- 0:01Hello and welcome to the Everyday Eurasia podcast,
- 0:05Inspiring Faith for Every day. Each day we are on a journey
- 0:09with Jesus in our churches, our homes, our very places, and in
- 0:14so many different places around the world.
- 0:17Isn't it beautiful that no matter where we are, we can walk
- 0:21with him every single day? Jesus is the one who connects us
- 0:25all and stands at the very center of our lives day after
- 0:29day. Through this podcast, you'll
- 0:31hear voices from across the region.
- 0:34Pastor Nizar Tuma, born in Nazareth and a devoted servant
- 0:38of faith since becoming a believer in 1985.
- 0:41He was ordained in 1990 and has spent decades in ministry,
- 0:46including ten years in Jerusalem and over 26 years in Nazareth.
- 0:50He's married to his wife, Katie, with whom he shares three
- 0:53children and two grandchildren. Today he serves as the District
- 0:57Superintendent of the Holy Land District.
- 1:01Hello dear friends, greetings in the name of Jesus.
- 1:05This is Pastor Nazar Tuma recording this podcast for the
- 1:10ministry of the Church of the Nazarene being ready and
- 1:14prepared for the coming season of Easter when we celebrate the
- 1:20death and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.
- 1:23This is Pastor Nizar Tuma, the DS of the Holy Land District and
- 1:29the pastor of the Church of the Nazarene.
- 1:32I'm so grateful to God to give me for giving me this
- 1:35opportunity to come and share my heart with you and what God have
- 1:40laid on my heart at this time. I want to share with you maybe
- 1:45in on this video, at least some ideas about the veil, the
- 1:50curtain, and the Bible that separated between the holy place
- 1:54and the Holy of Holies. This place where Moses was
- 1:59ordered to put up this curtain and it was done in the
- 2:05wilderness when they had the Tabernacle built up.
- 2:08And then also when the temple of God was built in Jerusalem,
- 2:13again, they were ordered to have the curtain still up because the
- 2:17presence of God was behind that curtain.
- 2:21Now what I want to encourage you with is that this curtain was
- 2:25torn into two when Jesus died. Now I will read a few verses
- 2:31from the Gospel of Luke chapter 23 where it talks about the
- 2:36death of Jesus. Let me read with you from
- 2:40chapter 23 of the Gospel of Luke, verses 44 to 46.
- 2:46And it goes like this. It was now about the 6th hour,
- 2:51and there was darkness over the whole land until the 9th hour,
- 2:56while the sun's light failed and the curtain of the temple was
- 3:00torn in two. Then Jesus calling out with a
- 3:05loud voice, said, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
- 3:11And having said this, he breathed his last.
- 3:15So Jesus took his last breath on the cross to pay the price for
- 3:21all of us to carry the sins of the world, to remove the barrier
- 3:27that was sitting there between US and God.
- 3:32And God tore that veil himself because it was torn from the top
- 3:37to the bottom, not from bottom to top, because you couldn't
- 3:41tear it with your bare hands. It was very thick.
- 3:44So it was done miraculously. God did that.
- 3:48He removed that veil for us. And I believe that many people
- 3:53in the Old Testament were curious about what was laying
- 3:57behind, behind that curtain. It was the presence of God.
- 4:01It was the most holy place you can imagine.
- 4:05And today we thank God that we don't have a curtain.
- 4:09We have no barriers between US and God.
- 4:13Jesus have paid the price. Jesus have made the way for us
- 4:17to come into the presence of God.
- 4:19And knowing that we can speak to God now face to face freely, we
- 4:25need to thank Jesus for paying that price for us.
- 4:28And today I want to encourage you that behind this curtain
- 4:32lays many, many great blessings, a great inheritance.
- 4:37Things that we used to dream about have come true now.
- 4:42What was forbidden before now is allowed.
- 4:47We could see now the face of Jesus when we come to pray, when
- 4:52we come to meet with Him, things that were removed and things
- 4:56that happened when this veil was removed.
- 5:00We can think about them quickly. First, this was the end of the
- 5:05season of priesthood and this was also opening the way to
- 5:13heaven again when Adam was forbidden from re entering the
- 5:18Garden of Eden. At that time, maybe the sign
- 5:21that was on that gate of that garden said entrance forbidden
- 5:29now entrance granted by the work of the Lord Jesus on the cross.
- 5:35So we have no more sacrifices that we have to make.
- 5:39Jesus paid the price. The door is open, we can enter.
- 5:43All the barriers were removed, Reconciliation between heaven
- 5:47and earth happened. Hallelujah.
- 5:51So we can rejoice that this veil was taken away.
- 5:56What we need today when we come to pray, we can bring it to God
- 6:00in prayer. We can lay it at His feet behind
- 6:03this curtain. No curtain.
- 6:06Remember, now we have entered into the holy of the holies.
- 6:10Now we are sitting at His feet. We can gaze at His glory, at His
- 6:16beauty, and we can rejoice thinking of the price that was
- 6:21paid for us. How can we miss something like
- 6:25that in our Christian life? I came to know Jesus as my
- 6:31personal savior when I was just 18 and he opened my heart.
- 6:38You see, I used to be a traditional Christian.
- 6:41The moment I met Jesus, my life was changed 180°.
- 6:48God did something miraculous in our in my heart.
- 6:51I was called from darkness to light.
- 6:54Can you imagine me growing up in Nazareth and not having Jesus in
- 6:58my life? I mean not believing in him, not
- 7:00knowing him. He have chosen me to be his
- 7:03disciple. He have chosen me to make a
- 7:06difference in my community, in my church in Nazareth.
- 7:12So today I am a new creation. I am a person who have accepted
- 7:15Jesus and he led me to go into the Holy of Holies, to go and
- 7:20celebrate, to go and rejoice. And let me be honest here, I my
- 7:26life is totally different when I became a believer.
- 7:30I am not a traditional Christian anymore.
- 7:33I am not following any tradition.
- 7:35I am entering the Holy of Holies freely by the blood of Jesus.
- 7:40I can be a witness His, His light can shine through me and
- 7:46His heart can beat through me. When I reach out to people and
- 7:50tell them about Jesus, I do it with great love.
- 7:55So continue to pray for us here in Nazareth.
- 7:58I leave this in your hands now. Looking forward to record
- 8:02another podcast for this ministry.
