[singging] Good. [singing] Good. [singing] [laughs] Good full spectrum cycling podcast to all you fine people. And to you as well. Mm. Show number 18 already. Wow. Wow. And we haven't changed our theme song yet.
• 0:30
[laughs] Oh, we can vote. Mm-hmm. We can vote. We can vote. [laughs] I vote we keep this theme song. [laughs] Yeah. No, I, I think it's good. Why not? Yeah. You know, getting my money's worth out of it. There you go.
• 0:41
Being that it was free. It's free, yeah. Free is good. Man, oh, man. Lotta cycling activity in those three days of sunshine. Oh, hell yeah. This week- Two and a half days... well, even when it wasn't, [laughs]
• 0:56
there was still cycling. Yeah. This is true. So no special guest this week, so these listeners are just gonna have to suck it up and hear what we got to say. [laughs] What kind of beer are we drinking tonight?
• 1:10
Let's cut right to the chase. All Day IPA. All right. From- Bottom of the hill... from Founders. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Mm-hmm. All right. Clink. Yeah. Cheers.
• 1:18
Sandwich in every- Why does this feel so light already? Sandwich in every can, we're gonna make it to the top. And even though there's no special guest on this particular week- You are the special guest...
• 1:28
you could be the special guest if you [laughs] called in at- 717- 727- 727- 2453... that spells bike. Uh, I think next show, two weeks from this one, we're gonna have Vince on from Chumba USA. Right on. Nice.
• 1:44
I tried to wrangle him at the last minute tonight, but he had a, a family gathering, but said he'd love to be on the show and talk Chumba bicycles, so- Oh... look forward to that down the road.
• 1:53
It's a pretty fantastic bicycle, that's for sure. I got one of their new Senduras on order. It's in the queue. It's a 27 plus down country bike. Down, is that like down-home? What is down country? Down low.
• 2:07
It's like cross-country that can go downhill, or downhill that can still go cross-country. Low country boil. To me, it's a bike I can ride and eat an ear of corn at the same time.
• 2:14
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, low country boil. Yeah, yeah. [laughs] You got your sausage, you got your crawfish. Yeah, your jumb- jumbalaya. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Jumbalaya, right. Mm-hmm. Sorry.
• 2:24
I wasn't able to eat before I came here. Oh. I only was able to construct the things that were someone else is gonna damn eat. Oh. [laughs] So- Do you like, would you like a protein bar? No, all is well.
• 2:35
There's a sandwich in every can. Yeah, copy that. Uh, uh- Bradley- How about some riding this weekend? We had an awful lot of riding. Oh, since we last spoke with fair listener- We did a lot of riding...
• 2:45
there's been a lot going down. That's right. There was the, uh, the rollout down in Bay View. Yeah, that was a, a decent event. Yeah, yeah. Kind of a- It's always a fun scavenger alley cat. Right.
• 2:56
Yeah, a little different setup than previous years, where you kind of made your own ride sort of an idea. Right, right. It, yeah, it, it goes that way with, apart from the mandatory, and one mandatory was
• 3:08
way the hell out there. Yeah, that was a bit of a cruise. And actually, it essentially not in Bay View, somebody, uh, the guy from, uh- Yeah, Saint Francis... Social- Tiffiny Canoe? Yep. Oh. Yeah, yeah.
• 3:18
It was Tiffany Canoe. Tiffany Canoe. Yeah, yeah. And Tyler too. [laughs] Yeah. That's, this is, 'cause I, I doubt that- Dude's from South Shore or Cyclery. He's going like, "Well, it wasn't in there."
• 3:24
I doubt that Jake Lee weren't listening to this podcast, but I always love commenting on his posts about him living in Bay View because he lives in Tiffany Canoe. Ta-da. Ba-dun-dun. [laughs] Well, he was there. But yeah.
• 3:34
He was on the rollout. Right. Yeah. At the stop, we believe. And so we seen him out there to the Montessori school. Yeah. So- At, in Tiffany Canoe. This is- Ta-da. It all comes- We haven't talked since we actually even
• 3:47
were at the, uh, the Wake- Mm-hmm... bike swap. Oh, yeah. It's been a while. Wow, we've done a lot of- And, and Gold Springs... and Gold Springs.
• 3:56
That was a, that was an interesting night of cycling related stuff, not just the swap meet, but- Yeah... there was a lot going on there. Don't forget puppies. Yeah, I was unable to attend that one. Yeah?
• 4:08
It was on the radar, but the body [laughs] was not willing. Not willing. [laughs] Well, the weather was not very cooperative for cycling, that's for sure. Right, right. It cleared up and got okay later- Yeah...
• 4:17
but it was- Yeah, I finished off with the, uh, the pre-ride with the Fat Tire Tour. That was fun. And got them kind of- We also did that... uh, in, in, and, and, en route to where they were parked. Ah.
• 4:31
And I, I would, I didn't wanna go back down into the bowl and up- No... and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And there was a storm coming within, like, 20 minutes. Yeah.
• 4:38
I'm like, "I'll stay on the top shelf, thank you very much." [laughs] Yes. That is coming up this Saturday. It is. Yeah. Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee, number 35. Mil- Mil- Milwaukie, Mil- The- Wizard of Oz-waukie...
• 4:50
Wizard of Oz themed- The-... bike party on wheels. I thought I noticed they may have had 500 people registered already. Yeah, I think that's their- That's a holy smokes... target. It's another target.
• 5:01
That's a holy smokes. I got a- Plus or minus... I got a box of, of stuff for, uh, prizes and whatnot over there, right there. Oh, nice. Nice. Let's see that box. Oh, yeah, look at that. There's stuff in there.
• 5:13
Jason's gonna pick it up tomorrow. And later that night. So that makes us a sponsor of the Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee, folks. I did see that on the site. I saw- Oh, yeah, he's pretty-... that said logo...
• 5:21
pretty quick with that. Nice. Nice of him to do that for us, and, uh, you know, gotta get our name out there. People need to know we're here. Everyday Cycles, folks, Riverwest Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 8- Ville...
• 5:31
826 East Locust. Across from the Wu Tang Park. That's right. Actually had a few people in through, even though it was crappy out today, there's some people showed up and talked bicycle stuff.
• 5:41
My buddy's in from Charlotte. I tried to wrangle him into the show tonight. [laughs] Grew up with him, and, uh, he's been living out there for 20 years or so, and raves about the mountain biking in and around, so.
• 5:55
There was a North American hand-built bike show was there a few years back, and I used that as an excuse to visit Tom. And, uh, did not get a lot of, uh, mountain biking and some urban riding, but not-
• 6:08
Nothing outside the city. Huh. But, uh, yeah, so weekend number one. Weekend number two, kinda- Well, there- Kinda [laughs] I mean, there was a, a, I, I'm, I, it, yeah. Ta-da. Whoa.
• 6:22
You get all- This is what happened in between last show and now Look at JK with a whole list of events for Dave He actually printed it out on a printer thingy. Yeah. Yeah.
• 6:31
I mean, last weekend- Hard day at the office, you see [laughs] Well, this past weekend everybody went in a different, uh, direction. Mm-hmm. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Um, James ended up heading way up north
• 6:46
looking for us, and then we ended up [laughs] going to Crusher Fest to the south. Which was fantastic. Yeah. Yeah, I think we should have a photo of Da Crusher. Yes, we do need a photo of Da Crusher.
• 6:56
[laughs] And I floated out west to my, uh, aunt's 91st birthday. Oh. Happy birthday, Aunt Bertie. Happy birthday, Auntie Nutbar, to you [laughs] So it was 20, yeah, exactly, 20, 20 miles door to door on that one. Nice.
• 7:10
That's a good ride. And yeah. And it was part of, part of the hank, 'cause I've never gone past the, uh, uh, state fair. Huh? Very cool. Uh, like s- like 76. Mm-hmm. Pull off. Mm-hmm. And I'm like, "Oh, hey."
• 7:21
And just keep going and going, so it was, like, a little exploration. And then hit New Berlin. It was relaxing and groovy until I spit out onto Moreland. Oh. And for whatever reason I thought Moreland had a sidewalk.
• 7:35
A bike... Oh, no. Or just a sidewalk. Or- You know, just the da, da, da, da, da. Yeah, it's kind of a shoulder. It's a big shoulder. Yeah. Yeah, but, uh, eh, they're cooking by it, like, 60. Yeah.
• 7:44
And it's, it's- Yeah, that's a little- It's unsettling. You know- I mean, it was only a few blocks, but man. I mean, it was, uh, da, dun, huh. [laughs] 10 minutes of frantic.
• 7:52
When I was, uh, young and lived out in Big Ben way- Mm... they always told us to ride against the traffic so you could- Yeah... see them coming. When I was a kid- That, that-... that was a thing, too...
• 7:59
that doesn't fly any, anymore, but- No, no, it... You know- I understand the argument. I just- Uh, me too... don't agree with it 'Cause you, then you can get out of the way of the car. Yeah.
• 8:07
You know, like- When it's coming right at you... right. I don't know that that 15 miles an hour of going with the traffic is really saving you very much. [laughs] No.
• 8:15
It's the 15 miles an hour heading into the car coming at you, you can at least dive in the ditch. Yep. I agree. We should maybe question why that actually happened in the first place.
• 8:25
[sighs] What law changed that told them to ride on the same side of the street as traffic? Someone come up with that. Yeah. Probably through a study or something. Yeah, just like helmets and stuff. It's all studies.
• 8:37
We'd call Dave, but he retired. Retired. In between the [laughs] Oh, that's what I thought. In between that and October, he's retired. A real scares retirement. [laughs] Yeah.
• 8:45
He, he, yes, after being on our show, he'd had enough. Yeah. [laughs] That's enough of that, folks. I'm clapping out. [laughs] I've done my time- [laughs]... and those guys just ruined me for life. Yeah.
• 8:56
That said, we're building a fancy wheel for him. He's doing a- Straight up... shutter precision dyno hub with a new rim and whatever. He's doing a tour coming up on the 24th. Wanted to- Is he putting velocity rims on?
• 9:08
Putting, uh... gonna do Stans. Stan, that's- Stans Arch... oh, that's right. I heard you say that. Yeah. Stans Arch Mark Three or whatever their latest fancy tubeless- Is that gonna go on his Ellis, or what's that?
• 9:18
It's a 29er. Is his Ellis a 29er? Uh, no. Which his Ellis is a- I think his Ellis is not gonna be a 29er I don't think that's done yet. No. Well, he's, that'll be done in two years. He's in the conversation phase. Yeah.
• 9:29
There you go. So three years. Hey, Dave. Uh. Oh, okay, Dave. Oh, Dave. Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave, Dave. What do you think about this? Dave Ellis. Dave. Or Dave Wages from Ellis, and Dave Sh- Dave Schlabowski.
• 9:40
Man, lots of Daven going on there. Yeah. Dave's not- You think they're gonna watch- But Dave's not here, man... I was gonna say, you think they're gonna watch Space Odyssey as they build it and talk about Dave? Anyway.
• 9:50
Dave's not here, man. [laughs] But yes, the, the Crusher, the Crusher ride was fun, too, because on the way back we managed to go to Transfer Pizza and have some mighty fine pizza. Oh, yeah.
• 9:59
It's been a while since I've been there. It was delicious. And the beer, Carbon 4 on tap, is always... Fantasy Factory is always a tasty tap beer. Had one more Fantasy Factory than required. Yeah.
• 10:09
[laughs] That was not necessary, but we made it home safe. That is a good beer. And then had to get up really, really early, set up for Locust Street Days. Locust Street Festival, excuse me. They changed the name.
• 10:22
Oh, yeah. Well, D-A-Z- It used to be D-A-Z-E. This year it was just Festival. Yeah, I think it's been Festival on the sign, the banner, for a while. Mm-hmm. I think they wanted to cut down on the drug use. Yeah.
• 10:34
Good luck with- They cer- Good luck with that... they certainly didn't cut down on the beer use. No, no. 'Cause, ooh, there were some staggering people towards the end of that evening. Oh, yeah, yeah. Yep.
• 10:43
Well, we had our tent set up right in front of the shop. Gave some people a tour of the inside while keeping the, uh, the toddlers at bay. [laughs] Not toddlers, totallers. What, uh, what are those things? T-totallers.
• 10:54
T-totallers. Those guys, those, whatever they were. Um, it went pretty well. I think we- I agree... we met a lot of people. We met a lot of people. We answered a lot of the, the ques- same question many times, like,
• 11:06
"Well, I didn't know there was a bike shop here." Yeah, right. "When, when did you open?" It's not a bike shop. It's an illusion. It's an emporium. [laughs] Boutique emporium.
• 11:13
Well, it's, it's on its way to becoming a bike shop with no bicycles in it, which is my vision. We're getting there. Yeah. Just bike frames. Clean these bikes right the heck out of here, folks. Yeah. It's holograms.
• 11:23
We'll give you a deal. Come on in. Yeah. And then we'll build custom bikes for you. And test ride the CR1. I'm gonna keep saying that every week until that damn CR1 is sold or I buy it,
• 11:32
'cause it's a [laughs] really nice bike. I was talking GR1 today. That is an... I- Roll, Roll GR1. They're out of 650B wheels for a, a little short period of time, so- D'oh...
• 11:43
gave me a reprieve on having to throw my hard-earned down for that one. Okay. I do want one in here, though. I think that would be- I, I think that's a very... Well, I like the CR1, how am I not gonna like the GR1?
• 11:56
'Cause it goes grr. Grr1. Oh, man. It's like my brain just did... [laughs] So I know we can't talk about where the Fat Tire Tour goes- Mm... or we would get yelled at.
• 12:06
But it starts- You can come out Saturday and find out... but I can tell you where it starts. It starts.
• 12:11
At- Best Place in the Pabst Brewery Complex On Juneau Street, Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin A wonderful, wonderful place. If you've not visited there, you're gonna kick yourself for not going sooner Yeah, it's a gem.
• 12:24
Just- Yeah It's a stunningly beautiful bar. I mean, it, it is a piece of Milwaukee history 1846 or somewhere back in the olden days It's...
• 12:33
When people seriously took pride in their work, 'cause that, that building is a work of art Yeah, that starts pretty early. I mean, well, the registration and- 8:30?
• 12:42
Well, like, man Not getting up at 8:30 I'm not getting there at 8:30 Well, I mean, they are, but I'm not, but [laughs] They are [laughs] Well- And registration and re- the, the- Is it just gonna roll out at, what, 10:30?
• 12:54
Well, they're doing... 10:15. 10:15. Or, yeah, somewhere in there. Or 10:30. Yeah. I can, I c- I can-- I think we can divulge that it's going north, right? Well, I think you just did. Eventually. Oops.
• 13:04
I think you just did. Yeah. Well, eventually. It's going no- it's eventually going north Well, I think it actually- As well-... technically goes in all four directions Yeah. Well, right.
• 13:12
There are some new stops we haven't stopped at before. Yes. Should be a good, good turnout. Oh, yeah, for sure. Hey, you can still make it. Come tomorrow. Exactly. Yes. And then later that night, Tour de Farce.
• 13:23
Oh, that's gonna be a rough one to do both of those. Yeah, I know. Yeah. That's a, yeah, that's gonna be a... I don't know. I'm gonna do my due diligence, 'cause- That's hard... that's a fun ride. That's a fun ride.
• 13:34
Billy puts on a damn good- It's another Bay View-... fun... centric thing. Yeah. Th- and that one is, uh, I don't know if he does a pre-ride [laughs]
• 13:45
because [laughs] as soon as you're on the ride, you know where the next stop is when you get there. You just gotta follow the caterpillar and- Oh, that's how I got hosed la- it was Tour de Farce I got hosed on last year.
• 13:55
[laughs] Not, not the rollout, 'cause I, I caught up with the group after g- getting down there late- Oh, yeah, and then you flatted... and then I flatted Or, or no, that was Biketoberfest Was it?
• 14:03
Oh, it was still a, a, one of those where- Yeah, yeah, yeah... you don't know where you're going till the stop- Yeah... next stop, and I kept trying to catch up and- [laughs] "No, we're over here now," and like...
• 14:11
And then I, I was get, uh, I don't know the south side at all, so I was like- No. Oh, yeah, yeah... "Oh, it's over there. Wait, it's, no, it's back there five miles." [laughs] I'm like, "Up." Yeah, exactly.
• 14:20
Oh, look, a bar. Good night. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, The Bubbler. Yeah, for sure. Which- Well, and, uh, the other- That's a fun bar... uh, 10th annual Underwear Ride also. Is Saturday night, too. Same, same night.
• 14:31
That's right. 10th anniversary? Yep. Mm-hmm. 10 year anniversary. Huh. I saw Steven walking around at Locust- I did see that... Festival Daze. He was busting it at, uh, Public House.
• 14:42
He doesn't even live here anymore, does he? Yeah, he does. Oh, he's back. He manages, um- Oh, he's back... Company. He's back. He's back. He left and now he's back. Yes. He escaped and now he's returned.
• 14:51
He's ac- he's actually left, come back, left, come back, and he's back again. I think both of those night rides are probably gonna- They'll converge... converge. They did a couple years ago where they converged. Ooh.
• 15:01
And it's- That's r- I was on that one. I remember that... that's, yeah, yeah. That's, uh [imitates explosion] Yep. [laughs] And fun. So if you, if you don't wanna take your underwear off, you start on the Tour de Farce.
• 15:12
Yeah. I mean, put your underwear on, whatever. You know? KK and Lincoln around 7:00-ish. Yeah. That's also in Milwaukee. And then- We're kinda Milwaukee talking today... yeah, on this one. Yeah, yeah.
• 15:21
And the, the undies- This one... if, if you wanna peel off, uh, Company Brewing around the 7:00, around the same time. Yeah. So. Is that... Yeah, when it's- Yeah... taking off at Company Brewing this year?
• 15:31
The, something like that. In that zone.
• 15:33
It's always fun to end at Company Brewing 'cause you sh- everyone shows up in mass in, in their underpants, and there's usually some people there that are very nicely dressed having a fine dinner.
• 15:43
And then you just watch the expression on their face as, like, 100 kids show up in tighty whities or, or boner shorts or- I, I [laughs] Oh... yeah.
• 15:56
Well, every other, you know, fancy, neat city in the country has, like, a naked bike ride. Yeah. We get stuck with having to wear underwear. Oh.
• 16:04
Some of those people aren't really wearing much of what you would call underwear. [laughs] One guy had the bull wrath outfit on, the, the sling with only one side. Oh, right. That's kinda nasty. That's just wrong.
• 16:15
Yeah, it was pretty bad. I liked it. I don't wanna see that. I, you know, yeah. I'm, I, I wouldn't look good in it. That's for sure. Yeah. I'd look great in it. [laughs] So what are you gonna ride on Fat Tire Tour?
• 16:27
Do you have your bike picked out yet? [sighs] Well, I might take the CR-1 [laughs] since I like it so much, but I have, uh, I have, uh, several bikes that they're ready if I need to.
• 16:38
I haven't ma- I'm gonna make the decision day of. It's probably me, too. You know, it will be fun.
• 16:45
And, you know, it depends on, also on the forecast 'cause they are, the sor- pseudo long range forecast is calling for thunderstorms, and I might wanna try to find a bike that has, we'll say, fenders. Fenders.
• 16:56
Or, or- I just put my fender back on my- Or a fender... my Ape over there. Nice. Yeah, that's- Yeah... I need to find mine like that... getting ready for the, the deluge. Yeah.
• 17:06
As lo- [laughs] yeah, like when it was, what, half a foot [laughs] along, along a part of the ride- The ride that we can't tell you about... exactly. But it was underwater But, but we were right by a canal.
• 17:19
It was- Underwater... but we were, like, next to and equal to the- In, in the, in the water... the water level of that said thing. Well, that just- There is- That was unsettling after a bit...
• 17:28
and that, to me, says how high the lake is because- Yeah... that's not higher than the lake. And that's where I think I caught that precious piece of glass that kind of- Oh... delayed- Stopped. Yeah...
• 17:40
delayed us eating and it, uh- [laughs] Slowed the lunch... the swinging door. [laughs] You got, you got reprimanded on Instagram for using- Yes... a tire lever on your fat bike tire.
• 17:49
[laughs] I dunno, were you there to change the tires, Sarah? No. So. Yeah. It's there. Exactly. You just never know what's happening. No. Especially that. Huh. I'm not expecting these things. Uh- Why is life so hard?
• 18:03
Why... Words hurt, guys. Why am I out of beer? [laughs] Oh. Whoa. Wait, top of the hill. Dinga-dinga-dinga-dinga-dingy. Thank you, Mike. Thanks, Mike. Who rhymes with bike?
• 18:14
And I like So coming up before the next show is the beginning of Tour of America's Dairyland. Ooh. Bike racing in Wisconsin, northern Illinois, whatever. Those guys go fast, and those ladies too. Yeah.
• 18:31
It's, uh, this year it's before, it starts before the Tour de France starts. So y- a lot of... In the past, it was kind of in the same timeframe, so. You doing, uh, Tour of America's Dairyland race?
• 18:43
Got any ones you picked out yet? [coughs] The what? Tour of America's Dairyland. Uh, I'm only in town- To-... may- maybe to... Oh, I, I m- I may be taking off before the Shorewood one on Thursday.
• 18:55
It's the 20th through the 30th of June. Yeah. Starts in, yeah, like Grafton. 20th, yeah. In- 22nd, 20- It goes all around Southeast Wisconsin, maybe hits on- Yeah, so it's coming up real quick... northern Illinois. Yep.
• 19:09
So Mike is heading out to Virginia Beach. And I'm gonna rent a fat bike and ride it in the ocean with the saltwater, and it's gonna seize up, and it's not gonna be- [laughs]... my problem when I return it.
• 19:22
50 bucks, little man. Put that shit right in my- I will put that shit in your hand. [laughs] I, I, I had it overnight, rinsed it off, did my due diligence on that. I shit you not, that thing just khh.
• 19:36
And totally like it was been sitting out in the damn sun for years. Mm. That's what it looked like. It was amazing. Amazing how that actually acted. Ugh. [laughs] I would've charged you extra to clean it up.
• 19:52
Well, exactly. But I think I'm, like, the only human, maybe, maybe there's two others that I think actually rent these. [laughs] Have you had, have you rented it more than a year, uh, like multiple years? Yeah, yeah.
• 20:05
Is it always the same- It's always the s- no... same bike? No. No. Oh. [laughs] It's like, "Oh, this thing's fucked." [laughs] All right. Uh, okay, let's get another one. They never say don't ride it in the ocean.
• 20:19
You sh- I mean, I mean, it, it should go without saying, but- You know, based on some of the bikes I see how long they sit at UWM- Mm-hmm...
• 20:26
you should buy, like, a cheap bike there and lock it up somewhere and see if it's back the next year when you come back. Well- Oh, yeah... Todd, Todd goes through there and cuts those all out of there.
• 20:33
You can't just leave it forever. Right. Where, at UWM? Yeah. Well, there- Like two weeks after students move out... there's a, there, there's a, uh, um, ugh, whatever.
• 20:43
You get tagged with the, uh, abandoned- Yeah, bike tag... bicycle. You know, I had that when I did lock mine outside. They did it once- They just, they just hit every-... in the middle of the day every day...
• 20:53
yeah, they just hit everybody, and I'm like, "Kiss my ass, man" Well, and you know, some people were actually- [laughs]...
• 20:58
like, some people were so aggriv- aggravated by that that they actually called the campus police and said, "You know, isn't there something better you could be doing during the day?"
• 21:06
I don't know who that person was, but- Yeah... it might've been me. Oh. 'Cause I was like, "Are you kidding me? You guys just put 80 tags onto the library.
• 21:13
You can clearly see 75 of those [laughs] bikes were rode in that day." Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. "Well, I'll pass it on to the chief." [laughs] Job security, baby. He's, he's busy text messaging the students. Exactly.
• 21:27
And now he's fired. So- Oh, right before that starts up, uh, uh, Dave, uh, Bike Fed doing, uh, the Polish Moon. Polish Moon, that's right. Polish Moon ride. But
• 21:42
you know what is going on after that ride, independent of that ride, over at Sabbatic, Daikaiju attacks- Oh... Walker's Point. Dikaiju. Oh, really? S- yes. Dikaiju- That's a, that's a- At Sabbatic?
• 21:56
That's a- Is that this Friday? Uh, that is the 21st, next Friday. Oh. Late into the evening- Two Fridays... will be Daikaiju. Yeah. They had- Fire. [laughs] Fire. Yeah, I could see them twice in a year, I guess.
• 22:12
[laughs] Oh, it is, yeah, yeah. Uh, yeah, it- if you haven't seen them, go see them whenever they attack. Yeah. Even if you have to come all the way up from Chicago. It, it, it, it's, it's, it's worth it. It is just...
• 22:24
Oh. Speak- speaking of great bands, uh- You can't... I, I, I, I challenge anybody who saw them to say, "I really had a bad time there." Yeah, I don't think you could do it.
• 22:32
[laughs] Speaking of, you know, great bands, while Greg and I were enjoying some beverages and cheese at Dino's, we had- Beverages of wine and cheese... yeah, we had an idea- [laughs]...
• 22:45
or maybe it was me just talking silly, but a cover band that does every song as meows. Oh, that's a horrible idea. I know. [laughs] Next. It has, it's got legs. And- It's got legs [laughs]... next. That's that.
• 23:03
It's got legs. [laughs] Four, to be precise. Johnny Carson, ladies and gentlemen. Oh, we'd be remiss.
• 23:11
And that Sunday right after that, El Rongo's playing down over at the Stink Star Chopper Show- Oh, that's a good ride out to that place... in, in the dirty. Yeah. As long as they're singing new songs.
• 23:20
If it's not, like, '97- Sorry. Sorry, sorry, sorry... that was, that was a, uh... They played at the, the wake- Oh, yeah... and it was- With his friends?... very good. Yes, they are a fantastic...
• 23:32
If you've not- Mm-hmm... seen them live, I highly suggest you check them out. It was, they played during, during the Gold Sprint races- Yep, yep... which was kinda cool. Like, got them all in a frenzy. Yeah.
• 23:41
There's some guy out there moshing by himself. And it wasn't- Or-... it wasn't Dave... stum- or stumbling... who fell down there. [laughs] Dave was doing the Golds. He did- Yeah...
• 23:49
he challenged the guy that he came up against the first time to do it beer in hand, which they did. [laughs] Fair enough. Yeah, those are kinda- Yeah, that was a-... silliness, but fun. Yeah.
• 23:59
That, that was- I don't know... reminiscent of when they did the Pedal Metal over at, uh, uh-... distillery Oh, yeah Like, like five years ago- Similar... something like that.
• 24:08
Well, they did it once out at, uh, Ray's too for, for- Mm-hmm... a Bike Fed benefit. I think it's the same setup. I think it is. It's been floating around for a while. It looked like it, it... Yeah, it totally was.
• 24:16
I don't know. There was two different people that tied with the exact same times. I'm like, "Eh." Two different times- Two-... to the 100th of a second? Yes. That's a little suspicious.
• 24:24
That's, that was s- I think that's why they had to retest some of the raiders- racers. I think there might've been a problem. Oh, a, a little bit of doping going on? Yeah, yeah. I think Dave was doping.
• 24:32
I think computer doping. I think, I think, or I... Well, yeah, Lon's in it. Yeah. The computer was a dope. There's dope. There was dope in there. Dope.
• 24:39
[laughs] So I re-upped my, uh, NBC Sports subscription so we can watch the Tour de France here. Nice. Ah. Pretty much all of July, whatever, like the 6th through the 28th. Yeah.
• 24:53
So- If you wanna stop by and watch the old, uh, Tour de France, that'll be on the, the television. Please do. That'll be fun- Don't know. I'm gonna-... watching them dare, and their racers crash.
• 25:04
That's a, that's a big race. There's a lot of fast people in there. Leg up. You know how to expel. Sh- You gotta listen to Lance Armstrong's coverage of it on his podcast- [laughs]...
• 25:15
'cause he actually knows what he's talking about, and it's kinda cool. Of course he does. I've, I've got my Livestrong on. Yeah, I see that you're- Ho- holding my cage on... making that bracelet do its, do its work. Yep.
• 25:26
Well, it likes to pop off at really inopportune times. Did you guys see the new poster in the hallway? No. It's the El Rodeo Funduro coming up- Oh... in July. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The day after the River West 24.
• 25:42
So Tony's like, "Oh." I know. Isn't that the same day as Frostbike? No, that's Dave. I don't say that ever. [laughs] Da- I, I don't think this day after the 24 holds any water. It doesn't start till noon.
• 25:54
And neither do I. [laughs] Silver Lake is- Okay... kind of rolling.
• 26:00
It's not like- Day, day after the River West 24 is me getting up, doing a lap of the River West 24 to pick up as many spoke cards as I can find, followed by
• 26:10
chicken and waffles at Dino's, couple of Bloody Marys, and a really nice long nap. And then that'll be noon. And then go out to Oh, no.
• 26:20
[laughs] I think if anybody's in the area, uh, Silver Lake is down there towards the Illinois state line by Kenosha, Wisconsin. So Zion Cyclery down in, in Zion, Illinois is one of the sponsors, and
• 26:35
your fatbike.com friends. This is not quite the Fat Bike Beach Funduro, but, uh, much of the same character- Right... on a more mountain bikey kind of course area. It's actually a very nice course.
• 26:48
Yeah, it's pretty good. Yeah. Doesn't really- Not too, it's not- It doesn't really make you hurl 'cause it's too steep or any silliness like that Yeah, it's not difficult.
• 26:54
There's not a lot of, you know, rock gardens or anything crazy. It's just- That said-... nice terrain... I have crashed there before, so [laughs] It's possible if you feel like testing the crashing waters- Okay...
• 27:03
you can do it. I'm gonna crash in Frostbike then. In the crash of waters, waters. Crash the Beer Werfel.
• 27:11
I did- There was that, that fat bike race there that the whole bottom of the hill was solid ice, so everyone's first lap was a yard sale. Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. That was a rough one. [laughs] That is...
• 27:22
I thought I broke my thumb. I don't know if they, they u- used to groom it. I think they still do. Oh. We'll be talking about groomed trails here more later on in the season when we actually have snow in July. Yeah.
• 27:36
[laughs] By the way, this- Yeah, we're having, like, four good days of, uh, summer It's... It was 50 degrees today. Well, now what the- Well, that was fall... the hell? It's fall now. It's pre-fall. Yeah.
• 27:47
[laughs] We don't have summer anymore. We just had the pollinating. We have post-spring and pre-fall. Yeah. We just had the pollinating. Yeah. Now it's the pre-fall. Yeah- Hmm... I've had some wicked allergies lately.
• 27:59
Oh, I'm just so used to it. Yeah. I, I'm, uh, between winter- Yeah... winter sniffles to summer pollinatings, it's like [sniffs] I, I just sound like I'm a damn coke fiend. I, I don't know.
• 28:11
[laughs] It's like [sniffs] "Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah." I want hamburgers. You know, it's like I, I... I'm sorry. I [laughs] Hamburgers. This is just, "Hey, Mr. Lizard Man." [laughs] "Mm, you like a hamburger? Hey."
• 28:26
[laughs] So, and you hit the button, man. [laughs] Yeah. If you don't know the reference to that movie, you should watch that movie, 'cause it's damn funny, with the Pee-wees. Peaweeds.
• 28:36
[laughs] Anything else on your crumpled up piece of paper there? Yeah, just that stink star. Uh, Dave didn't win the Pass Bike that he was- Oh, no... lobbying for. Oh. Dave. He was close. He was one number off.
• 28:48
I don't know who won that one. Well, he was one number off on the backup numbers- Oh... in case number one didn't want it type thing. Nice. Wow. And but- I don't know.
• 28:59
They, they live streamed it, so I just looked at it... number one wanted it? I don't know. I think, I think- Oh, he could go take that person out and then he'd have- He'd be number one... this was a- Oh, yeah.
• 29:07
This was a- What was it, a-... this King Ralph-ing of it... a thing... yeah, right. [laughs] There can be only one. It's a- There can be only one. Oh. Was it, was it a cruiser? It's an, it's an SE- It's a Kur-... Racing.

• 29:39
He'll go thump that guy on the head. Yeah. See him riding it down the street, take it from him, so. No, he'll just use reason. [laughs] Maybe. Oh. I, eh. Uh. Maybe.
• 29:56
