- 3:29go on through the show. Right, hope is putting faith to work when
- 3:34doubting would be easier. Listen, I'm gonna explaining to you why I chose
- 3:37this quote and find it appropriate for tonight's show. But listen, I told
- 3:42you I'm not stalling. Tonight's guests. Is someone that's dear to my heart
- 3:46on the day, in my heart, but this one it's like home because
- 3:49maybe because she comes from where I come from. We come from the same
- 3:53town, and that is Windance, New York, the one one seven nine
- 3:57eight. And listen, I've been watching this young lady since elementary school.
- 4:01I remember in the gym watching her dance, you know, with um the
- 4:06dance teacher. You know, mister Hayes. This woman is phenomenal. She's
- 4:12a mother, she's a wife, she's an entrepreneur, but above all,
- 4:15she's an entrepreneur so listen, I'm gonna present to some and introduced to others
- 4:19my childhood friend, my sister, my warrior for life friend, sister,
- 4:27Tracy Wilkins Francis. Are you there, Tracy, Hey watching girl? Listen?
- 4:38Listen. Oh my god, I'm so glad to have you here.
- 4:42Let's do you know? Justice? Are you tonight? How are you?
- 4:46I am doing well? Blessed and holly favorite? Ye Listen. I've been
- 4:54admiring you all my life. Like I said, watching you dance, you
- 5:00was quiet, but you knew those dance steps. And it's like if I
- 5:03can compare you to Beyonce, and I will compare you to Beyonce because that's
- 5:08how great you are. Quiet, right, But when you get on that
- 5:14stage, it's like you just transform a whole new, different person. You're
- 5:19like, wow, she had all that inside. So listen, tell us,
- 5:23tell us a little something about yourself. Oh my goodness, worried I
- 5:26start? So, my name is Tracy Wilkins Francis. As you've heard,
- 5:31I am from wine Dan just lived there, grew up there, worked there
- 5:35for a while before I ventured out on my own. I am a mom
- 5:41of a thirteen year old, was turned thirteen and March my own lay and
- 5:49oh my goodness, I'm an author of a series of diverse books that make
- 5:56life lessons and habits memorable for ages three to nine. I um the owner
- 6:00and founder of Energy and Publishing Company, and as Erica said, I perform
- 6:05um And yeah, that's that's just some of the stuff. Girl. I'm
- 6:12just I'm just proud of you to see something great come out of where we
- 6:16come from. You know, growing up, you know, no matter what,
- 6:21no matter what the world viewed us as, we were a community that
- 6:28loved our people, We cared for people, We looked out for each other.
- 6:32You know. So what are your thoughts when you hear they say nothing
- 6:36good comes out of wine Dance or they nicknamed us crime Dance. How do
- 6:41you feel about that? Well, you know that that's not true, and
- 6:46it hurts. It does hurt because these people don't know us. They don't
- 6:48know I'm sorry, I don't know where we've been. Um. I remember
- 6:54being in college. Um, I went to America University in Washington, d
- 6:58C. And having the people from other parts of the Long Island who didn't
- 7:03look like me, And as soon as they found Alice from Winding like what.
- 7:06They were like surprised, and they had all these preconceived notions. But
- 7:11when I broke it down and said, look, we had a band.
- 7:14We had the best band along island. We went here with the band,
- 7:16We went there with the band. We had dance. We you know,
- 7:19we before the Marriott, Marquis in all these places. When I started down
- 7:25and I'm saying, oh, I didn't know that. Of course you didn't
- 7:29know that because it wasn't known. You know that, And I love seeing
- 7:33what is going It was happening in wine dance right now, especially recently when
- 7:39um another wine dance warrior, Dawa Matthews and spoken with Sybilly's the principal at
- 7:46the high school and made it happening so these young men could go to Ghana.
- 7:51What about life changing events? Trip? That was? I saw that,
- 8:00that was. That was awesome. So that leads me to my next
- 8:03question. So, like you said, it's a lie. Great great people
- 8:07have come out of windages. We have doctors, lawyers, we have entrepreneurs,
- 8:15we have business people, we have I mean just so many different people,
- 8:20but no one hears about it. So we're going to blow up this
- 8:24show so they can hear about it. So I want to start with you
- 8:26because you found it, not Robert Reid to bless me with your predators and
- 8:31I listen, listen, I'm grateful. So you are an author, tell
- 8:37me, tell me about it. How did that get started? M Well,
- 8:41there's a couple of stories behind that that kind of culminated together to make
- 8:48it all happen. So years ago. Well, let me go all the
- 8:54way back. So when I was about in fourth grade, it was something
- 8:58and I always loved to do. I love reading and I love to write.
- 9:03Um I would I'm not kid that would rush home to have that book
- 9:09in my face on the porch. Um that kid that when you put the
- 9:16book away from the table, please don't take the book with you dinner table.
- 9:22And also writing creating stories I have. There were a few friends,
- 9:26close friends and I we would create these stories with these characters, and after
- 9:31we were done, we were brand them. I guess you would call a
- 9:33branding now by tying red ribbon around it. And it's ironic because one of
- 9:39them is a dear close friend of mine. Also from one dance she listened
- 9:41in Georgia now and she is an author too. She's a Christian author,
- 9:46self health author, so our our journeys have just manifested himselves that way.
- 9:52But um, it really started probably twenty twelve, twenty thirteen. I was
- 9:58in a dark place personally. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do.
- 10:01I was overwhelming because I was I was still relatively a new mom with
- 10:05this two three year old, you know, and a lot of my friends
- 10:09their kids were much older. I'm going through this. I'm like, oh
- 10:15my goodness, what's going on? And so that led me to journaling,
- 10:20okay, and that journaling led me to a women's men online women's ministry I
- 10:26can't remember the name of right now, and I submitted some of my journal
- 10:31entries and they were like, wow, this is great. Can you write
- 10:33for us? So I started writing some devotionals for them. And then the
- 10:37next thing, I knew, my husband is planting this seed in my mind,
- 10:41which I knew it was just divine intervention. It was the Lord like
- 10:46you should really, you know, you should really right, remember what we
- 10:48talked about when we went on that vacation without son and where he was going
- 10:52crazy for four hours watching Barney. So I said, okay, all right,
- 11:00that was time. So I sat down and I wrote these stories,
- 11:03and twenty and fifteen they were officially published, the first one Birthday Bubbles,
- 11:09and then it grew to ten plus. Because I'm working on UM a couple
- 11:13of middle grade books right now. I am so proud of you, UM.
- 11:20Speaking of your books, I know you have many books, and I
- 11:22have a few. I believe Birthday Bubbles was sent to UM one of my
- 11:28grandchildren's for their birthday. But listen, I got this one right here.
- 11:33Listen, I am not ready for now. We're gonna talk about all your
- 11:37books, but I show I found this one appropriate when I when I was
- 11:41going through your catalog, and I find it appropriate because my daughter, our
- 11:46daughter Charity, been wanted a dog. My husband and I called her no.
- 11:50I told her no, and she got egging the bag. I want
- 11:52a dog. I want a dog. I want a dog. So my
- 11:54husband finally said, if your mother gets on board, and I was like,
- 11:58I'm not getting on the board because a dog, it's like like children.
- 12:01She's about to be at the house. Why do I want to take
- 12:03on this responsibility. Needless to say, twenty twenty one COVID hit COVID HIT
- 12:09he tested the positive one day, I tested the positive. The next day
- 12:13I tested. He tested positive June first. I tested positive June second,
- 12:16June third, my daughter left the gold look at a dog and came home
- 12:22with Zuko. Hey, mom, was Zuko and I'm just like my husband
- 12:26was in hospital with COVID. I'm just like, oh love guy, this
- 12:31has happened. Then I didn't want to touch the dog. I didn't want
- 12:35to get close to the dog because I knew he was gonna make us give
- 12:39the dog back. Needless to say, my husband caused me one day from
- 12:41the hospital and we just learned how to do the video on Messenger and the
- 12:46dog. He was a puppy, Tracy. He was such a cute little
- 12:50puppy and he was jumping on the table and I was like, yea of
- 12:52my table, yet off my glass basis. He's like, who are you
- 12:56talking to? And I was like, huh. You know when your kids
- 13:00I'm wrong. I'm like, huh huh. He's like, who you're talking
- 13:03to? After I was talking to the dog, then you tell Cherry she
- 13:05can have a dog, and he was quiet. Needless to say, Dad
- 13:11was in June right, my daughter was going to because remember twenty twenty She
- 13:16grabbuate from high school was Colvid. So we wasn't letting anybody go anywhere.
- 13:18So it's August twenty twenty one. We think she's going to school online.
- 13:22No, she is going to school up in Durham. Who's watching the dogs?
- 13:26Tracy, New York. But Tracy checked this out. The girl then
- 13:33totally moved out the house. Now where is the dog? So tell me
- 13:39was you thinking of me when you wrote this book? What it is you
- 13:41to write this book? Child? I was thinking about me, me and
- 13:48my husband. So that one is I wanted to create a job the book.
- 13:54So when my son was about seven years old, he daddy, can
- 14:01I have a hamster? I want a turrible. I want a hamster like
- 14:05able hands. But no, you're not getting any pets, not even a
- 14:07fish, because you're not responsible enough to have one. We know what one?
- 14:13We had a black lab Oh, he was so precious, but he
- 14:16was before our someone was born, and he died one month after our someone
- 14:20was born. So did I? We were done? We were done,
- 14:24okay, but in anyway he just kept begging and begging and bagging, and
- 14:28here comes who do you think comes in? Grandma? And granddad, Oh,
- 14:33oh, no, I have a dog or a drible So we actually
- 14:37did go to like the pet store or whatever and look around like no.
- 14:41So Grandma and granddad they come like, oh, why don't you get him
- 14:45a rabbit? Like a rabbit? He said he wanted a roar hands barbie
- 14:48getting him a rabbit. So Grandma said, oh, there's these cute little
- 14:52lionhead rappist. They actually their um face is full of fur and it's shaped
- 14:58like a man, so they looked like a line. They're the cutest little
- 15:03thing. Next night, I know we got this lion head rabbit. He's
- 15:05all excited about it for Christmas, even though you know, how can we
- 15:09say no? The grandma and granddad. So he was fine with the rabbit
- 15:15because this is Christmas. Mind you, everyone's old the rabbit. Well a
- 15:20month later, now the real test begins. Joseph, did you feed the
- 15:26rabbit? Did you did you did you get you put water in the rabbit's
- 15:31cage? Did you take the rabbit out to play with them? Oh?
- 15:33My god, this is too much brush where I can't take it anymore.
- 15:37So Grandma, Granddad, this is whobby didn't want. What are we gonna
- 15:45do with the pet, should we go and sell them? Because it was
- 15:48equally strustful for myself and my husband. My husband's working crazy hours because he
- 15:54worked for the Medical Examiner's office, so can you imagine I was still working
- 15:58at a school what the time. So my mom grandma said, oh,
- 16:03I know one to give the rabbit away and somebody do something. I'll take
- 16:07the rabbit back. So grandma and granddad took the rabbit back. And thus
- 16:14years later it was a twenty seventeen, so back in twenty twenty so five,
- 16:18four, three, three or so years later, I'm not ready for
- 16:22her pet was born for all that's my parents out there. In fact,
- 16:27there's where's the dedication? The dedication says, I gotta find it. Oh,
- 16:33this book is dedicated to Rufus, which is the name of the pet,
- 16:37my son's first pet for three months, because he wasn't ready for one.
- 16:41H I love it, I love it, and I love all the
- 16:51things that came. I have your magnet on my refrigerator. Jojo Bean.
- 16:55You gave me bookmarks that I love. You gave me information. I love
- 17:02it, I love it, I love it. But what I loved what
- 17:04you wrote to Erica, that God continue to bless you and use you to
- 17:08inspire a future generation of entrepreneurs. Warriors Forever. Tracy Wilkins Francis. I
- 17:15love I love opening packages and receiving my books. But tell me about Jojo
- 17:22Beans. Like, I know your son, Joseph. It's the character,
- 17:26it's the inspiration behind Joojo. So tell me how success journey has been thus
- 17:32far with u Jojo Beans. So u Jojo being as you said, he
- 17:37was inspired the characters inspired by my son. And that was that trip that
- 17:41I was talking about earlier where we got lost for four hours. My husband
- 17:45was like, you know, we were tortured by listening to Barney in the
- 17:49video for the DBD. And my husband said, this is funny. And
- 17:56I said, well, it might be funny one day, but it's not
- 17:57gonna be funny now. He said, you're gonna a book about this.
- 18:00I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. So two years later he's remember
- 18:03that book idea I talked to you about. So I said okay, and
- 18:07that's when I sat and I mapped it out. So the thing about Jojo
- 18:11being this is real life situation, is not anything made up. Is everything
- 18:17that children will go through birthday bubbles. You know, birthdays. Kids,
- 18:21they want to have a birthday if you leave it up to them, birthday
- 18:22every day. Consequences of having those birthdays every day, you're not able to
- 18:30share with other people. So if your your witch happened, they have a
- 18:34birthday every day, and what about everybody else? After a while, it's
- 18:37going to get old, you know, m delectable vegetables, that's that's one
- 18:42of the popular ones kids. You know, when they get younger, a
- 18:45lot than what do they want to eat? Chicken nuggets, fries, pizza,
- 18:48cookies. So getting them to understand the meaning of eating healthy. So
- 18:56is it best to have them to understand that through something they understand. So
- 19:00the characters that I talked to Jojo being about eating healthy or his toys,
- 19:07Um, what else is in there? We have safe water safety, all
- 19:10of your safety first. So that's all about what the safety around the pool.
- 19:12Because one day I took my son and I think my nephew or his
- 19:18friend to the pool and I'm watching all these kids just just oh, it
- 19:25was just so dangerous, you know, all kinds of things running and jumping
- 19:30into the pool and not being aware of the surroundings, going down the pool
- 19:34backwards and all this kind of stuff and the parents on the ball, and
- 19:38the parents are okay with it. So I created that story to talk about
- 19:45war of the safety. How Jojo Being he has all these ideas are all
- 19:49unsafe where you have fun? So is he able to have fun and still
- 19:55enjoy being at the pool and being by all these rules? Of course you
- 20:00know he is. So that's one. The other one is park Blues,
- 20:06and that's being aware of your surroundings. It talks about cooperation and listening skills.
- 20:15And then my last one is the Christmas Coade that talks that teaches lessons
- 20:22about compassion and kindness. So it's all based on things that children say or
- 20:30they do. With the Christmas Coade, when if you take a child shopping,
- 20:33especially Christmas, where they're gonna do, oh, we're shopping here from
- 20:36mom and dad, Oh I want this this, and before you know,
- 20:41you have a kurt full of toys and you're not there for what you're supposed
- 20:45to be there. So through that journey, Jojo Being learns about compassion and
- 20:52kindness and giving and the spirit of Christmas and what Christmas is really is supposed
- 20:56to be about through a special friend that he meets means a homeless boy in
- 21:02the store trying to get warm. And then after that he understands the meaning
- 21:07of the true meaning of Christmas and he does something very compassion and kind.
- 21:12He gives us himself to this little boy. I love it. I love
- 21:17it, I love it. So listen, we're gonna take our first commercial
- 21:19break, and we're gonna come back, but our athopreneur a guest, Miss
- 21:25Tracy Wilcoams Francis, We'll be right back after this commercial break. Hey,
- 22:37hey, hey, family, welcome, Welcome back to Very's Joint. I'm
- 22:40more than a woman's podcast. I'm your host, doctor Erica Timore, and
- 22:45I am here with my special guest, the lovely, talented and gifted Ententpreneuria
- 22:49and publisher Tracy Wilkins Francis, all the way from Wine Dancer. I just
- 22:55messed up your name. I apologized, Tracy Wilkins Frand listen to what's what's
- 23:03going on with that beautiful with that beautiful commercial? What's what's what's that about?
- 23:07There? Am I gonna do so many things in that conversial. So
- 23:11that was just basically some of the things on my author journey. Author visits
- 23:15a lot of the events we did, both virtual and in person. I
- 23:22think my son's picture was in there because he's the inspiration. And he also
- 23:26wrote an illustrated a book that I published eight so that you know he's thirteen
- 23:32now. So yeah, the great thing about being an entrepreneur is you get
- 23:38a chance to do all these things and really influence their future generation. My
- 23:45husband and I we went to career day in wine Dance. We went to
- 23:48the Martin Muthie King Elementary School and we spoke to five classes with each about
- 23:55thirty weeks or so students in each fork today about what we do with the
- 24:00writing, so me as an author and my husband as a film, film
- 24:04and script writer. But most importantly, we talked to them about they could
- 24:11do the same thing. About the power the pen, how the everything,
- 24:15whether it's a commercial or you're writing lyrics, or you're writing a book,
- 24:19or you're writing a movie script, anything, video games, even it all
- 24:22starts with the pen and in the power of the mine. And their eyes
- 24:26just lit up so much, not so much because we were there, but
- 24:33I guess because we were there because we were from Wine Dance we looked like
- 24:41we took with them so they're just to see the possibilities of what they can
- 24:47do. They just were so stoked and so loving. I love it.
- 24:52I love it. I love the fact that you and your husband are both
- 24:55talented and gifted and you're doing great things together. And as we had to
- 25:00opportunity to speak privately before the podcast began, you were sharing a lot of
- 25:04great things that you're doing. Um, teaching literacy. Um, it was
- 25:08just at a summit. Tell me, tell me what you've been doing.
- 25:11What you talk about too? So yeah, so so I Uh. Saturday,
- 25:21I was a panelist okay, an amazing group of women from all over
- 25:27that was called Unbreakable Success. Spoke about how to achieve unbreakable, unbreakable success
- 25:37in your relationships and that's business relationships as well as personal relationships. Um.
- 25:44We also talked about testimonies. A lot of women had some amazing, amazing
- 25:49testimonies, Um, you know, how they battle cancer and things like that,
- 25:55and we gave out a lot of tips. I did it from an
- 25:59author perspective. Has a financial person, has somebody a real estate, self
- 26:03help coaches, just so many things and it was an amazing experience an opportunity
- 26:08to be a part of to be able to to reach out and help people
- 26:14in that way. I love it, comment UM. And then the career
- 26:19day was last week. I have we have a couple of Arthur visits tomorrow,
- 26:27Thursday, next week and then there's a small break and we start over
- 26:33a kid and yeah, that's just guys, there's so many things. I
- 26:40don't get busy. You're busy and that's it. And that's a good thing,
- 26:44Tracy, because you seem like UM, your path as an entrepreneur that
- 26:48has rarely taken off, and you are doing great things. So what are
- 26:52some of the doors that have been made open or made available to you because
- 26:56you are an author? UM, I think being able to get my books
- 27:03out there into schools, into libraries. I actually had an organization they were
- 27:10doing some research and they found me on Facebook. So they bought They had
- 27:18this grant and they bought a booth. They both purchased my Safety First book
- 27:23because they were all about doing safety. In each quarter they do a different
- 27:29series about safety. So that quarter that reached out to me, it was
- 27:33actually border safety. Okay, so many different doors. Even going to UM,
- 27:38I went to Roosevelt Library, doctor Able. Yes, I'm sorry.
- 27:45I'm sorry. He made that possible. So I went there to kick off
- 27:49there Read Across America event, because you know, reading month was the month
- 27:56of March, and because I did that, I had and one of the
- 28:00principles at Roosevelt to reach out to me said, we want you to come
- 28:03in and do author physics. So that's one of the schools. I'm going
- 28:07to one of their elementary schools next week. So it's just an amazing journey
- 28:12and the people that you meet, and the more I meet people, the
- 28:15more passionate I get about writing and expressing myself and and what the young people
- 28:26are going through and just being a reflection of what they can do when they
- 28:32get older. And now, really you have so many young writers and illustrated
- 28:38you don't even have to wait till you get older. So I think there's
- 28:41some questions in the chat. Yes, my husband asked you how many books
- 28:47has you? So that is a good question. I don't have an account
- 28:53of it right now. I would have to pull up my spreadsheet, but
- 28:56definitely hundreds and hundreds and hundreds, probably somewhere in the thousands. Congratulations.
- 29:03Yeah, So definitely, especially when I do the bulk sales. So you
- 29:07know, that's a blessing to be able to get the message and the word
- 29:14across. Because the other thing I'm passionate about is showing this diversity in literature
- 29:18because it's still It's getting better, but it's still not there. There was
- 29:23a study by the University of Wisconsin, I think it's the Children's Cooperative Education
- 29:30Unit where they said in twenty twenty twenty or twenty twenty one, less than
- 29:37eleven percent of the characters in children's books and this is published I'm sure it's
- 29:45not self published authors are African Americans or block for other cultures or races.
- 29:55It's even less now, this isn't twenty twenty. And how of those books
- 30:00feature characters who are UM, Black African American? About thirty maybe twenty five
- 30:08to thirty percent are written truly by UM black and African American authors or BIPOP
- 30:17by BIPOP people of color, black people in black, indigenous and people of
- 30:22color. So how to do better? We must? Yeah that um that
- 30:29there's a lot of self published authors coming out now with some amazing books.
- 30:33Yeah, so that's a good thing. But traditionally we still have to break
- 30:37down. We still have to bear down warriors and doors. YEP, I
- 30:41agree. So let mess you this question. How was how is the support
- 30:45from the Wine Dance on Warrior community. Have they been, you know,
- 30:49showing up supporting your your books and growths? Like how is the support from
- 30:55the Yeah? Absolutely absolutely, whether they're shared on Facebook, but like hey
- 31:00I saw you, you know there are or how you know, just showing
- 31:07love by hopping on on the podcast like this or my um social media page.
- 31:12The love has definitely been there. I mean sometimes I go people are
- 31:17like, hey, when I mentioned it, or they seen the books,
- 31:19like I've seen that book before. Some people say I've seen you or TV
- 31:23Yes not yet, but that's going to too. We declared, we created,
- 31:33were declared to created this soul. Black Diamond says, what was your
- 31:37inspiration behind the books? So my inspiration is my son, none other than
- 31:45my son. He is Jill Joe being he was in that shot um that
- 31:51was to end his school uniform. That was him at the beginning of this
- 31:53year. So he still looks a lot of two. He looks a lot
- 31:56of different. He looks different now because he's going into eighth grade after this
- 32:00year my son. Because another reason, and one of the most important reasons
- 32:08that I wrote the book is because I've wanted my son and his friends to
- 32:15be able to pick up a book and say, wow, these characters look
- 32:17like me. It's important to me because my son has such a diverse group
- 32:21of friends. So why isn't it reflected in the books that we read?
- 32:27I agree, we have time for one more question. What would I want
- 32:31to ask you? So we talked about the summit. Did we talk about
- 32:37the literacy? The things that you're doing in the elementary school? The literacy?
- 32:43So I am a literacy specialist, Yeah, La Francis Hardeman for the
- 32:49New York Edge program. Um When did I started that? I started a
- 32:53couple of weeks ago. So this is my third week congratulation. Thank you.
- 32:58So now I have because they're kindergarten first and second, I'm trying to
- 33:02build up that love of reading, and a lot of them do and that's
- 33:06a lot of talent. I'm telling you some of the drawings and stories in
- 33:09the mind, I'm like wow, So, you know, helping them to
- 33:14get that creativity down on paper. So for a showcase, because there's a
- 33:17showcase next month, we are going to be creating a comic strip lariary.
- 33:25They come up so comic strip slash graphic novel. So that's fun. And
- 33:30I also have a Facebook group here called Joe Joe Being Reading friend Z and
- 33:39that group was created as a result of alive that I did back in November.
- 33:45It was Black Black Friday with a friend of mine, I teach,
- 33:49a friend of mine from Florida. We got on we talked about how to
- 33:52find how to find engaging books. Okay, because sometimes when your child doesn't
- 34:00like to read, it may be that there's a reading issue, but sometimes
- 34:06it could be just they're not interested in the book. So we talked about
- 34:10what to look for how to get your child to read more. You don't
- 34:14necessarily have to get your child to sit in and read a physical book because
- 34:17reading is all around us. And I have apparent guide that I created.
- 34:24It's free, so if you go to my website and sign up for my
- 34:30newsletter, you could download that free guide and it has a lot of links
- 34:32to a lot of different sources that you could use and tips to help your
- 34:37child to read more and have that desire to read. But back to the
- 34:43group, so the book. The group is an extension of that. We
- 34:45have a lot of parents, educators and advocates in the group, so there's
- 34:50an extension of that Live. I have the parent Empowerment series that kicked off
- 34:54with that live where every month is a different topic. So we did reading
- 34:58one month, another month, did math another month. We talked about In
- 35:04April, we talked about diversity in literature, why it's important. This month
- 35:10we're going to be speaking about financial literacy. The lie about homeschooling because a
- 35:17lot of people dismiss homeschooling, but actually don't dismiss this so quickly, and
- 35:22it's not as um. It's not as complicated as people think. It's actually
- 35:30a lot of African Americas, people in general, but especially advocate Americas,
- 35:36after the pandemic, pulled their students, their children out of the traditional school
- 35:42and homeschool. So about that, and then the last Live four and then
- 35:46we'll break for the summer, we'll be talking about special education. Okay,
- 35:52I've done all these things, and my child was struggling, at what point,
- 35:57yes, can I will I know or should I have the childer value?
- 36:01And at what point am I going to say, Okay, you know
- 36:05what there might be a real problem. What are the signs, what can
- 36:07I do? What are your rights as a parent? So that yeah,
- 36:12this twenty twenty three, twenty two, twenty three, and then we'll start
- 36:15up again in September October. I love it, Tracy, I am sure.
- 36:21I am so proud of you in all of your accomplishments. I solute
- 36:25to I celebrate you, my warrior system. I mean you listen to your
- 36:30thing with the publishing of the books and everything. I called you were like
- 36:32I need to advice. You're right there and the podcast. You are doing
- 36:37your thing, and I think I love you, think you I love you
- 36:43more, Thank you, thank you. So listen before we go, tell
- 36:46the people how they can find you, how they can contact you, how
- 36:51they can reach out to you. Because you have your publishing company. We
- 36:53didn't get to talk about bachelor. I got to bring you back because we
- 36:55are running out of time. Time flies when you're having fun. So listen,
- 37:00um black dime. I think I answer her questions already, I apologize,
- 37:05So yeah, so tell us how we can contact you, and you
- 37:07have any last final thoughts and say the floors yelled at you. Okay,
- 37:12so you could UM contact me. My social media handles are on Facebook.
- 37:19It's just like it has to hear um, Instagram is Wilkens Francis and YouTube
- 37:25is Jojo Being Adventures. So there's some fun videos there with the characters.
- 37:30Or you can just simply go to my website at www dot trace Wilkins Frances
- 37:36dot com. I think it's in the chat right there. And I just
- 37:38want to say, because I know we are talked about this before UM the
- 37:43live started about hope, So okay, you UM. There are gonna be
- 37:50times where you're gonna get discouraged. There are gonna be times where you're gonna
- 37:55want to give up. They're gonna be times where you're gonna doubt yourself in
- 38:00question why you're doing this in the first place, or why am I going
- 38:04through this? But the number one thing that always keeps me going, because
- 38:09trust me, there's been times that I want to give up, is remember
- 38:15your why, Remember your why, Remember why you're doing it in the first
- 38:21place. And you don't want to be alone on this journey because writing and
- 38:28anything in general, but particularly writing is a very isolating thing to do because
- 38:34you know, we we go on our computers or I like to keep before
- 38:42I put on the computer, and we kind of put ourselves in the office
- 38:47or a bubble alone so we could focus. So as you continue to do
- 38:52that for a while, it can't get a little depressing. But remember this
- 38:58community is tightening, is close out to people. Don't be afraid. There's
- 39:02so many people on Facebook. You can reach out to me, you can
- 39:06reach out to Erica. There are a lot of Facebook groups out there with
- 39:08authors, writers who truly help each other. So remember you are not alone,
- 39:16and don't feel like you are alone. When you feel that way,
- 39:20reach out to somebody and get that help, get that support, get those
- 39:23encouraging words that you need so you could remember your why. That's one of
- 39:28the reasons why I do a lot of the things I do, like the
- 39:32career day and things like that, because they helped me to remember my why.
- 39:37I was going back and forth for men like should I do picture books
- 39:39or should I Should I do the middle grade books, or should I just
- 39:43forget writing any more books at all? Because I got two books. I'm
- 39:46in the middle of them and I haven't finished them because I was just like,
- 39:51oh what am I gonna do? And when I went my husband and
- 39:54I went to career Day on Friday, and we spoke to those kids and
- 40:00the scholars. Excuse and we spoke to the scholars, and I were so
- 40:04excited about hearing what we were doing. There was my answer right there.
- 40:12I love it. I love it. I thank you again for stopped by
- 40:15every joint warding the women's podcast. We're gonna get you back. We're gonna're
- 40:19gonna put you back upon the calendar. I am listen, y'all heard it.

- 40:27your publishing needs for her books, listening her books about everybody again. I
