- 1:28podcast, enjoy hail to you all. All right, everybody.
- 1:36Hail and welcome back to this week's podcast and even
- 1:40ramblings. Coming back at you, across all
- 1:42of the podcast, Airwaves or digital Airwaves or whatever, we
- 1:46refer to these things of Wizardry nowadays.
- 1:51So hello and welcome back. Great to have you back here.
- 1:54Thank you so much for your ongoing constant support to
- 1:57always greatly appreciated and exciting.
- 2:00So yes, we have a guest lined up for this week's podcast.
- 2:05He's a The gentleman who I've been online friends with we've
- 2:08not actually met in person, but he is, as he refers to himself a
- 2:15contemporary Vicki. So we're going to be bringing
- 2:20him in here in just a moment and talking about Vicky related
- 2:24things. Now for those that maybe, you
- 2:28know, new to this whole thing, this is a heathen podcast of
- 2:32random Nature's, right? We get off on to some pretty
- 2:36Random things sometimes. It's not always, you know
- 2:39focused on a very specific topic but sometimes we just divide
- 2:43ourselves Landing down, different rabbit holes and so on
- 2:46and so forth. And so the term Vicky for those
- 2:50that maybe don't know, are the I guess you might say it's a word
- 2:56that would probably best be used to describe the mail.
- 3:00Witches or the mate, like you have like in the Norse serous
- 3:09were or what are called vulva, who practice say either the some
- 3:15we're going to be talking about all those types of things today.
- 3:17And so the vit ski is a term that's used to describe the the
- 3:22male equivalent of that since what is usually always going to
- 3:28be a female. Person.
- 3:33So Vicki is a term that's used to usually describe the male
- 3:37version of the Volga. So they are quite often times
- 3:42associated with Rune magic or runic divination, you know.
- 3:48So the thing that we're going to be talking about today is all
- 3:52kinds of things related to that. So you know, say their work Rune
- 3:59casting Arun. Nation.
- 4:02And so he also actually has a book or excuse me two books that
- 4:06he's going to be talking about and I'm not going to reveal too
- 4:09much about that right now. But that's what we have lined up
- 4:12for in this week's episode. So I hope you guys stick around
- 4:16all the way through and see what we can learn from them.
- 4:18I'll be welcoming in here in just a moment.
- 4:22But before we step into them, before we go down that path, I
- 4:25do want to just get, you know, the normal housekeeping stuff
- 4:28out of the way which is pretty much always covered.
- 4:30Right in the intro. But again, check the description
- 4:33or show notes of this podcast for all the ways that you can
- 4:35keep up with and track what I do here on this podcast and on the
- 4:38channel as well on YouTube because I do upload YouTube
- 4:42shorts where I'm, you know, doing my Riverwalk sore drumming
- 4:47or any other sort of things like that, that I think you guys
- 4:49would like. So, please be sure to subscribe
- 4:51to the YouTube channel and follow along with what I do
- 4:53there, and then there is an open campaign.
- 4:57Right now, I mentioned in a video not too long ago.
- 5:00Ago, I'll probably annotate it up here.
- 5:04You know, on the YouTube Premiere will be like a car
- 5:07that's annotated and then for you all you podcast listeners it
- 5:10will be in the show notes talking about some help that
- 5:14we're trying to provide the communities trying to provide
- 5:18for my brother. Who is my go the dingo and
- 5:24whether or not he sees these videos at this point is I don't
- 5:27care because I want them to know that.
- 5:30Is a community that wants to see him succeed in that, we want to
- 5:33help a bit. So right now at least at the
- 5:36time of this podcast being recorded, we are close to 20% of
- 5:42reaching our goal. We are 20% away from reaching
- 5:44our goal, I should say. So check the link in the
- 5:48description show notes for the kowhai website.
- 5:51That is to provide you with the opportunity of donating as much
- 5:59as what it would cost. A cup of coffee, it's not a lot
- 6:02but if literally, everyone who watches and listens to this
- 6:05podcast, if everybody who this podcast reaches was to just do
- 6:10the one minimum donation of like three bucks, you know, we would
- 6:14we would crush our goal and we would, we would get there in no
- 6:18time but we do have a about a month and a half or two months.
- 6:23Yeah, they get the time of this. We got about a two-month window
- 6:27to to get this thing accomplished.
- 6:30So, please check out that again, it's just three dollar donation.
- 6:33Please don't donate any other way.
- 6:35You know, if you want to become a patron on patreon, all that's
- 6:37for the channel but this the kowhai link is to directly for
- 6:42dingo. I always have it up but I'm
- 6:45using it right now for for him. So please feel free to check
- 6:48that out and if you're so inclined and can spare the three
- 6:52dollars for him, it'll help in achieving our goal.
- 6:57All right? So aside from that, in the other
- 6:59housekeeping, things that are going on.
- 7:00On not a whole lot. There is still the park mood
- 7:04coming up here in Middle Tennessee at the Barfield
- 7:06Crescent Park in Murfreesboro. So although for all my listeners
- 7:09and viewers and subscribers and supporters that are in the
- 7:12Middle Tennessee or Northern Alabama or any just proximity of
- 7:15the area, you want to come out to Murfreesboro and September
- 7:1817th, there will be an event link on Facebook, shared here in
- 7:23the description and show notes. All the links are going to be,
- 7:26you know, wherever you catch them where, you know, wherever
- 7:28it is on the podcast wherever it is.
- 7:29If you follow me on social media, You should already know
- 7:31about it but if not and if you're new and you're in the
- 7:34area and you thought, wow, I like to come out and, you know,
- 7:37meet him and some of the other pagans and heathens in our area,
- 7:41please feel free to do. So, it is a potluck style event.
- 7:43So we ask that if you're coming that your plan to bring at least
- 7:47some sort of contribution, if you can't no big deal, I think
- 7:50between everybody who's going to be doing something bringing
- 7:53something, you know, will, we should have plenty to share, but
- 7:57do consider, you know, there there it could be quite A big
- 8:00turnout and we want to make sure that everyone is comfortable and
- 8:03has, you know, enough to choose from and we all have a good
- 8:07time. So there's going to be
- 8:09potentially games potentially music.
- 8:13It's an outdoor event. So, any kind of acoustic
- 8:15instrument of a drum or string, variety, that you have that you
- 8:19want to bring feel free to do. So, we're also going to be
- 8:22having a little mini discussion about one of the Icelandic sagas
- 8:26the coffin. Kill Saga.
- 8:29So it's a barely Short one. And so you should be able to
- 8:33find it online, I'm still hunting down a good PDF file to
- 8:40share for those that maybe want to check it out, but we're going
- 8:42to be talking about that. It's a fun fun Saga to, you
- 8:46know, get into the talking's of. So now that you know all of that
- 8:50that's going on just head over to the event page on Facebook.
- 8:54That's link down in the description of show notes over
- 8:56here, internal learn more about that.
- 8:59But that Very well covers all the immediate housekeeping stuff
- 9:03that I want to talk about today, of course, later on down the
- 9:05road in October, there's the shadow mood event that Raven
- 9:07Hearth is hosting. You can search for them on
- 9:11Facebook that, but as we get closer to that time, there will
- 9:14be more discussion that I have about it.
- 9:17Try to help raise some visibility for it.
- 9:21You know, help those folks out, I will be there, my wife and I
- 9:23will be there together, I'll be there in a very similar attire
- 9:28that you see here today. Doing readings and Rune,
- 9:31castings much like I did for Sunnah bloat.
- 9:34All right, let's so now that we got all of that stuff out of the
- 9:37way, I'm going to go ahead and roll out, the virtual red carpet
- 9:41again, he is the author of two books which are available on
- 9:46Amazon. I have one of them will going to
- 9:48be talking about that in his other books as well.
- 9:52And so please welcome in today on the random, even ramblings
- 9:55podcast. It contemporary that key Kurt
- 9:59Hoekstra. What All right, folks.
- 10:04Well here we have mr. Kurt Hoekstra and is otherwise
- 10:08known by his moniker. It contemporary Vicki.
- 10:11Thank you so much for for joining us today Kerr.
- 10:13It's good to have you here. No problem.
- 10:15Thanks for having me. Hey, I'm very, very, very
- 10:18excited. It's not often that, you know, I
- 10:21have had various guests on the show before of all different
- 10:25types of approaches to spirituality and Heathen re
- 10:29paganism. And I'm not 100% sure that I
- 10:33could say. That I've had someone who is
- 10:38referred to, or known in the community as a, as a Vicky and
- 10:42then some of the other things that we know you as and for.
- 10:45So, it's exciting. I'm excited to get to talk with
- 10:47you about your background and stuff.
- 10:50Well, I'm more than willing to talk about any of it.
- 10:54Fantastic. Well, that's good because that's
- 10:55why you're here, right? Well, before we do get into
- 11:00talking about things, I'm going to Ask you a favor if you don't
- 11:05mind. So traditionally we do have some
- 11:07incense that we burn. This is a handmade incense
- 11:11burner from Belvedere Workshop. One of my dear friends.
- 11:14Who's an animistic Shaman? Excuse me.
- 11:19Mate, he made this. Yeah, it's got like a
- 11:22representation of your man, go under burned around it.
- 11:27So it's this Serpentine thing very round of it, but I would
- 11:31love for you if you don't mind. To pick the instance that we're
- 11:37going to burn. I have a bunch of ones to choose
- 11:40from and I'm going to give you some Give you some options.
- 11:44So we've got, we've got a coffee.
- 11:48We've got Cedar. Pine mugwort.
- 11:54Frankincense and myrrh Mark, Warren.
- 12:00I had a feeling. I had a feeling.
- 12:02I had a feeling that you were going to say that and it's a
- 12:09good traditional incense so I love, I love me.
- 12:13Getting my tradition in kind of on the outskirts and getting the
- 12:18tradition part taken care of, so I can go on with the
- 12:23Contemporary stuff. So that's kind of where I said
- 12:28in regards all that. Yeah, and I actually from we're
- 12:34going to talk a bit about, you know, I, I let the people know
- 12:37before you got here that you know, you have some books in
- 12:40publication and but we're going to get to talk about that.
- 12:43But the ones I had a feeling that you were going to select
- 12:46mugwort because in your one book that I have the victim using
- 12:51spoke about. Esoteric.
- 12:53Esoteric also true and say there and all that.
- 12:57I think you mentioned in there, that one of your Or go to
- 13:02instances for, whether it be saved, work, or transfer work is
- 13:07is mugwort. I think that's our goal.
- 13:10Absolutely. So to speak, it really grounds
- 13:19me. Well, and I need, you know,
- 13:21what, I'm doing safe work, I need to be grounded because
- 13:25otherwise I could go off into the nether lands and yeah.
- 13:30Drift off for forever. So I need to be grounded and
- 13:34mugwort for me is a rogue grounding sound and that's how
- 13:38it comes in useful for me at least in my years and hopefully,
- 13:44hopefully others would find it the same way, that's great.
- 13:49I mean, I enjoy it, I do a lot of what we call it, like brezin
- 13:56burning it for my own like Hearth cult ritual.
- 14:00As and things, where the resin like the pure resin form of like
- 14:04things like frankincense or Riley, you know, myrrh and cause
- 14:09some of these other ones like benzoate or are not been.
- 14:11So, but benzoin some of these other ones that have a really, I
- 14:16don't want to say, like hallucinogenic as it's not the,
- 14:18but they're kind of heavy, you know?
- 14:19Like they really were actually where they make you feel it.
- 14:21You know, they really helped with some of this, you know,
- 14:24deep spiritual work that we find ourselves and in with.
- 14:27So, you know, mugwort has been one that You used a lot during
- 14:32these types of things too. And yeah, I'm going to think
- 14:34about, you know, as I grow and develop as a as a practitioner
- 14:40of certain Mystic type things that I might consider you the
- 14:45use of mugwort for your the thing that you're talking about.
- 14:48That's helpful to know, please do I think you'll find success
- 14:53but I think you'll find it's really helpful.
- 14:56And I think that the one of the good things about is that That
- 15:00sense since it's kind of a giveaway.
- 15:03You don't have to think about it.
- 15:05You know. You don't have to, you don't
- 15:06have to puzzle it. Mugwort is tried and true.
- 15:10You know, it's done, it's done. It's done the hard time and it's
- 15:14one its place. And so I respect that and work
- 15:18with that then so yeah it's got its put the miles under the
- 15:23tires as it were. Yeah, exactly exactly.
- 15:26Yeah. Alright, great.
- 15:27So then before we get like it, All of this fun stuff that I'm
- 15:31sure you, and I could just literally just jump right into
- 15:34with, with no background or no context.
- 15:36I would love for people who are listening for the first time or
- 15:40I've never heard of you and don't know, you know I made
- 15:43mention that you know I contemporary Vicki.
- 15:45Now that's a pretty specific name or title.
- 15:48What's your background? And kind of give us a little bit
- 15:50of a story behind the Contemporary Vicki and you as a
- 15:54person and where you kind of Started to where you're at now
- 15:57in this in this path if you don't mind sure.
- 16:00Well I became a heathen 32 years ago and I know I know that's
- 16:07exactly what Euro was because it was the same year.
- 16:10I met my husband, so it's very easy to remember.
- 16:13It's a big year for me. I discovered even right?
- 16:17And I met my husband. So I'm that's been cool and.
- 16:21But anyway, so 32 years. I've been here that I've been a
- 16:24big key Being runes specifically for about 27 years now and
- 16:32that's kind of been being a big key.
- 16:35It's funny. I had been on the sort of
- 16:39bizarre trip spiritually and started coming home to roost for
- 16:47me about that time, that I started becoming a Vicky and I'm
- 16:52becoming of the Jesus came real easily to me.
- 16:54I just started studying the The roads because the traditional
- 17:00traditional meaning for the word, Vicky is one who studies
- 17:04the rooms. So I took that a little step
- 17:08further in my own practice and that's why I called myself a
- 17:11contemporary big key as kind of setting myself a little apart
- 17:16from a traditional bit do because what I do is I do say
- 17:21and I do trance work and I do other forms of Magic work that
- 17:28is not necessarily Heathen oriented and you know, it's kind
- 17:34of its kind of the the spiritual pain hands, hands out and
- 17:43Reaching Across sort of things. So yeah, it's it's important to
- 17:50me to keep in mind that I am a A contemporary that you not a
- 17:57traditional Vicki. I really try to keep that in
- 18:01mind when I'm working because I want to, I believe that we all
- 18:10are standing in one place looking forward or we should be
- 18:15looking forward. You can look backward, too, but
- 18:18that's only going to get you so far.
- 18:20Looking forward for me is where the true essence of the Worked
- 18:26is, is in looking forward. And so I I tend to look forward
- 18:34and that's where the power is for me and the work as well.
- 18:39Am I making any sense here? Yeah, 100%.
- 18:42And I think it's important to kind of for me at least to call
- 18:46attention to your awareness of knowing that what you're doing
- 18:51is of a contemporary nature and that it is maybe has some Roots
- 18:56or foundation in ancient Traditions, but that it's not,
- 18:59it's not a re-creation or reconstruction of ancient
- 19:01tradition, your, like you say, looking forward and so many new
- 19:05heathens, especially nowadays, I mean, you're a veteran of the,
- 19:08of the scene, right, like you've put the miles and you've got a
- 19:11lot of decades under your belt to call on experience.
- 19:14And so many new folks that come into this, I think, can
- 19:19sometimes lose sight of the defining lot or the, like, the
- 19:22definitive lines between, you know, You PG or newer and
- 19:28contemporary type, things thinking that we'll just because
- 19:31you know I'm burning sage or I'm dressed in a certain Garb or I'm
- 19:35you know believing in old gods at it all of its old old stuff
- 19:38and maybe not so much. Maybe there's definite you know,
- 19:42contemporary newer Traditions or newer things that are not
- 19:45historical that are not engine in Tradition, but that
- 19:48nonetheless have their place. And as long as we understand
- 19:50that those lines exist and that we have the separation and
- 19:54someone like you who, you know, No calls it out and recognize it
- 19:57even uses it in their title. I think that's an important
- 19:59thing to recognize and just you know, make a call out on right.
- 20:04Yeah, I don't I don't Present myself as somebody who's steeped
- 20:11in lore. I mean, I have a working
- 20:14knowledge of lore as every human as every human should have, but
- 20:19I don't live in the Loire. I live in.
- 20:22I live in looking forward, you know, so, yeah.
- 20:26Well, so then you know, then if I were to say that, you know, we
- 20:31live in, we live in the better than D is what I've said, a lot
- 20:34of times, like, we live in the now we exist in the now, and Who
- 20:37wrote who wrote has been, what has come and led us to where we
- 20:41are now. So we are, we live in very handy
- 20:44and we shape screw, right? We, we shape the ducks that
- 20:47wishes or which will be or what should be or could be in or
- 20:50shall be you know and so much of the you know, you mentioned
- 20:56about looking back. I think there's a there's a
- 21:00there's a place for it like you can look at as almost like a
- 21:03reference. I called, let me go back and
- 21:04look at my sources materials, perhaps.
- 21:06Or let's see. Were like one of my sources for
- 21:09me. Like was to see the way that
- 21:12tacitus documented how important the casting of lots were amongst
- 21:19Germanic tribes and is that to say that it's rooms that they're
- 21:23being cast, they were sticks from a fruit-bearing tree.
- 21:26That has quote marks scribe dog, and right?
- 21:28Like we could probably surmise that they were runes but do we
- 21:31know for sure? It's debatable.
- 21:33But that to me is like a source material that I go back to and
- 21:36say, well, when I Practice, what I practice, this is in a style
- 21:40of which that I'm going to do it.
- 21:41It's not that I'm trying to recreate something that was
- 21:43done, you know, thousands of years ago.
- 21:45But I'm looking at that saying how this is how those people did
- 21:47it? How can I incorporate it into a
- 21:50modern approach? And I didn't know if you've
- 21:53encountered that sort of thing in the years of your experience,
- 21:56or how you look at, That sort of approach to things, you know, is
- 22:01it a little bit of the past mixed with the future?
- 22:03Is it? Let's forget the past let's move
- 22:05totally foot 100% forward. Like what's your take on it?
- 22:08Sure. I know, I don't totally
- 22:11disregard the best, I Look to it and I use it as a jumping board
- 22:17from which to Spring off of and so it will be my basis, but it's
- 22:24not going to be my stock and stopping point.
- 22:27I like having Being the basis so that I can then look forward
- 22:32from the basis and move forward from that spot.
- 22:37If that makes any sense, you're a doll.
- 22:39Yeah, it's it's similar for for me and maybe for a lot of other
- 22:44folks, but I don't know if it's such a living thing, right?
- 22:47Like the they're not just some dead pieces of wood and their or
- 22:52stone or any other sort of living materials.
- 22:56There's they're living. And so we have to live Grow with
- 22:59the otherwise we get stuck in the past and I've I've done hold
- 23:03conversations and discussions about tradition being the
- 23:07preservation of fire, not the worship of Ashes.
- 23:10You know, dashes are what was from the fire that was burning
- 23:14there before. Now there's nothing left to him.
- 23:15So you're you're you're trying to resurrect something that is
- 23:20long dead and over with look to the Embers, look to the fire,
- 23:24breathe, new life into things that are still.
- 23:27Glowing in there in there, in that ember store, coal, like,
- 23:31State and breathe new life into it.
- 23:33And this could just be another example of that, I think.
- 23:36Absolutely. And the whole idea that there
- 23:41are Embers and, you know, that's from me, the starting place is
- 23:48the Embers. And then you grow from there.
- 23:51At least. I'd for I try to.
- 23:53I try to Fan The Embers and get the flame back.
- 23:56Yes. You don't get things going
- 23:58again, and that's what I'm doing.
- 24:01What I'm looking forward is. I'm Fanning those flames and I'm
- 24:04going, yes, let's get a new fire going and then I get the new
- 24:09fire going and I'm like wrong. Now, what do I do?
- 24:12Yeah, I gotta manage this whole big flaming thing, you know.
- 24:18Which is, which is cool and exciting, all in of itself.
- 24:22So, that's that's cool in and of itself.
- 24:25So, yeah, now, with with the years that you've had of doing
- 24:31this type of thing and starting off as, you know, Vicki, right,
- 24:37or a contemporary Vicki. But you also mentioned that you
- 24:40incorporate things, like save work, right?
- 24:43And I did mention it early before you came on here, does
- 24:46like an intro for the people listening in?
- 24:48That there's there's in the Norse traditions of their were,
- 24:53what we called vulva, they were the women folk, they were the
- 24:57cirus', they were the ones who traditionally would practice say
- 25:02there, but there were also, I least we have in the Lord, we
- 25:08have a male counterpart or equivalent.
- 25:11And that's, I think the title Vicki where you might fall, it's
- 25:13like the male witch or the male's sorcerer the or that sort
- 25:17of thing. So for me, big team means nor
- 25:20Shaman, okay? And I think, you know that
- 25:24there's definitely elements to that in there.
- 25:26I mean I am of the view of the mind that these types of titles
- 25:31of these types of names are what the community with the people
- 25:35refer to them. As it's like, I don't I didn't
- 25:37wake up one day and call myself a Vicki myself just because I
- 25:41decided to start learning the runes.
- 25:43Like I was a student of the runes.
- 25:45I was I was learning and then one day it kind of It came to
- 25:48me. It's like well, no.
- 25:49You're you you're not, you're in it now.
- 25:51Like you kind of you got your feet wet and now you there's no
- 25:55going back, right? I don't know, I didn't do it.
- 25:58I didn't do that either. I didn't wake up one day and go.
- 26:01Oh, I'm a big key. It's just, it came to me.
- 26:05As a matter of fact, I think someone else called me first,
- 26:09everything first before I realized exactly what it meant
- 26:14because I was just kind of going through the actions at that
- 26:17point. Or studying the rooms.
- 26:19So yet, and it's, I mean, if I were to put a time frame on when
- 26:24I started and now, you know, here you are, you know, 30 years
- 26:27a heathen plus, and then 20 plus years as a, as a, as a learned',
- 26:33rune, master or Vicki, you know, I would say that if I were to
- 26:37put a number to the years, maybe five, five, five with Rune,
- 26:43knowledge or studying the runes, and my practice has changed a
- 26:47bit or Evolved, I guess you could say over time, have you
- 26:51also experience like, do you read the runes the same way now
- 26:54as you did 20 years ago? No, no, I used to be very
- 27:00married to certain meanings and a list of meanings.
- 27:07And I was really married to it, but I've become more fluid now,
- 27:12and I'm more situational. I guess is the word I would use,
- 27:16I take into account. Out.
- 27:18What's going on in situationally?
- 27:22Achieve reading, so to speak. Or, you know, yeah, the speak of
- 27:30some reading and that's kind of part of where it goes for me, so
- 27:36you're not quite so I don't know, maybe.
- 27:39It's not like it's not so methodical in the so much
- 27:42anymore as it is organic like what's the situation?
- 27:45How are we going to rise? Do this?
- 27:48What are we going to do? How are we going to grow with
- 27:51this? What are we going to pin down?
- 27:54And then say these are the things we're going to work
- 27:57forward with and things like that.
- 28:00So that's kind of where I am now.
- 28:03But when I began I was just cut and dry.
- 28:07This is what the books say. So yeah.
- 28:10It must mean and that's for me at least at this point in my
- 28:15career, it's kind of limiting and I don't like being a
- 28:19limited. I think that the whole point of
- 28:22what the word should be true free and not to liberabit, you
- 28:26know, to liberate not to hold you back.
- 28:30So, yeah, I I agree I and I found myself like when I first
- 28:37And I'm going to I'm going to I think I've told this telling of
- 28:41the tail many times at least on other podcast.
- 28:43I'm not sure if you've heard it before.
- 28:44So if you don't mind I'm just going to, I'm going to tell you
- 28:46my moment of realization that the rooms, where the thing that
- 28:50I was supposed to be doing because I think a lot of folks
- 28:52when they first come into he'd Andre, it's almost like they
- 28:55think that there's a mandatory thing to do.
- 28:58And one of them is that I have to learn the rooms and I say no,
- 29:02you don't have to learn the runes to be a good, he then you
- 29:05don't have to study the rooms to be a heathen at all.
- 29:07Leave the Rune work to the room, Rune stairs, the 50s of the, you
- 29:11know, leave it to them, right? Let them that have been called
- 29:14to it or that feel an attraction or to a drawing to it, let them
- 29:17do it because they're the ones that are going to be able to
- 29:19read them better for you. They're going to be able to do
- 29:21the thing that needs to be done. If you feel obligated in any way
- 29:25then you probably shouldn't be doing it right.
- 29:28And my the moment that I got basically woken up quite
- 29:36literally from a deep sleep, Leap in realize that the rooms
- 29:41were a direction that I should be going, and is it was, it was
- 29:45a night that and I'd have to go back and remember what day of
- 29:49the week or when what time of year, it was?
- 29:52But anyway, I was awoken from a deep sleep by the sound of what
- 29:56I can only best described. As you know, when you'd like,
- 29:58take two two by fours and you crack them together.
- 30:01Yeah. It was a, it was a it was a
- 30:03sound like that and I woke up and it jarred me so much.
- 30:07I had to like sit up in bed because it's startling like it
- 30:10just it was a jarring Awakening and when that happened of course
- 30:14the room is dark and I saw like in my mind's eye.
- 30:20Both Allah flashing almost like like repeatedly just flashing
- 30:25and I could hear the oath Allah being like altered, you know,
- 30:31like back and forth, back and forth on and I was like, huh?
- 30:35Well That was the start of it. That was the moment that I was
- 30:39like, okay I guess the two yggdrasil I go right like here
- 30:43it's time to learn the runes, hang from the tree as it were in
- 30:47and figure. All this all this stuff out and
- 30:51it was such a an exciting moment and I was like trying to absorb
- 30:55anything and everything, you know, what Missy, what material
- 30:57can I learn from? How do I do this?
- 30:59Now that I'm being given this information, right?
- 31:02And it was such a You know, I did I like, okay.
- 31:06Well, let me follow what the book says and I know when I
- 31:08didn't really feel it, like, it didn't feel like I connected
- 31:11with it and that certain way I'm like, well, let me try it.
- 31:14My way. Like, let me see what feels
- 31:16right for me based off of what I was learning and yeah, like why
- 31:20the way I do things now is totally different than the way I
- 31:23was doing things. When I first started, what was
- 31:25your what was room? If you don't mind, if you can,
- 31:27if you remember, do you remember what your moment of realization
- 31:30was to get into the rooms? Was it a profound thing or was
- 31:34it a bit more? No, no, it was, it was, it was
- 31:37kind of a profound thing. I was I was playing with the
- 31:43rooms which you can do, you can play with them and not being
- 31:47serious about them and just going to be like the lalalalala.
- 31:51So I was playing with the rooms and not really getting anything
- 31:56off of them. Seriously, but one time I pulled
- 32:02on sirs and answers just for some reason that day for flooded
- 32:10Of my being and and my room and the whole everything that was
- 32:17around me was answers and I was like, well that's pretty cool.
- 32:23I should really do something with this.
- 32:26So, you know, unser's is about words and gods and all of those
- 32:31sorts of things. So I was like, oh this is like
- 32:34studying the rooms. Okay, I'm going to do this
- 32:38seriously now and that's when I I started really looking for
- 32:46sources that I could utilize that would be good sources that
- 32:53would help me move forward in becoming and becoming a vegan.
- 32:59So I kind of like, almost it chose me.
- 33:04Yeah. By the same token, I kind of
- 33:07helped knows if it that way of that.
- 33:09Yes. Judged in that direction.
- 33:12And so, that's kind of how it happened for me.
- 33:16Anyway, now, with with that, right?
- 33:20With, after having been given the vision or the, or the
- 33:24inspiration, because he say, en sus, right?
- 33:27Divine inspiration, the, the, the spoken word, the written
- 33:31word, the the passing of breath? Like, all of those things, it's
- 33:34a very complex room, right? We can, we could probably, we
- 33:37could probably do a whole podcast on just a grounds.
- 33:40No. And so you did that and then now
- 33:44you have actually published your own source material publish your
- 33:48own works that people can can purchase and learn things from
- 33:54you. One of those being which I have
- 33:57here. It's Vicki musings runes, say
- 34:00there and esoteric also true. This is available on Amazon and
- 34:06it's going to be. So for people that are watching
- 34:07and listening the link for this book, Is in Kurt's, other book.
- 34:12And I'm going to let you Kurt talked about this and the other
- 34:15one, because I'm a little bit less aware of what the other
- 34:18material is that you have here, but you do literally took on
- 34:21soos to the to, the writing board.
- 34:23Basically you? Well, you think it's funny.
- 34:40So the like traveled it all together into a book form.
- 34:45So it was really easy to write for me it wasn't a chore, it
- 34:50came very easily for me so that was exciting but the reason I
- 34:54held this one up right away is because this esoteric musings my
- 34:58newest book and it includes the entire Vicki musings book, and
- 35:05extra material as a as a big tea.
- 35:10That's included, there's like the next strip almost years
- 35:15worth of information, and then it's also my Reflections as a
- 35:21druid. And that's the esoteric music is
- 35:25comes in because it's my, it's my look at the world, both from
- 35:29a druidic, and a Vicki mindset. So it's the workings of a druid
- 35:37and Vicki. Absolutely.
- 35:40That's what this book is. So it's kind of its kind of a
- 35:46big topic but it's I really like this part and I know I'm
- 35:51supposed to light everything I write, but I thought you might
- 35:55be a little biased. But yeah, and it's good and so
- 36:05I'm hoping people will read that and get a dual point of view.
- 36:10The Druid and the victory at the same time and that's pretty
- 36:15exciting for me to look at and to bring to the world so to
- 36:22speak. And so that's kind of work that
- 36:26will come from the other books that I really love and would
- 36:30like to kind of give a thumbs up to his my book.
- 36:33Let there be light. It's, it's a book, it's not
- 36:38terribly long, but it's Really good little book about how to
- 36:42get a p which I think is so important for today's sure,
- 36:49contemporary, whatever you call yourself, you know, it's really
- 36:53important to be a happy-go-lucky kind of practitioner and so this
- 37:00book is all about getting happiness, and that's pretty
- 37:03exciting. So I wanted to put a plug in for
- 37:06that one as well. So, ok, so and this is It's
- 37:10available in Amazon as well, along with all of my books are
- 37:14available exclusively on Earth. Well, that's not true because
- 37:17some of them are available on Walmart.com so yeah, I'll get
- 37:22you. Yeah, I know it's amazing.
- 37:25Every once in a while just to find out what they're saying,
- 37:28nasty about me, I Google my own name and I don't do that as a,
- 37:34as a pumping myself up kind of thing.
- 37:39I really want to know. People are saying bad things
- 37:41about me. It's nice to keep yourself in
- 37:44check. Yeah, exactly.
- 37:46Yeah. So I like Googling my name but
- 37:49anyway, I Googled my name one time and there was walmart.com
- 37:53and I went on and sure enough. There was my book on Walmart.com
- 37:57so but if people if people go to Amazon which we're going to have
- 38:03links to your books annotated here so that benefits you you
- 38:08get like a commission or something like Q, you make
- 38:11something you? Yeah, it helps, you work that
- 38:22you put in. And so, you know, for, for those
- 38:25that are looking to, you know, expand their Library, Vicky
- 38:29musings. I enjoyed it again.
- 38:31It was a very refreshing and easy to reformat, you know, like
- 38:34some things for some people might be entirely to format or
- 38:39academic, and it could lose. To somebody right to the
- 38:41interest to learn. They might get lost in the, I
- 38:44don't know, the structure of it all your brother, he's very
- 38:47easily and it's very, it's a very easy read and it's not a
- 38:50slight to you. I'm saying it's well-written,
- 38:52but it's an easy read, you know what I mean, it's easy to keep
- 38:55interested in, you know? So I definitely encourage people
- 39:00that are, you know, looking to learn more about you and what
- 39:04you're doing in the knowledge that you have and sharing with
- 39:06the world to it's going to be annotated.
- 39:08So you know, podcasters head. Over to the show notes and
- 39:12YouTube folks on the description.
- 39:13It's going to be linked down there.
- 39:15Check out. So it's e satiric musings, which
- 39:18has the druidic and Norse, I guess, perspectives on things,
- 39:23kind of combined and plus some other neat things.
- 39:25And if you're just looking for the Norse or whatever, Vicki
- 39:29stuff it's, you know, Vicky musings and then you said the
- 39:31other one was let there be light.
- 39:34Let's go another title that I have, that's really good.
- 39:39But the cool thing about Both of those titles is there
- 39:42illustrated by my good friend, Saga, Erickson and Saga does
- 39:47wonderful illustrations in both esoteric musings and let there
- 39:51be light. So she's that's your name.
- 39:55Yeah that's that's a name that that I think a lot of folks in
- 39:59the Pagan and heat and communities would probably
- 40:02recognize. So it's reputable reputable
- 40:05person there. Yeah.
- 40:06Yep. She's my best friend and So, you
- 40:11know, I love having her work involved in my books and that's
- 40:19exciting. So it may just as an aside say
- 40:23to you viewers, I have a mouse. So that's where some of my
- 40:28stuttering comes from. I think a thought and it gets
- 40:31kind of trapped on its way down here.
- 40:35So if you hit me stuttering or whatnot, that's it's because I
- 40:39have em. So I have to really think things
- 40:42through so. But anyway, that's it, you're
- 40:45doing awesome. I mean, you're doing, you're
- 40:47doing great. And yeah, I took that to me, I
- 40:50never can tell. Yeah, the en sus is really
- 40:53working well for you, but if I were you, it would be a
- 41:07nonsense. So, lovely.
- 41:10Well that's great Kurt and I wanted to maybe talk a little
- 41:13bit about some of the specifics of things.
- 41:15You know, you've got all these experiences and all these
- 41:19Decades of knowledge and stuff and stuff to work on.
- 41:22And that's, you know, what the community looks for is, is
- 41:25people that have experience and that orange just like, hey, I
- 41:28read a book one time and I watched a few music videos, or
- 41:31are a watched a few YouTube videos.
- 41:32And now I know how to read the runes.
- 41:35I'm sure you've seen. I'm sure you've seen those types
- 41:37pop up where they're like, yeah, And like you're doing it since
- 41:41it's insulting to to see that happen.
- 41:44So, you know, I was wondering like, you know, you, we have
- 41:48people that come up and they're like, well, how should I, you
- 41:50know, how should I read the runes?
- 41:53I've read about, you know, ruins being casted or thrown?
- 41:57I've heard, I've heard about runes being drawn, you know,
- 42:00what should I do? How should I do it?
- 42:01Do you have any? I don't know.
- 42:03Like inside or thoughts about one versus the other.
- 42:06Does it have one of those? Yeah.
- 42:08Go ahead. And For me, and my practice as
- 42:13opposed to a Caster. Casting groans is a little more
- 42:19rambunctious for me. If I'm really in a rambunctious
- 42:23mood, then I'll test the runs and I'll throw them and read
- 42:28them that way. But normally, I like the control
- 42:31of Pullin room and then I can pull them in an order, you know,
- 42:36and really build a scenario So to speak from the pole itself as
- 42:44opposed to the cast, although you can build a story from a
- 42:48cast as well. I'm just not as cool with that
- 42:54as I am with the building of a drawn sort of scenario, so I
- 43:00prefer to draw but that's just me.
- 43:03Everybody is different and I have other divination systems
- 43:08that I practiced that I threw out.
- 43:09Wow. And so, maybe maybe I get my
- 43:14mind fill the throwing in other versions of things that I do.
- 43:19And so I don't need to throw the room so much.
- 43:22So I've had, I've had, you know, I'm usually the one on this end
- 43:27of the table or this end of the reading, right?
- 43:29I'm usually the one that is doing the, the actual work, and
- 43:33it's rare that I've had it done for me in return, or that I've
- 43:38had any sort of like, ruins red or car, It's right or whatever.
- 43:41I had one thing happened. One time and this was a really
- 43:44wild form of divination this. I was that and I was at a pagan
- 43:48event and this this this lady was there who was II don't even
- 43:56know what you would call it technically.
- 43:58But it was she had an assortment of material and I'm talking like
- 44:02she had teeth, she had bones, she had scales, she had pieces
- 44:08of shell, she had all different kinds of organic animal remains
- 44:15and and other natural things and she would use this is this is
- 44:20the really interesting thing instead of like Picking one of
- 44:25the other it was like a casting sort of thing and she would read
- 44:28them using the quill of a porcupine.
- 44:30Ah, cool. Yeah.
- 44:32And she would like pick through the things and see where and it
- 44:35was like a casting cloth that was that was used and where
- 44:38things would learn and how she, you know, where face up face
- 44:41down sideways, whatever. Like it was, it was a very
- 44:43intricate method and I'm like, I don't even know of any Source
- 44:47material that I could look up to understand what the hell it is
- 44:49that she was doing. But I tell you what she knew
- 44:53what she was. Was doing and it was it was spot
- 44:55on and I'm like this is cool. Like this is the kind of I think
- 44:57the living tradition the breathing of New Life the
- 45:01whether it's documented or not like she's got a system that
- 45:04worked right and employs it. Well, that's a wonderful thing.
- 45:09That's a wonderful thing. I'm going to read for you right
- 45:12now. Justin oh boy, okay.
- 45:14Well this is this is unprecedented.
- 45:17Ladies and gentlemen. So yeah, this is I normally in
- 45:20this is the weird thing to like while you're, I don't know doing
- 45:23that. Just to let you know like most
- 45:26of my readings and castings are done in person because I need
- 45:31that for me right now. At least I need that.
- 45:33I need that in-person experience.
- 45:35I need that exchange of energy to the to the, I guess to the
- 45:40exclusion of for my patreons. Patrons on patreon.
- 45:44I'll do like a monthly room reading where I'll read a room
- 45:47for them. The specific her and I will do
- 45:48is sip Prune pull for my patrons on patreon.
- 45:51So there's, there's that. But in terms of any sort of like
- 45:54in-depth, you know, reading of sorts.
- 45:57I've never I guess I could say I've done it once for somebody
- 46:01one time and it worked out well, but it was is a near and dear
- 46:05friend, you know. So I'd already kind of, I guess
- 46:07establish some sort of closeness spawned connection to them but
- 46:11yeah, that is exciting. So, first time for me, having
- 46:15I'll just read, here we go. Your first row in is In law's.
- 46:20Can you see that? Yeah yep.
- 46:22Yep. In was, so that's number one and
- 46:26we're going to pull three and number two, is it was, I was And
- 46:39the last one. Is bur Khanna.
- 46:50Okay let me hold it up here. I'm my hands.
- 46:53Don't work the Emmaus. There's per gallon.
- 46:57So we've got ping was at was And for Cano.
- 47:05And what's that means to me? Would you have a question that
- 47:09you've been formulating throughout those or is it a
- 47:14general? I mean, so in terms of I didn't
- 47:18have like a question going into this because honestly I didn't
- 47:20know that this was going to be a thing like I did.
- 47:22I had no idea that this was going to even plan for like, hey
- 47:25guy, I'm doing this for. Okay.
- 47:26Well then here we go. We're Off to the Races, right?
- 47:29Yeah. Okay, cool.
- 47:30So what this means for you is, The gestation of something that
- 47:35has to do with loyalty, you are just saving something, that is a
- 47:40feeling of loyalty that is going to birth a whole new.
- 47:47Outlook for you. And that's what's happening for
- 47:51you right now. Does that ring any bells?
- 47:53Yeah, yeah, it actually does so, for those that have listened and
- 47:59so this is pretty kind of it's wild to think about because the
- 48:03anybody that's listening to my podcast for like the last almost
- 48:08a year. Now it's almost like a recap of
- 48:12past things and a saga living itself out in a way like there's
- 48:17updates to the story and there's things that are happening right
- 48:20now or that have been happening recently that reflect the
- 48:24dormancy of gestation because there's there's a time for
- 48:29growth that needs to happen. The during gestation, but it's
- 48:32Stillness, it's right, I see, it's a cessation of motion for
- 48:38the necessary growth. It took to set in But we're at
- 48:43the end of that. It stops time.
- 48:46It's time for baby to come out, right.
- 48:47It's time for baby to be born. And there's I like the air was
- 48:54pole because of the for me. Anyways, the the meaning of
- 49:00teamwork, the, the combined effort towards that goal that L
- 49:05was possesses and it's in it's in some of its meanings, right?
- 49:08That's the horse and the rider. A mutual again, goals in mind
- 49:14that you have and then we're working together for that goal.
- 49:17And there's a lot of that happening here in Middle,
- 49:19Tennessee area, specifically, because we have a lot of folks
- 49:23who have been dormant for a while because I like the virus
- 49:27and other things and we we're reintroducing Park moots and
- 49:31meetups in our area. And we're bringing people out
- 49:33from the woodwork and there's a lot of activity happening in our
- 49:36area and there's chatter happening.
- 49:38There's there's activities going on.
- 49:39There's events taking place. Has all kinds of things that are
- 49:43in motion with big things in mind for the future.
- 49:49You know, there's there's there's talk of a grand assembly
- 49:53at some point between tribes and neighboring kindred's and stuff
- 49:56in our area. It's still very you know new and
- 49:59it's still very it hasn't even really talked about in any great
- 50:02detail. But there are conversations
- 50:04happening in interest, is there you know people's interest is
- 50:07piqued, so cool that whole thing.
- 50:11Does that reading Mary read through them?
- 50:15It did? Yeah.
- 50:16Yeah. Okay.
- 50:16I would think after what you've just described.
- 50:20So that's cool. So we just did a live reading
- 50:23for you. There, you see it, folks.
- 50:26I mean, I can't either. And again, the people that are,
- 50:30you know, follow what I do there.
- 50:33They know what I'm talking about, in sense that the history
- 50:35of things, you know, stuff with my Goethe and, and just other
- 50:38activities things that are going on.
- 50:40Like it's all it reinforces things.
- 50:44And what you ask of the runes, right?
- 50:48What does it say is something along the line?
- 50:49I forget the exact verbatim phrase in one of the sagas was
- 50:53you know what, you ask of the runes will be true or that, you
- 50:56know that the rooms don't lies. Actually, you know, like I mean
- 50:59there there's a lot to them and the ones that The reading and
- 51:04all of them, you know, the whole I think it's stanza.
- 51:07The Harbour mods was a stanza 140 something, right?
- 51:10Do you know how to read them to, you know, how to bless them?
- 51:12Do you know how to send them to? You know, what a cast and do you
- 51:13know how to blood them? Do you know how to sacrifice,
- 51:16you know, how to do all these things?
- 51:17Because if you don't you have no business plan playing with them.
- 51:21All right, well, I spent my time playing first and then I became
- 51:29serious. So, yeah, I mean, it's almost
- 51:32kind of like I Think in a way almost with any trade, you know,
- 51:35like you have to have a you have to have an interest to want to
- 51:39explore, you know. So whether it's the Carpenter's
- 51:41son, who likes to bang on trees with his stick or, you know, or
- 51:47the, you know, any other sort of Craftsmen or Tradesmen that that
- 51:51is looking to, you know, You know, grow that with their, that
- 51:58their children and stuff. Like they have to have an
- 52:00interest. They have to want to be
- 52:01exploratory, they want. They have to want to play a
- 52:04berries. Exactly.
- 52:05Exactly. In the play, the play part.
- 52:07At least for me is very important because that's where
- 52:10you get the Curiosity. It is, curiosity, is the big
- 52:14thing for me anyway. 60 idea that it exploratory.
- 52:17It's not it's not to say that. You're just acting all
- 52:19willy-nilly and being disrespectful and complacent.
- 52:22No no it's it's that Curiosity. It's that It's very well part
- 52:27and it's exploring within the tradition that, at least, for
- 52:31me, that's where I do my exploring explore within the
- 52:37framework of the Traditions that we've learned that we have in
- 52:42this path. And so that's what's important,
- 52:48at least for me. Yeah, I would agree with that.
- 52:52And, you know how else can, You know, and I see this or I've
- 52:58seen this happen, how else can you learn something without
- 53:03first? Again you got to be out,
- 53:06explore, you got it, you got to put your foot in the water
- 53:08first. And then you also have to have
- 53:10sometimes in some moments where, you know, like, oh shit, I
- 53:14almost drowned. Or I almost felt like I almost
- 53:17died. You know.
- 53:18Like you got to have some of those moments that put you in
- 53:20check and give you the sense of like the severity and the
- 53:24reality of what. You're Doing you know like when
- 53:26I was first learning any sort of skill or trade, you know, like
- 53:31you're going to make mistakes along the way you're going to
- 53:33fall and you but if you don't if you aren't allowed the
- 53:37opportunity to explore and this is one of the thing I was trying
- 53:40to say before it was like, kids, nowadays, they're inquisitive,
- 53:44they're, they're naturally exploratory, right?
- 53:49And how many times do we see? You know, cases where, you know,
- 53:55kids and whatnot are prevented from exploring right now.
- 54:00I don't want you to fall. I don't want you to hurt
- 54:01yourself. I don't want you to get sick.
- 54:02I don't want to do this. That's how they learn.
- 54:04That's how they, that's how they become part of the world.
- 54:07That's how we became part of the world right now.
- 54:10Let's get out there. Yeah, thank you Dad, my father
- 54:14taught me plus you know, don't be a, don't be afraid to let the
- 54:19kids fall and bump their knees and scrape, their elbows and get
- 54:24sick. A little bit along like, like
- 54:26that's conditioning that that's part of what makes you capable
- 54:30of dealing with the world. Now, it's not a bad thing.
- 54:34As my father used to say, It's a Long Way From the Heart.
- 54:39The pain is a long way from the heart.
- 54:42Yeah, you know you can you can fall and get up again you know,
- 54:49sir that's the cool thing about it.
- 54:52Yeah it's not the end of the world, it's not the end of it
- 54:54all and just because you tripped and fell doesn't mean that you
- 54:56should stop if anything it means that now I know what not to do
- 54:59to fall again. Like you know, it's it's that
- 55:02old. Like why do we fall Master Wayne
- 55:06so that we can learn Learn to pick ourselves up exactly.
- 55:10It's the experience it's the learning and it's the knowing
- 55:13that you have, you know, people around you and people near and
- 55:18close to you. That the air was that the
- 55:20teamwork, the the ones that want to achieve the same goals as you
- 55:23that are willing to pick you up and when they fall, you're there
- 55:27to pick them up and you know, you you rise and fall together
- 55:30as it were. It's a Symbian sort of thing in
- 55:33our existence in the world, is everything with each other.
- 55:36It's, there's, you know, no. Three, nobody grows.
- 55:41And this is part of, I don't know.
- 55:42Like there's the randomness of it, how things segue, nobody
- 55:44grows in isolation. Like there's there's, there's a
- 55:51healing that happens in isolation.
- 55:54There's a Realization. I think of oneself that happens
- 56:00in isolation. But the growth happens when the
- 56:03light steps in. When the Yara say, stage of
- 56:07things that that cyclic rotation of.
- 56:11All right, well you're done being dormant.
- 56:13Now it's time to move on move. We see it.
- 56:17I will we see it in nature, right?
- 56:18Then the seasons of the year, you know?
- 56:20If you stay, I mean Winters too long, what happens, right
- 56:25fimbulwinter Yeah, we all know about that stay in stay in Isa
- 56:32for too long and he said, you know it's you know you're stuck
- 56:34in Frozen right? Exactly.
- 56:37Yes. Very very good point.
- 56:41I think see the cool thing is that and you're doing a great
- 56:46job of it right now, illustrating how it works, you
- 56:50learn all the stuff and then you have this vocabulary available
- 56:56to you and you can go through it.
- 56:59Really, you know, quickly because it's right there at a
- 57:03and and you know what, you know, and you can say what you can say
- 57:09and that's exciting for me. And you're doing a great example
- 57:13of teaching that principle of, you know, learn the stuff and
- 57:17then just go with it. You know, throw it out there and
- 57:22let me work with it and You know, move forward, at least for
- 57:27me. It's always about moving
- 57:29forward. So move forward, and really
- 57:34marry yourself to that aspect. So so that you can keep keep
- 57:39progressing because that's all it's about for me, anywhere is
- 57:43about progression. I want to progress, I always
- 57:46want to progress and so that's kind of where I am.
- 57:50Yeah, yeah, I think that's where we all want to be, right?
- 57:53We don't want to I would help be stuck.
- 57:55I would hope to write and then it's and it's tough and that's,
- 57:58that's great. Why, you know, you've got some
- 58:01literary work, you know, being happy and the whole you know,
- 58:04let there be light thing like you'd like as you mentioned
- 58:07before the world needs that people need that.
- 58:09They need to know how to heal themselves.
- 58:12And how to know that with what they're going through even if
- 58:14they don't feel like it's you know even if what they're going
- 58:18through is trash. Like if what they're feeling is
- 58:22just I hate Right, right? You're still valid and you still
- 58:26have things, you know, you're still loved, you still have ways
- 58:29that you can work through it and it's not the end.
- 58:31It's, you know, it's a point in the road that you're facing and
- 58:36you know we got to get through it but it's not it's not the end
- 58:39and there's there it's you don't have to feel hopeless and in
- 58:42that difficult time, you know, right?
- 58:46There's no such thing in my world is hopelessness.
- 58:49I don't buy into the helplessness thing I buy into
- 58:53the hope. Full thing I believe that it's
- 58:57always something that can be talked upon.
- 59:00You can you can have a hope and really focus on and move toward
- 59:06it. And the next thing you know,
- 59:07that hope is a reality and and at least in my experience and
- 59:14you know that's that's another thing I'd like to give the youth
- 59:18is, you know, be hopeful really approach.
- 59:24Life from a hopeful place. Because if you do, Progress.
- 59:30Hopefully, then you can find a whole world of things that you
- 59:36didn't know, existed that a big and Broad and I think happy and
- 59:43helpful. We have to, you have to go into
- 59:48it with that mindset and I don't know, I mean, the way that I see
- 59:52it, Kurt is like we have such a power within us to be able to
- 59:59manipulate and to shape weird that none of like a lot of
- 1:00:03people don't even realize that the impact that we have on the
- 1:00:05web you know willing it purpose behind what we do the intent.
- 1:00:12There's power in there, there, there's power in that and they,
- 1:00:15and it can be used for good and it can be used for ill.
- 1:00:18But the fact of the matter is that it's there, it's within us.
- 1:00:21And if we just tap, if we allow ourselves to open up a little
- 1:00:24bit and tap into the capabilities that we have, it's
- 1:00:28it's totally within our reach, our minds ourselves.
- 1:00:32We are more capable of things than we give ourselves credit
- 1:00:36for at times. I feel I agree, I agree.
- 1:00:39And some the more, the more we give us Those credit for the
- 1:00:43more we move forward at least in my experience, because if you
- 1:00:47give yourself credit for an event then you can move forward
- 1:00:51because you said, oh I've achieved this Mark that off.
- 1:00:55Now I can move to the next item on the list and then move
- 1:00:59towards that. So, yeah, and send in and
- 1:01:03speaking of achievements, man. Like, I mean after 30 plus years
- 1:01:08and 20 more than being spent specifically, And divination and
- 1:01:14divinatory work. What do you have anything that
- 1:01:17I'm sure you do but could you like these there one particular
- 1:01:20thing that stands out in your mind, I was like a profound or
- 1:01:23standout moment where you maybe it.
- 1:01:27Maybe it was a reading. Maybe it was a safe work session
- 1:01:31or anything that maybe just stands out amongst everything
- 1:01:36else for you. Sure sure.
- 1:01:38I'm there was this one. I'm very close to my father,
- 1:01:43he's passed, but I'm so very close to my father.
- 1:01:47And there was an experience where I did the same session
- 1:01:50where I reached out to him and he spoke to me and it was
- 1:01:56profound and he was seeing, this is the way the Multiverse works
- 1:02:02at least in my universe. My father was very as as a
- 1:02:08living being. He was very dry.
- 1:02:10Run. And he did not because he was
- 1:02:13first generation American. So I'm his face.
- 1:02:18His parents were German and so he was very German and he was
- 1:02:23very anti-irish. Shall we?
- 1:02:27Say he has, he has a yellow, you have a predilection to not like
- 1:02:31the Irish, so it was very shocking for me years after he
- 1:02:37had passed and moved on to, you know, A different plane to be
- 1:02:42woken up in the middle of my sleep.
- 1:02:43By his voice, saying the word drew it totally threw me for a
- 1:02:49loop. I'm like, why would my dad be
- 1:02:51saying Druid to me? But that started me down that
- 1:02:55particular part of my path as well.
- 1:02:59And I'm it was all a word from my Father which I've never would
- 1:03:02have expected because it was an Irish sort of set up.
- 1:03:07Yeah, he wasn't sad. So yeah, it's funny how The
- 1:03:11Multiverse Works in ways like that at least.
- 1:03:14Yeah. Well it is interesting that I
- 1:03:17mean because The Druids were more than just Irish, I mean,
- 1:03:20the Celts. Oh I know I noticed and the
- 1:03:22Gauls and I mean like there's there's they were Mainland
- 1:03:26Germanic of of Mainland Germanic Origins.
- 1:03:29Whereas I don't know is who is a your surname?
- 1:03:33Is it Norwegian? Who struck its Dutch.
- 1:03:37Oh it's dutch. Okay, well I'm Dutch tummy.
- 1:03:39Still wagon. That's I'm That's, that's
- 1:03:41Duchess all day long. So yeah, yeah, poke Strat
- 1:03:45literally means High Street. Okay.
- 1:03:48Hog straps, highest. Okay.
- 1:03:52Interesting in touch or whatever.
- 1:03:54So yeah, but yeah. So it's interesting though that
- 1:03:57the, The ancestral pull the ancestral call of Druid, it's
- 1:04:03Celtic. It's it's not just Irish per se
- 1:04:07but the connection the Primal layers Coming through in that
- 1:04:13moment, really seem to transcend any sort of superficial
- 1:04:18animosity or something that a person or persons may have had
- 1:04:21between nationalities rise. Exactly, right?
- 1:04:26Yeah, it's like it. Transcended all that and it's
- 1:04:29like touch he died. So it was able to transcend at
- 1:04:33all. Yeah, I connect to the roots of
- 1:04:36things, you know? Like that the Deep Roots.
- 1:04:39Wow. That's that's profound.
- 1:04:40Exactly. Yeah.
- 1:04:41So that was a cool moment for me in my development that kind of
- 1:04:46stands out amongst all the stuff.
- 1:04:49I mean here's the thing. I I live my life where I allow
- 1:04:54the gods to throw things in my path.
- 1:04:58You know, hit, they'll throw stuff at me and I'll be able to
- 1:05:01look at it and decide whether or not to pick it up and work with
- 1:05:05it or just let it lie there and walk around it.
- 1:05:09So I like that. I like the fact that the gods
- 1:05:14are constantly challenging me and I can either choose to pick
- 1:05:18it up, or I can choose to leave the line and move on.
- 1:05:22And so, that's the way I live my life.
- 1:05:26I think it's an important thing to be reminded of because I
- 1:05:29don't think that that's too uncommon for, you know, a lot of
- 1:05:33us in the sense that, you know, the gods aren't here to tell us
- 1:05:37what to do. No, they're not sitting in
- 1:05:40Judgment of us. They're not telling us to do it
- 1:05:43or else, they could really care less, but if we're connected to
- 1:05:46them in a certain way and if we draw attention to ourselves
- 1:05:50through such practices, as you know, saved work or other such
- 1:05:54things that tap into the Sacred. There's almost like a like okay
- 1:06:00well then we'll why you're here man.
- 1:06:01You want to do this or you want to do that and it's a choice.
- 1:06:03We it's right. It's a choice that we have to
- 1:06:06make and the choice that we make is going to be determined on a
- 1:06:11lot of things, a lot of factors and what happens thereafter,
- 1:06:15right? So if I choose this x outcome
- 1:06:17will We'll play out right? And if I don't then it's going
- 1:06:21to happen a different way and it all goes back to write, like we
- 1:06:26shape weird. We are the Shapers of we have
- 1:06:29that capability. We literally do it day in and
- 1:06:31day out without even thinking about it.
- 1:06:33Absolutely, if we pick up that phone or answer that phone call
- 1:06:37or text message, right? It's a choice.
- 1:06:39We make to the very basics of things and we make that choice
- 1:06:43every moment. Yes, in every moment, as long as
- 1:06:46you're moving forward, You're making that choice each and
- 1:06:49every moment and that's for me where the life of Life happens.
- 1:06:56I'm using those Moment by moment choices that I build upon and so
- 1:07:02that's that's kind of where I am and where I, you know, stand
- 1:07:10work forward from. So yeah, I think we find
- 1:07:13ourselves in many positions are many instances where whether we
- 1:07:17look at It as you know, something that the gods give to
- 1:07:20us and maybe it's more. Maybe, maybe, the God's
- 1:07:23involvement is is again with more folks, who touched Who tie
- 1:07:28weird with the gods, because if we're, if we're doing our thing
- 1:07:31day-to-day, I think the gods could really care less in a way
- 1:07:34like it's our ancestors and the local spirits and those that are
- 1:07:37closely tied to is that are going to be influenced or have
- 1:07:41influence in our lives. But if we're of the typing of
- 1:07:44the Of the of the approach to wanna touch the sacred and go
- 1:07:49places and do things that are outside of the normal profane,
- 1:07:53existence and experience of humanity.
- 1:07:56You're going to, you're going to, you're going to knock on
- 1:07:58some doors, right? You're going to, you're going to
- 1:08:00ring some bells and people are things are going to notice, you,
- 1:08:03you're going to be noticed, right?
- 1:08:05And so for folks, like, yourself and others that touch on those
- 1:08:11planes and reach those areas, Well, you almost have a, an
- 1:08:19obligation in a way. I don't know how you would look
- 1:08:22at it but an obligation to be responsible and be informative
- 1:08:28about things, you know. Absolutely.
- 1:08:30And the responsibility comes in from again I'm going to talk
- 1:08:35about moving forward because there's a responsibility and
- 1:08:38moving forward. You have to take the
- 1:08:42responsibility to make the steps that are going to move.
- 1:08:46View forward. So the others all sorts of
- 1:08:50responsibilities that plays in and I think that something else
- 1:08:55I would like to say before we talk any more is that you know
- 1:08:59I'm no big checks, I'm really no big deal I guess I'm just a guy
- 1:09:05who did a lot of studying. Yes I did a lot of my homework
- 1:09:11and everybody has the capability to do what I do and And I wish
- 1:09:18they would. I say shake, shake yourself up
- 1:09:22and do what I do. It's exciting.
- 1:09:25What I do is exciting and thrilling and very much of the
- 1:09:29moment, so it's very excited. So yeah, then and the, you know,
- 1:09:34the humility and the recognition of that speaks volumes to.
- 1:09:38I've said it so many times Kurt. I mean, I get people that, you
- 1:09:42know, you're doing such great things, you know, really
- 1:09:44appreciate what you're doing, blabbity blah and like, It's,
- 1:09:47I'm just it's, you know, and it's funny how the name of this
- 1:09:49podcast is random. Heathen ramblings.
- 1:09:51I'm literally, just a random Heathen that that Rambles on,
- 1:09:54sometimes by myself for an hour, because I don't have guests.
- 1:09:57It's literally just my mind. Fire being thrown out to the
- 1:10:01world to, to think about, right? Consider some things are based
- 1:10:05on some things are based on historical fact, or so much as
- 1:10:10we know it is historical fact because I love history and I
- 1:10:14love knowing where things started from and I love To go
- 1:10:17back and look at those aspects of things.
- 1:10:19And there's there's things to be learned, but I'm also very
- 1:10:23active in the practicing old ways in modern times.
- 1:10:28So there's a contemporary value. I think that is inherent with a
- 1:10:32phrase like that, you know, you have to flex a bit and be
- 1:10:36flexible and to, in and be fluid to move along with the times.
- 1:10:44You know, I love the Nature of certain things, like going back
- 1:10:49to the way that I practice my day-to-day stuff.
- 1:10:53I've I've become very ritualistic in that.
- 1:10:55In that I'll take my, you know, I'll walk Barefoot in the earth
- 1:10:58and in the water and everything, and I ground myself and
- 1:11:01reconnect, to those Primal energies, the primordial forces
- 1:11:04that shaped the very world that we live in, and I'm saying, that
- 1:11:10way of touching on the past, or reconnecting to the roots in
- 1:11:13that way is phenomenal. It's so healing, it's so
- 1:11:20holistic, it's wonderful. I recommend it to, you know, you
- 1:11:23don't have to get really heady with it but like, man, just take
- 1:11:27your shoes off and walk around in the grass for 20 minutes.
- 1:11:29I guarantee you, however, you felt before you started doing
- 1:11:32it, you'll feel better after right guarantee, you'll feel
- 1:11:36better. Yeah, it's wild man.
- 1:11:39How it changes things for you. In the moment you could be
- 1:11:42having the worst day in your life.
- 1:11:44Just everything's going wrong for you.
- 1:11:46You know, you burnt your paw Tart, you know you spilled your
- 1:11:48coffee, whatever. I mean.
- 1:11:50And then you know, you walk around out in nature in the
- 1:11:53grass even just for, you know, 15, 20 minutes and you come back
- 1:11:56and you're like, wow, I don't really give a shit about that
- 1:11:59Pop-Tart anymore. So yeah.
- 1:12:05Well I think that for me moving forward comes comes in a couple
- 1:12:09of different ways because because I have this view point
- 1:12:13of moving forward, always I founded the Vicky.
- 1:12:16Evolve of forum on Facebook, which is a, which is a group, I
- 1:12:21found that that five years ago, it's already 5 years old.
- 1:12:25And so, I found it that and then, you know, I started this
- 1:12:28page are contemporary Vicki about my Vicki work.
- 1:12:32I and again, it's a matter of kind of the Gods, throw this
- 1:12:37stuff in front of me and I say yes or no.
- 1:12:40And these are things that I said.
- 1:12:41Yes, true. And I'm so excited that I did
- 1:12:44because that's about moving forward.
- 1:12:46Those Two things alone, keep me moving forward.
- 1:12:49So yeah. And either.
- 1:12:52Yeah, these are these are public forums, right?
- 1:12:55So, absolutely, you have to join, you know, the Vicki vote
- 1:13:00for form but you know it's three easy questions while I think
- 1:13:04there is a three questions for membership and you can join in
- 1:13:10the fun and it's really, it's really a good group for Vicky
- 1:13:15Volvo issues. So So drawing definitely,
- 1:13:19that'll be that'll be something that we you know folks listen
- 1:13:22and watching it's going to be annotated as well because II
- 1:13:26totally spaced on that and I apologize.
- 1:13:28But I forgot that the Vicki Volvo form is is your it's a
- 1:13:33dumpster baby. Yeah, I mean that that's all you
- 1:13:35can do and it's got don't know how many members are are now but
- 1:13:37there's all kinds of activity going on there.
- 1:13:40See, it's amazing, that's nuts, you know, 20 members, I was
- 1:13:48like, oh we've got 20 and now we've got two thousand so it's
- 1:13:52like one. Yeah, there's definitely an
- 1:13:54interest for it. I think in the overall
- 1:13:56population of the world because, you know, I'm assuming that your
- 1:14:01group has memberships from everywhere in midgar.
- 1:14:05It's not just the us, but all over the place.
- 1:14:08Absolutely. So it's a networking
- 1:14:10opportunity, you know, it's an opportunity for people who have
- 1:14:13questions to learn and have You know, make friends perhaps.
- 1:14:18It's a great opportunity. Yep.
- 1:14:20Yep. Yep.
- 1:14:22That'll all be in the, you know, description show notes.
- 1:14:25All of Kurt's information is going to be annotated here.
