  Pastor Nizar Tuma, born in Nazareth and a devoted servant
• 0:38
  of faith since becoming a believer in 1985.

  He was ordained in 1990 and has spent decades in ministry,

  including ten years in Jerusalem and over 26 years in Nazareth.

  He's married to his wife, Katie, with whom he shares three
• 0:53
  children and two grandchildren. Today he serves as the District

  Superintendent of the Holy Land District.

  Hello dear friends, greetings in the name of Jesus.

  This is Pastor Nazar Tuma recording this podcast for the

  ministry of the Church of the Nazarene being ready and
• 1:14
  prepared for the coming season of Easter when we celebrate the
• 1:20
  death and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

  This is Pastor Nizar Tuma, the DS of the Holy Land District and
• 1:29
  the pastor of the Church of the Nazarene.

  I'm so grateful to God to give me for giving me this
• 1:35
  opportunity to come and share my heart with you and what God have
• 1:40
  laid on my heart at this time. I want to share with you maybe
• 1:45
  in on this video, at least some ideas about the veil, the
• 1:50
  curtain, and the Bible that separated between the holy place
• 1:54
  and the Holy of Holies. This place where Moses was
• 1:59
  ordered to put up this curtain and it was done in the
• 2:05
  wilderness when they had the Tabernacle built up.
• 2:08
  And then also when the temple of God was built in Jerusalem,
• 2:13
  again, they were ordered to have the curtain still up because the
• 2:17
  presence of God was behind that curtain.
• 2:21
  Now what I want to encourage you with is that this curtain was
• 2:25
  torn into two when Jesus died. Now I will read a few verses
• 2:31
  from the Gospel of Luke chapter 23 where it talks about the
• 2:36
  death of Jesus. Let me read with you from
• 2:40
  chapter 23 of the Gospel of Luke, verses 44 to 46.
• 2:46
  And it goes like this. It was now about the 6th hour,
• 2:51
  and there was darkness over the whole land until the 9th hour,
• 2:56
  while the sun's light failed and the curtain of the temple was
• 3:00
  torn in two. Then Jesus calling out with a
• 3:05
  loud voice, said, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.
• 3:11
  And having said this, he breathed his last.
• 3:15
  So Jesus took his last breath on the cross to pay the price for
• 3:21
  all of us to carry the sins of the world, to remove the barrier
• 3:27
  that was sitting there between US and God.
• 3:32
  And God tore that veil himself because it was torn from the top
• 3:37
  to the bottom, not from bottom to top, because you couldn't
• 3:41
  tear it with your bare hands. It was very thick.
• 3:44
  So it was done miraculously. God did that.
• 3:48
  He removed that veil for us. And I believe that many people
• 3:53
  in the Old Testament were curious about what was laying
• 3:57
  behind, behind that curtain. It was the presence of God.
• 4:01
  It was the most holy place you can imagine.
• 4:05
  And today we thank God that we don't have a curtain.
• 4:09
  We have no barriers between US and God.
• 4:13
  Jesus have paid the price. Jesus have made the way for us
• 4:17
  to come into the presence of God.
• 4:19
  And knowing that we can speak to God now face to face freely, we
• 4:25
  need to thank Jesus for paying that price for us.
• 4:28
  And today I want to encourage you that behind this curtain
• 4:32
  lays many, many great blessings, a great inheritance.
• 4:37
  Things that we used to dream about have come true now.
• 4:42
  What was forbidden before now is allowed.
• 4:47
  We could see now the face of Jesus when we come to pray, when
• 4:52
  we come to meet with Him, things that were removed and things
• 4:56
  that happened when this veil was removed.
• 5:00
  We can think about them quickly. First, this was the end of the
• 5:05
  season of priesthood and this was also opening the way to
• 5:13
  heaven again when Adam was forbidden from re entering the
• 5:18
  Garden of Eden. At that time, maybe the sign
• 5:21
  that was on that gate of that garden said entrance forbidden
• 5:29
  now entrance granted by the work of the Lord Jesus on the cross.
• 5:35
  So we have no more sacrifices that we have to make.
• 5:39
  Jesus paid the price. The door is open, we can enter.
• 5:43
  All the barriers were removed, Reconciliation between heaven
• 5:47
  and earth happened. Hallelujah.
• 5:51
  So we can rejoice that this veil was taken away.
• 5:56
  What we need today when we come to pray, we can bring it to God
• 6:00
  in prayer. We can lay it at His feet behind
• 6:03
  this curtain. No curtain.
• 6:06
  Remember, now we have entered into the holy of the holies.
• 6:10
  Now we are sitting at His feet. We can gaze at His glory, at His
• 6:16
  beauty, and we can rejoice thinking of the price that was
• 6:21
  paid for us. How can we miss something like
• 6:25
  that in our Christian life? I came to know Jesus as my
• 6:31
  personal savior when I was just 18 and he opened my heart.
• 6:38
  You see, I used to be a traditional Christian.
• 6:41
  The moment I met Jesus, my life was changed 180°.
• 6:48
  God did something miraculous in our in my heart.
• 6:51
  I was called from darkness to light.
• 6:54
  Can you imagine me growing up in Nazareth and not having Jesus in
• 6:58
  my life? I mean not believing in him, not
• 7:00
  knowing him. He have chosen me to be his
• 7:03
  disciple. He have chosen me to make a
• 7:06
  difference in my community, in my church in Nazareth.
• 7:12
  So today I am a new creation. I am a person who have accepted
• 7:15
  Jesus and he led me to go into the Holy of Holies, to go and
• 7:20
  celebrate, to go and rejoice. And let me be honest here, I my
• 7:26
  life is totally different when I became a believer.
• 7:30
  I am not a traditional Christian anymore.
• 7:33
  I am not following any tradition.
• 7:35
  I am entering the Holy of Holies freely by the blood of Jesus.
• 7:40
  I can be a witness His, His light can shine through me and
• 7:46
  His heart can beat through me. When I reach out to people and
• 7:50
  tell them about Jesus, I do it with great love.
• 7:55
  So continue to pray for us here in Nazareth.
