- Forged In The Dark: You are the creator of your own reality. Whether you are happy with where you are or not, you are the creator of your own reality, your own experience. Every single thing you say, do, think, feel, and consume matters. Welcome to Forged in the Dark. I'm your host, Jamie. Let's dig in. Okay, I am going to start with a story today because I love soup and not many people know just how much I love soup. I love that it's warm and cozy and comforting, and I love that I can take a soup recipe and make it healthier. I can change the ingredients just slightly. But my love for soup, it runs deep. There is always homemade soup in my freezer. And now I have a soup buddy. Now my friend Paula and I have discovered that not only do we both love soup, but we love the Texacan Cafe's tortilla soup. And what that has turned into is a soup date and a support date. Now, seriously, think about this. I am the creator of my own reality. I love soup and spend so much time thinking about and eating soup that I created soup and support in the spirit of being the creator of your own reality. Are you following me? But this this whole concept of being the creator of your own reality. It it it's it's deep, it goes deep into your nervous system, deep into your belief system, deep into the subconscious mind. And neuroscience backs me up here. Every single thing you say, do, think, and feel matters. Every single thing you consume, body, mind, and soul matters. What you believe you become, what you think repeatedly over and over and over, you believe. Do you see how this works? If you have an experience in your life. that you are not happy about. At some point, you held a belief, and that belief came into your reality. And if you want a different reality, of course, you have to make different choices. Of course, you have to do the work to retrain your belief system. But just because you are experiencing something that you don't like, it doesn't mean that you didn't create it. And I don't want any of you to feel like I'm picking on you. I don't want any of you to feel like I am calling you out for something that wasn't your fault. Believe me. I am the queen of surviving things that I never deserved. But I will never say that I didn't create them. My current self is creating such beautiful, magical experiences. I will never doubt that we are the creators. And when there is an experience in my life that I don't like, that I don't want, I have no choice but to look at myself and to look at my belief system, to look at the stories and know that there is something there in my belief system that is still active enough to bring that situation to me. So let's talk about, let's talk a little bit more about what you consume, body, mind, and soul, and how that contributes to your reality. Think about the music that you listen to. Think about the lyrics. What are the songs that you listen to all the time saying to you? Are they talking about heartbreak? Are they talking about anger? Are they talking about rage? Are they talking about God or spirituality or blessings? I have a whole playlist, playlist of inspirational music. It includes songs titled Brave, Confident, Unbothered. I will listen to these playlists or to this playlist on repeat sometimes if I am vibing low. I listen to this playlist as a reminder that I am brave and I am confident and I am unbothered. Look at what you watch. Are you watching reality TV? Are you watching dramas? my gosh, I remember I used to watch all the dateline shows all the time. And and not not only did I watch them, but I often watched them before bed. And and and it it's not that I'm morbid. I I was disgusted by what the the human race is actually capable of. But I was so intrigued in solving the mysteries. But that doesn't matter. I was watching a lot of crime TV and I was really unhappy and I was really scared. Always walking around like like who's the bad guy? What are you watching? What are you reading? Who are you hanging around? What activities are you participating in? Every single choice you make during the day, every single thought you have, all of these things are shaping not only who you become, but what your current experience is. And I and I know it might seem a little bit harsh. And I'm not blaming you. I'm not placing fault on you. But today, everyone, please take an inventory of what you consume: body, mind, and soul. How are you feeding your soul? Or are you reading inspirational books? Are you spending time every day meditating, praying? Do you read the Bible or other spiritual teachings? What are you doing with all of your free time? Because look, people tell me all the time how lucky I am. And I I agree, there is a bit of What seems to be Lucky Girl syndrome going on in my life. But what you don't see are the hundreds and thousands of hours that I have spent retraining my brain and my central nervous system that it is safe to exist in the world, that it is safe to receive love, that it is safe to believe in myself. If you believe you are capable and lucky, you are going to be capable and lucky. If you believe that the other shoe ultimately is always going to drop, the other shoe is always going to drop. When I was coaching, I would start every single session with what's going well to set the tone. How do you set the tone for yourself every single day? You are the creator of your own reality, whether you like your reality or not. There is a possibility, there is potential that you created where you are right now from a very different belief system that you have than what you have right now. But when you experience things that you do not want to experience, you must be honest with yourself. You must look at at look at your thoughts, look at your behaviors, look at your actions, look at your belief system. And when you find that thing, it is not about beating yourself up. It is very much the opposite. I have finally gotten to a place that that when I when I trip on something in my belief system, I I'm not saying it's not sad, I'm not saying it's not tragic, I'm not saying I don't cry. I'm not saying that. But what I'm saying is it's an opportunity. It's an opportunity to look at what's there. It's an opportunity to accept that this is something that is within you. And It is an opportunity for you to change it. If your physical reality does not match what you want, you must challenge your belief system, but it it it's more than that. You must look at every single thing you're consuming. And you must start curating your feed. Think about it like social. You keep getting all of these types of posts that you don't want. Well, it's easy enough to change the algorithm. You start searching for what you want instead. So instead of boo hooing, how can you get busy today curating your feed? How can you get busy today? creating the reality that you want instead of where you actually are. Okay. That's what I have for you today. Until next time.
