- 0:03Speaker 1: If I passed the hour. It's the second hour here
- 0:06Speaker 1: Friday in the Morning Show with Preston Scott. Great to
- 0:08Speaker 1: be with you. He is Jose, I am Preston. It
- 0:10Speaker 1: is show fifty three forty six, and once a month
- 0:13Speaker 1: he is kind enough to make time for us. And
- 0:16Speaker 1: he is Lee Williams, the gun Writer and the website
- 0:20Speaker 1: Thegunwriter dot substack dot com. Lee. How in the world
- 0:23Speaker 1: are you, sir?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Busy brother? How are you?
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm doing well? I would just before we talk about
- 0:30Speaker 1: all the things that they are to talk about, and
- 0:31Speaker 1: there are a bunch of them. How do you kind
- 0:34Speaker 1: of prioritize where you focus your attention as well as
- 0:38Speaker 1: the attention of you know, gun owners of America and
- 0:41Speaker 1: all that.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Well, I try and come up with my own stories.
- 0:46Speaker 2: I try and break my stories, and brother, they come
- 0:50Speaker 2: to me. I mean, we have a lot of people
- 0:52Speaker 2: still in a lot of bad situations that need help.
- 0:57Speaker 2: They just want want some help. So try our best
- 1:00Speaker 2: and that's what happens.
- 1:02Speaker 1: What's the latest on Patrick tad adamiak.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Well. I wrote a story a couple of days ago,
- 1:11Speaker 2: March eighteenth, calling on President Trump to pardon him. The
- 1:16Speaker 2: guy was going to be a Navy Seal officer, had
- 1:20Speaker 2: been accepted by the Navy Seals. He was jailed for
- 1:25Speaker 2: no reason other than the ATF screwed up. They got
- 1:28Speaker 2: some bad information from a source. They kicked down Patrick's door,
- 1:31Speaker 2: pointed guns at him. He's a twenty eight year old
- 1:33Speaker 2: East six in the Navy, went through his house, went
- 1:37Speaker 2: through a safe. Couldn't find anything illegal because Patrick was very,
- 1:40Speaker 2: very careful. He had a very good part time business
- 1:45Speaker 2: going lot of sales. A lot of military will have
- 1:48Speaker 2: a part time job, and this was his. He collected
- 1:50Speaker 2: firearms and firearm parts. Every single thing they found was
- 1:55Speaker 2: perfectly legal. Every single thing they found was perfectly great.
- 2:00Speaker 2: But you know, then they enter in Jeffrey Bodell, who
- 2:04Speaker 2: is ATFS, who is ATS Firearms enforcement officer. He takes
- 2:08Speaker 2: a toy Steen gun. You can order it in the mail.
- 2:11Speaker 2: They'll send it to your house, and he inserts a
- 2:13Speaker 2: real Steen barrel and a real Stem magazine and a
- 2:17Speaker 2: real Steen submachine gun action and gets it the fire
- 2:20Speaker 2: one round, said it's a machine gun. He test fired
- 2:23Speaker 2: five of Patrick's guns, his handguns, said that they were
- 2:27Speaker 2: semi autos, but they were full automatic. I mean it
- 2:30Speaker 2: goes on and on and on. So I mean, Patrick's
- 2:34Speaker 2: on his second of twenty years in state prison, in
- 2:38Speaker 2: a prison in a federal prison in New Jersey. So
- 2:41Speaker 2: unless unless President Trump does something, he's going to spend
- 2:46Speaker 2: he's going to get out of jail in eighteen more years.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And this kid is so committed. All he wants to
- 2:51Speaker 2: do is get out, go back into the Navy and
- 2:54Speaker 2: be a seal.
- 2:56Speaker 1: What's the legal side of this from his defense team
- 3:00Speaker 1: or those stepping up trying to help.
- 3:04Speaker 2: There are some legal moves that the defense is trying
- 3:09Speaker 2: to do. However, they're at the appellate level. They're based
- 3:12Speaker 2: on some Supreme Court decisions. They may or may not happen. Brother,
- 3:18Speaker 2: nothing's guaranteed. Sure a presidential pardon, he'd be out of
- 3:21Speaker 2: jail tomorrow.
- 3:24Speaker 1: A pardon, does that erase it from his record?
- 3:28Speaker 2: It could, Yeah, it certainly could, and he would be
- 3:32Speaker 2: free to do whatever he wants to do. He is
- 3:34Speaker 2: forgiven for whatever he screwed up, even though in this
- 3:37Speaker 2: case he clearly didn't screw anything up.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Now, you mentioned just a few minutes ago and in
- 3:45Speaker 1: your story the guy with ATF that really maybe committed
- 3:53Speaker 1: some crimes in and of himself, Jeffrey Bodell. How is
- 3:58Speaker 1: he still with it or is he just one of
- 4:00Speaker 1: those guys that you know, Cash Betel's going to get
- 4:02Speaker 1: to him. When he gets to him.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I think Cash doesn't know his name. Cash is God God.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I mean, he has so much on his plate. I
- 4:10Speaker 2: hope his people look into Firearms Enforcement Officer Jeffrey Brodell
- 4:16Speaker 2: because he perjured himself. He performed actions meant to buttress
- 4:22Speaker 2: ATFS horrible search warrant that never should have happened to
- 4:26Speaker 2: this guy. This guy's doing twenty years because of pats
- 4:29Speaker 2: are because of jeff Bodell, and that should never have happened.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Lee, I came across a story back March thirteenth, and
- 4:37Speaker 1: it was on town Hall and it said, the ATF
- 4:41Speaker 1: doesn't want you to know about its gun surveillance program.
- 4:44Speaker 1: These orgs are fighting back and an organization you are
- 4:48Speaker 1: part of is one of those. Tell us about that.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Well, ATF has so many tricks up their sleeve. They
- 4:56Speaker 2: have software, they have individual I don't know of any
- 5:02Speaker 2: government organization that takes themselves so seriously on what they do. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 2: ATF is spying. ATF has accumulated millions and millions and
- 5:14Speaker 2: millions of the names of people who had legally purchased guns,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and they have them in a file and they're not
- 5:22Speaker 2: supposed to by via federal law. I mean, it's which avenue,
- 5:27Speaker 2: don't do you want to talk about what they're doing wrong.
- 5:29Speaker 2: It's it's insane, and no one's tell them accountable because
- 5:33Speaker 2: Joe Biden has used them as his personal personal bully
- 5:38Speaker 2: boys to keep us all in check. Now all that's changing,
- 5:43Speaker 2: thank goodness. But it's just a matter of what comes
- 5:46Speaker 2: out first. I know, Biden's staff is incredible. I'm sorry.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Trump's staff is incredibly busy right now. But at some
- 5:53Speaker 2: point ATF has to be put on top shelf and
- 5:58Speaker 2: they have to be uh drilled down on.
- 6:02Speaker 1: There. There's an inside this story. It says that that
- 6:05Speaker 1: your organization put a freedom of information request out four
- 6:10Speaker 1: years ago.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean, and that's a that's typically ATF.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I've got a freedom of information acts that they'll probably
- 6:22Speaker 2: you know, be handled now during Trump. But man, I mean,
- 6:26Speaker 2: you talked three or four years old. That's nothing for ATF.
- 6:29Speaker 2: They ignore it. They ignore them. I've never seen a
- 6:34Speaker 2: federal agency that operates like them. Before ever even FBI.
- 6:38Speaker 2: They'll turn over documents that make themselves look bad. ATF won't.
- 6:43Speaker 1: What's interesting to me about this is that it's not
- 6:46Speaker 1: just the ATF. In this particular case, a court has
- 6:50Speaker 1: has sided with them and putting a gag order on
- 6:55Speaker 1: the the things that that you all want people to
- 6:58Speaker 1: know under. What was the justification for the gag order?
- 7:04Speaker 2: I have no idea. There are so many of these
- 7:06Speaker 2: things now that are out there, and for me to
- 7:09Speaker 2: keep track of all of them would be a full
- 7:13Speaker 2: time job. Seriously, because we you know, the federal government
- 7:18Speaker 2: is supposed to cooperate with anyone who files a FOIA request.
- 7:23Speaker 2: ATF does not.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Before we get to your most recent story in the
- 7:28Speaker 1: next segment, I want to just get your thoughts on
- 7:31Speaker 1: the ruling that came down. We talked about it the
- 7:34Speaker 1: other day, the ghost gun ruling by the Supreme Court.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I was surprised at the seven to two ruling.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I was blown away. I think there's nothing wrong
- 7:45Speaker 2: with a gun without a serial number in Florida. Here,
- 7:49Speaker 2: I have several ghost guns or guns without serial numbers
- 7:53Speaker 2: that were mailed to me by the manufacturers, and I
- 7:55Speaker 2: put them together. I had a great time doing each
- 7:57Speaker 2: of them. Both of them are our block typed handgun.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I don't see why the Supreme Court came down the
- 8:03Speaker 2: way they did, other than they need to be educated more.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I mean, you put the finishing touches on these firearms.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I don't like the term ghost guns. It's just you know,
- 8:13Speaker 2: before the sixties, firearms didn't have serial numbers. Anyway, I
- 8:19Speaker 2: don't see any big deal about it.
- 8:22Speaker 1: So is there any chance, I mean, how does this
- 8:25Speaker 1: issue find its way back since they've allegedly settled it.
- 8:29Speaker 2: We're going to need a law. We will need a
- 8:31Speaker 2: federal law that changes this because this is wrong. Man.
- 8:40Speaker 1: He's the gun writer. The gun writer dot substack dot
- 8:44Speaker 1: com is the website the latest story from Lee Williams. Lee.
- 8:47Speaker 1: What fascinated me not just the story obviously, as always
- 8:52Speaker 1: brilliantly written, it's where it happens. This is in Massachusetts. Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 1: tell us the story.
- 9:02Speaker 2: A small gun club located about fifty miles northwest of Boston.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And it's small. It's the Fort Devns Rifle and Pistol Club, Inc.
- 9:11Speaker 2: They you know, most of the guys are veterans. They
- 9:15Speaker 2: were going out to the Fort. They were shooting using
- 9:18Speaker 2: the ranges for free. I mean, these guys brought their
- 9:20Speaker 2: own range safety officers. They have targets, AMMO, they police
- 9:25Speaker 2: their own brass. These guys were nobody's problem, whatsoever. Well,
- 9:29Speaker 2: Joe Biden gets elected and in twenty twenty his administration
- 9:33Speaker 2: tells the club, oh yeah, now you got it. You're
- 9:35Speaker 2: gonna pay two hundred and fifty dollars per range. If
- 9:38Speaker 2: you want two ranges, that'll be five hundred three range
- 9:40Speaker 2: would be seven to fifty, and the fees would increase
- 9:42Speaker 2: based upon the number the total number of shooters. Well,
- 9:46Speaker 2: that hit the gun club hard because they're a small,
- 9:49Speaker 2: small group, so I mean half of them seem to
- 9:52Speaker 2: be lawyers. They filed suit in twenty twenty two, claiming
- 9:57Speaker 2: that the Ford officials were charging range fees in biol
- 10:00Speaker 2: the federal law. And by the way, it does violate
- 10:02Speaker 2: federal law. According to the club treasurer Jim Gettens, as
- 10:09Speaker 2: he put it on Monday, when I wrote the story,
- 10:11Speaker 2: it's a David versus Goliath event. I mean, the range
- 10:16Speaker 2: went through several officers. Everybody lied they were running an
- 10:22Speaker 2: illegal profit curing racket. Getting said. The funny thing is
- 10:28Speaker 2: and the funnies in finger quotes is they're still charging.
- 10:32Speaker 2: They have a lot of non d D law enforcement
- 10:34Speaker 2: that comes out there, state police, municipal police, some federal guys, ICE, FBI,
- 10:39Speaker 2: US Customs. They're still paying for their range opportunity even
- 10:46Speaker 2: though they shouldn't be. Yet. The Civilian Club, because they sued,
- 10:52Speaker 2: does not have to. I tried to get the US
- 10:55Speaker 2: attorney who was involved in the case, Julian and Kansa
- 10:59Speaker 2: nor but he wouldn't call me back. I dealt with
- 11:03Speaker 2: one of his people there at the US Attorney's office
- 11:07Speaker 2: for an entire day trying to get somebody to comment
- 11:09Speaker 2: on it. Of course nobody would. Nobody has to, but
- 11:14Speaker 2: and it really made me upset. However, the club is
- 11:17Speaker 2: back in, and I mean these guys aren't even going
- 11:21Speaker 2: out on the weekends because after nine to eleven they said,
- 11:23Speaker 2: oh yeah, no more civilians on weekends because that's when
- 11:25Speaker 2: we're usually busy, even though if you drive out there,
- 11:28Speaker 2: the ranges are not that busy. But they won. The
- 11:33Speaker 2: judge kicked it back. They're out there during the week
- 11:36Speaker 2: holding their small events and they're all smiling. Man.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It just makes you think about the number of times
- 11:44Speaker 1: that no one has the resources or they just don't
- 11:49Speaker 1: find the energy to fight the government on crap like this.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Right, that is the takeaway, That is the supreme lesson
- 11:57Speaker 2: here is if your rights are being violated, you need
- 12:01Speaker 2: to take action. I don't care who's president, because obviously
- 12:06Speaker 2: this occurred during Biden. But these things take a while,
- 12:09Speaker 2: and they take a while to be resolved. And it
- 12:13Speaker 2: was resolved, and everything's good now out there, and I
- 12:16Speaker 2: could not be happy. I'm going to go out and
- 12:17Speaker 2: shoot there, hopefully in the near future, because these guys
- 12:22Speaker 2: are pros and and they handled it right. Rather than
- 12:26Speaker 2: you know, just griping and complaining, they took some action
- 12:30Speaker 2: and that's exactly what they needed legally. He is also
- 12:34Speaker 2: pretty good attorneys.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Tell me this, Lee, what what is your appraisal? What
- 12:38Speaker 1: are your hopes with cash Paatel and Pam BONDI now
- 12:42Speaker 1: over this this arena in general.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Well, it's difficult to understand how busy mister Patel is.
- 12:49Speaker 2: But I want to see I want to see him
- 12:52Speaker 2: destroy ATF. I've written over two hundred stories on ATF
- 12:57Speaker 2: over my twelve years doing this, and it is a
- 13:00Speaker 2: criminal organization masquerading as a federal law enforcement agency. It
- 13:04Speaker 2: needs to go and he needs to take care of it.
- 13:08Speaker 2: That right, there would be a lasting value that would
- 13:14Speaker 2: be incredible, and that needs to happen soon because you
- 13:19Speaker 2: look at what they're doing. You look at the doors
- 13:22Speaker 2: they're kicking for no reason, and the people that are
- 13:24Speaker 2: getting shocked and killed right because they think they're burglars
- 13:28Speaker 2: coming into their house at five am instead of ATF
- 13:30Speaker 2: agents who cut the power before they go in. I
- 13:34Speaker 2: mean ATF needs to go.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Does it take an act? Does it take an Act
- 13:39Speaker 1: of Congress to get rid of it?
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yes, it will. I don't care. It's worth it. They
- 13:45Speaker 2: need to go. They are not doing law enforcement at ATF.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Fair enough, Lee, thank you for all the work you're doing.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Look forward to the next set of articles
- 13:55Speaker 1: and we'll talk again next month.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Tom's great. Thank you, Take care, Thank.
- 13:59Speaker 1: You, sir. Lee Willilliams The gun Writer dot substack dot com.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That's where you go subscribe get the work of Lee Williams.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Our guest here in the Morning Show with Preston Scott
