- 0:02Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All Right, Well, like Sunday,
- 0:08I have a few different podcasts. I'm gonna drop in the series here.
- 0:12So where do I start. Well, I'm gonna start with my own journey.
- 0:15Okay, I've been talking about on the air and radio and private talks
- 0:21that you know. I've traded in the hot dogs, the greasy hamburgers,
- 0:29although they're delicious, for the healthier stuff at Yankee Stadium. That is a
- 0:34big win. Since May twentieth onward, see that hospitalization. Some would say,
- 0:42you've had to coming to you, You never to carry yourself this side
- 0:45the other. But I look at it as another blessing because this warning sign,
- 0:50that gullstone that pained me on from May twenty to May twenty second.
- 0:55Having arriving in pain has taught me a lesson. Go for the waters,
- 1:03the vitamin waters, Go for even the iced tea. But no more pepsi,
- 1:11No more of those sugary drinks, you know, the horrible soda that
- 1:19I used to live off of. When it comes to coffee, my change
- 1:23is now decaf. Okay. I went from caffee every day to decaf with
- 1:26a little oat milk and maybe a shot of express pretty pretty much better.
- 1:34Though. The whole point is to deguncify my gallbladder and to deguncify and further
- 1:44keep things moving in the stomach area, the intestines, all that fun stuff.
- 1:49You've got to make the right choice. So I don't look at it
- 1:52as I had it coming. I look at it as it was a blessing
- 1:56because now I instinctually don't reach for the pizza. I instinctually don't reach for
- 2:02the Big Three, the McDonald's, the Wendy's, the Burger Kings. I
- 2:07cut those out entirely because what's it gonna do to me? It's gonna lead
- 2:13me back there in the hospital with that same pain. Who wants that?
- 2:17Who honestly wants that? So I guess it had to happen to have one
- 2:27leg up in this city again, because if it didn't, who knows how
- 2:30long I would have kept going. And maybe if you hear me now compared
- 2:35to a couple of months ago, maybe maybe possibly I sound stronger than I
- 2:38did because I've cleaned out myself. Yes, I have this one of my
- 2:42family, my loved ones, Gabby, my mom, my stepdad, my
- 2:46sister Abby, and my friends. But ultimately it's my choice now, not
- 2:54that it wasn't before, but I've recognized it's my choice. Do I go
- 2:59for the mushroom bar early soup or the fatty burger and French fries. Do
- 3:06I go for the hot dogs or the peants and crackerjacks, or do I
- 3:09go for the roasted chicken, which we had by the way at Yankee Stadium.
- 3:15It's a choice, and I've never thought of it that way, but
- 3:20now I am more conscious of that choice. I'm even more conscious about my
- 3:23body's moving because of this episode. So I'm very thankful this happened. Did
- 3:30it hurt like a bitch? Yes, it did, But I'm very thankful
- 3:35it happened because if it didn't, who knows how much more gunking and gunk
- 3:45was gonna happen what they're calling his gold Planter sludge. And the other part
- 3:50of this journey I've realized is it's okay to talk about it. It's not
- 3:53oversharing, because who knows, you might have many people in your fear that
- 4:00I've dealt with, or have family members that have dealt with gall bladder gallstone
- 4:04issues, or even have it removed from the body. It's a more prevalent
- 4:11thing than we talk about, because it doesn't really affect us until it boom
- 4:17hits us right where it hurts in that stomach area. I don't want to
- 4:21feel that pain again. I really don't. This is amazing and estimated six
- 4:39point three million men and fourteen point two million women who have had gallbladder disease
- 4:46or some kind of gallbladder issue. When I got my high cholesterol, I
- 4:53kind of was on alert in the beginning of May. Tried to follow upon
- 4:57it didn't work out. All of a sudden, I'm sitting there wondering why
- 5:02I'm not, you know, going to the bathroom. Now, this is
- 5:08oversharing. I'm sorry, but this is my journey right here. And then
- 5:13when they said you have pancreatitus, you might have you passed a gallstone.
- 5:18That's what we believe, that's what the doctors believe. Change everything, the
- 5:25diagnoses changed everything. But how about you? Have you instinctually avoided the fatty
- 5:34foods? Have you instinctually avoided foods that will harm the body? Have you
- 5:41had a moment where you have realized your body is a temple and you must
- 5:46treat it as so. I tell you, I have This moment was a
- 5:56moment where I had had realized I had treating my body as that temple that
- 6:01Christ talks about. But I will, and maybe you will be inspired too
- 6:09as well, because I don't want another person to have to rive in pain
- 6:13because of gallstones or kidney stones. Even these things can be avoided. I
- 6:18believe that, and I'm working on it. I'm instinctually putting it out there
- 6:27just by my daily choice. It is a choice. I thought going in
- 6:30the bathroom with the captain or was my only choice. No, there's a
- 6:34whole bunch of other choices we make in a day that not only changes the
- 6:39trajectory of our day, but of our health. So how are you changing
- 6:45the trajectory of not only your day but your health in the upswing? How
- 6:49are you making sure your body stock is going up, not declining to a
- 6:54point of arriving in pain in a hospital bed. Well, for me,
- 7:00that choice is very clear, having lived it, experience it, gotten nauseous
- 7:05from it. The nausea now is when I think of passing by a white
- 7:12deal, a burger here McDonald's. That gives me daus. That gives me
- 7:17nausea, as is the two dollar pizzas and I used to love those too.
- 7:23Can't have it, can't have it. So maybe I did have this
- 7:30coming to me after my ugly diet of caffeinated coffee and sewd almost every day
- 7:38and not injecting that vitamin water and I'm injecting, you know, things to
- 7:45make the body move. Now, I'm on a regiment, and that regimen
- 7:53should give me another forty to fifty years. We pray to God, pray
- 8:00to God. But if you're listening to this today on the Alex Carrett podcast
- 8:03Network, not only change the trajectory of your day, change the trajectory of
- 8:09your health. Everything you eat, everything you drink is a choice. I
- 8:16don't give a crap about peer pressure. It's a choice. So what choice
- 8:20are you gonna make today? Will you be like me and instinctly avoiding the
- 8:26bad crap from now on? Or will you be like this stat was astounding,
- 8:35Like the ninety three percent of Americans what more than one chronic health condition.
- 8:43We gotta get people away from that ninety three percent and into that seven
- 8:46percent category. And of the percentage of those who don't even have one chronic
- 8:52condition or have worked on it and not developed even more, the ratio can
- 8:58be reduced. We just have to instinctually avoid the bad shit. Yes,
- 9:03I said shit, the bad shit, And that's what I'm gonna tell you
- 9:09every day or daily. Hey, guess what I had my mushroom barley soup.
- 9:13I had brisk iced tea instead of a soada. I had a whole
- 9:18weed toast instead of white toasts. I mean, there are little changes throughout
- 9:22the day we all can make to just get our body right. So comingly
- 9:28on my journey, maybe my journey will inspire to get on a journey of
- 9:33eating well, of drinking your water, your viamin water, even mineral water,
- 9:46and also on your on your snacks. We have been enjoying delicious dairy
- 9:56free ice cream. That's been a trip because it's so good. It's dairy
- 9:58free, so they told me. I've looked it up. Gall bladder research
- 10:03says cut out the dairy as much as possible. Soy milk and oat milk
- 10:11I seem to tolerate, but that two that whole milk, no surrey,
- 10:18no surrey, Bob. So instinctual avoidance is how I'm gonna label this podcast,
- 10:26and how instinctual avoidance of the bad stuff can bring you more life,
- 10:33more years on this planet Earth that we all should love so much. Thanks
- 10:39be to God. On the Alex Garrett Podcast Network
