- 1:05Speaker 4: Not the major.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Now we hit all the sports stuff whatever you want
- 1:09Speaker 2: to talk about.
- 1:10Speaker 5: We hit Monday night football, We hit Brian Kelly Better
- 1:15Speaker 5: have my money?
- 1:17Speaker 6: Yeah, we did weekend winters that you walked in on.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I want to make sure you know
- 1:23Speaker 2: I didn't want to be redundant.
- 1:24Speaker 4: And we make that's kids are gonna be YouTube star,
- 1:27Speaker 4: YouTube stars. Yeah everything we hit, subscribe, interact with.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Me, interact, go to the chat.
- 1:34Speaker 3: They're gonna be YouTube stars. Yea, yeah, what I miss that?
- 1:39Speaker 3: That's what they want to be. They want to be
- 1:40Speaker 3: influencers when they grow up. Oh yeah, because they watch YouTube.
- 1:42Speaker 3: And I was saying that they want to do YouTube
- 1:44Speaker 3: you know videos, when I said, well, no, lass it's
- 1:48Speaker 3: gonna be good and you're gonna have sixty million followers,
- 1:51Speaker 3: then do that like the kids you watch on TV. Yeah,
- 1:54Speaker 3: but you got a storyboard this idea for me, dude, Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 3: gotta go.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Okay, I like it like this. Oh well yeah, the
- 2:06Speaker 2: the Brian Kelly stuff. It's just not going away. Huh no. No,
- 2:11Speaker 2: still back on.
- 2:13Speaker 7: Kelly's Kelly's going away, just people don't want it to
- 2:18Speaker 7: m hm.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, there feels like both sides feel like they have something.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Like that that they got that they can get, you know,
- 2:28Speaker 3: either all their money if you're Brian Kelly hitside or
- 2:31Speaker 3: if you're LSU. They feel like maybe it sounds like
- 2:33Speaker 3: they feel like they got something that they That's what.
- 2:36Speaker 6: We were saying though, like what are you at the
- 2:38Speaker 6: out of nowhere.
- 2:39Speaker 2: On both sides, like they both feel confident about it.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It feels like a situation where it's like, hey, Brian Kelly,
- 2:46Speaker 2: we have the money, we owe you the money. You
- 2:49Speaker 2: want this money, but we really don't want to pay
- 2:53Speaker 2: you this money, so sue us for it, so spend
- 2:57Speaker 2: money to get this money. What It kind of feels
- 3:00Speaker 2: like we're just gonna make it hard for you to
- 3:02Speaker 2: get this money, so then you have to make a
- 3:04Speaker 2: settlement with us. I don't think that's what the spirit
- 3:09Speaker 2: of a contract is. But you know, there's a lot
- 3:13Speaker 2: of things we don't know.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Certainly because we don't know what we don't know, all
- 3:17Speaker 3: we can do is talk about.
- 3:19Speaker 2: How it feels when we read these articles and the
- 3:21Speaker 2: things that we hear. We put all of that together
- 3:25Speaker 2: and we give our opinions on it, and their opinions
- 3:27Speaker 2: not based on all the facts, probably, and that's probably
- 3:31Speaker 2: can be said for almost everything that we read in
- 3:35Speaker 2: an article or hear people tell us.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So you think Brian Kelly's gonna pull the I like money,
- 3:41Speaker 3: I have some, I'd like more, And that's where you
- 3:44Speaker 3: come in.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yep, exactly, Brian Kelly's gonna pull the I left a
- 3:48Speaker 2: job to take this job because of money. Yeah, so
- 3:51Speaker 2: now that you don't want me to do this job,
- 3:54Speaker 2: but do you still own money?
- 3:57Speaker 6: Like you owe me that?
- 3:58Speaker 5: And I like, as much as we did not enjoy
- 4:02Speaker 5: him as the coach, like, I cannot blame Brian Kelly.
- 4:05Speaker 6: For wanting his fifty more fifty four million dollars. I
- 4:07Speaker 6: really can't. And if you're saying that, you have cause,
- 4:10Speaker 6: and what is it.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Doing a bad job at coaches? Not cause it should be,
- 4:15Speaker 2: but it ain't. It should be.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Now like if we weren't good at this job, we
- 4:21Speaker 3: just we get fired and there would be.
- 4:23Speaker 4: No well fired, Well you're not any good, that's the
- 4:28Speaker 4: call said.
- 4:28Speaker 2: The ratings are down, and they could say, well the
- 4:30Speaker 2: winds are down.
- 4:31Speaker 3: You know, you know, working like nine hours a day
- 4:37Speaker 3: isn't cause instead of working like twelve hours a day.
- 4:40Speaker 3: It's fried upon, it's frown upon. Yeah, but it's not cost.
- 4:46Speaker 3: We need a graphic of the timeline since the fourth
- 4:53Speaker 3: quarter ended against Texas.
- 4:54Speaker 2: A and M.
- 4:55Speaker 5: You know what, I want to make a timeline up. No, no, no,
- 4:58Speaker 5: it started with Texas A and M. And it didn't
- 5:00Speaker 5: start this season. It started last season halftime where we
- 5:04Speaker 5: just got ran all over in the second half from
- 5:07Speaker 5: Texas A and M. And it just slowly and slowly
- 5:09Speaker 5: got worse and worse after that. And I mean, if
- 5:13Speaker 5: I got some free time, I'll start to make.
- 5:14Speaker 7: A little have a lot of straight free straight But
- 5:20Speaker 7: then you won three straight to in the season.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Now, it wasn't an M in Alabama.
- 5:26Speaker 7: It was Bandy, Oklahoma and Baylor, and you beat Clemson
- 5:32Speaker 7: in your own you're on cloud nine, like you're feeling
- 5:33Speaker 7: so good.
- 5:34Speaker 6: And then turns out Clemson's ass to a launcher sport.
- 5:38Speaker 3: And going back to that last game, it was I'll
- 5:41Speaker 3: never forget the feeling. So calling the game, it's halftime, boom,
- 5:44Speaker 3: all right, let's go get some coffee whatever, and all
- 5:48Speaker 3: the people that I know that cover A and M,
- 5:49Speaker 3: all of them, including our boy Billy Lucci, were like, well, great,
- 5:53Speaker 3: win a good job, like they they just yeah, given
- 5:58Speaker 3: over to the fact that Elish had won the game,
- 5:59Speaker 3: They're like, yep, that's my looks as advertised like, and
- 6:03Speaker 3: I just the look on their face like they lost
- 6:06Speaker 3: that game. And then all of a sudden, you get
- 6:10Speaker 3: bum rush. You lose that game starts to spiral. I mean,
- 6:13Speaker 3: same situation. You're up again at halftime against them, starts
- 6:18Speaker 3: to talk to people at halftime in the A and
- 6:19Speaker 3: M game, Man, Okay, well here we go, like nope, nope,
- 6:23Speaker 3: you gotta play four quarters in this game.
- 6:26Speaker 2: There's four of them. So yeah, that's seen.
- 6:28Speaker 3: The timeline of that would be pretty remarkable. But even
- 6:31Speaker 3: if you just did it from this Texas A and
- 6:33Speaker 3: M game to all the things that have happened. AD
- 6:35Speaker 3: not a d AD, not AD president whatever, we're not even.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Arre even we're not even done now. Well we we
- 6:44Speaker 2: reported it. We were the first to report it this day. Yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 2: today first one because with the morning show we get
- 6:48Speaker 2: to report breaking news here that November eleventh, Verge Osbury
- 6:53Speaker 2: is the athletic director. I know where you're about to
- 6:56Speaker 2: go breaking well.
- 6:57Speaker 4: I had to ask earlier because I was like, he's
- 6:59Speaker 4: been named AD twice, so just making sure it was legit.
- 7:03Speaker 2: That part, yeah, that part, Glad Verge is there.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yeah, thank goodness we had virgin place and goodness try
- 7:11Speaker 3: to shore up some things.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So we were saying, like, thank god we had him
- 7:15Speaker 2: in place, because who would taken the AD job after
- 7:18Speaker 2: the you know, after the whole political situation happened, kind
- 7:21Speaker 2: of got rid of a athletic director. Who's coming with
- 7:25Speaker 2: that baggage? I mean somebody, but not to somebody you want. Yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 2: somebody is obviously. So it's like, thank god the Verge
- 7:34Speaker 2: was here, a highly qualified person that deserves a job
- 7:37Speaker 2: and hopefully we would do a great job. If you're still.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Bickering and fighting with the head coach that's been let go,
- 7:50Speaker 3: we guess now officially.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know if like apparently Woodward
- 7:55Speaker 2: couldn't fire him, but he did fire him.
- 7:58Speaker 3: So you're not anywhere, you know, you know, anywhere close
- 8:01Speaker 3: to even maybe putting together the list of who potentially
- 8:05Speaker 3: could replace Brian Kelley and not to say that you
- 8:07Speaker 3: I mean on November the eleventh, you need that right now.
- 8:11Speaker 3: It could be hell, it could be January before you
- 8:14Speaker 3: actually do. It could be December, could be the end
- 8:17Speaker 3: of this month, depending on who you're hiring and where
- 8:21Speaker 3: their team is.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So the A D.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You told me this when you came, Like, AD cannot
- 8:30Speaker 3: fire without the approval the board. Yeah, the board's got
- 8:33Speaker 3: to be I mean, right, but is it kind of
- 8:37Speaker 3: understood that it's more of like a rubber stamp, like, yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 3: whatever you say, will just approve it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Like what's the job of the AD then at that point,
- 8:43Speaker 2: I mean, just to present the board with options? Is
- 8:46Speaker 2: that the job of the AD?
- 8:48Speaker 3: I mean you have a board for a reason though,
- 8:49Speaker 3: like the A the AD, right, but the AD can't
- 8:53Speaker 3: go just hire somebody. The board has to approve the contract.
- 8:59Speaker 3: So you have a board, you know, I mean, just
- 9:01Speaker 3: like any any business.
- 9:02Speaker 2: So they prove contract, proved the person of a CEO.
- 9:05Speaker 2: But the CEO has to go to the board. Do
- 9:06Speaker 2: they approve the contract, do they prove the person? Probably both.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I would assume more the contract than anything contract. Yeah,
- 9:16Speaker 2: then how does Woodward did the fall for it? If
- 9:19Speaker 2: the board has to prove everything, Look, you have so
- 9:23Speaker 2: the eight is going to go in talk to them.
- 9:24Speaker 3: If they were business guys, he's gonna talk to the
- 9:27Speaker 3: agent and you're going to come up and you're going
- 9:29Speaker 3: to come up with the number, and then the board.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Is going to I'm assuming they're gonna be like, okay,
- 9:37Speaker 2: well we're going to back our a d here. It's
- 9:38Speaker 2: got to be a rubber stamp situation where it's just like, yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 2: whatever you want to do, got it right.
- 9:42Speaker 3: But they could have the power to say that. Then
- 9:44Speaker 3: the board doesn't happen very often, No, but they could.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I mean that's why you always hear like any any assistant, coach,
- 9:52Speaker 3: any anything, it's like, well, as soon as he gets
- 9:55Speaker 3: approval from.
- 9:55Speaker 2: The board, it would be official. I don't know, it
- 9:59Speaker 2: seems weird to me. It's just like any I mean, no,
- 10:02Speaker 2: it makes sense.
- 10:02Speaker 6: But if we're going to put it all on Scott Woodward.
- 10:04Speaker 8: Then it doesn't really feel like it is like if
- 10:07Speaker 8: he had to go through the board to get that approved,
- 10:09Speaker 8: then somebody approved it, and we're putting all the blame
- 10:12Speaker 8: on him for giving a bad contract.
- 10:16Speaker 6: They fired him for that.
- 10:19Speaker 2: That they did, Derek, that they did. This is fun.
- 10:23Speaker 2: This is weird. I feel like this is not the
- 10:26Speaker 2: way it should work.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Well, I said, we were talking about it and during
- 10:30Speaker 6: the break. I haven't heard anything out of Penn State.
- 10:32Speaker 6: I haven't heard anything out of Florida. Hugh Freeze was
- 10:35Speaker 6: the coach at Auburn. Haven't heard anything out of them.
- 10:37Speaker 4: I mean, they don't have dirt on Hugh.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Come on, can you talk about what fifteen million to
- 10:46Speaker 2: fifty four million I was? I said in the first hour,
- 10:55Speaker 2: you didn't have a plan. You've made the plan up.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I don't want to see Brian Kelly's name in another
- 11:02Speaker 3: article this season. Pay the man is money, Shut up
- 11:06Speaker 3: about it and move.
- 11:08Speaker 2: On to me.
- 11:10Speaker 6: It sounds like he's still the head coach.
- 11:13Speaker 2: We're back, but you have a head coach again. Did
- 11:15Speaker 2: the board to prove Frank Wilson as.
- 11:17Speaker 5: Interim Scott Woodward didn't have the authority to fire.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Did they approve the game plan? I think you just
- 11:24Speaker 2: have to have I mean, if I'm wrong, somebody let
- 11:28Speaker 2: me know. I just believe it's.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Hey, we'll back you if you want to fire any like,
- 11:32Speaker 3: we got to figure this out. We'll vote on you
- 11:35Speaker 3: know whatever. I mean, that's why you have a board,
- 11:37Speaker 3: and you have a lot of.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Times it's like, I get it. Financially you need to
- 11:41Speaker 2: get things approved by a board in business, but you
- 11:44Speaker 2: usually don't have to have approval to fire somebody. I
- 11:48Speaker 2: guess when it's fifty four million dollars, that money was
- 11:50Speaker 2: going to him anyway if he stayed or not. Right. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:53Speaker 2: because four million dollars, you just it's gonna get paid
- 11:57Speaker 2: like through then a few seasons. It's not like he
- 12:01Speaker 2: was just a gifted Yeah. I don't know. It just
- 12:05Speaker 2: feels like that. You know, somebody's gotta do the job.
- 12:11Speaker 2: If he's gonna get blamed for it and fired by
- 12:13Speaker 2: the governor, then let him do his job, either whether
- 12:21Speaker 2: it doesn't good or bad. Oh that's you. That's you.
- 12:31Speaker 6: Big game, big robbery game.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Coming.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 12:37Speaker 7: They're gonna have to dust off that golden boot and
- 12:39Speaker 7: roll it onto the sidelines.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Throw the l's up, let's go. Hey. One thing I
- 12:48Speaker 2: hope goes away now that Brian Kelly is gone is
- 12:51Speaker 2: the backwards L in pictures. I hope this never sees
- 12:55Speaker 2: the light of day again.
- 12:56Speaker 7: The backwards zel is bad. But would you rather it
- 12:59Speaker 7: just be back? I would just rather just it's not
- 13:02Speaker 7: not ever a thing until what Yeah, I would rather
- 13:06Speaker 7: be backwards absolutely. Instead of doing this.
- 13:09Speaker 2: In pictures bother It's always bothering. It's bothered me so bad.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I hate it. And also a couple of other things.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I started doing it in pictures just to send the
- 13:16Speaker 2: mat yep. Backwards L bothered me. The dancing with recruits
- 13:21Speaker 2: bothered me. And then putting recruits in a toy box
- 13:23Speaker 2: when they commit or signed with L s U. That
- 13:26Speaker 2: bothered me as well. Keep the kids out the toy box.
- 13:29Speaker 2: It's a real box. Keep them out of the toy box.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I've seen it. That was fireable.
- 13:34Speaker 7: They're getting in like a sleep chamber, hyperbaric toy box.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Hey, get in here real quick. We got to get
- 13:40Speaker 4: a picture.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Hey, you know what, hold something with your right hand,
- 13:43Speaker 2: so you have to throw your L up with your
- 13:44Speaker 2: left hand, but turn your shoulder inwards, so it flips.
- 13:47Speaker 2: I feel like, how long has the L been around? Though?
- 13:49Speaker 7: I feel like the L's been around for a while
- 13:51Speaker 7: since Doug Plantard.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Do you think so?
- 13:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, there was like two or three people that
- 13:56Speaker 3: threw the l's up when we were in school.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Yeah, usually by holding the old and boot.
- 14:03Speaker 3: All right, shout out, Doug, dang Alex telling me to
- 14:10Speaker 3: go back home. What did you do? How are you
- 14:14Speaker 3: feeling all right? You've been a little sick, yeah, the
- 14:17Speaker 3: last couple of days. And then the fam you know kids,
- 14:22Speaker 3: you know, I go to school.
- 14:24Speaker 2: It's like a cesspool. They bring it all back home.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Steve wants to know if I still want to be
- 14:29Speaker 3: on the committee, probably because of all the man Yeah,
- 14:32Speaker 3: I still do, of course I do. I want to
- 14:34Speaker 3: make sure try to help make sure it gets to
- 14:37Speaker 3: a good situation. I've got thoughts. I've got profiles on
- 14:42Speaker 3: coaches ready to go. I got like seven, bro, you
- 14:44Speaker 3: don't own a big enough company. Yeah no, no, No
- 14:53Speaker 3: percentage of the big company I think is the problem.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I've got like profiles on like seven guys. I'm ready.
- 14:59Speaker 2: I'm ready.
- 15:00Speaker 3: You don't run you don't run enough company to be
- 15:02Speaker 3: on that pick a head coach.
- 15:04Speaker 2: As soon as they asked me?
- 15:05Speaker 7: Or is Jake too much of a football game? Too
- 15:08Speaker 7: much about he's he can wait too actually waited too much?
- 15:12Speaker 2: He knows the names of coaches?
- 15:14Speaker 5: Uh, he really does. This just triggered a memory in
- 15:20Speaker 5: my head. Yesterday it came out that Lane Kiffin is
- 15:24Speaker 5: the betting favorite to go to the New York Giants.
- 15:27Speaker 5: So I don't get how he's supposed to coach for
- 15:30Speaker 5: college teams.
- 15:31Speaker 3: And an NFL you at least minimum, right, and.
- 15:35Speaker 5: An NFL team, But so whenever the Giants played the Saints,
- 15:41Speaker 5: I went to that game, Lane Kiffin was also there,
- 15:45Speaker 5: So I'm like, how long have they been plotting this?
- 15:47Speaker 5: And maybe just maybe you're talking about it at that game,
- 15:52Speaker 5: but I don't know.
- 15:56Speaker 2: That.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Actually would be really fun.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Speculating about Lane Kiff and is he gonna say? Why
- 16:00Speaker 2: would he leave All miss Why wouldn't he take the
- 16:03Speaker 2: l Sue job? Watch this Watch New York. I got
- 16:09Speaker 2: a quarterback that's the meat head's gonna get nine concussions
- 16:11Speaker 2: every season and the running back to oh, I got
- 16:15Speaker 2: one of the best receivers in the country.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Team, I mean, they got a pretty win. The right,
- 16:21Speaker 4: that could be good. Yeah, I like it.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I wonder what I wonder what odds are the best
- 16:28Speaker 2: whether that so he's odds on favorite Florida I think
- 16:34Speaker 2: I think it was one one for Giants.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I don't know how y'all feel, but like Lank Kiff
- 16:39Speaker 3: and obviously he's one of the best play callers in football,
- 16:42Speaker 3: and I think he do well.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I think you do well here. I think you do well.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Florida is doing well at Old Miss. So this isn't
- 16:49Speaker 3: any slight at Lank because I think he'd be great.
- 16:53Speaker 3: But when somebody like that, that like all these people want,
- 16:56Speaker 3: and you're gonna have to convince him again to come
- 16:58Speaker 3: to your spot. I don't want anybody that I've got
- 17:00Speaker 3: to convince to come to LSU this time.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I want somebody that's like I want there.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Please you offer me. I will walk to Baton Rouge
- 17:09Speaker 3: if I have to get there.
- 17:10Speaker 2: And I'm not going to take this offer and bring
- 17:13Speaker 2: it to my current school, right, I'm not going to
- 17:16Speaker 2: take that. You're offering me to come coach LSU. Whose
- 17:20Speaker 2: car are we taking? Let's go. That's what LSU needs.
- 17:26Speaker 3: In my opinion, they don't like and I'm not saying
- 17:29Speaker 3: that if you had to convince that coach, they wouldn't
- 17:31Speaker 3: want to be here. But if you have to convince somebody,
- 17:33Speaker 3: that means there's also a place in their mind that
- 17:36Speaker 3: they would be okay not coming to coach LSU. And
- 17:40Speaker 3: that's the thing you would have to convince them on
- 17:42Speaker 3: is to get rid of whatever that other thought is.
- 17:45Speaker 2: To come to LSU. I don't want that this time.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I want a guy that when you call and say
- 17:53Speaker 3: I'm offering you to be the head coach at Louisiana
- 17:55Speaker 3: State University, he didn't even hang up the phone because
- 17:58Speaker 3: he's like, I'm here on boom like a cartoon.
- 18:03Speaker 2: The thing that pisses me off so much about everything
- 18:05Speaker 2: that's the situation around it is because somebody brings up
- 18:08Speaker 2: in the chat. It's like, what what makes LSU so
- 18:10Speaker 2: desirable right at this second? Because of all the madness
- 18:13Speaker 2: that has happened around around the administration all? Like I said,
- 18:17Speaker 2: thank god ViRGE was here because ad job wasn't very
- 18:20Speaker 2: desirable at least right this second. And I get it.
- 18:25Speaker 3: You have to you have to find a way from
- 18:26Speaker 3: administration to make things a little bit better, clear yourself
- 18:30Speaker 3: from it, make it a football only thing, So like
- 18:33Speaker 3: what makes a desirable LSU.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Of course a top a top three football job, but
- 18:37Speaker 2: I get it, there's so much mess around it. And
- 18:40Speaker 2: now you're talking about sueing a coach to not pay them,
- 18:42Speaker 2: sue a former coach to not pay them. That makes
- 18:44Speaker 2: it less desirable, certainly. So you better be painting a
- 18:47Speaker 2: real nice picture to whoever you're going again or going after,
- 18:51Speaker 2: because I agree, I mean everything. Why leave something stable
- 18:55Speaker 2: to take something messy right now, even if it is
- 18:57Speaker 2: the LSU, that's a sad thing to say, for that
- 19:00Speaker 2: to even be a thought. And if that is the case,
- 19:03Speaker 2: and if that's going through creeping up in any whether
- 19:05Speaker 2: it's Lane Kiffin, whether it's drink, what's whether whoever you're
- 19:09Speaker 2: going after, even if that's even a thought in their brain,
- 19:12Speaker 2: a deterrent to take the LSU job. You've done this university,
- 19:16Speaker 2: at this service.
- 19:19Speaker 6: It's a lot, Jeff.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Anyway, all right, I know we've got to take a break.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Kissed me off so much I'm bad. No, I get
- 19:31Speaker 2: it though. I think that's what I think everybody's thinking
- 19:33Speaker 2: the same thing, right, we all are, And maybe what
- 19:36Speaker 2: we're saying is off base, because we don't know all
- 19:38Speaker 2: the facts. We just know what we what we know,
- 19:41Speaker 2: and I know that's not it, that's not all of it.
- 19:44Speaker 2: All right, we're looking for a break. We'll take it. Obviously,
- 19:46Speaker 2: we'll find our way back to this conversation.
- 19:48Speaker 3: But before we do, remind you about Get Gordon Gordon

- 20:39Speaker 1: off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 20:50Speaker 2: On dude. All right, welcome back here to OTV Live.
- 21:03Speaker 3: From the Raising Kines studio. It's aggressive typing over there, Budd,
- 21:16Speaker 3: gotta make sure your computer hate nose asdf jk L
- 21:22Speaker 3: simme Colin Way what home keys, Bud?
- 21:26Speaker 2: It was the home keys. Oh I never took typing.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Oh we got a little we had of poll in
- 21:31Speaker 2: the chat earlier. Does Brian Dayball deserve a eulogy today?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Sixty one percent say yes, Thirty nine percent say no,
- 21:40Speaker 2: which surprisingly high amount of none.
- 21:42Speaker 6: That is surprisingly high amount of No's.
- 21:44Speaker 2: A lot of people, I guess just don't care NFL.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Thirty nine percent people eulogies.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Thirty people hate the eulogies.
- 21:52Speaker 6: He do you think it's just Brian Table Maybe.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Brian Kelly made a lot of burner accounts.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Could have been, could have been. It's possible.
- 22:03Speaker 2: So I will because this is a democracy. I will
- 22:08Speaker 2: do a eulogy for Brian day Ball later on the show,
- 22:10Speaker 2: but I will only do it at sixty one enthusiasm
- 22:16Speaker 2: out of respect for the thirtys.
- 22:20Speaker 1: No.
- 22:20Speaker 2: You need to, Okay, I go on, thank you, and.
- 22:24Speaker 4: You drive a tough bargain. It takes a lot of
- 22:26Speaker 4: convincing you.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm tough. Did y'all see that?
- 22:34Speaker 3: UCLA is trying to move away from the Rose bul No,
- 22:37Speaker 3: I didn't see.
- 22:38Speaker 2: That, but it's I don't know, it might be a
- 22:41Speaker 2: good idea, try to play it so Far.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Oh wait, I did see that stadium.
- 22:46Speaker 4: You've probably been to it. From what I hear. It's
- 22:48Speaker 4: not super close like to their campus.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Well, I mean, wait, the Rose Bull or so Far,
- 22:53Speaker 2: neither one of them is. Neither stadiums close.
- 22:56Speaker 4: I didn't know where so Far was, but I had
- 22:58Speaker 4: always heard that way. Getting of the Rose wasn't the easiest.
- 23:01Speaker 3: No, it's like in a neighborhood and it's incredibly hard
- 23:04Speaker 3: to get in and out of. And a great scene obviously,
- 23:09Speaker 3: But I mean you see LA, Like, what do y'all have?
- 23:13Speaker 3: Like what program? Yeah they got they got Jerry New
- 23:19Speaker 3: feel like they should just build their own. Tighten it
- 23:22Speaker 3: up a little bit, Yeah, maybe tighten it Yeah, I
- 23:24Speaker 3: mean they use people for all sorts of dumb things.
- 23:27Speaker 3: In California, twenty five thousand seat stadium. Yeah, who recently
- 23:32Speaker 3: did that?
- 23:34Speaker 2: Uh? San Diego State built a brand new stadium.
- 23:37Speaker 3: They tore down the Q nasty where I played, and
- 23:40Speaker 3: they built like snap Dragon Stadium.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's actually really nice too, it's.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Like a soccer basically stadium, you know, yeah, just Southwestern.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Vandy's got a small one. That's nice. Yeah, they renovated that.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Did lane do that? Two lane is great?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Was great.
- 24:02Speaker 6: Vandy. I don't know about two lanes, but Vandy's is not.
- 24:07Speaker 5: It felt like I was at a high school football
- 24:09Speaker 5: game in Texas.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, because we're so but like the end
- 24:13Speaker 3: zones are kind of cool unique, I guess, like you.
- 24:17Speaker 5: Know, the and the air tonight thing they did.
- 24:19Speaker 6: It was cool, but.
- 24:21Speaker 3: You could tell like it's they got like brand new
- 24:24Speaker 3: on each end and then old alf like on the sides.
- 24:28Speaker 3: But you know, that's what you got to do. But
- 24:30Speaker 3: you know, hey, at least got something because when Flynn
- 24:33Speaker 3: and I played there, you could see straight from the
- 24:35Speaker 3: football field to the street fair enough.
- 24:38Speaker 2: There was no stands in one of the end zones.
- 24:40Speaker 3: There was like some tints that they went and got
- 24:42Speaker 3: an academy and like set in the end.
- 24:44Speaker 6: Zone and everything was like in one area.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Like the baseball stadium was like right across.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's there's not a lot of room there. In Nashville.
- 24:55Speaker 4: You get you get in a home run in Vandy
- 24:56Speaker 4: Stadium and make it into the football stadium.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Uh.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Blair was telling me like all the time, like foul
- 25:03Speaker 3: balls will lay in the base our football stadium. M.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like it's literally right there. So I don't know.
- 25:10Speaker 3: If u c LA didn't have the Rose Bowl, you
- 25:12Speaker 3: don't have that, you don't have a coach. You're also
- 25:16Speaker 3: the other team in l Ah.
- 25:22Speaker 2: There.
- 25:22Speaker 3: They got Jeoffrey, but maybe not if you hire a
- 25:28Speaker 3: new head coach and he doesn't want to keep Jerry.
- 25:31Speaker 2: What if they just make Jerry head coach, you could
- 25:34Speaker 2: do it.
- 25:36Speaker 4: I mean they're low down on the pecking order in
- 25:37Speaker 4: terms of like I would think, like desirability, why not
- 25:42Speaker 4: give him a shot.
- 25:43Speaker 2: They got good uniforms, always have, always have gold face masks,
- 25:50Speaker 2: pretty nice.
- 25:54Speaker 3: There are so many there's so many jobs that are open,
- 25:59Speaker 3: and there's so many big jobs that are open. Somebody's
- 26:03Speaker 3: gonna get a really bad coach. Somebody's getting stuck with
- 26:06Speaker 3: the bad coach for sure. And there's gonna be a
- 26:09Speaker 3: lot more jobs in college, and there's gonna be a
- 26:11Speaker 3: lot more jobs in the NFL. You're gonna have college
- 26:14Speaker 3: coaches go to the NFL. You're gonna have NFL coaches
- 26:17Speaker 3: go to college. But you're right, multiple people are gonna
- 26:20Speaker 3: get stuck in a bad situation.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Like if you're Oklahoma State right now, who pull you fishing?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Like, yeah, who do you think you're going to go
- 26:31Speaker 3: get right now? That can change your program? You're horrid?
- 26:35Speaker 2: What do you want? Since you fired Gundy?
- 26:37Speaker 4: By the way, what's your goal? Like if you if
- 26:41Speaker 4: your goal is to hey can we score points and
- 26:43Speaker 4: get some excitement? I'm calling Eric Morris from North Texas
- 26:47Speaker 4: right now and hiring him.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Yeah, but like even that, and I agree, I think
- 26:54Speaker 3: he's a really good coach. There's only like so many
- 26:58Speaker 3: of those guys, right. Just think about this, even at
- 27:01Speaker 3: the big schools. Yeah, a lot of schools are gonna
- 27:03Speaker 3: end up with really bad head coaches. There's gonna be
- 27:07Speaker 3: a lot of big schools that are gonna end up
- 27:08Speaker 3: with really first time or bad coordinators.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because a lot of coordinators canna be taking jobs
- 27:14Speaker 2: like Oklahoma State coordinators gonna be taking jobs like North Texas.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Just in your if the North Texas head coach goes
- 27:20Speaker 2: somewhere else, they're gonna be taking There's gonna be a
- 27:22Speaker 2: lot of first time head coaches that are coordinators and
- 27:25Speaker 2: big colleges having to replace those guys. So there's gonna
- 27:30Speaker 2: be a lot of people's careers and resumes getting a
- 27:33Speaker 2: lot better after the season.
- 27:36Speaker 3: There's only so many right fits for coaches that can
- 27:40Speaker 3: go around, and that's you know, when you have this
- 27:43Speaker 3: many and you have this many high profile Like we're
- 27:46Speaker 3: talking about proud programs, not just Penn State, Florida and LSU.
- 27:49Speaker 2: I mean, we're talking about.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Virginia Tech, who's very proud program. You know, Arkansas is open,
- 27:55Speaker 3: Oklahoma State and like all these jobs alburn like somebody's
- 28:01Speaker 3: getting a back coach and somebody's gonna be paying a
- 28:03Speaker 3: buyout in in three years time, no doubt.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Mm hmmm. Jimmy Sexton. Just what's that name of that guy? Birdman?
- 28:15Speaker 2: That that guy, it's Birdman Man.
- 28:20Speaker 3: I forgot you're from Louisiana. I like that bird You
- 28:26Speaker 3: know who Birdman is. It's good, pretty good.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Oh No, I don't know what you're trying to do.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Yeah, you're all right, though, whoever said it earlier, Like
- 28:37Speaker 3: we haven't heard anything really out of Penn State, Florida, Arkansas?
- 28:40Speaker 2: Whoever said that? Yeah, you're right, Junior sextet. Nothing you
- 28:43Speaker 2: haven't heard anything quiet.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Haven't seen any governors on TV?
- 28:46Speaker 2: I'm usually right, No, we haven't seen any governors.
- 28:50Speaker 5: Not even not even Ronda Santas, who is like the
- 28:53Speaker 5: most out there governor.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Tweets a lot.
- 29:00Speaker 6: So all right, two QB system.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Next, Matt loves a QB system. It's really hard when
- 29:13Speaker 2: you're the only quarterback plane to get in a rhythm.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I like to switch it up. What about it there was?
- 29:22Speaker 2: We should probably just talk about that when come back
- 29:24Speaker 2: to break.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, all right, yeah, two QB system when we
- 29:30Speaker 3: come back.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Matt's favorite topic.

- 32:01Speaker 3: Trash Rangers back on.
- 32:04Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:05Speaker 3: One of Matt Flynn's favorite things to talk about is
- 32:08Speaker 3: a two quarterback system. He used to love, and I
- 32:11Speaker 3: mean love when he was in the game and then
- 32:14Speaker 3: here comes another quarterback trying out there to uh to
- 32:18Speaker 3: run a special ball play.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Favorite time of a game. So Matt, I'll let you
- 32:24Speaker 2: start this conversation.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Well, everybody on the team has a you know, the
- 32:27Speaker 3: opportunity to tap the top of their head, get a
- 32:30Speaker 3: little breather, come out of the game for a little bit,
- 32:32Speaker 3: except the quarterback. When I was playing, There's nothing more
- 32:40Speaker 3: that can get a quarterback out of rhythm, out of sync,
- 32:46Speaker 3: then having to sit on the sideline. Even still, you
- 32:49Speaker 3: still see it sometimes with I think we did a
- 32:51Speaker 3: did we do a wild cat this year where Nuss
- 32:54Speaker 3: kind of came off the field to do it?
- 32:55Speaker 2: Or was that the Saints?
- 32:57Speaker 3: I can't remember, No, because the one wild cat that
- 33:00Speaker 3: LSU did, they did it from the six yard line
- 33:03Speaker 3: on third and six.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and he scooted over, scooted over at the
- 33:07Speaker 2: that's true.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Uh So.
- 33:08Speaker 2: The quarterback is a rhythm sport. It's just like anything.
- 33:11Speaker 2: It's like taking a picture out for a couple of
- 33:12Speaker 2: pitches and putting them back in. In baseball, you don't
- 33:15Speaker 2: see that. That didn't happen. Obviously we can't do it.
- 33:17Speaker 2: The rules wouldn't allow it. But it's the same mindset.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Like you.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You get in a rhythm. You see the field, you're
- 33:22Speaker 2: in the zone. You're the guy that calls the play,
- 33:24Speaker 2: the guys that call a snap count. You are the
- 33:26Speaker 2: engine that makes the whole vehicle go. And to be
- 33:30Speaker 2: taken out of that position, taking off the field is
- 33:33Speaker 2: it's tough to do. Now, it's not impossible. We've seen
- 33:36Speaker 2: successful dual quarterback systems before. University of Florida had it
- 33:39Speaker 2: and what six Chris Leek and Tibo Yeah, and then
- 33:43Speaker 2: O seven Parallel would come in and do something. There's
- 33:45Speaker 2: some really nice things, especially that Florida game, a lot
- 33:48Speaker 2: of you know, some third down packages, goal on packages,
- 33:50Speaker 2: things like that. And I'm not saying that it was
- 33:52Speaker 2: a bad thing, but it certainly didn't doesn't help a
- 33:56Speaker 2: quarterback in staying within that rhythm of a game. And
- 33:59Speaker 2: we all always talk about that air quote quote unquote
- 34:02Speaker 2: like the zone when quarterbacks feel it and the and
- 34:06Speaker 2: it's kind of an unexplainable what that really is, what
- 34:09Speaker 2: that really means. I think athletes will know what it
- 34:11Speaker 2: feels like to be in a zone, whether it's playing golf,
- 34:14Speaker 2: whether it's playing you know, throwing darts, whether it's whatever
- 34:17Speaker 2: you're doing Tidley winks that's right, horse shoes and hand grenades,
- 34:21Speaker 2: whatever it is, y'all understand, y'all get it, y'all know
- 34:24Speaker 2: what that feels like. And at the quarterback position, I
- 34:26Speaker 2: kind of I always explain it like this, like you
- 34:29Speaker 2: get into the rhythm of the game, the flow of
- 34:31Speaker 2: the game.
- 34:31Speaker 3: You can feel the ebbs and flows, the ups and downs.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Sometimes you got to push the ball, sometimes you got
- 34:37Speaker 3: to pull back a little bit. There's different and you
- 34:39Speaker 3: feel all that when you're in the game. Also, like
- 34:42Speaker 3: there's a there's a certain vision that comes with it,
- 34:45Speaker 3: like if you play Madden or NCAA football, like you
- 34:48Speaker 3: understand like they do a lot with the crowd noise
- 34:50Speaker 3: now where like if it's a tight situation, like the
- 34:54Speaker 3: field vision narrows, like you don't see all the buttons.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Like it's harder to play. Well, that's the case in
- 34:59Speaker 2: real life because it's trying to simulate that. So if
- 35:01Speaker 2: you're a young quarterback, that's why young quarterbacks struggle sometimes.
- 35:04Speaker 2: If you are your vision is a lot narrower than
- 35:09Speaker 2: it usually is, Like you kind of have tunnel vision.
- 35:11Speaker 2: That's why people say they can't get through their reads. Well,
- 35:13Speaker 2: it's really hard to do when you got people bearing
- 35:16Speaker 2: down on you. You haven't played a lot, you're fresh
- 35:19Speaker 2: in the fresh into the game. And then let's just
- 35:23Speaker 2: say you can see it's a fifty three yard wide field,
- 35:26Speaker 2: Like you got this tunnel vision where you can clearly
- 35:28Speaker 2: see twenty yards of the field complete, a pass that
- 35:32Speaker 2: scoots out a little bit about twenty two complete, a
- 35:35Speaker 2: pass that was twenty five complete, another pass year in
- 35:37Speaker 2: the rhythmic game, they having six success. Now I can
- 35:39Speaker 2: see thirty five yards. And then eventually you get quarterbacks
- 35:42Speaker 2: that you say, man, this guy's just in the zone.
- 35:45Speaker 2: That means he's seeing all fifty three yards of the field.
- 35:47Speaker 2: He's seeing everything that has happened in top to bottom,
- 35:50Speaker 2: he's seeing underfronts overfront, he's seeing Sam on the ball,
- 35:53Speaker 2: he's seeing hand signals from the mic linebacker to the safety,
- 35:56Speaker 2: safety to the corner corner to the nickel. You can
- 35:59Speaker 2: you can see everything, you can hear everything. Everything slows down.
- 36:03Speaker 2: And it's hard to explain to somebody that's never felt that,
- 36:05Speaker 2: but people have felt that in different things in life.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Like you're just hyper concentrated, and that's what it is.
- 36:12Speaker 2: That's what happens when you're tight and playing tight, playing
- 36:15Speaker 2: under pressure, playing like I can't make a mistake. That
- 36:21Speaker 2: that vision narrows th one interception, that vision narrows a
- 36:24Speaker 2: little bit. Back now, the great quarterbacks, that vision widens
- 36:28Speaker 2: and you see the whole field faster than others. Sometimes
- 36:30Speaker 2: it's slower, though not quarterbacks that are new, quarterbacks that
- 36:34Speaker 2: are young, not a lot of experience on the road
- 36:38Speaker 2: at a way environment, that vision is very tight. Yeah,
- 36:42Speaker 2: that's kind of how I always explain it to people,
- 36:44Speaker 2: and that's a really basic way to explain it. But
- 36:47Speaker 2: I think it gets the point across that getting into
- 36:51Speaker 2: the rhythm is a huge thing and a huge advantage
- 36:53Speaker 2: for a quarterback or any position. And when you change
- 36:58Speaker 2: that up and you do like a two quarterback system.
- 37:00Speaker 2: When you take a quarterback.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Out on a third down or a fourth down or
- 37:03Speaker 3: a big play, that vision narrows and you kind of
- 37:07Speaker 3: get you out of that rhythm.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Now, some quarterbacks are better at it to get out
- 37:10Speaker 2: of it. But yeah, that's just like a little basic
- 37:14Speaker 2: explanation of what I believe the zone means for a quarterback.
- 37:20Speaker 2: So for you, you would rather.
- 37:23Speaker 3: You would just have one guy come in and if
- 37:26Speaker 3: that guy can't get it done, then he gets replaced.
- 37:29Speaker 3: So you'd rather see more like we saw in Tuscaloosa
- 37:32Speaker 3: than you know, Hey, you get two series, and you're
- 37:35Speaker 3: gonna get a series, and you get two more and
- 37:36Speaker 3: you get two And I did.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And I listened to Frank Talk yesterday and I didn't
- 37:41Speaker 2: hear anything that said that there's going to be a
- 37:43Speaker 2: two quarterback system.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Now.
- 37:44Speaker 3: He said both quarterbacks would play. I believe, I believe
- 37:47Speaker 3: that's the right. I don't want to miss quote anything,
- 37:49Speaker 3: but he said, and this is going to take the
- 37:50Speaker 3: first reps, but both quarterbacks are going to play. There's
- 37:53Speaker 3: a plan in place for them. What does that look like?
- 37:56Speaker 3: How does that operate? I think it's better to do.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Like if you want to get vam Bura in the
- 38:02Speaker 3: ball and get him, get him some time in there.
- 38:04Speaker 2: I believe a series situation, a series in series out
- 38:09Speaker 2: or Garrett gets three series, vam Buren gets one series.
- 38:12Speaker 2: How over that looks, or maybe Frank's just playing on
- 38:14Speaker 2: blowing him out and he know Van Buren's gonna play
- 38:16Speaker 2: the fourth quarter. I don't know, like that's it could
- 38:18Speaker 2: be a lot of different things. But I don't like
- 38:20Speaker 2: to see and I'm not saying this that that this
- 38:22Speaker 2: can't be successful. I don't want to see van Buren
- 38:25Speaker 2: come in if it's third and eight plus, because he
- 38:29Speaker 2: gives you the option, you know, a little bit more
- 38:31Speaker 2: of an option with his with his legs to scramble. Yeah,
- 38:33Speaker 2: like if there's a package in place a third and short,
- 38:36Speaker 2: or there's there's ways to do it where it's okay
- 38:40Speaker 2: and he doesn't really screw up the rhythm. I just
- 38:43Speaker 2: want there to be like a good, clean, crisp plan
- 38:46Speaker 2: that makes sense, that helps elevate both quarterbacks instead of
- 38:50Speaker 2: bringing him back down a little bit. Because it's hard.
- 38:52Speaker 3: It's hard to switch, it's hard to give up reps
- 38:55Speaker 3: as a quarterback and stay in that rhythm and that
- 38:57Speaker 3: doesn't help them play better. Sally like nuts like you're
- 39:01Speaker 3: trying to get him back to where he was he
- 39:03Speaker 3: used to see all fifty three. He's seeing a third
- 39:07Speaker 3: right now, right, it's just happened. It's just not clicking
- 39:10Speaker 3: for him. Yeah, because he's pressing, pressing. They haven't had
- 39:12Speaker 3: a lot of Success's gonna be my last vision from Garrett.
- 39:15Speaker 3: They're a narrow narrative. It's not gonna help him to
- 39:17Speaker 3: throw another guy in there. That's gonna be My question
- 39:19Speaker 3: is when you know that you might be one bad
- 39:23Speaker 3: throwaway from getting replaced, how difficult is that to not
- 39:28Speaker 3: press because you feel like you gotta be perfect.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and you just gotta have that dog and that
- 39:42Speaker 2: ja in you like came the third. All right, we'll
- 39:51Speaker 2: take a break.
- 39:52Speaker 3: We got Nick Underhill New one stuff football joining us
- 39:54Speaker 3: in about fifteen minutes from now. It's gonna get that
