- 0:00Speaker 1: Melissa, thanks for holding Hi.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Yes, I'm calling in because I heard you guys talking
- 0:03Speaker 2: about Rover.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Yes earlier this morning.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Yes, Dylan, who works on our show, told us that
- 0:08Speaker 1: she has kind of a she's had a gig since
- 0:10Speaker 1: she was fifteen, working for the Rover app where she
- 0:12Speaker 1: walks dogs and takes care of dogs and there's different
- 0:14Speaker 1: kind of levels. Then you sent the text in that
- 0:17Speaker 1: all of us had our jaw dropped. So we want
- 0:19Speaker 1: to hear your story.
- 0:20Speaker 4: What the dogs out?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Okay?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Perfect? So we booked a dog fitter from Rover to
- 0:26Speaker 3: go and like we were going on a vacation, we
- 0:28Speaker 3: needed someone to watch our dogs.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We kind of lost contact with her a little bit through.
- 0:33Speaker 3: The vacation and I just thought, okay, I.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Mean that hopefully means nothing's wrong. We get there back
- 0:40Speaker 2: to the.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Helm and when we go insign, she was dead on
- 0:45Speaker 3: our couch. No way, Yes, she was dead. The dog
- 0:50Speaker 3: fitter was dead. And we thought maybe she was sleeping.
- 0:54Speaker 2: We's not like, oh, maybe she's asleep.
- 0:56Speaker 3: And you know, we quickly realized that she was dead
- 0:59Speaker 3: for a few days already.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Oh no, do you know what happened?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Like how would happen?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Eventually, it took.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Months for like the autopsy to come back. But yeah,
- 1:10Speaker 3: she had an accidental DNA drill overdose.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Oh yeah, gosh, that's insane.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm never using Rover again, maybe for to
- 1:22Speaker 3: hire a Dylan specifically. No one's ever allowed to sleep
- 1:24Speaker 3: at my house again.
- 1:26Speaker 4: We wait, was there like a like did the police
- 1:28Speaker 4: officers and they got there, did they have to like, oh, okay,
- 1:31Speaker 4: this is a random lady. Was there any criminal investigation
- 1:34Speaker 4: or was it pretty easy?
- 1:36Speaker 3: They very quickly realized, like this is just like an accident.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I started to think, oh my gosh, because my back
- 1:41Speaker 3: door was left open, and like they put the story together,
- 1:45Speaker 3: she probably wasn't feeling well, left the door open so
- 1:48Speaker 3: the dogs could go out, and then she like took
- 1:50Speaker 3: some BENA drill and just never woke up. Oh my gosh, gosh,
- 1:54Speaker 3: Like what if someone broken and at my house and
- 1:57Speaker 3: like we're responsible? But no, they knew all instantly. There
- 2:00Speaker 3: was like no foul play or anything like that.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Okay, so when you walk in and you see her
- 2:06Speaker 1: on the couch and you think she's sleeping, how many
- 2:08Speaker 1: times did you poke her before you realize she's dead?
- 2:13Speaker 3: Well, my husband, he first like kind of tried to
- 2:16Speaker 3: shake her and then he grabbed her arm and it was,
- 2:19Speaker 3: you know, like stiff, like a barbie.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and then I started screaming like she's dead.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yea the police and yeah, you get your money back?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Moving to do you get your money back from Rover?
- 2:35Speaker 1: So your dogs weren't fat outside?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they offered to cover like vet bills, and they.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Were very I mean like this has never happened to
- 2:43Speaker 3: them before. They were all in shock. But they did
- 2:46Speaker 3: buy us a new couch, so.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I appreciate that.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Was they were like, buy whatever you want and just
- 2:50Speaker 3: send us the bill.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So were the dogs fine?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Upgrade on the couch.
- 2:54Speaker 3: The dogs were luckily fine.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I think having the door open actually was a good.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Thing because they could go outside and drink the sprinkler
- 3:00Speaker 3: of water. But it was probably two days for assuming
- 3:05Speaker 3: without being fed or anything. But they were okay.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I didn't know you could. I thought Benadrob was okay
- 3:09Speaker 1: for you to take. I mean, I wonder how much
- 3:11Speaker 1: she took. And it was an accident, right now, right.
- 3:14Speaker 3: They say it was an accident, So I think it
- 3:16Speaker 3: was just a little too much. I didn't know there
- 3:19Speaker 3: was a limit. So now I'm weary about Benadryl.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Do you know anything about her, Like, did you hear
- 3:23Speaker 1: from the family, her family or anything.
- 3:25Speaker 4: No.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It was kind of sad because really no one was
- 3:28Speaker 2: like looking for her. She was self employed, divorced, no kids,
- 3:33Speaker 2: so there was really like no one that she would
- 3:36Speaker 2: be like waiting for her to come home or anything.
- 3:38Speaker 1: So did you give her a bad review afterwards? Like
- 3:40Speaker 1: this woman said, this woman died.
- 3:45Speaker 3: They let themselves out from the sprinkler.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So irresponsible. She was just on the couch for two days,
- 3:52Speaker 1: didn't moved by a new couch, was a TV on?
- 3:57Speaker 2: The TV was off?
- 3:59Speaker 3: What the heck? Just went downtime, nap.
- 4:04Speaker 2: It really did like it was very eerie.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Man.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Well, thanks for sharing that story, Melissa Crazy Yeah, have
- 4:12Speaker 1: a great day.
