- 0:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hi everyone.
- 0:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hi everyone.
- 0:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's Justin here, Voices for Voices.
- 0:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you so much for joining us.
- 0:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She did it.
- 0:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Taylor did it.
- 0:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She put out a song named Cleveland.
- 0:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We were holding off on uh doing an uh an episode uh about her and Travis Kelsey uh plays uh tight end for the uh Kansas City Chiefs.
- 0:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we're trying to hold off, uh, but she just dropped a song named Cleveland, and that is uh a city that um is somewhat nearby, and so it it kind of feels like a like a local song uh and with Travis being from the Cleveland area uh purchasing uh just a lot of property, a lot of house, mansion uh in in Cleveland, uh after their uh after their marriage uh vows were um after they had their marriage vows.
- 1:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So they each said I do.
- 1:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so we were ho holding off on doing an episode uh for a time like this, I guess.
- 1:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh just you just never know.
- 1:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so she did it.
- 1:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She she dropped a song.
- 1:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I think it was uh the first time I heard it, it's the day of the filming of this episode.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, but I think it might have been maybe a day or two prior.
- 1:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but she yeah, she did.
- 1:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's uh it's interesting.
- 1:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It it uh it's not it's it's a it's a pretty good song, if I might say so.
- 2:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um there are all types of music for all types of people uh that we listen listen to and uh didn't know what to think, what like what was what was gonna be next after uh they got married.
- 2:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Obviously, you know, having a uh a house together, you know, makes makes sense.
- 2:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so they they had already done that, and the music part of it that just dropped with uh with the this uh song titled Cleveland, uh it just really solidifies things even more.
- 2:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um I remember so many so many uh baseball games, whether it's the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Guardians, what have you, uh after the team wins, and I think they still do, I've I just haven't been I haven't been to a game since my dad passed, uh went to heaven.
- 3:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh because I was that was something that I mean our whole family loved loves baseball and sports in general and baseball being uh probably the top one, and and so I haven't been to a game in two years.
- 3:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um but given my experience hi thank you, say hi to the camera.
- 3:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is this is we're done around TV, we're doing a show.
- 3:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Can you believe it?
- 3:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you.
- 3:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm gonna have to set you over here for now.
- 4:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh at the end of each win, so after the Cleveland baseball team wins a game, they play a song called Cleveland Rocks.
- 4:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I don't know if Taylor's song Cleveland is gonna somehow manifest itself into uh when the ball team uh wins a game uh or not.
- 4:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I mean we just don't we just never know.
- 4:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some things are predictable and some things aren't.
- 4:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh my thought, and again, I'm no expert, I have no insider information at all.
- 4:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: My thought is, and again, I can I can be totally wrong.
- 4:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's okay.
- 4:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I first off, let me talk about the fact that uh music therapy is something that helps people with mental uh illnesses, mental challenges.
- 5:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So if you like music, you like a song, you like a band, you like the whether it's the lyrics, whether it's the melody, the instruments, uh the people playing the instruments, singing, uh that that's kind of where this is coming from, from the mental health angle.
- 5:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I know some sometimes we get we get asked about that.
- 5:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so this is definitely in the wheelhouse of uh mental health, uh, for sure.
- 5:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, but my thought is with Ella Langley, which checked the episode prior to to this one.
- 5:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh Ella Langley just passed uh Mariah Carey with All I Want for Christmas for 22 weeks atop the Hot 100, I think Billboard 100.
- 6:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not sure exactly of all that terminology.
- 6:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: All I know is all I know for Christmas, all I want for Christmas uh held the record of 22 weeks at number one.
- 6:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Ella Langley, choose in Texas, just passed that just uh a couple of days ago, and so she is at number 23, 23 weeks, so she surpassed that, and so she's the uh record holder, and again, you can go go back to the previous episode as well as we got 570 plus episodes of the show, so go go check those out after after this episode.
- 6:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh if you watch, listening.
- 7:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but my thought is getting to the point that maybe Taylor, maybe there's a little bit of maybe there's a little bit of I really don't want to use the word jealousy.
- 7:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but I guess I will.
- 7:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe maybe there's a little bit of jealousy in the Ella Langley has topped the the charts for the record of 23 weeks.
- 7:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I I just it's just a little part of my mind, and I I have no insider information.
- 7:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is just me speaking from the heart, what I think.
- 7:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh is maybe Taylor got jealous that Ella Langley hit that record, and so she's like, uh-uh, no way.
- 8:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is me.
- 8:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm I'm the number one of all time.
- 8:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, I don't have any credible sources, I don't have anything, it's just me.
- 8:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just throwing it out there, and so maybe that maybe that music that just dropped this week from Taylor, obviously it had already been been uh composed and uh everything had to be recorded.
- 8:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so the music was already there and and set up.
- 8:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um so I don't know, again, getting to my point, if everything's ready to go and just looking for like a time to jump in, it's like, oh, maybe this is a good time.
- 8:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Ella Langley hits 23 weeks, that's a record, so why not drop music, which she did, which Taylor did, with one of those songs named Cleveland in the same week.
- 9:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we we can all you know think our own thoughts about whether that's the case or whether it's not.
- 9:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I mean, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna hate on on the fact that Taylor dropped new music um and one of the songs.
- 9:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, it having a song about kind of your local general vicinity of either where you live or you know, like I mentioned, the sporting teams of going to different uh different games, whether they're baseball or basketball.
- 9:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I've only made a couple of the football games over the years.
- 9:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so it's just it's interesting the timing of the dropping of uh of of Taylor's new music.
- 10:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um you know I look at I look at Justin Bieber and he was this week also, or maybe it was over the weekend, but recent within the last two weeks, uh I just I just got it on my social media feed this week.
- 10:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so I don't I'm not sure at the specific date that it happened.
- 10:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But talk about surprises, Justin Bieber and his accompanying band, they literally pulled up in a park and started playing music.
- 10:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Justin on a microphone just plugged in, you know, the uh the amp.
- 11:03Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, you know, you think of think of music, you think of concerts, and these huge speakers hang into either side of the stage.
- 11:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, Justin just had a small speaker, had a microphone.
- 11:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh his the seat he was sitting on looked like it was made out of wood, maybe a particular type of wood.
- 11:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so he he was playing that in different uh different melodies.
- 11:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh his guitarist was playing the guitar bassist was playing bass, and he just literally pulled up, like nobody knew what was gonna happen, and there weren't millions of people and let alone thousands of people, because like I I don't live where Justin lives or where he he's been, um, but just you know, when we look at like superstars, and you know, uh everybody goes through things, everybody goes through challenges, and so it with the Justin story, it's not just that he showed up with his band and literally just on the grass, like it was no huge setup, and uh you know, you can check it out for your for yourself.
- 12:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, all you have to do is Google it or on one of the other search engines or uh social media, you know, type it in, and I'm sure the story will come up.
- 12:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But that was only part of the story with Justin.
- 12:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So Justin also came with uh gift cards and some different supplies because the park that he was at, uh, there were people that um that needed it.
- 13:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so he didn't just come to play music and and to you know have it blow up and everybody going, oh my gosh, you know Justin Bieber and his band just can't pulled up to this uh this park and started playing their music.
- 13:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, yeah, that was part of it.
- 13:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, I don't know how long he played, I don't know if it was an hour, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, but it's the fact that, and I think this is what Justin would want, is the story to be more about Justin bringing the supplies and bringing the gift cards to give to the people who are down on their luck, down on life, uh not in the best of situations.
- 13:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so I think Justin would like that angle.
- 13:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, yeah, there's definitely the music part.
- 13:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, but helping people is is something that is I what I believe that's also near and dear to Justin's heart.
- 14:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, so for him to do that, like we have we have so we have basically we have three kind of like pretty big events in a week.
- 14:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have Ella Langley choosing Texas 23 weeks at number one.
- 14:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have Justin Bieber, I think it's called McCarth, MacArthur Park, uh in around Los Angeles, pulling up to the park, playing music, giving supplies, um gift cards, uh to to to the the people that are residing there, that are down on down on life pretty much.
- 14:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh so I I like that angle and we like that angle at Voices for Voices.
- 14:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We love music.
- 15:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We oh my gosh, like music therapy is such a powerful thing.
- 15:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so yeah, so we have Ella 23 weeks, number one, Justin Beaver pulling up uh in a park unannounced, just literally just playing almost like I remember I was in a a band for a short period of time in high school, and the setup that we had was pretty much the setup that uh that Justin had as far as yeah, like we had a microphone, we had small speaker, we had a small amp.
- 15:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we did actually have like full drums, like a full drum set.
- 15:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh that the uh I guess the music director he played for.
- 16:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I just wish that we had I wish we had pictures of it because it was so cool.
- 16:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, so we got L23 weeks, we got Justin Beer pulling up to the park, helping the people, yes, playing some music, but helping the people, and that is a big thing for us at Voices for Voices, is that is our biggest goal is to reach and help three billion people over the course of my lifetime and beyond.
- 16:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So this is very near and dear to my heart.
- 16:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then you have Taylor dropping music, and for those like us that live in around close to Cleveland, Ohio, have Taylor with the music she drops, have a song that's named Cleveland all in the same week.
- 17:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's really remarkable, and that's why we've kind of voted two episodes to music in a row.
- 17:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, because these are big moments uh in the music industry.
- 17:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Justin Later, he didn't, I don't think he had to check with his label uh to do that.
- 17:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh he's playing his songs.
- 17:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: He can play his song whenever, wherever he wants, and and that's that.
- 17:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but I think you know the humanitarian side of Justin is isn't seen as much, and you know, some of it I think maybe he just wants to keep private, and that's okay, and we should honor that and recognize that, and that's okay.
- 17:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, some people don't always want to be rec recognized like that, um, because then more people are gonna go to them, and uh and they'll be like, well, they help these people, but not those people.
- 18:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I just I just think it's just a remarkable week for music in music.
- 18:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I said, music therapy is huge for mental health.
- 18:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh there's been times over my life where uh music is really not just played on the radio or on our devices or anything, but there there's a song by Simple Plan called This Song Saved My Life.
- 18:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I'm not saying that there's one particular song that saved my life.
- 18:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I just think that music in general, when we find the music, whether it's uh you know, an orchestra, you know, playing, um, whether it's a rock band, whether it's uh jazz, rap, whatever john country, I mean, what whatever genre that we like, I look at it as if it's something we like, it's gonna have more of a more of a positive effect.
- 19:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um like right, we talk about all the time.
- 19:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If it's something we like, then we're gonna do probably better at that something than if it's something we don't like.
- 19:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we don't like it and we're forced to do it, or it's gonna it's not gonna feel good, it it's just gonna feel fake.
- 19:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh like okay, I'm just doing this thing or these things because I have to.
- 19:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but when it's something that we like, and I like music a lot, and I so I was I was at the gym, drove to get my hair trimmed, and it was from the the point that I left the gym to where I arrived to get my hair hair trimmed, is when I heard about Taylor's son Cleveland.
- 20:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I I knew she dropped new music.
- 20:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I didn't know the names of the songs, I hadn't kept up on that.
- 20:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I didn't, I didn't I just didn't know.
- 20:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if it wouldn't have been for that, like that moment, or those moments that you know that that that song played on just the regular radio, I didn't have my phone hooked up, the Bluetooth, I didn't have any of that.
- 20:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was just a regular radio station, uh, local radio station, local DJs.
- 21:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and that was when I was made aware that Taylor put put that song out, and it was named Cleveland, and a lot of references to the city, a lot of references to Travis, her husband.
- 21:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and so I I would just you know wrap it up by saying if you like music, it helps you it can help you maybe reduce some anxiety.
- 21:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's just uh for me for the most part, it's a little bit calming and just listening to it.
- 21:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I know I know we've all done it before.
- 21:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're in the shower or wherever, and we're we hear Song and we want to sing it, you know.
- 22:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I'm not a trained vocalist at all.
- 22:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm a very amateur guitarist.
- 22:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um but like when we hear music, that's one aspect, but then the other side is what do we do at concerts and what do we do in the shower?
- 22:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we we sing songs, we like we have music playing when we're getting a shower, we're singing.
- 22:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It doesn't matter.
- 22:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We don't have to be the greatest singer in the world, it doesn't matter.
- 22:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're singing, and I feel like by us putting some of that energy of singing that song, it doesn't matter if the words are right, doesn't matter if they're on point melody-wise.
- 22:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh it's just a fact of it's taking energy from being anxious, being stressful, and in directing some of that energy to music.
- 23:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And it's not gonna, I don't know, but I I don't think it's gonna a hundred percent take take away the uh all the stress, all the anxiety.
- 23:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It might, but it's it's it's kind of as we mentioned, we got different tools in our tool belt.
- 23:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's a tool that we can use to have our anxiety and stress maybe lowered, even even if it's just a little bit.
- 23:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is why I tell people all the time, no matter what it is, if it's reducing anxiety or stress, even just a little bit, that little bit is not stress or anxiety anymore.
- 23:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's energy singing the song, it's energy playing even in our minds, in our heads.
- 24:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like we're we're following the melody, we're following the lyrics, even though we don't might not know them.
- 24:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's just a song and the melody's catchy and and the lyrics are catchy, but we just we again like we we don't have to be in that band to get and reap the benefits of music and music therapy.
- 24:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so we want to just keep that all in mind that what may be for me trying to sing a song, they're like, oh I didn't get this word, or I didn't get these words, I didn't get the melody.
- 24:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I did it doesn't matter.
- 24:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It took focus away from all the other things that are going on in our head, which we all have so many, so many tens or hundreds, there's just so many things going in our in our mind.
- 25:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some good, some worrying, some anxious, some stress, all those things.
- 25:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we can just take a little bit of that, you know, if we look at like our mind and and and body and and all that, uh mind, body, spirit, soul, event, everything, it's a hundred percent.
- 25:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If we take a one percent or a half of one percent, and we put it towards something that isn't stress, isn't like as long as you're not and I'm not uh cutting ourselves down because we miss the words or miss the melody.
- 25:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: As long as we're not doing that, then it's positive.
- 25:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's positive.
- 26:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because we're taking we're taking a little bit and we're making it non-anxious, non-stressful time.
- 26:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we covered a lot, a lot on music.
- 26:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I just I just looked at the clock, um, and we're over 25 minutes uh at at this point, and I thought it was a a good time, so Taylor did it.
- 26:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She dropped music in the same week that Ella Langley hit 23 weeks being the number one, and Justin Bieber pulled up in a park and just kind of like just started playing music with very little equipment.
- 26:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But that's not the whole story.
- 27:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Justin Bieber also helped a lot of people with gift cards and supplies that people in that area so dearly need.
- 27:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so we want to thank Justin Bieber for doing that, for helping, for not even just thinking about it, he's he's acting on it, and that's huge.
- 27:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So we hope you enjoyed this episode.
- 27:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you have, drop us comments, give us a big thumbs up, like, follow, subscribe, share, reshare, repost, word of mouth.
- 27:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If you don't have your phone out watching, listening to this episode, pull that out if you can reach out to maybe 25, 50, or 100 contacts and share the voices for voices, podcasts, and TV show.
- 27:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We greatly appreciate that.
- 27:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Until next time, let's celebrate all the voices in the world and let's be a voice not only for ourselves, but somebody else in need that may not be able to share their voice.
- 28:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll talk to you.
- 28:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We'll see you next time.
- 28:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Bye bye for now.
