- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on you, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody,
- 0:07Speaker 1: you all listening to the voice, come on dig me now,
- 0:11Speaker 1: One and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man,
- 0:14Speaker 1: old man, oh Man symbolizes just one thing to me. Man,
- 0:18Speaker 1: It's just a constant remind of exactly how good God
- 0:21Speaker 1: has been to me over the years. And I'm thanking
- 0:24Speaker 1: for it too, because I realize every day that I
- 0:26Speaker 1: wake up that I would be nothing without Him. That
- 0:29Speaker 1: everything I am, that's any good in me, I owe
- 0:33Speaker 1: to him. Now. Have I made some mistakes along the way? Yep, bunches,
- 0:39Speaker 1: bunches and bunches. And will I continue to make mistakes
- 0:43Speaker 1: along the way? Yep? Not as many, hopefully as I
- 0:48Speaker 1: have in the past, because a lot of stuff I
- 0:51Speaker 1: know better now. But you're still going to make mistakes now,
- 0:56Speaker 1: you know. Hopefully I've limited then of intentional errors in
- 1:02Speaker 1: my life. I've wiped quite a few of those out,
- 1:05Speaker 1: but from time to time, because we're human, we're going
- 1:09Speaker 1: to make a mistake every now and then. The trick,
- 1:11Speaker 1: what it is, y'all, is not to let the devil
- 1:14Speaker 1: deceive you into thinking that once you make that mistake
- 1:17Speaker 1: that that's it. You can't do it. You're falling off
- 1:20Speaker 1: the wagon. You can't reboard it. That's the biggest trick
- 1:24Speaker 1: that he uses. He makes you think that if you
- 1:28Speaker 1: keep stumbling, that you can't run the race. It kind
- 1:35Speaker 1: of reminds me of a marathon runner. From time to time,
- 1:38Speaker 1: I watch them on TV, and you'll see some people
- 1:42Speaker 1: who finish the race, you know, in a nice pace.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You see people finish the race sprinting towards the finished line.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But every now and then you'll watch a marathon and
- 1:57Speaker 1: you'll see a runner and the runner is in really,
- 2:01Speaker 1: really bad shape. The key is they finish the race. See,
- 2:08Speaker 1: you don't get disqualified in the marathon because you stumble,
- 2:15Speaker 1: You don't. They don't. They don't take your opportunity to
- 2:19Speaker 1: finish the race because you keep falling. That's not the key.
- 2:25Speaker 1: The key is finishing. And a lot of times what
- 2:28Speaker 1: the devil does is he makes you think that because
- 2:31Speaker 1: you keep stumbling, because you're swaying from side to side,
- 2:35Speaker 1: that you know you out the race. Well, that's not
- 2:38Speaker 1: the case. And see and then this thing called life,
- 2:42Speaker 1: let me help you understand something. Everybody falls. Nobody sprints
- 2:46Speaker 1: to the tape in this one, nobody just runs free
- 2:49Speaker 1: and clear. That has some people running faster than you
- 2:53Speaker 1: and all like this, and some people gonna get to
- 2:55Speaker 1: the end before you let them go ahead. And when
- 2:57Speaker 1: the end come, the end come. I ain't in a run,
- 3:00Speaker 1: you get to the end. But in this race, though,
- 3:03Speaker 1: when you're stumbling and you're falling, it's a part of it.
- 3:07Speaker 1: No one gets through this race without stumbling and falling,
- 3:10Speaker 1: swaying from side to side. So don't let the enemy
- 3:15Speaker 1: to see you in the thinking that it's over. I
- 3:19Speaker 1: try to be encouraging to people because I don't want
- 3:23Speaker 1: people to get stuck on this thing, you know. And
- 3:26Speaker 1: my walk is very different from a lot of people's walks.
- 3:28Speaker 1: And then I know a lot of people who walking
- 3:30Speaker 1: in faith the way I'm walking in faith. But my
- 3:33Speaker 1: thing in the morning is just to remind those that
- 3:36Speaker 1: is not a perfect walk man, that it's not something
- 3:40Speaker 1: that's set up where you're gonna be skipping through life
- 3:44Speaker 1: scott free without any pitfalls. You know. I keep saying
- 3:48Speaker 1: it over and over and over again, because, like I said,
- 3:50Speaker 1: when I was in DC, my boy Hondo said this
- 3:54Speaker 1: to me, and it just kind of stuck with me
- 3:56Speaker 1: that the road to construct the road to successes always
- 4:00Speaker 1: under construction. You have to figure and count on the
- 4:04Speaker 1: setbacks and the pitfalls. But it's those people that that
- 4:09Speaker 1: that that are that fight through will be the victors
- 4:12Speaker 1: in the end. You cannot give up, man, Stop going
- 4:15Speaker 1: somewhere and sitting down every time something goes down. It's
- 4:20Speaker 1: going to go down. It's a part of it. It's
- 4:24Speaker 1: going to happen. It's going to occur that are going
- 4:27Speaker 1: to be setbacks. If you go and sit down every
- 4:30Speaker 1: time there's a setback, that's not how this works. It
- 4:35Speaker 1: is designed that way. If success were easy, everybody would
- 4:40Speaker 1: be successful. But success is just reserved for those who
- 4:45Speaker 1: are willing to fight through, who refuse to settle for mediocrity,
- 4:50Speaker 1: who wants something more. Now, don't get me wrong. Success
- 4:54Speaker 1: is defined by each individual. So what I may consider
- 4:59Speaker 1: to be successful, you may not consider that. You know
- 5:02Speaker 1: what Bill Gates considered successful. I might not consider what
- 5:07Speaker 1: Michael Jordan considered successful. I might not consider what you
- 5:11Speaker 1: consider successful. Your boss might not consider. You have to
- 5:14Speaker 1: define what that is for yourself. It may not be
- 5:18Speaker 1: monetary at all. You know, your level of success could
- 5:22Speaker 1: be tied up in community service. It could be tied
- 5:25Speaker 1: up in family, It could be tied up in the church.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Your level of success could be tied up into boys clubs,
- 5:32Speaker 1: It could be any number of things. Whatever your level
- 5:36Speaker 1: of success is, you have to determine what that is
- 5:39Speaker 1: you and the best way to determine that is to
- 5:42Speaker 1: get in touch with your maker, who created you, to
- 5:47Speaker 1: find out what your mission and your purpose is so
- 5:50Speaker 1: he can put you on track. I just had this
- 5:53Speaker 1: conversation with my son and we were talking about getting
- 5:57Speaker 1: on the path that God has said up for you.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So many times we find ourselves fighting through life because
- 6:05Speaker 1: of so much uncertainty, because we have no idea where
- 6:09Speaker 1: we're headed. It's like one of my sayings that I
- 6:15Speaker 1: have at my mentoring camp for boys is is that
- 6:19Speaker 1: a boy without a male role model is like an
- 6:23Speaker 1: explorer without a map. See if you don't have a
- 6:28Speaker 1: map laid out in front of you of where you're
- 6:32Speaker 1: going when you wake up every day, that pretty much
- 6:37Speaker 1: explains the feeling of confusion, the laxadaisical attitude, the lack
- 6:44Speaker 1: of purpose, to not understanding your mission because you don't
- 6:51Speaker 1: have not gotten in touch with your creator to find
- 6:54Speaker 1: out exactly what your path in life is what are
- 6:58Speaker 1: you supposed to be doing? The moment you can identify
- 7:01Speaker 1: that is the moment that you get started waking up
- 7:05Speaker 1: with purpose, with the sense of direction. When you kill
- 7:09Speaker 1: the sense of I don't know what's next or what
- 7:12Speaker 1: to do. Now, there's gonna be some confusing moments no
- 7:15Speaker 1: matter what happened, it's gonna be some uncertainty, but at
- 7:18Speaker 1: least you'll know where you're going. So if you're tied,
- 7:20Speaker 1: awaking up, feeling loss, abandon, confuse, don't know what to do,
- 7:26Speaker 1: don't know what you're supposed to be doing, refer back
- 7:31Speaker 1: to your maker because when he created you, he had
- 7:35Speaker 1: a plan for you. When he created you, he had
- 7:38Speaker 1: a path for you. Now we've made some decisions to
- 7:41Speaker 1: get off of both of those, the mission and the path.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But God can get you right back on track. Do
- 7:48Speaker 1: that today, Ask him what you're supposed to be doing
- 7:53Speaker 1: and listen. God has all the answers if you form
- 7:57Speaker 1: the relationship. Okays. The Steve Harvey Morning Show
