- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on your things, got it? I sure will. Good
- 0:06Speaker 1: morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come on dig
- 0:10Speaker 1: me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Man o man, oh man. Wow. I think about all
- 0:20Speaker 1: the things God has done for me is overwhelming at times.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And I want everybody to have that feeling and to
- 0:27Speaker 1: sharing that feeling of completion and satisfaction. And the only
- 0:32Speaker 1: reason I got this, and it's the thousandth time I've
- 0:34Speaker 1: said it, is because I formed a relationship with my creator. Period.
- 0:39Speaker 1: That's it. That's that's it. I can't tell you as
- 0:43Speaker 1: anything else else. You know, I've always had a strong
- 0:45Speaker 1: work ethic. My father put that in me. My father's
- 0:49Speaker 1: conversation with me growing up was always constantly about work hard,
- 0:54Speaker 1: don't be lazy, be a man, do what you say
- 0:56Speaker 1: you're gonna do. YadA YadA, YadA, YadA YadA. Man. I
- 0:59Speaker 1: was so out of my father at times. I was going, Man,
- 1:02Speaker 1: what is with this dude? Right here? Man, every time
- 1:05Speaker 1: we have a conversation, it's got to be about work.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's got to be about, you know, man, doing your best,
- 1:11Speaker 1: trying hard, you know, working, being honest, do what you
- 1:15Speaker 1: say you're gonna do. But that was his mission. I
- 1:19Speaker 1: can't tell you how much I appreciate that now. I
- 1:23Speaker 1: can't even I can't even put it into words when
- 1:25Speaker 1: I think about my old man and what he was
- 1:29Speaker 1: to me, and I just, man, I'm so grateful for
- 1:34Speaker 1: that balance I had in my life. And then my
- 1:36Speaker 1: father was a fighter. He fought on the weekends. You know.
- 1:41Speaker 1: My father used to come home with his clothes toe
- 1:45Speaker 1: off of him. He put a fresh shirt on, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: he go back. My mom used to talk about my
- 1:50Speaker 1: father fighting all the time, lick, while you're always fighting.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You know a little bit of that rubbed off on
- 1:56Speaker 1: me too. You know that that kind of got into me.
- 1:58Speaker 1: And I didn't understand that either. But then on the
- 2:01Speaker 1: same turn, my mother was a Sunday school teacher for
- 2:04Speaker 1: forty years, so her conversation was never about fighting or anything.
- 2:08Speaker 1: It was all about love and understanding and doing another
- 2:11Speaker 1: that you would have to do unto you. My mom
- 2:13Speaker 1: was a Sunday school teacher, so I learned about faith.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I had to go to Sunday school, prayer meeting, Bible study,
- 2:19Speaker 1: young people meeting, choir rehearsal. You know, I was a
- 2:23Speaker 1: church man so much I was actually looking as that's
- 2:26Speaker 1: got to be an alternative to this, you know, I
- 2:29Speaker 1: want you know, and I was a little kid even
- 2:31Speaker 1: I was thinking at one point maybe I ought to
- 2:33Speaker 1: look in al because there's got to be something cooler
- 2:36Speaker 1: than this going on every day. It had got that
- 2:39Speaker 1: crazy for me. But the balance between those two people
- 2:42Speaker 1: created who I am today. And I want you to
- 2:45Speaker 1: understand that the things that you are in your past
- 2:49Speaker 1: have helped create who you are today. If you view
- 2:52Speaker 1: it the right way, everything that has happened to you
- 2:57Speaker 1: in your past has happened to you for reason, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: it's usually for the good if you view it that way.
- 3:06Speaker 1: But if you, on the other hand, are a type
- 3:09Speaker 1: of person who can't move forward because you are allowing
- 3:13Speaker 1: your past to stop you from having your future, then you,
- 3:18Speaker 1: my friend, are doing a disservice to your life. You
- 3:23Speaker 1: are not honoring God's blessings. You are not taking advantage
- 3:28Speaker 1: of the gain, knowledge, wisdom, and experience of your life. Example,
- 3:35Speaker 1: if you are a woman and you are always talking
- 3:41Speaker 1: about a former relationship what he did to me. If
- 3:46Speaker 1: he had not did this to me, I wouldn't be
- 3:49Speaker 1: in this place today. I thought I had a man. Now,
- 3:54Speaker 1: I ain't got no man ahllah lah lah la lah.
- 4:00Speaker 1: You know he came along and I was doing just swell.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He just came in and he just lied to me.
- 4:07Speaker 1: He lied to me, nod. He did this to me.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Then he cheated, then he left. All of that that
- 4:13Speaker 1: you're saying can very well be true. Have you thought
- 4:19Speaker 1: that maybe maybe somewhere in God's infinite wisdom, that he
- 4:27Speaker 1: knew that you had made a mistake in picking him anyway?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Maybe he knew you had made a mistake in saying
- 4:37Speaker 1: yes or I do to him anyway, or come on,
- 4:41Speaker 1: move in? And so what he did was based on
- 4:47Speaker 1: your decision now to say yes, I do, or come on,
- 4:51Speaker 1: let's move in together. That was your decision. You ain't
- 4:54Speaker 1: go to him about this one. You made this decision
- 4:58Speaker 1: based on that decision, and all the negative things that
- 5:02Speaker 1: started happening. He allowed you to get away from it.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Now how you got away from it, it's always not
- 5:09Speaker 1: the choice of ours. See, you stuck on the fact
- 5:13Speaker 1: that he left, that he walked out. But let me
- 5:17Speaker 1: share this with you. When he was there, how good
- 5:20Speaker 1: was he to you? How good was he for you? See,
- 5:24Speaker 1: you got to stare at you got to look at
- 5:26Speaker 1: the blessing. The blessing is. Now you are on your own.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Now you walk in your house, ain't nobody in there
- 5:34Speaker 1: with a disruptive spirit. Now you go home. You could
- 5:38Speaker 1: take your clothes off, walk around like you want to.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Now you go home, you can sit down and look
- 5:44Speaker 1: at TV or catch your breath if you want to.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Your kids don't have to see y'all arguing all the time.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Have you looked at the blessing in it? But now
- 5:56Speaker 1: if you gonna keep looking at the negative, then guess what.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Now you can't move forward because you keep allowing your
- 6:05Speaker 1: past to keep you from moving forward. If God has
- 6:09Speaker 1: brought you through it, why don't you move on from it? Look,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you got through it. He gone, he ain't coming back.
- 6:17Speaker 1: He got somebody else. So you gonna sit there and
- 6:20Speaker 1: just keep tripping becauts He gone and he got somebody else. Hey,
- 6:25Speaker 1: pick yourself up. Thank God for the blessing. It didn't
- 6:29Speaker 1: feel like a blessing. Why you was going through it
- 6:31Speaker 1: and all the pain of him leaving and the divorce
- 6:34Speaker 1: and all that messed you up? Got it? When you
- 6:37Speaker 1: get through it all of that, you ain't the first
- 6:39Speaker 1: one being left You ain't the first one being divorced.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You ain't the first one been in a bad relationship.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Pick yourself up, thank God for the blessing, and move
- 6:50Speaker 1: forward in your life, because maybe when you quit complaining,
- 6:55Speaker 1: maybe you'll find out that God has something in store
- 6:58Speaker 1: for you that he wont you to have, but he
- 7:01Speaker 1: can't give it to you if you ain't grateful. So
- 7:04Speaker 1: God gives you a blessing, but because you don't see
- 7:07Speaker 1: it as a blessing, you ain't grateful for it. Now,
- 7:10Speaker 1: guess what, You steady asking God to do something for you,
- 7:14Speaker 1: but you ain't thanking him for what he's done for you,
- 7:17Speaker 1: but you steady wanting him to do more. How does
- 7:20Speaker 1: that work? How does that work? Man? That he should
- 7:23Speaker 1: keep on giving you things when you ain't even working
- 7:26Speaker 1: with the stuff he didne gave you. And I don't know.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And I'm just using that one example. That could go
- 7:33Speaker 1: for me and too, vice versa, and so on and
- 7:35Speaker 1: so forth. I'm just using that as an example. Now,
- 7:39Speaker 1: why I laid on that one so long? You have
- 7:41Speaker 1: to take that over God, that's all just reat. I
- 7:44Speaker 1: ain't pointing fingers at nobody in nothing, because I've been
- 7:47Speaker 1: guilty on both sides of the coin. Who am I,
- 7:50Speaker 1: But I'm just sharing with you what I had to do.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I had to learn to stop allowing my past to
- 7:57Speaker 1: interfere with my future. The Steve Harvey Morning Show
