  [rock music] Welcome, listener, to
• 0:30
Full Spectrum Cycling. So show number 273. Whoa. Mm. Wow. Here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Seems like it only started- Oh, those are crickets. [laughs] Yeah, I think I hit the cricket button too. Wow. You have crickets.
• 0:47
Let, let's listen to that again. Okay. I'll, I will respond. I'm sorry. [laughs] I didn't know it needed to be bang, bang. Damn dead air. There they are, folks, crickets. Crickets. Uh, 273, that's the show today.
• 1:01
Podcast MKE Studio in Milwaukee. Same place we had Steel is Real last weekend. Yes, indeed. That was a blast. That was a good time. Yeah. How'd that go for you guys? Yeah. Very good. Very good. Yeah.
• 1:17
I kind of jumped on the, uh... I'm gonna block traffic. Yeah. That worked out well because we- Yeah... I, I don't know. I- There was a few times where that was needed... I, I, I, yeah. Yeah. I just, I felt like I left
• 1:32
unregulated or unmarshaled on that one. Yeah. It would've been kind of a hassle. Right. It was just enough people that it could have been problematic. But speaking of that, how many people were there?
• 1:41
Did you get a count? I don't know. I didn't get a count. I, I think, you know, people came and went a little bit, 35-ish- Yeah. Oh, yeah... on the long end and, you know, kind of towards the end it thinned out some.
• 1:50
Yeah, it was fun. When people got a little bit toasty. [laughs] You know, I, I- That was-... I rarely- [laughs]... eat at... What, Skipper Buds? No, what's that called? Yeah, see him here. [laughs] Barnacle Buds.
• 2:02
Barnacle Buds, but that was a pretty proper burger. I thought it was a pretty better. Yeah. Yeah. Look at listening to all that stuff going on there. I, I thought it was a pretty, a pretty proper burger for, you know.
• 2:15
Pretty proper bur, b- pop, pop. [laughs] Try say that 10 times fast. Proper burger for Tony Burger. [laughs] Right? Uh, yeah. Spelled different. They did a decent job.
• 2:24
I was happy with that, being that it was the only real food stop. I also, for the record, threw one ball at Kaz's mini bowl, striked it. Yep. Called myself... You too? Same here.
• 2:36
Called myself- Struck it in one and you're out... I, yep, yep. I'm, uh, like, that was it. [laughs] Leave it on top. I'm like, "I'm done. I, I-" George Costanza-ing it. Right? I'm like- Sorry, Lons, but yeah.
• 2:45
I don't, I don't- I'm gonna make the Seinfeld reference for that one. [laughs] I don't- I'm going out on top, baby. I don't know that that, those lanes were much longer than this room.
• 2:53
[laughs] Those lanes were not longer than this room. They're, they're very short. There's no way. [laughs] They were tiny. Yeah, it was like, it was like flat track skee ball. Yeah. That's kind of how it felt.
• 3:01
Yeah, it, it's like duckpin sized balls and, and pins, but a really short lane. Yeah. With, uh, human pin setters. Right, that was cool.
• 3:09
I was surprised that they had- They had two of them there, 'cause it was that busy... uh, actually had three of them. Three of them. Was it three? Well, one guy was doing two lanes and the other- Okay. Wow.
• 3:16
Yeah, he was the one doing the spin. Yep. And whatever. W- uh- He's doing, like, the cocktail- So apparently-... bottle spinning pin...
• 3:23
who was telling me this, that if they roll the, um, if they roll a tennis ball with the, um, rubber bands on it, that's kind of like the, the hint to roll them a tip. Oh, really?
• 3:36
Like, throw some money in it and then whip it down. Oh, funny. I don't know if it was- Were tennis balls there? Yeah, yeah. I didn't know that. No.
• 3:40
Well, I don't know if it was there, but it, at, like, a different- Interesting... mini bowl place. I didn't see it either, but I, I greased those guys pretty good, so. It was a fun stop.
• 3:48
Yeah, there was a fat stack [laughs] on the table. I was like, "What the hell is going on here?" [laughs] I, I also tipped the bartender a lot, a lot of money for- Yeah... three beers.
• 3:55
And then the bar wanted money for its kind of rental of the lanes, too, and I'm like- Mm... everybody's getting money here. Yep. But we did have fun. But we had fun. Yeah. So. Yeah.
• 4:01
It was a- And definitely that was a big crowd for that place, for sure. So, you know, normally- Yeah... p- you, it's $5 a game per person. Oh. If you're gonna roll a whole game. Uh, yeah.
• 4:11
So, you know, it's pretty affordable. Yeah. Right. And the El Tapatio truck is right outside. And- I've noticed that... they do, they split that money with the pin setters- Setters, right... supposedly. So.
• 4:22
I think they did okay. They, yeah, I think they did- I think every place we-... well, they did b-... stopped at did fine... [laughs] they did better than if we would've done the 50/50 thing, so. Oh, there, yeah.
• 4:29
And they had to go around and suck more money out of people's pockets. [laughs] I had none.
• 4:33
I had, not until, I still have a whole bunch of cash in my pocket now because I cash accumulated at the, uh, Barnacle Buds place. Oh, right on. [laughs] Yeah, so it was, uh, yeah, Hollander, Nomad,
• 4:46
Kaz's, that, the Kashibi- With, with, with a slight surprise at [laughs] the first half. What was that? Well, walking inside going like, "Well, the front is, inside isn't really open." And I was like, "What?"
• 4:57
Oh, at Nomad? Yeah, it was like- Well, they opened at 11:00, which is right when we got there. Oh, yeah. But whatever. Funny. Yeah, so- It was f- it was funny just watching some people get a little squirmy about that.
• 5:08
Not us, but [clears throat] people that are from there. Yes, I didn't realize- Who were like, "What? What? What do you mean they're not da, da, da, da, da?"
• 5:16
And I'm just like, "Well, I, I don't-" I didn't realize until I saw Eric Idle next to you that that dude's really tall. Eric Idle. Eric Idle. [laughs] The- The- Isn't he from Monty Python? No. Oh, shoot. What's his name?
• 5:28
Yes, he is. What's his name? Mike Idle? Mike Idle. Thank you. Not, not spelled- [laughs] Every time I say it- Not spelled the same way... I screw up. Right. Right. [laughs] But, you know, yeah, he's...
• 5:36
That guy's, you know, pretty damn tall. Well, I'm short, though, too, so. You're not that short. I'm short, too, but- Yeah. Depends on where you're standing in the patio- Yeah... area. Yeah.
• 5:45
Because it is on a slight incline. Uh-huh. Because you go to one end of the bar and you're- Bar... you're, like, here, and then you go the further west and you're about here. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah, yeah. So, [laughs] yeah.
• 6:00
Not uncommon. Uh, I, uh- Yeah, it was fun So I, did you see my little camera I had? Mm-hmm. Uh, yeah. It worked all right.
• 6:08
Uh, it's very sensitive to positioning of sun and such, which is cool, but I got some semi-decent shots with it and- Fun... 65 bucks. It's right there- Right. It's got the- It's called a, it's called a- Camp Snap...
• 6:22
Camp Snap. And I thought, "Well, if I'm gonna pull it out while I'm riding and I might fumble it and drop it on the ground, it's way- Who cares?... it's way better than my phone."
• 6:30
Yeah, that's who- Pull the SD card out... that reminded me of, uh, uh, Scanlan, when he had that one camera. I mean, like, it was like a- Film... film- Yeah, that's-... film camera...
• 6:39
that's what they're designing it to be like. Exactly. Fil-film. Film.
• 6:43
But he was just like, "I, I br- I br- I brought it along and I'm just gonna take some pictures just to see and then process them and see how it turns out." Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
• 6:49
And there were some good ones that he had down there. Oh, posing everybody. Paint the word picture. Right on. Uh- But it, it's, it's a cool little device. I like, I like the marketing behind it.
• 7:01
I like, you know, the intention. I have a feeling I'll probably buy one one of these days too, and give it to Daniel so that he can just, you know, walk around. Because I think he can withstand a fair amount of abuse.
• 7:12
Yeah. There was, there's some little tough camera that was pretty inexpensive that I, I know Garrett had it, and you just click, click, click, click, click, click- Ooh... stuffed animal, stuffed animal, bed- Yeah...
• 7:22
wall, click, click, click. I'm sure he'd like that. Do, boom. And then it would fly at me. Yeah. Like... Yeah. Maybe- Was that- See, see how long it lasts. It's like a torture test for that camera. Right. Yeah.
• 7:33
Uh, there are some, uh, photos in the show notes if you want to see what they look like. Cool. I didn't do a whole lot, I didn't do a whole lot of post-processing. A little cropping and stuff, but- Good...
• 7:43
they got a couple different filters you can put in there. I don't think I took one picture. Oh, wait, I did. I was- I took a picture- Oh... of Portovita on the side of the camper at Nomad. Oh.
• 7:52
I think that's the only picture I took. I like that camper simply for when I did see it being used as a stage. There you go. That reggae Sunday. And I'm like, "Okay, then everything about it being here makes sense."
• 8:06
Yeah. [laughs] We were there right before that. Just for that, for that one, that one deal. Yeah. And I'm just like, yeah, yeah. There was a good, uh, group shot in front of said camper.
• 8:14
You know what there was a lot of, though? A lot of- There was a lot of top of the hills. A lot of top of the hills? Did you have many hills, top- There, there-... hilltoppers?... there were short hills, long hills.
• 8:28
[laughs] Are you ready? I'm ready. Is it that side? Well, you can... Yeah. Yeah, it's that side. It's this side. Uh, JK. JK. Yes. I had four pictures. Rogue. [laughs] Are you ready? Rogue- I'm ready. I'm ready...
• 8:42
Rogue- You're so ready... Bats- Rogue Brewing Batsquatch Hazy IPA. Yeah, so it's like a vampire Samsclanch hybrid. 6.7 percentiles. Very tasty. Doesn't taste 6.7. Yeah. Nope. No, it's got a good flavor to it. Yeah.
• 8:57
It's, it's a little burpy. A little bit. I will demonstrate shortly. Hazy and peezy and juicy. It is, uh- I'm gonna say- Where are they out of? They're out of somewhere in Oregon. Oregon. Bend? Newport, Oregon. Newport.
• 9:10
New Bend? Newportville. They're the makers of- Port Bend?... Dead Guy Ale- True... after Jerry Garcia died, and the initial bottles glowed in the dark, the labels. Wow. Really cool. Oh, I w- uh, is that the...
• 9:24
We, we had, we had that once. Mm-hmm. And I almost picked it up again. And the one that they have over at La Casina. I can't remember the... Ah, damn it. I was almost gonna buy it, but it was not chilled.
• 9:35
Dead Guy Ale hits- It was not chilled... hits hard... and I only had an hour. Right. So I had to find something that was in the cooler. No. Dead Guy Ale hits pretty heavy. True that.
• 9:45
Last week after the show something hit pretty heavy too, didn't it? [laughs] Well- Beats. [laughs] Beats, beats, beats, beats. I, that was the first time I'd been to Wiggle Room. There's also... Well, yeah. Me too.
• 9:57
It's not that new. It's pretty new. Yeah. It's since April, I think. Yeah. I mean, it was Le Luxury Lounge- I loved it... for many years. It is, it's gorgeous. I mean, that's a whole lot of vinyl.
• 10:06
Holy crap, that's a lot of vinyl. And there's some very interesting building that went on in, like, bass traps and things that do sound absorbing or reflecting. Yeah.
• 10:16
And then- It's like close, you must close this door for the sound to be- [laughs]... like, I, I... That was amazing to watch that. Right? And on the main- Wa- watching people getting...
• 10:24
Yeah, one, one's getting finger wagged [laughs] by Chris Treanor. Oh, right, right. On the actual- I was like, "Wow"... on the actual DJ booth itself. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
• 10:31
It was like, it was like, "No, no, the door has to be closed." I, I gotta... I don't know what Chris Treanor looks like. "Keep the vibe going. Keep the vibe going." Not familiar either, but- He was behind the bar.
• 10:39
The short- Oh... balder- Yeah. I seen... ish- Sort of... shaved his head- Didn't really know... with a beard. We'll get to it. Yep. Yeah.
• 10:45
Uh, the, the actual DJ booth itself where the turntables are and everything- Mm-hmm... goes all the way through the floor down into the basement. To keep everything anchored.
• 10:53
It's, like, anchored to the basement floor so it, you can bounce and do whatever you want on the floor and it won't- Nice... affect the turntables or anything.
• 11:01
Somebody spent a bunch of money in engineering in there to make that an interesting- I like it... venue. I like it. I just didn't like- I'd say stop by... going home. Opens at 4:00 every day, as far as I know.
• 11:14
And across from the trailer park. True that. And nearby The Blackbird. Yeah. It's in your Bay- You got your options... it's in your Bay View, Milwaukee area. Yeah. Well, it's like your South Bay View. Yeah.
• 11:23
Very South Bay View. North Cudahy. [laughs] The North Cud. And there, that other one, Tippecanoe. Oh, and Tigger too, whatever. How was your ride home, Tony? Yeah. I- [laughs]... crashed.
• 11:38
[laughs] At least it was on a non-trafficked street. I- Or a path... you know, I, so I was, I was... I had a pretty bad light.
• 11:46
I'm gonna openly admit that my light wasn't very bright, and I probably had too much to drink. [laughs] And crossing the Marsupial Bridge, there was construction equipment. They're doing a bunch of work.
• 12:00
And I had to cut into the gravel, and as soon as I cut in the gravel I'm like, "I'm going way too fast to do this." And which was only, like, 14. And I ended up-... laying it down, but, you know, it's...
• 12:13
And I haven't really, like, fully inspected it. I might have bent a, a wide loader a little bit. Figure those are like bumper car bumpers. Exactly. So, yeah... I'm like, I, I got, I...
• 12:24
The bike was incredibly dusty when I got up, 'cause it was all that gravel from the- [laughs] Um, my backpack, it's, I don't have it with me, but it was dusty. I had to wash my hoodie, my WMC hoodie.
• 12:34
But I had very minor injuries, and I got up and I'm like- [laughs]... "Well, you're, you're a dumb ass" and I finished [laughs] riding home. Right on. I had my...
• 12:44
You know, it was, it was not enough that I was even very sore. You know? It's not like, like Dan Kohler's crash on his elbow. I mean, I felt, I immediately thought of him. I'm like, "Oh, I crashed on gravel. Oh, damn."
• 12:53
Oh, no, that's, that was, those are- That thing's bad... But that, yeah, that's, that's a mountain bike crash. Those guys are dumb. You don't wanna ride your bike off road anymore, not at your advanced age.
• 13:04
[laughs] Uh, try and get to the- I d- I didn't, I didn't realize it was gonna make ding noises when I just sent it through. Ding. I just sent it. Ding goes the thing. But yeah, it- Sorry...
• 13:14
you know, the Tuesday, and then, and then Saturday was pretty damn fun, and then Sunday we, I ended up at Amorphic for hanging out and trying those wings from that- Oh, I did wanna- What are they called?
• 13:26
They're, uh- Uh, Double B's- Double D's... or something like that. Double T. They're, they were okay. Yeah. I, I, I'll do it again. I went out to Cedarburg for the wine and- Cheese... something harvest festival.
• 13:42
It was just rainy and I don't know. They closed the street down. Sunday was... Yeah, it was rainy. And yeah.
• 13:48
So we just, like, sta- sit outside a couple of the bars and just looked at the Pack- My, uh [laughs] Looked at the Packer game going- Speaking of-... "Okay, they're looking good"...
• 13:55
speaking of rainy Sunday, uh, my weather station recorded almost two inches of rain. Yeah, I got 1.8. Yeah [laughs], me too. That's what it said. I'm glad mine's actually producing- Right. Money... real money right now.
• 14:07
Yeah. But- But I still like watching it to see, you know, it's like, "Oh, wow. That's a lot of rain." So is it, like, when more stations get added, the, the daily, uh, reward goes down? I'm gonna guess maybe.
• 14:19
'Cause, 'cause I think- That's why they have only certain many in, in each quad... Yeah, 'cause I think yours originally was making almost three per day, and now it's like- Yeah, 2.8... 2.5 or something. Yep.
• 14:29
But it, it is making money, and I can't really tell, I haven't delved into it enough to see how often it hits my, my Helium miner in my house. Helium.
• 14:39
There seems to be another, another one in the near area that must have a stronger signal. Every once in mine, every once in a while mine will pick up someone else's.
• 14:48
But otherwise, I watch it fairly regularly, 'cause I'm a nerd. Right? Just fun. It's fun knowing what's going on in your own backyard. Molly loves it. Like, "It is cool." So yeah. See that? Mm-hmm. That's pretty cool.
• 15:03
That's a n- Shiny... that's a new, shiny WMC. If, if, uh- Uh, 91.7 sticker Put it on things that will not- And like-... decay to obsolescence. Yeah, it'll probably go on my toolbox k- Yeah. Yes...
• 15:17
with, with, with all the 10,000 other stickers- Me, it's probably gonna go on-... that are on there... the refrigerator...
• 15:21
remember we were having discussions like, "No, when you get the good stickers, you gotta put it on something that's not going to go away- Right... any time." Right. You know? Yeah, that's a good one this year.
• 15:32
That, that reflectiveness is hot. Also, I don't know if you can see it in the picture, but 2024 supporter sticker's on the table now. Yep. [laughs] I leave mine on my desk at, at work.
• 15:43
That's wmc.org, folks- Oh, you like it... if you wanna listen to the greatest- Yeah, I'm just like... radio station in the world. Yeah. There's been...
• 15:49
And there, lately, these last couple of weeks have been freaking off the hook killer. Depending on when I, how I get back, what time I get back, can't remember at all, it is on the weekend or the day of Beat Street. Mm.
• 16:04
Okay. So a bunch of the jocks are gonna be spinning inside of, uh, Cactus Club. And coming from the airport and taking the bus no matter what- Damn... it's right along- Right there... the thing.
• 16:16
When's your, when's your trip? Uh, this Sunday. And so you're out next- Sunday, yes... you're out next week. I may probably need to call in for therapy. [laughs] Are you gonna rent some bikes down there? I don't know.
• 16:30
I don't know. You're gonna- I gotta, I really gotta put my finger on the pulse down there- You're going-... 'cause I don't know... you're going Miami way, is that correct? I, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
• 16:36
And I, you know, I, I feel like I'm just gonna need Speedos and roller skates. [laughs] Oh, you should- I, I think you should grab a Super 7 electric cargo or the electric, like, dirt bike thingy.
• 16:46
I'm just gonna, like, absorb a new persona. I've been- Nice... watching The Bird- Get the birds... I've been watchi- watching The Birdcage enough. I'm like- You- Don't be afraid of my Guatemalan-ness...
• 16:57
you're, you're gonna actually- You know, my natural Latin heat... are, are you gonna go and get one of those six-pack tattoos- No-... like Casey?... I'm gonna get a cutoff shirt to like here and with the tassels.
• 17:05
Oh, I like it. With the belly protruding? With the... Oh, yes. Sounds... You could get those, uh, red, white, and blue Speedos that Casey has. Well, that's why... [laughs] Yeah, right. Please don't.
• 17:15
That's why I ended up... [laughs] Shit. Oh, no, I, uh, see the picture already. I, I see the picture. Please don't. But, uh, no, that's why I got that Charlie Brown shirt. He's a clown? Good grief. Well- Oh, okay.
• 17:30
Well, because- I thought it, I thought it was just 'cause it was so bright yellow and you were doing, uh, kind of the- No, well, it, yeah, it worked for multifunction on that one. Sure.
• 17:39
Where it was like, okay, well, we should just get some, like, you know, like, thin, you know, Hawaiian shirts if we're gonna be down in, you know, just in tourist land instead of paying $45 for something down there.
• 17:49
Right. So I was like, yeah, but I just don't wanna get a cheesy one. They can get like- I'll get a s-... eight of, eight of them for 10 bucks somewhere probably... a cool one, and it's a Charlie Brown one.
• 17:58
Although the s- You gonna wear Miami? The thing, the things don't go all the way around on a, on a shirt. Your, Miami, is that where you said you're going? South Beach. South Beach. Art Deco.
• 18:07
The Art Deco sits right on there. So I, I need at least You have to have at least one Cuban and report back to us Hell yeah. Oh, golly.
• 18:15
I'm gonna be like, that's gonna be on the fucking daily probably, man Yeah, that should be... Thank you. I just wanna make sure. [laughs] Like a, like a, a rum punch Cuban? There's another- Or a sandwich Cuban.
• 18:22
The sandwich Cuban, man. We'll go with the rum punch Cuban, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a, um, there's another- Very few things that mix better than a Cuban. There's another sandwich That's got pickles in it.
• 18:32
Yeah, that's- [laughs] Oh... I know, I know, I know And, and ham. It has...
• 18:35
Yeah, of course, 'cause it- Yeah, I tried one once just for the, 'cause I c- can't say I hate- Can I have a Cuban with no, can I have a Cuban with no mustard and pickles? [laughs] Or pickles?
• 18:44
Uh, you can leave- I'm, I'm, I'm all right with mustard... you can leave is what you can do. [laughs] Yeah. No- Yeah, you wanna stump the chef, they'll just be like, "What are you talking about?"
• 18:53
All right, so- "I've never heard of such a thing."... bike stuff, just because this is sort of ostensibly a show with cycling stuff, somewhat. We've rode bikes. We rode bike. Car Free Week. Yeah. When's that?
• 19:04
September 30th through October 6th. Okay, I can do that. Yeah. Yeah. I know Jake, Jake kinda already does. [laughs] Yeah, my, it's been, I've been car-free since, uh, early 2020.
• 19:14
[laughs] So, [laughs] like this whole decade has been car-free for me, essentially. Um, it is, I, I, it's a Milwaukee-based thing. Oh, really? But I think it's a worldwide
• 19:26
ask, basically, and it's, uh, Ian Kleptar from- Mm. Mm-hmm... Bicycle Benefits. There's a website, carfreeweek.org. You can pledge- Did we pass him?... to be car-free.
• 19:38
I- When we were riding up Humboldt, was that who that was? If it was Ian, then it was. I think, I'm pretty sure it was Ian. I don't know.
• 19:45
You looked at him, but then I went and looked at him a couple of times like, "Oh, dude." I'm pretty sure it was Ian. Was it coming back from somewhere or going to somewhere? [laughs] We were on our way to Allander.
• 19:54
Oh, okay. Well, then I hadn't had a beer yet, so. Yeah, right. Hmm, good question. Well, I, I, I don't know. Anyway. You may remember a week or so ago, maybe two, I mentioned the, the Jeff Hall Shawano Gun- Mm-hmm...
• 20:11
40 LaMarre electric bike thing. Well, that, like Shawano Gun Fat Tire Festival was last weekend, I believe. So he rode it in the race. Uh, was also, you know, a finisher first place or top five many times.
• 20:28
Strong guy, fast guy. Old guy now, though- Yep... riding an electric bike. He says, "The most fun I've had on a bike in a while, flying down and up the hills like I was 20 again.
• 20:38
Thanks to LaMarre Cycles for making the fastest pedal-assist bike out there. Felt so much like a normal ride.
• 20:43
I rode the whole race on the lowest level, got a hell of a workout, and came home with the fastest time in the long course. If you've never ridden one, I highly recommend it." Nice.
• 20:51
"I wish getting older wasn't a thing, but it is, so why not enjoy the ride?" Good for him. Right? That's outstanding. Well, you know, somebody that's, you know, s- competed at a high level and can say- Mm-hmm...
• 21:02
"Yeah, makes me feel like I'm 20 again," heck yeah. That's, that's- Yeah... yeah, that's, that's- You can still do that, yeah. Heck yeah. I, I mean- F- N/A. Yeah.
• 21:11
I'm not sure I'm feeling like I'm 20 again, but I do n- not- I-... I do not mind ri- I pretty much ride the Omnium e-Minimax everywhere now just because it's, not only is it a great bike, but it's also got assist.
• 21:26
I have- It just, it rides so well... again, we're gonna go back with I'm really pissed my bike got stolen, my cargo bike, but my new cargo bike is a billion times better. A billion.
• 21:35
I mean, I just, it- Look, look at orange thingies. Yep. Strappy- Strappy orange thingies? Yeah, give me one of those orange thingies. These are, um- Strap... these are from Pal Mel.
• 21:44
You can see 'em, uh, on, uh- Not to be confused with Pall Mall. No Pall Mall cigarettes. Uh, Pal Mel. He's, he- No, those aren't the cheapest ones you can get... he's an Australian. He's a mate down there in Australia.
• 21:53
And he makes those doozy. I don't know if Zito ever met him, but- [laughs] I was waiting... but, um, these are straps that go on the, the rack, and they have these- Call Zito. Ask him if he's met him... these massive...
• 22:03
I'm gonna ask this guy if he met Zito and get a little report on that. And hopefully, yeah, that's a better- Yeah, that's a universal security... far better idea. Right? So- Da... but it gives these nice D-rings.
• 22:12
There's a little Velcro. Is that a Velcros? No, no. No, that's a s- that's a... Ooh. Yeah, it just- Okay, that's serious... it slides over the rails, and then these things you can put whatever you want to hold stuff on.
• 22:20
Do they flex? Oh, I get it. So- Now I get it... I mean, I... It's not cheap to ship from Australia, but also the dollar's worth quite a bit against the- Australian dollar?... Australian dollar. Is that right?
• 22:34
And so I think with shipping and everything, they were, like right around 50 for the set. Mm. And I just thought they were cool enough that I had to get 'em.
• 22:42
And I need them to strap down a bigger version of that there yellow box, which is the orange box that's sit- uh, someday I'll get around to doing a... It's outside.
• 22:52
[laughs] It's a Nanook 945, which is a big-ass box for putting camera shit in. Nanook of the North? Yeah, they're made in Canada. Canada. Yeah. I mean, Canada, eh.
• 23:01
But, uh, yeah, I mean, it, I'll, there'll be a link to... It, he d- works through Instagram. It was very seamless. I think it took about two weeks from order to actually getting 'em, so not bad- It's not bad...
• 23:12
from Australia. I mean, it's 24 hours to fricking fly there, man. Yeah, for sure. And like I said, I think, uh, my, I mean, he's not getting rich off of this 'cause I think close to half of the cost of it was shipping.
• 23:25
Shipping, right. Which I don't understand shipping from that side of the world to this side because you can ship from China to here for, like 12 cents. Right. Wanna ship something back, costs about $1,200.
• 23:38
That's 'cause they don't want it. I, I'm not sure- Tariffs... I'm not sure- Tariffs... what- Tariffs... tariffs. It's all fucking tariffs. Tariffs. That's crazy. Tariffs or something. All right, so that's Pal Mel.
• 23:48
Speaking of that, I need to... Yeah, my, uh, my other Hawaiian shirt, uh, was shipped, which means it's sitting in one of those damn f- crates down in Chi-cago. Uh-oh. You know the ones. Shipped from where? China? Yeah.
• 24:04
God, of course. Oh, I, yeah, I looked- Damn it... I, I looked, I looked at- Of course... I looked at the tra- like the, uh, the train. Yeah.

• 24:23
[laughs] Well, it's like, it's like- [laughs] I don't, I, I, I'm not such a fanboy that I order every Apple product the day it comes out anymore. But did you? No, not this t- not for a long time.
• 24:33
Not since, like, the iPhone 12 or whatever. So you pre-order it, and it shows up on your doorstep the day they say it will, shipped the day before from, you know, Shenzhen or wherever the heck. Funny.
• 24:43
It's like, yeah, it's right there, next day. Uh, I think they're trying to sort of [clears throat] curtail the use of, mm, jets for doing that for now. But you can put- It's not a bad idea, really...
• 24:55
you can put an awful lot of iPhones in a 747. Patience is a virtue. Uh, by the way, Palmel Workshop on Instagram is, uh, the place where those straps came from. I th- it looks like he makes other stuff too.
• 25:08
He's got a sewing machine, so he can sew some stuff. But a lot of it is based around the Omnium, which is obviously a great bike. Let us just ch- copy that, paste that right into- So there was a reason behind...
• 25:22
I knew there was a reason behind the Sam bad squanch, 'cause that's the thing I'm waiting for that's stuck in the container. Oh. Swede. See how it's, like, there? This looks just like- Very subtle. It's like- Yeah...
• 25:32
a Hawaiian shirt- Yeah... but with subtle Sam Squanches in there. Sam Squanch has his own island. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Oh, y- uh, this guy's a dog too. Almost another inch ride. He's got a doggy. Doggy. Mm.
• 25:43
Another inch today. Mm-hmm. Ermahgerd. We need it. Well, no we don't, 'cause I might have to cut my grass again. [laughs] Oh, fuck. I hate cutting grass. Well, good thing you got weeds then. Yeah.
• 25:54
Don't have to worry about it too much. [laughs] That's why I got weeds. And the s- the secondary- It's gonna be no grass... sandwich unicorn, while I'm down there- Like a school at recess, no grass.
• 26:04
There you go Or cl- whatever The Cuban... No. Cuban Frita. Micro clover Like your, like your lawn, no grass. Micro clover. The Cuban Frita Burger.

• 26:28
[laughs] Use your words, Michael. Lettuce and onions. Oh, shoestring. [laughs] I know, I'm trying. I can't- Other than the onions, sign me up. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I, I'm, I'm just intrigued by that patty.
• 26:38
That sounds great. So that's- Especially if there's a little chorizo in it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mm. I'm, totally, that's my other unicorn. I'm, it's like, it's like, yeah, I'll find a Cuban sandwich. I know I can do that.
• 26:46
This is my chase item. Yeah, very good. That's legit. Yep. You- I will do it on a bicycle... therapy- To get it all back to me... therapy session. Uh, let's mention the Mark Peterson GoFundMe. Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah, yeah.
• 27:01
Mark has been on the show many times. Calls lots. I don't remember how many times, but his, uh, I think he's just getting sort of shafted by the whole [sighs] healthcare system. Yep. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
• 27:14
I don't know how it works and exactly what is going on, but, uh, he does need to pay some bills, and he's just a great friend of the cycling community. So if someone, uh, hears the- Awesome... hears this and, uh,
• 27:30
wants to throw a couple of bucks his way to help with what's going on over there, there is a link in the show notes, GoFundMe. Uh, it's long, Let's Help Our Guy Mark Out. Yeah.
• 27:42
Instead of just Mark Peterson, which maybe would've been a little easier. Yeah. There you go. But there is a link in the show notes. By the way, check out the show notes. There's a lot of good information in there.
• 27:51
Love show notes. Yeah. Including shit- There's work put into, as I tell you... including shit worth doing, which, [clears throat] well, besides our f- It's local shit worth doing, but- Well, not always.
