- 0:10Speaker 1: Front Office, Unfiltered. Our resident GM, Jim Bowden is here. JB.
- 0:15Speaker 1: First off, I actually think it's worth explaining the sweatshirt.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Do you know why he's got a USC.
- 0:21Speaker 2: The GM or something.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Yeah, they had a nice little score. I saw the
- 0:25Speaker 1: score on Saturday, three to thirteen. Wow, they play that
- 0:32Speaker 1: GM put together some team.
- 0:34Speaker 3: That's the point, GM, that's the point. Missouri State, Missouri State,
- 0:39Speaker 3: Missouri State. I mean, would you rather? Yeah?
- 0:44Speaker 4: But still another win coming with Georgia Southern on Saturday,
- 0:48Speaker 4: So that'll be another romp hopefully, but that'll get him
- 0:51Speaker 4: ready for when the schedule gets gets tough. But yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 4: that it was a mismagic kind of felt like an
- 0:56Speaker 4: NFL team playing eighth graders. Like even on the field
- 0:59Speaker 4: prior to the game, I'm like, oh, this is not
- 1:01Speaker 4: going to be nice, and it wasn't. But it was
- 1:03Speaker 4: a nice win, nice way for him to start his
- 1:05Speaker 4: career at USC.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Were you on the field? I was, Wow, that's electric.
- 1:12Speaker 5: What's better to be on the field for a baseball
- 1:14Speaker 5: game or a football college football game?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Well, for a baseball game.
- 1:19Speaker 4: The only way I was ever on a field is
- 1:21Speaker 4: when they put the screen up during a spring training
- 1:23Speaker 4: B game and you'd sit right behind home plate. But
- 1:26Speaker 4: besides that, you know you're sitting behind home plate in
- 1:28Speaker 4: the scouts section, up in the executive box. You're not
- 1:31Speaker 4: really on the field as an executive.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, better to be right.
- 1:36Speaker 3: You're in a much better spot.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Being the football game, whether it's college or NFL. The
- 1:42Speaker 5: atmospheres are great. You can't see right because you're better off,
- 1:46Speaker 5: like being higher almost than you are because on the field,
- 1:49Speaker 5: especially at the level that Gym's talking about. I've been
- 1:53Speaker 5: on the field for NFL in college. You got to
- 1:55Speaker 5: chase the place you always have. It's a lot of walking.
- 1:57Speaker 5: You got to jump in front of it, and then
- 1:59Speaker 5: there's a turn over. Then you gotta run back to
- 2:01Speaker 5: the other end, and you just it's constantly like this
- 2:03Speaker 5: because if you get too far behind and then they
- 2:05Speaker 5: go all the way to the other end and you're like,
- 2:07Speaker 5: I can't see anything.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Oh, they just ran it. Did they get a first down?
- 2:10Speaker 5: So you want to run up and try to get
- 2:12Speaker 5: It's all like two thousand and seven, Florida, Georgia. I
- 2:15Speaker 5: was standing on the goal line when the Georgia team
- 2:17Speaker 5: charged the field, and I was like, what the hell
- 2:19Speaker 5: is happening here.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I didn't even know what happened, no idea, what was
- 2:21Speaker 3: happening right there? The sounds are great, right.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Sounds great.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Yeah, if you haven't been on the if you ever
- 2:26Speaker 5: get the chance to go on the field for NFL
- 2:28Speaker 5: game when they used to do kickoffs, holy.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Down and it was full speed, two guys. Sounded like explosions.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, thing man, All right, let's let's jump into the
- 2:43Speaker 1: AL West first, JB. I actually want to start with
- 2:46Speaker 1: the whole division. Really, what do you have on the
- 2:50Speaker 1: state of the American League West? With the Mariners not
- 2:53Speaker 1: figuring out how to win games on the road, the
- 2:55Speaker 1: Rangers having a lane and not really taking it, and
- 2:58Speaker 1: then Houston gaining a little bit of separation here.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I think with Seattle, I want to
- 3:04Speaker 4: know who did this schedule? Like, are you kidding me?
- 3:07Speaker 4: You get to the dog days of August and you're
- 3:09Speaker 4: gonna put them on the road for ten days from
- 3:12Speaker 4: August twelfth to the twentieth to play Baltimore, New York
- 3:15Speaker 4: and Philadelphia, and then you're gonna send them right back
- 3:18Speaker 4: on the road for another nine games on the East
- 3:22Speaker 4: Coast in Cleveland, Tampa, and Atlanta.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I mean, who does that.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Seattle already always has the worst travel schedule of any
- 3:30Speaker 4: team in Major League Baseball by far. We know that,
- 3:34Speaker 4: but then you're gonna get to the dog days of
- 3:35Speaker 4: August and do that to them twice, Like, come on,
- 3:39Speaker 4: that's scheduling.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Just it isn't right.
- 3:41Speaker 4: And look, I'm not making excuses, but I kind of
- 3:44Speaker 4: am because that's tough. That's a grind on players. And look,
- 3:48Speaker 4: the big boys last thirty days haven't gotten it done.
- 3:51Speaker 3: We get that.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Cal Rowly's sitting two eleven, Juhneoswuarez hitting two oh four,
- 3:56Speaker 4: Randio Rosearina two oh nine over the last thirty days
- 3:59Speaker 4: and three fifths of their rotation not getting it done right.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Luis Castillo's era is seven eight eight, George Kirby's is
- 4:06Speaker 4: five two three in Logan Gilbert four to sixty two
- 4:08Speaker 4: over their last five starts, each of them. So, yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 4: your star players aren't performing like they have. But I'm
- 4:13Speaker 4: telling you this schedule has really hurt them. I think
- 4:16Speaker 4: when they settle back and they're done the Atlantic Series
- 4:19Speaker 4: and they get home, I think you'll see them start
- 4:21Speaker 4: to turn things around. Now for Texas, I think they
- 4:25Speaker 4: would have made the playoffs, they not had ridiculous injuries
- 4:29Speaker 4: to their star players. Their ace Nathan Novaldi, who is
- 4:32Speaker 4: actually in the conversation with Twik Scoublin Garrett Crochet for
- 4:37Speaker 4: Cy Young, goes down for the year and they lose them.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Then their two most expensive players, Corey Seeger and Marcus
- 4:44Speaker 4: Simeon join them they're out for the year. And then
- 4:46Speaker 4: Evan Carter, they're a young stud who never got going
- 4:49Speaker 4: last year because of injuries.
- 4:50Speaker 3: They lose him with a fracture two.
- 4:52Speaker 4: So you know, you look at the Texas Rangers, they're
- 4:55Speaker 4: gonna fall short, but four key guys they lose for
- 4:59Speaker 4: the and they were within striking distance, and so then
- 5:03Speaker 4: in terms of Houston, yeah, they're gonna be able to
- 5:05Speaker 4: hold on. They're gonna be able to win this division
- 5:07Speaker 4: once again, which by the way, is miraculous when you
- 5:10Speaker 4: consider losing Bragman, losing Tucker, and then losing Alvarez for
- 5:15Speaker 4: a lot of the season, Jeremy paying you for a
- 5:17Speaker 4: lot of the season for them to be sitting here
- 5:19Speaker 4: and winning the division anyway, great job by GM Dana
- 5:21Speaker 4: Brown and manager Joe A Spot.
- 5:23Speaker 3: They deserve a lot of credit.
- 5:25Speaker 5: You get the whole al West to choose from. Do
- 5:29Speaker 5: you take any of them to even make the World Series,
- 5:32Speaker 5: let alone win the World Series? Or is this of
- 5:35Speaker 5: the divisions a division that you're like, Nah, They're just
- 5:39Speaker 5: it's a pillow fight out there, and when they play
- 5:41Speaker 5: the better teams, they're all going to be out of it.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 4: I think Seattle can run the table if they're pitching
- 5:48Speaker 4: and playing up to performance.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I think they have the rotation.
- 5:51Speaker 4: I think they have the impact closer, and I certainly
- 5:54Speaker 4: think they have enough offense now with the pickups that
- 5:57Speaker 4: they did at the trade deadline, getting josh Heneo Suarez
- 6:01Speaker 4: from Arizona. Cal Raley's gonna finish first or second in
- 6:04Speaker 4: the nb P voting. Randy rose Arena is in the
- 6:07Speaker 4: best year of his career. Jay Rod's doing what he
- 6:09Speaker 4: always does, which is rake in the second half of
- 6:11Speaker 4: the year.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Now I look at Seattle.
- 6:13Speaker 4: And again it comes down to starting pitching and right
- 6:16Speaker 4: now three fists of the rotation not getting it done.
- 6:19Speaker 4: But there they have a lot of talent that rotation.
- 6:22Speaker 4: So if I was to pick one of the teams
- 6:24Speaker 4: in the West to see could they run the table
- 6:27Speaker 4: come October? Yeah, I think Seattle.
- 6:28Speaker 5: Could hey, before we get to fromber and throwing balls
- 6:32Speaker 5: at teammates. Uh, I want to ask you did you
- 6:35Speaker 5: watch the Did you watch the Mariners game last night
- 6:37Speaker 5: against the Rays? They fell behind six nothing and George
- 6:41Speaker 5: Kirby chucked one right at low Oh it's not Brandon
- 6:45Speaker 5: Lowe's Josh, Josh. There's too many. There was too many
- 6:49Speaker 5: lows and Lyles on the Rays forever. So if he
- 6:52Speaker 5: hits him, how do you I mean, is that just
- 6:56Speaker 5: something that happens? Because the Rays broadcast went after min
- 6:58Speaker 5: Brian Anderson and in uh not callous?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Is it callous? No? Uh? The guy from the.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Stats stops Stotts Strange Statts went after We were like, hey,
- 7:09Speaker 5: you don't be throwing dude, Like if is this a
- 7:11Speaker 5: thing still in baseball where you get mad and just
- 7:14Speaker 5: chuck the ball.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm not accusing Kirby, but it looked pretty bad.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Did you hear him post game two? By the way, No, yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 4: it looked really bad. I didn't like it. I didn't
- 7:22Speaker 4: like it at all. Look, I don't mind a picture
- 7:24Speaker 4: getting frustrated when hitters are leaning over and you want
- 7:27Speaker 4: to knock him back a little bit to get them
- 7:29Speaker 4: off the plate so they don't lean over like that.
- 7:31Speaker 4: I'm okay with that, But when you're frustrating, frustrated because
- 7:35Speaker 4: they're hitting you and it's on you, then I'd never
- 7:38Speaker 4: liked that or appreciated that.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Agreed.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Okay, Now we'll go to Fromer. By the way, what
- 7:42Speaker 5: Kirby say postgame?
- 7:43Speaker 1: He was just saying he was pitching inside I'm looking
- 7:45Speaker 1: at it. He said, it's baseball. They called it inside
- 7:47Speaker 1: heater saying, how come nobody ever.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Just says, you know what, I chucked on at the
- 7:52Speaker 5: dude because I was pissed like Cole Hamil's did Cole
- 7:55Speaker 5: Hamilon did?
- 7:55Speaker 2: He got suspended five games.
- 7:57Speaker 3: That's why you don't say it.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I don't lose money.
- 8:00Speaker 3: He's right, and he's not.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Ch Yep, yeah, smart, so smart of these guys.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Ft FAM Designer clothes can be expensive, but we want
- 8:10Speaker 1: our clothes to look good, we want to feel good.
- 8:12Speaker 1: We want them to be affordable and krats. If you
- 8:15Speaker 1: tell me that I can wear a T shirt that
- 8:17Speaker 1: looks like it's tailored but it's not actually tailored and
- 8:19Speaker 1: it just comes that way, then sign me up for
- 8:22Speaker 1: True Classic.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Have to you gotta sign up for it because these
- 8:26Speaker 5: shirts are soft, they're thin, they're durable, and they're very versatile.
- 8:31Speaker 5: You can wear them to the gym, you can wear
- 8:33Speaker 5: them out to a nice dinner. Let's get after it
- 8:36Speaker 5: because these shirts are the real deal.
- 8:39Speaker 3: They are. Check it out.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I've got one of the performance ones. It's a nice
- 8:42Speaker 1: blue fits well. I can go to the gym, I

- 9:00Speaker 1: Link at true classic dot com slash foul to say
- 9:03Speaker 1: that's true Classic dot com slash f oul.
- 9:06Speaker 5: All right, now, let's let's go to the Fromber situation.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Have you ever been on a team where something like
- 9:10Speaker 5: this has happened? You know, someone's accused of trying to
- 9:13Speaker 5: intentionally hurt a guy on his own team. Not that
- 9:16Speaker 5: we're seeing that happen, but you know people are talking
- 9:19Speaker 5: about this. Of course Fromer comes out. No, it wasn't intentional.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Have you ever seen anything like this.
- 9:24Speaker 4: I've never seen anything like at the major league level.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I have seen it at the minor league level when
- 9:29Speaker 4: I was a farm director. I saw it, unfortunately, but
- 9:33Speaker 4: I'd never seen at the big league level like that.
- 9:35Speaker 4: And the body language was absolutely terrible. I mean, to me,
- 9:38Speaker 4: it looked totally intentional, and I think it's hard to
- 9:41Speaker 4: kind of defend because if it was a communication thing,
- 9:44Speaker 4: I think right after it happened, I thought Valdez would
- 9:46Speaker 4: walk towards the catcher and immediately, you know, have a conversation,
- 9:50Speaker 4: which he didn't. He just turned around and looked out
- 9:52Speaker 4: in the center field. So it looked intentional. It was disgusting.
- 9:55Speaker 4: If I was the catcher, I would have popped him on.
- 9:58Speaker 5: All Right, Well, you're you're and you're a GM that's
- 10:01Speaker 5: looking at a starting pitcher in a free agency market.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Are you completely because of this one action and I
- 10:07Speaker 5: guess some other immature things he's done in his career.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Are you avoiding it or are you at least saying,
- 10:12Speaker 5: you know what, I'd still take Framber but for X
- 10:15Speaker 5: amount less.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm signing him for exactly what I would have
- 10:19Speaker 4: signed him before this incident. We're talking about a guy
- 10:23Speaker 4: that's a three time All Star that has finished top
- 10:25Speaker 4: ten cy Young three years in a row. He's got
- 10:27Speaker 4: twelve rins right now with a three era. I got
- 10:30Speaker 4: to cover him, watch and win a World Series. I
- 10:33Speaker 4: like winning World Series. I'm okay signing him. Before I
- 10:36Speaker 4: sign him, I want to have the conversation with him
- 10:38Speaker 4: about what happened, look him in the eye, talk about
- 10:41Speaker 4: the incident, because certainly that is something that's completely unacceptable
- 10:46Speaker 4: and wrong. Would have explained to him that if he
- 10:48Speaker 4: was on my team when that happened, I would have
- 10:50Speaker 4: suspended him without pay, even if I was in a
- 10:54Speaker 4: pennant race, and that's something that's just unacceptable and we're
- 10:56Speaker 4: not going to go forward with that.
- 10:58Speaker 3: But that being said, do I want to sign him. Sure.
- 11:00Speaker 4: You know how hard it is to get pitchers that finish
- 11:03Speaker 4: top ten and cy Young every single year. They're really
- 11:06Speaker 4: hard to get, and I really like winning and the
- 11:08Speaker 4: best starting pitching normally gets to play in October. So yeah,
- 11:12Speaker 4: I would absolutely sign him despite the incident. But I
- 11:15Speaker 4: certainly would go through the incident with him, communicate. I
- 11:18Speaker 4: like to hear what he had to say off the record,
- 11:20Speaker 4: behind the scenes, whatever, see if he owns up on it.
- 11:22Speaker 4: But yes, I would sign him anyway. And no, I
- 11:25Speaker 4: would not say you have to take a discount, because
- 11:26Speaker 4: in the free agent market, he doesn't have to take
- 11:29Speaker 4: a discount. He's going to get whatever the market says.
- 11:31Speaker 4: GMS are going to sign Franbrbaldez because yes, he's that
- 11:34Speaker 4: good at pitching.
- 11:36Speaker 3: JB.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Do you think that he should have publicly apologized versus
- 11:41Speaker 1: denying that there was any intent, because it's not just
- 11:45Speaker 1: about him doing that publicly versus privately. What happens is
- 11:48Speaker 1: teammates your manager. Everyone has to answer and back you up,
- 11:53Speaker 1: even though everyone knows what really happened.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you're always better at being transparent. I
- 11:59Speaker 4: think you're always better off saying I did it. I
- 12:01Speaker 4: was frustrated, it's inexcusable. I apologize to the catcher, I'm
- 12:05Speaker 4: sorry to my teammates, and then own it and then
- 12:07Speaker 4: go forward. That's the best way to handle situations like that,
- 12:10Speaker 4: in my opinion.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Okay, let's move to the American League East. Have your
- 12:15Speaker 1: thoughts changed at all with the Roman Anthony injury? And
- 12:18Speaker 1: I saw a quote from Alex Kora telling him that
- 12:20Speaker 1: he should visualize and at bat in the ALCS, and
- 12:24Speaker 1: to me, that means they don't expect him to return
- 12:27Speaker 1: until the Alcs if they get there.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Yeah, so, I mean, look, it's a huge blow. What
- 12:34Speaker 4: a great rookie, what a young budding superstar we're talking about.
- 12:38Speaker 4: And to me, it's amazing that the Red Sox have
- 12:40Speaker 4: lost three of their best young players for the foreseeable
- 12:44Speaker 4: future in Roman Anthony and Marcelo Meyer and Will You're
- 12:47Speaker 4: a Bray, which people aren't talking about enough because you
- 12:49Speaker 4: would think either Anthony or Bray you should be in
- 12:51Speaker 4: right field instead of so guard. So it's been a
- 12:54Speaker 4: huge setback for Boston. Obviously, if they get to the
- 12:58Speaker 4: playoffs and the Bleak has a chance to get healthy, yeah,
- 13:01Speaker 4: of course you want him out there. And look, Boston's
- 13:03Speaker 4: going to get to the playoffs because they've been able
- 13:06Speaker 4: to figure out their four of their top starting pitchers.
- 13:10Speaker 4: You know, Garrett Crochet is gonna finish second to Tarik's
- 13:13Speaker 4: Skoubel in terms of the Cy Young voting. Brian BeO,
- 13:16Speaker 4: since he put that cutter into his repertoire, has been great.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Since June, Lucas Giolito has proven that the brace procedure
- 13:23Speaker 4: for Tommy John is gonna work going forward. That's been
- 13:26Speaker 4: huge for the medical industry, not just for Gilido in
- 13:29Speaker 4: the Red Sox and Peyton totally when he came up, Wow,
- 13:32Speaker 4: is that David Wells? Or was that David Wells? So
- 13:35Speaker 4: Boston's looking there with four good starters. They extended their
- 13:38Speaker 4: closer role. This Chapman who now has finally figured out
- 13:41Speaker 4: that you don't have to go out and drink and
- 13:43Speaker 4: smoke cigars all night, and so he's figured out that,
- 13:45Speaker 4: oh I can have command and control. So look, Boston's
- 13:48Speaker 4: gonna get there despite these injuries. I think they're gonna
- 13:51Speaker 4: have a hard time moving on in the playoffs. To
- 13:53Speaker 4: be honest, I don't know if that lineup is gonna
- 13:56Speaker 4: be good enough. But I know one thing. Alex Cora
- 13:59Speaker 4: is one of the best manager years in baseball and.
- 14:00Speaker 3: He always overachieves.
- 14:03Speaker 4: But it's been great to watch Rome and Anthony. Without
- 14:05Speaker 4: a doubt, he's going to be a superstar for years
- 14:08Speaker 4: to come. I'm glad the Red Sox were able to
- 14:09Speaker 4: sign him at the numbers Craig Breslo was able to do.
- 14:13Speaker 4: And Boston. Look, they're gonna be a wildcard team and
- 14:15Speaker 4: we'll see what happens. Hopefully Anthony will get get healthier,
- 14:18Speaker 4: quicker than the timetable.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Jim, Aren't they happy they signed Anthony and Campbell and
- 14:24Speaker 5: some of these guys chating to these extensions.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Now they're all hurt ones and the miners once hurt
- 14:27Speaker 2: and the other one hat's figured it out. So good
- 14:30Speaker 2: job Red Sox.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but good job.
- 14:32Speaker 4: But keep in mind, aj like the savings isn't on
- 14:36Speaker 4: the front end of any of these contracts. The savings
- 14:38Speaker 4: from the back end and the control of their free
- 14:41Speaker 4: agent years are there, so you know, injuries are part
- 14:43Speaker 4: of the game.
- 14:44Speaker 3: It's going to happen.
- 14:45Speaker 4: It's been unfortunate that it's happened at the level it
- 14:48Speaker 4: has for Boston. But they're gonna save money on all
- 14:51Speaker 4: these deals when it's all said and done.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Hey, it's like USC before nil, they were just paying guys.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Just no one knew about it, right, everyone was I
- 15:00Speaker 2: mean Reggie but wait, Reggie Bush?
- 15:02Speaker 5: No wait, sorry, excuse me, I mean wrong sport Baseball?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Who do you trust more? Who do you trust more?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Right now?
- 15:10Speaker 5: The Red Sox and where they're at, or the Yankees
- 15:12Speaker 5: bullpen and what they've been doing, because they have just
- 15:15Speaker 5: turned into a complete not what we thought. Because remember
- 15:19Speaker 5: at the trade deadline, they were like, oh my gosh,
- 15:20Speaker 5: Yankees might have one of the best bullpens of all time.
- 15:22Speaker 5: And Devin Williams, Weaver dove All doesn't understand fastball in
- 15:28Speaker 5: his ear.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I mean, it's like, what the heck is happening to
- 15:30Speaker 2: the Yankees bullpen?
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean all year, what are they their bullpen is?
- 15:34Speaker 4: What twenty first and TV era with twenty one blown
- 15:38Speaker 4: saves this year? I mean, yeah, it's been a total disaster.
- 15:41Speaker 4: But you know, you look over the last couple of weeks,
- 15:43Speaker 4: they do have three leivers in general that have pitched well,
- 15:46Speaker 4: David Bennar, Luke Weaver and Fernando Cruz. Benner's era's won
- 15:50Speaker 4: six nine his last nine appearances, Weavers is two to
- 15:53Speaker 4: one three and is eleven and Cruises one six' nine
- 15:56Speaker 4: his last. Five so you, know they do have three guys.
- 15:58Speaker 4: There they don't have a lot of depth in the
- 16:00Speaker 4: bullpen like we thought The yankees were going to, Have but,
- 16:04Speaker 4: look this is a league where teams are filled with,
- 16:06Speaker 4: pimples and some are gonna pop and some are not gonna.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Pop at the end of the, Day, yankees you know
- 16:12Speaker 4: they've got a. Chance you, KNOW i think we're going
- 16:13Speaker 4: to learn a lot about The yankees here over the
- 16:15Speaker 4: last the next nine. Games they took advantage of the easy,
- 16:19Speaker 4: schedule but all year they've struggled against the good. Teams
- 16:21Speaker 4: they struggle Against, toronto they struggle Against. Boston, well now
- 16:25Speaker 4: they have a run of having to play the division
- 16:27Speaker 4: leaders in the, league and we're going to find out
- 16:29Speaker 4: about The New York. Yankees we're going to find about,
- 16:31Speaker 4: out in my, opinion how good they. Are so we'll
- 16:33Speaker 4: have to sit watch see how that. Goes it's certainly
- 16:36Speaker 4: been a very inconsistent year for, them but there is
- 16:39Speaker 4: no dominant team in The American, league and we have
- 16:41Speaker 4: to keep that in.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Mind how much do you as a front office get
- 16:45Speaker 5: Into boone's, ear BECAUSE i know The yankees' front office
- 16:48Speaker 5: really pushes a lot of stuff like this of Using
- 16:52Speaker 5: Devin williams in the sense, of, hey we got to use.
- 16:55Speaker 5: Him he needs to be a big part of this playoff.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Bullpen or is it something that what he's done already
- 17:02Speaker 5: for the five months washes out anything That i'm THINKING
- 17:06Speaker 5: i can use him for the.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Playoffs.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Yeah i've always been a big believer in what The
- 17:11Speaker 4: hall of Famer Joe torre's philosophy always Was i'm going
- 17:14Speaker 4: with a hot hand at all. Times WHEN i get
- 17:16Speaker 4: down To september AND i go Into, OCTOBER i could
- 17:19Speaker 4: care less What Baseball reference or fangraft says about what
- 17:22Speaker 4: you've done in the. PAST i don't even. CARE i
- 17:25Speaker 4: care what my eyeballs are. SEEING i care about what
- 17:29Speaker 4: your eyeballs are looking me in the, eye and what
- 17:30Speaker 4: you look like when you're on top of the. Bump
- 17:32Speaker 4: AND i just want to win, games AND i could
- 17:34Speaker 4: care less what your history. IS i want the best
- 17:37Speaker 4: guys out, there. Period and that's WHAT i would be
- 17:41Speaker 4: conveying To Aaron, boone the, manager IF i was in
- 17:43Speaker 4: the front, office, like here's the analytics we have to
- 17:46Speaker 4: provide for, you here's our opinion of what we. Think
- 17:49Speaker 4: but you're the, manager trust your eyes and put the
- 17:52Speaker 4: best guy into. Win don't worry about, contracts don't worry about.
- 17:55Speaker 4: History just get out there and give us the best
- 17:58Speaker 4: shot to win every single, out every single.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Pitch that sounds like The mets right now with all
- 18:04Speaker 1: their pitching, prospects which we can get. To i'm gonna
- 18:06Speaker 1: save that. One we'll get to that maybe next week
- 18:09Speaker 1: WITH jb once we See brandon spread debut over the. WEEKEND,
