- 2:25Speaker 2: have a sisterly sleepover that helps them rekindle their bond
- 2:29Speaker 2: while Nancy and Gus but heads.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I know you don't like the show. I just want
- 2:35Speaker 1: I want them out there that I do.
- 2:38Speaker 2: So Okay, I'm I'm glad you brought it up. Let's
- 2:40Speaker 2: talk about it.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Episode one I really liked, then it went downhill and
- 2:46Speaker 2: then it kind of then it kind of got better.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I thought this episode was good too, But when I
- 2:52Speaker 2: watch it, I get the same feelings as I did
- 2:56Speaker 2: when I had to watch Ride.
- 2:58Speaker 1: That makes me really sad because this is a whole
- 3:00Speaker 1: different caliber of show.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I agree with you, but I just find the character
- 3:07Speaker 2: so hard to like. I need to root for somebody,
- 3:11Speaker 2: and I am not. I'm kind of rooting for somebody.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But we're gonna get into the Okay, those details. I
- 3:19Speaker 2: need something different from it, though, and I can't pinpoint
- 3:22Speaker 2: what it is. Well that's fair, Honestly, you know what
- 3:26Speaker 2: it is.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm a bleep out everything Wendy just said. But y'all,
- 3:30Speaker 1: the tea is hype and hot over here. Look, I
- 3:34Speaker 1: enjoy this show. It does not feel like a chore
- 3:36Speaker 1: to me to watch it. So let's get into this episode.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Okay, way, do you have.
- 3:41Speaker 1: A little handful of news and notes for this episode?
- 3:46Speaker 1: This episode, which my manamagapion Mano is both an actor
- 3:49Speaker 1: and a writer, and his previous writing credits include the
- 3:52Speaker 1: Netflix series Pretty Smart and the twenty twenty one reboot
- 3:56Speaker 1: of Punky Rooster on Peacock. Shannon Colely directed this episode.
- 4:02Speaker 1: In her list of twenty five directing credits, she has
- 4:05Speaker 1: directed too, Hannah Swinson Mysteries, One Bad Apple, and A
- 4:09Speaker 1: Zest for Death. Outside of Hallmark, Shannon has directed episodes
- 4:12Speaker 1: for Firefly Lane, One of Us Is Lying, Nancy Drew,
- 4:16Speaker 1: and Supergirl. We have some new actors to credit. Kaitlyn
- 4:20Speaker 1: Howden place Shawna with twenty five acting credits. Kaitlyn has
- 4:23Speaker 1: appeared in television shows like A Million Little Things, The
- 4:27Speaker 1: Last of Us, Turner and Hooch, and The Babysitters Club,
- 4:30Speaker 1: which is another project that I think may need a
- 4:32Speaker 1: bingo space. And this is her first project for Hallmark.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Hey, I think Caitlin deserves to be more Hallmark.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she would be fantastic, Like the Friend of
- 4:44Speaker 1: the Sassy Best Friend. Listen to our Hannah Swinson episode
- 4:49Speaker 1: for Sassy Context.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Hazel Bartlett see Us plays Little May and a flashback
- 4:55Speaker 2: at the top of the episode. Hazel has twelve acting credits,
- 4:58Speaker 2: with recent appearances in the horror movie Long Legs, The
- 5:02Speaker 2: Good Doctor, The Hammer, and Zoe's Extraordinary Christmas.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Frey Edwards plays Little Amanda. There is absolutely no information
- 5:11Speaker 1: on IMDb about this young actor.
- 5:12Speaker 2: None zero and I don't know she really even had
- 5:15Speaker 2: any lines in this episode other than like nodding her
- 5:19Speaker 2: head or being a cute little sister. Maybe it's her
- 5:21Speaker 2: first project. I don't know. Dan Payne, Heyo plays Grester.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Dan has one hundred and twenty two acting credits, having
- 5:30Speaker 2: appeared in shows like Virgin River, forty episodes of crank Yankers,
- 5:35Speaker 2: as well as one episode of Once Upon a Time.
- 5:39Speaker 2: He co starred opposite Terry Hatcher in a twenty twenty
- 5:41Speaker 2: three Christmas movie called How To Fall in Love By
- 5:44Speaker 2: Christmas for Hallmark. Dan has been in Fourth Down and
- 5:48Speaker 2: Love and Christmas.
- 5:50Speaker 1: She wrote, Let's take a quick break and we'll come
- 5:52Speaker 1: right back with more Chicken Sisters. To me, in my mind,
- 5:57Speaker 1: this episode was like the one where Amanda almost has
- 5:59Speaker 1: a I'm shn ark m mm hmmm. So let's talk
- 6:03Speaker 1: about it, okay. Amanda bounces all around town trying to
- 6:08Speaker 1: find a place to land. We had suspected at the
- 6:11Speaker 1: end of last episode that she went to May. She
- 6:12Speaker 1: in fact goes to Shawna's I Love that choice, but
- 6:15Speaker 1: she gets bounced out of Shauna's Gus turns her away
- 6:19Speaker 1: and there's something about this scene they act like at
- 6:22Speaker 1: the end of the episode. The actly it was a
- 6:25Speaker 1: big reveal that the reason Amanda couldn't stay there was
- 6:27Speaker 1: there was too much stuff that was obvious to me immediate.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Duh, Yeah, have you been watching?
- 6:33Speaker 1: Did you notice the way Gus is like massaging her hands?
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yes? I noticed it in this episode. She also did
- 6:39Speaker 2: it maybe last week's episode two. I think there's clues there, y'all.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And then she subtles for staying with May, like fine,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I'll sleep here if there's no room at the freaking inn.
- 6:52Speaker 2: For me.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I thought they had some nice sisterly moments and May
- 6:57Speaker 1: once again is the bigger person here, like she is
- 7:00Speaker 1: her truth because man's like, oh, you're so perfect. You
- 7:02Speaker 1: think you're so perfect and mean It's like I'm not.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm lying to myn fiance. I'm a complete fraud. And
- 7:08Speaker 1: I think I think there's jealousy, Like I think Amanda
- 7:12Speaker 1: is jealous of May as much as she gives her
- 7:15Speaker 1: a hard time for this persona she has as like
- 7:18Speaker 1: the host of sparkling, and that is her personality and
- 7:20Speaker 1: everything in this place. I think she's May got out. Yeah,
- 7:25Speaker 1: I had this like big, fancy life in New York.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And although Amanda got away from Mimi's, she's still in
- 7:34Speaker 1: this town. And I think there's a lot of sour.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Great there's absolutely tons of resentment from Amanda to May.
- 7:44Speaker 2: And and the narrator says, sprinkles it in there too
- 7:47Speaker 2: about like you know, Amanda was the one who stayed
- 7:50Speaker 2: or whatever. Yes, of course there's resentment, and she sees
- 7:53Speaker 2: May as like May's perfect, May's living the perfect life.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Where Amanda knows that she's got a shit hand with
- 8:03Speaker 2: her husband, not that the other parts of her life
- 8:08Speaker 2: are shitty, because I don't think they are truly maybe
- 8:11Speaker 2: her relationship with her mom, but she has a wonderful
- 8:14Speaker 2: relationship with Nancy. She's got a great kid. She just
- 8:18Speaker 2: has a shitty husband.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And the final scene in the episode where she's in
- 8:22Speaker 1: the kitchen and like she's got a nice house. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 1: seems like she lives a very comfortable life in that regard, right.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting. We get a little bit
- 8:33Speaker 1: more insight. There's a comment about Amanda choosing Frank Junior
- 8:35Speaker 1: as a way out of Gus's house as opposed to like,
- 8:39Speaker 1: I was.
- 8:39Speaker 2: So in love with him.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And we also see the commentary like May poisoned Amanda's
- 8:47Speaker 1: happiness with her realistic take on marriage.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Look, I feel like you need somebody to say something
- 8:55Speaker 2: to you if you're going to marry someone who you
- 8:58Speaker 2: know is not great. I think May was doing what
- 9:02Speaker 2: May does. She's the big, older sister who has always
- 9:05Speaker 2: protected little sister Amanda. She protected her from the bully
- 9:10Speaker 2: who was calling them trash when they were a kid.
- 9:13Speaker 2: We learned last week she was protecting her by paying
- 9:17Speaker 2: for the electricity bill and whatever, right, Like she didn't
- 9:20Speaker 2: want her to experience that kind of stuff, to see
- 9:24Speaker 2: the reality of the life that they lived. So I
- 9:29Speaker 2: think May truly had some perspective on Amanda's wedding day
- 9:33Speaker 2: and was like, you have so much more than this.
- 9:37Speaker 2: That's basically what it boils down to. May knows Amanda
- 9:41Speaker 2: has so much more to offer out of life, or
- 9:45Speaker 2: can get so much more out of life, Like she
- 9:47Speaker 2: has passions and she should be pursuing that, Like she
- 9:50Speaker 2: shouldn't be making fried chicken and cleaning oil creates or whatever.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Like you have a talent explore.
- 9:58Speaker 2: That exactly, And like our teenagers, they don't want to
- 10:06Speaker 2: hear it, right, they don't want to hear it from
- 10:08Speaker 2: somebody else.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Well, she didn't want to be told that she was wrong.
- 10:11Speaker 1: She didn't want to be told like here, Amanda thinks
- 10:14Speaker 1: like this this is the way out, Like I'm gonna
- 10:16Speaker 1: get out of my mama's house. I'm not gonna be
- 10:18Speaker 1: a Meeni's girl anymore. And so in spite of the
- 10:21Speaker 1: fact that like the guy is Frank Junior, I do
- 10:24Speaker 1: think Amanda in that time like loved Frank Junior. He
- 10:29Speaker 1: was as much as she knew what that meant. But
- 10:34Speaker 1: I think to her, she's like, I'm doing it like
- 10:37Speaker 1: I did it. And then May comes in and she's
- 10:39Speaker 1: like it's not enough. Yeah, and you're right Like a teenager,
- 10:43Speaker 1: they're like, don't tell me, I'm right right.
- 10:45Speaker 2: So I just think Amanda is just gonna forever be
- 10:48Speaker 2: pissed at May.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You know, they have that like sweet sister moment.
- 10:52Speaker 2: They have a lot of great moments.
- 10:54Speaker 1: They breaks down crying Amanda like lays in bed with her,
- 10:57Speaker 1: like I we saw that they have that sisterly connection.
- 11:01Speaker 1: They have that like oh, squealing over you kissing Searchio
- 11:04Speaker 1: took issue with that scene, and I know.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Last week you did take issue with that scene.
- 11:08Speaker 1: You're like, I'm not clutching my pearls and my notes
- 11:10Speaker 1: are like I guess I am clutching my pearls a
- 11:12Speaker 1: little bit because is this something to be celebrated.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Like made dousn't care? She wants her away from Frank Junior.
- 11:20Speaker 1: He doesn't care, and that's your I guess. In May's
- 11:23Speaker 1: point of view, she's like, thank god, you saw that
- 11:25Speaker 1: there is something else out there, exactly enjoying that. But
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm just struggling with the portrayal of this a little bit.
- 11:35Speaker 1: But we're gonna talk about Frank Junior. But at the
- 11:38Speaker 1: end of the episode, obviously he comes back and Amanda returns,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and I loved May's lying. She's like, yeah, marriage is
- 11:45Speaker 1: supposed to be hard sometimes, but it's not supposed to
- 11:47Speaker 1: be hard all the time. And Amanda says, just because
- 11:52Speaker 1: you ruined your relationship doesn't mean I have to ruin mine.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Amanda's a bitch, you suck man. As much as May
- 12:01Speaker 2: was there for her over the whatever two days, it was,
- 12:06Speaker 2: she's that was uncalled for. I thought, this is why
- 12:12Speaker 2: I don't like Amanda.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, she's not likable here.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I am not rooting for Amanda. Go back, go enjoy
- 12:17Speaker 2: Frank Junior because he is garbage.
- 12:21Speaker 1: So let's talk about Frankie and frank Junior. Okay, Frankie
- 12:25Speaker 1: orchestrates them getting back together, and it is so sad
- 12:29Speaker 1: when she's trying to draw it out of frank Junior,
- 12:31Speaker 1: and everything he says is basically that Amanda's good at
- 12:34Speaker 1: being his mom.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna stop you there. Did you see Shauna
- 12:37Speaker 2: react in the background of this, So Shauna is like,
- 12:41Speaker 2: because they're in the restaurant, and Shawna's like overhearing this
- 12:44Speaker 2: conversation between Frankie and her dad and like she kind
- 12:47Speaker 2: of like steps in, like she's gonna say something, and
- 12:49Speaker 2: Frankie like holds her off, like it's all right, I
- 12:52Speaker 2: got it. But yeah, it was real sad, real sad.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Doing the laundry, she makes dinner every like you are
- 13:01Speaker 1: a child.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I would be so heartbroken if those are the things
- 13:06Speaker 2: my husband thought about me. You know.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Frankie here, she just wants her parents to get back together,
- 13:11Speaker 1: and I can understand that. She's like, I want the
- 13:14Speaker 1: status quo, I want life as I know it. I
- 13:16Speaker 1: don't want whatever this disruption is. And Lindsay kind of
- 13:22Speaker 1: tries to convince her that divorced parents are where it's at,
- 13:25Speaker 1: and then we see the reality of that either side.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And then Frankie comes full circle because a man comes
- 13:32Speaker 1: back home. Frank Junior goes back into his beer drinking
- 13:35Speaker 1: on the recliner. Honey, can you do my laundry? You
- 13:37Speaker 1: know how I'm pissed? I was, And she's like, well,
- 13:40Speaker 1: I'll get to it. And Frankie's face was like, oh shit,
- 13:46Speaker 1: the realization is not what I want for my mom.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, that was sad. That was super sad. And I'm
- 13:54Speaker 2: hoping I'm hoping that Frankie here break the cycle, Like
- 14:02Speaker 2: I hope she goes and pursues her dreams in New
- 14:06Speaker 2: York and doesn't just fall into like I'm gonna be
- 14:10Speaker 2: a Franny's girl then, and I'm gonna do fall into
- 14:13Speaker 2: the same cycle because obviously that's what's happening, like from
- 14:19Speaker 2: Nancy to now this it just yikes ekes all around.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It was sad. That was a sad ending. There was
- 14:30Speaker 2: a sad ending, and I feel like Amanda was just
- 14:34Speaker 2: like I wish she would have had some sort of
- 14:38Speaker 2: like realization about it.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I wanted more of a reaction from her. And I
- 14:43Speaker 1: think it's I think they did a nice job of
- 14:46Speaker 1: showing like the teenage mind is so short sighted. She's like,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I got to get my parents back together, so I
- 14:50Speaker 1: got to coach my dad through what he's gonna say
- 14:51Speaker 1: to get my mom back. But she didn't think beyond
- 14:54Speaker 1: that moment, like mom comes home, we haven't solved any
- 14:57Speaker 1: of the problems that existed before Dad falls straight back
- 15:00Speaker 1: into his old habits, Like there was nothing beyond you
- 15:03Speaker 1: need to tell mom why you appreciate her, and I'm
- 15:06Speaker 1: gonna tell you what to say.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Well because Ann the unspoken the entire Frank
- 15:13Speaker 2: Junior lied to Amanda about having the visectomy, Like that
- 15:18Speaker 2: is none of that is addressed. That is such like
- 15:20Speaker 2: a huge distrust. Is that the word I'm looking for?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Like a huge lie? Something you would keep secret for
- 15:28Speaker 2: so long from your partner is not cool. And she's
- 15:31Speaker 2: just like, okay with it now, all right?
- 15:34Speaker 1: Nancy and Gus clash.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I thought there were good things about this and bad
- 15:40Speaker 2: things about it. The good things I thought about it
- 15:43Speaker 2: were I loved when Gus told Nancy that Frank's senior
- 15:48Speaker 2: was good for nothing.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Yeah, did it make you a question if they actually
- 15:52Speaker 1: had an affair?
- 15:55Speaker 2: You know, I hadn't given it much thought, but maybe
- 15:58Speaker 2: because maybe Gus hasn't always had that opinion of Frank Senior,
- 16:02Speaker 2: And maybe Nancy was just under the assumption that something
- 16:06Speaker 2: happened between those two.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Where he did something else. Gus wouldn't touch him with
- 16:09Speaker 1: a ten foot pol Yeah, maybe I wonder if more
- 16:11Speaker 1: is going to come out there, or if her opinion
- 16:14Speaker 1: about him comes from that experience.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I do not know.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I did gasp when the truck with the frans stands
- 16:20Speaker 1: dig her and drove through her high range.
- 16:22Speaker 2: It felt very reminiscent of our political climate right now. Right,
- 16:28Speaker 2: That's all I'm gonna say about it. Yes, I agree,
- 16:31Speaker 2: And it was.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Especially harbreaking because that's the only pretty part of Gus's house. Like,
- 16:35Speaker 1: those flowers are beautiful and we see her out there
- 16:37Speaker 1: tending to them. The inside of her house is a mess,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and even the outside there's like things still piled up. Yeah,
- 16:43Speaker 1: but she has those beautiful hygh ranges, and yeah, they
- 16:46Speaker 1: destroyed them.
- 16:47Speaker 2: The thing I hated about their whole interaction was that
- 16:50Speaker 2: stupid like physical fight that they got into. It was
- 16:53Speaker 2: like a poking match, and then like with the just
- 16:57Speaker 2: I didn't think it was like executed that well. I
- 17:02Speaker 2: thought it was silly.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Actually, I agree, like, these women are not going to
- 17:07Speaker 1: be physically fighting now. Nancy was making an extended metaphor
- 17:12Speaker 1: about how like you have these beautiful flowers and you
- 17:14Speaker 1: won't tend to them, obviously, talking about Gus's daughters, particularly Amanda,
- 17:20Speaker 1: and I don't know how I feel like, you know,
- 17:22Speaker 1: Nancy calls Hone plants flowers. She's like, well, Gus won't
- 17:25Speaker 1: appreciate it. I will, But Nancy, Nancy needs a good smack.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Too, tell me more.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Like she is good to Amanda, but she needs to
- 17:40Speaker 1: go beyond that and expect more from her son. She
- 17:45Speaker 1: does confront him and she's like, what are you gonna
- 17:47Speaker 1: do about it?
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you need to a tone for your but behavior.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Sure, I think she really needs to hold his feet
- 17:53Speaker 1: to the fire and be like, this is not how
- 17:55Speaker 1: you treat people, This is not how you treat me,
- 17:57Speaker 1: This is not how you treat your wife. We're not
- 18:00Speaker 1: as a team. We are not going to allow you
- 18:02Speaker 1: to get away with it.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think she's ever going to do that
- 18:04Speaker 2: because she has lost Frank Senior obviously, and I think
- 18:07Speaker 2: maybe she feels like if she pushes Frank Junior. Yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I don't think you're wrong that he'll bounce. I don't
- 18:14Speaker 2: know the Nancy character. I had so much kind of
- 18:19Speaker 2: hope for her at the beginning. I just feel like
- 18:22Speaker 2: she's a real disappointment. The only romantic relationship I'm rooting
- 18:26Speaker 2: for in this show is Sabrina and Gruster. M Yeah,
- 18:29Speaker 2: we just get just glimpses of Gruster in this episode.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I like him.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I like him too, and I love Sabrina me too.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I Sabrina and her daughter Lindsay in that moment in
- 18:43Speaker 2: the bedroom, because Lindsay's so upset that her dad just
- 18:47Speaker 2: forgot about the re call and she was so upset.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I thought she was so good in this scene. I
- 18:57Speaker 2: thought that was one of the best scenes of the
- 18:58Speaker 2: whole episode. And shout out, shout out. I know we
- 19:02Speaker 2: don't do like did you see that? But I love bought.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Lindsay was wearing like silk bonnet. Me too.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I thought that was like super realistic and I like
- 19:11Speaker 2: that they showed that.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I think that representation is nice too. Mm hmm. Do
- 19:16Speaker 1: you have any other key plot points you want to discuss?
- 19:20Speaker 2: Just one the community gossip? Oh huh, so, you know,
- 19:24Speaker 2: of course, we at the very beginning of the episode,
- 19:27Speaker 2: they showed like an from last week's episode where the
- 19:31Speaker 2: girl was talking gossip about Gus and they they called
- 19:36Speaker 2: him gin.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah they did that last week too.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Is that how you say it?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I mean, that's how they're saying it.
- 19:43Speaker 2: It's so weird to me. But it's like they're dropping
- 19:45Speaker 2: these like breadcrumbs, and it's like, let's get to it already.
- 19:48Speaker 2: We're now going to be in episode six next week. Yeah,
- 19:52Speaker 2: there's only eight episodes. Yeah, even Nancy like spies him
- 19:56Speaker 2: through the bedroom window.
- 19:57Speaker 1: But come on, y'all, we all know she's not having
- 19:59Speaker 1: an affair. Yeah, Like, and at least let the view
- 20:03Speaker 1: were in on it. Like, it's okay if you don't
- 20:06Speaker 1: want the town to know. But I think it's time
- 20:10Speaker 1: to stop pretending like the viewer isn't smart enough to
- 20:13Speaker 1: understand what's going on.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Here, right, Yeah, and especially with the like handa rubbing
- 20:17Speaker 2: that we see Gusts doing, Like obviously there's bigger issues here.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I love it when they let the viewer in on it.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It could be done without coming out and telling us
- 20:29Speaker 1: let's talk clockworthy moments. Sure, so never before seen on
- 20:34Speaker 1: Hallmark as far as I know, hangover.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I love the line. It's vintage Diva Patak Sabrina. Also
- 20:47Speaker 1: Nancy talking to Frank Junior and he's like, she left,
- 20:50Speaker 1: and she's like, can you blame her?
- 20:51Speaker 2: Frank Junior and his.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Line is that's the plan, my god. Funny, shitty but funny.
- 20:57Speaker 1: And the final funny moment is making Shanna an elite
- 20:59Speaker 1: lofe Airbnb host in addition to her many side hustles.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Made me laugh.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yes, I agree with all of those. For me, I
- 21:08Speaker 2: really enjoyed the like sister dynamic between Amanda and May.
- 21:12Speaker 2: It was nice to see them getting together rather than fighting.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Of course it all went south at the end for that,
- 21:21Speaker 2: but I especially when like May is like crying in
- 21:24Speaker 2: bed and Amanda Caesar and just climbed into bed. I
- 21:26Speaker 2: just thought that was a really, really good scene. My
- 21:32Speaker 2: other one is at the end, and we already talked
- 21:36Speaker 2: about it, like Cranky's realization about her family dynamic. I
- 21:41Speaker 2: said this a couple episodes ago. I feel like, again,
- 21:44Speaker 2: we're just scratching the surface. It's so look. I would
- 21:48Speaker 2: watch it. If this show goes to a season two,
- 21:51Speaker 2: I just hope they dig in deeper to do these things.
- 21:55Speaker 2: These to me feel like very relatable topic subject matter
- 22:00Speaker 2: that people would understand. Viewers would understand. This is obviously
- 22:03Speaker 2: not like one of those like dreamy Hallmark shows or
- 22:07Speaker 2: movies that you want to like run away.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah. So what I was thinking about this show is
- 22:13Speaker 3: I think one of the reasons I enjoy it is
- 22:15Speaker 3: that it's touching on big important issues in a really accessible,
- 22:20Speaker 3: non uncomfortable way.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I think it's important to tell these stories. I do too,
- 22:27Speaker 1: in a way that I don't feel worse.
- 22:32Speaker 2: For having watched.
- 22:35Speaker 1: We're talking about alcoholism, we're talking about infidelity. We're talking
- 22:38Speaker 1: about unhappy marriages. We're talking about deceit among spouses. We're
- 22:44Speaker 1: talking about difficult parental relationships. We're talking about parenting teenagers
- 22:49Speaker 1: and co parenting relationship. There's so many things going on?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Is there too many things going on? I know?
- 22:54Speaker 1: I don't actually think so Okay, I don't okay. Who
- 23:01Speaker 1: is your father? Friend of the Wheat?
- 23:02Speaker 2: Hands down? It's May.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 1: May is like holding the town of Marnac on her back. Seriously,
- 23:08Speaker 1: She's like, what can interesting? There's like no kitchen clash
- 23:11Speaker 1: content in this episode one except for yeah, Sabrina catches
- 23:17Speaker 1: Nancy and Guss's spray fight, yes, which I thought was great. Yes,
- 23:20Speaker 1: reminded us like why we're all here?
- 23:22Speaker 2: But yeah, it's May to me, she's having the most
- 23:25Speaker 2: growth since returning. And I had wondered, I know you
- 23:30Speaker 2: read the book. Was May the central character in the
- 23:35Speaker 2: story in the book?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Now Amanda kind of share the burden in the book.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I did like the full circle moment with Patrick, Yes, seven, Patrick,
- 23:45Speaker 1: I see, yeah, heartbreak Pie, I see, I see what
- 23:48Speaker 1: you're doing here? Yeah, yeah, all right, thank you for
- 23:51Speaker 1: listening to this episode, recapping and reviewing the Chicken Sisters.
- 23:55Speaker 1: We have three more episodes to go, y'all. I'll be
- 23:58Speaker 1: back for the next three weeks.
- 24:00Speaker 2: With those there.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I just want to address this. There has been some
- 24:04Speaker 1: discussion in our Facebook group about when stuff is coming,
- 24:07Speaker 1: like from Hallmark Plus to Linear or from Linear to
- 24:10Speaker 1: Hallmark Plus. And I don't know if you've ever discussed
- 24:13Speaker 1: it here, but the idea is never for those to
- 24:15Speaker 1: be one to one copies of each.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 24:18Speaker 1: They're intended to stand alone. They want to have fully
- 24:21Speaker 1: separate audiences and from like a business standpoint, like Hallmark
- 24:25Speaker 1: is not going to be able to sell advertising on
- 24:27Speaker 1: a movie like The Real West if advertisers know it's
- 24:30Speaker 1: just going to be dumped to the streaming platform two
- 24:33Speaker 1: weeks later.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think there's some confusion that they people think
- 24:36Speaker 2: that once it's on Linear, then it's going to end
- 24:39Speaker 2: up on Hallmark Plus the next day. That's not the case. No,
- 24:43Speaker 2: it's on Peacock.
- 24:44Speaker 1: It's on Peacock Friendly. Uh huh.
- 24:47Speaker 2: There's other avenues the other ways.
- 24:49Speaker 1: But yes, they are not one to one copies of
- 24:51Speaker 1: each other.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Not gonna happen.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Some clarification as far as we understand it. Once again,
- 24:57Speaker 1: thank you for listening to this episode. We'll be back
- 25:00Speaker 1: with more Chicken Sisters, and tomorrow we'll be back with
- 25:03Speaker 1: our thoughts on Autumn at Apple Hill. We'll see then
- 25:06Speaker 1: byey Mi. Al Right, friends, before we go, just a
- 25:20Speaker 1: quick heads up. You're about to hear some ads. These
- 25:23Speaker 1: little gems help us keep the show running and the
- 25:25Speaker 1: Hallmark love flowing. So do with that info what you will,
- 25:29Speaker 1: Grab a snack, hit the skip button, or maybe just
- 25:32Speaker 1: maybe listen in and discover your new favorite product.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Bye
