- 0:13- Welcome to the divine five one five pod
- 0:16- podcast. Here is this week's devotional.
- 0:19- Hello, and welcome
- 0:21- to divine five one five, or as I
- 0:24- like to say, divine prayer for those of
- 0:26- you who are joining us for the first
- 0:27- time. I am your host, Valerie Rocha, and
- 0:30- we are wrapping up our August series
- 0:33- where we've been talking about finding strength through,
- 0:37- prayer and community.
- 0:39- And we've talked about in previous episodes some
- 0:42- of the challenges
- 0:44- that
- 0:45- we face as believers
- 0:47- when we don't have a community that can
- 0:50- provide us the support
- 0:52- and the prayers that are needed to, to
- 0:55- just sometimes make it through life.
- 0:59- I
- 1:00- want to encourage us to always remember that
- 1:05- even in the worst and dire situations,
- 1:08- you're never alone.
- 1:11- Number one, God is right there with you.
- 1:13- And yes, you may not be able to
- 1:15- see him
- 1:16- or feel him, but that doesn't mean that
- 1:18- he's not there.
- 1:20- I, in previous episodes, have used the analogy
- 1:23- that
- 1:25- when you were in school, you would take
- 1:26- the test
- 1:28- and the teacher would be sitting there at
- 1:30- the desk quietly,
- 1:31- but he wouldn't talk.
- 1:34- She wouldn't say anything.
- 1:37- Why? Because she needs you. He needs you
- 1:40- to focus on
- 1:42- what you're doing so that you can work
- 1:44- through
- 1:45- the problem on the test.
- 1:48- And prayer is a lot like that
- 1:51- when we are
- 1:54- faced with adversaries.
- 2:01- Now today's scripture that I wanna talk about
- 2:03- comes from Ecclesiastes
- 2:05- four nine through 10, where it says two
- 2:07- are better than one. And if either of
- 2:10- them
- 2:11- falls down, one can help the other one.
- 2:14- And remember we talked about an,
- 2:16- an earlier episode
- 2:18- that
- 2:19- even when Jesus sent the disciples out, he
- 2:22- sent them out two by two because
- 2:24- each one had a special skill set. And
- 2:26- if one,
- 2:28- needed some encouragement or,
- 2:30- needed some help, the other one was right
- 2:32- there to pray and talk them through it.
- 2:36- But oftentimes
- 2:37- what happens is is that we as believers,
- 2:41- because of some of the challenges that we
- 2:43- may be facing, right? Whether it's financial
- 2:46- or health, and they might be absolutely excruciating.
- 2:51- And yet we're still longing
- 2:53- for that deeper
- 2:54- level in Christ.
- 2:56- We're still
- 2:57- wanting and aching for
- 2:59- something more,
- 3:02- in life, but we struggle to stay consistent
- 3:04- because we're just
- 3:05- so emotionally
- 3:06- tapped out.
- 3:09- I mean, let's face it. Life gets busy
- 3:12- and you can only stay motivated for so
- 3:14- long because it's gonna fade.
- 3:17- And you're probably gonna have more questions than
- 3:20- answers at times.
- 3:23- And yet without
- 3:25- an ongoing
- 3:27- community that loves and cares,
- 3:30- it's easy to settle for occasional spiritual moments
- 3:33- instead of a consistent relationship with God.
- 3:38- I wanna encourage you that
- 3:41- being in a community
- 3:43- of believers
- 3:45- that can pray with you doesn't mean it's
- 3:48- a lot of people. Right?
- 3:50- It could just be one or two people
- 3:52- that
- 3:52- you feel safe with, that you can bear
- 3:54- your heart with,
- 3:56- that
- 3:58- you can
- 3:59- just
- 4:00- be yourself.
- 4:01- And it's a nonjudgmental
- 4:03- zone.
- 4:04- We all need that.
- 4:07- And we should not only be able to
- 4:10- receive it, but we can also be the
- 4:12- answer to our prayer by
- 4:14- helping someone else when we are strong and
- 4:16- we are encouraged and, and being replenished.
- 4:22- Growth flourishes
- 4:23- in a community.
- 4:27- It's, it's almost like a, a buffet, right?
- 4:30- When you go to a buffet, there's more
- 4:32- than enough and a wonderful variety.
- 4:35- And that's why the inner chamber was created.
- 4:42- It's not just about
- 4:46- another
- 4:47- hub.
- 4:49- It's a place where believers can gather to
- 4:51- grow deeper in prayer,
- 4:53- study God's word,
- 4:55- encourage one another and develop a lifestyle of
- 4:58- intimacy with Christ.
- 5:04- You know what? Y'all we cannot make it
- 5:07- without the support of each other. We can't.
- 5:12- And yet society will tell us
- 5:14- you can make it on your own. You
- 5:16- don't need anyone,
- 5:17- but can I encourage you that that is
- 5:19- one of the enemy's greatest strategies
- 5:21- to conquer and divide a July to you
- 5:23- and told you that you don't need anyone
- 5:25- because I guarantee you, I can speak from
- 5:28- personal experience?
- 5:30- There's always somebody who's gone through something similar,
- 5:33- if not exact same thing that you're going
- 5:35- through that can encourage you or tell you
- 5:38- how they made it, or maybe even some
- 5:40- of the mistakes that they made that
- 5:42- hindered their prayers.
- 5:44- The key is to know and remember that
- 5:47- you're not alone.
- 5:50- When you become part of the inner chamber,
- 5:54- you'll find
- 5:55- that it's not just about the the practical
- 5:58- teaching or the guided prayer experience
- 6:01- or or biblical encouragement.
- 6:04- It's a way to remind you that you
- 6:06- don't have to figure out
- 6:08- and do this thing called life's journey
- 6:11- alone.
- 6:13- We were never meant to be
- 6:15- serving life alone.
- 6:17- We're better together.
- 6:21- That being said,
- 6:23- let's pray.
- 6:26- Abba father,
- 6:27- Thank you for always inviting us
- 6:31- deeper into relationship with you.
- 6:35- Continue growing our faith and teaching us to
- 6:37- depend on you daily.
- 6:40- Lead us into
- 6:42- loving,
- 6:44- kind
- 6:45- relationships
- 6:47- and a community that strengthens our walk
- 6:50- with Christ.
- 6:52- Help us become someone who encourages others
- 6:55- just as you continually
- 6:57- encourage us.
- 7:01- If you're ready to move beyond occasional inspiration
- 7:05- and develop a consistent Christ centered prayer life,
- 7:08- maybe you're a new baby
- 7:11- and the Lord, maybe you've walked with the
- 7:13- Lord,
- 7:15- but don't feel like you can pray with
- 7:17- confidence or don't even know where to start.
- 7:20- I would like to invite you to join
- 7:23- us in the inner chamber.
- 7:25- It's a community
- 7:26- where we don't simply talk about prayer. We
- 7:30- practice it together.
- 7:32- Through guided prayer,
- 7:34- biblical teaching, monthly devotionals, and a growing community
- 7:38- of believers, you'll continue developing a lifestyle of
- 7:41- prayer and intimacy with Christ.
- 7:45- We'd love to welcome you
- 7:47- into the inner chamber community.
