- 0:03Jasmine oolong, green and white.
- 0:07Long ago, these four tees were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:11Then, everything changed when the shop's popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr.
- 0:17Okuran, the shop's owner and teammaster, could do was to recruit four teenage orphans to learn his trade and staff his shop.
- 0:26A year has passed since the orphans were hired, and although their skills have progressed, they still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the world.
- 0:40Last time on Benders and Brews an Avatar Legends Podcast mr.
- 0:45Okuran, who owns this tea shop, he calls out, I am running out to the back to check the inventory.
- 0:51I will be right back if anything goes wrong.
- 0:53I'm sure you guys can handle it.
- 0:55Shortly after him the front door, a mid 40s man stumbles into the tea shop.
- 1:02Where can I get the drink? What kind of booze you got? The obviously intoxicated man.
- 1:15I know how to handle this.
- 1:16So you want some alcohol, huh? I know the best place.
- 1:20It's not here.
- 1:21Go cross the street.
- 1:22We're going to take a ride.
- 1:23Go down some stairs.
- 1:24I'll walk you to the door.
- 1:25We can stand out town.
- 1:27I've been doing a lot of bars in the day.
- 1:29I don't remember that one.
- 1:31And then he climbs up onto his table and he just starts shouting, this lady right here, she's like the table wobbles over it.
- 1:41And he falls off the table and just crashes onto the ground.
- 1:44And he looks at Bill and he takes a swing at you.
- 1:47I grab a cup and I fill it with hot dirty dishwasher.
- 1:51Hey, mister, your drinks ready.
- 1:54And he picks up the cup and he downs it.
- 1:57Oh, hey, Mr.
- 1:58That was a dirty drink, but it was dirty dishwater.
- 2:03This giant, muscular, double bearded 17 year old comes stepping out from the back.
- 2:08Or do you really want to get into an altercation now? Look at all these nice people.
- 2:13You're messing up their evenings.
- 2:15Why don't you just head outside? So as he swings his fists, you expertly dodge out of the way and push him ever so slightly towards the door as he lands outside and kind of just rolls onto the ground.
- 2:27And then all of a sudden, all the people in the restaurant start to cheer and clap.
- 2:31Mr.
- 2:31Okuran enters to the back of the shop.
- 2:33What in the world is going on? Hello, everybody, and welcome to Benders and Brews.
- 2:39Podcast.
- 2:40A non canonical avatar.
- 2:42Legends real play.
- 2:43Podcast.
- 2:44My name is Skyler Gorset, and I am the game master, creating the story alongside my co writer, Nick Van Puersem.
- 2:50Not 100% sure how to say his last name.
- 2:53Person.
- 2:55Yeah, person.
- 2:56All right.
- 2:57He gave me the thumbs up and then bringing it to you and the players.
- 3:03Speaking of those players, let's get some introductions on who they are, who they're playing, and they're going to answer today's question for their characters, which is what is a hobby or pastime that your character enjoys? Connor, kick us off.
- 3:17My name is Connor and I am portraying the character of Brock Lee, the Earth Bender.
- 3:23And I believe one of his favorite pastimes would probably be just taking potshots at some seagulls that are terrorizing his farm.
- 3:35And with his earth bending, just hocking some stones and some pebbles at some annoying birds.
- 3:42Hocking some rocks at some annoying birds.
- 3:43I dig it.
- 3:44Awesome.
- 3:45Dave, what do you got for us? I'm playing Guo.
- 3:52That's how we said it.
- 3:53Even Dave can't get his character's name.
- 3:56Well, you're all confused, and I'm playing the Adamant.
- 4:04And what Guo Han likes to do is he likes to be a little trickster.
- 4:10Kind of likes to play pranks on people to spice things up.
- 4:17He's like his favorite tea.
- 4:20That's right.
- 4:21Did he get that from living with the circus and running with the circus for a long time? Yeah.
- 4:26The carnival is all about tricking people.
- 4:30That's right.
- 4:31That's a good point.
- 4:32That's a good point.
- 4:33Cameron, what do you got for us? I'm Cameron.
- 4:36I'm playing Bill Door.
- 4:38The guardian.
- 4:40And what Bill likes to do in his free time is paint.
- 4:47Right on.
- 4:48Landscape pieces, mostly.
- 4:50Okay.
- 4:50Landscape over portraits.
- 4:52Yeah.
- 4:53Awesome.
- 4:54Relax.
- 4:55Bob Ross.
- 4:57Ross.
- 4:57He's basically Bob Ross, except he doesn't really talk about happy little trees.
- 5:01He more just like, paints quietly and grunts to himself.
- 5:04Sure.
- 5:06Makala.
- 5:09My name is Meeka.
- 5:10And Meeka likes to stare in the abyss.
- 5:18What does she see in the abyss? For how long? It depends on the day.
- 5:22That's a good yeah.
- 5:23Sometimes it's hours.
- 5:24She stares into the abyss.
- 5:26Right.
- 5:26Sometimes she sees free thing.
- 5:29Sometimes she seems normal.
- 5:33Brock Lee.
- 5:34They're washing dishes and he looks over.
- 5:37Meeka's got a dead face just staring straight ahead of her while cleaning dishes.
- 5:43Not blinking.
- 5:44Her eyes are glazed over.
- 5:45At least she's getting things done.
- 5:48She also likes to play games with the fish.
- 5:52She has a water better than what games and what fish? The fish in, like, ponds and koi ponds.
- 5:59I'm getting some games, but those fish are the moon.
- 6:02We play One Fish, Two Fish like Fish Olympics sometimes.
- 6:06Other times she'll try and play tricks on them.
- 6:09See if she can get in the swim where she wants to with little bubbles and stuff.
- 6:13Sometimes she swims down with the fish with sushi in her hand.
- 6:18She's like, this is what you could be getting some less.
- 6:23Why is that so important? He controls the weather.
- 6:25Yeah.
- 6:25I knew you're going to make the lemon.
- 6:27I knew that was coming.
- 6:28I had the Lilo reference.
- 6:30I was not going to do it because Disney would sue us.
- 6:34Just cut that part out.
- 6:36We might have to if we get a cease into this wedding name.
- 6:39Anyways.
- 6:40Pouch Pooch.
- 6:45podge.
- 6:46She like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
- 6:48A peanut butter and tuna.
- 6:49She couldn't feed him.
- 6:52That would be an abomination.
- 6:55And then the guy goes, why is he so important? She controls the weather and then she beats up another child.
- 7:02That's right, yes.
- 7:02She heard a dark theory that her parents, like, died in a storm or something.
- 7:07So that's why she's so concerned about she said the movie, like, how they died.
- 7:13They drove in the storm, actually, and they died in a car crash.
- 7:18Well, there you go.
- 7:19It was raining and they went for a drive or something like that.
- 7:25Don't say it.
- 7:26Family never dies, okay? What? We dodged a lawsuit.
- 7:31I think that's 100% in factual.
- 7:34Especially if it's a Disney movie.
- 7:35Yes.
- 7:36Family back.
- 7:37Godzillo.
- 7:38All right, so we're jumping right back into things.
- 7:43What in the world is going on? Well, no thanks to you, we kicked out a drunken drunk.
- 7:49Oh, I'm sorry.
- 7:50I wasn't here for that.
- 7:51I was taking some scones out to some of the people out back.
- 7:55Did you not hear what was going on? No, I was listening to one of the stories of the people I was serving out in the alleyway.
- 8:06I think we all deserve a raise, at least a bonus.
- 8:12You guys are getting paid.
- 8:16I am truly sorry because I had to deal with such a thing without me here.
- 8:21Everyone in the shop, please.
- 8:24I will bring you all a nice calming jasmine tea.
- 8:27Thank you all for putting up with such an undesirable customer.
- 8:32I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
- 8:35And to the four of you, it looks like you have handled yourselves very well.
- 8:39I'm very proud of all of you.
- 8:40Thank you for keeping the shop and the customer safe.
- 8:45Proud doesn't go very far.
- 8:47How a about bonus? He hands each of you three coins out of his pocket.
- 8:54Are they coppers? The gold reforms of the primary currencies.
- 9:05Each nation has kind of a variation of what it looks like, but it all essentially works the same.
- 9:11Well, minus the air nation, they don't really use money.
- 9:14They don't really deal with that.
- 9:16But whatever the case, the money that I have set up is referred to as yuan.
- 9:20And so it's a pretty straightforward monetary system.
- 9:26I can give you guys all around, none of that.
- 9:28Can't believe that drunk made such a mess in here.
- 9:32Guo Han, cleans up the space around where you knocked over the table and everything.
- 9:37I feel like that's very fitting for Glohan and just have an accident.
- 9:45Kind of got in a way.
- 9:46He bumps a table with his belly.
- 9:49So basically, with the monetary system, it will often be referred to in exchangeably between two different forms.
- 9:57So they'll either call it yuan or they will call it copper, silver, gold, which are the three types of coinage of ace.
- 10:06So best way to use it is one copper coin, aka one yuan.
- 10:12Is basically the equivalent of one dollars in our money.
- 10:15One silver or five yuan is equal to $5 in our currency, and one gold or ten yuan is worth $10 in our currency.
- 10:27And these are the more rare forms, which are bars.
- 10:30So you will occasionally, in situations where large purchases are made, you will sometimes see people pay with a copper bar, which is equal to 100 yuan or $100.
- 10:40You will see a silver bar, which is 500 yuan, which is $500, or a gold bar, which is 1000 yuan or $1,000.
- 10:49So it's kind of a 1 5 10 system.
- 10:52So it's pretty simple.
- 10:53I try to keep it as simple as I could.
- 10:55Obviously, there's no exact exchange rate per se from the show because we don't see a whole lot as far as monetary exchange, but that's a basic rundown.
- 11:05So he hands each of you three yuan, which is three copper pieces, which is pretty standard.
- 11:12You usually get paid oh, you will all start with tenu on each, and you usually get paid ten a day.
- 11:19This is the three that he hands each of you.
- 11:22Is a bonus handling that situation, because Meeka was really squishy about it.
- 11:29You got to make a living.
- 11:30Yeah.
- 11:30he says, I am sorry that I could not give more.
- 11:35Pockets are a little tight this month, unfortunately, but hopefully we can find a solution for that.
- 11:43He kind of walks away as he does, and he looks a little down, strangely enough, after mentioning that as the night goes on, things are pretty normal.
- 11:52Mr.
- 11:52Okuran kind of runs the back of the house, making the teas and things like that, but he does seem a little bit down after the conversation before, something just kind of seems a little bit off about him.
- 12:03He seems a little bit distracted as he makes the teas and he makes the scones and other baked goods.
- 12:09Occasionally, he'll get a tea wrong, like, he'll mix the two wrong t's together and oh, my bad, I'll go fix that.
- 12:16Goes and makes another one.
- 12:18Eventually, as the last of the customers leaves, a man steps into the tea shop.
- 12:23So you guys are kind of cleaning up the tables and finishing up in the night.
- 12:27A man steps into the tea shop.
- 12:28He's a younger man, wearing a semi dressy outfit and with sort of one of those pompidor rockabilly style hairstyles where it's like really big right out in front.
- 12:38You see it a lot like anime, where you'll have like those sort of I'm a gangster, want to be bad boy kind of a character.
- 12:46Usually have this kind of a haircut.
- 12:48So he steps into the shop when Mr.
- 12:50Okuran sees him, his face really droops in a discouraged look, as the man says, I need to have a word with you outside, old man.
- 13:01So, sure enough, Mr.
- 13:03And Mr.
- 13:03Okuran, he kind of packs up his things and starts to head out with this young man.
- 13:08Do any of you do anything, or can I follow them? As you go to follow them, the young man turns around.
- 13:14He says, I want to talk with him alone, and the two of them step outside.
- 13:21But if you wanted to sort of like if you were thinking of listening or anything along those lines in any sort of way, let me know how you'd like to do that.
- 13:30Is a tea shop, does it have one or two stories? It would have sort of like a balcony section.
- 13:38So there's, like, the open ceiling up to the balcony, and a lot of customers will set up there's.
- 13:45Just added seats and things like that.
- 13:47I go out the back okay.
- 13:50And around the side.
- 13:51Okay.
- 13:52And I'll stand at the wall so they can't see me, but I can still hear them.
- 13:58Sure.
- 13:59Are they talking at the front door? Yeah, right outside the front door.
- 14:03I'm going to go underneath the window.
- 14:05Okay.
- 14:06All right.
- 14:06I can try to catch some stuff.
- 14:07Okay.
- 14:08The Bill is going to crack the front door open and stand next to a listening audit.
- 14:12Okay.
- 14:12Sounds good for the two of you that are sneaking.
- 14:18So, Bill Door and Brock Lee, I'm going to have you guys roll.
- 14:20Push your luck.
- 14:23Six, seven.
- 14:24Okay, Brock Lee, as you go around back, you see a couple of figures in the alleyway leading to kind of around to the front side of the building.
- 14:34One of them is kind of this little hunched over, he's extra scrawny guy.
- 14:38His back, it looks like, kind of almost disturbingly crooked in a sense as he leans up against the wall, and he kind of looks over at you, and he's got a few rocks that he's just kind of floating around in his hand.
- 14:52And then the other one is a female figure in, like, a hood and kind of an almost cape like cloak, and she's holding sort of like the scepter looking thing, and they both look at you.
- 15:03And then the little guy, he says, the boss wants to speak to Mr.
- 15:08Okuran alone.
- 15:10I think you should come back later.
- 15:13I don't know if I can attack them, can I? In theory, you could.
- 15:17It doesn't matter whether you want to or not.
- 15:21Okay.
- 15:22Because that could spell worst things for Mr.
- 15:24Okuran.
- 15:25Right.
- 15:25Yeah.
- 15:26I will just well, see, that doesn't spell correctness to my character hug.
- 15:32Yeah.
- 15:33I will just ashamedly accept the feet and walk back into the tea shop.
- 15:38Okay.
- 15:39All right.
- 15:40Bill Door, what were you doing again? Hiding by the door.
- 15:44Oh, yeah, you cracked the door.
- 15:45Okay, so you successfully cracked the door open, but it's because you said you rolled a seven.
- 15:50Yeah.
- 15:51Okay, so that's a soft hit.
- 15:52So what it does is, it's going to cause you to scrape by, and it's going to cost you.
- 15:57So as you crack open the door, there's a large figure that seems to be standing in front of the door.
- 16:07He doesn't notice that you crack it so you can't see anything past him because he's this hulking figure.
- 16:12But you can hear.
- 16:14You are able to hear Meeka.
- 16:17Shoot.
- 16:17I'm going to have you role rely on your skills and training.
- 16:20So that's going to be focus because as a road you've dealt with situations where you've tried to listen into conversations from a distance and you're a little far away, but it's not impossible.
- 16:32You said passion, focus.
- 16:34Oh, what's the five? Okay, you cannot quite hear what they're saying from outside the window.
- 16:42Guo is just going to go bust a table that's closest to wherever they are.
- 16:50Okay.
- 16:52It's not dirty, just washing a table.
- 16:56There's people at it.
- 16:57You could go to the opposite window maybe and you're sitting there and busting the table.
- 17:04I'm going to also say rely on your skills and training.
- 17:06Go ahead and roll.
- 17:06That what status.
- 17:09Oh, that is focused.
- 17:10Sorry.
- 17:14Okay, so you are also able to just barely hear, but you're only able to make out a few words as they're talking because it's kind of muffled.
- 17:22So it's like listening to an adult on Charlie Brown with just a few words kind of thrown in.
- 17:29Money tomorrow.
- 17:34Okay, fine.
- 17:36This weekend, on the other hand, Bill Door.
- 17:40You are able to hear the situation, but you cannot see the figures.
- 17:43But you definitely know the voice of the rockabilly looking dude and of course Mr.
- 17:48Okuran.
- 17:48And you hear them talking and essentially what you hear is sorry.
- 17:54The guy says, you bought us the money for the whole month and you haven't paid up yet.
- 17:58And Mr.
- 17:59Okuran says I know.
- 18:00I'm so sorry.
- 18:01I had a big order come in for a customer who then ended up bailing on me.
- 18:06And so all the money is kind of wrapped up in assets in the fancy teas and things for this customer.
- 18:12And the guy says, well, that's not really my problem.
- 18:15I don't take tea and ingredients as payment, so you're going to have to come up with something else in order to pay us.
- 18:21And he's like, please, I need some more time.
- 18:23And he's like, you have until tomorrow.
- 18:26Please.
- 18:26That's not going to be enough time to get the money together.
- 18:29Okay, fine.
- 18:30I'll give you to this weekend and only because I like you.
- 18:35But if you don't pay me by then, that's going to change and I can't offer you protection anymore.
- 18:41Thank you for your kindness and your patience.
- 18:44I assure you I will do my best to get you your money by the end of this weekend.
- 18:48Yeah, you better.
- 18:50Because if you don't, I'm trashing the tea shop and take it whatever I want.
- 18:55Oh, please.
- 18:57We will have it ready.
- 19:00All right, let's see it happen.
- 19:02And he's like, all right, wild coyote, boars, let's roll out.
- 19:06And they all kind of like take off and build or as he says this, the large Hulking figure steps away from the door to follow them, and it's this massive, muscular individual with the body shape of what's? That Spiderman villain? He was in the multiverse one.
- 19:24Not the new one, but the big guy.
- 19:28Yeah, he wears a suit.
- 19:30He's bold.
- 19:31He's got kind of like a kingpin shaped body where he's just got this really massive doritoshaped figure.
- 19:40Yeah, like I said, as they walk away, you see the cheese.
- 19:46You see the aforementioned characters.
- 19:49Like I said, the big hulking dude.
- 19:50You see the Rockabilly guy who seems to be, like their leader.
- 19:54You see the scrawny guy with a weird arched back problem.
- 19:57And then you see the female with the hood and the scepter and stuff like that.
- 20:01And you see them all kind of walk away down the darkened streets of Gaoling.
- 20:05And Mr.
- 20:06Okuran makes his way back into the tea shop.
- 20:10And you quickly kind of close the door and get out of the way so that you're not obviously listening in.
- 20:15And he comes stepping inside.
- 20:18He looks very downtrodden.
- 20:20Yeah, that's what was going on out there.
- 20:23It's fine.
- 20:24It's nothing for the four of you to trouble yourselves over.
- 20:30But if it affects us and it affects the shop, then it kind of does affect everybody, doesn't it? Roll with plead is a harmony to convince him to share.
- 20:46Okay.
- 20:46He says, I appreciate the concern, but I assure you this problem is entirely on me, not on you guys.
- 20:57So he just needs something more to push him to share.
- 21:03I don't need to roll for that.
- 21:04No, you just kind of but we can help you with this situation.
- 21:09We can help you take care of those guys.
- 21:14I do need all the help I can get.
- 21:17You see, earlier this month, I had a customer call in a large order.
- 21:23Oh, wait.
- 21:24Maybe I should start with them.
- 21:26They're a group that offers protection services to a lot of the small businesses in the area.
- 21:35They came to me and insisted that I use their service for protection over the tea shop.
- 21:44And I gave in eventually, mostly because they said I had to.
- 21:51But it hasn't been a problem so far.
- 21:54I've always been able to make the payments and keep the shop safe.
- 21:58But this month, a customer called in a fairly large and expensive order.
- 22:02It was going to be a catering job for a very wealthy individual here in town and me loving tea as much as I do.
- 22:10I was very excited to take the order.
- 22:12But unfortunately, right after I purchased all the ingredients, which, again, were very expensive, they bailed on the order and canceled it.
- 22:23And now I'm stuck with all these incredibly expensive ingredients, no money, because I spent them on the ingredients and no order to fulfill them.
- 22:35And unfortunately, with these ingredients, there's no way that I could sell this tea to anybody.
- 22:40That's not in the upper ring, because, again, it's just incredibly expensive ingredients, and I would lose so much money on these, and I'm just really not sure what to do.
- 22:51And now the gang wants their money, and I don't have it.
- 22:55So if you don't pay, are they going to hurt you? I think they might.
- 23:00They said that they would trash the tea shop if I don't have it by the end of this weekend.
- 23:05How much money do they need? Well, they said that I had to pay them with interest.
- 23:131,000 Yuan.
- 23:17That's ridiculous.
- 23:19They can't treat us like this.
- 23:23They weren't even any help when that drunk guy was in here.
- 23:26What kind of protection is that? I think it's possible.
- 23:29It's maybe kind of a scam.
- 23:33You think? I think I'm paying them to protect me from themselves, but yeah, you should have seen that one coming.
- 23:42Oh, I knew it.
- 23:43I've always known it.
- 23:44But I'm a frail old man.
- 23:47I don't really have much ability to defend myself in the shop.
- 23:50And the guards don't do anything for the small businesses in the area unless you pay them, so it's kind of either way.
- 24:01Their intimidating presence whenever they do stop by usually discourages any no good.
- 24:06I mean, we've never been robbed before, and maybe they're the reason for that.
- 24:13You said there were four of them, right? Yes, I believe there's four in their group, yes.
- 24:18Do you know where they're at? I'm not sure, but I'm sure somebody in town does.
- 24:24What are you thinking, broccoli? Well, there's four of us, and there's more of that.
- 24:29Please, no, don't make violence the answer.
- 24:32I don't want to see any of you get hurt.
- 24:34You don't have to come and see it.
- 24:36But you all mean so much to me, and you've always been such great employees at the shop, and some of you I consider close friends, and I wouldn't want to see any of you injured on behalf of my problems.
- 24:50Who else in town do you know has protection from these guys? Oh, there are many businesses in the area that basically, if you're not a franchise or a chain or a fairly large business, you probably pay the Wild Coyote Boars to protect your place of business.
- 25:09Can we go talk to somebody at the shop owners? You do whatever you feel is necessary.
- 25:16I appreciate the help from all of you.
- 25:19Like I said, I feel terrible burdening you with my own problems, but if you guys have ideas or can you think of any way that maybe we could raise the money that we need in the short time that we have? I mean, I would truly appreciate that.
- 25:35Now, I was wondering what all those crates were back in the shed.
- 25:42Who was this? Who bailed on this order? Yes.
- 25:47So the family which ordered this originally was Shifu family.
- 25:52They said they had some sort of large party or something that they needed catering for, and that's why I agreed to it.
- 26:01They are a very wealthy family in the area, and normally they keep to their word.
- 26:05So I, to this day, have not been able to understand why they canceled the order.
- 26:11I don't know if they canceled the party altogether.
- 26:14There's not really anyone else in the area that can offer the catering that I feel like we are able to offer.
- 26:20Have you tried talking to them? Yes, I've tried, but it's incredibly difficult right now to get an audience with them.
- 26:27And I've made a request several times, and I keep getting denied.
- 26:32Rich people.
- 26:33Am I right? At least give you some sort of deposit? Unfortunately, no.
- 26:38And I understand it was my fault that I didn't take that.
- 26:41As I said, this Shifu family is usually very trustworthy, and you can always trust their word.
- 26:48But this is very unexpected, and I just wasn't sure what else to do.
- 26:53And that's part of the reason why I tried to contact them to see if maybe they would be interested in purchasing some of the ingredients for a future event or something along those lines.
- 27:02But again, they've denied me counsel or any other communication.
- 27:08I want to see counsel with them.
- 27:10Oh, well, if you think that you can get in front of them and speak to them, I would be very impressed.
- 27:18Yeah, give me contact information.
- 27:20Okay.
- 27:21I'll see what I can do.
- 27:23He starts writing some information down on a piece of the paper that you guys usually would use to take orders of who you need to talk to.
- 27:32So obviously they're probably going to have, like, a front desk person, and you talk to them and then they get you in touch with the heads of the family and things like that.
- 27:40Looks like we need to talk to a Jasmine.
- 27:43Wait, no.
- 27:43That's the worst.
- 27:48Again, I'm at a loss at this point.
- 27:51I don't know what else to do, and only about two and a half ish days.
- 27:56I just really can't see how we could possibly get all this money together.
- 28:01I mean, the business, the tea shop alone only brings in about 150 yuan a day.
- 28:07So after today, there's not too much to work with.
- 28:11And then I pay each of you the ten yuan, so that's going to pull from the profits as well.
- 28:16And it's hard to say what it is that I can really do, but if any ideas that you guys have, I am happy to work with, because like I said, I am completely at a loss at this point.
- 28:26So are we talking to the rich people? Brock we could talk to the other shops, but I don't know if we'd be able to get them to do anything in two days.
- 28:37Yes, true.
- 28:41Any of you guys heard of these Wild Coyote Boys before? I don't know.
- 28:47They have a sick name.
- 28:49Wild Coyote Boys.
- 28:50It would be better if it was Wild Coyote Boys.
- 28:53That's a cool name.
- 28:54I know.
- 28:55I'm adding a lot of value to this team.
- 28:56Chat, rather.
- 28:59I know.
- 29:00I'm a little tired, a little sleepy.
- 29:02I didn't drink any tea.
- 29:04We usually don't.
- 29:06Yeah, I had water.
- 29:09Well, we have the rich people's contact information.
- 29:12We can go and try and talk to them.
- 29:14Steal from them.
- 29:15I didn't say that.
- 29:18Mr.
- 29:19Okuran pretends not to have heard that.
- 29:22What's the rich people's name again? Zhang Fu Family.
- 29:30Do they have a vault or treasury of any kind of well, they are a very wealthy family, so I'm sure they definitely have, if not multiple, at least one place where they keep a large sum of money.
- 29:45Why do you ask? Bra, don't worry about it.
- 29:49It's probably underground.
- 29:50I said that I'm happy to work with your ideas, but I'm getting a little bit concerned.
- 29:55Well, what do you recommend? Well, if we could find a way to bring in a large amount of customers in the next couple of days, maybe we could make a nice sum that could, if not get us all the way there, at least get us a lot closer.
- 30:09Maybe set up some kind of an event to do some advertising.
- 30:14What if we made our own gala? Or party, maybe? I think that's a great idea.
- 30:24We could bring in the whole block.
- 30:28Block party.
- 30:29Block party.
- 30:30I've never heard of the concept before, but I like it.
- 30:34Well, I tell you what.
- 30:36We all sleep tonight, and whatever ideas maybe come to us in a dream or just maybe we sleep on, and in the morning we can get together and discuss a plan.
- 30:49How does that sound with everyone? That sounds swell to me.
- 30:55I mean, it doesn't really sound like they have time to sleep, but you do.
- 30:58You see this so key.
- 31:01Yeah.
- 31:02We're on a time crunch.
- 31:03We are on a time crunch.
- 31:05You're right.
- 31:05So tomorrow we will wake up bright and early, and we will get a start on this project.
- 31:12I'm going to assume that you guys had taken a rest.
- 31:15Oh, we did.
- 31:15Yeah.
- 31:16I assume you guys are all set up in the restaurant itself, given that Mr.
- 31:22Okuran is kind of taking you all in.
- 31:24I mean, unless somebody would say otherwise.
- 31:28I'm on the roof.
- 31:29Okay, so the restaurant I just wanted to be clear that I'm not with.
- 31:35Oh, okay.
- 31:36Well, you probably have a separate room.
- 31:38No, it's on the roof.
- 31:47Although that probably wouldn't clear as much exhaustion, if that's where you're comfortable.
- 31:51I guess that's not an issue.
- 31:53I can pitch a tent.
- 31:54It's fine on the roof.
- 31:56I grew up in the outdoors.
- 31:58On the roof, it just looks like one of those giant windows.
- 32:04Better than that.
- 32:05She is flat.
- 32:06She just freezes like a tent like structure on top of the roof, and then as it's melting, it drips on her.
- 32:13And that's what.
- 32:14Wakes her up in the morning.
- 32:15Yeah.
- 32:15It's like an alarm.
- 32:16Yeah, or you drown.
- 32:19I feel like it would change if there's a water bender.
- 32:21I can't drown.
- 32:22I don't think that's actually, hang on.
- 32:25I've only seen the movie.
- 32:29You told everybody that last time.
- 32:31Right.
- 32:31Not the true statement.
- 32:32That's a sad thing.
- 32:33It is.
- 32:35No, he's seen some of the series.
- 32:38No, just a movie.
- 32:39Okay, I want to be hated by this.
- 32:44You only watch episodes with us, like, two weeks ago.
- 32:48Yes, and I was confused by and made us rewind.
- 32:50I liked your character until you told me that you only watched the movie and now I hate you.
- 32:56That's why I baited my character off of the film.
- 32:59I'm going to throw everyone in Bill Door.
- 33:02Yeah.
- 33:03Actually, the brilliant writing that movie helped me inspire this character's name.
- 33:07All right.
- 33:07Do you all wake up the next morning and you've all had a restful sleep and you have all been thinking in the night, maybe have slightly less restful sleep because you've been trying to figure out a solution for Mr.
- 33:22Okuran problems? His dilemma? I don't know.
- 33:27What are you all thinking as you wake up and rub the sleep from your eyes and maybe grab a coffee? I feel like they'd probably serve coffee here.
- 33:36Caffeinated tea or caffeinated drink coffee.
- 33:39You drink coffee but you don't drink tea.
- 33:42Correct? Yeah, that's fair.
- 33:43His favorite tea is coffee.
- 33:45Black.
- 33:46You like bean juice over leaf juice.
- 33:48Black beans.
- 33:51Can just chew up the beans.
- 33:56You don't want no kidney beans.
- 33:58Black beans in hot water.
- 34:00Yeah, you can eat it and you can drink.
- 34:04You crunch it.
- 34:05So how are you guys feeling about this situation? Do we wake up and have a little meeting in the morning? Yeah, absolutely.
- 34:14Separate direction.
- 34:15No, I think that you all meet up in the morning.
- 34:18You all sit around with Mr.
- 34:20Okuran.
- 34:22I'd rather not meet with him.
- 34:23He is preparing things in the back for the restaurant.
- 34:27He has decided that he is going to handle the restaurant for the day on his own, probably for the weekend, because he knows you guys are going to do something, hopefully to help his situation and bring in some extra income.
- 34:42And so he's willing to kind of run things while you guys are out doing that.
- 34:46But the question is then is what is it that you guys are thinking about doing? If Mr.
- 34:52Okuran won't tell us where these hooligans or hoodlums are, maybe some of the other people who are paying them protection could tell us so we could go talk to other shop owners.
- 35:04Fair point.
- 35:05I don't hear any objections.
- 35:07I see head shaking, but I don't see I don't hear objections.
- 35:11I like this idea.
- 35:13You can't hear my head rattling? No.
- 35:16Meeka, since you look a little bit hesitant on this idea, what are you kind of thinking? What's your preferred path here? Something other than confronting the gang.
- 35:29We weren't confronting the gang.
- 35:31We're talking to people and I don't like to do.
- 35:33Got you.
- 35:34Okay.
- 35:34Do you want to help confront the gang? Yeah, we could do that to the rich people.
- 35:39Well, we can't confront them if we don't know where they are.
- 35:42We can ask around.
- 35:45Probably in that bar that I sent that man to last year.
- 35:48There's not even a bar there.
- 35:49Bar that made that.
- 35:52I do know the area.
- 35:53Meeka makes another good point, though, when she mentions that the rich people that bailed out of this deal with Mr.
- 36:00Okuran yeah, we can just shake them.
- 36:03She doesn't want to talk to regular people.
- 36:05Why did she want to go talk to rich people? Because they backed out on the deal.
- 36:09What are you going to do to them? I'm sure they have a lot of loose changes.
- 36:16Check their couch cushions.
- 36:18You can probably find all the money we need.
- 36:19I don't think they're going to let us go through their couch cushions.
- 36:23We'll tie them up, they back out of a deal.
- 36:29We'll show them exactly who they're dealing with.
- 36:31Both sides.
- 36:32You don't want to mess with either side.
- 36:34I think they've got more money to hire people to take care of us after that.
- 36:39That's I think we'd make bigger enemies.
- 36:43Well, then we make bigger enemies, but then we'd give the protection service a real reason to protect us.
- 36:49Or protect them.
- 36:51What about Guo Han? What's Guo Han kind of leaning towards? Well, go on.
- 36:58Thought we could do a wicked block party thing.
- 37:04Dope.
- 37:06But I have a feeling that some of these guys don't like that idea and take the more direct approach long term.
- 37:15Well, here's my problem, okay? These guys are bullies, okay? And if we just pay them off, they'll just keep on bullying Mr.
- 37:25Okuran, and he'll always be owing them.
- 37:28Right? So even if we can get the money back now, we're just going to own them more down the road, right? Who's to say my store doesn't lose more money on a future shipment? Right? So if we just go to these bullies and just beat them up and teach them a lesson not to mess with Mr.
- 37:43Okuran, he won't owe them any more money.
- 37:46Maybe we even have to make them pay protection.
- 37:48That's on the horrible plan.
- 37:50I think it's a great idea.
- 37:51I got one vote.
- 37:53Why would you beat them up when we literally have nothing? We know nothing about them.
- 37:56We don't know how many numbers there are.
- 37:58We don't know where they are.
- 37:59We don't literally know anything.
- 38:00So why don't we talk? Why don't we just pay them off and then we have more time to deal with them to figure out a better plan.
- 38:11Exactly.
- 38:11From the rich people you don't want to go beat up.
- 38:15You want to beat up innocent rich people who just happened to back out of a tea shop deal they didn't just happen to back out of it.
- 38:22No, they did, but that's still the risk.
- 38:24I'm not saying you have to beat them up.
- 38:25I'm just saying you just said shake them down for all their work doesn't mean you beat them.
- 38:39Mr.
- 38:40Okuran stops by to fill up.
- 38:41Everybody's tea.
- 38:46Great idea.
- 38:47And then he walks away.
- 38:51Can Bill Door and I go on our own adventure.
- 38:54No, we're going to need more people.
- 38:57I'm sure Guo Han wants help.
- 38:58Yeah, the Rooster Cat's got to stick together.
- 39:03Is that what we are? We the Rooster Castle? Oh, no, that's not good.
- 39:12The best I can come up with.
- 39:14I can't come up with anything better.
- 39:15So we got three in Turkey monkeys.
- 39:20No, I think your plans crap.
- 39:23What are you going to do, go off by yourself? I'm going to go find the rich people.
- 39:27This is not a good idea.
- 39:28It's a great idea.
- 39:29I think, actually, out of the three plans we came up with my position they're going to love me.
- 39:38The normal thing.
- 39:39No, I'm not afraid.
- 39:41Why talk to everybody when I could just go straight to the source? Doesn't sound like you want to talk to them, though.
- 39:47We'll see what happens.
- 39:48Okay.
- 39:48Geez.
- 39:50No, Bill's got a point, though.
- 39:51If we just pay them off now, either way, if we make money from a block party, or we go shake down those Richie Rich people, either way, it's just a short term solution.
- 40:08Yeah, but the short term solution will help us to have a better long term solution.
- 40:14But your short term solution has a worst long term solution, where we make enemies with Richard.
- 40:19I'm not saying we have to immediately make enemies with them.
- 40:22I'm just saying we ask questions and get out of there.
- 40:25You would create enemies out of people you rob? You just go clean their house and check their cushions.
- 40:31They won't know.
- 40:33Oh, okay.
- 40:34Wouldn't they have security if they're super rich and they're going to be watching the maid new maids? Yeah.
- 40:43No, they would.
- 40:45No.
- 40:46How would you know? No.
- 40:48Okay.
- 40:51No, that's a bad idea again, I'm going to double dip down on that.
- 40:55Bad idea.
- 40:57What if we combined both ideas? Oh, no.
- 41:03We got the block party together.
- 41:08Everybody's paying protection to those guys, and we rile them all up and we turn it into a rock party.
- 41:17And everybody gets stones and we stone them.
- 41:22The gang.
- 41:23What are they called again? The Wild Coyote Boars.
- 41:27Wild Coyote Boars.
- 41:30We run them out of town.
- 41:32Oh, okay.
- 41:33You just left it at that moment.
- 41:35And I said that sounds the most logical.
- 41:38Because if it's just the four of us against them, then our odds are better.
- 41:43If there's a mob with us, I still say we confront them, but maybe with more people.
- 41:49But then, on the other hand, that is putting other people at risk.
- 41:54So if the three of us are four just going and confronting them.
- 42:00Can we just throw Meeka in a sack and carry her with us? You can try.
- 42:07Can I try? I suppose you can.
- 42:10Where are you going to? I'm prepared for either scenario.
- 42:14And honestly, if she wants to split up, I'm prepared for that as well.
- 42:19Can I try to just throw her in a stack? She's like literally half my character's size, but I'm fast.
- 42:31Call someone out.
- 42:32Basically says when you openly call on someone to live up to their principal, shift your balance away from center, then name and role with their principal.
- 42:42On a hit, they are called to act as you say.
- 42:45They must either do it or mark a condition.
- 42:47On a Sunday night, they challenge your view of the world.
- 42:50In turn, you mark one fatigue or they shift your balance as they choose.
- 42:55On a miss, they can demand you act in accordance to one of your principles instead.
- 43:00Mark a condition or act as they request.
- 43:04So you would be calling her out.
- 43:07Meeka, what are your principles again? As a rogue? They're the two sides of your balance, friendship and survival.
- 43:15Okay, so in this case yeah, you could use those to and probably friendship.
- 43:21You could call her out to live up to her friendship kind of direction.
- 43:29You're not being very friendship right now.
- 43:31You got to live up to that friendship and then you roll for it.
- 43:37Okay.
- 43:38Minus one.
- 43:39So I need to roll at least an eight.
- 43:41Yeah.
- 43:42All right.
- 43:43Power of friendship.
- 43:45Five a five.
- 43:47All right, so you missed.
- 43:48So on the miss, Meeka gets to demand that you act in accordance with one of your principles instead.
- 43:53So you either mark a condition or act as they request.
- 43:56My principles.
- 43:57That's the main two.
- 43:58It's force and care.
- 44:00Well, he basically said I needed to be a friend, right, and join them in what they were doing.
- 44:06A friend wouldn't force somebody into a paper bag so that they could it's going to be unwillingly.
- 44:13Go on the mission she did not want to go on.
- 44:16Maybe throwing you in a burlap sack was not the best idea.
- 44:22It was the first that came to mind.
- 44:25Hey, that's where most of the ideas first that came to mind was throwing your friend into a bag.
- 44:30Yes.
- 44:35Be a bro.
- 44:36Come with us.
- 44:37I'm not a bro.
- 44:39You are an honorary bro.
- 44:41In your kingdom, we just call everybody bro.
- 44:43You didn't know this? No.
- 44:50Neither am I.
- 44:51Exactly.
- 44:51I am.
- 44:52That's why you got offended at me calling you bro.
- 44:55Skyler says everyone that all.
- 44:58The NPCs are going to have to start calling them bro ville.
- 45:02I hope so.
- 45:03That would be an interesting campaign.
- 45:05All earth kingdom people are just chill bros.
- 45:08I would love to have to be like this super chill translator, like shottedness sabre.
- 45:14So anyone else got an idea how we can convince me? She's standing right here, bro.
- 45:20Yup.
- 45:21Bro.
- 45:23You can just do your thing and I'll do my thing.
- 45:25Your thing is going to get you in a lot of trouble.
- 45:27So I'm trying to avoid your thing.
- 45:30I've got into trouble for and I've gotten out of it.
- 45:32Look it, I'm working on this shop.
- 45:34Okay, how about this? We make a deal, okay? If you can go to the rich people house and you can successfully not get caught feeling money, I want to talk to them before I try to steal from you.
- 45:48Okay, whatever.
- 45:48If your plan goes well and you somehow successfully do whatever your plan is, which is awful, but if you somehow do it, I will owe you.
- 45:58I'll do your dishes for a week.
- 46:00But if you fail, how can I stare into the abyss if you do my dishes? Fine.
- 46:07Whatever deal you want.
- 46:08That's related to the strap.
- 46:10I can't really give you much else.
- 46:12We all have to clean the bathrooms on the I have to do I'll give you all my money, but I honestly could give you all my money right now.
- 46:19I don't care about money much.
- 46:21But she said all my money.
- 46:22No, she said you had to clean the bathrooms on the rare occasions that she gets assigned.
- 46:28Oh, and your bathroom okay for a month.
- 46:30I was like four times.
- 46:31I can do that.
- 46:32No, because I don't always get asked to clean the bathrooms, me being a woman at all.
- 46:36Okay, the first three times you have to clean the bathroom, you always buy.
- 46:41I'll do.
- 46:41Four women.
- 46:42But if it fails and we have to end up bailing you out because you're a dummy, you'll have to do the bathroom duty for me and the other two for a full month because she's going to mess it up.
- 47:01Clearly.
- 47:03How is that fair? I tried to do three of your jobs to know how it's fair, because if you succeed, well, nothing happens.
- 47:11But if you fail, the three of us are going to have to bail you out.
- 47:16I didn't ask for you to protect me.
- 47:19What are you going to do, just sit in jail? I literally get out of trouble.
- 47:24Yeah, how many Robert people you'll stay in jail for a while.
- 47:30I've got an excuse.
- 47:31Prepped and right, too.
- 47:32She's crazy, my sister.
- 47:36She sometimes forgets who she is.
- 47:37Oh, we got to take you back to the morgue tomorrow.
- 47:45She has a shift tomorrow.
- 47:46She sometimes wanders away back to the asylum.
- 47:50That job actually would be a great job.
- 47:51Exactly.
- 47:52And that is why I've got this.
- 47:54We are learning so much about Makala tonight.
- 47:57No, I was talking about Meeka, not about me.
- 47:59Is it a deal or you're just going to come with us? I'm not coming with you.
- 48:03Sounds like a deal.
- 48:04Then she's going to go and try to break into the house of the rich people.
- 48:08I want to talk to the rich people.
- 48:10None of you listen to me, talk to the rich people, and the rest of you are going to go find a gang.
- 48:17Now.
- 48:17I'm going to watch this, actually.
- 48:25before we go any further with that, what explicitly is the deal? The deal is if she somehow manages to trick and dupe these rich people and gets into the house and is able to steal money from the cushions this is part two.
- 48:39If she does all of this, I'll do her bathroom job.
- 48:43What if she were to manipulate the money, bro? If she somehow anyway, also, she gets them to agree to give back.
- 48:52She said she wants to talk to them.
- 48:55If she succeeds in getting Mr.
- 48:57Okuran back his money, well, then I'll do the first four bathrooms.
- 49:01But if she fails and if she does, she'll probably get arrested.
- 49:05Yeah, we got to bail her out.
- 49:07And after we do that, she has to do all of our bathroom shifts for a month.
- 49:11Okay.
- 49:12All of our bathrooms? All of our bathroom shifts.
- 49:15And yourself, you still stuck with yours, too, so you're just bathroom duty for a month.
- 49:21Deal.
- 49:22All right.
- 49:22Do we want to spit on it? Sure.
- 49:25It's not water bender.
- 49:34I already know that sounded real gross in your headphones.
- 49:49All right, sounds good.
- 49:50So, you guys, how are you going to find out who the family was? Yeah, we still have to find out where the family lives.
- 50:02At the top of the hill.
- 50:04That's what he said.
- 50:05He's cleaning off some of the tables nearby.
- 50:09Hey, Mr.
- 50:10Okuran? Yes? Could you by chance tell me where those fancy rich people is? Which rich people? The ones who made a deal with you, and they're like, oh, we don't want your tea.
- 50:27Oh, yes, the Shifu family.
- 50:30But they said they were representing another family, but they were the direct contact, so I think they're the people to talk to, I suppose.
- 50:37Yeah.
- 50:37So where are they? They're on the kind of northwestern side of the city.
- 50:44Very nice house, can't miss it.
- 50:46They have Shifu written on a very ornate mailbox.
- 50:54Okay, I'm just going to let you know, take a break and go visit them.
- 51:00Well, you guys have the data, whatever you got to do, so all right, that's fine with me.
- 51:06Thanks, man.
- 51:07I mean, bro, we are in the earth, kingdom.
- 51:12I'm going to hang back, and as I leave, I'm going to say, hey, Mr.
- 51:16Okuran, can I get next month's bathroom schedule, like, a copy of it? Oh, I hadn't even written it up yet, but give me just a moment.
- 51:26And he clicks square balls some things down, and he kind of looks back at you like, scribbles.
- 51:32Scribbles some things down.
- 51:34He draws some square balls and he erases them really quickly, and he gets back to actually drawing up the schedule.
- 51:43He makes, like, a graph, and it's just could you space out the Meeka once away from mine.
- 51:48So they're just evenly spaced out.
- 51:50So it's not like if I had to do hers, they weren't back to back.
- 51:55Oh, well, I was just going to make Brock do it all this month.
- 52:05I'll have to do it eventually.
- 52:07It's still in the shop.
- 52:08Mr.
- 52:09Okuran does use it the most.
- 52:12Oh, that's true.
- 52:16Here you go.
- 52:17Everybody's got an equal number of bathroom shit except for Meeka.
- 52:22She always does the women's roof.
- 52:31I don't know how this deal is going to work.
- 52:34Anyway, I'm leaving Shook.
- 52:39All right, I'm grabbing the copy he made and I am leaving.
- 52:42I'm putting in my pocket and I'm heading out.
- 52:44All right? I got to follow Meeka.
- 52:46You can add one bathroom schedule to your inventory.
- 52:52All right, sounds good.
- 52:53So you guys step out the door.
- 52:55I'm assuming you guys are just going to head straight over to this house then? Yeah.
- 53:00Okay, sounds good.
- 53:01So you guys head northwest kind of just in that general direction.
- 53:05And sure enough, the houses start to get more can I just say how nobody wanted to come and now literally everybody is going? Well, no, there's a huge difference here.
- 53:14We're not going to help.
- 53:15We're going to see you fail.
- 53:16Either way, it doesn't matter.
- 53:18I got you guys to do what I wanted to do and you guys are poking around your idea.
- 53:24How about bros? Sounds like ask around and see where these pig boys or whatever they're called.
- 53:32Coyote.
- 53:33Coyote.
- 53:34Boars.
- 53:34Yeah, pig boys.
- 53:35Ask about the pig boys, see where they are.
- 53:38Like as you go.
- 53:39You're going to yeah, vendors or stuff.
- 53:42Okay.
- 53:43You pass by.
- 53:45There's a lettuce salesman.
- 53:48There's a squash salesman.
- 53:51There's a pumpkin salesman.
- 53:57There's a small seafood restaurant.
- 54:02He's a pumpkin guy.
- 54:08I feel like he's got the know.
- 54:10I'm going to go talk to the seafood guys, actually, just one at a time.
- 54:14That way, finding it in the first one, we're not going to waste time.
- 54:17Sounds good.
- 54:18I can talk to the pumpkin guy.
- 54:20Okay.
- 54:21So I go up.
- 54:22Is he from? The Earth Kingdom? Yeah.
- 54:24Exotic.
- 54:25You know where these Wild Coyote boards are? The Wild Coyote boys, a bunch of mischievous kids, always charge me money not to squish my pumpkins.
- 54:42Yeah, we're trying to find them so maybe they don't have to charge anybody anymore.
- 54:46You know where they are? I always see him going, which direction is it? Every time at the end of the night when I see him scamming up a bunch of people, I always see him heading southeast.
- 55:05Southeast.
- 55:06That's the polar opposite direction from where we are headed.
- 55:10Where are you headed? We are headed northwest for reasons that are not your business, Mr.
- 55:16Pumpkin man.
- 55:17You seem kind of rude for a guy that just asked me some questions.
- 55:20I apologize that talking to people is not my strong suit.
- 55:24Well, I tell you what.
- 55:25You asked me a question, and I give you an answer.
- 55:32Shifu family.
- 55:34You're here.
- 55:36I don't even want to know.
- 55:38But if I answered your question, I feel it's only fair for me to ask you one and you to give me a straight answer.
- 55:46That sounds fair.
- 55:49You want to buy some pumpkins? Sorry, we are not interested in buying some pumpkins right now.
- 55:57I knew you'd say that.
- 55:59Why doesn't anyone want pumpkins? And he wheels his cart away.
- 56:03Nice guy.
- 56:04Yeah, cool dude.
- 56:06I'd have a brewski with him every now and then.
- 56:09Pumpkin? You know this guy? No, but I would.
- 56:12Okay.
- 56:12I thought you said that you normally have brewski with them also.
- 56:15Aren't you too young to drink? Who said that? Basically, I'm drinking that stuff.
- 56:22I have a full beard.
- 56:24No one cards me.
- 56:25No one ever cards me.
- 56:27What are you talking about? I would have some brewskis with that guy.
- 56:30He seemed very nice.
- 56:32Even if I couldn't talk to him like a normal, rational human being.
- 56:35I'm sure after hours, he's pretty chill.
- 56:37Yeah.
- 56:38All right, so are we heading southeast while she's going north? No, that's all in our soul.
- 56:43Yeah, at least we know where they are.
- 56:47A whole region of the city.
- 56:50The whole area.
- 56:52Are you guys going to talk to anybody else on the way? Yeah, there was the lettuce guy.
- 56:56I want to go talk to sushi guy, whatever.
- 56:58Sure that sushi.
- 57:01Sushi would fall under that sushi.
- 57:04It's the seafood guy.
- 57:05Seafood guy? Yeah.
- 57:07Oh, guy.
- 57:09Shifu found him some sushi up and then flips it all up into the air, and it lands all decoratively onto this plate.
- 57:20Bill Door walks up to him.
- 57:22He straightens his desk, strains his tie, and he goes, hello, bro.
- 57:29Hey, what's up, bro? And he's, like, talking to you, and he looks completely unengaged because he's working on the sushi, but at the same time, his tone says that he's engaged.
- 57:40What do you need, bro? You want to buy some sushi? I got all kinds.
- 57:44Coyote bros, coyotes.
- 57:47Oh, the coyote wild boys, coyote pig boys, ugly coyotes, wild coyote boars.
- 57:55Yeah, the wild coyote boars.
- 57:57Yeah, I know these guys.
- 58:04Southeast.
- 58:05I know that.
- 58:06Are they in the dock district or something? I don't know.
- 58:11I mean, he comes in, he's always got toothpicks.
- 58:15They don't look like they've been manufactured.
- 58:18They just look like little splinters of wood or something.
- 58:22I don't know.
- 58:22He's always chewing on them, and then he sticks them into my sushi rolls and takes them, and I'm like, man, that was supposed to be customers order.
- 58:28And he's like, well, I'm a customer now or something.
- 58:31I don't know.
- 58:32He always says something really intense, or at least, like intense in tone, but it just didn't like I don't know.
- 58:37He has homemade toothpicks.
- 58:39Yeah, that's your lead, is homemade toothpicks? That's all I know.
- 58:43Right.
- 58:43Is there a wooded area southeast of here? Well, I mean, you start going well, no, south doesn't really quite the foggy swamp doesn't reach south.
- 58:54More north, but oh, there's the old lumber mill that's down there.
- 59:00It's all closed up.
- 59:04Yeah.
- 59:05If I was a gang, I guess I'd hang out there.
- 59:07That's a pretty solid spot.
- 59:09Well, you have done us a great service today.
- 59:13Really? I haven't even made you any sushi, bro.
- 59:16No, you've gifted us with information.
- 59:20That's what matters.
- 59:21And some vibes.
- 59:23Does a person get a tip for info and vibes? I've got one copper for you.
- 59:28Really? I'm not going to say no.
- 59:32Thank you, vibes.
- 59:33Yoshi, man.
- 59:34Yeah? How did you know my name was Vibes? I just got that vibe from you.
- 59:38Bros.
- 59:43So I got to slide the copper on the counter and just, like, leave.
- 59:47While they're doing that, he slips one of his sushi chopping knives into the air, and he pockets the copper, and then he catches the knife.
- 59:55Right on bro.
- 59:56Well, let's get it.
- 59:59It's really great to meet all of you.
- 1:00:01I didn't stop to talk to him.
- 1:00:02I'm just keeping walking.
- 1:00:04Oh, well, he assumed that you were probably with them.
- 1:00:07He glanced out of the corner of his eyes as you guys were approaching and saw them talking to you.
- 1:00:13How much for squid? How do you want it, roasted or live? Man, I bought them for two copper.
- 1:00:26If you just want one, I can just sell it too.
- 1:00:30Okay, good deal.
- 1:00:32All right.
- 1:00:34Do you want it in something or yeah, it's got, like, a bag, a basket, I don't know.
- 1:00:42Keeping live squid.
- 1:00:45Well, he's got, like, this little aquarium looking you know, it's more of a stone, so you have to look down to see the fish and stuff that are inside.
- 1:00:56But there's some squids.
- 1:00:57He's got, like, multiple, because obviously he works with fish, so he's got different ones for different types of fish, so they don't attack each other, eat each other.
- 1:01:04You wouldn't put a bunch of beta fish together.
- 1:01:06So he's got one that's just got squids in it.
- 1:01:09So he flips the knife up in the air, but this time it sticks in the ceiling directly above him.
- 1:01:15And then he reaches over, and he grabs, like, a pair of tongs, and he scoops one out, and he kind of just, like, looks around, and then he stomps on the ground, and he makes, like, a pattern with his foot.
- 1:01:28And then he stomps again in a sort of box shaped chunk of stone comes out, and he, like, scoops up some water.
- 1:01:34He slaps the squid into it, and then he hands it to you, and he's like, you're an Earthbender, right? I mean, if you want to put a lid on this, go for it.
- 1:01:43I don't know if you wanted to open or close.
- 1:01:46I've never had someone ask for a live squid before.
- 1:01:49They can take care of it.
- 1:01:50Usually they go to the market.
- 1:01:52Well, we were in the neighborhood.
- 1:01:54No, I mean, that's totally fair.
- 1:01:55I doubt I'm going to sell all these today and sometimes they don't make it to the next day.
- 1:02:00So it seems like a good insurance to making a sale or making some of my money back.
- 1:02:06So then he tosses the tongs back down, he reaches up, he grabs his knife and goes back to chopping up some sushi.
- 1:02:16I'm going to do a little earth bending to close up that box.
- 1:02:22All right, so you have a cube of square.
- 1:02:29Awesome.
- 1:02:29I'm excited to see where that goes.
- 1:02:31Build or looks down.
- 1:02:32I think it was done.
- 1:02:33Don't you need to put like air holes in there or something? Then the water will leak out.
- 1:02:41Well, when they die, if you can't breathe air, purchase.
- 1:02:46Squid don't need air.
- 1:02:48They don't? No.
- 1:02:54I don't know what a squid is.
- 1:02:58squid bro.
- 1:03:00I don't even know, bro.
- 1:03:03I never thought about squids as being living things before until they're dead and I can't serve them in a squid roll.
- 1:03:16You serve live squid in a squid roll? Well, it's usually live when I kill it locks it raw and wriggling.
- 1:03:29Okay, well, thank you.
- 1:03:33I follow Bill Door out the door.
- 1:03:35There you go.
- 1:03:36Meeka is already like three blocks ahead of you guys.
