- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans welcome in to do wall daily presented by Jin Jack dot com i'm Jordan alluga thanks so much for being here sunday august seventeen your jacksonville jack wars in a dramatic finish against the neural and saints tied they tied in the preseason seventeen seventeen after having a commanding lead earlier in the game the jack wars backups fell to the saints backups late in the game and it was pretty wild you know you had
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Late.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: Spencer Rattler throws an interception.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Kenny H. Lovely, who was just signed by the Jaguar, is not very long ago due to injuries at the corner back position.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Makes a play on the ball, gets an interception, has a nice return.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars are set up very nicely, but then you see the Jags kind of fall apart.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: And they even had an opportunity to go down and get a Camlittle kick.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: After the Saints have their drive and didn't go slaughter, just keeps getting targeted and targeted and targeted and not being able to make the play.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack still get the ball with twenty-one seconds left and three time outs and Camlittle, the ultimate weapon to try to win the football game.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Todd seventeen seventeen and all you got to do is make a field goal in the game and and again comes out and you know what a horrible position the Jaguar is putting in again in like he didn't didn't play the whole game and then that's the that's the spot you throw them in and comes out
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: gets a dime down the field to Quentin Morris, who has been a late game hero for the Jaguars, the last couple weeks, Quentin Morris, good for him, right?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: You get down into Cam Little Field goal range, and then you still have time outs, I understand wanting to potentially get a little bit closer.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: My thought process though was like, you got nine seconds on the clock, you got your time outs, kneel it, get it into a spot where you feel good, call the timeout,
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: couple seconds left on the clock.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: Now the field goal, go home.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: Game over.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you really wanted to get closer, I mean, you can run the ball.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you have the timeouts.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: Run the ball if you want to get a little closer.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: Throwing it makes no sense in that situation, especially with a quarterback who hasn't played all game.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, you, you needed to throw right to get into the field goal range.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Once you're in field goal range, you don't need to throw anymore.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: So we talked about it this week with James Gladstone and talking about how they were doing.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: Made some mistakes in week one, but they kind of want to be situational masters and he thought that they did a good job of that overall in week one.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: There were some good things here as well.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: And you got to keep the main thing, the main thing.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar starters did the job today, and we're gonna get into all that.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: But to me, that was not situational mastery at the end of the game, throwing that football when you're already in field goal range, and there's like no time left, you can very easily just kneel it or run it, call the time out, kick the field goal, get out of there, right?
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where I'm at with that.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: But again, that's a learning moment, certainly for the coaching staff in my opinion,
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: the players that were trying to execute that, most of them maybe all of them aren't even going to be on this fifty-three-man roster.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not a real big deal, but I do think that that was not a situational mastery.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's dive into this football game.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars, starters, got two drives,
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: on both sides.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: You had no Tyson Campbell, no Diami Brown, no Travis Hunter, no Caleb Ransson, no Buster Brown, no Jaila McCloud, no Tuma Adoga, no Dennis Gardeck, no Colvin, Lannon, no Anton, Harrison, no Eric, I'm said, nobody's the Smith.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of Jaguars injured and on the mend.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: Most of those are like not serious issues, although Caleb Ransson is still weak to weak, Buster Brown is out for training camp.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jaila McCloud weak to weak, Colvin Lannon,
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: out for training camp.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody else, you know, it seems like maybe I don't really know where there are garms that nobody seems to know, but other than that, I mean, it's not like anything serious.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Daniel Thomas did limp off after one play, but he came back in.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua Severs had to get looked at by the trainers.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: He came back in as well.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Jack Wars are exiting this game with anything serious, but I will obviously keep y'all updated on that.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: So getting into drive one for the Jack Wars offense, Trevor delivered a pretty good throw to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: down the field on his first throw the game, but it was a drop.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Was it a perfect throw?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: but it was a drop.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like it was a little low.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, you know, Brian Thomas Jr., like maybe around a little bit above his knees.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like it wasn't like a low ball that was like a
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: ball into the dirt, right?
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like Brian Thomas Jr.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: has got to catch that.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence can throw a little bit better ball.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so you move on second throw.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: It was third night.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: He stepped up in the pocket, evaded pressure, looked really comfortable and delivered to Britain strange.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: And that became a theme on the day and it just feels like that's kind of a nice outlet over the middle of the field as Trevor Lawrence works through his reads to get back to Britain strange.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's definitely something that is you're seeing that throughout the off season into training camp into the preseason here.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Um, delivered to Brian Thomas Jr on a play that could have gone bad.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: I looked like he was supposed to hit tank on the other side of the field or something like that.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Not exactly sure.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully we can get an answer on that one from the coaching staff or Trevor or whatever.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: Not a big deal though, but instead of having a, uh, you know, a broken play go wrong, it ended up being fine and he was able to get a couple yards there.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then again, hit, written strange on third down.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: and short got the first down tank bigs be actually had a catch and run on this drive which was really good to see caught the football and you know kept kind of juke and defenders kept going you know he was like almost all the way on the left side of the field kept getting over to the right and gaining ground as he was doing it kept juke and guys and
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, planting and going and he looked really good on that.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: So that was good to see from tank.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have the Trevor get stepped on, you know, his left foot got stepped on by Ezra Cleveland's right foot.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's tripping and falling to the ground and trying to handle ball to tank bigs B. It was an unforced air by Ezra Cleveland.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, hopefully you would hope that Trevor could not fumble the ball in that situation or not lose the ball.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it may be, overall it's just something that needs to clean up.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: You can't have that in that situation in the red zone after a really strong starting drive.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's how you ended in a lot of folks are like up.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Same old Jack wars, but overall it was an impressive drive and you can't have it in that way.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: It is what it is.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: So then you get drive one from the defense.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: You start out.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: Trayman Walker has a really nice run stuff.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: The Saints did end up getting a first down on a short completion.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like wide open or anything like that.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Just a nice little short play from the Saints passing game to to be able to get first down.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: But then do we win or got a sack?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Trayman had a beautifully executed game upfront.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: where Trayvon stunts inside and smooth loops back around.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: The timing of it was really strong, really well coordinated there, and that forced a, that forced an intentional grounding.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Ricky quarterback Tyler Shaw, who didn't really look prepared to face the Jaguar's defense, starting defense in this one.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty tough situation overall for him, but that was a good defensive drive.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Really good stuff overall.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: You saw, in my opinion, Anthony Campanilla coming up with some nice, nice games, nice blitzes.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the Dewey sack was really easy.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: Good start for the Jaguar's team.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's who needed a good start.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: And look, the Saints,
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you're going to be one of the worst teams of the NFL this year.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: They are probably, but the Jaguars, they can't control who they are going against.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: What they can't control is the controllers, the execution.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, the Jaguars starting defense did a very good job in that regard.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then on drive number two, the offense instead of letting a mistake
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Snowball, they came out and they had a really good second drive.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: A good start on a short completion to a wide open Travis ETN who was actually able to pick up like eight yards.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: That was a nice start getting to second and two.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: ETN had a really nice run up the middle where he broke several tackles at the second, third level.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: But to get there it was wide open rushing lane.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: by the Jaguar's offensive line.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: That was good to see Fred Johnson.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: You got beat bad on the inside on the next play.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Next Trevor Lawrence throw, but Lawrence got rid of the ball to Parker Washington for a first down.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: Had another short completion to Brian Thomas Jr., which was good to see.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: E.T.N.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: had a short run to get it on third and three and was able to get that three yards.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that was a type of play or situation where the Jaguar is probably running the ball on third and three.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're like, well, we're going to go for it on fourth down if we don't get it.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: But let's go ahead and run it and see if we can get it and we did.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: So so they like to see that.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: You had a really nice
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: run blocking play, uh, Britain's strange kind of pulling into the, uh, into the middle of the line of scrimmage and taking on an incoming second level defender and doing a good job and a bounce D-T-N or, you know, uh, got sprung E-T-N for a nice little run.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Um, you see Trevor Lawrence doing a good job in the sack of woodens and again,
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: pocket presence, pocket maneuvering, and then he throws a touchdown to Parker Washington.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: Parker caught it a little short of the goal line for your short of the goal line.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Pivoted back inside and was able to dive into the end zone for a touchdown.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: Great to see that from Parker Washington.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: And from the entire Jaguar starting offense, they got two drives.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: They moved the ball at will basically, and overall the Jaguar starting offense has done a good job.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: These first two weeks has been a little bit too many on four stairs.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you have the stepping on your quarterback's foot, turbulence and fumbling it.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: And last week, you had penalties and things of that nature.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: This week, you had to drop and the stepping on the quarterback's foot.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Continue to clean it up, continue to work to improve on these things.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, definitely a step in the right direction for the Jaguars offense.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the Jaguars offense is in a pretty good place.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Drive two for the defense.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: You have Ventreal Miller, one on one with Rashid Shaheed, which is not a matchup you want to see in coverage of your Jaguars.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Try to go for a diving pass break up and Rashid Shaheed caught it for a nice little play.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: But then you had ventral on the next play, having a nice run stuff, and a good coverage by Jordan Lewis down the field on third down, forced a punt for the Saints.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: And that was it for your Jaguar starters.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think again, you can't control your opponent.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: What you can control is how you handle yourself against that opponent.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the Jaguars thoroughly dominated the Saints.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: The scores should have been more lopsided early.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot forget that.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: You can't have that turnover.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not placing blame on Trevor.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously Cleveland can't step on the foot.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: We'll hear what the team has to say about it.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: But that's an unforced error.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: The defense did nothing to you to force you to make that mistake and ended up costing you probably seven points.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: So they should have scored more.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: But again, I think they're moving in the right direction.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're being coached the right way.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think they feel good about this.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a stepping stone.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars, they don't have a regular season game next week.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: They have a regular season game in like three weeks, and I think that they're making progress towards being ready for that regular season game.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: Some notes from this one.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I thought the Jack Wars starting off and move the ball really well.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: Just can't have those on four stairs.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: uh... it felt fairly clean from the starters overall on both sides for the jackwars even without Travis hunter even without tyson camel camble excuse me deami brown uh... lot of mistakes by the back up to however in this one uh... i think that there was you know penalties and again missed assignments by the backups on both sides of the ball uh... i thought the uh... the two backup quarterbacks who got a lot of time to do great job now nickmoans to his credit
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: He had a strong finish, a strong close to the first half, but after that, I mean, his interception was really, really pretty horrible.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: It absolutely was unacceptable.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: And then you also saw John Wolford through a turnover worthy
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: throw and then at the end of the game, head again through an interception where kind of forced the ball into a spot where Chandler Brayboy couldn't come up with it.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: The defender had really tight covered on that short little slant.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: So the backup quarterback didn't do a good enough job.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, I think that that's a storyline that continues out of like to see more Seth.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: And again, in this game, I don't know why you didn't, but it is what it is.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: What you can't say, though, is the starting quarterback for the Jaguars.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: He has had a strong preseason.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: He was six or seven last week.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: He was eight for ten this week, seventy six yards, one touchdown.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Again, was given the fumble, but is that really has followed after being stepped on.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you won't, I'll be able to hold on the football, but it is what it is.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: The run blocking and pass pro overall was strong.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: There was a few moments here and there where it wasn't perfect.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: But winning type of football from the offensive line, although Jonah Monheim did have one penalty for a fall start.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he played really well, especially at center.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: I really like his future prospect for the Jaguars at center.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Saints had their starters out there a long time.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: Every time Chris O'Lave was getting hit, I was nervous for him to worry about his concussions, but I know y'all don't really care about that.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: Devin Lloyd, as a note, did stay out there with the backups for a bit.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's something to pay attention to.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Parker Washington continued to play well.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: He had a nice return along with his touchdown.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: Hunter Long had a great catch from Nick Mullins down the field.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: Mullins kind of threaded that needle.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how he did it, but he did, and Hunter Long came up with a really good catch.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: Bacial Tutan scored another touchdown second straight week with a touchdown for him.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like a super explosive day for Bacial Tutan, very workmen like, but you did see another play from two and where it looked like the defenders had him stopped and he was able to keep turning those legs and then you get another couple offensive guys on your side, pushing behind you and you're able to
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know, get some extra yardage.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that's really cool to see from two and it's becoming a theme that he can find the end zone close to the end zone and that he can keep turning those legs along with his unbelievable breakaway speed that he has once you get him in the open field.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: Lee Quint Allen had a beautiful hurdle to get a first down.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: That was really nice to see from him.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: I did, these notes aren't kind of in order at the end here, but I did want to shout out Anthony Campanile.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: He had a good game in my opinion coaching.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: The nice blitz on third down led to a sack by smooth.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you had the game up front that was perfectly executed early on with smooth and walker.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: You had the do-ey sack.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: You had a lot of, you know, a little bit more designer-y things that looked a lot better in this game.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: from the defense.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: Cam Little didn't get that opportunity to kick the field goal late in the game, but he did get the fifty-three yarder late in the first half, so that was, you know, that was good situational football.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: At the end of the game, I didn't think it was good situational football.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Did see Ray on Lane have a coverage tackle, and that's one of the big things he's here for as special teams.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Bowman had a really bad drop, you know, back up tight end.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to make the roster, but he had a really bad drop.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: Shout-out to Kenny H. Lovely again.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Give the Jaguar the chance there at the end to close it out.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: But they couldn't get it done and it ends up in a tie, seventeen, seventeen.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: We will continue to break this game down and more detail as we move forward over the next couple days.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
