- 0:05Welcome to three guys 6 balls NFL Podcast.
- 0:08Welcome to episode 21 of Three Guys, 6 Balls NFL Podcast.
- 0:11The first preseason game is this week.
- 0:14Football is in the air and that means fantasy football.
- 0:17Today we're going to be talking about fantasy football.
- 0:19We're going to rank our top 10 fantasy quarterbacks, and this
- 0:22is all PPR, even though it's not necessarily a thing for
- 0:26quarterbacks, but all of our rankings for fantasy football
- 0:28will be PPR rankings. And to get us started, instead
- 0:32of doing a game today, I have a question for you guys.
- 0:35I think I know the answer that Avery's going to give me, I
- 0:37think, but I could be wrong. I just don't know what Will's
- 0:40going to be in here. Here we go.
- 0:44The question I have for you guys is who is your favorite NFL
- 0:47player? Active or all time active?
- 0:50Active NFL player? Oh.
- 0:52I'm surprised Avery's thinking about it as much as he is.
- 0:55I'm trying to narrow it down. I'm also I'm actually curious to
- 1:00think who you think it is do. You want me to tell you?
- 1:02No, just just on the system. I'll say it and then you tell me
- 1:06if it was OK. I trust you.
- 1:08I could be wrong, I just that's who I think it is.
- 1:11Will do you have yours? No, I would not expect I you
- 1:19could have asked any question on earth, I would have had her
- 1:21answer probably. You don't have a favorite NFL
- 1:24player. I I truly don't think I do.
- 1:28It was Tyrone Smith, but he recently retired.
- 1:30I haven't found a new lineman to fall in love with.
- 1:33You know this would have been a good game to find out like your
- 1:37top like 20 favorite. Just give me your top 20 just
- 1:40randomly any order doesn't matter and then narrow it down.
- 1:43Go list by list to narrow down. Who's your favorite?
- 1:47Yeah. Who's your all time favorite?
- 1:48But I guess I'll go. I want to preface this by saying
- 1:52I've always been a fan of players and not necessarily
- 1:55teams. When it comes to professional
- 1:57ball. I don't know if I necessarily
- 1:59have a favorite favorite or at least one that I knew I had
- 2:03before right now. But I will say the player I am
- 2:07most excited to watch this next season is Bonex.
- 2:12That's who I thought it was. OK.
- 2:14Yeah. I was like, that's probably who
- 2:17it is, but. I want to know if you guys know
- 2:20who my favorite player is. Is he a cowboy?
- 2:23At one point in time. Oh, OK.
- 2:25All right. All right, all right.
- 2:27My second favorite. To the go someone out the
- 2:30window. My second favorite player is a
- 2:31cowboy and it's CD Lamb. It's.
- 2:33Got to be CD Lamb. OK, I said say because I was
- 2:35going to say at one point in time I would have said Dez
- 2:37Bryant. I truly think my all time
- 2:39favorite player that I've watched play and I'm going to
- 2:42get hate for this and I don't care is Tony Romo.
- 2:45I He's not a. Player.
- 2:47I know I said all time, I said all time my my all time
- 2:51favorite, all time that I've seen play, right.
- 2:55Obviously there are better players than him that were
- 2:57playing at the same time. Yeah.
- 2:58We're just talking about favorite.
- 2:59We're just talking about. Favorite My favorite that I've
- 3:01ever watched play is Tony Romo, and as I understand that I'm a
- 3:06Dallas Homer and there's a serious bias here, I just loved
- 3:09watching him play football. He was very good.
- 3:11I think he's the most under appreciated quarterback of
- 3:15Dallas's history, if not most under appreciated player of the
- 3:182000s. 2010. He just, he got such a bad rap
- 3:23and he is just better than Dallas has seen in a long time.
- 3:26My favorite active player. Let me just say, when you think
- 3:29about Tony Romo, you just think about that spin.
- 3:31Like you just see the guy coming for him and you just think of a
- 3:34spin and I don't know how he knew the guy was there, but he
- 3:37just knew somehow. Blind side spin out, throw the
- 3:39ball deep. Does car wait?
- 3:45Joel, is your guy a stealer? No.
- 3:48Did he play for the Cowboys? No.
- 3:51Do you want me to give you a hint offense or?
- 3:53Defense. Offense.
- 3:55Of course, I should have known that was a dumb, dumb question.
- 3:58Give a vague hint, don't give it.
- 4:01No, it's not your world. Is he behind you?
- 4:04You know. Oh, OK, Good question.
- 4:07He plays in the same division as the Steelers.
- 4:10Jaden Daniels. Oh, it's not Jaden Daniels.
- 4:16Oh wait. As the Steelers see, This is why
- 4:17I should listen before I answer a.
- 4:19Question. It's Derrick Henry.
- 4:20It's Derrick Henry, he said. Oh shoot.
- 4:23Idiot. I didn't know that.
- 4:24I was just like, I'm going to go full confidence and then when
- 4:27it's wrong, nice. I was going to say, I've talked
- 4:29about this guy like a billion times on this show, so.
- 4:32I just thought it was because he was just literally the most
- 4:35dominant so it's like, I mean what am I supposed to do?
- 4:38I mean, that's part of why he's my favorite player, yeah.
- 4:41Yeah, I, I don't think I have a current favorite, but I think
- 4:46I'm most excited to see Max Crosby play this year.
- 4:50I think that I'm that, yeah. I mean, him and the Joe, the
- 4:55Bosa brothers, I, I love watching him play football.
- 4:58I love watching the things they can do.
- 5:00But I like Max Crosby's airs you better, so I like watching him
- 5:03play a lot. He does.
- 5:04Have some really good energy. Dude looks like the mascot for
- 5:08the Raiders. Yeah, just like Joe Flacco used
- 5:11to be the Raven. He yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:14He looks more like the Raiders than the Raiders logo.
- 5:17I like, look at him like you're a Raider dude.
- 5:19It doesn't matter if you get traded, like won't let you
- 5:23leave. Right, Joe Flacco's a Brown, but
- 5:25he's still the Raven, yeah. All right, dude.
- 5:31Well, cool. With that question I was.
- 5:34Not yeah, I thought. I thought I might, but yeah, I
- 5:37knew Avery's answered the whole time.
- 5:39He just, he didn't know it yet. I just had to make sure I that
- 5:43that was where my mind went. But I'm like, wait, I've never
- 5:46really like thought this through.
- 5:48Well, all. Right, so now I have another
- 5:50question for will actually. Oh, no heart.
- 5:54Do you feel like doxing someone today?
- 5:56Sure, I'm in. OK, so last time you said that
- 5:59your Co worker requested that we talk about Trevor Lawrence.
- 6:02Yep. So who is your Co worker?
- 6:05OK, I've got this. I've got this sweet baby 19 year
- 6:09old employee of mine. His name is Kirk Davis.
- 6:11I often call him Kirkland's signature.
- 6:15I also call him Little Kirkin. All of this is true.
- 6:21He doesn't seem too fond of Kirkland Signature, so I don't
- 6:24call that one too much. But you know, in my head all the
- 6:27time, Yeah, he's a he's a good, good little guy.
- 6:29I mean, he's not that little, but good little guy.
- 6:32Just because he's young, he he makes me feel old because he's
- 6:3819. And when I started where we work
- 6:40now, I was 21, so I was barely older than him.
- 6:43And now I'm 31 and it's like, Oh my gosh, I've been there for so
- 6:48long. He was barely even born when I
- 6:51started working. Oh yeah, you're still for a
- 6:54little bit longer. You're still just 31.
- 6:57Yes, I am. So you said it's Kirk?
- 7:02Kirk Yes. Kirkland's signature is.
- 7:04His whole man, Alan Davis. OK, All right.
- 7:09Well, Kirk, we're excited that you're excited for us to talk
- 7:12about Trevor Lawrence. So let's get started.
- 7:15Will Trevor Lawrence finally live up to his potential this
- 7:19year? No.
- 7:20All right, let's move on. Look, I don't think it's his
- 7:25fault, though. I'm sticking with the answer no.
- 7:26And I don't think it's his fault, right?
- 7:28He's he's on another new coach this year, right?
- 7:30Yeah, Liam Cohen is a coach this year.
- 7:32He had Urban Meyer and then Darrell Bevel and then he had
- 7:36Doug Peterson, which everyone was way too excited for.
- 7:39Doug Peterson. Oh, he won the Super Bowl with
- 7:41with Philadelphia and now he's and now he's coming to
- 7:45Jacksonville. Listen, quality of team is just
- 7:49so different. Jacksonville just doesn't seem
- 7:52to give a hoot. It's something they're not
- 7:54trying. I think they're trying.
- 7:56They just, they just can't seem to put together Tom Coughlin,
- 7:59their most winning coach, 95 to 2002.
- 8:03And then since then they have not had a coach with a win, a
- 8:06winning win percentage since 2002 and they've had nine
- 8:11coaches since then. Well, eight if you don't count
- 8:13the one that hasn't started yet. Every single coach they've had
- 8:16instead of losing 1 percentage besides Tom Coughlin.
- 8:19You guys remember when Urban Meyer tried to get Tim Tebow to
- 8:21be a tight end? Didn't try.
- 8:23He made him do it. Yeah, it didn't work, but he
- 8:26made. Physically, Avery, do you have
- 8:29any thoughts on Trevor Lawrence? Yeah, I'm with Will.
- 8:32No, I don't see him living up to expectations, one, because the
- 8:35expectations were already very high.
- 8:37So I think just based on that technicality, no, I don't think
- 8:41he's ever going to get there. I can see him having a few
- 8:44flashy standout seasons that keep the hype train alive, not
- 8:49really rolling, but alive to the point where you'll eventually go
- 8:54to his like, you know, stat sheet, you know, for his career
- 8:57and you'll look at it and you'll be like, why have we been
- 8:59talking about this guy for so long?
- 9:00He's only got like out of like 10 or 12 seasons.
- 9:04You'll look at it like he only had like 2 like good seasons.
- 9:07Everything else was like just full of asterisks, whether it's
- 9:12like, well is no, his receivers were hurt or his offensive line
- 9:16got hurt or this or that, and it's going to be a bunch of
- 9:19excuses. That being said, I'm a proponent
- 9:22of you can't judge the quarterback just on his own.
- 9:25Like there are too many other things involved.
- 9:28And so I see that as like, he's in a bad situation.
- 9:31He's in Jacksonville. Like the Browns are like
- 9:37McDonald's after Super size me where it's like they got, they
- 9:41got crushed. Everyone was like, oh, they're
- 9:43the most unhealthy thing. Everyone was unhealthy.
- 9:46McDonald's just had a documentary made about them.
- 9:48It's like the Browns are the butt of the joke, but the
- 9:51Jaguars are in the same boat. They just don't get talked
- 9:55about. They're not even important
- 9:56enough. It's like Alabama.
- 9:58I live in Alabama. Everyone has jokes about
- 10:00Alabama, but everyone in Alabama is just glad they don't live in
- 10:04Mississippi. No one talks about Mississippi.
- 10:08Jacksonville is Mississippi. And so I just feel like, like
- 10:11Wilson, I don't feel like anyone else even cares over there.
- 10:15I just feel like there's not a lot of, I don't know whether
- 10:20it's just the market. They just can't get themselves
- 10:22out of it. They can't sign free agents,
- 10:23whatever it is, just dysfunction.
- 10:25I just think if he doesn't leave there, I don't even think he'll
- 10:29get those flashy seasons. OK, well, to go back to
- 10:33something that Will said, he mentioned the coaching.
- 10:35So they hired Liam Cohen this offseason and they also brought
- 10:39in a guy by the name of Grant Udinsky to be their offensive
- 10:42coordinator. If you guys aren't familiar with
- 10:44him, he was the assistant offensive coordinator and the
- 10:48assistant quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Vikings last year.
- 10:51So he was part of a staff that helped Sam Darnold have one of
- 10:55the best seasons that he's ever had.
- 10:57And so, you know, you look at Liam Cohen as well.
- 11:00He took Baker Mayfield to the next level.
- 11:02Baker Mayfield had never done anything close to what he had
- 11:05done last season. And so you have Liam Cohen, who
- 11:07did what he did with Baker Mayfield.
- 11:09You have Grant Udinsky, who did what he did with the Vikings and
- 11:12Sam Darnold. Do you think that that could
- 11:15change the way that Trevor Lawrence plays this season?
- 11:17I mean, I think it has potential to, right.
- 11:20Obviously you're a different coaching and hopefully you get
- 11:23the team to buy into the coaching.
- 11:25But it's the same thing that Marcus Mariota ran into in
- 11:29Tennessee, just perpetual Vadnais and it was what, 5
- 11:33different offensive coordinators in four years?
- 11:35And it was just time of time. And for time, you change the
- 11:38system too many times. The guys that have been there
- 11:41for for a long time, I'm trying to learn another new playbook,
- 11:44another new offense, another new everything.
- 11:47You just get burnt out on it and you you just can't be successful
- 11:50because you're over learning with with different information.
- 11:53I just don't see a coach change doing much over there.
- 11:56From my point of view, I don't see a lot happening, at least
- 11:59not like record wise or making the play.
- 12:02I mean, doing anything in the playoffs, maybe they sneak in,
- 12:05but I don't think that coaching is going to change anything.
- 12:09I think it's more of a macro issue.
- 12:12I think part of it is just the Jaguars.
- 12:13I just never see them do anything.
- 12:15I don't feel like anything's ever really going to change.
- 12:17They'll get some stars on their team.
- 12:19They had that really good running back a while ago.
- 12:22Oh wait, now I'm thinking of someone else.
- 12:24You know, I was going to make a Ray Rice joke, but.
- 12:27About Bruce Jones, Drew. Yeah, that's who it was.
- 12:29But I was like, wait, no, that's the wrong guy.
- 12:31He didn't do that. Yeah, I just don't see it
- 12:34happening. I I feel like Trevor Lawrence is
- 12:37a good quarterback, but I think that there are, I think there's
- 12:40better quarterbacks and I just think he's in a bad situation.
- 12:43I think it would take him getting out of there and then a
- 12:46coach and a team set up to kind of be built around Trevor
- 12:50Lawrence to take advantage of what he brings the table to get
- 12:54his potential out. If I may real quick, this is a
- 12:59this is a an individual scout who wrote a scouting report on
- 13:04Trevor Lawrence coming into the 2021 NFL Draft.
- 13:07It reads Florence Blessings prototypical size, a strong
- 13:10right arm and purple caliber accuracy.
- 13:13He has the physical characteristics to step right in
- 13:15the in as a starter NFL starter. His underrating mobility
- 13:20poisoned in the pocket and unchanged ability to decipher
- 13:23defense and caused him to stand apart in comparison to the elite
- 13:26quarterback prospects of recent years.
- 13:28It goes on, but it's more of the same we had.
- 13:32We, as in Football America, had this guy put on a pedestal from
- 13:38day one. I mean, it was is the best
- 13:41prospect since that point, probably Andrew Luck.
- 13:44And we saw how that turned out. This is the best prospect since
- 13:46Peyton Manning. We haven't seen anybody this
- 13:48good in a long time and we just put these guys on such a high
- 13:52pen stool and then get confused as to why they go to the worst
- 13:56possible teams with the worst records and then don't perform
- 14:00well. It's no wonder the Browns have
- 14:02had 17,000,000 quarterbacks in the last 25 years.
- 14:06It's 'cause you, you draft a quarterback and nothing else,
- 14:09you don't get anything. I'm sure this will come up later
- 14:12in this show here when we talk about fantasy football
- 14:15quarterbacks, but you don't have to go first round quarterback
- 14:18talent Jalen Hurts, recent Super Bowl running quarterback with a
- 14:22second or third rounder. 2nd rounder, yeah.
- 14:25You can fight Tyler Shuck second round quarterback, right You can
- 14:30find. Did you just say Tyler Shucks
- 14:32going to be a good quarterback? That was a terrible example.
- 14:37I couldn't get that one out, sorry.
- 14:39I was trying. But you can find, I mean, I
- 14:41mean, going back to Tony Romo undrafted, you get all these
- 14:45guys who have talent. There are other positions that
- 14:50should probably be addressed early on in these teams like
- 14:53offensive line, defensive line, somebody to stop the run and
- 14:56somebody to, you know, stop people from attacking your
- 15:00quarterback. We're just put too much stock
- 15:02into these first first overall quarterbacks and early round
- 15:05quarterbacks and then question why they never pan out.
- 15:09That's fair. I personally am somebody who
- 15:12does put a little bit of stock into the coaching and I think it
- 15:14could potentially make a little bit of a difference.
- 15:17Richard Lawrence this season, because to go back to their
- 15:20offensive coordinator, Grant Udinsky, again, he spent last
- 15:23season with the Vikings. He was the assistant offensive
- 15:27coordinator and the assistant quarterbacks coach and nobody
- 15:30has ever been able to get that out of Sam Darnold before the
- 15:33Vikings did. The Vikings just have a way of
- 15:35doing it with quarterbacks and maybe he can bring that over to
- 15:38the Jaguars and Trevor Lawrence with Liam Cohen.
- 15:41He was only the offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers
- 15:43for one season, but look what he was able to do with Baker
- 15:46Mayfield. And last season, the Bucks were
- 15:50the only offense that finished in the top five in yards per
- 15:53game, passing yards per game, rushing yards per game, and
- 15:57scoring the only offense in the entire league.
- 16:01And it was the only offense in NFL history to complete 70% of
- 16:05their passes while averaging 5 yards per carry.
- 16:08Liam Cohen did an incredible job with the Buccaneers offense.
- 16:11I think he's going to bring some of that over to the Jaguars.
- 16:14I really do. If he can do that with Baker
- 16:16Mayfield and if Grant Udinsky can do what he did as part of
- 16:19that staff with Sam Darnold, I don't see any reason why they
- 16:22can't do it with Trevor Lawrence.
- 16:24I'm not saying he's going to be an All pro quarterback, but I
- 16:27feel like he's going to take a step forward and I feel like
- 16:30he's going to be a different version of Trevor Lawrence that
- 16:32we haven't seen this year. And also, I believe that this
- 16:35year is the best set of weapons that Trevor Lawrence has had in
- 16:39his entire career. He's got Brian Thomas Junior,
- 16:41he's got Travis Hunter. I know Brenton Strange is their
- 16:45tight end this year, but you know, he's kind of an
- 16:47underrated, kind of more unknown guy.
- 16:49But he did play and start in 10 games last season because
- 16:53they're starting tight end was hurt and so he does have a
- 16:55little bit of starting experience.
- 16:57I think he's underrated and I think he's going to do pretty
- 16:59well this year. To me, this is the best set of
- 17:02weapons that Trevor Lawrence has had and to me this is probably
- 17:05going to be the best coaching staff that he's had.
- 17:08Let's not forget they also have young Patrick Herbert, brother
- 17:12of Justin Herbert, on their team.
- 17:14They picked him up in well, I get to say, not after the draft
- 17:19undrafted free agent pool. I would like to make an argument
- 17:23on that point, Joel. I worry that they're going to
- 17:27try to use Travis Hunter too much and to handicap their
- 17:31offense. I'm afraid they're going to try
- 17:33to use him too much on both sides of the ball and he won't
- 17:36be able to perform because you, you can see it.
- 17:39I mean, you, you can watch highlights or blur lights,
- 17:41whatever you want to call him of Travis Hunter at Colorado where
- 17:44he's just taking offensive plays off or he's getting beat deep on
- 17:48defence because he's playing too much.
- 17:51And we've all said that he probably should stick to the
- 17:53corner rather than receiver because that's why they need
- 17:55more help. I'm afraid that he's not going
- 17:58to do that because I do believe it was Jackson Douglas said that
- 18:01sent out those two tweets. We have signed defensive back
- 18:05Travis Hunter and we have signed wide receiver Travis Hunter 2
- 18:09separate tweets of like, oh, we signed.
- 18:11He's going to do both. He's going to be that guy for
- 18:13us. But besides Brian Thomas junior,
- 18:16who had, I mean, last year was his working season and he was
- 18:19good last year, he put up point 1100 yards last season, right,
- 18:22something like that. It was more than.
- 18:24That sure put up quite a bit of yards last year and it was
- 18:26great. He he was a a wonderful fantasy
- 18:29player. But after him and we'll call it
- 18:32Travis Hunter, which is an unknown entity at this point.
- 18:35You don't have a lot if Brian Thomas junior gets a non contact
- 18:38injury torn ACL out for the season that team.
- 18:41Doesn't say that. Look, it can happen anything
- 18:44nice. Hey, it happened to Jalen Hurts
- 18:46or Joe Burrow or I want to either like curse the entire NFL
- 18:51that that's not a fun parlor, but it can happen to anybody
- 18:54anytime, right? Like if you can just you never
- 18:57know and if you are relying on one player and possibly a rookie
- 19:01who's going to be playing on both sides of the ball.
- 19:03We've already seen Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne.
- 19:06They're fine, but then you obviously need more and they
- 19:09don't have a great Titan Breton Strange, he said played a lot
- 19:13last year for to fill an injury wise and he did fine, but he's
- 19:16not he's not something to write home about, right.
- 19:19So I I mean, he's not Kyle Pitts, that's for sure.
- 19:21So he's probably better than that, but I I just worry that
- 19:26we're putting too much stock in too few of players.
- 19:29The, the coaching can can do everything it can what you can
- 19:33want to do. But as they say, it's not about
- 19:35the XS and no's. It's about the jimmies and the
- 19:36Joe's, right? It's about the players doing it
- 19:40and not the not the coaches coaching it.
- 19:42Can't you say that about a lot of teams though?
- 19:44Yes, absolutely. Like if Dallas, if.
- 19:47If CD goes down, yeah, If CD goes down, Dallas is going to
- 19:50win zero games. I mean, I know they have George
- 19:53Pickens and we don't know what he's going to be on the Cowboys
- 19:56yet with that whole dynamic. But I mean, he was the number
- 19:59one in Pittsburgh and but before this year, if CD Glenn was out
- 20:03of the game, there's no other weapons on that team.
- 20:05Right. I mean, you got Jake Ferguson,
- 20:07but he's a good tight end, but. They just signed him to a big
- 20:10deal. They did.
- 20:12They did. I feel like you can make that
- 20:13case for pretty much every team in the league.
- 20:15For a lot of teams, yes, yes, you are right.
- 20:18But we're not talking about the rest of the teams talking about
- 20:21Trevor Lawrence and his play. I think you guys are both right.
- 20:24Yeah, we did it. On all points.
- 20:26Both of us. Oh sweet, we're gonna lay down
- 20:28on that fence with an open mouth.
- 20:33Well, do you guys have anything else to add about Trevor
- 20:36Lawrence going into this season? He gets a big old red flag for
- 20:39me. He has the same red flag that
- 20:41he's had the past couple seasons.
- 20:44Except. I think he can do nominally
- 20:46better, a little bit better. I think it's a red flag seeing a
- 20:50deeper deeper red where as he gets older.
- 20:52Isn't this the last year? Did he recently resigned?
- 20:55Yeah. Well, how much longer is he
- 20:57there? I was hoping he'd try so.
- 21:00No, he's he's signed through 2030.
- 21:06I mean, good for him, shadow Trevor Lawrence.
- 21:08RIP. Yeah, no joke.
- 21:12They have a potential out after 2029.
- 21:16Good for them. Potential out?
- 21:19After five years, $202 million potential out, man.
- 21:25I mean, if I'm Trevor Lawrence, I could not be happier, right?
- 21:28OK, I'm here for another what, 5-6 years and and I'm going to
- 21:33keep making what was that number I just saw seven and a half
- 21:37million dollars every single season on season start date,
- 21:42which is July something early July 7 and a half million
- 21:47dollars just for a signing bonus every single year as team option
- 21:50bonus goes up from 7 to 14 to 21 to 28.
- 21:53I said by $7,000,000 every year. Dude's making fourteen and a
- 21:56half million dollars before he even plays 1 snap this year.
- 22:00Not a bad deal. I don't I see why he signed it.
- 22:03If I'm here I'm just going to sit quietly back and go.
- 22:06You know what, if you don't want to sign it when you play on this
- 22:08team, I still get paid either way.
- 22:10I have one last thing to say about Trevor Lawrence, and it's
- 22:13mostly about the the Jaguars, not Trevor Lawrence.
- 22:16But since Trevor Lawrence has been there, the defenses have
- 22:20been terrible. I know that that's not a Trevor
- 22:24Lawrence thing, but you got to help out the quarterback.
- 22:29It's kind of the same thing with Joe Burrow.
- 22:30Like the defense was just terrible.
- 22:33And when your defense is just terrible, your team's not going
- 22:37to. You're going to lose.
- 22:37Yeah, you're going to lose games, and that gets put on the
- 22:39quarterback. So I think that's part of the
- 22:41problem. Yeah.
- 22:42Trevor Lawrence needs to step it up.
- 22:43He hasn't played the best. But when your defense is
- 22:46terrible and you lose, that falls on you as the did he?
- 22:49Literally play the best. Like didn't he have like the
- 22:52best like QB stats? I mean maybe he didn't pull out
- 22:56some games because the defense made it insurmountable, but like
- 22:59I thought Burrow had like an MVP season.
- 23:03Last year. Yeah, Burrow.
- 23:04Burrow did, yeah. Oh, who did I say?
- 23:06Maybe I said were. You talking about Burrow or
- 23:07Lawrence? I'm.
- 23:08Talking about Burrow, Yeah, Yeah.
- 23:09Yeah, Burrow had fantastic stats, but his defense was just
- 23:13so bad. And you know, because, you know,
- 23:16I think that's that actually might be the one time that
- 23:20people give the quarterback a pass.
- 23:21If you're one time, if you're basically the best quarterback
- 23:24that year and you look at the stats, you're like, Jesus,
- 23:26basically like 4800 yards, 45 touchdowns, 6 picks.
- 23:30Like, OK, yeah, it wasn't your fault.
- 23:33I don't remember any other time where where people weren't
- 23:36blaming the quarterback for the losses and technically they
- 23:40still had a winning season. They finished with a winning
- 23:42record, they just didn't make the playoffs.
- 23:44Too. That's rough.
- 23:45That's where it was rough to be a Bengals fan last year.
- 23:47I'm not one. I'm a Dallas fan.
- 23:49It was equally It's rough. But I had a dream about.
- 23:51It one time and it didn't go well.
- 23:53To watch, to watch my team be that good offensively and that
- 23:59bad defensively, well, actually that's pretty similar to being a
- 24:02Dallas fan. And for being fair.
- 24:08Dallas might have been worse. Honestly, Yeah, because they
- 24:11didn't even have the starting quarterback.
- 24:12It's not like the starting quarterback was in the whole
- 24:15season. Most of the season it was Cooper
- 24:17Rush, so. Dude, they love me some Cooper
- 24:20Rush. I'm sad that he's not in Dallas
- 24:22anymore. That was a player that did not
- 24:24resign. I was legitimately sad for her.
- 24:27But now. We have Joe Milton.
- 24:29Yeah, that I'm pretty happy about.
- 24:30In his literally one game he played well and he's like the
- 24:34best backup in the league now somehow.
- 24:36Dude, that's the that's the Matt Cassel treatment.
- 24:40Yeah, Jimmy Garoppolo. Treatment and the Matt Flynn
- 24:44treatment. Yeah, Matt.
- 24:46I remember that. Yeah, it's a deep cut.
- 24:49Matt Flynn, Seahawks signed him to a big deal and then tracked
- 24:53to Russell Wilson and then started Russell Wilson into Matt
- 24:55Flynn. Third round pick Russell Wilson.
- 24:58See, here we go back to that whole quarterbacks don't have to
- 25:01come out of the first round. I'm going to do an even deeper
- 25:03cut in a different sport. Johnny Flynn.
- 25:06Oh, do you remember that? I do.
- 25:09Timber. Will's Will's like 3 years to
- 25:11work. Big like. 3 or 4.
- 25:14Point guards and there was like they passed on like all the best
- 25:18ones and landed on Johnny Flynn. I think they passed on like
- 25:21Curry loss, I can't even remember, but they passed on
- 25:24some really good guards just to get Johnny Flynn.
- 25:27Will's not a basketball guy, so he's like, I have no idea who.
- 25:30Basketball guys don't know who he is unless they watch that one
- 25:34season that he was in the league.
- 25:38All right, well, you guys ready to talk some some fantasy
- 25:40football? Let's do it.
- 25:42All right, so we've got our lists of our top 10 fantasy
- 25:46quarterbacks this season. And So what we're going to do is
- 25:49we're just going to go around and we'll start at we'll, we'll
- 25:53do 111222 and so on. Will, why don't you get us
- 25:56started? Who is your #1 fantasy
- 25:59quarterback this year? Probably to no surprise, and I
- 26:01hope you boys have a similar guy here, I have Lamar Jackson.
- 26:06I have Joe Burrow. Oh, I have Josh Allen.
- 26:09Oh, and of course it's stat based, so let me tell you why.
- 26:18Thanks. I'm Joel.
- 26:18It's Dappy. Literally you all.
- 26:25Right. So since 2020, Josh Allen has
- 26:28been either first or second in fantasy points by quarterbacks
- 26:32every single year. And the reason I put him first
- 26:35is because last year he was second and Lamar Jackson was
- 26:39first. There has only been two
- 26:42quarterbacks since 2001 that have been number one in fantasy
- 26:46points in back-to-back years. Josh Allen did it in 2020 and
- 26:512021 and Dante Culpepper did it in 22,000 and three and 2004.
- 26:57Back when we were still playing fantasy football with paper and
- 27:00pencils. Backyard football, dude.
- 27:04I don't say it's. Called the Realm game.
- 27:06So to me, that tells me that Josh Allen is going to be the
- 27:10number one quarterback and Lamar Jackson is not going to be the
- 27:13number one quarterback because he was the number one
- 27:15quarterback. Or it could happen for 1/3 time.
- 27:18Or that could happen, but it's there is a statistical
- 27:21possibility that it is likely not going to happen.
- 27:24Can you take your statistical possibilities and shove them up
- 27:27your keister? But yeah, actually it could
- 27:29happen. So that's why I have Josh Allen
- 27:32as #1 and if he's not going to be #1 he should be #2 because
- 27:35he's been one or two every year since 2020.
- 27:38Yep. All right #2 who you got, Will?
- 27:42I'm going to go with Joe Burrow because.
- 27:45I already said him. Yeah, you did.
- 27:48I don't know. If his defense can pull their
- 27:50heads out of their butts, then I just can't leave more room
- 27:55because, well, see. But here's the thing, if their
- 27:57defence pulls their head out of their butts, he's not going to
- 27:59do as much. He's have the new new.
- 28:02Season. So it's kind of a double edged
- 28:04sword there. I don't know, I like reading.
- 28:07Last year they resigned. Both Jamar Chase and T Higgins
- 28:12got the boys hyped in the locker room again.
- 28:14I I they they can't sign any defensive players.
- 28:18They did. They did finally sign Shamar
- 28:19Stewart probably should talk about that.
- 28:23That actually idiot. So the language is.
- 28:28Still in the. Contract, yeah.
- 28:30And they're not, they're not going to sign Trey Henderson and
- 28:33he's hopefully going to sit out. And then they've got one guy who
- 28:37had less Sachs in his entire college career than Trey
- 28:41Hendrickson has in like 1 game in the NFL.
- 28:43So like whatever. So there's that.
- 28:45So anyway, Joe Burrow, I got him second.
- 28:47I got Josh Allen and I'm sure Joel will now statistically tell
- 28:51us why we're all wrong. I have Lamar Jackson and here's
- 28:55why. Because he was number one last
- 28:56year and so he can't be #1 in here statistically.
- 29:02Statistically. I hate you guys.
- 29:04And and who do you have, Joe? I have Lamar Jackson it too.
- 29:15I just OK, I just feel like that Lamar Jackson had such a good
- 29:21season last year that he threw 41 touchdowns and you know, his
- 29:25rushing ability is always going to be there.
- 29:26It will always be there. But I think he's going to take a
- 29:28little bit of a step back in the passing touchdowns and passing
- 29:32yards category. And it's not that you know, he's
- 29:35taking a step back as a quarterback, it's just that his
- 29:37season last year was just incredible and he's still going
- 29:40to be up there. I think he's still going to have
- 29:4230 plus touch passing touchdowns, but you still got
- 29:45Derek Henry in the backfield. That's going to help him a ton.
- 29:47But last time he won MVP and he threw 36 touchdowns in 2019.
- 29:53The next season he had 26 touchdowns, then the season
- 29:55after that 16, then 17, then 24 and then 41 last year.
- 30:00So it's just not he hasn't been consistently throwing 30 + 35
- 30:04plus touchdowns. So that's why I didn't rank him
- 30:06#1 he's still going to be incredible in fantasy because
- 30:10you know, the rushing yards is just, that's what you want in a
- 30:13fantasy quarterback. But I just don't feel like he's
- 30:16going to have as many passing touchdowns as he did last year.
- 30:19And so that's why I didn't rank him 1 and I ranked him 2.
- 30:21It's very reasonable tool. It's very, very reasonable.
- 30:25Thank you, I appreciate you saying something nice about me.
- 30:28And that was. That was statistically sound.
- 30:30I appreciated it. Everything I say is
- 30:33statistically sound. That is.
- 30:35Probably. True and.
- 30:36I can't. It's statistically true for
- 30:38sure. All right #3.
- 30:42I have Josh Allen. Did I say his name?
- 30:46I already said his name. I have Lamar Jackson.
- 30:52You're both wrong. Tell us.
- 30:54About Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, let's.
- 30:58Get it? Great.
- 30:58Avery, who do you have at 3:00? I have Lamar Jackson.
- 31:01OK, I have Joe Burrow. OK.
- 31:04Because see here we are now we have all listed the same 4
- 31:08quarterbacks in the same 4 slots.
- 31:11They may be moving around. Just three.
- 31:14It's just 3-4 quarterbacks we've named.
- 31:19We've named 9 quarterbacks. They all just happen to be the
- 31:21same three people. You're right.
- 31:23And. Technically in the show we've
- 31:24named 4 because we talked about Trevor Lawrence before, so.
- 31:26See. I win.
- 31:29Yeah, we're talking the same 3 quarterbacks in the same in the
- 31:33top three, just in different orders.
- 31:35So it's really is a a pick em truly.
- 31:37It really is. But to go your guys's ranking of
- 31:41Joe Burrow is totally fair. I mean, there's not going to be
- 31:43a whole lot of difference between 1-2 and three, but in
- 31:46the three seasons that Joe Burrow has been fully healthy,
- 31:50he's had a minimum of 4475 passing yards and a minimum of
- 31:5434 touchdown passes. So if he's healthy this year for
- 31:58the whole season, his numbers are going to be incredible
- 32:00regardless of how good or bad that defense is because he's had
- 32:04years where the defense was average, where the defense was
- 32:08terrible, and where the defense was pretty good.
- 32:10And in the season where he was fully healthy, he's been great
- 32:13every single year. The lowest that Joe Burrow has
- 32:15finished is, well, in a healthy season, I should say that he's
- 32:19finished is 8th and that was his second year in the league.
- 32:22And then aside from that, he's been ranked 4th and 3rd.
- 32:27So in 2022 he was fourth. In 2024, he was the 3rd ranked
- 32:31quarterback. So he's going to be, as long as
- 32:34he's healthy, he's going to be right there in the top five
- 32:36easily. All right, Will, who you got it
- 32:38for? I think this is going to get
- 32:39some hate and I'm fine with it. I have Patrick Mahomes, a lot of
- 32:44people have him ranked way lower.
- 32:46He has been. Joel, shout out you
- 32:49statistically declining over the last three years, right?
- 32:5320/22 he threw 2522 or excuse me, 5200 yards, 41 touchdowns,
- 32:5723 He threw for 4100 yards, almost 4200 yards, 27
- 33:01touchdowns. And last year, he drew for 3900
- 33:04yards with 26 touchdowns. He doesn't run the same as
- 33:08anybody. He doesn't run the same amount
- 33:09as the three guys we talked about already.
- 33:11I just think that the competition is getting tighter
- 33:13in the AFC and he they're going to have to play better to be
- 33:17better with the, the Bengals, the the Ravens, the Bills.
- 33:21I mean, we just named three AFC quarterbacks, right?
- 33:25Alan Burrow, Jackson. Now here we are me naming a
- 33:29fourth AFC quarterback and this guy has the most playoff and
- 33:34Super Bowl experience out of all of them.
- 33:36I just think they, they, the competition, the AFC is getting
- 33:39tighter and higher and the, we've talked about the AFC West
- 33:43quite a bit. I think it's not going to be as
- 33:45easy as the AFC West this year. And he's going to have to be
- 33:47better. If they want to win, they're
- 33:49going to have to be better. And so I think he's going to
- 33:51have a good year. I glamour hit #4.
- 33:53Yeah, I mean Patrick Mahomes. The thing is with Patrick
- 33:55Mahomes is he could we have. We've seen him throw 5000 yards
- 33:59with not very good receivers. Yeah.
- 34:02We've we've seen him do it, but we've also seen him be not very
- 34:05good with not very good receivers.
- 34:07And so you could kind of you could get both honestly.
- 34:10Right. I've got Jalen Hurts.
- 34:12I have Jalen Hurts as well at 4:00.
- 34:15I'll I'll let Joel explain my reasoning.
- 34:18He'll do a better job than I will.
- 34:22Tell him, Joel. Tell him why we're right.
- 34:24Since 2021, Jalen Hurts has had at least 600 rushing yards and
- 34:2710 rushing touchdowns every single year.
- 34:30See. Last year he ranked 8th in total
- 34:35points, but he did miss two games.
- 34:37So if you look at his points per game, he was the 5th
- 34:40quarterback. Oh yeah.
- 34:42So yeah, that's exactly what you had written down, right, Avery?
- 34:47That's a word for word, dude. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:51His passing stats weren't as good last year, but I just
- 34:53think, one, because he missed those two games, and two,
- 34:55because it was just so heavy on Saquon Barkley.
- 34:58But his rushing stats are always going to be there, so you can
- 35:01always rely on his rushing stats.
- 35:03At touch, push all. Right.
- 35:05Time now because he was the 5th quarterback last year, I have
- 35:09him as the 5th quarterback this year.
- 35:11Oh, symmetry. That's statistically sound right
- 35:14there. Thank you.
- 35:16No, I actually I really debated whether to put him four or five
- 35:20with him in the homes. Are we talking about hurts?
- 35:22Yeah, Jane Hurts is what I have #5 I think that's simply because
- 35:28of what he showed at the Super Bowl, that team, I mean, he
- 35:31showed to the world. OK, fine, stop Saquin Barkley.
- 35:33See, if we give a hoot, I'll just throw the ball over the
- 35:36place and I'll run the ball over the place and I'll just do it
- 35:38myself. And if the Madden curse does
- 35:40come true, hopefully not. And Saquin Barkley has a down
- 35:44year in one way or another, It's in there and a half.
- 35:46Rely more on Jane Hurts and I think it's going to be
- 35:49beneficial for him, right? Avery, who do you have a 5?
- 35:52I've got Jayden Daniels. What do you have him?
- 35:56I have Jayden down, who's at six.
- 35:59Oh, I'm right this time. Who?
- 36:01Do you have at 5:00? I have Baker Mayfield.
- 36:06OK, OK, But you're a big Baker fan.
- 36:09At that point, Joel, give us the comparison between Baker
- 36:13Mayfield and Jayden Daniels. Why do you put Baker ahead of
- 36:16Jayden? OK, so last year Baker Mayfield
- 36:20finished fourth in points. He threw 4500 passing yards.
- 36:24Fantasy points or NFL scoring points?
- 36:27Fantasy points. OK, thank you.
- 36:28We're talking about fantasy football.
- 36:29Yes. So last year he finished fourth
- 36:32in fantasy points. He threw for over 4500 passing
- 36:35yards. He threw 41 touchdowns.
- 36:37He also added 378 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.
- 36:41So he has a little bit of that rushing ability.
- 36:43It's not, you know, it's not on the same level as Lamar Jackson
- 36:46or Jayden Daniels, but he does have a little bit of that
- 36:49ability to get you some rushing yards.
- 36:51And this offense is just loaded. You've got Mike Evans, Chris
- 36:55Godwin, Emeka Igluka, Tez Johnson, Kate Auten.
- 36:59Your running backs are Bucky Irving and Rashad White, who are
- 37:01both very good runners and receivers.
- 37:04That offense is stacked. I think they're going to be just
- 37:07the same as they were last year, if not better on on the
- 37:10offensive side. And so I think Baker Mayfield's
- 37:12going to get a ton of touchdown passes.
- 37:15I think he's going to add some on the ground as well.
- 37:17And the reason I have him at 5 and Jayden Daniels at six is
- 37:21because I, I know Jane Daniels is going to have his rushing
- 37:25stats. That's always going to be there.
- 37:27But my concern is his passing stats.
- 37:29And it's not because he's not a good passer.
- 37:31It's because Terry Mclaurin is holding out.
- 37:35And so, you know, with this holdout that Terry Mclaurin has,
- 37:39he's not practicing. And who knows what he's actually
- 37:42doing when he's, I mean, he's at the facility now.
- 37:45It's technically a hold in now, but he's not, he's still not
- 37:48practicing. And so the longer that goes on,
- 37:51the less ready Terry Mclaurin is going to be.
- 37:53And we've seen in the past where receivers hold out and then they
- 37:57get in the game in the regular season and they get hurt or
- 37:59they're just not as good for the first four or five, whatever
- 38:03amount of games. And so that worries me because
- 38:06Debo Samuel is going to be your #1 receiver.
- 38:10We all know that how I feel about Debo Samuel.
- 38:12Like I I don't like Debo Samuel as as a #1 receiver.
- 38:16He's not a #1 receiver in my opinion.
- 38:18So without Terry Mclaurin, I worry about Jaden Daniels and
- 38:21his passing stats. His rushing stats, fine, but his
- 38:25passing stats, I don't think they're going to be as good if
- 38:27Terry Mclaurin's not there. I concur.
- 38:30So with that being said, you guys have a six?
- 38:32I have Jaden Daniels, a six. I fear heavily.
- 38:36I'm a sophomore slump. We've seen it time and time and
- 38:39time again. So I was CJ Stroud last year and
- 38:42this whole, as you mentioned, Terry Mclaurin thing, his go to
- 38:45guide, not being there in the offseason does not help him at
- 38:49all. He's got a year under his belt
- 38:51and now people have the film on him.
- 38:53They know his tendencies, they know that they know everything
- 38:55about him. They know what he likes to sleep
- 38:58in everything. And so it's not going to be as
- 39:01easy, especially when you don't have your number one guy.
- 39:03So I've got him in #6. I've got Mayfield.
- 39:06So we weren't that far off. No, no.
- 39:09I. Feel like it was just changing
- 39:10his list to be right. I was already wrong.
- 39:18All right, who's your guys's 7th ranked fantasy quarterback?
- 39:21This year, Boseph Nicks. We got one.
- 39:32We did it, yes. Does anybody have any specific
- 39:37reasoning as to why that is? He's my.
- 39:39Favorite player? Get out of here.
- 39:42Dudes good, team's good good. He plays in the Mile High.
- 39:49If people are willing to pay 1,000,000 of dollars to throw a
- 39:51ball, he probably knows how to throw the ball.
- 39:54That's why I haven't sent it. All right, Well, yeah.
- 39:56Will you miss this? When we went on on the hop with
- 40:00Thomas Terry, but we talked about this.
- 40:02Avery and I both had the Denver Broncos as our fifth ranked team
- 40:06in in our power rankings, in our top five power rankings.
- 40:09We both did. And no, we did not plan that.
- 40:12It just was. It just happened by surprise.
- 40:15But the reason that I put the Denver Broncos at #5 is because
- 40:20of their offensive line. And because they're returning
- 40:23all 5 starters from last year, last year they ranked 1st in
- 40:26both pass block and run block win rate.
- 40:29And they gave up the third least amount of sacks with 24.
- 40:32Which is one of the biggest reasons why Bo Nicks had such a
- 40:35great year as a rookie. And I know his weapons aren't
- 40:38great. You know, people, you know,
- 40:40that's the the thing that they say that's, you know, not the
- 40:43best about this offense, but it doesn't matter as much when
- 40:46their offensive line is so good. So even though he doesn't have
- 40:49the best weapons, he has one of the best offensive lines.
- 40:52And that's why I think he's going to have another really
- 40:55good season and he's not going to have a sophomore slump
- 40:57because that offensive line is very good.
- 40:59They also signed Evan Ingram as their tight end.
- 41:03And last year, their top tight end had 188 receiving yards the
- 41:10whole season. So you add Evan Ingram into that
- 41:13offense, you're getting a big upgrade at tight end for Bonex
- 41:16because he got pretty much nothing from his tight ends last
- 41:18year. So that's only going to help
- 41:20him. So that's why I happened at
- 41:217:00. And they still have.
- 41:23Not that they're necessarily working, but I don't see why
- 41:25they wouldn't be. They still have Amari Cooper
- 41:27still available working in Allen's still available, but
- 41:29there's some decent names here who aren't going to come in and
- 41:33be absolutely All Stars but can definitely get you 1000 yards, 8
- 41:38touchdowns. So they they've got options if
- 41:41they need them. All right, who's your 8th ranked
- 41:43fantasy quarterback? Sorry guys, this is where I have
- 41:47Baker Mayfield. I have Jared Goff.
- 41:49I have Jared Goff too. No way.
- 41:53Yeah. Sorry, will you suck?
- 41:55Yeah, get wrecked, Will Little. Baby, why do you have Baker
- 42:00Mayfield that hey Will? Because I should have ranked him
- 42:04higher but I forgot he existed and then I ranked him there.
- 42:06I remember this game. Fair enough.
- 42:09You're. Going to be a contrarian here to
- 42:12try to be different. Break the mold.
- 42:15No I don't know. There is every reason he should
- 42:18be ranked higher. I just don't think of him the
- 42:22same way. He's never my, he's never in my
- 42:25top five thought about quarterbacks.
- 42:29He's never a guy that I'm like, oh, you know who I can't wait to
- 42:31see play? Or if the Buccaneers were coming
- 42:34to town. If I had a football team near
- 42:35me, I wouldn't be like, Oh yeah, I should have watched Baker
- 42:38Mayfield play. He's not a guy that I think of
- 42:41regularly, which is not fair to him.
- 42:43He's he's great. He's he's a good energy.
- 42:46He's great on the field, he's fun to watch play and he throws
- 42:50the ball very well. I just often forget about him,
- 42:53which is why I have him ranked in number.
- 42:55Eight, I'm actually, I'm actually with Will here.
- 42:58I'll be honest, I I haven't heard really anything.
- 43:01Granted, I've been kind of unplugged from it.
- 43:02I haven't heard anything about him at Tampa Bay.
- 43:05I'll the last thing I really remember is all the drama in
- 43:09Cleveland, and then when I saw that he's in Tampa and actually
- 43:12doing well, it was surprising to me.
- 43:16I just, I hear about him all the time because he's my third
- 43:19favorite player. So what were you saying too?
- 43:23Isn't he? Wasn't he recently in an
- 43:25interview where they asked him? With the Kelsey's.
- 43:30Yeah, with the Browns, you do a quarterback, he said.
- 43:31It's not my problem anymore. Yep, I actually just watched
- 43:34that video today. What?
- 43:36Is this give me a run? He he was on the New Hyde
- 43:38podcast and the Kelsey brothers asked what the Browns do with
- 43:41the quarterback situation, and he said something along the
- 43:43lines of, oh, it's not my problem anymore.
- 43:45Yeah, it sounds like a man who's just glad to be out of there.
- 43:48OK. Who do you guys have with your
- 43:49as your 9th ranked quarterback in fantasy this year?
- 43:52I'm going to continue to get hate.
- 43:53I have Justin Herbert. I don't hate that.
- 43:57I don't hate it. I don't have him at 9:00, but I
- 43:59don't hate it. Who do you have?
- 44:00Avery I. Have Kyler Murray.
- 44:03I have Kyler Kyler Murray too. Listen.
- 44:05Listen. Here.
- 44:06Listen, listen, listen. I'm right over you will.
- 44:10Jewel. Says listen, listen.
- 44:11Listen better. Listen, listen, listen.
- 44:14He's the same as a trusted source, OK?
- 44:18Listen, Kyler Murray. He's going to be a disappoint.
- 44:22He's going to be a disappointment.
- 44:23He's a disappointment every year.
- 44:25He's the Kyle Pitts of quarterbacks.
- 44:28You expect him to do well and then he just does OK.
- 44:33I have them on my list here, but I will say this, I will say
- 44:36this. I think Kyler Murray and Justin
- 44:39Herbert are in the same boat, I think.
- 44:42Both of. Them massive potential and will
- 44:45severely underperform, just as Justin Herbert did from.
- 44:49The last year. Yeah, I just don't have Herbert
- 44:52in my top ten because I just think that offense is just going
- 44:56to be so run heavy that he's not going to put up like big, big
- 44:59numbers. Not that he's not going to be
- 45:01good, but I just don't have in my top ten just because of that.
- 45:05But Kyler Murray I have in my top ten because of his rushing
- 45:08stats. I mean, when he's healthy, he's
- 45:10going to have rushing stats. So he runs like a trial with a
- 45:13full diaper. He does, but it doesn't mean
- 45:16anything for fantasy. Yeah, so stinky he gets away
- 45:19from it for. You I also think that Marvin
- 45:22Harrison junior is going to take a big step forward this year and
- 45:24Kyler Murray is somehow going to learn how to see over his
- 45:27offensive line and I was. Going to say, I'm sure Nike is
- 45:30developing platform cleats for him.
- 45:33Do you have any extra 4 inches of height?
- 45:36That might cut down on the rushing stats a little bit
- 45:38though. Yeah, maybe.
- 45:40All right. Who do you guys have at 10?
- 45:42I hate my #10 pick. Can you guess?
- 45:48I hate it. Is it it's bra?
- 45:50No, of course not, Gene. It's.
- 45:54Dakota Rain Prescott. Oh, OK.
- 45:59Look, he has not bad. He has all of the potential in
- 46:04the world to do well. He's got George Pickens, he's
- 46:07got CD. They have that Prescott.
- 46:11He has the potential to do it. They just won't do it right.
- 46:16They just, I expect five wins out of this team.
- 46:19This is going to be a real a real Bronco or not Broncos,
- 46:23Bengals of last year with a worse offense.
- 46:26I expect 38, maybe 4000 yards out of Jack Prescott.
- 46:31Oh, 25 to 30 touchdowns, 25 to 30 interceptions.
- 46:38And it's just going to be sad. It's going to end up as a sad
- 46:40season. I love the confidence in your
- 46:43quarterback, Will. Well, no one else.
- 46:46That's my boy. Throw the forms up.
- 46:50One thing you can count on Dak Prescott, he'll always find a
- 46:52way to get you less points than you're expecting because he will
- 46:55throw an interception at some point during the last part of
- 46:58the game. He will.
- 46:59Yes, he will. So if you're winning by two,
- 47:03don't expect to be winning by two at the end of the game if
- 47:05you have Dak Prescott. Truth.
- 47:08Take him out if you can. Sit him mid game, sit him.
- 47:13Avery, who do you have at 10? I was going to go with Aaron
- 47:18Rodgers and then the boring adult Avery made the executive
- 47:25decision to go with Patrick Mahomes.
- 47:28I don't like you hadn't said his name.
- 47:30What he hasn't? You didn't realize I knew how to
- 47:34say his name? No, I didn't realize you.
- 47:35Hadn't you? Had not yet said his.
- 47:37Name. Yeah.
- 47:38But I think just because I just feel like something's going to
- 47:43happen to Aaron Rodgers and I don't think he's like as if I
- 47:47was drafting and there was Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.
- 47:51I'd probably pick Patrick Mahomes if it came down to those
- 47:54two guys. But I think that there is the
- 47:56potential. So I don't know.
- 48:00I'm going to go Aaron Rodgers, Patrick, you can get that Aaron
- 48:06Rodgers a a Ron. We'll.
- 48:08Switch around him and DK Metcalf and have A and Johnny going to
- 48:12have a nice season. All right.
- 48:14I think my my 10th ranked quarterback, I don't think
- 48:18people are going to like very much.
- 48:20Ed Oh, is it going? To be oh, is it going to be
- 48:24pretty? No, it's not pretty.
- 48:26Wait, Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 48:28Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. It is.
- 48:30I think it is. There's Tua.
- 48:33No. No, it's going to be.
- 48:37It's going to be. Oh.
- 48:39Shoot. I.
- 48:41Know it's in the NFC North. Yep.
- 48:45Justin Fields No. Wait.
- 48:48What? Wrong guy, Wrong guy, wrong guy.
- 48:50Wait. Wait, it's between 2:00?
- 48:53I know it's. Between 2:00 I.
- 48:55Know it's between. I know it's between Jordan and
- 48:59Caleb Williams. It's one of those two.
- 49:01Guaranteed. I meant.
- 49:03To say Caleb Williams. What's your final answer?
- 49:06What's your final answer? Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 49:08Here you go, Jordan Love. I'll go.
- 49:10Caleb Williams. So one of us is right.
- 49:11OK. Well, I think it's Caleb
- 49:12Williams, so OK. Jordan Love, it's Caleb
- 49:15Williams. Ah, you're right.
- 49:19You have two answers, but I'm like I already know which one I
- 49:21don't. Know yeah, I have Caleb Williams
- 49:25as my 10th ranked quarterback and that might be a little bit
- 49:27controversial, but the reason I haven't met 10.
- 49:30Just. A little dubbers.
- 49:33Just a little bit. The reason I have him at 10 is
- 49:36because he was seventh among quarterbacks in rushing yards
- 49:38last season. But.
- 49:39He was the only. Quarterback who rushed for more
- 49:42than 250 yards, who didn't have a rushing touchdown.
- 49:45I feel like that has to change. Like if you have almost 500
- 49:49yards rushing and you don't have a rushing touchdown, that's kind
- 49:53of like an anomaly. I feel like.
- 49:55I feel like he's going to improve in that area with his
- 49:59rushing yards. The rushing yards are great.
- 50:01I'll take 500 rushing yards from the fantasy quarterback any
- 50:03season, but I just feel like after not having any rushing
- 50:07touchdowns last year, he's going to add some rushing touchdowns
- 50:10this year and improve his game in that area a little bit.
- 50:13I also feel like with Ben Johnson, he's doing everything
- 50:15he can to recreate that offense he had with the Lions.
- 50:19And so you can see it with the moves he's made.
- 50:20The offensive line is supposed to be better.
- 50:23They're, you know, they're wide receiver room.
- 50:25They've made some moves to improve at wide receiver and
- 50:27tight end. I just feel like that Ben
- 50:30Johnson is going to help Caleb Williams to be a better
- 50:33quarterback than he was last year.
- 50:35And I feel like his stats are going to improve both as a
- 50:38passer and as a runner. He's going to have rushing
- 50:40touchdowns and I think he's going to throw for over 4000
- 50:43yards. The touchdowns, I haven't really
- 50:45decided how many touchdowns I think he's going to throw.
- 50:48I mean, I could, I would say 25 as kind of like just to be safe,
- 50:52maybe he could get above 30 by 25 just to be safe.
- 50:55But I think he's just going to improve all around as a player
- 50:58and that's why I put him at 10. He had out of the quarterbacks
- 51:02who played 17 games last season, he had the second lowest fantasy
- 51:07points. But that's a very small number
- 51:10of quarterbacks that played all 17 days.
- 51:12Yeah, if you look at the the points per game, it comes up
- 51:16with players who had like one game and Jill Milton and stuff
- 51:19around there. They're ranked in like the top
- 51:2210 or something like that, but they only played one game, so it
- 51:24doesn't count. All right, well, that's our top
- 51:2610. So to end here, let's just give
- 51:29one sleeper quarterback that. We all have one.
- 51:34Just one. OK, who's going first?
- 51:38Me. Thank you.
- 51:39All right, I've got. Hey, Rick.
- 51:43I know mine. I have Tua.
- 51:47I can't possibly sit on this show and say he's going to be
- 51:50the next ringless quarterback to win the Super Bowl and not then
- 51:55pick him progressively throughout the season.
- 51:58They have, they have all the pieces.
- 52:01They just have to have a healthy Tua.
- 52:03And when Tua is healthy, there's no one, but not no one.
- 52:05There's almost no one better. I mean, if he can, if he can be
- 52:09healthy for all 17 games, sign him up, right?
- 52:12When he's in, he's on. He's worth, he's worth a late
- 52:16round fantasy pick to put him on your bench because you don't
- 52:19know if he can be playing or not.
- 52:21I would say draft a much safer pick as well.
- 52:23But I love to. I love the way he doesn't fancy.
- 52:26I love the number he puts up when he's in.
- 52:29He's just not consistently in. You know, between Tua and Jalen
- 52:33Hurts, I know who Nick Saban would pick.
- 52:44All right, I got my plate, I got my player.
- 52:47It's a player that none of y'all like and none of y'all believe
- 52:50in. Will Howard, I mean.
- 52:59Who would lose it? No.
- 53:00I hate that. But Aaron Rodgers is your #10?
- 53:08Somehow they'll make it. They'll make it work somehow.
- 53:11Yeah, have that safety pick. I am really excited for Russell
- 53:18Wilson to get hurt so Jackson Dart can come in and show us
- 53:23what's what. I like that worker out there.
- 53:27Yeah, for Aaron Rodgers to Will Howard, then Russell Wilson to
- 53:30Jackson Dart. I like it.
- 53:32I just hit all the names I wanted to OK.
- 53:34What do you think Jackson Dart's going to come in and start?
- 53:37Depends on if we got like a Tonya Harding situation or we
- 53:40just have to let things just play out naturally.
- 53:43Probably like week 3. OK.
- 53:46My sleeper quarterback is actually going to be a
- 53:48quarterback we already talked about it is.
- 53:51Trevor Lawrence, we spent the first half of the show taking a
- 53:54shit on that guy. Now you're here bursting them
- 53:59back. Yo, no.
- 54:00So let me wipe that out for you. I'm so sorry.
- 54:04Hey, I was the one who was saying that he's going to have a
- 54:08better season because of his coaching staff.
- 54:10Oh, you're right, you're right. That was just me talking bad
- 54:12about him. Oh yeah, I'll take the blame
- 54:14here. Yes, I just think he's going to
- 54:16be better because I think his coaches are going to help him.
- 54:18I think this is the best set of receivers and weapons that he's
- 54:21had since he's been in the league.
- 54:23And so I think he's I don't think he's obviously I don't
- 54:26have him in my top 10, but I think he's a a sleeper
- 54:28quarterback. I think he's going to have a
- 54:30nice season. And so if you're looking for you
- 54:33could maybe stardom, I think if you're looking definitely as a
- 54:36backup quarterback, if you're looking for a solid backup
- 54:38fantasy quarterback, I think he'd go Trevor Lawrence because
- 54:41I think he's going to improve and be better than he's been in
- 54:44seasons past. Oh guys, you said the thing and
- 54:48and I have to tell you some fantasy wise because we're about
- 54:50to be in the same right to Co run a fantasy team together.
- 54:54I don't believe in backup quarterbacks in my fantasy
- 54:57roster. Just pick him up when you need
- 54:59him. I think it's a waste of a roster
- 55:00spot. I mean if you get with.
- 55:02Your very last pick. Stop giving away our strategy
- 55:04will. I won't.
- 55:06Because every other team is is is looking for little tidbits of
- 55:10information to get an edge on us because we're so threatening.
- 55:13You're right. Trevor will be fine enough this
- 55:16year. He will be the guy that I will
- 55:18pick up on anybody's bye week. Oh, Trevor's still here.
- 55:21I'll take him. Yeah.
- 55:24All right. All right, well, that's going to
- 55:27wrap it up for our top 10 fantasy quarterbacks for this
- 55:31season. The next week we're going to be
- 55:33talking about the running backs and wide receivers.
- 55:36So we're going to have top ten lists for both the running backs
- 55:39and wide receivers next week. So stay tuned for that.
- 55:41And as always, don't forget to keep your balls played with.
- 55:44We'll see you next time. Bye.
- 55:47Also Mark Davidson. Sarah Kyle still sucks.
