- 1:41Speaker 5: And we're coming to you live from where?
- 1:42Speaker 8: Horror Hound Weekend Cincinnati at the Crown Plaza North and
- 1:47Speaker 8: Sharonville Convention Center.
- 1:49Speaker 6: It's both.
- 1:49Speaker 5: It's spilled over.
- 1:50Speaker 6: It's spilled over like a bowl full of jelly.
- 1:53Speaker 5: It's spilled over all kinds. Yes.
- 1:59Speaker 7: It is Sunday, and I have reached the level of
- 2:02Speaker 7: tiredness that means I am nonverbal.
- 2:07Speaker 5: She said she was going to climb under the table
- 2:09Speaker 5: and nap.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I bought shirts.
- 2:11Speaker 6: I also bought shirts. I'm wearing my Walking Fred t-shirt.
- 2:15Speaker 8: That I got from an awesome company that I don't
- 2:19Speaker 8: remember the name of at the moment.
- 2:20Speaker 5: It looks like Fred Flintstone, only he's a zombie.
- 2:23Speaker 8: It's only half of him, like the lady in the
- 2:26Speaker 8: opening episode that Rick was sorry to shoot in the face.
- 2:29Speaker 9: Nice.
- 2:30Speaker 6: Yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 2:31Speaker 5: Classy stuff here at Horror.
- 2:32Speaker 6: It's nothing but class. Class and ass.
- 2:35Speaker 5: We're loitering around your table here. How has it been
- 2:37Speaker 5: for you guys this weekend?
- 2:39Speaker 7: Really good, actually. You know, a lot of traffic, obviously,
- 2:43Speaker 7: because there's a gazillion people here. So it's worked out
- 2:47Speaker 7: really well. We've made some funds. We've raised them from
- 2:51Speaker 7: the dead and into our pockets for keeping the show going.
- 2:55Speaker 7: So you know what that's like.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yes, sadly.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Got a hustle? As we don't get any donations every week, yes,
- 3:01Speaker 5: I do. It's really hard.
- 3:03Speaker 7: You know and uh but it's been good it's been
- 3:05Speaker 7: good at this show for that now i feel really
- 3:07Speaker 7: guilty for saying.
- 3:07Speaker 6: That and i'm sorry if somebody wants to donate to
- 3:10Speaker 6: movie meltdown how would they do.
- 3:12Speaker 5: That uh movie meltdown.com and do they click on a
- 3:15Speaker 5: button there's a button over there donate to the show
- 3:18Speaker 5: we had a whole fundraiser going by now you probably
- 3:20Speaker 5: missed it but that doesn't really matter we'll still take
- 3:22Speaker 5: your money gladly so.
- 3:23Speaker 8: They always need it as a fellow podcaster i can
- 3:26Speaker 8: say that When you, you know, you run out of
- 3:29Speaker 8: your own money really quick, and then if your listeners
- 3:31Speaker 8: don't help you out, then you're just running out of
- 3:33Speaker 8: money that you're borrowing from people.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Sadly.
- 3:35Speaker 5: I continue to go in the hole every week. It's
- 3:38Speaker 5: a sad state of affair.
- 3:39Speaker 6: But it's a love affair.
- 3:40Speaker 5: It is, because we still get, like, really cool stuff.
- 3:43Speaker 5: And I think we, like, you know, you guys go
- 3:45Speaker 5: through this, too. You end up, like, capturing these amazing
- 3:48Speaker 5: moments that, like, you would never do. Like, sitting around
- 3:50Speaker 5: by yourself, you wouldn't do. But, like, you get your
- 3:52Speaker 5: friends together, you turn on the mic, and, like, it
- 3:54Speaker 5: becomes a whole different thing. Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:56Speaker 3: It's kind of awesome.
- 3:57Speaker 5: Beautiful.
- 3:58Speaker 10: Isn't it?
- 3:59Speaker 4: It's the best thing about doing this is like all
- 4:01Speaker 4: the awesome people that you meet and all the weird
- 4:03Speaker 4: things that happen and all the cartoon characters that you
- 4:06Speaker 4: turn into and robots.
- 4:09Speaker 5: We do have some cartoon characters on our show. I'll
- 4:11Speaker 5: give you that.
- 4:12Speaker 3: I'm done.
- 4:13Speaker 5: You're done listing things?
- 4:14Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 4:16Speaker 5: So usually we kick off ours with whatever we've been
- 4:19Speaker 5: watching or something to that effect. Have you guys seen anything?
- 4:22Speaker 5: I don't know if it has to be from here, but...
- 4:24Speaker 5: I really haven't watched much lately, so I was seeing
- 4:26Speaker 5: if you guys have watched anything good.
- 4:28Speaker 6: I've been watching a lot of Downton Abbey. I'm just
- 4:31Speaker 6: discovering it.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Horror at its finest.
- 4:33Speaker 6: Yeah, it can be very scary sometimes. Because apparently at
- 4:38Speaker 6: one time... we were either going to.
- 4:41Speaker 8: Be a lord or a lady or a butler or
- 4:43Speaker 8: a footman or something, and I didn't know that.
- 4:45Speaker 5: I don't like this breakdown because I know my luck.
- 4:49Speaker 5: I'll be sweeping up after somebody.
- 4:50Speaker 8: I'm really excited about re-watching the Back to the Future
- 4:53Speaker 8: trilogy Blu-rays that I bought months ago and haven't got
- 4:58Speaker 8: around to watching yet.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I still want the Eric Stoltz footage, damn it.
- 5:02Speaker 6: Oh, have you seen it?
- 5:04Speaker 5: Well, we've gotten still shots. There's a little bit, but
- 5:06Speaker 5: they've got two-thirds of that movie with him in it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 5:09Speaker 6: You want to see the whole thing stitched together, don't you?
- 5:11Speaker 5: I think everybody's going to have to dial off before they'll... Eventually,
- 5:13Speaker 5: somewhere down the line, I'm sure they'll put it out.
- 5:16Speaker 8: You should have asked Dean Koundé if he had it
- 5:18Speaker 8: with him. He probably carries that shit around on reels
- 5:21Speaker 8: and cans.
- 5:21Speaker 5: Just to impress people. Come back to my room, check
- 5:24Speaker 5: this out.
- 5:25Speaker 8: Young ladies who are really into Eric Stoltz. You're like, hey,
- 5:29Speaker 8: you know Teen Heartthrob Eric Stoltz?
- 5:31Speaker 5: He doesn't come off well in that story, actually.
- 5:34Speaker 6: Yeah, that's true.
- 5:35Speaker 5: I've heard some bad things about him on the set there.
- 5:38Speaker 6: Eric Stoltz or Dean Koundé?
- 5:41Speaker 5: We'll go with Eric Stoltz.
- 5:42Speaker 6: Oh, okay, Eric Stoltz. We'll go with that.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Well, I just heard he was very method-y and was
- 5:46Speaker 5: kind of pissing off the other actors.
- 5:49Speaker 6: I just stuck the mic in Amy's face for no
- 5:50Speaker 6: reason at all.
- 5:52Speaker 7: I was going to say, isn't he directing Glee episodes now?
- 5:55Speaker 5: Which one?
- 5:56Speaker 6: Eric Stoltz.
- 5:58Speaker 5: I've lost track of my Glee. I'm sorry.
- 6:00Speaker 6: You lost track of Stoltzy?
- 6:02Speaker 5: And Glee.
- 6:03Speaker 6: And Glee. Glee Stoltzy. I'm going to have a daughter
- 6:06Speaker 6: and name her Glee Stoltzy.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Oh, she's going to get so picked on.
- 6:09Speaker 3: She is.
- 6:10Speaker 6: What are you named after? Like Eric Stolz in an
- 6:12Speaker 6: episode of Glee? Yeah.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Right before they pound her face. Yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 6: That's my bruised daughter. The Dinosaur Project is good.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I want everybody to watch it.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Is it recent? Yeah, it just came out.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:28Speaker 4: In fact, let me break it down. Let me break
- 6:31Speaker 4: it down for you, Movie Meltdown listeners. The Dinosaur Project
- 6:35Speaker 4: is a found footage, and maybe some of you are groaning.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Stop it.
- 6:38Speaker 4: It's a found footage dinosaur movie, and the effects are good,
- 6:41Speaker 4: and that's all you need to know. If it's a
- 6:43Speaker 4: dinosaur movie and the effects are good, that's all that counts.
- 6:47Speaker 4: But there's also fun acting, and they're British. And it
- 6:50Speaker 4: came in under the radar. Nobody knew about it. Unless
- 6:53Speaker 4: you just were like reading, you happened to be reading
- 6:55Speaker 4: horror sci-fi news and knew it was happening. Like it
- 6:59Speaker 4: got released for a minute in Britain and then nothing here.
- 7:03Speaker 4: And then I found it. I accidentally found it on Redbox.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I mean, I knew about it and it wasn't on
- 7:09Speaker 4: Netflix or anything.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Rented it on Redbox. Fucking great. Watch it. It's dinosaurs.
- 7:14Speaker 6: You'll be glad you did it.
- 7:15Speaker 5: Very cool.
- 7:17Speaker 3: They kill people.
- 7:20Speaker 6: I thought of this.
- 7:22Speaker 8: If you like short films, Tony Walsh's A Chance in
- 7:25Speaker 8: Hell that they screened today is awesome.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Nice.
- 7:27Speaker 8: And I know that you can get that from Scotchworthy.com.
- 7:31Speaker 8: And I have to make sure I said that because
- 7:33Speaker 8: it's that good.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Plug.
- 7:36Speaker 6: We'll plug.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Have you seen the ABCs of Death?
- 7:41Speaker 6: No, not yet.
- 7:41Speaker 3: 26 shorts?
- 7:42Speaker 6: It's mixed for me.
- 7:43Speaker 11: Oh, yeah?
- 7:43Speaker 5: I love the idea. Like, it seems like a brilliant plan,
- 7:47Speaker 5: and then you get in there, and I'm like, oh, really, guys?
- 7:49Speaker 6: Well, it's 26 short films, right?
- 7:51Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 5: I mean, it's worth watching to get the good ones,
- 7:54Speaker 5: but there's a lot of them that I'm like, you
- 7:56Speaker 5: spent money on this?
- 7:58Speaker 6: How long is it?
- 7:59Speaker 5: It's still, like, normal time, so you get some of
- 8:01Speaker 5: them that are just, like, a two-minute thing.
- 8:03Speaker 12: Oh, okay.
- 8:03Speaker 5: You get some that are, you know.
- 8:04Speaker 11: Four or five.
- 8:05Speaker 8: Some of it reminded me of, like, liquid television type stuff.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Like the claymation ones?
- 8:10Speaker 8: Yeah, like the old MTV, like Aeon Fluxy type of looking.
- 8:14Speaker 5: I don't know. It's interesting. There's a little bit of everything.
- 8:18Speaker 5: There is a clay animation one. There is an animation
- 8:22Speaker 5: kind of worked in. There's some that are super old school,
- 8:25Speaker 5: like just everything's done semi-practical. There's some that have bad CG.
- 8:31Speaker 5: It's a grab bag of all kinds of film tricks
- 8:33Speaker 5: and styles. In a way, that seems great, but there's
- 8:37Speaker 5: so many of them that I'm just so let down by.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I can imagine.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Because it seems like the 12-year-old boy made it. And
- 8:41Speaker 5: I'm like, really? It's all potty humor. I was like, really? Like,
- 8:46Speaker 5: you've got this unlimited, you know, thing. You can put
- 8:48Speaker 5: together this great, scary movie. And instead, they're just like,
- 8:52Speaker 5: they're in the toilet jokes every time. I'm just like.
- 8:54Speaker 6: Yeah, that's ridiculous.
- 8:56Speaker 5: But it's not all of them.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Movie Meltdown, you're home for fart.
- 8:59Speaker 5: We're better than that.
- 9:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 5: So, yeah, I think I just expected more for some
- 9:04Speaker 5: of them. But there's some really good ones along the way, so.
- 9:07Speaker 5: It's worth it overall, but you've got to sit through
- 9:09Speaker 5: some less impressive pieces of film. Let's put it that way.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Well, it's all death.
- 9:14Speaker 8: I mean, some of it's sure probably going to be funny,
- 9:17Speaker 8: but as much as I love horror movies, I don't
- 9:19Speaker 8: like to be bummed out.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 6: So I hear John dies at the end is pretty amazing.
- 9:24Speaker 6: Have you seen that yet?
- 9:25Speaker 5: I did see that. It was a lot of fun.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Yeah, that's why I'm dying for it.
- 9:28Speaker 5: He's a fun director, and I think as he's gone on,
- 9:30Speaker 5: I think he's gotten more and more okay with being silly.
- 9:34Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 9:36Speaker 5: He lets this one be very fun and kind of light,
- 9:39Speaker 5: so it works for it.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:41Speaker 5: It's a fun movie.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I'm in.
- 9:42Speaker 6: I'm in for that. I just have to get my
- 9:44Speaker 6: hands on it. I think it's on demand still, right?
- 9:46Speaker 5: It played once in Louisville. And it was a midnight show.
- 9:50Speaker 5: It was the only way they could get it here.
- 9:52Speaker 5: That's the only time I think we had it playing
- 9:54Speaker 5: in town. I'm glad I got to see it on
- 9:57Speaker 5: the screen, but it's a fun movie.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:59Speaker 8: They screened some fun stuff here i i'm sure your
- 10:01Speaker 8: listeners would have enjoyed maniac yeah i mean it's a
- 10:04Speaker 8: quality movie.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Steve was just telling me about a minute ago over
- 10:07Speaker 5: here he really liked it too yeah i was afraid
- 10:09Speaker 5: that would go badly but he he really liked.
- 10:12Speaker 8: It yeah i was a little worried because i didn't
- 10:14Speaker 8: like the original i and uh and i thought it
- 10:16Speaker 8: was going to be it looked From what I had seen,
- 10:18Speaker 8: it looked pretty similar, but then I got in there
- 10:20Speaker 8: and it was really good.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what he said.
- 10:22Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a huge improvement on the original.
- 10:26Speaker 14: What can you do?
- 10:29Speaker 5: I don't know. That's about all I've seen. You too?
- 10:32Speaker 8: Yeah, that's our weekend so far. I mean, you don't
- 10:34Speaker 8: want to hear about all the sitcoms.
- 10:37Speaker 7: I have resolved just now to go back and do
- 10:41Speaker 7: a rewatch on seasons 8 and 9 of The X-Files.
- 10:46Speaker 7: Because I've seen Robert Patrick three times now.
- 10:49Speaker 5: I saw a picture of him. Is it just me
- 10:51Speaker 5: or does he have a crazy homeless beard going?
- 10:53Speaker 7: He has a crazy homeless beard, but it's kind of
- 10:55Speaker 7: working for him.
- 10:56Speaker 11: Okay.
- 10:57Speaker 7: He's wearing black pants and a black shirt today. It's
- 11:00Speaker 7: working for me.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Okay? Whatever you need. Ladies and gentlemen, it's working for
- 11:03Speaker 5: me right now. Whatever you need.
- 11:04Speaker 7: So I think I'm going to go back and re-watch
- 11:06Speaker 7: those and get a little Special Agent John Doggett in
- 11:08Speaker 7: my life.
- 11:10Speaker 5: I think he can probably hook you up. And if
- 11:13Speaker 5: you go hang around a sable, he can still probably
- 11:15Speaker 5: hook you up, even today.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Dollars to donuts, he could. And that's a reference, because
- 11:21Speaker 7: Doggett used to say that.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I kind of tuned out as the seasons went
- 11:25Speaker 5: on in that one. I loved it all the way up.
- 11:28Speaker 5: It's like that movie's the jump the shark for me.
- 11:30Speaker 7: Eight and nine are the bastard children, but I really
- 11:34Speaker 7: liked him.
- 11:35Speaker 5: She was underrated. That's the thing, I like pieces of it,
- 11:36Speaker 5: because I liked, was it Annabeth Gish they worked on
- 11:39Speaker 5: with her? I really like her, but she's so wasted
- 11:42Speaker 5: by that point. I'm just like, why didn't you guys
- 11:44Speaker 5: just give her her own show? Why didn't you just
- 11:47Speaker 5: spin off and make them other people that had nothing
- 11:49Speaker 5: to do with this?
- 11:49Speaker 7: I think there was some contemplation of doing.
- 11:51Speaker 5: That, but it never came to fruition. And Robert Patrick
- 11:54Speaker 5: was as good as he could be coming into a
- 11:57Speaker 5: bad situation. You're stepping into someone else's shoes at this point, really.
- 12:01Speaker 7: And he's handsome.
- 12:03Speaker 5: So it's, you know, it was bad for them, but
- 12:06Speaker 5: they were good. Again, there were good parts in it.
- 12:09Speaker 10: Right.
- 12:09Speaker 5: It just had issues overall.
- 12:10Speaker 7: It wasn't pure crap.
- 12:11Speaker 8: And he revived the saying on that, when Robert Patrick
- 12:15Speaker 8: was on the X-Files, he revived the saying, dollars to donuts.
- 12:18Speaker 5: He said that.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Did you say that?
- 12:19Speaker 5: Seriously, right now? It's loud in here.
- 12:21Speaker 6: I was adjusting your scarf on me. It looks better
- 12:24Speaker 6: on me.
- 12:25Speaker 7: He's busy dealing with his lady scarf that he couldn't
- 12:28Speaker 7: listen to his own wife talk.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 12:31Speaker 6: Are you better now?
- 12:32Speaker 5: Okay. Which is most stylish? What's most stylish in life, listeners?
- 12:37Speaker 5: He's trying on a scarf. Do you like it this
- 12:39Speaker 5: way or this way? Do you like it better just draped?
- 12:42Speaker 5: This is good for an audio situation. It works so
- 12:44Speaker 5: well on the radios.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Do you like it swooped over the shoulder? Is that
- 12:48Speaker 6: too glamorous with a t-shirt?
- 12:50Speaker 5: Do we need to get a photo to go along
- 12:51Speaker 5: with this here?
- 12:52Speaker 3: You should.
- 12:55Speaker 6: You need multiple photos.
- 12:56Speaker 8: You can stitch it together, the different versions of me
- 12:59Speaker 8: and the scarf.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Here's one.
- 13:03Speaker 6: We're done here.
- 13:06Speaker 5: We have our options now. We'll post them on our page,
- 13:09Speaker 5: and that way you guys can vote for which way
- 13:11Speaker 5: you like the scarf that he stole from his wife.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Photo shoot! All right. I think that gets us in
- 13:18Speaker 5: this week. Do you want to go ahead and plug
- 13:20Speaker 5: your stuff? Yeah, I want to plug my stuff. People
- 13:22Speaker 5: should be listening to you. Hell, I've been listening to
- 13:25Speaker 5: you since we started, so go to town.

- 15:43Speaker 2: bar to tempt your palate. And remember, Castleberry barbecues are
- 15:47Speaker 2: not just meat with barbecue sauce. They're pit-cooked barbecues prepared
- 15:51Speaker 2: the Southern way.
- 15:58Speaker 9: Once upon a time, there was a boy named Victor Crowley.
- 16:03Speaker 9: Folks weren't too kind to Victor, so he stayed hidden
- 16:07Speaker 9: in his daddy's house out in the bayou.
- 16:12Speaker 1: One night, some.
- 16:13Speaker 9: Mean children came to his house, and there was a
- 16:16Speaker 9: bad fire. When his daddy jumped down the door to
- 16:21Speaker 9: save him, he didn't know Victor was pressed against the
- 16:24Speaker 9: other side. And poor Victor Crowley died. They say people
- 16:32Speaker 9: disappear in those woods.
- 16:36Speaker 15: And legend has.
- 16:37Speaker 9: It, if you get close enough to the old Crowley
- 16:40Speaker 9: house at night, you can still hear Victor Crowley, roaming
- 16:46Speaker 9: in the woods, crying for his dad.
- 16:58Speaker 10: I wanna go home. We're all gonna die.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Hey kids, it's Brian. So you're listening to this episode,
- 17:35Speaker 5: and it sounds pretty good, right? That's because we're using
- 17:39Speaker 5: our new mics from the Doo-Wop Shop. We are using
- 17:42Speaker 5: the VLH-SM2000s that are made specifically for the Doo-Wop Shop.
- 17:47Speaker 5: And if you want one, you can go get one yourself.
- 17:50Speaker 5: They are actually only $ 65 if you want to buy one,
- 17:53Speaker 5: or they rent everything in the Doo-Wop shop, so you
- 17:55Speaker 5: can go there and get it for as little as
- 17:57Speaker 5: $ 5 a month. So you too can be out there
- 17:59Speaker 5: using your microphones to record a show, or interview people, or,
- 18:03Speaker 5: I don't know, most people probably have, like, bands and,
- 18:05Speaker 5: you know, rent instruments and stuff, which.
- 18:07Speaker 14: They also do.
- 18:08Speaker 5: They have a huge selection.
- 18:09Speaker 14: Of instruments, so.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Anything you need for any type of event, whether it's
- 18:13Speaker 5: a music show or a business meeting or whatever kind
- 18:16Speaker 5: of occasion you've got, they've pretty much got everything covered.
- 18:19Speaker 5: So if they are located in Louisville, you can go
- 18:21Speaker 5: to the Highland Store at 1587 Bartstown Road or in
- 18:25Speaker 5: the East End at 2915 South Hurstburn Parkway. Even if
- 18:29Speaker 5: you're not in the area, they have the website like
- 18:31Speaker 5: most businesses, but you go to doo-wop.com. And specifically, they
- 18:36Speaker 5: have a huge selection of karaoke discs. So you can
- 18:39Speaker 5: actually go to the website. They have thousands of titles
- 18:41Speaker 5: to choose from, and they're only like $ 4. 99 a month.
- 18:44Speaker 5: So whatever you need karaoke-wise, they can hook you up
- 18:47Speaker 5: through the internet, and you don't even have to.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Be in the area.
- 18:50Speaker 5: So again, that is doo-wop.com. Go there. They'll have whatever
- 18:54Speaker 5: you need. They certainly did with us for the mic.
- 18:56Speaker 5: So yeah, go to doo-wop.com and check it out.
- 19:20Speaker 16: All right, so.
- 19:30Speaker 5: I'm back here with Christian, who you are not familiar
- 19:40Speaker 5: with the convention scene. This is technically the first of
- 19:44Speaker 5: this type convention for you, so um, I, I guess
- 19:47Speaker 5: what's been your take on the, uh, the whole convention thing?
- 19:51Speaker 17: Um, I had a really good time at the convention.
- 19:55Speaker 17: There was a lot of people that seemed to let
- 19:59Speaker 17: the disorganization of it get in the way of them
- 20:01Speaker 17: just like enjoying themselves. But I kind of knew what
- 20:05Speaker 17: we were going into, uh, before we went because we
- 20:08Speaker 17: didn't go on the first night, um, We went the
- 20:11Speaker 17: second day on Saturday, and so I knew what we
- 20:14Speaker 17: were facing. And I just kind of rolled with it,
- 20:17Speaker 17: and I had a really good time. It was fun
- 20:20Speaker 17: seeing people dressing up as whatever characters and whatnot. Some
- 20:27Speaker 17: of it was entertaining, not for the fact of what
- 20:30Speaker 17: they were dressed up as, just seeing their interpretations of things,
- 20:36Speaker 17: I guess.
- 20:38Speaker 5: That means here's a really good outfit. Now, how do
- 20:40Speaker 5: I remove the area that covers the boobs?
- 20:44Speaker 14: Right.
- 20:44Speaker 17: I mean, there is a lot of boobs to be seen,
- 20:46Speaker 17: so I didn't know it was that kind of convention,
- 20:48Speaker 17: but hey, whatever.
- 20:49Speaker 15: I mean, if that's what.
- 20:49Speaker 5: They're all that kind of convention.
- 20:51Speaker 17: I mean, if that's what floats your boat, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 17: that's fine. But I mean, I had a really good time.
- 20:58Speaker 17: It was really fun being able to be part of
- 21:03Speaker 17: a crowd that Um, I felt like everybody was just
- 21:06Speaker 17: really nice. Like, yeah, people have their bitchy moments that,
- 21:10Speaker 17: I mean, you know, that's life, but.
- 21:12Speaker 5: That's what I was actually telling somebody last night when
- 21:14Speaker 5: we were, we went to go get food and they
- 21:16Speaker 5: were talking about like how they had thought people weren't
- 21:20Speaker 5: in a good mood. I was like, truthfully, like. Compared
- 21:23Speaker 5: to the people in the real world, like, everybody there
- 21:26Speaker 5: was kind of in, like, several times, it's just, like,
- 21:28Speaker 5: with that many people crammed into a space, like, sometimes,
- 21:32Speaker 5: especially in different settings with, like, real people in the world,
- 21:36Speaker 5: they would get all uptight and bitchy and, like, just
- 21:38Speaker 5: get upset with whatever. there are so many times when
- 21:41Speaker 5: you just kind of bump into somebody, like, you know,
- 21:43Speaker 5: it just happens when there's that many people jammed together,
- 21:45Speaker 5: and I'd be like, oh, sorry, and, like, in the
- 21:48Speaker 5: real world, people just get, oh, watch where you're going,
- 21:49Speaker 5: and get all pissed off, and, like, so many people
- 21:51Speaker 5: are like, oh, man, don't worry about it, you know,
- 21:53Speaker 5: they're just, like, a lot of people were really kind
- 21:55Speaker 5: of easygoing this weekend, and there's a guy earlier, just today,
- 21:59Speaker 5: that I was just like, oh, we were both just
- 22:01Speaker 5: sort of, like, looking at something, and almost ran into
- 22:02Speaker 5: each other, and he's like, Oh, don't worry about me,
- 22:05Speaker 5: I'm just wandering around I was like, hey, me too
- 22:08Speaker 5: Everybody that I kept running into Almost literally were really
- 22:12Speaker 5: relaxed So I kind of appreciated that That in this
- 22:17Speaker 5: convention crowd Specifically this horror crowd That there's a good
- 22:21Speaker 5: attitude with people More so than you would expect For
- 22:24Speaker 5: these hardcore gore fans Most of them are kind of
- 22:28Speaker 5: nice people I've kind of known that for years But
- 22:31Speaker 5: it's good to see it in.
- 22:32Speaker 17: Action again Well, I mean, yeah, I mean, I don't
- 22:34Speaker 17: know why I would expect it to be any different
- 22:36Speaker 17: because it's like any friends that I have that that's
- 22:39Speaker 17: their scene. I mean, they're they're all really nice, but
- 22:42Speaker 17: it was just I just thought that was really neat.
- 22:44Speaker 17: It was just it's nice to be around nice people.
- 22:47Speaker 5: So, yeah, it was surprising with that many people. Sometimes
- 22:52Speaker 5: that could change that attitude. But now everybody everybody's in
- 22:54Speaker 5: pretty good spirits this weekend, as far as I could tell.
- 22:58Speaker 5: And as much fun as all that was, it all
- 23:00Speaker 5: still kind of pales in comparison to the other thing
- 23:03Speaker 5: we got to do. Yeah, just hanging out with Dee
- 23:09Speaker 5: Schneider and Adam Green was pretty damned amazing.
- 23:13Speaker 15: Probably one of the high points of my life. Not
- 23:15Speaker 15: just the weekend, my life.
- 23:17Speaker 17: I can die now, and I feel like I've accomplished
- 23:20Speaker 17: everything I need to.
- 23:21Speaker 5: I can't argue that. They're pretty amazing. So, yeah, I
- 23:25Speaker 5: think we should go ahead and just get into that.
- 23:27Speaker 5: We do sit down with rock star extraordinaire, Mr. D. Snyder,
- 23:32Speaker 5: and director of a lot. He's really got an interesting
- 23:36Speaker 5: take on stuff, too. I always liked him just as
- 23:39Speaker 5: a guy, and I've seen a good amount of his
- 23:42Speaker 5: work as a director, and he's got a really good
- 23:44Speaker 5: take on it. But I think even more than that,
- 23:46Speaker 5: he's got a really interesting take on the business and
- 23:49Speaker 5: what he wants to do in the business. So yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 5: I think Adam Green is, is really a fun guy
- 23:56Speaker 5: to see his work, but even more interesting just to
- 23:58Speaker 5: sit down and.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Talk to him.
- 23:59Speaker 5: So I think we will do that right now.
- 24:05Speaker 3: And these actually pick up on the side.
- 24:06Speaker 18: It's got that tape.
- 24:08Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Try that.
- 24:10Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 24:11Speaker 18: I know you don't know anything about microphones.
- 24:15Speaker 12: Actually, I'm terrible because I always wind up like, yeah, well, yeah,
- 24:19Speaker 12: mouthing it.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Well, that's what's funny. Back up the mic. Back up
- 24:21Speaker 3: the mic.
- 24:22Speaker 18: There's so many people that still are like, wait, you
- 24:24Speaker 18: can use these performances.
- 24:26Speaker 5: We are here with Adam and Dee, and I guess
- 24:29Speaker 5: you're here sort of promoting Holliston. We can start with that.
- 24:34Speaker 5: It is, for people who aren't familiar with it, a
- 24:36Speaker 5: real place, and you were spawned there.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yes, I grew up there.
- 24:41Speaker 18: I guess, what was it that made you want to
- 24:44Speaker 18: tell that story?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Well, I mean, the show is really my story. I mean,
- 24:49Speaker 1: it's about the struggle of trying to become a horror
- 24:50Speaker 1: filmmaker and about that time in your life right out
- 24:53Speaker 1: of college when nothing's working out like it was supposed to,
- 24:57Speaker 1: which that's the part that they don't really tell you.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's like, oh, if you go to college and you
- 25:01Speaker 1: get a degree, then you get a job, then you
- 25:03Speaker 1: get married. But they don't tell you how much it
- 25:05Speaker 1: sucks in between all that when your friends are all
- 25:08Speaker 1: getting married and getting jobs.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Life sucks.
- 25:11Speaker 18: I can go along with that.
- 25:12Speaker 1: But if you can laugh at it, then you can
- 25:16Speaker 1: get through it. And that's really what the show is about.
- 25:18Speaker 1: And originally, there were so many different names for this
- 25:20Speaker 1: over the years. And it was actually somebody in the
- 25:24Speaker 1: marketing department at FearNet who said, well, why don't we
- 25:27Speaker 1: just name it after that fictitious town that you said
- 25:29Speaker 1: it in? And Joe Lynch was like, oh, it's a real, like, yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: let's do that. And so now to all those teachers
- 25:37Speaker 1: who said I would never make it. Like, now they
- 25:40Speaker 1: have to know about it because the show is called Halston.
- 25:42Speaker 1: So really, this is not even about a show. It's
- 25:44Speaker 1: just about redemption. That was really, it's the only reason
- 25:46Speaker 1: I did this.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Revenge.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yes, revenge.
- 25:48Speaker 3: I totally get that.
- 25:50Speaker 5: So I guess really it was Coffee and Donuts that
- 25:53Speaker 5: was sort of the test version of this?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the first movie I ever tried to
- 25:58Speaker 1: make when I got a job making bad cable commercials.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I stole their equipment and made a feature called Coffee
- 26:03Speaker 1: and Donuts.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Who would advise you to steal the equipment?
- 26:06Speaker 1: This guy is right here. He's been my guardian angel
- 26:09Speaker 1: and mentor and idol my whole life.
- 26:12Speaker 12: You said you had stolen the equipment and you were
- 26:15Speaker 12: stopping stealing it.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I just said, continue to steal it. I just advised you.
- 26:21Speaker 1: His exact words were actually so... Because I got caught
- 26:24Speaker 1: borrowing and stealing the equipment and I thought I was
- 26:26Speaker 1: going to lose my job. And he said, do you
- 26:28Speaker 1: want to make cable commercials forever? Do you want to
- 26:30Speaker 1: make movies? I said, I want to make movies.
- 26:32Speaker 3: He said.
- 26:33Speaker 1: We could get back in there and steal the fucking aquarium. So, yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 1: but I don't even remember what the question was. Oh, yeah,
- 26:41Speaker 1: Coffee and Donuts.
- 26:41Speaker 3: It really does mirror the show. Is there actually a
- 26:45Speaker 3: Coffee and Donuts visual? DVD?
- 26:48Speaker 1: Yes. Because we didn't really know what we were doing,
- 26:51Speaker 1: we used, like, Aerosmith songs. We used, like, just the
- 26:55Speaker 1: Righteous Brothers.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Every.
- 26:58Speaker 1: frame of that movie has caught like three different copyright
- 27:00Speaker 1: infringements on it we were just trying to make a
- 27:04Speaker 1: movie and then um disney touchstone ended up buying it
- 27:08Speaker 1: um to turn into a tv series which was still
- 27:10Speaker 1: called coffee and donuts which i wrote for upn um
- 27:14Speaker 1: who tried to turn it into a urban like i'm
- 27:17Speaker 1: the only one who didn't see that coming by the
- 27:18Speaker 1: way everyone's like you know this isn't gonna work right
- 27:20Speaker 1: i'm like what do you mean it's upn um but
- 27:23Speaker 1: when they became the, uh, the WB or the CW.
- 27:27Speaker 3: The title needed to be changed. Yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 14: You are so UPN.
- 27:30Speaker 18: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I know. I know.
- 27:32Speaker 1: So, but most people do think, you know, urban stuff
- 27:35Speaker 1: when they look at me, you know, pretty, uh.
- 27:37Speaker 3: Urban, urban, urban, or lame one of the other.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Well, you, you mentioned him inspiring you, I guess. How
- 27:47Speaker 5: did you come into contact with the, at some point?
- 27:50Speaker 1: Uh, It is such a long story, but if you
- 27:53Speaker 1: look up on YouTube or on my site, Ariescope.com, and
- 27:56Speaker 1: look up A Twisted Tale, there was a special feature
- 27:59Speaker 1: that came with the Hatchet DVD that is the two
- 28:02Speaker 1: of us telling that story in eight minutes. But basically,
- 28:05Speaker 1: D was my idol ever since I first heard A
- 28:08Speaker 1: Twisted Sister record. The message that I got from it
- 28:10Speaker 1: was that you can't let anybody tell you no or
- 28:13Speaker 1: that you can't do something. And through my whole life,
- 28:17Speaker 1: that inspired me. And then one day, I ended up uh,
- 28:20Speaker 1: meeting him at a show because I got there very
- 28:22Speaker 1: early and I had this letter that I was going
- 28:24Speaker 1: to throw on the stage and he actually received the
- 28:27Speaker 1: letter and read it and, um, and responded. And, and
- 28:31Speaker 1: ever since it's been, it's a, it's a crazy story,
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, cause it's like, you know, you'll meet people
- 28:36Speaker 1: you idolize or celebrities and nine out of 10 times you're,
- 28:39Speaker 1: it's just, they live up to it, but not like this.
- 28:42Speaker 1: It's not just like, Oh yeah, he was a nice guy.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I mean, it's like our families are very tight at
- 28:47Speaker 1: this point. Like, I mean, he married my wife and I,
- 28:50Speaker 1: His son became my assistant, who I mentored into filmmaking,
- 28:54Speaker 1: who has a short film that premieres at the Tribeca
- 28:56Speaker 1: Film Festival in two weeks. It's a crazy, crazy story.
- 29:02Speaker 3: It's really involved, and I didn't even realize what was
- 29:04Speaker 3: going on.
- 29:05Speaker 12: He kept running into me at crucial moments in his
- 29:09Speaker 12: career at different events, and.
- 29:12Speaker 3: Just Oh, I would have like a heavy metal Yoda
- 29:14Speaker 3: or something.
- 29:16Speaker 12: And, uh, and I've apparently just gave the right words
- 29:20Speaker 12: of inspiration, which is just my nature. You know, when
- 29:23Speaker 12: I see someone who's giving up to say, to be
- 29:25Speaker 12: the cheerleader and then, uh, I didn't even realize this,
- 29:29Speaker 12: you know, these chance meetings.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Kept happening multiple times.
- 29:33Speaker 12: And, um, and then one day I get an email
- 29:35Speaker 12: that I nearly, deleted because I didn't recognize.
- 29:38Speaker 3: The address, but it said, hello again. And I said, again?
- 29:41Speaker 3: I said, it was almost a swear. I was like,
- 29:44Speaker 3: let me just read it.
- 29:46Speaker 12: And it was this whole letter about having met all
- 29:48Speaker 12: these times and how I had just cheered him on
- 29:53Speaker 12: sort of unwittingly through these tough times. And now Hatchet
- 29:56Speaker 12: was at Tribeca. And he said, and you sent me
- 30:00Speaker 12: a letter a long time ago. And I said that,
- 30:03Speaker 12: he's saying that, you know, one day we'll be at
- 30:05Speaker 12: some big movie premiere and, and we'll, I'll see you
- 30:07Speaker 12: at the after party or whatever. And he says, I
- 30:10Speaker 12: just wanted to invite you, but I don't. And I
- 30:11Speaker 12: picked up the phone. I said, so where's the party?
- 30:14Speaker 11: And he came.
- 30:15Speaker 3: And that was the first time we met. I just
- 30:17Speaker 3: showed up and he met me at the red carpet.
- 30:18Speaker 12: My family came out and we sat together and, uh,
- 30:22Speaker 12: and saw the movie and went to the party after.
- 30:23Speaker 3: And, uh, We've been friends ever since.
- 30:25Speaker 1: But it was the craziest way to have your first
- 30:27Speaker 1: red carpet because I'm standing there and I'm like, nobody
- 30:29Speaker 1: wants to talk to me whatsoever. Then all of a
- 30:31Speaker 1: sudden he shows up and VH1 and everybody's running over
- 30:34Speaker 1: there and it was like, I'm just.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I think we went from like, hello. And then we've
- 30:40Speaker 3: just walked away, caught me together doing interviews. And then,
- 30:44Speaker 3: and then, you know, he did.
- 30:46Speaker 1: All the interviews. They're like, so tell us about hatching.
- 30:48Speaker 1: He's like, cause I couldn't speak. I'm just smiling. I'm like,
- 30:50Speaker 1: this is amazing.
- 30:51Speaker 3: One of the.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Important things though, that I always want to get across
- 30:55Speaker 1: when we tell this story though, is that what he
- 30:57Speaker 1: was talking about, there were all these like chance meetings
- 31:00Speaker 1: and that's really what they were. Like there were just
- 31:01Speaker 1: times when we would just cross paths. It wasn't, um,
- 31:06Speaker 1: relentlessly writing to a celebrity on Facebook or stalking them
- 31:08Speaker 1: or sending them letters or doing like it just, we
- 31:11Speaker 1: would just bump, we just would cross paths and it
- 31:13Speaker 1: was always at the right time. And it was a
- 31:15Speaker 1: very organic way to do it. But there's a lot
- 31:17Speaker 1: of people who hear this story who then start now
- 31:20Speaker 1: stalking me with stuff. And it's like, well, just you're
- 31:22Speaker 1: my D Snyder. I'm like, okay, a, I'm not that cool.
- 31:26Speaker 1: B I like, we don't have a 25 year relationship
- 31:30Speaker 1: of serendipitously like running into each other. Like you just
- 31:32Speaker 1: roll me a letter, man. It's very different. Like, and
- 31:35Speaker 1: I can't do anything for you. So, yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 12: And it's that, it's those, just the way this has
- 31:39Speaker 12: happened that has me doing Holliston. Because when he first
- 31:45Speaker 12: approached me to be Lance Rocket in the show, and
- 31:47Speaker 12: I said yes, and he just, it just started an endless.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Stream of apologies.
- 31:52Speaker 12: For how low budget this is and how nickel and
- 31:56Speaker 12: dime and the alien air conditioning this season for a
- 32:01Speaker 12: certain amount of hours. And then he blew it in
- 32:03Speaker 12: the first week and they left the air conditioning on
- 32:05Speaker 12: so we had no AC. So he just apologized. And
- 32:08Speaker 12: one day I said, dude, stop apologizing. This is supposed
- 32:11Speaker 12: to be. I'm here because... I think that I'm supposed
- 32:15Speaker 12: to be here. It's like that weird moment with Richard
- 32:17Speaker 12: Dreyfuss and we're supposed to be here.
- 32:19Speaker 3: It's just, I.
- 32:21Speaker 12: See all these things happen and how we all have
- 32:23Speaker 12: our chance meetings and we've come to this point.
- 32:26Speaker 3: So I am supposed to be here.
- 32:27Speaker 1: And it's not just for me. Joe Lynch, who also
- 32:30Speaker 1: stars in the show, Joe's father was also a friend
- 32:33Speaker 1: of these.
- 32:34Speaker 12: Yeah, I was friends with Joe's dad, who was a customer,
- 32:38Speaker 12: he passed away. a custom car guy, and he worked
- 32:40Speaker 12: on my cars, and we became really good friends. He
- 32:42Speaker 12: was always telling me about his son Joe, who was
- 32:44Speaker 12: making videos, and Joe, and Joe, and Joe, and Joe.
- 32:46Speaker 12: And I knew the whole family before I knew Joe,
- 32:48Speaker 12: which was frustrating to Joe, since he was the actual
- 32:51Speaker 12: Twisted fan.
- 32:52Speaker 3: So I finally one day meet Joe.
- 32:54Speaker 12: At a horror convention, another competing horror convention, Fangoria, I think,
- 32:58Speaker 12: and he said, I'm Joe Lynch.
- 33:00Speaker 3: And I was like, holy crap. So again, just how
- 33:03Speaker 3: does that happen?
- 33:06Speaker 12: So it really is meant to be, and like he said,
- 33:08Speaker 12: my sons work with him, Cody. And now Cody's first
- 33:12Speaker 12: short has been accepted to Tribeca, and we're going to
- 33:15Speaker 12: his premiere.
- 33:15Speaker 3: So it's actually pretty wonderful, actually, the way things have happened.
- 33:21Speaker 3: I love the ride. It's great.
- 33:23Speaker 14: Definitely.
- 33:26Speaker 5: I'm assuming you've always been interested in horror, but I
- 33:28Speaker 5: guess what made you want to sort of cross into
- 33:31Speaker 5: it from the performing? Was it Strangeland, or before that,
- 33:33Speaker 5: did you really want to get into it?
- 33:36Speaker 3: You know, I was a big horror fan, of course.
- 33:39Speaker 12: And Strangeland, you know, I got into writing screenplays and
- 33:43Speaker 12: trying to learn that process from doing the rock videos.
- 33:47Speaker 12: And I wrote Strangeland out of frustration at the time.
- 33:51Speaker 12: And it was late 80s, early 90s, when just like
- 33:55Speaker 12: the horror world was just so pathetic with our biggest
- 33:58Speaker 12: villains and by biggest villains. Chucky and the leprechaun. And
- 34:04Speaker 12: I remember screaming at the TV.
- 34:05Speaker 13: Going, step on him!
- 34:07Speaker 18: It's a leprechaun!
- 34:09Speaker 3: Come on!
- 34:11Speaker 12: I mean, what is going on here? I'm watching a leprechaun.
- 34:15Speaker 12: And I'm like, leprechaun! And my kid was actually afraid.
- 34:21Speaker 11: It was Cody.
- 34:22Speaker 3: He said, man up! It's a leprechaun. I'll make you afraid.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Go to sleep. I'll come to your room in the
- 34:28Speaker 3: middle of the night.
- 34:30Speaker 12: So anyway, and it was just, you know, again, just
- 34:33Speaker 12: writing and just a love for horror and just wanting
- 34:36Speaker 12: to just get into the trenches and start doing it.
- 34:39Speaker 12: And then the connection became stronger and stronger and started
- 34:42Speaker 12: doing a horror radio show and, you know, it goes
- 34:44Speaker 12: from there.
- 34:45Speaker 5: Well, then I guess.
- 34:47Speaker 18: once you set up the.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Framework of the show, where you, I mean, again, he
- 34:51Speaker 5: was apologizing, but you were okay with working in like
- 34:54Speaker 5: a very, it's working to be like a standard sitcom format.
- 34:59Speaker 18: So it's, I guess it was okay crossing over into that.
- 35:02Speaker 12: Well, I just, you know, I like doing new and
- 35:05Speaker 12: challenging things. And if it's new and challenging, it intrigues me.
- 35:09Speaker 12: I'll put up with anything. But don't treat me with
- 35:13Speaker 12: respect at a rock show.
- 35:14Speaker 3: We've got a problem.
- 35:16Speaker 12: So I'll be like, hey, whatever we've got to do, man,
- 35:19Speaker 12: at the rock show.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I'm like, where is my catering?
- 35:22Speaker 12: I can't possibly go on without the M &.
- 35:26Speaker 3: M' s. Not the Redwoods. What did I tell you?
- 35:32Speaker 12: So it just was new. I did Broadway for a
- 35:36Speaker 12: few months, and I'm just so intrigued by a new challenge.
- 35:39Speaker 12: And so that was just fun to do a sitcom.
- 35:43Speaker 12: My only regret is, can.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I say that? We really never get a chance to
- 35:47Speaker 3: do it in traditional form.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Well, his scenes don't.
- 35:50Speaker 3: My scenes and Dave's too.
- 35:52Speaker 1: And Dave's. Because just scheduling wise, we basically shoot all
- 35:57Speaker 1: of these scenes in like a two, three day period,
- 36:00Speaker 1: which is... Really intense because it's all these very extravagant
- 36:03Speaker 1: wardrobe changes and stuff. And Suzette, his wife, did his
- 36:06Speaker 1: hair and makeup this year in his wardrobe. And, I mean,
- 36:09Speaker 1: it's just the most extravagant, craziest outfits. Sometimes upwards of
- 36:13Speaker 1: like three hours just to get them into the stuff.
- 36:15Speaker 1: And then we shoot for 15 minutes and.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Then he's out.
- 36:17Speaker 12: Oh, I love the one where I walked out on
- 36:19Speaker 12: the set and I go, and he goes, we're out
- 36:21Speaker 12: of time, dude. It took three hours to get ready.
- 36:23Speaker 12: That was the moment. I just wanted to go, hey,
- 36:25Speaker 12: we're out of time.
- 36:26Speaker 3: And I'm like, what? And then the show ends. It's
- 36:28Speaker 3: one of the funniest. Because I wasn't in the show.
- 36:31Speaker 1: It's one of the funniest gags. It's like what happens
- 36:34Speaker 1: is I start, because we break the fourth wall a
- 36:36Speaker 1: lot on the show. So there's all these outtakes because
- 36:39Speaker 1: I keep laughing through the scene and I'm destroying it.
- 36:41Speaker 1: And then he comes out in the most extravagant costume
- 36:44Speaker 1: you've ever seen. And we go, oh, sorry, the show's over.
- 36:46Speaker 3: So that was it. I just walk out. And then
- 36:51Speaker 3: we go, okay, now get changed. We have to do
- 36:52Speaker 3: the next one. I was like, that's what it was like.
- 36:54Speaker 12: But the point is because of they don't have the
- 36:57Speaker 12: money to pay me and Dave so we could say
- 37:01Speaker 12: we don't have to work.
- 37:03Speaker 3: We have to work. We do what we do. We
- 37:05Speaker 3: don't get a chance to do that.
- 37:07Speaker 12: I can't wait for the time to do traditional sitcoms,
- 37:10Speaker 12: sit at the table, do a read together, shoot it chronologically,
- 37:15Speaker 12: and do a real sitcom. Unfortunately, I always have to
- 37:18Speaker 12: shoot my scenes and Dave's scenes out in like a week,
- 37:22Speaker 12: and then we take off and we go back to
- 37:23Speaker 12: whatever else we do.
- 37:24Speaker 1: And then the rest of the stuff is shot with
- 37:27Speaker 1: a small audience, but that's the only way that we
- 37:29Speaker 1: know the timing on the jokes is by hearing when
- 37:32Speaker 1: people laugh. And then we sweeten that and fill that
- 37:34Speaker 1: in later. But we're actually one of the only shows
- 37:37Speaker 1: that still has any type of live audience. Because like
- 37:40Speaker 1: Big Bang and How I Met Your Mother, they don't
- 37:42Speaker 1: have an audience at all. Which is crazy because I
- 37:44Speaker 1: don't know if you've ever looked it up. If you
- 37:46Speaker 1: look up those shows on YouTube, there's a version of
- 37:48Speaker 1: Big Bang Theory without the laugh track. It is amazing.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I mean, because it's just like I'm wearing pants. Silence
- 37:57Speaker 1: for like 10 seconds and then so am I. And
- 38:00Speaker 1: it's like, oh my God, like this isn't funny at all. Like, um,
- 38:04Speaker 1: so at least ours without the laugh track is still funny. Um,
- 38:08Speaker 1: but yeah, it's been, you know, we did a sitcom
- 38:10Speaker 1: for horror fans and a lot of horror fans don't
- 38:12Speaker 1: watch sitcoms. So we were, I was like, are they
- 38:14Speaker 1: going to hang with this? Are they going to get it?
- 38:16Speaker 1: And they did. And they did in, um, in a
- 38:19Speaker 1: huge way really quickly, which was, um, really overwhelming because
- 38:23Speaker 1: we were expecting the worst. We were like, all right,
- 38:25Speaker 1: this is so different that everyone's just going to hate it.
- 38:27Speaker 1: And they didn't. And you get a few comments of like,
- 38:30Speaker 1: what's with the laugh track? Because they've never seen a
- 38:31Speaker 1: show with a laugh track before. But even then, they still,
- 38:34Speaker 1: you know, you watch a couple of them, you get
- 38:36Speaker 1: into it. And this season is just incredible.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Really lowered the bar.
- 38:43Speaker 5: I think it works because you, like, I think everybody
- 38:46Speaker 5: identifies with you guys in particular because you guys are very, like,
- 38:50Speaker 5: normal horror geeks you know and you that's the sad
- 38:53Speaker 5: part is I was like I was thinking I need
- 38:54Speaker 5: to do a web series I was like I think
- 38:55Speaker 5: you guys already did it like I was like you're
- 38:58Speaker 5: wearing my outfits every episode it's sad I was like.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah I'll be stealing my show.
- 39:05Speaker 1: It's you know I think you see it in music
- 39:08Speaker 1: a lot like a band will come along that they
- 39:11Speaker 1: just like people identify with what they're saying or what
- 39:14Speaker 1: they're doing and it's like all you can do is
- 39:16Speaker 1: be you and that's all this is is written for
- 39:18Speaker 1: it's all my personal stories and even the characters like
- 39:21Speaker 1: lance rocket like what's really funny about it is you
- 39:24Speaker 1: have Dee Snider playing a guy that 20 years ago,
- 39:28Speaker 1: there were people that thought that that's what he was
- 39:29Speaker 1: really like. And he was never like that. But I
- 39:33Speaker 1: had a job to make ends meet when I was
- 39:34Speaker 1: struggling at the Rainbow Bar and Grill, which is this
- 39:37Speaker 1: like heavy metal hangout on the Sunset Strip. And the
- 39:41Speaker 1: people that still go there, like every Friday and Saturday night,
- 39:44Speaker 1: they are Lance Rocket. Like they still think it's coming back.
- 39:48Speaker 1: It's like, you know, they're talking about how, like, Trickster's
- 39:50Speaker 1: going to tour again and, like, they're probably going to
- 39:53Speaker 1: sell out everywhere. It's like, no, they're not, man. It's
- 39:55Speaker 1: not happening. But they come in the leather pants and
- 39:56Speaker 1: the makeup and the whole thing. And that was really
- 39:58Speaker 1: where I got the idea for having this sort of
- 40:01Speaker 1: delusional boss. But, like, this season, Lance, because we're facing
- 40:05Speaker 1: the cable station being shut down, starts focusing on a
- 40:08Speaker 1: more realistic career for himself. So he starts writing original
- 40:11Speaker 1: Van Halen songs.
- 40:14Speaker 3: As opposed to just doing Van Halen covers. Yeah.
- 40:16Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 40:17Speaker 1: But we actually do a song in the season finale.
- 40:20Speaker 1: He unleashes his first song called Love It Down Your Throat.
- 40:24Speaker 1: a music video for it that's going to come out
- 40:25Speaker 1: and everything. And his son, Cody, directed the music video.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Which he's not so sure he wants credit for.
- 40:31Speaker 1: He wants credit to Lance Rocket.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Yes. He said, I'm going to continue. Because it's supposed
- 40:36Speaker 3: to be bad.
- 40:37Speaker 12: And as any filmmaker, you don't go and you're trying
- 40:40Speaker 12: to make a good movie, not a bad movie. And
- 40:44Speaker 12: Cody's got already some award-winning rock videos that he's done
- 40:47Speaker 12: for bands like Motionless and White. videos of the year
- 40:50Speaker 12: in Revolver and Kerrang. So he's like, because we live
- 40:55Speaker 12: in the same house. So he called me and he goes,
- 40:56Speaker 12: I can't. I have a problem with this. And he's like,
- 41:00Speaker 12: it's too good. Throw in some more.
- 41:02Speaker 3: It's too good. He's like, I can't put my name
- 41:04Speaker 3: on this.
- 41:05Speaker 1: There was a shot where the drummer tried to spin
- 41:06Speaker 1: his sticks and dropped it and had to stop and
- 41:08Speaker 1: go pick it up.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Put that in. He's like, oh, God. My microphone cord
- 41:12Speaker 3: got caught in my chiffon.
- 41:15Speaker 12: And I'm like trying to get untangled.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Leave it, leave it, he's saying.
- 41:19Speaker 1: But Cody had the brilliant idea that Lance would do
- 41:21Speaker 1: stuff that only he thinks is cool. Like it's a
- 41:23Speaker 1: song called Love It Down Your Throat. He's like, but
- 41:25Speaker 1: he'd have a samurai sword.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I'm like.
- 41:27Speaker 5: Why?
- 41:28Speaker 1: He's like, why not? And he'd fight a tiger at
- 41:31Speaker 1: one point and he would just be kicking down doors
- 41:33Speaker 1: because it's cool and all that's in there.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Which is, I'm actually, I'm reading, you read the book?
- 41:37Speaker 3: Did you say you read?
- 41:39Speaker 12: They pointed that out, that people would just have things, say, oh,
- 41:42Speaker 12: I want to do this. I want to be, Bon Jovi,
- 41:46Speaker 12: there's a book called I Want My MTV.
- 41:47Speaker 3: I want to just fly across the stage. Okay. Or
- 41:51Speaker 3: we want a lion. I want a tiger in there.
- 41:53Speaker 12: And people, that's what they do, except when I want
- 41:56Speaker 12: a tiger, it's a stuffed tiger.
- 41:58Speaker 3: And then I fight it. I fight it and win.
- 42:01Speaker 3: With a lot of those little videos.
- 42:03Speaker 12: I think at one point, I opened up fucking.
- 42:06Speaker 18: Episode three.
- 42:07Speaker 11: Those are the words.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Fuck the tiger.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Fuck the tiger.
- 42:11Speaker 18: There's a lot of those old videos that there's weird
- 42:13Speaker 18: stuff going on.
- 42:14Speaker 3: You're like, what inspired this?
- 42:16Speaker 1: So, yeah, that's... Yeah, it's about a video from last
- 42:19Speaker 1: in line with everybody, like, getting, like, cut and, like,
- 42:21Speaker 1: green stuff spewing everywhere.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Like, what was that?
- 42:26Speaker 18: Well, the real question is, when is Diver Down going
- 42:28Speaker 18: on tour?
- 42:30Speaker 1: You know, I hope someday, like what Dee was just saying, that, like,
- 42:32Speaker 1: there is the show... Because it is growing, and it's
- 42:35Speaker 1: growing very fast. And it would be great to get
- 42:37Speaker 1: to the point that we can do it in a
- 42:38Speaker 1: traditional way where everybody... can be there for the whole
- 42:41Speaker 1: run of the show and shoot it in front of
- 42:43Speaker 1: an audience each week, like, like you're supposed to do
- 42:45Speaker 1: and not have to sort of shoot it like a
- 42:47Speaker 1: feature film the way we do it. Cause I mean,
- 42:49Speaker 1: as much as it is low budget, it's not that
- 42:51Speaker 1: low budget. I mean like the show looks just as
- 42:54Speaker 1: good as anything else on a network. And, um, and
- 42:57Speaker 1: so we're just, we're really careful with how we do
- 42:59Speaker 1: it so that we can't have all the money on
- 43:01Speaker 1: the screen. But if that could happen, it's.
- 43:04Speaker 12: Like, and no wasting money on AC or, So we
- 43:09Speaker 12: look a little glistening.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Yeah. But you know, there's like, there's always that dream
- 43:16Speaker 1: of like, you know, just one time only at like,
- 43:19Speaker 1: you know, something like a San Diego comic con or whatever.
- 43:21Speaker 1: And cause I mean like between like Guar and, and
- 43:24Speaker 1: then D and then Corey, who's like amazing country singer too.
- 43:27Speaker 1: But like just one time to have everybody singing on
- 43:31Speaker 1: stage together in some way. But like last night we
- 43:33Speaker 1: all went to dinner and this is the first time
- 43:36Speaker 1: that the entire, all six of us are in the
- 43:38Speaker 1: same place at the same time. It never happens because
- 43:41Speaker 1: D comes in for his stuff and then he's gone
- 43:43Speaker 1: and then the new set is up and then Odorous
- 43:45Speaker 1: is there and then he's gone. And so we've never
- 43:47Speaker 1: actually sat and read a script together before ever. So
- 43:51Speaker 1: today at 5 we're going to do that for the
- 43:52Speaker 1: first time. But I felt like my mom last night.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Like whenever the family gets together, my mom, you know,
- 43:58Speaker 1: she just sits back and watches because she's so happy
- 44:00Speaker 1: to have everybody in one place.
- 44:02Speaker 3: It was a TGI Friday, which was ironic. Because it
- 44:04Speaker 3: was Friday.
- 44:05Speaker 1: It was Friday. And we were really thankful.
- 44:07Speaker 11: Thank God.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Thank God it was Friday. Thank God it was Friday.
- 44:10Speaker 18: I'm just imagining the table next to you.
- 44:12Speaker 1: No, they were all freaking out. See, at least for Dave,
- 44:16Speaker 1: you know, Odorous, unless he's in that costume, nobody.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Knows what he looks like.
- 44:19Speaker 18: That's what I was going to say. I was hoping
- 44:20Speaker 18: he was wearing the costume for Friday.
- 44:22Speaker 1: But he's the most recognizable face ever, so there's no
- 44:25Speaker 1: hiding that. But no, everybody was cool with the conversations.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Because Corey's English is pregnant right now and people are
- 44:32Speaker 1: talking about eating babies and placentas and like... Nursing.
- 44:36Speaker 11: Nursing.
- 44:38Speaker 5: It was.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Area 51. World War II. It was all over the place. Stalingrad.
- 44:43Speaker 8: Stalingrad.
- 44:44Speaker 12: 70th anniversary of Stalingrad which Dave is going to for
- 44:47Speaker 12: some reason for his birthday.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 44:50Speaker 15: Why not?
- 44:50Speaker 1: But being able to sit back and watch this because
- 44:53Speaker 1: these are all my favorite people from all these different
- 44:55Speaker 1: facets of my life and of course... You're always hoping
- 44:59Speaker 1: your friends will get along with each other and like
- 45:01Speaker 1: each other as much as you do. And the fact
- 45:03Speaker 1: that it clicked so instantly with everybody was just great.
- 45:06Speaker 1: And then Dave, especially from GWAR, like, you know, he's
- 45:09Speaker 1: got to be Dave from GWAR, but he's a huge
- 45:11Speaker 1: Twisted fan, a huge D fan. And it's all he
- 45:12Speaker 1: ever says is just like, I can't believe I'm on
- 45:14Speaker 1: a show with D. And he's so nice. He's so great.
- 45:17Speaker 3: It's just awesome.
- 45:18Speaker 18: Did you already have the GWAR connection, or did you
- 45:21Speaker 18: have to reach out to him?
- 45:22Speaker 1: I had to reach out to him, but from the
- 45:24Speaker 1: conception of the show, there was always the alien in
- 45:27Speaker 1: my closet. And as a GWAR fan since I was 14,
- 45:30Speaker 1: I was always like, wouldn't it be great to get it?
- 45:32Speaker 1: But in my 14-year-old mind, I'm like, we could never.
- 45:36Speaker 1: ever get him. That guy is so.
- 45:37Speaker 3: It's like me getting Niedermeyer for the video. Yes, that's it.
- 45:41Speaker 1: When I went, I said, what.
- 45:43Speaker 12: Do you see as the dad? Well, someone like the
- 45:46Speaker 12: guy who plays Niedermeyer, like that kind of guy. And
- 45:48Speaker 12: our doctor goes, why don't we get him?
- 45:50Speaker 3: What is he doing? We're going to cure for cancer?
- 45:52Speaker 3: Because it works inside the whole house. So I was like.
- 45:55Speaker 5: Really?
- 45:55Speaker 12: It was like $ 1, 000.
- 45:57Speaker 3: Which is what we paid for Dave. Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 1: When I met with him, I set it up through
- 46:02Speaker 1: Metal Blade. I went backstage to one of their shows.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I sat down with him. And he's just like, so.
- 46:05Speaker 3: What is this?
- 46:06Speaker 1: I'm like, well, it's a sitcom. He's like, wait, stop.
- 46:08Speaker 1: You want Odorous on a sitcom.
- 46:10Speaker 11: I'm like, yeah.
- 46:10Speaker 1: He's like, all right. I'm like, done. That was it.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Five seconds.
- 46:13Speaker 1: And I'm like, well, the money's not. I don't care.
- 46:15Speaker 1: He's like, I wanted to use his footage.
- 46:17Speaker 12: I saw his interview as Odorous when we were doing
- 46:21Speaker 12: the EPK interview. Did you use his in anything? That
- 46:24Speaker 12: was something. So he goes, so this kid comes in
- 46:27Speaker 12: and he comes in and he says, I'm doing a show.
- 46:29Speaker 3: And I said, fine, okay. And a year later he
- 46:30Speaker 3: comes in, it's getting there, we're getting there. I said, fine.
- 46:32Speaker 3: And then one year he rolls in with this big
- 46:34Speaker 3: fat record exec so I know it's serious.
- 46:39Speaker 19: He comes from a big fat record executive so I
- 46:44Speaker 19: know on that record he's a.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Movie executive I know he's serious every time he opens
- 46:48Speaker 1: his mouth it's Peter Park it's gonna.
- 46:51Speaker 20: Be a problem classics every time well I guess to
- 46:56Speaker 20: cross over a little I mean you I guess really
- 46:58Speaker 20: broke through with Hatchet again assuming you watched a lot
- 47:02Speaker 20: of slashers growing up what was it that made you
- 47:05Speaker 20: want to do Hatchet and to try to do it your.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Way Um, I'm actually, you know, I like the slashers because,
- 47:11Speaker 1: you know, I grew up in the heyday of Halloween
- 47:14Speaker 1: and Nightmare on Elm Street and all that stuff. But
- 47:16Speaker 1: for me, it was really just as a horror fan,
- 47:18Speaker 1: I was so disenchanted with what I was getting because,
- 47:21Speaker 1: you know, in the 90s, we had Scream, which was
- 47:23Speaker 1: a genius movie. But then all the knockoffs of the
- 47:26Speaker 1: teen whodunits and there was no more gore. There was
- 47:28Speaker 1: no more monster. There was no more fantasy. And then
- 47:31Speaker 1: it got to the point that there was no more fun.
- 47:33Speaker 1: because it was either a remake or a torture movie,
- 47:35Speaker 1: and it was all about how mean-spirited and depraved you
- 47:39Speaker 1: can be. And those movies were all actually ripping him off,
- 47:41Speaker 1: because Strangeland was the first movie that was a torture movie.
- 47:44Speaker 1: And so I just wanted to make a movie that
- 47:48Speaker 1: was fun again. And so I had a lot of trouble, though,
- 47:51Speaker 1: with that script, because people would read it, and they're laughing,
- 47:53Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden it's... intensely gory and
- 47:55Speaker 1: scary and they're like well what wait it's got to
- 47:58Speaker 1: be one or the other like nobody's gonna and they
- 48:00Speaker 1: are right to some extent like horror comedy it never
- 48:03Speaker 1: crosses over at the box office so I'm very fortunate
- 48:06Speaker 1: that like worldwide the movie has struck such a great
- 48:09Speaker 1: audience and then now the third one's gonna come out
- 48:11Speaker 1: in two months I never would have thought I just
- 48:14Speaker 1: wanted to make the movie I wanted to see and
- 48:15Speaker 1: then hope that it proved that I was competent enough
- 48:18Speaker 1: to make a movie and then you know lead to
- 48:20Speaker 1: what I wanted to do next. And the fact that
- 48:21Speaker 1: it's now a franchise is, it's incredible. Like just seeing
- 48:24Speaker 1: people at these conventions with their own Victor Crowley costumes. And, um,
- 48:28Speaker 1: but it's, you know, like I was saying before about
- 48:30Speaker 1: a show that just, it just speaks to people like they,
- 48:33Speaker 1: they identify with it. And I think a lot of
- 48:36Speaker 1: people felt the same way I did at that point.
- 48:38Speaker 1: So when Hatchet came out, they, they felt like it
- 48:41Speaker 1: was for them because it did remind them of why
- 48:43Speaker 1: they got into this in the first place. But, when
- 48:46Speaker 1: I got into horror, it wasn't to see women get
- 48:48Speaker 1: brutally raped realistically for no reason or strapped to a
- 48:51Speaker 1: chair and tortured. And, um, there's, you know, there's certain
- 48:54Speaker 1: things and it's, it's always sucks. Cause it's like, I'm
- 48:56Speaker 1: the guy made hatchet. And so there's all these people
- 48:58Speaker 1: that are so let down when they meet me, they're like, wait, you,
- 49:00Speaker 1: you're the guy, like they're expecting somebody much cooler. And,
- 49:03Speaker 1: but I won't ever have a scene with a woman
- 49:05Speaker 1: getting raped. I won't have animal abuse in a movie.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I won't, there's just certain things I just won't do. Um, Now,
- 49:10Speaker 1: in a movie like Irreversible or whatever, yes, you have
- 49:13Speaker 1: to have an intense rape scene because like it's that's
- 49:17Speaker 1: a drama and it all hinges on that but in
- 49:19Speaker 1: a slasher movie if you are going there it's because
- 49:22Speaker 1: you're a fucking terrible filmmaker and you're just trying to
- 49:25Speaker 1: push whatever buttons you can to try to get some
- 49:28Speaker 1: sort of reaction so every time I see one of
- 49:29Speaker 1: those movies where someone's like dude I just made a
- 49:31Speaker 1: movie where we fucked a baby and sewed people's lips
- 49:34Speaker 1: to their assholes and ate shit I'm like you're awesome
- 49:37Speaker 1: man go fuck yourself yeah.
- 49:39Speaker 5: Are you okay with handing it off to somebody else,
- 49:42Speaker 5: since it was so personal to begin with?
- 49:44Speaker 1: I was okay handing it off at first, because I
- 49:47Speaker 1: was ready to hand it off. Like, I can't keep
- 49:49Speaker 1: making hatchet movies forever, but I did want to see
- 49:51Speaker 1: it go on. And I wrote it, I produced it,
- 49:53Speaker 1: I cast it, it was all my crew, it was
- 49:55Speaker 1: all the same people. I mean, it was kind of
- 49:57Speaker 1: like being the ultimate puppet master, because there was nothing
- 50:00Speaker 1: anybody could do without me okaying it. I still had
- 50:02Speaker 1: a final cut on the movie, so... it was a
- 50:05Speaker 1: very safe way to pass off. It wasn't like I
- 50:08Speaker 1: had to just see what happened, what somebody else did.
- 50:10Speaker 1: And ultimately ended up being a lot more involved than
- 50:12Speaker 1: I ever thought I was going to have to be. Um,
- 50:15Speaker 1: but ultimately I do think that, um, BJ and the
- 50:19Speaker 1: crew and everybody did a very good job in the movie.
- 50:22Speaker 1: It's really cool. I mean, it looks a lot bigger
- 50:24Speaker 1: than the other two because we just were able to
- 50:27Speaker 1: put money in the right places. And, um, But you
- 50:31Speaker 1: never know what the fans are going to think.
- 50:33Speaker 3: My son Cody is one of the co-stars in the movie.
- 50:36Speaker 1: And he steals the movie.
- 50:36Speaker 12: The same one who he mentored and is a director
- 50:39Speaker 12: and a writer. And he got him because he is
- 50:42Speaker 12: a character. So he told Cody, I want you to
- 50:44Speaker 12: be in the movie. And Cody went down and laid
- 50:48Speaker 12: in the dirt in the swamp.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And he learned so much because he's like, I'm not
- 50:51Speaker 1: an actor. I'm like, you've just got to be you.
- 50:53Speaker 1: And I'm like, but if you want to be a
- 50:55Speaker 1: really good director, act. And watch and see what it's
- 50:57Speaker 1: like on this side of it. and watch, and, like,
- 51:00Speaker 1: watch the director, and see what he does, and then
- 51:01Speaker 1: each night, I'm like, so what did you learn that
- 51:03Speaker 1: you like, what did you learn that you don't do, and, like, um,
- 51:06Speaker 1: he was just, he's, he's like a sith, and he's
- 51:08Speaker 1: this weird ADD type kid, who's, like, all energetic, and
- 51:11Speaker 1: you can't control, but he's always listening, and paying, he's very,
- 51:14Speaker 1: very smart, which is, which is great, um, but yes,
- 51:17Speaker 1: I passed it off, and, um, movie's done, and, uh,
- 51:19Speaker 1: so far, the people we screened it for, their reactions
- 51:21Speaker 1: have been great, and I think the fans will like it, and,
- 51:25Speaker 1: I never know until like two years later. People are like, well,
- 51:26Speaker 1: which one's your favorite out of them?
- 51:28Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I'm still partial to two, to part two, but we'll see.
- 51:34Speaker 18: Partial to Danielle. We did have her on. She's pretty awesome.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Yes, and she's back again in three.
- 51:40Speaker 3: She's amazing.
- 51:41Speaker 5: Well, to bounce back to a different movie story, you're
- 51:44Speaker 5: in one of the best movies.
- 51:45Speaker 18: Ever made, Pee Wee's Big Adventure. How does that happen? Again,
- 51:50Speaker 18: a meeting of great minds and fans. You and Paul Reuben.
- 51:54Speaker 3: I'm surprised to be speaking about this. I'm all over
- 51:58Speaker 3: the map. No, that's okay. That's okay. Actually, I was
- 52:02Speaker 3: a big Pee Wee fan. Pee Wee was not a
- 52:05Speaker 3: kid's guy.
- 52:07Speaker 12: We started out as college and adult weirdo comedy. And
- 52:11Speaker 12: we met at an MTV New Year's party backstage. We
- 52:14Speaker 12: were both making an appearance and it turned out it
- 52:17Speaker 12: was like a mutual admiration thing.
- 52:18Speaker 3: I was like, I love your stuff. Love your stuff.
- 52:20Speaker 3: And then... That was in January. And cut to, I guess, March.
- 52:26Speaker 12: And people reach out to us and say, Pee Wee's
- 52:28Speaker 12: doing a movie.
- 52:30Speaker 3: It turned out Tim Burton, who nobody knew Tim was.
- 52:32Speaker 3: Nobody knew who he was.
- 52:33Speaker 12: Just a weird dude. And wants to know if you'll
- 52:36Speaker 12: be in it. And I said, oh, man, absolutely.
- 52:38Speaker 3: No problem.
- 52:39Speaker 12: And it was like we were doing Five Nights with
- 52:42Speaker 12: Iron Maiden at the Long Beach Arena.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Sold out. Five nights. So we were in town.
- 52:46Speaker 1: It worked out.
- 52:46Speaker 12: I said, so you guys are shooting a rock video
- 52:49Speaker 12: and Pee Wee comes through, blah, blah, blah.
- 52:51Speaker 3: And I said, and what song are we doing? We're
- 52:52Speaker 3: not going to take it? He goes, no. I said,
- 52:54Speaker 3: I want a rock. And he goes, no. He goes,
- 52:56Speaker 3: Burn in Hell. I'm like, yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Pee Wee is cool.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Burn in Hell.
- 53:01Speaker 5: Even more reason for me to like, because Burn in
- 53:04Speaker 5: Hell is one of the best songs.
- 53:05Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:05Speaker 1: But nobody lives like that.
- 53:07Speaker 3: Okay, we're not going to take it.
- 53:09Speaker 11: No, no, man.
- 53:09Speaker 3: Burn in Hell. Like, awesome. Let's do that.
- 53:12Speaker 12: So, uh, And then, you know, but it's a little
- 53:16Speaker 12: Pee-wee situation.
- 53:18Speaker 3: So Pee-wee, when I met him, you know, backstage, you know, hey, man,
- 53:22Speaker 3: what's going on?
- 53:22Speaker 11: Yada, yada, yada.
- 53:23Speaker 3: I'm going out there. Hey, how you doing, guys? Right?
- 53:26Speaker 12: So then I see Pee-wee on the movie set, you know,
- 53:29Speaker 12: a few months later. Still hasn't blown up like big.
- 53:32Speaker 12: And we're just hanging out talking. He's like, yeah, what's
- 53:33Speaker 12: going on?
- 53:34Speaker 3: Oh, okay, okay, okay. You know, and he goes out.
- 53:37Speaker 3: So they cut to.
- 53:39Speaker 12: A year from then. Now he's bigger than Jesus. So
- 53:43Speaker 12: I was like, hey, Pee-wee. I said, hey, I like
- 53:45Speaker 12: the Pee-wee.
- 53:46Speaker 3: In our video. Mr.
- 53:48Speaker 12: Rubens needs time to transform into the Pee-wee character.
- 53:52Speaker 3: I'm like, what? He says, yes, this is a process
- 53:57Speaker 3: that he goes through.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I said, oh, you got it.
- 54:00Speaker 18: And we're trying to get all the red M &
- 54:01Speaker 18: Ms out.
- 54:02Speaker 5: Mr.
- 54:02Speaker 11: Rubens.
- 54:03Speaker 3: So we didn't have Mr.
- 54:05Speaker 12: Rubens in the video because there wasn't enough time for
- 54:07Speaker 12: him to transform into the character. He was spoken a
- 54:11Speaker 12: joint and thrown a switch one year earlier.
- 54:14Speaker 3: Now he has to transform.
- 54:17Speaker 5: The artist that is peewee.
- 54:21Speaker 3: End scene.
- 54:27Speaker 5: Uh, well, I guess just to, to bring it back
- 54:29Speaker 5: around and have you guys plug the show, do, do
- 54:31Speaker 5: you want to, should we push FearNet or, or where's
- 54:34Speaker 5: the best way for people to go find it?
- 54:35Speaker 1: Um, well, the show airs on FearNet on Tuesday nights
- 54:39Speaker 1: at 10 o'clock. The season premieres June 4th. Um, and then, uh,
- 54:43Speaker 1: at least last season, and it should be the same
- 54:45Speaker 1: for this season, the show usually shows up on iTunes
- 54:47Speaker 1: and Hulu and other places like that. Um, usually within
- 54:51Speaker 1: about 24 hours after it airs. So, uh, Yeah, so
- 54:54Speaker 1: there's really no excuse to not see it. There's definitely
- 54:57Speaker 1: a way.
- 54:57Speaker 3: For us to watch it. Unless you're like a total loser.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah, even if you don't get the FearNet network, you
- 55:01Speaker 1: can watch it. But if you don't get FearNet, you
- 55:04Speaker 1: can also demand it from your cable provider. And I
- 55:07Speaker 1: was always skeptical on that. I didn't believe that that worked.
- 55:10Speaker 1: But last season, the fans got... I mean, just in
- 55:12Speaker 1: the month that the show premiered, there was like six
- 55:15Speaker 1: new cities that started carrying it simply because the fans
- 55:17Speaker 1: kept asking for it. So it does work if you
- 55:20Speaker 1: ask for it. I think the number is 877... I
- 55:25Speaker 1: don't know the number.
- 55:26Speaker 3: But, yeah. 877 something.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Google it. 5309.
- 55:32Speaker 5: 8675. Ask Virginia.
- 55:35Speaker 1: There's a phone number with fears in it. Fear 247.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Fuck it.
- 55:40Speaker 3: Just, yeah. Google it. But, yeah.
- 55:41Speaker 1: You can watch it on Fearnet or you can watch
- 55:43Speaker 1: it on iTunes or Hulu. And if you do watch
- 55:46Speaker 1: it and you like it, please, please tell everybody you
- 55:48Speaker 1: know about it.
- 55:49Speaker 2: If you don't like it, keep your mouth shut.
- 55:52Speaker 3: It's, again, I mean, for.
- 55:54Speaker 18: movie fans in general, specifically for horror fans.
- 55:57Speaker 5: It's funny that it's a TV show and a very
- 55:59Speaker 5: sitcom based thing, but it, it crosses over so easily.
- 56:02Speaker 5: I mean, you guys are such movie geeks that it's
- 56:04Speaker 5: constant references and your cutaway scenes that are just straight
- 56:07Speaker 5: out of other movies. And it's, it's, it's a really
- 56:10Speaker 5: good tie in that I think for a TV show
- 56:12Speaker 5: really works well for movie fans.
- 56:13Speaker 12: If I say to people, it's like Spinal Tap in that,
- 56:17Speaker 12: in that if anybody can watch Spinal Tap and enjoy it,
- 56:21Speaker 12: but if you're a heavy metal guy or girl, you
- 56:23Speaker 12: get that much more out of it. You don't have
- 56:26Speaker 12: to be a horror fan to watch Holliston. You can
- 56:29Speaker 12: just enjoy it as a situation comedy, and it's.
- 56:32Speaker 3: A great show.
- 56:33Speaker 12: But if you're a horror geek, even better, because it's
- 56:36Speaker 12: all this inside stuff for you, which is great.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Definitely. Well, I think that was it.
- 56:41Speaker 18: Thank you for being here with us today.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Thank you for having us.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Thank you. Our pleasure.
- 56:44Speaker 19: Yes.
- 57:00Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 57:23Speaker 12: You can hear the thunder long before the storm.
- 57:29Speaker 11: But you can't hear the lion when he stalks his prey.
- 57:35Speaker 3: He's moving like.
- 57:36Speaker 11: A shadow, creeping upon you.
- 57:40Speaker 12: And like a siren's call, he's going to have his way.
- 57:53Speaker 11: Don't make us stand just up.
- 57:56Speaker 13: Outside If you don't have what it takes Don't try
- 58:01Speaker 13: to play, you'll lose your state Remember this at least
- 58:05Speaker 13: It's the nature.
- 58:06Speaker 11: Of the beast It's the nature of the beast.
- 58:18Speaker 5: Hey guys, look what I've got Check out these awesome
- 58:21Speaker 5: earbuds I'm using right now Look at that.
- 58:24Speaker 14: That's wood right there.
- 58:25Speaker 3: That's actual wood.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Why would you use wood to make technology?
- 58:29Speaker 5: Because it's like they're steampunk. Is steampunk really wood?
- 58:36Speaker 1: I thought it was more of a brass thing.
- 58:37Speaker 5: Well, you got to work the wood in to hold
- 58:39Speaker 5: the brass together. These are the fancy high-end steampunk versions
- 58:43Speaker 5: with a mic built in, mind you. But yeah, where
- 58:47Speaker 5: would I get these you wonder?
- 58:49Speaker 11: Tweaked Audio.
- 58:52Speaker 3: Way to pitch.
- 58:54Speaker 5: You want to hear more, you say?
- 58:55Speaker 1: Tweakedaudio.com.
- 58:59Speaker 5: Hey, they are available in three styles and seven colors,
- 59:03Speaker 5: and they sound pretty damn good. I kind of forgot
- 59:05Speaker 5: because I hadn't had my old pair in a while,
- 59:08Speaker 5: and I was using the knockoff crappy ones.
- 59:10Speaker 14: I bought at the store.
- 59:11Speaker 5: And I got these and put them in. I was like, oh, shit,
- 59:14Speaker 5: that's right.
- 59:14Speaker 3: These are actually really good.
- 59:16Speaker 5: So they are professional quality earbuds, mind you. And, you know,
- 59:20Speaker 5: noise reducing, compatible with your iPods and most phones, unless
- 59:25Speaker 5: you have a dumb phone. You should really get a smartphone,
- 59:27Speaker 5: not a dumb phone, right? So anyway, the basic rundown here,
- 59:31Speaker 5: if you need yourself some earbuds, tweakedaudio.com. And if you
- 59:36Speaker 5: go there, there's a deal. There's a Meltdown deal. If

- 59:41Speaker 5: you get 33% off and free shipping. You guys are excited, right?
- 59:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 59:48Speaker 5: As well you should be. tweakedaudio.com. Use the Meltdown code.
- 59:52Speaker 5: That's all I'm saying.
- 59:55Speaker 7: We're a show that is ostensibly about horror.
- 59:59Speaker 10: Booby bouncing from the running.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: That monkey was Benson.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: He had sex with Kim Cattrall.
- 1:00:06Speaker 18: Open your mouth so I can fill the void.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Rats are gross.
- 1:00:10Speaker 11: Far eastern yeti have smaller feet than.
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: So, like, what are.
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: We supposed to learn from that?
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: You're like, shit, this is the one with the really
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: fat guy.
- 1:00:18Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: Damn it.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:00:19Speaker 18: They gave each other a Dutch rudder.
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: It was fine.
- 1:00:21Speaker 18: Apparently you've never been to makeitandy.com.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Those are flaps, not doors.
- 1:00:26Speaker 10: Woody.
- 1:00:26Speaker 13: Anyway.
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: Who's Woody?
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: It's a wiker with a booty.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: It looks like Mike's jerking it over there.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: I'm going to class it up now.
- 1:00:34Speaker 14: After that smut.
- 1:00:35Speaker 6: Shows are most popular by the way they smell.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: You're a real black hole right now.
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: He sure is.
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: I'm banging. The horror of unreleased Beach Boys songs.
- 1:00:42Speaker 11: There you go.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: Are you referring to my lady right now?
- 1:00:45Speaker 14: Nope.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: Hey, this is Danielle Harris.
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: So I am now maybe quite possibly one of the
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: newest members of Movie Meltdown.
- 1:01:12Speaker 15: If I can never actually get to the movies.
- 1:01:15Speaker 8: But I'll review some old 80s rom-coms for you.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: See ya.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: It had to be you. It had to be you.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: I wandered around and finally found the somebody who.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: Could make me be true, could make me.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Be It's part of your problem, you know. You haven't
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: seen enough movies.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: on with the show.
- 1:02:29Speaker 19: And it's always to be with all you lovely little
- 1:02:33Speaker 19: boys and girls.
- 1:02:34Speaker 11: Make yourself comfortable. My place is so divine.
- 1:02:45Speaker 13: Don't you think I'm wonderful?
- 1:02:49Speaker 11: Stay ashore on my time.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Stay away.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: So, okay, you were hanging out with Dee Snider.
- 1:03:04Speaker 14: How awesome.
- 1:03:06Speaker 15: I mean, it was just really great.
- 1:03:08Speaker 17: It was funny sitting there and, like, I didn't really
- 1:03:11Speaker 17: think about it beforehand, but, like, how much, I don't know,
- 1:03:16Speaker 17: he had kind of a recurring presence.
- 1:03:19Speaker 15: I mean, not literally because, obviously, I don't hang out
- 1:03:21Speaker 15: with Dee Snider.
- 1:03:22Speaker 6: Like Adam.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: Right. He didn't end up in your life like.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: He did with Adam.
- 1:03:26Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:03:27Speaker 17: But like I was thinking about it and I'm just like,
- 1:03:29Speaker 17: you know, there are just so many times in my
- 1:03:31Speaker 17: life where, you know, we were we were talking about,
- 1:03:35Speaker 17: you know, Pee Wee's Big Adventure. And I watched that
- 1:03:38Speaker 17: so much when I was a kid. And I just
- 1:03:39Speaker 17: remember seeing, you know, Twisted Sister like on different things
- 1:03:44Speaker 17: or like hearing music and and just thinking of how
- 1:03:46Speaker 17: cool it was. And it was just really cool being
- 1:03:50Speaker 17: able to sit there and see one of my heroes,
- 1:03:52Speaker 17: you know. And not just that, but, like, just hang
- 1:03:55Speaker 17: out and talk to him. And, I don't know, he's
- 1:03:57Speaker 17: just a really cool guy.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: He is.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: Like, again, looking at, you know, you could talk to
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: a lot of, and they even in the weekend made
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: fun of a lot of him being compared to a
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: lot of other 80s hair band kind of rock stars. And,
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: you know, you can lump all those guys in together. But, like,
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: when I think back and think about... The difference between him,
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: I mean, the fact that Dee Snider went and, like,
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: sat down in front of the Senate and, like, told
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: them why what they were trying to do was wrong. Why,
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: you know, censoring music and art in general is wrong.
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: Why the specifics. And with that... tipper gore sitting in
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: the room was calling her out for specific quotes that
- 1:04:35Speaker 5: she had made about their band about music you know
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: the specific genre of music and like she and just
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: pointing out how wrong she was and doing it very
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: well spoken and doing it in and and going up
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: there and still kind of dressed in his jeans and
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: metal t-shirt but like he sat down and went well
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: you know first of all i'm a parent and as
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: a parent i think it's my responsibility so like watching
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: him like be so level-headed and so smart about, you know,
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: trying to defend all of us, you know, it's like
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: the music in general, but like all of our freedom
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: to like, listen to what we want and record what
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: we want. And that, that is amazing to me when
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: I look back on that. So it's like, that's one
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: of those things, had we had time, I could have
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: sat there and talked to him about that kind of
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: stuff for like hours probably. But yeah, they, they had
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: to get in there and do the stuff for the,
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: for their show this weekend.
- 1:05:27Speaker 14: So yeah.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: That in and of itself was amazing. And then we
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: can get into that show because afterwards, after they finished
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: that later on in the day, they did a live,
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: like a table reading of a, an episode. And it's
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: an original episode of Holliston that they made specifically for
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: this weekend. And, um, that was probably one of the
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: best things I've ever seen at a convention. Like again,
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: so often it's like I, and maybe it's just cause
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: I go to so many of them at this point,
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: but just, standing in line to see somebody sign their
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: name on a picture is no you know I'm bored
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: with that now and even like when people come out
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: and like do a Q & A like a lot
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: of times they're so boring like even if it's somebody
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: I'm interested in sometimes they're just so lackluster and it
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: might be a huge room and you're so far away
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: from them but like this became an actual performance and
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: like that's something you don't see at these kind of
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: things is somebody actually like putting on a show and
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: like doing like live and making it interactive with the
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: audience and like involving members of the audience on occasion
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: and bringing in special guests and it was like it
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: was probably one of the best things I've seen it
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: definitely is like I'm glad we came to the convention
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: this weekend just because I saw that like awesome enough
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: that we worked in an entire interview but like even
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: if that didn't happen if I would have just gotten
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: to see them do that live performance it sort of
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: makes me appreciate the TV show so much more now.
- 1:06:51Speaker 15: Well, and I feel like that is.
- 1:06:54Speaker 17: I feel like Adam can get a lot of credit
- 1:06:55Speaker 17: for that because he even talks about, like, how he
- 1:07:00Speaker 17: is us. Like, he is one of those horror geeks that,
- 1:07:04Speaker 17: you know, stands in line and goes and gets autographs.
- 1:07:07Speaker 17: I mean, not so much now, but, like, back in
- 1:07:09Speaker 17: the day before he became this incredible director and actor
- 1:07:14Speaker 17: and writer and all these things. Like, that was him,
- 1:07:18Speaker 17: you know, standing in line.
- 1:07:19Speaker 15: And so.
- 1:07:20Speaker 17: you know, I feel like he has more of a
- 1:07:22Speaker 17: passion to be able to bring something entertaining and something
- 1:07:25Speaker 17: awesome to all the fans instead of, you know, just
- 1:07:28Speaker 17: having people wait in line to, to meet him and
- 1:07:31Speaker 17: not even interacting with anybody. So it was, it was
- 1:07:34Speaker 17: just really cool to be able to go in there
- 1:07:35Speaker 17: and sit down and watch them do something that, you know,
- 1:07:39Speaker 17: watch them have fun. And, you know, in the, in
- 1:07:41Speaker 17: the process, it was entertaining for us to do, but I,
- 1:07:43Speaker 17: I feel like that it was very intentional. I feel like,
- 1:07:47Speaker 17: you know, he made the decision to do that. And,
- 1:07:49Speaker 17: I feel like a lot of that probably has something
- 1:07:52Speaker 17: to do with the influence that Dee has on his life, too, because,
- 1:07:56Speaker 17: you know, Dee's an entertainer.
- 1:07:58Speaker 15: Like, that's what he does.
- 1:08:00Speaker 17: And so I feel like they just, you know, they
- 1:08:03Speaker 17: were very intentional about it, and that's what they wanted
- 1:08:05Speaker 17: to do.
- 1:08:06Speaker 15: So I just think that's really, really cool of them.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: He does want to work with that element. Like, he
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: likes sort of blurring that line because, I mean, you're casting. Like,
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: he's a movie director, right? He's now sort of spilling
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: over into TV in a very movie geek way, but
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: he could have cast whoever he wanted, I guess, in
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: those roles, and he bothers to work in two really
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: recognizable rock stars in the middle of his show about
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: horror movies. Granted, they have a lot of horror-themed stuff
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: going on, too. It makes sense, but he could have
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: just cast anybody in those roles. Now, granted, it also
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: brings people in that are just fans of Either Gwar or,
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: you know, Twisted Sister. But I think it's just he
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: likes that aspect to the performance aspect. He really does
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: like bringing in people that are characters, you know. They're, like,
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: on stage. They really go out of their way to
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: get attention and, you know, put.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: On a good show.
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: And, like, he knows that they're going to bring that
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: to the role. So I think he does have that, like,
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: you know, rockstar tie-in that he kind of likes adding
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: that to what they're doing. But yeah, I will give
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: him credit that like, he was so down to earth,
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: you know, he really does still come off like one
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: of us, you know, standing there with him. I was like, yeah,
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: it's like, this is, this is just a guy that,
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: you know, if I didn't know any better would be
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: in line next to me waiting to get something signed.
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: Like he's very down to earth and was very cool.
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: Just kind of hanging out even after we were done
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: talking to us about what, you know, how things have
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: turned out for him and how he's ended up where
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: he is now. And it's, yeah, I think he appreciates
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: where he's, where he's turned up in his career and,
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: and all the cool stuff that's happened to him along
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: the way and kind of likes showcasing that. And especially
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: on the show, I, I, Again, I think it is
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: such a good tie-in show for movie geeks that everybody
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: who hasn't checked it out, it's definitely worth looking into.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: It has a weird take on the sitcom thing. It's like, again,
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: if you gave a movie geek a camera and went, here,
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: what if you had to make a TV sitcom? And
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: that's what it does. It works in all these very
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: cliche moments of the standard, especially 80s era sitcoms. when
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: they became very formulaic and silly and like it plays
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: on all those, but it's kind of doing it very knowingly.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: So it makes it a little funnier to me. I
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: don't know. I, I think the fact that it's very
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: self-aware and as he said, even breaks the fourth wall
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: sometimes of how self-aware it is that like it makes
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: it all a joke and it makes it all okay
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: that they know how silly they're being and how it's
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: okay to bring in guest stars because really we just
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: want to see him bring in these guest stars because it's,
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: you know, again, people he's worked with now that, it
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: makes it fun it makes it like this big horror
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: community that you know everybody sort of gets worked into
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: the show at some point so i i think it's
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: definitely a lot of fun and and a good tie-in
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: for movie geeks so um yeah i'd say go find
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: it watch it even if you don't like it it's
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: it's worth checking out it's like i.
- 1:11:01Speaker 17: Was um telling brian it was i had an entertaining
- 1:11:04Speaker 17: moment where um after we were finished recording Adam and
- 1:11:10Speaker 17: Brian were standing there talking and it was like watching
- 1:11:12Speaker 17: somebody talking to a mirror. Um, I mean, they, they
- 1:11:16Speaker 17: do have different ways of going about things. I mean,
- 1:11:18Speaker 17: you know, Adam is very, um, he's become very Hollywood,
- 1:11:22Speaker 17: I guess, if you want, if you will. I mean, he,
- 1:11:25Speaker 17: he has that certain air about him, but at the
- 1:11:27Speaker 17: same time, like he was just talking about, you know,
- 1:11:30Speaker 17: his passions basically. And he is so grateful that, to
- 1:11:35Speaker 17: be able to do what he's doing and, you know,
- 1:11:38Speaker 17: to have the response that he's had. And so it
- 1:11:40Speaker 17: was just a really funny thing to, to stand there
- 1:11:42Speaker 17: and watch the two of them like talk about stuff.
- 1:11:44Speaker 17: Cause it was like, it's the same person. It was
- 1:11:47Speaker 17: so weird.
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: I'll take that. There's, there's definitely a much worse people
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: I could be prepared to. So Adam is a very
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: cool guy.
- 1:11:54Speaker 14: I'll take that.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: Well, I think that's, uh, that's sort of rounded it out.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: We've had a, a good weekend and an exhausting weekend nonetheless.
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: So we'll, I think we're going to try to get
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: back home and probably fall asleep. So otherwise it has
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: been a good time. Thanks for joining us and going
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: along on the little journey and, and definitely awesome that
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: we got to, to hang out with D and Adam.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: So otherwise that about does it. We will return next week.
- 1:12:22Speaker 14: Same time, same geek feed.
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: Thanks for listening.
- 1:12:49Speaker 12: Welcome to the abandoned land.
- 1:12:54Speaker 19: Come on in, child, take my hand.
- 1:13:00Speaker 16: Here there's no work or play.
- 1:13:07Speaker 11: Only one built a plane.
- 1:13:11Speaker 19: There's just five words to say as.
- 1:13:15Speaker 13: You go down, down, down.
- 1:13:24Speaker 11: You're gonna burn in hell.
- 1:13:43Speaker 13: Without even trying, I've lived on.
- 1:13:46Speaker 10: The edge of a line.
- 1:13:47Speaker 13: Well, I've played with fire, and.
- 1:13:53Speaker 11: I don't want to get myself burned.
- 1:13:56Speaker 13: To thine own self be true, so I think.
- 1:14:10Speaker 11: I'm burning hell.
- 1:14:13Speaker 13: Take a good look in your heart.
- 1:14:16Speaker 11: Tell me what do you see? It's black and it's dark.
- 1:14:21Speaker 13: Now is that how you want it to be?
- 1:14:46Speaker 11: Take your choice now.
- 1:14:48Speaker 13: For tomorrow may be far too late.
- 1:14:52Speaker 11: And then you'll burn in hell. I'll burn in hell.
- 1:14:58Speaker 13: You're gonna burn in hell.
- 1:15:48Speaker 19: Hear no evil, don't you see no evil Don't you
- 1:15:53Speaker 19: lay no evil down.
- 1:15:55Speaker 11: On me You're gonna burn in hell.
- 1:15:58Speaker 19: Hear no evil, don't you think no evil Don't you
- 1:16:02Speaker 19: play with evil cause.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: I'm free You're gonna burn in hell.
- 1:16:07Speaker 19: Hear no evil, don't you see no evil Don't you
- 1:16:11Speaker 19: lay no evil down on me.
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: You're gonna burn in hell. No evil, don't you think
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: no evil. Don't you play with evil.
- 1:16:19Speaker 11: Cause I'm free. You're burning hell.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: No evil, don't.
- 1:16:24Speaker 13: You think no evil. I'll burn in hell.
- 1:16:45Speaker 12: I'm Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, writer, star of Strangeland, radio, TV,
- 1:16:50Speaker 12: you know me, and you're watching.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: What the fuck are you watching? Listening.
- 1:16:55Speaker 11: Listening?
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: What, I'm being filmed? Have I got dressed? It's a
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: really small camera. Hold on.
- 1:17:00Speaker 18: We're going to have to transform it.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: You know that's the.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: One they're going to use.
- 1:17:05Speaker 14: This episode is a production of Movie Meltdown, produced and
