- 0:41him out. He's a marine in South Carolina,
- 0:42has a ton of great stuff. Do you notice the intro is a
- 0:45little bit shorter? Because we have a ton to talk
- 0:49about today and I mean a ton to talk about so much in the world.
- 0:55As far as news goes, as far as the SEC versus LSU, we of course
- 0:59have Week 1 to talk about all the controversial things that
- 1:02ended up happening with that as far as Michigan and Western
- 1:07Michigan goes. And then of course, a few other
- 1:10reactions as far as week one goes.
- 1:12So we're, we're just going to dive right into it.
- 1:14It, it's one of those like there's so much that I want to
- 1:17talk about and it's, it's also one of those it's like, man, I
- 1:19could probably go like a whole like 2 hours if I really wanted
- 1:25to talk about stuff, but we, we don't have that kind of time.
- 1:29So without further ado, let's go ahead and just jump right into
- 1:32it. LSU versus the SEC.
- 1:35Now, this has continued to get even worse since the last time
- 1:39we talked about this. And of course, one of the big
- 1:41things being the fact that LSU is trying to get a lot of pro
- 1:45players back into college on some of their teams.
- 1:47The LSU women's soccer team already had a professional
- 1:51player come in and play games. Will Wade, the basketball coach,
- 1:55is actively recruiting a lot of professional players.
- 1:58And then of course, the one that gets the most, the most news,
- 2:01the most buzz, everything like that that goes around it, Lane
- 2:06Kiffin with Dequel Wright and Xavion Harris, who are both not
- 2:12on the roster. They are filing.
- 2:15They are filing. They are following and in
- 2:19compliance with the rules of the SEC established as far as
- 2:23they're not on the roster, they are not actively playing.
- 2:26Basically, they're they're not doing anything that would be
- 2:30considered quote, UN quote, wrong.
- 2:33But the SEC did file this today, according to Pete Thamel a
- 2:37little bit earlier. The SEC has filed an amendment
- 2:40to its federal lawsuit against LSU, Lane Kiffin and the school
- 2:43officials on Tuesday, which seeks the authority for the SEC
- 2:48to expel LSU from the league. The SEC is not expected to take
- 2:52such action, but the filing indicates the seriousness of the
- 2:55league as it attempts to affirm the legal right to enforce its
- 2:58own rules. That was the original point of
- 3:01the federal lawsuit that was filed last week.
- 3:05And apparently what even added to this was Lane Kiffin's
- 3:10interview that he had during his halftime interview where
- 3:14basically he said, you know, they were up 31 to 3 and he said
- 3:17imagine if we had pro players. According to the SEC, he said
- 3:22Section 91. After the Clemson game,
- 3:24defendant Kiffin reiterated his disagreement with the objection
- 3:27and the professionalism rules to the position of the SEC
- 3:30Defendant Kiffin. Kiffin's statement and position,
- 3:33along with the numerous other statements and actions by
- 3:36defendants alleges here in stand in sharp contrast to the silence
- 3:41by the President and Athletic Director of LSU after defendant
- 3:44Ruse voted for the policy statement on August 25th, 2026.
- 3:48And they confirmed the lack of institutional control over the
- 3:54over the athletic program at LSU that is required by Article 6 of
- 3:57the SEC Constitution and the remaining provisions of the
- 4:01Constitution and by laws referenced above.
- 4:04So my my first immediate reaction to this whole LSU thing
- 4:11and kicking him out of the league.
- 4:12It's not that I don't think that the SESEC is serious.
- 4:16It's not that I don't think that this is something that they're
- 4:19going to push for. And they're they're supposed to
- 4:20vote on this Thursday the 10th. And apparently from my
- 4:25understanding is what they're also trying to do is part of
- 4:29this federal lawsuit is also in conjunction to basically take
- 4:34this to a federal judge and that if they go through with this,
- 4:37that basically LSU and the state of Louisiana would not be able
- 4:43to basically defend itself or, you know, re basically retaliate
- 4:50in any type of way. Basically the SEC is trying to
- 4:53defend itself. Terry.
- 4:55Hi Terry. How are you, ma'am?
- 4:56Appreciate you tuning in. So it it it it's interesting in
- 5:04that fact because that that's part of the issue that they had
- 5:07with one of the Louisiana judges.
- 5:08This is the Louisiana judge basically ruled that if LSU is
- 5:12in compliance, if they do decide to let these professional
- 5:14players come in and play that basically the SEC is not allowed
- 5:18to punish them for it as a result.
- 5:20And it will be interesting to see how does the federal case
- 5:24end up taking this because they're there's no guarantee
- 5:28that the SEC is going to win. There's also no guarantee that
- 5:30LSU is going to win. You know, it could, there's a
- 5:32multitude of variable ways that it could end up, you know,
- 5:35completely panning out. And I'm not going to sit here
- 5:37and try to speculate, you know, how I think which one is going
- 5:40to go. And I do think they would
- 5:43probably have enough votes to be able to vote LSU out.
- 5:46Now, the key part with voting them out is they have to have
- 5:492/3 majority. So with 16 teams, they have to
- 5:52have at least 11 other teams that agreed to vote them out.
- 5:57I don't know who that would be. Again, I'm not going to sit here
- 5:59and try to speculate who I think would vote LSU out, who I think
- 6:03wouldn't vote LSU out. Here's the thing that I do want
- 6:07to point out though, that I think, and I mentioned this in
- 6:10my last show, I don't think the SEC would do it.
- 6:15And I think this is more of a, it's a bit of a flex.
- 6:19It's a look, if you're going to be a part of the SEC, you are
- 6:23going to comply with our rules, our guidelines.
- 6:25And if you don't, we will happily kick you out.
- 6:28And I think we're it, it starts to become muddy for the SEC as
- 6:34far as if they would kick LSU out or not is you have to look
- 6:38at one their meteor rights deal because according to Brady Quinn
- 6:44from Fox Sports Radio, who he go, he goes really in depth into
- 6:48a lot of the behind the scenes thing.
- 6:50And, and he even mentioned this as they were talking about like
- 6:53Kevin Warren and the Big 10 as far as their media meteorites
- 6:57deals. Apparently the media contracts
- 6:59have a lot to do with the reshaping of a lot of these
- 7:03conferences, with the reshaping of the lot of the college
- 7:06football landscape has had a big hand from the meteorites deals.
- 7:11So I don't know if the SEC would be able to do that and I don't
- 7:19know if one ESPN wouldn't let them.
- 7:21And especially given the current time with all of the Lane Kiffin
- 7:25drama, I don't think that they would let that type of a story,
- 7:29that type of a national headline go at at any point just because
- 7:36it's one of those you either love Lane as an LSU fan or you
- 7:41hating whether you're an LSU fan or not.
- 7:44And you know, even even as somebody who I dislike Alabama,
- 7:48you know, did I TuneIn to watch Alabama games to hopefully watch
- 7:51them lose? Absolutely.
- 7:53And it's going to be the exact same for LSU.
- 7:56The other thing that I say, and I even mentioned on my last show
- 7:58is, is where they stand as far as the SEC goes.
- 8:03When you look at the top 10, valuable, most valuable, you
- 8:07know, institutions, especially when it comes to their sports
- 8:10programs. LSU is 10th in the nation.
- 8:12They're sixth in the SEC behind Georgia, Alabama.
- 8:18Let's see Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Tennessee, Alabama,
- 8:26Georgia, Texas. I believe Oklahoma.
- 8:32There's like one other program that's in the SEC that's ahead
- 8:35of them as far as their overall value, but none the less like
- 8:39that's the amount of value that LSU brings to the SEC.
- 8:43Like they're 6th. They're your sixth most valuable
- 8:46institution as far as the money that they just bring in for
- 8:49themselves and the money and the value that they have as far as
- 8:52their sports teams and whatnot goes.
- 8:54So and they're one of your founding members of the SECI.
- 8:57Don't think they would voluntarily kick them out if
- 9:03they do. I don't think LSU is necessarily
- 9:06upset about that. Now, I do think if they kick LSU
- 9:09out, they've already mentioned, oh, we already have plenty of
- 9:11suitors that would be interested in joining the SCCI think I
- 9:14already know who. But again, what what is the
- 9:19legal, what is the legal loophole or what is the legal
- 9:23rabbit hole that you're willing to travel down in order to
- 9:27potentially get one of those teams from another conference
- 9:31that you feel would add enough value to the conference that you
- 9:37would be 1 willing to kick out LSU to get that you believe
- 9:41would bring the same type of value that LSU brings.
- 9:45And the only brand I can think of that would do it and is
- 9:50currently relevant has been relevant and brand wise is up
- 9:56there with LSU and would be the University of Miami.
- 10:00I think they're the only one that realistically they're
- 10:04unhappy in the ACC because of, I think just the overall fact that
- 10:07the ACC does not get as much money from their meteor rights
- 10:10deal. And I think the fact that Miami
- 10:12would want to be taking a little bit more seriously.
- 10:14I don't. And I don't think a lot of
- 10:16people are saying that right now, just especially especially
- 10:19now if Miami starts to run the ACC like we think they're going
- 10:23to and like a lot of people predict them are going to do as
- 10:26far as winning the conference goes.
- 10:28So I, I do think if anyone is going to replace LSU in the SEC,
- 10:33it would be Miami. But again, that's if the vote
- 10:36goes through. I truly think out of all of
- 10:39this, what I think is going to happen, I think they're going to
- 10:43have this vote. I don't know when the federal
- 10:45case is going to, you know, I don't know when any of the
- 10:48proceedings. I don't know when any of that's
- 10:49actually going to, you know, take place.
- 10:51I know the vote is supposed to happen Thursday.
- 10:55I truly think what they're going to do, they're going to have
- 10:57this vote. I don't think they kick LSU out,
- 11:00but I think Greg Sankey and the rest of the SEC and all of them
- 11:04basically go to LSU and say, hey, you either need to follow
- 11:09our rules or we will go as far as we need to go and we will
- 11:13kick you out as best as we have to.
- 11:15And Oh yeah, by the way, we already have the votes to.
- 11:18We've already voted on it. Basically, you're on thin ice.
- 11:21That's what it kind of seems like to me.
- 11:23It seems like more of this is the true standoff and you know,
- 11:27between Lane Kiffin, between LSU as a whole, you know, they're
- 11:30drawn the line in the sand and then they're coming right up to
- 11:32that line with their very, very tip toes as far as, oh, you
- 11:37know, we're not we're not over the line yet.
- 11:40So we'll see. Like I said, I think if they do
- 11:42kick out LSUI think the biggest replacement is Miami.
- 11:46That that's, that's just my, my quick little thoughts on it
- 11:50because there's there's a whole lot that goes into it.
- 11:52I mean, there's so much overall that just dives super deep into
- 11:58it, but let's keep going because I mean, we've got so much to
- 12:01talk about, so much to try to cram in really a good show.
- 12:05Really excited about all this as a whole.
- 12:08But let let's talk about some of the some of the games that took
- 12:11place for week 1. One of the big ones that kind of
- 12:14surprised me and I won't spend too much on this one just
- 12:17because I but I do think it was interesting.
- 12:19Colorado at Georgia Tech Colorado ended up actually
- 12:22getting the win. As much as it seemed like
- 12:25Colorado, you know, kind of look like themselves as really low
- 12:29scoring game as like 14 to 13. Georgia Tech actually got the
- 12:32ball, managed to work it all the way down to the end of the
- 12:36field, got in field goal range, got in position Colorado into
- 12:40blocking the field goal and coming away with the win.
- 12:43And there's a lot of people said that the referee seemed to be
- 12:46more in favor of Colorado and it seemed like they were more in
- 12:49favor of saving, you know, Deion Sanders job there Colorado.
- 12:55And I don't know if that's necessarily the case.
- 12:59I don't think that they're going as far as to try to save a guy's
- 13:03job, you know, and and and for all of us, you know, college
- 13:07football fans, and if you're a conspiracy theorist like me, you
- 13:12can make that argument for just about anything.
- 13:14I don't think that they're going that far now.
- 13:16He he is entertaining. He does bring a new he, he does
- 13:21bring an order to college football that that's hard to
- 13:23replicate because guys want to come there, they want to play
- 13:26for him, They they want to do all those different things.
- 13:30I don't think it's going that far that the referees are
- 13:34willing to do that. It it is one of those, when I
- 13:38was first looking at it, I actually had Georgia Tech
- 13:41winning. I thought that they would take a
- 13:43step back post Haynes King, post a lot of the guys they ended up
- 13:47losing to the NFL and what not, But I thought, OK, they're not
- 13:50going to be that bad. They should be able to beat a
- 13:52Colorado team that I just, I don't know what to expect from
- 13:54Colorado. I'm being completely wrong.
- 13:59And unfortunately in my in my picks this week, this was the
- 14:02one game I got wrong. I went eight and one out of nine
- 14:04games, which is pretty good. But this one I did not expect.
- 14:07This one I considered more of an upset.
- 14:10If I remember correctly, I believe it was even an upset
- 14:12according to DraftKings and ESPN both.
- 14:15So a little bit of surprise that Colorado ended up getting the
- 14:18win. I still don't have a lot of high
- 14:20hopes for Colorado as the season goes on, mostly because it's a
- 14:28win and I'm going to pull up Colorado's schedule.
- 14:33They're in the Big 12. So I mean, realistically
- 14:35anything for them is possible. But again, I I don't have high
- 14:40hopes. So they went to Georgia Tech.
- 14:42They host Weber State this week. That should be a win.
- 14:44They travel to Northwestern. That theoretically should be a
- 14:48win, but I mean, I don't really know what to expect that in
- 14:52Northwestern either. Then they go to Baylor, Probably
- 14:55not going to win that. They host Texas Tech, No.
- 14:58Host Utah, no. Now they go to Oklahoma State.
- 15:01Now that one's possible. That one's an absolute, you
- 15:02know, and that that one's a total, you know, toss up as far
- 15:06as if they can win it, if they can lose it, they host Kansas
- 15:09State, probably a loss. They go to Arizona State,
- 15:12probably a loss. They host Houston, probably a
- 15:15loss. They go to Cincinnati again, a
- 15:17little bit of a toss up. And then they host UCFI know
- 15:21last time UCF face them that UCF opened a a huge can on them.
- 15:26So I I don't expect Colorado to do anything crazy is a solid win
- 15:31for him. Maybe put some over the more
- 15:32wins than what they were probably supposed to.
- 15:35But yeah, I was IA little bit surprised, but a little bit not,
- 15:40you know what I mean? So yeah, nonetheless, very
- 15:44pretty, pretty solid game, little bit underwhelming, but
- 15:48wasn't upset about it at the end of the day.
- 15:50Let's move on to one of the other games too, that came up
- 15:53Friday that ended up actually being really not really good,
- 15:57but it was impressive more than anything just because of just
- 16:00because of two players, the three M's you had Malachi, Tony,
- 16:05Darien, Mensa at Miami, absolutely crushing Stanford all
- 16:11the way in their home stadium. This, this one, I'm not going to
- 16:15say this one was a surprise by no stretch of the imagination.
- 16:19When you you kind of look at Stanford, it's like, yeah,
- 16:21they're not really. They're not doing anything
- 16:24crazy. They don't have the biggest
- 16:26talent. This was Miami's first game this
- 16:28season. This was Stanford second after
- 16:30Stanford had a close game of Hawaii where they let Hawaii
- 16:33start to come back. But I mean, you know, Dairy and
- 16:37Mensa and Malachi Tony both, that was crazy.
- 16:41Dairy Mensa was 27 to 34101 yards, 5 passing touchdowns.
- 16:46Malachi Tony had 12 receptions for 234 yards and three
- 16:51touchdowns, which is absolutely insane, setting Miami records,
- 16:57which again, absolutely nuts. Like I said, This is why again,
- 17:02if if the SEC votes out LSUI, think Miami's who they're going
- 17:05to go with. But again, if they do, you have
- 17:09to be able to break. You have to not only break your
- 17:13own media contract deal, but then you have to break the ACCS
- 17:17and you have to try to be able to get Miami out of it.
- 17:20You have to be able to get them in.
- 17:21And then of course, how are you going to try to argue and spin,
- 17:25you know, oh, they should get this type of money.
- 17:28Are you really going to try to push it that hard?
- 17:30Is that, is that what you're trying to do here?
- 17:33Don't know if they will or not, but they can absolutely try
- 17:37nonetheless. Let's look at one of the other
- 17:40games. This, So this one, Alabama
- 17:43versus ECU, now this one, there really isn't a lot to talk
- 17:46about. Bama ultimately ended up taking
- 17:48care of business. I didn't know if they were going
- 17:50to at first when I was watching Keelan Russell, a lot of people
- 17:53are very high on him. It definitely seemed like more
- 17:56as the game went on. He got comfortable rolling
- 18:00around. He was definitely beating them
- 18:02with their legs with his legs more than anything in the
- 18:05pocket. And and and there is even at one
- 18:09point and again, it it's this is more as a as a Bama hater.
- 18:14I'll be the first to admit it as a Bama hater.
- 18:19And Bama fans. Let me know in the comments what
- 18:22you think. Ryan Coleman Williams I'm not
- 18:27going to say it's a complete and total fall off, but the
- 18:30depreciation is crazy. Like this was a kid that I mean
- 18:37to ESPN, everybody was gushing over this kid as as a freshman.
- 18:42You know, they're like, Oh my God, he's 17 years old.
- 18:44He's cooking defenses. Like I remember the the game
- 18:47against Georgia that they had, he went up and caught it, you
- 18:51know, beat like 2 defenders and just walked it in for a
- 18:54touchdown. Like it was insane.
- 18:57He really did have a phenomenal freshman year.
- 19:00I won't take anything away from the dude.
- 19:03Like he was absolutely great last year, a little bit of a
- 19:07little bit of a sophomore slump, literally of, you know, he was
- 19:11dropping a lot of passes. That was an issue throughout the
- 19:13whole entire year. The production was nearly there.
- 19:16I think he only had like 400 yard, like 4 or 600 yards, one
- 19:20of the two. And I think he only had like 4
- 19:23to 6 touchdowns. Like it was not a lot as far as
- 19:26his overall production goes. And then in this game, it's like
- 19:30he gets he took it. It took his mom's last name as
- 19:33far as Coleman. He changed his number to what he
- 19:35had when he was in high school. He decided he wasn't going to
- 19:39wear clubs this year, that he's just going to do bare hands.
- 19:42It's hot in Tuscaloosa, it's humid in Tuscaloosa.
- 19:46And I mean, he was just dropping extremely easy passes.
- 19:50It. It's one of those again, even
- 19:51even as a Bama hater, like I'm a realist.
- 19:53If, if, if, if the defender is all over him, you know, if he's
- 19:57having to just constantly, you know, get in double team, having
- 19:59to fight for contested catches if it's raining, if there's
- 20:02weather, something like that, like I, I'm a realist.
- 20:05Like he he's not going to catch every single pass that throws
- 20:07away. Like that's just, that's just
- 20:09not realistic. And he was like the one that was
- 20:12wide open, He jumped up in the air to go get it.
- 20:14It's like, dude, you didn't have to jump.
- 20:16It was falling in your lap. Like, it's cool you do the
- 20:19acrobatic athletic part, but what for what?
- 20:21Like why are you doing that, man?
- 20:24And it, it just did not, it was not pretty.
- 20:27The fact that he just openly dropped that he had a few other
- 20:29drops. It's like, man, I don't, I don't
- 20:32know what the issue is. Like I know everybody was
- 20:35talking about as far as some of the top wide receivers in
- 20:37college football, it was, you know, Jeremiah Smith and him.
- 20:41Honestly, if if, if we're picking top two wide receivers
- 20:44right now, it's Jeremiah Smith and Malachi Tony, like Ryan
- 20:48Coleman Williams not even in the conversation anymore.
- 20:51Then again, Bama fans can hate me all you want for that.
- 20:53I don't know if you agree or not.
- 20:55I feel like it's pretty honest take on him.
- 20:56Like, again, not hating the kid. He had a phenomenal freshman
- 20:59year last year, a little bit of a downslope.
- 21:01It's like, OK that that happens, like maybe maybe he regresses,
- 21:04people get used to him. You know, they've studied him,
- 21:07you know, he he's grown a little bit, like all right, he's a
- 21:09little bit different now this year and and again, it's only
- 21:12week 1. It's it's not like to expect
- 21:15total perfection. And you know, again, a lot of
- 21:17family fans probably tell me I'm just overreaching.
- 21:19It's overreaction and maybe it is, but against a team like ECU,
- 21:25the they started to fight back. There was a minute there that
- 21:29they ended up getting a touchdown and it's like, oh,
- 21:31maybe the momentum's swinging a little bit towards ECU's way and
- 21:35then Alabama ended up running with it and 1 convincingly 48 to
- 21:3910 that that that is still a little worrisome against a group
- 21:44of 16 like ECU. Again, no, no disrespect to
- 21:47them, but the the difference level is supposed to be there.
- 21:51Like no matter how much Alabama has regressed or how much they
- 21:54change from what they were, Nick Saban should be Alabama here,
- 21:58ECU here, like it. It shouldn't be even close.
- 22:02But again, that's just me personally.
- 22:05Another game actually that ended up being phenomenal.
- 22:08And I and this is going to sound crazy.
- 22:12And it's one of those, if you've listened to the show for a
- 22:14while, if you've, you know, bored yourself enough of wanting
- 22:18to wanting to hear me talk and wanting to hear my opinions on
- 22:21stuff, one that I thought, I mean, really deserved its
- 22:27flowers was Boise State and Oregon.
- 22:30I mean, great game. And the reason why I say that is
- 22:36the reason why I say, you know, you'll hear, hear my thoughts on
- 22:40it. And I forgot to put #2 Oregon,
- 22:43even though technically the ranking has changed, Boise State
- 22:48deserve to be ranked after that loss.
- 22:50Like, I know some people have Oregon actually moving down.
- 22:52I think the official top 25 even has Oregon moving down.
- 22:55I'll, I'll look as I, as I talk about it, like honestly, Boise
- 23:02State deserves to be ranked at that.
- 23:03Now, I'm not going to sit here and say that, you know, Oregon
- 23:06is bad. I'm not going to sit here and
- 23:07say that, you know, Boise State is just, you know, absolutely
- 23:10amazing. And they did drop Oregon down.
- 23:13Oregon's down number six. So from 2:00 to 6:00, a little
- 23:17bit of a drop, but I mean for a loss, like I, it would be hard
- 23:25pressed for me to say like they don't deserve to be in.
- 23:29They did drop Michigan completely out of the top 25
- 23:33from 16 because of the whole Western Michigan thing, which
- 23:35I'll get into here a bit and fun facts.
- 23:38So funny enough, out of the other receiving votes, Virginia
- 23:42made it in at 25, Boise State at 86.
- 23:46So I mean, they're just three points behind Virginia who ends
- 23:50up overtaking them, which I'm not completely upset at.
- 23:53You know, Virginia, they had a dominant win against NC State.
- 23:57Like they looked solid. You know, I'm sure they're going
- 24:00to continue to roll with that with absolutely no issue.
- 24:04But I do believe Boise State should be in the top 25.
- 24:07I don't really care where somewhere between 20 and 25.
- 24:11They need to be there. AB absolutely hands down.
- 24:16But it this is one that it to me, it kind of proves that for a
- 24:24team like Boise State, who for Boise State's credit, they're
- 24:27now three and two against Oregon all time.
- 24:30So they do have a winning record.
- 24:31I think it was either last year or year before last.
- 24:34I think it was the year before last when Oregon was the one
- 24:38seed for the play offs. I mean, they took him down in
- 24:40the wire. I mean, Oregon only ended up
- 24:41winning that field goal and you know, this this time they only
- 24:45ended up winning by a touchdown, but at one point they were down
- 24:49by 10 points. It was absolutely crazy.
- 24:52Terry, go go Boise State. Hey, it you know, it, I, I've
- 24:57never had an issue with Boise State.
- 24:59I never have. Like they're, they're a good
- 25:02group of 16. I feel like they're one of
- 25:04those. I kind of wish they were in a
- 25:06power conference just to see how well they would do.
- 25:10Like I know they're in the PAC 12 now and the PAC 12 is kind of
- 25:13like that quote, UN quote in between conference almost of
- 25:16like they're not quite powerful, but they're not quite totally
- 25:19group of 6. Like they're right there in the
- 25:21middle. And I feel like it's their
- 25:23conference to run away with. Like truly, I think if somebody
- 25:27was to offer Boise State like a true power conference to offer
- 25:30them, I think they should take it.
- 25:31I know media wise, you know, media market wise, Boise, but
- 25:35you know, Boise in the state of Idaho, not exactly the greatest,
- 25:39but if they didn't look good against Oregon, and this is a
- 25:42Oregon team that's highly, highly talented.
- 25:45I mean, recruits absolutely everywhere, five stars, they're
- 25:48seniors, a lot of first round picks, a lot of probably high,
- 25:51just NFL draft picks as a whole. They're Oregon are going to go
- 25:55there. Boise State came out, they came
- 25:57out swinging. They got the first hit.
- 25:59They were up 7 and nothing. Then next thing you know,
- 26:04they're up 14. Then Oregon was able to score
- 26:08and then seventeen to seven, then Oregon's able to at least
- 26:11get a touchdown, I believe before either touchdown or a
- 26:16field goal, one of the two before half to at least cut it
- 26:19to A1 score game. But yeah, they my personal
- 26:22opinion, I think Boise State deserves to be raised and
- 26:25they're real close. So at least ESPN, the rest of
- 26:27the committee, everybody like that agrees with me.
- 26:31One game, though, that was a little bit of a a
- 26:33disappointment, one that I didn't, I didn't really know
- 26:37what to expect with this game. I expected, I'm not going to say
- 26:42a high scoring game, but I expected it to just generally be
- 26:45better. And that was Baylor versus
- 26:47Auburn. If I remember right, this was in
- 26:51Atlanta. So I mean, it wasn't really a a
- 26:54whole game as it looked for Auburn, but I mean, it wasn't
- 26:58really a a support game for Baylor either.
- 27:04So I mean it is this was a game that to me kind of ultimately
- 27:10disappointed pulling up the stats Now I watched the game, I
- 27:15know Lagway was hurt. He completed 50% of his passes,
- 27:202 touchdowns a pick. You know, Brown come came over
- 27:25with Alex Golish from USF. He's 2635 through 3 picks.
- 27:31Not exactly a great way to start it.
- 27:34And I would be remorse if I didn't shout this out for for
- 27:39buddy Chase in our group chat. He wanted me to make sure that I
- 27:43noted Gavin Freeman this the senior wide receiver for Baylor.
- 27:48He had a monster game. He had 12 receptions, 154 yards
- 27:52and a touchdown in the loss. So I mean, he was their absolute
- 27:56best weapon for Lagway and for Baylor by far.
- 27:59He's if you truly wanted to give like a player of the game, it it
- 28:04would more than likely be Gavin Friedman.
- 28:06He was absolutely fantastic for him.
- 28:09It, it does leave a lot to wonder though, as far as Auburn
- 28:15is a team that there were a ton of transfers in all from USF,
- 28:19all in Alex Golish's system, which kind of makes you wonder
- 28:23because it, it didn't look like it, it looked like a bunch of
- 28:26transfers coming into a new system.
- 28:28It's like they were learning it for the first time and it was
- 28:32like they never worked together. It was very, very weird.
- 28:35Now, Baylor on the other hand, and Baylor is obviously been
- 28:39through kind of some rough times.
- 28:41Dave Arand is definitely on the hot seat as far as how his job's
- 28:44going to go. Now.
- 28:46I, I don't know if Baylor is in that what I would call like
- 28:50desperation mode enough that they would fire him during the
- 28:54season unless it just, he's really, really bad.
- 28:58Because I, I don't know how much of this you can blame on Dave
- 29:02Aranda and a lot of people, you know, they're not really, they
- 29:07don't want to blame it on DJ Lagway either because, I mean,
- 29:09he still threw for 300 yards. He still had two teddies.
- 29:12And of course that was basically on a broken ankle.
- 29:15But it it does make me wonder with him and another quarterback
- 29:20that I'm going to talk about here shortly, his overall
- 29:23development like what what what is D JS development like?
- 29:28And and I'm not just going to put this all on him.
- 29:31You know, he was with Billy Napier in Florida for two
- 29:33seasons. He had the outstanding freshman
- 29:35year. Last year was definitely a
- 29:38disappointment between guys really not performing the way
- 29:42that they're supposed to. I think a combination of Billy
- 29:45Napier was frustrated. He wouldn't let somebody else
- 29:47call plays. And it's it's kind of similar to
- 29:51like what Mike Hilco had at Texas A&M.
- 29:53Like they would, they could recruit really well, but you
- 29:56couldn't put it all together. And that was kind of the
- 29:58frustrating part. And I think a lot of things that
- 29:59really aggravated Florida and Florida fans is that you have
- 30:04all this talent, you're not doing anything with it.
- 30:07And for me, when I look at Baylor and I'm not going to sit
- 30:10here and make it make it seem like Baylor has, you know, super
- 30:145 stars absolutely loaded everywhere.
- 30:16Like, no, we got to be we got to be realistic.
- 30:18Now they have some players like they're still good, but I'm not
- 30:22going to sit here and act like they're, you know, a step above.
- 30:25But it it does make me wonder a 50% completion, 300 yards, 2
- 30:30teddies and pick while hurt. Like it still shows you're
- 30:34athletic. It still shows that you're good.
- 30:36You can make stuff work. You Can Dance around the pocket.
- 30:40But but if we know anything about a lot of guys that do
- 30:44that, that's not sustainable throughout the season.
- 30:47And I'm going to talk about it later with Sam Levitt, because I
- 30:50would say honestly the same thing for him.
- 30:53You know, John Mateer last year with Oklahoma, like he was the
- 30:56absolute baller. Like he was one of the
- 30:59favourites for the Heisman last year until, you know, get hurt,
- 31:02maybe kind of forced his way back and he he just wasn't the
- 31:05same. So is a little bit of a a
- 31:07disappointment Auburn ends up winning it just because TJ
- 31:10Blackway kind of makes a bad throw behind the tight end here
- 31:14for the two point conversion. Part of me does wonder.
- 31:17And again, it's when when you're there as a coach, it's like if
- 31:22you get it, oh, man, you're, you're a genius.
- 31:24You went for it. You took the gamble, You won.
- 31:26Your team's coming out with a win.
- 31:28But if you don't get it, aw, man, what are you doing?
- 31:30Why didn't you just kick the kick, the extra point going
- 31:32overtime and just see what happens from there?
- 31:34Kind of a damned if you do a damned if you don't kind of
- 31:36thing. So I get it.
- 31:38You know, your quarterback's hurt.
- 31:39Don't know how long he's going to be able to keep doing that.
- 31:41You don't want to continue to injure him or make it worse.
- 31:45So might as well just go for it and just see if it happens just
- 31:47to end it. But it's a it's a bit rough.
- 31:50But we'll we'll have to see how often rebounds because they have
- 31:53a, they have a tough test here in a couple weeks with Ryan
- 31:58Summerall coming into town with Florida.
- 32:01And we'll, we'll see who is the at least initially, who's the
- 32:05better hire, Alex Golisher or Summerall.
- 32:07We will, we will see. Let's move on to the the game
- 32:12that has probably the most controversy behind it,
- 32:16especially given what happened to end the game itself, Michigan
- 32:23and Western Michigan. This was absolutely crazy and
- 32:28there's been more to develop with this game since this has
- 32:32happened. So I'll go ahead and read what
- 32:38the initial statement was from the Big 10 and as as compared to
- 32:45now. So as it stands currently, the
- 32:48Big 10 statement and this was I think like two or three in the
- 32:52morning after after this was over.
- 32:57So following video review, it was determined Western
- 32:59Michigan's number 18 started his jump from an established out of
- 33:02bounds position, his left foot and made contact with the ball
- 33:06with one second remaining on the clock as shown.
- 33:08The provided video of what was viewed during the replay process
- 33:12as side by side view of the play and the game clock using a
- 33:16direct shot of the game clock in the stadium was used to
- 33:19determine the final ruling 85 minutes prior to the game.
- 33:22All broadcast camera used for the replay system, including the
- 33:25camera on the game clock, are synced using a strobe system to
- 33:28ensure all cameras are aligned for NCAA Rule 4-2-3-A.
- 33:35A ball not in player control other than a kick that scores a
- 33:39field goal is out of bounds when it touches the ground.
- 33:42A player, a game official, or anything else that is out of
- 33:45bound or that is on or outside a boundary line.
- 33:49Thus the clock is stopped. Was Mac.
- 33:53The Mac Conference then responded said upon the
- 33:58conclusion of the Western Michigan football game, the Mid
- 34:01American Conference and Western Michigan contacted Mid 10 office
- 34:05to seek clarification regarding the replay review and the
- 34:08placement time. Back on the game clock.
- 34:11The Big 10 explain to the ball touched the player who's out of
- 34:13bounds before the clock reach zeros, resulting in one
- 34:16additional play being awarded. The Big 10 subsequently provided
- 34:19video and audio of the replay which confirmed the explanation
- 34:21provided to us. I come in Western Michigan for
- 34:23an outstanding effort and well played game and Ioffer my
- 34:27congratulations to Michigan. Also appreciate the
- 34:29collaborative effort of the Big 10 office in its prompt response
- 34:32in reviewing the play and providing the requested
- 34:34clarification. Now this of course happened
- 34:37Saturday night, Sunday morning. Well, it has since changed
- 34:41because I believe between a combination of reviewing,
- 34:45probably even people whispering in the ear as far as being upset
- 34:47and like, hey, this is a little this little screwed up.
- 34:51So this is from the Mid American Conference Commissioner Dr.
- 34:54Stein. Doctor John Steinbrecher said
- 34:58after further study and investigation, it's now evident
- 35:00that replay protocol was not properly followed in the
- 35:03determining of whether time remained on the game clock at
- 35:06the conclusion of the Western Michigan versus Michigan
- 35:08football game. The established replay protocol
- 35:10requires that game clock displayed on the program feed be
- 35:14used in determining whether time remain.
- 35:16Instead, the Big 10 Conference replay crew relied upon a clock
- 35:20feed embedded within the replay system.
- 35:22As a result, one second was placed back on the game clock
- 35:25and an additional play was awarded.
- 35:27This was not a judgement regarding the proper amount of
- 35:29time to place on the clock, It was an error in the application
- 35:32of the established replay protocol governing this specific
- 35:35end of game timing situation. Had the protocol been properly
- 35:39followed and the and the program feed clock been used, no
- 35:42additional play would have been awarded and the Western Michigan
- 35:44would have won the game 12 to 7. As a result, the Mid American
- 35:48Conference has submitted formal appeals to the NCAA F BS
- 35:52Oversight Committee and the College Football Playoff.
- 35:55The Mac is requesting that those bodies recognize Western
- 35:58Michigan as the actual winner of the game for the purpose of
- 36:00their respective rankings, evaluations and selection
- 36:04deliberations, and take such other corrective action as maybe
- 36:07within their authority. I do have a few thoughts on this
- 36:12because I ultimately like most everybody else, even though I
- 36:16didn't watch this game because I didn't have a dog in this fight,
- 36:21like it's really I didn't have a dog in the final source Michigan
- 36:24versus Western Michigan goes it it doesn't change and it was
- 36:27screwed up and it doesn't change that it was weird how the Big 10
- 36:32ended up going about it. And truthfully, if it if I was
- 36:39the big 10, this is how I probably would have done it.
- 36:43And again, it I don't know if it would have changed anything if I
- 36:48was the Big 10 and say, hey, you know, out of bounds player
- 36:52touched the ball first like it's a defensive penalty.
- 36:56The game cannot end on a defensive penalty.
- 36:59Michigan gets one free play. And I think had you done that
- 37:04and the clock still be at 0, But again, just reiterate it's a
- 37:09defensive penalty. The game cannot end on a
- 37:12defensive penalty because the player out of bounds touched the
- 37:14ball. Michigan gets one free play and
- 37:19then go from there. That would have probably been
- 37:23better. Here's the other part that I
- 37:26would potentially argue, and it's not even really in defense
- 37:31of Michigan. I would just say it's overall
- 37:35kind of the unfortunate part of the game is you, you no matter
- 37:43what, whether they put the one second back on the clock or not,
- 37:48if they did, you got to go put that effort out there for one
- 37:52more play. Now I I do get the counter
- 37:54argument. They already had it one the
- 37:56clock was already at zero 100% understand that.
- 38:00Again, I am not defending Michigan.
- 38:02You look at all the helmets I have right here.
- 38:04Ain't none of them have little Wolverine stripes on there.
- 38:08I don't have an M on there. I have not a dog fight with
- 38:11Michigan. It's still a game even though
- 38:15they unfortunately put the one more second on there.
- 38:18You got to make one more play. You just got to you got to make
- 38:21one more play to keep them from being able to do it.
- 38:25Whether that's extra defenders, whether that's you have just one
- 38:28guy rush, and then you just have everybody else playing defense
- 38:32in the end zone, making sure everybody's covered to hopefully
- 38:36make sure that it doesn't happen again.
- 38:39But that that doesn't change that it it was screwed up that
- 38:43they put another second on the clock.
- 38:44And it's unfortunate that Western Michigan ended up
- 38:47losing. Here's the thing.
- 38:49I think, though, that if I'm Western Michigan, you, yes, you
- 38:55still have the loss on your record.
- 38:56Now, who knows, You know what the College Football Playoff
- 38:59committee is going to do. Who knows what the NCAA is going
- 39:01to do. Again, you notice when I was
- 39:04talking about the top 25 poll earlier, Michigan's out.
- 39:08They dropped Michigan down in the top 25.
- 39:12And I'll have to look and see if how how badly they dropped them
- 39:18out. So let's see, they dropped
- 39:22Michigan out. So the other, well, I thought
- 39:27that would end up expanding it a little bit more.
- 39:29It didn't. I just had to see for for
- 39:32giggles. So Virginia's at 25.
- 39:36They completely move up. Basically everybody moved up
- 39:38like a spot. The exception of Oklahoma.
- 39:41They moved down one. Texas A&M moved down to LSU
- 39:44moved up 3, which shown wrong. Happy LSU one about to talk
- 39:47about that here in a second. Don't really understand why, but
- 39:50you know, I, I'm not going to be personally upset about it, but
- 39:54the other teams getting receiving votes.
- 39:57Boise State at 86. Keep in mind Virginia has 89.
- 40:00So Boise State's right there outside the top 25.
- 40:03So they're at about 26. Florida is at 83, Michigan is at
- 40:0869. So they're technically, what,
- 40:1228th right now with a pretty commanding lead over Arizona,
- 40:17Memphis, South Carolina and Western Michigan.
- 40:19So I mean, to an extent, you know, it is kind of a showing
- 40:24that, hey, you did win because you knocked Michigan out of the
- 40:28top 25. Now they still have the win on
- 40:32their record, but I mean, it does, it does show that there is
- 40:36a little bit of progress. Tracer is happy about that.
- 40:39I know it's always a good time whenever Michigan loses.
- 40:41Let me be honest, like a little Sparty helmet back there that
- 40:43I've got, I can. There we go.
- 40:46It's hard to hard to do that on the on the camera because we've
- 40:48got to remember it's kind of backwards.
- 40:50It's backwards, but it's not. It's always a great day when
- 40:54Michigan loses, but it it is a crazy thing that that that ended
- 40:58up happening and how it kind of that whole entire thing was
- 41:01truly mishandled. And we'll we'll see what ends up
- 41:04going forward with it. My favorite game of the weekend,
- 41:08though, we had Clemson versus LSU and man, did LSU deliver.
- 41:16And if it again, if anybody watched the show last week, I
- 41:20did not know what to expect of this game.
- 41:21I didn't want to pick. I didn't even really want to
- 41:25make this pick, to be fully honest with you.
- 41:26I was like, man, I don't know what to expect of this.
- 41:28I don't know if they're going to win.
- 41:29I don't know if they're not going to win.
- 41:31I just, I just don't know. They end up winning 5110.
- 41:37Absolutely. Dominique Clemson, It was like
- 41:3951 to 3 for the longest time before, before they finally were
- 41:45able to just kind of score a garbage time touchdown to make
- 41:48the score not as bad. Here's the only couple of things
- 41:52that I took away that I would consider negative from this
- 41:55game. Lane Kiffin definitely wants to
- 41:58run the ball absolutely great and it seems like it's going to
- 42:00be a running back by committee even better.
- 42:03And for a kid from Wisconsin, Dylan, Dylan Jones, absolutely
- 42:09great by the way, I think he ran the ball like 20 times and
- 42:12finally broke over 100 yards. He had a couple touchdowns, just
- 42:17ground a pound bruiser and of course Levitt had over 100 yards
- 42:21rushing which is great. Here's the thing that worried
- 42:24me. The second play of LSU's first
- 42:27drive on offense, Levitt throws an interception.
- 42:30Now not his fault. That was also majority on the
- 42:33receiver for basically letting it happen.
- 42:37They were able to hold Clips to a field goal and that's pretty
- 42:39much the last points they scored the game so close to the end.
- 42:44But he he runs very carelessly. Sam Levitt does and I know he
- 42:48used to be a safety, so and he takes care of his body really
- 42:52well. He's not going to be the type of
- 42:53slides and it's great. You can't do that through a full
- 42:58SEC schedule. You you just can't.
- 43:01Like it's not that's not feasible.
- 43:03It's not going to be feasible when you face Texas A&M.
- 43:06It's definitely not going to be feasible when you face Ole Miss
- 43:09cause Ole Miss is going to be coming hard, and I mean hard at
- 43:14every LSU player and especially Elaine Kiffin.
- 43:17Like Ole Miss players are going to be hitting like a Mack truck
- 43:21plus extra in that game. That is going to be an absolute
- 43:25dogfight. So I mean, Ole Miss, Texas A&M,
- 43:31you know, a little bit later on, you got Alabama, you got Texas,
- 43:34you've got Tennessee. Like those are five games right
- 43:38there. You cannot run around that much
- 43:43and play that hard. If you're Sam Levitt and hope
- 43:47that you don't get hurt, it's it's just not feasible.
- 43:50It's not realistic. I just, I hope he takes better
- 43:54care of himself. And I hope, and again, it's just
- 43:57the first game. All of these are just first
- 43:58games. Like there's still growth to
- 44:00happen. There's a lot of rust.
- 44:02There's a lot of getting used to each other, the chemistry, the
- 44:04systems, like all of that. So I'm not, I'm not
- 44:07overreacting, I'm not saying it's gloom and doom, like I am
- 44:10happy of a 51 to 10 win to just start things out.
- 44:14But it it does leave me a little worried.
- 44:16There is something I want to throw out there before I move on
- 44:18from this topic with with with Dabo Sweeney and kind of the
- 44:24fall off of Clemson. And I'm not going to dive too
- 44:26deep into this. I'm hoping for anybody who's
- 44:29watched the show before Porter Hayes, who is a host of the Hog
- 44:33Talk, that's HAWG talk. He's primarily an Arkansas fan,
- 44:37but he does like Clemson as well.
- 44:40I kind of asked him, you know, is it time to move on from Dabo?
- 44:43And somebody made this graphic that was pretty solid.
- 44:46Clemson 2012 to 2020. Now obviously Dabo's been there
- 44:50Clemson for significantly longer than that.
- 44:52From 2012 to 2020, they were 1:14 and 12:00.
- 44:55They were 15 and 9 against top ten teams.
- 44:57They were 26 and 12 against top 25 teams.
- 45:00They're 15 and six against SEC teams, nine and four post season
- 45:04games, 8 and one in season openers.
- 45:06In 2021 to now, Clemson 47 and 21, two and six versus top ten
- 45:12teams, 9 and 9 versus top 25 teams for 8 versus the SEC, two
- 45:17and three in post game season games, one and five in season
- 45:20openers. And then people were kind of
- 45:22bringing up Brett Vinnibles because Brett Vinnibles was the
- 45:26defensive coordinator for Clemson there for a long time.
- 45:29And I mean a long he was there for 9 years with Dabo.
- 45:34So Clemson before Brett Venables 2008 to 2011, he was 32 and 22.
- 45:39Davos when he was with Brett Venables 2012, 21121 and 17.
- 45:45Two national titles, 10 first round picks after Brett Venables
- 45:4937 and 18. So there there probably is a lot
- 45:53as far as Brett Venables being able to recruit as far as being
- 45:55able to keep guys there. I think a lot of it is Dabo just
- 45:59doesn't want to adapt. He doesn't want to adapt to use
- 46:01the transfer portal on the first time he does, he gets a burn
- 46:04fired because he loses the kid to he loses the kid to old miss.
- 46:08So I mean, I, I get the hesitation.
- 46:10I get that Clemson has a huge buyout on him.
- 46:13I don't know who they would get to replace him that would
- 46:15potentially bring Clemson back to that type of relevance,
- 46:19unless you wanted to try to poach Britt Vittables or if you
- 46:22wanted to try to poach Tony Elliott from Virginia.
- 46:26But I feel like both of those guys are pretty happy and well
- 46:28established with where they're at.
- 46:29I don't know if you'd be able to pull them.
- 46:31You try, but we'll see. The other game, that was a
- 46:34little bit of a surprise, at least in the first half because
- 46:37they kept it so close, Wisconsin versus Notre Dame.
- 46:40Notre Dame, you know, they they end up finally taking care of
- 46:42business. It was like 13 to 10, though.
- 46:45And I'll be honest, when I was looking at it, it's like I
- 46:47picked Notre Dame to win. Why is Wisconsin actually
- 46:51putting up half of a fight? Like, I don't, I don't really
- 46:53care for this much, but Notre Dame ultimately ended up taking
- 46:58the win. The run game is definitely a
- 47:02question mark for Notre Dame, though.
- 47:03It is a huge question mark on whether or not they're going to
- 47:07continue to be able to do what they need to do.
- 47:10As far as Cisco supposed to be one of the best defenses in
- 47:12college. I mean, again, they only left 13
- 47:14points. But at first Wisconsin, they
- 47:16were able to do pretty much anything they wanted to do.
- 47:19It was a again, first game of the season.
- 47:23It's a little bit of an overreaction, but it, it kind of
- 47:26makes you worry and, and maybe Wisconsin's gotten that much
- 47:29better. I, I still say Luke Fickle is up
- 47:32there as far as my coaches in the, the hot seat up there with
- 47:37one of the guys I'm going to talk about next here in just a
- 47:39minute. But I mean, hey, if they are,
- 47:42that's great. I I like seeing Wisconsin back
- 47:45to being good, being decent and being competitive, especially in
- 47:49the Big 10. We just unfortunately have not
- 47:52seen it out of Luke Fickle. Now for the last few years he's
- 47:54been there. Another game that started out a
- 47:58little bit of a little bit of a disappointment, but ultimately
- 48:03ended up actually being pretty decent.
- 48:04Louisville versus old miss the first half of this game.
- 48:08That was rough, man. The game was ugly.
- 48:11The game was rough. It was ugly.
- 48:12There's there's nothing sexy about that game by any stretch
- 48:16of the imagination. Ole Miss was turning the ball
- 48:19over. It was like 17 to 17 to 13 or
- 48:24something like that. Going to the half or 17 to 14.
- 48:26Like again, it was an ugly game. Ole Miss.
- 48:29And then both finally just trade blows back and forth, finally
- 48:33able to get the win it. It does make me wonder.
- 48:38Not not as much this game, probably not even as much next
- 48:42game because Ole Miss, I think, faces the complete total nobody
- 48:45as far as their schedule goes. And it's not until week 3 that
- 48:48they face LSU like that. That's going to be the big one.
- 48:53It does make me wonder what does Ole misses offense look like as
- 48:59the year goes on? And it's and it's not like I
- 49:03expected them to, you know, go crazy against Louisville by no
- 49:07stretch of the imagination. Again, let's be realistic.
- 49:10And they Ole Miss faces Charlotte this week.
- 49:14But it it does make me kind of wonder what does what does an
- 49:19offense look like? Like can it be as prolific
- 49:23without Charlie Wise and without Kurt Woodlane?
- 49:26Kevin? I mean, again, they still have
- 49:28Trinidad Chambliss, they still K1 Lacey.
- 49:30Now I know he got hurt. So we'll who knows what his
- 49:32status is ultimately going to end up being as the season
- 49:35continues. But it does make me wonder, can
- 49:39old misses offense still hang like what they did last year
- 49:43with losing 2 of their big offensive minds?
- 49:45So we'll we'll find out and see. And of course, the the game that
- 49:51took forever and then actually ended up being, I would say a
- 49:55little bit better than what we thought.
- 49:58And it is kind of funny because I talked to a couple people
- 50:01about this game earlier and they were talking about Mike Norville
- 50:07finally being on the hot seat. Like he's been on the hot seat
- 50:09for the last couple of years. Like it's just it got worse this
- 50:13particular season, Florida State actually held pretty well up
- 50:18with SMU despite the power surge at the beginning.
- 50:21So they didn't have any coach coms.
- 50:23They didn't have the scoreboards lit up.
- 50:26They didn't have, it was literally like 1990s football as
- 50:30far as like they had to do hand signs.
- 50:31They had to do this, they had to do that and both teams had to do
- 50:34it. So that way it was a, it was an
- 50:36equal thing. There was nobody that had an
- 50:38edge over the other one. And and it's here's the other
- 50:44sad part. It seemed like most of the kids
- 50:46in Florida State were playing their absolute butt off.
- 50:48The running back was doing great for Florida State.
- 50:51The quarterback Ashton Daniels did pretty decently well.
- 50:55And it seemed like SMU just kind of kept tripping over
- 50:57themselves. And it's kind of like they were
- 50:59trying to give Florida State the game and Florida State still
- 51:02ends up coming short. It it it's kind of the same
- 51:07thing that I would say with Dabo and Clemson.
- 51:10And I, and I would say this really for any big time program
- 51:13that wants to get rid of a coach that they've had for a while or
- 51:18that they've had success with even as far, you know, I know
- 51:21Mike Norvell as as recent as 2023.
- 51:24And that's that's been a while. But if you get rid of him, who
- 51:29do you get to replace him? Like I'm not saying there aren't
- 51:33guys out there. I'm not saying there are
- 51:35coordinators out there that probably wouldn't be interested,
- 51:38that probably wouldn't, you know, make maybe a decent and
- 51:41positive change and a positive impact right off of that.
- 51:45But again, who do you, who do you really think or trust that
- 51:48would be a step above what you have currently?
- 51:52And, and let's be realistic too, as far as you know, the, the NIL
- 51:57as far as recruiting, as far as all of that goes.
- 51:59And I mean you, you have to look at it as well.
- 52:03Yes, you can, you can pay these dudes ton of money and they'll
- 52:05come like if I'm some of these guys and it's like, well, I want
- 52:10to make money, but I also want to go in the NFL and I want to
- 52:12make money. Like where am I just programs
- 52:14I'm going to be able to do that with.
- 52:16It's like if I'm, if I'm truly a talented player, like I'm going
- 52:19to Ohio State, I'm going to Georgia, I'm going to LSU, going
- 52:23to Oregon, like I'm going to Texas and going to Tennessee.
- 52:28I'm not going to Florida State. Like if I got a pick, like I'm
- 52:31not going. They're not saying they still
- 52:33don't produce and they still won't produce to your talent.
- 52:35They absolutely will. But that that's kind of how I
- 52:38look at it. So it it kind of sucks for for
- 52:41Florida State. It's one of those I do like
- 52:43seeing them good. I like seeing them competitive,
- 52:46you know, they're just kind of one of those classic brands,
- 52:49especially for the ACC. But yeah, it's it's definitely
- 52:54dark times for the Knowles ahead.
- 52:56We'll we'll see how they ultimately end up doing.
- 52:59Let's get into some of the games coming up, though.
- 53:01I'm not going to go through all of the all of the ones, but I am
- 53:04going to go through some of the bigger ones.
- 53:06You got Missouri Kansas old rivalry game from Big 12 coming
- 53:10back. This one, I'm not even going to
- 53:14go through the East pain predictor, but I'm excited.
- 53:16I don't really know what to expect in a Kansas.
- 53:18I kind of know what to expect a little bit more out of Missouri,
- 53:20but not Kansas. But I mean with it being a
- 53:22rivalry game, they're going to absolutely fight pretty hard
- 53:25tooth and nail. Bosca Horican at Oklahoma State
- 53:29now Oklahoma State. They lost to Tulsa.
- 53:32They lost to Tulsa real bad. The Mike Norris or Eric Norris
- 53:35won the 2 they're in. Stillwater did not plan out the
- 53:41first game, did not pan out the way that they wanted it to.
- 53:44Again, it's first game this season.
- 53:46I expect them to be able to hopefully get back on track, be
- 53:49able to roll with it. But it's it, it's probably not
- 53:53going to be pretty. It wasn't pretty last year with
- 53:55Mike Gundy. It's probably not going to be
- 53:57pretty again. This one, though, this is the
- 54:00big one that I think everybody wants to see.
- 54:03And now Michigan, Michigan's unranked, but still Oklahoma
- 54:07going to Michigan this time. This is the game that John
- 54:10Mateer had last year, absolutely broke out and went crazy on
- 54:15Michigan 4. And it it was, it was electric
- 54:19like it was, it was fun to see. I know a lot of people are going
- 54:23to be like, the clock can't save them now.
- 54:26And they're not necessarily wrong.
- 54:30So we'll we'll ultimately see how this ends up going.
- 54:32I I think Oklahoma just absolutely dominates in this.
- 54:36I have a ton of questions as far as Bryce Underwood goes.
- 54:39I mentioned the development as far as DJ Blackway, like Bryce
- 54:43is what really makes me question.
- 54:45And I mean, you can you can do a combination of, you know, was it
- 54:48Sharon Moore? Was it all the off the field
- 54:50distractions with Sharon Moore? Obviously last year, he's 18.
- 54:53He was a freshman. He got thrown into the fire.
- 54:55You know, he's supposed to make kind of magic happen at work.
- 54:58I mean, they still end up going nine and three.
- 54:59So they were good. But man, that game against
- 55:02Western Michigan, it was like that was that was rough.
- 55:05And again, maybe he gets better as the season goes on.
- 55:07It's the first game of the season.
- 55:09It's a little rusty. You know, ultimately, let's see
- 55:12how it how it pans out as the season goes on.
- 55:14But I I would not be surprised if they don't potentially bench
- 55:19Underwood now, will they? Because of the amount of money?
- 55:22I doubt it. But also at the same time, how
- 55:26how much does Michigan feel that they're truly competitive right
- 55:29now to the point where they could either make an argument or
- 55:33make a push for the Big 10 championship or or not even that
- 55:38if they could potentially make a spot for the College Football
- 55:41Playoffs, I don't see it happening personally.
- 55:45I know they're going to try, but this game is going to be a big
- 55:48determining factor in I think how the rest of Michigan's
- 55:51season ends up going and unfortunately how Kyle
- 55:54Whittingham, Kyle Whittingham's time goes in Michigan.
- 55:58I, I'm not saying that he's on the clock as far as you know, I
- 56:00don't think he has a time limit with him, but it's one of those.
- 56:04I think he, I think all the rumors of him wanting to retire
- 56:08at Utah were true. I think they were wanting to
- 56:10kind of move on and go to a different direction.
- 56:12I think Michigan wanted somebody that was established, credible,
- 56:16will definitely build your program back up from the
- 56:18absolute mess that it's become because of Harbaugh and Moore
- 56:21and all the off the field stuff issues and whatnot.
- 56:25It, it just sucks to see Kyle Whittingham have to go through
- 56:27that. Just personally, I, I hate
- 56:29seeing it. I like watching him at Utah.
- 56:30It just sucks he's got to go through this.
- 56:34One of the other big games that is going to be it's going to
- 56:36answer kind of a lot of questions that I have at least
- 56:39about one team in particular. The other one, it's like, OK,
- 56:42we'll it again. It's just seeing what does the
- 56:45evolution look like post Nick Saban?
- 56:47What does Kentucky look like with Will Stein?
- 56:50Joy, how are you, man? Appreciate you tuning in.
- 56:55You know what, what does Kentucky look like with Will
- 56:58Stein? You know, there's been a ton of
- 57:00hype. He seems like a funny dude.
- 57:01They got the win last week. He's like, I just want to go
- 57:04home and have a beer. And I think he ended up dropping
- 57:07the F bomb. People were laughing like it.
- 57:09It seems like brighter times have come to Kentucky, which is
- 57:14which is great. And this is going to be Oh, man,
- 57:18Oklahoma, damn it. I look like a goober now.
- 57:22Damn it. I was building graphics.
- 57:24I had Oklahoma before this. Damn it.
- 57:26That's a goober move. But you know, how does how does
- 57:32Alabama look against a team like Kentucky and how does Kentucky
- 57:35rebound against a team like Alabama?
- 57:38And can they prove that they are truly back and at least
- 57:41competitive in the SEC? Another one that's going to be
- 57:45pretty good. Tennessee at Georgia Tech again,
- 57:48you know, how does Georgia Tech ultimately end up looking?
- 57:50How does Tennessee with Brandon Faison, Brandon ultimately end
- 57:56up looking because he I was a little worried about their win
- 57:59against Furman. Ultimately they end up getting
- 58:02the win, but I was like, damn, there's a couple, couple of
- 58:05moments I'm like, why are you struggling?
- 58:07But again, first game he's a freshman.
- 58:09He's getting used to everybody getting the chemistry and
- 58:11whatnot. Not super worried about it.
- 58:12I think Tennessee ultimately handles business with little to
- 58:16no issue, but it'll still be interesting.
- 58:19Innovator CC of Georgia Tech can kind of bounce back too, but
- 58:22it's going to be a rough season for Georgia Tech.
- 58:26Then of course, the the one that isn't going to get as much love
- 58:29closely because again, I kind of expect this one to be a bit more
- 58:32of a dumpster fire. The Seihawk trophy, Iowa versus
- 58:36Iowa State, Iowa State, Matt Campbell's gone, rocket effect
- 58:39is gone. Basically their whole roster
- 58:40went N to Penn State. So I think I was going to get
- 58:45probably a pretty decent free win here.
- 58:49It it, it's going to kind of suck because I do.
- 58:51It's one of these rivalries. The Yeah, I think unless you're
- 58:54from the state or unless you're from kind of the Midwest, you
- 58:56really just don't enjoy this as much.
- 58:58I've, I've grown up kind of watching this rivalry quite a
- 59:01bit, and I've always enjoyed it. Plus, I had an old supervisor
- 59:05that was a Hawkeyes fan. He's kind of an asshole.
- 59:07So always for Iowa State winning this game, even though it's not
- 59:10going to happen this time, but I can always hope.
- 59:14And, of course, the big headline game for college football this
- 59:17coming Saturday, the one that everybody wants to tune in for.
- 59:21I'm gonna be honest, when when I do my picks this week, I don't
- 59:24know who I'm going to pick this. It's an absolute toss up.
- 59:27When I last look at the the like the DraftKings, it's like Ohio
- 59:32State by 1 1/2. Like that's how close of a coin
- 59:36flip game this really is. It's a revenge game for Texas.
- 59:39It's a revenge game for Arch Manning.
- 59:41Ohio State goes to Texas in their house to see how they end
- 59:45up faring. You know, a lot of Texas's guys,
- 59:49they just, they, they did not perform well last year on paper,
- 59:52they look great on the field. The offensive line didn't do
- 59:56well. He didn't arch, didn't really
- 59:57have much of A running game. Their wide receivers
- 59:59underperformed. But now he has a legitimate wide
- 1:00:02receiver in Cam Coleman. He's got Hollywood, some others.
- 1:00:05The defense, of course, is still playing better and better.
- 1:00:08The offensive line should be better.
- 1:00:11And for Ohio State, you still got Jeremiah Smith, you still
- 1:00:13got Julian saying, you still got Bo Jackson and running back so.
- 1:00:18It this is one that it's this one is an absolute toss up.
- 1:00:23Surely they both suck. Well, I mean, we know Texas
- 1:00:27does. We know Texas does.
- 1:00:29I don't really have any issues much with Ohio State.
- 1:00:31Again, I from the Midwest, I've lived in Ohio for about 3 years.
- 1:00:34I was surrounded by Buckeyes fans.
- 1:00:35I don't mind them unless LSU beat them last time they faced
- 1:00:39them in a national championship, LSU won.
- 1:00:41So, you know, it's like, yeah, not worry about Ohio State.
- 1:00:45But but now I mean, this, this really is going to be hopefully
- 1:00:49a fun game, hopefully better than last year's when it was 14
- 1:00:52to 7 and it was kind of a snooze fest the entire time.
- 1:00:56I think it should be. I think now that the teams, you
- 1:00:59know, it's not the first game of the season, we don't have to
- 1:01:01worry about the rust on everybody.
- 1:01:02Like, you know, Ohio State beat up on Ball State, Texas beat up
- 1:01:05on Texas State. Like OK, now you guys have some
- 1:01:09some quality marshmallow cupcakes for your appetizer.
- 1:01:12Now let's see how y'all ultimately end up doing against
- 1:01:15each other. There's a lot of people have
- 1:01:16theorized that whoever loses this game is probably going to
- 1:01:19be knocked out of the college football play offs.
- 1:01:22I know Ohio State has kind of a brutal, brutal schedule.
- 1:01:24Texas does too. I don't necessarily think
- 1:01:27they'll be out because I hear here's the thing.
- 1:01:30The biggest thing is as long as you don't lose a second game to
- 1:01:34a quote UN quote bad opponent. Like I don't see Ohio State
- 1:01:37tripping up against somebody like Maryland.
- 1:01:38I don't see them tripping up against somebody like
- 1:01:41Northwestern if they face, I don't know if they face either
- 1:01:44one of them or not, but I don't I don't see that happening.
- 1:01:45Same with Texas, Like if Texas has to face vanity, I don't see
- 1:01:49them tripping up, but they I know they have to face
- 1:01:51Mississippi State again, I don't see them tripping up against
- 1:01:53Mississippi State. So even if you do, like you can
- 1:01:56make the argument, well, I have a loss to a top five team again,
- 1:01:58I I hate quality losses. I hate that terminology so much.
- 1:02:02But at the end of the day, it is true.
- 1:02:04Like, yeah, if I'm going to have a loss, I'd rather have a loss
- 1:02:08to a top five ranked team that I would a really bad team.
- 1:02:12Like just at the end of the day, that's that's how I would look
- 1:02:15at it. And more than likely that's how
- 1:02:16the committee is the the committee is going to look at it
- 1:02:21too. So I'm excited.
- 1:02:23I don't know who I'm going to pick with this game.
- 1:02:24It might be honestly one of those I flip a coin and just
- 1:02:27hope for the hope for the overall best.
- 1:02:32But as that ends our college football talk, of course, the
- 1:02:35NFL starts this week. They actually start tomorrow and
- 1:02:39I was going to go over real quick some of the some of the
- 1:02:43games that we have going on for NFL Week 1.
- 1:02:45I am going to do a pick for the like picks for the NFL.
- 1:02:50Don't know how well I'm going to do so far in college.
- 1:02:54I'm like 9 and two in my pick so far.
- 1:02:56I did really well last year. I had like 237 wins, so like 101
- 1:03:02losses. I think overall it was
- 1:03:04absolutely solid. I was really kind of impressed
- 1:03:07with my my overall in let's see, I was of course, I don't have it
- 1:03:12on there. Let me see, I have it in another
- 1:03:16part. I just don't have any.
- 1:03:17As soon as my computer loads with it, there we go.
- 1:03:29OK, so last year, yeah, I was 230 and one-on-one and my
- 1:03:39regular season picks now playoff and conference championship
- 1:03:42picks, I was 8 and seven. I was barely above 500, but I
- 1:03:46got the I got the national championship correct.
- 1:03:51The regular season I was 230 and 101.
- 1:03:53So I did pretty decent last year as far as my picks go.
- 1:03:56So hopefully I'll be able to do the same thing this year with my
- 1:04:00NFL picks. But we will, we will absolutely
- 1:04:03find out. But again, let's go over some of
- 1:04:06the games though that we've got coming up for Week 1.
- 1:04:09First we got the Patriots taking on Seattle Super Bowl rematch.
- 1:04:14I'm going to pick Seattle again in this one.
- 1:04:16Really their biggest loss was Kenneth Walker.
- 1:04:18But again, the Patriots, they're going to face a tougher
- 1:04:19schedule. Don't know how ultimately that's
- 1:04:22going to end up being for them. It'll be an interesting game.
- 1:04:25I'm going to take. I'm going to take Seattle,
- 1:04:27though. San Francisco faces the LA Rams
- 1:04:30that we did find out Arad Donald is not traveling with them to
- 1:04:34Australia, which is where this game is going to 1st take place.
- 1:04:38I'm still going to go with the Rams.
- 1:04:40The 49ers, they just have so many injuries on their team.
- 1:04:44They've such a bad injury history.
- 1:04:46I can't, I can't trust them enough to beat LA.
- 1:04:50So I'm going to go with the Rams.
- 1:04:52This one. Baltimore travels 2 here and
- 1:04:55they need to take on the Colts again.
- 1:04:59This is another one. I don't know what to expect of
- 1:05:01it because the Colts do just well enough, especially in the
- 1:05:04beginning of the season, that they could probably pull off the
- 1:05:07win. I need a paperback emoji.
- 1:05:11They do just well enough. They could probably pull off the
- 1:05:13win. But I mean, the Ravens with
- 1:05:17Lamar, it is a new head coach. It is a whole new, whole entire
- 1:05:22new system. No Greg Roman, no Jim Harbaugh
- 1:05:24anymore. I'm going to go with the Ravens
- 1:05:27just because of Lamar and Derrick Henry, just because
- 1:05:31again, I feel like the Colts, they they start decent and then
- 1:05:35they just poop to bed. But if they can, if they can
- 1:05:37shut down Jonathan Taylor and they can force Daniel Jones to
- 1:05:40be uncomfortable, which they more than likely will.
- 1:05:43I I think the Ravens are probably going to win it.
- 1:05:45One that I feel like is a little bit of a toss up, the Bills
- 1:05:48versus the Texans, because the Texans are probably going to
- 1:05:50have one of, if not the best defense in the league this
- 1:05:53coming season. Probably going to go with
- 1:05:56Buffalo just because I trust Josh Allen a little bit more
- 1:06:00than CJ. But that's not to say I don't
- 1:06:03think CJ's attitude hasn't changed.
- 1:06:05It does seem like he's going to come in with a more more focused
- 1:06:09attitude, kind of more one of those like, I'm not going to let
- 1:06:12the pressure finally get to me. Like I'm here and everything.
- 1:06:15Like, obviously the Texans are a little bit more hesitant about
- 1:06:18his contract, whether or not they're going to pick up that
- 1:06:20fifth year in pain or not, whether they're going to extend
- 1:06:22him. Supposedly there have been talks
- 1:06:25about it, but nothing's been finalized yet.
- 1:06:28But I think I'm going to probably pick the Bills in this.
- 1:06:32The Bears travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers.
- 1:06:38I would be remorse if I didn't pick the Bears and I think MM
- 1:06:43wouldn't judge me, but Mike might give me a little bit of
- 1:06:45crap if I didn't pick the Bears. But I'll be honest, I, I don't,
- 1:06:50I don't trust the Panthers. I've never been a huge Bryce
- 1:06:52Young fan. I was never a big fan of him at
- 1:06:55Alabama. I know he's been benched a
- 1:06:57couple times in the NFL and I mean, it's he, he's rebounded
- 1:07:01from it and he's rebounded well, but I, I, I don't think he can
- 1:07:06do enough to to be able to beat the Bears.
- 1:07:08Now the Bears biggest question mark is their defense.
- 1:07:10They let a lot of guys go that they were paying a whole bunch
- 1:07:15of money for, but they didn't the the Bears for the weak spot.
- 1:07:18The Bears, the defense was the weak spot last year too.
- 1:07:20So I'm I'm going to go with I'm going to go with the with the
- 1:07:26Bears in this one. Then we have the bucks going to
- 1:07:29Cincinnati to take on the Bengals.
- 1:07:30I'm going to go with Joe Burr the the LSU Tiger.
- 1:07:34He's going to be back. He's going to be healthy.
- 1:07:36Now, I'm probably going to regret this because they almost
- 1:07:39always start out slow. They always turn out like almost
- 1:07:42always start like O and three, O and four.
- 1:07:45And then we're having to claw their way back.
- 1:07:46Now. Baker finally just got paid by
- 1:07:49the Buccaneers today. I think it was a three-year,
- 1:07:51$165 million contract. So he did at least finally get
- 1:07:55paid by Tampa Bay. But Bengals on paper, Joe
- 1:07:59Burrows back, Jamar Chase T Higgins the defense.
- 1:08:02They they traded for Dexter Lawrence.
- 1:08:08They traded for traded they they did lose Trey Henderson, but
- 1:08:12they got Dexter Lawrence. They have Shamar Stewart.
- 1:08:14They have on paper a better defense.
- 1:08:17Whether or not that translates Sue on the field play, I don't
- 1:08:21know, but I'm going to go with the Bengals and joker just to
- 1:08:26just to be safe and just because I have a little bit of a a
- 1:08:30liking towards Cincinnati because of Joe Bird.
- 1:08:33Then the Falcons go to Pittsburgh.
- 1:08:35It was just announced that two attempted by low is going to be
- 1:08:37this week 1 starter. Yeah, go ahead and give me
- 1:08:40Pittsburgh because I expect to it to probably be saying
- 1:08:44something about tapioca pudding before the before the game is
- 1:08:47over. Honestly, like if Pittsburgh is
- 1:08:51going to be interesting to see what they look like post Mike
- 1:08:53Tomlin with Mike McCarthy, whether or not they're going to
- 1:08:55have their first losing season since I think 2003 or 2000.
- 1:09:00Yeah, I think 2003. So it'll be interesting to see
- 1:09:03how that ultimately ends up happening.
- 1:09:05But yeah, I I don't see it later being able to win this.
- 1:09:09The Cleveland goes to Jacksonville.
- 1:09:11I'm going to take Jacksonville. I don't think there's much
- 1:09:13explanation needed in that. Joy.
- 1:09:15You were probably going to hate me.
- 1:09:17The Saints have to travel to Detroit to take on the Lions.
- 1:09:22I'm going to have to pick the Lions in this.
- 1:09:24Not that I don't think the Saints, you know, can't maybe
- 1:09:26make kind of a magical run. I just, I, I don't know what to
- 1:09:31expect this year at a Tyler Shuck.
- 1:09:34The offense has a lot of questions.
- 1:09:35The offensive line has a lot of questions with Ryan Ramchek
- 1:09:38being gone. Obviously they're they're poor
- 1:09:41Saints in their salary cap, man. It's almost always salary cap
- 1:09:44hell and I don't understand why, but they did get ETN and free
- 1:09:48agency. They still have all the Kamara.
- 1:09:50So running back wise, they should be fairly hopefully
- 1:09:53decent at running the ball and maybe have a little bit of a
- 1:09:57little bit better option as far as pass catchers go.
- 1:10:00Broad tread carefully. I know joy.
- 1:10:03I know I I'm not, I don't hate the Saints.
- 1:10:05I'm not not expected to be a blowout.
- 1:10:08But like talent wise, I think the lions might edge him out a
- 1:10:13little bit, you know, between. But again, I mean, if the Saints
- 1:10:17can disrupt Jared Goff though, because he he loves the very
- 1:10:20smooth scripted routine, they might be able to do it.
- 1:10:24But it's on the road too, which might be a little bit rough for
- 1:10:28just just just throwing it out there, not hating, just throwing
- 1:10:31it out there. And then probably the game that
- 1:10:34I would probably consider like the garbage game.
- 1:10:38But I still think it'll be hopefully decent.
- 1:10:41The Jets face on the Titans, Cam Ward's second year.
- 1:10:44Geno Smith returns to The Jets. I'm going to go with the Titans
- 1:10:49just as I think Cam Ward hopefully, hopefully takes that
- 1:10:53step forward. He's got Carnell Tate.
- 1:10:55He still has Calvin Ridley. You know, he he's got a decent
- 1:10:59little running back room and you know, the new head coach and
- 1:11:02Robert Sala. He's got Brian de Ball is an
- 1:11:06offensive coordinator. So hopefully Cam Moore takes
- 1:11:09that step forward. I'm I'm hoping he does and if
- 1:11:12they do, I'm I'm going to bet more towards Tennessee than I am
- 1:11:15The Jets. But that's going to be a, it's
- 1:11:17kind of one of the games that's so bad that it's a toss up of
- 1:11:20who I think would be worse. Then you have the Cardinals at
- 1:11:23the Chargers. Go with the Chargers.
- 1:11:24That's kind of a no brainer hands down.
- 1:11:27Green Bay versus the Vikings. And this is one that, you know,
- 1:11:31Mike and I both, we just cringe whenever we have to pick these
- 1:11:33games just 'cause we both dislike the Packers and the
- 1:11:36Vikings with the Packers more. I, as much as I hate to admit
- 1:11:40I'm going to have to go with Green Bay.
- 1:11:42I just, I don't trust. I mean, I, I figured Kyler would
- 1:11:46win the job. All honesty, I didn't, I didn't
- 1:11:48expect that to to not happen for a single second.
- 1:11:53But I, you know, what does this chemistry look like with Justin
- 1:11:56Jefferson? And I know again, it was, it's
- 1:11:58pre season. It's not like anything crazy.
- 1:12:02You know, it's, it's not like I expected him or them to be
- 1:12:06putting out actual plays and going all out and what not.
- 1:12:09But it yeah, I, I just, I don't know what to expect out of
- 1:12:13Minnesota Green Bay. They obviously they lost Romeo
- 1:12:16Dobbs. They don't have brain to Jacob
- 1:12:19or not brain to Jacob, Josh Jacobs at running back.
- 1:12:22So it's going to be a little bit of a question mark.
- 1:12:24So I'm going with as much as I don't like him calling with Jlo
- 1:12:30and the Packers, but that that will be a fairly decent game to
- 1:12:34see kind of early on who who might fare better in the NFC
- 1:12:38North. And then another kind of a bad
- 1:12:40game, the Raiders versus the Dolphins.
- 1:12:42I'm going with the Raiders just because the Dolphins and the
- 1:12:46Dolphins might be the only team to ever go undefeated and they
- 1:12:50might be the only, they might be one of a handful of teams to go
- 1:12:52completely defeated, just absolutely lose it.
- 1:12:56I did hear somebody bring a good point that I think the Dolphins
- 1:12:59should truly consider, like how much of two is dead cap?
- 1:13:02Can you just eat this year? And just so that way you you're
- 1:13:06really bad. You can stockpile a ton of picks
- 1:13:09and then you have a ton of money and then you can kind of read
- 1:13:13like bounce back from a rebuild even quicker because you pay
- 1:13:17free agents, you can draft guys, all of that.
- 1:13:20Now, I know obviously you're still financial limitations.
- 1:13:22There's probably still stuff they're going to stretch down
- 1:13:24the road, but man, try to just eat as much as that dead cap and
- 1:13:27whatnot. This, you know this year,
- 1:13:29because it's not like you're competing for anything.
- 1:13:31You're you're not even competing for a division title.
- 1:13:34You're competing for like two wins.
- 1:13:37If you can get a joy, Boo Green Bay, absolutely Boo Green Bay.
- 1:13:41Always Boo Green Bay, you get the Commanders versus the
- 1:13:45Eagles. I'm going with the Eagles in
- 1:13:46this one. Again, what does Jay and Daniels
- 1:13:48look like now post injury? Another year under Dan Quinn.
- 1:13:53They did get Stefan Diggs at wide receiver.
- 1:13:56So I mean, Debo's gone. So they do have a little bit
- 1:13:58more of a dynamic receiving corps now between him and Scary
- 1:14:02Terry. But again, I I still have a lot
- 1:14:03of questions for the Washington team on the relevance of the
- 1:14:06line. But we'll see.
- 1:14:08Then of course, Sunday night we have Cowboys at the Giants.
- 1:14:11Again. This is one since I was a
- 1:14:15Cowboys fan for so long. I just don't know what to
- 1:14:17expect. You know, Dallas, they have CD
- 1:14:20Land, they have DAC, they have George Pickens, they have
- 1:14:23Javonte Williams who did really well.
- 1:14:24I think Tyler Smith, one of their their starting left tackle
- 1:14:28is uninjured in reserves and he's going to be out.
- 1:14:31The defense should be better with Caleb Downs, but again, how
- 1:14:35does it look like in an actual game?
- 1:14:37And then, of course, on the Giant side, you got Cam
- 1:14:39Scataboo, who's supposed to be back.
- 1:14:40Jackson Dart where? Poor dude.
- 1:14:43If he gets hit, they're putting him in the blue tent almost
- 1:14:45immediately. It's Harbaugh's first game as a
- 1:14:47Giant, as the Giants head coach. And you know, they should have a
- 1:14:51significantly better defense. I'm going with Dallas just
- 1:14:55because of the history, just because I do think talent wise,
- 1:14:59they kind of edge the Giants out.
- 1:15:01But again, I also wouldn't be surprised.
- 1:15:02It's Sunday night, it's in New York.
- 1:15:05Does Dallas poop the bed? Wouldn't be surprised, but
- 1:15:07wouldn't be surprised. New York does do fully
- 1:15:09transparency. And of course, last last game
- 1:15:12Monday night, the Broncos at the Chiefs again, another one that I
- 1:15:16just I don't know what to expect from this.
- 1:15:18And it's not that. And it's not like either team is
- 1:15:24bad. Like I I expect both teams to be
- 1:15:26pretty decent. But Bonex is, you know, kind of
- 1:15:30coming off an injury. Is he going to be fully healthy?
- 1:15:31How's he going to look against what should be a better Kansas
- 1:15:34City defense? Same on the other side for
- 1:15:37Patrick Mahomes. You know, he didn't he didn't
- 1:15:39play at all during the pre season.
- 1:15:41They kept him pretty bubbled up. You know, first time he has to
- 1:15:45scramble when he gets hit. You know, how's that going to
- 1:15:47look? And and for as many people that
- 1:15:50don't like him, Nick Wright, Nick Wright from First things
- 1:15:52first to bring up a good point. He's like it.
- 1:15:55If the worry is that he's going to get hit and you know, that's
- 1:15:59the worry in a context sport like football that he shouldn't
- 1:16:01play at all. And and he does have a good
- 1:16:04point like it it's football, he's going to get hit.
- 1:16:06That's going to happen. Even if you have the best O
- 1:16:09line, your quarterback is probably going to take some hits
- 1:16:12at some point or another. They're going to get sacked.
- 1:16:13They're going to have a tackle for loss.
- 1:16:15They might scramble out of pocket and get hit like it like
- 1:16:18any of that is possible. Absolutely.
- 1:16:20So it it'll be a fun season. I'm excited.
- 1:16:23I'm excited that it starts tomorrow.
- 1:16:25I'm just excited that college football and the football as a
- 1:16:27whole is back and at least here in the Midwest, it's it's still
- 1:16:31going to be a little bit before it happens, I think another two
- 1:16:34weeks. But nonetheless, they were going
- 1:16:36to get close to 40s and 50s in the morning only when we're up
- 1:16:40to like the 50s and 60s in the afternoon.
- 1:16:43And then we're just going to stay in the 40s and 50s all day,
- 1:16:46jeans and hoodie weather. It's going to be absolutely
- 1:16:48amazing. But I appreciate everybody

- 1:18:40Like I said, I just ordered a new fall sense that I'm pretty
- 1:18:43excited for called the Harvest. It's supposed to be, I think
- 1:18:45apple cider, like fall spices and I think vanilla.
