- 0:00Speaker 1: It's early body praise party. I am Sherry mackew. It
- 0:04Speaker 1: is time right now for today's word. A legacy worse remembering,
- 0:10Speaker 1: a legacy worth remembering. John fifteen thirteen says greater love
- 0:17Speaker 1: has no one than this, to lay down one's life
- 0:20Speaker 1: for one's friends. You know, Memorial Day is often marked
- 0:26Speaker 1: by gatherings and travel or cookouts and time with family.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yet beneath the celebrations is a sacred reminder. We pause
- 0:37Speaker 1: to honor the men and the women who gave their
- 0:39Speaker 1: lives in service to others. Their sacrifice made freedoms possible
- 0:43Speaker 1: that many enjoy every single day. Remembering matters Throughout the scripture,
- 0:51Speaker 1: God often instructed his people to remember, to remember his faithfulness,
- 0:55Speaker 1: to remember his deliverance, to remember the sacrifices that shaped
- 1:00Speaker 1: their journey. Why Because remembering produces gratitude, and gratitude changes
- 1:05Speaker 1: how we live. Memorial Day gives us an opportunity not
- 1:11Speaker 1: only to remember those who served our nation with courage,
- 1:15Speaker 1: but also to reflect on the lives we're living because
- 1:19Speaker 1: of that sacrifice. The question becomes, what are we doing
- 1:23Speaker 1: with what others gave so much to preserve the greatest
- 1:27Speaker 1: example of love involved sacrifice. Jesus said, greater love has
- 1:33Speaker 1: no one than this, to lay down one's life for
- 1:36Speaker 1: one's friends. Those words point ultimately to Jesus Christ, who
- 1:42Speaker 1: willingly gave his life so that we can experience forgiveness,
- 1:45Speaker 1: so that we can experience hope, so that we can
- 1:48Speaker 1: experience eternal life. His sacrifice reminds us that love is
- 1:53Speaker 1: more than just words. It's action. Today, as we honor
- 1:58Speaker 1: fallen heroes, have this day can also become a moment
- 2:02Speaker 1: of reflection in your own life. Are we living with purpose?
- 2:06Speaker 1: Are we extending kindness? Are we protecting peace in our homes?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Are we investing in faith? Are we investing in family?
- 2:15Speaker 1: Are we investing in our community? Are we leaving behind
- 2:20Speaker 1: a legacy of integrity and compassion? Legacy is not built
- 2:26Speaker 1: in one grand moment. It is built in daily choices.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Some people leave behind memories of achievement. Others leave behind
- 2:35Speaker 1: examples of courage, faithfulness, generosity and service. And the most
- 2:40Speaker 1: lasting legacies often come from ordinary people who consistently chose
- 2:46Speaker 1: to love God and love others well. Memorial Day can
- 2:50Speaker 1: also be difficult for those carrying grief the loss of
- 2:54Speaker 1: a loved one, a family member, who served, or memories
- 2:58Speaker 1: that still ache. If that's your story, know this, God
- 3:04Speaker 1: sees every sorrow and he holds every tear. The Lord
- 3:07Speaker 1: is near to the broken hearted, and his comfort reaches
- 3:11Speaker 1: places our words cannot. So today, honor, sacrifice, express gratitude,
- 3:17Speaker 1: cherish the people around you, and remember that our lives
- 3:20Speaker 1: become meaningful when we use them to serve something greater
- 3:24Speaker 1: than ourselves. So may we never take freedom for granted,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and may we live in a way that reflects courage, faith,
- 3:32Speaker 1: humility and love. Father, thank you for those who gave
- 3:36Speaker 1: their lives in service and sacrifice. Comfort families who carry
- 3:40Speaker 1: grief and memories on this Memorial Day. Help us live
- 3:43Speaker 1: with gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy and with purpose
- 3:46Speaker 1: in the days you've given us. Teach us to build
- 3:49Speaker 1: lives that honor you and leave a legacy of faith,
- 3:52Speaker 1: love and service. Thank you Lord for the greatest sacrifice
- 3:55Speaker 1: of all Jesus Christ, whose love continues to give us
- 3:58Speaker 1: hope and peace. And ge Esu's name, that's your word
- 4:01Speaker 1: for today. Take an apply to your everyday life and
- 4:03Speaker 1: you continue to be encouraged and inspired. It's your early
- 4:06Speaker 1: morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie,
