- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey, this is Annie and Samantha home stuff I Never
- 0:07Speaker 1: told you production of iHeart Radio. And today we have
- 0:20Speaker 1: a classic for you because we were about to restart
- 0:25Speaker 1: our Sex in the City. What, Samantha, do you know
- 0:32Speaker 1: when the last time we did this was? Because I
- 0:34Speaker 1: looked it up.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Was it the beginning of last year?
- 0:37Speaker 1: It was February twenty fifth of last year.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I thought so.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yes, And this was a fantastic episode because we did
- 0:46Speaker 1: it with a listener I'm going to say, a good
- 0:49Speaker 1: friend of the show now Jasmine, who was fantastic, A
- 0:54Speaker 1: fantastic guest. So good. Yes, and it was a really
- 0:58Speaker 1: fun one. The episode was fun. It was escaped from
- 1:01Speaker 1: New York. But because we're about to restart it, I
- 1:04Speaker 1: was like, I don't even remember. I've got to go
- 1:08Speaker 1: back myself. Yeah, so I thought it might be good
- 1:11Speaker 1: for listeners to get prepared to get ready. Yes, so
- 1:16Speaker 1: please enjoy this classic episode. Hey, this is Annie and Samantha.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Welcome to stuff I Never told your production of iHeartRadio.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Ed. Welcome to another edition of us watching Sex in
- 1:43Speaker 3: the City. Yes, this is my fiftieth time, while this
- 1:47Speaker 3: is Annie's first time.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And today it is the day we finally have done
- 1:53Speaker 2: what we have been saying we are doing.
- 1:55Speaker 3: We are with a friend of the show, slash listener
- 1:58Speaker 3: who actually decided to suffer with us and watch with us.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Jasmine. Welcome, Jasmine, Hi, thank you so much for having me.
- 2:10Speaker 3: All Right, I'm gonna give a minute or a second,
- 2:12Speaker 3: or however long you need. Can you introduce yourself to
- 2:15Speaker 3: the other listeners?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Sure? My name is Jasmine. I also go by Jay.
- 2:21Speaker 5: I've been living in New York for almost twenty years,
- 2:24Speaker 5: and I do write, and I'm hoping to write for
- 2:29Speaker 5: a living type of thing.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I love it.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yes, that means you are a writer, point blank, there's
- 2:34Speaker 3: no caveats to that. And now we have more friends
- 2:37Speaker 3: in New York. So when we come again, we can
- 2:41Speaker 3: hang with you. Right, Can we be friends in real life?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Course? Yeah, of course, I'd be so excited.
- 2:47Speaker 3: And yes, we are back, and we are actually going
- 2:49Speaker 3: to sit down to watch another episode of Sex and
- 2:53Speaker 3: the City. We are, you know, slowly catching up with
- 2:56Speaker 3: all that, Jasmine. Can you tell us your level of
- 3:00Speaker 3: Sex and the City knowledge and or maybe not all
- 3:03Speaker 3: the things?
- 3:04Speaker 4: Okay? Sure?
- 3:05Speaker 5: So I did not start watching the show until after
- 3:09Speaker 5: it aired.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I remember back in the day.
- 3:12Speaker 5: My grandmother had like TV guide and I remember seeing
- 3:16Speaker 5: like Sex and the City and I was like.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Ooh dirty.
- 3:20Speaker 5: And then when I went to college, I saw one
- 3:24Speaker 5: episode of Sex and the City and I won't say
- 3:27Speaker 5: which one it was, but it kind of solidified my
- 3:29Speaker 5: choice of living in New York. And then I moved
- 3:33Speaker 5: to New York and didn't really watch the show. I
- 3:36Speaker 5: kind of caught the reruns on the CW, and then
- 3:41Speaker 5: I caught reruns on E They had like a Ladies
- 3:44Speaker 5: Who Lunch, Ladies Who Lunch marathon, and then it wasn't
- 3:49Speaker 5: until a couple of years later I actually decided I said, hey,
- 3:54Speaker 5: I have HBO.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Let me watch the show from the beginning to the end.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:58Speaker 5: Also, for some reason, I watched season six before because
- 4:02Speaker 5: like the library had the DVDs of season six and
- 4:06Speaker 5: only season six, and then I watched both of the movies,
- 4:10Speaker 5: So I watched season six and the movies before I
- 4:13Speaker 5: watched the whole thing. So I didn't actually start watching
- 4:16Speaker 5: the show until in this entirety, until twenty seventeen. And
- 4:21Speaker 5: then I was like, oh, this is great, especially because
- 4:25Speaker 5: like on regular TV, they censor so much stuff. And
- 4:29Speaker 5: I was like oh, okay, I see And then.
- 4:33Speaker 4: And then I got on to Reddit and just I.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Was like, oh, I found my people were just just
- 4:39Speaker 5: talking about the show and things like that.
- 4:42Speaker 4: And then.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Last year I discovered this woman actually had a sub
- 4:47Speaker 5: stack where she answers all of Carrie's questions in her
- 4:52Speaker 5: column and it's very popular. Unfortunately, she doesn't write very often,
- 5:00Speaker 5: and so I thought, oh, let me, let me do
- 5:02Speaker 5: the same thing, but like from the perspective of a
- 5:04Speaker 5: black woman, and so I have a substack without sex
- 5:09Speaker 5: and city. I'm trying to have it come out like
- 5:11Speaker 5: once a week to be like more consistent. I'd actually
- 5:15Speaker 5: just finished. I just published one like this morning. I'm
- 5:19Speaker 5: only like four episodes in and so it's like, this
- 5:22Speaker 5: is going to be very exciting because there's there's so
- 5:23Speaker 5: many episodes, and then there's the movies and then there's
- 5:26Speaker 5: the reboot. Yeah, so I have a lot of material.
- 5:28Speaker 4: To work with.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Oh I love that so so much. I love that
- 5:32Speaker 3: perspective so much. So we are definitely calling you the
- 5:35Speaker 3: resident expert for some fie never told you, because I
- 5:40Speaker 3: knew this as a hobby and you are answering the
- 5:43Speaker 3: questions that well.
- 5:45Speaker 2: It needs no answers. Do we ever really get an
- 5:47Speaker 2: answer from Carrie?
- 5:48Speaker 3: No, she just leaves it from the air and a
- 5:50Speaker 3: lot of like lingering, like why would you do this
- 5:52Speaker 3: to yourself Carrie type of movement.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Yes, right, all right, Well with that.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I did need to ask this because I didn't send
- 6:00Speaker 3: you a quiz I should have. I'm really ill prepared.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I've come ill prepared. But which character would you say
- 6:05Speaker 3: you would be most like in Sexificity?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Oh?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Man, I know I had to pop up on you
- 6:12Speaker 2: in that one. Sorry, Sorry, I.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Just it's so funny.
- 6:16Speaker 5: I just answered that question on the subriddit yesterday, but
- 6:25Speaker 5: I kind of answered all four.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh.
- 6:29Speaker 4: I feel like I'm.
- 6:30Speaker 5: Most like Samantha in the sense of Samantha doesn't really
- 6:35Speaker 5: care too much about gender roles, and she she sees something,
- 6:42Speaker 5: and she goes after what she wants, and she's not
- 6:44Speaker 5: afraid about going after and she's not ashamed of it,
- 6:47Speaker 5: even if what she's after is a married man. You know,
- 6:52Speaker 5: she's she's not afraid of taking risks. And I feel
- 6:55Speaker 5: like the older I get, the more I'm very much
- 6:58Speaker 5: like Yeah, if I see some thing like more so
- 7:01Speaker 5: pertaining to like career goals, and things like that.
- 7:05Speaker 4: I'm not like afraid of going after it.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Ah, love that, love that so very much. Well, we
- 7:12Speaker 3: are very glad to have you on. And as tradition
- 7:15Speaker 3: for a happy hour, first and foremost, if anybody is partaking,
- 7:20Speaker 3: please do so responsibly. All the things we're talking about
- 7:23Speaker 3: are not current sponsors. Things can change, who knows. But
- 7:28Speaker 3: with that, I have to ask, ladies, Annie, are you
- 7:31Speaker 3: slipping on anything right now?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yes? It's Galentine's Day as we record this.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, oh yes, so I have.
- 7:40Speaker 1: My red wine. Yes coming.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I love this.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Valentine's Day, the beginning of.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Our friendship, Jay is Gallantine's Day. We're putting this as
- 7:51Speaker 3: a big marker. Okay, this is going to be our
- 7:54Speaker 3: friend aniversary too. What about you, Jay?
- 7:57Speaker 2: What do you drink it? Can I call you?
- 7:58Speaker 1: Jay?
- 7:58Speaker 2: I just realized you we said a lot of people do.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I just immediately did it without permission, So I apologize.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Jay is fine.
- 8:04Speaker 5: I'm currently sipping on a traditional medicinal throat coat.
- 8:09Speaker 4: It's like tea. Yeah, yes, I was like, ye, yes, yeah.
- 8:17Speaker 3: You're so more professional than us. Typically I drink that
- 8:20Speaker 3: with the satrone. I've really really started digging, digging, Satrone
- 8:24Speaker 3: with the throat coat. It's nice at it just just
- 8:28Speaker 3: a you know, Asian tip on that one. But for myself,
- 8:31Speaker 3: I'm just drinking some bubbly water because once again I
- 8:36Speaker 3: am also a responsible, not sleepy individual, because wine makes
- 8:41Speaker 3: me sleepy. Now, all that the drinks may measly be
- 8:43Speaker 3: except for apparently water. And with that, Annie, I'm gonna
- 8:49Speaker 3: give you the chance. Can you give us a review
- 8:51Speaker 3: of what has happened in season three thus far?
- 8:54Speaker 1: This is so much easier than the last because we
- 8:57Speaker 1: literally just recorded this like two days ago. So this
- 9:03Speaker 1: has been a whole season where Carrie is with what
- 9:07Speaker 1: it seems like a healthy relationship with Aiden, but is
- 9:11Speaker 1: back with her ex Big who is married to Natasha,
- 9:17Speaker 1: and so she's cheating on Aiden. Pushed Natasha down the stairs,
- 9:22Speaker 1: kind of accidentally sent her to the hospital and now
- 9:26Speaker 1: I'm The most recent episode revealed what she had done
- 9:30Speaker 1: to Aiden at one of her best friend's weddings, and
- 9:35Speaker 1: he is like, I am done. So that's where we
- 9:39Speaker 1: are with her. Charlotte said, best friend just got married
- 9:43Speaker 1: to Trey after learning that maybe sexually they might not
- 9:48Speaker 1: be compatible. We'll see she did get married. Miranda broke
- 9:55Speaker 1: up with Steve, who it sounded like they were happy
- 10:00Speaker 1: to get there, but it didn't work out. And then
- 10:03Speaker 1: in the most recent episode, she realized that a lot
- 10:06Speaker 1: of men didn't want to date her because she's like
- 10:08Speaker 1: a powerful lawyer, I guess, and they felt intimidated by it.
- 10:12Speaker 1: And then, as I always say, Samantha was doing hers
- 10:21Speaker 1: the kind of she has like a one off in
- 10:24Speaker 1: every episode She's got something different going on.
- 10:27Speaker 3: But yes, you also have one more prediction, which is
- 10:31Speaker 3: either a brunch or club?
- 10:33Speaker 2: Which one is?
- 10:34Speaker 1: I keep messing this up. I've really lost my game
- 10:36Speaker 1: on this one. I'm going to say. I'm gonna say
- 10:41Speaker 1: club club. Okay, I feel like brunches slit me down
- 10:44Speaker 1: the past few times.
- 10:45Speaker 2: All Right, all right, I like it. I like it.
- 10:47Speaker 3: There is the correction. Carrie did not push Natasha. Natasha
- 10:51Speaker 3: was She's not that vindictive, Like there.
- 10:58Speaker 2: No need to push anybody, shets d.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I people think that we are like we are advocating
- 11:06Speaker 3: for pushing of the other.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Don't do this with.
- 11:09Speaker 3: That, Jay, do you have any ads that you can
- 11:12Speaker 3: think of before before we talk about Annie's predictions?
- 11:17Speaker 2: Not at the moment, Okay, I like and Annie did
- 11:20Speaker 2: a good job.
- 11:20Speaker 3: She does really all we did just recently watch the
- 11:23Speaker 3: other episode, so she is a little more familiar and
- 11:27Speaker 3: ready for that part. Okay, Annie, So with this episode title,
- 11:32Speaker 3: are you ready for it? Which is Season three, episode thirteen,
- 11:36Speaker 3: Escape from New York, do you have any predictions?
- 11:40Speaker 1: Oh?
- 11:40Speaker 3: Forgot you added the brunch thing already. I was ahead
- 11:43Speaker 3: on that one.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, Like I said in the previous episode, I'm
- 11:52Speaker 1: pretty sure there it's like Charlotte's Honeymoon. They're gonna leave
- 11:58Speaker 1: obviously New York. That's all a movie that I haven't seen.
- 12:01Speaker 1: So I feel like there's probably a reference I could
- 12:05Speaker 1: get if I had seen that movie. Yeah, but I haven't.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna say, we've got a broken up
- 12:18Speaker 1: Carrie who's like the pieces of her life. We've got
- 12:21Speaker 1: Charlotte's just married. They're going to travel somewhere. That's what
- 12:27Speaker 1: I think. That's it, all right.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I'm not giving you points for traveling somewhere. That is.
- 12:31Speaker 3: That is not adding no man with the ports day, No, ma'am,
- 12:38Speaker 3: that does not count, just because I mean, I just.
- 12:43Speaker 5: I just realized that. I just realized what episode we're
- 12:47Speaker 5: about to watch, and this is literally the first episode
- 12:49Speaker 5: that I ever watched that made me realize that I
- 12:51Speaker 5: am going to move to New York. I won't say
- 12:53Speaker 5: anything else until afterwards.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Moment.
- 12:56Speaker 3: I love everything about this moment between the gallons between
- 13:00Speaker 3: you coming on and this is perfect.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I love it. Yes, well, let's see, let's jump in.
- 13:17Speaker 6: I decided it was time for a change of scenery
- 13:20Speaker 6: and I wasn't alone.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I can't believe you're all going to LA.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Without me.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Immediately brunch and he's already wrong, She's not doing it
- 13:33Speaker 2: well already.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Have you ever gone on like a breakup trip with somebody?
- 13:38Speaker 2: I have been the friend.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I had a friend where I went to a cabin.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I'm not gonna name her because never mind, but I
- 13:44Speaker 3: used to every breakup we would go somewhere.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Uh and for a while, I really love those props.
- 13:51Speaker 1: It's kind of fun.
- 13:58Speaker 6: Come on, let's get the check and go to Barney's.
- 14:00Speaker 6: I can't possibly go to Los Angeles without another pair
- 14:03Speaker 6: of shoes.
- 14:05Speaker 1: No, I go to Barney's.
- 14:07Speaker 6: You can.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I ask you, when you started watching Sex in the City,
- 14:10Speaker 3: did you start getting more into like the fashion line
- 14:12Speaker 3: or were you already probably they are or just no?
- 14:15Speaker 4: I am not a fashion person just yet.
- 14:20Speaker 5: I think it was just more so like growing up,
- 14:22Speaker 5: I was like, I'm either going to move to New
- 14:24Speaker 5: York or I'm going to move to la Oh. I
- 14:27Speaker 5: saw this episode. I said, Yep, it's New York, and
- 14:31Speaker 5: now it's like, maybe maybe the other place.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Okay, I love those.
- 14:41Speaker 6: There was supposed to be three reservations.
- 14:44Speaker 1: The production company only requested two rooms, and I'm afraid
- 14:46Speaker 1: we're all booked up.
- 14:50Speaker 4: She's from New York.
- 14:54Speaker 1: My mom definitely believed that. She's like, oh, big girls
- 14:57Speaker 1: all the.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Time, baby I got.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I was told the other day that they thought I
- 15:02Speaker 3: was from New York and I was like, why because
- 15:04Speaker 3: I have an accent and it's definitely not New York.
- 15:07Speaker 2: And I was like, is it because I curse a lot?
- 15:09Speaker 2: Maybe because I'm.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Carc a lot?
- 15:12Speaker 2: I am tie?
- 15:15Speaker 5: So what do you do when you're not working as
- 15:17Speaker 5: a one man welcome wagon?
- 15:19Speaker 4: Madildamot, You wouldn't tease a girl word in the US?
- 15:25Speaker 4: Number one in Canada, My BIG's bigger. I gotta love
- 15:28Speaker 4: that metric system.
- 15:31Speaker 3: A lot of these jokes went over my head with
- 15:33Speaker 3: that metric system.
- 15:36Speaker 2: And I was in college, so it shouldn't have.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I am tie.
- 15:47Speaker 2: So big news. I have a star interest in Guess who.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Drew Barrymore?
- 15:57Speaker 6: No, yes, I'm really not good with the celebrity names.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Oh guess.
- 16:02Speaker 5: I do this a lot where I just just just
- 16:04Speaker 5: badger people into guessing.
- 16:07Speaker 4: One time it went around for like two hours.
- 16:10Speaker 1: They never guessed.
- 16:12Speaker 2: They Matthew mcconey.
- 16:17Speaker 3: So we have Matthew McConaughey. So this was when she
- 16:21Speaker 3: when the Sarah Jusica Parker and Matthe McConaughey had a movie.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Oh Failure to Launch.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yes, and they are coming out together.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Ah, how I knew that. My brain was like somewhere.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 16:35Speaker 3: So this is our guesting game where I remember vague
- 16:38Speaker 3: details and Annie tries to get the actual names right
- 16:41Speaker 3: as she usually does, and I'm just like, yeah, that's it.
- 16:50Speaker 6: When visiting La, there are two things you simply must do.
- 16:53Speaker 6: One is right a fabulous car. Two is learn how
- 16:57Speaker 6: to drive it.
- 16:57Speaker 1: You said you drive a stick I did a couple
- 17:01Speaker 1: of times.
- 17:02Speaker 6: And parking.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Another reason why I've decided to move to New York.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I've been spoiled by the public transit system.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Yeah it's nice, Yes, it's a nice Like every time
- 17:13Speaker 3: we go, I'm like, why can't.
- 17:15Speaker 5: We Yeah, it's hard for me to imagine living other
- 17:19Speaker 5: places because I'm like, I'm going to have to drive,
- 17:21Speaker 5: like I haven't driven a car since two thousand and
- 17:24Speaker 5: eight and outside of New York.
- 17:27Speaker 4: When they asked me why, I'm like, because I live
- 17:29Speaker 4: in New York, I.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Don't need to drive right, and parking is expensive, very extensive.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Also, don't rental stick shift if you don't know how
- 17:36Speaker 3: to drive it. Well.
- 17:38Speaker 1: One time I was in France and uh, we rented
- 17:41Speaker 1: not a stick shift and they're like, oh, we have
- 17:43Speaker 1: a stick shift. And I was like, but that's not
- 17:46Speaker 1: what we rented and they're like, too bad. So guess what.
- 17:51Speaker 1: We get stuck on a hill. Everyone's mad at us
- 17:53Speaker 1: and we're like, we did it.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Screaming stupid Americans As I'm driving by.
- 17:58Speaker 1: You, very nice lady got out and helped us all
- 18:03Speaker 1: she was wonderful. If you're listening, I know you're not,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but thank you saved this.
- 18:16Speaker 3: How do we get your column to translate to the
- 18:20Speaker 3: silver screen?
- 18:20Speaker 4: And I think I've got the answer.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Now, what if we flush out essential relationship?
- 18:27Speaker 4: M This is also one of my favorite scenes.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I like his stance.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Everything about this is so like over the top.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Yes, it feels like they were like Matthew McConaughey play
- 18:38Speaker 1: Matthew McConaughey.
- 18:39Speaker 3: And exactly that's exactly what you did in Hollywood too,
- 18:42Speaker 3: Like it has to be very specific.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I mean, he is such a great guy.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know anybody any cooler than mister
- 18:49Speaker 2: big guy.
- 18:50Speaker 4: The only question really is what the is Carry's.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Problem carries obviously obviously to care I don't.
- 19:01Speaker 6: I don't particularly think it was it was just her
- 19:05Speaker 6: problem because well, I actually he had some you know,
- 19:10Speaker 6: commitment issues.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I started crying. I think I'm not stable for this
- 19:19Speaker 2: yelling at me.
- 19:20Speaker 5: I love that line so much. I say it more
- 19:23Speaker 5: times than I care to admit.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yelling.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Yes, I love my substitute for my.
- 19:31Speaker 7: Name in cit of Carry, though, but that's amazing.
- 19:49Speaker 6: I can't believe how open and high I have sexist
- 19:52Speaker 6: places in New York.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Sex is so bottom shelf paperbacks, exactly, it's all hidden
- 19:57Speaker 2: like me.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Okay, definitely a party. I think you're gonna have to
- 20:01Speaker 3: add party to your predictions, either a brunch party or club.
- 20:08Speaker 3: And party cann be like police parties because they do
- 20:10Speaker 3: a lot of book release or debut stuff.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I feel like I just say party like every time.
- 20:15Speaker 1: But we'll see, I'll workshop it.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You do that, you do that? Who cares a more vacation?
- 20:23Speaker 2: I want to get laid. I admire when you could
- 20:25Speaker 2: just put it. I'm on vacation. I want to get late.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I've too many I've seen too many movies.
- 20:30Speaker 3: You get kidnapped or at least drugs get planted on
- 20:32Speaker 3: you or something when you do stuff like that.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I've seen those movies.
- 20:35Speaker 1: That would be a dark take of Sex and the Cities.
- 20:38Speaker 1: But don't go. I have to go.
- 20:48Speaker 6: They flew me out here and they're a little writer monkey. Well,
- 20:52Speaker 6: I've got something to make you feel better.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Oh, guild.
- 21:00Speaker 4: One for each?
- 21:01Speaker 2: Why just why?
- 21:04Speaker 1: I do have a good friend who gave me a
- 21:05Speaker 1: dildo for a birthday once, and I was like, wow.
- 21:10Speaker 3: That freaks me out, Like sure, sure, sure, like vibrators
- 21:14Speaker 3: and all the such you do you the ones they
- 21:16Speaker 3: were just had, like the rabbit, you know, the infamous rabbit.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Thanks to Sex and City being huge, But like that,
- 21:22Speaker 3: that's too much. I don't need I don't need a
- 21:24Speaker 3: replica replica.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true, that's true.
- 21:34Speaker 6: Meanwhile, back in New York and still no closer to
- 21:36Speaker 6: being input by Trey, Charlotte addressed thank you notes.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Oh the sands licking up the stamps. That's a long time.
- 21:43Speaker 2: They still exist, the stamps that you have to lick.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yes, oh yes, I didn't know that. Mm hmm. I
- 21:51Speaker 1: mailed my mom a Valentine's Day card and you.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Had to lick a stamp. I have the one that's
- 21:56Speaker 2: already pretty sticky.
- 21:58Speaker 1: See that's nice.
- 22:00Speaker 2: I think, Eddie, you've bought something.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Like ancients work. They'll never get to my mom.
- 22:09Speaker 2: I'm thoroughly confused where you got things? Now?
- 22:12Speaker 1: They were in my stack of stamps.
- 22:14Speaker 3: I don't know how long have you had them, because
- 22:17Speaker 3: even in booklets there pretty sticky. Yeah, scoo, I'm not wrong, right, okay.
- 22:29Speaker 6: And far away, Charlotte was dealing with Trey's soft side
- 22:32Speaker 6: as well. She decided she was going to get some answers,
- 22:36Speaker 6: so she came to bed armed with love.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Oh I forgot the scene. I forgot the scene.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 22:47Speaker 2: She wrapped his penis.
- 22:50Speaker 6: She went to sleep, hoping her mail had sufficient postage
- 22:53Speaker 6: to deliver his package into her box.
- 22:55Speaker 3: With lickable stamps with stams, you have to lick for
- 23:00Speaker 3: that one.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Weirder that doesn't that doesn't make sense.
- 23:05Speaker 2: To everyone the way I just let that.
- 23:13Speaker 6: We weren't sure if it was the California climate or
- 23:16Speaker 6: the five lone star beer she drank.
- 23:18Speaker 1: But as soon as she got on that bowl, Miranda escaped.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Miranda.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I had a friend, and this is going to sound
- 23:25Speaker 1: really weird, but she had one of these in her home.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Didn't wait, I was already Did you say she had
- 23:33Speaker 3: one in her home? She purchased one for her home.
- 23:38Speaker 1: No, it was this is when I was young, so
- 23:40Speaker 1: she was a kid. It wasn't her that had it,
- 23:42Speaker 1: but her family had one in her home.
- 23:45Speaker 3: I mean, you are from like North Georgia, so that's true, not.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Not terribly out of context.
- 24:11Speaker 3: Okay, So any you did get the club, we're gonna
- 24:15Speaker 3: give you. Jasmine's giving you the club, so we're gonna
- 24:18Speaker 3: we're gonna give you that. You're not getting points for
- 24:20Speaker 3: the leaving New York bits.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I feel like the escape theme where I where I
- 24:25Speaker 1: stumbled was they were all trying to escape something.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Yes, specific specific, I will give you a bee. I
- 24:33Speaker 2: will give you a B plus for this one.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Yes, yes, uh you did.
- 24:39Speaker 2: You did pretty well.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Of course you were not going to find anything about
- 24:42Speaker 3: there's no way to know that there's gonna be a
- 24:44Speaker 3: whole dildo porn industry conversation here, so.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You know all that you did because you also said
- 24:52Speaker 2: that it was her.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Leaving the behind situation with Aiden and Big, so that
- 24:57Speaker 3: that was that was big ups, Jasmin.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Would you agree with mys scoring or would you change that?
- 25:02Speaker 4: I think I would go with that. I would go
- 25:04Speaker 4: with that.
- 25:05Speaker 2: All right, you have the official council giving you the
- 25:08Speaker 2: be plus counsel.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 25:14Speaker 3: This was the one episode you said that really cemented
- 25:17Speaker 3: that you wanted to move to New York.
- 25:19Speaker 2: What was it about this episode?
- 25:20Speaker 5: I think it was because I grew up thinking like, oh,
- 25:24Speaker 5: New York is very serious and LA is very like superficial,
- 25:28Speaker 5: and I feel like this this episode kind of reinforced that,
- 25:34Speaker 5: especially like the coming episodes kind of like reinforce that,
- 25:38Speaker 5: and so I said, oh, without going to either place,
- 25:41Speaker 5: I was like, oh, I'm definitely just going.
- 25:42Speaker 4: To live in New York.
- 25:44Speaker 2: And you've been there and you love it, I'm assuming
- 25:47Speaker 2: I do.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I do.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I not a fan of the cold though.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Still we talked about this already. I'm like, I don't
- 25:52Speaker 3: like cold, but yeah, I could. I could see that
- 25:55Speaker 3: because it is very different the scene that we see,
- 25:58Speaker 3: the way that people roll, the conversations that Carrie has.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Of course, I could be anywhere in actuality, it could
- 26:05Speaker 3: be here in Atlanta, because you know, right now, Atlanta
- 26:07Speaker 3: has a pretty big film industry, and I feel like
- 26:10Speaker 3: it's who you talk to, especially like we've went into
- 26:13Speaker 3: a lot of like talent ages and such. There's they
- 26:15Speaker 3: talk like that here in Atlanta. I feel like the backstabbing,
- 26:20Speaker 3: the you know, obviously, we also curse a lot.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Samantha specially yeah.
- 26:27Speaker 3: You're Lauren also curses a lot. She's just cuter about
- 26:30Speaker 3: it until she gets mad.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I love it. I think it's great.
- 26:35Speaker 1: It's just shocking because you can't predict it.
- 26:37Speaker 2: You can't predict her Carson.
- 26:40Speaker 3: But I love that because New York definitely, like we've
- 26:43Speaker 3: talked about Sex and the City, it is a love
- 26:46Speaker 3: letter to New York with all of the craziness, with
- 26:49Speaker 3: all of the drama.
- 26:50Speaker 2: It is a love letter.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So as you watch it now versus like in
- 26:57Speaker 1: the past when you've watched it, are there things that
- 27:02Speaker 1: just feels so New York to you when you watch it,
- 27:04Speaker 1: are you like, oh, yeah, okay.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Yes, I would say, particularly with Carrie, she is not
- 27:10Speaker 5: afraid of exploring New York. And even though a lot
- 27:15Speaker 5: of the places that the show featured like no longer exist,
- 27:21Speaker 5: it's still very like compared to maybe the reboot or
- 27:27Speaker 5: like recent shows. And it might have more to do
- 27:30Speaker 5: with like with COVID than like other things, but you
- 27:33Speaker 5: could the show feels like you're definitely in New York
- 27:38Speaker 5: versus like insert generic other big city. Like it feels
- 27:42Speaker 5: like you are in New York, whether it's like the
- 27:44Speaker 5: hustle and bustle of a bar or a club or
- 27:47Speaker 5: even if they're like outside, it just feels like New York.
- 27:51Speaker 5: And then like especially Carrie feels like she embodies New York.
- 27:56Speaker 5: And so yeah, whenever I kind of like, if I
- 27:59Speaker 5: rewatch the show, oh, there's like certain scenes where it's like, ah,
- 28:04Speaker 5: it's New York and I'm here.
- 28:05Speaker 4: That's so cool.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:07Speaker 3: So contributor to the show, Joey they also live in
- 28:11Speaker 3: New York and they've talked about they have just started
- 28:14Speaker 3: watching Sex and the City. So we had them on
- 28:17Speaker 3: to do an episode as a new viewer, so they've
- 28:20Speaker 3: never seen it before and they live in Brooklyn now,
- 28:23Speaker 3: and they were talking about the fact watching it was like,
- 28:27Speaker 3: oh my god, yeah, that is very like even till
- 28:30Speaker 3: to today, two newer viewers, younger viewers, they still relate
- 28:35Speaker 3: to be like, this is so New York in its essence,
- 28:39Speaker 3: and I'm like, I love that because you don't often
- 28:42Speaker 3: see too often see that level of the fact that
- 28:46Speaker 3: a place or a city is a main character as well.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Yes, and it makes it so much more like enticing.
- 28:56Speaker 3: There is something that you urges you to go to
- 28:59Speaker 3: New York to have brunch, not necessarily clubbing. I don't
- 29:02Speaker 3: do the clothing part, but the brunch, Hell yeah did
- 29:05Speaker 3: the brunch.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 5: We we often talk about how New York is the
- 29:09Speaker 5: fifth character in the show because it's just so prominent
- 29:12Speaker 5: in the show.
- 29:14Speaker 3: I don't think we have it yet, but soon we
- 29:16Speaker 3: will have. The day that she has a date with
- 29:18Speaker 3: her city, Carrie has a date with our city.
- 29:22Speaker 2: So good, it's so good, it's so good.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I love her interaction getting some mots of ballsup like
- 29:28Speaker 3: that's probably one of my favorite interactions in the show.
- 29:31Speaker 5: I will say one of the locations that she goes to.
- 29:35Speaker 5: One of my friends actually worked there. Oh and I
- 29:40Speaker 5: met him there and I was like, oh my god,
- 29:43Speaker 5: I'm standing in the lobby of the same place.
- 29:46Speaker 4: That Carrie was. Oh my god.
- 29:50Speaker 3: See this is why I say you're the expert now
- 29:52Speaker 3: for the show for sure, Like you have stood there
- 29:55Speaker 3: and you know where you're standing, and how big of
- 29:58Speaker 3: a deal because Carrie, Carrie has made like the show
- 30:02Speaker 3: really did push like not only like New York City
- 30:05Speaker 3: has its own thing and like it was always like
- 30:07Speaker 3: big touristy, but there was a level that Carrie that
- 30:10Speaker 3: Sex and the City brought not just the to the
- 30:13Speaker 3: fashion world, but two different places in New York that
- 30:17Speaker 3: really made it, made it a nicon, made it historic.
- 30:20Speaker 3: That Stoop was one of those like we talked about
- 30:23Speaker 3: that earlier and stuff like that, and you were saying
- 30:25Speaker 3: that she has a store very close to the Stoop
- 30:29Speaker 3: Slash where it's her brownstone is supposed to be.
- 30:32Speaker 2: That's crazy. Coincidentally, nobody believes that.
- 30:40Speaker 5: Yeah, She's just like, oh, that just happened, and like
- 30:42Speaker 5: the village is like one of the one of the
- 30:45Speaker 5: more expensive neighborhoods, and she's like, oh, that just happened
- 30:47Speaker 5: to be like the cheapest spot in the neighborhood, and
- 30:49Speaker 5: I'm like, Okay.
- 30:50Speaker 2: There's no way. There's no way, man, there's no way.
- 30:55Speaker 3: So yes, we also had two of the guests celebrities
- 30:58Speaker 3: we already talked about, Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Michelle Geller
- 31:01Speaker 3: and her both of their like primes.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Obviously, this was during the time that SEC.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I think, honestly, was it during this time that Saratisca
- 31:10Speaker 3: Parker was starting to become executive producer and really like
- 31:14Speaker 3: having big roles. Obviously she's a star, but like behind
- 31:17Speaker 3: the scenes roles as well. I think she started taking
- 31:20Speaker 3: that on more and more, and so her movie career
- 31:24Speaker 3: was coming.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Background at this point.
- 31:27Speaker 3: I think she did Family Stone around this time too, right,
- 31:31Speaker 3: So a lot of good stuff we have made it.
- 31:33Speaker 3: She and the girls have made it outside of New
- 31:38Speaker 3: York to LA. Obviously a lot of things happening. They're
- 31:43Speaker 3: still currently in La. Annie, do you have predictions of
- 31:48Speaker 3: what you think is coming?
- 31:50Speaker 1: Well, clearly they go back to New York, so this
- 31:54Speaker 1: whole LA thing doesn't work out.
- 31:59Speaker 2: She's learned her lessons in many of these.
- 32:02Speaker 1: I'm trying to get better at it one day. I
- 32:06Speaker 1: think it's gotta have a dramatic season Finaleum, I think
- 32:14Speaker 1: kind of because I know it comes in later seasons
- 32:17Speaker 1: that Big is gonna come back. I don't know. I
- 32:23Speaker 1: don't know if this production is gonna happen at all,
- 32:26Speaker 1: or if it was just a good set piece to
- 32:27Speaker 1: have her question her whole life.
- 32:32Speaker 2: You're not wrong.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I mean it was pretty good set piece. That's that's
- 32:37Speaker 1: for sure. She's gonna have to have be Carrie's gonna
- 32:40Speaker 1: have to do a lot of introspection. And I just
- 32:41Speaker 1: feel like Big is gonna come back. But I don't know.
- 32:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I have no good predictions. I have
- 32:50Speaker 1: no good prediction.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Alright, all right, we won't put you on too much
- 32:54Speaker 3: more on the spot. But yeah, it looks like there's
- 32:57Speaker 3: twenty episodes in the last season that's split into two
- 33:00Speaker 3: and then season before that, so I'm like eight they
- 33:02Speaker 3: had like all over the place over Yeah, it's all
- 33:05Speaker 3: over the place. These like the season two and three
- 33:08Speaker 3: and four were the bigger ones. And then you started
- 33:11Speaker 3: feeling like you started hearing all the drama that was happening,
- 33:15Speaker 3: and I think it started.
- 33:16Speaker 2: To lose its luster.
- 33:17Speaker 3: You said you watched the second movie yet, Because I
- 33:19Speaker 3: have not watched the second movie, would you recommend the
- 33:24Speaker 3: second movie as a watch if you.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Want to hurt yourself, I would say yes.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Do you like pain, this is the movie for you.
- 33:38Speaker 5: It's it's it's pretty bad. It's pretty bad. But I
- 33:44Speaker 5: whenever I do a rewatch, I watched it anyway. For continuity, Yeah,
- 33:47Speaker 5: some people are like some people are like, it's stopped
- 33:50Speaker 5: after the first movie. I'm like, no, no season. The
- 33:53Speaker 5: second movie also counts as well. It's not good. It's
- 33:56Speaker 5: not good, but I.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Still watch Got You. That's that. That is the review
- 34:02Speaker 2: I needed. That was the review I needed.
- 34:05Speaker 3: We probably will because we love we also have to
- 34:07Speaker 3: do things for continuity, especially Annie. But I feel like
- 34:11Speaker 3: it's one of those things that we need to do
- 34:13Speaker 3: as like to complete it.
- 34:16Speaker 2: I'm way down the road.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Yeah. When we first started this, it was ninety it's
- 34:21Speaker 1: ninety four episodes without the new stuff, and then it's
- 34:25Speaker 1: the two movies, and we were like, we're going to
- 34:27Speaker 1: do it. I just think we might. It might be
- 34:32Speaker 1: a long time before we'll see how long.
- 34:35Speaker 3: We last versus that, but it is good to know
- 34:39Speaker 3: because I'm like, do.
- 34:40Speaker 2: I need to watch this?
- 34:42Speaker 3: Ask someone who was a fan and it is a fan,
- 34:46Speaker 3: like do I, But I'm thinking, I wanna, I'm gonna wait,
- 34:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna save that that. Yes, we're gonna save that
- 34:55Speaker 3: to and do you have other trivia that you want
- 34:58Speaker 3: to share with us?
- 35:00Speaker 2: And I don't put you on the spot in that one.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Oh, here's one the episode where Carrie farted. I think
- 35:11Speaker 5: it was an accident that Sarah disca Parker like crashed
- 35:14Speaker 5: into the door or something.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Like that, just running away.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Yeah, and I think she legitimately like hurt herself.
- 35:21Speaker 5: But they were like just that whole scene and like
- 35:24Speaker 5: big like act like big laughing and stuff.
- 35:27Speaker 4: They just they kept it in.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's amazing. That makes it so much better.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's the good stuff. It makes it fun
- 35:39Speaker 1: and it's really fun to watch it as someone who's
- 35:42Speaker 1: never seen it before. But I love like old school technology.
- 35:47Speaker 1: That's fine. But also I feel like I always noticed
- 35:50Speaker 1: the geeky stuff in the background that Samantha's like, what
- 35:52Speaker 1: and I'm like, there's our two D two back there. Well,
- 35:55Speaker 1: that's the poster of Godzilla over there.
- 36:00Speaker 2: A rock thing was there an r D two in
- 36:03Speaker 2: this one? Would you?
- 36:03Speaker 1: There was no, not in this one, but there was
- 36:05Speaker 1: in the Timmy Timothy Olephant when there was an arch
- 36:07Speaker 1: Ty two.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah you did remember, yeah, yeah, of course,
- 36:11Speaker 3: because there was twenty something the old men all living
- 36:13Speaker 3: in a very small part.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:16Speaker 2: They didn't have toilet paper at one point.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh man, it's true. You go on these dates
- 36:24Speaker 1: sometimes and they're like, my shower doesn't work. Here's happened
- 36:30Speaker 1: to me.
- 36:31Speaker 5: I remember I was in my twenties, but I think
- 36:33Speaker 5: the guy was in his thirties, which makes it worse.
- 36:36Speaker 5: I I think I had taken a shower or something,
- 36:40Speaker 5: and I think the tub flooded or something. And I said, hey,
- 36:47Speaker 5: do you have a mom or something and he goes, oh,
- 36:49Speaker 5: just use the towel. And I was like, do you
- 36:52Speaker 5: have any other towels and he's like, no, he has.
- 36:55Speaker 2: One towel, just one towel, and you were using the toewel. Oh.
- 37:01Speaker 5: And what makes it worse is I believe he was
- 37:04Speaker 5: like a celebrity fitness trainer.
- 37:09Speaker 2: You know, that's sad.
- 37:10Speaker 3: Maybe they just don't get paid enough. That's one of
- 37:11Speaker 3: those things. They're like this is not worth it. This
- 37:14Speaker 3: is not worth it.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Dude, go eat your cookies. Go away from them celebrities.
- 37:19Speaker 2: They're not gonna pay you. That's hilarious.
- 37:26Speaker 3: Hold Jasmine, I have to ask what advice would you
- 37:31Speaker 3: give Annie as a newbie Sex and the City watcher
- 37:35Speaker 3: for the future episodes.
- 37:37Speaker 2: I know that's a very vague question.
- 37:38Speaker 3: But like, if do you have any like hold on
- 37:40Speaker 3: to this or just go along for this ride or
- 37:43Speaker 3: any of that.
- 37:44Speaker 5: I guess I'd say pay attention to the puns in
- 37:48Speaker 5: the show. I feel like they just get as the
- 37:52Speaker 5: series progress, they get more and more ridiculous they do.
- 37:54Speaker 3: You're right, maybe why I hate puns because they're so
- 37:58Speaker 3: bad that you're like so bad?
- 38:01Speaker 1: Oh, I can't wait.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Like thirty Rock did a bad like spoof. But have
- 38:08Speaker 3: you ever seen that thirty Rock episode where she's trying
- 38:10Speaker 3: to be a Sex and the City girl and then
- 38:13Speaker 3: she goes up to these four girls who are absolutely
- 38:17Speaker 3: supposed to be the like the representation of the Sex
- 38:20Speaker 3: and the City girls and the puns they make. She's
- 38:23Speaker 3: like nope, nope, nope, and she runs away from them.
- 38:28Speaker 2: You have to watch that episode.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Like some of the things thirty Rock is not one
- 38:31Speaker 3: I recommend necessarily because it doesn't hold up well.
- 38:34Speaker 2: But something's like that. I was like, yeah, that's about
- 38:37Speaker 2: on boy.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Okay, I'm excited about this there.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Yes, Oh, and I guess I need to ask what
- 38:50Speaker 2: without running?
- 38:50Speaker 1: What?
- 38:51Speaker 2: What was your favorite episode of Sex and the City?
- 38:53Speaker 2: Do you have one?
- 38:54Speaker 4: Like a whole time?
- 38:55Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, like do you have She's asking the tough question.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I know it might be before I see her. Are good, Oh.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Dear, it's I feel like it is a a tie
- 39:09Speaker 5: between what was a show called It was the one
- 39:13Speaker 5: where they were talking about S and M and I
- 39:17Speaker 5: don't know if the episode is called La Delure.
- 39:18Speaker 2: It's oh yeah, for Agony in Ecstasy.
- 39:21Speaker 5: I think specifically like that ending. It's a tie between
- 39:25Speaker 5: that and the season season four finale, I believe.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Okay, I haven't seen that one yet, so yeah.
- 39:36Speaker 4: I'll just it's it's the it's the song choice, that's
- 39:38Speaker 4: that's what's the.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Only for me?
- 39:40Speaker 1: That okay?
- 39:42Speaker 2: And then the final question, Team Maiden or Team Big.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Oh no, I disliked them both for separate reasons.
- 39:57Speaker 2: That's a new tack. I like this, but I.
- 39:59Speaker 5: Will say if I have to choose it's it's oh man,
- 40:04Speaker 5: I'm team big over teaming.
- 40:06Speaker 4: But if I have to choose, either would you be
- 40:12Speaker 4: like Steve or oh no, I'm anti Steve. I'm anti Steve.
- 40:18Speaker 8: You have some big takes, all right, this conversation wow here, yes, yes,
