- 0:17Speaker 1: Good morning. Thank you for joining us today here on
- 0:20Speaker 1: our Wednesday edition of Morning Moments with Jesus. Here on
- 0:23Speaker 1: our podcast as we get ready for this morning's devotion.
- 0:27Speaker 1: The Lord just came to me with a simple word
- 0:29Speaker 1: to give you this morning. And that is to just
- 0:31Speaker 1: enjoy your life. Enjoy the life. God has given you.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Just a very simple statement, but sometimes it sure is
- 0:40Speaker 1: hard to really embrace that, isn't it? This morning I
- 0:44Speaker 1: just want you to relax and I just want you
- 0:46Speaker 1: to begin to enjoy all the many blessings that God
- 0:50Speaker 1: has given you in your life. You know, here on
- 0:52Speaker 1: our podcast from day one, we've kind of claimed Psalm
- 0:56Speaker 1: 118 and verse number 24 as our ministry verse as
- 1:01Speaker 1: it pertains to this podcast. And it basically says this
- 1:05Speaker 1: is the day. Which the Lord hath made. We will rejoice.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And be glad in it. And I love that verse because.
- 1:15Speaker 1: To me it's the power of a made up mind.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Somebody who is already determined. Before the day even gets started.
- 1:22Speaker 1: That it's going to be a great day. Why? First
- 1:27Speaker 1: of all because the Lord made this day. And he's
- 1:30Speaker 1: never made a bad day. When we can. make choices
- 1:35Speaker 1: and decisions sometimes that kind of turn it into bad
- 1:37Speaker 1: for us but the Lord never made a bad day
- 1:42Speaker 1: all his days are for our good and then it
- 1:45Speaker 1: says we will rejoice in other words I don't know
- 1:49Speaker 1: what's coming but I've already made my mind I'm going
- 1:52Speaker 1: to rejoice and I'm going to be glad in the
- 1:54Speaker 1: fact that God made this day for me he made
- 1:57Speaker 1: it for me to enjoy not to fret not to
- 2:00Speaker 1: worry Not to be bombarded by circumstances I can't control.
- 2:05Speaker 1: He gave it to me. As a gift. To enjoy.
- 2:11Speaker 1: You're allowed to enjoy this day. That God has already
- 2:15Speaker 1: given you. And I want to tell you this morning.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Not every morning has to begin with a problem to solve.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Not every morning has to begin with a burden to
- 2:25Speaker 1: surrender to the Lord. Or a lesson that has to
- 2:28Speaker 1: be learned. And I'm here to tell you this morning just.
- 2:31Speaker 1: kind of based on what the Lord's been telling me,
- 2:33Speaker 1: not every moment must carry some deep meaning or lead
- 2:37Speaker 1: to a major decision. I wrestle with that because my
- 2:40Speaker 1: mind is always geared towards the next devotion or the
- 2:43Speaker 1: next message the Lord wants me to speak. So I'm
- 2:47Speaker 1: constantly looking at nature and other things that are going
- 2:50Speaker 1: on and diving into the Word of God, trying to say, okay, Lord,
- 2:54Speaker 1: what's next? What's next? And I get excited about what's next.
- 2:58Speaker 1: But the Lord reminds me and Now today, this morning,
- 3:02Speaker 1: he's reminding all of us that there's nothing wrong with
- 3:06Speaker 1: looking for the next thing. But don't miss today. Don't
- 3:12Speaker 1: miss what the Lord is doing right now. Sometimes the
- 3:15Speaker 1: most spiritual thing you can do is simply receive the
- 3:20Speaker 1: day that God has placed before you and be grateful
- 3:23Speaker 1: for it. So this morning, enjoy your cup of coffee.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Laugh with your spouse and with your children. Notice the sunrise.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Listen to the birds. Listen to those little voices this
- 3:35Speaker 1: morning that are trying to eagerly tell you something and
- 3:38Speaker 1: give them your undivided attention for that moment. Appreciate something
- 3:44Speaker 1: beautiful without feeling as though you must turn it into
- 3:47Speaker 1: some kind of special assignment today. Hope this is getting
- 3:51Speaker 1: to you this morning because this really hit me pretty
- 3:53Speaker 1: hard as I really began to kind of dig into this.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And look at what Psalm 118 really meant. We can
- 4:01Speaker 1: become so focused on where we are going that we
- 4:06Speaker 1: forget to appreciate where we are at the moment. We
- 4:10Speaker 1: pray about what God will do next while overlooking what
- 4:14Speaker 1: He's doing right now and what He's already done in
- 4:16Speaker 1: our lives. Oh yeah, sometimes we wait for the next
- 4:20Speaker 1: door to open, the next prayer to be answered, the
- 4:22Speaker 1: next season to begin. While the goodness of God is
- 4:25Speaker 1: sitting right here in front of us this morning. Psalm 118.24
- 4:31Speaker 1: does not say this is the day the Lord has made.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We must figure everything else out ourselves. It says we
- 4:38Speaker 1: will rejoice and be glad in it. Now being glad
- 4:43Speaker 1: is a choice. It is a decision to recognize that
- 4:48Speaker 1: this ordinary day is still a gift from God. It
- 4:51Speaker 1: may not bring some great breakthrough to date. Or some
- 4:55Speaker 1: unforgettable experience. Sometimes there's just beauty in the ordinary. May
- 5:01Speaker 1: simply be filled with a familiar face. Quiet moments. Everyday responsibilities.
- 5:06Speaker 1: And those small little blessings that will never come again.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Like they're going to come today. But that does not
- 5:13Speaker 1: make it any less precious. To us or to God.
- 5:18Speaker 1: So today. Today. Today does not have to be profound
- 5:23Speaker 1: to be meaningful to you. You do not have to
- 5:26Speaker 1: improve everything, understand everything, or accomplish everything. What the Lord
- 5:30Speaker 1: wants you to do this morning is just take a
- 5:33Speaker 1: deep breath and say, Thank you, Lord, for the gift
- 5:38Speaker 1: of another day. Receive this day without pressure. Enjoy the
- 5:43Speaker 1: life that God has given you. And take a deep breath,
- 5:47Speaker 1: and as you look around, I want you to just
- 5:50Speaker 1: Enjoy this moment right now that you're in. Sometimes gratitude
- 5:54Speaker 1: is the only assignment we have for today. There is
- 6:00Speaker 1: nothing wrong with looking forward. I'm not saying that. I
- 6:03Speaker 1: do it all the time, constantly almost. There's nothing wrong
- 6:07Speaker 1: with looking forward to what God is going to do next.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Faith gives us hope for tomorrow. We should embrace that.
- 6:14Speaker 1: But do not become so focused on the future. That
- 6:19Speaker 1: you miss the goodness he has placed right in front
- 6:22Speaker 1: of you this morning. So today. I guess my final
- 6:26Speaker 1: thought is don't become. So focused on what God may
- 6:30Speaker 1: do that. You overlook the beauty of what really is
- 6:34Speaker 1: at this moment. Today you be safe. You be strong
- 6:39Speaker 1: and you be blessed. But I also want you to
- 6:42Speaker 1: be aware. That there may not be a tomorrow. Yesterday. Today.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It's over. But you've got this morning. You've got today. Rejoice.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And be glad in it. Because I have learned in
- 7:00Speaker 1: my life. And I'm sure you have too. That there's
- 7:03Speaker 1: two ways to face the day. Worried about what might happen.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Or rejoicing the fact that no matter what happens. God
- 7:13Speaker 1: is still in control. Lord we will see you back
- 7:17Speaker 1: here again tomorrow. And until then, I hope you have
- 7:21Speaker 1: a great day.
