- 0:02I was very aware of my slurping. So in other words, listen to
- 0:07this. Every once in a while somebody
- 0:13will say Wallace slurping that coffee.
- 0:15It's the little things that aggravate the head out of
- 0:19people. I had a best friend and he would
- 0:25smack his food and I wanted to smack him, but I loved him so
- 0:29much that I let it go. My my mom got me this T-shirt.
- 0:35It said I have so many wonderful qualities that it's easy to
- 0:41overlook my few disgusting habits.
- 0:44So that's the way I have friends.
- 0:46I'm like, this guy's really nice, but he does this one thing
- 0:51that aggravates me and I just deal with it because it's hard
- 0:55to have somebody as perfect as me.
- 0:57I'm awesome and I probably don't do anything wrong.
- 1:03So as far as my slurping, I really don't slurp at all.
- 1:09I guess the microphone is so good in this phone.
- 1:12It just, the coffee is very hot. Coffee is very hot.
- 1:17I guess I just kind of, you know, kind of like this, you
- 1:21know, OK today. Why am I such a such a smart ass
- 1:31at times? Dale Junior and Amy, they they
- 1:37started that show called Bless Your heart, HHARDT, Bless Your
- 1:43Heart. What we learned was they both
- 1:45got to tell the truth about somebody.
- 1:47And and Dale Junior says, well, I enjoy being a smart ass.
- 1:50She goes, yeah, but you're a smart ass at the wrong time.
- 1:53Sometimes it's really good because I I think actually they
- 2:01wouldn't say something over the microphone.
- 2:03And so she whispered it to him and he laughed.
- 2:05He said you he called, he called Amy because it was she got she
- 2:11got some tomboy in her. You know, Amy Earnhardt's over
- 2:15there on Kenny conversation and she was a she's a good
- 2:18cheerleader and she's she's got it together.
- 2:21But I think that bless your heart over there and dirty
- 2:23mommy. I think that it's going to be
- 2:25good at least at least the first one was.
- 2:27So all right, everybody, today we gonna I just love poking fun
- 2:33at Larry McReynolds. I love him.
- 2:36He's one of my best friends. But today we gonna talk about
- 2:42the NASCAR Hall of Fame. All right, We got old Rooster.
- 2:50Rooster's in in the Hall of Fame.
- 2:52Does anybody know who Rooster is?
- 2:54He gets pissed and he starts going like this, and that's
- 2:57where he got his nickname from. I'll tell you one thing,
- 3:00Wallace. You run over me like that again
- 3:02here at Doral. Kinko, Rooster, Ricky Rudd,
- 3:08Ricky Rudd. And then the next one is Carl
- 3:14Edwards. What a listen, I am not mean,
- 3:20but I'm going to tell you what a weird guy.
- 3:22Holy crap, loving to death, got his phone number.
- 3:26He'll text me right away. We both from Missouri.
- 3:29But this guy, man, he is different.
- 3:32Good thing he can drive a race car.
- 3:36It's a good thing car all overs can drive a race.
- 3:38You ever notice that about people, when people are really
- 3:41different but they're good at something, You know, it's like,
- 3:45Oh yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 3:47So like, you know, if a guy is a good baseball player and he's
- 3:51making $22 million a year, but he's really different, It's like
- 3:56you, you get a pass right at. That's Carl.
- 4:00I love Carl to death, but boy, he is different.
- 4:03He's on his own island. But I like weird people.
- 4:09Carl Edwards is weird, but a good weird.
- 4:12So I'm going to go through them all here in a little bit.
- 4:16And then the other one was is Moody.
- 4:18I think from the old home and Moody days.
- 4:21Home and Moody. They were Ford and they it back
- 4:25in the day. You not, you know how some of
- 4:26you people you just don't like these big teams.
- 4:30You haven't seen big teams in the in the creation of NASCAR.
- 4:35You you had a home and Moody. And so one of the Moody's is I
- 4:40guess it's the Moody. I didn't do no studying for
- 4:44coffee with Kenny. So I don't study for coffee with
- 4:47Kenny. I didn't even know what I was
- 4:48going to talk about until I got up and I was watching Fox News
- 4:52and I was watching, I thought, oh, Hall of Fame.
- 4:56So the inductions are course Rooster, Ricky Rudd and course
- 5:02Carl Edwards and then Moody. What was it?
- 5:08John Moody? Phil in right here.
- 5:11I think you should like it that you can play along with me.
- 5:14Help me. I don't know that, but Holman
- 5:17Moody was they they fielded team cars.
- 5:22It was you were a factory driver, I believe for Ford, a
- 5:27factory driver and they were located over by the Charlotte
- 5:30Douglas Airport in Charlotte. So I lived in Charlotte for 27
- 5:34years and I heard a lot of stories about home and Moody,
- 5:37how incredible they were and what great drivers drove for
- 5:40him. So but yeah, let's talk about
- 5:45all three of them a little bit. Well, we'll talk about two of
- 5:47them. Let's go with Carl Edwards
- 5:49first. So I did AI did I did like a 12
- 5:55minute take that lives on the Kenny Wallace YouTube show.
- 6:00It has our biggest view ever. It is closing in on 1 million
- 6:06views. It's like at 900 and something
- 6:091000 views. And I gave my take on why Carl
- 6:14Edwards quit NASCAR. To this day I still feel the
- 6:19same until Carl tells us all. But this guy could be a card
- 6:24player. Carl Edwards could play cards.
- 6:27He holds the cards up his sleeve and he is not going to tell
- 6:30nobody why he just immediately quit NASCAR.
- 6:35However, it seems he's come to peace with it now and all the
- 6:40drivers are showing him respect. Of course, you know, you got
- 6:44Kyle Larson out there saying, man, I'll tell you what, when
- 6:47when I run the when I run the Indy 500 and I want somebody
- 6:51test my car, it's going to be Carl Edwards.
- 6:56So that's really nice. But to this day, I still think
- 7:02Carl Edwards left NASCAR with a broken heart.
- 7:06I really do. I think that, you know, he had a
- 7:09couple championships won. You have the you had the fake
- 7:14caution, which we all know about.
- 7:16We all talked about. It's a very controversial
- 7:23subject. It was an article written by
- 7:26Jordan Bianchi. And it's just, it was Jordan
- 7:29Bianchi, not me. So it just, it just stated what
- 7:33it stated. I'm not going to rehash.
- 7:35When you saw me thinking for a little bit, I I was thinking, do
- 7:38I want to bring this up again? How does it benefit me?
- 7:42But I believe Carl Edwards, I'm not going to bring it up.
- 7:46Actually, you can go to Kenny Wallace YouTube show and I say
- 7:50it all there. I don't want NASCAR to get
- 7:52pissed at me. I said it once, so I won't say
- 7:54it no more. There's an incredible article by
- 7:57Jordan Bianchi wrote about well, when Carl quit and it was
- 8:02Toyota, it was it was Toyota, you know, so, but anyway, I
- 8:07believe Carl quit of a broken heart.
- 8:09He had two championships won and and he didn't get them.
- 8:13And then he banged his head really hard.
- 8:15And every once in a while he'll give a piece of information.
- 8:18So let let's see if when Carl gets inducted in the Hall of
- 8:21Fame and he gets up on there, is he is he going to say it?
- 8:25Is he going to say exactly why? But right now, he's pretty much
- 8:29got us all trying to just go, OK, he just quit.
- 8:32But I think Carl quit NASCAR because of a broken heart.
- 8:36You know, he lost both those championships and then he hit
- 8:39that wall a ton. I was going to say a ton, but I
- 8:47don't want Charlie to beat this out on YouTube.
- 8:50See, I can cuss here on social media, but I I can't cuss over
- 8:57there on YouTube. But Carl hit that wall so hard,
- 9:00I think it made him go, oh, my God.
- 9:04So, but I just think things went bad.
- 9:06And he said, you know what? I don't need this anymore.
- 9:08I got hundred, $200 million. Carl quit right before the
- 9:13NASCAR salaries went down. So he shouldn't talk, Cotton.
- 9:18Yes, he is. Hey, listen, can you all watch
- 9:21your mouth, please? I mean, do you got to do this
- 9:24with using profanity all the time?
- 9:29That's me imitating some of you. Oh, come on.
- 9:33I don't cuss all the time. But when I do cuss, it's good.
- 9:38I put it all in the right place. OK, so Carl Edwards going in the
- 9:42NASCAR Hall of Fame, then let's talk about our rooster, Ricky
- 9:45Rudd. But I remember, listen, in 1984,
- 9:50I was a Cup crew chief for Joe Rutman in the Levi Garrick car.
- 9:54And what I remember about Rooster was number 1.
- 9:57He was always very nice to me and to this day he's still very
- 10:00nice to me. But his face was solid red all
- 10:04the time. And buddy, when he was mad, he'd
- 10:07do that open neck. So he got the nickname Rooster,
- 10:10great race car driver. When Ricky got when Ricky Rudd
- 10:16got hurt driving for Robert Yates, they put me in the car
- 10:21for a couple races. Now listen, I have a great
- 10:24relationship with Robert Yates Racing.
- 10:26We lost Robert, but Doug's still living.
- 10:29Maybe I should reach out to them a little bit, but I just, I'm,
- 10:32I'm in Saint Louis having the time of my life and I've moved
- 10:35on. But two times when a driver got
- 10:39hurt over there at Robert Yates Racing, they called me.
- 10:44When Ernie got hurt, I drove the car.
- 10:46And when Rooster got hurt, Ricky Rudd, when he got hurt, they
- 10:49called me and I drove the car and Ricky made me a compliment.
- 10:54And that made me like him, right?
- 10:57He said. He said I didn't think you would
- 10:59do as good as you did when you got in my car because at that
- 11:02time they weren't running that great and I peddled it as hard
- 11:06as I could. But so shout out to Ricky Rudd
- 11:08for talking nice to me. That was very nice.
- 11:12And then Moody, we already talked about them all very
- 11:16worthy people. So congratulations to everybody
- 11:19in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. And just a shout out the end
- 11:23here to Amber Wells at the NASCAR Alumni.
- 11:27NASCAR still likes me. Everybody.
- 11:31I haven't pissed them off yet. I mean, I'm sure I have, but we
- 11:35all do. The NASCAR alumni has sent me a
- 11:39hard card. Thank you so much.
- 11:42I can go anywhere and do anything I want and I'm very,
- 11:45very humbled. I'm not used to that.
- 11:47I'm very humbled. Thank you so much to Amber
- 11:50Wells, Mike Elton and Jim France.
- 11:54It was Mike Elton and Jim France's idea to start the
- 11:57NASCAR Alumni and then Amber on her own, said Kenny.
- 12:01We love you racing that dirt car.
- 12:03We're going to make a newsletter.
- 12:05NASCAR is going to make a NASCAR alumni newsletter and they're,
- 12:10and they're going to follow up and, and follow my, my dirt
- 12:12racing. And I got, I got 2 NASCAR alumni
- 12:16decals on my dirt car. And actually I talked to Nick
- 12:20Hoffman and Darrell Hoffman and Rhonda Hoffman the last night
- 12:24and I, you know, race was over. By the way, we finished second
- 12:29last night, so that was nice. All right, everybody, I think
- 12:34that was a good little talk. I gave you my opinion on all the
- 12:37NASCAR Hall of Farmers and get shed a little inside light about
- 12:41them. So I hope you like that.
- 12:44And Groundhog Day is about over. Billy Smith was just texting me
- 12:50just then, so I'll call him back.
- 12:52Billy's a dear friend of mine took me to help me with a lot of
- 12:56dirt wins. So whenever I'm doing coffee
- 12:58with Kenny, you see my head turn sideways.
- 13:00I mean, somebody is texting me. I'm going to go to lunch today
- 13:05with Jennifer and Richard, Richard Marshall and Tim
- 13:09Clawson, Brian Clawson's dad. So it's going to be a good day.
- 13:13But Groundhog Day, Groundhog Week is about over.
- 13:16We qualify tonight for the Gator and then tomorrow night,
- 13:20Saturday night is our last night, and I'm flying home
- 13:23Sunday. And I miss Kim, I miss my wife.
- 13:28All right, everybody have a great Friday.
