23
like his. his experience and his value as a head
• 7:27
coach. That's actually really smart. And the
• 7:29
Jets aren't an easy organization to turn around
• 7:32
overnight. We know they're snake -bitten. We
• 7:35
know they're kind of cursed for multiple years.
• 7:39
They're the longest team with a playoff drought,
• 7:42
so it's going to take a lot to turn it around
• 7:43
there. But, yeah, like you said, first year,
• 7:47
he'll definitely be back in a prove -it role
• 7:49
for sure. But, yeah, Jonathan Gannon sucks. Because,
• 7:54
you know, like the hitting the player, yeah,
• 7:55
it sucks. But at the same time, it's like that's
• 7:58
great passion. You know he cares. He wants to
• 8:00
do great with that team. They're in a tough division,
• 8:03
so it stinks that way too. Marvin Harrison's
• 8:06
dropping balls left and right, so it's like.
• 8:09
Yeah, he's in a little bit of a weird. A pickle
• 8:11
for sure. Slump, yeah. And the only other coach
• 8:14
I kind of had was Dayball and the Giants, you
• 8:16
know. Yeah. He's 11 -31 since the last time they
• 8:19
were in the playoffs. And that's back in Danny
• 8:22
Dimes had, you know, brought him to the playoffs
• 8:24
a few years ago. So what are you saying with
• 8:28
that Scababoo and then the neighbors being out
• 8:30
for the year? You know, if they finish, you know,
• 8:33
four and starting a rookie quarterback a few
• 8:37
weeks in. Yeah, there's a couple of things there.
• 8:39
I don't know. He's still on the hot seat for
• 8:41
me, for sure. So. But that's all I really have
• 8:45
for the hot Cedars. Yeah, not a lot in general
• 8:48
news -wise going on around the league. Which
• 8:52
is good news. Other than our friend that should
• 8:56
be up for Hall of Fame this year. AP keeps hunting
• 9:00
his way into the news. That's for sure. Come
• 9:04
on, man. Come on, man. He should be in the Hall
• 9:07
of Fame this year. He should be shacked in a
• 9:09
four. Anyway, that will do it for the 10 Talk
• 9:17
this week. Nothing too crazy going on. Dan, Rob,
• 9:20
thank you, fellas, both being here. Of course.
