- 0:00Speaker 1: The following is the Phil Henry Show Friday Encore. This
- 0:03Speaker 1: is the Steve Bozell Show US. I watched a car
- 0:25Speaker 1: pull ride up into my driveway, saw a shadow slip
- 0:33Speaker 1: away from my house. So I hurried straight and looked
- 0:42Speaker 1: in her room, and I found out that it was
- 0:50Speaker 1: my loving spiles.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:54Speaker 1: All the snake scrawl at night. That's what they say,
- 1:02Speaker 1: when the sun goes down, yere, and then the snakes
- 1:07Speaker 1: will play. So I waited in the shadows until morning,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and the gun I held was trembling in my hand. No,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I did not plan to give them any warning, for
- 1:34Speaker 1: the devil on my shoulder and command, have command. All
- 1:42Speaker 1: the snakes call it night. That's what they say when
- 1:50Speaker 1: the sun goes down, and then the snakes will play. Oh,
- 1:58Speaker 1: the trial in a little while was over and they
- 2:07Speaker 1: sentence and die right away. But before leave this courtroom, please,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you're aller there is well, there's something more that I'd
- 2:26Speaker 1: like to see. He he he you're Oh, the snakes
- 2:31Speaker 1: crawl a night, that's what they say when the sun
- 2:38Speaker 1: goes down. Then the snakes smoothly great good quit Wait,
- 2:46Speaker 1: Oh the stick got bored and the snake goes all right,
- 2:49Speaker 1: the snake swallowed me. Yeah, thanks a lot, General for Wow,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you carve that up. Yeah, Jenny, I let the guy.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I'm very sorry, Steve. I thought it was over and
- 2:57Speaker 1: I was just giving you a cue. No one over
- 2:59Speaker 1: had the great Hardly Pride song, and I'm very happy
- 3:01Speaker 1: and proud to revise that called the snakes. Oh boy,
- 3:06Speaker 1: they crawl at night. Huh, they do crawl at night.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And unless you've been in that situation, I don't want
- 3:11Speaker 1: to hear anything about it. I'm supposed I was to
- 3:12Speaker 1: ask you a question, go ahead, have you No? I
- 3:16Speaker 1: have not. No, I have not, But I'm emotionally I'm
- 3:20Speaker 1: right there. I know how that guy feels. I'm fortunate.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I've got a good wife in April, and I do
- 3:26Speaker 1: not believe that she would ever do me wrong. Well,
- 3:29Speaker 1: what about you with her? What are you talking? I
- 3:32Speaker 1: would never cheat on my I mean I have been tempted.
- 3:35Speaker 1: You come on a program a few times, mister Bozel,
- 3:39Speaker 1: and the name is Bozel in the name of everything holy.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry, sorry, but you have said you've been, You've
- 3:45Speaker 1: gone to you know you've got lap dancers. Don't start
- 3:48Speaker 1: playing it too cute, you know. Well, Okay, oh wait,
- 3:51Speaker 1: are you trying to tell me now you did that
- 3:53Speaker 1: one time? You said that was like cheating. Well you
- 3:55Speaker 1: got a lap dance, you said you might as well
- 3:57Speaker 1: have just gone and stripped and stripped down. Yes, you know,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you're right, Robert, I did say that at one time. Uh,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I ordered up three lap dances one night, and it
- 4:07Speaker 1: was me and my crew. It was one of our
- 4:08Speaker 1: Christmas party. As a matter of fact, but as many
- 4:10Speaker 1: years ago, how long have you had you been married
- 4:12Speaker 1: at the time, Well, April and I have been married.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I've been married to April now going on twenty plus years.
- 4:17Speaker 1: But uh yeah, it was a few years in and
- 4:20Speaker 1: uh so we had a Christmas party and I took
- 4:24Speaker 1: the crew and that is just nothing but guys, and
- 4:27Speaker 1: we went over here to uh the Velveta Gardens and
- 4:31Speaker 1: Velvet Gardens. Belvita is a cheese. It's what Belvida is
- 4:35Speaker 1: a cheese. It's a cheese. Well it may be these sponsored.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I don't know. It's called Belvida Garden something Belvida Garden
- 4:44Speaker 1: and uh yeah, it could be that the cheese sponsors it. Yeah, okay, sure, hey,
- 4:48Speaker 1: wait a minute, this is called the Steve bozelch high, folks,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I'm Steve Bozel. Alright, I'm sorry, but you know, Phill
- 4:53Speaker 1: has asked us to keep a lot of the who
- 4:55Speaker 1: we call the amateur hosts, to keep you guys honest amateur.
- 4:59Speaker 1: I've been on the Phil Henry Show for so many
- 5:01Speaker 1: times and so many times. You don't mean to disrespect you, Steve.
- 5:05Speaker 1: So anyway, I took the guys over to this place
- 5:07Speaker 1: i'd had exotic dances. The sign said exotic dancers, you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: two for one. I had two beers for one. It
- 5:13Speaker 1: was a happy hour and had exotic dancers and you
- 5:16Speaker 1: could come in and you could watch these girls. You know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: they danced the exotic dances and what is that? What
- 5:22Speaker 1: is exotic dances? Well, three guesses, all right, Well I
- 5:26Speaker 1: just I didn't know. Yeah, they take off portions, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 1: of their their clothing. And so the guys, as a gag,
- 5:35Speaker 1: I guess, bought me like three lap dances from this
- 5:38Speaker 1: one girl. Her name was Veronica or something, very lovely girl,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and she and you know, and she you know, put
- 5:45Speaker 1: it right there. But well, I mean it was it
- 5:50Speaker 1: was a lap dance that they took me to a
- 5:52Speaker 1: back room for oh, so now we're getting down to it. No, no, no,
- 5:56Speaker 1: nothing happened. Believe me. You know, I'm just like Chris Rock.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You know, there's no champagne in the in the champagne room.
- 6:02Speaker 1: They just they just make you think it.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Huh.
- 6:04Speaker 1: They just make you thinking. But she did get up
- 6:07Speaker 1: close and personal. I mean about the I'm to try
- 6:10Speaker 1: for the folks out there. I don't mean to. I
- 6:12Speaker 1: don't want to scandalize anybody, but you do buy a
- 6:14Speaker 1: lap dance if you take it back here. Wow, get
- 6:17Speaker 1: a little nervous here talking about this. I told April
- 6:20Speaker 1: about it. Oh you told your wife all about it? Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I came home because I felt bad, and I said, Honey,
- 6:26Speaker 1: I want to just tell you about something. I said.
- 6:28Speaker 1: A girl she put her right up there. And April
- 6:31Speaker 1: just got up and did the dishes. But I feel
- 6:34Speaker 1: she was listening to me anyway, And I explained, you
- 6:36Speaker 1: know when you say a girl put it right there, Well,
- 6:39Speaker 1: she's dancing, okay, and she's going in a circle and
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's nose high, I mean, and anyway, she's, you know,
- 6:47Speaker 1: dancing to a song called you Better Shop. You ever
- 6:50Speaker 1: heard that's? My mama told me, Yeah, you better shop around. Yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 1: that's it. So my mama told me. And just as
- 6:56Speaker 1: she said, you better shop around, came both cheeks of her,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know, but right eye level. Huh yeah, face level.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So that's when I felt, if ever, I was gonna
- 7:07Speaker 1: fall in love. That was the moment, and I told myself,
- 7:10Speaker 1: don't fall in love. Don't fall in love. Don't because
- 7:12Speaker 1: I didn't want to cheat on my wife.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So if you'd fall in love with her, you would
- 7:16Speaker 3: have felt that you had cheated, of.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Course, so I thank thank god I did not. I
- 7:23Speaker 1: just felt, you know, it was I was so tempted
- 7:25Speaker 1: because would you better shop around? And now her butts
- 7:28Speaker 1: swinging back and forth right eye level. Hard not to
- 7:31Speaker 1: fall in love with something like that. Tell me about it.
- 7:33Speaker 1: So anyway, right now I'm looking at by the way.
- 7:36Speaker 1: We have a little YouTube going because of the song
- 7:38Speaker 1: we just sang, the snakes Crawling and that come from YouTube.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And I'm looking at the Marty Stewart. But there's a
- 7:44Speaker 1: guy there, Marty Stewart. I like the way addresses. He's
- 7:46Speaker 1: got a complete class act going on, you know.
- 7:49Speaker 4: A game.
- 7:49Speaker 1: He's got a mullet and lever and and slick and
- 7:52Speaker 1: slick down leather pants. Man, we're talking about who you
- 7:55Speaker 1: talking about? You're tied on who Marty Stewart. Marty Stewart,
- 7:58Speaker 1: the country singer. Yeah, yeah, look him and he's got
- 8:01Speaker 1: the pants are slicked there, slicked in? What do you
- 8:04Speaker 1: mean slicked in? Well, look it looks like they're those
- 8:06Speaker 1: pants they got it was sprayed on. Well that's the
- 8:09Speaker 1: country style. Yeah, I mean, what are you getting all
- 8:11Speaker 1: like hot about it or something? No, you might be
- 8:14Speaker 1: I'm not getting hot about anything. There's the pants, and
- 8:17Speaker 1: there's that's Charlie Pride right there, so I don't know. Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 1: mister Price's wearing like a blue a blue leather jacket
- 8:23Speaker 1: or something. Charlie Pride's unusual. He's a black man singing
- 8:26Speaker 1: country I know it's not unheard of. I know it's
- 8:28Speaker 1: not unheard of. But there are far more white guys
- 8:30Speaker 1: singing like soul music or R and B than there
- 8:34Speaker 1: are black guys singing country music. If you get right
- 8:36Speaker 1: down to it, well they see, this is you put
- 8:39Speaker 1: assigning race to everything. Steve, you can't do that. Well,
- 8:43Speaker 1: how come all right? How come you only have like
- 8:46Speaker 1: two or three black guys singing country music? And there's
- 8:49Speaker 1: like a nine thousand white guys who want to who
- 8:52Speaker 1: who want to sing R and B. I think it's
- 8:54Speaker 1: just better music. Yeah, this better music. Oh yeah, right,
- 8:59Speaker 1: better music. I like to do country music, you know,
- 9:02Speaker 1: and it's all it is to it. Yeah, you don't
- 9:04Speaker 1: love that us. I don't love it that much, but
- 9:06Speaker 1: it's it's there's several of them that I like. Well.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Today here on a Steve Ozel show, as I fill
- 9:12Speaker 1: in for Phil Henry Uh, I was reminded of some
- 9:18Speaker 1: early experiences I had as a young man working in uh,
- 9:22Speaker 1: you know, direct order and working in warehouses and stuff
- 9:25Speaker 1: for people to have stuff mailed out of Christmas time. Yeah,
- 9:27Speaker 1: you were, you were tweeting about this. Yeah, and I
- 9:31Speaker 1: want to let people know the dangers of it and
- 9:34Speaker 1: if there's some way that we can come to a
- 9:36Speaker 1: meeting of a meeting of the minds on this and
- 9:38Speaker 1: try to you know, make it up to you because
- 9:40Speaker 1: I've I worked in the in the mail order business.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I worked at warehouse when I was just out of
- 9:45Speaker 1: high school and we would get orders and would say,
- 9:48Speaker 1: this is an overnight rush delivery. They had three kinds
- 9:51Speaker 1: of orders. They had overnight, they had three day delivery
- 9:54Speaker 1: and uh and just like regular mail. Yeah, it's like
- 9:57Speaker 1: take a week or something exactly. Yeah, So everything was
- 10:01Speaker 1: fine when they'd say, okay, let's see, we got got
- 10:06Speaker 1: to get this out for a week, a week, a week,
- 10:08Speaker 1: that's fine. Even three three when they said we got
- 10:10Speaker 1: an overnight delivery. See all better, just hop to it.
- 10:15Speaker 1: All of a sudden, man, you had ten so yeah,
- 10:19Speaker 1: just the memory of it right now is kind of
- 10:21Speaker 1: coming back to me. If you're gonna vomit, there's a cup.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm not gonna vomit, but can I have
- 10:27Speaker 1: some of this? Said ginger beer? Yeah, go ahead, I'm sorry.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Folks like, yeah, feel better? Yeah, we better so and
- 10:39Speaker 1: I'm getting over the same cold, mister Henry's getting over,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and we all are getting over. So yeah, we've all
- 10:43Speaker 1: had it. Yeah, so I would start to panic. And
- 10:48Speaker 1: when we'd say it's got to be overnight, and well,
- 10:52Speaker 1: they would say it to you. Yeah, I'm sorry, I've said.
- 10:55Speaker 1: They'd say it's got to be overnight, overnight delivery, and
- 10:57Speaker 1: all of a sudden, the pressure's on, you know. Whereas
- 11:00Speaker 1: before we'd say okay, like we mailed out a lot
- 11:03Speaker 1: of stuff at Christmas we mailed that dolls, the baby dolls,
- 11:07Speaker 1: and the different kinds of dolls, you know, and yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 1: like toy dolls for little girls. Yeah, yeah, exactly. We
- 11:14Speaker 1: also mailed out ceramic figurines. Those are kind of tough
- 11:17Speaker 1: because those have to be packed just just so and
- 11:19Speaker 1: just right. They have to be packed very sweetly and nicely.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's always like if you pack a ceramic like an
- 11:24Speaker 1: angel or. We had these ceramic imps and ceramic pixies.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And we don't mean ceramic pixies, man, I mean, who
- 11:30Speaker 1: buys those? A lot of old ladies. I mean, I
- 11:33Speaker 1: don't mean I'm I don't mean to talk down old,
- 11:35Speaker 1: but a lot of old ladies love to buy the
- 11:36Speaker 1: ceramic pixie just that's the way it was. I mean.
- 11:39Speaker 1: And they what they do is they collect them. Yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 1: a lot of these women and men too collect these things.
- 11:44Speaker 1: We mean men too. What do you mean pixies? They've
- 11:46Speaker 1: got other things, different kinds of figurines, don't they.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Well?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean they had like a Henry eight to one,
- 11:52Speaker 1: and they had Henry eight who Henry the eighth? Oh,
- 11:56Speaker 1: oh yeah, they had Henry the eighth. Then they had like,
- 11:59Speaker 1: I don't know, like an night and stuff. But a
- 12:01Speaker 1: lot of them are pixies or imps or elves, and
- 12:04Speaker 1: they're all made out of ceramic. And sometimes the elf
- 12:05Speaker 1: will be like in a little dancing pose. Well, if
- 12:09Speaker 1: an elf is in a dancing pose, he's already got
- 12:11Speaker 1: the pointed nose, and he's got long, slender fingers, and
- 12:14Speaker 1: then he's got one leg up. Everything is just sticking
- 12:17Speaker 1: out on an elf. Okay, what does that mean? What
- 12:20Speaker 1: I'm what do you mean? What does it mean?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Jesus tease being? You see you're doing exactly you tell
- 12:26Speaker 3: us not to do.
- 12:26Speaker 1: General all right, I'm pulling around. Are you talking about
- 12:30Speaker 1: how the elf has an don't don't even go there.
- 12:34Speaker 1: So anyway, if the truth be told, yeah, I saw
- 12:38Speaker 1: we packed out. There was one week we packed out
- 12:40Speaker 1: five or six of these ceramic elves. And I remember
- 12:43Speaker 1: I commented to the owner of the company who I met,
- 12:45Speaker 1: mister Bergman and his wife. I met them at the
- 12:47Speaker 1: Christmas party, and I said, Spurma, you don't know me.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm nervous thinking about it. My name is Stephen Boseel, Sir,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and I want you to know that we packed out
- 12:58Speaker 1: fifteen of the pixie elves the Christmas Pixie elf and
- 13:01Speaker 1: he goes yeah. And I said, sir, I know just
- 13:05Speaker 1: that the pant the pants in the slack area. And
- 13:08Speaker 1: I said, can I speak to you away from your
- 13:10Speaker 1: wife for a moment and he goes, yeah, sure. And
- 13:12Speaker 1: so his wife went off and she danced to the
- 13:13Speaker 1: boogloo or whatever they were dancing. What do you mean
- 13:16Speaker 1: the boogoloo? It was some they had some R and
- 13:19Speaker 1: B band uh and and I said, I had to
- 13:22Speaker 1: tell you, sir, if you look at the pant what
- 13:25Speaker 1: the elf is wearing what looked to me like cargo shorts.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And it's got a stiff, you know. And I said,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it has a stiff. I said, I was going to
- 13:32Speaker 1: say dick, and then I stopped myself. I said, it's
- 13:34Speaker 1: got a stiff, dick, dickpitness and he kind of laughed.
- 13:37Speaker 1: He goes, you're kidding. I go if you see He goes, no,
- 13:39Speaker 1: that's a crease in the shorts. I said, okay, let
- 13:42Speaker 1: me let me ask you something, Steve, because you've always
- 13:45Speaker 1: got some story that is uh and you're always ready
- 13:47Speaker 1: to put me down for the things that I feel. No, no, no, no,
- 13:49Speaker 1: hold on, you just told me that the Pixie ceramic
- 13:53Speaker 1: Pixie that you mailed out had on cargo shorts. Yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 1: he said that. Yeah, what about it? I'm sure what
- 13:59Speaker 1: what you talking about? Me?
- 14:00Speaker 3: I don't think're gonna put it in a ceramic Yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 1: It's a ceramic design, all right. I don't know if
- 14:08Speaker 1: they were a cargo They looked like cargo shorts to me.
- 14:10Speaker 1: They looked like they had, you know, uh pockets and everything.
- 14:14Speaker 1: They might have just been pixie uh whatever, they were
- 14:17Speaker 1: pixie tights. There's a big difference between pixie tights and
- 14:20Speaker 1: cargo shorts. Oh really want to tell me all about it?
- 14:24Speaker 1: General Chop, Yeah, I got you in that one. General,
- 14:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you really got me on that one. Never mind, Steve,
- 14:29Speaker 1: all right, So, uh, you got to be extra careful
- 14:33Speaker 1: because they have their their hands are out and they're
- 14:35Speaker 1: dancing and they're waving. It's as if they're skipping and
- 14:37Speaker 1: gleefully through the night. So it's easy to break off
- 14:41Speaker 1: a hand, it's easy to break off a leg. You
- 14:43Speaker 1: can even snap the head off. So we were packing
- 14:45Speaker 1: in one night. We had an order, we had a
- 14:47Speaker 1: quick overnight order for five of these of these Pixies,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and they were all going to the same lady. I'll
- 14:52Speaker 1: never forget. Her name was missus Tarmula was the name,
- 14:55Speaker 1: and I don't think I'm given a way anything. She
- 14:57Speaker 1: lived in Philadelphia and we were working at a car in
- 14:59Speaker 1: a a warehouse Knoxville, Tennessee. So we needed to pack
- 15:03Speaker 1: these in and pack them out and get them sweet
- 15:05Speaker 1: and you know, sweeten them up and get them on
- 15:07Speaker 1: their way because they had to be overnight to where
- 15:10Speaker 1: she was living philadelph Did I say philadep I forgot
- 15:12Speaker 1: what I said, Yeah, And uh, sure enough. I'm rushing around.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I'm going, okay, God, you know, because I felt my
- 15:19Speaker 1: hands started to sweat, and no, you're probably making all
- 15:22Speaker 1: the guys you're working with the nervous too. They were nervous.
- 15:24Speaker 1: To know. I didn't make them nervous. They were making
- 15:26Speaker 1: me nervous. They're going to come on, Bozelle, come on,
- 15:28Speaker 1: come on, come on, you know, yelling at me, and
- 15:30Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm going as fast as you know they're going.
- 15:32Speaker 1: We got to get it. You know, they're saying, we
- 15:33Speaker 1: got to get overnight. I go, okay, all overnight and
- 15:36Speaker 1: all overnight and all overnight of God, damn you to
- 15:39Speaker 1: hell and that's when they pulled me off the line
- 15:42Speaker 1: because of why, because I've just I broke down. I said,
- 15:44Speaker 1: goddamn all of you to hell. I hope you all burned.
- 15:47Speaker 1: They pulled me off the line and they said, go home,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and you know, you know, just take you know, just
- 15:53Speaker 1: take a chill, go home, reflect on what you've done
- 15:56Speaker 1: and reflect on what That's what they said. Yeah, that's
- 15:58Speaker 1: what they said. So I went home and I come
- 16:02Speaker 1: back the next day refreshed. I felt, you know good,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I felt as if I'd been fully renewed. I go
- 16:10Speaker 1: back down to the warehouse. Well, what do you know,
- 16:12Speaker 1: the old ladies ordered six more. So just like the
- 16:15Speaker 1: day before when they packed out six elves, she got
- 16:17Speaker 1: six more I mean pixies. I should say, yea. I
- 16:19Speaker 1: was gonna say, what is this a pixie or an elf?
- 16:21Speaker 1: But it's no difference. But it was the ceramic voilure
- 16:26Speaker 1: pixie by the artist Sigmund Boilur. He's like an Argentinian
- 16:31Speaker 1: or something. And it was the voiler Pixie, is what
- 16:35Speaker 1: it was called. And you can get the six you
- 16:37Speaker 1: can get a set of six or a set of
- 16:39Speaker 1: twelve pixies that can dance through the night. That was
- 16:42Speaker 1: the advertising copy, you can get a set of pixies
- 16:45Speaker 1: that dance to the night. Well I don't. It was
- 16:47Speaker 1: probably some sort of a magical Christmas message. Yeah, something
- 16:51Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, get your set of pixies. They'll dance
- 16:53Speaker 1: through the night. That's all I remember. So they put
- 16:56Speaker 1: me back on. They go, this's another overnight, and I'm nervous.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I'm going, oh, man, I just so, I've been moving around,
- 17:02Speaker 1: moving around. I'm trying. I'm trying to keep it together
- 17:04Speaker 1: because I knew they sent me home and I saw
- 17:06Speaker 1: out of the corner my eye, Bill Vexa, who is
- 17:09Speaker 1: a friend of mine, he dropped the pixie. And once
- 17:11Speaker 1: he dropped the pixie, I think that gave me the
- 17:12Speaker 1: psychological you know, it gave me the psychological subconscious permission
- 17:17Speaker 1: to also. I dropped one and the head flew off,
- 17:21Speaker 1: and I got so frustrated, because you got to understand,
- 17:24Speaker 1: I wanted to do it so good. Bill drops. When
- 17:27Speaker 1: I dropped one, the head comes off. I'm looking at
- 17:28Speaker 1: a pixie head and this little dancing body, and I
- 17:30Speaker 1: just God forgive me for this, but I just stomped
- 17:33Speaker 1: on it, and I stomped on me. Take it easy.
- 17:37Speaker 1: See you want some water? No, I just crushed it
- 17:40Speaker 1: and crushed it and crushed it.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Well, I mean you were you were angry at being
- 17:45Speaker 3: forced in that position.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I was, yeah, but there was something very wrong about
- 17:49Speaker 1: me just looking at it and going, God, I want
- 17:50Speaker 1: to crush it. Well I can tell just looking at
- 17:53Speaker 1: your face. Yeah, the the memory is coming back. Yeah,
- 17:56Speaker 1: and I just went got killing a cort. Get up, Steve,
- 18:00Speaker 1: what's wrong? Just get up and take a walk. You
- 18:02Speaker 1: gotta take a walk. You getting I mean, there's the
- 18:06Speaker 1: Steeples L Show, and we'll be right back here the
- 18:09Speaker 1: Steeples LL Show here on the world famous Phil Henry Show.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Steve O's L Show. I'm just
- 18:19Speaker 1: thinking about that, you know. I hear people talking bad
- 18:26Speaker 1: about the way they have to live here in this country,
- 18:32Speaker 1: harping on the wars we fight, crapping back the way
- 18:36Speaker 1: thing I'll be. I don't mind them switching side, standing
- 18:43Speaker 1: up for things that they believe in when they're running
- 18:48Speaker 1: down our country man walking on the fighting sad of me? Yeah, yeah,
- 18:55Speaker 1: walking on the bat who said of me? Running down
- 19:01Speaker 1: the way of life? Our fighting men have fought and died.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Jeep and pixies. If you don't love it, leave it.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Let the song that I'm singing be warning. When you're
- 19:15Speaker 1: running down a country house, you're walking on the fighting
- 19:20Speaker 1: side of me. Pretty scary, Steve. I'm not saying you
- 19:26Speaker 1: just pissed off as I had a pixie. I crush
- 19:29Speaker 1: the pixies. You're not scared of that, Okay. I write
- 19:33Speaker 1: about some squirrely guy who claims that he just don't
- 19:37Speaker 1: believe in fighting. I wonder just how long the rest
- 19:43Speaker 1: of us can count on being free. They love our
- 19:49Speaker 1: milk and honey, but they preach about some other way
- 19:53Speaker 1: of living. When they're running down a countryman, they're walking
- 19:59Speaker 1: on fight inside of me. Ye're walking on the fat
- 20:05Speaker 1: inside of me. I took a pixie late one night.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I crushed it in the warehouse neath my feet. If
- 20:16Speaker 1: you don't love the pixie, you leave it. Let this
- 20:19Speaker 1: song that I'm singing be a warning. When you're running
- 20:24Speaker 1: down those pixies. God, I hate it. A fight on
- 20:29Speaker 1: the fighting side of me? Yeah, forgot where I walk
- 20:31Speaker 1: walking on the bating side of me, running down ceramic pixies.
- 20:39Speaker 1: All they want is to be put in a box
- 20:41Speaker 1: and keptf You don't love it. Believe it. Let this
- 20:47Speaker 1: song that I'm singing be a warning when you're running
- 20:52Speaker 1: down that pixel. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're walking on the
- 20:56Speaker 1: fighting side of me. The pixie. Well, that's that was
- 20:59Speaker 1: the nature of my n nice one. Thank you. Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 1: I just couldn't. You couldn't take it. I couldn't take
- 21:08Speaker 1: it no more, just couldn't. Steve Bozil here, I want
- 21:11Speaker 1: to get on a phone now, good friend of mine
- 21:13Speaker 1: actually worked in the warehouse with him back in the day.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Reg Wilbon on the phone here with me from Knoxville. Reg,
- 21:22Speaker 1: how you been been a few years?
- 21:23Speaker 4: Huh, Yes, that's a couple of years, do you?
- 21:26Speaker 1: And Regg? You and I worked together there at at
- 21:29Speaker 1: the motion warehouse that one Christmas time, remember, will you? Yeah?
- 21:36Speaker 1: And that was when you and I were working in
- 21:39Speaker 1: the warehouse and I was just telling the folks here
- 21:42Speaker 1: talking to on his on this podcast about how you
- 21:46Speaker 1: know it was a high pressured job.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it was very high pressure because we had to
- 21:52Speaker 2: get all those of picks.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Because I recall now with what we call the winner
- 21:58Speaker 4: of the Pixie.
- 21:59Speaker 1: There's that again, the winner by the way, there's a
- 22:01Speaker 1: general shaw mister, Well, bond.
- 22:02Speaker 2: How are you, Yeah, how are you doing general?
- 22:05Speaker 1: Yeah? Is it always called the Winter of the Pixie.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Yeah, we called that the Winter of the Pixie because
- 22:10Speaker 4: we had so many picks related. Uh you know there
- 22:14Speaker 4: we had a delivery problems.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we had a lot of delivery problems, and there
- 22:18Speaker 1: were a lot of guys who were out sick.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Well, there was a lot of psychological accountling that was needed.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Uh wait, wait a minute, you're saying you needed psychological counseling.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I'm not saying I did, no, but I mean there
- 22:28Speaker 1: were a lot of people there.
- 22:30Speaker 4: Yeah, there were quite a few working at the motion warehouse.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Because they had these very very beautiful pixies and l
- 22:42Speaker 4: you know that they wanted to have them packed us right.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Yeah, we had to pack these just right. Otherwise they'd
- 22:47Speaker 1: send them back and say, man, you they would humiliate you.
- 22:51Speaker 1: What would they say, Well, I mean they would say,
- 22:52Speaker 1: like red you remember, uh, they.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Say, if you can't put that pixie so we can
- 22:58Speaker 4: be assured the fact that that facey's going to delivered
- 23:01Speaker 4: in a cute in the it'll still look cute, you know.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Because they wanted they were very keen on making sure
- 23:07Speaker 4: the presentation once you opened up the box, you know, uh.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Uh yeah, the presentation of Pixie.
- 23:14Speaker 1: What's that you talking about the presentation of Pixie.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Yeah, the presentation of Pixie had to look good.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yeah. They wanted everything to look sweet and cute. And
- 23:21Speaker 1: and so now comes that day and I think, reg
- 23:25Speaker 1: you remember when Davey he dropped that Pixie.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Yeah, as soon as he dropped that Pixy that day,
- 23:30Speaker 4: I knew that life had I don't want to sound dramatic,
- 23:33Speaker 4: but I knew that life as we understood it had tanged.
- 23:37Speaker 1: What do you think life as you understood it?
- 23:39Speaker 4: I mean the basic facts of life as we are,
- 23:43Speaker 4: not just where we were working, but how we perceived
- 23:47Speaker 4: the universe around us.
- 23:48Speaker 2: You know, as Steve he went home.
- 23:50Speaker 4: You remember that field Steep.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Yeah, there there was a field behind the warehouse. And
- 23:54Speaker 1: when we dropped the first Pixie, and I knew, now
- 23:56Speaker 1: we were under a lot of pressure and we had
- 23:57Speaker 1: to get Pixie. We had to get what we called
- 24:00Speaker 1: that the Pixie overdrive, which meant we had to make
- 24:02Speaker 1: sure we had to double up the Pixie delivery. A
- 24:05Speaker 1: lot of people don't know we're hold on for just
- 24:07Speaker 1: a bit of both of you gentlemen. A lot of
- 24:08Speaker 1: people don't know what we're talking. We're talking about Steve
- 24:10Speaker 1: Bozella when he was a kid working in a warehouse
- 24:12Speaker 1: delivering these ceramic pixies for Christmas. Now you're in pixie overdrive.
- 24:17Speaker 1: It's called pissy overdrive, right, And we went into pixie overdrive.
- 24:22Speaker 1: And I'm all like, okay, you know, I mean whatever,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you know, I do whatever I have to do.
- 24:26Speaker 2: See, Steve still gets kind of emotional about it.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Well, I'm not not bad emotional.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it sounds like you're about to cry.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it sounds like you're about to ball.
- 24:34Speaker 4: But so what happened that he dropped that one pixie
- 24:37Speaker 4: that Dave Oberfure dropped it? And I said, man. And
- 24:42Speaker 4: so Steve walked out of the warehouse into a field
- 24:45Speaker 4: and I just still remember seeing him.
- 24:47Speaker 2: There were a lot of high weeds, and there.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Were those high pussy willows and sunflowers, and I saw
- 24:53Speaker 4: Steve's head and chest above them, wandering back deep into
- 24:56Speaker 4: the field.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Yeah, And I was thinking, and I asked him, I said.
- 25:00Speaker 2: What do you what are you doing? He said, I was.
- 25:02Speaker 4: I was contemplating, you know what, what what was going on?
- 25:05Speaker 2: You know what? What.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I was just thinking about how could life go
- 25:08Speaker 1: this wrong? You know? Wait, man, man, what what what
- 25:10Speaker 1: went wrong?
- 25:12Speaker 2: They got? Steve was just crushed the pixie?
- 25:15Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, because right after that I told you you
- 25:18Speaker 1: said you stepped on a pixie.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it was more than that.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Once over fewer dropped that one pixie and Steve felt
- 25:25Speaker 4: the pressure.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Then he crushed one.
- 25:27Speaker 4: He crushed it and he kept on kicking and crushing.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We had to pull him off of it, you.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Know, he pulled him off it. Man.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I was a little tiny ceratic tixie.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Yeah, he was all over it. So he was all
- 25:36Speaker 4: over it like white on rice.
- 25:38Speaker 1: And oh man, I know it's a bad memory. And
- 25:42Speaker 1: thanks a lot for bringing it up. Guys. Hey, look, Steve,
- 25:44Speaker 1: we're just trying to figure out what you're talking about now.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Now you're telling you a major psychological snap it was.
- 25:50Speaker 2: It was what would you say.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Steve, I needed to take a week off because I
- 25:55Speaker 1: just crushed it and crushed it.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:57Speaker 4: See that's exactly I heard him the way here that
- 26:00Speaker 4: night and the way he looked and he looked up
- 26:03Speaker 4: at me. I said, Steve, snap out of it, man,
- 26:06Speaker 4: I said, Steve, it's I said It's just a pixie.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Man.
- 26:08Speaker 4: You remember in the movie It's a Chinatown Jake, the
- 26:10Speaker 4: same thing. He said, Steve, it's just a pixie.
- 26:13Speaker 2: And he looked up at me.
- 26:14Speaker 4: He had fire, both sides, bright red like his only smaller.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and so I were you fired? I was fire
- 26:22Speaker 1: eventually fired. Yeah. I didn't want fired after that job.
- 26:24Speaker 1: But that's what I'm saying. And what I was talking about,
- 26:27Speaker 1: reg was the idea of these overnight houses.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Overnight and yeah, when you order something and you want
- 26:34Speaker 4: to deliver the next day, that's good for you, Good
- 26:37Speaker 4: for you.
- 26:37Speaker 2: You ought to do that.
- 26:38Speaker 4: But just remember there's a price to pay on the
- 26:41Speaker 4: other end. And there's some guy of warehouse who suddenly
- 26:44Speaker 4: feels I better get this going. I've got to do it.
- 26:47Speaker 4: I got to do it. I got to do it.
- 26:48Speaker 4: And pretty soon his his nerves are worn thin and
- 26:52Speaker 4: he is ready to just tear, tear, tear, throw that
- 26:55Speaker 4: place into the street.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Basically, that's what I said to And I said that
- 26:59Speaker 1: to Earl Boscock, who was the foreman. I said, I'm
- 27:01Speaker 1: gonna throw this place into the street.
- 27:03Speaker 4: That's right, that's what he said.
- 27:04Speaker 1: You were gonna throw that place into the street. Huh, yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: what is that unusual?
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:10Speaker 1: I mean you're coming off off with hard ass here tonight,
- 27:12Speaker 1: Steve see wrench. We know Steve is a really nice guy.
- 27:16Speaker 1: He's got a family, he's got a good job.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Oh Steve, this is a nice guy. He's a very
- 27:19Speaker 4: nice guy. But back in these times he had I
- 27:25Speaker 4: don't know, very violent.
- 27:27Speaker 2: It was very very violent.
- 27:28Speaker 1: We like, do you attack people? Now?
- 27:30Speaker 4: Come on, No, I don't remember him ever attacking. But
- 27:34Speaker 4: you were, Stevie. You have to see you were violent
- 27:35Speaker 4: enough working in that warehouse.
- 27:37Speaker 2: You remember the panda.
- 27:39Speaker 4: This was a panda that they were celebrating China giving
- 27:43Speaker 4: a panda the nationals who and Steve one night slipped
- 27:46Speaker 4: the throats And I say that figuratively, but he slipped
- 27:49Speaker 4: the throat of slick the seventies.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Panda slit the throats I had.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Yeah, he had one of those raises you know that
- 27:58Speaker 4: we used for packing. And he just said, he just said, man,
- 28:02Speaker 4: I gotta do it, I gotta do it. And I
- 28:05Speaker 4: just he's cutting these pan It's stuff. It's a stuff
- 28:07Speaker 4: pan all. It came out with.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Stuffing, you know, And what did you guys do?
- 28:12Speaker 4: We just stood We lived, and we called, uh mister
- 28:15Speaker 4: Bostock who was a foreman, and they come down and
- 28:18Speaker 4: they basically put a bag over Steve's head and dragged
- 28:20Speaker 4: him out off into an alley someplace.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:23Speaker 1: They they bagged my head and took me back into
- 28:25Speaker 1: an alley and just started kicking until I just I stopped.
- 28:28Speaker 1: They dragged you into an alley. What's with the bag, Bobby,
- 28:31Speaker 1: like trying to suffocate you or something?
- 28:34Speaker 2: Just so he calmed down.
- 28:36Speaker 4: And see all he's doing is breathing carbon dioxide.
- 28:38Speaker 1: You know, I had no idea. Yeah, I mean it
- 28:41Speaker 1: was back in the day when oh Man. Anyway, reg
- 28:46Speaker 1: thanks for.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you will.
- 28:48Speaker 4: I was trying to be honest, you know.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks a lot for that. That's rech uh oh Man.
- 28:54Speaker 1: That uh all we was talking about is working the
- 28:57Speaker 1: overnight or excuse me, working the wears where you get
- 29:00Speaker 1: these rush orders and how much pressure you put people
- 29:03Speaker 1: under when you do it overnight order. And now we're
- 29:06Speaker 1: talking about me back in the day at the motion
- 29:08Speaker 1: warehouse slitting the throats of these stuffed pantas.
- 29:11Speaker 3: God damn man, I mean sounds very serious.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Mister Bozel, Well, thanks for getting my name right. Anyway, Well,
- 29:16Speaker 1: it does sound serious. And what caused you to calm down? Well,
- 29:21Speaker 1: I mean what caused me to calm down was I
- 29:23Speaker 1: just got the hell out of there, and I you know,
- 29:27Speaker 1: then I got married, and I said, I got to
- 29:28Speaker 1: get out of here. You know, that's why you come
- 29:31Speaker 1: to California. That's why I came to California. Yeah, so
- 29:34Speaker 1: I left there. I was a warehouse guy making probably
- 29:37Speaker 1: at that time, was making about eight bucks an hour.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I immediately got married, started my own business and moved
- 29:42Speaker 1: to California. Well that boy, that how long did that take?
- 29:45Speaker 1: About two weeks get out of here? I mean it
- 29:49Speaker 1: seemed like it, because that's how fast everything was going
- 29:52Speaker 1: for me. Well, folks, that's that's about it for me
- 29:55Speaker 1: here on the Phill Nry Show. My name is Steve Bozell,
- 29:58Speaker 1: and I'm very grateful any time Henry asked me to
- 30:00Speaker 1: step in. He did want to hear the story about
- 30:04Speaker 1: you know, about that take it easy, about how I
- 30:08Speaker 1: worked the in a warehouse delivery and during a during
- 30:13Speaker 1: the summertime, you know, back in Knoxville, and I just
- 30:16Speaker 1: thank god I survived. M Yeah, we're glad you're here too,
- 30:20Speaker 1: mister Bose. You just said Bozeman. No, I said, mister bows.
- 30:24Speaker 3: And I'm trying to think of how to pronounce it.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Bozel. What's the problem with you anyway, Dickman? Okay, Bozell, thanks,
- 30:31Speaker 1: but as we'll call me Bozeman if you want, Okay,
- 30:33Speaker 1: not really. How much of this stuff April's gonna proub with?
- 30:38Speaker 1: I mean I do. I've always told Abel, you know,
- 30:41Speaker 1: you gotta watch out, because I just may believe some
- 30:44Speaker 1: day about a time I get to Phoenix, April will
- 30:50Speaker 1: be rising. She'll be making breakfast for the kids and
- 30:59Speaker 1: find a note on her door. She'll finish pressing April
- 31:09Speaker 1: Junior and putting more milk and butter in Steve Junior's
- 31:13Speaker 1: hold meal. And then she'll laugh hysterically at the notion
- 31:19Speaker 1: that I would ever have the guts to leave her
- 31:24Speaker 1: shit what Steve has started this. By a time I'm
- 31:30Speaker 1: ake Aalbuquerque, she'll be grocery shopping. She'll probably stop at lunch,
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah and give me a cold and yes, all into
- 31:51Speaker 1: the phone in my office. Because I didn't have the balls,
- 32:03Speaker 1: the balls to leave it all, the balls to leave
- 32:05Speaker 1: it all. That's all. By the time I make Oklahoma, now.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Mentally in ment Oklahoma, she and I will both be sleeping,
- 32:21Speaker 1: will both turned softly, staring at each other's eyes, and
- 32:25Speaker 1: I'll say, I guess I didn't leave, and she'll laugh
- 32:34Speaker 1: till the snot pours out of both nostrils. Shit, and
- 32:42Speaker 1: she'll ask me what town Mentally do I think.
- 32:45Speaker 4: I'm in Right now?
- 32:52Speaker 1: I'll say I'm in Corona, And how well you never
- 33:02Speaker 1: left Tom No, I never left him.
- 33:05Speaker 4: What is this?
- 33:06Speaker 1: By the time I get to Phoenix?
- 33:08Speaker 3: Mentally, I mean yeah, mentally he's in Phoenix.
- 33:11Speaker 1: You'll bet well famous Phil Henry is showing Second to
- 33:15Speaker 1: Prouce by Phil Henry, where Simbri incorporated all rights reserved.
- 33:18Speaker 1: On podcast one, I'm Steve Bozell. I wish I wasn't
