- 0:00Let's.
- 0:26What up, what up, what up?
- 0:30Same old same. Thanks for tuning in to, what is this, episode five?
- 0:34I think so, yeah. Episode five for the fam podcast. We getting it,
- 0:38y'all. We told y'all we getting it. We in it. Yes, sir.
- 0:42So how you been, man? You all right? Yeah, man. It's been a rough,
- 0:46rough few weeks for the family, but, you know, everybody's doing okay.
- 0:51Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's good to hear, man. I was thinking about that earlier
- 0:55today. Yep, yep. Yeah. So what you want to get into today, bro?
- 1:00Today we want to talk about turning 50, since the two of us will be 50 within
- 1:06you within two weeks and me within, what, six weeks, six or seven weeks.
- 1:14It's, it's, woo. And in, what, the 1990s? Mm-hmm.
- 1:20Would they tell us, like, the life expectancy was 25 or something like that for a young black male?
- 1:26No, it wasn't even that. I mean, back in those days, it was like 21, 22.
- 1:31We used to hear that all the time. But of course, now that we're older,
- 1:34you look back at it and you think, oh, man, that's a lot of... Sure, sure.
- 1:37Sure it was. Gander. Sure it was. Sure it was. Being peddled to us.
- 1:41But at the same time, we know a lot of brothers who didn't make it. Mm-hmm.
- 1:47You know, so I feel blessed. Mm-hmm. I feel blessed. I feel like,
- 1:51you know, I'm not a revisionist type person.
- 1:55So I'm not looking back and saying, I wish I could do this, that,
- 2:00this, that, this, that over.
- 2:02The one thing I do feel like is I wish I would, if I could go back and give
- 2:10myself one piece of advice, it would be financial advice.
- 2:16I mean, like, I just feel like I've wasted so much money over the years.
- 2:20So that's like the one thing that I would go back and do differently if I could
- 2:26is like just tell myself, you know, hey, you probably don't need to buy this
- 2:31at this time. Take that money and invest it.
- 2:33But you live and you learn. You know what I'm saying? Other than that,
- 2:36I mean, I'm I'm I'm cool, man.
- 2:39I mean, as far as my experiences go and all of that, it is what it is.
- 2:43I've had some good times. I have some rough times.
- 2:46Think about 96, 97. If we had like thousand dollars to blow.
- 2:50Probably did, but who's this new company coming along? What's Google?
- 2:56We be sitting in the studio right now with our feet up.
- 3:00Man, but Snuggie, the Snuggie, bro.
- 3:04I know it's silly. The Snuggie is the one that gets me. They got in,
- 3:09got that money and got out. Yep.
- 3:12Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Yep. That's the one for me, man.
- 3:18So I don't know, bro. How you how you how you feel about trying to fit? I don't know.
- 3:21I guess if you'd asked me 25 years ago about turning 50, that was back when
- 3:25we looked at everybody that was 30, 35 plus, we used to look at them like they were old.
- 3:29Remember at 18, somebody who was 30 was old to us? Hey, that's real talk right there. Man.
- 3:36But then the older you get, you know, when people say you're only as old as you feel. Correct.
- 3:41It happens. Now, I'll say the last two weeks for me being on my feet,
- 3:45I know you probably like, man, I'm on my feet every day.
- 3:48But me being on my feet and having the foot issues I was having for a while,
- 3:54I'm like, boy, I feel like I'm 60.
- 3:57Not 49, I feel like I'm 60. But, you know, I mean, man, I don't feel no certain
- 4:03way about it. Just happy to be here.
- 4:06Still young enough to play with grandkids.
- 4:10Still young enough to, you know, put one of the kids in a wrestling hole.
- 4:14Tried to do that last night, though. It didn't work out too well. I was in a fast state.
- 4:21The old man strength kick in, but the flexibility don't be there. No.
- 4:25That's why I was like, nope, that's it. That's it. I'm done.
- 4:28Once your arm gets bent the wrong way, you're like, nope, nope, let me go. Let me go.
- 4:31No, I feel you. And as far as physicality goes...
- 4:37Yeah, I mean, yeah, I walk every day. I think that I'm pretty healthy as far as that goes.
- 4:43You know, I exercise routinely, but but still joints are joints.
- 4:49You know what I'm saying? So my knees still ache. My back still aches occasionally for no reason.
- 4:56You know, I was talking to my homies at work and he was like,
- 4:59man, my knee just hurt. I said, how old are you, bro?
- 5:02He said, I'm 45. I said, yeah, you at that age.
- 5:07Is just one of those things it goes along with
- 5:10getting older is you're just gonna have those aches and pains and
- 5:13it's funny you know our parents would get up off the couch or
- 5:16get up out of a chair and now i'd
- 5:20be like i get it you you i know you've probably heard the story a million times
- 5:24my father told me he said you know one day you're gonna wake up say your knee
- 5:28gonna be hurt you're gonna stand up you're gonna you know move it around a little
- 5:32bit think to yourself where the hell is my knee hurting he said as the day goes
- 5:36on you're gonna forget about you yep,
- 5:39and then you're gonna go hell is my shoulder
- 5:42hurt yep and by the time you go to sleep your lower back is hurting yep and
- 5:46if you look back at your day and think about it you can't understand why any
- 5:50of them right were hurting at all right he was that's that's what he told me
- 5:53he told me that when i was like 20 is i went till you get to be about 40 45
- 5:57he's like it'll it'll it'll hit you Bro,
- 6:00when I get up in the morning, it takes me so long to get the first couple of steps, bro.
- 6:06I mean, I got my Fred Sanford walk going the first couple of steps until my
- 6:10legs, feet, knees actually warm up.
- 6:13Yeah, it's like, oh, my God, I'm so stiff.
- 6:16Yeah, I definitely feel the difference.
- 6:20But, excuse me, the physical ailments, our traits.
- 6:28For the mental intelligence that I've gained over the years.
- 6:33So it's a swap for me. You know what I'm saying?
- 6:37Take the good with the bad. You know what I'm saying? And like you were saying, just happy to be here.
- 6:41I feel blessed to be here because a lot of homies didn't make it.
- 6:46So it's all good, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:49I'm just, you know, just figured it was something that we haven't really rapped about,
- 6:54but just figured it was something that we need to
- 6:57start rapping about you know what i'm saying as black men
- 7:00turning 50 we need to start
- 7:04taking our health more seriously you've been
- 7:07on me about getting routine physicals and checkups and stuff and i'm trying
- 7:11to get better at that um you know so it's just it's just one of those those
- 7:16things that at 50 we have to start taking into consideration yes we understand
- 7:21about the tuskegee experiment in.
- 7:24And yes, we understand that doctors, some doctors used to treat us like we had
- 7:30a higher pain threshold.
- 7:32We get it. But at some point, find a good black doctor if you can't trust anybody else.
- 7:38But we have to start going to the doctor.
- 7:42We have to start taking our health more seriously.
- 7:46Well, it's kind of like, you know, for me, unfortunately, I hit a hit a wall
- 7:51in my early twenties with my health, with gastro issues and, you know,
- 7:55finding out that so many members of my family had the same issues I did,
- 8:00just didn't get it checked out and having a son dealing with colitis.
- 8:04So, you know, it's, it's just one of those things why I brought up to you about
- 8:09getting routine checkups because I've been through so many of them and had I
- 8:13not ignored them from age 18 to 21, some of the pain that I was having,
- 8:18those three years where I just ignored some of the stomach pains and issues I was having,
- 8:24I might've had a better, now I know I'm more fortunate than some other people
- 8:29who deal with what I deal with, but I may have been able to,
- 8:33Have a couple of years where I wasn't on medication, where I wasn't getting
- 8:37so many endoscopies. Right.
- 8:40That dreaded colonoscopy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which I got to schedule mine.
- 8:46New year. I made it up in my mind. I said, new year, I'm scheduling it.
- 8:50So I've already talked to my wife about it.
- 8:54And as much as I'm dreading it, got to do it.
- 8:58Like I said, we 50 now. It's something that we got to start taking more seriously.
- 9:04So so dedicating a small portion of my time to, you know, just getting routine
- 9:11checkups and going to see the doctor and, you know, listening,
- 9:15not not taking everything they say as gospel, but listening, you know, no.
- 9:21I'm not a guy who likes to take a lot of pills and medication and stuff.
- 9:25So always asking questions like, is there another way? Is there something else
- 9:28I can do? Is there a holistic approach?
- 9:32Because I don't. I get it.
- 9:36FDA approved. Well, it's supposed to be quotes, unquote, supposed to be FDA approved. But.
- 9:44No, I'm just I'm just not a not a medicine guy. I'm not I'm not a pill guy.
- 9:48I'm not a pharmaceutical guy.
- 9:50So anything that I can do holistically, I'll try and do first.
- 9:55If that's not effective, then OK, doc, write me a prescription.
- 10:01And the thing for a lot of us too, I mean, most of our families migrated north
- 10:06back in what, the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
- 10:08I know both sides of my family was the 40s.
- 10:11So yeah, I knew my grandfather, great-grandfather. But a lot of those generations
- 10:16after that, our families just didn't talk about them a lot.
- 10:20Yeah, we went down south. We saw your cousins here and your cousins there.
- 10:24But we don't know what type of health issues my great-great-great-grandfather had. True.
- 10:29So it's one of those things, since we don't know those, those are those things.
- 10:34We need to go get checked out for ourselves, make sure that there's nothing genetic going on.
- 10:40So, you know, it's I think we just get so caught up in doing everything else
- 10:46and just forgetting to take care of ourselves, take care of our children.
- 10:50You know, you're a grandfather now. I've been a grandfather for what?
- 10:53Shoot boy, eight years now.
- 10:55So, you know, it's we need to be there for them too.
- 11:00We're in our 70s. We want to still be able to get out there and walk with them
- 11:04and do the necessary things with our grandchildren.
- 11:07Gotta spoil them and then send them home.
- 11:10I look forward to that.
- 11:16I look forward to those days and going, you know what? Yeah,
- 11:20you've been eating ice cream all day. Okay, time to go home.
- 11:25Matter of fact, here's one for the road Yep, yep Take it home with you So what
- 11:31about a midlife crisis, man? You want to go get you a sports car?
- 11:35So, excuse me You want to talk about something I've never understood You know
- 11:40what, I'm not going to say his name,
- 11:42But you know who I'm talking about. We had a teacher back in the day.
- 11:47I know exactly who you're talking about. I know exactly where you're going with
- 11:50it. It could be one of two of them, actually.
- 11:52But it was one who had no business being in our neighborhood. None.
- 11:57And we were what? Sophomores? Juniors? And we start... Something like that.
- 12:02And we start looking up going, was that Mr. Such-and-such? It sure was.
- 12:06Man, that dude went through a midlife crisis.
- 12:09What he had at a... Was it a convertible?
- 12:11Convertible. no green hunter green
- 12:14drop top corvette show no yeah hunter
- 12:17green drop i think he had a black top on it yeah yeah
- 12:22yeah yeah weird weird bro because he was such a like you know what you know
- 12:29stick in the mud yeah so to speak yeah yeah and then he started coming through
- 12:34the hood right now with the high school girls in the car wilding out a should
- 12:40have been on to catch a predator.
- 12:43And I mean, we laugh about that, but he probably should have been on to catch
- 12:48a predator. Now, let me say this. Disclaimer.
- 12:51We have no rumors, no nothing that this man was out there sleeping with with young girls.
- 12:57We just we just reliving a moment in our in our history.
- 13:00But but now, man, I've never understood the midlife crisis thing. Mm hmm.
- 13:07Well, let me rephrase that. I understand the midlife crisis because I ain't gonna lie to you.
- 13:12I went through like when I gained a little bit of weight. You know,
- 13:15I remember like fighting in my mind like, yo, man, what you doing?
- 13:18You know, you lose a little little confidence in yourself and so on and so forth.
- 13:23But I've never wanted to run out and spend one hundred thousand dollars or to
- 13:28add a six hundred dollar car note to my bills every month. No desire to be young again.
- 13:35You don't want to go dye your beard.
- 13:38Hey. You know what I'm saying? Start wearing a do-rag and, you know. I ain't going to lie.
- 13:45Dog, trying to line up my beard, being as light as I am, and then with the hair
- 13:51turning from like a dark brown to like a gray. It's hard to see.
- 13:55Dog, it's bad enough I got freckles. So half the time I be thinking freckles
- 14:01on my face is a piece of hair.
- 14:03Look, I done halfway cut my face trying to cut a freckle off. Right, right.
- 14:08But no, man, I mean, I got so much going on on a day-to-day basis,
- 14:13working and trying to be a better grandfather.
- 14:19But I don't think about going out and just spending my money.
- 14:24On material things. on material things or trying to find somebody younger to grade around.
- 14:29It's like, nah, I'm cool on all that. No, I feel you. I feel you 100%, bro. And it's just like.
- 14:36When I when I think about one, I've already done it.
- 14:41I've had cars with rims and tires and I've had some beat in my cars.
- 14:48I've already done all of that. I did that in my 20s and I used to install all
- 14:53that stuff for a living. Yeah.
- 14:55So so in my 50s, if I'm still worried about that, then what progress have I made?
- 15:04Right so i i don't i don't think
- 15:06about that you know what i'm saying i'm not out here trying to
- 15:09go get the latest jordans i wore
- 15:12those in high school i'm good no disrespect
- 15:16to mike i'm not paying you twice the
- 15:19amount for what i paid back in the 90s for your it for
- 15:22your shoes bro i'm just i'm just not paid 120
- 15:25and that was through the roof right in the
- 15:2890s right and now them same shoes be selling on ebay and
- 15:31and stock x for like two and three grand man come on
- 15:34yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i'm good i'm good give me some k-swiss i'm good give
- 15:39me some nike airbags i'm good i don't i don't i don't i don't need it because
- 15:44i'm not trying to be young i'm not trying to keep up with the young boys you
- 15:48know what i'm saying i accept where i'm at yeah you know what i'm saying And if anything,
- 15:54I'm trying to show y'all the growth.
- 15:57You can still be cool at our age. You know what I'm saying? Without trying to
- 16:02be young, I can still be cool.
- 16:05I may not be able to talk to you about the latest rap beef between who and who and who.
- 16:11But I can still listen to a song and tell you if the lyrics are whack or not.
- 16:15Right. My ears still work. Yeah. Yeah.
- 16:19I can still do that. And at the same time, I can turn you on to some good old
- 16:24school R&B. Absolutely.
- 16:25I can turn you on to some jazz if you want a different perspective.
- 16:29You know what I'm saying? It's all relative. You know what I'm saying?
- 16:32Yeah, you ain't supposed to be on my level.
- 16:35You still growing. You still got to progress. And at the same time,
- 16:39I'm not supposed to be on your level because that means I'm stagnant.
- 16:44So one of the twins always brings up how some of the some of the friends he
- 16:49used to hang out with you know and i'm talking just two three four years ago
- 16:53would be dressing like like him,
- 16:56or he said like they would go out you know to like to a to a bar not necessarily
- 17:02to drink but to but to hang out he said you know somebody will walk in and and
- 17:08he recognized him and like,
- 17:10Who is that? And then one of the people he with, oh, that's my pops.
- 17:13And he said, man, he's like, dad, them dudes be dressed like they 17,
- 17:1818 years old, coming there with skinny jeans on, with holes in them,
- 17:21wearing Jordans with them.
- 17:23I forget the name, brand of the shirt, but wearing just, and look,
- 17:27I don't dress like I'm 90.
- 17:29Right. But I'm not about to be out here dressed like my youngest kids. Right.
- 17:34One. My kids would laugh. First off, they would laugh at me.
- 17:38That part. That part. But comfort is my number one thing.
- 17:42Yeah. I mean, yeah, I want to look good. I want to be stylish.
- 17:45But I got to be comfortable. Absolutely. If I'm not comfortable.
- 17:49It got to go. I don't care how good it look.
- 17:53Comfort is first. You know what I'm saying? But like you said,
- 17:56it ain't like we dress like we 90.
- 17:57It's just I'm not trying to dress like you. And I'm not supposed to.
- 18:02Listen, man. I remember we were talking at the house one day.
- 18:05And they were talking about hitting the lottery.
- 18:09And one of them was like, what would you do with your wardrobe?
- 18:12I said, man, I would buy a whole closet full of the old school Levi's 501s and
- 18:18a whole closet of black and white T-shirts.
- 18:21That's it. That's the uniform. Some dope man Nikes, some Air Force Ones,
- 18:26and some old school K-Swiss.
- 18:27And a bunch of suits. That's all I would wear. What'd you just say?
- 18:32Old school K-Swiss? The dope man Nike. Oh, yeah.
- 18:36Cats don't even know what they're like. No, they do. They're cheap and tacky to them now.
- 18:42The dope man Nike? Yes. Man, stop.
- 18:46Man, knock it off. But Nike's selling them bad boys for over $100 now.
- 18:51Remember they were like $45, $50 back in the day?
- 18:53Yeah, the dope man Nike's about $120. Man, knock it off. Yeah.
- 19:00Oh, my goodness. Yeah. Nike, stop it.
- 19:05Just stop. Seriously, just stop. I
- 19:09could see raising prices and I tell the
- 19:11kids all the time I don't yeah I
- 19:14flip out about stuff because you know I like to be frugal with
- 19:17money nowadays but I be trying to tell them like like for example I'm looking
- 19:22at some some cookies right now these cookies 20 years ago same package and same
- 19:27everything $2.99 nowadays these cookies like what $5.99 it's it's funny you say that,
- 19:35Because I was just bored last week and I just haven't.
- 19:39Actually, I was at the store and I seen something and it made me think of it.
- 19:43And I'm like, I'm going to research this when I get home.
- 19:46Since the 80s, inflation has gone up 280 percent, bro.
- 19:54280 percent. That's a real figure since the 80s. Just think about that. Let that sink in.
- 20:02Think about how the value of the dollar has decreased since the 80s.
- 20:08Something that used to be, what, a 25 cent bag of chips.
- 20:13That same bag of chips is now with like $1.25.
- 20:17So you and I briefly work for the same company, not at the same time,
- 20:21but for the same company. I still remember the meeting we had.
- 20:24When they brought all the drivers in and they were talking about packaging changes,
- 20:28because, you know, when we used to come in, we used to come in in the morning
- 20:33in the clock in area, there'd be like chips. Hey, test these out.
- 20:39I'll never forget sitting in that room and they said, all right,
- 20:41so next week we're making a change to the size of the bags and the bags got smaller.
- 20:46And then they told us it was a 20. Well, no, no. Like 25. It was a 25.
- 20:5125 cent increase. So compared to the bags when we were kids,
- 20:55compared to it now, I think there's like 1.6 less, like ounces.
- 21:00It's 1.6 less. The bags are smaller and the price has gone up over 75%.
- 21:06The other bag, the snack bags, now those are over $3 now.
- 21:11They were $1.79 five years ago. And you know what's crazy about that?
- 21:1760%, 65% of it is air. Air. Yeah.
- 21:21Yeah, that's the crazy part. 65% of that bag of chips is filled with air.
- 21:27But that's another topic for another day.
- 21:30Maybe that's something we'll get into on a future podcast.
- 21:33Is there anything else you want to touch on about turning 50?
- 21:37No, I just want to reiterate, taking your health serious, being here for your
- 21:40kids, being here for your grandkids.
- 21:43You know, at the moment, we're fortunate.
- 21:47You know, I have my mother and my father. Your mother's in her 80s now.
- 21:51Healthy. Everybody's healthy.
- 21:55Relatively in 80s. Relatively healthy. Doing well for, you know,
- 21:59still living their day-to-day lives, getting up and being able to still do something.
- 22:03So you want to take care of yourself now the way that our parents took care
- 22:07of themselves in their 40s and 50s so we can still be there and see our grandkids grow up.
- 22:12But that's that's pretty much. No, that's that's facts, man.
- 22:15And to be able to see a great grandkid, I think that's just cool as hell,
- 22:22you know, to live, to see that many generations.
- 22:26My grandfather lived to see how many great grandkids? Nine, maybe?
- 22:32Seven for sure. Seven for sure. It's a beautiful thing. Yeah.
- 22:36It's a beautiful thing, bro. So, yeah, that's goals. You want to talk about future goals?
- 22:42Those are future goals, to be able to live to see some great grandkids.
- 22:46You know what I'm saying? And that's when you were supposed to die,
- 22:50like on Harlem Nights, when he told Eddie Murphy, dying young ain't cool. Mm-mm.
- 22:55What's cool is dying old with some grandkids around you in a hospital bed or whatever.
- 23:01Like, that's what's cool is dying old, not dying young. Can I change the subject real quick? Yeah.
- 23:07So we're going on a little bit longer than we thought, but somebody said something
- 23:11the other day, and I said, I got to make sure I bring this up.
- 23:15Who was the villain of Harlem Nights?
- 23:20Oh, man. I'm going to say there were a couple But the cop, whatever the cop
- 23:26was, Danny Aiello character, to me, he was the biggest villain.
- 23:30You think so? Yeah, I do. You know the villain? Remember I told you about Karate Kid?
- 23:35Yeah. How we laughed about that? Yeah. Daniel's son was truly the bully?
- 23:39Yeah. Go back and watch Harlem Nights. Eddie Murphy was the...
- 23:46He did start all the shit. He was the villain. Had he just listened.
- 23:50You're right. Had he just listened.
- 23:52They'd have still been kicking it. Had he had he not gone. Now,
- 23:55keep in mind at the same token during that time, a bunch of black men prospering. Yeah.
- 24:00Somebody would have come along eventually to such as Phil Cantone would have
- 24:04come along to try to take it away.
- 24:05But if you look at the first hour of that movie, do Eddie Murphy did.
- 24:09So, I mean, from the get this kid out of here, his ass, just leave, man.
- 24:15Now, another man did because you shot him. You know what?
- 24:18That's that's a we may we may do that on a week. Five on the black hand side. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:24Let's save it for that. Let's save it for the end of the episode. We can talk about that.
- 24:29You know what I was just thinking about, bro? What's that? Did you introduce yourself?
- 24:34Uh-huh. I thought about it about 20 seconds in. I was like, well,
- 24:38shit, we already into it. Let's keep it moving.
- 24:45Next up, yo, we're going to talk about some current events. You got anything
- 24:49you want to discuss, brother?
- 24:51I did. As I was telling you, I was driving and something hit me.
- 24:55And not literally, but something came into my head and I thought,
- 24:59I got to talk about that, but I forgot.
- 25:01So I'm going to defer to you right now. All right. All right. Cool. Cool. Cool.
- 25:04And just feel feel free to jump in, you know, interrupt me, whatever,
- 25:08whatever. You know, I can get the rambling.
- 25:10But I want to I want to talk about why information matters.
- 25:16And I mean, all information, but this is going to relate to the jobs numbers.
- 25:22You know, there's been a lot of stories in the news about him firing the jobs
- 25:27report lady, the BLS lady, Bureau of Labor Statistics, for those who don't know.
- 25:34He fired that lady because she said the numbers were not as favorable as he would like them to be.
- 25:43And here is why that is such a dangerous thing.
- 25:50Information matters. If there is an instance, instance, instance, whatever,
- 25:58where there is a where there is a catastrophic event, be it weather,
- 26:03be it that we're under attack from a foreign nation, whatever the case may be,
- 26:08Lord forbid any of those things happen.
- 26:10But we need to be able to trust the government's information.
- 26:16This is why you cannot fire people because you don't like their information.
- 26:25You're creating such a system of distrust that in case of a real emergency,
- 26:32you leave the people scrambling because we don't know what to do.
- 26:38We don't know if your information is real or not.
- 26:42So with that being said.
- 26:46And sometimes you just have to use common sense. I mean, because clearly at
- 26:51this point, we can't trust his data.
- 26:54So I'm just going to rattle off a few things here and I'll let you decide if
- 26:59the job numbers are up or down.
- 27:03So for this year, 2025, these are all the companies that laid people off just this year.
- 27:14This is in alphabetical order. Amazon, Apple, Autodesk, Blue Origin, Bumble,
- 27:24Chegg, not familiar with that one, Cisco, CrowdStrike, EA Sports for the video
- 27:32games, Expedia, Google Alphabet,
- 27:36Grubhub, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Hewlett Packard Inc., Intel,
- 27:43if you're paying attention to government just tried to take 10% of Intel,
- 27:47Match Group, Meta, Microsoft,
- 27:52NetApp, Oracle, ScaleAI, Turo, not familiar with that one, Workday.
- 28:00S. Day Louder, J.C.
- 28:03Penney, Kohl's, Walmart, Wayfair, oh I'm not done, Boeing, Chevron, CVS, JPMorgan Chase,
- 28:15Southwest Airlines, Tyson Foods, United States Postal Service.
- 28:21And if I'm not mistaken, if I'm not mistaken, Kroger announced that they were
- 28:27going to lay off like a thousand corporate jobs like last week or two weeks ago. Right.
- 28:32So keep all of those companies in mind.
- 28:36Add to that the 200,000, whether that's a real number or not,
- 28:42the 200,000 government employees that have lost their jobs because of Doge.
- 28:49So when you consider all of that information, how in the hell do you think the job numbers are up?
- 28:57It doesn't make sense, bro. And and this doesn't include small businesses that
- 29:05go out of business So you're talking about another four or five people who probably
- 29:10lost their jobs if that small business goes under So yeah, bro,
- 29:16the data is the data jobs are not up Sorry, they're not now here's a caveat.
- 29:23There is a sector, there is an industry where jobs have increased,
- 29:30and that would be the health industry, health and social services.
- 29:36And there is a reason for that. But I'm talking about doctors,
- 29:40nurses, therapists, social workers, psychologists, et cetera.
- 29:46Those numbers have increased.
- 29:49But here is why those numbers have increased.
- 29:52Because that industry took a major hit during COVID.
- 29:56A lot of health care professionals decided to walk away because of COVID. The strain was too much.
- 30:04Whether you believe COVID was real or not, I'm not having that debate.
- 30:08The effects of COVID are real.
- 30:11So yeah, there was a huge gap,
- 30:15a huge void created from COVID in the healthcare industry So if you were to do research,
- 30:22you'd say, oh, maybe those numbers offset Really, they don't,
- 30:26but that's a whole other story I'm not trying to get into that I'm just trying
- 30:30to say based on the information that I have provided And this isn't even like
- 30:35an intensive search This was really quick,
- 30:38No way job numbers can be up So, what's the, because I don't have the exact amount.
- 30:45So, what was the number that she released? Did you see that? I don't remember.
- 30:52I know that they downgraded it, and that's what pissed them off. Right, right.
- 30:56She basically said the number, I think it was in like the $250,000 range or
- 31:02something like that, and they downgraded it some.
- 31:05And that's what he was like, oh, no, these numbers, the data is faulty,
- 31:09blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, the thing is, too, is that we haven't been,
- 31:12what, the last few months, it's been under the expectation.
- 31:16I mean, I guess going piggybacking off of what you just said,
- 31:20I guess for me, I don't understand how you can take.
- 31:25And you know what, I'll use an example from my previous position.
- 31:30You can't, because COVID hit that industry hard. Now, we grew.
- 31:35The plant in Indy grew 26% during COVID. But it hit.
- 31:42The corporate office really, really hard because it's a family owned business.
- 31:45So they took all of their manufacturing out of that main building and started
- 31:51using the manufacturer in Michigan, which is an established company that they
- 31:55work with for a long time.
- 31:57They started having issues with turnover, with hiring, so on and so forth.
- 32:03Their profits went down.
- 32:05You just shut down your production.
- 32:09Of course, your profits went down. You outsourced.
- 32:12You chose to close down a mill that had been in your family for a hundred years.
- 32:19And now you're mad at us because you're not making the money.
- 32:23It's kind of like the same thing. It's like, do you not understand what happened
- 32:27when you shut down that entire production?
- 32:29First off, you moved a couple of people to different positions,
- 32:32but you got rid of like 30 people. You've lost the production.
- 32:37Yeah. So instead of doing it in-house, now you're spending an extra $20,000,
- 32:41$30,000 a month, whatever the dollar amount is, per month. Of course you're losing it.
- 32:46And similar to what you just said, I watched a couple of people above me get
- 32:51fired because the numbers were down. It's like, what the hell did you expect?
- 32:56COVID was an anomaly for that industry. We grew 26 percent.
- 33:02And then the next year we grew 13 percent. But now they're mad.
- 33:06So you want to grow another 26? You can't just be happy with the 13? Right. Right.
- 33:12Right. It's crazy. And, you know, I had there were several things that I was
- 33:17debating, speaking about as far as current events.
- 33:21Of course, we need to mention the Minnesota Minnesota school shooting. Absolute tragedy.
- 33:27I again, Democrats are missing the boat, in my opinion.
- 33:34The mayor of Minneapolis, you know, when he was saying thoughts and prayers aren't enough.
- 33:38Then there were some others who were saying thoughts and prayers aren't enough.
- 33:43Thoughts and prayers aren't enough.
- 33:45They are letting Republicans hijack that to say there is an attack on people of faith.
- 33:53No one, no one is attacking people of faith by saying thoughts and prayers aren't enough.
- 34:04They are attacking the inability to do anything as it relates to gun control.
- 34:12But here they are missing the boat and not pushing back hard.
- 34:17Anytime they hear someone say they're attacking people of faith,
- 34:21they need to be like hair on fire going off.
- 34:24No, we're not going to let you change the narrative.
- 34:28Something needs to happen. I don't know what.
- 34:31I'm a gun owner. you're a gun owner but something needs to happen i have my
- 34:37guns as a last line of self-defense but if they had a buyback program tomorrow and they made it illegal,
- 34:46yeah here i'm not a collector i'm not a gun enthusiast i'm not a hunter i i
- 34:53mean i i got a gun out of necessity if someone breaks into my home i need to
- 34:58defend my home my family my wife.
- 35:01Other than that I don't see no real use in it you know what I'm saying I'm not
- 35:06a gun enthusiast I'm not a guy who gets his heart on look at this gun and look at all these features.
- 35:13Who cares I'm not that dude Lord knows I'm the same way shoot I still got the
- 35:19first gun that I ever bought this piece of trash but.
- 35:23It's the first one I ever bought. So I keep it kind of like,
- 35:25I don't want to say sentimental value.
- 35:27Yeah. But if I lost it tomorrow, I'd be like, damn, what happened?
- 35:30I mean, obviously I reported, but I'd be thinking to myself,
- 35:33I mean, I'm not going to go kicking doors down trying to find it.
- 35:37Sure. Because again, it's not, for me, mine are strictly for protection. Yep.
- 35:43Yep. I'm not going to go to my friend's house. We sit our guns out on the favor
- 35:47and we talk about how cool it is. And then, look, I know that some people probably
- 35:51listen to this or hear it and be like, oh, yeah, just some more libs on the podcast.
- 35:56First and foremost, neither one of us are far left liberals in any way,
- 36:01shape or form. But we definitely will tell you how we feel about what's going on.
- 36:04Some things we agree with on one side. Well, let me rephrase that.
- 36:09Before eight years ago, there were a lot of things we agree with on both sides.
- 36:13Right. Whereas recently it's more one sided.
- 36:16But I didn't change. True. They changed. Exactly. Yeah.
- 36:21But yeah, we are gun owners who are strictly using it to protect ourselves. Well, it is staggering.
- 36:29And I don't think this gets mentioned enough.
- 36:33The leading cause of death for teenagers in the U.S., gun violence.
- 36:41The leading cause of death, gun violence.
- 36:45It's a problem. It's an issue.
- 36:49At this point, I almost want to say it's an epidemic. But your forefathers didn't
- 36:53want you to address it because, you know, you got the right to bear arms without any repercussions.
- 37:01Which at that point was strictly for in case the British came to invade,
- 37:07that you'd be able to go help fight.
- 37:10That's what the whole thing was about. It was not about. I got a collection of AR-15.
- 37:16You know how long it took to load a musket when the Second Amendment was put?
- 37:19Yeah it was almost 60 seconds yeah yeah yeah
- 37:23there's youtube videos of gun enthusiasts like showing
- 37:27you how they used to load it with the pellets then
- 37:29the powder then stuffing it down and almost 60
- 37:33seconds yeah what what were they
- 37:35saying in glory a good man can get off like three shots three
- 37:39duh yeah three shots
- 37:42good man get off three shots but you
- 37:45know what they're going to say 300 not days yeah they're
- 37:49going to say mental mental health we get it yes obviously to do something like
- 37:55this so you have you have you have mental health issues there's no doubt something
- 37:59going on for sure yeah but in all school shootings and no she was trans so they're
- 38:07going to know throw that out there.
- 38:10Common denominator, Parkland, Southport. Is it Southport?
- 38:15The one that, oh boy, got sued over. Alex Jones got sued over.
- 38:20Oh, Sandy Hook. Sandy Hook, I'm sorry.
- 38:22Sandy Hook, Columbine, Parkland.
- 38:26What the one in Michigan where the kid parents are going to jail.
- 38:30All of these school shootings. Which, by the way, you could talk about school
- 38:34shootings for the next 45 minutes.
- 38:36Oh, easily, easily, easily. The common denominator.
- 38:40And all of this is the gun is not mental health, is not trans,
- 38:46is not immigrant, is not this, that the common denominator is gun.
- 38:52If this person had mental health issues and was trans and went to that school
- 38:58with a knife, you're outside.
- 39:01You can't do anything except tap on the window and wave your fists at people.
- 39:06You're outside. Now, I'm not saying that you can't do damage with a knife.
- 39:10I'm not saying that at all.
- 39:12But the common denominator here is the gun. Without the gun,
- 39:17it would not happen the way that it happened.
- 39:20You can alter hundreds of lives in a matter of seconds matter of seconds so,
- 39:30like you said at the beginning i don't know what the i don't know what what
- 39:34type of legislation can be written i don't know that any legislation ever will
- 39:38be right for me since we're in
- 39:41the situation we're in it all boils down to responsible gun owners uh-huh.
- 39:46Beginning to criticize irresponsible gun owners.
- 39:50And a lot of the issues that I think we run into right now is you have people
- 39:54who are so, because look, man, most of these people at these gun conventions
- 39:58and places like that, those are law-abiding citizens.
- 40:01But you know, there's also the loophole. Yeah, yeah.
- 40:04But those people are there like as enthusiasts.
- 40:08They don't want to see that gun in the wrong person's hands.
- 40:12The problem is, is that person never speaks up because they hide behind,
- 40:17well, I'm a conservative.
- 40:19We're for the Second Amendment and that's that. No, no, no. You feel the same
- 40:22way I feel about it. Don't forget. It's about that. Yeah, it's about that bread.
- 40:26Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you cannot leave out the part about that money.
- 40:29But most of those God-fearing Christians who were right-wing Christians. Christians loosely.
- 40:38Loosely. I'm sorry. I got to jump in and say that. Christians loosely. That's why I pause.
- 40:45Who own these weapons do not want to see them in the hands of the wrong person. They don't.
- 40:51Which is why you always hear them talking about good guy with a gun.
- 40:54Because they want to take out the other person who has a gun.
- 40:57But the problem is, again, they never speak up about it.
- 41:01There's so many people walking around, in my opinion, I hate to say it,
- 41:04a lot of people are going to say that's bullshit.
- 41:07They just walk around day to day, can't wait to pull their gun. For sure.
- 41:10They hope something jump off. You see them in Walmart. You see them in Target.
- 41:16You see them like, bro, why do you need a gun to go grocery shopping?
- 41:20What are you looking to do?
- 41:22I saw a dude in the grocery store with some sweatpants on. The gun was so heavy. Yeah.
- 41:26Pulling his pants down. All you saw is draws. The whole white sound like,
- 41:30bro, that gun weighs like eight pounds.
- 41:32What you got to do? An accident waiting to happen, to be honest.
- 41:35But to go back to what you just said about the good guy with a gun,
- 41:39That's also something that irritates me To my core,
- 41:44Because if I'm in the grocery store, I see two fools shooting at each other.
- 41:49How the hell do I know who's the good guy? If I'm a cop, both of y'all done.
- 41:53Bye. I don't know who's the good guy in this scenario.
- 41:57That's one thing that irritates me also. Who makes you the good guy?
- 42:00Who designated you to be the good guy?
- 42:03And you know something that I think a lot of people forget?
- 42:06When you engage in that type of situation, say you're the cop.
- 42:10And I'm not defending cops or anything because I know the job is hard. I get it.
- 42:15But imagine you're that cop, good person coming there and have to put two people down.
- 42:19What type of psychological effect does that have on a good person on a day to day basis?
- 42:24What type of psychological effect does that have on the little girl or little boy who saw it? Yeah.
- 42:29But you just wanted this. This is America.
- 42:33Not just the little boy, the employees. I mean, everyone who wins that.
- 42:37Like, how do you feel walking past that spot at work every day where you just
- 42:42saw two people get gunned down?
- 42:44It all has an accumulative, that's the way you say that, effect on you.
- 42:49You know what I'm saying? If I'm a shopper at that store, you don't want to
- 42:52go back. I'm probably done at that store. Yeah, yeah.
- 42:54Not because I think it's going to happen again, but just because of the trauma.
- 42:57Facts, facts. So that's the current event. Anything else you want to add to
- 43:02that, bro? To the current event?
- 43:05No i can't think of anything you have anything for
- 43:08a random topic i do
- 43:11but before i get into it you want
- 43:15to get some random stuff off your
- 43:18chest because i'm about to have some fun i'm just saying no go ahead i'm gonna
- 43:23i'm gonna go after you all right i'm gonna close it out all right all right
- 43:26that's what's up i am a music fan so let me ask you a question what makes a good song,
- 43:36the lyrics or the beat the music there's no right or wrong answer by the way it's just
- 43:43an opinion for me it depends on the genre of music i'm listening to okay so
- 43:47if i'm listening to rap if you ain't talking about nothing i could care less
- 43:50who made your beat facts if we're Talking about old school soul and R&B.
- 43:55I mean, go back and listen to James Brown. Ain't say nothing on 90% of their
- 43:58songs. But that music was off the hook.
- 44:00But the music had your feet tapped. Yep. Yep. But in hip hop?
- 44:05Honestly, bro, I can't even listen to some hip hop. If that beat fire, that beat fire.
- 44:10I can't even get down with some hip hop that ain't saying nothing if that beat
- 44:14is fire. See, I can't. I can't. I got to turn it off.
- 44:18But I want to talk about some lyrics.
- 44:22You're going to recognize this once I get into it.
- 44:26I'm going to read these lyrics. And when I say read, I am not making these up.
- 44:32These are the lyrics to a popular song. So here we go. It's 2 a.m.
- 44:40I'm just getting in about to check my message.
- 44:48Let me get through this. Let me get through this. No one is called.
- 44:51You know, I'm singing a song in my head as you said.
- 44:54No one is called, but my homies and some bill collectors.
- 44:59Cellular rings. Somebody wants to borrow money.
- 45:03I two way her. She don't hit me back. Something is funny.
- 45:09Remember, it's 2 a.m. Yes, sir. So I called her mother's house.
- 45:14And asked her had she seen my baby. It's 2 a.m.
- 45:19I drove my six around looking for that missing lady. It's 2 a.m.
- 45:26Got back in, turned the TV on, and caught the news. It's 2 a.m.
- 45:32Then I put my head on my head because I'm so confused.
- 45:36First, you called that woman mama at 2 a.m.? Red flag.
- 45:43Especially considering that you're probably the same age as her mom at that time in this life.
- 45:48You took your car back out at 2 a.m.
- 45:51To drive around to look for it. Where are you? What you what you what you looking for?
- 45:56Her car? Where do you think she was going to be at 2 a.m.? Just hanging out somewhere?
- 46:01So you you you stalking basically now you driving past somebody's crib at 2
- 46:05in the morning. But let me continue.
- 46:09Then I turned the TV down. because I thought I heard a squeaky sound.
- 46:15Something's going on upstairs because I know nobody else lives here.
- 46:22So if you and your girl don't live together, that means she purposely brought
- 46:31another cat back to your crib?
- 46:34Stop it! We got to remember, you know, the brother who wrote the music has been
- 46:40proven to be kind of a weirdo by this point.
- 46:44You called her mama. You took your car out and drove around for however long,
- 46:52came back in, turned on the news.
- 46:56At no point did you think to go check upstairs that never
- 47:00crossed your mind man this
- 47:03is absolutely the silliest song ever
- 47:07bro but you know i've been singing in my head ever since
- 47:10you started saying the words that
- 47:13is the genius of kales because the
- 47:16music the melody everything is catchy
- 47:19we're all singing it this song
- 47:22is stupidest man this song so stupid bro
- 47:25this is the dumbest song ever is it
- 47:28or is the follow-up you're talking
- 47:31about the end where he goes don't i know you from somewhere so you forgot about
- 47:36him hold on hold on you almost beat him to death hold on you forgot about it
- 47:40hold on i ain't asking you no questions i don't you ain't got no business in
- 47:46my you in my crib. One, you in my crib.
- 47:49But two, you in my crib with my lady. That's right. This is the follow-up. I'm tripping.
- 47:54This is the follow-up to the first one. Yeah.
- 47:57But you in my crib with my lady. I ain't asking you no questions, bro.
- 48:02I know we were just talking about guns, but that dang thing about to come out. I'm sorry.
- 48:07We've already said it's for protecting our Yeah, yeah. That dang thing coming out.
- 48:11And the only difference between the first video and this is he didn't have a ball head.
- 48:16All he had was braids he still had to go to same brother and the 25 dudes who
- 48:23came walking in at the end which is also dumb because i'm i now i'm shooting all y'all.
- 48:31Four y'all dudes why y'all in my crib now now now i'm just opening fire not
- 48:37to mention i'm mr b what yeah yeah it's just a a silly song bro it's just one
- 48:44day i was just like man do you know what's a stupid-ass song, this
- 48:48is a stupid-ass song. I thought you were going to bring up some Biggie lyrics.
- 48:52Because, you know, Biggie got some lyrics back in the day that you read them. You go, oh.
- 48:56What? Yeah, he got some...
- 49:00But so does Cam. Give me some. Well, I ain't going to say it.
- 49:07I ain't going to say it. Oh, it's some explicit stuff.
- 49:11Man, some crazy stuff. Okay, okay. Well, I've always felt that way about Big
- 49:15Pun and I don't want to be a player no more. Oh, yeah. It's just like, okay, you flowing.
- 49:19I'm like, but some of this is like really stupid, bro.
- 49:22Like when you actually listen to what he's saying, it's just like, this is dumb.
- 49:27Like so dumb. But you know Cam and Mace do that to each other a lot.
- 49:32Like Mace will read lyrics from Cam. And Cam, like as soon as he would say it,
- 49:36Cam would just bust out laughing.
- 49:37And Cam would be like, that's all right. You got some out there to suspect too.
- 49:41I'm going to find them. But if you go back and listen to some of those,
- 49:44like Horse and Cares, there's stuff on Horse and Cares. You're like,
- 49:47it beats so fire when Horse and Cares are crazy.
- 49:49But you're like, what? You did what?
- 49:54Who does that? Or Biggie? you look so good yeah man nah biggie nah I ain't doing that yeah,
- 50:04yeah in the 600 ain't there smoking cigar come over here I think I see your baby father.
- 50:12What oh man that's my rant okay well we gonna we gonna transition,
- 50:27We're going to close this thing out with some...
- 50:29Well, before that, though, we got to do our five on the blackhand side.
- 50:34Oh, what you got? Well, let's just talk about Harlem Night since we started
- 50:38talking about it earlier. So...
- 50:42Starting at Sugar's, running errands for him, which, by the way,
- 50:46what was it, like two or three in the morning?
- 50:48He shows up. Dude asking to leave. Hey, man, this dude, your kids are unlucky.
- 50:54Now, granted, I understand that part. This is my club.
- 50:57I'm not kicking nobody out. I understand that, too. But I also understand,
- 51:01oh, boy, you got money on the table.
- 51:02Yeah, get him out. Yeah, if he distracting you, he distracting you.
- 51:05So I understand that part, too.
- 51:07So he didn't leave. he was already a tough guy whatever age he was at that time
- 51:12little Trey from Boys in the Hood,
- 51:16which we gotta do one of these days on our five on the black side,
- 51:21but then it shows when he's grown and in comes Tommy in comes Chawanna Man and
- 51:28Jasmine Guy I'm forgetting the names y'all cause Tommy played Tommy in everything
- 51:32he ever did so it's easy let me see Tommy Ford is his name Juana man didn't
- 51:39have a name, I don't think.
- 51:41Yeah, he, yeah. But Jasmine Guy was, gosh, what was her name?
- 51:45Like Dominique. Dominique LaRue. Dominique LaRue, there you go.
- 51:48Creole. Creole, yeah. Oh, you don't want to mess around with them Creoles. No, man.
- 51:53They bring your drawers in the yard and you can't leave the house.
- 51:58Just one of the dumbest things to say. But Sugar told him, leave her alone.
- 52:05Yep. Not to be messed with.
- 52:07What did he do? Took flowers, went, offended the big man, and they sent a hit
- 52:13squad, then they respond, and then they set up, what's his name? Sunshine.
- 52:21What's the dude's name? They ran the numbers.
- 52:25Hey, baby, this is that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:30What was his name? Phil Cantone was the cop. Phil Cantone was the cop.
- 52:35Was it Tommy? No, it wasn't Tommy. Bobby? No.
- 52:40Because he called his wife. Richie. Richie. Richie. Hey, Barbara.
- 52:45This is Richie. Yeah, I ain't never coming home again. Have a nice life.
- 52:49No, no. He said, take it easy. Like one of your homeboys. Hey,
- 52:53man, take it easy. I'll holler at you tomorrow.
- 52:56Yeah, yeah. Everything he did in that movie led to a response from Sugar.
- 53:04And the crew. Everything. He forced them to go into hiding. It was all quick fought.
- 53:11Because he was with, oh, let's not even forget about with Arsenio Hall and Tommy
- 53:17now. Yeah. Yeah. Like everything.
- 53:19Yeah. You didn't have to go see Tommy. Yeah.
- 53:22You could have just left it alone. Well, actually, he did, though.
- 53:26Sugar told him to go see Tommy. You right. You right. Yeah.
- 53:29Yeah. That was their way of trying to figure out if they could get out of old
- 53:32boy trying to strong arm him. Right.
- 53:35Then, not only do you mess with the girl, you go to the crib.
- 53:41And he says, oh, you have a nice place. Well, it doesn't belong to me.
- 53:44I'm out. Yeah. In that situation. Who got, yeah, because who got keys to this
- 53:49door while I'm in here handling my business? Who in here? Yeah. Right now?
- 53:53Yeah, all that. And then not only that. And you find the pistol under her pillow.
- 53:57I'm gone. For sure. While she in the bathroom. For sure. Up.
- 54:00For sure. But no, you wanted to stay around and kill her. Right.
- 54:04Get what you needed. Right. Dip on out. And then kill her and dip out.
- 54:09Instead, like, as soon as she went in to put lingerie on, I'm a ghost. Yeah. I'm out. Yeah.
- 54:16Nah. Yeah, no, I feel you. I feel you. Still a great movie.
- 54:19An absolutely great movie. I never looked at it like that, but you're right.
- 54:25Eddie Murphy did start all of the drama.
- 54:28He quick-started all the drama because from get-go, Sugar was like, hey, we had a good run.
- 54:36Let's just move to another city. Nah, Sugar, we ain't running.
- 54:40We ain't running, Sugar. We ain't punks.
- 54:42We ain't no punk. And Sugar's like, nah, bro, it ain't about being a punk, though.
- 54:47It's about being smart. Like, we ain't soldiers. He kept telling him that.
- 54:51We ain't soldiers. We ain't gangsters. We hustlers. We get money.
- 54:57He wanted to be the tough guy. Yep. So you're right.
- 55:01You're right. He was the one who kept all the shit going. But if you look back
- 55:04at a lot of those movies that we grew up on.
- 55:08Hero of the movie always ends
- 55:11up being a bad guy dude you ever
- 55:13notice that netflix has a show about cobra kai
- 55:16they don't have a show about daniel son they got a
- 55:19show about cobra kai all right wait wait wait wait i think
- 55:23you need to tell everybody your daniel son theory
- 55:26bro daniel son should have left that girl alone he never
- 55:29would have got his ass whooped and he would have never had to
- 55:31go learn karate what did he do he kept antagonizing
- 55:36everything dude just go away we're
- 55:40talking about the first karate kid y'all 1984 just go away she got a man leave
- 55:48her alone okay you know what i'm saying like what would you do because like
- 55:54back in the day so so what you and i have been around each other.
- 55:59We've known each other since what? Second grade? Third grade?
- 56:03I would say kindergarten, bro. Kindergarten? Yeah.
- 56:07You've been married for a long time. 25 years, bro. Y'all have been together forever.
- 56:12I have been around your wife as long as you have because your wife's sister
- 56:16and my sister grew up in France.
- 56:19Dog, if we are out kicking it,
- 56:22and you know as many new dudes used to move into where we from. For sure.
- 56:26And one of them trying to holler at your lady, we
- 56:29jump we're whooping the ass let's do that even though
- 56:33that's my fight right but if i'm there oh
- 56:36yeah get in where you fit in jumping off yeah get in
- 56:39yeah get in where you fit in yeah but the whole movie if you go back and watch
- 56:43karate kid daniel's son was praised as some hero he wasn't you just left cobra
- 56:50kai alone and left this man to be with his lady he would have never had to put
- 56:54hands on They were not the bullies. He was the bully. He was the bully.
- 56:58It started at the beach. Yes. That night at the beach. Did he kick the radio or something? Yeah.
- 57:05So they responded. Yeah. Why you kick my radio, homie?
- 57:09And Ann whooped him and then was like, go home, dude. Leave us alone.
- 57:12Leave us alone. What did he do? He went and found Mr. Miyaz.
- 57:20Go home, man. Leave me alone. Like, it's just. Yeah.
- 57:25I whipped you already I ain't trying to keep whooping
- 57:28you dude leave me alone it's like I told you a little
- 57:31while ago roll the window down sitting at the drive through
- 57:33that beat it just wouldn't leave it's like dude just leave I'm
- 57:37swatting at it she's swatting at it so but yes there are so many movies that
- 57:43we all grew up loving where if you go back and watch it the person who you praise
- 57:49as the hero was the person who actually initiated all of the BS Yes.
- 57:55That's all I'm saying. Now, I'm not saying. I like that theory,
- 57:57bro. I'm not saying Karate Kid is not a great movie. I'd watch it again right
- 58:00now, but I'd watch it with a different perspective.
- 58:04But like I said, Netflix came calling Cobra Kai. They didn't come calling Daniel's son.
- 58:08Yeah, he may have appeared on the show later, but. You didn't watch Cobra Kai, did you?
- 58:13No. They kind of touch on that, though.
- 58:16I'm sure they do. They kind of touch on that when he actually meets up with Daniel as a grown-up.
- 58:23He kind of tells him like dude like you were the asshole
- 58:26not me you know had you just left me alone i wouldn't have beat you and he
- 58:29was like he told me he said you he said you you you cheated
- 58:32at the tournament he was like you shouldn't have won because you cheated but
- 58:36he was like yeah he was like you think that my life was was you know this daniel
- 58:40he was like he was like you were he was like you were the one he was like i
- 58:45didn't really have no beef with you he was like you had beef with me. He sure did.
- 58:51Yeah. That crane kick. That's another thing. So you get away with the crane
- 58:55kick. The crane kick was illegal.
- 58:57Yeah. Yeah. He totally told him that. He was like, yeah. He was like,
- 59:00you were the one. He was like, not me.
- 59:02He was like, so now my life is shit. I'm giving away the plot to Cobra Kai.
- 59:07Sorry, y'all. He was like, my life is shit. Your life is great.
- 59:10He was like, but really, you're the asshole in the story, not me.
- 59:15Which is why Cobra Kai started out being about johnny lawrence it eventually
- 59:20morphed into being about daniel la russo and his kids but,
- 59:26but yeah no no you're right i like that bro i i i actually love that take i
- 59:32i wish you would uh come up with more man because it's just an interesting perspective
- 59:36you know i'm i will i'll have i'll have some more i'm silly and i like to i
- 59:41like to laugh at uh off the wall type stuff anyway.
- 59:44I got a different sense of humor. So yeah, keep it coming, man.
- 59:49So with that, y'all, it's time for our closing monologue.
- 59:56And let me just let my brother take it away.
- 59:59Appreciate it. So I want to speak on something that's near and dear to me and
- 1:00:03my family, affects my son and his lady and his daughter on a daily basis.
- 1:00:10So I want to talk about vaccines and autism.
- 1:00:16So as I said, I'm the grandfather of an autistic child.
- 1:00:21Myth of vaccines and autism started back in 1998 by Andrew Wakefield.
- 1:00:26He published a study claiming that there was a link between vaccines and autism.
- 1:00:33That study was later exposed as being fraudulent. The data was faked.
- 1:00:37He had financial motives, and he even lost his medical license.
- 1:00:42But there are people out here today, such as old Gravel Voice,
- 1:00:46that keep spreading the same lie.
- 1:00:48There's been decades of solid, solid research that proved this to be false.
- 1:00:54There were 16, so far I believe, there have been 16 population-based studies
- 1:01:00and even a meta-analysis of over 1.2 million children and countless global reviews
- 1:01:08consistently find no link between vaccines and autism.
- 1:01:11The real reason we see more autism diagnoses today,
- 1:01:15and I think you and I had this conversation in the past and we're
- 1:01:18trying to be not trying to be heartless about the
- 1:01:20situation where we grew up there was a class
- 1:01:23of children that never left that class there were
- 1:01:27plenty of times people would make jokes about those children and so on and so
- 1:01:30forth didn't want to ride the bus to school right there was a very good chance
- 1:01:34that a lot of those children we grew up with were autistic misdiagnosed basically
- 1:01:39right or undiagnosed yeah we didn't have the understanding or the language to
- 1:01:44recognize you back then.
- 1:01:46So in the meantime, vaccines have saved millions of lives, pushed life expectancy higher.
- 1:01:51I can provide proof of that if you'd like. It nearly wiped out deadly diseases.
- 1:01:56Unfortunately, a couple have
- 1:01:57come back over the last few years because of this. The truth is simple.
- 1:02:01When it's all said and done, vaccine saves lives. They do not cause autism. Boom.
- 1:02:08Period. End of discussion. All right, man. At least for me.
- 1:02:13That's great. So we're going to leave it there, y'all.
